About the Cheating Dilf Izuku, I'm curious to know what would have happen if Izuku arrived again a minute too late?
Seeing reader die in the hands of Jigsaw since every story and anime i see.
The lovable and caring husband turns into like mean and abused after their wife dies like in Demon Slayer, Rengoku Shinjuro?
So yeah! Curious to know what would Izuku do once reader is gone and what will happen to the sprouts and how they would cope up with the fact their lovable mother is gone?
Also! Loved the mini series!🫶🫶 Hell it made me cry! I should be studying for the exam but damnnnn need some angst 😭😭
You mentioned a Rengoku and I perked up, @freshherowinnercloud. I LOVE Kyuojiro. I'd want all his babies. Either way, back to my main man.
Well... I think Reader and Izuku are very close in a sense that Izuku could very well not see a point in living anymore because of the fact that Reader isn't there. She gave him everything in his life, his home, his children, the things that push him to continue. But she's gone... that would be a very difficult situation for everyone.

Warning: Heavy depression, Reader's death, oldest sybling syndrome, grief
Toshinori entered his parents father's room. The curtains were drawn just like always, the room dark and stuffy. Toshinori entered the room, the room silent. Lying in bed was his father. Toshinori glanced at the lunch he had brought him. Not even a bite out of the sandwich that he had made.
Toshinori glanced down at the dinner he brought with him. He sighed as he walked forward, to where Izuku's side of the bed was. He replaced the lunch that was there with dinner that he knew he wouldn't touch.
The fourteen year old boy wasn't even sure if his father had even left his room since after the funeral.
The day you had passed was a dark day in the Midoriya household. It was the day that the very sun that kept the garden that was the Midoriya family, stopped shining.
Toshinori still couldn't get the sound of his father's scream in pure agony in the hospital out of his head. The sound of a man who had lost his wife and very meaning of existence.
You were murdered by Jigsaw, the villain who was rotting in prison right now, but was still breathing. You had gone to pick up Shoyo from preschool when the villain had attacked. You sacrificed yourself to save all those kids including your son.
And yet, Toshinori couldn't have helped but be so mad at you for it. Why did you have to do that? Why did you have to go on and get yourself killed?
You weren't a hero.
You were his mom.
And yet the moment you died, Toshinori didn't cry. He didn't cry once, not in public that is. Even at the funeral, when his grandma had put the boys all in black suits and stood next to her son at your funeral. Toshinori and his father were the only ones that didn't cry at the funeral. However, Toshinori was sure his father didn't cry for the same reason he did.
Izuku simply had no tears left on that morning to shed, and one could see it straight how much he was but a cusp of the man he once was. Standing there motionless, silent, rigid. Inko and Toshinori received all the condolences, people just having to take one glance at the Number One hero to see that he was in no state to even be there.
Since then, Toshinori tried to keep his brothers together. With the help of his grandma and his godpaerents, Aunty Mina and Uncle Hanta. Although he never asked for help, it was nice that they pitched in. Buying groceries, taking the boys to school, making lunch for them. All things Toshinori first denied them needing, but accepted anyways.
It was hard on all of the boys, not having you here. The house was quieter and empty. It was cold and lacked the warmth you brought.
Asahi buried himself in studying. He barely did anything else, other than start fights as well. Toshinori had to go to guardian meetings for parents because of the fact that his father just wasn't able to. Toshinori couldn't even talk to his eleven year old brother because it was like talking to a whole different boy.
Hero had stopped smiling entirely. Toshinori hadn't heard a joke or laugh from him since the day you died. According to letters his teacher was sending, the seven year old wasn't doing well in school and he wasn't participating. A lot of his teachers were accomodating and were trying to help him pass but if he continued like this, he would fail the year. All Hero did was play sports, but at least he had that.
Shoyo still tried smiling. The five year old, given to his name, tried to be as happy but clearly couldn't quite understand that you were never coming back. He would wait by the door sometimes, Toshinori having to carry him to bed because he thought you'd come walking through.
Koda however, he was just three. He probably wouldn't even be able to remember your face in a year's time.
And through all this, Toshinori barely just passed his UA entrance exam, only getting in through recommendation and nothing more considering he was too busy keeping track of all his brothers and keeping his disconnected father alive, to study for the written exam.
Toshinori wondered how on earth you did it. How you kept track of five boys all at once. How you managed to keep this family together through everything.
Because Toshinori was at his wits end and he realised something painful...
He'd never be you.
Toshinori stopped himself from leaving the master bedroom. He dropped his head. "You know... you're really selfish." He said outloud. "You are really really selfish."
He was met with silence was more. He turned to look at his father who's back was turned away from him, looking to your side of the bed where it was empty and it didn't smell like you anymore.
Toshinori tried to fight the rising bile of disgust and anger that was in his throat. "You just lay there and do nothing while I'm doing my best to keep us together!" Toshinori shouted as he motioned to his father. "Ever since mom-" Toshinori's throat closed up, being unable to see say it. He scowled disappointed in himself, tears flowing to his eyes. "You haven't been here. I need you to be here! We need you! Your sons need you! We don't have anybody else!" He shouted.
He was once again met with silence, dead stagnant silence.
Toshinori squeezed his eyes shut, letting the fat Midoriya tears flow from his eyes. "I lost my mom..." He let out weakly. "Your wife... I know how it feels but please... Dad please..." His voice cracked as he stared at his father's form. "I can't do this by myself. It's suffocating me. Please..."
His father didn't respond. He didn't move. He didn't speak.
Just nothing.
The fourteen year old lost all emotion to his face. He let out a scoff as he wiped his face with his sleeve. "What did I expect from you?" He let out lowly as he walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
Toshinori went straight to his room, placing the plate on his desk and closing his door. He walked straight to bed, too tired to even look at whatever homework he had to do or whatever studying he should probably touch up on. He fell back, staring up at the ceiling.
Suddenly his phone screen lit up.
Weakly he grabbed it off his bed side and looked at the screen.
(1) Memories from this day a few years ago.
Toshinori knew that sometimes the cloud storage recommended photos and videos from years back, but this was an odd one.
He tapped the notification. It was a video. Toshinori sighed, debating whether or whether not to watch it. Not seeing anything better to do, he tapped it.
The video started dark first but then light appeared. The camera work was shaky but then a laugh was heard. The camera panned to a young Toshinori, just a year old, who was sitting in a high chair with his chubby face covered in icing and cake crumbs. "Toshinori!"
The sound of his mother's voice made him still. Tears burned at his eyes just hearing your voice and your laughter.
The little baby looked up at the camera before laughing. The sound of his father's own laughter sounded closer than yours. You stepped into the frame with a cloth in hand. "You've got cake all over your face, baby." You said amusedly as you tried to clean him and his chubby grabby hands. "He's just happy about his birthday cake." Izuku said as he held the camera. "You only turn one once." You chuckled as you finally had your son clean, his big eyes blinking as you picked him up out of his chair. "That's true..." Finally your face was in view. Beautiful and lovely as you looked at Toshinori with so much love and devotion. "Oh my big boy. Look at how big you are already? My little hero." You laughed brining your nose to his. Toshinori giggled in the video, putting his now clean hands on your face. You smiled dearly, putting a kiss to his face. "Happy birthday, Toshinori!" Then the camera flipped and his father was there too. Izuku laughed as he pulled you and Toshinori into a hug, the three of you together. He had a bright smile on his freckled face. "Happy birthday, Toshinori." "Izuku did you take a picture?" His father moved his face close to the screen. "Oh this is a video." "Izuku!"
At the tone that you said his father's name Toshinori couldn't help but laugh. You always said his name like that when he says or does something wrong. The video ended with that. And that's when Toshinori remembered that you always used to send this video to his phone on his birthday.
Which only meant one thing.
Toshinori scrolled up to see birthday wishes and messages that were unopened on his phone.
It was 11pm...
and today was his birthday.
Izuku wasn't sure what it was about what Toshinori had said but the moment the boy left. He felt some semblance of control over himself. He had been stuck in a constant state of nothingness, feeling nothing, experiencing nothing, thinking about nothing, other than the fact that you weren't here anymore.
But now... now he felt like you'd be so disappointed in him.
Izuku buried his face in his pillow.
His boys. His wonderful boys that you gave him and look at what he was doing to them.
He couldn't for the life of him, feel like a responsible adult. In his mid fourties, having lost nearly a third of the weight he was before you had died and here he was rotting away like a sad worm.
Izuku reached over to grab his phone that was probably dead, to his surprise wasn't and he tapped the first person he thought of calling.
"... Izuku?! Is... Is that you?"
At the sound of his mother's voice, Izuku felt like putting down. He wasn't worthy to talk to her when she was spending everyday here, taking care of his own children while he felt like a failure.
"Izuku! Izuku if its you... please say something..."
"... Okaasan..." His voice was hoarse from lack of use and honestly he couldn't rememeber him ever sounding like that.
But his mother knew her son when she heard him and she let out a relieved sigh. "Oh thank God. I'm sorry I'm not there. I had to come home and get my laundry washed and buy a few things for the boys. Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
Izuku didn't answer immediately but he let out a shaky breath. "I... I need help."
-Glitch1d
moral of the story, Izuku gets help and he tries to come back into the boys' lives. He disconnects for the most part. But it's understandable, but still painful

Melting the Dragon King's Heart (Part 1)
Fandom: Twisted Wonderland Malleus Draconia/F!Reader Summary: After falling down some stairs, you wake up in the body of a villain from one of Idia's cheesy romance books. Destined to die a fiery death, you have to figure out a way to change your fate. Word Count: 6,974 Notes: I've been reading a lot of isekai lately, which sparked this story. Hope you enjoy! Warnings: Mentions of past physical and emotional abuse, reader uses she/her pronouns
Part 1 Part 2, Part 3
“The person you are trying to call is unavailable. Please leave your message after the beep. After, you may…” Letting out a deep sigh, you wait for the message to finish.
“Hey, Idia, it’s me. I know you’re probably gaming right now, but I wanted to let you know I’ll be dropping by later today.” You pause before darting across the street. You nearly get hit by a car but make it on the sidewalk unscathed.
“Anyways, I finished ‘Melting the Dragon King’s Heart’ and that was the cringiest thing I’ve read! I’ll give you the full review when I come over.”
Ending the call, you shake your head at the phone screen. You head down the stairs to the subway while shooting Idia another text. Not watching where you’re going, your foot misses a step and you're sent careening down the stairs.
“Watch out!” a voice shouts.
---
You black out momentarily before regaining consciousness. Something feels off but you can’t quite place what. Your head pounds and your body aches. You can hear muffled voices.
Eyes opening, unfamiliar faces stare down at you. “Your highness?” someone asks.
Sitting up, you reach for your head but freeze when you realize that isn’t your hand. “Please be careful, your highness.”
Slowly studying the hand, you wave it around. You ignore the whispers and looks. You slowly reach your face, but it doesn’t feel like your face. Looking further down, you notice the clothes you’re wearing are completely different.
“W-what’s going on?” You slap a hand over your mouth. Definitely not your voice.
An elderly man leans down. “You fell off your horse, your highness. Are you feeling okay?”
You stare at him, before pointing to yourself. “A-are you talking to me?”
His brows draw together as he gives a concerned glance behind you. “You took quite a tumble so you might be a little out of sorts.”
He reaches to help you up, but you jerk away. Standing on your own, your head continues to throb painfully. You push past the group of people. You’re not sure where you're going, but your feet seem to know. Your brain is too scrambled to even notice your surroundings. Rushing down hallways and past other people, you enter into a room and lock the door.
Your gaze immediately falls on the full length mirror. As you slowly approach, the reflection in the mirror is not your own. You touch the cold surface and so does the image. Reaching up, you slap your cheeks a few times, the image does too. Your face stings.
“What the hell!?” And then your headache intensifies. You crumble to the floor clutching your head. Memories that aren’t yours flood your mind before you blackout once more.
---
You can’t believe you’re in Idia’s horrible isekai novel. Worse, you’re in the body of the secondary villain! She wasn’t very important to the story besides a vehicle to drive the plot. She didn’t even get a name. The story was from the protagonist's point of view, so you learned very little of the queen. In the end, she and her family died a fiery death after their nefarious plans to control the dragon king, Malleus Draconia, were uncovered by the protagonist.
Based on her memories, her marriage to the dragon king was six months ago. So, you had six more months before the arrival of the protagonist. Which also meant you had half a year before you’d be burned to death. You had no plans on dying. Again.
Crawling out of bed, you head to the connected bath. The maids had drawn a hot bath. Glancing in the bathroom mirror, you get a flash of her back. Old and newer scars crisscross the expanse of skin. The first time you saw them, you were flooded with horrible memories. Memories of a younger version crying while being beaten within an inch of her life. You tried to stay away from mirrors as much as possible.
Being the secondary villain, she isn’t really what you’d call evil. In the story, she came off like an emotionless puppet. The queen has a unique magic that can turn someone’s heart to ice, which allows her to control them. Ironic really. From what you remember from the story, the dragon king is too powerful, so her unique magic didn’t work right away. Over the course of a year, she uses her magic on him everyday. This causes him to become distant and easier to manipulate. When she’s almost successful, the king meets the protagonist, who immediately melts his frozen heart. It’s honestly so cliche, you had a hard time getting to the end. When you read the story, you felt nothing for the villains.
Having the queen’s memories, you feel bad for her. Her entire life was dictated by her parents, the duke and duchess. From what she wore to what she ate to what kind of instrument she played, it was chosen for her. Any sense of rebellion was quickly beaten out of her from a young age. She was molded into the perfect puppet that her parents could control. She had no say in the plan. From what you can tell, she didn’t even have any feelings about the king. Or anything for that matter.
Truly a sad villain.
After being found passed out on the floor, you were put on strict bed rest for a few days. According to the doctors the fall from the horse caused the queen to stop breathing for a few minutes. You wonder if at that time she had died, you had somehow entered her body. It didn’t feel like you’re sharing the body with anyone. The only thing left behind are her memories and lingering emotions.
During the mandatory bedrest, you hatched a plan. You need to get the dragon king to be your ally. Sure he’s technically this body’s - your body now - husband, but at this point in time, he’s become very distant because of her magic. You would stop using the magic on him, and hopefully he would return to normal. Then, when the protagonist shows up, they can take down the real villains. You’d have an amicable divorce and live the rest of your life out in peace.
Taking a deep breath, you steel yourself. Operation save yourself from certain fiery death starts now!
---
“Your highness, are you feeling better?” the old butler, Diablo, from before asks. He sets down a tea tray. Having been with the Draconia family for ages, he’s assigned to watch over the queen.
“Yes, my head doesn’t hurt anymore. The delicious food helps.” If there’s one thing you like about this new life, it’s the food. You could stuff your face with food and never be tired.
The salt-and-pepper haired man pauses but quickly collects himself. He pours another cup of tea while you finish up breakfast. “I’m glad to see you’ve gained a healthy appetite.”
Pausing mid-bite, you remember that the queen only picked at her food. Her memories often depicted a somber scene while she ate by herself. No talking or eye contact was ever made. She never bothered to hide her disinterest.
When you read the book, you didn’t feel too bad for the queen. The author barely wrote about her except when the story needed to continue. Perhaps that’s why you didn’t like the story. The queen was a lackluster villain while her parents were almost cartoonishly evil. The protagonist had been a little better, but still somewhat flat. However, you assumed the appeal was the sweet romance between the two. The romance was actually kind of cute. Speaking of romance, you have yet to see the dragon king in person.
“Your highness?” Diablo brought you from your thoughts.
“Hmm?” You realize your teacup is empty. “Did I drink that?”
He nods. “Yes, your highness. You were deep in thought while taking sips.”
You’re surprised you didn’t dribble any on you. Maybe it’s all due to the rigorous etiquette training the queen had gone through. “Is there anything I have planned today?”
“Not today, your highness.”
Great, you have the whole day to do whatever you want. “Diablo, where is the king?”
“In his study. He’s been up before the crack of dawn,” he informs you.
Thanks to her memories, you know exactly where his study is. You also know she never bothers him until she has to use her magic. However, now that this is your life, you plan to do whatever it takes to save yourself from dying.
“Thank you, Diablo.” Leaving the dining hall, you head to your dear husband’s study. Diablo follows a few paces behind.
“Are you planning to visit his highness?” he inquires.
He’s always with you. “Yes. I thought we could spend some time together.” Glancing behind you, his face is a neutral mask.
He merely nods when he meets your gaze. “An excellent idea, your highness.”
Arriving at the door to his study, you knock. There’s no answer. “Are you sure he’s here?”
“Yes. He rarely leaves his study until lunch time, your highness. Would you like me to check?” He gestures to the door.
“No, that’s okay. I can do it.” Grabbing the handle, you pull the door open. The room is mostly dark due to the curtains being drawn closed. Stepping inside, your eyes adjust to the gloom.
Malleus Draconia is an intimidating figure. Even sitting down he seems to tower over everything. His inky black hair contrasts with his pale skin. His most characteristic trait are the obsidian colored horns on his head. They gleam even in the low light. The lamp on his desk casts shadows on the bookshelf behind him. He’s very fitting for a male lead.
He doesn’t make a move to look up from his work. “Is there something wrong, Diablo?”
The old butler clears his throat. “No, your majesty.”
“I came to see you.” You paste on a smile though it’s a lot more work than you thought. It’s as if this face has never smiled, which wouldn’t be a surprise.
Malleus does look up when you speak. For a brief second his eyes widen before his brows draw together. “Is there something wrong, my queen?” His gaze remains dull. His eyes are like the color of old, dried leaves.
Stepping forward so you’re standing in front of his desk, you shake your head. “Nothing is wrong. Do I need a reason to visit you?”
His expression smooths. He has a cool, detached look. “Of course not. This palace is your home, you are allowed to go wherever you want. Do you need something?”
Clasping your hands together, you lean closer. “I was wondering if we could do something together. Once you’re done with everything, of course.”
He returns back to the paperwork. “I don’t know if I’ll have time. There’s a lot of things I need to do. And the war with the Queendom of Roses takes precedence…”
You blink twice. “War?”
“Yes. Your father had mentioned how the Queendom has been encroaching on his territory. He says they’re looking to take over more and more of Briar Valley. We should act before they even have a chance,” he explains.
Well this is the first you’ve heard of a war. However, if memory serves your right, your parents had invested interest in the land bordering the Queendom of Roses. Your home is a small land squished between two mighty kingdoms. Though not technically royalty, your parents are basically the rulers. They wanted to expand, but couldn’t. Unless…a war breaks out somehow. Compared to the Queendom, Briar Valley is far superior in magical combat. You’re pretty sure all Malleus has to do is wave his hand to annihilate the country off the map if he so wished.
Chewing on your lip, you wonder if there’s anything you can do to prevent this. You’d rather not let your so-called parents win anything. “How about we have lunch in the garden later?”
His hand pauses in writing. “You wish to eat together?” he asks, not looking up.
“Yes, I’d like to.” You’re determined to spend some time with him. Your life is at stake!
“Alright.” He returns back to writing.
Inwardly giving yourself a pat on the back, you flash him a smile even though he can’t see it. “I’ll see then, your majesty.”
Leaving the office, Diablo quietly closes the door. “Where can I find more information about the Queendom of Roses?”
“We can start at the royal library. I’m sure the head librarian can help find what you’re looking for.” Diablo leads the way.
---
You're late for lunch. Getting lost in the research about the Queendom of Roses, you forgot the time. Thankful Diablo came to remind you. Rushing to the gardens with an armful of papers and a few books, you easily navigate your way through the maze of the palace thanks to the former body’s memories.
Arriving, you immediately spy Malleus waiting at the table. Food is set out along with a tea cart. He looks utterly bored. However, he seems to perk up a bit as you come closer. Diablo immediately pulls out the chair for you to sit.
“Sorry I’m late! I got so lost in reading that I didn’t realize the time.” You place the books and papers on the table.
“What’s all this?” he asks, gesturing to the mess.
Trying to make a neater pile, you tap the top of one book. “I’ve been doing some research on the Queendom of Roses. And I don’t think going to war with them would be beneficial.”
“Oh?” He leans back, interest sparking his usual dull green eyes.
Opening one of the books with a map, you point to the page. “The Queendom of Roses is rich in natural resources when it comes to crops. A war would most likely ruin the land, and even magic wouldn’t be able to bring it back to what it once was.”
You rifle through your papers before finding the one you want. Placing it over the book, you continue, “Briar Valley lacks in certain resources when it comes to agriculture. We could make a trade agreement with the Queendom for their crops. It would greatly benefit the people.”
Malleus ponders your words. “And what of them encroaching on your country?”
“They have no need to expand nor do they have the power to do so.” You gesture to another book. “I doubt it’s on purpose.”
He stares at you. “So, are you saying your father lied? Was he trying to spark a fight between us and another country?”
Biting your tongue, you resist the urge to spill the truth. “I’m sure he was overreacting. Being such a small country, father takes the people’s safety as utmost. But I do think a war would be a waste of resources, time, and lives.”
Diablo clears the table of your things before serving lunch. Malleus eyes you curiously. “You’re sure about this?”
“Yes,” you answer firmly without hesitation.
Picking up a fork, he spears a tomato slice. “Alright. We won’t go to war with the Queendom.” He turns to Diablo, “Let Lilia know to stand down. I’ll work on drafting a proposal to the Queendom later.”
The butler bows before leaving. You let out a deep sigh but straighten up when you realize Malleus is watching you. “Thank you, your majesty.” You’re glad he didn’t fight you on this. Though maybe due to the queen’s magic, he’s too apathetic to care.
“Somethings changed about you,” he muses aloud. You stiffen as panic starts to build. “Are you feeling well?” he inquires.
“I’m fine, your majesty.” You try to smile convincingly but it probably looks more like a grimace.
“I heard you fell off your horse a few days ago. No lingering aches or pains?” he probes. Why’s he suddenly interested? He didn’t visit once while you were on bedrest.
You stab a carrot. “I feel fine. I did some thinking and decided I wanted to take a more active role. I am the queen, so I should be doing more.” The lie slips easily off your tongue.
He’s quiet for a moment. “I see…”
---
For the rest of the day, you try your best to read into the current situation of Briar Valley. It seems the queen didn’t bother with anything related to politics. All she seemed to do was sit in her room until she was needed. You had many memories of staring blankly at a wall or something equally mundane.
You know there’s probably rumors of how the queen seems to be a different person. One of the maids had mumbled something about the fall knocking her brain around. You could care less what they said as long as you managed to change your fate. Knowing the situation of the country you supposedly co-ruled is a good start.
At least it doesn’t seem like your parents are causing too much trouble. Beyond trying to instigate a war with the Queendom of Roses, they’ve been quiet. Perhaps they’re waiting for the queen’s magic to take hold before doing anything drastic. If your plan works, they’ll be in jail soon.
You’re curled up in bed with a thick history book about Briar Valley. Having taken out a few books from the royal library, your room is starting to look like a mess with the books all over the place. You know the basics about the country from her lessons, but you want to go more in depth. It’s best to know everything you can.
There’s a knock at the door that links to Malleus’s room. Out of habit you glance around for the digital clock at your bedside. But it’s not there. “Of course…”
During your isolation in the bedroom, you found out from her memories that Malleus and the queen do not share a bed. Instead they each have their own rooms, which are connected by a door. However, the queen keeps her door locked. The only time it’s unlocked is when Malleus comes over for an hour before bed every other week. She had made up some excuse about wanting to spend a little time with him before bed. It’s the dumbest excuse you’ve heard but somehow he bought it.
Maybe he wanted to please the queen? Maybe he really is that naive about what couples do? Whatever the reason for him to agree to this ritual, it had made it easier for the queen to cast her magic.
Slipping out of bed, you unlock the door. Malleus stands there in casual clothes. He doesn’t look ready for sleep, but he does tend to stay up late from what Diablo said. You have to bite back the smile when you notice the black dragon slippers on his feet. Very dignified.
“Uh… hi…” This is certainly awkward. “The room’s a little messy, but the bed’s mostly clear.”
Malleus glances around, his eyes landing on the book you had been reading. “History of Briar Valley?”
You lead him to the bed. He sits at the edge of the bed while you scoot closer to the middle. You draw your legs up to your chest. Without asking, he holds out his hand. “Just some light reading,” you joke as you take his hand.
“...”
“...”
You really can’t just sit there in silence for an hour holding his hand. “Where’d you get those slippers?” you ask suddenly.
He blinks slowly while looking down. “Lilia gave them to me for my birthday last year. He said a king shouldn’t walk around barefoot.”
Very reasonable. “They’re cute.”
“Thank you. Would you like a pair?”
“Um, sure.” His hand is surprisingly comfortable to hold.
He nods. “I will ask Lilia to order once he returns.”
“...”
“...”
You glance at your discarded book. “Do you mind if I read?” You aren’t sure how she was able to sit for an hour staring off into space. This is too weird!
He shakes his head. “Go ahead.”
Grabbing the book with your free hand, you adjust your position and place it on your lap. As you return to reading, you can almost forget Malleus is next to you. Almost. A few times you can feel his intense stare, but when you look back, he’s looking at the far wall.
You’re only a few chapters in when he clears his throat. Looking up, he opens his mouth, but then closes it. “Yes?” You wait patiently for him to gather his words.
“The book mentioned the war with the old fae, but it’s wrong,” he informs you after a pause.
“It is?” You glance down at the date. “This took place almost a thousand years ago. Don’t tell me you were there?” Fae are long lived creatures, but you don’t think Malleus is that old.
He shakes his head. “No. Lilia would sometimes tell me stories from when he was in the army. I remember everything he said clearly. The war did not start the way the book states. Though I assume the author could only speculate since most don’t know the truth.”
“How did it start?” You lean closer, interested to hear what he has to say.
“Well…”
---
“...and then everything went up in flames.”
“No!” Eyes widen as your mouth falls open.
“Unfortunately, yes. I hate to admit it, but my control on my flames was not that good.” He sighs, covering his face with his free hand.
Chuckling, you give his hand an involuntary squeeze. “You were young. It’s not like you meant to set everything on fire.”
“That’s true, but for a long time I wasn’t allowed to do anything related to fire.” His lips quirk upward while you try and fail to cover your laughter.
“I-I’m not laughing at you. I just had an image of a smaller version of you.” Your shoulders shake. “I’d love to see a picture of when you were younger.” You can just see a small Malleus pouting while being told he’s not allowed to use his flames.
“I believe there’s a few portraits that were done when I was younger. They’ve been put away, but they should be in the royal storehouse,” he says thoughtfully.
Having calmed down, you shake your head. “Too bad there’s no candid photos of you…”
“Hmm?” He peers at you. “Is seeing a younger version of myself really that interesting?”
You flash him a quick smile. “Of course. Seeing a mini version of you would be so interesting. I’m sure you were very cute,” you tease.
He doesn’t seem to know how to take your comment. Staring at you blankly, his hold on your hand tightens slightly for a second. “Cute?”
“Well, I mean you look…you look, um, nice now. So it’s easy to assume you’d be a cute kid.” Now you’re starting to feel a bit embarrassed.
“I see… So that means you were also cute as a child,” he says in all seriousness.
Did he just give a compliment? You’re unsure what to say. Eyes darting around the room, you clear your throat. “Right. I think we’ve gone over time.” You immediately release his hand.
Malleus straightens up. “I’m sorry.”
He almost looks hurt. You quickly wave off his worry. “No need to apologize! I shouldn’t keep you.”
Standing, you follow Malleus to the door. You catch a glimpse of his dark room. “Good night, your majesty.”
“Good night…” He glances back as the door closes. You turn the lock in place with a click.
Heading to bed, you lay there surrounded by many pillows. A feeling of loneliness settles deep in your chest. You wonder how Idia and everyone else has taken the news of your death.
---
You let out a cough as dust billows out from the curtains. The once gloomy study at least looks a little better with natural light. The queen has her own study across from Malleus’s, but she never used it. It overlooks the garden below. You decided it would be a good place for you to work. And having so many books in your bedroom is starting to be a little too much.
“I do apologize for the dust, your highness. If you want, I can fetch someone to do a quick clean,” Diablo offers.
Wiping a finger along the desk, you note the layer of dust. “I think that would be for the best. While someone cleans up here, I’m going to gather the materials from my room.” The butler bows before leaving.
Leaving the study door open, you go back to your room. Gathering all the books and papers into a stack, you eye the leaning tower. You could make a few trips to ensure nothing will fall. But the less trips you have to make, the quicker you can get down to business.
Carrying the precarious tower of books while tucking the papers under one arm, you walk slowly down the hall. A few maids stop and offer to help, but you wave them off. You’re fairly certain you can handle this.
You’re nearly there when the papers from under your arm slip out. Narrowing your eyes, you shift the balance of the books to one hand. Slowly squatting, you reach out your free hand to try and pick up the papers while keeping an eye on the stack.
“Come on…” Your fingers brush against the papers. “There!” And the tower of books wobbles dangerously. “Don’t you dare…” Unfortunately the books do not listen and the stack tilts over.
But before they can fall, they start to float. Staring at the sight, the rest fly out of your hand. Realizing now that you’re not alone, you finally notice Malleus standing outside his study. He waves his hands and the books fly over to him. They stack neatly while floating at his side.
He gestures to the books. “It seemed that you needed help.”
Picking up the papers, you sigh. “Thank you. I thought I could make it…”
He follows you into the study. “You’ve decided to use the office,” he mumbles aloud. He sets the books on the now clean desk.
“I thought it would be better than my bedroom. And the view is nice,” you explain with a chuckle. “Since you’re across the way, feel free to visit.”
Malleus takes in the nearly empty room. Since the queen had never used it, there were no personal items. He turns back to you. “Do you want to write up the proposal for the Queendom of Roses?”
You owlishly blink. “M-me?”
“Yes. You are the one who came up with the idea. It would only be appropriate for you to draw up the proposal.”
Sure you had all her memories of how to be a proper queen. But she had never done any of her duties. Instead they were all dumped on Mallues. From her memories, he never said a word. He left the queen alone to do what she wanted.
Nervously licking your lips, you slowly nod. “I’ll try my best…”
“I can look over it once you're done,” he offers.
“Okay… Right, let me just start working on this.” Scrambling around your desk, you start shuffling through the papers. Malleus leaves you to your work.
---
Pouring through books on treaties and negotiations, you attempt to draft up a proposal. Diablo provides you with a few old proposals that were made back in the day. You also try to keep in mind the etiquette the Queendom of Roses has. They have a lot of rules; eight-hundred and ten to be exact.
If you want the proposal to be accepted, you need to ensure you’re following all their rules as well. It’s honestly ridiculous, but you’re determined to get this done right. If you can do this and show Malleus you’re capable, it’s bound to make you more favorable in his eyes. All you need is for him to think of you favorably by the time the protagonist shows up.
You crumble up another sheet of paper and toss it on the floor. The proposal writing isn’t going very well. Letting out a deep, frustrated sigh, you set down your pen. “Diablo, what time is it?”
“It’s nearly five, your highness,” he answers right away. You hear him snap the cover of his pocket watch closed. He comes in and out of your office offering tea and snacks. “Perhaps, it’s time you take a break,” he advises.
Groaning, you stand up. “Fine!” You probably sound like a child, but you wanted to get this done as soon as possible. However, you’ve barely made a dent.
“Might I suggest a walk in the garden to clear your head?” He bows. “The weather is lovely and some sun will do you good, your highness.”
Following his advice, you head out to the garden. It really is a beautiful place. Inhaling deeply, you feel some tension leave your body. “Mhmm! You’re right, Diablo. I needed this.”
The old butler bows. “I’m glad my suggestion is helping.”
You continue your leisurely walk through the gardens. There’s still something bothering you about this marriage. Your country is much smaller and weaker compared to Briar Valley. In regards to value, Briar Valley got the short end of the deal. And based on what you remember in the book, Malleus had no feelings for the queen. His one true love would be the protagonist. So why on earth did he agree to the marriage in the first place? The author never explained it.
“Your highness?” Diablo’s voice brings you out of your thoughts.
“Hmm?” He gestures to Malleus, who had at some point shown up. “Oh! Hello, your majesty.”
Malleus looks surprised to see you. “I did not expect to see you here.”
Right, because the queen usually spent her days locked in her room. “I just needed some air. I’ve been working on the proposal but haven’t had much luck.”
He nods. “I see.” You watch as his eyes dull and his face falls back into a stoic expression. The queen’s unique magic is still in effect. “If you need help, I’m sure there are some old proposals Diablo can find for you to use as samples.”
“He’s already done that. I think I just need more time to wrap my head around it.” You can only hope the unique magic effects will wear off eventually. “What brings you out here?”
Mallues holds up a watering can. “I wanted to tend to the roses.” You realize now that he’s actually dressed down. “I know we have the gardeners to take care of everything, but I do like to tend to the roses once and awhile,” he continues. “I haven’t felt up to the task recently, but today seems like a nice day.”
The image of the regal king of Briar Valley taking care of flowers pops into your head unbidden. It’s actually quite a heart warming image. “I didn’t realize you had a green thumb,” you joke. He really doesn’t seem the type to get down and dirty.
Head tilting slightly, he regards you coolly. “There’s a lot of things I like to do. I guess we just haven’t had much time to learn about each other.” There’s no maliciousness in his words, but it still hurts. And even though you know it’s not your fault, you still feel a bit bad.
“I guess we’ve been busy…” you respond lamely. Sighing, you look over to Diablo, but he’s busy minding his own business. “Do you mind if I…if I help?”
“If you want to.” He hands you the watering can. “I’ll do some pruning over there. You can start watering them over in that area.” He’s all business as he directs you.
Despite not being dressed properly for garden work, you don’t comment. Watering plants is fairly easy compared to pruning. As you silently water the plants, you watch Mallues from the corner of your eye. He’s laser focused as he works quickly and efficiently. He’s obviously done this a lot.
By the time you're done, you're sweating, dirty and exhausted. Your clothes are smeared with dirt from the times you leaned a bit too close. Wiping your forehead with the back of your hand, you can feel the fatigue in your body. The queen never did hard work, and you can tell just by how raw your hands feel. Gripping the watering can so much had caused the skin to blister and break.
“Your highness, I believe it would be best to go inside and rest,” Diablo called. The old butler had hovered around you with concern, but you had waved him off. You were determined to get this done without any help. Anything to get on Malleus’s good side.
You can feel the sweat clinging to you like a second skin. “I think you’re right…” you huff. The sun continues to shine down rather harshly as you peer up. “I think I need a bath,” you mumble.
Swaying as you walk, you stumble a few times. Diablo is by your side immediately. “Your highness!”
“Damn this body,” you mutter. Your vision is blurry as Diablo’s voice fades in and out. “I need a nap, Diab-” Then everything goes black.
---
When you wake, your body no longer feels like lead. You sit up in bed. Someone had changed you out of your clothes and into something clean. Panic settles in unbidden at the thought of someone seeing your - the queen’s - back. It’s something she wanted to keep hidden from everyone. Even if she’s no longer in the body, her emotions still linger. Some are stronger than others. This particular topic is a sensitive one.
“You’re awake, your highness.” Diablo stands from his seat in the corner of your room. Your head whips around in his direction.
“Who changed me?” you ask, not bothering to beat around the bush.
Standing at your bedside, he bows. “I did.”
The silence stretches on. Then, “Did you…?”
“I did not see anything, your highness,” he responds smoothly.
Your body relaxes. “Okay.”
Standing up straight, he adjusts his jacket. “Your highness, if you ever wish to talk, know that I am here. Whatever you say to me remains confidential. From everyone.”
A small smile forms on your lips. “Thank you, Diablo.”
Diablo nods. “His majesty wanted to know once you woke up. I will get him.” Giving one last bow, he leaves your room. After a few minutes, Malleus sweeps into the room and to your side.
He suddenly drops down on one knee and bows his head. “I’m sorry.”
“Pl-please stand, your majesty!” You wave your hands around uselessly.
Looking up, there’s something different in his gaze. “I should have realized you aren’t used to working outside like that. Instead of watching out for you like a good husband, I ignored you. Please forgive me.”
Reaching over, you try to push his shoulders to stand, but he does not budge. “Your majesty, I am fine. It’s partially my fault as well. I shouldn’t have pushed myself when I knew I needed rest.” Hands falling on your lap, you sigh. “Please stand, Malleus.”
That seems to have an effect. He slowly stands up. “Still, I should have checked in on you. I promise this won’t happen again.”
Patting the bed, you gesture for him to sit. He perches himself precariously on the edge. “I don’t mind helping with the roses. I want to spend more time with you doing things like this,” you tell him. “You’re right that we barely spend time together, so I’d like to remedy that.” You take his hand in your own.
He’s silent as he stares at your connected hands. Then, “I’d like that as well.”
There’s a comfortable silence between you two. Holding his hand feels comfortable. And dear you say his hand feels safe? It’s a strange feeling but not unwelcome. You feel closer to him now.
“What do you want to do?” he asks suddenly.
You manage to pull your gaze from your interlocked hands. “What?”
He runs his thumb over your knuckles absentmindedly. “You said you want to spend more time together. What did you want to do?”
“Right now?” He nods. “Uh…I don’t think my body can do much.” You look around before your eyes fall on a stack of books. “I was planning on reading a few of Briar Valley’s folklores. Do you want to read together?” It’s rather boring but you really don’t want to move.
Malleus gets up to grab the books. You scoot over to make room for him. He hesitates. “Come on. I promise I won’t bite.”
Sitting on the bed while propped up against the headboard, he hands you the books. “Lilia has read these to me before. But it’s been a long time,” he comments.
“It’ll be a refresher for you and something new for me.” Sharing the book between you two, you flip open to the first story. “Once upon a time…”
---
As promised, you spend a little more time with Malleus. You don’t do anything too exciting like little walks through the garden or reading together. The latter he seems to enjoy a lot. Sometimes he would pop into your office just to check-in. He even starts showing up for breakfast and dinner.
Honestly, it felt strange at first seeing him so often, but you quickly got used to it. And it’s nice to be able to talk with someone else besides Diablo.
“Diablo, where is Malleus?” you ask, setting down your pen. Stretching, your body feels stiff from sitting so long.
“He’s on the training grounds.” Taking the proposal in hand, you leave your office. “Master Lilia has returned with knights Silver and Sebek.”
You pause in your walk. Brief, blurry images of these three people emerge from the queen’s memories. It seems that she didn’t have many memories of these three. “Returned from?”
“They went on a mission in regards to the Queendom of Roses,” Diablo explains. “Since a possible war with them has been called off, there is no need for master Lilia to continue. I’m sure Sebek is thrilled to be back at his highness’s side.” Diablo chuckles while shaking his head.
Continuing your walk to the training grounds, you wonder what they’re like. Since the queen didn’t have any interactions with them, you’re going to meet them for the first time. From the brief information she had, the two knights are meant to protect Malleus. Master Lilia was Malleus’s caretaker from when he was a baby.
As you come to the outdoor training grounds, you can hear the murmur of voices. Malleus stands with the three Diablo mentioned. They seem to be having a good time as he even cracks a smile. At least the queen’s magic is weakening.
Sensing your presence, Malleus turns to you. His eyes immediately fall on the paper in your hands. “Have you finished the proposal?”
“Yup. I wanted you to check it.” Holding out the paper, he starts reading. You notice the other three are staring at you. “Hello…”
Silver and Sebek bow. “Your highness,” they say in unison.
Lilia’s gaze darts between you and Malleus. He smiles slyly. “It’s nice to see you two talking and getting along,” he says aloud.
“Hmm…” Malleus makes a noncommittal noise as he finishes reading the proposal. “It’s not bad. There are a few things I believe you can change, but it’s a good proposal overall. I’ll leave the edits in your office tomorrow.”
If there weren’t people around, you would've patted yourself on the back. “Thank you, Malleus!”
“Hrrk?!” Sebek makes a noise in the back of his throat.
You glance over at him as he tries to compose himself. Continuing, “I also think that once we send the proposal, we should do it the way the Queendom of Roses would.”
“That sounds like a good idea.” Malleus nods thoughtfully. “What are their customs?”
Ticking off the rules on your fingers, “We need to send two messengers on white horses. Each messenger should wear a red rose on their lapel. It must be before or after noon time as the queen typically takes tea then.” Your nose scrunches as you recall all the rules you read.
“They’re rules are unusual,” Malleus murmurs. “But I’m sure this will help better our stance with the queen of hearts.”
“That’s what I hope. Anyways, I’m going to finish up some of the other paperwork. I’ll see you for dinner?” You usually don’t ask since he’s been joining you for breakfast and dinner as of late. However, you want him to catch up with everyone.
Smiling, he nods. “Of course.”
Giving him a wave, you and Diablo return to your study. You can feel the other three staring the entire time.
---
Once you disappear Lilia leans in close to Malleus. “It seems that the queen has finally come out of her frozen shell, hmm?”
“Sh-she called you by your first name…” Sebek mutters, bewildered.
“We’ve been getting to know each other,” the dragon king replies. He has a faint smile on his face as he stares off into the direction you went.
The three exchange looks. Silver clears his throat. “I’m glad to see you two are getting closer. And you seem more yourself, your majesty.”
Hand under his chin, he hums thoughtfully. “Now that you mention it, I do feel…lighter.”
“Hoho, to be young~!” Lilia teases.
Shaking his head, Malleus's smile falls into a serious expression. “Did you find anything?” Down to business. His eye flash green as he casts a silencing spell around them.
All three straighten up. Lilia speaks first. “Unfortunately, we do have some bad news about the queen’s parents. It’s too bad seeing as you two are getting along…” He sighs.
“Go on.” Malleus is stone faced as Lilia tells him the news.

Hey I saw someone on Twitter saying you’re transphobic because it said in your Twitter bio “IDW Arcee is still a guy” even though the character is canonically trans. What’s your take on that? I’m not attacking you or anything I just genuinely want to know the context of all that.
Oh boy. Strap yourselves in kids; time for Chai's villain origin story.
So basically, IDW Arcee made his debut under the pen of Simon Furman, the dude who created Arcee in the first place. Simon Furman has a small massive chip on his shoulder over the notion of girl robots, but we're going to be talking in mostly Watsonian terms for now. IDW Arcee as he comes on the scene in Spotlight Arcee is the victim of a nonconsensual forced sex reassignment, we see right off the bat that this destroyed his life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's wracked with trauma and dysphoria over this, on a do-or-die quest to take out the mad scientist who did it (he succeeds and tortures said scientist for seven years straight), and is implied to suffer chronic pain.
This got a lot of criticism, but Simon Furman insisted it wasn't meant to be transphobic, just the opposite. When someone pointed out that this was a story about how traumatic it was to be assigned a gender you didn't feel was the one you should have, Furman agreed with this take.
Eventually Furman was shooed out and John Barber was brought in as writer, and nobody seemed to know how to deal with Arcee's backstory. So they just kind of...didn't. They wrote around it for eight whole years, never really acknowledging it, but frequently alluding to how traumatized he was from it. The only person to ever roll up their sleeves and tackle it head on was Mairghread Scott, the only person IMO to ever do justice to IDW Arcee.
Tumblr media
By the way, this panel made me weep. This issue also includes a fleeting, but notable moment where someone refers to Arcee with they/them pronouns, and at the time, I was extremely excited for this.
Shortly after this however, the comic came to an end and John Barber decided -- in the very last issue -- to bring in an expert. And by this, I mean he found some trans lady on Twitter and let her write Arcee. The last issue has Arcee concluding that the whole sex change was consensual and the violent murder spree was the result of, I quote, "bad meds."
Yeah, basically Arcee killed all those people because the Spiro was a little off.
I got into a lot of internet fights with people over this back in the day, criticizing it for being worse than what we started with, but also frequently pointing out that it wasn't Twitter lady's fault, as she wasn't the editor-in-chief at IDW and that there's a very good reason professional writers aren't supposed to do this sort of thing. In return, I got accused of hating trans women and still get some real ugly things in the inbox about it to this day. It was the first taste, bitter as wormwood, of what I as a trans man could expect from my own community.
Regardless of all that, Arcee is probably the most important fictional character to ever enter my life. He helped me realize I was trans, got me through some dark days, got me through heartbreak and top surgery. He saved my life a few times, and every so often he continues to. I owe so much to him.
If writing a very gentle fix-it fic where Arcee has a long talk with Anode (one of the trans lesbian bots from the vastly superior sister series James Roberts wrote) makes me a transphobe in these peoples' eyes, so be it. I don't care what they think. They never reached out to baby trans Chai and held his hand and kept him breathing.
Arcee did.

Mortal Kombat Isekai Au: Jonshi Edition
Open to further information in case of requests
John Carlton is an actor on the verge of bankruptcy, divorced and desperately in need of a well-paying job to pay off at least some of his debts. A friend suggests that he audition for a film based on a well-known video game. John does so and, surprisingly, gets a role.
There's one problem: the role is that of Johnny Cage, a minor villain with little screen time.
Not in a position to retreat, John complains to his agent, who forces him to play the game to learn as much as he can about his character. Needless to say, it's a disaster.
John plays, but discovers that not only is Johnny a minor villain, but a scum villain, betraying the champions out of greed. He understands that if he plays Johnny's role, the internet will tear him apart, and it will be even harder for him afterward. If the film is successful, the role will stick with him and everyone will hate him. If it goes badly, the blame will somehow be placed on him and his decline.
He calls his agent to say he has second thoughts, but someone enters the house and hits him. He hears the intruders arguing and realizes that they were sent by his ex to pocket his life insurance. Jock on her, she won't get a dime, it will all go to his daughter, Cassie, born from his first college girlfriend.
John dies. The end? No, beceuse he wakes up in MK world as Johnny Cage. Needless to say, he doesn't take it well
In the game, Johnny betrays the protagonists, blinds one of them, messes up and then dies like an idiot. John doesn't want die again. The first time was painful, the second time would be worse.
John doesn't have time to come up with a plan to avoid his destiny : immediately gets involved in the first level of the game, the fight between him and Kenshi.
Surprisingly, he wins the fight, and Kenshi is at his mercy. John doesn't want anything to do with the other man, and wants to hand over Sento to him. Too bad Liu Kang arrives and decrees that they have been chosen as champions.
John is in the shit
If he follows Lui Kang, he will end up killed. If he refuses, he will be sought by the god's enemies and will never be safe. He chooses the lesser evil and follows the god.
Another thing he hadn't foreseen: Kenshi always with him for Sento. Kenshi has to beat Johnny to have the right to have the sword, but he never wins, you want bad luck, you want that world's defaults.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck! Now he hates me! Forget Sub Zero, Kenshi will kill me.
What John doesn't know is that Kenshi doesn't hate him. On the contrary, he is very attracted to the actor. In his clan the strength is highly respected and all of his ancestors married strong people.
So, John fears he's in a revenge story, Kenshi and everyone else are in an epic story, but for them it's also a rom com. John is oblivuous, Kenshi is extra hocked by him.

Careful long rant incomming! If you are a bakugou fan its better to not read any further, so you are warned!
So regarding the new chapter. Well, like I already said, when I actually didnt believe hori could turn bakugous fake death and resurrecction even more terrible then it already was to begin with, he surprised me again. Its just SO bad!!! I have no idea what he thought when he wrote that bullshit and I really dont get how some people can defend it. I have seen many MANY terrible written fake deaths in fiction, but bakugous takes the crone! It didnt contributed ANYTHING to the story! It was just there to shock the readers and that backfired so hard that even hardcore bakugou fans were like "yeah right.... as if hori has the balls to kill his biggest money maker off". It was written in such a cheap way that NO ONE believed even for a second that bakugou would really stay dead and it pissed people on both sides (bakugou lovers and haters) off! And then, just to proof that it was indeed just for the shock value, right in the next chapter best jeanist and edgeshot come to the rescue. And in fact the most unlogical rescue I have EVER seen in shonen! They do a heart surgery on bakugou IN THE MIDDLE OF A BATTLEFIELD, with edgeshot desinfecting himself with SOAP BUBBLES before entering bakugous body and him and best jeanist stitching up bakugous RAPTURED heart and the hole in his chest, without giving him any oxygen or a blood transfusion for 30 MINUTES and he still didnt fucking die!!! Two guys with ZERO medical knowledge managed all of this, but now comes the best!!! They couldnt make his freshly operated heart beat again (lets also completly ignore the bloodlose and lacking oxygen!!!) so WHAT does it instead? A FUCKING SWEATDROP?????? THAT EXPLODED IN HIS BODY AND MADE HIS HEART BEAT AGAIN??????
WHAT THE FUCK HORI????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 How can anyone defend that shit?!?! Listen you dont need to be a medical genius to know that a small exlosion near a heart will absolutely not make it beat again!!! Honestly I think, just like @tengoku-izumi mentioned in the comment section of one of my posts that hori is aware how terrible he fucked up bakugous "death" and resurrecction to the point even bakugou fans had to facepalm themself and now is desperately trying to explain his crap writing. There was ZERO reason for this! Bakugous "death" didnt do ANYTHING for the story! If he wanted bakugou out of the way for a while to focus on other characters he didnt had to "kill" him just to resurrecct him in the VERY NEXT chapter! And now he didnt even had the balls to kill off edgeshot despite that it was said, he wouldnt be able to return! 🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely no one of the hero side fucking dies in this final WAR, how I am supposed to care or be worried about the chatacters if I know for a fact that hori doesnt have the balls to kill them off. Its supposed to be a war! People DIE in war and not only the bad guys! At this point he could rip someones head off and I wouldnt be worried at all that the character doesnt survive!
Now lets go to the bakugou vs afo fight. First off, the mere thought that bakugou should be able to FIGHT after he just woke up from a heart surgery, lost A LOT of blood, didnt got any oxygen for HALF AN HOUR, but still for some fucking reason can fight against the main villain now, is the most utterly ridiculous plot armour shit I have ever seen! He shouldnt even be able to MOVE!! And now BAKUGOU gets to fight the main villain AGAIN, not the actual mc of the story, NO the most horrible written side character in shonen history?!?! Are you fucking kidding me??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It almost feels like as if hori all of a sudden realized that bakugou is the only more prominent character in the story who doesnt have his own villain and was like: "uhmmm well uhhhhhh.... lets just give him the main villain then." At this point its not my hero academia anymore but "bakugous hero academia". Not only is he the one who safes all might (I would be fine with that even if he shouldnt be able to move in his condition), he also gets to fight the main villain, while the mcs fight against shigaraki till to this point happend almost completly OFFSCREEN!!!
There is just one good thing about the fact that bakugou fights afo. It proofes even more that there is a connection between afo and izuku. Hori really REALLY doesnt want izuku and afo to interact (yet) with each other! He is hiding something. There is no reason to not let afo and izuku see and interact with each other. Afo is the main villain and NOT ONCE did he and izuku directly talk or see each other face to face. And I think its maybe because izuku would recognize afo. There is no reason otherwise. Hori could still make bakugou fight against afo, AFTER afo managed to reach izuku and tomura but he stupornly makes sure afo and izuku dont interact and thats suspicious as hell! Also Im still confident that afo has an ace up his sleeve (like the overhaul quirk for example). Also this is the perfect oppunity for afo to mention little tsubasa (on of bakugous childhood friends/minions) and to explain what happend to him. Espicially if afo actually wanted to turn bakugou into a nomou, but he had to be fine with tsubasa, because bakugou was always to close to izuku to vanish unnoticed.
All in all it was an horrible written chapter. The worst hori has written so far. Bakugous plot armour really destroys this manga for me. I think I really need a break.

GILBERT VON OBSIDIAN EVENT STORY....
Tumblr media
CHAPTER ONE.
Rhodolite’s horror night.
translations are not 100% accurate. expect mistakes.
minors and ageless blogs dni.
Gilbert: Hehe, I'm so happy. I never thought that the little rabbit would take my hand.
Emma:…..
Now there is only me and Prince Gilbert in the chapel.
Tumblr media
Luke and Clavis immediately went to solve the mystery of a strange phenomenon different from us,
The situation was not so good, being alone with the prince of the enemy country.
(…Both of them told me to reconsider many times.)
(I wanted to reconsider, too. All I know is that I shouldn't have taken Prince Gilbert's hand.)
(It’s just——……)
━━FLASHBACK━━
Gilbert: Hey, little rabbit. I think the day will soon come when you will be forced to make a choice.
A few days ago, Prince Gilbert visited my room and scooped up my chin with his cane.
Gilbert: You'll definitely have to choose me then.
Emma: Why?
Gilbert: You won’t understand unless I tell you, right…?
━━FLASHBACK ENDS━━
(He’s threatening me.)
I can't make any bad resistance against Prince Gilbert, who has the title of the worldwide disaster and the trampling beast.
He’s the kind of person who doesn't make a joke about destroying a country if he gets into a bad mood.
Gilbert: What, you've got a look in your eyes like you want to say something.
Emma: No...it's nothing.
Gilbert: Hehe, that's good to know.
Gilbert: I was so nervous about what would happen if you didn't pick me.
(…The current situation is a lot scarier than the test of courage.)
(You’re definitely up to something. …Some kind of evil.)
That said, I have already had a fair amount of interaction with Prince Gilbert.
Unlike when I first met him, my body was unconditionally tense, now I’m becoming accustomed to him.
(It's true that he's a villain, but he's not the one who hurts me for no reason.)
Now that the situation had come to this, there was no turning back, so I decided to look forward.
Emma: Prince Gilbert...we are supposed to check the "Ghost Tower," which opens only at midnight, correct?
Gilbert: Yeah. That's what Clavis was talking about earlier.
━━FLASHBACK━━
Clavis: There is the so-called "unopened tower" in the annex of the Rhodolite Castle.
Clavis: The lock is broken and you can't normally get inside.
Clavis: Strangely enough, however, only in the middle of the night does the tower's door open and one can enter.
Clavis: Moreover, the tower should have already been reduced to ruins, but anyone says they saw the light, strange isn’t it?
Clavis: The servants are making a fuss about ghosts kept appearing and disappearing, and are reluctant to approach the tower.
Clavis: Well, it's not unreasonable. The tower was originally——
━━FLASHBACK ENDS━━
Gilbert: A tower for confining criminals before execution, wasn’t it?
Emma: Just like you said, Rhodolite used to have a system of public executions….
(There is no such system nowadays, but a tower where people who are about to die are locked….up.)
I don't believe in ghosts, but the tower has enough scenery to give me a premonition of what to expect.
(….I'm curious and interested, not to mention, there's a lot of fuss about it.)
Tumblr media
Gilbert: Are you afraid?
Prince Gilbert closes the distance with me and looks into my face.
Emma: No, I'm not——
As I was about to say that, then I remembered that the great villain in front of me hated lies.
Emma: I'm just a little...scared.
Tumblr media
Gilbert: Ahaha, the little rabbit is so honest.
Gilbert: But don't worry. There's nothing to fear more than me.
Emma: Is that so….
Gilbert: Yeah. That means I won't forgive anyone who hurts you.
Gilbert: Even if the opponent is a ghost….okay?
(That could be reassuring in a situation like this.)
(As long as Prince Gilbert is here, we'll be fine...right?)
Gilbert: Well then, shall we go? We can't stay here forever. Otherwise the rest of courage won’t end——
Tumblr media
Gilbert: ——As I thought, we’re in trouble.
It was nice to arrive at the abandoned tower that stood alone in the forest, but the weather was not good.
Emma: The rain is getting heavier. // It's raining harder now.
Tumblr media
(When we left the chapel, it wasn’t strong, so I thought we could go on.)
Thanks to Prince Gilbert for covering me with his cloak, I'm not too wet,
At this rate, both of us will get soaked.
Gilbert: There seems to be a cabin nearby, so let's go in there.
Gilbert: Oh, but before that….
Gilbert: I see...the lock is definitely broken, and it's made of solid stone, so it would be hard to break.
Emma: Will it open at midnight though?
(It's night now, but not quite midnight.)
Gilbert: Isn’t that the reason you came here?
Gilbert: Just the two of us in the cabin until the ghosts appear... hehe, how fun is that?
(….It's really starting to feel like a test of courage.)
Tumblr media
When we entered the cabin near the tower, I found that all the equipment was there.
Even though it was summer, my body was cold from getting wet in the rain,
I shuddered, and Prince Gilbert put the linen on my head.
Emma: Thank you very much. But Prince Gilbert is more soaked than me.
Gilbert: I’ll be fine— achoo.
Emma:…No, you’re not fine.
Since there is only one large piece of linen, I handed it to Prince Gilbert.
But the great villain seemed to be kind at a time like this, and he didn't accept it.
Emma: I'm sure Prince Gilbert is more chilled than I am.
Gilbert: My body temperature is low to begin with...But, yeah.
Gilbert: If you're that worried, how about we warm each other?
Emma: Warm each other….
By the time I sensed that the conversation was taking a strange turn, it was too late.
Tumblr media
Gilbert: Did you know? People naturally get warm by skin-to-skin contact.
Slowly, Prince Gilbert begins to remove the water-soaked cloak.
Next, I involuntarily averted my gaze when I saw him placing his hand on the button of his military uniform.
(No way…..don’t tell me….)
(You can't be serious!?)

Toga and her happy ending
I think after taking some time to process the latest chapter I can finally verbalize what feels wrong about it. First, I think it’s really good to be hopeful that Toga isnt dead, but I also feel like a lot of the fandom right now is trying to not think about Toga being dead because if she truly is then they might end up like how I’m feeling. So, let’s just say hypothetically she is like truly, really dead without a shadow of doubt.
Now, The first Issue I see with this writing is that it arguably goes against the themes of the story. In order to make a better society, our heroes need to be able to win AND save (hehe Bakugo and Deku at the core of the story once again). Otherwise, saving the league would feel hollow. So, Ochako DID win the fight between her and Toga by talking toga down from the edge and bringing out the goodness in her. But did she save her?
I would argue no.
Toga may be able to go out “her way”, but she still ends up dying before taking any further steps to heal and find her place as her authentic self within society. Ochako thinks she has a cute smile, but will everyone else? We are stripped of the negotiation process to get Toga the proper help she needs instead of throwing her in jail. We are deprived of Ochako standing up for her and helping her finally be the happy schoolgirl Toga always wanted to be, without the mask this time. We, the audience, are denied of seeing toga take accountability for her actions. Therefore, while Ochako may have saved Toga on a one-to-one level, and she still deserves credit for that btw, Toga ultimately died without witnessing society as a whole changing for the better. She was not saved— She was only helped… and is that a satisfying conclusion after years of buildup? After all the work to make Ochako come to value winning AND saving of everyone? Is that satisfying?
The fact that so many people refuse to believe Toga is dead points to this.
Tumblr media
One more thing I would want to add here is a comparison to another member of the lead, someone that I have seen a lot of members of the fandom fight back against the notion that they should die. That character is Tomura Shigaraki. I’ve seen people say that Tomura should die in a sacrificial way in order to redeem himself, but then in response many fans push back and speak about how that wouldn’t solve any of Shigaraki’s problems and instead it would only leave shigaraki in a state of limbo in terms of reaching a satisfying and logical conclusion for him. Deku wouldn’t have achieved his goal to the fullest extent, society wouldn’t get to accept Tomura and show that even he is design of forgiveness after what he was put through, and we wouldn’t get to see how a reformed hero society would handle the league of villains moving forward. Sound familiar? My point in bringing this up is to show that it seemingly doesn’t make sense how you can argue how one villain should survive while the other should die because either way the death of one villain, even if it’s a heroic sacrifice, is still an incomplete rescue. It’s still an incomplete narrative, as it had framed itself to be a hopeful one, despite all the dark aspects. So, let’s just keep that in mind.
My next point is going to be a heavy one, so buckle up. Let’s keep going with the hypothetical of Toga being really, truly dead, ok? Toga being dead has so many implications and undertones.  You can make an argument for, if she is the only league member that dies, how she is written in an upsetting way as both the only woman and canonically queer member of the league. Furthermore, the ‘Bury Your Gays’ trope is defined by killing off LGBTQ characters at an alarmingly higher rate than their heterosexual peers, and their death is usually because they entered some sort of queer relationship, or if someone has to die it might as well be the queer one. Am I saying that Horikoshi has malicious intent and hates queer people in stories? ABSOLUTELY NOT. DO NOT GO AND HARASS THE MAN BECAUSE IT ACCOMPLISHES NOTHING. But, there could be some internal bias because of Japanese society as a whole’s view of queer people. There also could be some push from editors to kill the queer character for this exact reason. Of course, this is all speculation and it’s not ok to jump to conclusions and assume the worst of writers. But Toga meant something to people. She meant something to queer people. If the reformed hero society could accept Toga for who she is, then wouldn’t that include her queerness? In a world where homophobia is increasing again at an alarming rate, kids need to see that being queer doesn’t mean that they have to be the “villain” in society’s eyes. Queer people deserve saving. But as my previous point discussed, Toga was not fully saved. Queer kids reading the manga will not get to see how Toga could find her sense of belonging in society while still living her truth. The queer subtext behind her relationship with Ochako will end in of of their deaths. Therefore, as someone with experience with living in a homophobic household and having to hide themselves, this does not feel like a happy ending.
Furthermore, I’m going to make another comparison just like I did in my previous point. But this time, I’m going to use a character from a different franchise that also involves superhero’s and is a heavy inspiration for Horikoshi’s writing. That character is Black Widow from the MCU. She was a beloved character, but often underutilized by the writers. The only female member of the avengers, Black Widow was often sexualized and used as the object of desire out of the bunch. She was badass, but always tied to her male counterparts. She was not allowed to exist without the other male avengers around. This was the pattern of her character writing for many years, up until Avengers: Endgame premiered. When that movie came out, Blackwidow played a key role… that role was to sacrifice herself. She did this so that her best friend, Hawkeye, wouldn’t have to sacrifice himself instead. He didn’t want her to sacrifice herself. He was fine with dying and tried to stop her. But despite his efforts, Blackwidow still sacrificed herself and died. This happened before she could get her own movie, and specifically before she could confront her past trauma and heal from it. She went out her way on her terms, but the audience still lost the vital piece of representation that she gave to the avengers and still suffered from never seeing Blackwidow’s character get to heal and overcome her pain. Does all of this once again sound familiar? Women often are the first to get hurt or die out of their hero or villain groups in the superhero genre. One good thing about Toga, however, is that she died alongside another female companion. A well written relationship between two women was front in center, instead of one between a man and woman. Despite that, however, Toga was often used as the sexualized member of the league and tended to revolve around Izuku a lot, just like Blackwidow. That is why it was amazing to see her bond with Ochako, and then devastating to have that taken away without letting the audience witness Toga’s complete healing.
Therefore, dying “your own way”, is only empowering if the female character had already had time to complete their character arc and heal their trauma in the same way that their male peers were allowed. Otherwise, it feels fake.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This chapter was overall amazingly well written. I enjoyed it a lot. Honestly, I enjoy MHA as a whole a lot!!! I’ve hyper-fixated on this story and tis characters a lot, and have a lot of faith in Horikoshi as a writer. I have no doubt that he’ll do a great job writing the other characters in this final arc give the audience a satisfying conclusion. I also hope that I’m proven wrong and somehow Toga ends up ok.
But the ending reminded me of how far writing has to go in order to accurately portray the female and queer experience, and to give such characters hopeful endings like everyone else. Toga deserves to find  acceptance. She deserves to find love from society as a whole, not just Ochako.
Toga Himiko deserves a happy ending. Queer women deserve happy endings too.
Tumblr media
Sorry to be a downer, everyone. If you want a more hopeful meta for this chapter, then please go check out @pikahlua’s blog because their meta on this chapter was spectacular and mind blowing.

Elsa's return home | Theory
Tumblr media
Most of us didn't like the ending of Frozen 2. It got us quite sad and disappointed with how the sisters separated. Frozen wasn't the only film to have its loved protagonists go their separate ways. Toy Story 4, How To Train your Dragon and Wreck It Ralph 2 also did that. These were done with the intention of ending the movie franchise and having the characters finally find their destiny, their purpose in life. But with Toy Story and Frozen, it looks like it really wasn't the end of the franchise and I'm hoping it's because they see that they way they left off and tried to end it, was heartbreaking and not the way it should be.
Ever since Disney announced Frozen 3, some of us have been begging Disney and the Frozen team to bring Elsa back home, reuniting the sisters permanently. In a way Frozen 2 was a reverse of Frozen in their way of having the sisters separated then reuniting then having them together then separating. But if you look at Frozen 2 from a different perspective you'll see why the movie is not that bad and the ending could be necessary for Elsa's character arc in Frozen 3 and 4.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the rumour that Frozen 3 will need in a cliffhanger with Frozen 4 picking it up from that ending, the threat for this next story would have to be big. Bigger than just a prince/ king finding power threatening and killing a leader of a tribe/ kingdom. Bigger than the spirits going wild and causing chaos in Arendelle. And that big event that this big villain causes would have to bring Elsa back to Arendelle until it's over. But as they go through this big adventure, Elsa would learn that she needs Anna more than she realises. Anna needs her more than she realises.
To understand what Elsa would have to understand to go back home forever in upcoming movies, let's find out and understand why she left Arendelle in the first two movies.
[Long post alert]
Elsa's departure in Frozen
Elsa left Arendelle in the first movie because she feared to hurt people, especially Anna, accidentally with her magic. The moment her powers unleashed to the ballroom, she saw fear in everyone's eyes.
Tumblr media
She feared them feeling disappointed, deceived, fearing, no longer trusting her, especially Anna. She had already hurt Anna once and doesn't dare to do it again accidentally. She knows Anna needs her but doesn't want her to come close to her just in case Elsa's fear causes another accident which is exactly what happens at the ice castle. After she built her ice castle she wasn't really free or at least she wasn't happy. She still lives with the trauma of hurting Anna for the very first time when they were little. When she did hurt Anna again , she didn't realise she hurt her, with her magic. She probably thought it had slipped on ice, because when Anna entered the palace she was seen sliding on ice. But Elsa's reaction was that fear of hurting her even the slightest. To Elsa the fact that she slipped made her panic into creating the monster Marshmallow and getting Anna out if here before her fear takes over again. After that Elsa was walking around her palace trying to “conceal it, don't feel it”. Her fear was getting stronger so much so that her ice palace turned red and grew sharp icicles inwards. This fear wasn't just for Anna but for Arendelle after learning that she froze the kingdom accidentally.
Hans and his guards enter the palace next and cause Elsa to become angry with the guards for coming to kill her, turning the palace yellow or golden rather. Elsa wasn't ready to die yet. She had so much going on, she wanted to learn to control it so she could at least unfreeze Arendelle. But after Hans told her to not “be the monster they fear you are”, she stopped, feeling what Hans had just said. Realising that she doesn't want to prove them right, but wrong. But the scene ended with Elsa falling unconscious and being imprisoned in her castle's dungeon.
In a conversation with Hans, she tells him she can't undo this winter, he doesn't know how. That's when it stuck Hans that he now has no choice but to kill Elsa if it means returning Arendelle's summer back and keeping the people safe again. Elsa's fear rises and the chains start to freeze as well as the dungeon causing them to break and Elsa escaping. Hans soon finds her out in the blizzard and tells her she hurt Anna with a frozen heart causing her to die (to Hans he genuinely believed she was dead at the time). Elsa realises that she didn't slip on ice but struck her.. in the heart. She looks at her hands in fear and falls on her knees.
Hans draws his sword doing what must be done, according to him. But Anna saves her freezing into the final stage of solid ice. Elsa looks up at Anna in such horror - her worst nightmare became true. She holds Anna. A thing to notice is that the ice is so cold that it broke Hans' sword causing the force to knock Hans unconscious, but Elsa was the only one bake to hold her. Not just because the cold doesn't bother her but because she was the kind of love needed to save Anna.
Anna thawing, and returning the changed memories of Elsa's magic, gets Elsa to open up the gates and stay with Anna. She no longer has to fear hurting anyone because she realised love, Anna's unconditional sisterly love, was the key to controlling her emotions, her powers.
Tumblr media
Elsa's departure in Frozen II
This is three years after the events of the first movie. Everything is fine or so it seems. Elsa starts to hear these calls, a siren and she's the only one who can hear it. This gets her to feel something is coming that'll change things up. But she decides to ignore the call and seize the day with Anna and her new found family. But as the call keeps returning, Elsa's fear of change grows and gets her to sit out of the next round of the charades game until Anna comes and Elsa tells her that she doesn't want to mess anything up again. But again the call rings during her sleep but Elsa decides to listen to what it's trying to tell her. She lets her power go, creating scenes of the enchanted forest and the elemental spirits. And as her power flows it heads North and Elsa comes to the realisation that the siren wants her to go North, to the enchanted forest. As the elements get disturbed in Arendelle the citizens run up to the cliffs and Pabbie tells Elsa until they go to the forest and sets the past right, he can't see a future for Arendelle. Elsa is given one more reason to go North, for Arendelle's safety and protection. Elsa wants to go alone originally because she doesn't want to risk anyone getting hurt by whatever adventure this leads to but after Anna tells Elsa everything she endured three years ago she agrees.
Entering the forest Elsa encounters the Air and Fire spirit calming them down from the rage of being woken up. Through taming them the sisters found out Iduna was Northuldra, and knowing that they are a part of this culture gives another reason for Elsa to go dive into this past issue that must be solved.
Going further North they encounter their parents ship and going inside they find out their parents were on their way to Ahotohallan to find out about Elsa's powers, in hopes to help Elsa learn to control it and reunite their daughters. But Elsa takes this as another one of her few reasons to go and avenge their death. The dark sea was dangerous and killed her parents and she wouldn't want to take that risk with Anna or Olaf so she pushed them down back to the forest while Elsa tried to cross the sea.
As she does she tames the water spirit, she rides to Ahotohallan. For the first time she trembles in nervousness and excitement because she's finally going to find out who she's meant to me, where her powers come from, what her purpose in life is. Going further into the frozen river, she finds out her mother has been the one calling her, and she transforms into a white dress that represents the four elemental spirits, as the fifth spirit. She then goes through frozen figures of memories and in there she sees her grandfather talking to an Arendellian soldier and she learns that he fears magic, and makes the damn as a trick. Elsa then literally dives deeper to find out the truth that he killed the Northuldrian leader. She starts to freeze and uses her last bit of magic to send Anna the truth.
After Anna finds out what she has to do, she gets the giants to break the damn. As the dam is broken the mist is lifted and Elsa is then unfrozen and drowns through the break of the ice floor. The Nokk saves her and rushes to Arendelle to prevent a flood in Arendelle, then rushes back to see Anna. The sisters reunite and Anna finds out that she's the fifth spirit, she's the bridge but Elsa says “actually, a bridge has two sides” hinting or signaling the fact that Anna is somewhat the Fifth Spirit too. Elsa tells Anna that Arendelle deserves to stand with Anna. In a deleted scene of an extension or alternative to this reunion scene, Anna asks Elsa “You're not coming back, are you?” and Elsa tells her she doesn't know how or when the Northuldra or the spirits will need her but she wants to be there if and when they do.
Tumblr media
She is aware that magic can cause dissatisfaction and fear to some people so if someone does try to harm the magic now that it's open to the world, she wants to be able to save them. If she stayed in Arendelle and she was needed, it would take her a day to get there no matter what she uses as her mobility.
Possible cause for Elsa's return in Frozen 3/ 4
It's understandable but it's not a satisfactory explanation for us fans because we know that the sisters are meant to be together. Elsa was able to control her powers because of Anna's love, and was able to save Arendelle and the forest because of Anna. They learn things from each other that help them grow. And yes Frozen 2 was originally going to be the end of the movie franchise but now that we have two more coming up, more is in them to unclock and they won't be able to do that separately.
So we learn that Elsa first left because of her fear of hurting Anna, but then reunited after learning that love overpowers that fear. Three years later, Elsa fears change but then faces it and leaves again to protect the forest from whatever threats may arise or whatever she may be needed for.
But what will make her return home this time and for good? What will her fear be this time? The theme is always love Vs something. Frozen was love vs fear and Frozen 2 was love vs change. Elsa and Anna's love makes them face their fears and the changes. So what could be the theme for Frozen 3 or 4, going by what we have in the media post Frozen 2?
Trust? Fear Vs trust?
Lately we have been getting some Hans content. He's in the Once Upon a Studio short, he's in the World of Frozen storyline (set between Frozen Fever and Frozen 2), is indirectly mentioned a few times in the podcast which has a theme of trust and is included (and not "demonized"), standing side by side with Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf in Season 5 of the game Disney Speedstorm. And I don't think Hans recent inclusion in Disney/ Frozen content is a coincidence. When we think of Hans some think of betrayal, deceit... Anna fell in love with him and with love comes trust, the kingdom too trusted him after Anna put him in charge, Elsa too when she told him to take care of Anna for her. To everyone's unexpected belief, he turned on them all and told Anna he was after the throne and attempted to kill Elsa. Now, to be fair I don't think it's just about killing Elsa because the council did pressure him into taking this ultimate decision as they could see no other way to bring back summer when Elsa isn't doing so. So it's more about taking over the throne which he revealed to Anna, that gets everyone angry. They don't know his backstory and Hans' did give away much of it so all they can see is him as a greedy prince feeling power hungry.
From what we the fandom know about him background based in the media, is that he was and is treated poorly by his family thinking him as weak and unworthy because he's the youngest in the family and the last in line to the throne. So it makes sense that he wanted the throne to show his family that he is worthy of not the throne but what the throne symbolises, love, respect, worthiness, etc. But he didn't reveal that to Anna because he was filled with frustration and stress from all the things he had to do as the one in charge of the kingdom such as make sure people are safe and warm as Elsa causes the winter, make sure Anna is safe because of this blizzard, deal with Elsa because Anna had pushes Elsa into creating this winter.
But the point is, currently in the franchise Hans symbolises betrayal - the opposite of trust.
Tumblr media
So having a movie with the trust them playing along with because love Vs trust is actually quite an interesting and important topic to focus on, would bring Hans back to resolve that issue with trust. Elsa's status with Hans was shown clearly in Frozen 2. She doesn't trust him because of what he did to Anna and what he was going to do to Arendelle. Hans coming back into the picture would get Elsa generally anxious despite if Anna doesn't seem concerned about Hans or he isn't after Arendelle. Elsa would fear trusting Hans. But if she faced that fear, if she did trust Hans for once, let love trust Hans, it could save whatever is at threat.
Maybe Elsa fears people like Hans being a threat to the forest and so trusting Hans would get her to let go of that need to be there for the forest that has its guard up all the time. Maybe there's a way for the spirits to roam around in Arendelle so the Nokk would be Elsa's ride from Arendelle to the forest or wherever. I hope you see what I'm getting at here. It just makes sense because it would bring back Elsa home, bring back Hans and have him redeemed, maybe have Helsa or have it hinted at, and have a happier ending to what Frozen 2 gave us.
What Elsa's return home means for the Queens
Elsa being back home doesn't mean that Elsa should be Queen while Anna is demoted down to Princess, becoming a step back from what Frozen 2 achieved for their individual arcs, even though some prefer that option. I originally did it until I came up with a better option; having them both Queens as co-rulers. I know this has never happened before in reality and never in Disney but who says we can't have a first?
Anna has learnt to become independent through experiencing the grief she felt when stuck in the cave alone in Frozen 2 and now as Queen making independent decisions. But she isn't really alone as she has Kristoff, Sven and Olaf. This would also help her to not be too clingy or needy for Elsa and know that she can protect herself too. Elsa on the other hand is now alone but in different circumstances compared to her moving to the North Mountain in Frozen. Elsa though isn't really alone either, she has the Northuldrians and the spirits of Nature. And at least once a week on Fridays the sisters would meet to catch up and play charades. So you could say they have a balance of being independent and being social. But is it the right balance? Having the together this time they would still have their independence from time to time because now they learnt to respect and understand each other's alone time while also understanding that they have each other for comfort and to share things with.
With Elsa being called Queen in Arendelle and also the Snow Queen doesn't quite make sense because she's not legally?... royally?... a Queen. She's not even the Queen of Northuldra as they have their leader as Yelena. Elsa is the fifth spirit, the protector, hero, saviour of both Arendelle and the forest while Anna's the Queen of just Arendelle. Moving back home the hero title or the Princess title wouldn't fit quite right.. and perhaps after whatever they have just endured, Anna could make Elsa crowned again announcing that now Arendelle had two Queens. It would also stand with Elsa's line of Iduna having two daughters and a bridge that has two sides. Plus Elsa did say “We did this together and we'll continue to do this together” so I'm almost certain that this time the “together” will actually stand by its definition.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
So to conclude this post, I think that the theme of Frozen 3 or 4 will be trust and would hence bring Hans back for redemption and get Elsa to go home and learning to trust gets Elsa to let her guard down in the forest and return home with Anna making her Queen having Arendelle be the first kingdom to have two Queens. That's how I predict Elsa will return to Arendelle.
If you have a better theory please do share and maybe I might do a part 2 to Elsa returning home theories.

Hi, Kiya....I want to say thanks for all your metas, they're amazing (especially about Yuuji). So, I entered JJK fandom cause a friend who also loves to write metas about various fandoms. But they're kinda dislike Gojo, Getou and Yuuji. Said "Yuuji did not deserve to be the mc", "Gojo is just a pretty face overpowered character with bad personality", "Getou is weak like a disney villain, look how he was easily defeated by high schooler", etc..
When I found your blog and other blogs who loved Yuuji, Gojo and Getou, I was so happy & grateful. (I LOVE Yuuji and I also ship SatoSugu & love them) ....For this thing me and my friend agree to disagree (that I love those characters whom they dislike).
In your previous ask, my friend also agree with that theory (Yuuji will die), but I wish very much that is not gonna happen.....I think it's weird that there are some people who can dislike those three characters, especially Yuuji (yes, that includes my friend).
P.s
Can I ask, have you found other characther that remind you of Yuuji from other fandom that you also love?
It is so funny to me that your friend dislikes the very characters that I very much adore. Especially, Yuji. Like, I know Gojo and Geto have haters for reasons, but Yuji is like that type of character that shocks me when I find out people dislike him. (Yeah, I like StSg, too!)
I'm just like "Yuji? You sure? You don't like him?"
Like, one of my least favorite things haters will say about him is that he shouldn't be the MC and then will bring up Yuta or even Gojo should be and I immediately know they aren't used to having MCs who don't start off all overpowered, or cocky, or don't have a sad, sad backstory and then speed runs their training or whatever.
I promise you I was writing a whole rant post yesterday about how people will say Yuta or Gojo should be the MC but told myself "No, Kiya, don't do it. Calm your ass down."
I adore Yuta, I really do. But it's some, not all, some of his fans that get on my nerves sometimes. I adore Gojo, I do! But some of his fans agitate me as much as his haters do.
If either of them was the MC of the main storyline, the story would be completely different. With Yuji, we get to get to be put in his shoes to understand the world of Jujutsu, curses and whatnot. We get to see a kid that starts off with a positive attitude but yet still had a sense of the world not being so nice. Yuji isn't naive, but he's not completely pessimistic either.
It's not like he's arrogant or a douchebag. And people complain about "whiny" type protagonists (as if that hasn't been a trope for years), but Yuji isn't even that! Yuji is probably one of the most normal protagonists to grace the anime world and he's not even normal!!
(Especially... if you know his family...)
Okay, I could go on, but I won't. I just... oooh, I just don't understand Yuji slander. I don't.
My boy did not swallow a CURSED FINGER THAT LOOKS LIKE THAT AND BELONGS TO THE KING OF FUCKING CURSES to be slandered.
And with Gojo and Geto having haters... ooh, boy.
With Gojo, I feel like a lot of people don't like him because he's "broken" and not the MC. Maybe they just would feel better if he was both broken and the MC. Like some of other beloved anime MCs that people will still stay "HE'S THE GOAT FOR REAL".
Also, probably because he has a lot of fans that find him attractive and some people fell "threatened" by that. I don't know.
And OMG with Geto! "He got beaten by a high schooler". That high schooler had an immense amount of cursed energy and Rika, the Queen of Curses, on his side. ALSO, PLOT! IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN?! HELLO?! IT SETS UP THE DEAL WITH KENJAKU?!
I'm gonna be honest... Geto probably wasn't even killing that many people or whatever. At best, he was killing those crappy rich dude types and other horrible people. Has a disdain for non-shamans? Ain't denying it. Going every single day killing tons and tons of people? Doubt.
If he was that big of a problem... HOW DID HE GO TEN YEARS BEING A CURSED USER?!
And don't say "he was in hiding". No, no, no. As many resources the Jujutsu sorcerers had? They had pictures of him! They knew what he was doing and where the hell he was. They could have been dealt with him if they wanted.
Onwards!
I actually do have another character in mind that reminds me of Yuji! Funny enough I made two posts on how he reminds me of my other two faves. Reki Kyan and Izuku Midoriya!
I'll place the screenshots here!

Dabi is going to die and Iida will risk his life to save Shoto.
Tumblr media
First of all, I have to point out that Dabi is essentially unforgivable (don't come at me, I have a point). I don't mean this from a moral standpoint, but a narrative one. This to say I don't think Dabi is beyond redemption and deserves to suffer for his actions, what I'm saying here is that I don't think his character can be redeemed within the BNHA narrative. So, he either lives and some sort of redemption arc is hinted to signify that no one is beyond hope in this new society our young heroes are building (if this is the case he will be part of the Tordoroki dinning scene in some capacity), or he will die. Lately I believe he's not going to make it, tbh.
It all comes down to the one capital sin for BNHA: inaction in the face of suffering.
So let's start from the beginning. Izuku might still be trying to become the greatest, but he became a hero since episode one. Because when he saw someone suffering he didn't even think about it, his body simply moved on it's own. Our protagonist can't stand still just witnessing someone else's pain, he moves instinctively, he acts.
This isn't simply a facet of Izuku's character, it's his very essence. The first time we see him he's defending a weeping kid, when he first tapped into OFA consciousness he didn't even have a body, but watching Tenko cry made him charge forward. He wants to help the crying little boy every time, he can't help it.
Tumblr media
Sometimes that behavior is self-destructive, reckless and even irresponsible. People around him have tried to make him stop and give him a hard time of jumping without thinking. But the only time he didn't act the narrative chastised him for it. He let Eri go with Chisaki, and even tho his teacher told him he did the right thing and his inaction was understandable, logical even, it was latter framed as a terrible mistake.
Tumblr media
Mirio, following Nighteye's instructions, convinced him to let her go. By the end of the arc one lost his quirk and the other his life. Izuku only survived himself because he succeeded in saving Eri, if he would've failed to save her a second time, he would've died. Mirio only got his quirk back after he helped Eri recover and smile again.
All this to say, inaction, even when logical on even justifiable, is unacceptable in BNHA.
Regardless of what could be said about that particular brand of heroism, that's what the story is selling. Heroism is (among other things) sacrificing yourself for the sake of others. And it's not exclusive to "heroes" either, villains too have sacrificed themselves to save others, Mr. Compress and Twice being the most memorable examples.
Enter Dabi. Going a mile a minute in the opposite direction.
After waking up from his coma he goes back home and he sees for himself Endeavor's continuous and relentless abuse.
Tumblr media
We know Shoto's probably crying there, he might've thrown up at this point, we've seen it happen before from his memories, but here we don't get a close up. Shoto is part of the background because Dabi didn't spare him a second thought, he didn't care for his brother's suffering, only his own. Shoto is in pain, but Dabi's obsession with Endeavor is so great that he can only see the eyes of the abuser and never turns to see his own brother how's hurting right before him.
A lot of characters have failed to save someone in the series, but they've failed because they either couldn't reach them in time, they weren't strong/fast enough, they were so terrified they froze, or the laws/their superiors prevented them from intervening. Dabi didn't have any of this barriers, he had the table set for becoming a hero himself. He was standing right there in the door frame, unafraid, but so incredibly angry and self absorbed that he couldn't look beyond how that scene affected him.
He saw someone in pain and did absolutely nothing to help, what's more, he didn't even notice. In that moment he could've stepped in (literally), he could've become his brother's hero, but instead he decided to turn his back. He focused solely on his hatred for the abuser and completely disregarded the victim. And that goes fundamentally against the entire premise of BNHA
*sighs*
Enter Iida. Because… well, he did all that too, didn't he?
Tumblr media
In Hosu City he ditched his internship during an emergency and went after the Hero Killer instead. He was right there in the alleyway, and he did absolutely nothing to help the injured hero, what's more, he didn't even notice him. He focused on his hatred for Stain, and in doing so disregarded the victim completely. It wasn't until Stain pointed it out and he saw Izuku and Shoto risking their lives to save them both that he finally snapped out of it.
He was injured and ashamed and still he admitted he was in the wrong, he took a stand, he got stabbed twice saving Shoto, he stopped Stain (with Izuku's help), he accepted the consequences without complaint, he asked for forgiveness and still the narrative punished him for what he did. He got permanent damage on his left hand and refused to get treatment until he makes up for his faults. Until he becomes a hero.
Tumblr media
So... they're two sides of the same coin. The only difference is that Iida recognized what he did as a mistake and wants to do better. I think the story is about to give him the chance to become the hero he wants to be. The only question is what price will he pay for it.
_ _ _
When the teams got divided at the beginning of this final battle I was wondering why was Iida on team Nomus/Dabi. His power is not particularly well suited for withstanding extreme heat (or extreme cold, for that matter), it seams like Inasa would've been a better option to assist Shoto against Dabi's flames. Iida couldn't even provide support during the battle.
So why is he there?
Tumblr media
Because there's a glowing spot in Dabi's chest and I don't think it's the beginning of some sort of regeneration. It's a bomb. Maybe it's one of OFA's fail-safes and he will ultimately survive, or it's Dabi's own power and he will die by his own hand like he wanted, but it will certainly go boom. And when it does, the only one fast enough to get injured Shoto out of there in time
Tumblr media
Is the class president.

Characters are not people (and the importance of planning and fairness of character arcs).
A character I liked recently had a very tragic end. He had suffered a lot as an outcast and it wasn't totally unexpected in a way. Still, not only me but the whole fandom got that sense of bitterness, no matter how logical seemed at first. Was pretty much a consensus. I tried to understand why.
Then I saw: It's for nothing. He died continuing to suffer, being hated, for no reason and without any justice or narrative sense. The terrible thing hit: he needn't have died. It could have been resolved in another way. Was like saying: "strange, different and outcast people, no matter how hard they try to overcome and find love and understanding, they will die in hate and pain".
Of course, wasn't the author's intention, but it comes out quite like this. Because other characters in these respects survived the so-called worst ordeals.
Reflecting on this, I came to an interesting conclusion and that inspired me to write what I thought would make good writing advice both for myself and to help should anyone want it:
Characters aren't people.
What do I mean?
Think about us.
Sometimes things don't go as planned and we end up with totally different results even though we did everything right. Or we achieve something when everything was falling apart and there was no way out. Just chance sometimes.
Our characters aren't people. The chance card doesn't work with them because there are authors. And authors dictate all the rules.
Hence, enter what I mean:
As writers, we have to give meaning, motivation, and in the best way we can, irreversibility to a character arc AND how it might sound. Because in the end, if we don't give them a satisfying and justified ending, it's not going to be well written.
Of course, in real life, there are circumstances beyond our control and unexpected events. Both just and unjust. However, in history, you decide the facts. That traumatic conga given to some character or cradle privileges will not be life's work, but yours.
No matter how much attachment, grief and suffering a certain character leaves upon dying or good feelings upon winning and getting what they wanted, it needs to make narrative sense. It has to be explained and not just played out.
Even what may seem like chance in the stories and for the characters will be you, needing to be planned and executed in a satisfactory manner.
Prim from The Hunger Games dying. Tadashi dying in Big Hero 6. The fairy godmother showing up in Cinderella when she needed it most. Midorya becoming the heir to the One for All from All Might. Even if in the narrative they are shown as coincidences of life, good or bad, they are crucial events and translate messages. It's all about payoff.
For example, killing a character suffering from depression trying to have a happy life and move beyond suffering leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. It is frustrating.
This happens in real life, often even, sad as it is. But the authors, not real life, are the ones who drive the story. And if you saw the above, you would hardly blame the event that killed them but the author who just made a mistake and ruined what would be a beautiful and inspiring message.
Sure, characters like that can die, terribly at the hands of the villain if you want. It's your story. But not without impact on the plot, not for nothing in the plot. Not without seeming like that was the fate that made the most sense for the character. Not without having a good point or sensibility while executing that idea.
And if you, for example, kill only depressed people because they might have, statistically, more chances of that in real life as the only justification it will sound… bad. Very bad. Yikes. Stop, rethink, and do it again. After all, we are not perfect and we can improve. Mistakes are normal.
We just have to remember that the fates of our Ocs are not simple works of chance or randomness.
Suffering and tragedies, or joy and rewards cannot be given for shock value.
Because in the end, characters aren't people.
They are a medium.

i watched wendigoons analysis of no country for old men earlier today and it got me thinking of themes in stories reflected through characters, and i started thinking about the themes of the killjoys fic im currently writing and how they reflect through the characters, so im gonna write some of it down now before i forget. im only on the third chapter and there will be at least ten when im finished, but this is based on what i have written and planned currently so i hope it makes sense. the main themes are pretty vague in my mind, but im thinking it will be along the lines of how real people shape themselves into characters+how real events are mythologized, how ideologies and hopes affect people, heroism and villainy, how committing and experiencing violence changes someone, what normalcy means, clinging onto or rejecting social norms in times where they have kind of lost all meaning.
in this post i will mainly write about how these themes reflect in the characters of jet star and party poison (at least how i write them) and their relationship and thoughts about each other.
party wants to be the hero and shapes themselves into that character: they are the leader of the killjoys, they are very charismatic and a good fighter, later on they become an important figure in zones society in the wake of the analog wars and lead many battles. they end up being seen as a hero by many and their actions in battles and other things about them are talked about around the zones as myths or folktales.
the thing is, deep down, party does not see themself as a hero. they feel that they have something at their core — whether that’s queerness, inability to conform to other social rules, committing violence — that makes them unable to embody the ideal of a hero that they have in their head. they feel that because there is something ‘wrong’ with them, they don’t deserve to get the things they want. this manifests most obviously in the story in their romance with jet, where they think that they can never, or should never, be in a relationship with him because they would taint his (perceived by them) normalcy and moral purity with their wrongness and strangeness; however, this is only part of the fact that they dont believe themself deserving of a good life at all.
they are the first of the killjoys to ever kill someone: it happens when they are all escaping battery city, and party ends up accidentally killing one of the bl/ind guards chasing them down. though this action may have saved all their lives, party still feels immense shame and horror at having done it. the night after, their first night in the zones, they have a nightmare where they are eating the body of the man they killed, and jet appears to kill them in a way reminiscent of putting down a sick animal. at their core, party believes that they are a villain and a danger to the people around them.
of course, in the middle of a horrible war, the zones needs a hero. that is what party shapes themself into: a loud, confident, violent leader of the zonerunners to take down bl/ind once and for all. there’s a sort of split in party’s identity, where on the outside, they are the hero of the zones, but on the inside, they believe themself to be a morally corrupt fraud who is going to ruin everything good and beautiful they touch. combined, this makes for an absolute monster of a martyr complex: if they die for a good cause, then the world will both be better because the thing they’re fighting for (the freedom of the zones, the destruction of bl/ind) has succeeded, and because the evil that they bring into the world simply by existing is gone.
one other thing i want to touch on with party is how they deal with social norms. before beginning life in the zones they knew they were nonbinary but didn’t really have a safe way to express it besides going by they/them around kobra and later, when they met, the other killjoys, but when they enter the zones they begin to present more femininely. in the first chapter, party and ghoul (who is transmasc, and who i have a ton of other thoughts about) have a whole conversation about gender, which might be one of my favorite parts that ive written so far, and it ends with them swapping pieces of the school uniforms they had to wear at the school in battery city, with party wearing ghouls skirt and ghoul wearing their pants. i haven’t written any more in that vein yet, but i want to explore party’s gender more in the fic. they are definitely very open to rejecting gender norms, at least when they have the opportunity, and it’s an extremely joyful experience for them to present the way they want, but it still sort of claws at them. to them, gender nonconformity doesn’t fit with that idea of heroism that they have. when they present more femininely, they almost feel like they’re betraying the people in the zones that believe in them, like they’re ruining the hero.
this is where we get to their perception of jet star. i mentioned earlier how they feel like he’s too good for them to pursue him romantically, but there is so much more to that. to party, jet is the ideal of heroism that they feel they should be; more so, he represents the ideal of american masculinity that they betray when they present femininely. they piece together true and half-true things about him to create a version of him in their mind that they can compare themself to, furthering their idea of themself as a villain. when they decorate the masks and ray guns of all the killjoys, they make jets red, white, and blue. this idolization also ties into the shame that they feel about the violence that they commit. there is of course the nightmare they have of him killing them for having killed the bl/ind guard, but there is also the fact that while they are a very active fighter in the analog wars, jet mainly works in the medical tents. they destroy things, he fixes things. (never mind the fact that the destruction they commit is against bl/ind) this idolized idea of jet eventually ends up clashing with the real him in a scene late in the fic, where they have a whole breakdown at him about how bad of a person they are, including how they’ve ‘ruined’ him by simply being his friend. he doesn’t have a clue what they’re talking about.
but what is actually going through jet stars head throughout all of this? well, while party is eager to show themself as a hero, jet tries to portray himself as the ‘everyman’, the regular person in a world of chaos and absurdity. this is how he’s been coping with the trauma he’s experienced at the hands of bl/ind: he is sent away from his family’s farm in zone 8 to a ‘reformation academy’ in battery city, and ends up staying there for several years before escaping with the other killjoys, but throughout those years he thinks of it as something fleeting and temporary; surely, he’ll get back to zone 8 soon, to return to his normal life. he’s not actually some kind of crazed desert rebel like the rest of the killjoys, he’s just a regular american farm boy who’s been thrust into a strange situation by forces beyond his control, and as soon as he gets the opportunity he’ll return to that life. even when beginning life in the inner zones, surrounded by the stranger aspects of zone culture, this is how he thinks and portrays himself to others — or, at least, tries to. it’s related to how he deals with trauma. while party thinks of the bad things that they’ve been through as yet another thing that makes them wrong and unfit, yet another thing that makes them the villain, they at least acknowledge that it’s happened. jet just tries to suppress those thoughts completely.
however, his entire idea of returning to a normal life in zone 8 falls apart once he sees what’s happened to it. when he travels to zone 8 for the first time in years, it’s entirely under the control of bl/ind, unrecognizable from the wholesome farm society he remembers. his plans for a normal life — and, furthermore, his thoughts of himself as a normal person — begin to fall apart when he sees the place representative of his old life destroyed. party is with him in that scene, and though he has to break through all his layers of emotional repression for it and it makes him almost feel physically sick, he manages to explain some of his issues to them. one of the things they say in response is something that will be very relevant to both their character arcs: “normal isn’t a thing anymore”.
jet is soon embroiled in the chaos of the analog wars along with the other killjoys, but he still clings to some ideas of normalcy. whereas party is an avid fighter, jet stays out of battles until it is absolutely necessary for him to join, instead helping out in the medical tents and administering first aid on the battlefield. though he isn’t explicit about it, he does kind of look down on the zonerunners most active in the fighting, especially the ones that don’t show any shame or remorse about the violence they commit and sometimes even delight in it (cough cough, a certain bomb-building thrill-chasing black-haired city-born adrenaline junkie with no regard for social niceties, mayhaps?).
of course, the main exception for this is party poison, because love makes you ever the hypocrite — and it is love that he feels for them, though he doesn’t realize it, and certainly wouldn’t admit it for the majority of the story. party falls for his front of the normal, well-adjusted american farm boy, and he falls for their charismatic hero persona in turn. while he does help people in his role as a medic, and sees it as far more preferable to shooting peoples brains out with a blaster, bl/ind goons or not, he finds his unwillingness to fight kind of cowardly. this ties into many other things he believes about himself, like shame about not having fought back against bl/ind when they were taking over zone 8 and he still lived there, as well as the idea that he can’t truly be useful to his community. the latter relates heavily to his issues with normalcy and his own identity: he’s spent so much effort on trying to make himself as palatable as possible that he’s almost cheated himself out of an identity, trying to appear normal to the point where he feels like he doesn’t have any real good traits or talents left. party is the opposite of all of this for him. they are loud and unapologetic about who they are (or, who they want people to think they are), they don’t have any qualms about doing what they have to in order to save the world, they are the ideal of a true zonerunner and hero.
circling back to jet, the thing about him is that he is not as normal as he tries to make himself seem. throughout the story, he slowly gets more comfortable showing small, strange parts of himself to the people around him. he seems to have taken party’s words to heart, at least partially: normal isn’t a thing anymore. it’s only small things, he still deals with some heavy repression of trauma and trouble facing a lot of his own feeling and desires, but its a start. he has his own quirks and absurdities, his own traits that make him a unique and fucked up person. i don’t have every part of those developments planned out, but i know that at least some of it will be in relation to gender, like growing his hair out and presenting more femininely in other ways. he would have a lot more inhibitions to let go off before really being able to face his thoughts about his own gender than party would, just due to the environment and pressures he’s been raised with. (a full exploration of jet’s gender would not really fit in this fic just with the story outline I have planned, but i might write a continuation that goes more into detail. my hc for jet’s gender in the music video era is a he/she transfem, though this fic takes place many years before that and jet still thinks of herself as a cis guy for most of it.) the point being, jet is not actually the one of the killjoys who is the most normal; he is just the one who’s the best at pretending to be.
when jet and party actually acknowledge their feelings for each other, they both have to break down a lot of emotional barriers to do so, and it’s a large part of them beginning to reject the characters they’ve resigned themselves to. party has to realize that they are not an inherently horrible person and that they do deserve to live a good life, that jet is not an untouchable object that they’ll ruin by being close to. jet has to accept that he’s allowed to love someone he’s been taught he’s not allowed to love, that just because he’s in a relationship unlike the ones he’s ‘supposed’ to want doesn’t make it any less real. it heavily involves them letting each other off the pedestals they’ve put each other on, and loving the real person underneath the persona. that is actually an interesting thing that is true for both of them: while they fixate on the fronts that the other puts up, it’s the real person underneath that they fall in love with. jet idolizes the heroic leader that party tries to be, but falls in love with their kindness and vulnerabilities. party envies jets projected normality and righteousness, they fall in love with the strange quirks that make him who he is.
their emotional journeys won’t have full resolutions in this fic, but if i finish it i will probably write a continuation in which the analog wars have ended and there is more focus on the characters emotional development. it would show more of that theme of them letting go of the roles they’ve placed themselves in: party realizing that they don’t need to act a specific way or have a certain personality to be a hero, they just need to help people; jet letting go of his attachment to normalcy. they don’t need to be perfect heroes, they don’t need to follow specific norms or rules. they just need to be who they are, and that’s some fucked up kids stuck in a fucked up situation just trying to make the best of it.
of course, even with those emotional issues resolved, they still struggle. I mentioned at the beginning the theme of real events being turned into myths, and that would certainly be relevant to the killjoys, especially to party. during the analog wars, the image of party poison as a hero and leader of the zones spread quick and they were mythologized into an almost godlike figure. (this is true for the other killjoys as well, but not to such an extent.) this image comes to haunt them even when the wars have ended: wherever they go, they are expected to live up to this idea of themself that they have long since let go of and never even really fit in the first place. the mythologizing is to the point where certain people who preach about the figures of party poison and the killjoys don’t even know what they actually look like.
there is also the fact that while the analog wars have technically ended, there are still attacks occasionally made by bl/ind, and the killjoys have to defend themselves with violence whether they like it or not. the ‘end’ of the analog wars also brings along some other questions about the themes: how do the killjoys deal with the absurdity of their lives when they can no longer blame it on existing in an active war zone? how do they rebuild their lives after all that non-stop violence? again, this is if i finish the fic im currently writing.
im not sure how to end this post but it’s been fun to write and i hope other people might enjoy reading it. i might write a similar one about how the same themes reflect in fun ghoul and kobra kid, but i dont know.

More Tadc Gotham Rogues AU
I've finally figured who I want the whole cast to be, so now I can get this all out of my system. Well, not all of it, I still need to draw Zooble, but that will take a bit as there's a lot I have to figure out for them.
I promise the next thing i post will be writing, I'm so sorry about my tiny attention span, I just needed to do this.
Tumblr media
After a lot of debating, I've decided to make Kinger Poison Ivy. He's a lot less 'crazy old man' here, although he is still insane. He just looks a bit cooler while doing it.
Kinger Isley was studying to be a botanist, his future in the profession looking rather bright. One day, some fellow scientists reached out to him, asking for his help with an experiment that could greatly benefit mankind. While their lack of specification was suspicious, when they mentioned that they needed his expertise with plants, he couldn't say no.
When Kinger arrived at the location he had been given, he was apprehended and held captive there, being used as a guinea pig for various plant toxins, some of which had been altered to have different or worse effects. He endured this for several days, until he gained a sudden sense of far more people being in the room.
There were many potted plants on a table nearby, and it felt as if they were looking at him. Speaking to him. They spoke of a way to help him, only if he gave the command. When next the scientists went to inject him with something else, thick roots sprouted from the pots, strangling them. Under threat of their life, the last person freed Kinger, only for him to manipulate the plants to stab deep into their body with thorns.
The experiments had managed to work like a vaccine of sorts, making Kinger immune to plant toxins. They had also allowed him to communicate and control plant life, leading him to become a dangerous eco terrorist. The plants told him of what they wanted, of how humanity needed to fall for what it had done to nature. They wanted to watch it suffer and die, just like what had happened to their brethren.
Kinger is more than happy to avenge them, being able to feel and share their rage. He has made his own personal greenhouse, filled with large and deadly plants. Authorities have tried to enter it before in an attempt to stop him, but none of them ever left. Since his face is typically hidden behind his floral army, Kinger is able to go out in public to better find victims who have mistreated nature. His research and study as a scientist has helped him invent many a new toxin, some of which he has put into lipsticks to kill and manipulate more subtly.
He has no real sides, save for what the plants tell him, making him a terrifying enemy, but a brilliant ally if you're careful. No matter how careful you are, though, the plants are bound to become displeased eventually.

Next up, we've got Jax as the Creeper. While this version of Jax is less of an asshole to everyone, as a version of Creeper, he doesn't actually end up joining the Justice League like the original. He was deemed too insane and chaotic. He didn't really want to join, anyway. Too restricting, not fun enough.
Jax started out as a journalist and news reporter, typically delving in the criminals of Gotham City. While he was fueled by curiosity, the fame he could and did get from his stories influenced him to take risks with his research. Risks that could take his life.
Whilst he had covered many a villain, he wanted to aim higher. He wanted to cover a story on the Joker, Gotham's most dangerous inhabitant. Bribing a camera man to come with him, Jax went to the facility where Joker originated from, intending to find clues about who he was.
Once he got the camera rolling, Jax began to inspect the area, using a projected voice to narrate throughout as he intended to publish the recording later on. As he ventured further in, he came across the vat that Joker had fallen into, making him who he was. Strangely enough, though, there was substance in it. Last he had checked, the facility was no longer being used, which was how he had managed to sneak in.
Gesturing for the camera man to follow him, Jax got closer to the railing that separate the elevated walkway he was on from the vat. He stared at the acid-like liquid inside, going silent for the first time in the last hour or so. So enamoured was he that he was only pulled from his thoughts when the camera man let out a scream. Only turning fast enough to catch a glimpse of white skin, green hair and red lips, Jax was pushed over the railing and into the vat, the sound of manic laughter filling his ears.
He wasn't sure when he came to, but he ended up being washed up in the gutters outside near the river. Scrambling to get back up, the world seemed much brighter to his eyes, despite it being the dead of night. Everything was so bright it hurt. For some reason, he found it funny. His laughter rung out in the empty area, until it reminded him of why he was here to begin with. Joker.
Going back into the facility, Jax scanned the area for any sign of the clown, but only found the mutilated body of the camera man. He dramatically put a hand to his head in a way of paying respects, before reaching into the man's pocket and pulling out the money he had initially bribed him with, a giddy smile on his face. At least there was a silver lining to this. His altered skin did look pretty amusing too. More laughter echoed around the large building. Everything was just so much funnier now. Jax could get used to this.
Becoming the Creeper, he is a very unpredictable rabbit, all of his actions simply obeying his sense of humour rather than any morals. He's actually one of the less murderous criminals in Gotham, finding more joy in 'slapstick comedy' than just outright killing someone. If that wasn't the case, then he may as well be stealing the Joker's act, and he just couldn't have that. He would never become that horrid clown. As much fun as he has as the Creeper, his life was still stolen from him. And vengeance was always so entertaining.
The only person I have left now is Zooble as the Penguin, although I will have to remake the whole aesthetic since, y'know, Zooble's not a bird.
I will probably do something with these characters at some point, but for now I just wanna share all of their separate stories because I've wasted too much time on it.

Why I personally like the Mimic (Spoilers for TFTPP, especially 5, 6, and 7)
So, with the Tiger Rock leaks, I've seen some people voice their dislike of the Mimic being Burntrap. I want to preface everything I say with the statement that that's totally fine. There are some objective problems with it that i'll address later, though I consider most of them to be with the presentation of the Mimic rather than the Mimic itself. I just thought I'd lay down the key things I and other Mimic fans like about the character, and its role in the story.
Legacy and Stories
Legacy, especially the impact we leave on other people, is a central theme of FNAF. Remnant and agony are vehicles for this idea- how our emotions and actions can twist and grow into something far greater than we ever intended. Stories are also important, which was established as soon as we entered the Steel Wool era- the first game is, in universe, a collection of tragic stories. The Mimic embodies both of these ideas expertly. Edwin- a good man who had a moment of weakness and rage- and William Afton- an evil man who led a cruel, selfish life- both changed the Mimic completely unintentionally. Neither of them desired the endoskeleton to become a killer, and yet it did. Their legacy, especially William's, endures in this monster. William is gone, but his presence is still felt. The Mimic also learned from the stories it was told when it was programmed into FNAF VR- stories of every Fazbear tragedy, stories it is later tasked with rearranging into new narratives as the Storyteller. Which leads to my next point...
2. Corporate Greed.
Fazbear Entertainment's corrupt nature was always prevalent, but it exists at the center of the current FNAF narrative. This is obvious enough in FNAF VR and Security Breach, with exploited tragedies and safety violations around every corner, and taken to its natural limit with TFTPP. We see more of what was seen before- Fazbear Entertainment taking advantage of their bloody history and poorly designed, often dangerous attractions. But we also see how they use the Mimic. Most notably is its place in the Storyteller tree, used to cheat the creative team and drive up profits. Not only is it a great commentary on how unethical and ultimately detrimental AI generation replacing true artists is, it's a reminder that by refusing to die, and cutting every conceivable corner to stay in business, Fazbear Entertainment is responsible for the Mimic's return. Vanessa, Gregory, the TFTPP protagonists, even the Glamrocks- their deaths and suffering are solely because a large company wanted to save money.
3. A Tragic Villain
William was a great example of a villain who suffered tragedy, while also not being a tragic villain. Ultimately, everything he suffered was a result of his own pride, selfishness, and ego. Going into a new era, a truly tragic antagonist would be an interesting change, but how do you accomplish that in a story about a killer? You make it so killing is the only thing they know. As of the epilogues, there is no true malice to the Mimic's actions. It's just playing the way it's seen others play- violently. Its entire existence has been nothing but a parade of awful role models- a father unleashing his grief violently, a killer playing a twisted game of hide and seek, a mega corporation feeding it information and stories about the killer, while encouraging it to extend these narratives. Despite everything it's done, all the blood staining its metal hands, the Mimic is pitiful.
4. Complaints
Let's start off with the obvious complaints- yes, the Mimic was not implemented into the games well. While it's increasingly clear it was intended in retrospect, there easily could have been some more clues. A blueprint for the Mimic hidden in SB's parts in service, more easter eggs during the Burntrap battle, a direct reference to the white tiger character- it wouldn't be hard. It's clear Scott didn't communicate with Steel Wool as much as he should have regarding this development. It's also clear that too much info was in the books. I understand some of this stuff would've been hard to communicate in normal gameplay, but then again, the arcade minigames scattered throughout SB would have been perfect for that. Finally- my only true complain with the story itself- I think the Mimic's corpse being a random girl is kind of dumb. Even it being the main protagonist Lucia might have been better, especially since we've gotten to know her better, making it more impactful. It being Kelly just feels somewhat random, though perhaps that will be improved by the last epilogue.
5. Conclusion
That's pretty much it. Again, feel however you like about the Mimic, this is just my personal opinion. Just don't call it a retcon, because that's been disproven.

Juri Han.
"Juri... That power... That eye... She's no ordinary fighter. She is an untamed animal who seeks to destroy and consume all that enters her sight...She has altered her own body in her insatiable quest for power. She respects no law. No morality. She does whatever it takes to achieve her goals and quench her limitless thirst."
—Seth's description of Juri
Introduced in 2011's Super Street Fighter IV, she was sold as a darker parallel of Chun Li. She's quickly become a favorite of the fanbase, and myself personally. There is something strangely compelling about her and her story. A lot of people don't really care about it so i'll go into it! On my blog!

While you are familiar with the Juri you see in game, she wasn't always like that. Juri Han was the daughter to a loving mother and father. The latter being a prominent lawyer knee deep into a developing case against shadaloo. M. Bison didn't take this lightly. So one fateful night, he ordered them killed. They took her father, and left both her and her mother for dead. Young Juri lost her eye to the hail of bullets.

As she recovered, and after her father was executed on live television, she focused her remaining eye on one thing. Revenge against M. Bison. She became much colder and crueler throughout the process. Later in Street Fighter IV, she would join S.I.N, and claim the Feng Shui Engine. A powerful device that amplifies her physical abilities to superhuman levels.

Similar to Ryu, Juri seeks battle. But unlike him, she does it for much more selfish reasons. She is extremely sadistic, deriving joy from causing others pain through fighting. She enjoys fighting so much to the point where she is offended when denied it. With a short temper and a questionable mental state, that's not a good thing to be around. She's also very cunning as she is morally grey. She dips in between heroics and villain behavior from time to time. The ying/yang symbol behind the character makes more sense now, no?
Street Fighter V's story actually progressed the story and world to the point where shadaloo falls, with M. Bison's death. Before this, she attempted to fight M. Bison and lost. He even ripped out her eye (Feng Shui Engine) and left her for dead. She survived, and found herself a weaker version of the engine, implanting it herself (ow?). In a Shadow Falls she doesn't really do much. She serves as a side character mostly. Assisting the good guys because it'll bring Bison down. Ryu is the one to eventually defeat M. Bison. Not Juri. You can tell that she's weaker then on due to her abilities appearing grey in 5 and 6.

In 6, her parallel to Chun Li takes the most importance. Chun Li has found complete peace with Bison's death. She wears brighter colors, took some time off from being a cop and is found teaching her local community. Her peace is reflected in her design and writing. She's made it! Juri? At this point, with nothing to do, she... doesn't do much. She's always on her phone, uses her feet for everything cause she's lazy, and eats a lot of junk food. Without a goal she's been loafing around, causing trouble whenever she gets the chance. It's very sad to see. She's allowed her quest for revenge to consume her completely, and now that Bison is gone, she doesn't have much left.

At the end of both of their arcade stories, Chun Li says that she is one of Bison's victims too. This gets through to her, angers her, and the two end up fighting.
At this point in the story, Juri is at another crossroads. It's like we're watching her slowly die from the inside. She has opportunity to turn her life around, and it looks like we're finally on the cusp of that, but she can continue to slip further and further into depravity. It's all up to her (& the writers).
Now that you know this, you can get that all of her cruelty and snarkiness is how she copes with what she truly is within. A mess. The development team for Street Fighter IV wanted to make an evil sexy character that stuck out from the rest and ended up making one of the most compelling & tragic characters i've seen from a fighting game. She's one of my favorites, and i hope to see things look up for her at some point. Whatever that looks like to her.
