supervillain x their super oblivious civilian lover
original ask submitted by @save-the-villainous-cat for the ask game!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Morning, baby,” the civilian yawns wearily as they plod into the kitchen, rubbing their eyes softly. The supervillain turns in a beat, smiles, and then focuses their attention back onto the pans over the stove.
“Good morning, my love,” they answer smoothly, not stopping from flipping over a pancake when they feel arms wrap around their waist and a forehead nuzzle into their back. “Have a good sleep?”
The civilian nods, sighing. “Yeah. I didn’t even feel you come back last night.”
That’s because the supervillain didn’t, but they wouldn’t tell them that, of course. Once the pancake is flipped, they turn and cup their cheeks, kissing their lips softly.
The civilian looks at them and smiles happily, and the supervillain almost wants to drop the breakfast and whisk them right back to bed.
“Another late night at the office?”
The supervillain chuckles, like that’s funny. It is, a little bit. Their lover was too naive for their own good, and the idea that they would be content with an office job was quite amusing.
“Unfortuantly,” they simply respond, and the civilian huffs, like they’re offended themselves.
“They can’t keep doing that, you know,” they pout, eyes fluttering slightly when the supervillain brushes some hair from their face. “Can’t you complain so I get to spend more time with you? You’re always so busy.”
They peel away, reluctantly, and the supervillain sees the playful pout on their lips, smiling to themselves.
“The overtime is criminal,” the supervillain smirks, and the civilian laughs, shuffling away.
“You’re funny.”
The supervillain turns back to the stove, checking on the pancakes. They have some bacon and egg on the go, simply because they feel the need to spoil their lover like there was no tomorrow. They were theirs, after all, all their obliviousness aside. They just didn’t know it.
The civilian hums softly to themselves as they set the table and pour some drinks, and the supervillain relaxes into the tune. It makes them work more efficiently, until they’re dishing up, and letting their eyes linger on their pretty lover easily.
“Wanna eat and watch TV?” The civilian asks, an eager glimmer in their eye. “Unless you have to rush...”
The supervillain was their own boss – it didn’t really matter to them, not when the civilian didn’t even notice their lackluster “office hours”. They kiss their head, herding them into the lounge.
“Go on, then,” they smile, handing them their plate and watching them get comfortable on the couch with a little smile. The supervillain joins them, and they attatch themselves to their side like glue, but the supervillain doesn’t mind. They eat their fill of bacon and an omelette, while their civilian shovels added pancakes into their mouth as well.
Sometime during a programme, the supervillain’s phone rings. The civilian’s head lifts in curiosity, and they answer it. It’s work related, but they don’t leave the room, letting their hand gently card through their lovers hair as a distraction. Not that they needed it.
“Uh huh, and that’ll be ready to use by tomorrow, will it?” They absentmindedly question, their annoyance piqued by the delay of their supplies. “Just don’t fuck up the encryption. It’s sensitive, one wrong move and it’ll be your head, do you understand?”
They end the call, and the civilian shifts, glancing at them with an amused smirk. “Encryptions? Sounds fancy.”
The supervillain laughs. Not because it was funny, but just because the civilian was absolutely clueless. They lean forward, kissing their head, a roaming hand landing on their thigh.
“You know what?” The supervillain drawls. “I think I’ll have today off.”
The civilian frowns softly. “That’s the fifth time in the past two weeks. This is why they’re keeping you late, you know.”
They shut them up with a kiss, and the civilian doesn’t complain. They never do – the supervillain could destroy the city, and their clueless little lover would be by their side every step of the way.

Here’s a request for prompts, if you want to fill it:
Supervillain x Secretary. Platonic, not romantic. In each prompt, Supervillain or Secretary doesn’t realize that the other cares about them, until conflict happens.
Bonus points of some/all of the prompts involve kidnapping
I always gravitate toward romantic relationships before platonic relationships, but I really do believe that platonic character dynamics are just as important and emotional as romantic ones, so this will be good for me!
1. Secretary is Supervillain’s personal assistant, but they also handle the information of many of the villain’s in the organization. They have always been very good at keeping all information they learn confidential, but one day, several of the villains begin to harass them and tell them they’ll hurt them if they ever resign or give them reason to believe theyre leaking information. Supervillain overhears and immediately steps in to defend them, letting them know that their value of Secretary’s life is much higher than of theirs.
2. Secretary is out on a date when the questions take a turn toward the confidential. When Secretary declines to answer and their date get aggressive, Supervillain suddenly appears and exposes them as a hero.
3. Secretary has worked for several villains and it was always very clear not step outside the bounds of professionalism. Since they started working for Supervillain it seemed much the same, until they are kidnapped by the hero agency and Supervillain breaks down a wall to save them.
4. Supervillain just had a bad break up, and Secretary is determined to cheer them up. Supervillain has always respected Secretary but is surprised to find they care enough to treat them as a real friend.
5. Supervillain and Secretary were once both ordinary villains, but where Supervillain rose to the top, Secretary ended up beneath Supervillain as their employee. They've never mentioned their previous acquaintance, but each wonders what one thinks of the other. Until Secretary risks their life to protect Supervillain's secrets and Supervillain bursts in to save them.
6. When Secretary comes into the office sick, Supervillain insists on making them rest instead of letting them do their usual duties. To take things further, they spend the rest of the day taking care of them.
7. When Supervillain is taken prisoner by the heroes, no villain dares do anything to help them. Secretary on the other hand, despite their lack of physical strength and power, immediately begins a scheme to break Supervillain out.
8. When other villains begin spreading cruel rumors about Supervillain, Supervillain acts as if its doesn't bother them, but Secretary works close enough with the master criminal to know their tells. They decide they will not allow anyone to get away with hurting their friend.
9. Supervillain is kidnapped by Other Supervillain who seeks to force their affection and grow their criminal empire. Secretary sets out without hesitation to challenge Other Supervillain and rescue their boss. They may have a desk job, but they are not as weak as they may seem.
10. “I never knew you cared.”
“You never asked.”
11. Supervillain wants to ask out Superhero, but they’re nervous. Since Secretary already happens to be married to Hero, they offer to set up a double date.
12. After Secretary saves Supervillain from a close call with death, they absolutely lose it on them. Yelling at them for being so careless with their life. Supervillain asks why they even care so much. Secretary shouts without hesitation, “I love you!” (This can go platonic or romantic, but I’m personally loving the idea of an intense platonic “I love you.”)

I forgot about this.
Tumblr media
The whole reasoning behind the Supervillain Danny AU sketches was that his villain persona was the complete opposite of his normal, sane self and hero persona. Danny plays into the Fenton name really hard, and ramps up the “mad scientist” bit, taking inspiration from both his normal civilian life and his parents, thus using just his last name as a villain.
And then I wanted to add what Sam and Tucker might look like if they joined in on his shenanigans. To keep with the “opposite of their normal life” bit, let’s throw in some ghostly artifacts that help the two keep up with Fenton’s madness.
Sam would get an angel’s halo that helps her form ghostly wings, and she’d play into the good-two shoes angelic look, and then she opens her mouth and verbally assaults you. She pins her bangs back and wears clothes that better fit a celestial aesthetic and uses all the etiquette training her parents taught her. Manson looks like some sort of regal angel and people expect her to be the nicest out of all of them. She’s not. Manson is the sneakiest and most bloodthirsty one, and heroes regularly wonder if she has actually committed murder or not.
Tucker takes inspiration from his time as a pharaoh. He has a metal postiche that enhances his physical ability. (Maybe it gives him dreadlocks too, but I like to think Tucker is just wearing a whole ass wig.) He wears a strange mix of street wear and his pharaoh outfit, and throws his tech-obsessed self out the window. Fenton is the nerdy one here, so now Foley is the muscle. Foley plays up meathead American bully stereotype hard. He delights in throwing hands, and hunts down supers just for the sake of a fun spar. (For him not for the supers.) Foley’s favorite people to fight so far is Killer Croc and Superman. Heroes are concerned about what would happen if Foley fought for real, but then they saw what he did to the Joker “as a joke” and decided not to ask any more questions.
Basically, the trio looked at their civilian lives and picked out what they considered “villainous traits” from the people around them that they then played into as villains themselves. If that makes sense. Sam hates how her parents want a perfect child, so she makes herself look like one. She speaks in backhanded comments and has a snooty attitude, which she learned from other rich people. Tucker is constantly confronted by bullies everyday, and all the rogues that come to Amity are always fighting, so that’s what he decides to mimic. Yeah, he now gets to be the big and strong protector of the group, but all his experience with fighting have been bad ones, and that reflects in his style. And finally, Danny. Why does he take after his parents and play into the family name? Because the Fentons are one of the biggest obstacles and source of anxiety in his life. Danny associates mad scientists to pain and other bad things, so even if all he’s being helpful in a really annoying way as a villain, his parents and the threat of the GIW still influence how he presents himself. Because to Danny, those two things are far more scary than a kid with a pirate ship or a man wearing a bat fursuit.

Hey can you do literally anything with babey civilian / badass supervillain? Maybe a little bit of jealous hero who won't leave civilian alone?
All up to you your work is amazing have a chocolate 🍫 byeeee
This is choco anon i will be back
Hey Choco Anon! Sorry it took so long to reply to this, but yeah, I can give it a try! Thanks for requesting this, here you go!
Thank you to @thepenultimateword for helping me on this one!
The sight of Hero made Civilian walk a little faster. They were anxious to get to their destination without being intercepted by the crime-fighter. Despite the good things the press always said about them, there was something about Hero that sent shivers down Civilian’s spine.
Civilian just reached their bus stop when a gloved hand came to rest on their shoulder.
“Well, hello there, pretty,” Hero said, “what are you doing out alone so late?”
Civilian gulped, their body stiffening. They turned to face them.
“I’m just waiting for my bus,” Civilian said quietly.
“Speak up, doll,” Hero said sweetly, “I have a lot of abilities, but super hearing isn’t one of them.”
“Just waiting for the bus,” Civilian repeated a little louder.
“Hm,” Hero mused, “you don’t usually take a bus to get home, where are you off to?”
Civilian faltered, how did Hero know about their route home?
“I- I’m just-”
“Hope you’re not going near that criminal’s base,” Hero continued, “I’ve noticed Supervillain’s had their eye on you for a while, you need to be careful, doll.”
Civilian nodded stiffly.
“I am careful,” Civilian said, forcing a polite smile.
Hero tucked a strand of hair behind Civilian’s ear. Civilian fought back a shudder.
“I know,” Hero said, “but you’d do well to have someone looking out for you.”
The sound of a bus stopping made Civilian relax just a little. Finally, they were saved!
“Well, uh, this is my bus, so, um, bye-”
Civilian went to leave, but Hero grabbed their wrist.
“Where are you trying to go?” Hero asked, “I can take you there. Statistically, flying is the safest way to travel.”
“Oh, that’s okay-”
“I insist,” Hero said, pulling Civilian closer and starting to rise up.
Civilian’s stomach dropped.
“Hero!” a voice shouted.
Hero stopped a few feet in the air, turning to the source of the voice.
“Hands off,” Supervillain said, approaching them, “they’re not interested.”
“How would you know?” Hero asked, landing back on the ground, “have they told you that?”
“The look on their face says everything,” Supervillain said, charging two balls of dark energy, “let them go. Now.”
Hero chuckled, moving Civilian so that they were behind them.
“This’ll just be a second,” they said.
Hero summoned two fireballs and strutted toward Supervillain. Supervillain cast a glance at Civilian.
“Run,” they mouthed.
Before Hero could turn to see what Civilian would do, Supervillain clocked them hard in the jaw, dark energy spreading into their skin. Civilian didn’t stay to watch what would happen next; they bolted, turning a corner and running to who knew where.
Civilian hid in an alleyway, trying to catch their breath and slow their racing heart. A figure landed next to them. Civilian’s heart leapt into their throat, whipping around to face them.
“Supervillain,” they realized, breathing a sigh of relief.
Civilian collapsed against the alley wall. Supervillain approached them slowly.
“Shh, it’s alright,” Supervillain said, “they won’t bother you anymore. I made sure of it.”
“Thank you,” Civilian breathed, “thank you thank you thank you.”
“…Can I come closer?” Supervillain asked gently.
Civilian managed to nod. Supervillain closed the rest of the distance between them.
“Would you like me to take you home?” they asked.
Civilian shook their head.
“C-can I stay with you tonight? Please?”
“Of course, love. I’m going to pick you up now, alright?”
Civilian nodded again. Supervillain put their arms around them and lifted them into the air, flying back to their base.
“Next time you want to see me, don’t take the bus,” Supervillain said, “just call me and I’ll come get you.”
Civilian buried their face in Supervillain’s chest, muttering out a muffled reply.
Supervillain gently sat Civilian down on the large, plush couch in their living room. They crouched down to get a better look at their lover.
“Talk to me,” Supervillain said, “did they do anything to you?”
Civilian shook their head, tears forming in their eyes.
“I think they were stalking me. I don’t feel safe anymore. They’re so… grabby and forceful.”
Something dark glinted in Supervillain’s eyes, but it faded before Civilian could see it.
“Like I said, they shouldn’t come near you again,” Supervillain said, “if they do, I swear I will finish what I started.”
“What did you do?” Civilian sniffled.
“Don’t worry about it,” Supervillain said with a small smile, “it’s nothing you need to lose sleep over.”
Supervillain sat down on the couch next to Civilian. Civilian cuddled up to them, sobbing quietly. Supervillain ran their hand up and down their lover’s shoulder, shushing them gently.
Hero’s mangled body was rushed to a local hospital, where it was determined that Supervillain had shattered their arms, legs, and jaw. It would be a while before they had an opportunity to bother Civilian again, and if they did… well, the funeral would be a spectacle for sure.

"w-what you're gonna do?", the civilian asked as the Villain placed them on the ground, safe and sound.
"No one should even get to look at you unless you want them to.", Villain stated before getting up. "and they certainly shouldn't touch you without consent.", Villain glanced at the civilian one last time.
"I'll make sure they lose their eyes and hands first. "

Civilian gulped as they looked around the room of their boss's office, taking in the two henchman on either side of them with Villain behind the desk.
"What do we have here?" Villain mused with a tilt of their head as one of the henchmen shut the office door behind Civilian, startling them.
"I-I was just coming to get Boss's portfolio…for-for the meeting tomorrow morning?" Civilian cleared their throat in hopes of steadying their voice. "What…um what are you doing here?"
Villain's face lit up as a wide smile spread across their face and Civilian gulped once again wondering if maybe that question put them in danger.
"Well, that's not important right now. What is important is that you've seen me and my henchmen here and I can't have that." The two henchmen raised their guns at Civilian but stood down when Villain raised a hand.
"If you're going to kill me… just do it already?" They hated the way their voice made it sound like a question instead of something a bit more braver. It wasn't the first time they had a gun on them or anything but it was still scary each time nonetheless.
"I know you…" Villain stated instead, shaking a pointed finger at Civilian as they stepped around the desk toward them. "Yes! You're Civilian! Hero's 'supposed to be secret' little helper hmm?"
They gripped Civilian's chin and forced them to look into their eyes. "You are that Civilian aren't you?"
"If I say yes…does that mean you're going to hurt me instead of jus-just killing me outright?" Civilian asked them with a shaky breath, side-eyeing the patiently waiting henchmen who still brandished their weapons as they waited for orders from Villain.
"No, it just means I'm going to-ah, let's just say…convince- you to join me…What do you think about that?" Villain released their chin and took a step back with a smirk.
"Why on earth would I work with you?"
The henchmen snickered in response as if they knew something that Civilian didn't while Villain's smirk broadened back into a smile they flashed enigmatically at them.
"Because I know that if Hero finds out about your past with Supervillain…" Villain took a step back closer, leaning in to whisper into Civilian's ear. "they wouldn't hesitate to hurt you to get to Supervillain."
Their heart sank. No one was supposed to know about that. Blinking rapidly, they tried to regain their composure but Villain kept on talking.
"Now that I think about it, what would Supervillain think of his darling Civilian helping Hero of all people when they swore to be out of the life? One might think you're back in the game…" Villain's eyes hardened to steel despite the smile still plastered on their face.
"I'm not, I swear I'm not! H-Hero found me, at home, and they said that I had to or they'd leak me location-"
Villain tutted and shook their head in mock disappointment. "What Hero should have done…is take you prisoner and have you on call, what with all your computer skills and capabilities… bit of a waste to let you roam free when there's much to do."
"And…what are you going to do?"
Again the henchmen snickered, one of them reaching out with a pair of zip ties after being given the signal from Villain.
"W-wait a minute…Supervillain-"
"Supervillain still thinks you're out of the game, remember? They're not coming to save you. And Hero? You were nothing more than a tool to them so it's safe to say they won't mind if I monopolize you."
With that the henchmen leapt forward, restraining Civilian and zip tying their hands behind their back and securing a clothed gag into place.
Villain motioned to leave and the henchmen began to drag Civilian away and out the office door only to be stopped by a figure in the hallway. Sighing, Villain flipped the hallway light switch on illuminating the space before turning to address the figure.
"Always so dramatic with your entrances, aren't you? Hero."
"That is my resource Villain. Not yours."
Civilian blinked slowly as they looked between the two, they realized they were nothing more than a tool for either one of them and they were sure a fight was about to go down over it.
With Supervillain it had been different. There was mutual understanding between the two, a partnership. Never once did Supervillain refer to them the way Hero was now, or look at them the Villain did in the office as they were sized up for their hacking and computer potential.
Civilian was used to being nothing more than a brain but it still hurt to be called a resource or seen as nothing more than a means to an end.
"No, Civilian is mine and if you two value you're miscreant little lives you will leave them with me and skidaddle."
They all turned to Supervillain phasing through the hallway wall to join in with a scowl on their face as if Hero and Villain were just misbehaving children fighting over a toy.
"Smph-vmph!" Supervillain is what Civilian had tried to say through the gag but they couldn't have been more happier to see their former employer.
They also didn't know whether to feel relieved or worried that Supervillain was here after all because that also meant that they had never really let them go in the first place and had probably watched them the entire time…including Civilian breaking their promise to stay out of the game.
"Before you two think any further... I can take the five of you out with a flick of my wrist. And yes, Villain, I included your little henchmen because if they don't release my Civilian right now they will get the beating of their lives." Supervillain stated matter-of-factly as they waited for Villain to comply.
"Of course, they're uh…all yours." Villain mumbled dejectedly, motioning the henchmen to cut the zip ties and remove the gag.
With a rough push at their back Civilian stumbled forward in the direction of Supervillain when they caught them up in their arms and pushed Civilian behind them.
"As you were." Supervillain gave a triumphant smirk as they phased back out through the wall with their Civilian, leaving Hero to stare down Villain and their two henchmen.

It won't let me respond to the ask for some reason. Request from @elf-kid2: "Villain takes Hero's girlfriend, Civilian, hostage. Civilian is angry about YET ANOTHER problem her Ex & his refusal to acknowledge the breakup is causing her!"
"I'm not his girlfriend."
Villain's evil monologue stuttered to a halt. His eyes narrowed, stepping closer to brace a hand against the back of his hostage's chair.
Civilian gave a half-hearted tug at the restraints keeping her in place before reluctantly looking up at him.
"You're not his girlfriend?" Villain repeated. "What do you mean you're not his girlfriend?"
"We broke up. Two months ago," Civilian said, frown curling her face. "He refuses to acknowledge it. The press still publishes mushy lover nonsense about us on the daily and he won't correct them."
"Oh." It came out dumbly, Villain looking the hostage up and down. Strawberry-blonde hair falling over her eyes, she gave a final jerk against the ropes before resigning, leaning back against her seat.
"Can we speed this up a little, I have an appointment at four."
Villain considered her. "He still cares for you."
Civilian snorted. "If that's what we're calling stalker behavior these days."
"That means he'll still come for you when he knows I have you," Villain concluded.
Civilian did not want that.
Hero fighting on her behalf... Strong arms tight around her, lifting her into a showy bridal carry to fly her home in front of the barrage of flashing cameras surely awaiting them...
Civilian cringed, gaze flicking up to Villain again.
"Orrrr... Or, and hear me out... You... Could help me instead."
Villain blinked at her.
"I know, but- Wouldn't you enjoy a change of role, y'know, spice things up?" Civilian continued before he could interject. "He won't listen if I tell him I don't want to go with him. Imagine the look on Hero's face if you 'rescue' me instead of him; If there's public proof that I refuse him. You'd be one-upping Hero in front of the whole world, and hopefully... he'd be embarrassed enough to return my things and stop knocking on my door at all hours."
Villain's head tilted slightly. "If this is some sort of scheme-"
"-I swear. Just make it look like you're protecting me from Hero, and you'll get the reward of watching his public image fall."
"You are a strange hostage," Villain said flatly. "You're job is to scream and look scared, not beg me to publicly rescue you from your ex."
Civilian offered a smile, worn at the edges. "And.... you hopefully find that really cute and endearing. Right?"
Villain sighed, his attention unpicking her like a knot.
His power twitched in the air, an echo of his warring thoughts, or, perhaps, a whisper of what he could to to Civilian should she trick him.
Civilian held her breath.
Villain leaned in close again... and cut her binds. "Alright. This will be fun."
***
Hero crashed through the building, appearing in a chalky haze of dry wall and dust. The impact split the outside wall into a crater nearly a story high.
His eyes burned with fury.
"Release my fiance this instant, you--"
Civilian, unbound and standing freely at Villain's side, sneezed against the onslaught of dust.
Hero's gaze shot to her. Relief flooded his face for a fleeting moment before his eyes narrowed. "Civilian? Are you alright?"
Civilian glanced behind Hero at the forming crowd of pedestrians, cellphones raised high.
"I'm fine," Civilian said. "Villain just wanted to get you here, so we can...talk."
Hero's eyes narrowed and Civilian suddenly felt very small. "Talk," he echoed.
Civilian shifted on the balls of her feet, taking another reassuring look at the growing wall of witnesses on the ground below them. Hero wouldn't do anything to hurt his image with so many people watching. At least, that was what she was counting on.
Civilian opened her mouth to speak and Villain stepped up beside her. He slipped an easy arm around her shoulders, pulling her close against his side.
She fit perfectly there.
"I believe what our darling Civilian is trying to say, is that she doesn't appreciate you, shall we say, ah, overbearing antics since your tragic break-up. I think she'd like you to leave her alone."
Hero's jaw clenched tight. "I think you'd better mind your own business," he hissed, softly enough that the cameras below wouldn't catch it.
"She's moved on, buddy," Villain projected loudly in contrast. "Respect her choice. Isn't that part of your whole morally unblemished thing you've got going on?"
Performative. Glowing. Charming, even.
Civilian's mouth dried.
Hero took a step forward and the concrete cracked under his boot. His voice was a growl. "What have you done to my fiance? You've probably brain washed her! Of course she wants to stay with me, I love her."
"Hm. Is that so, Civilian?" Villain looked down at her.
Her stomach swam with anxiety. "I... No. I don't," she repeated, loud enough for the crowd below.
"Super strength and flight, she's in no position to say no to you." Villain cracked a smile. "But I am."
Villain's ability to manipulate energy rippled through the air, threatening all the potential horrors he could cause.
Hero's attention bore into Civilian, making her want to squirm. "Civilian. This must be a misunderstanding. Come to me, I'll take you home."
He held out a hand. Less of an offer and more of a command.
Cameras clicked beneath them.
Civilian summoned all of her bravery, all while feeling like she might faint. Villain's arm around her, warm and solid, rooted her to reality. "I don't want to be with you anymore, Hero. I've asked for you to accept that, and you haven't. I don't want you to follow me anymore. I'm moving on."
"What, with him?" Hero's murderous glare traced the arm around her shoulders like he wanted to cut it off with his bare teeth.
Civilian flinched. "I--"
Villain's thumb stroked Civilian's collar bone, stopping her short. Her skin tingled beneath his touch.
"Isn't it obvious?" Villain drawled. "God, Hero, you really are slow. Do we need to spell it out for you?"
Villain's hands dipped down to Civilians waist, and then he was kissing her.
It struck a match to her nerve endings, and it was all she could do not to collapse to her knees beneath it. She clutched the front of Villain's uniform like he was the only solid land in a storm.
One of Villain's hands rose to gently cup Civilian's chin as he pulled away from the kiss.
Civilian was staring. Villain, however, locked eyes with Hero, daring him to act out in front of the cameras.
Hero snarled, all pretenses gone.
"I'm going to kill you, you--" Hero prowled closer, splintering the floor beneath him.
With a flourish, Villain pulled energy from the air and used it to teleport them away.
They appeared on the grassy open plot beside Civilian's home.
Civilian was still staring.
Villain smiled, devilish and sharp, and even so it warmed her insides. "You're right, that was fun. Call me if you want to do this again."
He winked and disappeared in a crackle of energy, leaving Civilian reeling.

hello hello please part two of snippet #21??? 🥺🥺🥺
writing snippet #21: part two
When the civilian had bolted from the room like a frightened lamb, the supervillain was unable to hide their grin, teasing the edges of their lips. They thought perhaps they’d been a little too cruel, but the thought of Hero escaping tonight was enough to sour those doubts right away.
They brushed a hand through their hair, pulling it from their face, turning away from the door with a chuckle.
What a cute thing. Supervillain simply couldn’t wait to tease them more.
“Right Hand,” they called out steadily, beady eyes fixating on the silent figure moving into the room. He avoided the supervillain’s eyes, bowing his head.
“Yes, sir?”
“If they try to run, bring them back to me.”
The right hand dipped his head further, shifting towards the doorway like being in the room was suffocating him.
“Oh, and,” Supervillain cut in,” don’t rough them up too much.”
Right Hand left the room swiftly, passing on the message like the plague to Supervillain’s workers. Civilian had ignored everything around them the moment they were away from the master criminals piercing gaze, scrubbing their cheeks with ferocity.
They burst into the dressing room and yanked on their shirt, popping the first button off and forcing their tie looser around their neck. Most of the other band members didn’t pay attention to them as they scrambled frantically to pack away their instrument, not caring about the sloppy job.
‘They’re going to kill me,’ was all the civilian could scream in their mind, panic clouding their judgement. ‘Oh, god. I’m going to die.’
They ripped their case and immediately made a break for the stage door, bursting out into the nippy winter alleyway, boots clicking against the old cobblestone. They could feel the light spew of rain spotting their clothes, stinging their eyes as they darted down the pavement, barely even watching the passing cars.
Civilian was still skidded to a complete stop when a black car rolled in front of them, just where the junction turned. The door immediately clicked open and a man stepped out, eyes staring into theirs.
“Civilian,” he spoke, his voice smooth and calm. “Supervillain isn’t going to hurt you. There’s no point running.”
Terror gripped their heart with cold claws, and they stumbled backwards frantically, shaking their head. The tears began again, and in fear of death, they rolled down their cheeks uncontrollably.
“No, no, no—” They begged through tears, desperately trying to stay away from them. “Please, stop.”
They went to turn and start the way they had come, but they bumped into a number of solid bodies, and soon firm hands were gripping onto them, digging into their skin. The civilian gasped as they were twisted around awkwardly, arms forced behind their back.
They were roughly shoved forward as the man from before leaned across and opened the passanger door, the enticing leather seats and warm air inviting them in.
Civilian’s breath hitched, and they started thrashing violently.
“No!”
Their case had already clattered to the floor, rolling in the puddles. They dug their heels into the concrete as they were dragged forward.
“Stop! No, no, please! Please, don’t make me go back!”
Civilian was sure their grips were leaving bruises across their skin, jostling them around like they weighed nothing as their terrified voice tore through the air.
Right Hand frowned softly, chastising them. “Careful. Not too rough.”
The civilian forced themselves down to their knees, trying to make themselves as heavy as possible. The concrete pressed painfully into the skin and cut open the flesh, but the henchmen weren’t bothered, continuing to drag them along the floor.
There was a sudden pain when their body slammed into the ground, on all fours. Those grips were violently ripped from them, and a familiar voice sounded by their ear.
“Get up and run.”
A hand clasped their own, and they were yanked up onto their feet, soon sprinting down the street with Hero pulling them along. There were a series of loud shouts and the slamming of doors, but they soon fell on deaf ears as Hero lost them in the darkness, cursing under their breath.
When the hero asked them if they were okay, the civilian was too shaken to fathom a reply.

Short Prompt #1067
“Y-You- You cheated on me with my arch nemesis?!” The superhero exclaimed, staring in shock.
The civilian glared at them, cuddling closer to Supervillain just to spite their ex. “You’re the one who left me behind in their lair!”

"No, I simply told her the truth. All of it. What decision she made after that was entirely her own."
