No more questions about why Levi didn't want to kill Annie. Jesus Christ, if you can't see the difference between Levi wanting to kill Zeke and not wanting to kill Annie, then I don't want to hear from you, because you've already told me by asking that your reading comprehension skills are trash.

i. what is love at first sight
it's almost human instinct; knowing which people are more likely to have good fortune. some are simply born with an advantage— these people having the freedom to walk along the river bank, skip flattened rocks down streams, and laugh with their peers. with families who shop in the market together, hand-in-hand with woven baskets strewn over their shoulders, and all the time in the world to live their lives to the absolute fullest as true freelancers facing the rising sun that sees tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that.
but in the truth of it all...the sun doesn't shine on everyone.
there are countless amounts of souls who aren't as blessed as marleyans like megumi. souls entangled with the devil herself, ymir, a woman who singlehandedly birthed the 'race from hell'...which he's never fully agreed with. everyone he knows refers to eldians as humanity's sin, but it's not their fault their biology is simply different.
humans are humans, right? they've done no wrong by being born. especially the warrior candidate he's been staring at for the past hour from a distance. you can't be that bad. after all, you're beautiful.
okay, yes. he has a little crush. he can't help it! one day, he was minding his own business on a walk home from the lab, when gojo had the bright idea of sneaking a peak at the warrior training. that's when megumi first saw you and his world stopped. sure, you were covered in mud and crawling through trenches with a rifle strapped to your back; but that didn't make him any less awestruck. since then he's hidden himself in the same bush, week after week, just to get a glimpse of your face.
"she's a cutie. you've got good taste." okay, creepy.
megumi rolls his eyes, glancing up at his mentor who's the only person who knows of his little secret. "don't you have women to harass?"
"ouch, sassed by a ten year old. i see how it is." gojo chuckles, ruffling his black hair and crouching down to the younger boy's level. "you see her out there? she's killing it. i heard she's the top contender for the female."
"i hope so." his blue eyes are locked on you, watching as your focused expression turns to determination whilst helping your teammate off the ground. "she'll have a better chance of living that way."
"...and maybe your family will let you meet her."
ugh, his family. since he was six, the zenin's have raised him with their questionable values and ideals. as the leading researchers in the modern world, they've revolutionized how eldians are studied! at least that's what he's been told. to be frank, he doesn't care about the right or wrong battle they've propagandized to the rest of humanity. all he cares about is knowing your name and telling you how pretty your eyes are.
"i want to talk to her, at least once." his voice is quiet, but gojo hears.
"why? you wanna tell her you love her?"
he hates him so much.
"no!" megumi exclaims, pushing back the older man in defense. his cheeks are bright red from embarrassment and he can feel the flames emitting from them. "i just want to be her friend, that's all. why do you always make things so weird?"
it's amusing to gojo how his little friend is so flustered. usually megumi is a shy boy, keeping to himself and avoiding contact with his peers; but whenever the conversation topic is you, he seems to perk up...and gojo loves to tease a lovestruck kid.
"don't worry," he smirks, "you'll understand your feelings when you're older. you don't need to tell her quite yet that you love her."
love you?
"just shut up and let me watch." megumi grumbles, resting his head in his hands as you're jumping up and down after being praised by your captain. he wishes he could make you that happy one day. "it's not love, i'm serious."
he'll understand what love means when he gets older. for now, he'll just imagine confessing.
Tumblr media
ii. what is love that is forbidden
you're a lot more annoying than he thought you'd be.
after having been selected as the new female titan, your ego is boasting with energy and won't stop boasting no matter how often megumi tells you to zip it. though he was excited to meet you, his thirteen year old self now wishes you'd give him a moment of peace. instead, you insist on following him around whenever and wherever you can and yapping his ear off with comments on everyone and everything about your day. please, just give him a break.
"uh, fushiguro..."
he sighs with exhaustion. "what?"
"i think i locked us in here."
dammit.
"you forgot the key?" he asks.
"i forgot the key." you confirm.
of course you did.
with an exhausted grumble, megumi settles himself on the cold, cement floor of the supply closet you'll both call home for the next few hours. it's both of your days off, but he'd wanted to prep his supplies for his training on monday; to which you, of course, invited yourself along for the ride. you'll stay out of the way. it's fine, he can just ignore you. that's what he told himself...though, it's impossible for him to ignore you.
it's likely that no one will visit the storage room until the evening time— with most of his colleagues at home with their families, cooking a warm meal with lamb and stew. it's also uncommon for any of the researchers to be in liberio on their off days. megumi's just the special kind that doesn't think he'll be plagued by breathing the same air as eldians.
"mind if i join you?" he knows you're asking a rhetorical question and you know he'd never reject you.
with a small plop, you take a seat next to him. he's used to your warmth by now— considering you to be an essential part of his every day, despite how much he enjoys complaining about you— and leans his head against yours. it's obvious that you're sleepy. though, you never indulge in conversations about your training, megumi is well aware of how overworked you are. he can't imagine fighting in wars at this age, especially wars in which you're fourteen meters tall and smashing through brick walls; which is why he tries his best to be there for you when you need him.
your life is a battlefield and he's the peaceful conclusion.
"you know..." the sound of your voice is faint, a great contrast to your usual noise and megumi can tell something is wrong. "when they find us here, they're going to think i kidnapped you."
"i mean what else would the zenin heir be doing with a titan shifter?" you start to choke on your words and he instinctively wraps his arms around you. "you don't need to comfort me, fushiguro. we both know i'm going to be punished after this. you can't apologize and make everything okay like usual."
to your surprise, his pointer finger touches your cheek and gently wipes away your running tears. "...fushiguro—"
"it won't always be like this." he interrupts you, cupping your face as if you're a rare gem that he can't afford breaking. "when i'm in charge, i'm going to change things. you won't have to do this anymore. i won't let them do this to you anymore!"
the two of you are a mess on the floor, crying in each others arms, and wishing that the world was a better place. "you still have thirteen years left. please...please keep fighting for me. i promise i'm going to save you."
"fushiguro..."
"call me by my first name."
"...megumi."
you're beautiful. he wants to kiss you so badly, but he knows now isn't the time. he wants to hold your hand in public, but he knows you'll be berated for doing so. he wants to tell you he loves you, but he's too afraid.
megumi fushiguro is a coward.
...but he's a coward in love; and one day, when he's taller and stronger, he's going to be able to tell you that. he's going to be able to protect you.
Tumblr media
iii. what is love that is hopeless
"hold still." megumi's voice is soft, his fingers of the same gentle malice as they tend to your open wounds that haven't quite healed yet. with titan steam wafting from the slashes scattering your forearms and shoulders, they blow into his face in a fury of pain. "dammit, i said hold still."
his brings both arms down to your shoulders, heart breaking at the sight of you wincing in retaliation to his force, but carries on. there's no telling what you would've gotten yourself into if he hadn't insisted he care for your wounds; after making it publicly known that he's to be the only researcher allowed within your vicinity after your tireless warrior missions, none of the other researchers even attempt to get near you. he hates how often you put yourself in harms way in order to save your comrades. you're too brave. you've never been just a warrior of marley, but more or less a warrior of all people.
"i've been sitting here for an hour already, megumi." you roll your eyes, swinging your legs over the metal rims and turning to face your very pissed off best friend. "i'm tired and i'd like to get at least an hour of sleep tonight."
his expression is somewhat terrifying. if you didn't know megumi was such a scaredy cat, you'd be intimidated by his reddened cheeks and eyes of fury. it's almost as if he's an inflamed torch held against fluorescent lighting, pasty and saturated in fear and exhaustion. "i need to make sure you're okay."
"well, i have another plane to catch at dawn," you deflect his concerns. "there's some issue i was assigned to when i landed this morning. i guess one of our enemies isn't afraid of titans yet."
"you're not going."
he's firm in his statement. megumi doesn't like how his colleagues take advantage of you and your abilities. they're working you to skin and bones. if they were the ones checking up on you after every battle they'd know so, but they wouldn't treat you with as much care. his only wish in the world is to keep you safe, which he's doing an awful job at as of yet. "i don't want you getting more hurt than you already are."
"as if it matters." you scoff, leaning towards him in an attempt to get him to back off. "i'll just give 'em a little taste of my titan and they'll run away like mice. it's easy, 'gumi. trust me—"
"life isn't a game!" he's furious.
"well mine is!" you're angry as well.
why don't you get it? why can't you just run away with him?
"i only have four years left! four years, megumi! i don't care if i die tomorrow or the day after that or the day after that. i'm going to either way. you don't have that problem. you don't understand."
without warning, his lips are on yours in his best attempt to stop you from spouting all of his fears and worries from your mouth. he doesn't want to hear it. he just wants to pretend none of it is happening, and you're going to be okay. you are going to be okay. he'll make sure of it.
it takes a moment for you to respond until your intertwined in a feverish kiss that sends his medical supplies clanging to the floor— but megumi doesn't care about order, all he cares about now is being as close to you as possible. he's dreamt of this moment for years. what you taste like...feel like...sound like. he knows you're his soulmate. what he doesn't know is why it's taken him so long to kiss you.
but before your connection can move forward and become something more, your touch is gone.
"i'm sorry, i can't do this." there are tears creeping from the corners of your beautiful eyes. "i—"
he calls out your name as your figure dashes out the door, wishing that he was able to confess. he wants to tell you he loves you so badly; except he doesn't have the bravery he needs. with four more years left, megumi has two things on his agenda.
1.) find a way to save you.
2.) tell you he's yours forever.
Tumblr media
iv. what is love everlasting
he's finally become a monster like the rest of them.
from the first time he saw you, he told himself he'd be your savior. he made countless promises that he'd find a way for eldians and marleyans to live in peace, that he'd find a way to save you from this shitty war; only to be the very person to lock you in chains, awaiting imminent death as the next female titan will be born.
megumi wanted to be brave. he wanted to stop being such a coward, but some people just aren't capable of changing so much— and what a disappointment that is.
"hey, fushiguro?" when did you stop calling him by his first name? "can you keep a secret?"
he's not supposed to be civil with you. his orders are to chain you up, inject the child, and watch as she devours you; but you're his weakness. he can't resist you. "of course i can."
a smile graces your lips. it's not a smile of happiness or joy...it's one of anguish and pain. "i wish i ran away with you. i should've run away with you. even though we only had four years, we could've been happy."
why are you saying all of this?
now of all times?
you should've told him years ago! you should've let him know your secrets before he let them change him! before he distanced himself from you and became distracted with his work!
"...megumi..."
"yes?" he's desperate to hear you.
"...i don't want to die."
a thought crosses his mind. it's a scene in which two main characters beat all odds and escape the chains and prisons they've faced, running off into the sunset, never to be seen again. this scene has a happy ending, one where there's a small and intimate wedding with no witnesses except the meadow's flowers. he lifts your veil away from your eyes and murmurs sweet nothings as you kiss him to start off your forever. his heart wants that to be true. he wants that to be true. it's too late, though. you have no time left. your thirteen years is up. his thirteen years of knowing you is up. it's time to say goodbye.
"i can't save you." he's struggling to get his words out while maintaining his composure; and your heart breaks as his promise does as well. "i'm sorry."
he's a monster.
you hang your head, nodding and accepting your fate as he makes his way down the stairs. seeing you like that, knowing what your fate is, almost causes megumi to pass out from lightheadedness. he knows he shouldn't be worrying about himself. after all, you're the one who's about to die. he has a whole lifetime to continue living, and your lifetime was a mere twenty-six years.
gently, he takes the newest warriors hands and tells her what he's about to do. the blonde girl nods along to his words, trying her best to ignore your radiating hopelessness as she's about to become the next you; and megumi injects his needle into her neck.
he wants to look away so badly as she grows into a pure titan with eyes locked on your frail body, but he doesn't want it to end like this. there's gotta be something that he can do to help you. anything to save you from this fate; but to no avail, he's powerless. so powerless that the only thing he manages to do is mouth three seemingly meaningless words as he locks eyes with you.
"i love you."

Armin Alert had the same suspicions about Annie Leonhardt as you did. Erwin couldn't ignore that: two of his soldiers, one more intelligent than the other, were accusing one of their comrades. This, and the fact that he believes in your unusual talent, has made Erwin Smith, 13th Commander of the Survey Corps, decide to plan the Assault on Stohess. The other problem is the cadets of the 104th Division. If it turns out that Cadet Leonhardt is indeed the traitor, there is a good chance that at least two other cadets are as well. Which is why he sent them to wall Rose under the supervision of none other than Section Commander Mike Zacharias. Not just to watch them, but to watch you too. Erwin wouldn't say it out loud, but he thinks you're suspicious. While he doesn't think you're lying about your memory loss and visions, after what happened to you on the expedition it would be idiotic not to.
Sure, the signs point to you being from wall Maria, maybe Shiganshina, but what if those were other visions of yours? He has reasons to believe you're not from here, it's the way you talk about certain things, like the ocean. Not many have heard of it, it's an unspoken concept that few seem to know about. Like his own father. In the end, it was that knowledge that killed him. He overheard you talking about it once with the Arlert boy, and while the Cadet's eyes were bright with hope, yours were filled with knowledge. You knew it existed, you saw it, and you don't remember it. He has more reason to believe you are from outside the walls. He remembers it clearly, it was the first time the two of you spoke, and he felt a little strange about that particular phrase at the time. "What if I'm from outside your walls?" He had soldiers with memory loss, but none of them would go so far as to lose that kind of memory. Another thing that made even Mike question you was when you said "I think I left school when I was 14". If you really were from wall Maria, there was no way you could have stayed in school until you were 14. The maximum age is 12, only kids from Sina have the luxury of staying longer. And you can't be from Sina, because if you were, someone would have reported you missing. The only others who know his thoughts are Levi, Hange and Mike, which is why he placed you in one of their squads.
He knows that using Mike to bait you is technically considered unethical, but Erwin has the greater good in the picture and if that included exploiting you for humanity to gain freedom he wouldn't care. It's as simple as that. Plus, he feels better about the fact that Mike does have an affection for you and has taken a liking to your gentle nature. Gentle not in the way you talk, you certainly speak your mind when needed, but rather how you treat yourself and others. Or the way you took care of your gear and uniform. He's surprised that Levi hasn't noticed your love for perfection, perhaps his dislike for you has blinded his sharp senses, or so he likes to believe. Erwin looks from the window of the office to Levi, their eyes meeting in the middle. The Commander can't help but to wonder if Levi truly feels nothing but disdain for you, he has seen the way his Captain looked at you, full of longing and obsession.
"What is it?" Levi asks, his arms crossed defensively, and his eyebrows raised.
"Faye told me the outcome of today's events. We're going to capture the female titan." He finally says, revealing a piece of information he hasn't shared with anyone yet.
"So that's why you were so positive." Levi looks at him with a bit of mockery, his lips curled into a tight smile.
"I know you like to gamble, but taking such a big risk just because the girl you fancy has dreamed of it is ridiculous." Erwin winces at the harsh words and gives his comrade a hard look.
"I don't fancy her." Erwin explains in a gruff voice as he frowns at the accusation.
"But Mike does. Would you turn a blind eye if I took a cadet as a plaything for myself?" Levi asks provocatively, something in his eyes glimmering with a hint of jealousy. Erwin tries to keep his composure, smiling instead of frowning at the question.
"Why? Are you interested in someone in particular?" He asks, a dark glint in his blue eyes as he sees Levi look away, ashamed, even uncomfortable.
"Tch. Don't be ridiculous." He spits in disgust, as if it wasn't natural for a human to want the affection and love of another. The conversation ends there, leaving Levi deep in thought. "Is there someone out there?" he wonders as he leaves the office, groaning in pain as he takes another step.
You giggle as Mike pulls you through the empty corridors, a grin on his own face. You've been in the small HQ outpost for two days and it's been nothing but boring. At least you had a chance to meet up with your reunited comrades from the trainee corps and chat with them about what has happened so far. Reiner, who's been most interested in your visions, has been asking you about them incessantly; you thought it was because he's afraid of a possible tragic outcome. Your Section Commander also felt a bit bored, although they all deserved a break after the expedition, and if observing them was the only condition for that, then so be it.
"But Section Commander, we-" you cry as he pulls you into his chest, hugging you against him as he leans his body against the wall.
"Quiet. You don't want them to hear us, do you?" He tilts his head, looking down at you with a mocking smile.
"No. But..." he doesn't let you finish, taking your chin between his fingers and pulls you into a heated kiss, his eyes closed while yours are still open in surprise, though you quickly melt into his touch, enjoying the intimate moment. He turns his body, changing the position to suit him as your back is pressed against the wall, his hips hungrily grinding down your torso with ease. The way Mike's lips leave yours, only to plant themselves on your neck seconds later, makes you shiver, a hot sensation consuming your stomach as you respond with a breathless sound. You are so lost in the moment of pleasure that you almost forget the whole situation. This scenario is strangely familiar, but not in a good way. "Has Mike ever touched me like this before?" You ask yourself, a frown slowly taking over your features as your senses begin to pull you back. 'Was it one of my dreams? The amusement quickly fades as a sickening realization rips you completely out of the moment and makes you push your Section Commander away.
Mike Zacharias opens his eyes in a drunken haze as he notices your frightened expression.
"Are you okay?" He asks worriedly, wondering if he has overstepped your boundaries without realizing it. But something about your expression has him in a stranglehold. The way your eyes fill with tears frightens him a little too, as he takes a step back, his heart aching at the sight of you.
"Titans." Is the only thing that leaves your lips, making him raise an eyebrow.
"Titans?" Zacharias repeats, confused as to why you thought of them now. He's patient, but still a little worried, there must be something wrong, maybe another vision.
"They will breach the walls." You both know it's true, he's learnt to trust your visions by now, that's why he pulls himself together so quickly, his face darkening at the information.
"When?" Your Section Commander demands to know, ready to die if necessary.
"Any time. But Mike..." You try to grab his hand as he turns to leave, feeling it slip from your fingers. It's almost as if his life is passing through them and you can't stop it, can't do anything about it.
"No wait..." Running after him is almost impossible, his long legs carrying him through the corridors leading up to the Watchtower. This time I'll be faster than fate,' you promise yourself, running up the stairs after him. This time I'll outrun it.
Running up the stairs, you finally catch up with him, his eyes staring into the distance as if trying to make out the shape of something. The wind blows around them as he smells it, the glare deepening.
"What is it, Mike?" Nanaba asks, curious at the sudden appearance of her Section Commander.
"Thomas, ride out of here. Take three couriers and Faye with you. Inform the districts, Wall Rose has been breached." Nanaba gasps and looks at Faye with a mixture of shock and disbelief, clearly suspecting her visions.
"The chances of Titans hiding in the 104th Cadet Corps are slim." He mumbles, clenching his hand into a fist as he turns his head towards you and stares at you in despair.
"Go with Thomas. It's not safe here." Mike's voice is harsh as he pushes you and stares at you, making you take a cautious step down.
"Mike, no, you'll get away if I don't..." He cringes as he takes your shoulders and looks down at you.
"And so will you if you stay here." His voice is hushed as his bullets move from you to your comrade.
"Take her to Erwin, guard her with your life." Thomas salutes, taking you by the wrist as he leads you to the fly, tears running down her cheeks as she catches her breath.
"Please Thomas, Mike will die if you don't let me help him." You plead with the older soldier, trying to pull your wrist from his tight grip. He stops for a second, his eyes fixed straight ahead.
"No. I have orders." He breathes, a stressed expression on his face as you both reach the stable. Even the horses seem troubled, as if they feel the presence of death approaching. You understand why Thomas is afraid, but you don't blame him. Perhaps you could trick him and turn back before he notices. You put the brown leather saddle on your horses' backs and quickly lead them out of the stable, following your comrade.
"Stay calm, Sonne." You say, stroking her white hair, hoping to calm her a little. On your first expedition, Sonne was accidentally hit by a smoke grenade. That encounter must have frightened your horse a little, seeing how she reacts to the Titans in the distance.
As you leave the wooden stables, your comrades and friends from the 104th enter, and you can see from their faces that they must have been informed of the breach.
"Faye!" Sasha cries, running to grab your shoulder and shake you.
"Please tell me I'm not going to die!" Her voice is loud and obviously frightened, her brown eyes wide as she tightens her grip. You smile reassuringly, pretty sure you haven't seen her die before.
"No, don't worry -" the next person to barricade you is Connie, pulling on your arm in panic.
"What about me?" You'd like to answer all these questions, but now is not the time. It takes both Reiner and Thomas to free you from their grasp, an overwhelming feeling in your gut at the whole situation.

"Good luck, guys." You wave after them and hop onto Sonne's back, relying on Thomas to lead the way. It would take the two of you 12 hours to get to Stohess District, and considering you have to inform all the other districts on the way, it would probably take another hour. You'll arrive late in the evening, by which time the assault on said district will be over and Erwin will most likely face the consequences. You have to be quick; you know. But when you turn your head, you see the first abnormal titans arriving, the cadets fleeing from them while Mike distracts them. Your heart sank and you glanced at Thomas, concentrating as he rode forward, not daring to look back. The flash of images of a torn Mike makes you jump and in a heartbeat, you decide to turn around and order Sonne towards the scout outpost. Thomas notices and curses under his breath, cursing you but not following you; the lives and fates of thousands of people. As a soldier, it's his duty to weigh up whose soul is most worth saving, and for Thomas, yours or Mike's isn't worth as much as half the population, you understand.
On your way to help your Section Commander, you notice a particular Titan, one that looks like an ape, covered in brown fur. He's lanky and tall, with long arms and a bored expression. You've seen this one before in your dreams, and he's definitely not good news. He's intelligent, you know that much, but what you're not so sure about is his role in this whole ordeal, you've seen the human inside this monster, a man with blond hair and a beard, tall and arrogant. You didn't expect him to be here so soon, which surprises you a little and makes you wonder how quickly your other visions will come true. You look away from him to see a horse riding in Mike's direction, still standing on the roof, oblivious to you, his eyes fixed on the beast like a titan, worried by its sudden appearance. It's as if it had appeared out of nowhere. Noticing the Titan's long arm reaching for Mike's horse, a surprised yelp escapes your lips and you urge Sonne to ride faster.
The next thing happening is over in mere seconds, but to you it feels like an eternity. Mike's horse is lifted by the beast and thrown onto the roof, where he stands with a shocked expression on his face, his body frozen in surprise. He pulls his blade from his belt and screams something you can't make out. All you can see is his now dead horse flying in his direction, blood splattering like rain all over you. The stallion's corpse hits Mike, causing him to fall from the roof straight onto the ugly, small creature below him. You scream and grab the controls of your own gear, standing up slightly in your saddle, aiming the anchors at the house where your Section Commander and lover was standing a moment ago and swinging from Sonne, pulling your wielded blade from its sheaths to aim at the titan's neck. Mike's painful screams mingle with yours as the crippled titan bites down, breaking skin and bone.
Before you can reach it and kill it, something pulls you back by the wires of your equipment, causing you to lose control of the ODM. Wiggling in the air, you scream as you spin around to see the ape visaged titan kneeling, your wires squeezed between his fingers as he looks down at you as if you're nothing more than an insect. Adrenaline shoots through your body as you try to break free, but it's no use. Another painful scream draws your attention away from your hopeless situation and your tearful eyes land on the one man who tried to protect you.
"Mike!" You whimper as the titan bites down once more.
"They must not have heard me." At first, you don't quite understand where that strange, deep voice is coming from, but as you look carefully at the intelligent Titan, you realize that he is indeed the one speaking.
"I told you to wait." With that, he grabs the titan's abnormally large head and squeezes it with the simple pressure of his fingers. One of its eyes pops out of its socket and you feel a sickening sensation in your gut at the sight. Mike falls to the ground, legs limp as he holds his lower, bleeding abdomen. The beastly titan begins to playfully bounce you up and down on the string, which does nothing to alleviate your nausea.
"May I ask what you call your strange weapon?" You swallow and meet his eyes. While yours are tearful and filled with fear, his yellowish ones hold nothing but mockery.
"That thing at your waist that allows you to fly." He continues to explain his question.
"What the fuck?" You yell, staring at him in disbelief, as if he didn't just comment on the fact that the titan threw a fucking horse at Mike and left you hanging like a literal bug.
"That's not nice of you..." He speaks, adding a name that sounds familiar and yet so strange at the same time. Your eyes widen as you stare at him in surprise.
“That's not my name.” You blur out almost automatically, making the titan races a furry brow.
“Is it not? Well I figured you wouldn't remember it. Afterall, you did this to yourself, little dove.” Confused, you frown, wondering what he meant by that.
“That's right. You have no memories of that day.” He mocks and lays his attention back on Mike, expression unfazed at the shocked state he is in.
“I noticed you also use swords. Fascinating. Must mean you know that we reside in the nape. Did you tell them that?” The beast questions you, giving you a hard glare, like you are a traitor of some sort.
“I suppose I'll just take it back with me.” Declaring his decision, the titan reaches for Mike to take his damaged ODM from his hips, making humanity's second strongest soldier cower in fear.
“Please don't kill him.” You beg and yelp as he moves you over to the outposts roof, placing you on top of it. While you wiggle yourself free again and give him an desperate look, you take notice of Mike slowly standing up, blade in hand and furious expression plastered over his bruised face.
“You leave my Faye alone!” He screams out and points the blade at him in a demanding way. The ape looks surprised at the sudden will to fight.
“Faye? That's ironic. Tell me do you love that man?” Your eyes widen at the question, and you look from him to the soldier, nothing but pleading desire to save him in your heart.
“Yes.” You confess, your teary eyes never leaving Mike's.
“Hm. Then you leave me no choice.”
Feeling your heart stop beating, your eyes widen as four titans, that have been standing still like bystanders, start moving again, running towards Mike in a rush for blood lust. You are helplessly watching as the beast titan leaves, while his mindless puppets start ripping and biting at various parts of your Section Commander's body. Frozen in fear, soundless cries and pleads leave your lips and you close your eyes, not able to watch the gruesome death of your loved one. Your own ODM uselessly tangles around your legs, and you lean forward, covering your ears. Mike's screams are torture, a mixture of pain, fear and the realization of being completely powerless.
At some point his agonizing cries stopped and the last thing you hear is flesh being torn apart and bones being cracked in multiple pieces. Numb from pain, you turn around and await the titan’s presence closing in on you. Farley sure that the same fate will hit you, you let your eyes closed in hopes to ignore the death looming over you. A shiver runs down your spine as you make out movement behind you. “I couldn't save him.” You whisper and ball your hands into fists, preparing for your own death. But the titans simply ignore you and start wandering around freely, like you are not there.
"That's not my name." You blur almost automatically, making the titan race a furry brow.
"Isn't it? Well, I figured you wouldn't remember. After all, you did it to yourself, little dove." Confused, you frown, wondering what he meant.
"That's right. You have no memory of that day." He mocks and turns his attention back to Mike, his expression unaffected by the shocked state he is in.
"I noticed you use swords too. Fascinating. Must mean you know we live in the neck. Did you tell them that?" The beast questions you, giving you a hard look, as if you were some kind of traitor.
"I suppose I'll just take them back." Declaring his decision, the titan reaches for Mike and pulls his damaged ODM from his hips, causing humanity's second strongest soldier to cower in fear.
"Please don't kill him." You beg and scream as he moves you to the roof of the outpost and sets you on it. As you wriggle free and give him a desperate look, you notice Mike slowly standing up, blade in hand, an angry expression plastered across his bruised face.
"You leave my Faye alone!" He shouts, pointing the blade at him. The ape looks surprised at the sudden will to fight.
"Faye? That's ironic. Tell me, do you love this man?" Your eyes widen at the question, and you look from him to the soldier, nothing but a pleading desire to save him in your heart.
"Yes." You confess, your wet eyes never leaving Mike's.
"Hm. Then you leave me no choice."
Feeling your heart stop beating, your eyes widen as four titans, who had been standing still like spectators, begin to move again, running towards Mike in a frenzy of bloodlust. You watch helplessly as the Beast Titan walks away while his mindless puppets begin to tear and bite at various parts of your Section Commander's body. Frozen with fear, mute cries and pleas escape your lips and you close your eyes, unable to watch your loved one's gruesome death. Your own ODM tangles uselessly around your legs, and you lean forward to cover your ears. Mike's screams are torture, a mixture of pain, fear and the realization that he is completely powerless.
Eventually his agonising screams stop and the last thing you hear is the sound of flesh being torn apart and bones being shattered. Numb with pain, you turn around and wait for the titans to close in on you. Sure, that the same fate will befall you, you close your eyes, hoping to ignore the death looming over you. A shiver runs down your spine as you make out movement behind you. "I couldn't save him." You whisper, clenching your hands in preparation for your own death. But the titans just ignore you and start walking around freely, as if you were not there.
You'd like to scream and kill those idiotic, murderous monsters, but all you can do is numbly climb down the roof, past the bloodied titans and straight to Mike's remains. The sight catches you off guard, and you feel dizzy as you see his torn limbs splattered across the ground, covered in blood. Mike deserves a proper burial, and you'll make sure you find the most beautiful cherry tree in the area to lay him to rest.
Erwin is standing in his grant office overlooking his soldiers after the semi-successful capture of Annie Leonhardt this morning. With him are his trusted Captain and Karl, a soldier and informant from his own squad. The Commander sent for Levi to talk about his health, which he quickly dismissed. After his injury, Erwin decided it was best for him to rest and leave Mike in charge of the new cadets. "I spoke to Hange." Levi rolled his eyes absently, as if it were impossible to have a normal, successful conversation with them.
"Apparently Leonhardt isn't going to give up this shit anytime soon." The Captain explains, crossing his arms as he waits for Erwin's reaction.
"I see." He only replies by picking up his glass of golden liquor, but before he can enjoy the burning taste of whisky on his tongue, the door to his office is thrown open. He doesn't usually take well to unannounced distributions, but this time is different.
His soldier gasps at your side, standing in the doorway covered in blood. Your expression is dead, unrecognizable from the usual sparkle in your eyes.
"Wall Rose has been breached." You explain numbly, as if you were in some kind of trance, causing Levi to turn around in surprise, presumably to face you. His lips open and close at your sight, unable to recognize you under all the blood and dirt.
"The cadets of the 104th are most likely not involved, they are looking for the hole in the wall." You begin, your right hand on your heart, your left crossed behind your back.
"Thomas, the first messenger was eaten by a titan shortly after his leave and Section Commander Mike..." your cool demeanor changes as your eyes tangle with Levi's, your voice hollow as you begin to stutter.
"Section Commander Mike is dead."

Yan!Annie x Colossal Titan!Reader
Tumblr media
What happened?
Those words were desperately trying to leave Annie's mouth, but she was failing herself. Beretoldt is dead, and you inherited his titan. The girl whom Annie had saved from titans more times than she saved herself.
Why you?
The idea that someone like you, someone so...human. Normal, kind, willing to save others. How could someone like you be a titan, and the most destructive one at that? How could someone who hid behind Reiner when she(Annie) was mad do this? It doesn't make sense.
When did it all go wrong?
Annie is no idiot, she knows that to an extent, you were acting. You always had that look in your eye, like you knew something was wrong with what you said. You never truly said anything, therefore she never acknowledged it.
Why did you do this?
It was you or Berthold- why did she choose you? Why did she choose a girl she barely knew, when Beretoldt was the one she grew up with? It doesn't make sense, it doesn't add up. Why do you make her smile, why do you make her feel things shes never felt before?
Could it have gone differently?
Annie wanted to tell herself it could have gone differently. The idea that she could have chosen Beretoldt in another universe, it gave her clarity clarity that was stripped away when she saw your face: fear, anger, anguish, and confusion. You didn't get what was going on.
What is doing to herself for you?
Anything; Annie would do anything for you, and no matter what she tries to tell herself, you both know it. The look in her eyes isn't one of anger, she isn't as scared as she's deluding herself to be. No, she's not stupid. One of the thing she prides herself on: she knows what to do. But in that moment, she didn't. She could save herself or save you.
"Trust me."
Annie- despite telling herself differently- will always trust you. Until the day she dies Annie will put her life in your hands. With no regard for her safety, and no idea of what to do. She'd kill them all, just to save you. Armin, Reiner, her father. If it must be done, then so be it. Their just more blood spilled, more stains on the ground.
Monster or not, you'll still love her right?
Of course you would. Annie is risking everything for you, the least you can do is love her unconditionally. No matter what you feel, you know you're indebted to her. No matter how mean she is, no matter how mad she gets, no matter how many she kills. It's in your name, it's for you. You have to accept it, you will accept it right?
It's just a few bugs, why are you so scared to kill them, better yet, why do you help them?
They're not you. Annie doesn't care because they're not you. So why, why do you care about them? Your titan is made for destruction, yet you use it for protection. Not just of yourself or her, for others. Eren. What do you fucking see in a man, what does Eren have that she doesn't? Is it his titan? His power? She'll give it all to you, just stop staring at him. He's a bug. Not a person, not you.
You still wont leave her?
After everything she's done, you're still by her side. Even as she fights for someone she hates, even as she kills her former comrades. You still love her? Well, you're just as fucking crazy as she is.

One of the many things I like about the Connie-laughing-at-Annie-eating-pie scene is how we get a brief glimpse of Armin's protective side free of his usual self-sacrificial tendencies.
Because he doesn't think of himself as someone who can protect others. Armin sees himself as weaker than everyone else, lacking the ability to be someone stronger (say Reiner for example) and more confident (say Jean) who can protect others much better. The fact is that he's always been very protective of everyone he cares about; it's only that this trait of his character tends to show up most often at the sacrificial end of the spectrum. I think it tends to draw our attention away from his protective nature and puts greater focus on how little he values his life instead.
We see him always trying to get the others out of danger, starting with getting Hannes to come rescue Eren and Mikasa when Shiganshina fell, convincing the garrison not to kill Eren (tho his idea in this situation was to put himself directly in front of the cannons), sending Mikasa off in Trost with his blades, punching Eren for Mikasa, putting himself in front of Muller's guns at the end, so on and so forth etc etc, there are a million situations honestly---and in all of them, he tries to protect the others the only way he thinks he's capable of: by being the bait.
Which is why it always makes me so happy to see the pie scene, where you have a starving Annie stuffing her cheeks with pie, Connie making fun of her, and Armin's immediate reaction is to put himself between her and his harmless friend and indignantly yell, "She hasn't eaten in four years Connie, stop laughing at her!"
(Like, nevermind the fact that he's seeing Annie "alive" after four years, his girl's honour comes first lol. I bet he thought: I must protecc her chipmunk cheeks).
For once we see him defending someone without offering himself up in the process. It's just such a wholesome moment where we get to know that he's naturally protective, and in a light-hearted situation that doesn't drag his self-loathing and insecurities to the surface, "sacrifice myself" isn't the damned first thing on his mind.
How many more traits we'd able to see, both new and existing ones in a different light, if he'd been able to live in a way that didn't constantly fuel his hatred for himself?

Attack on Titan ~Characters with a reader who brings all the dead back to life and rules the world~
Manga/anime: Attack on Titan
Warnings: spoilers of all the dead
Requested by: @happybunny999
Eren loves you very much, not only because you were able to bring his parents back to life, but also because you helped him to control his powers. He'll appreciate you reviving everyone he kills: he'll feel slightly better. Plus, when he comes back to life, he'll love trying to make up for all the mistakes and crimes he committed and he'll continue to thank you.
Armin understands why you save everyone without distinction, and he appreciates you so much for it. He'll feel very happy when you save Bertholdt and Erwin, since he'll no longer feel the weight of their deaths on him, and Eren. He hope one day you won't have to resurrect anyone anymore.
Mikasa appreciated you when you brought her parents back to life, but she'll appreciate you even more after you resurrect Eren. However, at first she hated you because you also resurrected her enemies. She didn't understand why you did it, and she was one of those who were against allowing you to act freely: she believed you needed to be carefully monitored.
Jean thought Marco was one of the unjustly dead, so, after you brought him back to life, he literally ran to hug you and burst into tears. Now he's at your complete disposal: do you need help? He's there for you. Do you need a shoulder to cry on? He's there. Do you need something? You'll have it right away.
Sasha's closest relatives aren't dead, so she doesn't have some sort of "debt" to you, like most soldiers. However, she still values you very much, especially since you don't think of yourself as better for your power and you don't treat others with superiority. She acts with more bravado because she knows you'll always save her.
Connie and his family are grateful to you: you saved their entire family! Whenever he can, he invites you to eat with him as thanks, because he thinks it's the only thing he can do for you and because his little siblings adore you and ask a lot of you. Like Sasha, he acts with more bravado ("Even if I die, she'll save me!").
Ymir doesn't care about you: she doesn't care who you save, as she's uninterested in anything but Historia. However, she'll appreciate you brought her back to life because then she'll be able to spend more time with her beloved.
Historia feels safe when you're on her team during expeditions because she knows no matter what happens, you'll save everyone. However, she made you promise you wouldn't save her if she died, but she'll change her mind after you bring Ymir back to life. When she becomes queen, she'll want you by her side, but she'll also let you go on expeditions to save soldiers.
Annie considered you dangerous: she never cared about anything other than fighting, so she didn't understand the reason for resurrecting the dead. Furthermore, she had seen the influence you had on others, and she therefore feared at some point you might change her goals. However, after she has grown fond of some of her companions (Armin), she'll appreciate you, especially when she discovers you've brought her dead warrior companions back to life.
Reiner always felt the full weight of his actions, which led to the death of many innocent people, so, after you resurrected everyone, he felt lighter and better. However, like Annie, he had noticed being around you was making him softer, so he always tried to stay away from you. Nevertheless, after Eren's "death", he'll appreciate you for all the lives you saved, and he'll thank you for saving his comrades, especially Marcel and Porko.
Unlike his two friends, Bertholdt loved you very much from your first meeting: according to him you were a sort of goddess, not only because of your very powerful and beautiful power, but also because of your humble and sweet character, which led you to save them, the enemies, too.
When you brought Furlan, Isabel and his mother back to life, Levi was shocked: he was a mixture of happiness and disbelief; he ran to you and hugged you tightly, crying slightly. Now he has officially become your bodyguard: he'll always protect you, even dying for you (you'll resurrect him anyway).
Hange loves, loves being with you and asking you questions about your power: they're very interested in knowing its exact workings and scope and limits. They love your kindness, even if they had previously told you they would have preferred you didn't save all the enemies, but you had very kindly made them understand how everyone is innocent in that world.
For Erwin, you're a very important resource, even more than Eren, not only because you bring people back to life, but also because of your knowledge. He'll appreciate very much you resurrected his father, whose death he always blamed himself and whose burden he always felt, and himself, because in this way he'll be able to satisfy his greatest desire, that of seeing the cellar of Eren's house.
Falco burst into tears when you brought his brother back to life: he literally ran into your arms, crying and still thanking you. He already appreciated you before, since your name had already spread in Marley with the warriors' return, but now his respect for you has skyrocketed. He wants to spend as much time as possible with you, asking you questions and being "pampered" by you.
Porko was shocked when he found his brother alive, telling him he had been brought back to life by a girl, in front of him. That day he promised himself he would find you and thank you properly, even if you were with the enemy. So he did: after being devoured by Falco and brought back to life by you, he went to you and thanked you (although with quite a bit of difficulty) both on his own behalf and that of his brother.
Thanks to you, Zeke met his father, who had expressed the desire to be able to make peace with his eldest son, again, and he was also able to see again what he considered his father: Xaver. He feels grateful to you, because he managed to make peace with his real father and his half-brother, and he also promised you he'll do anything to pay off what he considers his debt to you.
Ymir Fritz sees you as a reference figure, almost like a sister. Since you've ruled the world since its dawn, she often asks you for help with her powers. Furthermore, when she's with you, she feels considered: you're the first person since the fall of her kingdom who considers her as a human being, who defends her from King Fritz.

Bestie Jack was not one of the abusive white men in Ed's life. Ed and Jack were BOTH being abused by Hornigold, who was being paralelled HARD with both Izzy and Ed's dad in the gravy basket scene.
It honestly makes me so crazy that so much of Tumblr don't understand the difference between a toxic friend and a domestic abuser. Like is Jack shitty? Yes. Is all conflict abuse? Not by any stretch of the imagination. Are Mary and Annie Ed's abusers too? Is that where we're at right now? Don't answer that I know you'll answer wrong the answer is no but they are bad friends who drag him down. When would Jack have even been in a position to abuse him, presumably after they were both being beaten down on by Hornigold they separated, a ship only has one captain after all.
But anyway yeah Izzy was one of the abusive white men in Ed's life, like Hornigold, who Ed was also projecting his daddy issues on, which is why he brought up his dad in the gravy basket immediately before choking him out, just like how Ed choked Izzy and the next words out of his mouth were "I am the Kraken" Just like how he strangled his dad to death. These are what we call parallels. And then as soon as it becomes clear that Izzy no longer has an interest in being shitty to him what does he do? He goes and finds an angry white father who's willing to beat him up and starts calling him fucking Poppop.
I find it really hard to interpret Ed and Izzy's relationship without seeing Izzy as a replacement father to Ed (after he killed his last two since I'm assuming Hornigold got mutinied. He seems like the kinda guy who would get mutinied.) Poppop made it clear that Ed sorta seeks these guys out subconsciously. Without that context why would Ed hire someone who in 1.04 demonstrates no competency in sailing and in 1.06 no competency in fuckery (Ed's whole thing). Ed always seemed to not really care that much about Izzy, he doesn't miss him when they're separated, he banishes him from the ship, but he also inexplicably keeps him around in 1.04 and doesn't kill him in 1.10. He constantly lets Izzy undermine his authority as if Izzy has some seniority over him despite Izzy being his subordinate and a worse pirate. He doesn't talk to him for days and then he cries when he dies and says he's his only family. He constantly seeks Izzy's approval throughout season one.
That is just how a teenager or young adult who hasn't gone no contact yet would treat his abusive dad. That doesn't mean that Izzy was teaching him anything or that Izzy sees himself as a father to Ed but it is an accurate description of how Ed approached the relationship.

Victorian AU The lady and the gardener.
Tumblr media
All boundaries are made by people for people. The curved line on the map leads to a conflict between countries, the wooden fence marks the boundary of someone's mansion, the old bridge divides the city into two different world, the social status dictates how to live and tries to kill even hints of love between two from different worlds. But there are no barriers to love- it's like the wind wanders around, invisible and full of force. Someone is blessed with the gentle breeze of quiet life, while others find themselves in the untamed tornado of passion. Sometimes, it's the instant blow, like a spark - blinding chaos of sensations. At times, it's the steady air of slow burn, but periodically it fades away like the strong tempest dissolve into the calmness. Then there are times when it's just the oxygen to breath, the natural, essential, element of living. That's why the wild wind brought them together, carrying their hearts above all the obstacles and barricades.
The weight of the noble name of Leonhart was always one of Annie's the heaviest accessories - it hangs on her shoulders like the iron shall, each letter engraving into her skin like the permanent ink without a way to wash it away, dictating her surroundings and her future. But love doesn't ask as it sinks further, right there, where each erratic ta-BUM is ready to rip apart her ribs when she sees the blond mop, the hazel eyes and the warmest smile of her father's mansion gardener.
Their secret relationship smells like the morning fog, when they meet in the maze Armin takes care of; it hides in the almost ghost glance across the room when they're surrounded by people; it wanders in the velvet touch of the shadows; in longing kisses between the green of the garden; in sweat on their bare bodies when one of them sneak into the room of another.
Their love - forbidden by society and blessed by nature - doesn't witness sunny rays or clear sky, but every time Annie puts roses in her hair and on her hat, she knows they will carry their affection beyond any borders this life forces onto them. Only she knows the gorgeous field of roses, the snowy with the feeble hint of blues, he is growing for her and her only.
Armin found this sort some years ago, and, following his words, he "wanted her to have something to remember him even when he is not by her side". It started as a small bush, such a contrast between crimson red and sunrise orange roses as if in the middle of the gorgeous richness of autumn colors suddenly the winter decided to appear with snow. However, Armin didn't stop - just at the end of the plant maze, there's a spot of their secret dates under the weeping tree, and it's flooding now in the sea of roses .
Annie would pick a few flowers from the bouquets Armin presents her with a shy smile while avoiding her gaze. He would mumble something about how sorry he is about not giving her something more beautiful, about his clothes she knew he always wears the best of them on their dates, being so shallow, something about being a commoner, something… Something, that doesn't matter for her, because when others give her their artificial attention, Armin gave her his soul and body, when someone presents her a small flower, he gives her a whole field.
Even when the palm of someone who her father wants to see as her husband touches her waist in a dance during the ball, even when the dull compliments like the script from the cheap novel fly from the mouth of another potential cavalier her father sent, even when their clothes are so heavy decorated like the palace, even…even in every circumstance, Annie wears roses he grows for her and silently declares to everyone that her heart already belongs to someone. All these gallants would say her eyes are the sky, the ocean, the lake, the winter…but only her Armin knows the truest color of her eyes.
"The moonlight crystal", he says in a lazy whisper, brushing some wet strands from her flushed face. Her bare frame shines in the silky haze of the night, breaking through the window of his small cabin at the end of the mansion yard, and the smile, her genuine one, adorns her face with the sensible lace of her sincere affection. And when someone at the ball would ask about the name of the roses in her hair, Annie would tilt her chin, a proud smile would curve her lips, and the words, full of adoration and respect, would fly like petals,
"The moonlight crystal".

I feel sad so hit me with your most silly and most absurd spg hc /facts
@6early--human
From the Patreon Q&A: Zer0's biggest fear is the unknown, which is basically everything because he doesn't know a lot, but once he knows what it is he's okay.
His favorite game is Mortal Combat. He feels really bad and apologizes frequently every time he kills someone but he is CRAZY good at the game. The other robots have to ask him if they can win.
But take that with a grain of salt since they were making up all that stuff on the spot
AS FOR HEADCANONS
I like to think that sometimes when the bots want to mess with The Spine, they like to steal his head and run off with it. The Spine has to chase them down with his body (since it's still functional) but he only has eyes on his head, so he has a very difficult time navigating. He runs into stuff frequently. That's what the others do it for. Usually, someone like Peter or Annie has to shut it down.
Not really MY headcanon (as in I don't COMPLETELY hc it) but I like to think that Spine's vision highkey SUCKS. He often relies on bright lights to get around. That's why he couldn't find Zer0 Rabbit OR GG when they were literally right in front of him. (Rabbit and GG were hiding behind Zer0. Zer0 covered his eyes) Also why he saw stage lights and his instant thought was "sunset". And why he has to look so closely at the setlist. He doesn't realize his optics are bad though. He thinks that's normal.
The robots like to play hide and seek with him a lot because they know he sucks at it.
The robots often get scolded for playing. Not because they are playing, but because when they're running around the manor with all their weight, it makes the most obnoxious thumping sound imaginable. Like, have you ever been to a place where kids were upstairs and you were downstairs? You know how much noise they make? Now imagine that but 10x worse. The idea is so funny to me for some reason because how could you not know when they are playing.
The Jon has plenty of storage in his house. Plenty of drawers, cabinets, and cupboards. But they're all filled with little drawings he's made. (Or gravy) He's not the best at drawing, but he keeps doing it. If you go to Biscuit Town and ask him for some government papers, you're going to have to give him a minute, because he does NOT sort his papers. Sometimes he'll get distracted partway through the search to show off a random doodle he made one time.
Also The Jon wants Weird Al to be his dad.
If Upgrade gets a phone call, and she doesn't like the conversation, she will simply say "Bye-bye" and hang up. She doesn't care if you're a spam call or if you're Commander Cosmo himself. She holds no priorities. It's complicated though because it's not really about whether or not you're having a good conversation with her, it's whether or not she's enjoying herself. If you want to have a serious conversation with her, you'll have to sprinkle in that seriousness throughout the call instead of focusing on it. Essentially, you want to call Upgrade? Then be prepared to put on a show.
Sometimes, when Zer0 sees an animal he thinks is really precious, he starts crying. You've heard of cute aggression, now get ready for cute depression.
Hatchworth likes to use portals to jumpscare people sometimes.
Rabbit and Upgrade sometimes decide to target a random bot and then yassify them. The others have caught on to this, and are now super weary of Rabbit and Upgrade being together when the victim is alone.

do you happen to have any andromeda and teddy headcanons?♧
finally getting around to answer this! (I apologize, the end of the semester is killing me and asks like this always take a while to answer):
Andromeda & Teddy head canons - keeping it canon compliant here:
Teddy is all the color and light in Andromeda's life after Tonks dies. If it wasn't for Teddy, Andromeda wouldn't have had anyone to live for.
Andromeda dresses Teddy in a lot of Tonks's old clothes. Tonks was a bit of a "tomboy" and didn't like frilly things, so they work great for her son. It brings Andromeda so much joy to see another little Metamorphmagus running around in the same clothes.
Andromeda takes Teddy to his parents' grave every week in the first year after they die. She tells her daughter and son in law everything that Teddy is doing. Eventually, Teddy is able to tell them himself.
As Teddy grows and life gets busier, Andromeda and Teddy visit once a month. They always visit for birthdays and holidays.
Andromeda accidentally calls Teddy "Nymphadora" whenever his hair is pink. At first, it makes her sob when she realizes she's addressing her grandson and not her daughter, but eventually she makes peace with it.
The same thing happens when Teddy decides to look like a young version of Ted Tonks.
When Teddy is little he doesn't understand why his Gran cries when he morphs to look like his mother or grandfather.
Teddy is clumsy like Tonks. Andromeda is very well prepared for a clumsy Metamorphmagus and heals him quickly. She cries when their accidents are similar, or they run into the same obstacles in the house.
Teddy is quieter than Tonks. He broods when he's angry, like Remus. Andromeda tries very hard (and often fails) not to lose her patience with him. She hates the passive-aggressiveness that Teddy inherits from Remus.
Teddy is easier to teach than Tonks. Teddy has much better manners than Tonks did, despite his clumsiness. His penmanship is outstanding and he's well behaved enough to be a prefect and Head Boy. Andromeda is one proud grandmother.
Andromeda is careful when speaking about Remus. She had a somewhat strained relationship with him and tries to highlight the better aspects of him to Teddy.
Teddy picks up on these veiled comments as he gets older. He comes to understand his father was a flawed, but good man who loved him.
Andromeda is Teddy's mother and father. Harry was his godfather, but Andromeda was there at all hours of night, all the tantrums, and all the pain. Harry helped, but Andromeda is Teddy's #1 parent and grandparent in one.
Andromeda never remarries. Her life revolves around Teddy and rebuilding herself after the war. She makes friends with Molly and becomes a great aunt to the many Weasley grandchildren.
Andromeda misses Teddy greatly when he goes to Hogwarts or whenever he visits Harry, but she wants him to be happy and thrive. Andromeda helps with the Weasley grandkids, especially the Potter-Weasley grandchildren.
Just like Molly took a role in Harry's life, Andromeda does too. Andromeda becomes like a pseudo grandmother to the Potter-Weasley kids, but is more like a great aunt to the other Weasley grandchildren.
Teddy and Andromeda go through stages of grief together as Teddy grows up. It's hard for Teddy not to be grief-stricken on holidays like Mother's Day and Father's Day. He has his grandmother and godfather, but it's not the same as his mother and father. It's a struggle he eventually finds some peace with.
When Teddy brings Victoire home, Andromeda teases them by saying she's too young to be a great grandmother.
When she DOES become a great grandmother to a baby girl, called Andromeda Fleur, she's over the moon. Little Annie is later joined by Dora Victoire, and finally by Remus William.
When Andromeda finally dies, her funeral is huge - as big as Remus and Tonks's. Andromeda's social circle became so large through Teddy and she's remembered, loved, and celebrated by many people.
Later, when Teddy is dying, it's not his parents who he sees on his deathbed, but his beloved grandmother. She brings him home and welcomes him to the afterlife.

In the War Continuation Timeline, how's everyone doing? The Autobots have a couple of advantages, the Deception are conquering more land, Megatron is high as a satellite, Breakdown's "dead " Arachnia wishes she was dead, and Dreadwing is questioning his life choices.
Part 13: Dreadwing's role
So there's definitely a lot going on that I had to review, but lets get into it.
So, first thing's first, Megatron is obviously pissed off at the fact that a bunch of humans took down the Nemesis. Not to mention Breakdown is considered deceased. A few vehicons ended up getting killed in the process. RIP to them. But Megatron's pride and ego are definitely bruised. And he decides to resort to drastic counter measures. AKA, he's going to infect the power of the titans with dark energon and start using that link to force Zeke Jaeger and Bertholdt Hoover to do his bidding. Despite protest from Knockout, Megatron doesn't listen. Annie is still in her crystal prison and the Decepticons still can't get her out without killing her. Zeke Jaeger gets dark energon injected in his body and Megatron tries to command him to do his bidding, but there's resistance. Despite Zeke Jaeger being of royal blood, there's still resistance and not complete control. It's frustrating him! Why! Soundwave reveals some additional scouting that Lazerbeak did on the island, including spotting Arcee and Hanji talking about their torture of Airachnid. (Part of Airachnid's torture was happening around the same time the people from Marley came to the island). And they hear Eren's name being dropped along with the information Airachnid gathered about him being the holder of the Founding Titan.
That intel, makes Eren Jaeger a high priority target for the Decepticons and they intend to attack the island. However, Megatron doesn't want to just groundbridge his forces there, knowing that the Autobots and Optimus were there. Meaning he needed to get his ship up and running. (He's going to inject it with dark energon, but that plot line will be addressed for another ask because I still need to think about it!)
Meanwhile on the island, the Autobots and the Survey Corps are concerned about the Survey Corp members that jumped onto the Nemesis to get Bertholdt and Annie back. (Mikasa, Jean, Historia, Ymir, and Mike (who is now deceased. Killed by Soundwave when the Nemesis crash landed)). So the island has to divide resources. Because they don't have a groundbridge, there's recommendation that some of the Survey Corps and Autobots that can fit on the ship the Marleyans came in, use that same ship to go back to the mainland. Eren practically begs to go because he doesn't want to see Mikasa or any of his other comrades get hurt. Marco just got his friend Jean back; he doesn't want him to die. And then there's also the risk of Megatron using the power of the titans to his benefit.
So they are able to test the ship's support and see that it is able to support both Arcee and Bumblebee, so they are tasked with protecting the team while the other Autobots remain on the island. Erwin, assuming that an attack from the Decepticons on the island will be imminent suggests that Eren does go on this exposition. If Megatron's target is ultimately him, Eren will be a lot harder to find if he's off the island and on the mainland. Along with Eren goes Marco, Sasha, Armin, Petra, Oluo, Levi, Porco, Pieck, and Yelena since they know the layout of Marley. Everyone else stays behind to bolster defenses on the island. And Hanji gives everyone experimental weapons to try out with Ratchet's careful instructions.
Meanwhile, after Mikasa and Jean crashed after the ship fell, they are found by Kenshin's team and taken back to the underground facilities where Kenshin and Lara are. Mikasa and Jean are naturally on edge when they wake up, and the soldiers are surprised to see the weapons on Mikasa and Jean, but Kenshin introduces himself and explains who he is, who Lara is, and their situation. He asks Mikasa and Jean their stories, and they explain how they were on Megatron's ship with others before taking it down. Everyone is stunned at that. How did humans managed to take down the floating ship? How did they even get on the ship in the first place? Jean explains they got on the ship through the groundbridge from the Walls, but they still didn't know how bad the treatment of the Eldians are on the outside. So once the soldiers hear that, they immediately turn their weapons on Mikasa and Jean, calling them devils. Kenshin quickly has to try and calm them down, considering the fact that they just created the biggest advantage they could ever hope for! The soldiers are still suspicious, but Kenshin notices Mikasa's bandage is gone, revealing the Azumabito crest. Kenshin remembers his history about the original heir to the throne being lost during the fall of the Eldian Empire, and he quickly realizes who Mikasa is. He grabs her wrist and shows the mark to everyone else, demanding they stand down and listen to their empress. Kenshin uses his knowledge to force the soldiers to back off, but Mikasa and Jean are floored. Mikasa's royalty?
Kenshin asks the two of them for more details about the Decepticon ship as he gives a tour of their underground base while also introducing them to the creator behind it, Lara Tybur. They explain they were trying to stop the Decepticons from taking titan shifters in their custody, but weren't able to retrieve Annie or Bertholdt from the Decepticons. They had lost their squad leader and the Jaws Titan was currently missing in action, jumping off the ship and into the water.
Mikasa explains that they need to get back to the island and to their comrades. The Autobots would know how to stop Megatron-!
"Autobots?!" Lara and Kenshin yelled.
"Yes?!" Jean exclaimed in surprise at their outburst.
"Is there an Optimus Prime there?!" Kenshin begged.
"How do you know that name?!" Mikasa demanded.
Lara and Kenshin nod to each other and show them where they are keeping Starscream, which gets them on the offensive. Kenshin explains he's being cooperative for now, but the Emperor and the War Hammer Titan have never been so full of hope before. Meanwhile, Starscream is annoyed as hell at the optimism in the room.
Ymir and Historia would probably run into Colt and Breakdown. Meanwhile Wheeljack, Ultra Magnus, and Smokescreen are still on Earth trying to hash stuff out.
(There's a lot to cover and address in the War Timeline considering the many plot points but I hope this was adequate.)

A Personal Reflection On Gunnerkrigg Court (by @kestrelknight)
I started reading Gunnerkrigg Court at least by the time of Chapter 20. I was in elementary school, and obsessed with a number of webcomics. Gunnerkrigg Court was among the two that I persisted in reading up into college. It has been a foundational piece of media for me; it was one of my models for good visual storytelling, for pacing, for mystery and atmosphere, for kitchen-sink fantasy. I even made a single page of a comic in middle school, heavily based on the "spooky magic girl in abandoned industrial setting" concept. I loved it.
I wouldn't care about Gunnerkrigg Court so much if I hadn't loved it for so long. I wouldn't be this frustrated, and hurt by the comic, if I hadn't loved it for so long, so much.
There were always a few little bits that made me uncomfortable in the comic, though I had difficulty articulating it- mostly the way young girls wound up being sexualized, or having romantic teases with older men (humans or magic wolves). None of it ever really impacted my enjoyment of the comic; I tried not to dwell on it. While I was frustrated by Annie's perpetual tolerance for her father's neglect, I assumed this was just the beginning of her character arc- that the point would be her coming to process and reckon with the fact that he had not treated her well, and that she was allowed to be angry about it.
The point at which I started having misgivings came at the same place as for many people: The Tree. This chapter hit me very hard, and very personally. I've never been in a situation similar to Annie's. I have been in situations similar to Kat. I was so affected by each individual update, I read more than the top comments- and was deeply disturbed by how many people tried to justify Tony's behavior, especially as comeuppance for Annie for cheating. From that point on, the comic was a source of stress and worry for me. I bore with it, because I loved it, and had faith that Tom would deliver catharsis at some point- that there was a point to all this, that he had something to say about the nature of neglectful and abusive parental relationships. He was writing one, after all.
Annie and the Fire meant so much to me, as someone who's struggled with anger, and a desire to please and placate others, to the point of struggling deeply with dissociation for years. It resonated with me to the point of being hard to read; but I kept with it, and accepted that Annie's journey wasn't done yet. Tony's remorse did very little for me, but it didn't kill my hope in Annie's development. Just because Tony feels bad doesn't negate what he's done, and what he's failed to do. That's obvious. I waited longer.
The moment where Kat suddenly turned face and decided Tony wasn't so bad a guy after all caught me completely off-guard. It felt like a betrayal- and I thought that was the point, that Annie's astonishment at this character change was the point. That now, Annie couldn't offload her own resentment onto Kat- she could no longer rely on someone else to get mad on her behalf. I hoped she would try to convince Kat, even indirectly, of why she should still be mad at Tony, and so come to realize she herself was still angry at him. Something. It didn't happen- but I was willing to wait. Tom had unfolded an incredible, dynamic slow-burn of a story for years and years. I had faith in him.
The second point came with Loup's arrival. Ysengrim and Coyote were some of the best characters in the comic, characters that had defined the dually humorous and sinister tone of the world. To have them both killed off, and replaced by a worse-designed, boring, Chaotic Stupid deviantart wolf without even the honesty of a glitter and rainbow color scheme? Yeah, hated it. The way the plot bucked and heaved, gaining and shedding momentum just as fast did not do it any favors.
I think I stopped reading during the Two Annies arc. I've never been a fan of stories that introduce time-travel or multiple universes late in the story, so it was never going to be to my taste. Combined with Loup, it just felt like the comic was off the rails. And since the plot was all over the place, there was little motivation for me to keep. waiting. To keep putting myself through this constant anxiety, reading every individual update- waiting to see if Annie's relationship with her dad would ever have the pay-off I wanted.
I was nervous it wouldn't come. I really couldn't tell, at this point, what Tom's intent was. But I didn't want to make assumptions prematurely. This was a story told a page at a time; it would be silly to get upset over a narrative resolution that wasn't even going to happen! But I realized that it was doing me no good to keep waiting around for the story to end, one way or another. I stopped reading sometime around 2019, having read for maybe a decade.
There was another layer to my discomfort with the comic, one more related to real life events and relationships. To put it bluntly, the main other GC reader I knew IRL agreed with Tom's framing: Annie was immature, headstrong, and was facing the just repercussions for her actions. Not in those exact words, but close enough in sentiment. I didn't have anyone else in my life to discuss the comic with. I was getting old enough that while I could see how Annie had made mistakes, and was a flawed, messy person- she was also a child, surrounded by uncaring or passive adults, in an uncaring system, constantly reprimanded for taking matters into her own hands while also burdened with immense responsibility. She was treated like a kid while being expected to act like an adult. There were very few adults in Gunnerkrigg Court that I could even like anymore. Even the kind ones frustrated me by their inaction. Obviously, you don't need to like the characters in a story to enjoy the story, but it did stop me from enjoying GC. I realize now that it was because the framing was leaning more and more into Annie being the problem, not the system and adults around her. Which, is horsepiss.
Every now and then I came back, and read several chapters in one go. It was a disappointment pretty much every time. Something felt off, and the parts of the comic I cared about weren't really the main focus. I dropped it again, picked it up, dropped it. There are still whole chapters of the comic I've not read, or only skimmed through. My family owns the first four volumes of the comic, some of which are coming loose at the binding for being handled so often. I've barely reread anything past The Tree.
Some point a few months ago, I was stewing over the comic again, and wanted to see if people on tumblr were talking about it at all. I found some fanart, and one or two critical posts that validated my feelings. I kept coming back to the tag, looking for more of both- and eventually came across gunnerkriggcourtcritical. I've gone through the backlog of this blog multiple times- every time my memories of the comic frustrate and upset me. It's comforting to know that other people feel the same way, underwent the same disappointment, even betrayal, reading this comic.
And finally, it was closure for Tony and Annie's arc. Not the closure I wanted- but at least I know now what Tom was planning. I don't regret giving him the benefit of the doubt. Now I know for certain what the point of it all was. I was disgusted by The Mind Cage.
I've been in Kat's situation: watching my best friend be ridiculed in a public place by their parent, helpless to do anything to help them. Listening to another friend make constant excuses for their parent, idolizing their worst aspects, wanting to be more like them, so they can feel in control. I've been like Annie, so horrified by my own anger, so unable to process my emotions, that I just cut them out and sent them to another country. I've washed my face in that mirror, the restroom unrecognizable around me.
Annie deserved better. There are no heroes or villains in Gunnerkrigg Court; there are abusive parents, and neglected children. There are no readers who keep up with the comic, just to complain and hate it for the sake of hating; there are readers who saw themselves in Annie, in Kat, and who are still trying to process what the hell happened.
Authorial intent does matter- but a good author understands that readers will always get the last word. Stories are a reciprocal process, especially episodic ones like webcomics. Tom had all the opportunities in the world to observe reader responses, and adapt his story to be both consistent with what he had already written, and sensitive to what dynamic he was portraying.
I still love Gunnerkrigg Court. I'll probably reread those volumes again, sometime. It's still what I point to, when I want to give an example of how simplified style can be more effective in comics. It was my model of a beautiful, effective webcomic, both in story and artwork. I'll never forget how Gunnerkrigg Court shaped my art and my stories.
I'll also keep thinking about how it ultimately failed to recognize the story it was telling, and turned to mean digs at its audience rather than reflect on its own content. I'll keep thinking about what a wretched message it is, to imply that being neurodivergence is the cause of child neglect, to point at Annie doing all the work in her relationship with her father and say: that's fine, and you're stupid for thinking that isn't fine. I'll keep dunking on Loup/Jerrek, because he sucks.
I'll never forget how Gunnerkrigg Court let me down.

It all tastes like poison.
Part 11.
previous chapter
Pairing: Homelander x fem!reader / Solider Boy x fem!reader
Plot: based on this request: “can you please write an imagine about someone who use to be with soldier boy before he "died» which left her broken, but she still worked with vought for years because she ages slower than normal and she meets homelander who she kinda falls for, but when ben comes back she gets mixed emotions till he tries to kill homelander and then she'll have to work with everyone else to get him back into the box, which she doesn't want to do. LIKE ANGST?”
warnings: f-bombs, mentions of death and murder, mentions of blood, mentions of some werid family dynamics, plot twist at the end
Tumblr media
"Where is Y/N?", Billy asks, while he looks over at Soldier Boy. Ben is leaning against the wall, cleaning out his weapons. "You mean ever since she found out that she has been dating her boyfriend's son? She locked herself in the bathroom, with a bottle of Rum."
"Well, Homelander ain't really Soldier Boy's son, and they both know it."
Ben perks up from the gun in his hand, and his gaze falls upon the two men. He scoffs. "Anyway, Soldier Boy? Could you perhaps try to get Y/N out of there", Billy asks and points towards the bathroom door, before he puts on his coat:" We've got to go. We'll swing by the office and grab some more V. And then Hughie will jump us to where the cunts are. Since Noir is no longer a problem, we go straight to Homelander. Then we are finished. Right?"
Ben licks his lips and places his gun on the table. He doesn't respond, instead, he just makes his way towards the bathroom.
----
"Homelander is Soldier Boy's fucking what?!"
"Homelander's father.", Hughie explains and looks at a wide-eyed Maeve:" Biologically, at least." Everyone is staring at him in confusion and turmoil. "So put them in a room together, are they gonna fight or fucking hug?"
"We don't know."
M.M. who is leaning against the kitchen counter crosses his arms:" What about Y/N?" A chuckle leaves Maeve's lips and she runs a hand down her face:" I forgot about her- gosh, fucking her 'presumed deceased' boyfriend's son. That information must have been a fucking gut punch."
"Well, about that.", Hughie begins:" Soldier Boy and Y/N have both been acting, uh, weird. But Butcher..." "If there's a snowball chance that Butcher can take down Homelander, he's gonna take it."
"I don't care what your orders are, I'm Starlight, and I'm telling you that you need to evacuate the Tower now.", Annie who reentered the living room makes furious hand movements, while holding her phone close to her ear: "Because Soldier Boy is alive and he's real, and he's gonna f... oh, fucking you fucking stupid...Fuck. There are a couple thousand people in that building. I mean if he pulls a Herogasm, he's gonna take the whole fucking place down."
"Then we take down Soldier Boy before he gets to Homelander."
Hughie shakes his head:" We need to take down Y/N first, if she's around she won't even let you get anywhere near him." M.M. glances at him:" You think that she is going to side with him, despite Homelander?" Hughie let out a weak breath:" I mean, after all, she killed Black Noir. If she smells you, intending to hurt the man she has loved for decades- you're a dead man."
----
Y/N stares into the mirror. From outside the bathroom, she can hear how Butcher and Ben talk to each other, but it feels distant. Those last 24 hours have felt like a never-ending pain, and reckoning how she would probably have to face Homelander soon- gosh, this nightmare was coming to life. At a rapid speed.
The woman looks herself into the eyes and wonders if their connection has been the reason why she fell for John. If she somehow smelt Ben- or saw him in John.
The sound of other voices engaging with Butcher’s catches Y/N's attention and she instantly walks out of the bathroom and down the hallway. Her eyes immediately flicker green when they settle on M.M.
As soon as her eyes travel down onto his gun, it turns into green slime and M.M. lets out a minor disgusted noise as he takes a step back.
"Where is Soldier Boy?", Annie asks, not taking her eyes off Y/N. Hughie walks up to Butcher:" If Soldier Boy goes through with this, thousands will die. Help us stop him."
But the man in front of him shakes his head:" This ain't a bloody kinder care we're on about, son. It's Vought fucking Tower."
"Becca worked in the tower."
Y/N furrows her eyebrows when she sees how Frenchies comment hit a nerve within Butcher and all heads turn when she asks:" Who's Becca?"

How do you feel about A-Train's likely redemption? Has he earned it? Or does it feel like it's only for selfish gain? Idk how to feel RIP
Oh, if you want an essay just say DAT!!
I've had MANY thoughts about the potential for A-Train's redemption. Not simply whether or not it should or shouldn't happen, or whether or not it's going to, but what it would look like, what it means for the rest of the characters in the story, and what it implies for HIS story (past and future).
But, if you don't care about all that and want a straightforward answer, I'll say that the idea of A-Train getting a redemption arc makes me uncomfortable. I simply don't like it.
The short of why I don't like it is that I feel that he hasn't earned it.
The LONG of why I don't like it is that I feel the story has not given him enough space to have earned it, simply because they do not spend enough time showing him reckoning with the actions he necessarily needs to be redeemed for.
There are plenty of things he has to be redeemed for, if he is to receive any redemption at all. He got Alex killed to get on Homelander's good side. He killed his girlfriend to protect the secret of Compound V. He got his brother paralyzed. Most importantly, however, our BIG introduction to A-Train, is his brutal killing of Robin, and THAT is the thing that, I believe, will create the biggest uphill battle in achieving his redemption.
A-Train has never given a meaningful apology for killing Robin even once. He barely seems to acknowledge that he did it. In Season 3, A-Train is having a crisis of confidence. He's stressed about his relationship with his brother, and about his relationship with the black community, and his job. Hughie runs into A-Train at Herogasm, and, feeling confident, demands an apology for Robin's death. A-Train gives a half-hearted approximation of one. It's manipulative and self-pitying in nature. It isn't truly an apology.
I don't think he will ever give one. I don't think he will give one because the story won't demand one of him. I don't think the story will demand one of him because the story does not make Robin a priority at all.
This is just a piece of what I call "The Robin Problem".
The story immediately establishes Robin as an important character, potentially the most important character, and her death as motivation for Hughie's new path. It doesn't establish her as anything else. Robin is barely a person, in the eyes of the story.
I mean, think about what we know about Robin:
She was Hughie's long-term girlfriend. Her last name was Ward. She wanted Hughie to move out of his dad's apartment so they could live together. They used to go ice skating at Rockefeller. He had plans (as far as we know) to spend the rest of his life with her. He was devastated (I have to assume) that she died so horrifically. She's the reason he decided to help The Boys take down Vought.
That's about it.
Her personality, her identity, her family, her friends, her likes, her passions, her dreams, her fears. Can only be found in that handful of background information that we are given about her. If we can't find it in that handful, it simply doesn't exist.
All of what we know about Robin is established in the first (and maybe second) season, and nowhere else. Robin is barely a presence in Hughie's life beyond that point. The glimpses we get of Robin after her death serve to torment Hughie, and not to comfort him. We don't get any tender flashbacks like we do with Becca and Butcher. Robin is his ghost until he starts having sex with Annie. Then, she's gone.
Robin is not a person in this story. She has no meaning to anyone beyond the first season. She isn't even really mentioned in the later seasons. This is why it was a total surprise to me that Hughie bothered to ask for an apology. It made me uncomfortable, and the discomfort made me sad. It made me sad that Robin was clearly an afterthought in this story because no one had bothered to mention her for all of Season 3, even when it would have made the most sense to do so.
It's no secret that I dislike Season 3. If you've read anything that I've written about Season 3, you will learn that it's possibly my least favorite out of all of them. There were many places where the writing dropped the ball, and this was one of them. I will never not express my dislike for the "toxic masculinity" shit, and part of that reason is that it cuts Robin and her influence on Hughie's life out of the equation. Now, instead of a traumatized man, trying to keep his current girlfriend from suffering the same brutal fate as his deceased, beloved Robin, he's...upset because he's a man that is not as powerful as his superhero girlfriend. His true trauma (watching his girlfriend turn into liquid, feeling her blood and guts on his face, losing his long-term partner) is erased, meaning that the deep love he had for Robin is erased, and the fear and insecurity realized from his love for Robin and her brutal death is erased entirely and turned into a commentary on masculinity and "girl power". It's fucking embarrassing. It's sad. It's disrespectful to everyone involved. As a black woman, it's heartbreaking. Why can't Robin be enough? Why can't she be enough for Hughie to be upset about? Why can't we talk about her? Why can't we see her again, the way she was when Hughie knew her? Where is her family? Where is the life that she had?
That is why I don't believe true redemption for A-Train can ever be achieved, and any attempt to do so will make me unhappy. Even if the writers attempt it, it will be shallow, and meaningless until Robin is redeemed as more than a plot device. How is A-Train supposed to make a meaningful apology, if the person he's apologizing for is a character that the story has overlooked and forgotten? What's the point of him being forgiven for something no one in the story seems to care about?
Yes, I feel that his attempt at forgiveness and redemption would be for selfish gain because I don't feel he cares about anyone but himself, but he could potentially achieve some sort of redemption for the death of Alex. That path is visible. He told on Alex because he wanted Homelander's approval, so A-Train should just quit his job. Alex's death hurt Annie, so A-Train should apologize to Annie. Both would be his ticket back to redemption for the death of Alex. Why is it that a character we only just met, could potentially receive more justice in his storyline than the character that started it all?
All in all, I hope he dies and we don't have to look at him anymore. We'll get the same amount of remorse for Robin's death if he was dead as we did when he was alive. Sorry if you're an A-Train stannie. No hard feelings.

let me try to get all of my hunger game feelings down as quickly as possible
first of all, what a series it was so much better than i remember and i don't like 10 year olds should've been allowed to read this but i think for the most part all of the traumatic shit went over their heads
peeta my son, he has been reduced to a soft spoken bread boy over the years and i did not remember or realize how charming he was in the book gosh he is my babygirl and so sweet
in the first book he was an absolute treasure like the way he flirts with katniss the way he moves a crowd im in awe like i fucking love the interview scene in the first book and the movies do it such a disservice because his crush confession is so shocking that everybody kind of gasps like he has stolen this crowd at the show (im kind of sad cause caesar and peeta duo was so iconic naturally stars)
god katniss my dear i don't know where to start with her
i had no idea she was such a shitty narrator like if i didn't already know the entire plot i might have believed her crazy ass. Especially in the first book the girl is insane. peeta is living his terrible life with a crush while katniss is having a one sided enemies to lovers moment all in her fucking head. It is not until the train home that its like oh he was serious ofc you fucking walnut.
katniss is the star but everyone with eyes knows that if you take peeta away from her she'll breakdown and thats the cruelest part. I think if I was Snow i would've left katpee alone idk why put the spark back in the spotlight ya know?
the second book peeta was another beam of light god the baby line is so iconic and he deserved it malewife manslaughter manipulate he has done it all and did it flawlessly
and he’s still so sweet like trying to get katniss to leave him or backing off when he thinks she's with gale he always so respectful of her space
the fucking locket and pearl are very special to me like he knows and SHE KNOWS there is nothing left for him in 12 but she doesn't listen
there is so much warmth in him from painting rue's portrait for the gamemakers or offering gifts to district 11 like he didnt know thresh and rue but he knew how much it meant to katniss and how awful it was for them to die. Even him talking the morphling as they died just gently describing his paintings and rainbows was so precious
And I think about katniss and peeta were labeled as rebels for simply showing acts of kindness I like how he gets mad and that gentleness disappears but there is always a reason behind it, and him taking care of haymitch is just the sweetest he has attitude but so much warmth
then in MJ goodness its a lot first the torture and then risking it all to warn the rebels and then later like yes he tried to kill katniss but she overlooked it and so will i and hes so mean and cruel when he's out of his mind but can you blame him its not like he's lying??
the moments where that gentleness comes out again are so precious to me when he bakes annie and finnick's wedding cake when he talks sweet to delly its the little moments and how like every single book before he still wants katniss to live and he's crying and begging for death and digging his arms into his wrists to hold himself together
in the end he still wont let katniss die and the first thing he fucking does after getting out of wherever the fuck they stored him was to plant primroses in front of her house and i love him so much
he's really smart its just that no one tells him the fucking plan ever even though they all agree he's a great fucking actor
He knows he hold katniss back and he wants her to let him go but she wont and he wont let her go either and he gives her space to sort out her feelings like yes he loves her he always has and he has never tried to push her and he's just a kind person and i really really really that
At the end of the day i will always treasure a character who is simply a good person
Katniss has her moments of frustration but I don't think I can ever get mad at her because like peeta she is a genuinely good person.
Don't listen to her shitty inner monologue she doesn't have a fucking clue she is so empathetic and compassionate and caring she might not be outwardly sweet but she shows it with her actions, with rue, prim, peeta, everyone and everybody her kindness knows no bounds and she does it because she desperately wants to protect the people she loves
I think so much is lost from katniss' character into shitty ya dystopias of the 10s is that compassionate. She did not become a symbol of rebellion because she really wanted to she did it to protect the people she loves every act of rebellion was a show of love and compassion whether it is burying a little girl and singing her to her death or risking it all to help as many people as she can
peeta says it the best that she has no idea the affect she has on people and her crappy elder sister inner monologue shows that she thinks so little of herself and her ability that she undermines her skills and talents and natural charisma.
So much of her is survival “I want to the people i love to survive” and when innocent people die because of her when her friends fall to save her it hurts and hurts and she is buried under the weight of it all, burying the burden of a rebellion is not something that should be thrust upon a young girl trying to live
she's moody she's feisty but damn does she love deeply and passionately it just looks different.
THG is a very gross book there is no other way to describe everything is far uglier then you remember. The wolf mutts that look like tributes the tears the blood and pain its all so awful. Reading through the pain and the suffering and it does this really odd thing of making you smile in between the moments of terror. I love katniss' flashbacks through the book and how they reveal more and more of the story.
Katniss could have abandoned peeta and left him like he told her too multiple times but she wanted him to live she wanted that boy who gave her bread to survive and she knew if he died she would never recover it may not be the love we are thinking about but it was everything.
I don't think i will forget how awful cato's death is and how my eyes watered reading rue die again. THG is so good and making us despair you come out of that silly book hating nobody there is no tribute that i can afford to hate. The first book has a very unique vibe to it and i like it's style.
CF, catching fire is probably my favorite cause its the least traumatizing. I blame katniss and peeta for that because they are the cutest fucking thing in that stupid book. I argue that it might be a mix of love and codependency thrown in there but the cutest shit.
I totally forgot about the gale katniss love stint at the beginning so that was a total surprise.
I love the cast of catching fire i love them all i love finnick and mags and johanna and beetee and wiress and morphling 6 ( i dont like calling her that) i love the stylists and cinna and effie and i like themmmm. i like them all i love how the city and nation cries for their tributes and you see all of their friends and allies come together before the end begins.
That fucking force field has me smiling every time because its the moment where everybody but katniss realizes how much peeta means to her. The stupid pearl and the stupid locket make my heart hurt because peeta loves her so much and wants her to live and she doesn't care because she'll do anything and everything to keep him alive.
Watching them hold each other in the train, cry over force fields, drag each other through fog and water, hold each other in their arms after terrible jabberjays, even before when she was watching him bring her bread and paint in her home and katniss would stare at his eyelashes. Like she says it would be easy to let peeta go but she will never do that and she can't. Calling out for each other before she blows up the damn force field like fuck you all even if they didn't fall in love i know damn well they should've stayed together.
MJ is such a hollow book you just come out of it with emptiness like im not sad i wont cry but i feel a bit empty because you look at all the things you had and then its all gone, what was katniss fighting for? her sister, her mother, gale? and its all gone in and instant nothing remains, her friends her home the companions she made along the way and it hurts and hurts. You close the book and take a deep sign and just feel whatever is left to feel. Madge's death kind of hurt me she was the symbol behind the symbol and she is just gone. everybody is gone
Like there is nowhere to begin its falling in love even more with finnick and watching him disappear its falling in love with katniss' little camera crew and watching them disappear
its prim the light that started this just disappear and whats left NOTHING
there are so many moments where katniss wants to rip her head off but she can't because she doesn't have time there is no space there is no room its not until she if shipped back to her home all alone that she truly breaks down because she can. there is no more rebellion she has to be strong for there is no prim or mother she has to lead and she is stuck with all the weight all alone.
MJ just left me hollow like maybe if i read this years ago after CF came out i would’ve hand the sticky stuffy feeling i get in chest when i read bittersweet stories but i don’t know if this is sweet enough and it’s not bitter? it’s nothing just nothing is left
i love the parallels the book has with modern society like this is a death game where children have to fight to the death and everyone only paid attention to the love triangle and romance like they did in the games of the fact nobody cared a 16 year old girl would die in senseless violence until they realized she was pregnant like the baby suddenly makes her life valuable
simple acts of kindness labeled as rebellious and innocent children are forced to shoulder the weight of the world when they have no one left. there are so many moments where death would be the kindest thing to any of these characters because they had no hope but hope enters so when they die their death hurts like nothing else.
it tells a story of war and survival that seems so far away but so close. Katniss just wanted to live and the people she loved to live she never asked to become the face of a war but she does it and she stands strong until she can’t anymore i love her and i think her love and empathy has been lost over the years
if i were to talk about the romance okay it’s been years i knew peeta was going to win but seeing him again was so refreshing cause he is so charming and sweet and it makes my heart flutter. if katniss didn’t want him i’ll take him
i don’t hate gale, like his anger and rage caused prim’s death and you can argue having Coin in his ear and having to raise his family all by himself traumatized him so he believes it’s okay to sacrifice innocent lives (children and doctors mind you) for the greater good.
Both boys are rebels and they are good people deep down but peeta is motivated by kindness he does these things because it is the kind thing to do gale does these things because he’s angry for all he has to suffer. Both sides are justified in their feelings but it’s about katniss at the end of the day
there are many moments where katniss is taken back my gale’s cruelness and flame. She doesn’t need him to appeal to her anger to the rebellious aspect of her being. Peeta however appeals to the softer side of her soul the one that nurtures little girls who sings people to sleep he opens up the sweet side of katniss that she is positive doesn’t exist. She can be painfully romantic and she can tell everyone she doesn’t see the beauty in the world but she does she sees it every time.
There is more to katniss that fighting and hunting and i don’t think gale knew that. At the end of the day the only option was Peeta because he complimented the side of her that was buried by the weight of the world and i think that adds more meaning to her life than anything else
there are so many characters to talk about j loved ever second with haymitch and how he acts like he doesn’t care but every single tribute that has come after him has left a hole in his heart. My district 12 tributes are disasters but they truly care about each other probably every only people left in the world who would risk it all

hi!
I read what the anon said about Mikasa. People always talk about how obsessed she is with Eren, but honestly can we take a moment and appreciate my girl for being as brave and strong willed as she is.
For years she has been adamant about protecting Eren and now having to kill him with her own hands.
People also forget that Mikasa is a kind girl, she might mostly focus on Eren but we seen her taking care of others and be thoughtful multiple times.
Mikasa is a girlboss. I love both Ackermans so much.
I also hate it when people compare Levi and Mikasa. They might be from same clan and similar in some ways but other than that they are two different individuals with different goals.
Mikasa's main goal being protecting Eren and throwing it away to kill him and save what remains of humanity is so selfless.
Absolutely. People always try to reduce Mikasa down to her "obsession" with Eren (without even understanding why she loves him so much in the first place), but yeah, they completely ignore her many other, amazing qualities. She is incredibly kind and thoughtful and caring. We see that when she comes to the aid of the people who are trying to escape the city, and being blocked by Deemo Reeves. We see that in her compassion toward Sasha and Annie and so many others. She wasn't ever mindlessly loyal to Eren, either. Lets not forget how she laid him out at the beginning of the story, when he was trying to start a fight with those soldiers over food rations and causing a scene. Anyway, people need to stop dumping on her. Where the hell is the compassion for what she's been through?
And yeah, I hate when people compare her and Levi too. They're both their own people, with different outlooks and mindsets and philosophies, different experiences, different personalities, different people. Just because they're both Ackerman's doesn't mean they're interchangeable. The only qualities they really share is their last names, the fact that they're both exceptionally strong, and of course, they're both loyal. But otherwise, I don't think they have much in common at all, in terms of what they're like, how they behave, etc...
Her sacrifice in the end was incredibly moving. She gave up the one thing she'd longed for most of her life, the one thing that really drove her, and she did it to save a bunch of people she didn't even know, just like Levi did. And we see how much that sacrifice cost her. She's devastated by it, and she'll never stop loving Eren. But still, she did it. That's more than most people would ever be willing to do.
