#the weird thing is that i would consider a type i error to be closer to type 2 fun....but what do i know

Last night my cousin introduced us to a new phrase, "type 2 fun" and @radioactivepigeons as currently best statitician in our family, asked "is that like a 'type II error'"
Apparently "Type 1 fun" is an experience that is enjoyable while it's is happening.
"Type 2 fun" is not enjoyable while it is happening but produces fun/funny stories afterwards
"Type II errors" are false positive errors.
So @radioactivepigeons was happy to note that "type 2 fun" and "type II errors" were indeed similar.
What does your family talk about at the dinner table

While I must give credit where it's due, and extend my sincere appreciation of the virtual elimination of unsolicited "advice" being sent to my inbox in response to others' perception of recent happenings on the site, involving me. And, while the practice does appear to be quite healthy where the "blog my philosophy surrounding the generalized type of event, person, relationshio, decision, etc along with specific advice for both seeking an outcome of my liking. OR accepting, beforehand that no such outcomecis posssible based on.....various data, and throw in the towel days prior, saving ourselves pain and embarassment. Still others, especially today, stress the spiritual angle. This outcome was, quite literally, an overt rejection of my proposal by GOD HIMSELF, I would be wise to further familiarize myself with the ways of the almighty as this is not a stream one is wise to sail against on the regular. Without rehashing details (cuz I'm doing that tomorrow) the errors I committed in relation to this subject were water under the bridge years ago.....literally, between 10 and 20 years ago, I did not approach this person in a fashion that's advisable when dealing with a romantic interest. The blog thing, while very weird, and often aided by illicit drug use, and the site of many minor rrors in communication, temper, action, reaction, etc.....which often became fodder for ridiculing me, everyone had a better approach that would have worked, or, according to some, it was hopeless from day 1. I wish our previous interactions had been sufficient as to render a hail mary such as this, unnecesary....however, SINCE IT. WAS..
consider that I was not going to directly approach anyone....yes, there were reasons for this, it is also unlikely to have resulted in anything but verbal assault. Waiting any longer wasn't happening, and I knew of no alternate routes to her that would not have appeared just unbelievably chickenshit and cowardly (a duo of issues that already had contributed significant damage) In retrospect, it actually seems that this....especiially if some skill and, dare I say....sleight if hand, were added to it very well COULD have served to advance the ball a bit prior to a high stakes play. Still though, as noted earlier, there was GOOD reason to employ some caution here, it is possible, but not probable that a 3rd party scheme of some sort may have paid dividends. I am actually a bit proud of having made an attempt. I wish it had been laid out, oh...20 fuckin' years ago, or so. But, it wasn't easy. Honestly, I NEVER really felt (again, there are a number of contributing factors that nobody knows, just trust me on this one, okay....) I never felt especially confident of ultimate success, but I still attempted. When faced with ridiculous slander, and invented, embellished, etc stories which served to make me look as undesirable as humanly possible, I stuck up for myself. I countered with the truth. I didn't lose my shit, though. Not only did i act fine in the moment, neither did I attempt a retaliatory strike or reputation assassination against anyone else in return. There was even additional information concerning spyware being utilized on my phone....no evidence demonstrates who is/was responsible, but past versions would have jumped the gun with no hesitation. I don't necesarily agree with every response,or lack theirof that I received from various parties throughout the experience, and certainly, whoever installed the phone app is guilty of a felony, but my reactions were chill, and I am not overly disturbed by these actions now....she did what appeared most beneficial for her, it's disappointing, but over. And while I believe that you simply cannot allow certain levels of anti-activities to be run against you, neither is it proper to simplyvguess as to the responsible party. Sometimes everything goes wrong and you feel closer than you have in years to breaking out. I will do just that. Watch.

TOKYO REVENGERS CHARACTERS WITH AN S/O THAT GET FLUSTERED SEEING THEM SHIRTLESS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warning: none.
genre: fluff.
characters: mikey and smiley.
note: possible ooc. grammatical errors.
requested here
Tumblr media
Sano "Mikey" Manjiro
Is anyone even capable of gravely injuring this man? But, let's, per se, imagine that he attained a couple of gashes and cuts from their recent brawl.
Mikey isn't the type to ask for help (have you seen how selfless this man is? He is one to ask for help, even to Draken.) So, coaxing him into letting you tend to his wounds needs a fuck ton of persuasion.
Once you convinced him enough, he will not hesitate to take off his shirt because that's where most of his bruises and cuts hide. And that caught you off guard, causing your cheeks to bear peaches.
He wouldn't notice this at first because—come on, it's Mikey, he is dense. Or he doesn't care. Man has better things to put his care about, and you're his s/o, nothing too weird about that, right? So, technically he's as shameless as one can be.
He'll even ask you why you're so flustered, which you'll stumble upon answering. Yes, he's at that idgaf level. However, he can add 1 to 1 and understand your predicament.
WILL. LAUGH. AT. YOU.
Not the lighthearted laugh, no Mikey isn't like that. It's the stomach aching, folding, scrunching, snorting, and clapping type of laugh. Mind you that this might go for a couple of minutes until you had enough and shower his shallow cuts with alcohol.
Teasing you will go on for days, 25/8, to months. Will purposely do it when you're sleeping over to see your flustered state. Let's just say that he loves seeing you flustered after that incident.
"Mikey put your fucking shirt on," your fingers work their way up to massage your temples, already fed up at the boy beside you, "I swear to God, I'll fucking kill you."
"Eh? I thought you like me shirtless, (y/n)?" he pouts, snuggling closer to you.
You had decided to sleep over Mikey's after their brawl with some gang who tried to challenge Tokyo Manji. It has become your thing to tend to his wound every time he comes back home from a fight. Well, you expected it, considering the number of attempts you tried persuading him. This night isn't new in particular.
"No, Mikey, I do not. Now, can you put your shirt on?"
"You put them on me,"
His awaiting eyes and teasing smile will be the death of you. After Mikey saw your flustered face, he seemingly can't get enough of you, and now, you're dealing with his dumbassery.
"I hate you."
"Of course, darling, I love you too."
Kawata "Smiley" Nahoya
Another person I doubt anyone is capable of inflicting injuries.
But, there isn't a day he will come home clean and fresh. No, because this man will be home with soiled clothes and shallow cuts. His smile, however, is still the same bright commercial-like one. (You immediately gush over his smile)
This man already knew how flustered you get when you see him shirtless every time you tend to his wounds, and he's a master at feigning ignorance about it. He's afraid that once he mentioned it, you'll blow a fuse and hides in the blankets.
Will play dumb just to see your flustered face. EVERY. TIME.
Until one day, he can't take it anymore and tease you. At first, you didn't catch on to his statement, and minutes later, you're all flushed red in front of him. Finds you cute, nonetheless.
Like Mikey, he will not stop teasing you about it. Regardless of the situation, he will spill to anyone at any time that you, his s/o, get flustered every time you tend to his wounds.
He got you upset because of that one, and he had to treat you with a bunch of junk food with that or probably cooks you ramen.
Smiley would purposely go on fights often and come home with tattered clothes, just so you can clean his wound and he can see your face flustered once again. No, there's no other way around it. Smiley must go on fights.
"Really? How many times is it this week?" you deflate as you see your boyfriend at your front door, holding a bag of chips. His smile contradicts his sorry state, all bruised and bloodied.
Forcing his way to your place, he walks without batting an eye on you, "I don't know, babe? Is it that many?"
"Yes, Nahoya, It is," your (e/c) eyes followed him up to the living room, where he put down the bag of chips and take off his shirt. It causes warmth to travel to your face.
Turning around to look at you, "Like what you see?"
You went to the bathroom, ignoring him once again, then come back with medicine in hand. Your hands gesture him to sit beside you and start cleaning his shallow cuts. He abides silently, eyes observing your flushed features.
"You look cute, did you know that?"
You hide from his intense eyes and gleaming smile, "No. Now, can you-"
His other hand cups your face and kisses you on your forehead, interrupting your sentence. You froze and watched him as he beams another smile at your cute reaction.
"My cute, little (y/n)."

ok wait. OBI-WAN vs anakin's genome being 50% the Force. go
Okay I'm assuming this is in the context of GG Stewjon AU
In which case! We're in luck! Obi-Wan is a Spark, and Sparks have a very tenuous grasp on the whole 'respect for procedure' thing and are going to be much less upset, on average, than a lab manager type like Karin.
So we'll assume they've been doing the whole "Obi-Wan teaches Anakin how to do A Science without going completely bonkers, how to time your cackling so that you feel like you're releasing a valve on your emotions instead of just throwing it around for no reason, how to avoid electrical arcing with dramatic effect," thing for a year or two. Anakin's got a good grasp on it, and he's primarily a mechanics spark, so even though his projects are often significantly more dangerous than many people's, because things go boom, he's generally considered less worrying than Obi-Wan, because Obi-Wan is an adult, one who often comes out of the lab covered in blood and spinal fluid and--
Anyway. They're used to each other.
Qui-Gon always sits in the corner with a book, some tea, and a wealth of experience in managing a baby Spark. The corner has a square of tape on the floor that's labeled to make it clear this is his corner, and also the only section of the lab where people can eat and drink. Maybe there's a low-level forcefield that people can walk through but keeps out unfortunate gasses that could land on the food. If he's not available, someone of a similar level of "can control these madboys" will be. Yoda likes taking this duty. Nobody wants him to, but he does anyway.
(He has an unfortunate habit of encouraging them.)
There's a rotating cast of healer/starfighter padawans who get assigned to play lab assistant for practice with high-stress situations where it won't get a patient/pilot killed if they fuck up, and also so they get used to being able to tell someone with COMMAND to fuck off and stop doing something stupid before they get everyone killed. Anakin might be eleven, but he has the harmonics, okay. Most people listen instinctively to the first few seconds of orders and then go "wait, he's a baby" and stop. Obi-Wan is harder to ignore, so it's great practice for learning to tell Authorities With Bad Ideas to shove off.
So, now that we've got that set up, we can say that two years in, Obi-Wan asks Anakin if he can pretty please take a look at his genome, because he's circled back around to midichlorian counts in his studies and he recalls the actually quite fascinating--
Padawan.
Er. Yes. Right. Well, Anakin, your blood had some anomalies that I'd like to take a closer look at, do you mind?
And they do that! Obi-Wan gets a blood sample, Anakin goes back to doing questionable upgrades to a zeppelin--he was inspired by some of the stories Obi-Wan told about his and Qui-Gon's last "I need to talk to experienced Sparks who can give me advice on how to manage this incredibly rare neurotype that is pretty much nonexistent outside of this one planet" trip to Albia's Empire, he wants to make zeppelins for a few months, it's fine--and Qui-Gon keeps reading his book. Obi-Wan Does A Science to the blood. What kind of science? Unclear, but he's doing it.
I'm not sure what he finds, but I am sure that it makes him happy, and he spends a significant amount of time trying to tease out answers from the cells. Why is the DNA wrapping in this specific way?! What's with the error message he's getting from Chromosome 12?! Why is the mitochondrial RNA the wrong color?! What are these organelles?! Why are they glowing in ultraviolet?!
He's having a lot of fun and Anakin's eager to help him make Neat New Scanners to figure out more weird blood things.
Qui-Gon got in a new brand of tea, would any of the padawans on rotation like a taste while the madboys have their Maniacal Laughter break?

I’m going to be honest before I get to the Sam/Rebecca subplot: if they drop plots threads indicating that this continue into the next season and uplift this pairing, I’m out.
This storyline is gross and I can see why some people quit the show when the revealed happened.
When I say I’m repulsed by age gap relationships of this nature, this isn’t a shipping thing or a race thing. This is a moral and ethical thing. Because it’s not just an age gap, it’s also that Rebecca is Sam’s boss. I legitimately don’t see how people can overlook this and ship how “cute” this is. I’m not judging anyone, it just genuinely doesn’t make sense to me.
And for people who think I’m a hypocrite, Ted/Rebecca is not the same. Sam and Rebecca is like a principal dating a student. If you want to age Sam up, because people love to accuse others of infantilizing Sam, it’s like the president of a college dating a student. In both cases, there would be backlash, and have been, to these types of relationships.
Which would make Ted’s position that of a teacher/professor or someone higher. In most cases, there aren’t objections, however, both parties have to be transparent about their relationship and careful about how and if that influences their professional relationship with each other and others.
Last week, I mentioned a friend of mine who was 18 and dated someone who was 28. Both are white for reference. When I found out their ages and respective positions, I became concerned and doubly concerned.
Oh, they had chemistry and he made her so happy, but he was also controlling as fuck and emotionally abusive. During the duration of their relationship, he became her boss and would monitor her interactions via cameras in the back office. She was stressed out as fuck and would go to the bathroom to cry. You know, where cameras weren’t and where he couldn’t enter.
And it was a secret relationship because he could get in trouble. I didn’t say anything because she was with her boyfriend before she knew me. Me telling someone could’ve gotten him in trouble or fired, but that wouldn’t have ended the relationship. It would’ve made her end our friendship and cling closer to him. Instead, after I quit for other reasons, I sporadically checked on her to see how she was doing and give her advice and resources.
As far as the actual episode itself goes, I struggled to enjoy it due to the Sam/Rebecca situation. It should’ve ended at dinner at most.
The only emotional beat that landed, imo, was Jamie and Roy’s hug. I do think Ted’s confession was strong, but the flow was kinda weird for me. By itself it works.
Two things working for me that wasn’t at the forefront of the episode was 1. How Ted’s problem is fucking over the team. 2. That Nate is in over his head.
Even if AFC Richmond had lost with Ted being in his A game, it wouldn’t have been that made and the team would’ve been more competitive. They were sloppy and making baffling errors. Their head was not in the game and it showed. Man City wasn’t that good, Richmond was just that ill prepared.
And who led training?
Nate.
Nate has great instincts, but he isn’t ready to lead a team and he still has a lot of work to do before growing into coaching a team as head coach.
But let me stress, this falls completely on Ted and even Beard to an extent. Yes, Ted is having emotional issues, however, many people rely on him and he wasn’t there. I don’t mean literally because teams should be able to function without their head coach for stretches of time. He hasn’t been there mentally and emotionally for most of the season. Because AFC Richmond’s competition isn’t as premier as Man City, it’s easier to appear more dominant that you are, esp if you’re coach isn’t on his A game. However, when you’re up against actual Goliath’s in the league, you’ll get your ass handed to you like Richmond did.
As I mentioned earlier, if they do go through with supporting and uplifting Sam/Rebecca, my time with this fandom ends with the season 2 finale.
But if we take Ted’s dark forest into consideration, there is another way this could play out. Actually many.
The one I can see happening that can get her somewhat redeemed, because some will never get over this happening in the first place, is her hitting rock bottom via her relationship with Sam. Something will happen or make her have unflattering thoughts about herself and her actions that will drive her into a tailspin.
And I’m unsure if it’ll be just a personal crisis or if it’ll also be a professional crisis.
Some may disagree with me, but I do want this affair to come to light. Because if it doesn’t, it sets up this fucked up precedent that Rebecca can do fucked up shit and get away with it in private.
Rebecca fucked over her club, uprooted a man’s life in bad faith, and almost ruined several people’s careers due to her bullshit in the first season. The fact that she didn’t have to answer for any of this is a God damn mercy on Ted’s part even though she didn’t ask for it.
Now for her to date/fuck a player because “she just has to know.” Because she doesn’t want to let something pass her by?
Yeah…no.
Rebecca’s fear of loneliness is leading her to make very bad decisions and I fear what this means for Sam’s career and relationships if this breaks. There were people who allegedly care for Sam, yet cheered for this relationship to happen. What do you think happens with his locker room relationships? I’ve already explained in another post that either this sours those relationships OR they want favors from him because he’s dating/fucking the boss.
He’ll get crucified in the media. He may even have trouble getting employed. Why? Because that’s how racism works.
“But, masterthespianduchovny, if Sam may receive hate and racist acts committed against him, why do you want the affair exposed?”
Because this shit show of a relationship isn’t about just Sam. It’s about Rebecca’s fear of loneliness leading her to make bad decisions that effects everyone not just her and Sam. It’s the fact that a white woman isn’t thinking about how her actions could have major consequences for a young black man.
Rebecca is so obsessed with not being lonely and being loved that 1. She never sought help or productive ways to deal with the fall out and humiliation of her marriage. 2. She dated a man because he was “fine” and not because she was actually invested in him and the relationship 3. She’s getting involved with a player on her team without thinking of any of the consequences. 4. She’s not considering the other players, the coaches, or anyone else she’s responsible for.
Oh, and considering we got that call from Sam’s dad…his relationship with his father will most likely suffer as a result. AND now that Dubai Air thing looks suspect, esp because she was talking to him around that time unknowingly.
Oop! And isn’t she getting her relationship with Nora back on track? Even though Nora and Sam can’t legally date and I’m not saying every decision should be swayed by a teenage girl, however, Rebecca is literally sabotaging every relationship just because she’s afraid of being alone (I agree with another poster who said we really didn’t need to explore this storyline, but alas…)
Although Ted forgave Rebecca for her scheming in season one, I honestly don’t think he’d be so forgiving for this. It’s his job to protect players and look out for their well being and how can he one his boss is involved with one of his players, which again, affects others players. This relationship has major consequences for other people who are not in it.
Also, Sam…for someone who people love to say is mature enough to date an older woman, not once did even be consider the ramifications of getting involved with the boss.
Not once.
And that looks bad because a mature person his age would be mindful of such a thing. This isn’t considered or, at least, isn’t said onscreen. Sam os either thinking with his dick, his heart, or both, but he isn’t thinking with his head. Because there is no way you’re thinking with your head and don’t stop to say, “hey, this thing could jeopardize my relationship with my teammates and the other people I work with. Maybe I should think some more of this before pursuing a relationship with my boss.” Sam was all in from the moment he decided he wanted to have dinner with Rebecca. There was no thinking on his end.
But Sam’s super mature, right?
Another poster mentioned that there might be a screaming match between Rebecca and ted and I’m so here for that. No, I don’t think this argument will be romantic. They’ll have legitimate gripes with each other, but yeah…this is an argument that needs to happen. Which will most likely be before Rebecca gets help.
That’s all assuming this happens. Like I said, they could have Sam and Rebecca being a power couple (🤮), or handle this some other way. But if this is going to be framed as a good thing, others can enjoy it, but the show will have one less viewer from me.

Broken Trust
Pairing: Jungkook x Reader
Warnings: I did not proof read this at all, so sorry in advance for any errors!
Word Count: 5k+
Summary: What happens when Jungkook betrays the trust of his girlfriend by sharing a highly personal detail about her life with his friends? How do you respond when the one person you trusted above anyone else does the very thing he vowed never to do – break your heart.
Tumblr media
Being best friends with seven overgrown man-children was definitely an experience. An experience you hadn’t quite foreseen in your future when you first moved to Seoul, Korea. Nevertheless, it was an experience that you wouldn’t trade for the world. Most days, at least, you corrected yourself ruefully.
Over a year ago, you had made the biggest, most adult-like decision in your life thus far and decided to pack up all that you had, leaving behind everything and everyone that you knew in favor of starting a new journey in a completely different country. You were hesitant when you were first offered the job opportunity, but quickly realized that turning down such an opportunity would be a decision that you would always look back on with regret. And certainly, looking back now, you could definitely say that you had made the best decision of your life in moving to Seoul. Not only had it led you to the love of your life, but also to the aforementioned crazy best friends, of whom your boyfriend was actually one.
You could only describe the meeting as fate as it was truly a scene straight out of a romantic comedy. It had been your first week at your new job, you had frantically been checking the map on your phone, trying to navigate the winding hallways in order to find the room where your two o’clock meeting was being held. In your distracted state, you had failed to notice the man in front of you walk straight into the door that he had been too preoccupied to notice was closed before promptly falling to the ground, serving as the hazard that had caused your own frantic descent to the hard floor.
The man had been so sweet and apologetic, ensuring over and over again that you were unhurt. You assured him that you were just fine and not to worry, but he had insisted on making it up to you, stating that he couldn’t rest until he offered you what he claimed was the most perfect hot chocolate in the world. Before you could protest, he pulled you through the door, this time successfully opening it before attempting to walk through, and into what looked like a large recording studio area.
He quickly dragged you over to the back corner of the room that seemed to serve as the designated snack area as it was occupied by a mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave, and toaster oven. He wasted no time in getting to work, pulling out a mug and various different ingredients and before you knew it, he was proudly presenting you with his hot chocolate creation with a large, endearing smile on his face. You had been about to protest, worried about making your meeting on time, but there was no possible way that you could refuse that face. He looked so eager and so, with a rueful smile, you gratefully accepted the warm drink and took a nice long sip, relishing in the rich, chocolatey taste.
His eyes never left your face, eyebrows raising expectantly after you pulled back.
“You were right,” you assented. “Definitely the most perfect cup of hot chocolate I’ve ever had. You have a real gift, kind sir.”
“Why thank you, m’lady,” he responded, giving you an exaggerated bow that set you off in a fit of giggles. This guy was just too adorable for his own good.
Before you could inquire any further as to his name or any other details about him, a loud flurry of noises sounded behind you as a group of boys walked into the room, laughing and joking and shoving one another. However, once they caught sight of you standing in the middle of the room with the man by your sight, their conversations quickly shut off, eyes simultaneously bouncing back and forth between you and the mystery man by your side.
“Who’s this?” One of the men asked curiously, stepping forward and glancing between the two of you with eyebrows raised.
You and the man exchanged quick glances, realizing that you had yet to formally introduce yourselves to one another.
Realizing this, you took a small step forward. “Hi. My name is Y/N. I’m new to the company. I just moved here last week and I literally ran into your friend here in the hallway,” you explained, gesturing to the man beside you, who had a faint blush covering his cheeks.
“Yeah,” the man said, sheepishly rubbing at the back of his neck. “I kind of ran into the door and took her down with me.”
The boys stared at the two of you for a moment before breaking into laughter, seemingly not even questioning the events of the story.
“Awww, such the charmer you are, Jungkookie-ah,” the man who had originally stepped forward to question your presence joked. “Only you could meet a pretty girl in such a way. This type of stuff only happens in movies.”
The man besides you, who you now supposed was named Jungkookie? blushed, ducking his head down to hide his reddening face. “Stop it, Jimin-ssi,” he pleaded, sending a rush through your heart. This man was just too cute.
Taking pity on their friend, the tallest member of the group took a step forward. “Welcome to Seoul and to BigHit, Y/N. It’s very nice to meet you. I’m Namjoon,” he introduced, reaching forward to shake your hand before the others followed suit one-by-one.
Once finished with the group standing in front of you, you turned to meet the gaze of the man at your side, who was staring at you with a sheepish smile. “Hi.” He smiled. “I didn’t get a chance to formally introduce myself earlier. I’m Jungkook.”
You grinned. “Very nice to meet you, Jungkook. Thank you very much for the hot chocolate, it was excellent,” you complimented. “But I really do have to get going. I’m running a bit late for my meeting.”
“Oh, of course!” He flushed. “I’m sorry to keep you. I really should have asked before forcing you to follow me in here.”
“No worries at all,” you reassured gently. “It was well worth it. Now I know just where to come when I’m in the mood for some delicious hot chocolate.”
Jungkook blushed again and you were really starting to believe that that was just the permanent state of his face before the mischievous one who had spoken earlier, and who you now knew was named Jimin, spoke up. “Why don’t you come back here after your meeting, Y/N. We’ll still be here. Since you’re new to the city, I’m sure you don’t know very many people. Let us show you around a little bit!”
The other boys chorused along their agreement with that offer, insisting that you allow them to take you out.
“Let us make up for our little maknae almost maiming you on your first week,” the man who had introduced himself as World Wide Handsome a.k.a. Jin interjected.
You let out a laugh. “There’s really nothing to make up for, but I’d love it if you guys showed me around a little bit. I haven’t had a chance to go exploring yet. I’d love to see your country through your own eyes.”
“Then it’s settled!” Namjoon declared, a broad grin stretching across his face. “Come back here after your meeting is done and we’ll head out!”
“Ok, sounds like a plan,” you nodded. “I’ll see you guys soon then!”
***
And that had been that. At the time you hadn’t known that they were the most famous K-Pop group in the world, which they had teased you mercilessly about. Considering you worked for the company that employed them, they had found it unbelievable that you had had no idea who they were. But all the same, they found it refreshing to talk to someone who knew nothing of their background or their fame, someone they could have a normal conversation with and just be themselves around.
The eight of you had quickly bonded, meeting together often for meals, going out after work to explore the town, or even attending game nights at their shared apartment. Your relationship with each one of them had solidified so quickly, finding your own common ground that bonded you with each member. However, there was one that stood out from the rest. Jungkook. Ever since that first meeting, there was a spark between the two of you, something that the others were quick to pick up on. They were constantly teasing the two of you and scheming for opportunities to get the two of you alone together. So, with all of their plotting, it was no surprise that you quickly found yourself growing closer and closer to Jungkook each and every day. He quickly became your closest friend and greatest confidante. Therefore, when he had finally mustered up the courage to ask you out on a date, you hadn’t wasted a second before agreeing.
It was nothing but history after that. Your date had gone fantastic and you had been together ever since. There was no one you trusted and adored more than Jungkook and vice versa. Although you had never expected to fall in love with an idol, you wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Jungkook was your other half, complementing you perfectly. Your relationship came with its fair share of heartaches and challenges, but the two of you were a great team, solving each new trial as it came your way.
The boys welcomed you into their family with wide open arms, agreeing that you were perfect for their little golden maknae. They teased the two of you relentlessly about your relationship, but always out of love and affection for you both.
Despite the fact that you were extremely close with all of the boys, there were certain things that you only confided in with Jungkook – one of which being your relationship experience, or rather lack of. Jungkook was actually your very first boyfriend, something that you tried not to advertise too much. You weren’t ashamed of your past and your decision to prioritize other things in your life up until this point, but you recognized that to the outside world, it was a very rare and weird occurrence that usually resulted in people asking what could possibly be wrong with you if you went twenty or so years without having a significant other.
You tried not to dwell on it too much, after all you had a boyfriend now and you were very happy together. All of the waiting had absolutely been worth it. However, with your lack of experience came a certain shyness. This was all so new to you and you wanted to take things slowly, something that Jungkook absolutely understood and never once made you feel guilty or insecure about. Sex was something that was completely off the table for the moment.  As you probably guessed, you were a virgin and had no plans of changing that status anytime soon. You loved Jungkook more than you could express and taking that step was definitely something you could imagine happening with him, even more frequently now as time continued to go on. However, that was still a huge decision and one you were not yet completely ready to make.
When you had finally opened up to Jungkook about that personal detail about yourself, you had been so nervous as to how he would react. You of course had had entirely nothing to worry about, though. Jungkook had been the absolute sweetest and most understanding person in the world, admiring you for sticking to your convictions and never compromising your values simply because others around you may or may not have been engaging in certain activities.
Although this was a part of your life that you accepted and something that you had had no regrets in sharing with Jungkook, it was also something that you found highly personal and didn’t want advertised, especially to your rowdy group of friends who you loved dearly, but who often did not know when a joke was being taken too far. You had asked Jungkook to keep that personal detail about yourself between the two of you and he had been quick to agree, pressing a sweet kiss to your mouth and promising that your secrets were always safe with him. You had had no reason to doubt him, believing wholeheartedly that he was 100% genuine and would never go back on his word to you. However, that unfortunately all changed one night as the eight of you were all hanging out together as was usual on a Friday evening.
While you and Jungkook were frequently in your own little couple’s world, you never forgot to make time for your best friends as well, not forgetting that if it hadn’t been for them and their incessant meddling, you and Jungkook might never have gotten together. That was why it had almost become ritual for the eight of you to gather together after a long week of work and relax, choosing to watch movies, play games, or simply just eat your weight in junk food.
And this night was no different. You were all gathered on the luxurious couches in their apartment, buried in blankets and snuggled in together. You were pressed firmly into Jungkook’s side, arms wrapped around one another, completely at peace in each other’s presence. Every so often, Jungkook would lean down and press a soft, sweet kiss to your face, alternating between your forehead, cheek, neck, and so on.
“Eh, Y/N?” A voice asked, pulling you out of your Jungkook-bubble.
“Huh?” You questioned, having missed the conversation that had been going on around you entirely. However, you felt like you couldn’t be blamed for your lack of attention. It was all Jungkook’s fault and his perfect, distracting kisses.
“Is that accurate?” Jimin asked, a teasing smirk on his face as he gestured to the movie playing on the screen, which you honestly hadn’t even paid a bit of attention to since it had started. You truthfully weren’t even sure what movie they had chosen. When taking a vote at the beginning of the night, you hadn’t cared too much. You usually spent your movie nights exactly as you were right now, wrapped in Jungkook’s arms and completely distracted and consumed by his presence.
“What?” You asked, looking around the room at the various teasing expressions of your friends, wondering what you had missed. You looked back up at Jungkook’s face to notice that his expression was just as mystified as your own, clearly having been just as wrapped up in you as you were in him.
“Is the movie portraying with accuracy the reality of being a twenty-something year old virgin?” Jin clarified.
Behind you, you felt Jungkook tense up while you merely furrowed your brows in confusion, not yet quite understanding why they were asking you this question; however, as you heard the sharp intake of breath from Jungkook behind you, your mind began to connect the dots, reality setting in as what you had believed to be impossible was actually coming true.
“What?” You whispered, still in a state of shock, your mind trying to catch up to what was going on around you.
“The movie,” Taehyung explained. “Is it accurate? We know Hollywood tends to dramatize these things. I’d never actually met a fully grown adult virgin before to confirm; however. Well, until we met you. I have to say, I was quite surprised though. I didn’t really believe Jungkookie at first when he told us,” Taehyung continued on, clearly not realizing the massive hole that he was currently digging for his friend as you mutely listened on.
“Jungkook told you?” You questioned, still not quite believing it. There was no one that you trusted more in this world than Jungkook. You had never had a reason to doubt his sincerity or trustworthiness, which was why your brain was now having trouble believing what was clearly being spelled out in front of you by your friends and their teasing grins as well as the suspicious silence from the man in question.
Reflexively, you moved away from Jungkook’s embrace, his hands following desperately after you only for you to move further away from him on the couch, silently communicating that being touched by him was the last thing you wanted in this moment.
Namjoon, Yoongi, and Hosoek exchanged glances, quickly realizing what was going on and that this was a piece of information that you had never intended to be shared with the whole group. Quickly, they tried to communicate this to the other members, but with no luck. They were finding too much entertainment in poking fun at you while you just sat there, at a loss for words.
“Hey, that’s enough,” Namjoon finally interceded, no longer able to ignore the look of distress on your face or the utter guilt consuming Jungkook’s own.
Numbly, you finally turned to face your boyfriend, accusation clear in your eyes. He gulped in response, knowing that he was in for it, and rightfully so. However, as you continued to gaze at him, the anger that initially consumed your features was replaced by something so much worse – hurt and betrayal.
“You told them?” You questioned in a broken tone. “After you promised me you understood how personal that was for me to share? That you wouldn’t talk about it with the others?”
The laughter quickly died off as the remaining BTS members realized what was happening, guilt rapidly beginning to form in the pits of their stomachs. They hadn’t realized that this was something you weren’t comfortable with sharing. They had figured that if you had shared that information with Jungkook and he had in turn told them, that it was something you were okay with discussing. They hadn’t meant to hurt your feelings at all. But clearly, the damage had already been done.
“Jagi,” Jungkook began, but then quickly broke off, not having an acceptable answer to your question. He had screwed up, a fact which was made quite clear by the pain in your eyes. Your happiness was one of the most important things in the world to him. He couldn’t stand to see you upset, much less when he knew that he was the cause of your hurt.
“No,” you cried, cutting off whatever useless defense he had been about to muster up. “I can’t believe you, Jungkook. I trusted you. This is exactly the situation I wanted to avoid and you knew that. You expressly told me that you wouldn’t say anything to the other boys, and then what? You go right around and do exactly what you had promised not to. I can’t believe you, Jeon Jungkook.”
“Y/N . . . I – I,” he broke off, completely at a loss, wanting to go over and comfort you, holding you in his arms and gently wiping away the tears that were rapidly forming in your eyes. But he couldn’t do that. Not this time. Not when he was the source of said tears. This was a position he hadn’t found himself in before. You and Jungkook were amazingly compatible. In the months that you two had been dating, you had had very few conflicts and those that you did have were always solved with discussion and an exchange of opinions and feelings. He had never made you cry before and it was a feeling he never wanted to experience again.
“No,” you declared, biting your lip and trying your best to hold in the cries that were trying desperately to leave your body. “I can’t be here anymore.”
Quickly, you stood up, making your way to the doorway and wasting no time in putting your shoes on and grabbing your bag before exiting the apartment, slamming the door with a resounding bang, that clearly communicated you did not want to be followed.
Jungkook was too in shock to even process this as he stared at the doorway you had practically just raced through. The other boys were in much the same predicament, not quite knowing how to respond, not only to your hasty departure, but also to the argument they had just witnessed. As previously mentioned, you and Jungkook never really fought, not in private, and definitely not in public. They were used to you and Jungkook being in perfect sync, the ideal couple, and the perfect counterpart for one another. You completed each other so perfectly that this was a scenario in which they never imagined witnessing, much less being a part of.
“Jungkook…?” Namjoon prompted gently, feeling sorry for the youngest member and the look of despair on his face, completely at a loss with how to process and handle this situation.
“What just happened?” Jimin interrupted. “I didn’t realize that it was a big secret?”
“I hadn’t either,” Hosoek chimed in. “Not until I saw the look on her face.”
“Why’d you tell us that, Jungkook?” Jin questioned, voicing the thoughts of everyone else in the room. “It sounded like she expressly told you not to share that bit of personal information, which I can honestly understand, especially considering that we did exactly what she had been trying to avoid.”
The boys looked down, ashamed at their actions. Yes, they had genuinely believed that this was something you were fine with openly sharing and therefore joking about, but they never should have poked fun at something so personal in the first place. They each resolved in their own minds to apologize to you the next time they saw you, hoping that you weren’t too upset with them.
Taehyung moved over to Jungkook, placing a hand on his shoulder and giving him a slight shake, attempting to rouse him from his bewildered stupor. “Jungkook?”
Jungkook jerked away, coming alive at once and finally tearing his gaze away from the door that you had left through.
After taking a quick glance around the room and the various expressions of concern and guilt on his friends’ faces, he jumped up, grabbing his phone and his keys before rushing out of the room after you, vowing to make this right with you.
***
After about an hour later and having gone to a number of different locations in order to find you, yet coming up empty, Jungkook walked through the entryway of your apartment, desperately praying that he would find you here. He would go insane if he didn’t find you soon and know that you were safe.
“Y/N-ah!” He called, receiving no reply in return.
His heart sank, ready to lose it completely as endless possibilities of what could have happened to you ran through his mind. However, he was able to sink fully into that mindset of despair, he heard a faint sniffle coming from the bedroom. Hurriedly, he stood to his feet, practically sprinting into your bedroom, only to find you curled up into a tiny ball at the center of the bed, surrounded and covered in pillows and blankets. His heart lurched at the sight of you crying and in pain, but at the moment, his relief that you were okay won out over anything else.
“Y/N!” He breathed, rushing to your side and enveloping you completely in his arms, moving the blankets out of the way so he could see your face.
However, he wasn’t expecting for you to push him away. He didn’t think you had ever turned down any sort of physical contact with him. You were usually the one to initiate it, in fact, always grabbing his hand, leaning your head against his chest, snuggling into his side, and so on. You shying away from him threw him off and gave him a feeling that he never again wanted to experience.
“No,” you whined, when he hesitantly reached towards you again. “Please leave,” you begged. “I don’t want you here right now, Jungkook.”
If Jungkook’s heart hadn’t broken before your previous actions, it absolutely shattered at your words to him now.
“Baby, please, I –“he struggled to express, trying and failing to come up with the words that would get you back in his arms, right where you belonged.
“I don’t want to talk, Jungkook,” you cried. “You really hurt me. Maybe you think I’m being dramatic, but this is a really big deal to me. You knew how hard it was for me to open up to you,” you accused, finally pulling the blanket away and revealing your broken form to Jungkook, his heart sinking at the sight of your red, tear-stained cheeks. “You knew exactly how personal that was and how much I wanted it to stay between you and I,” you continued. “You promised that you wouldn’t say anything and then you immediately went back on your word. How much time did it take for you to go running off to tell them? Did you all mock me together?”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” Jungkook exclaimed, shocked at where your thoughts were taking you. “Just wait a minute!”
You sniffled, jaw set stubbornly, but making no move to interrupt him surprisingly.
“We did not mock you, I would never do that,” Jungkook began, ignoring your quiet scoff of disbelief at his words. “And I know you have absolutely every right to not believe me,” he noted. “But I truly didn’t mean to break your trust. I did and I do understand how hard it was for you to open up to me and I appreciate and value that trust more than you know. I understand that I betrayed that trust that you had in me, and for that I am deeply sorry. I wish I had a good explanation, but I truly don’t. We were just hanging out one night and it kind of slipped out. I didn’t mean to tell them your private business, but once it was out, I couldn’t take it back, but I knew if I tried to convince them not to say anything that that would make them want to bring it up in front of you all the more. I was hoping that if I played it off that they would assume it was no big deal and never mention it again. Clearly, that was a very stupid plan, and I see that now. I should have been up front and honest with them and with you as well. But Y/N, baby, never doubt that I love you and that I have your back – 100%. I may mess up from time to time, in fact, I know I will,” he corrected. “But that doesn’t mean that I love you any less,” he breathed out, voice and eyes pleading with you to understand, to forgive him.
“I love you so much,” he confessed. “Don’t let my idiocy and insensitivity ruin what we have,” he begged. “I promise I won’t ever betray your trust like that again. Let me show you how much I mean it. Let me make it up to you.”
You simply stared back at him, wide-eyed, not quite expecting such a passionate apology from him.
“Say something,” he pleaded, unable to handle your silence.
“I’m not quite sure what to say,” you admitted, still a little in awe from his words.
“Then say you forgive me,” he requested, hand hesitantly inching forward to grab onto your own, taking it as a positive sign that you hadn’t pulled away from him once again.
You looked down at your intertwined hands, your heart thumping in response to his thumb gently stroking the skin along the back of your hand.
“You really didn’t mean to tell them?” You questioned in a small voice, your anger slowly melting away at both the heartfelt words and the adorable doe-eyes that were begging you for your forgiveness.
“No, baby, I didn’t,” he promised, squeezing your hand. “I would never do that to you intentionally. It was just one of those moments where I wasn’t paying attention to what I was saying and it slipped out. I knew right away that I had messed up, but I didn’t know what to do. I should have come to you right away though and confessed what had happened. We could have avoided this entire situation if I had just been honest with you.”
You nodded, unable to deny that before glancing down at your clasped hands once again. Although you were still upset with him, you couldn’t deny the sincerity in his eyes. You believed him and you believed that he understood the severity of what he had done. You knew that he loved you and would never do anything to intentionally harm you. Your relationship was something that was too precious to the both of you and although you were hurt, you knew that this would be something that you would be able to work through together. Seeing your smaller hand clutched in his larger one, you couldn’t deny that you and Jungkook just fit together. Everything was right when you were with one another.
Jungkook, having must have sensed your anger slowly melting away, prompted you softly. “Do you think you’ll be able to forgive me, jagiya?”
Without replying, you leaned forward to place your lips against his own in a gentle kiss, expressing all that you wanted to without words. And Jungkook, your other half, understood perfectly, returning the sentiment by pouring his own love and sincerity back into the kiss. The two of you continued on in your sweet embrace, allowing all of the hurt and anger to be swept away by each new kiss.
A few moments later, Jungkook gently pulled away, pressing soft kisses to your face, eliciting a sweet giggle from your lips.
Jungkook grinned in return, overjoyed and at perfect peace to be back in harmony with you – his love, his other half, his perfect partner in everything.
“I love you so much, Y/N,” he expressed, eyes gleaming and heart full. You were the only one who could make him feel like this and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I love you too, Kookie,” you echoed, once again leaning into him and allowing yourself to be swept away in the sweetness of his embrace, exactly where you belonged.

Matchablossom, 22
The vast majority of onlookers were greatly amused by the five year old screaming, "The cake is plastic!" like it was his burden to warn the entire reception hall that they were about to be poisoned. The real trouble was the passionate declaration of, "I don't want to be here! You have to take me home!" as he pulled away from his mother's grip, throwing his entire body into the gesture so he immediately fell to the floor as soon as he broke her hold on his arm.
Eri Nanjo was thoroughly shamed, not just by Kojiro's behavior and how she knew it reflected on her, but by knowing that not everyone would be easily fooled into thinking the next words her son shouted as he threw his flailing temper tantrum, "You don't want to be here either! We're going to grab the most expensive gift from the catalog and get out!" were just something he'd made up with the wild imagination of youth and not some tasteless, glib comment that had first come from her.
Eri tried to calm Kojiro down, quietly, calmly, not causing more of a scene, wishing Kazuhiku was there to play disciplinarian, but the small boy was having none of it. His shirt was strangling him. His mother had told him there was going to be karaoke later, but he wasn't supposed to participate in the singing. Now, he had discovered the pretty cake in the corner with all the decorations was plastic except for a piece for the bride and groom. He was sure he was oppressed. He'd heard his father use that word before. Oppression was a Very Serious Issue, but when Kojiro talked about it, he wasn't taken seriously.
Finally, Kojiro was picked up around the middle with a deep groan and a frustrated tone of, "If you're going to act like a baby, I suppose I'll have to treat you like a baby. We will talk about your behavior at home, and when your father is back from his trip, there will be consequences."
Kojiro could have twisted around more, kicked, made his mother drop him, even gone completely limp and turned himself into dead weight. He didn't. He tensed at first in shock, but then, perhaps just working on automatic instinct while he regained his bearings and plotted his next move, he helped right himself into an easier hold as his mother balanced him against her hip like he was a baby again, and wrapped his arms around her neck. He didn't even keep screaming, stupefied into silence by the indignity of it all (Lying on the floor hadn't been undignified. That was an organized protest from the oppressed).
"They have a plastic cake," he found the words of his best defense after a long moment, softened voice scratching from the previous wailing, begging his mother to consider the dire circumstances that had led him to madness. It would have been anyone's final straw. He wiped not just his nose but his entire face with the back of his sleeve, creating yet another etiquette error. "My hair is crunchy and it makes my brains crunchy too." Eri had put some gooey stuff in his hair to make it smooth instead of sticking up or curling at the back like it liked to. Kojiro was not the biggest fan. "Sorry, Mommy."
He wasn't sure his apology was enough. His mother was smiling again, but it was the type of smile she usually gave really slow cashiers at the store and people with big dogs they met on walks. That was a problem for future Kojiro though. "Your hair looks pretty, Mommy."
"Thank you." Eri patted it with her free hand to make sure the style really was still all in the right place. She wasn't sure how much of a mess she looked after struggling with Kojiro. Her most pressing worry in the moment was his shoes leaving dark marks on her kimono, however--though it was doubtful anything could embarrass her more. "And the cake is plastic so it can be a fancy centerpiece. We'll be served real cake from the kitchen after the bride and groom cut their piece. There's no reason to be upset."
"You should have said," Kojiro replied, regretful, still not for the tantrum, but for the trouble later that could have been avoided. Poor future Kojiro. And poor present Kojiro who was sat down in an uncomfortable chair at a table full of boring looking adults and not only no cake but no food in sight.
There was one other non-adult at the table. Kojiro hadn't seen him at first because he was slumped down in his chair as low as he could go, making it look empty, but then a pretty lady with flowers in her hair had ordered, "Say hello, Kaoru," and a tuft of bright pink hair and a pair of eyes covered by glasses much larger than should have been allowed on such a small face appeared over the edge of the table.
"Hello, Kaoru," the mumbled defiance came from the general direction of the eyes.
The pretty lady apologized, though to Kojiro's mother rather than to him, which adults were always doing.
"You look like a bug," Kojiro informed the eyes, conversationally.
"You look like a dumb monkey," the eyes shot back.
More rebukes and apologies came from the mothers, though the man seated to the left of the eyes let out a warm, booming laugh and pronounced that, "They're making friends! They're boys!"
"He's not a boy. He's a gorilla," the eyes retorted, beating Kojiro before he could call him a bug again.
"Did you make your hair pink to match the cake?" Kojiro swung his legs out as far as they would go, but couldn't reach to kick pink bug boy under the table.
"Yes," Kaoru said, suddenly serious, though only for a moment before he giggled. He scooted up in his chair a bit--possibly because Kojiro was getting closer to kicking him--revealing a lopsided smile that Kojiro found himself returning, even though he had been ready to swear pink bug boy his enemy not even a moment ago.
"Nuh uh," Kojiro shot back. "I know you. You're in my class. You always had pink hair."
"No way! I dyed it," Kaoru insisted. "I don't even go to kindergarten."
"Do too! You always take the best paint set when we do art."
"I need to practice. I'm going to be a famous artist." Kaoru pushed his giant glasses up his nose. "Or an astronaut. Or a robot."
"You can't be a robot when you grow up," Kojiro scoffed. "You build a robot."
"I'm going to build a robot and make it be my friend so I always have one." Kaoru turned serious once more, though this time it seemed a more serious kind of serious to Kojiro, not the joking, lying straight-faced kind of serious--and that made Kojiro's chest hurt for some reason. Kaoru was just a stupid bug boy with pink gum hair, but he should have a human friend. Kaoru's mom did that pursed lip and watery-eyed look adults did when you said something that made them sad, but she didn't say anything to Kaoru, instead talking to Kojiro's mom about "troubles with the move."
"A robot isn't a friend, dummy," Kojiro explained patiently, continuing before the red blotches that rose on Kaoru's bug face could turn into Kaoru yelling at him, and them both getting in trouble, "I can be a friend though. I'll be your best friend. I have two best friends already, but you can be one too."
"You want to be my friend?" Kaoru blinked incredulously.
"That's what I said. Do you have trouble hearing?" Kojiro tried one last time to kick Kaoru, who tucked his legs up on the chair and stuck his tongue out.
"What if I don't want to be your friend?"
The nerve of some bug-people. "I can do five jumping jacks and almost a cartwheel," Kojiro explained his most praiseworthy qualities. "And I am a really good frog catcher."
Kaoru's eyes lit up behind his glasses. "Do you have a pet frog? I have a pet frog. Her name is Carla."
"You should have brought her to the wedding!" Kojiro gasped, sitting up straighter.
"I tried!" Kaoru waved his hands in animated distress. "I wasn't allowed."
"That's dumb," Kojiro commiserated. He bet it was Kaoru's mom that said no. She wasn't as pretty now that he knew she was racist against frogs.
"You're dumb," Kaoru shot back, smiling through the unnecessary insult.
"No, you're dumb," Kojiro retorted, though it was just for the purposes of completing the conversation. Kaoru was cool for a paint stealer with stupid glasses. He had a pet frog. "Look! They have fire!" Kojiro shouted, all at once distracted as he caught sight of the bride and groom going from table to table, lighting candles all over the reception hall.
Kaoru rose up on his knees to see better, craning his neck and answering in an awed voice, "Fire is my very favorite thing in the world." His mother tried to interrupt with a bid for him to sit back down properly, but he didn't listen.
"No, it's robots," Kojiro volleyed back without a pause. "You want a robot best friend. You want to marry a robot."
"No, I want you for a best friend." Kaoru had another one of his weird, serious moments.
"Do you want to marry me too?" Kojiro tried to counteract his pink haired new friend's gravity.
"Can we have a lot more candles?" Kaoru asked.
Kojiro had expected to be called dumb again or for Kaoru to declare the idea gross, but this was better. He'd rather marry Kaoru and his pet frog than a girl. "Yeah! And a cake that isn't plastic!"
"The cake is plastic?" Kaoru stopped twisting around in his seat in order to scrunch his nose in distaste in Kojiro's direction. "They should go to jail."
And then was when Kojiro really knew they belonged together.

An Interview with Mr. Toshiyuki Toyonaga about Fire Emblem (Claude‘s Japanese VA), Pg. 7
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chatting As Just a Player
As a player, how did you play “Three Houses?”
Toyonaga     When I started, I planned to complete two playthroughs, and on my first playthrough, I didn’t look up anything at all.  Because of that, I didn’t know things like how to scout the characters from the other classes. Someone told me “It seems like you’re missing something,” and I thought, then maybe I have to raise their support level? But even when I did that, I still couldn’t recruit them, so next I thought that maybe it had to do with stats, and did a lot of trial and error. I only realized that it might have something to do with weapon proficiency (skill levels) and support levels during the latter half of the Academy Phase. Because of all of that, I was filled with wishes that I had recruited this character and that character as I was thrust into the War Phase, and I was filled with regret during the three-way battle. (Chapter 17 and the battle at Gronder)
Because you encountered the other students as enemies, right?
Toyonaga     Yes. I remember thinking “Curse you!!” when Bernadetta attacked from the ballista because I didn’t scout her. Laughs. Having to fight the characters that I wanted to come to my side was really painful as I cleared the map. And so, that was how I played the game. I remember thinking it was a particularly pure playthrough. I also remember thinking “There’s so, so many of these!” as I collected the fallen items from around the monastery. When I think of the lost items, I remember stuff like the fish. Laughs. Fishing was fun too, and so was growing things in the greenhouse… though I forgot about it a lot, so there were some plants that didn’t grow. As you can guess, I ended up harvesting what I planted before the time skip five years later, after returning to Garreg Mach.
Which difficulty level did you choose?
Toyonaga     On my first playthrough, I chose normal classic. I play with the thought process that has followed me throughout the series, that I can’t let anyone die, so I have never once chosen casual mode.
We’d like to ask you about what impressions you were left with when you played normal mode.
Toyonaga     I thought that even normal was hard too! I progressed through the game without utilizing the free maps much at all. I only leveled up by completing the main maps and paralogues, so the War Phase was tough. There were many times where Claude and Byleth did nearly all of the work. I also gave Lysithea Lorenz’s Thyrsus Staff, giving her four range, so there were also a lot of situations where her magic did a lot of work even from far away. There ended up being a huge gap between Leonie and Ignatz’s levels and everyone else’s, and felt sorry about that as I continued through the game.
Did you make Lorenz a physical or a magic unit?
Toyonaga     I made Lorenz a Dark Knight. He was closer to a dark mage cavalry unit. Also, I remember thinking it was kinda cool that Grappler Raphael could attack four times in a row as he punched his enemies with all his might. Marianne fulfilled the role of the healer, and Hilda swung around her axe with great force. However, my Hilda’s defense didn’t grow very much, so I kept it in my mind that she couldn’t go out on many risky missions as I played.
What scenes did you like, or what scenes left an impression on you?
Toyonaga     I liked the mystery of the scenes where Byleth and Sothis spoke in the place that resembled a throne room, that was a sort of spirit world. I also really liked Seteth and Flayn’s conversations.
They’re all characters that are all similar to each other in some way!
Toyonaga     They are. When their allies learned of Flayn and Seteth’s true identities and relationship, a lot happened, and their allies changed a bit… Aside from that, because Claude is an archer, I also really liked being able to hear his conversations with Shamir, as they are both archers. It felt like she was a big sister.
The developers said that this game’s storytelling, and the creation of how noble society functions, among other aspects, were developed with Genealogy of the Holy War in mind, so what sort of impression did that have on you, as someone who has many memories of that game?
Toyonaga     There were many times where I thought that might be the case, that Three Houses was based on Genealogy, but as we talk about it now, I sort of think that might be why it was so easy for me to become fond of Three Houses… They both feature a type of war that doesn't really feel rewarding at all… And questions like “Who’s really behind all of this?” and “Is fighting this fight really what’s right?”, that deepened Genealogy's story, were things I also felt really strongly during the War Phase of Three Houses.
We agree! And you can even play the villain’s side of the story.
Toyonaga     About that, I thought that Hubert and Dedue’s roles were so unfair! They are considered the closest confidants to Edelgard and Dimitri respectively, existing as their right-hand men. The Golden Deer don’t have anyone in that position… Lorenz would never be someone like that.
Both     Laugh.
Toyonaga     Lorenz finally comes to support Claude during the War Phase, but the way that Hubert and Dedue are so devoted because they are right-hand men is really moving, and as men, it’s so cool! Oh, I mean “man,” as in “manly man...”* I could talk on and on like this for five minutes about just one character. Laughs.
Tumblr media
(above) Hubert and Dedue both serve their lord without any concern for their own well-being. Also, Mr. Toyonaga also told us that he didn’t choose a different class from the Golden Deer even for his second playthrough, so we showed him scenes like how manly (!?) Hilda acts when she faces Claude as an enemy.
Tumblr media
It feels weird to hear your own voice
Did your impression of Claude change after recording?
Toyonaga     My original impression of Claude was that his core personality cannot be changed, but aside from that, he gives off the mood that he has the flexibility to accept the opinions of many types of people… That sort of image. That part didn’t change the entire time we were recording, so after recording, I don’t think my thoughts changed then, either. I just thought from time to time that he says some pretty snobby things. Laughs.
He does. Laughs.
Toyonaga     He talks like that to the professors, to his fellow students in his class… ‘He… He can say nasty things like that?!’ I thought. But I think it’s still a good part about him, or not bad, at least.
So your image for performing Claude’s role was consistent from beginning to end. Does that mean that you didn’t have to do many retakes?
Toyonaga     We hardly did any retakes. I corrected myself on my own when I mispronounced town names that were difficult to say, and things like that, but aside from those physically difficult to perform lines, I don’t feel that we did that many retakes.
So how did you feel as a player when you heard Claude’s voice?
Toyonaga     This much is obvious, but when I first heard my own performance in a Fire Emblem game, it felt weird. And on top of that, I don’t know why exactly, but I wanted Claude to get married and have a paired ending, and I chose Professor Byleth. So I ended up confessing to myself! Laughs.
Laughs.
Toyonaga     I enjoyed the game in a way that only I could. But it was really weird the entire time. Hm, how do I put it… I wanted to express myself in the world of Fire Emblem, and wanted to confirm that I did a great job of that, so I listened really carefully to my own performance as I played the game.
That’s the point you discussed before, that you wanted a portrayal that made the game feel like it really happened in history, right?
Toyonaga     Yes. Was I able to express what I wanted how I wanted? I played the game with that thought in my head. ...And lastly, this is completely unrelated, but as I played the game, I was also thinking “Ingrid sure is really cute!” the entire time. Laughs.

Mismatch- Part 6
Bio Dad Bruce Wayne Month 2020
Sibling bonding at its finest, fighting and breaking rules
First< Previous> Next
----
“Maman, Papa, we’re fine,” Marinette holds the phone between them.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come home?” Tom asks through speaker phone.
“No Papa, Nette worked hard for this trip,” Marion insists, they are sitting in the back of Bruce's car with him and Selina in the front.
“We both work-”
“Both want to stay, that's right,” Marion cuts her off, grinning at her glare, “Besides we have things to do here remember ?”
“Ok, but if you change your minds,” Sabine frets, they do have a concert coming up.
“We’ll be on the first flight back,” Marinette agrees, Aunt Selina leans back and she holds up the phone for her.
“Don’t worry Tom, I’ll keep them out of trouble,” She tells her brother.
“You’re the last person I trust to do that,” Tom laughs from the other end of the line.
“Rude,” She glares down at the phone.
“I’m sure you’ll do just fine,” Sabine speaks over her husbands laughter.
“Thank you Sabine, you're my favourite person in Paris,” She winks at the twins, whispering "Right now,"
"Hey!" Tom shouts from the phone.
“Of course,” Sabine chuckles over her husband,“We have to go back to the bakery now,”
“We’ll talk later,” Tom promises, "Have fun,"
“See ya,” Selina sits back upright.
“Bye Papa, Maman,” Marinette moves to hang up
“Also we met Aunt Selina's fiance! Bye!" Marion blurts, everyone in the car freezes.
“WHA-” Marion hangs up.
“Marion! That was…..” Their Aunt shouts before giggling, turning into full blown laughter,“... That was so…”
The twins start laughing as well, making her give up on whatever lecture she was going to launch into.
“Selina, your phones ringing,” Bruce says, as she calms down.
“Yeah, it’s probably going to do that for awhile,” Selina turns it to silent and ignores the call, then turns to Marion,“Don’t ever do that again,”
“Are you planning on getting remarried?” Marion asks cheekily.
“Quite the thing to admit in front of your fiance,” Marinette adds, glancing at Bruce to see he is also smiling slightly. Years with Kagami had trained her to notice those hints of emotion.
“Brats,” She huffs turning back around.
“We love you,” They chorus.
“Brats,” Selina shakes her head fondly just as they approach the gates.
Marinette stares in awe at the large estate. The architecture and gardens immediately had her pulling out her sketch book to jot down ideas. She gets pushed out of the car by Marion and keeps drawing as they walk towards the Manor doors.
"You're home is beautiful," Marinette compliments Bruce.
"Thank you, I think so too," Bruce says as the doors open.
“Welcome home, Master Bruce, Miss Selina,” Alfred stands in the doorway, “And you, Miss Dupain-Cheng and Mr Cheng-Dupain, welcome to Wayne Manor.”
“It’s good to see you again, please, just Marinette's fine,” Marinette puts away her sketchbook.
“Yeah, I'd rather you just call me Marion,” Marion beams at him, before whispering, “Did we even tell you our last names?… witchcraft,”
“Very well, please come this way,” Alfred guides them into the Manor, stopping outside a door, "Master Damian is waiting, I must be off to prepare dinner,"
"Thank you Alfred," Bruce tells the butler as he leaves.
They enter the living room type area. A boy who couldn't even be thirteen yet stands. 'He's so small' Marinette thinks to herself.
"Father," He glares at her and Marion.
“This is my son Damian,” Bruce introduces, “Damian met Marinette and Marion,”
“It’s nice to meet you,” Marinette smiles, holding her hand out.
“Tt” Damian looks away, getting a glare from Bruce before taking her hand, “... Likewise,”
Selinas phone buzzes again. Drawing attention away from the insincere tone.
“I should probably answer them, or they’ll never leave us alone,” Their Aunt sighs taking out her phone, “Bruce come with me, I’m sure they’ll want to meet you,”
“Is this going to be a pleasant conversation?” He asks.
“No its going to be very painful,” Marinette smiles, knowing they were about to have a very long conversation with her over excited Papa. He would probably have planned their wedding by the time they manage to hang up.
“Right,” Bruce says hesitantly, he turns to Damian with a pointed look, “Behave,”
"Tt," is Damian's response as he is left alone with them.
Marion sits down. Marinette follows sitting next to him on one of couches, surprised at how soft it is. Damian sits down on an armchair, picking up a book.
“So, Damian how old are you?" Marinette asks, after a full minute of silence
“12,” He doesn't look up from his book
“... We’re 18, twins if you couldn't tell,” Marion steps in gesturing between them.
“I could,” Damian answers shortly.
“Right... so what are your hobbies?” Marinette tries again.
“... painting,” Damian concedes under her expectant gaze.
“Oh, can we see?” She asks excitedly.
“No,” Damian snaps. She doesn't let that discourage her, she doesn't like showing strangers her designs. Apart from the millions of strangers who see her designs anyway.
“Alright, I get that," Marion shares the sentiment, "What about-Oh my god,”
“What?” Damian finally looks up from his book, scanning the room for the cause of his outburst.
“Kitty!” Marion practically leaps from the couch to get a better look at the cat sauntering across the room.
“Oh no,” Marinette sighs watching her brother melt over the cat.
“That’s Alfred,” Damian tells them eyeing the cat and Marion with mild amusement.
“After Alfred, Alfred your butler?” Marinette tries not to snicker at the name.
“Yes, pennyworth is his namesake,” Damian nods, glare daring Marinette to laugh.
“Can I pet him?!” Marion pleads, with baby-doll eyes  that could put Manon to shame.
“You can try, Alfred is very selective about who pets him,” Damian grants, and Marion sits on the ground, inching closer.
“I wouldn’t worry, Mari has a way with cats,” Marinette smirks, thinking back to the time she had to fight an Akuma alone because he was being smothered by cats.
“Come here Alfred,” Marion rubs his hand on the ground, Alfred watching closely.
“Do you have any other pets?” Marinette asks, Damian puts down his book.
“I have Titus, a great dane,” Damian watches as Alfred gives in and pounces on Marion’s hand, “Batcow, self explanatory,”
“Bat-cow mutant?” Marion guesses letting Alfred sniff his hand.
“No,” Damian's irritation shows, “She has patch shaped like the Bat symbol,”
“Oh, that was my second guess,” Alfred lets Marion scratch behind his ear.
“Can we see them?” Marinette excited over meeting Batcow.
“They’ll be around here somewhere, roaming the manor grounds,” Damian responds, non committaly.
“Alfred the Cat, feels weird to call them both Alfred,” Marion muses, Damian looks surprised as the cat climbs into this lap.
“Have you any pets?” Damian asks his first question about them.
“No, we live in a bakery so it would be a health code violation,” Marinette answers sadly. She doubts a box of animal type Kwamis are regulation either but no one has to know about that.
“Al-at? no,” Marion talks to himself, or more likely the cat.
“That’s a shame,” Damian acknowledges monotonously, watching as Alfred the cat starts to purr as Marion scratches his chin.
“We did try to sneak strays in when we were little,” Marinette is unwilling to let the conversation drop.
“Ca-Fred, Cat-Fred!” Marion exclaims, apologising seconds later to the newly dubbed Cat-fred for startling him.
“Try?” Damian sneers.
“The first few times were a disaster, we didn’t get past the front door,” Marinette explains, “Maman and Papa would send them to the shelter straight away,”
“At least they didn’t put them back out on the street,” Damian muses.
“They would never,” Marion responds, in baby talk directed at Cat-fred.
"You don't have to use that ridiculous voice," Damian scolds.
"I know," Marion answers, in the same voice, Damian glowers.
“As we got older we started being able to actually get them inside before being found out,” Marinette distracts him from Marion's taunting.
“One of us would be the distraction and the other snuck in, with a sleeping cat or dog, that one we learnt the hard way,” Marion uses a normal voice, still showering Cat-fred with attention.
“I think that is how I got my reputation for being clumsy,” Marinette sighs, it was always left up to her to distract their parents by knocking something over while Marion snuck in.
“What can I say? Cats love me,” Marion proves his point as Alfred turns over, letting him see his belly.
“I can see that,” Damian seems amused as much as he is surprised.
“At first, they’d find them in a few hours, so we learnt by trial and error,” Marinette continues, relaxing into the couch. "We must have taken in at least a hundred strays,"
“I think the last one we had managed a few months before we go found out,” Marion guesses, they hadn't tried again since the received their miraculous.
For one because they couldn't afford their parents searching their room regularly and coming across the Kwamis. However being the heroes of Paris had also proven effective in getting people to adopt. Usually the first person they asked would immediately agree, if they were suited up.
“So how many more pets have you managed to smuggle in?” Marion stage whispers to Damian, the gap between them being too big to actually whisper, “In a place this big should be easy,”
“I’ve tried… Pennyworth has caught me each time,” Damian admits, looking down at the almost asleep Cat-fred.
“That man is a witch,” Marion declares with certainty.
“What?” Damian seems taken aback.
“He appears out of nowhere and knows too much,” Marion provides what Marinette is sure he considers evidence.
“Hn, that is true,” Damain starts to share his multiple accounts of such behaviour.
The three fall into easy conversation after that listening to and sharing stories.
“I must be going insane,” All their eyes snap to a man standing in the doorway “Demon spawns actually getting along with someone,”
“Todd,” Damian acknowledges coldly.
“Hi,” Marion waves with far more friendliness, “I’m Marion, this is Marinette, your names Todd was it?”
“Jason actually, I lived here and drop by every now and then, mainly when Alfred asks," He explains, sitting on another couch near Marion, "Heard about you had a run in with a villain today,”
“Did you?” Damian asks, the two having avoided it in their conversation so far.
“Yeah, got an earful from Aunt Selina,” Marion laughs nervously.
“Did you get hurt?” Jason looks over Marion, concern written all over his face.
“What? No I’m fine thanks,” Marion smiles, Marinette rolled her eyes she stretches her leg to press to his bruised side, "Ow! Nette!"
"No lying," She shrugs as Marion turns to her. Cat-fred runs at the sudden movement, making Marion pout.
"Rich coming from you," He mutters, turing back to see the look on Jason's face, "My side just a little bruised, doesn't hurt unless someone, oh i don't know, kicks me!"
"I didn't kick you, you drama queen," Marinette sticks her tongue out at him and he copies.
“Did Selina train you?” Damian reverts the conversation.
“A little when we were younger, we still to spar together,” Marinette pretends to go for a kick to his side again, expecting the easy block.
"One of the few instances we're allows to punch each other," Marion jokes, "Although I think I'll hold off for now, you're not above using my injury to your advantage,"
"I'm resourceful," Marinette corrects, "Also, now you're hurt when you're afraid to get you're ass beat?"
"Such crass language, young lady," Jason teases, Marinette pokes her tongue out again.
"I can spar you if Marion is unwilling," Damian offers, Marion grumbles something along the lines of 'I never said that'.
"Right now?" Marinette sizes him up, she could tell he had some training.
"If you want," Damian also starts to size her up.
"Hold up now, you can't do this," Jason steps in, Marinette starts to deflate, "In here, Alfred would stop you, lets go outside,"
She perks up, following Jason, Marion and Damian outside to a clear area of grass. She toes off her shoes and socks, knowing they were steel capped and would cause some serious damage. She also pulls off her scarf, not willing to give him any advantage. Damian keeps his shoes on, clicking his tongue. They start to circle each other, waiting for someone to make a move. Marinette feels the grass beneath her feet, she feels more like Ladybug in a way.
Damian breaks the standoff, lunging at her. Marinette side steps at the last second, reminding herself to tone it down. She tries to make use of the opening by getting behind him, but Damian instantly pivots to keep her in front of him. Marinette takes note he's a lot faster than anticipated and decides to test it. She makes the next move forward throwing a few punches to see how he reacts. Damian easily dodges each one, Marinette realises that she is unprepared to fight someone smaller than her. They did occasionally have to fight Akumatised children but that was with superpowers. She had never actually gone hand to hand with someone smaller.
Taking this into consideration she adjusts to a style she uses more when sparring Marion. They're both about the same size and he's fast so she can rarely use his weight against him like she usually would. Marinette stops trying to get behind Damian, instead planning to send him to the ground, knowing she had the size advantage. Damian seemingly notices this change and adjusts his defences.
'how well is he trained?' Marinette asks herself. Damian tries to goad her into attacking, throwing out punches. Marinette doesn't rise to the bait, dodging and blocking. Marinette dances around their sparring area, testing Damian's stamina while waiting for an opening. She sees her chance and is about to move into counter attack.
"Damian!" They both pause looking toward the manor to see Bruce and Selina.
"Marinette! what do you think you're doing?" Aunt Selina storms towards them.
"Uh... bonding?" She laughs nervously.

Guilt and Consequences Pt8
AO3   Beginning  Previous   Next
Lila had no idea how long she sat there, trying to remember anything about her father, or supposed sister, but she came up completely blank. Considering how young she had to have been in that dream it made sense, but it was still frustrating. Her mother never mentioned her father, let alone any other family. Lila remembered asking once, after she’d been put in a school for the first time because the other kids asked her about it. She’d lied to them of course, but it had made her curious. That question had gotten her grounded for a month so she never brought up the subject again.
Maybe that was why her mother disliked her. If she’d been the cause of her father’s death it would make sense. Well, assuming her mother actually loved the man. Given that there was nothing in her life to indicate he even existed except Lila herself she highly doubted it. None of this made sense. And that was before she added in the possible sister that most likely wasn’t her mother’s daughter. If her dream was at all accurate, she looked nothing like them and spoke with an American accent. So a half sister most likely. The next question was obviously what had happened to her? Lila felt fairly confident that they’d both made it out of that building, even if she didn’t know why, so the most likely scenario is that she went to live with her mother or other family. It was probably for the best. Given the way the woman treated her, Lila didn’t even want to think about how she’d be with someone else’s kid she got stuck with.
“Are you alright?” Lila started and looked up to find Ladybug’s concerned look. When had she gotten back? When did it get dark for that matter? She stood up before answering.
“Fine.” That actually wasn’t a lie. She was always fine.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Lila just shook her head. She preferred to work things out on her own for one. Even if she didn’t she wouldn’t make someone whose life she’d made more difficult listen to her issues. Ladybug sighed. “Thanks for the tip on Alya’s powers. Granted, once I told Chat the fight took five times as long because I had to keep him from purposely getting hit, but that was my error in judgement.” Lila looked over to see a grimace on the hero’s face and frowned at her.
“Why in the world would he try to get hit?” That was possibly the stupidest thing she’d heard of. Ladybug just shrugged.
“To find out my identity. He figured he could get hit and have someone ask him. Again, it’s my fault for not realizing he’d try that. He’s always been extremely unhappy that we have to keep our identities secret from each other. I think he’s just lonely to be honest.” She looked so tired and Lila felt her temper spike the way it did when she found out what the class had done to Marinette. Why did everyone seem to think this type of thing was normal or okay?
“I don’t care if he’s completely isolated from the world, there’s no reason he should be putting you and all of Paris, or worse, at risk just because he wants to infringe on your boundaries. You shouldn’t have to put up with that period, especially when it makes your job harder.” The girl just blinked at her in confusion and Lila had to wonder what the hell was going on in this city. No, she didn’t have the greatest home life or example but she read a lot. She’d been through enough psychological books and journals to know that none of this was right. Why didn’t anyone seem to see that?
“I should probably get you home.” Ladybug wouldn’t even look her in the eye. Great, she’d screwed up, again. She wanted to apologize but she didn’t know where to even start. With her track record it probably wouldn’t come off as sincere anyway.
“If you just want to get me down to the street I can walk. There’s no reason for you to waste your time on it.” She winced when she realized how harsh that sounded. She really was terrible at social interactions.
“Making sure you get home safe isn’t a waste of time, especially after dark. Your mom’s probably worried.” Lila couldn’t help the derisive snort that left her. Even if she was in the city it was doubtful she’d care unless Lila’s absence became a problem for her. “I’m sure your mother cares about you.”
“I’m sure my mother regularly wishes I’d never been born.” It was moments like these that Lila wished her mouth would consult her brain before opening, but she was certain that wouldn’t ever happen. Ladybug was looking at her with a horrified expression. “Sorry, I’m just tired.”
“Are you sure you don’t want to talk?” Lila nodded. Talking didn’t do anything so there really was no point.
“I just want to sleep.” It wouldn’t be a good sleep, but it was better than nothing. Especially since she had to go back to school tomorrow. She didn’t even want to think about that trainwreck.
-------------------------------------------------------------
The next morning started off as badly as she expected it to. Over half the class cornered her in the courtyard demanding to know why she was pretending she’d been lying. By the time they’d given up she’d was hoping for an aneurysm just to be able to stop listening to this nonsense. Then Adrien had shown up to lecture her about getting Alya Akumatized. She’d honestly never wanted to hit someone so much in her life, but she did manage to refrain. She couldn’t refrain from calling him a spineless coward, but that at least got him to walk off in a huff.
“Lila!” She started cursing internally until she realized that had been Marinette’s voice. When she looked over the girl was running towards her waving some papers with a huge grin on her face. That was… weird. As she got closer Marinette tripped on a crack in the pavement and Lila had to move to catch her.
“Are you trying to kill yourself? The idiot squad is going to think you were trying to fall on me on purpose, and I really don’t want to have to deal with one more problem today.” Marinette just gave her a sheepish look. She really had no clue how bad things were.
“I found the perfect school for you!” For some reason her brain refused to understand that sentence.
“I… you… what?” Marinette shoved the papers she was holding in Lila’s face, far to close for her to be able to read anything.
“Look! The classes are by skill level not age so you won’t be bored like you are here. They do small class sizes and even have options for individual study so you can basically make your own curriculum. They’ve got one of the top computer programs in the country and they have a photography club too. Isn’t it great?” Lila finally managed to get the paper out of Marinette’s hands so she could actually read it and realized it was a brochure for a private academy.
“Even if I wanted to, my mother wouldn’t pay to send me to a place like this. Half the reason she keeps sending me to school is to not have to pay for tutors. Besides I’m not going to go off and leave you alone in this asylum. Especially given that the staff are just as bad as the inmates for the most part.” Marinette just gave her a confused frown.
“They’ll calm down in a few days, you’ll see. The school has scholarships you can apply for and look.” She pointed to a section at the bottom of the brochure. “They even have on site housing so the next time your mom has to move for her job you could stay there so your studies don’t get interrupted again.” Lila would admit it was tempting. Truthfully, her mother might pay for it if it meant she didn’t have to see her at all. She scanned the paper and an idea formed.
“I’ll go if you go.” Marinette just blinked at her so she pointed out the possible educational tracks. “There’s an art and design program that would give you a much better education for the future you want than anything you’ll get here. You need to start thinking about your future as well.”
“But I can’t just leave all my friends.” Lila wanted to slam her head into a wall. It would probably hurt less. She’d have to talk to Marinette’s parents. They at least would think about their daughter’s wellbeing and have a much better chance of getting her to do what was best for her.

Mr. Park’s return
So, I’m not sure what to make of this really... like it’s not really a sickfic thing - I don’t know.. it might be, I’ll just say it classifies, it’s more of like a little continuation bit in this series and because I felt like writing about it... I’ve had this sitting with me for a while, so I may as well post it.. it felt a bit everywhere, there’s some knew characters I just tossed in because I needed too and we’ll just see where that leads, yeah?
[there is probably grammatical errors, my first language is English I just can’t proof read - its a rough life] anyway, I hope this is somewhat enjoyable, its kind of a mess
This is supposed to be just a small filler type thing I guess
Snz based but like its rather mild.
‘Sickie’ : Jimin / [Felix? its faint really]/ [Yoongi is mentioned, but yeah]
 Hybrid AU
 Part 1,  Part 2 , Part 3
Word count: 5376
I tossed some Stray Kids in here because I love them too.
Tumblr media
“Good morning everyone.” Jimin smiled at the class of juniors settling in their seats as warmly as he could considering that he was still trying to recover from days of fever. He still felt tired and a weak, with some lingering symptoms, but he was tired staying at home doing nothing.  He needed to work again, get back into a routine so that he wasn’t lazing around all the time. So, he had suited up in warm clothes and more makeup than usual to hide the dark rings that had still not left him.
The class stared at him with a mix of confusion and curiosity before greeting him with about the same enthusiasm he had done to them. He supposed that was fair, it wasn’t like they knew who he was really.
He cleared his throat, dropping the exam booklets onto the desk set up in the front of the room, before continuing on with as much forced giddiness as he could manage. No one wanted to head into an exam with a dark unwelcoming mood, so if he could brighten it by even an inch then he would be happy.
“I’m Mr. Park, I’ll be your teacher for this exam.” As if to serve as a reminder, something caught in his throat and he smothered a small bout of coughs into his arm. “Please excuse my voice, I’ve been a little under the weather.”
It didn’t take long before a few voices rose up, which was not surprising considering majority of the class had probably never seen him before. it had become blatantly obvious that most of the students had wanted to spend much more attention on their paper. He didn’t blame them, anyone would want to be distracted from exams and he usually wouldn’t mind, he loved to gossip and get to know the students and they always seemed to be as interested in him as he was in what they were like, but even with the amount of lozenges he’d sucked on that morning already, his voice was definitely going to give out if he spoke for long.
 “What do you teach Sir?”
“You look so young.”
“Mr. Park! What are you doing here?”
“Are you new?”
“What type of Hybrid are you?”
Jimin looked to students who had spoken up. Most dressed or styled slightly different from the standard uniform, clearly these were the usual extrovert favourites. He tried to ignore the more intrusive questions and focus more on the ones of innocent curiosity. A wide grin split across his face and his sight narrowed as he recognised one girl that he taught in modern contemporary. Jimin pressed his square framed glasses further up his nose, his tail flicking as the girl waved her arm wildly from the back of the class.
“Sana? Oh, it’s weird seeing you out of class.” Jimin chuckled lightly, giving a small wave in return. “Most of you probably won’t know me, but I’ve been a part of the dance faculty for I think about three years now. I usually only interacted in the other art departments during these times, but this year the school thought it would be better to shift things around a bit. I think I only know Sana… oh wait, Soobin’s here too. Wow, it feels like forever since I’ve seen you two…” His chest warmed with the pleasure of seeing at least some of his kids.
“Sir, what are you doing back?” Soobin grinned and leant forward from when he sat on top of his friends desk. “Mr. Jung said that you probably wouldn’t be back for at least another week.”
“Not quite.” Jimin corrected, moving closer to his student. “It’s just not as heavy a work-load as usual. Are you ready for your exams? And you Sana? I feel so bad for not being there in your final sessions.”
“I think we’re both glad that you rested rather than pushed to be there with us.” Sana grinned, packing away her English textbooks. “I haven’t done mine yet but Soobin had his exam yesterday.”
Jimin’s eyes shot to the boy who merely shrugged, although the bright flash in the fae boys eyes led Jimin to believe he did better than he wanted to portray. Which was good. Great, actually. His students were amazing.
“Ahhh… why do I get the feeling that none of you did any real dancing while I was away… Anyway, don’t stress over it. Deep breathes and smooth lines. It’s nothing you haven’t done before.” Jimin countered to Sana before stepping back to address the class once again, coughing into his arm again – slightly harsher this time. He answered and entertained a few more questions from the students that he didn’t know before finally calling it. “Okay, we should probably start soon. May everyone please start packing away any studying material. And is everyone present for this exam?”
“Mr. Park, Sir.” A trio of girls, each with unique traits that led him to believe they were all either warlocks or fae, waved to him from the side of the class closest to the wall of windows.
 “Yes?”
“So, you’re a dancer, Mr. Park? Can you show us something?” The one with golden eyes smirked and Jimin’s chest tightened, knowing that her suggestive tone wasn’t one of humour or general curiosity. Kids. They were kids.
“I am, but we have more important things.” He chose to ignore the low whining that erupted from them. “Clear your desks please, you don’t seem to be going over notes anyway. I am assuming that everyone is here, which means we are going to begin.”
He returned to the desk without glancing at the girls again. The session had officially started.
Once desks were clear he began to hand out transcripts, only letting them turn through the pages once each student had one. It was a bit of a struggle, with how hoarse his voice was quickly becoming – given that he hadn’t needed to use it as much in the past few days as he was now, but he managed to read through the paper with them to make sure there were no immediate errors then set them forth on the 3-hour paper. Even though it made him drowsy he snuck a few pills in after he stifled a sneeze into his wrist. He wanted to try keep any and all symptoms to a minimum as to not distract anyone, but it was difficult when the class only had the scribbling sound of pens on paper to fill it with noise.
He sipped the tea from his flask that he was certain Yoongi had spiked with some type of herbal energy booster before Jimin had left that morning. The hybrid couldn’t help the wholesome warmth that ran through him at the thought of the worrisome warlock. Despite Yoongi being powerful and often intimidating to those who didn’t know him, Jimin knew that the elder was in-fact a big softy that was usually too shy to address things that  stressed him out. Especially if it was about the people he cared for. Instead he was prone to small actions that he thought would help lift any burdens or stressors, for both him and whoever he helped – in this case, Jimin. Yoongi hadn’t even wanted him to start at the school again yet, even for short hours, but after the hybrid had spoken some sense into him – that it was Jimin’s job and everyone, including Yoongi himself, had  worked while sick at some point – Yoongi eventually caved.
Although that didn’t stop him from being a bit clingier than usual, and definitely didn’t stop him from wrapping Jimin entirely in the Warlocks clothes so that his scent was with him all day. Not that Jimin minded being completed drenched in the elders scent and the clothes that were just a bit too big for him always made him feel warm and comforted. The last week that Jimin had spent at home with his boyfriend had been amazing, even if he had been a miserable mess for most of it.
Jimin had just finished firing off emails to the other dance staff members about how everything was going with the dance exams and if there are still students looking for last minute help when he felt the sad realisation that his med’s had been easing off. He hadn’t brought enough for a second dose and he could already feel his nose starting to run. The exam was almost over, just another hour or so and then he was free to be a mess again. But that wasn’t what his body had in mind.
He’inxshew… hih..Hieshxngt hXNGst..
 Damn it.
Jimin sniffed and wiped at his nose with a tissue. Thankfully he had thought to bring quite a few of the tissue travel packs with him, Yoongi had tried to slip an entire box of Kleenex into Jimin’s bag but the hybrid found that to be a bit excessive. His tail curled around his waist as he felt the gazes of a few of the students that were already finished or were checking through their work, but there wasn’t much he could do about it. He sniffed repeatedly, trying to be as soft and quiet as possible but it only seemed to make matters worse as he snapped forward with another sneeze that he caught by pinching at his nose. Stifling was a bit painful, especially with how congested he had been, but he would bear with it.
He stifled four more before he had to come to terms with the fact that he could not try to sniffle to keep it at bay anymore. So he claimed fresh tissues to blow his nose, wincing and sending apologetic eyes to the students at the wet gurgling sound that filled the room. Jimin’s face was heated and he swallowed hard trying to work past his embarrassment. The students probably didn’t even care that much. But he still felt like the floor should open to let him fall through it.
He perked as a hand shot up, the student mouthing for more paper. Jimin threw away his tissues, doing his best to ignore how gross he was momentarily felt, and after a quick squirt his trusty hand sanitiser that Jin made him carry,  he was up and handing out pages. Taking that moment of already being up to slowly walk around and check if anyone else needing anything from him. He tried not to linger too much when he noticed Soobin gnawing at his bottom lip. A quick glance and Jimin could tell that the boy was struggling with understanding some of the things being asked of him and he didn’t want to add any extra pressure of being hovered over. Clearly the boy was unfortunately – in this case - closer inclined to the creative arts than he was to general studies.
 “Si-Sir?”
Jimin followed the soft whisper to a thin, pale dog hybrid who looked anxious just to have to look Jimin in the eye. Jimin cleared his throat to try get rid of the insistent itch that seemed to plague him and leant down so that the boy wouldn’t have to look up at him when he spoke. It wasn’t often that someone reacted intimidated by Jimin, so he was left a bit unsure. The few handfuls of times that he could remember being anything close to scary were strictly associated with his dancers or the few times he got into arguments with his friends, but usually everyone saw him as a soft and gentle hybrid that they could either try to walk all over or have pleasant easy conversations with. No real threat.
Jimin rested his hand on the edge of the desk to steady himself, then silently inclined his head to indicate that the boy could continue.
 “I-I don’t feel.. feel well.”
Jimin gently rested a hand on the boys back only to frown at how sharp the hybrid’s bones were beneath his clothing. “What do you mean? Are you stressed? Sick? Do you feel nauseous?”
The boy merely nodded and swallowed loudly, sinking further away from Jimin.
“Do you want to go to the nurse?” he asked softly. Looking more closely at the boys’ face, his oddly sharp facial structure and sunken cheeks. He had originally seen the bruises under the boys eyes as a part of the exam season stress but maybe there was something else happening.. When he got the nod of approval Jimin set his hand on the boys exam paper. “Do you want to keep this for now, or should I take it?”
 “Take it.”
Okay then. Jimin stood up, slipping the exam paper from the students desk, and bringing it back to his station, making note of the foreign name, ‘Felix’, filled in at the top right corner. Then he moved to the intercom attached to the wall behind his desk chair and held the button that connected him to the head office. “Hi, could we please have someone come to room 48? I need a student to be taken to the nurses office.”
A garbled reply came back at him that he could only hope meant that someone would be sent soon. In the meantime, Jimin dug in his bag until he retrieved a sealed bottle of water. It wasn’t as cold as it had been when he had bought it, but it would do. He returned to the boy who had now buried his face into his hands, taking deep shaky breaths.
“Felix… can you try taking some small sips of water for me?” Jimin knelt beside the desk once more, twisting off the cap of the bottle. “Just a few? When last did you eat or drink something?”
He didn’t get much of a response other than the hybrid lifting his head enough to look at the open water before shakily taking it from Jimin. He took the smallest of sips before just sitting there with his eyes tightly shut.
“Okay.” Jimin rubbed Felix’s back and stood up again, coughing into his arm before letting out a restrained groan. “Everyone, you have 40 minutes left. If you’re finishing off or just sitting there, then go through your answers again and make sure you’ve read the questions carefully.”
It was almost ten minutes before Jimin heard a soft knock on the door.
Felix had been sitting with his hands pressed tightly against his eyes, leaning heavily on his elbows while taking stuttering breaths. Jimin had been hovering with concern, but there wasn’t anything he could really do to help. The dog hybrid pretty much shunned him every time he murmured a gentle question or soothing words.
Jimin left his spot next to the sick boy, giving a quick glance over the class to find that at least a third of them were watching him and not going over their work like he’d encouraged, but he called out a brief ‘half an hour left’ and moved to open the door.
 “Jimin?”
“Jin.” Jimin let out a heavy breath, running a finger under his nose before leaning closer to the concerned elder. Silently thanking that their office employees had thought to call the school nurse directly and not some random other teacher to walk the boy to a better environment. “Hi, I’m not sure how sick this boy is, but he has a fever and I think he might be nauseous. He couldn’t tell me if it was from anxiety or something else so… He didn’t seem too keen on talking to me at all actually. I just gave him water.”
Jin nodded, wiping his hands on his jeans before stepping forward to move into the class. For a moment he looked like he wanted to question Jimin on something else but thought better of it.
 “Where are they?”
Jimin pointed him out and then stood back, trying his best to watch over the rest of the class and not interfere with Jin as he prompted a few words out of Felix – mostly about what he felt like and whether he was okay to walk - before helping him stand. The witch had to wrap an arm around the boys waist to kept him steady and they were forced to move at a slow pace, but Jin just murmured soft barely audible words of encouragement until they’d reached the door. Jimin lay a steadying hand on Jin’s arm before biting at his lip.
“Do you need help getting back? I can ask the office to send another person..”
“We’re fine Jimin.” Jin reassures, his hand rubbing gently at Felix’s side. “I know him, I’d rather just move slowly and not stress him out too much. You can come by in a bit if you’re worried, but I’ve got it.”
Jimin let them go, closing the door softly behind them trying to ignore the tears that had sprung to Felix’s eyes as soon as the pair had left the room. Distracted, he gave a final slow walk through the rows of students. Most of them were finished now, some had lain down over their desks while others fiddled with their stationery. He gave a pleased nod to see that at least two students where carefully reading through their work and added to certain places, and then he passed Soobin. The boy had completely drawn over the back of his exam paper with dark detailed sketches that  couldn’t have been done quickly. Jimin winced at the thought of how the boys answers must look, and took it has a hint to sit the rest of the time at his desk where he sipped at the final bit of his now lukewarm tea.
He sent a few carefree texts to Yoongi, who had been complaining bitterly about having to stay at home for the day. Apparently he had tried to talk Namjoon into letting him work but the clumsy witch had threatened to jinx the elder if Yoongi came in to work. Jimin smiled at his boyfriend’s irritated messages, knowing that the warlock was probably still in bed despite him having his studio there if he really wanted to work.
He still felt a bit bad about getting Yoongi sick, but the warlock had thankfully always been a quick healer, so hopefully if he rested for a day or two then he would be fine. Jimin sent a final ‘see you in a bit! Love you!’ before he readied up the exam folder to retrieve the papers.
He coughed once into his fist, pushing up his glasses instinctively afterwards, then gave a soft smile. “Okay guys, if anyone is still writing I’m going to need you to stop.”
*
“Jin? You in here?” Jimin peeked into the small nurses office only to find it empty, ignoring how his voice had cracked. The desk had been pushed neatly to the side and had an open medical bag with some scattered medications on it but other than that and the locker off to the side that held Jin’s personal things, the room was impeccably clean. Although that shouldn’t surprise him, it was a nurses office. “Soekjin?”
He heard a soft reply and then Jin appeared, ducking through the white curtain that basically blended into the wall. The sectioned off area for those that needed a bed to lay down in, if Jimin remembered correctly.
“Yeah, hey.” Jin smiled and tugged at the collar of his shirt before collapsing into his chair with a sigh. “Sorry, I’ve been running everywhere.”
“Mr. Popularity.” Jimin teased and entered properly into the room to lean against the second chair across from his friend. He flipped a small backpack up and dropped it onto the empty seat. “Felix left this. I didn’t want to leave it there in case there was something important inside. He can just fetch it from here whenever he’s back at school.”
“He hasn’t left yet.” Jin let out a breath much heavier than before. His expression darker than what Jimin was used to seeing on him. “He stays in a foster home with a whole bunch of other kids, his guardians are always a bit preoccupied with the younger children. I think they like to think that the older kids can fend for themselves a lot better than what they actually can, but yeah. They were called, but his foster brother will probably be the one to fetch him after his classes for uni end.”
Jimin frowned deeply. His chest ached in sympathy for the timid hybrid that had seemed close to passing out earlier. “Is he… okay?”
“Mostly.” Jin shrugged, glancing back to the curtained area he had come through. “He threw up a few times and put up more of a fight than I thought possible when I tried to get him to drink a potion. I had to resort to just standard medicine, but it won’t be as effective.  Seems like a flu.”
“I felt awful that I couldn’t really help earlier.” Jimin admitted with a small sniff, rubbing at the tip of his nose swiftly. “He seemed scared to tell me anything, but I don’t know… maybe he just really wasn’t feeling well.”
Jin shook his head. “This isn’t his first foster home, he got moved around a lot. From his file and the times he’s spoken to me, he has a bit of a rocky history with cat hybrids – of course his experiences kind of dealt more with predatory breeds but I suppose he just kind of categorised.”
Now Jimin felt worse. He bit at his lip and locked his eyes onto the curtain as if he would be able to see the boy through the material. Was he asleep, or was he listening? Jimin’s throat tightened at the thought of having scared the dog hybrid. He didn’t really like causing someone else unnecessary stress, especially if there was a history of something … what, abusive? Maybe?
“I didn’t realise… Why was he sent to school if he wasn’t feeling well?”
“Beats me. Probably didn’t say anything, he’s only really comfortable with a few people and I don’t think he expects to rely on his foster parents.” Jin says quietly. “He’s a good kid, though. Very funny and loud when he wants to be. He just needs to open up to others a bit more, stop feeling like a burden and maybe participate a bit more.”
Jimin nodded, twisting at one of his rings. “It’s hard sometimes, I get that. If he ever wants to he’s more than welcome to come by the dance studio’s. We sometimes hold after school classes for those that are curious or need extra practices. It might be a bit late to switch to it as a subject, but I’m willing to teach him a few things when he’s feeling better, maybe it will help in terms of meeting new people. Or I can ask Hobi if he can teach him a few things if he’ll feel more comfortable with a human teacher.”
“I’ll let him know.” Jin let out a huff of a laugh. “How are you? Feeling better about being back?”
Jimin grinned widely, leaning heavily onto the chair. “Loads better, Yoongi helped me a lot. I’m still a bit stuffy –“
“And your voice is super hoarse.” Jin said, then smiled teasingly as Jimin whined, his ears drooping a little.
“Yeah, I know… But I really do feel better. I’m tired now but I’m happy to be back at work, I missed my kids. I got see two of my students during the exam, although I don’t think I have a lot of faith in the ones English skills. … its fine though.” Jimin straightened up and gave a dramatic wave of his hands. “He won’t need good marks in standard school, he’ll go far in dancing.”
Jin pulled a face at Jimin’s words causing the younger to let out a small giggle.
“Maybe not fail the standard schooling, but you get what I mean. He’s going places whether he gets those marks or not.”
“Sure, Minnie. Just don’t tell him that he doesn’t need to get good marks in other things.” Jin advised teasingly. “That’s not the best way to educate the next generation.”
A gentle knock on the office door had Jimin jumping in fright, his ears drawn back, and fur raised, only to see two boys hovering outside. He vaguely recognised one from seeing him in hallways but the shorter one was unfamiliar, they both had soft fae-like features and wide innocent eyes. The taller was still dressed in the academies uniform while the other was dressed entirely in baggy black clothes that reminded Jimin of Yoongi. Although he doubted Yoongi would willingly get a lip and eyebrow piercing… maybe Jimin could talk him into it…
“Hey, Chan. You got here fairly quickly.” Jin rose from his seat. “ I think he’s asleep right now, but I’ll wake him up and give him a final look over.”
“Thank you so much Mr. Kim.” The dark one said, smiling brightly at Jin before nodding a greeting at Jimin.
He gave a soft ‘Hi’ before he pulled the light backpack off of the seat and handed it to the one Jin had addressed. “Here’s his bag.”
“Thank you.” Chan accepted it quickly and gratefully.
“Aren’t you one of the dance teachers? On the other side of the school?” The student, who looked about the same age as Felix despite being taller than both Chan and Jimin. “I saw you in that theatre performance thing like three months ago… right?”
Jimin nodded, assuming that the boy was talking about the fundraiser that the school did that was mostly a time for the students to see the staff make fools of themselves doing dances or skits – or in his and the rest of the performance arts staffs’ case, their talent and skills being flaunted in their natural habitats.
“Yep, I’m a modern – contemporary instructor, but I help out in the hip hop sector when I’m needed.”
The boys face lit up at knowing he was right. “You’re dancing is so cool. You were so graceful on stage, it looked really beautiful.”
Jimin smiled and felt his cheek warm. Jin had disappeared behind the curtain and Chan was watching Jimin with a small smile.
“I remember now. I went and watched with him and some of our other brothers.” Chan added. “He kind of became obsessed with dance after that.”
His cheeks burned and he let out a soft nervous cough into his fist. “That’s kind, thank you. Are you… all in the same Foster family as Felix?”
Chan nodded before adding. “I don’t live there anymore, but I still spend time with some of them there, kind of become like real brothers, you know?”
Jimin nodded, stilling feeling a bit off about thinking of them in a foster home. “Well I was just telling Jin that he was welcome to come by the studios if he ever felt interested in dance. As a way to open up a bit. I’m not sure if Felix would join if I taught him, but you’re welcome to join myself or Mr. Jung as well if you want – um..”
“Hyunjin.” The boy said eagerly. “That’s so cool. I really want to, I wanted to take classes, but our guardians couldn’t pay for the extra fee.”
Jimin bit back his grimace. It was unfortunate that students had to pay an extra amount for specialised classes but there wasn’t much he could do besides over informal schooling.
“Well, we can organise once or twice a week to help you guys out. You actually look like the right build for a dancer, probably wont struggle too much…”
Jin reappeared with the small dog hybrid following close behind, looking a bit steadier on his feet than before but still nowhere near healthy enough to be at school. Felix hesitated at the sight of him but didn’t stop for long before he move to sink into Chan’s arms. Jin spoke about some of the hybrids symptoms and what he’d need to take as well as giving a few things to watch out for and what to do if it got worse just in case their guardians got busy. Jimin moved back, letting the two boys move closer to their brother in the office. It was cute to see the three of them together, so different and yet there was a clear sense of family. Jimin sniffed only to regret it as a sharp piercing lemon scent that was no doubt coming from Felix flooded his senses. He wasn’t sure how he hadn’t smelt it earlier, perhaps it was because Felix was feeling safe – in any case, Jimin blinked hard. He pressed a finger secretly to his nose, but it only seemed to aggravate the itch. Damn it, he had really hoped that he had finished with this earlier – he had blown his nose enough times after leaving the class, but apparently not.
‘He’ingxt’ah.. h’ingxsh..hih..hih’IGTSHiew…’ He cringed as he felt eyes land on him but couldn’t do anything else but keep his hand covering his face. ‘hih’itchshew… h’IShiew..’
 “Bless you, Jimin.”
Jimin groaned and pulled a face, giving a soft and somewhat nervous sniffle. It seemed to be the end of it thankfully. Everyone was looking at him, but thankfully they didn’t seem to really care. “Thanks…”
 “Thought you were better, hmm?”
“Jin,” Jimin pursed his lips and resisted the urge flick him. “Shut up. I’m fine now, just... lingering stuff.”
Jin hummed but Jimin knew he was only trying to be annoying.
“okay well, I’ll head out then.” Jimin clapped his hands together awkwardly, no longer wanting to stay in the room in case he was going to start being sensitive to any more scents.
“Tell Yoongi to feel better for me, Min.” Jin said as he wrote down the names of specific medications that would be the most long lasting for a hybrid.
Remembering the adorable sight he had left his boyfriend in that morning, Jimin spun around with a cheery gasp and wide glimmering eyes that had Jin laughing loudly, the other three in the room just blinking with bemusement at the suddenly change.
“Get home Jimin! That wasn’t an invitation to start blabbering about your boyfriend. Actually, I’m very annoyed at you – It’s your fault that I didn’t get my extra Namjoon-day yesterday. I was devastated! Devastated Jimin!” Jin scolded him without even trying to suppress his smile.
“You can sleep with your husband whenever you want Jin. No one is stopping you.” A pen smacked into his chest and Jimin bubbled with laughter as he danced out of range of the book that had come flying soon after the first projectile. “Don’t throw things at me!”
“Yah! Don’t say inappropriate things in front of students, you bratty cat!”
“They know what sex is!” Jimin argued playfully, coughing lightly as he caught the next book that came flying at his face. “So sensitive. Has it been that long?”
“I should have never befriended you. I have to rethink my life choices.” Jin shook his head as he sent Felix an exasperated look. The dog hybrid was watching the interaction with wide, watery eyes.
“Bye, Soekjin.” Jimin laughed, handing the book he had caught to Hyunjin. “I’ll let Yoongi know you care. If you want… I can ask him to make up something special to help-“
“GO HOME, BRAT!”
Jimin pranced away, hearing the soft curses that Jin threw after him. Home. Despite how mixed his feelings were after finding out about Felix’s family life, he couldn’t help but be filled with a flood of warmth at the thought of his boyfriend waiting for him. Most likely still cuddled up into the warm nest Jimin had rearranged for him, unless the elder had decided to use energy to make food or something, but that seemed particularly doubtful after he had messaged Jimin about how lucid he felt and about the mountain of tissues creating a new city on the floor of their bedroom.
It was endearing… possibly contagious to anyone else that stepped fought into their house but somehow, very endearing.

A/n: this was such cute Idea I hope I did it justice. It’s been a while since I’ve written a comedy piece. There are probably spelling errors I’ll go back and fix them later. also I love Jon Favreau as Happy so I had to put him in. (i swear he is one of my favorite actors) btw this is not edited (i’ll come back and do that eventually)

Summary: When Y/n’s best friend goes through a drastic change he starts keeping secrets. Secrets that include him being New York’s one and only friendly neighborhood spiderman. Shit hits the fan when his new secret life is exposed and she gets dragged into it.
Genre: Spiderman!au, romance, comedy, friends to lovers!au, little bit of angst
There are only three things that truly matter in life. Good friends, good pizza, and a good story. So far I had two of those at the moment. Sadly I was lacking a good story. Our school newspaper had been quite dry despite my efforts to discover new and intriguing stories.
“Stop sulking and eat.” My best friend said, shoving a piece of cheese pizza in my face. Jisung laughed when I bit the end before returning to look at my laptop. We were at our usual pizza place seated next to the window with the big bright red neon sign lighting up our faces. The sun set over the New York skyline making the moment almost perfect. If only I was writing an exciting article. Instead, I was putting together a riveting look into the school’s menu changes.
“You know I invited you because I thought you were going to be good company.”
“Please. You invited me because Felix was busy with a stupid Lego project and no one else will eat pizza with you.”
“Whatever.”
Jisung and I weren’t the most popular people in our senior class. To be frank, Jisung was my only friend. So going out and eating pizza every other day at ten o’clock at night was often the highlight of my week. Having had enough of the lack of attention Jisung slammed my laptop closed and removed it from the already small table. “Hey! I didn’t save!”
“That’s what Google Docs is for.”
He was right. I needed to stop working. I had been slaving over that stupid and boring article all week. He didn’t have to be such an ass though. “You are such a teenager.” I scoffed, watching him shovel yet another slice of pizza down his throat. “Oh, and you are such an adult!” The mocking tone of his voice threatened a laugh.
“I swear you are God’s punishment for enjoying sex. Everyone’s libido just disappears when you are around.”
“Hey don’t ruin our date. I was considering sleeping with you tonight.”
He laughed when I threatened to smack him. It had been like this for as long as I could remember. Just me and Jisung. My parents had been friends with his before they passed away in a car accident. Now Jisung lived with his Aunt May and his Uncle Ben a few blocks away from me.
I remember after the crash I would wake to a tap on my window to see an eight year old Jisung on my fire escape. Not wanting to bother his Aunt with his nightmares, Jisung had run all the way to my apartment and climbed the fire escape to my room on the sixth floor. I would open the window and let him sleep in my bed. My eight year old brain used to think maybe my bed was like force field keeping away the bad dreams about his parents.
“Hey, what are you doing tomorrow?” Jisung asked bringing me out of my thoughts.
“Mr. Finoli asked me to take pictures of the science field trip so I’m going with you guys. Why?” A look of realization crossed Jisung’s face making him freeze. “Did you forget to ask May to sign your permission slip?”
“I forgot to ask May to sign my-...you can be a real ass sometimes, you know that?”
Laughing I pulled a ten out of my wallet and left it on the table. “Come on, you’ve gotta get your slip signed, dummy.” “I can pay, it’s no problem.” He said watching me pack up my stuff. “Nah, you can get the next one.” Bellies full of pizza, we left Tony’s Pizzeria and headed in the direction of Jisung’s apartment, his arm draped over my shoulder and talking my ear off about some random experiment they had done in Physics that day.
The next day I woke up bright and early to meet the class at the New York Museum of Science. Camera bag on my shoulder and camera around my neck I stood outside the museum with about ten other students and two teachers. My tired eyes brightened when I saw Jisung step out from the subway, May right behind him.
I laughed as he wiped a kiss from his cheek before waving goodbye to her. His dyed blonde hair was messy and blew slightly in the wind. Jisung waved when he saw me and jogged over. His hoodie lazily hung off his shoulder and his shirt and jeans were somewhat wrinkled. “Don’t you look nice?” I couldn’t help but chuckle at his appearance.
“Shut up.”
He laughed throwing an arm around my shoulder, leading me closer to the group. Soon the tour began and I busied myself with taking photos of the group for the paper and yearbook. Jisung followed the group, only half-listening to the teacher as he looked at other random exhibits.
At around one in the afternoon, the group moved outside to have lunch on the steps. I sat off to the side with Jisung, his legs spread out across the stairs and his elbow rested on the step above us. It was refreshing to be next to him talking about absolutely nothing. Even if he stole my food.
Eventually, we were all called back to resume the tour. I angled a shot of two students looking at a bug exhibit, but just as I took the picture Jisung jumped in the frame throwing up a peace sign and crossing his eyes. “Hey! Stop hitting me!” He yelled as I smacked his shoulder over and over again. “Look I’m just innocently observing the exhibit. Leave me alone crazy woman!”
Sighing, I pushed him away and resumed taking photos. As the group was moving onto the next room I noticed Jisung was missing. It wasn’t unlike him to wander off into a room he wasn’t supposed to just to look at probably like some DNA model or some other weird science shit. I could never get over the fact Jisung was super into science when he gave zero fucks about his other classes.
“Jisung?”
“Ji?”
“Ji, we are moving on,” I said looking for him. My eyes landed on a semi-open door marked ‘Lab’. He wouldn’t. He did. Just as I started to walk towards the door, he exited with a goofy smile on his face. “Y/n! Dude, they have all these cool spiders and test tubes in there it was so cool! One of them bit me!” Like an excited three-year-old, he showed me his wrist where he indeed had a red spider bite.
“Ooooooh! Take a picture!”
He shoved my camera into my hands and held up his arm pointing to the spider bite making the dopiest smile. Knowing he wouldn’t shut up until I complied, I took the picture.
“Let’s catch up with the group,” I said taking his hand and dragging him back to the class. When we reached the group a teacher looked over at us his brows furrowing. “Excuse me, Miss L/n, is your friend okay?” He pointed to Jisung, a concerned expression on his face.
“Jisung? There are certainly things wrong with him but he’s oka-”
My words stopped when I turned to look at my best friend next to me. “Ji- Oh my god! Ji are you okay?” His face had obviously paled and he looked dizzy. A thin layer of sweat lay on his forehead.
“Hell yeah. I’m doing fine, baby.” His voice sounded drowsy.
“Miss L/n he is not alright. Does he have anyone who can come get him.” The teacher said pulling out his phone. I shook my head. May worked in the day and his Uncle Ben was on a business trip. “No, they are working.”
He sighed and turned to me. Jisung was clearly getting worse by the second and was wobbling a little. “What about you? Can you take him home?” Jisung laughed and wrapped his arms around me loosely. “Fuck yeah, I’d her take me home.”
“I have a test in my last period.”
“I’ll write you a pass and send it to your teacher. Take him home please.”
Nodding he typed something on his phone and returned to the group who had started to move once again. “Okay Ji, let’s get you back to May’s.” Slowly we started moving to the exit. Before we made it to the doors, Jisung practically turned green. He pushed away from me and burst towards the nearest restroom.
“Jisung!”
Ignoring the looks and yells I followed Jisung into the restroom and looked for the stall he was in. “Hey, lady get out of here!” A man standing at the urinal screamed.
“Oh please. Get over yourself.”
“Ji?”
Following the coughing and gagging sounds, I pushed the final stall door open. Jisung sat on the floor his mop of blonde hair hanging over the toilet. I crouched next to him and rubbed his back gently. “Oh god, I hate puking.”
“Jisung everyone hates puking.”
“Yeah well.....your face likes puking.”
“Nice comeback.”
Feeling too terrible to respond, he just threw up the contents of his stomach again. When he seemed able to stand the two of us made our way outside and down the subway. Jisung leaned most of his weight on me as I slid my metro pass through the scanner. How I managed to get him through the turnstile and onto the metro I have no clue. Thankfully there was once last seat free for Jisung to sit down in.
“Y/n, I don’t feel good.”
“I know,” I said softly as he rested his head against my stomach. The train turned sharply making me hold onto the strap, not wanting to fall into Jisung. Soft whines and groans came from him every now and then. This was the worst I had ever seen Jisung.
I listened to the stations being called out as I ran my fingers through his hair, hoping that would calm him down a little. We were only four stops away but more people were getting on the train. Jisung looked up at me a sick expression on his face. It changed when he looked at the passengers boarding the car.
“Here, Ma’am. You can take my seat.”
“Thank you so much, young man.” An older woman said taking his seat as he got up. “Jisung, you feel terrible. Are you okay to stand?” He shrugged latching onto the strap next to mine, his face paling again. “I’ll be fine, it’s only four stops.”
Jisung’s eyes started to droop as the train started up again. His body began to act heavier than it was so he resorted to leaning on me and nestling his head between my neck and shoulder. I did my best to make sure he didn’t fall over.
“You two are very cute together.” The old lady said with a smile.
“Oh- we aren’t--”
“You better hold onto a good man like that, sweetie. Handsome and kind. Those are hard to come by.”
Before I could respond we turned again, and I had to keep Jisung from falling in this poor nice old lady’s lap. I felt his skin burning against mine. Could this train not go any faster. Soon enough our stop came. I said bye to the old woman and helped Jisung get off the train and up the subway stairs.
“Come on, Ji. We are almost there and we both know I cannot carry your ass.”
Eventually, I made it up the stairs of his apartment building to the fourth floor and managed to drag him to his door. “Jisung, where’s your key?” Trying not to hurt his head I propped him up on the door frame. He laughed when I started searching through his pockets.
“Y/n if you wanted to cop a feel just ask. That tickles.”
“Jisung where are your fucking keys?”
“Back pocket.” He said drowsily. I sighed and reached behind him. My hands searched through his jean pockets for the cold metal keys. “Having fun back there, because I’m sure enjoying it.”
I suppressed the urge to punch him in the stomach out of fear he would vomit all over me. Finally finding his keys, I unlocked the door and threw my stuff inside, before lugging him in as well. Jisung leaned on the couch while I put my stuff on the table.
“Y/n it’s burning up in here.”
“Jisung, you just have a temperature.”
“It burns like fucking hell! It’s too hot!”
Before I could stop him Jisung was shedding layers like a snake. He tossed his shirt somewhere in the small living room. He was sweating like crazy, his blonde hair sticking to his forehead. “Ji, come on let’s get you in the shower.” I started running a cold shower for him before rushing back to the living room to call May. It would only be a couple hours until she got home, but I should still let her know what’s going on.
While Jisung was in the shower, I grabbed some medicine from the cabinet. I had absolutely no fucking idea how to treat a spider bite. Antibiotics? Hearing the shower turn off I knocked before entering. Jisung had a towel wrapped around his waist and was leaning his head against the wall. “Y/n...”
“I’m right here, Jisung.” Cautiously I led him to his room and watched him collapse onto his double bed. Rummaging through his drawers I found some mostly clean sweatpants. “Ji, do you even do laundry?”
“Y/n, I feel a little too fucking sick to do chores now.”
“I know. I know.” He slipped on the sweatpants and let me dry his hair. I wrapped his arms, covering the bite so it wouldn’t get more infected then it already probably was. Jisung’s temperature flipped like crazy. One minute he was burning up and the next he was freezing.
A sigh of relief left my chest when I heard May call out in the apartment. “Y/n thank you so much for taking care of him.” She gave me a short hug before running to go get more meds. She would know better than I would, being an ER nurse. “Ji, do you want me to stay? I can call my parents and tell them I’m staying the night.” He slowly shook his head.
“No, it’s okay.”
“I can stay really-”
“Y/n, I’ll be fine. You can go home.”
He gave me a half-assed smile and squeezed my hand. There was no arguing with Jisung sick or not so I gathered my things and left. May promised to keep me updated and I told her I would have my phone next to me.
The walk back to my apartment seemed longer than usual. I couldn’t stop thinking about Jisung. When I got home, my parents greeted me before telling me they would be working tonight. My dad was a cop and my mom worked at a hospital downtown. It was rare they were even home, to begin with. Exhausted from taking care of Jisung, I rolled onto my bed and fell asleep.
This boy really texted me at five the morning telling me to meet him at his locker three hours later. If he wasn’t still sick I would for sure have throttled him. Except for the fact that Jisung didn’t look sick. Not at all. He looked perfectly healthy as he walked down the hall towards me. In fact, he looked...really....good. It pissed me off.
“Aren’t you supposed to be sick?”
“Yeah, I got better.”
Jisung opened his locker like it was any other day and got his books. “What did you want to talk about?” He sighed and looked over at me. There was something different about him. Did his jaw always look like that? No. No jaw looks like that.
“So this morning I woke up and like I felt completely fine. In fact, I felt the best I have in years. And this weird thing happened to me on the subway-”
Jisung’s words were interrupted by the sound of his locker closing, only the entire row of metal lockers rattled as his shut. “The fuck? Did we have an earthquake or something?” I asked looking around. “What? No. New York isn’t on a fault line.” Shrugging it off I turned back to Jisung.
“You were saying?” He seemed distracted now, looking at his closed locker. “Ummm.... I wanted to thank you for yesterday.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him. “Ji, you don’t need to thank me. I’ll always take care of you if you need me.” As I pulled away his hands stayed on my waist, which wasn’t totally out of the norm. Jisung was always a really touchy and flirty person. It drove me crazy sometimes, knowing that it was just his personality and not him acting on something else.
“So this weird thing happened on my way to school this morning. My hand-” Again Jisung was interrupted. This time by the bell ringing for homeroom. “Hey Jisung, I’ve gotta go, but you can tell me at lunch right?” He nodded, his expression becoming more uneasy. As I turned his grip on my waist stopped me.
“Ji, I know you wanna tell me now but I have to go!” I said with a laugh. A nervous breathy laugh escaped his lips as he tried to pull away from me. “Well, you know how hard it is for me to keep my hands off of you.” Arching an eyebrow I chose to ignore his weird behavior and walked off to my homeroom.
When the lunch bell finally rang I took my food outside to where Ji and I normally ate. However, he was nowhere in sight. As if he could read my thoughts, my phone notified me of a text from Jisung.
Lix asked me to help him with some Chem work. Sry I can’t eat with you :(
I sent him a quick reply saying it was okay. It wasn’t the first time I had eaten alone and it surely wouldn’t be the last. To no surprise, Chaeyoung and one of her friends walked by. “Have you seen that kid? What’s his name? Jihyun?” She said in her shrill voice. It was hard not to hear her conversation even from twenty feet away.
“No, I think his name is Jisung. Han Jisung. He is in my physics class. Kind of a dweeb if you ask me.”
“Well, that dweeb filled out. He was probably just a late bloomer, but like all of a sudden, he got really hot. Have you seen his arms and his chest? Oh my god! A girl could die.”
The girls laughed and continued to objectify my best friend. They were right. Jisung had seemed to have had a huge glow up overnight. His lanky form did seem more toned and his arms were much more muscular than I remembered.
“Can you believe he still hangs out with that new junkie girl? Like, please. He could get any girl he wants now. Why stay friends with that waste of space?”
“That bitch is so full of herself. Literally, no one even likes her.” Chaeyoung said laughing. Having heard enough, I got up and decided to go to my next class early. It didn’t necessarily bother me what she had said. Chaeyoung always liked to mess with me.
All my classes seemed slower than usual and Jisung was answering my texts. At this point in the day, we would probably be having a meme war or a stupid conversation ignoring our teachers, but my phone was silent. Not a single notification.
By the end of the day, I was feeling totally depressed. English was my last class and thank god I had it with Jisung. No doubt he would be late though. He rarely ever showed up on time to class. But, as I walked through the classroom door I did a double-take seeing my best friend in his usual seat right beside mine.
He gave me an innocent smile. This was strange. Jisung was never early. He looked...normal. I mean other than the physical overnight puberty storm. He slouched in his chair his long legs spilling into the aisle, not that he cared, and he twirled a pen between his long slender fingers.
“Yo, wassup, cutie?” He said as I sat down. “You seem to be the talk of the school.” He shrugged and shuffled through some physics work he had on his desk. “You jealous?” That stupid smirk appeared on his mouth. “No. Just confused.”
“Okay, class. Settle down. We are going to be returning to our analysis of Austen’s novel Sense and Sensibility.”
I busied myself with taking thorough notes knowing Jisung would just fall asleep again or just play a random game on his phone. The teacher droned on making a seemingly not boring book a complete snooze fest. The lecture continued without end threatening to send me to sleep as well. Out of habit, I looked over at Jisung, except he was not asleep. Jisung was wide awake and he appeared to be listening intently.
As if he sensed I was looking at him he turned and smiled at me before returning his attention to the front of the classroom. This was too weird. Where was my Jisung? Maybe he was still sick. That could explain the weird behavior, right?
The harsh sound of the release bell brought me out of my thoughts. Jisung was already packing up his stuff. “Hey, you wanna stop by Tony’s on the way home? You can buy me a slice!” I said latching onto his arm. The girls were right. Jisung had filled out. Feeling myself starting to blush, I let go and looked back up at my best friend.
“I can’t. I’ve gotta run some errands fro May and then Uncle Ben asked me to pick up dinner and some other stuff.”
“I can come with you?”
“No, it’s okay. I’ll text you later!”
Without another word, Jisung raced out of the classroom. I knew Jisung pretty well and it was clear he didn’t want me around today. Alone-again- I rode the subway back to my apartment to be greeted by an empty living room. My mom had left a note on the counter leaving me money for dinner and saying Jisung was welcome to come over. “Yeah, well he’s too busy,” I said to no one in particular.
It got dark pretty quick. All my homework was finished. I even managed to submit the stupid article on lunch menus. Eventually, I had nothing to do but stare at my ceiling. The news was getting pretty boring. After the whole Avenger’s fiasco, things had quieted down, and no interesting stories were in sight. By 11:30 I had given up hope Jisung was going to text let alone call so I did the next best thing.
“Hi, May! Is Jisung busy?”
“Hi, sweetie! Jisung got home about an hour ago. He said he was out with Felix. Should I tell him to call you?”
“No, no. It’s fine. You don’t have to tell him. I’ll talk to him later.”
“Okay, honey. Goodnight!”
Han Jisung you filthy little liar. If he didn’t want to hang out with me he should have just said so. Deciding I had finally had enough of this awful day I curled up under my covers and fell asleep.
Months had now passed and Jisung had started acting normal again. Well as normal as Jisung could be anyway. Our near daily trips to Tony’s had decreased to only twice a week and Jisung always seemed to be busy after school, though he made sure to text me back for fear of facing my wrath.
“What do you think of this Spiderman guy?” I asked typing away on my laptop. Jisung lounged across my bed, the Saturday afternoon light casting a warm glow over his face.  He looked up from his place beside me. “Uhh...I don’t know. What do you think of him?”
“He seems a little childish and amateur, but he is a great story. Vigilante helping out downtown New York? That’s gold.”
“Childish? What do you mean childish? He’s professional as fuck. I heard he stopped a bank robbery the other day.”
“Yeah, and they found the criminals hanging from a lampost by their underwear.”
Jisung laughed and ran a hand through his blonde hair before looking up at the ceiling. “You’ve been talking about Spiderman a lot lately. What do you have a crush on him?” I scoffed, fingers flying across my keyboard. “Please. I don’t date children. Besides, I just think he is a great story.”
“You wanna order takeout?” Jisung asked reaching over me to get my phone. My dad was on duty and my mom was on call so Jisung had come over to keep me company. I did my best to pretend I didn’t notice how amazing he smelled as he leaned over me. “You know you should really stop eating junk food. You are what you eat.” I said distracting myself from how close he was.
“Well then if we are what we eat, I guess I would be fast, cheap, and easy.”
Jisung winked at me, making my eyes roll. Jisung had grown at home in his new body and somehow he got even cockier than he was before. He groaned at my lack of response and instead let his head rest in my lap, giving him a good view of my screen. “Play with my hair, bitch.”
“Excuse me, dick. I’m working.” He laughed and unlocked my phone. I often wondered why he liked just sitting with me. I think I remembered him telling me once that he liked the sound of me typing. He said it had sort of a rhythm that only belonged to me. How he could pick up on that I had no clue. Like he had superhearing.
“I ordered sushi. Don’t worry, I’ll pay.” Jisung said, adjusting his body slightly so he wasn’t at an awkward angle. I smiled continuing to write about our masked arachnid hero. “Please tell me you got boba too.” I sighed suddenly craving the sweet drink.
“Of course, baby. I’ve got you.”
There was a moment of silence. Any minute now Jisung was going to break it. The boy couldn’t go three minutes without talking. “Do you think Spiderman is hot?” Jisung blurted out.
“Jisung...do we need to have a talk?”
“What- no! Oh, what- no! I mean like do you think he’s hot?”
“The guy wears a mask; how am I supposed to know?”
He shrugged and played on my phone. “I don’t know. What do you think he looks like?” With Jisung’s mind, he wasn’t going to drop this until he got an answer. Saving my work, I closed my laptop and moved it onto the side table. “He’s probably like thirteen. I’m mean he is skinny enough to be a pre-teen.”
“No, like his face.”
“You are weirdly obsessed with this you know.”
“Answer the question already. I’m getting bored.”
I thought for a minute, my hand unconsciously moving to run through his blonde locks. What would spiderman look like? “He is probably just some random white dude. Dark hair, blue eyes maybe?”
He nodded, seemingly satisfied with my answer. The topic changed after that. Jisung told me about spending time with his Uncle earlier that day and we talked about his weird physics experiments. Soon enough, the food came and Jisung paid for it like he said he would. We spent the next several hours sitting in my bed eating sushi, drinking boba, and watching a drama Jisung insisted I ‘needed to see or my brain would explode out of my ears from being lame’.
After several episodes, my room was obscenely dark and my parents had yet to come home. My back rested against Jisung’s chest letting me feel the vibration of his laughs. “Hey, it’s late. You should probably head home.” He smiled when I made no attempt at moving or letting him up. “Do you want me to stay?” “Yes  please.”  He chuckled and pulled out his phone, calling his uncle and letting him know.
Soon I began to grow tired, my head slumping back onto his shoulder. He poked my side, trying to wake me up. “Hey, go change for bed.” Sleepily, I nodded and shuffled out of bed to sift through my closet for a nightshirt. Jisung moved around getting comfortable while I changed.
As I walked back over to the bed Jisung shut my laptop and placed it on my nightstand. When I climbed back into my bed he pulled me on top of him, wrapping his arms around my waist. It had been quite a while since Jisung had stayed over. It felt so nice just to be next to him, feeling the warmth radiating off his bare chest. The sound of his heartbeat lulled me to sleep.
Jisung’s ringtone blared in my small room quickly waking me up. “Ji-” I said shoving my head under the covers. “I got it. Go back to sleep.” A quick glance at my clock told me it was two am. Who the hell was calling Jisung at two am? Jisung reached over me and grabbed his phone off the stand. He tried not to move a lot because my head still lay on his arm. “Hello?”
“Happy? What’s wrong?”
“Jisung tell the Disney dwarf to hang up. I wanna go back to sleep.” I whined, drowsily. Snuggling back into his chest, I reluctantly listened to him sleepily talk on the phone, Jisung not being fully awake himself. “Where am I? I’m at Y/n’s.....Yes....Yes, you can add the location to the list.” I felt Jisung run a hand through his fluffy hair and sigh.
“Mr. Stark said what? Yeah, yeah I have it in my bag....What now?....She’s gonna kill me....I can be there in ten.” Jisung hung up and started to get out of bed. “Woah, where the hell are you going? I need my personal space heater.” Jisung let out a tired laugh as he slipped his baggy shirt back on and rummaged through his bag looking for something.
“I’m really sorry, but I have to go.”
“Jisung who the fuck is calling you at two am? What is so important that you have to leave?” I asked still not really awake and comprehensive. “Uhhh....my....internship.”
“Your what?”
“My internship.”
“Your what?”
“My internship.”
“Yeah-Ji- you keep saying ‘your internship’ like my half-asleep half murderous mind will understand what your saying.”
“I got an internship with Stark Industries. They have uh... a problem....with some of the...code that I wrote....last week.”
Jisung started slipping his socks back on as I stared at him in confusion. “When did you get an internship with freaking Tony Stark -You work with Ironman?!” He laughed and started searching for his shoes.
“Y/n, go back to sleep. I’ll see you on Monday.” Then he left. I was alone once again in my room. A random siren went off in the distance and I just sat in bed. Suddenly, the police scanner on my dresser crackled to life. My dad had given it to me for my birthday a few years ago.
We have a 647g Disorderly Conduct at 284 Hickom Av.
647g? Why bother calling that in at this time of night? That was just loitering. Sighing, I got up and walked over to turn the radio off. Another voice coming through stopped me.
Disregard suspect has left the premise with another group of guys. Headed south down Hickom.
South down Hickom street? What had my dad said earlier this week? Something about several high arms deals going down near there. If I could catch one in the act this would be a great story! Throwing on some pants and slipping on my sneakers, I grabbed my camera and put on my jacket. “Finally a great story!”
Hickom Avenue was maybe about ten minutes away. The streets were pretty dark at two am, but it didn’t really bother me. My curiosity overpowered any fear I should have. My eyes scanned the area looking for any sign of the guys the scanner mentioned. Just as I was about to cross in front of an alley I saw them. Quickly I doubled back and pressed against the wall.
“If I’m paying 4k for some lightsaber shit, I’d better get a demonstration, man.”
Carefully I peeked around the corner. Seven men stood in the hallway. Three were next to this heavy-duty van with blacked-out windows. This was definitely an arms deal if I had ever seen one. Which....to be fair...I hadn’t. But it was pretty clear.
A guy with muscles bigger than my head pulled out a large weapon with green glowing lights. Quickly I pulled out my camera and started snapping pictures. They proceeded to fire this huge light cannon around the alley. Holy shit. This thing was powerful.
“Okay, you got a deal. I’ll take four-”
Let’s dance the night away,
Let’s  dance the night away,
Yeaaaahh
One, Two, Three! Let’s go!
“Fuck,” I whispered ripping my phone out of my pocket and struggling to turn it off. “Turn off, come on.” Finally, I silenced the phone and turned to see if they had heard. Instead my eyes met a broad chest only a couple inches away.
Okay....think, think, think. Too busy panicking. Can’t think. Uhhhhhh......fuck. I followed my first instinct and threw a punch at the guy’s nose. His head did not recoil like it was supposed to. He just simply cracked his neck and glared down at me.
Okay.....instincts bad.
Before I knew it I was struggling against the man’s grip as he dragged me into the alley. “We’ve got a visitor.” He said throwing me onto the ground in front of all the other men. They sneered and inched closer clearly quite upset I had interrupted their little party.
“Make that two. Hey, how are you guys doing?”
All heads turned to the roof of the liquor store we were next to. My eyes widened. There was Spiderman. Complete with the red and blue suit and cocky childish attitude. “Who the fuck are you?” The buff guy, who now had his foot digging into my stomach, said.
“Bro....Come on. I’m Spiderman. You know. I shoot webs and kick ass.”
“Isn’t he that guy from YouTube that did the flip on that building?”
“OH MY GOD, THAT WAS ONE TIME!”
The man scoffed and pressed further onto my stomach, making me wince slightly. “Scram, Arachne Boy.” The men around me laughed at I assumed the leader’s joke. The hero sighed and shook his head.
“See now I have to beat you up. You can’t just make fun of my name. That shit hurts, bro.”
“What the fu-” Before he could finish his sentence a web shot and grabbed onto his face and flung him into the side of the building. Soon a fight broke out. Trying to remove myself from the situation I crawled away as Spiderman fought all the men.
“Ah!”
A strong hand grabbed the back of my neck and hoisted me off the ground. “You aren’t getting away that easy, little girl.” The man sneered. A huge welt was on the side of his face from Spiderman’s attack. My airway’s started to close as he squeezed tighter. My hands tried to pull his fingers away and slapping at any place I could reach. Meanwhile, the last thing I would hear before I died would be Spiderman yelling something about Naruto running a dude into the next Millenium.
As the edges of my vision started to fade, I heard another voice come closer. “Get your fucking mutant hands off her!” It screamed. I was dropped to the ground. Air filled my lungs as I took huge gasps. Looking up I saw Spiderman taking on the huge monstrosity of a man with nothing but his own two hands.
“I was told never to play with guns. But I think today might be the exception.”
A web shot out of his fingertips and pulled the weird contraption into his hands. A bright light emitted and fired at the man, blasting him into the building wall. Within seconds Spiderman had wrapped up the villain in a little cocoon of sticky webs, keeping him secure. A quick look around told me he had already done the same to the others.
The boy in the red suit danced around like a weirdo, while I sat on the ground. “Go Spidey! Go Spidey! Hell yeah! I made all of you my bitches!” I coughed still trying to get air back into my lungs. The white eyes on his mask widened. It must be some pretty advanced tech in that suit.
“Holy shit- Are you okay, Y/n...........I mean...wait-...random citizen I don’t know who means nothing to me personally. Are you okay?”
His voice weirdly got lower halfway through his sentence. Dazed, I looked back up at him. He offered me a hand up and gratefully I took it. “Thanks for helping back there,” I said, voice coming out a bit sore. He shrugged and puffed out his chest.
“Yeah, I did kick some serious ass didn’t I?”
Rolling my eyes, I grabbed my camera and started to walk away. “Wait! Where are you going?” He swung from a lamppost and landed in front of me the suit’s eyes widening and shrinking again. His suit must have facial readers or something.
“I’m going home. I’ve got my story; I’m done.”
“Hey it’s not safe. Let me take you home. What would your friends say if you weren’t at school tomorrow?”
Spiderman continued to follow me as if he were a lost puppy. I laughed when he almost tripped over a trashcan. “Okay, one- how do you know I’m a student? And two- I don’t really have any friends. People don’t like me at school.” He stopped in his tracks.
“What do you mean- Are you getting bullied at school?” His words stopped me. He sounded genuinely concerned. By now we were halfway to my apartment. I simply stared at him as the old streetlights flickered and struggled to light up the sidewalks we were on.
“A couple people bother me, but I just ignore them. Look I’m gonna go home. Thanks for back there. You were a real hero.”
He looked between me and my hand as I stuck it out for him to shake. Slowly he took it, his grip firm, but cautious. “You know, usually heroes get a thank you kiss for rescuing such a gorgeous girl.” I scoffed and pulled my hand away.
“Sorry, Spidey. I’m not interested in cocky little shits who run around wearing masks.”
“Yeah well, you’d be surprised. What is your type? Bet, I’m still it.”
My eyes lit up thinking about him. “I guess I’m more of the boy next door type. They say you always fall for your best friend right?”
He blinked as if he was processing my words. What I thinking? A horny fourteen-year-old boy wouldn’t understand. “Night, Spidey. Thanks for the save.” Not letting him say another word, I headed back to my apartment. My apartment was still empty when I returned. My parents wouldn’t be back until after I left for school in a few hours. Reluctantly I went back to my bed, missing the space where Jisung lay only a few hours earlier. It was harder to fall asleep without him next to me.
My legs carried me as quickly as they could. I ignored the crazy looks from people on the street as I raced to May’s apartment. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I burst through the building’s main entrance. Knowing the elevator would take too long and it was probably broken again, I took the stairs up to the fourth floor.
The door was unlocked when I ran into the apartment. “May? May!” I called, looking for her in the living room. Hearing small cries I turned to find her exiting the kitchen. With open arms, I let her hug me and cry into my shoulder.
We sat in the kitchen in silence. Occasionally one of our cries would slip, but the emptiness would return. He wasn’t answering any of my calls. I was beginning to worry. May said they were together. Where was he? It had been hours since May had called me. The sound of the door opening made us both stand from our seats.
Jisung walked in with heavy shoulders and blood on his forehead and smeared across his shirt. He had dried tears staining his cheeks. I had seen the footage of the shooting on the news with May, but the sight of Jisung standing before us made my heart break.
I held myself back as May went to her nephew. They needed each other. I could wait. Whispers between the two were shared, most likely about her husband. She had already gotten a call, but hearing it from Jisung seemed important to her. After a moment she excused herself, saying something about wanting to go to bed.
The two of us stood in silence. I had no idea how to comfort him. How could you comfort someone who just watched their uncle die? Jisung started to slowly move towards his room. Wordlessly, I followed.
After I closed his door, I turned to find him staring at the walls small cries coming from his form. There were pictures of him and his uncle all over his room. Jisung sighed when I wrapped my arms around him from behind. He turned around so he could hold me to his chest. Hot tears fell against my neck as he cried.
It felt like hours before he calmed down. Gently I led him over to the bed and sat him down. All he could do was stare at his hands as I grabbed a clean shirt from his closet and a wet cloth from the bathroom. There was no fight from him as I lifted the bloodied shirt from his body and put it in the hamper.
Carefully, I lifted his chin and gently started cleaning the blood away from his face. I tried not to wipe away the tears that slowly ran down his cheeks. He looked broken-and tired like he hadn’t slept even before today’s events. My heart shattered when he finally looked me in the eye.
“I’m not ready for this.” He whispered, more tears falling.
Wrapping my arms around him, I let the clean shirt fall to the floor. “I know...” I tried to keep tears from falling from my own eyes. I concentrated on running my fingers through his hair and how tightly he held onto my waist. “You’re never going to be ready for it.” He cried even harder, making me want to scream for him.
Slowly, I laid back onto his bed, holding him on top of my chest. “No one is ever ready for what you are going through,” I whispered. His body shook from crying and he buried his nose into my neck, holding onto me as if I were the only tether keeping him from floating away. “But, you are so strong. We aren’t faced with challenges we can’t overcome.” His breathing started to steady as my hand traced patterns on this bare skin of his back. “Sometimes I wish I was normal,” He whispered.
“Ji, you are anything but normal. And that’s okay. But for now...you can just be here. I’ll be with you. When you’re ready you can do whatever you need to. But...just stay here for now.”
He nodded and held onto me even tighter. I listened to his breath, gently rubbing his back and playing with his hair. When I knew he was asleep, I let myself do the same. Tomorrow would be another day. I would most likely have to leave and let Jisung and May grieve, but for now, I could be with him. Hopefully, that was enough.
Early the next morning, I woke up to an empty bed. Jisung’s covers were loosely wrapped around me and his window was cracked open, letting a strip of sunlight in. Slowly, I sat up and rubbed my head. It was quite unusual for him to be up this early. Well, it was quite unusual for me to be up this early, but it was like my body had a sensor for when he was gone. I pulled my phone from the table and started to text him.
The sound of the window opening caused my attention to turn. I froze as I saw Jisung climbing through the window. “What the fuck!” He froze when he saw me. My eyes widened, taking the sight in. Jisung was standing before me wearing a familiar red and blue suit, a mask in his hand.
“Y/n, I can explain...”
Was Jisung Spiderman? Was my best friend Spiderman? Holy shit! “Okay explain!” He simply stared at me, eyes wide. His hand came to scratch the back of his neck. His eyes avoided mine as my arms crossed my chest.
“Jisung, might I suggest explanation protocol #38 for Miss L/n?”
“Oh my God! Friday, shut up! You aren’t helping.”
I watched as Jisung said to the AI apparently in his suit before he tossed the mask onto his desk. “You have an explanation protocol for me?” The look on his face showed that he knew he was in trouble.
“See the thing is...I’m not Spiderman-...” He stopped when I glared at him. “Okay, I am Spiderman. This is my internship with Mr.Stark.” Without hesitation, I got up from his bed and started slapping his arm.
“This doesn’t even hurt, does it? You have superstrength. Oh my god, I’m going to fucking murder you.” An aggravated sigh left my chest. “So this whole entire time you have been swinging around the city saving people and doing flips on buildings and I was none the wiser?” I said turning back to him.
“That was one time! But...yes.” He stood awkwardly in his own room. “Look, I’m sure you have a lot of questions.” He gulped when my stern gaze turned back on him. “So, anything you ask I’ll answer.”
“Who else knows?”
“Mr. Stark, Happy- the guy who is my supervisor-, and Felix.”
“FELIX?”
He flinched as my voice raised. Taking a breath, I calmly sat back down on his bed. He watched as I crossed my legs and turned off the sound on my phone. No way was I gonna let my parents interrupt this conversation. “How did you become like...this...” I asked pointing to his clearly toned physique.
“At first I thought it was just like another puberty thing. But, like puberty doesn't make me shoot webs out of my hands. I think it was that spider from the lab.”
“So do-...are all your...bodily fluids...like...webs? Like do you shoot webs out of everywhere or-”
“You wanna find out?” Jisung said with a smirk, coming closer. I did not hesitate to slap him.
“You couldn’t think of a better name though? Spiderman, really? You couldn’t come up with something more aggressive?”
“Well, I mean...like - spiders are cool, okay!”
I could tell he was uncomfortable. Usually, Jisung always stood up straight and had some sort of a smile or smirk on his face, but he was truly nervous. He watched me expectantly, waiting to answer whatever questions I asked next.
“So when you said you were away on a company retreat for the weekend. That was actually you who was fighting Captain America and all that shit in Prauge?”
“Yes.”
“When you left that night, did you go to the arms deal?”
“Yes.”
“So, it was you who saved me.”
“Your welcome.”
“Don’t push it.”
Nervously, he let out a laugh. No matter how many questions I asked...he was still my best friend. I was proud of him. He was doing so much good. Don’t get me wrong I was still very pissed at him for not telling me. “You owe me pizza at Tony’s for the rest of the fucking year.” A sigh of relief left his chest and he wrapped me in a hug.
“That’s fine by me. I’m honestly surprised you didn’t ask about the whole crush thing.” I pulled away to see that fucking smirk on his mouth. “I think it’s cute you’re in love with me.” He tugged me closer to his body, gripping my waist.
“Who says I’m in love with you?”
“Me.”
“You’re an asshole- you say a lot of stupid shit.”
“I’m an asshole, not a liar. There’s a difference.”
My breath caught in my throat when I saw his eyes glance down to my lips. I could practically feel my heartbeat pulsing through my entire body. It was true and he knew it. I was in love with him. “Well....what are you going do about it? Prick...” I said in a shaky breath. He let out a soft laugh, his eyes lighting up.
“Kiss you....bitch.”
My heart went crazy as he pressed his lips to mine. Closing my eyes, I melted into his touch. This was definitely the craziest two days of my entire life. I never would have imagined I would have to comfort my best friend, find out he was a superhero running around New York, and then have him kiss me in his bedroom.
Jisung smiled as I kissed him back, draping my arms around his neck and threading my fingers through his blonde hair. Never in my wildest dreams had I thought kissing Jisung would be like this. Without his mouth leaving mine he pushed me up against the wall of his bedroom. He sighed when my teeth caught his bottom lip.
“Fuck...do you know how long I’ve thought about this?” He asked before returning to my lips.
“Kissing me?”
“To be honest I’ve been thinking about more than that since I was thirteen.”
Ignoring my scoff, Jisung continued to attack my lips like he had found water for the first time after walking in a desert. His hands slid under my legs, making me shriek when he picked me up. In one swift motion, he turned around and threw me onto his bed, before hovering over me. “I love you,” He whispered, before placing a soft kiss on my lips. Slowly, he moved down to my neck, my hands running through his soft hair. Impatiently, I pulled him back to my lips.
Our little makeout session was interrupted by the sound of Jisung’s phone ringing. He sighed and dropped his head onto my shoulder. “I have to get that,” He sighed and pushed himself off the bed, walking over to pick up his phone. My eyes couldn’t help but rake over him. Now, I could freely ogle how gorgeous his body was. I bit my lip, looking at the lines of his broad shoulders go down to his slim waist.
“Happy, now is not a good time.”
“Yes....among other things...” A blush flooded his cheeks as he looked back at me still laying on his bed.
“Can’t Mr. Stark send someone else?”
“I’m not just going to up and leave.”
Getting bored, I got up and wrapped my arms around him. He tried to look over at me, but I just buried my face in his chest. Patiently, I waited for him to finished the call with Happy. Finally, he threw the phone onto his bed and kissed me again. “Do you have to go?” I asked against his lips. He pulled away another smirk filling his face.
“You want to go to Berlin for a week?”
“What?”
“Mr. Stark needs me in Berlin. Something about S.H.I.E.L.D and an Avenger thing. But, there is no way May will let me go. Especially after yesterday.”
“Why am I going?”
“Happy said I could take you with me, you know to convince May to let me go.”
I laughed and kissed him again. “Sure. I’ll go to Berlin with you.” He laughed and spun me around the room. “However, you are gonna be the one to tell my dad that we are going alone with no chaperone to a country where the drinking age is sixteen.”
“Fuck.”
“Good luck, Ji.”

“It’s just nice to finally see you smiling...”
Warnings: Smut (18+), cursing, dirty talk-ish, etc.
Word Count: 2,158
Requested: Yes. From Wattpad.
Note: First of all, I just want to say that this is not a slam to Joe/Roman’s wife. I simply just couldn’t find a good name to fill in and I didn’t want to say Joe’s girlfriend/his girlfriend throughout the entirety of the story. Thank you guys so much for continuously reading my sh*tty writing. I hope all of you are staying safe and healthy and clean. Slightly edited. Please excuse any errors.
            ------
Tumblr media
As the sun begins to lower behind the mountains in the distance, Joe and Aaliyah try to outrun the rain. They bend their heads down and Aaliyah places the hood of her jacket over her head, yet the downpour doesn’t ease. Puddles were already forming in the dense spots of Joe’s yard and the rocky pathway to his porch was slippery, but the two made it safely into the house.
“I’m gonna go get us a change of clothes,” Joe said while placing his keys into the bowl that sat in the middle of the table beside the front door. “Galina should have something for you to change into. I’ll be right back.”
And with that, Joe stepped through the rooms of his house with ease while leaving a thin trail of water behind him. Aaliyah walked through the living room and into the kitchen where she opened the refrigerator door. She grabbed one of the cold water bottles from the shelf and closed the fridge before stepping near the counter. Before she could even swallow what was in her mouth, Joe’s voice boomed through the house so loud that it made Aaliyah jump, knocking some of the liquid from the bottle out onto the countertop.
“I can’t fucking believe this!” Joe yelled. Aaliyah knew it was Joe’s business and not hers yet she couldn’t stop herself from investigating. Coming to the main bedroom where Joe and Galina slept, the door was wide open and a man that Aaliyah didn’t know rushed past her.
“Joe- listen to me- stop, please!” Galina yelled. Aaliyah peeked her head through the door to find Galina chasing Joe around the room as he quickly packed a couple of bags. “Joe-”
“No, Galina. I’ve heard your excuses for too long and they’re all bullshit. Again. You do this to me again. After time and time again you promised you’d change. ...Why am I not enough for you?” Joe asked, his eyes burning with pathetic tears.
“This has nothing to do with your worth. I just-”
“What, Galina? You just what?”
Galina didn’t say anything. Instead, she lifted her head to find Aaliyah eavesdropping in on her and Joe’s problems.
“Of course you’re here,” Galina scoffed. “Don’t you have your own life to live? Or is inviting yourself into other peoples’ problems a hobby of yours? This is none of your business, so leave.”
“You know what? You’re right. It is none of my business what goes on in other people's’ lives. But it becomes my business when Joe calls me at two in the morning crying because his girlfriend constantly makes him feel like shit. Check yourself before you come and attack other peoples’ actions,” Aaliyah spits, her eyes narrowing at Galina. “You can stay with me until you figure out what you’re doing, Joe.”
“Thank-”
“Hell no,” Galina yells, interrupting Joe. “You are not going with her-”
“And who’s gonna stop me? You? Because as far as I’m concerned, Galina, we’re done. You don’t tell me what to do anymore,” Joe says and zips up his suitcase.
“Joe if you walk out that door with her, don’t bother coming back,” Galina threatens.
“I’ll be back to pick up the rest of my stuff. Don’t worry, I still have a key.”
Aaliyah helps Joe grab a few more things before they walk outside to his car. Loading up the trunk, Joe turns to Aaliyah. “Thank you for always being there for me.”
“Don’t worry ‘bout it, big dog. It’s what best friends are for,” Aaliyah smiles and pokes his chest. Joe smiles and closes the trunk. They walk around and climb into the car, only to buckle up and drive off toward Aaliyah’s apartment.
                                                        ______
When they arrived at Aaliyah’s apartment after picking up some food, Joe immediately made himself at home. Aaliyah told him that he’d be staying in the guest room that he always sleeps in when he stays over. While Joe went and unpacked, Aaliyah served out their plates piled with several Chinese dishes and grabbed two ice-cold beers from her fridge. She set everything out on the coffee table in the living room and turned the tv on. And when Joe returned, they agreed on a show to watch while eating before digging into their food.
In the midst of the episode, Joe grabs the remote and hits the pause button. They were long done with their meals yet they both got hooked on the show and decided to watch a few more episodes before going downstairs to the gym.
Joe turns toward Aaliyah and opens his mouth to say something. “...Do you ever want to tell someone something… yet you don’t know how to say it or how it’ll affect your relationship with that person?” Joe asked.
“I know what that feels like, yes,” Aaliyah answers. What was making him think of this, she thought. Her stomach tightened with the idea of Galina telling Joe something or one of Aaliyah’s friends going behind her back to say something to Joe. They couldn’t have… right? She hoped. Joe would have told her something… wouldn’t he have?
“Have you ever had feelings for someone who was a close friend?” It was as if he knew and he was just playing a game with her. Aaliyah could feel the skin on her neck heat up and her ears begin to burn.
“Uhm,” she coughs. “What’s this regarding, J? Do you have feelings for one of your friends?”
“Well… I don’t know. It’s- well, it’s complicated,” he says. Aaliyah nods. She understood considering he literally just got out of a toxic relationship no more than three or four hours ago. “I guess now that I can think without being nagged at, I’m coming to realize that there may be someone I’ve always sort of wanted to be with, does that make sense?”
“Yeah. It makes total sense because up until now, you never had any time to yourself to sit and reflect on anything. Feelings require thinking sometimes too, ya know.”
“Thank you, Aaliyah,” Joe says and reaches for the remote but Aaliyah stops him. “What?”
“Who is it?” she asks.
“What do you mean?”
“Who have you always wanted to be with?” She’s more specific. Deep down she hoped he’d say her name but she knew that they were just friends, best friends, and Joe deserved more than she could ever give him. Aaliyah wasn’t Joe’s type. She was weird and funny, and while she was his go-to for basically everything, Joe was romantically interested in serious girls who always seemed to have an attitude.
“Oh- it's no one. Not important,” he chuckles and reaches for the remote again. Aaliyah grabs the remote from the table and turns the tv all the way off. “C’mon-”
“Tell me. C’mon, big dog, it’ll be another one of our little secrets,” Aaliyah laughs. Joe smiles and shakes his head.
“Really, it’s no one-”
“Oh please, J. I know you and I know that that kind of smile only forms when you’re lying. Tell me.”
Joe falls back against the couch, his eyes squeezed closed as he laughs. When he looks at her, Aaliyah could swear her heart melted inside her chest. His dark eyes sparkled and Aaliyah’s eyes fill with bittersweet tears. Joe perches up and grabs her hand, his eyes now full of worry.
“What’s wrong?” he whispers and raises her face so that he can see into her eyes. “Tell me what’s wrong.”
“I don’t know…” Aaliyah laughs. “It’s just nice to finally see you smiling, to see you happy.”
Joe’s heart clenches in his chest and he can’t resist the urge to pull Aaliyah into his chest, his lips connecting with the top of her head. He rubs her back and kisses her forehead when she decides to pull away from the embrace. It was as if something shifted between them, the air around them becoming more intense. The way they looked at each other was different than any other time. More lustful… more romantic.
The big dog was the first to make a move, leaning in and brushing his lips against Aaliyahs. And as if it was instinct, Aaliyah pushes her lips against his. Joe pulls her closer, her legs now on either side of his waist as he sinks further onto the couch; their lips still connected. Groaning, Aaliyah begins to rub herself against Joe’s clothed dick. Joe’s hands begin to roam all over Aaliyah’s body, squeezing at her ass before running up under her shirt and unclasping her bra. His tongue slides into her mouth and he is able to fully taste her.
“You feel so good,” Joe groans, his lips planting sloppy wet kisses on the skin of her neck. He bites here and there before sucking on the flesh and leaving a blood-red mark where his lips used to be.
Aaliyah thinks for a moment and sits up, asking, “Are you sure we should be doing this? You just got out of a relationship.” Joe looks up at her, his hands on her hips.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been more sure about anything in my entire life. I want this. I want you.”
Aaliyah smiles and pulls her shirt and bra over her head. She hovers over Joe and dips her head down to where she can plant another kiss on his lips. Joe grins and wraps his arms around her, his tongue sliding back into her mouth. He slides his hands into her pajama shorts and squeezes the plump skin of her ass again, groaning into her mouth before biting her lip and watching it snap back in place.
Aaliyah grabs Joe’s shirt and pulls on it and Joe rushes to pull it over his head. She runs her hands down his now naked torso, her finger tracing some of the patterns of his tattoo. “Do you have a condom?” she asks him and bites her lip.
“Fuck.. no,” Joe sighs. “I didn’t think to grab the box I had before I left-”
“It’s okay. Just pull out,” she smiles. Joe’s stomach did a flip and he felt his cock twitch in his pants.
“You may just kill me, woman,” he teased.
Their lips meet again in a more passionate, more hungry kiss. Joe raises up and lays Aaliyah down on her back. He kisses down her neck, sucking and biting at her soft skin. His hands pull her shorts from her waist and down her legs and he throws them elsewhere. Aaliyah spreads her legs and lets Joe slide in between them, his hot skin coming in contact with her sex which makes her moan.
“You’re wearing too many clothes,” Aaliyah moans out as Joe begins sucking on her nipples. “I want you inside of me… please,” she whines.
Joe groans and stands up. He pushes the sweatpants down his strong, long legs and steps out of them, kicking them across the room. Aligning himself with her entrance, Joe looks into Aaliyah’s eyes as he slowly sinks into her pussy. In unison, they moan loud enough for Aaliyah’s neighbors to hear. But neither of them cared. Joe pulls out halfway before pushing himself back into her, groans emerging from his throat while he watches his cock slide in and out of her.
“You feel so good,” Joe praises. He pulls her leg up and pushes himself deeper, hitting a different angle inside of her.
“You’re so big,” Aaliyah moans, her head falling back and her eyes rolling to the back of her head. Joe picks up his pace, his arms now on either side of her head.
“Look at me, baby. Let me see those beautiful eyes,” he whispers. His hips roll into her at a deeper and harder rhythm. Aaliyah’s nails rake up and down Joe’s back and she wraps her arms around his biceps, her face falling into his neck. Joe reaches his hand down and begins to rub her clit in circular motions, bringing her closer to an orgasm. Raising his head up, Joe looks into Aaliyah’s eyes as he sends her into her first climax of the night. He continues to pump himself into her, his cock twitching against her walls and she clenches around him. Joe’s back arches and he begins to release his load into her.
“I’m so fucking in love with you,” he groans out, his voice strained as he comes inside of her; his face buried in her neck.
Aaliyah kisses his temple as his body begins to relax. She rubs his arm and kisses the bulging muscle in his bicep. Running her hand through his lengthy hair, Aaliyah peppers kisses across his skin. Joe begins to move and raises up, wrapping his arms around her. He leans down and gives her a deep kiss.
“You forgot to pull out,” Aaliyah whispers against his lips and giggles. Joe smiles and kisses her lips again.
“Oops.”

How would (female) Darling react to a yandere King of the human world and a yandere Queen of vampires fighting for Darling’s hand)? [Headcannons]
Hello everyone, I hope you didn't wait too long.( ˘ ³˘)♥
I wasn't sure how to write this one, but it's a really interesting concept and I couldn't leave it behind.
I don't think this is my best work, since the story that I'm going for is a little too big to be contained in a headcanon, so all may feel a little fast, and a little too long at the same time.
So maybe I'm going to make an proper fanfiction with an longer experience of this events. And I'm sorry if this isn't what you were waiting for, and if there is too many errors. This is so huge, is a nightmare!
Also, a little trigger warning, there is an mention of an increasing number of deaths caused by an "disease", but is mostly used in the headcanon as a little plot point, and is mostly because I like to reference the anime Shiki when I write about vampires. But if you feel like this may trigger or affect you in anyway, especially considering the recent events, I would just like to warn you right now.

Crossfire [Yandere Human King x F!Reader x Yandere Vampire Queen]:
Being born as an commoner was already hard enough, you didn't need anymore trouble in your life!
You started working inside the castle as a simple gardener, attending to the gardens inside the castle walls. The queen was known to love gardens, well, until she passed away.
The queen passed away years before you started working inside the castle, and the original king? Died a couple of months ago.
Both stated to have mysterious causes of death. Most likely caused by an disease.
The coronation of the prince wasn't so long ago, so he is your king now. But even working under his roof, you only met him a couple of times.
Some of your co-workers who had been here way longer than you would say he was a childish, egotistical man, who only cared about his wealth and power over the happiness of others. He didn't have a good relationship with the older king, and his mother passed away when he was only 5 years old.
It wasn't a surprise for any of them that the new monarch would be an bitter man. Yet, he didn't seem to tend to only his needs.
Although he is very rude to you and the other servants, he seems to take his responsibilities really seriously. He seems, almost always on edge, but you don't know why.
Your task made it really easy to never interact with him, he seems to dislike going in his mother garden. You started feeling uneasy out in the garden, you could tell someone was watching you, and when you looked to find out who it was, you could see the king himself watching you from a window. Yet, even when meeting his gaze, you still felt like there was another pair of eyes watching you.
One day, when you start to feel really paranoid, he decides to visit the garden.
"- Oh! Greetings, your majesty!" You bow down to him, trying to hide your surprise, yet it didn't go unnoticed by him, he did came out of nowhere while you were doing your job after all.
"- Good morning, miss [Y/N], right?" He doesn't seem to care about being to formal, but you still feel a little afraid to act the same way towards him.
"- It's been so long since I last came here." He says. Looking around at this place which seems so familiar, yet so foreign at the same time.
He seems to be daydreaming, memories of his mother flow through his mind causing him to feel desperate to go back inside the castle walls. Yet, he feels like he needs to be here.
He knows you shouldn't be here. It's dangerous in the garden, his mother said so.
"- A-are you okay?" His breathing, his whole body language tells you he is not okay. His almost hypnotized by whatever terrible thoughts going on his mind. It's the first time you see a different expression on his face. It's not one of anger or of silent disgust, is fear.
 It's like a child.
You can't have him passing out like this, you take him to the nearest sit so he can calm down.
"- I am calm!" He corrects you, clearly lying yet trying to strike his usual confident and superior act.
"- No, you're not. Please, tell me what happened, should I call the maids? The guards?"
You asking what's going on with him, yet he can't find the words to describe it. He is too scared to say, so you should try to comfort him instead of asking too much questions.
Slowly, he start to feel more comfortable around you, your eyes, your voice, the reassuring touches, it helps him calm down. Your presence makes him forget that his is in this terrible place. You call the maids to help him out, it seems like they already know what to do in this type of situation.
Weeks after the incident, and it seems like the king has been way more attentive to you. Always coming to the garden to talk with you, although he doesn't like to go to far inside the garden. It makes your job a little more difficult since he seems to take all of your attention, yet is a better company than the winds that shake the leaves of the lonely trees.
He doesn't seem to be so rude with you. He is a little narcissistic, but not really mean towards you.
He never told you what happened that day, he only said that the garden brings bad memories. Ever since that day, he kept worrying about you.
Trying to convince you to take the roll as a maid, it would be more beneficial for you, and he could keep you away from the garden.
Yet, you never accepted his request. It seemed weird how fast you became close to the king.
You never understood why he would be so afraid at the garden, until one day, you unfortunately found out who was always watching you work in the garden.
You weren't feeling well, so you decided to take a night walk through the garden. It didn't seem like an clever idea at first (and it wasn't), but when you saw the lights coming from the garden from the window of your room, you couldn't resist taking a closer look.
Fireflies! They look like little stars dancing around the garden.
 You should have stayed inside.
Someone, or something, came from behind and neutralized you. It was too fast for you to notice, but now that you're awake as in a completely different place with an familiar knight in front of you, you guess this is what happened.
"- W-where am I?" You try asking the knight who is blocking the door. You try pulling yourself up, yet feel your hands immediately be pulled to the ground by the chains wrapping them.
This makes you instantly freak out and fully wake up. You're inside a dungeon cell.
Yet, the knight doesn't say anything. He just huffs at your whining. You were about to try take some information out of him, when someone knocks on the door.
He looks at you one last time, you can't see his face because of his helmet, yet you can still tell he is threatening you to try anything funny. He turns his way to open the door and go outside, closing the door after getting out.
You can't hear what's going on outside, but since you're all alone, you might as well try to take a good look around. There is only the door, a uncomfortable looking bed, and a window too small for you to fit in.
Noticing that the only light in the room, was the moonlight coming through the window. It is still night time. There must be away out-
"- Evening." Said an female voice. It was monotone, yet seductive in a way. You turn around to find an tall woman wearing dark, extravagant clothes.
Her face was covered by an dark veil, it was as if she was an bride wearing fully black, or an black widow. You didn't recognize her voice, or her appearance, yet you could only feel extremely frightened by her presence.
"- I didn't think you would be awake this early, but since you're finally conscious we can get to know each other." She says as she starts to walk closer to your shaking form. You can't see her eyes, but you can tell she is staring at your very soul.
This feeling is way too familiar to you.
"- Who are you? Where am I?" Trying to maintain a confident attitude you ask who is she. Yet, you are visibly too scared to strike a threatening tone, she notices this and laughs at your naivety.
She kneels down and is face to face with you. This is not exactly how she wanted things to go, yet she is just so thirsty, she can't wait any longer!
"- Aham." You hear the knight call the woman's attention, he seems annoyed with the lady. But either she doesn't notice him, or is just ignoring him. She just keeps observing you with a smile on her pale face.
"- Your majesty." He calls, oh, well apparently your kidnapper is royalty! You don't feel honored by that even a little bit.
"- Yes?" She says overly cheerful, while cupping your cheeks and turning your face, examining your neck. You hold your whimpers, you feel like that would be giving her too much satisfaction.
"- I'm aware I'm not in any position to question your actions-"
"- Yes, absolutely. You're not!" She giggles, although her statement wasn't necessarily mean, her tone seemed to change between anger and playfulness, like she is mocking the knight intrusive behavior.
"- May I ask why I had to go to the filthy castle, to bring you just a simple gardener?"
"- Excuse me?" She finally turns to look up at the knight, who can easily see the mistake he has made. Her tone is serious this time around.
"- I mean- Why her? Why not bring the king? Or any more powerful member of that place? We could have planned an elaborate attack, destroy their kingdom and bring in the humans for-" You started to really dislike where he was going, but before you could get all of the information, the queen shushes him, before he spilled so much info.
"- Oh, my dear, loyal knight, can't you see we have a quest?" She almost yells at him so he could stop mumbling.
"- You're making her afraid~" She pinches your cheek.
"- WE don't want her to be afraid on her first night, right?"
 ' How considerate.' You think.
"- And for your question… Well-"
She pauses putting a finger over her lips, thinking over what her knight just said.
"- It's true we could have stuck we the plan and destroy the human kingdom fully, and although it is NONE of your business, I'm going to explain to you why I asked you to get me this sweet looking girl instead."
 "- …"
The room falls silent, is she waiting for him to question? She wraps her arms around you, her grip is almost squeezing the air in your lungs out.
 "- … W-why?-"
"- Because I'm extremely pick with what I drink, love." She keeps giggling and hugging you tighter. Wait, what did she mean by-
"- And you, my lovely knight, is in no position to question me, or are you?" Her tone is playful, yet her whole demeanor seems so threatening.
He keeps his head down, you can hear him say a meek "yes". Maybe he is just as scared if her as you are.
"- Leave." Her happy tone goes away again and is replaced by the serious one.
He stumbles a little, but manages to get out of the cell as quick as he could.
After she makes sure she can't listen to his footsteps anymore, she signs and turns her full attention on you.
"- Sigh, I lost the mood, you know?"
Yeah, you know exactly what she is talking about.
"- Oh don't look at me like that, aren't you glad you're here? You're in presence of a vampire queen, you know?"
"- … What?" Is all you can think of asking. What is she talking about? Vampires aren't real, right?
"- You're so cute! I'm so glad you're here, I been hungry for so many weeks now. How mean of you to make me hungry~" She smiles while teasing your neck with her fangs. They look so sharp to the touch.
She is saying the truth though. They had planned an attack for months now, yet after she saw you, she had thrown all of that preparation out of the window.
Like a spoiled child, she refuse to drink from anyone or anything. Your sweet little form plagued her mind. She was a pick drinker, nothing but the best for the queen, after all.
She was planning on having a better approach to you. Having a better room for you than the other blood stocks on the dungeons, having an good preparation to meet you in person and bring you here with her mind control.
But she is just so hungry. And you have an nice sent, better than any of the nobles of your kingdom she had drunk from.
"- Don't worry about it." She whispers, not waiting too long to just sink her fangs into you.
After so much screaming and so much failed attempts at running away from her grasp. You had fallen asleep. While she didn't know if she would stay here or go back to her chambers.
And on the castle were you once worked for, the king search for you at every corner, after noticing that you were missing from your room.

How MBTI & Enneagram affect character relatability
Tumblr media
I have a theory, and I’m going to illustrate it with the help of Adora and Shadow Weaver. I also have a personal story there.
Fun fact:
I share an MBTI type with Shadow Weaver (INFJ)
and an Enneagram type with Adora (Social 9w1).
(Not going to go into more specific subtypes right now.)
What makes this interesting to me, is how I am, in this case, pretty much a perfect example of how people tend to relate to fictional characters with similar Enneagrams, rather than similar MBTI types. My “evidence” is anecdotal of course, but I have noticed a pattern there. I think this tendency is at least one of the reasons behind some interesting phenomena in fandom and might set some light to questions like why some characterizations are more popular in fanfiction than others. (Such as why people write characters like Keith, Sasuke, Zuko and Catra as artsy emos.) But I digress. (Might get into that another time, though.)
I had watched SPOP about three times before it even crossed my mind that Shadow Weaver shared a personality type with me. While it was apparent to me the first time around, that I shared a personality type with Adora. So, why? Because one is a hero, and one is a villain, and I would rather identify with the hero?
That seems like a nice and clean answer, but I don’t think it’s quite that simple.
I think it has more to do with how I, and I think most people, relate to fiction from an emotional point of view. We tend to watch and read stories for emotional reasons, more than intellectual ones. Not that intellectual reasons don’t play a part, just that the driving force is often emotional. We’re looking to connect emotionally with the characters, otherwise we would be watching a documentary or reading a science book instead. At least that’s how it works for me, and in my experience, a lot of other people.
MBTI is about cognition, while Enneagram is about motivation. Sometimes I like to distinguish MBTI as your “intellectual type” and Enneagram as your “emotional type”. At least from that angle, it makes perfect sense, that we would relate to a character with a similar emotional type: a similar Enneagram, when we are immersed in something with our emotions.
And this is true of MBTI “thinkers” and “feelers” alike. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen INTPs claim Sherlock Holmes simply MUST be an INTP because they relate to him. When I first got into MBTI, I was guilty of that too. I thought every character I emotionally related to, was an INFJ. LOL, NOPE. I just didn’t know anything about Enneagram. After getting into that, I can easily see that the characters I most relate to, tend to have a very similar Enneagram type to mine.
Actually, it was the fact that I related to Adora so much that made me especially blind to the possibility that I might relate to Shadow Weaver in any way. That’s why I find this personal example so juicy. It’s because in the emotional dynamic between Adora and Shadow Weaver, I related to Adora a 100% and then some. I’ve had my Shadow Weavers, and reacted to them in a way a Social 9w1 will. We are people pleasers because we lack a solid sense of self, and we do exactly as we are told to avoid conflict, separation and loss (our worst fear).
Tumblr media
In the worst case scenario, we believe we need to constantly excuse our very existence.
(Like seriously, it can get ridiculous. When I was around ten, if I was at a friend’s house, I didn’t have it in myself to ask for a glass of water if I was thirsty. Even when it was offered to me without asking, I found it hard to accept, because I had done nothing to pay for that water. Even though I live in a country with the best access to clean water in the world, so one glass of water costs practically nothing.)
Given all that, it makes sense that I wouldn’t even consider relating to Shadow Weaver, because to me she very much represents everything toxic that I experienced as a child and needed to unlearn in adulthood.
But after taking a step back from that emotional angle, it’s pretty easy for me to see that cognitively speaking, I’m not Adora, who is an ESTJ. I’m pretty much the polar opposite. Which is Shadow Weaver, as weird as it feels to me.
As INFJs, we are very good at understanding another person’s psychological make up. We easily take anyone’s point of view and use that to influence the people around us. We don’t naturally gravitate towards the spotlight or a leadership role, we are at our most effective in one-on-one communication.
Obviously, Shadow Weaver uses all this to manipulate and abuse people, to get her way and her narcissistic supply. I use it to help my friends see their problems more accurately, and themselves in an encouraging light. (And to write fiction!) Shadow Weaver uses it to cause conflict between people by distorting their view of reality, I use it to ease conflict by an attempt to bring more clarity.
But that doesn’t mean we are not both INFJs, because we definitely are. Upon a closer look, I find many things about Shadow Weaver relatable.
She’s definitely an introvert driven by her internal vision, her idea of power, and she’s thinking leaps ahead, like she does the moment she sees Adora as a baby. (Ni) She’s a great communicator, but it’s more of a means to an end to her than it is a passion. (Fe) It seems like the very concept of power interests her more than what practical things she can do with it (Ti).
And her vision is SO MUCH BIGGER than her abilities. That’s exactly how I’ve felt my whole life, because inferior Se will do that to you. You don’t see the step-by-step approach to your GRAND VISION even though you can see the end result so clearly in your head that you swear you can touch it. Your insight can be so accurate that you can (deliberately, or accidentally) make people think you’re connected to some mystical higher power even though you’re mostly just full of sh*t (=ideas, abstractions).
It’s like, your whole life, you’ve been working towards one goal, one vision, that is just on the other side of a river, but you CAN’T FIGURE OUT HOW to get across. If you could JUST do that, then on the other side ALL your dreams would come true, everything you’ve worked for, for your entire life would COME TOGETHER in pure AWESOMENESS because you’ve been thinking, and planning and fantasizing and putting all of your mental energy into it, and just aching to get across that river. And then, a f*cking ESTP (Catra) shows up, farts a bridge, gets to the other side, and once they’re there, they have NO. CLUE. WHAT. THE F*CK. THEY. ARE. EVEN. DOING. THERE.
I’m getting carried away.
Emotionally, or, motivationally speaking I don’t relate to Shadow Weaver. Like, at all. I couldn’t care less about having power over other people. I can’t bear the thought of hurting another person. (I still cry at night sometimes because I once called my brother’s helmet “stupid” as a child, when he was annoying me.) I don’t need to be the most powerful or put others down in order to feel whole. The idea of hindering someone’s growth into their happiest and truest self is horrifying to me.
But still, my brain works similarly to hers. I’m full of ideas that are connected to the same big vision I’ve had my entire life, but getting there efficiently enough requires a lot more brain work and trial and error from me than some other types.
Emotionally speaking I relate to Adora so much. I get anxious if I’m not constantly doing something “useful”. I feel responsible for other people’s happiness. I feel tremendous guilt every time I have to say “no” to someone in order to rest and take care of myself. I feel like a failure when I’m not able to fix someone’s problem. I feel obligated to sacrifice myself because I “can”. When I was voted the least desirable girl in my class, I was just relieved it wasn’t anyone else, because I knew my friends would have shattered if it were them. (Hint: it wasn’t because I had better self-esteem. It was because my self-esteem wasn’t a concern for me in the first place.)
Tumblr media
And yet, I’m also nothing like Adora when it comes to cognitive make up. It would be interesting to dive deep into why the ESTJ 9 combination is totally fascinating for me, but this post is too long for that already.
My point is:
1) In terms of relatability in fiction, Enneagram might play a bigger role than MBTI.
2) Sometimes people get into heated arguments about a character’s type because they can only see a character they relate to, as their own type, and that’s intellectually dishonest. (As a personality junkie, I care.)
3) It’s OKAY to relate to a character with a different MBTI from you. MBTI is not everything. Enneagram is not everything either. There might be another reason.
4) Sometimes people seem to feel like they need to be like their favourite character in EVERY way, to justify their experience of relating to that character. Well, you don’t. Having the same cognitive type doesn’t automatically lead to the same motivational type, or the same life experiences, or the same relationship style or the same neurotype, or anything else. These can all be different, and your experience is valid no matter where the relatability comes from.
5) If you relate to a character, there’s a reason for it, and you’ll get the most out of it, if you try to discover that reason as honestly as possible and not automatically assume it must be your MBTI (or something else). Those four letters are not the most important thing about anyone, so you don’t need those to “claim” a character to your side of things.
6) You have no obligation to emotionally relate to a character with the same type as yours. I can assure you my feelings towards Shadow Weaver did not become any warmer after discovering we shared an MBTI type, and that’s okay too.

Type Found - Chapter 2
I currently have a migraine. Sorry for any errors. Not linking just yet, will tomorrow. :D
This is the comfort part of hurt/comfort :D
AU: Slight Pokemon AU (Basically everything is the same, they just have a partner pokemon for funzies) Pairing: Platonic Chocobros Words: 3963 Warnings: Injury, bleeding, crying, implied that Prompto knows about his past. Anything else, please let me know!
Summary: After clearing out yet another empire base, Prompto is ready to celebrate. An unfamiliar sound grabs his attention, however, and draws him into a cramped room on the far end of the base. He knows its stupid and dangerous, but upon finding an injured animal locked in a cage, Prompto decides he needs to get it out of there. The question is... how?
--
It had taken a while to get the creature out of the cage. The sun had just started to set when Prompto finally was able to have the creature step outside of the room. He started leading it towards the exit, making sure that the others were remaining out of sight for as long as possible – the last thing he wanted was it going off and attacking them. However, his injuries were starting to catch up with him and Prompto was having difficulties walking.
Thankfully, they made it outside the base with few difficulties and made the short walk back to the haven the group had already set up camp on. At least, that’s what Prompto aimed to do. Instead, he ended up standing beside the creature as it took in the surroundings.
It was still, watching the trees sway in the breeze and listening to the birds cry as they flew overhead. It cautiously pawed at the dirt and grass below its feet, lowering its head to get a closer look. Prompto wondered if it could smell anything with that helmet on. It took longer than expected, but they did end up seated at the haven and Prompto began to clean up the wound on the creature’s hind leg. After covering it with bandage, Prompto sat cross-legged beside the creature’s head and enjoyed the light wind as it ruffled his hair.
One at a time, the others joined them.
Ignis was first. He simply offered a nod of acknowledgement when Prompto greeted him. The creature locked its gaze onto Ignis and watched him as he went about his usual return to camp business. It was only once he started to approach Prompto, a box of medical supplies in hand, that the creature started to curl in on itself and growl lowly.
Prompto slowly pet its mane, trying to calm it down, “It’s okay. It’s just Iggy. He’s not gonna hurt you.” He’d long since finished helping out the creature and was now just relaxing alongside it.
Ignis ignored the creature’s threatening nature and simply set himself down on the opposite side of Prompto, holding his hand out for Prompto’s injured arm which was quickly placed in it. He said nothing as he looked the cut over, adjusting his glasses as they slipped down his nose slightly. It wasn’t an extremely deep wound, but it would take a day or two to fully heal. Ignis let Prompto’s arm fall as he rummaged in the box for the cleaning solution. It was eerily quiet.
“This will sting a little.” Ignis’ voice was quiet once he finally did speak. Prompto’s arm had been brought back into his hand. The gunner nodded and took in a breath to prepare before the cotton dabbed against the wound. Prompto hissed and a pained whimper inadvertently fell from his lips as the fluid did its job. However, the sound had the creature beside him raising its head, ready to protect its saviour.
Ignis did not stop. He shifted his gaze from the cut he was cleaning to the creature’s watchful gaze and back. He was making a bit of a show of his actions, moving more than was strictly necessary.
“Uh, Iggy? What are you doing?” Prompto asked, head tilted in question.
“Cleaning the wound.” Ignis simply responded.
“Okay… s,sure…”
“Am I doing something wrong?”
“No! No, no! Of course not!” Prompto gestured wildly with his free arm, trying to search for the words he needed to explain what he was thinking, “It was just that, y’know, you were doing it, like… weird?”
“How so?”
Prompto groaned in frustration. He knew that Ignis knew exactly what he meant, but the advisor always wanted to hear it from them. “I dunno! It was like, you were, doing it… bigger for some reason!”
Ignis only hummed a noise in response. Prompto was going to ask again when a weight rested upon his knee. He looked down to find the creature resting its head almost in his lap. Its eyes were still trained on Ignis’ hands, but it seemed far calmer. It was only watching curiously. That was when it clicked in Prompto’s brain. Ignis was making a show of it so that the creature could see that he was helping Prompto. Warmth bubbled in Prompto’s stomach, untying some of the knot that had settled earlier in the day, and he relaxed as Ignis started to wrap bandages around his arm.
Ignis was getting to his feet when Noctis arrived. The prince was avoiding looking in Prompto’s direction entirely.
“Hey Noct!” Prompto called out, trying to gain his best friend’s attention. He only got an odd grunt in return before Noctis entered the tent and pulled the flaps down, effectively shutting out the world. Prompto’s already weak smile dropped completely. “Oh, uh, yeah, okay. Um… see you, later?” His voice trailed off. The knot tightened again and, absent-mindedly, his hand began to run through the creature’s mane again. Prompto’s focus narrowed to the rock floor of the haven, suddenly finding the glowing blue runes one of the most interesting sights he’d ever seen.
Prompto didn’t see Ignis’ exasperated look towards the now closed tent flaps, nor the moment as the advisor descended from the haven for a brief moment. He could vaguely hear something that sounded like Ignis was calling someone over, but Prompto’s mind was too far away to truly know or care. It wasn’t until heavy footsteps started to approach him and the creature began to growl lowly once more that Prompto looked up.
He forced a smile and tried his best to sound casual, “Heya.”
Gladio grunted in response. He easily ignored the growling creature beside Prompto and got close enough to crouch down to check on his arm, “How’s it?” Gladio asked, his voice quiet enough that it was more rumble than speech.
“Good. Iggy cleaned it up all nice.” Prompto sent a grin over to the aforementioned man who’d settled himself into one of the camping chairs. Ignis simply gave a gentle tilt of his head and small gesture with the can between his fingers in acknowledgement. “I’ll be fine!”
“You sure?” Gladio’s large hand rested on – or rather, engulfed – Prompto’s shoulder. There was a light air of threat as Gladio tapped one of his fingers against the muscle at Prompto’s back, waiting for the gunner to say something.
Prompto swallowed hard, “I’m good. Promise. Like, there are aches and stuff, but nothing all that bad, I swear.”
“Okay. Just don’t push yourself, alright?”
“Yessir!” Prompto playfully saluted with his uninjured arm.
Gladio snorted in amusement before dropping his gaze to the creature that remained by Prompto’s side. Its eyes were narrowed dangerously, its growl now quieter. Gladio seemed to almost be sizing the creature up. Prompto shifted his eyes between the two, waiting to see what was about to happen.
“So, how does this thing eat?” Gladio suddenly asked.
Prompto’s face scrunched up in thought. He hadn’t considered that. Everything had happened so fast, little details like that didn’t exactly matter when all that was on Prompto’s mind was escaping with the creature, but the shield had brought up a good point. Prompto looked down at the creature, taking in the almost rust-coloured helmet that covered its entire head. His fingers tangled back into the light grey mane, “Not sure… Dunno if this thing opens…”
“Knowing them, probably not… This thing’s probably welded shut or something…” Prompto watched as Gladio’s lip twitched in disgust. The shield then sighed and stood back up to full height, dusting his hands off, “But let’s not count it out just yet. Iggy’s looking over the papers that were all over that room, seeing if there’s anything there to help us figure it out.”
That had Prompto’s gaze turning back to the advisor. How he hadn’t noticed the small stack of papers in his hands previously, Prompto wasn’t sure, but now it was all he could look at. He desperately wanted to know what was written on the pages. He wanted to know all he could about the creature that was resting against his side. He wanted to know its given name so he could change it immediately, resetting its life then and there. Prompto leaned down – ignoring the aching protests from his back – and buried his face into the creature’s neck. “Hopefully, its good news…”
The creature’s body was warm, its mane incredibly soft. It was solid beneath Prompto and the gunner allowed himself to truly relax. He shifted slightly so he could get into a more comfortable position before laying more of his weight against the creature. It didn’t seem to mind too much, if the way it settled itself down was any indication. Prompto closed his eyes with a gentle exhale.
Prompto really didn’t mean to fall asleep.
He must have been out for a good few hours. The sky was dark, and the fire was now crackling away in the pit. Prompto rubbed his eyes and stretched, glancing around the haven for the rest of the group.
It was easy to find Ignis. The advisor stood at the camp stove as usual, clearly in the middle of preparing the group’s dinner. Prompto watched for a while, admiring the way Ignis’ hands moved with such grace. He went to say something when a soft grunt of effort drew Prompto’s attention over to Gladio, who was only a short ways away. The shield had evidently removed his shirt earlier in the evening before he began to do push ups. Prompto stared, still in awe at Gladio’s ability to do them one-armed, switching between each arm with ease even after seeing it easily a hundred times. The creature that he’d been resting on sharply lifted its head, causing Prompto to jump in surprise. It started growling again, bringing its head in closer.
“Hey, it’s okay, buddy.” Prompto scratched the creature’s neck comfortingly, trying to calm it down. His eyes flicked over in the direction it was staring to find Noctis standing awkwardly just in front of the tent. The prince looked as though he was trying desperately to look unphased by the growling, but the fear in his eyes gave him away. “It’s okay. It’s just Noct.” Prompto shushed the creature quietly.
Noctis cautiously took the smallest step towards where Prompto and the creature were sat, only to flinch back when the creature huffed out a breath. He seemed to be reconsidering whatever he was going to do when a large hand clapped his back and Gladio’s weight started to crush the prince. “Get off.” Noctis attempted to pry himself out from under his shield.
“Nah. Not until you actually go speak to Prompto.” Gladio said casually, able to completely ignore the light force of Noctis trying to push him.
“I was going to. I can’t if you’re crushing me.”
“Didn’t look like it to me. Looked like you were about to chicken out.”
Noctis scowled harshly, “I was not about to chicken out.”
“Sure, princess.”
Finally, Gladio lifted his weight off of the prince. He pressed his hand harder into Noctis’ back, essentially shoving the smaller into Prompto’s space. Noctis almost tripped over his feet at the sudden movement but managed to keep himself from landing face first into both Prompto and the creature that was seated half on Prompto’s lap. It was continuing to growl protectively but was making no movements that indicated it would attack. It seemed that it had realised the men were not immediate threats, or at least were trusted by its saviour – a thought that had a pleasant, warm feeling settling into Prompto’s stomach.
Prompto keep quiet as he watched the awkward interaction. Noctis shuffled around, keeping some distance from the creature, while their eyes were locked. The prince ended up coming to sit behind Prompto, gently tossing his arms over his best friend’s shoulders and resting some of his weight onto his back.
“Is this okay?” Noctis whispered as he fidgeted. Prompto could tell he was trying to be cautious but not outwardly obvious; the last thing Noctis would want would be to hurt Prompto anymore than he already had. Noctis was reserved but was easy to read when it came to those he cared for.
Prompto let out a short laugh, “Duh, ‘course is it!”
“No, like… does it hurt?”
“Nah, I’m okay. You can relax, I won’t break or anything. I’m not made of glass, dude.” Prompto replied with a grin.
Noctis only let out a huff before burying his face into Prompto’s shoulder. The gunner didn’t press him for anything. Instead, he pulled out his phone and scrolled through his usual apps, seeing what he’d missed during the day. Prompto was about to open up King’s Knight to check on his dailies when Noctis’ finally spoke again.
“’m sorry…” Noctis mumbled.
Prompto put his phone down into his lap and reached up with his good arm to pat Noctis’ mess of black hair, “Thanks. It’s cool though, I don’t blame any of you for it. It was kinda stupid of me…” He chuckled softly.
“No, seriously. I’m sorry.” Noctis raised his head from Prompto’s shoulder so he could make eye contact, “I didn’t want you hurt, but you got even more hurt from what I did.”
“I’m sorry too.” Gladio echoed from across the haven, now sitting on his knees as he threw a towel over in the direction of the tent, “But it was pretty dumb of you to get in there.”
Prompto’s gaze dropped to the creature below him. He ran his hand down from its neck, over the length of its body and back again, “Yeah, but I couldn’t just leave him there…”
“We know, Prom…” Noctis tightened his hold around his best friend’s shoulders for a moment before relaxing once again.
An odd silence spread across the haven. There seemed to be so much more that each of them wanted to say, but they just weren’t quite sure how to say it. Prompto simply continued to pet the creature he’d saved. He knew he’d taken a crazy stupid risk getting into the cage, he knew he could have died, but it was worth it. The chance to use the freedom he’d been granted to give another the same was worth all the bruises, cuts, and aches. Prompto couldn’t stop the sappy smile that tugged on his lips. He suddenly had an idea.
“Hey Noct, wanna pet him?”
If Noctis hadn’t been leaning on something, Prompto thought he’d probably have fallen over. The prince started spewing half sentences about how he couldn’t and shouldn’t, but Prompto ignored them. He grabbed Noctis’ arm and pulled it down, gently placing his hand upon the creature’s mane. The second his fingers made contact, Noctis snapped his mouth shut. Prompto held his breath as he watched Noctis’ fingers cautiously begin to move slightly.
“It’s soft…” Noctis finally said.
“I know, isn’t it?!” Prompto grinned, almost bouncing as he went to turn around. He winced and let out a soft grunt of pain as his back protested the sudden movement.
“Careful. As much as I’m sure you are excited, you need to be cautious of your injuries.” Ignis’ voice cut through the last of the tension. He approached the trio and crouched down low, inspecting the creature’s form. Ignis seemed to encourage it to watch as he joined Noctis’ hand in carding through its mane for a moment before bringing his touch up to the helmet.
The creature had given up growling long ago. It seemed simply lost in terms of what to do with all the attention it was getting. Prompto wanted to throw himself into its neck and nuzzle it until it responded in kind, but he refrained. Instead, he watched as Ignis inspected the metal contraption.
“The reports said very little about feeding and care, unfortunately.” Ignis said, “However, it was easy to find that they had given this creature the name of Type:Null.”
“Type:Null..?” Prompto let the name drip off of his tongue. It felt so cold and clinical.
“Yes. It seems the empire managed to find some foreign research notes from an unknown location and began their own experimentations to recreate the results. Apparently, it is powerful enough to slay creatures from other dimensions, the helmet helps to contain some of the power, making it unlikely to lose control…” Ignis trailed off as he leaned in closer to Type:Null’s helmet, his gloved fingers now tracing along some of the indents and lines. Prompto wanted to ask more questions, but a loud clunk had all thoughts fleeing from his mind.
The bottom half of the helmet was now hanging slightly open.
Immediately, Prompto’s mouth was mirroring the helmet. “How’d you-?” He started to ask.
“A simple combination of observation and intuition.” Ignis curtly cut Prompto off before he could make too big a scene. “Dinner is almost ready. I believe that you and Noct should probably clean your hands before you eat.” With an almost imperceptible smile, the advisor turned on his heel and walked back over to the camp stove.
The two younger men did as they were asked, even if it did take a moment for the Type:Null to allow Prompto to leave. As fast as they could, the pair dropped down from the haven and took the very short walk to the nearby lake. They washed themselves up as fast as they could; Prompto hadn’t realised he’d had some dried blood on his cheek until Noctis splashed water in his face to clean it which led to a brief water fight. It couldn’t have been more than a couple of minutes when they clambered back up to their camp, yet somehow things seemed to have shifted fairly significantly.
Gladio was as dressed as he would be with his open shirt, helping Ignis plate up the food. The camping chairs had been moved about a little, bringing them closer together. Between two of the chairs, the Type:Null had settled itself down. It wasn’t growling, wasn’t watching every movement as intently, wasn’t snapping its head around at every sound. It was relaxed. Prompto couldn’t help the swell of his chest and the tears the pricked at his eyes. He rubbed them harshly for a moment before skipping over to see if he could help with anything while Noctis simply took up one of the chairs.
A few minutes later, all four of them were sat in chairs, chatting happily, and eating their way through the delicious food. Type:Null was between Prompto and Ignis, the jaw of its helmet still hanging awkwardly open. It was happily accepting the meal that was carefully being slipped into the gap by Ignis. It was comfortable and rewarding.
“So, Prompto, what are ya gonna call it?” Gladio asked.
Prompto glanced back down to the Type:Null who immediately made eye contact with him. He stared into its eyes for a short while, thinking.
“How about… Nullie?” Gladio snorted in amusement while Noctis almost choked on the bite he was taking. Prompto pouted, “What?”
Noctis shook his head, trying to recover, “N-nothing. Just,” he coughed a few times, “wasn’t expecting it.”
“I happen to think its wonderful.” Ignis complimented, brushing his fingers across the odd axe-like shape that protruded from the top of the helmet. They’d learnt it was likely an extension of the Type: Null’s mane.
“Definitely cute.” Gladio admitted, though he was still clearly amused by the choice.
Prompto stuck his tongue out at the shield childishly, “Well, he is cute. So it’s perfect then.”
The rest of the evening passed with relative normalcy. Ignis collected up their plates and Gladio got up to help wash up. Noctis reclined further into the camp chair and pulled out his phone, challenging Prompto to several rounds in King’s Knight. It was getting to that point where they’d need to retire for the night when a hand rested on Prompto’s shoulder, distracting him, and causing him to ultimately lose to Noctis.
“Doesn’t count! Iggy distracted me!” Prompto protested as Noctis rubbed the victory in his face.
“Apologies. However, there is something rather important that you must see to.”
Prompto tilted his head questioningly, “Uhhh, there is?”
Ignis gestured to Nullie, who was laying at Prompto’s feet, sleepily watching the two young men banter back and forth during their gaming session. The advisor then held out a box to Prompto. The realisation hit Prompto, and he let out a shaky “Oh yeah…”
With the lightest of grips, Prompto took the box. He carefully lifted the top and stared down at the colourful array of balls inside. He reverently stared at each of them for a moment before his brow creased slightly and he counted them. Suddenly, Prompto snapped his head up, “What? Iggy, I can’t just-”
“You can pick whichever you like.”
“There’s no way I could-” Prompto started to protest again but was cut off once again. This time, it was Noctis.
“We’ve been holding those for a while for you…” The prince said quietly. His eyes were locked onto his phone, but it was clear Noctis wasn’t really looking at anything. His cheeks were slightly pinker, though Prompto knew that he’d say it was from the heat of the fire.
“For me?” Prompto asked in a whisper.
“We all have our own partners.” Ignis tapped absent-mindedly at the red and white ball that sat at his hip, “With how this trip progressed so rapidly, we all came to the assumption that you might find yourself one along the way. Thus, we made sure that you would have the option of choice.”
For what felt like the hundredth time that day, Prompto felt his eyes starting to swim with tears. His gaze dropped back down to the box in his hands. Each of them were labelled with their names, all brand new and shiny. It was too much. After a few minutes of agonising silence, Prompto gingerly reached in and pulled out a green ball with red tear drop shapes – it had been labelled as Friend Ball, and he couldn’t get it out of his mind after first reading that. The lid was lowered carefully and Prompto held the box back towards Ignis, who took it from his grasp.
Prompto slipped out of the chair and to his knees, ball in hand. Nullie raised its head to watch him, eyeing the new thing with interest. Prompto swallowed hard and held it out, “You can stay here with me, with us. This can be your home. You don’t have to, obviously, but… I would love it if you did.” Prompto felt the words just tumble out of his mouth without his control.
Nullie’s gaze flicked between Prompto’s hopeful gaze, Noctis’ attempt at bored disinterest, Ignis’ watchful eye and the ball being held out before it. There was a moment where the creature seemed to consider its options. Then its helmeted head lowered so it tapped against the ball.
A shock of red light burst out from the ball as it opened. It engulfed Nullie and seemed to suck the entire body of the Type:Null inside. The light faded after the entire creature entered and it snapped shut. Prompto couldn’t bring himself to breathe as he stared at the ball in his hands. The light on the front pulsed rhythmically and it rocked from side to side for a few seconds before it stilled completely.
It took a second for everything to catch up to Prompto. When it finally did, the tears slipped from his eyes finally and he grasped a hold of the green ball tightly, hugging it to his chest. “Thank you.” He murmured as quiet as humanly possible, “I promise I’ll keep you safe.”
