MHA 419 leak reactions (real ones this time!)
AFO yells at armless child Izuku in the mind palace. That tracks.
Attacking Tomura’s psychological scars allowed AFO to re-emerge. This also tracks. If heart is power, and a scarred, fractured, walled-off interior allows for AFO’s control, then yeah, Izuku cracking “Tomura’s” armor inadvertently allowed AFO to take over the mind palace.
Oh but AFO just has to get one last jab in against Tomura, so of course he monologues about how Tomura never made a decision for himself in his whole life. Which isn’t ENTIRELY true — AFO couldn’t control young Tenko’s desire to be a hero to Mikkun and Tomo-chan…and to the League of Villains.
We do learn that AFO encouraged Tenko’s conception so he could get his perfect successor, which is just so Enji Todoroki of him.
AFO was close enough to touch baby Tenko (!!!) because he stole candy a quirk from the baby. Then AFO waited years to make Kotaro think Tenko was quirkless before implanting Decay, which is itself engineered from a quirk that could both disintegrate AND reconstruct. Boy does THAT sound like a copy of Overhaul (who was an orphan that AFO was oddly familiar with and knew by name….)
We get both a hero name (Gaen) AND real name for En (Tayutai)! No idea what they mean — Google Translate and Jsho are giving inconsistent answers — but I’m excited to find out when official translations are released!
“Tomura Shigaraki” decays and Izuku is ejected from the mind palace. But AFO doesn’t get his brother back. He says Yoichi is gone. Ruh-roh! He also says Decay and the hatred are gone. And he hears a mysterious echo. Hmm, what could be echoing inside AFO’s mind???
Izuku, now in the real world, tries to stop AFO (who is piloting Shigaraki’s meat suit). But IZUKU DISCOVERS HIS ARMS ARE GONE???? I mean, it’s not shocking bc Horikoshi has hinted at it for forever, but inneresting that either (1) the mind palace and real world ARE entertwined; or (2) AFO took Izuku’s arms as soon as he emerged in the real world. I think it’s the former, which opens the door to some fun shenanigans. I.e., what can the heroes do in the mind palace to harm AFO?
AFO taunts Izuku and says that he “from the start had nothing” … EXCEPT FOR REAL FRIENDS THAT COME TO HIS RESCUE!!!! Sero holds back AFO, proving once again that AFO has a weakness for sticky things like tape and, uh, Mineta’s balls.
Ojiro and Sato are close behind, helping Sero hold off AFO. Of course, Izuku says, “You’re safe” because he doesn’t stop thinking of others even after he lost his actual arms. How did Sero, Ojiro, and Sato get to Mt Fuji so fast?
BECAUSE AIZAWA IS BAAAAAACK!!!
Clearly, something happened with him, Mic, and Kurogiri, and they’re able to use/control Warp Gate. I am hyped and ready for this flashback, please give the Rooftop Trio 2-3 good chapters.
ALSO. Am I the only one curious that Aizawa is in proximity to AFO, and AFO always wanted Erasure? Aizawa has fought multiple Nomu and the entire League at one time or another, but he’s never been near AFO. Then again, Aizawa can’t fight with Erasure himself, so perhaps AFO taking it can get Aizawa into the mind palace……

Things I don’t get about the marauders fandom as someone who’s been obsessed with them for literal years
1. How we let so many characters be only children?? like I get that people don’t necessarily want to make OCs but HOW did it get to this? James, Marlene, Peter, Remus, Mary, Barty, Dorcas, Alice, Frank and so many others! Idk maybe it’s just where I’m from but look me in the eyes and tell me you know that many people who don’t have siblings ALSO the ratio is so off and barely any of them have only child energy. It’s just not right.
2. How sooo many of you aren’t multi shippers. Like what do you MEAN you can only see James with Regulus and Regulus with James?? What about bartylus? what about sunrose? what about draksun/sunkiller? what about moonwater? what about jily? what about prongstail? WHAT do you read?? Aren’t you bored??? WHAT DO YOU MEAN you only have ONE ship for each character???? As a multi shipper, I can be convinced of any ship with anything ranging from a real good fic or a pretty edit to an enthusiastic rant from a random person on TikTok and it just makes things interesting. Maybe my adhd brain just needs more ships to focus on or maybe some of you just lack flexibility ( or imagination), but we need to fix this cause there aren’t enough fics with the ships I like 😭😭
3. THE SHIP NAMES. I can’t be the only one who thinks some of these suck right? Like why are we saying jegulus when starchaser and sunseeker are RIGHT THERE?? Same with jily and flowerpot, and bartylus and starkiller. ALSO some names make me wonder if some of you just haven’t grasped the concept of ship names or if I just got it all wrong cause marylily and jegulily are just annoying, why are we keeping the L in Lily? The point is to merge the names together not stick them one beside the other, I just say marily and jeguily because it rolls off the tongue so much more easily
4. The Peter erasure. I just don’t get it, it’s so easy to include him in things, you don’t have to make him a main character, but just mention him every once in awhile. Sometimes I’m reading an important scene in a fic and everyone is mentioned EXCEPT for Peter! It’s so easy, just make him roll his eyes at his friends being idiots or something. And it’s not like you’ll get his personality wrong, ALL THESE CHARACTERS PERSONALITIES WERE MADE UP BY FANS but I understand that some people lack imagination so here’s some things about Peter I like to imagine: he’s a HUGE gossip, like my man sees and hears everything and he takes notes!! He likes to randomly turn into a rat and take a nap in one of the other marauders’ pocket, he does it so much that they had to tell the girls that they had a pet rat cause they were asking too many questions. He’s really perceptive and his friends are all oblivious so it leads to funny scenarios like:
Remus & Sirius after YEARS of pining: we’re dating
Peter: I thought you guys had been together since third year?
Sirius: I’ve literally introduced you to people I was dating?!
Peter, shrugging: look mate I don’t question you lot anymore, you do whatever you want, I don’t care what you’re into, I just don’t wanna know about it
He also pulls people, like he’s really nice and will gossip to anyone who’s in his vicinity so he’s friends with basically everyone and he’s funny and pretty and he’s got charisma so he just charms everyone and when I say everyone, I mean everyone, even the slytherins have a soft spot for him (that’s how he gets accepted among the death eaters during the war actually). In pranks he’s the lookout so he often has to distract the teachers so he asks them random things and spits out half-made up facts about anything so he’s besties with most of the teachers which means he doesn’t get many detentions.
5. The Black brothers, more specifically the way the speak to each other in most fics, like they call each other “brother” so often and as someone who has a brother I’ve never called him that. Is it an anglophone thing? Like do people who speak English at home all do that or are fic writers only children?? (That would explain my first point actually) Or is it more a rich people thin?? Cause I know it’s not a francophone thing that’s for sure (also special mention to people who don’t know anything about French writing Sirius and Regulus as French speakers, I can tell you don’t know what you’re writing about but I eat it up everytime anyway)
6. This is actually just about ao3 but I WANNA BE ABLE TO LEAVE MORE KUDOS!!! I just loooooove fics but I can’t leave kudos at every single chapter and I’m bad at writing comments so I can’t show the author how much I love their work, I hate itttt 😭
7. Why there aren’t more fics about the Black family, and not just Sirius and Regulus, but Andromeda, Bellatrix and Narcissa as well like that would be so interesting and maybe like a deep dive into the Black family ideals and all that (if you have fic recs I’m all ears!!)
8. How jegulily is a pretty popular ship (which I LOVE) yet SO FEW people ship Regulus and Lily outside of it! They are a power couple and I love them and they don’t need James to work!!!
9. Why there isn’t more background Minnie x Poppy cause they are my mothers and I wanna see them moooooreeee
If you read all of this I love you 🥰 have an amazing day/night

*****
Tumblr media
"The Lemkin Institute [for Genocide Prevention] believes that the so-called “gender critical movement” that is behind [USA anti-trans legislation] is a fascist movement furthering a specifically genocidal ideology that seeks the complete eradication of trans identity from the world."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I write this on April 22nd 2023, a total of 498 anti-trans bills have been introduced in the USA during 2023 alone. 19% of these bills have failed (96/498). 9% have passed (43/498). 72% of these bills are still being actively considered (359/498). This is already 286% more anti-trans bills introduced in 4 months than in the entirety of 2022 (176 bills were introduced in 2022). These bills affect;
ability to change sex marker on legal documents
preferred name usage
personal pronoun usage
access to gender-affirming care
student athletes
student bathroom usage
drag performers
and more!
This puts parents of trans children, educators, health care providers and more at risk for simply advocating for trans children. This puts trans adults and drag performers at risk. This puts trans children at risk.
Punishment for breaking anti-trans legislation is at risk of being as worse as imprisonment for life or the death penalty.
Example 1: Bill amendments HB - 4257, would define any person (including parents, doctors, coaches, teachers, etc.) involved in the gender transition of a minor as a child abuser, punishable by imprisonment for life. This bill amendment proposal has been continuously reintroduced with no sign of stopping until passed.
Example 2: "Drag ban" bills such as SB - 1438 and SB - 1698 broadly label drag as sexual conduct to "protect minors" from them. States then proceed to pass bills such as SB - 1342 that can allow sexual crimes against children to be punishable by death. Do you see the connection and how uncanny the timeline of the introduction or passing of these bills is? More than 4% of those executed are innocent but this percentage is likely higher in reality due to racial bias, economic inequality, etc. This number will only increase with prejudice against the LGBTQ+ community being legalized.
There are only 3 other accounts of trans genocide that have occurred globally:
During Nazi Germany (1920-1945), the Institute for Sexual Research was looted and destroyed. The Institute worked toward improving gender-affirming surgery and advocated for trans rights. Trans and gender non-conforming individuals faced forced detransitions and sentences to concentration camps. In 2022, Germany ruled that claiming trans people were not targeted by Nazis as denial of Nazi crimes, which is punishable by a prison sentence.
In Indonesia during the 1960s, a Bugis gender identity known as the bissu, faced violent persecution, torture and execution, with sacred ceremonies being banned. Bissu persecution in the Pancasila Republic of Indonesia continues to this day. In 2022, it was declared that these people are close to extinction.
Brazil has experienced the most annual transgender-targeted homicides since 2009. That's 14 years in a row. Many trans homicides go unreported, misreported or uninvestigated. The methods of murder are becoming increasingly more violent and organized. Transphobia continues to run rampant in Brazil due to the lack of legal protections and encouragement from politicians.
The one stage of genocide that the United States has not yet reached, like these other 3 countries, is execution. Do not let it get to that stage.
Anti-trans legislation is not about protecting women, children, etc. Its sole purpose is to silence and control, leading to the erasure of trans identities. The longer this continues the easier it is for transphobes to spread their harmful ideology and get away with it. I am privileged to have the opportunity to live in Canada, but in recent years even I have experienced and witnessed increasing numbers of transphobic incidents. Although not violent, the ideology is there. Hate spreads like a plague.
Be vigilant when following the news and make some noise about this with your own state officials. Even if you aren't American, label it like the genocide it is. Don't be silent about this. I've listed two resources below that I think will be helpful next steps once you finish reading this post. Feel free to also share your own resources in reblogs! Thank you!
***** About me: I am a trans and queer individual with a B.Sc. in Agriculture and International Development. Currently, I am working towards applying for graduate school. Research interests include food security, indigenous peoples, the LGBT community and historical aspects of human rights development.

It is now becoming more and more clear to me as to why the creators of Avatar the last airbender walked away from the live adaptation.
Toning down Sokka's sexism
Tumblr media
Sokka being sexist is as important as Katara fighting against sexism. They are BOTH products of their culture. The makers of the Netflix adaptation forget Sokka was the only boy left to protect his village. He believed it was his duty to protect the weak. When he came across warriors that were women, he felt they knew nothing. Only to be humbled, he’d apologize, and accept he was wrong. He even fell in love with one of them (Suki). Sokka’s sexism came not just from his own trauma and trying to fill his father’s shoes, but also the fact that Water Tribe culture is very strict re: gender roles. This showed that although the Fire Nation were the bad guys each nation still had its own flaws and issues. Plus, by showing a likeable main character overcoming their prejudices, it does a better job teaching people to not be prejudiced than by just having the villains be prejudiced. This plot point is a HUGE focus on Sokka's initial development. He is not just some goofy side kick non bender. He learned that his views were flawed and GREW from it. This issue is still relevant to today and not just back in the early 2000s.
2. “We had to make it a serialized Netflix drama, which meant it couldn’t just be for kids. It had to also appeal to the people who are big fans of Game of Thrones.”
Tumblr media
I'm fed up with the common misconception that making something appealing to adults necessitates it being dark and gritty. It's an oversimplified assumption that overlooks the nuanced maturity already present in the story. This series masterfully incorporated mature themes that resonated with audiences of all ages. From the genocide of the Air Nation to instances of child abuse endured by characters like Zuko, and the exploration of sexism within the Northern Water Tribe, ATLA didn't shy away from addressing complex issues. It also delved into cultural erasure, the horrors of war, the pitfalls of autocratic governance, and the struggles of characters dealing with PTSD, depression, and mental illness. These elements added depth and resonance to the narrative. Pushing for further grimness to cater to a different fanbase would undermine the series' existing richness and maturity.
3. “We decided to make Aang’s narrative drive a little clearer. In the first season of the animated series, he’s kind of going from place to place looking for adventures. He even says, ‘First, we’ve got to go and ride the elephant koi.’ It’s a little looser as befits a cartoon. We needed to make sure that he had that drive from the start. […] We essentially give him this vision of what’s going to happen and he says, ‘I have to get to the Northern Water Tribe to stop this from happening.’ That gives him much more narrative compulsion going forward.”
Tumblr media
Giving Aang this drive right from the start completely changeshis character. A significant aspect of his development in the first season involves transitioning from someone who simply longed for a carefree childhood to one destined to fulfill the role of the Avatar. Remember, he's just 12 years old. Aang's sense of being overwhelmed by the weight of his Avatar duties is precisely why he fled and ultimately became trapped in ice. He wasn't eager to embrace his Avatar status, and that reluctance doesn't vanish overnight. He's a child burdened with the unimaginable responsibility of saving the world and stopping an entire nation. That essence of childhood doesn't evaporate with acceptance of his fate; it remained a fundamental aspect of his character arc across all three seasons. Maintaining his childlike innocence while navigating such weighty responsibilities is central to Aang's appeal and adds depth to his character. Moreover, the numerous detours the "gaang" takes contribute significantly to world-building, a vital element that imbued the original series with its charm. Will the remake ignore all of this???
In today's media landscape, there's a growing tendency to portray main characters as almost too flawless. While it's important to have protagonists that viewers can connect with and support, that doesn't mean they should be devoid of any imperfections. Flaws are what lend characters their humanity and depth, providing them with the opportunity to evolve and improve as the narrative unfolds. When a character begins the story with flawless beliefs and actions, it leaves little room for growth, resulting in a stagnant character arc.
Tumblr media
I'm really concerned about how Zuko's and Azula's character development will be handled in the remake. They're both quite flawed characters, especially Azula. She was portrayed as being evil, yet also struggling with mental health issues. It's important to recognize that both aspects can coexist, and one doesn't excuse the other. This complexity was depicted well in the show's final season. I hope they won't simplify or remove these traits in the remake.
And what's next? Will they remove the beloved cabbage man too?

5 ask game: au where Aizawa is all might's secret love child
Kitten said the sentence "did someone try to baby trap the number one hero" a couple days ago in a different context but I can't stop thinking about it here.
1- baby trap! Shouta's parent wants their child support money, or else the scandal will get out. Honestly, it puts Toshi off with a worry that the baby is only being used as a meal ticket, and so he sends more gifts and visits as much as his twenty hours of hero work a day allow. Part of him wants to take Shouta, or place him somewhere else, but then news would get out and AfO would know, which is the worst case scenario.
2- still, things do get better- with financial security, Shouta's parent treats him alright. It helps he is a quiet child and doesn't cry much. His budding dream of being a hero is supported, the parent laughing that it's only natural, and on a rare visit from his father the man smiles and says he'll do well. Shouta's classmates are far less sure, Erasure just a weak little quirk, but Shouta doesn't bother his parents by telling them that.
3- with all the money, Shouta grows up almost spoiled, expensive clothes he doesn't care about and a household staff. There's one person on it not paid by his parent, though he doesn't know it- a guard his father hired to get Shouta out and to Might Tower if anything goes wrong. Other than the parents, the guard is the only one to know the identity of the boy's father. When Shouta asks as a teenager, having pieced it together, the guard just says he's paid to not answer that, actually.
4- after graduation, Shouta moves out. He can't cook or clean, but he doesn't care. Not at home, the rare visits from his father stop. They don't call. He gets texts, sometimes, but doesn't speak to him for years, until he gets an invitation to grab coffee, and is shocked to see the thin man waiting for him. They are at the shop for hours, talking more than they have perhaps ever. Then they don't talk for six months, when the irregular texts continue.
5- the next meeting is awkward. ("You didn't tell me you worked at UA." / "You didn't tell me you were going to start teaching either.") but absolutely nothing can top the embarrassment of the next conversation after the entrance exam: "old man, did you get baby trapped again?"

Papyrus week! April 16 – April 22
Tumblr media
(ID: Image of one of Undertale’s official stickers. Papyrus is smiling and happily crying, trying to dry off his tears with a tissue. There are letters above him that read, in all caps, “You’re nice!! You’re too nice!!”  / end ID)
Greetings! This is the first time I ever prepare an event, so trust me I will not be any good at it, but I really love Papyrus and I’ve always wanted to participate in a week appreciation about him, so I might as well make one myself!
The tag for this event will be #papyrusweek2023 and it will start on April 16 and end on April 22
Read more for all the information:
 Rules:
-This event is for Undertale Papyrus, you can include your own version of Deltarune Papyrus too, but I would prefer the focus wasn't on AUs. However, Papyrus redesigns or human versions of the character are the exception, absolutely post these if you want!
-I want to keep this event sfw, please don't post any suggestive or nsfw content in the papyrus week tag
-Please I ask that you do not draw yellowface Frisk and/or Kris if you include either of them
-No misgendering of characters, not any erasure of characters’s canon identities, no bigotry or hate of any kind
-If you make content about the no mercy run or a couple of neutral runs do tag it properly, it can be upsetting to see for some people
-Of course, inc*st and p*dophilia are not allowed, get out of here. Yes, this includes Frisk and Chara, they are children. This includes Flowey too, there is debate on how old he is but he very clearly behaves like a child, and whether you agree or not I do NOT want to see him being shipped with Papyrus, keep that content out of this event
-While I didn't include a 'ship' day you can absolutely draw ship content, Papyton is allowed here or any other ship (that is normal and doesn’t involve inc*st or p*dophilia. I would prefer to not see selfcest either)
-You can pretty much do anything: drawings, fics, character analyses, videos, music, etc. Have fun!
  ------------------------------------
 Days:
April 16, day 1: Hobbies and Jobs
Let's start with an easy one: Papyrus's interest in puzzles, cooking and the royal guard! Papyrus cares deeply about anything he is interested in, even beyond the examples I just mentioned (being cool online, cars, etc). There is even a possibility for him to be The Monster Ambassador! Lots of things to choose, pick whichever you want!
  April 17, day 2: Battles
You're blue now, that's his attack. Papyrus's fight is really interesting isn't it? He has so many cool attacks, he's the only monster able to not kill you, and he might be incredibly strong...? It's a shame we couldn't see his special blaster attack, but if you want you want, you could show us! Or maybe even more interesting ideas for different Papyrus battles! Or simply appreciate the one we have and listen to Bonetrousle all day
  April 18, day 3: Family
Papyrus has a really cool brother, not as cool as he is but still pretty great. Some say he might also have a mysterious scientist dad/grand father/brother.....? We don't know much but that sounds pretty great too!
  April 19, day 4: Friendship
Papyrus wants to be popular, popular, popular! But perhaps what's most important is the friends that care about you for who you really are. And luckily, Papyrus has found friends like that along the way!
April 20, day 5: Give up giving up
Papyrus is a character that has been very misunderstood in the past, from being reduced to a comic relief to being seen as nothing but an innocent naive character. But Papyrus is a very complex character: he has insecurities, he has flaws, he believes in kindness no matter what, and there are just a lot of things we don't know about him. For some reason we haven't seen him in Deltarune yet...? While we wait for him, let's show everyone how interesting Papyrus is!
April 21, day 6: Free day
Make whatever content you want! Headcanons, fun ideas that you want to share, ships, post-game stuff, etc. Impress Papyrus with your creativity
  April 22, day 7: Papyrus
We have focused on everything that revolves Papyrus, now it's time for Papyrus himself! What do you love about this character? Do you think he is cool? Let's show Papyrus how many fans he really has
  ----------------------------------------
And that’s all! I apologize for being very new at this but I’ll try my best. Most importantly, if you decide to participate even if it’s just for one day, thank you and have fun!

to everyone who follows me, im sorry. after a period of contemplation, i've come to the realization m*x is actually... kinda an awful person. i hope all of you can come to the same conclusion in your own time. you can read my reasons below if you want, i wish you all well <3
he called lewis's braids "cornrows" which is actually really rude. not everyone has had the experience of getting lost in a cornfield, it's experience-of-getting-lost-in-a-cornfield discrimination.
can you seriously be okay with the way he's let his body grow? his tits? his curves? his peach? stop making women and men jealous #misogyny #menogyny
his tits? his curves? his peach? stop making every gender and sex jealous #homosapienogyny
maks what? [email protected] rizz? m-x load? [email protected] dick size? all of the above? be more specific dickhead
three erasure
the stupid mole on his lip keeps staring at me like a beautiful lady and i dont like it. beautiful ladies should not be the accessory of a man's mouth. once again #misogyny
wtf is this constant gay chicken? it's queerbaiting, it's not saving the world. also a chicken bit me once they're evil (like m^x)
he's unbelievably nice to children and even has a child living in his house sometimes. there's only one thing worse than a rapist. a child #fraternizingwiththedevil
he's so seflish. he owns three fucking shirts and a single suit. he gets all that money and for what? to spend on his family? jfc he is sending the clothing industry into recession
finally, he's a murderer! he's so beautiful it makes people cry and that could send them into dehydration which could kill them. he's literally murdering the population! nvm the fact that overpopulation is a big concern.
anyway, these are just the few i could think of. i might share more in due time. i hope you all can understand that this is coming from a place of genuine concern for global welfare xx

A Comprehensive God!Reader Lore Guide
a/n: with the sumeru storyline completed, i finally decided to create a comprehensive list of lore surrounding the god!reader au. if you’re new here to the god!reader cinematic universe, you can take a look at this masterpost of that compiles everything surrounding god!reader. but tldr, the name god!reader is referred to by mortals is ‘amur’ and they are a dendro deity associated with death.
General
Rukkhadevata, Nahida and Amur are all avatars of Irminsul, the only difference being that Rukkhadevata and Nahida are branches of Irminsul while Amur is a root of Irminsul (1)
As an avatar of Irminsul, Rukkhadevata/Nahida and Amur are two sides of the same coin as Life and Death respectively as such they have similar abilities in terms of Dendro and Dreams but with the gnosis and a higher number of followers, the Dendro Archon’s abilities outpace Amur’s
Amur’s epithets include “God of Festivals” and “Soother of the Dead”, Amur is a god in Teyvat associated with death
A friend of Rukkhadevata, King Deshret and the Goddess of Flowers, Amur’s history dates back to the days of Ay-Khanoum which the four friends ruled together with all of them having their own ideas of wisdom and how to pursue it (2)
Historically had the fewest amount of followers among the four gods and in modern day Sumeru, Amur is not a heavily worshipped deity only really worshipped by a few select tribes in the desert and very few individuals in the rainforest (3)
While their abilities have weakened over the years, Amur is still a god and weak by divine standards are substantially different than the standards of humans
Pre-Rukkhadevata’s Erasure from Irminsul
When posing as the mortal [First], Amur drifts back and forth between the desert and forested halves of Sumeru taking up odd jobs ranging from assisting the desert dwellers with their crops to extra dancer for the Zubayr Theatre
As a god worshipped by few and mostly forgotten and disparaged by many, Amur’s standing and abilities are low and any plots to disrupt the Sage’s control over the nation had to be thoughtful and done at the right time (so thanks for that, Traveler & Co.)
Was unable to alter the Akasha Terminal created by Rukkhadevata with their own abilities.
Kept Nahida company in her dreams alongside the Aranara as a companion and playmate throughout the centuries
Post-Rukkhadevata’s Erasure from Irminsul
Like all beings in Teyvat, Amur’s memories of Rukkhadevata are gone and all memories they have of the previous Dendro Archon are believed to be Nahida prior to becoming a young child
The days of Ay-Khanoum are long gone and Amur poses no threat to Nahida whose domain is the whole of Sumeru, they simply act as counsel from time to time and indulges Nahida in stories of the old days she ‘no longer remembers’
Wouldn’t mind traveling and visiting the other nations now that Sumeru is back in the control of its Archon
Relationship with the Seven
Barbatos: ballads and festivals go hand-in-hand, and with mutual respect for each others philosophies, Amur and Barbatos get along pretty well with one another.
Morax: Due to geographical proximity, the two have had their encounters in the past. Amur finds it a relief that he has become a lot more relaxed over the centuries as they couldn’t stand Morax back in the day.
Beezlebul: Doesn’t agree with the methods she took after the death of Baal. But since it is apparent that the Electro Archon is taking steps to change and release her reins on her people, Amur has a tinge more respect for her.
Folcalors: Acknowledges that the present Hydro Archon is an eccentric, but Amur is fond of eccentrics.***
Murata: A feisty deity, Amur has no complaints.***
Tsaritsa: no comment.***
Trivia Notes/In-Depth Explanations
(1) Historically, branches tend to be associated with life and roots are associated with death. In a specific instance, in Ancient Egypt the Tree of Life’s branches were associated with the heavens and abundance while its roots were symbolic of death an. With Sumeru being a nation based on African, South Asian and Middle Easter geographies and mythologies, I figured this would apply to Irminsul avatars as well seeing as in artifact lore Rukkhadevata’s domain was considered to be life.
(2) Amur’s wisdom concerns death and the cycles surrounding itー No one is above death, not even the divine. Whether mortal or god, plant or insect, death comes for all and that is a truth all must come to accept in order to truly live. But acknowledging that even with that knowledge death would still be considered a grim and taboo subject among mortals, Amur’s epithet concerning festivals came to be shortly after.
Life is a grand festival and should be celebrated thoroughly before one’s end. In Amur’s mind, that would surely make the inevitable end easier to digest by mortals.
(3) Between the four deities that once led Sumeru as a collective, Amur has always had the fewest amount of followers and there are few relics in history associated with them that remains. As such, there is a bit of a divide between those in the rainforest and the desert. In the rainforest, Amur is more well-known for the God of Festivals title and in a land of wisdom like Sumeru, folly was spurned by the Sages that remained in control of the nation for 500 years. As such, a god like Amur was often disregarded by many Sages, leading to dwindling numbers in their following.
A small handful of tribes in the desert worship Amur as a god of death, however, but are often at odds with researchers in the forest about their interpretations of Amur as a whole.

So Okay, Massive props to my boyfriend (<3) for pointing this out because I doubt I'd have this thought without him, but now that it's in my head I can't stop thinking about it.
So here is: Why You (The American/Western European Reading This) Don't Understand Griffith, and Maybe Never Will.
TL;DR, details under Cut (v long): Berserk is an allegory for the struggle between Collectivism vs Individualism, which to very Indicidualism-Centered Westerners makes the Collectivist Griffith very unsympathetic.
And obviously, spoilers ahead, as well as a TW for death, violence, and sexual violence.
To put it very directly: Griffith is a Collectivist (someone who is focused on the well-being of the collective above the well-being of one's self or other individuals), whereas Guts is an Individualist (someone who is focused on the well-being of one's self or other individuals above the well-being of the collective).
Griffith has individuals he cares for, wants by his side and wants to see succeed, but in his mind, nothing and no one is above the Collective. That collective is, initially, the Band of Hawks, and then his own Kingdom, and presumably eventually the whole world. Griffith's primary and sole desire is to improve the broken world he grew up in, and there is no one he won't sacrifice for that goal, because he thinks that by achieving it he will be making a safer and happier place for an immesurable amount of people. And by no one, I do mean no one - he puts his own health and well-being on the line as well, physically, mentally, or otherwise. Most notably, the time where he, still as a child, allows a grown man to sleep with him to win his favour. Griffith is not above the collective, he's not above putting himself at stake if it means a safer future for more people. He won't let himself /die/, but that isn't because he cares about his own life more, rather because he thinks he's the only one who can achieve that ideal future, and so his survival is linked to the survival of the collective.
And Guts eventually becomes aware of this. Whether consciously or not, he realizes that however much Griffith may care for him, he would also sacrifice him for the greater good if need be. Guts is not above the collective, and he so desperately wants to be. He wants to be someone who will stand out to Griffith, who will be more important to him than anyone else (and it makes sense - Griffith is the first person that ever actually treated him as an individual, and the knowledge that he's still beneath the collective must be painful), and he thinks that the way to achieve it is to pursue his own individuality. That if he chases his individual growth, he will eventually become bigger than the collective.
Thing is, you can't pursue individual growth in a collective. You can't focus on yourself and the collective at the same time. That's why he wants to leave, and that's why Griffith can't let him - however hard Guts may try, you can't become a big enough person to outweigh the collective. Doing that is tantamount to destroying the collective, and Griffith can't let that happen. He can't let Guts become so big that he'll destroy everything he works so hard for, and so however much he cares about Guts becomes irrelevant. By just trying to become bigger than the collective he is threatening the collective, and so he must be killed.
(Note here that this scene has multiple meanings and this is only one of them. The other and much more obvious meaning is that he is outright in love with Guts, and can't bare to watch him leave. This analysis is NOT trying to argue against this, I am a staunch believer that any non-romantic reading of Berserk is outright factually incorrect. Do NOT use this to justify your weird homophobic erasure).
Here's where the Western part comes in: A lot of western countries, and particularly the U.S., are extremely radically individualist. For a lot of Americans, though of course not for every individual (ha) one, the idea of having to sacrifice yourself (whether literally or metaphorically, in a "Give Up On Your Dreams" sense) is absolutely unacceptable. And so seeing this character who will destroy anyone for the sake of the collective is immediately perceived as a threat to their very way of thinking.
Japan, meanwhile, is extremely radically collectivist. To a detrimental degree. Individuals sacrifice their dreams and health and mental well-being for the sake of making the country thrive. This is why this conflict is so important in the manga.
It shows collectivism at its natural extreme - but it doesn't villanize it. Everywhere that Griffith ends up ruling thrives. People love Griffith, they worship him, they consider him a saviour. Collectivism works, it does make the world better for the whole, objectively this is true even with the individuals left behind. But this doesn't erase the crimes committed, the lives ruined or lost. It doesn't absolve anything - it looks pretty and peaceful on the surface, it's happy and kind as long as you're not in the way of it, and as soon as you are it crushes you underfoot.
Individualism, on the other hand, it portrays as free and brave - but also selfish, lonely. Guts is an asshole to most people he comes across, he's extremely self-serving, and even when he cares about people he's very selective about them. He has to be, he has to draw that distance, because ultimately he HAS to focus on himself first. That's what makes him "greater" than the collective he wants to dismantle. And isn't that evil, too? Sure, it's revenge for what's been done to him and his loved ones, but in exacting it he'll be burning down a peaceful utopia, one which was built on the corpses of the ones he cared for.
There is no easy answer.
Guts is not a hero. He's a selfish loner, one who is free and cares fiercely for those he loves. He's the protagonist, because Japanese people need to see that individualism is an option.
Griffith is not a villain. He's a peacekeeper, a visionary, one who masks and justifies his horrible crimes and cares fiercely for everyone in the world, but never quite enough. He's the antagonist, because Japanese people need to see that collectivism can be taken far too far.
So this idea that Guts = Good and Griffith = Evil is just far, far too narrow a worldview, one affected by very western ideas of morality and justice, and one that, for a work as complex and beautiful and interesting as Berserk is just quite frankly not nuanced enough.

Yet another copypasta my friend made
Once again, this is /j
Reblog if you ship any of these
shipping STRAIGHT WXS SHIPS (emukasa, ruinene, etc) is HOMOPHOBIC!!!!! by shipping straight couples, it means you're EXCLUDING gay people and supporting HOMOPHOBIC media. meaning that all of you STUPID RUINENE AND EMUKASA SHIPPERS ARE HOMOPHOBIC!!!!!!!!!! if anhane and akitoya are canon ships, then whyis this any different? straight couples DON'T exist in lgbtq+ games, meaning that this is EXCLUSION AND HOMOPHOBIA!!! of course, if that isn't enough proof for your SHALLOW, HOMOPHOBIC ASSES. then i shall provide more insightful reasons as to why i am the ONLY correct opinion. you see, emunene and ruikasa are hinted to be CANON SHIPS. you see, in emu's INITAL 3 STARthey are HOLDING HANDS, which is CLEARLY implying romance, and tsukasa's REVIVAL MY DREAM 3 STAR implies that ruikasa is CANON AS WELL because of the way they are looking at eachother. these str@!ght ships have nothing like that AT ALL!!! that's not all though. ALL of the STR@!GHT WXS SHIPS are SIBLING CODED!!!! you heard me. emu and tsukasa CLEARLY act sibling like towards eachother. ESPECIALLY because emu is a small little CHILD and tsukasa is the big BROTHER character. ruinene is coded like this because they GREW UP TOGETHER. meaning they MUST be siblings. nenekasa sang CHILDISH WAR together which is about SIBLINGS. and emurui is PROBLEMATIC for the SAME REASONS as emukasa. speaking of emurui, it is PROSHIP BAIT!!! because rui is MUCH OLDER than emu. one more point is that emukasa have ONE scene together. meaning that it is EMUNENE ERASURE!!!!! i hope you understand my point and have adopted my correct opinion. if you haven't, you are a HORRIBLE person and you should be LOCKED UP FOR IT!!!!

Monster Spotlight: Raktavarna
Tumblr media
CR 2
Lawful Evil Tiny Outsider
Bestiary 3, pg. 229 (image taken from 2e Bestiary 3, pg. 210)
The bottom feeders in rakshasa society, the Raktavarna are the result of a rakshasa failing to achieve any noteworthy deed or failing to accrue any power before their death, causing their reincarnation to become botched. While any rakshasa that’s slain typically finds a new host via usurping an unborn child, a Raktavarna emerges when the evil earthbound spirit is so weak that it cannot overpower a newborn soul, and so it must overtake an unborn animal instead, typically a snake. If they are slain in this state the spirit is forever destroyed, so many Raktavarna are eager to offer their services to greater powers in the hopes of protecting themselves, if only until they can secure enough might to regain some of their former glory.
A Raktavarna can bond with a master as a standard action, freely able to change its master should it desire... unless, of course, their chosen master is a level 7 or higher Lawful Evil caster with Improved Familiar, which permanently binds the weakened Outsider to the service of the mage until their eventual death, at which point they assimilate a portion of their former master’s power and glory. The bond isn’t entirely one-sided, though; Raktavarna have a lot to offer their masters to assure they’re worthy of being kept around. They can serve as their Master’s Eyes, their master able to share the tiny spirits senses so long as they concentrate, including being able to utilize the Outsiders constant Detect Magic and darkvision. This ability works across any distance, even planar, and it goes hand-in-hand with the rest of the rakshasas kit to make them very effective spies.
At will, Raktavarna can assume the form of a tiny handheld object, such as a lantern, a small weapon, a statuette, a picture, mirror, or even a gemstone or other valuable piece of treasure. While taking any action snaps it out of its disguise, it can otherwise maintain its chosen shape indefinitely, giving it the unique ability to be passed from fool to fool without anyone realizing the truth behind the treasure they hold... and all the while, the raksasha and its master learn what they can about their potential targets. While actions break the disguise, the Raktavarna can still use free actions and constant abilities without worry. Thus, it can still use Detect Magic and Detect Thoughts, both of which it has constantly, and freely eavesdrop on any conversation via their constant Comprehend Languages.
Though they can’t fly, they can still climb and swim at 20ft a round, making them decently mobile pairs of eyes when needed. Their effectiveness at being spies rivals even the invisible, flighty Imps, and they’re one of the few familiars that justifies using up some of your Spells Known on learning things like Callback and Companion Transportation. The tiny fiends also make it pathetically easy to brush aside potentially suspicious encounters with commoners and low-level folk, able to use Charm Person and Suggestion 1/day each to steer curious eyes away... and, interestingly, they have a potentially very potent tool when keeping their presence hidden.
Their bite damage is so pathetic that it’s got only a 50% chance to deal lethal damage, at 1d4-2, but the damage isn’t important. What is important is the poison within, which deals 1d2 Wisdom damage each round for up to 6 rounds, though it’s cured by 1 save. However, each time a victim takes damage from the poison, they’re immediately subject to a Modify Memory effect that expunges all memory of the rakshasa’s presence within the last minute. This memory erasure is complete and total; all records of the rakshasa are erased or altered to the point they can be dismissed as fleeting daydreams, no matter what may have happened. Even the bite wounds begin to look more like punctures from a stray pin or nail, and the strange questions floating in their mind feel more like intrusive thoughts than anything else.
Though the modification doesn’t protect the master as completely as it does the Outsider itself, there’s still some creative potential in wearing the beast like a scarf or shawl so the masking effect shrouds the master’s face, or only having the rakshasa a speak and ask questions so the words are wiped from the victim’s mind. The poison’s memory wipe remains viable even if it was delivered by something other than the fiend itself; the master may milk the poison from their familiar for use on their own weapons, or the weapons of their allies, causing survivors of the party’s attacks to conveniently forget the shapeshifting fiend exists... and forget why they’re wearing a pretty new medallion as they report what they’ve learned to their superior...
You can read more about them here.

MONSTER RATING: Jean Jacket (Nope)
Tumblr media
Nope (2022) is the third movie from writer and director Jordan Peele, and the inaugural review of this blog because I cannot stop thinking about this movie. It’s a horror movie. It’s a western. It’s about the cruel, dehumanization of spectacle. It’s about the erasure of black voices in Hollywood. It’s about what it means to really see something for what it is. There’s so much to even think about, it’s so dense and laden with ideas that you could probably write a thesis paper about it.
The plot boils down to this: OJ Haywood (Daniel Kaluuya) runs a horse ranch and rental service for film sets out in the Californian desert, with help from his sister Emerald “Em” Haywood (Keke Palmer). After the unusual death of their father (Keith David) by way of a coin falling from the sky and piercing his brain, the ranch is beset by money troubles and OJ is forced to sell many of his horses to the theme park next door, run by former child star Ricky “Jupe” Park (Steven Yeun), who is currently commercializing the tragic massacre of “Gordy’s Home,” in which a frenzied chimpanzee killed two of the cast members and disfigured one of them, for fame and profit.
Things start getting weird when an unidentified flying object - which the Haywoods later name Jean Jacket after Em’s horse - begins appearing around the ranch, abducting their horses and causing all electronic equipment to fail around it. We later discover this UFO is actually a giant, living organism that had been lured into the area by Jupe in hopes of taming it and turning it into an attraction for his theme park. This inevitably gets him, his entire family, and most of the park staff and guests eaten and digested by Jean Jacket.
The Haywoods, along with the eccentric electronic store employee Angel Torres (Brandon Perea) and the film director Antlers Holst (Michael Wincott), begin planning a way to get photographic evidence of this creature so that the nightmare will end and their ranch will be saved from money troubles.
That plot synopsis covers the jist of what occurs but, in all honesty, feels like it only scratches the surface of what is really occurring. Take the Gordy’s Home incident for example, what I would consider one of the thematic throughlines of the entire film. So thematically central, in fact, that the movie starts on the scene of a bloodied chimpanzee among the corpses of its co-stars. Actually, the movie starts with a Bible quote, Nahum 3:6 - “I will cast abominable filth upon you, make you vile, and make you a spectacle,” which I feel sums up one of its major themes and ties back again to the massacre; the inherent dehumanization of spectacle.
Jupe, at that point a child actor, is the only actor that manages to survive unscathed from the incident. When we first get introduced to Jupe, we see his room filled with memorabilia from the show, as well as numerous references to the massacre which he plays off with jokes. He’s clearly traumatized from the incident, and yet he charges people to come into this room and gawk at what happened. For fame, money, or just to suppress his trauma, he allows himself to become spectacle and lets himself be dehumanized by the people who laugh at his trauma.
And it is this desire for spectacle that gets him killed by Jean Jacket. Jean Jacket is the ultimate unknown, a bewildering, fantastical creature that Jupe knows will wow his audience. However, Jean Jacket refuses to be a spectacle. As OJ learns, the thing that most enrages the flying saucer is direct eye contact. If you look into it, you will die. It’s ironic, Jean Jacket is the most spectacular creature in this movie, central to so many horrific but extraordinary sights, but no, you cannot look at them. You will not dehumanize this creature. The only time it gets its photo taken, the only time the public finally sees it, is when it dies. It will cast an abominable spectacle upon you, but the moment eyes are set on it, it will die. The same way Gordy was turned into spectacle, both on the show and when it went on a rampage, before being killed by the police. You cannot look directly at it.
I have to go on to rate this monster but you can see what I mean when I say I can’t stop thinking about this movie right? Jean Jacket as a monster represents so many things and if I went into each and every thing the review would be ten pages long. I insist, watch this movie, you won’t regret it.
- MONSTER RATING - JEAN JACKET -
Tumblr media
CREEPINESS: 9/10 - Genuinely, it is rare for a movie to get me this fucking tense while watching it. So many things about Jean Jacket just elicit pure fight-or-flight instinct from me as it depicts some of the most horrifyingly ingenious ways to create a terrifying monster.
Where to begin? The fact that we constantly hear it screaming, and that we later find out that the screaming is not actually coming from it but from the people trapped inside begging to be released? The fact that it’s the size of several school buses, a kaiju in its own right, but travels completely silently, hiding itself behind clouds? The way its disruptive electromagnetic field shuts down all electronic equipment, plunging the area into an extremely tense silence, only to be broken by its echoing clicks and moans?
Jean Jacket makes you feel unsafe. The movie effectively conveys how this creature is a predator, silently stalking behind clouds so that it can pounce on you the moment you’re disarmed. The vore scene, which I will discuss later, drills into your head the mortifying fate which is set out for you the moment you are captured - you will be eaten, and digested alive. Jean Jacket reduces you to prey; insignificant prey, like a mouse completely unaware of the eagle that has already set its sights on it a mile in the sky. You were already dead the moment you stepped into its territory.
I’ve never felt more terrified for the fate of the characters, I nearly screamed when Angel was almost consumed by Jean Jacket. Jordan and the animation team behind Jean Jacket deserve phenomenal praise, this is by far one of the more horrifying movie monsters ever thought up. I’ve seen posts discuss how, after seeing the movie, they’re suddenly afraid to stand underneath the sky. Do you understand how terrifying something has to be in order to make someone scared of the fucking sky? What a wonderful monster, I love it to bits.
WETNESS: 8/10 - We need to talk about the vore scene. The brief thirty second moment in which we see all the park attendees travel through Jean Jacket’s digestive system. The claustrophobic space in which we see the innocent park goers - men, women, and children all - become trapped inside its intestines as its guts pulsate, sending them further and further inside. Wailing, crying, retching and vomiting echo throughout as Jupe’s wife bumps up against the viscous, partially digested remains of a horse, and screams. None of these people make it out alive, they die in one of the cruelest ways imaginable.
I need you to understand something: I’ve always said that being digested would be the most horrifying way to die. Trapped inside this dark, fleshy pocket with absolutely no means of escape, no way to survive. To be slowly eaten away painfully by digestive enzymes as you scream in futility, knowing that you will die this way. This scene warped my face into sheer abject terror and it is absolutely fucking killer. The phenomenal sound design comes out in full force again as you hear every squelch and throbbing of Jean Jacket’s intestines, and the horrified screams of all the park attendees. You can practically feel yourself getting drenched in foul smelling intestinal fluid and stomach acid; the stench of vomit and rotting partially-digested flesh violating your nostrils.
Let’s not forget the scene in which Jean Jacket torments the Haywood ranch by vomiting the hundreds of gallons of park goer blood all over the house. You can see it traveling down the window panes, this viscous, almost congealed red goop of viscera and intestinal bile. These scenes are one of many that made the movie, and this goes without saying: extremely wet! We’re just a little ways away from perfect wetness as I do not believe the exterior of Jean Jacket is all that wet, in fact I would think it would be not too dissimilar from shark’s skin - coarse and rough, perhaps a bit rubbery. But make no mistake - when Jean Jacket eats you, you will know wetness.
DATEABILITY: 2/10 - Listen, I could talk about the insane head Jean Jacket could give you, I am painfully aware of the powerful suction force behind that mouth. I am also aware of how gorgeous its final form is, its dress could make anyone at the Met Gala jealous. Good for a one night stand but I’m here to talk about its compatibility as a romantic partner, and I doubt the relationship could go far with most people.
Let’s talk about the biggest deal breaker: the lack of eye contact. Sure, this is not an insurmountable hurdle, I’m sure the charismatic among you could woo a monster without making eye contact. However, responding to eye contact with horrific consumption and digestion feels like taking things a little too far. Jean Jacket has a lot of boundaries that need to be respected, and you should be ready for the consequences should you break them even once. To some, that’s already way too much baggage to deal with, but let’s say you do successfully manage to get with this flying cephalopod, what then?
I hope you like sitting and waiting, because this creature is an ambush predator, and spends most of its free time hiding inside a cloud digesting its food. Hobbies, interests? Throw them out the window, the only thing Jean Jacket needs in its life is a horse to eat. You might feel a lot of distance between you and the UFO, not only does it communicate very infrequently, but you might feel left behind when it travels into the upper atmosphere to hunt an exploitative theme park owner. Let’s just say that a relationship with this monster would not be a very rewarding one, and as beautiful as this beast is, I would suggest finding someone that doesn’t put so much distance between you two.

Pumpkin Pitch Event: Sunset Volume 1: Sunrise
Tumblr media
Cover art by my co-writer @touloserlautrec
A huge thanks to @writeblrgarden for putting this event on! I've been loving seeing all the awesome pitches!
Joey sees the history of everything and everyone he touches as translucent blue ghosts acting out the past all around him. And this includes his own past, which is how Joey knows he wasn't born, he was made. Made and thrown away.
What he does doesn't know is that the people who made him, SolCorp, are actively working to find him and bring him "home." Neither party has any idea how much that will change them both forever.
Sunset is slow-burn serial of building tensions with a queer ensemble cast of people with unique superhuman powers that make their lives harder more than anything. If you love slow-burn romance, slow-burn action, intrigue, and a winding web of storylines, then stick around.
It's told in three arcs (Sunrise, High Noon, and Sunset) through a series of storylines that seem unconnected until they collide and collide with ramping action and conflict.
After over a decade of working on this WIP, Sunset is live now for Patrons and then one week later on Wattpad & AO3. My co-writer is creating "issue covers" for each installment like the one above and I'm super excited about that.
Details Genre: Slow-burn 18+ science-fantasy Format: serial release POV: third person, multiple POV Cast: Queer ensemble cast Stage: - Volume 1: Sunrise = complete. 116k words/250 pages Volume 2: High Noon = in beta. 307k words/683 pages Volume 3: Sunset = drafting. Currently 995 pages
Please comment or DM for taglist +/-
A sneak-peek of the first page of Sunset can be found here but here's another little snippet from the first issue:
Marek leaned over farther. “Have you heard anything?” “Like what?” Marek shrugged. “Has it definitely happened yet?” Louis shook his head, mouth tight. “No, I don’t think so.” “How will we know? I doubt there will be an announcement or something.” Marek couldn’t imagine getting a memo just letting them know Neptune had carried out a death sentence. Louis heaved an annoyed sigh and tilted his head conspiratorially. “We won’t be told formally, he’s an Icarus after all, but it’ll get around.” It was odd to hear a department head referred to as an Icarus, the name Sol gave to its agents who committed crimes against the company. Once you were dubbed Icarus, your name was taken from you, replaced with a number until you’d either been considered redeemed or… well, the former Venus was a prime example of what happened if the transgression was bad enough to warrant erasure. Your name would never be spoken again. “How did he get caught after so long?” he asked. “His Second--” “Enough of that,” Nancy’s voice interrupted. They looked up. The others had settled in and gone quiet. “Sorry, ma’am,” Marek said, switching to formalities in a setting like this. “You know I’m easily distracted.” Well, he could only be so formal. Nancy scowled. “No one’s fooled by your pretend incompetence.” “Maybe if you didn’t tell everyone...”
Content Warning List
Mind control/telepathy
Violence/gore
Guns/weapons
Death
Substance use/misuse (prescription and recreational)
Off-screen child death
Mention of off-screen child abuse and the concept of CSA (specifically talking about how CSA did not happen)
Mention of monsters
Nudity
Religion
Medical procedures
Patriarchy B.S. and railing against it
Questionable-to-problematic relationship dynamics (eventually)
I would be remiss if I didn't note that these are the warnings for Arc 1 but Sunset is a slow burn and it starts slow so please note that these themes will only intensify. Some CW for future arcs include explicit sexual content, monster violence/gore, homophobia, threat of sexual assault, and confinement.

If the ask game is still going, how about an au where Aizawa is actually a time traveling Eri who is trying to prevent the current chapters of the manga from happening?
Absolutely fascinated by the implications of this. "girls who become their fathers" to a new level.
1- Eri lives in a small cabin in the woods with her adopted father. Sometimes, she gets visitors. Mizushima makes sure they have clean water delivered. Tenya sometimes brings people to her to heal. Yamada brings news around to the encampments of survivors. But most days it's quiet. Eri has clothes, but as she gets older she finds she really doesn't like the sweet dresses picked by the nurses. They make her feel like a doll. The bright fun clothes her father got her, for a show that doesn't play anymore, is alright. Comfy. But so are the plain dark hand me downs. The boys clothes. Shouta cuts her hair over the sink.
2- Most days are quiet, calm. Shouta braids their hair, reads them books, tries to cook. But some days, the quiet is not calm. It is plans, whispered back and forth. Shouta them more than the others, the child knows. Rational deception. It would make Deku sad. But Deku isn't here anymore, he's sleeping and won't wake up, like their grandfather won't. But there a plan.
3- And then it's time for the plan. He's thirteen. He leaves the cabin with Shouta for the last time. They go to the place with the machine, and the child gets a shot. Momo says that he'll be able to handle a second quirk, abilities carefully copied from samples from Shouta, Deku, and Monoma. The child's eyes begin to burn. Shouta presses a bottle of eye drops into his hand and a brief kiss to his forehead, on the other side of the tall curving horn. The child will wear it down to a nub as he powers the machine far enough, and crashes to the floor of Nedzu's office over two decades earlier.
4- The boy gives Nedzu some answers, and lets him puzzle out the others. Nedzu, in return, gives him documents. Officially, he's now Aizawa Shouta. He leaves, and will return later as a UA student determined to focus on preventing a full scale collapse of society as they know it. The messy hair hides the nub of his horn when it's down, and the movement of floating up around it usually covers it then too, but he's careful to use Rewind enough to keep it low and avoid detection. It's absolutely necessary to keep AfO from discovering his quirk in this time- he knows that is part of why his father cut off his own leg and let it go, because the other way to negate the effect of the bullet would have revealed the second quirk hiding behind Erasure, which is desired enough. The cats around his apartment are very healthy, and he secretly thinks it very amusing to watch the younger versions of the teachers he knows. But Shirakumo is different, totally new. He reminds him of Deku and Lemillion both, and he's suddenly dragged into friendship not just with Shirakumo, but the others too.
5- Back in the left-behind-future, Yamada mutters that the kid looked just like...
"Cuz he is." The 38-year-old Aizawa admits. "But it's not a stable loop. Every time, things go better. We'll get it right, eventually."
Yamada closes his eyes.
"You never tell me?"
"I don't know, only that I didn't. He might."
Yaoyorozu looks over from where she's memorizing the formulas before they destroy the lab.
"What is it?" She asks.
"Nothing. Is it safe to move Midoriya yet?"
"Yes. Iida's in charge of that. I... We'll wake him up, soon."
Aizawa hums, and looks over to Yamada. He hopes they can wake him up, one day. And he hopes one day, the child will tell his friends the truth.

Intersex-Exclusive Terminology Masterlist
This is heavily inspired by the masterlist by intersexfairy; however, it has not been updated in a while and has quite a few broken links as well as possibly questionable sources - I have nothing against him (he/ze/they) at all!
Part 1 of 2 posts. Next post will be about gender identities of intersex individuals, because neither do all exhibit difficulties regarding gender nor do all identify as LGBT due to their conditions and prefer to be excluded. As a result, please do not tag with LGBT or MOGAI as this post is not inherently tied to these two communities. Thank you <3
General Terminology:
Intersex (adj.) / Intersexness/Intersexuality (n.) / IS (abbr.) - Intersex is an umbrella term for differences in sex traits or reproductive anatomy. [source] It is common knowledge that the term "intersex" stems from them being "between" the sex binaries - female and male. Differences in Sex Development (n.) / DSD (abbr.) - A common medical term for intersex traits. Intersex people frown upon the usage of "Disorder" rather than "Differences" because it supports the hypothesis that we are to be "fixed" or "cured." [source] Variations in Sex Characteristics (n.) / VSC (abbr.) - See DSD. Variations is used as a term to label the cause of someone's intersex condition. They are listed as variants of the human condition, rather than being inherently disordered. [list of variations] [source] Intersex, Sex, and/or Gender Diverse (n. / adj.) - A term that is widely frowned upon by the intersex community due to not only its redundancy, but also how it feels like an attempt at erasure of the word "intersex" in itself. [source]
Dyadic (adj.) / Dyad (n.) - An umbrella term for people whose sex characteristics fit within the normative sex binaries - female and male. There is no direct source of where this term was first used. It is the most commonly used term, but is frowned upon by some communities due to suggesting the strictness of the sex binaries. Perisex (adj.) - See Dyadic. Coined by tumblr user actuallyintersex (dating prior to November 2014) due to the possible implifications that the usage of "dyadic" can have in terms of sex binaries. The original post has since been deleted, and the blog can be searched regarding the controversy of this term. [source] "Peri" is used rather than dyad because it means "around," as dyads may not fit directly within the normative sex binaries. It should also be noted that "peri" within medical terminology is used as the "outer layer," of things, such as the pericardium. Endosex (adj.) - See Dyadic. [source] *It should be noted that none of these three terms are more accepted/acceptable than the other, and all are used.
[TW - Intersexism] Intersexism / Interphobia (n.) - The discrimination or prejudice faced by intersex individuals. Intersexism is more commonly used. Dyadism (n.) - The concept that being dyadic is the norm of society, and inherently implies that being intersex is unnatural and intersex people are need of being "cured."
Medical Terminology:
[TW - Intersexism] Intersex Genital Mutilation (n.) / IGM (abbr.) - Non-lifesaving procedures used to alter natural variations in genital appearance. It is connected with the concept of dyadism and trying to make intersex people appear more "normal." [source] Forced/Coerced Hormone Replacement Therapy (n.) / F/CHRT (abbr.) - Due to lack of terminology, this is separate from "just" HRT due to the fact that intersex children do not consent to receiving this, and may not be life-saving. Often seen frequently alongside IGM, especially as a response to the removal of gonads that produce required hormones. [source] [source]
[TW - Intersexism] Sex Assignment (n.) - The process of legally assigning a child "Male" or "Female" at birth. Some people may be recognized intersex at birth, but will likely be given one of the sex binary for legal purposes. [source] In some places, it is noted that markers other than these may be followed. "X" may also be used as a gender marker, but is not typically used for the legal sex. [source] Assigned Sex At Birth (n.) / ASAB (abbr.) - May also be called Assigned Gender At Birth / AGAB. See Sex Assignment. Coercively Assigned Sex at Birth (n.) / CASAB (abbr.) - A non-exclusive term referring to ASAB. Typically used by transgender individuals, but it is also common within the intersex community. See Sex Assignment and ASAB. Forcibly Assigned Sex at Birth (n.) / FASAB (abbr.) - An intersex-exclusive term referring to CASAB. See Sex Assignment and CASAB. *It should be noted that sometimes people put "I" or "IS" as a prefix in ASAB abbreviations to indicate that they are intersex; i.e., ICAMAB. *It should be noted that some people use "X" (see Sex Assignment), "I" (meaning intersex), or "Unassigned At Birth"/"UAB" when speaking on assignment. I cannot find credible sources for these statements being used legitimately, but that does not exclude their validity as a self-identifier.
