Just Sex
Summary: Melissa is hooking up with the chief at the firehouse, so you decide that you can have your own fun.
WC: ~2.1k
Tumblr media
After the failed relationship and proposal with Gary, Melissa has been going out to bars and staying out late at night. She finds herself in bed with quite a few men and women, and while she’s not thrilled that she’s back to this lifestyle, she’s impressed that she still has what it takes. Getting older did not make it any easier to attract people.
But then one night she sees the fire chief out at the bar, one thing leads to the other, and they’re in a friends with benefits sort of situationship.
Of course, all of this comes out when you’re renewing your CPR training certificate with the Abbott clan, and Barbara has made it quite clear that she’s upset Melissa didn’t tell her of this relationship before.
You had been busy trying to pass your test, but now it’s your partner’s turn to go, and you tune back into the world around you.
“But if I were gonna label it, I would say it’s just sex,” you hear Melissa tell her work wife in a low voice.
You don’t really know what she’s talking about, but you shrug it off. That is, until Janine comes back into the room and asks for the gossip. Barbara of course goes off, claiming that her friend of over fifteen years trusts her no more than a common street stranger. It becomes apparent to you that whatever hookup situation they’re talking about has been going on for a bit of time now. You feel a nasty pit settle in your stomach at that.
That pit only grows when you go out with the crew after the CPR course to celebrate the fact that you all passed. Of course, conversation leads back to Melissa and Jacob both having sexual relations with people from the firehouse.
“Well, I think I blew that one,” Jacob groans as he finishes off his aperol spritz. “But let’s talk about you, Mel Mel.”
“There ain’t nothin’ to talk about,” the redhead waves him off. “It’s just casual sex.”
“Casual sex that’s been going on for how long?” Barbara asks with a raised brow.
Melissa purses her lips as she thinks. “Couple weeks now?”
“A month,” Jacob cuts in. “C’mon, Melissa. When are you just going to admit that you like him?”
“I do not,” she states very clearly. “I just need something to take the edge off for me, and… he does that.”
“How kinky is it?” Ava asks, a smirk on her face.
Jacob opens his mouth, and Melissa very quickly shoves her hand over his mouth. “You say a word, and you’re out on the curb faster than you were out with Zach.”
The man’s eyes widen, and he nods quickly. She pulls her hand away from his mouth, and he breathes a deep sigh in relief.
“I’m not looking for a relationship or nothing… not unless the right person comes along,” the second grade teacher says as she finishes off her beer.
Barb turns to look at her work wife with a curious face. She knows of the little crush that her best friend has on you. Melissa just nods at the kindergarten teacher’s silent question.
But you don’t take it that way, because you have no idea that Melissa has had her eye on you since before she broke it off with Gary. You see it that you have no chance with your favorite coworker at all.
Feeling as though you could burst into tears at any given moment, you quietly excuse yourself from the rest of the outing and head for your apartment.
“What was that?” Melissa furrows a brow and purses her lips as she gazes in the direction that you left.
“I’m sure it was just a long day for her is all,” Janine tries to come up with some sort of logistical reason as to why you would leave early. “I did have a meeting with her before school even started today, so she’s been up for quite some time.”
Everybody seems to accept that reasoning, and they continue on with their night.
The next day, you march yourself into Ava’s office bright and early.
“Girl, what are you doin? I’m tryna get this knot out of my back,” your principal groans as she shuts off her personal back massager.
“I need your help,” you tell her, not even bothering to acknowledge that she isn’t doing her job at all.
“With?” She leans forward just slightly in her chair.
You smile at her. “I know you know a bunch of people… set me up with someone?”
“Oh, girl,” she laughs. “What’s gotten into you? Every other time I’ve asked if you want someone, you decline!”
“Just… thinking I should get myself out there,” you shrug. “You know? If Melissa can do it, so can I.”
Ava’s jaw drops. “So this is about Melissa.”
“What?”
“I knew you had the hots for her!” the principal grins.
“What? Not! I- I just figured, if everyone else can have at it, so can I?”
“Oh, girl,” she laughs in your face. “This ain’t you at all, but I am in full support of it. Give me til the end of the day, and I’ll have someone for you.”
You end up going out with a woman that night that Ava set you with, and you do end up actually liking her… and she’s pretty damn good in bed.
The next morning, you’re practically glowing while you drink your morning coffee in the break room. Julie, the woman that you ended up in bed with last night, is texting you about maybe meeting up again later this week.
And if you weren’t still in love with the redhead that comes in a few seconds later, you would say yes. Instead, you send her a text that says, Maybe. Kinda busy the next couple weeks.
She texts you back a picture… a rather scandalous picture. And you blush when you see it.
“What’s got you all giddy today?” the redhead asks as she leans over. She sees the picture before you can close out of it, and her eyebrows creep up her head.
“Who’s that?”
You shrug. “Just someone Ava set me up with.”
“Ava?” Melissa asks in disbelief. “How long have you been seeing her?”
“Not long,” you tell her. “It’s just sex, really.”
The redhead folds her arms over her chest. “I didn’t think you were like that.”
“I’m not, but I figured I might as well give it a shot,” you say. “Now, I have to head to my room to finish up some of my grading, but I’ll see you later.”
You don’t have any intention to see her later. And you don’t. You pull back from her and her group- although most of them still find their ways to you. It’s mostly just the redheaded second grade teacher that you avoid. And it happens that way for a few more days.
You’re in the break room heating up your lunch when Ava comes in. “Girl! Are you gonna text Julie back or not?”
Melissa makes her way in, and you sigh. “It’s just sex. I’m not looking for a relationship or nothing… not unless the right person comes along,” you unintentionally repeat what the second grade teacher had said out at the bar. The microwave indicates that your food is finished, and you pull it out before heading back down to your classroom for lunch.
You miss the scowl on Melissa’s face, but Ava sure as hell doesn’t.
“Girl, you jealous or something?” the principal leans in with a smirk.
“What would I be jealous of?”
“That someone else is hitting that hot piece of ass,” Ava says like it’s obvious. The second grade teacher rolls her eyes, but Ava continues. “I see the way you look at her. Practically undressing her with your eyes every time she walks into the room.”
Melissa crosses her arms again. “I can’t believe you set her up with someone if you knew I like her.”
“I was hoping it would give you a swift kick in the ass that she was gonna start hoeing it up,” Ava shrugs. “Now admit that you’re jealous before everyone else comes in here.”
“Okay, I’m jealous,” the redhead relents. “But it don’t matter anyway. She isn’t lookin’ for anyone- she just said that.”
“She said, and I quote, ‘I’m not looking for a relationship or nothing… not unless the right person comes along. And girl, you’re that person for her!”
Everyone else starts filing in, and Ava makes it so that she looks impossibly bored, although she is actually quite the opposite. “Okay, I’m leaving this snooze fest.” She heads out, but not before giving Melissa a subtle wink and tap on the wrist. “Get it, girl.”
That day, Melissa sits thoughtfully during her lunch period about what Ava said… maybe she’s right? But she can’t be sure, so after dismissal duty, the fiery second grade teacher heads down to the front office and bursts into the principal’s office.
“Schemmenti,” Ava grins. “You do it yet?”
“I ain’t doin’ nothin’ until I’m positive Y/N has a thing for me too,” Melissa sits down across from the woman. “So tell me what you know.”
Ava spends a long time telling the redhead about the various times she’s caught you checking Melissa and only Melissa out, how you always seem to linger around her during events, how the two of you are almost always partners for things now and how you being around always makes her soft and you absolutely bask in her warmth. She even confesses that you went down to her office to ask her to set you up because of Melissa.
“You convinced yet?” the principal asks after ten minutes.
Melissa bites her lip. “Yeah. Okay.”
“I’d make a move quick though. She said something about potentially seeing Julie today.”
“Isn’t that going to piss off your friend that Y/N might leave her for me?”
“She ain’t my friend,” Ava says as she files her nails. “I made a dating profile for Y/N and picked the first mildly attractive woman I saw.”
“You’re unbelievable sometimes,” the redhead pinches the bridge of her nose.
“Maybe, but ain’t you gonna go get your girl?”
Melissa stands from her chair and thanks the principal before rushing out and down your hallway. She hopes to catch you before you head out for the night. And of course, because you’re a dedicated teacher, you’re still there prepping for tomorrow. She knocks on your doorframe and leans against it.
“Just a sec!” you reply cheerily, not turning around yet. You’re hands deep in soil for the gardening project that your students will be participating in tomorrow.
“I don’t got a second,” Melissa says. You whip around at her voice.
“Hey,” you sigh, all joy in your voice gone.
“Don’t go out with Julie tonight,” the redhead tells you.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“Because I want you to go out with me instead,” she tells you seriously.
“You’re dating the fire chief,” you deadpan.
“I ain’t dating nobody because the only person I want to date is you,” the redhead admits.
That gets you to drop the dirt that is currently in your hands. “What?”
“I told everyone I was just having casual sex and wasn’t looking for a relationship unless the right person came around because… because the only person I would want to be in a relationship is you, and I didn’t think I had a chance.”
“Melissa, are you an idiot?” You ask her. “I’ve shamelessly flirted with you since you broke it off with Gary and practically thrown myself at you in hopes that you would pick me instead of some random hookup.”
She crosses the room, and she’s kissing you before you even know what’s happening. You instinctively kiss her back, and… wow. When you pull away, you quickly wipe the dirt off of your hands before pulling her in close again.
“Don’t go out with Julie tonight,” she pleads again.
“Don’t go out with the fire chief anymore,” you mumble against her lips.
She nods and mutters, “I already called it off. You cancel on Julie, and meet me at my place?”
You end up at Melissa’s house within the hour, and she wines and dines you. And then you end up in her bed seeing stars. Your legs tremble for what feels like forever before she makes her way back up to you.
“And just so you know,” she husks into your ear. “There ain’t nothin’ casual about this. This ain’t just sex.”

Izzy Hands and broken promises
Now that I've had a day to digest the ending, I'm still in the "Izzy should have lived" camp but can better understand why it soured an otherwise great season finale for me.
Keep reading if you like rants about storytelling and queer catharsis from people with a Bachelor degree's worth of overconfidence and strong opinions.
Bar a handful of icks (Zheng Yi Sao getting outsmarted by Ricky, etc), I loved this season and don't see a wealth of problems that would not have been solved by two additional episodes. That said, Izzy's death is one of the things I can't see making any more sense if they had more time to explore his journey because his journey is what problematizes djenk's stated reasoning for his death.
In that one interview (and to be fair, we only have a brief window into his intentions as of right now), djenks positions Izzy as two things, specifically to Ed: a mentor and a father figure. And yeah, mentor figures often die. Their student surpasses them, or acquires a new narrative drive from their mentor's death to continue a quest.
Neither of these things feel like a fit for Izzy and Ed's dynamic nor their respective arcs. Neither does "father figure". Izzy was a love interest. He was described as a love interest. He confessed love to Edward. His mentor relationship was more established with Stede, if anything, who is an unreliable narrator and may well have been lying about Edward claiming that Izzy taught him everything he knows.
The journey that Izzy went on this season was parallel to Ed and Stede but it was with the crew. It's one big queerplatonic love story essentially, of him finding himself as an individual through the support they give and the space they hold for him. Season 2 Izzy Hands is, among other things, a love letter and showcase of the queer community's power to revive hope and purpose.
Izzy has the world's messiest breakup with Ed when they're both at their worst, and his healing begins with the crew of the Revenge. He only interacts with Ed again after bonding with, and growing through, the crew. So yes, it absolutely makes sense that his journey would proceed towards making peace with/saying goodbye to "Blackbeard". But it does not make sense that it would end there, with his death.
Djenks says that they're pirates, and people die. And yeah they do. But in the hand-wavy logic universe of OFMD it feels dismissive to say that about the death of a major character. And odds are, David "Izzy is my favourite character" Jenkins is not dismissive of Izzy, so that leaves tragedy.
My issue with that is, season 2 Izzy is no longer an innately tragic character. If you told me at the end of season 1 that season 2 would end with Izzy dying in Edward's arms telling him to go forth and change and accept love, I would've gone "that's sad but it makes sense." Because it would have, at the time. Season 2 Izzy departed from the trappings (so I thought) of the doomed fate of the bitter old repressed grimdark pirate when he put on the gold-painted wooden hoof and embraced his new role as First Mate of Stede Bonnet's gay floating kindergarten.
His death feels like a betrayal because, in a show that does queer characters Really Well, Izzy's arc feels like a broken promise. To say nothing of the politics of having a character attempt suicide, begin to heal, then say "I want to go" before dying, I wanted Izzy to want to live. It really felt like that was where his character was going, where his character was supposed to go.
Death for a character who is showing all this potential is only a natural ending in a tragedy. It isn't presented as peaceful or to punctuate another character's growth. Season 2 Izzy Hands had ceased to be reliant on and subject to Blackbeard. If anything, he was tied to the crew, who all stood back and felt much more removed from his death than they probably would have been if the show had more time to show their emotional responses. Having him die in Ed's arms, apologising for fueling Ed's destructive tendencies and encouraging him to be himself and accept love, feels like he got shunted off his new arc and back onto the old one. It feels like he went through all of that just to take a last-minute huge step back and re-subjugate himself to this character who does not reciprocate his devotion.
It makes me wonder if his death scene was one of the first ones written, before all that energy was spent giving him a new life and new connections and new, you know, new reason to live.
Anyway, that's how I feel about it. TL;DR Izzy's growth should have included LIVING HIS HARD-WON NEW LIFE and if I ever see djenks i'm going to cross the road and avoid eye contact.

KATSUKI & IZUKU: IT WENT LIKE THAT
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
( ? ) an interview from you (following the events of “it goes like this”)
Tumblr media
you’re not saying you regret coming here, but you regret coming here a little bit.
“so, y/n-san,” kana says with a dangerous sparkle in her eyes. you’re acutely aware of the camera pointed right at you. “onto the next question: who’s your celebrity crush?”
“celebrity crush…? oh, that’s a hard one.” there are excited murmurs from the audience, all speculating. there are whispers about bakugou and izuku’s names; you pointedly ignore them. “i don’t know, really. a tie between mirko and hawks.”
izuku is going to grill you about this later.
“ah, makes sense,” kana nods, accepting your answer without further digging. “they’re the top two every time i ask that question.”
you don’t know how to respond to that, so you opt for a smile and a nod.
kana lights up when she moves on to the next question, and the people seated in rows across you fall hushed in anticipation. she giggles, almost maniacally, bringing the mic closer to her lips.
“you’re really close with deku and dynamight, right?”
you already know where this is going. with practiced ease, you lean against the couch, picking careful words that wouldn’t make villains froth in the mouths for a chance to break your ties. “we’re a trio.”
“right, right!” kana shivers with glee. “so, tell us about your favorite moment with deku and dynamight!”
there are cheers of encouragement and approval, nearly startling you out of your seat had you not been prepared. but any mention of their names when talking to you is always the most prominent font in headlines.
you have a feeling that once you return home, you’ll be bombarded with a series of explosions from katsuki and embarrassed whining from izuku. but that’s a problem for you later—right now, you’re here to please the audience.
“what’s my favorite moment with deku and dynamight?”
Tumblr media
your first and favorite memory with bakugou katsuki was witnessing the start of his crude language. he taught you the phrase ‘eat shit and die’, and you find it funny to say, so you let him teach you.
he found out about it from a world-weary employee walking past and cursing out his phone, frustrated to hell. he wasn’t dressed like a villain, only someone who carried dark eyebags and a dingy, old phone. he shut up pretty quickly upon the sight of katsuki’s sharp red eyes as if expecting him to tattle tale to his mom.
instead, he turned to you and izuku, and recited those words wholeheartedly. he found the horrified looks of grown-ups to be funny.
izuku was confused, and you cackled.
he took this as encouragement because the next day, he’d found thousands of creative ways to spew nonsensical insults strung together loosely with shit and fuck.
“it fucking helps me express my shitty emotions,” five-year-old katsuki said solemnly, right after he tormented izuku with a bunch of it just to stress the poor boy out. izuku had to learn the hard way that eat shit and die is not a phrase of encouragement.
(katsuki’s smile was strangely fond and soft when you kept laughing—not that you’d indulge the audience too much by giving them that.)
Tumblr media
“so dynamight was always like this, huh…” kana murmurs thoughtfully, giggling along with the audience.
“it’s not surprising,” you snort, “he’s fluent in the arts of being a little brat, as his parents say. we still love him for it, don’t we?”
Tumblr media
your first and favorite memory with midoriya izuku was when you met him.
you don’t remember every detail—only bits and pieces that often keep you awake at night, thinking, “if things turned out differently, would i still be here?”. the answer was yes, you would. on a stage someday, maybe, but to miss out on izuku and katsuki sounds like a bland world to live in.
you recall stumbling into the classroom, still hanging on to the fragments of sleep your family rudely interrupted just for something as stupid as kindergarten.
katsuki was surrounded by the class, preening like a proud cat. izuku, on the other hand, was staring right at you with wide, curious eyes that resembled a puppy.
“do you have a quirk?” he asked, and the fun facts about your pet fish you practiced the day beforehand all dissipated instantly.
“i… do,” you murmured, thumbing at the hem of your shirt. “‘s not cool, though. so i don’t want to tell you.”
the strange boy with green curls looked as if you had just told him that all might retired. “i bet that’s not true! every quirk is cool! kacchan has a quirk that makes him boom!”
“...boom?”
he nodded, beaming, hopping up and down. “he can create explosives with his hands by igniting the nitroglycerin he sweats!”
“um, excuse me?” who even is kacchan? and what’s a night-row-glistening?
he continued to peer up at you as if the kacchan person was enough to convince you to reveal your secrets to him.
(you leave this part from the audience, knowing that it would raise suspicion about izuku’s quirk origins, but it went like this:
tired and a little irritated, you ask, “what’s your quirk, huh?”
izuku froze, his expression blanking for a split second before it fell into a hesitant one. “i don’t have one, yet. but i’ll get it soon! and even if i didn’t have a quirk, that wouldn’t stop me from becoming a hero!”)
and so, you focused on the pen in his hand and tried to hide a smirk when his jaw dropped to the floor when it began to float mid-air, followed shortly after by his notebook. (your quirk is nothing special. useful, maybe—especially in your line of work where you’re in charge of handling hero equipment—but nothing special. until now, you never understood why izuku…)
“oi, deku, who’s this?” a blond materialized out of nowhere, staring blankly at a pen and notebook hovering.
“kacchan!” deku practically shrieked, ignoring the grunt of christ from his best friend. “kacchan, look! this quirk is so cool, isn’t it?”
you felt your face warm at the praise, your poor heart racing. “it’s really nothing.”
kacchan eyed your expression, quirked a brow at izuku’s, then shrugged. “‘s pretty cool, yeah.”
“your quirk is like my mom’s! she can pull my toys towards her, but you can do it a bajillion more times!” deku squealed. “can i please be your friend? please? kacchan doesn’t bite, and i promise i’ll only ask three questions a day!”
your fate was sealed to both of them the moment you said yes. not that you were complaining.
Tumblr media
“ah, y/n!” izuku all but scrambles to the door when you open it, his smile taking up most of his face. “you’re home!”
“i’m home,” you agree, grinning. izuku reaches for your bag, and you let him take it as you wriggle out of your shoes. “did i miss dinner?”
“yeah, it’s fucking cold now,” katsuki sneers as he appears from the kitchen. “go shower, i can smell you from here.” still, he does not complain when izuku tosses him your bag; instead, he places it gently on the couch.
“we watched your interview,” izuku says, gently pushing you towards the dining table despite katsuki’s chiding. “you did well! i told you they’d love you.”
“now,” katsuki says as soon as you sit down, “tell us what happened.”
“what…? you said you already watched it.”
“yeah, but, i like it better hearing it from you,” katsuki says, like it should be the most obvious thing in the world. “because it’s funnier,” he clarifies, glaring, “stop laughing, deku.”
Tumblr media

ASTRONOMY.
Jenna Ortega x reader
summary: as much as you loved Jenna, you noticed that it was time to let go.
WARNINGS! angst with no part 2, mentions of abusive parents, angst, angst, angst, gut wrenching angst.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jenna.
Oh Jenna, your first and only love.
You met Jenna in kindergarten, you were simply in love with everything about her, her beautiful eyes, freckles, that bright smile, her bubbly but quiet personality.
Everything about Jenna was like a whole universe, the prettiest universe that were created.
Jenna were your first, first friend, first best friend, first love, first heartbreak.
Jenna knew about your problems with your parents, how your father ran away in the first opportunity, how your mother drowned herself on alcohol and you had to listen to every shit she threw at your face.
But she was there, Jenna was right there with you, she always were, she was your star, your only star.
You grew up together and noticed the love that bloomed in your hearts together.
In your beautiful 16, you asked Jenna to be your girlfriend, she happily accepted. Your relationship were from another world, no one have ever seen such pure and young love, you always looked at Jenna with those lovingly eyes, she was your whole world.
It was pure astronomy.
You were always with Jenna, you knew how hard would be after she got her roles, but you two found your ways to make it work.
Until this year.
The year Jenna blew up, you loved to see your favorite person getting the recognition she deserved, you always called her to tell how proud you was.
The thing is, Jenna never called you back.
No.
Jenna sent little messages like "I'm busy, sorry love".
You accepted it, it was truly understandable, but you missed her.
You missed your girl, you missed everything about her, you missed her.
With time, you were starting to grow tired of her actions, you would stay up for hours until she even sent you a simple "hi".
Your love was dying, you knew it, but it was so painfully slowly that you refused to let it die, no, not yet. Not with her.
But Jenna were starting to be only a stranger that you once knew.
You missed your Jenna, your girl.
"— We're in the richest part of the town- you giggled and hugged Jenna's waist, she smiled kissing your lips.
The moon shining in your figures, just like a beautiful movie, you two moved around in such an admiring way that you were sure that the world was applauding you two.
— They're too good for us- she joked and you kissed her again."
You threw your last bag in the car and sighed, she wasn't coming anyways.
You were wrong though, it was the day that you decided to go back to your old apartment and leave Jenna's place, you sent her a message that you wanted to talk face to face but she left you on read.
When you closed the door, a black expensive car stopped in front of her house, you looked up.
Jenna left the car and her smile disappeared when she looked at you.
— Y/N?- she whispered and you smiled gently.
— Hey Jen- you whispered and she looked between you and the bags.
— What... wait, no!- she panicked and walked to you quickly.
— Jen...- you whispered but she desperately took your hands.
— No! Look, I know that I was a pure asshole with you those last months, but I promise, I promise you! I promise that I'll try to be more present! I'll even... I don't know, you can travel with me!- your heart broke with her panic.
— Jenna, look at me love- you whispered and took her face, she looked into your eyes in pure confusion and sadness- You can't force stars to align when they've already died- you said and she shook her head.
Looking at her, you hoped to see your beautiful girl, your girl, your everything, you hoped to fall back in love with her again, but no, you only saw a stranger.
— Don't say that, don't... distance, distance bring fondness right?- she asked and you kissed her forehead, tears starting to prick in your eyes.
— Not with us baby, not with us- you whispered and she looked at you, she wanted to hold you again.
In all honesty, Jenna wanted to go back in time and call you back, reply your goodnight and good morning messages, she wanted to do it all over again, but do the right thing. She wished that she never left you.
— We've traveled seas, we've ridden the stars, we saw everything from Saturn to Mars Jen- you said and she held your hand in her cheek, she didn't wanted to lose it- But it's time to go- Jenna's eyes watered, she hated that feeling.
— No...- she whispered and you smiled at her, tears running down your cheek, God, she hated every second of that day.
— You own my heart Jenna, you truly do, but we're astronomy, we're two worlds apart- you said.
— Young love never lasts...- Jenna said, her heart breaking to every word that left her mouth, you nodded and hugged her tightly.
She broke in your embrace, wanting to hold you forever, she cursed heavens and herself, how could she break you like that? The person that made her saw stars, the only person who could make her feel like a whole star.
— I'm sorry- she whispered and you sighed.
— The only mistake we made was not running earlier- you said and she nodded.
— We're astronomy right?- she asked.
— We're astronomy- you said.
You two stayed in that embrace for hours if you could, but the love between you two were already dead.

one thing I hate, and when I say I hate, I mean that I despise with all my fucking being, is that Ohba glossed over some important events that should've affected the characters in a much more meaningful way. you mean to tell me that L died, the greatest detective in the world, the person they spent 307 days with, almost day and night together, and the only one who showed actual sadness is Soichiro? and that's it? not even a tear from Matsuda? I don't believe it. Matsuda would cry if a bug died. There's no way he was only scared for his life, to the point that he was willing not to continue the case. I just don't believe it. Even Aizawa. He would not cry, but he would show how fucking pissed he is that Kira killed L. They were too calm. Too fucking calm. Soichiro was actually distraught by that, and the others were like, "oh well lol now what do we do, please, Light, save us". shut the hell up. the task force's reactions at L's death were so fucking weird, so fucking shallow, so fucking fake, so fucking uncharacteristic. Aizawa would not just fucking accept that. He pointed out that Rem disappeared when Watari and L died and didn't look into that? it was literally in front of him. he just needed to think: "how do shinigami kill? death note. why did she disappear? what was that sand? could that be shinigami's ashes? we do cremate people, so... but shouldn't it have been there a fire? but if she died, where's her death note? could that just disappear? or did someone take it? who could take it? I mean, I am sure the task force did not... we were all together, but... wait, didn't Light run off without anyone? And he was the one to call us over there...". It was literally there. and he waited 6 fucking years to consider Light kind of suspicious. you are making them dumb on purpose at this point, 'cause that would've literally taken a bit of creativity and some skills they already should posses because they are fucking police officers. and the fact that they let fucking suspect number #1 put his hands on L's computer??? are you okay in the head?? that's like the first rule of any investigation. don't give the suspect unrestricted access to the evidence you have against him or, in this case, all L's work about the kira case. and they did it. they fucking did it. no matter what, no matter how much time passed, he was still a fucking suspect and misa was quite confirmed to be the second kira, so goddamn, just ask yourself some fucking questions. stop acting like passive terminals, you dumb fucks, and do something. you learn to connect dots in kindergarten, do you need me to send you back there?

Yandere Parental and Brotherly Gods and Humans reacting to Child Human Reader being bullied by a slightly older child deity, and no one knew about the bullying, until they all got called to the kindergarten Reader goes to because she got into a fight with child Deity who’s been picking on her for a few months now (Reader gave him a broken nose, black eye and a few bruises, meanwhile she’s mainly unscathed with only a few scratches, her nose slightly bloody and her hair slightly messy)
They discover from Eve, Aphrodite, Parvati, Kali and Durga that Child Deity was bullying Reader because he has a crush on her (Both instantly figured out that Child God has a small crush on Reader, but is to shy/dumb to admit it, and thinks it’s cute, but the men obviously do not)
Who’s ready to fist fight this child? As a way to say ‘Reader is never going to date’, ‘Absolutely not’ or ‘The only way you can date my daughter is if you take her from my cold. dead. corpse’
Basically, all of them are ready to traumatize this child for bullying Reader
-A phone call home from your school was usually never a good thing, the past two calls were because you had gotten sick and needed to be picked up.
-This one however, was different, little five-year-old you, the cutest kindergartener in the world, had gotten into a fight!!!
-Your whole family was quickly at the school, your massive adopted family of humans, valkryies, and gods, many who were immediately demanding to know what had happened and who had put their hands on you.
-However, once they entered the principal’s office, the other child and his parents, a slightly older deity, in the second grade, looks like he got his ass kicked.
-He had a bloody nose, something his mother was trying to stop, a black eye, multiple abrasions, while you only had your hair messed up a bit, a few scratches, and your own bloody nose, something Eve rushed to your side for.
-The other child’s parents went to yell, until they saw themselves facing the most powerful gods in Valhalla, their bark instantly leaving them.
-The principal, a kind but powerful older goddess, explained that you had attacked the other child, after he was picking on you, pulling your hair, taking your things, pushing you down, and after a bit more prying from both you and him, he had been doing it for months now!
-The child was panicking, looking up at the furious Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Odin, Thor, Loki, Buddha, Shiva, Ares, Hermes, Hercules, Brunnhilde, Lu Bu, Adam, Kojiro, Jack, Raiden, Nikola, Qin Shi Huang, and Beelzebub, all glaring darkly at him.
-Your mother figures, Eve, Kali, Durga, Parvati, and Aphrodite were upset as well, but looked more annoyed, rather than murderous.
-Parvati was the one to get the child to tell why he was picking on you, because he thought you were cute and didn’t know how to admit it.
-Aphrodite was the one to step forward after his mother cooed, thinking it was cute, a glare on her face, “It is not cute, to say things like that he picks on her because he has a crush on her will not be tolerated. Y/N and other young girls will learn, if you treat the situation like this, as they should learn to tolerate this kind of abusive treatment! They will grow up learning that if a man hits them, it’s because he likes them!”
-His mother gawked, having not thought about it that way, while the other women were quick to agree while the men were stunned, learning this side of things.
-The boy apologized to you and you accepted it with a bright grin, making his cheeks turn a bit red, and both families were quick to forgive as well, but your parental units gave him and his family a warning, that he better not hurt you again, or else.
-It was two days later when you came home holding a flower, a smile on your face, “Lookie! B/N gave this to me!!”
-The men were quickly up in arms, Nikola holding you close, as the men were all shouting that you were never going to date and never get married.
-You had question marks flying around your head, wondering why they were all so worked up at the moment while Aphrodite was giggling lightly, taking a video as blackmail for your wedding to tease all of the men in your family.

Would you recognize an autistic or ADHD person if you saw one?
What about an autistic or ADHD fictional character?
Many of y'all will say, of course.
And you'll be wrong.
I'm not talking to hatched autistics and ADHDers. We can usually spot others like us and autistic/ADHD coded characters in fiction.
Definition: A 'hatched' autistic or ADHDer is someone who knows they're one or the other or both, AND they understand and accept that pretending to be neurotypical is bad for us.
It actually kills us, so, yeah, bad. The leading causes of death for autistics is unaliving or heart attack from the stress of living in a world that was most certainly not created for us. In some ways, this world is antithetical to us.
We also experience the stress of what's known as 'masking'.
Our average age of death is 36 years old. Think about that for a second. 36. And the rates of unaliving in autistic and ADHD kids is utterly obscene. The suicide watch for parents of autistic kids starts at 8 years old. 8.
(I don't say this for everything, but self-diagnosis is absolutely valid for autism and ADHD. In a world where people can still be institutionalized or lose their kids because of an autism diagnosis--this is fact for Britain and several US states. France is awful for autistics-- self diagnosis must be valid so we can figure ourselves out without endangerment.)
Masking is where a traumatized autistic (and I've also never met or even heard about an untraumatized autistic/ADHDer) will create a, persona, almost, that lets us function in the world.
It's rarely intentional, my youngest son started masking at 4 in pre-kindergarten because he wanted other kids to like him and want to play with him. Even though our home is very supportive of diversity, especially about autism and ADHD, y'all... he was *4*.
Being autistic and/or ADHD is so damned lonely. Especially if you don't know why you're different. So we do our best to adapt. That can cause issues.
Masking isn't meant as a lie. It's survival instinct. Because even though the world absolutely doesn't treat us like we're human beings, we still are. We want to survive and thrive as much as the next hominid. We have all the same needs and desires as any other human.
But what about the rest of all y'all? Can you recognize us?
Last week, a music teacher banned a 6 year old autistic kid from the school concert because 'they would ruin the experience for the other children' this is after making the autistic kid learn and practice the songs for weeks. 6 years old and that kid already has scars from discrimination about a genetic condition he can't help. It's cruel and so damned inhumane. At worst, the kid probably sang off key and maybe fidgetted a bit. But that would 'ruin' the concert. It's not the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, lady, it's an elementary school concert. It's absolutely not worth scarring that poor kid over. It also happened back in 2022, and again in 2017.
People will have seen 'Atypical' or 'The Good Doctor' or, gods forbid, Rainman and think they know what autistic people look like. (You should probably know that the majority of autistics loathe those shows because the rep is so bad.)
But here's the thing.
You can't see autism or ADHD. Not just by looking at us. It's purely a brain wiring difference. People don't even believe me when I tell them I am if they've seen me in person. And I'm professionally diagnosed as both autistic & ADHD.
Sometimes, there are co occurring issues, like intellectual disability, that are confused with autism, but they aren't actually the autism or ADHD part of things.
I'm an autistic and ADHD advocate. I have a consultant option on my Patreon for people who want advice either for themselves or so they do the right thing by their kids. I'm autistic/ADHD, my kids are too. I've been researching and learning about the topic for close to a decade at this point. I truly know what I'm talking about. I understand the different flavours and experiences of these two types of neurodivergency extremely well.
As an aside, while I have you here, ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) is never the right thing. You know how gay conversion therapy is bad? The same person (Ivar Lovass) came up with ABA, and it's meant to do the same thing. To torture people, most often children, into pretending to be what someone else wants them to be. It doesn't support or help the autistic person.
Almost unilaterally, ABA causes a PTSD breakdown of self coming into our 30s. I say almost, but I've never even heard of an autistic person who has been tortured by ABA who hasn't developed severe PTSD.
If you tried to use the methods used in ABA on a dog, you'd be guilty of extreme animal cruelty.
Yet, because it's practiced on human children, it's fiiiiine. Big money lobbying has even made it so that ABA 'therapy' is the only one covered by a lot of insurances.
We can thank Autism $peaks for that. They are a hate group. They fit every bit of the definition of one and then some. (So please don't donate to them at the till. They love to pollute stores like Toys 'R' Us.)
Adult autistics have been speaking out against them forever. But since most autistics (80%) are under or unemployed, we don't have the kind of financial sway we'd need to get rid of them. Yes, this even counts for 'the new ABA'.
You can't save ABA. Putting a 2 year old human child through 40 hours weekly of 'training' so that they can look and act neurotypical is just flat out torture. Making a child 'extremely hungry or thirsty' so that they will do what you want is torture. There's just no other way to slice that apple. It's rotten to the core.
But back to my point.
Recently, someone disagreed with my opinion on a fictional character. I feel the character is autistic/ADHD coded, the other person disagreed.
That's cool. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. And it's fiction, whatever. I'm not mad or upset. (I'm slightly insulted, because if you're not autistic/ADHD, [and a comparison they suggested made me think they definitely weren't] it's definitely not your place to disagree with one of us who says a character is autistic/ADHD coded. It's disrespectful and more than a little ableist. Simply because so many people have the completely wrong idea about both conditions.)
Regardless, the important part for a fictional character is that a person was able to see themselves in the character, to empathize with them. So it's not a big deal.
But it got me thinking about this.
Would most people recognize the subtle signs? They're almost always extremely subtle.
Ever hear of 'resting bitch face'? It's an incredibly common autistic trait because we either emote less or we emote differently than neurotypicals. In our world, it's known as 'flat face effect'. I have it, and I've been harmed many times because it looks like I'm pissed off even when I'm having a good time or I'm just deep in thought. I've got a firey temper, trust me when I say you'll know it when I'm pissed off.
So. You see a character (or even a person) who doesn't emote a lot? Or emotes extremely subtly? Wellll... that's a good clue.
So, X fictional character (or person) has odd or esoteric knowledge or hobbies. That's a good clue.
Are they nerdy or geeky in some way?
Most autistics and many ADHDers experience what's known as hyperfixation on special interests. Ever see someone get so fascinated by a topic or skill or activity that they get lost in it?
Forget to eat or drink?
Learn to do an obscure craft just because they wanted to know how it's done? That person is likely autistic or ADHD or both. It applies to fictional characters too.
Are they stand-offish? Many of us are for various reasons. One is that we're trying to figure out the 'rules' of wherever and whoever we're with.
Why all y'all insist on staring creepily at each others eyeballs is beyond me. I find it either too intimate, painfully so, or just ridiculous.
That quiet character (or person) who warms up slowly? There's a hint.
Another reason we tend to be cool with strangers is that ever present trauma thing. So many autists and ADHDers get to the point in life where we just don't have it in us anymore to keep trying to make social connections. A very common trait of both autism and ADHD is a lack of understanding of neurotypical social rules. And trust me, y'all have them.
Does the character or person fidget? Either subtly or more obviously?
It's called stimming. I had to learn to do it unobtrusively, so I'll suck air through my teeth (my dentist isn't impressed by this), circle my pointer finger around my thumb, tap the pad of each finger on my thumb in a rhythm, count silently to myself... the list is probably endless. I intentionally leave the cuticles on my thumbs rough, because I often rub the forefinger or ring finger of that hand over the rough cuticle as a stim.
Maybe they rotate their ring around a finger?
Play with their hair?
Stimming is something that calms us down and helps us regulate our emotions. (It's also one of the first things ABA robs us of. It's called 'quiet hands'.) It's really bad to deprive an autistic or ADHDer of stimming.
I used to click the button on a pen so much that I banned myself from having clicky pens because of how annoying it can be to others.
There are healthy stims and unhealthy ones. (Head banging is an example of an unhealthy stim.)
So a character or person who is just, always moving somehow? There's a hint. Or they're rhythmically moving a body part? Tapping fingers? Wiggling a foot or leg? Fussing with their clothing? Rocking?
Is the character or person 'a walking encyclopedia'? In other words, do they know a lot of information about either one or two topics or about many topics?
That character (or person) is often stereotyped as being a computer genius who can make any computer work just by looking at it for a few minutes. But it can honestly be any topic or combination of topics. That's another clue.
Many autists are almost hard wired to be painfully honest. Unless we've been traumatized into it, we tend to be shitty liars. I'm, unfortunately, a very good liar. It's not something I choose to do, because I don't want my trauma to change something so innate to me as my honesty. I had to learn to lie to survive. I don't recommend it.
Does the person or character truly believe in things like honour? Justice? Mercy? Peace? (Many neurotypical people will call these things social lies that keep the world working.) I'm talking a bone deep belief in honour etc. Are they a shitty liar?
I think I've blathered enough for now. I want to make it clear that I don't speak for all autistic and ADHD folks. I'm just one person attempting to share some of the more common traits with whoever wants to read about it.
A final thought.
Nothing can make someone autistic or ADHD. It's a genetic condition. Which is why so many parents find out they're autistic or ADHD when their kids are diagnosed. It's not more prevalent now, it's just that more people are learning about the actual parameters of it. Diagnosis is easier now than 50 years ago. It's been around since ancient Egypt and probably evolved as a way to keep the clan safe in prehistoric times.
We often have heightened senses. Sometimes we have what I call 'predator vision' which sounds awful but just means that my gaze is automatically drawn to movement. Our sleep cycles are also commonly very different than a neurotypical's. We probably ended up being people who would take night watch, stare at the stars for hours, or warn people when food has gone off so no one eats it.
I think we evolved right alongside neurotypicals because we're both needed for a successful society.
Many, many of the world's famed thinkers/creators are considered to have likely been autistic/ADHD based on records about them.
These people include:
Leonardo DaVinci
Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni
Nikolai Tesla
Albert Einstein
Thomas Jefferson
Charles Darwin
Emily Dickinson
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
William Butler Yeats
Vincent Van Gogh
Benjamin Franklin
People who are autistic or ADHD these days that you may not expect?
Dan Ackroyd
Darryl Hannah
Anthony Hopkins
Jerry Seinfeld
Eminem
Courtney Love
David Byrne
Wentworth Miller
Satoshi Tajiri (creator of Pokemon)
There are also many, many people who have shown autistic or ADHD traits and haven't confirmed or it's impossible to confirm because they're deceased and we don't have the right records.
It's considered a massive faux pas to assign a diagnosis of anything to a living human being. So everyone living I've listed has in some way confirmed it. There are many, many other people (especially in creative industries or hobbies) I believe are likely one or the other, but I wouldn't label. That's for them to do.
If you enjoyed this or learned something and you can, please consider a tip or becoming a Patron. My work of words is my only income.
Every historical person is just a 'likely' because we'll never actually know. All we can do is point at the exhibited traits via records and say, probably.

Tara Lewis x reader req'd by anon Warnings: language, some slight teasing, pure fluff. Tbh, it is a fcking crime that there isn't more Tara stuff out here, wtf? Send a req here! Sign up for her taglist here!
Tara loved you more than anything in the world, she had from practically the moment she’d met you. You were exactly the opposite of all the darkness that she saw on a regular basis working with the BAU and that was part of what drew her to you originally. You were soft, warm, colourful, her own personal ray of sunshine to come home to after a long dreary day. She knew part of that stemmed from the fact that you taught kindergarten, spending the days with tiny humans, you were always full of laughs, stories full of imagination and your sticker collection was far larger than she’d ever seen before.
She couldn’t help but smile when she’d catch you in moments of still very much being in teacher mode, as if you were talking to tiny humans instead of actual conversations. She’d once overheard you in the kitchen when a pot was boiling over say something along the lines of “oh come on now Mr. milk, that is not very smiley face sticker behaviour of you.” She chuckled but didn’t say anything, she found it endearing and adorable, not something to tease you about. It was just something that made her love you more, made her softer around you, able to finally embrace that side of herself knowing that you loved it as well.
Once the two of you moved in together it was pretty frequent that you’d pack lunches for the both of you to take to work. Tara hadn’t thought much of it, she usually bought lunch or they were on the jet by the time noon hit anyways, but you always brought your own, and made sure your classroom was stocked with extra snacks for kids who got hungry. So it just made sense for you to make double what you were making and pass the bag off to her with a gentle kiss on the way out the door. It started out as just food, though sometimes things were cut into cute shapes, sandwiches without crusts, little animal or frog skewers in the smaller pieces of fruit to use instead of forks.
“Awe, did your mom pack your lunch.” Luke teased with a smug grin one day and Tara simply snorted.
“Nah, you should know this by now, it was your mom.”
It was almost too easy to tease him back, and besides, he walked right into that one and he knew it.
That was when the rumours started that maybe Tara had a secret kid at home that no one knew about, hence why everything was kid accessible. The rumour lasted approximately ten weeks until she was invited out for post work drinks and she said she had somewhere important to be.
“I’m betting girl.” Spencer muttered and Luke laughed.
“Nah, I’ve seen dinosaurs in her lunches.”
“Girls can like dinosaurs too.” Garcia cut in with a huff and Tara raised a brow in their direction.
“This started out with me thinking you were trying to figure out my sexuality but you lost me at dinosaurs.”
“They think you have a kid.” Emily cut in dryly, already knowing the truth and Tara barked out a laugh.
“No, absolutely not. I have to get home because it’s my anniversary.” She shouldered her bag, “with my future wife, because I know you’ll spend another two months speculating that next.”
It was shortly after your wedding that the notes started. You and Tara had thoroughly enjoyed your three week honeymoon off in Italy. Nothing but time for each other, so much wine and more pasta than you could even imagine. While the transition back into work was relatively smooth for yourself, Tara found herself instantly thrown back into the world of darkness and back to back very jarring cases. You knew she was a little off when she came home absolutely defeated, forgoing dinner for a large glass of bourbon and latched onto you like a koala bear for as long as she possibly could before Monday rolled around. She accepted her lunch with a soft smile and a kiss, pausing to steal another one before you sent her on her way.
When she pulled her lunch out a yellow post it fell out of the bag, her brow furrowed when she went to pick it up, wondering if it was a work note she’d gotten stuck in there by accident or the label from someone else’s lunch in the fridge. Instead she found your writing scrawled across the front,
‘I love you so much, you are my sunshine.’ A large sun drawn in the corner with a huge smile and a pair of sunglasses. A couple of sparkly cloud stickers on it as well. She felt her shoulders drop as her entire body relaxed, releasing the tension of being back at work again and the small smile stayed on her cheeks for the rest of the day.
The next day she opened her lunch to find a slightly crushed chocolate chip muffin among her items, a pink post it with ‘You’re my stud muffin.’ Scrawled across it with a winky face and a print of your lipstick on the paper. She laughed silently, shaking her head at the way she could hear it in your voice. Opening the drawer of her desk she added the note to the little basket she had put the first one in, smiling softly down at them.
Two days later and she found an extra container of candy in her lunch, the post it note blocking the label, ‘You are one hot tamale.’ With a wink. She didn’t need to move the note to know what the candies were, but she still slipped it into the small growing pile in her desk drawer.
‘I know it’s cheesy, but I think you’re grate!’ Stuck to the outside of a cheese string. She audible laughed at this one, earning a raised brow from Spencer, but he didn’t say anything.
‘A list of cute things:
-you
-also you
-hey look, you!
-wait, wait, wait
-you!
-you’re cute’
‘Olive you’ with a drawing of two martini glasses complete with extra toothpicks of olives. (and a note on the back ‘seriously, don’t forget about drinks with the Tanners on Thursday’)
‘You are the sugar and spice of my life’
The notes weren’t every day, obviously if a case took her out of town for a week she wasn’t bringing that many packed lunches in one go. And she could tell that you usually did them the day after rough days, days when she needed a little uplifting, that you knew you would make her smile, if not laugh. Some of them were funny, some punny, and some just utterly adorable. It didn’t matter the theme, she saved every single one of them in her desk drawer, not quite able to part with them. And each day that you left a note, she would come with an even warmer smile than she left with, holding you a second longer when she greeted you, murmuring a soft I love you into your skin as she kissed you hello.
‘There is night so we can appreciate day, sorrow so we can appreciate joy, evil so we can appreciate well, you so I can appreciate love’
She felt the warmth blooming through her chest at that one, a little boost of how important she was to you on a day she was doubting herself.
‘The sound of your laughter is food for my spirit.’
‘I love you more than anything in the entire world. You are my rock, my sun, my moon and stars. You are the most snuggly teddy bear I’ve ever had in my bed, and without a doubt my absolute favourite. Can’t wait to see you, because that’s my favourite time of the day.’
It had been a rough couple of days and she almost felt tears building up in her eyes at that one. She quickly tucked it into her desk drawer and shook the feeling off, she had a reputation to uphold at the office after all. However the moment she was home she was sure to make you know just how much she loved you and how much she really did adore the lunch notes, even if you’d never actually talked about them. It was silent cues you took from each other about them, the way she had a little more pep in her step when she got home after you’d sent her one. And that was all you ever needed.
It was a few days later when Luke was looking over something for a case at her desk, Emily across at Spencer’s desk, eyes looking up at the white board trying to figure something out, Garcia perched on the edge of the desk. Luke let out a huff, recapping the highlighter in his hand before tossing it into the trash.
“Tara, you got a highlighter?”
“Yeah, top right.” She gestured to the drawer and turned back to Spencer as the two of them went through the geographical profile. A small chuckle broke out from behind them that she didn’t think anything of, probably some snarky remark from Penelope until she heard the shuffle of paper and Luke’s voice.
“The most snuggly teddy bear I’ve ever had in my bed… this is pure sap.”
“Oh, but she’s got puns too, look at this one.” Emily’s laughter was what broke Tara out of her trance when she finally turned around to see the three of them with the large array of colourful post it notes spread across her desk.
“Oh come on! That is not a highlighter!”
“Yeah, but it’s way more entertaining.” Luke replied with a smirk, reading off another one of the very sappy ones.
“I think it’s endearing.” Spencer, who had left her to join in on the fun chimed in, smiling brightly in her direction, “couples that continually do little things to keep each other’s spirits up are found to be much happier and have much more successful relationships.”
“Aweee, pookie bear.” Luke teased, “that your new code name?”
“I will shoot you right now.” Tara shot him the coldest glare.
“Does she come up with these on her own?” Penelope asked with a smile, “cause they are good!”
“I don’t know.” Tara replied with a shrug, “I’ve never asked her.”
“Are these what you’ve been smiling at in your lunch all the time?” Emily asked with a wild grin, holding up the stud muffin one and Tara let out a huff, rolling her eyes.
“Can we just stop this? Maybe focus on the task at hand?”
“Whatever you want pookie.” Luke made a kissy face in her direction and she hucked a white board marker at him.
It wasn’t that she was particularly embarrassed by it, but she was a little irked by them seeing all of them. Sure, they were all from you and they didn’t technically see how soft she got with you, but the façade was ruined. As much of a bad ass that she was in the field, she knew that nickname wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon and almost instantly started planning her revenge against Luke. Garcia would help her, she knew that.
A couple of days later she was smiling at a pink post it;
‘You are the sun on a cold day, the crunchiest leaf on my walk to work, the first snowflake of the season to catch on my tongue, the first daisy to bloom come springtime. You are the light of my life. You are the small things that make every and each day the absolute best that it can, you are the only thing that can brighten me up no matter what. I love you.’
She pulled open her desk drawer to add it to the basket and her hand stalled in its tracks when she found the basket empty. She groaned, pinching at the bridge of her nose as disappointment surged through her. Despite her best efforts the team had insisted on going through every single note you’d left for her, she must’ve forgotten to put them back into the drawer before leaving for the day, the cleaners probably thought the pile was garbage. Letting out a soft sigh, she placed the new note into the basket, figuring it wouldn’t hurt to start over now.
*
You were in the kitchen when you heard the door open, Tara calling out to you while she clunked around a little more than usual in the entry way.
“Hey!”
“Hey! Hope you’re in the mood for lasagna!” You called back, wiping your hands on a dish towel before padding your way over to the entry way to greet her.
“Baby you really don’t have to slave way over a hot stove for me after you’ve finished a full day of work.”
“Babe, please. I picked up a frozen lasagna and garlic bread on the way home, the oven did all the work.” You laughed, cupping her face in your hands as you popped up on your toes to kiss her softly. When you pulled back you noticed the black frame under her arm, “what’s that? Did you get some kind of award you failed to mention?”
“No.” She laughed, nudging her go bag off her shoulder to its spot on the entry way bench, “the team may have found the collection of post its stashed in my desk.”
Your head tilted in that adorable way that she loved so much, “the lunch notes?”
“Yeah.”
“You kept those?” You practically melted, a happy and somehow dreamy pout on your lips as you gazed up at her with wide eyes and she couldn’t help but fall even more in love with you, her hand stroking your cheek before she leant in to leave a kiss on the tip of your nose.
“Are you kidding me? As if I could ever throw them away! They were the second best part of my day.”
“Second?” You eyed her suspiciously for a moment before a grin broke out on your lips.
“Well the first is always coming home to you.”
“You fuckin’ teddy bear.”
“Yeah, and now the entire team knows it.” She rolled her eyes, “I guess after approximately one hour and forty two minutes of teasing they got scheming, but my money’s on this being Garcia’s idea.” She turned the frame on the table so you could actually see it, “she’s a bit of a sap and thought the notes were super cute, figured they’d be nice to have all together in one place we could actually admire instead of stashed away in my desk drawer.”
“Oh I knew I liked her.” Your fingers reached out, ghosting over the side of the frame, “this is so cute, and so thoughtful.”
“You like it?”
“I love it.” You leant into her side, humming happily when she kissed your temple.
“Where do you think we should put it?”
“Hmm.” You tugged your lip into your mouth, glancing around, “the wall behind the couch is particularly bare.” You turned to her with a warm smile and a gleam in your eye, “then maybe… we should have your team over for drinks next weekend? It’s practically a crime that I’ve only met Emily so far.”
“I’d love that.” Tara smiled brightly at you, cupping your cheek as she leant down to place a tender kiss on your lips, “and I love you.”

In response to me saying “Cruelty and suffering are not requirements to create a strong society. ☺️” , I got these comments: but survival of the fittest and natural selection is☺️. That what life is pookie, you either blend in with society or you be “different” and get eaten alive 😘😘🥰. I used to be bullied when I was younger and for a while up until a few years ago and once I finally “gave in” and tried being normal, it changed my life. I made hella friends and connections who have helped me through life because people will accept you for being normal and when people accept you, they will boost and build you up and have your back. there is a huge difference between bulling and abuse 💀 (This commenter’s page is full of car pics. They have what is considered to be a socially acceptable interest. This is an important little detail in this conversation about “normal.”)
Pro-bullying is a very concerning worldview, because this is how people convince themselves that it’s okay to use violence of any kind on those who are different from you, simply because they are different, not because they did anything bad or hurt anyone. People who believe that “actually, bullying is a Good Thing because it makes us conform, which is Correct. Anyone who does not conform is Bad, and deserves abuse until they finally squash themselves into the mold we’ve decided is Normal.” It’s hard to understand if you’ve got any kind of grasp on empathy, or even if you don’t experience empathy but understand that differences are to be celebrated and that abusing people into hiding these harmless differences is, uh, bad? The only people I see defending bullying as some “necessary corrective action” in society are those who seem to think they turned out well and that life is great, except they really want to hurt other people for being different. Like, they’re thirsty for it. Their jaws chatter for the feeling of a slur between their teeth. They’re salivating at the thought and many can’t hold back, as evidenced by the comments I get on my “hey, bullying comes from insecure people” posts calling me ugly, stupid, weird, saying my hair is bad, my eyebrows are bad, I talk weird, I make weird faces/movements (ableism lol), my gender sucks or whatever, blah, blah. Which is strange to me because: isn’t the basis of so many belief systems, what we were taught in kindergarten is “Hey, we’re all unique and that’s by design. Be yourself! Also be kind, don’t hurt people.”
So… No, sorry. I will never agree with this stance. “Don’t be weird and you won’t get bullied”—All the things I’m labeled “weird” for are completely harmless. I’ll never be normal and that’s okay. How about just be kind to people even if they are different? Me being different isn’t hurting you or anyone else.
What people like this fail to realize is that for many of us, there is no way to ever really “pretend” to be “normal.” We will never fit in, we’ll always stand out in some way, we’ll always be who we are. If the choice is between: use all my energy to hide who I am and still get abused just so I can have fake friendships with shallow and insecure people vs Just let go and be who I am, distance from people who don’t accept me unconditionally, make friends with cool, kind people Uh, I’m gonna go with the healthier, happier option? Wtf?
What you are saying is Good/Correct is to hide anything that is different: disabilities, gender, romantic or sexual orientation, very niche interests (which is a lifeline to ND’s)
Obsessively passionate about video games and comic books? I was “not normal” for this in the 90’s and even 2000’s. Should I have conformed and been interested in, I don’t know, boybands and pencil-thin eyebrows like my peers instead, to avoid their daily torment? Would that have made me “fit” to survive the world, or perhaps is it the bullies who are in the wrong for being horrible little devils to a child who just had different interests? (No, clearly, I was the one in the wrong for daring to exist, huh?)
Sensitive to stimuli? Probably my biggest autistic struggle, compounded by unending chronic pain. So I shouldn’t self-regulate at all, because that makes me stand out as Not Normal and make me a target? Instead of, maybe people should just accept that neurodivergent people exist and that it hurts no one if I need to decompress in a dark room and wear earplugs because my nervous system overloads easy?
Ethnically mixed and hairy in places my white, blonde peers weren’t? That doesn't hurt anyone either. The bullying I got from my body’s natural state was so traumatic I started shaving my arms and legs at age 8. But it didn't stop; just the fact that I had hair to shave was another reason to bully me. I got called disgusting for being hairy, disgusting for being smooth. Conforming did nothing to stop the harm. Happen to be queer? Guess I should have “given in” and forced myself to be straight and cisgender because, what? To please whom? To appear more normal so I will get “acceptance and support” by people who would drop me if I wasn’t like them? How is the argument literally “either be exactly the same as us or we’ll hurt you! :)” solid in any way? It sounds unhinged. Not a social environment I would want to be part of at all. (Spoiler alert:  As an adult I have friends and a support system of people who like me for the ways I am different and myself, and that’s actually what is life-changing. That’s real love.)
All of that was “different” enough to get me verbally and psychologically (and a few times physically) abused for over a decade in school. I did nothing wrong. I was just different.
To fit in and have a better life, I should hide all of this, because “that’s life?” What other ppl decide is normal and socially acceptable is “life”? We’re humans. We have free will. We can make the choice not to “eat people alive” just for harmless differences. There’s a reason these people try to justify it by relating to what they perceive as “mindless, empathyless” animal behavior and it isn’t good.
And to address one of their comments: Incorrect. Bullying is a form of abuse. I endured sustained, systematic attacks on my sense of self and my body by my bullies for my entire school life and even early adulthood. That is abuse. Period.
I wanted to do a proper video reply to this but I haven’t got the spoons. I might just script this into voice-to-text at some point.

A DOUBLE WARNING TO EVERYONE IN THE TROLLS DREAMWORKS FANDOM.
⚠️⚠️Do not interact with they. For your safety block and make others aware.⚠️⚠️
TW: Grooming, approval, justification and defense for abuse (incest and pedophilia).
1 Stay away from jade-green-butterfly also known as HealerCharm and Jussy (Justine Louise Heverm. She is from Colchester, United Kingdom). She’s on Tumblr, DeviantArt, Skype, Furaffinity and Discord. In the last few years she has been active and gaining recognition in the Trolls Fandom as if what she did to so many minors never happened so I want to spread awareness on what being a pedo really looks like and if anyone (especially minors) is friend with her they will know what kind of horrible person she is.
She was already exposed before with proofs, a lot of screenshots and testimonies of minors and Discord Mods that we can't invalidate or deny it really happened. She groomed minors on Discord: she sent them porn drawings to the chat, wanted to play a “sexy” RolePlay with minors and with a character that represents a little toddler girl. Her tastes are very clear. She is a very manipulative person and always plays the innocent victim card who made a simple mistake, but she knows what she is doing because she spread a victim blaming discurse, gaslighting and ignores all the screenshots and testimonies against her, she says they are not evidence and they are taken out of context, she is no fool.
These are not "slips" (as she wants to make them out to be), she does it on purpose, that is her true nature: an abuser.
Tumblr media
I see, it happens tho, but why Kaitlin practically dissapeared after being accused of grooming 14* years old kids in discord chats? (*It was 13).
Jussy: “It was THEIR FAULT. They were in wrong for doing NSFW too”.💀 By the way, I think I was told that this person is or was a caregiver.
2 KaitlinEXE (Maria Romina Auxiliadora Fernandez). She is from Cadiz, Spain. Is her friend, best friend, like a sister to Jussy. She also groomed minors and therefore deleted her entire existence from the internet in 2021.
Let's be honest, an adult or even a teenager is not interested in spending their leisure time with minors, no matter how much of a “babysitter” she is. If you like spending time with children as an adult, you become a teacher or nanny, and so on. Seeking to spend time alone with minors, giving them gifts, "friendship", flattery, adults "feeling" like children or liking children's things (drawing, watching cartoons, RP, toys) are all -together- characteristics of grooming.
Although she is a TEACHER over 35 years old, yet she is looking to spend time alone with minors. It seemed normal and right for her to accept the invitation to join a Discord group with its own NSFW section where she was the only adult there and they were all minors, as she gained the trust of those minors by being nice, giving them drawings, and "befriending" them. Wanted to RolePlay being a couple, kissing, dating on Valentine's Day and then she was planning to get married. Since they had a NSFW section I think you know where this is all going: to the "honeymoon". Interacting NSFW without her putting any kind of limits on them, she even encouraged them when they drew her porn drawings.
She is a fan of porn material that mimics the sexual exploitation of minors (mangas porn loli/shota), shipping a Gohan kid with and adult Piccolo (who is like his father), drew her own manga porn with her OC Kaitlin Classic with an Elecman Classic (who is his brother and they are both children), and was a big fan of a kindergarten little girls porn comic “Irina’s World” (El Mundo de Irina, Irina Isekai) all this while she was studying to be a kindergarten teacher because being with children has always been her dream.
People, don't be fooled. Be more critical of people. Just because they're “nice” doesn't mean you should overlook the nastier things they do because then you give them a free pass to continue being this way. Jussy and KaitlinEXE are old enough to know what they’re doing is wrong. For they the internet is some fantasy world to do whatever it feels like and It's not right. The people here are PEOPLE and are not here just for your entertainment and twisted fun.

hyunjin saves the day
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: hyunjin x afab!reader
prologue:  when life goes hectic, some people bring in a lot of comfort, you can count on hyunjin on a stressful day
genre: fluff + established relationship!au
wordcount: 657
warnings: none
Tumblr media
Twenty-seven missed calls, innumerable text messages, and left voicemails. All of these were sent to you in a mere span of two hours. Facing your phone and going through this could cause only one thing, panic.
For the past two hours, you had remained isolated from the rest of the world.
Giving presentations on the growing demand for global and accessible internet marketing to your clients sounded a bit dullbut was the necessity.
You were stressed thinking of the worst possibilities.
Why would your five year old’s school call you at unexpected hours? The mother's brain was only stuck at one question, was he alright?
You immediately took your leave from your corporate building, storming into your car and driving abruptly to your son’s kindergarten.
Your heart rate increased as you reached the reception to inquire about the matter. The only thing you needed right now was to hold your son in your hands.
Even though you had previous thoughts of dropping him when his father fled away after learning about your pregnancy, in the present time, your son was your motivation to live.
“Yes, Ms. Y/N. Ye-Jun injured himself during the swimming session today. We tried to reach out to you but didn’t receive any response back.”  The woman who appeared to be one of the school’s authorities stated with a rather questionable look on her face, judging you.
It was not something new for you. Everyday societal condemnation for being a single mother, being portrayed as some careless and unempathetic individual for still pursuing your career.
You thought to yourself as you drove back home to your little one.
“Ding Dong” the bell alarmed, and the doors of your apartment opened for you only to see your son, Ye-Jun, messily covered in chocolate, gummy bears and food sparkles accessoried with a spider man bandaid on his tiny forehead.
The little pororo apron, in addition made it evident he had been creating some mess in the kitchen.
“Look, Mumma’s back home! Give her a hug!” exclaimed Hyunjin.
You still remember your first date. You did not want to lose a person like him, would he also leave? Aafterall you lacked the “youth tag’ while still in your twenties.
But Hyunjin was different.
Recalling his and Ye-Jun’s first meeting, and you sure had never been that nervous before.
Would your then four year old accept a random guy you bring home as his mother’s partner, and in the bigger picture, his dad figure? That stage of your life was filled with doubts, insecurities and questions to say the least.
Luckily it only took Hyunjin one Woody x Buzz Lightyear impersonation to pass your son’s vibe check and ever since they had been gelling well together.
It was not long back when he earned the 'dad' title during the 'Bring Your Dad to School Day' when Ye-Jun suddenly blurted out the word.
Later that night, after cleaning up and dinner, you tucked your son into his bed, caressing his wound and still blaming yourself the same, for never being there for him when he needed you the most. You did not even realize when the tears started to well in your weary eyes.
Suddenly, you felt a pair of arms wrap around you. Obviously, it was Hyunjin who hummed sweetly as he brushed his nose to your nape.
“Is there something on your mind? You know I’m always all ears for that.” He affirmed.
“Nah, it’s just, Ye-Jun, I’m somehow always absent whenever he needs me”. You explained out.
“Come on, Y/N! Isn’t it too harsh to blame yourself for everything? He suggested.
"Have you ever thought that no one can do what you can do?”  He continued.
"To be honest, if I were you I would believe that every day of my life." And he continued to answer his own questions, earning a mini giggle from you.
Hyunjin sure did know how to save an awful day.

Why People Don't Like Ozzy (and why they do like other characters)
Every fandom has its favourites, and that of KG2 isn't exempt– just look at all the content of Penny, Ted, Nugget and Felix lol. But if there's one character that Kindergarten fans don't often think or care about, it's Ozzy.
At first glance, it seems obvious why. He's pretty whiny and a big downer, instantly dislikes the protag, and doesn't really have any shown positive qualities. He talks constantly about his allergies and asthma, obsesses over his routine, is willing to strangle Protag without a second thought, and the player is actively encouraged to kill him in Ted's mission.
But really, Ozzy's just, well. A five-year-old. Out of the KG cast, he's the one who acts most his age: he's rude at times, very focused on himself, and sulks about his favourite toy being broken– and those are all traits you'd expect from a kindergartener. He's surrounded by more emotionally compelling and mature characters, making him seem babyish in comparison.
His fears about his asthma and allergies are honestly valid, considering that the world in which he lives contains people constantly trying to off each other. He knows he's not well-liked, that his science teacher would (and does) use his corpse as a cadaver, that he could literally die from either of these things being set off.
Leading on from that, is his apathy regarding killing the protag really that surprising? He, like all the other students, knows what happens when people are sent to the principal's office or Danner gets out his laser gun. It wouldn't be surprising if he's just accepted death as part of his routine by then, unbothered by and desensitised to it just like the other kids.
He has problems with change, as little kids often do, and it's entirely reasonable that he's so upset about his friends getting "transferred". He just lost everyone he cared about seemingly because of the new kids, so his immediate response is to dislike them. He has a right to be worried and angry about Madison & co disappearing, most likely having seen plenty of people die in his school, but there's nothing he can do but take it out on Protag. Heck, if the player gives him the battery, he's even willing to give him a chance at friendship, saying that maybe the new kids aren't all bad and asking if Kid wants to play with him.
So why do people not like Ozzy, but find favourites in other characters? Take Felix, for example (on whom this fandom is typically divided into 2 extremes: loving and despising). He kills his brother remorselessly, is willing to further disable a paralysed child, cares only for himself and constantly belittles everyone around him.
But Felix is also a really fun character. His motives are great to explore, his relationship with Ted equally so, his manner of speaking is wonderful and he has some really good lines (e.g. "the real treasure is the friends we buried alive along the way"). He's so pompous that it's funny, he's always a blast to watch, and there's a lot of potential for angst for him.
Ozzy only murders one person, but that's the player. He's an obstacle, not meant to be liked. Felix murders his twin, but there's a whole lot to read into with that. He's a likeable character with an enjoyable story, and he typically comes with ball-of-sunshine Ted.
Ted is easy to like. People are sympathetic towards him because of Cain's Not Able and his seemingly horrible father. He's nice to Felix and feels had about killing Ozzy. His only motives are pleasing his brother, showing his loyalty and desperation to prove himself and be loved.
But he does kill Ozzy, or at least get Protag to do so for him, and plans the whole thing out independantly despite Felix saying that he would take care of it. He's not as dumb as Felix makes him out to be, can be cold-blooded and strategic when necessary, sticks to his plan no matter who it hurts (e.g. Carla with the gum, Ozzy himself) all in the name of showing he's capable. Ted isn't as innocent as people like to pretend, but he is more considerate than plenty the other characters.
Characters like Cindy and Buggs make Penny & Ted look like angels, and the big personalities everyone else possesses make Ozzy seem pretty boring. He's not particularly compelling, we're not supposed to like him, his only major plot point is that Ted wants the player to kill him, and he only ever shows concern for himself and characters whose only personalities are being experiments.
Even then, he refuses to hug Madison after she comes out of the lab, telling her to take a bath and calling her gross. We know what Madison has been through as the Protag so we feel bad for her, but looking at the situation through Ozzy's eyes is entirely different.
She's covered in something that looks disgusting and he's trying to get on him, and Ozzy hates getting dirty. All he's been told is that it's from the principal's secret lab, which only makes it seem more unhygienic. He's fully aware of the rules in science and labs at school, reminding Danner multiple times, and his mom has clearly enforced these before.
Again, he's five, so his lack of a filter isn't entirely his fault. He doesn't possess the emotional maturity to see that might upset her, he's just glad that she's back and scared of her touching him with her goo. He doesn't know she was kidnapped, he doesn't know what the goo is, he doesn't know why she didn't reach out if she was at school the whole time. He suggests something he sees as perfectly reasonable, and moves on with his life.
One of Ozzy's main characteristics is that he's a germophobe. Getting mad at him for that would be like getting mad at Ted for his arachnaphobia–even if Ozzy's ruder and more blunt about his fear.
Overall, people don't like Ozzy mostly because they don't find him interesting. He's not endearing or sweet, isn't shown as a nice character, and doesn't really have any spotlight moments like Felix or Penny. Nugget, too, is liked because of how new and unpredictable he is as a character, as well as some of his more emotional moments– all of which Ozzy lacks.
This has been on my mind for a little while, and it's been fun to put it into words! Thanks for getting this far into my little ramble, and I'd love it if you shared your thoughts!! Discussing things like this with people is always nice :D

What makes Itazura na Kiss: Love in Tokyo so special?
Tumblr media
This is probably my twelfth thousand re-watch of this drama, but this is not like all the other rewatches. I have decided to make this one special by using it to analyse the drama in more depth, and attempt to uncover why I love it as much as I do, despite all it’s flaws. I am writing this as I watch the episodes, so it might be considered somewhat of a commentary.
Season 01 Episode 01
Tumblr media
Starting off with the first episode, the opening scene is fantastic in my opinion. I love how we are getting introduced to Kotoko in the comfort of her own room, and getting a peek into her hearts deepest wish. I honestly think that this might be what made me like this version of Kotoko from the get go.
However, technically, the actual first scene of the story is the iconic confession scene (if you would even call it that). I am going to go on a tangent here and just say that I am an absolute fan of her letter, but I will get back to that in a later episode.
Tumblr media
The way she is nervous and excited before confessing and the way he flat out rejects her before she even has the chance to confess always makes me feel crushed for her, and is the reason why I initially disliked him. But now that I am actually analysing it, it is less harsh than how I’ve always perceived it (or this might just be me trying to explain it away).
Hear me out, consider the implication that he has a whole queue of girls that like him, drool over him and confess to him in school, his reaction/rejection is really not that surprising. Imagine receiving confessions from a bunch of girls, when you just want to live your life in peace … that must get old and tiresome fairly quickly. Additionally, the fact that the whole entire school is talking about the rejection might explain why he didn't accept her letter; had he accepted it (even if he rejected her afterwards), the whole school would probably assume that they were dating. On the other hand it makes me think, why would the whole school be interested in someone confessing? are we back in kindergarten?
We see later on that she still has that card with her. I think that for her, getting rid of it would feel like getting rid of her feelings for him, which is why she holds on to it.
Anyways, I find it quite ironic when Kotoko’s friends tell her “you and Irie are from different worlds” . Their worlds are literally going to forcibly merge under one roof very very soon.
Tumblr media
Another random thought I got, like a lot of my thoughts are, was why did Kotoko like Naoki, and not like Kinnouske? I mean he might not be handsome, he might not be smart, he might not be rich, but he is hardworking, talented and most importantly, he liked Kotoko, and was always nice towards her. This version’s Kinnouske has always been my favourite one. I think this version does a good job at portraying him as a three dimensional person, rather than a comic relief kind of personality *cough* Itazura Na Kiss 1996 *cough*.
When I started to pay more attention, I realised that although I do love Kinnouske, I do find him to often do things based on his own feelings, and does not consider what Kotoko wants. For example, I cant help but feel that he is a bit insensitive for being happy when Kotoko is sad after deciding to ‘give up’ on Naoki. This is a small detail, and perhaps I am reading too much into it, but I do feel that Itazura Na Kiss is all about the details. He sort of redeems himself for it by asking his friends to come and help her move, but soon it goes to shit again, which I will come to later on.
Tumblr media
I really like — at this point, everything really, but anyways — the reoccurring mentioning of “less possible than getting hit by a shooting star”, which is a kind of teaser to what is to come later on in the show. Although I’ve always thought that the reason for their house being destroyed in this version to be a bit dumb, I admit, I do like the thought and metaphor behind it, so I will turn I blind eye to it. I also find it hilarious how it ended up all over the news.
Kotoko’s extremely optimistic outlook despite everything that happened is perhaps her most charming personality trait. It makes me feel that her optimism is somehow what everything work out for her in the end.
Now, to one of the scenes I dislike most in this story. I am always tempted to skip the first episode altogether to avoid it. And that’s the scene where Kinnouske is collecting donations for Kotoko. Here we see Kin-chan’s good intentions having not so good results. I get the feeling that he does what he thinks is helpful for her, and never once stops to consider her feelings or ask her opinion on it, and the way she gets annoyed with him tells me that she’s not that fond of this either, despite what his intentions were.
Tumblr media
Back to Naoki. Looking at the size of that entrance, he could have 100% just walked around Kotoko and Kinnouske and gone in. Heck, following the little pattern we have so far, wouldn’t he purposefully avoid them to maintain a quiet and peaceful life? Now, he did just the contrary and approached them. Considering the fact that by the end of the episode he already knows about the arrangement (of her going to his home to stay there with her father), it would be safe to assume that at this moment in time, he already knows that she would stay in his house. This is supported by his response to her “preferring to die over taking his money”; “are you sure you want to tell me that?”. Therefore I assume that he approaches her out of curiosity.
If you pay close attention to this interaction, you will notice that Naoki did not say one thing that was wrong or out of line. Naoki giving Kotoko the money was not very nice. But more than anything, it was quite confusing. He told her “If I donate this money, you won’t argue with me anymore”. Now, Kinnouske was the one arguing with Naoki, so why would Naoki tell Kotoko that? Is it because he sees her as the most reasonable one, or rather, is it because they’re ‘her’ friends (thus making her responsible for them)?
Kotoko was the one with an explosive reaction in this situation [although she was in the wrong, I like how she stood by her friend eventhough they were fighting a few moments ago (if she realised the previously mentioned point that is).], and was more than a bit mean when saying “do you even have friends?”. Here we see just how much of an opposite to her he is. Instead of having an explosive reaction like Kotoko had, Naoki just finds her reaction amusing and leaves calmly.
Tumblr media
Now to when she goes with her father to the Irie household. Naoki’s mother’s (Noriko’s) comment of “you and I seem like we were meant to meet” and the fact that she knows that she’s in the same school as Naoki tells me that he told her about Kotoko; which in turn makes me think that she left a memorable impression on him. Kotoko’s reaction to seeing Naoki is Hilarious, especially te part where she’s too shocked, and is not shy to say “I’m just do surprised … because Iri-chan-san and Irie-kun don’t look alike at all” (I really am starting to realise and understand why Naoki finds her amusing).
Tumblr media
Another one of those small details; the way her father scoots away right off the bat when he saw Yuki asking her a question about a kanji character, and pretending to look at a random décor piece kills me (It’s nice to keep in mind; despite how similar Kotoko might sometimes be to her dad, he still has more awareness of his own ‘stupidness’ than her).
I recently watched one of @Machitsuki2 ‘s analysis videos, and like she pointed out, I did in fact notice how Kotoko was going straight to the food and cakes, while Naoki was mainly only sipping coffee (even during breakfast). This will become really important later on.
Tumblr media
Lastly, I love the interaction between Noriko and Kotoko when she takes her up to show her her room; Kotoko found a mother she never had, and Noriko found the daughter she never had. They are the first puzzle pieces that fit into each other perfectly.
When Naoki comes in and tells Kotoko that she took Yuki’s room, I get the feeling that rather than an insult it served to make Kotoko understand why Yuki disliked her so much. I might be a bit delulu, but I kind of feel that Naoki did this on purpose? anyone?
When Noriko asks Kotoko “do you like(suki) Sukiyaki?” and Kotoko looks at her (in Naoki’s direction) and confidently answers “I like it! (suki-desu!)” almost feels directed at Naoki. It is in fact the first time he hears her say it. This next part I had to go back and watch once more; Naoki only starts being mean to her when she pulled the bag from him (not wanting his help) and he saw the letter she wrote him drop out of it. I do wonder if he is mean to her because of that letter, or maybe because he thought she was rude towards him?
To be continued…(maybe)

Smoke and Mirrors
Yandere Two-Face X Oblivious Spouse Reader
Tumblr media
(This one shot is based off the song Smoke and Mirrors. Warning: Mentions of kidnapping, being held at gunpoint, implied murder, extremely unhealthy behavior. )
You had always been known to see the good in everyone. It was one of the many things that Harvey loved about you.
Even from a young age, you had always had a good heart and always thought the best of the world, which is hard when you live in the hellhole known a Gotham City.
Although Gotham had taken away some of the innocent ways you view the world, the city never completely got rid of your optimistic and loving personality. And Harvey loved it.
The older you and Harvey got, the more he was certain he wanted to marry you. The first time he ever asked you out he was a nervous wreak. But he was overjoyed when you said yes.
After a while of dating, you decided to make your relationship official and go married two years later. Although life wasn't perfect, the two of you were happy with each other.
You worked as a kindergarten teacher while Harvey was pretty big on politics, mayors, law, and all the really random boring stuff you didn't have any interest in. But it made Harvey happy, so you were more than accepting of his interests.
Everything felt perfect. . . until it wasn't.
That one fateful day were everything in your life changed. You had been just finishing up with your shift when you got a call from the hospital.
"Hello?" You asked raising the phone up to your ear.
"Hello, Is this Y/N Dent?"
"Yes, this is. Can I help you."
You were still in the middle of your shift. So you assume that the person on the phone was one of the children's gaurdian.
Oh, how wrong you were.
"I'm one of the doctors from ________ hospital. I am calling to inform you that you husband has been in an accident."
You froze all in hearing those words. An accident? What kind of accident? Is he hurt? Is he DEAD?
"Hello?"
You snapped out of your shock when you heard the woman speak again. "Are you still there?"
"Y-yeah." You respond, your voice full of worry. "I'm still here."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Harvey hated how he looked now. He had never been the same since that mob boss splashed acid on his face. He thought that once you saw his face, you would leave him forever, disgusted by the man you had once married.
But you... Oh sweet and kind you, stayed.
Even when Twoface came along, even with the switching and colliding personalities, even with the violent outbursts, you never gave up on him.
They both started growing obsessed, possessive, unstable. They made sure to keep there criminal activities out of your knowledge and leave you oblivious to the fact that they had been making the other people closest to you drop like flies.
This included Twoface. In all honesty, you didn't actually know about Twoface. Harvey just always played it off as him just having a really bad day whenever Twoface came through.
Neither of them could stand how some people, especially your co-workers, would look at you. How you were oblivious to the fact that so many of them wanted you for themselves.
They Despised it. How you never knew how much you had been hurting them. How you always gave those good for nothing meat sacks your attention.
Just who do you think you are to go and do something like that? Don't you know that you belong to them? Your THEIR spouse!
They would always come home annoyed and angry at those co-workers of yours. And at you sometimes as well. But you would always start acting all innocent and concerned,so they couldn't really stay mad at you for long. Harvey would just brush you off and say he had a rough day.
Twoface wanted to confront you head on. Show you a little murder or two and put it into your sweet little head that you can't go around doing something like that.
Harvey was opposed to the idea at first. Until one day he couldn't take it anymore. Two-face's idea had begun to sound extremely appeasing.
Especially because of one co-worker you had seemed to become attached to. They decided that they would be the perfect person for your punishment.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Your head spun in a daze as you opened your eyes. You awoke finding yourself tied to a chair in a room you were unfamiliar with. As your eyesight started to clear up, you noticed two other figures in the room.
You soon recognized them. One of them was your husband, and the other one was your co-worker. The co-worker that was like a best friend to you.
You starred in horror as you watch your friend , who was bound, blindfolded and gagged immediately receive a slap across their face by your husband.
"Stop struggling!"
"H-harv..."
You were terrified as you watched the man you loved hurt your best friend. He had never acted this way before. It was almost as if he wasn't your husband at all.
He immediately turned to you with a scowl on his face once he heard the sound of your voice . "Well, Well, Well. look who finally decided to wake up frome their beauty rest."
Your fear soon turned into anger one you had came back to your senses.
"W-what... Just what the hell is wrong with you?! What on earth did you do to them!?"
"Harvey's" eyes darkened at your outburst. As he walked up to you , regret seeped through you.
"Harvey" roughly grabbed you by your shoulders and lifted you and the chair you were tied to slightly off the ground to reach his face, making you let out a small wimper.
"Don't you dare raise your voice at me Y/N!" He snapped, holding your shoulders so hard that you started to think he was going to break them.
"Harv! S-stop it, your hurting me!" You wined. You then let out a small yelp as he immediately dropped you and almost made you fall over in your chair in the process.
"Hate to break it to ya sweetheart, but I ain't Harvey." Twoface said as he pulled out a pistol from its holder. That immediately shut you up. He took immediate notice of this.
Straddling himself onto your lap he raised the pistol to your chin and forced you to look up at him. Although his eyes were dark and bloodthirsty, they had a glint of amusement in them as well.
"Listen up darling." Twoface whispered into your ear. "Me and you are going to play a little game. And maybe, just maybe, I'll let that little home wreaker go free. How does that sound?"
You look past him to your friend. What other choice did you have? You couldn't just let your friend die.
Giving a satisfied smirk when you slowly nodded, Twoface put his pistol back into the holster. Now resting his arms on the top back of the chair, he sat there looking down on you.
"First things first, I want you to tell me that you love us."
"W-what?" You asked confused. "I don't un-"
"I know you heard me!" Twoface snaped. "Look me in my eyes and tell me that you love us!"
Flinching slightly from his out burst you took took a small pause before mumbling "I love you."
Twoface was getting aggravated at this point. "You and I both know that you can do better then that Y/N." He said now leaning even closer to you which made you extremely uncomfortable. "Lets try that again sweetheart, and this time, act like you mean it."
Taking a deep breath look looked up into the man's eyes and calmly stated the words that he so desperately wanted to hear. "I love you darling."
Twoface let out a small chuckle. "See, that wasn't so hard, now was it?"
You didn't say anything.
"The next thing I want you to do." He states, getting even closer to your face."Is give us a kiss."
Wanting to get this whole game of his over with you immediately smashed your lips into his. Twoface responded by kissing back even harder as he roughly grabbed the sides of your head to bring you in closer.
He made sure that the kisses happened for as long as possible.
It soon got to the point were he would move away from your lips ,for your neck, and then move back to your lips again.
Once he was satisfied with all the hickeys he had given you, he pulled away slowly, leaving a taste of blood and copper on your lips.
He was able to quickly compose himself before going to the last part in his little "game".
Getting off your lap, Twoface reached into his pocket and pulled out a shiny metal coin.
" You should know that this last little part of my game darling, is a game I like to call Heads or Tails."
Your heart sank into your chest. You had a feeling that you knew exactly where this was going.
"Here is how this is going to work. If The coin lands on the clean side, then I'll let your so-called friend go. If lands on the scratched side, then I pump them full of lead."
"W-wha-"
Before you could get a word in, he threw the coin into the air. As it gently fell back into his palm, he slapped the coin onto his other hand and reviled it to be . . .
Scratched.
Ignoring all of your begging and pleading, Twoface immediately pulled the pistol back out from its holster, and headed towards his hostage.
Ripping the gag off their mouth, you could hear small relived breaths.
Tears started to stream from your eyes as you kept on pleading to no avail. You then watched Twoface raise the gun to their forehead.
Then . . .
The sound of a gunshot fires.
You just sat there in shock. You tried to speak, but no words seemed to come out.
Harvey had now taken over as the two of them walked back over to you.
Sitting back onto your lap, he placked his head comfortably onto your shoulder.
You wanted to yell at him. Punch him. Kick him. Run away. But for some reason, you couldn't bring yourself to do it.
"Please don't be sad love." Harvey lovingly whispered into your ear. "We just couldn't take it anymore."
Sitting back upright, Harvey gently wiped the tear that had trickled down your face.
" Their not in the way anymore s-so just. . . " His voice now sounded desperate. "Please say that you'll stay with us. . . We love you so so much, darling. "

If you ask the question, what is unique about this war? What is different about this war than all of our other wars? It's not the civilian death toll. The ratio of combatants to civilians is, I think it's better than the American army's was when we got ISIS out of Mosul. That was like 10,000 civilians dead to kill 4000 ISIS. This is 19,000 civilians dead to kill 13,000. It's not that.
What's unique about this war, unlike every other war that I could think of, is you have an army in Hamas that has perfected the art of embedding itself, enmeshing itself with civilians, so that you cannot hit them without hitting the people around them. Other armies have done this, but none have perfected it to the extent that Hamas has. No army that I know of in military history has had 15 years to build 300 miles of tunnel underneath a city, that they don't use to shelter the civilians, but they use to shelter themselves, so that they can operate right under a kindergarten, right under a mosque.
So, this is a challenge no army has faced. And so that's what makes this war different. And yes, I agree with all of the absolute tragedy and suffering of the Palestinian people, but what creates that is the way Hamas fights.
And either we can say one of two things. We can either say, well, Israel just. Israel doesn't have a clean shot, and so they have to let Hamas get away with it because it's too much to bear. But then we are essentially creating a situation where terrorists have found the perfect solution, which is that you can cross the border, go house to house slaughtering your enemies, and then hide behind your own people, and they can do nothing about it. It's a perfect strategy. Can we live in a world where we allow that to be an acceptable strategy? I don't think so. And it's very ugly to watch. It's heartbreaking. And I completely understand why people don't think the way I think when they see the videos. I completely get it. But I don't think we can actually live in a world where that's allowed to be a strategy.
==
For the true believers, no ratio of civilians to terrorists will ever be acceptable, no matter how low it is compared to every other war ever fought, because it's not actually about the death toll, because the total in the Maghreb insurgency is comparable, but over a much shorter period, and they either don't know or don't care about that. The problem that a "western" country - and particularly Israel - has the audacity to defend itself, and win, against Islamic terrorist barbarians. This is also why they side with the savage Houthis.

Coming Out Story
Basically, I’ve bored right now, so this is my coming out story, except coming out to myself and being accepting of my own identity if that makes sense. Also, I’ll only be doing elementary school and then a brief summary as to not reveal my age. Stay safe kids!
Trigger Warnings: homophobia, internalized homophobia
I was a pretty “sheltered” kid, by that I mean no one told me anything about anything important in the world. I remember when I was six someone mentioned two men getting married, and I was flabbergasted. It seemed the like craziest thing on the planet to me. But, I probably moved on and just held that memory without thinking much on it. Now, we skip to kindergarten, and I have what I really hope was my first crush but to be honest I have no clue- Basically, there was this boy, and I guess little me was like, “But the way he smiled at me as he threw sand in my face.” Needless to say, I got over that pretty quickly. Now, in first grade I meet this other guy, and I like him. It’s mutual so we have one of those little ‘first grade relationships’. But, the person I really liked was his sister who must have been in… Second grade at the time? I don’t really remember. But, in my head, I convinced myself that I just thought she was really cool. Then, when I started second grade I moved and started a new school, and it was very different. Here kids would openly shout swears and throw handballs at each other’s faces. It was usually fine if you weren’t hanging out in specific areas. Another big thing that happened here were these two girls that were best friends. And they said they would get married one day and have a family because that’s how close of friends they are. And I remember thinking (maybe I even said this), “Isn’t that a bit weird?” I don’t remember what happened next. Let’s skip to third grade, and I start to become OBSESSED with Harry Potter- Well, he’s cool too, but Ginny Weasley was probably the reason for that obsession. (Yes, I would read an entire book series for a pretty girl, you dare underestimate me?) And she was my favorite character ever, and I was even her for Halloween. Other than that, I don’t really have many other core memories for third grade. After that, fourth grade is a bit of a blur. I think I finally learned what gay is, but was still denying that I am. At this point, I’ve had quite a few crushes on girls, but I had always played it off as, “I just want to be her friend,” or something like that. Okay, now a lot happened in fifth grade, bear with me. At sometime in fifth grade I had bought a pride pin not knowing what it was, that’s kind of insignificant, but also some silly foreshadowing. Oh, also in fifth grade I found out that a few of my classmates were queer. And then, my mom taught me what the word queer meant when relating to gay people. Then on top of all that, I finally realized that I had a crush on someone, a girl. And the classic sapphic logic states that it was clearly my best friend… I ignored my feelings and shunned them. Called myself horrible things, for some reason brought religion into it? But at some point I learned the term bisexual. And I was like, “Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, that seems fitting,” so I stuck with that and didn’t tell anyone until the following school year. But that’s a story time for a different day. Now, skipping to the present, I identify with the terms omnironantic, sapphic, asexual, and queer. Thank you for reading my chaos!
