Could you write Chubby!Levi Ackerman x F!reader ? I mean imagine him with curves like his face is filled out , his cheeks are chubbier , his waist is getting plumped without forgetting his cute rounded tummy (fluff)
Hi anon :> That's such a cute idea, I'll also throw some tea shop au into the mix. Apologies if it's short, but I hope you like it <3 Content: Nothing but tooth rotting fluff
After the War for Paradis was finished and peace had finally been accomplished in your war torn world, you felt like you were given a chance to lead the life you'd always wanted but never had. Granted, you'd made it out with your life, which made you a lot luckier than the majority of the scouts, but you'd also had to endure years of sacrifice for the sake of humanity, as had your boyfriend and captain, Levi Ackerman. You first started dating him about 5 years before the War for Paradis, and you'd only grown closer since, even with all the obstacles of being in the Scouts and Levi's almost complete lack of free time. Over the years, he'd opened up to you, confided in you as you had done with him long before. It had been you two against the world, but now you finally had the rest of your lives to dedicate to each other.
Almost as soon as the war finished, you'd surprised Levi by buying a quaint little tea shop on the edge of a forest. The tea shop had a tiny apartment on the second floor, so you could live and work there. When you'd first arrived at the building, it was obvious it had been out of use for quite some time, but you'd both got to work and soon it was unrecognisable. Plants lines the entrance and hung from the windows and ceiling of the first floor, constantly bright green and fragrant regardless of the time of year. The shelves inside and the windowsills were cluttered with small ornaments and old books. You'd polished the wooden furniture and repainted it a muted grey and white, which had definitely given the place some life. As soon as you'd opened officially, the tea shop started smelling of herbal teas and freshly made teacakes, which you displayed every day on the counter. To this day, you and Levi ran it together, with him brewing the tea and coffee and you making a variety of teacakes to go with the drinks. The place was usually pretty quiet, as only travellers would go inside for a drink. You both preferred it that way.
As the years went on, and you became Mrs Ackerman instead of Miss L/N, Levi aged like fine wine, his face opening up and his eyes starting to shine a bit more. Now that he didn't have to stick to the strict fitness regiment and meagre diet of the scouts, he'd gained some weight- his face and cheeks had grown rounder, as had his waist and abdomen. In your eyes, that, along with his more relaxed, casual demeanour, made him more adorable and loveable than ever. When you teased him, you always pinched his cheeks (when there was no one there, of course- the ex Captain of the scouts still had a reputation to uphold !) and when you were in bed together, his thighs and abdomen were the perfect place to rest your head as you cuddled. That was how you fell asleep and woke up everyday in your shared bedroom in the tiny apartment. On weekends, you'd sleep in, holding each other close and showering each other with kisses as you ate teacakes and casually flicked through a newspaper or simply talked. It's funny how you can spend your entire life by someone's side and still have things to talk about. That wasn't something you believed possible before Levi, but he'd surprised you once again. He normally wasn't the talkative type by any means, but when he was with you, he said he felt simultaneously grounded and free, so he could let down his walls.
One picturesque summer night, as you were finishing washing some dishes after the tea shop had closed, you heard Levi's voice from behind your shoulders.
"I'm going to bed. Make sure to finish quickly with those plates and join me,"
You turned around and took in the sight of him. He was wearing a loose white flannel shirt and black linen trousers, his go to for the summer. Your heart ached with love for him. You nodded with a smile and kissed his soft cheek as he walked past. He responded by wrapping an arm around your waist and giving you a gentle squeeze.
"Good night, Captain," you said jokingly, just like you used to in the first days of the relationship
"Good night, brat," he replied, catching on immediately. You felt yourself smiling wide. When he left the room, you walked across the tea shop to one of the windows and looked outside. The night sky above the forest was filled with bright stars. You made a silent wish as you looked at them, praying that you could spend the rest of your life with the only man you'd ever love in your little tea shop shaped paradise.

Coffee or Tea pt.2
Tumblr media
Part 1
part 3
Masterlist
Summary: Coffee Shop AU where the reader goes to the same coffee shop often to read books, study, or just drink tea and stare at the walls lol. I don't know the exact layout of LA so let's just assume that UCLA is close to this coffee shop which is also close to where all the celebrities are IDK lol I live in Georgia 💀.
Rating: M (T as of now but it will change later)
Pairings: Austin Butler x Reader, Austin Butler x race-neutral reader
Word Count: 892 Warnings: Age gap and the reader is definitely fem presenting but I'm doing my best to leave out any other definite features.
Authors Note: I am going to try to get these chapters pumped out as fast as possible because school is starting up for me again tomorrow so I won't have a lot of time to write ;(. I can already feel the tears coming lol. Also, the reader is inexperienced with flirting and sexual stuff because she is also very shy and has ✦trauma✦. Enjoy!

After finishing the movie, y/n was speechless, to say the least. The movie was nothing less than perfect. Her hands had been clasped together for a minimum of 15 minutes as the movie had come to an end. Y/N had yet another thing to obsess over during her summer break, lovely. Now that this was checked off her list y/n took out her book, opened to her page, and proceeded to get lost in it for the next 3 hours. Unbeknownst to her, Austin had not taken his eyes off her for more than 8 seconds at any given time.
Austin needed to find a way to talk to her. She was absolutely ethereal. Her hair framed her face perfectly and it took all of Austin's self-control to not reach out and touch it. As much as he wanted to do more, he was content to watch her as she finished the last of the movie and pulled out a book to read afterward. Oh, what Austin would give to have the confidence to talk to her. The only thing that a childhood spent in front of a camera had taught him was that he had much to be insecure about.
Y/n stayed unaware of Austin's turmoil for many more months to come but she was always watching the actor in the corner of her gaze. Seeing him never got old. His golden waves seemed to reflect the sunlight in the best way and his sharp blue eyes made her knees buckle and her chest warm. Well, this was new.
Although both parties desperately wanted to speak to the other, they remained ignorant of the other's desires.
~ Present~
Austin had had enough. Today was the day. Today he was going to speak to the soft girl with pretty eyes and supple cheeks. He would speak to her come hell or high water because he had spent the last 5 months formulating an introductory line and he was getting tired of only being able to dream of what her voice sounded like.
She was going to do it. Y/N was going to talk to Austin Butler today. Y/N had been telling herself this every time she came to the cafe for the last 2 months and she had yet to follow through. What could she say, he was intimidating. Y/N resolved to stop lying to herself and took a seat in her usual spot. She could just admire him as she always did and she was content with just that.
Austin walked into the cafe with a mission. He eyed the girl in the corner of the cafe where she always sat. Crap. He was nervous again. Coffee would calm him down and then he could hopefully muster up the courage he had been lacking for the last 5 months. After receiving his drink, Austin took action.
Y/N had not yet looked up from her book so she had not seen Austin walk in and order his drink. This however worked in Austins' favor. Because he walked up next to her and spoke when she looked up.
Y/N felt the shadow of a figure block out the light fixture over her. She looked up to see who it wa-.
Oh
No
It was Austin. He was standing right next to her. So close that she could move her hand a couple inches and be able to tou-.
" Hey, do you mind if I sit here? These chairs look like the comfiest in the whole store and I need a place to rest my legs." An easy smile worked its way onto his face as he finished his opening line. Success.
" Of course! Take a seat. I always sit here because the seats are so comfy too."
Austin could not have accurately imagined her voice if he tried. It was soft and airy just like her. He wanted to hear it again in fact he needed to hear it again. He needed to keep talking to her.
"Are you from around here? I see you in this coffee shop often so I was curious." Y/N was equally smitten with Austin's voice as he was hers. His was smooth and oh so deep. When he spoke y/n swore she could feel her stomach fill up with butterflies and another feeling she couldn't yet place her finger on.
" Yeah I go to UCLA and I live in the palms to be close to school. I didn't catch your name by the way?" The secret smile she gave Austin after she spoke almost took him off his feet. Her smile was everything he could wish for.
" My name's Austin. I also live around here because of work. What's your name?" His voice fell an octave as he eyed y/n up and down. She was drowning in a thick, wool sweater with a black skirt on and black tights. Her platform docs looked too big for her feet and made her ankles and calf seem all the more fragile. Austin eyed the piercings in her ears as well as the stacked gold necklaces she wore with the tightest one almost constricting her neck. Everything about her was captivating in a way that Austin was not accustomed to.
" My name is Y/N. It's a pleasure to meet you Austin." Y/N smiled at him as if he had just pulled the moon out of his pocket.

Note
IDK if you did mention this or I'm making it up, but I feel like you said you'd post the actual list you picked from for the AU roulette challenge at least partway through the month? (I didn't make the signups on time :') and probably would've procrastinated anyway oops, so I've been curious)
Thanks!
No, you remembered right! I was hanging onto it for a while in case anyone wanted to make requests for a second fandom, but I never actually got any secondary prompt requests, so i decided to wait until the end of the challenge instead.
My AU list was as follows:
1 - Pacific Rim/mecha 2 - Star Wars/space opera 3 - Roleswap 4 - Superhero 5 - Vampire 6 - DnD/fantasy 7 - Star Trek/space exploration 8 - Post-apocalypse 9 - Fairytale 10 - High seas 11 - Time travel 12 - Western 13 - Daemon 14 - Mythology 15 - Coffee shop 16 - College/academia 17 - Community theater 18 - Summer camp 19 - Ghost/cryptid hunters 20 - Secret agent 21 - Sherlock Holmes/detective 22 - Cyberpunk 23 - Medieval/Renaissance 24 - 1920s/Prohibition 25 - Road trip 26 - Your job 27 - Indiana Jones/archaeologist 28 - Heist 29 - Your favorite historical era 30 - Band/musicians 31 - Farm/ranch 32 - Lovecraftian/cosmic horror 33 - Urban fantasy 34 - Roller derby 35 - Shakespeare/classic lit
If I ever run the challenge again, I would probably keep some of the same AUs on the master list just because I chose classics for a reason, but I might randomize which ones stay in and which ones get replace just for an extra layer of roulette.

Haikyuu Fic Masterlist Pt. 7
Part 6 here
Part 5 here
Part 4 here
Part 3 here
Part 2 here
Part 1 here
The ever long awaited (by no one) masterlist part 7. I seriously did not think that this would have so many parts. (ps: am high writing this high so forgive for type-os)
One of my fav ships for a little while was YakuLev and yet, I barely have any fic recs for them. They’re just not usually the main pairing in a fic so it’s hard to find decently written fics for them. BUT I still have a few recommendations for them so enjoy!
Haiba Lev x Yaku Morisuke
One Step Closer
Word count: 8,192
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Yaku is an omega who likes to nest, and Lev is an alpha with a really nice scent. Unfortunately.
STOP omg I’m so sorry but you have to admit A/B/O is literally such an interesting and fun trope to read it’s just so strange and yet, so popular
The Lion and the House Cat
Word count: 3,337
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: The lion on Yaku Morisuke's wrist definitely doesn't apply to a certain tall, obnoxious first year. Nope. Not at all. No, Kuroo, he does NOT have a crush!
This one is very sweet and a soulmate AU!
thank god for the day I hear your name
Word count: 2,175
Rating: N/A
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: You’re sure the worst part is that you can feel it as it happens; it starts with fond amusement and escalates to dreams you’d rather not talk about and you’ve stared at the summer night-sky and thought about Lev like you’ve thought about home. You wish the stars would fall right down and shoot you where he’s burrowed his heart against yours and Haiba Lev is a problem.
This one is written in a very very interesting way. Def not for everyone and usually not for me but something about this fic just made me feel things and objectively speaking, it is a well written fanfiction
What Not to Wear
Word count: 4,857
Rating: General Audiences
Status: Completed: chapters 1/1
Summary: In which Yaku helps Lev dress for success, with no idea of the consequences.
I love this one! They truly are just a cute couple
Flowers and Ink
Word count: 3,903
Rating: N/A
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Yaku went to the flower shop next door to get inspiration for a commission, not to get a huge crush on the awful florist that worked there.
Very nice Tattoo/flower shop AU
Light On the Water <3<3<3<3
Word count: 1,532
Rating: General Audiences
Status: Completed; chapters 1/-
Summary: Nekoma at the lake, in the swing of summer. All things surface from here.
Probably the most romantic and beautifully written fanfictions I have ever written. I have never been more in love with a fic please just read it even if you don’t like this pairing. Nostalgic feeling Drabble piece
i put sugar on everything
Word count: 7,300
Rating: Mature
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Yaku won’t admit it, but he lives for the smell of coffee.
I meannnnn
Yaku and The Beanstalk
Word count: 4,155
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Yaku Morisuke is many things: a libero, a caretaker, a good student. He's also about to find Lev Haiba stuck in a vending machine. (In which Yaku accidentally recruits Lev to the volleyball team and can't get rid of him after.)
Probably the most iconic YakuLev fic? It’s the one of the only ones with lots of hits/kudos/bookmarks
Innocent Enthusiasm <3<3
Word count: 17,192
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 3/3
Summary: Yaku was perfectly happy with no-one knowing he was an omega. He was also perfectly happy not ever going through a heat thanks to suppressants. And then the wet dream happened. The wet dream that Lev also had. And so Yaku now has to deal with his confused feelings for his kouhai whilst Lev seems oblivious to how his innocent enthusiasm for everything sends Yaku insane...in a good way. It's amazing what can happen in the span of a few days.
Second fav fic for this pairing :D A/B/O but it’s rlly good
Touch <3
Word count: 10,513
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: After a twisted ankle and an uncomfortable realization, Yaku starts to see a different side of Lev—one he doesn't want to kick at all. (Or, well... not often.)
AWWWH CUTIES
five minutes <3
Word count: 16,341
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Lev thinks he's great at sex. Yaku begs to differ, but isn't unwilling to help him learn.
I love this one! (Non-fetishized) Trans Yaku and just a tone of eating out it’s fun
Those are my YakuLev fics! Next up, UshiTen! They are another one of my favourite rare pairs!
Ushijima Wakatoshi x Tendou Satori
Ushijima’s World Is Around 71.1 kgs
Word count: 1,071
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 1/-
Summary: The old crew from Shiratorizawa get together for a drinking party and everyone gets to see first hand just how strong Ushijima still is and how much he loves his boyfriend.
Short and sweet!
Queen of His People <3<3<3
Word count: 40,573
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 22/22
Summary: Six years before Kageyama and Hinata found each other, Tendou Satori found his place among his chosen people.
Second favourite UshiTen fic! This has no smit but it’s so worth it because it is completely plot based and the world building is fucking incredible. I mean it when I say this is my favourite author ever
And they are roommates
Word count: 1,793
Rating: General Audiences
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: “Wakatoshi, are you ready...to move into the future?!” Tendou yelled, dramatically pointing at him. Ushijima smiled and walked over to Tendou. They had been dating for a few years, and after graduating high school, had decided to move in together. “Of course, Satori.” “Well, then I was thinking-“ “But we aren’t getting this bed.”
This one is a bit of crack bit of seriousness idk guys lol
In the Comfort of Your Bedsheets
Word count: 2,378
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary; There's a bird tattooed across his shoulders, and he knew from the moment he saw Wakatoshi, that they were meant to be.
AWH I love them
i ain’t got anything to be afraid of
Word count: 4,984
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed, chapters 1/1
Summary: 5 times Tendou attempts to scare Ushijima (and fails), and 1 time he doesn’t try (but succeeds).
This one is written well and really sweet!
while i nodded, nearly napping (suddenly there came a tapping) <3
Word count: 10,730
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Of course if there was one thing that could be counted on, it was Ushijima’s blunt, total honesty. “Do you think Tendou is attracted to me?” Reon froze. “T-Tendou?” “Yes.” Tendou was notoriously hard to read, but Reon kind of figured that he wasn’t the type to be anything less than painfully overt with romantic affections. “I... I don’t think you have anything to worry about. I think if Tendou was attracted to you, he would let you know,” Reon said. “I'd guess he just considers you his best friend.” He hoped his answer would satisfy whatever frenzy the guy had worked himself into so Reon could finally take advantage of his last precious hours of sleep. But instead, Ushijima visibly deflated in front of him. “Yes. That’s what I thought too,” he said miserably. Oh, Reon realized. Oh no...

Word count: 6,071
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Up until now, he’s managed to keep sex and volleyball separate. He’d learned early on, whether they be teammates or rivals, getting involved in any play outside the court with fellow volleyballers was ill-advised. Ok, there’d been Ushijima in university but who could blame him? And they’d remained friends after. Besides, he didn’t know Sawamura would be one of his players at the time and now that he is that’s that. At least, that's what he's telling himself.

Miya Atsumu x Sakusa Kiyoomi
Peace of Routine
Word count: 8,474
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: After Atsumu moved to Tokyo, Sakusa's daily routine never recovered. He no longer worked solo jobs, he doubled his spending on cleaning products, and he rarely slept alone. Sakusa would have hated those things, before he met Atsumu. Now he wouldn't want his routine any other way.
I think this is probably my fav for SakuAtsu
Read the Receipt
Word count: 6,689
Rating: General Audiences
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: “I think we’re done here, thank you, Osamu. If we could just have the bill?” As though waiting for those words, Osamu removed a small square of paper from his pocket. And leaned over to slam the paper down on the table in front of Sakusa. “You’re paying tonight.” “What?”, Atsumu squawked, his eyebrows traveling further up his forehead. “Why?” “He knows why.”
Probably the ultimate proposal AU ngl
Call Me Maybe
Word count: 1,799
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: “What caused your nosebleed?” Dr. Sakusa asks, typing something into a computer next to him. “M’ brother smacked me in the face with a Wii controller,” Atsumu tells him. “We were playing Just Dance 4,” he adds. Dr. Sakusa raises an eyebrow. “What song?” He asks, and suddenly Atsumu feels very awkward. “Call Me Maybe,” he mumbles.
This one’s funny!
In Full Bloom <3
Word count: 9,598
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Sakusa has fallen in and out of love more times than he can count on one hand, his heart's restless endeavours forever marked by the flowers that bloomed across his skin. Just as he wrestles his heart under control, Atsumu comes crashing in once more, awakening long-forgotten feelings and painting Sakusa's life in the warmest rays of sunlight. But as fate would have it, Sakusa cannot stop loving Atsumu when he needs to more than ever.
They just can’t stop loving each other
It’s not Complaining, it’s Questioning <3
Word count: 1,669
Rating: General Audiences
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: In which Sakusa is annoyed that Atsumu picked Aran as a roommate and Ushijima and Komori have to deal with it.
Jealous Sakusa is so funny he’s such a whiny baby lmfao
Ode to the Night Sky
Word count: 2,403
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: The concept of a muse was so foreign and out of reach for Kiyoomi before he met Atsumu. He drew inspiration from the world around him, but having one thing, one person be the driving force behind his creativity had sounded laughable. It's in nights like these that he wonders how he could have ever been so naive to the strength a muse could have.
Body worship is just so good guys
Shades of Ink
Word count: 12,667
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 3/3
Summary: It’s fortunate that Miya Atsumu is such a good tattoo artist, because that appears to be his only redeeming quality. He’s too loud, too cocky, and so overtly flirtatious that Sakusa almost leaves the shop before he even steps inside. But he’s seen firsthand that Atsumu does good work, so he stays and suffers through it. The longer he's there, the more he thinks maybe Atsumu isn't all bad. When Atsumu asks for a tattoo from Sakusa’s shop in return, Sakusa knows he should turn Atsumu down. He doesn’t. What should have been a routine business transaction turns into something more hands-on than either of them expected.
Love tattoo AUs lol
Goodnight Kiss
Word count: 4,731
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Sakusa’s fingers curled at Atsumu’s jaw, hovering, before falling away. “We can’t be friends with benefits, considering we’re not friends.” Atsumu smiled, because Sakusa’s voice wasn’t completely flat. There was a familiar twist to it, sharp but not wounding. “Wanna be friends, then?” “No.” Atsumu glanced down at Sakusa’s hand. “Wanna be somethin’ else instead?” Sakusa didn’t say yes, but he didn’t say no, either. He glanced away and then back. “I don’t know.”
This is a really good one! Well written and a little angsty
ink blossoms
Word count: 8,168
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Opening a flower shop wasn’t the first idea Atsumu had for his future but in retrospect he wouldn’t trade it for anything. There was a certain joy in arrangements and learning the language of flowers so each bouquet meant something perfect. His little flower shop was a humble but bright place among the cobblestone plaza and people came and went with flowers for their loved ones. The business was good, the customers were kind, and the company he kept was amazing. It was perfect. At least until the tattoo parlor across the plaza finally opened.
Flower shop/tattoo artist AU lol
Notice <3
Word count: 7,034
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Embarrassingly, Miya Atsumu is the third person to notice his crush on Sakusa. And it's his crush in the first place.
This one is really funny and def one of my favs for this rare pair! Just such a good lil Drabble
School Bus Yellow
Word count: 4,904
Rating: General Audiences
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Atsumu has a crush on Sakusa, and it’s kind of ridiculous how much he likes a guy who wears ugly colored jackets and is afraid of germs. Though, Atsumu’s probably not all that great himself. He’s still figuring that part out.
This is the first SakAtsu I’ve ever read and it’s a little angsty with a lot of happy ending lol
Goshiki Tsutomu x Kawanishi Taichi
Knight and Bishop <3<3
Word count: 52,722

If you’re just looking into some new pairings to read and you come across these two, this fic is part one of a series for them :)
Bokuto Koutarou x Kuroo Tetsurou
Victors <3
Word count: 5,255
Rating: Mature
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Kuroo and Bokuto were longtime rivals in the ring, but grew into something else behind the scenes. They've climbed to the top of the MMA hierarchy, and find themselves competing against one another for the championship title. It's a hard fight that leaves them bruised and bloody, but that's nothing new. Neither is the way they take care of each other afterward, in more ways than one.
Love MMA fighter AUs and this one is just wow
amarillion <3
Word count: 12,096
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: the story of how Koutarou falls for his best friend.
I fucking adore this fic. Bokuto and Akaashi’s friendship in this is everything they’re so supportive of each other and I just love the lil character study in this
Behind the Scene
Word count: 21,768
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 5/5
Summary: Kuroo is a typical college student. He goes to class, struggles through homework, and goes to the occasional party with his friends. The only atypical thing about him is his choice of part-time job. Kuroo isn't ashamed of doing cam work. He's certainly making more money than his friends who spend hours at a time working in restaurants or coffee shops. He enjoys the work, he makes his own schedule, and the other cam boys in his network aren't bad to look at, either. He's fond of one in particular, the ever-popular NightOwl. As it turns out, NightOwl is a fan of Kuroo's, too.
YAS camboy AU that has my heart I love
I know they’re best friends but that’s what makes their chemistry so awesome even tho I think irl they wouldn’t make a good couple lol
Daishou Suguru x Kozume Kenma
Reliable
Word count: 1,003
Rating: Mature
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Kuroo makes the mistake of leaving Kenma alone in a club. Frustrated at his best friend, Kenma leaves with a handsome rival who shows him a good night and then takes him home like a gentleman. Kuroo is not pleased.
This pairing is interesting to say the least. I enjoyed this fic tho ngl
Kageyama Tobio x Oikawa Tooru
Not Enough
Word count: 7,640
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 2/2
Summary: Kageyama and Oikawa realized they were soulmates in Junior High. Too bad Oikawa wants nothing to do with Kageyama.
This is the only fic for these two that I have because they are really not my favourite at all
Bokuto Koutarou x Kozume Kenma
I’m Which Bokuto Is Sorely Mistaken
Word count: 566
Rating: Teen +
Status: Completed; chapters 2/2
Summary: Sure, Bokuto knew how good Kenma was at video games. Of course he did, he was best friends with his best friend, he’d heard all the stories of Kenma destroying Kuroo five times a day when they were growing up. But, let’s be honest, that didn’t mean much, considering Bokuto also destroyed Kuroo every time they tried to have a “friendly contest”.
This one is just so weirdly good I never would have considered Bokuto and Kenma being together omfg
Oikawa Tooru x Ushijima Wakatoshi
Old Grudges <3
Word count: 6,475
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Oikawa never liked Ushijima. At least, until he accidentally started sleeping with him. Oikawa convinces himself that the sex isn't a problem. It's just a night here and there with no strings attached. They don't even have to like each other. But the more time they spend together, the more Oikawa realizes it's impossible to hate someone like Ushijima.
Another pairing I’m not huge on because I don’t think Oikawa is the kind of person to get over grudges but I fucking LOVE how they’re portrayed together in this fic it’s fucking beautiful
Iwaizumi Hajime x Semi Eita
Blacktop Rivalries <3<3
Word count: 31,006
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 6/6
Summary: When Oikawa first put together the motorcycle gang, Iwaizumi thought it was stupid. Now, several years later, the best days of his life are when he's on the road, lost in the rush of the wind and the thrill of the ride. It's by chance that he meets a fellow biker on a solo ride, and the two of them get along a little too well. Everything is great until Iwaizumi discovers Semi Eita is a member of Shiratorizawa, a rival biker gang that he has been conditioned to despise. They agree it's in their best interest to stop seeing each other before anyone discovers the affair. As it turns out, that's easier said than done
Another pairing where I say, how the FUCK did someone come up with this? And yet. AND YET it works. Like so well
Afterparty <3<3
Word count: 4,961
Rating: Explicit
Status: Completed; chapters 1/1
Summary: Semi hadn't planned to be here, on his knees in the low light of his apartment, with his mouth full of a stranger's cock. He hadn't planned it, but things had escalated, and it was all Semi's fault. He blamed the show. The atmosphere had been electric, addictive. The crowd was loud, his band's performance had been flawless, and Semi had sang better than he'd ever sang before. It had left him with a particular sort of high. He was flying, and when he left the stage, he'd flown right into Iwaizumi Hajime. "Remember what I said to you at the venue?" asked Semi, his voice low, raspy. "I said I want you to hold me down and fuck me until I beg you to stop."
Seriously just incredible chemistry all around like hello???
Okay okay okay this is the LAST fic on my master list! We are really finished. For now, at least. I’m not a huge fanfiction reader anymore but on the occasions I find a new one I like I will add it here! I really hope that I’ve been able to help at least one person broaden their haikyuu horizons then this will all be worth it :)

Crystal has a WPW episode at the shop plus karaoke night and more flirting!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Hello? Earth to Crys! Come on, let’s go, we have people needing to be caffeinated!” Raeyes called out as she snapped her fingers in front of Crystal’s tired eyes. “Is everything all right? You’re more out of it than usual…”
“Oh, yes, sorry, I just didn’t get much sleep last night, the coffee should kick in soon I hope,” she told her before getting started on the next ticket in line.
“You know you shouldn’t be drinking caffeine,” Raeyes scolded with a light tap on Crystal’s wrist.
“I know, I know, but I got desperate when I could barely open my eyes this morning,” she replied, stifling a yawn as she grabbed the requested pastry out of the case.
“Long night at the gym?” Raeyes asked as she began working on the customer’s drink.
That phrase had turned into their code so they could talk freely about what Crystal did at night without anyone prying about what they were discussing. With this in mind, she replied, “Yeah, we made some good progress last night. I’m hoping we’ll be done soon because it’s wearing on me.”
“Yeah, I know, you need to take it easy, Crys, I’m worried about you…” Raeyes told her, her tone of voice soft.
“I’ll be fine, just give it a few more weeks,” Crystal replied, stifling another yawn.
“Okay, you need to not be handling hot liquids right now, take over orders,” Raeyes told her sternly as she guided her to the register right as the bell over the door chimed. She looked over and smirked, telling Crystal, “And would you look at that, your favorite regular is here.”
“Oh piss off,” Crystal replied with a laugh before greeting Matt, Karen, and Foggy. “Court today?” she asked, noticing the multitude of papers in Karen’s arms.
“Yes, so extra shots of espresso for all of us,” she replied before heading to a nearby table to relieve herself of the load in her arms.
“Regular order otherwise?” she asked, finally taking a glance over to Matt, who looked nearly as exhausted as she was.
“That would be great, thank you,” he told her with a small smile.
“Everything all right? You seem exhausted,” she pointed out before she could stop herself. She covered her mouth in shock before blurting out, “I am so sorry that was an incredibly invasive question I- forget I said anything, and uh…coffee is on me today.”
The awkward moment seemed to perk Matt up, evidenced by his usual wide smile making its way onto his lips in response. He chuckled before telling her, “Don’t worry about that, thank you for asking though. I just had a long night preparing for this case.”
“Well I’m sure you’ll do amazing, all of you,” she said, throwing a smile in Foggy’s direction.
“In part thanks to the caffeine and pastries,” Foggy said brightly before he paid for the order and the two walked off to sit with Karen at their usual table.
When there was a lull in customers a few minutes later, Crystal and Raeyes stepped back to examine the coffee bar and decide what needed restocking. Once determining that they were in desperate need of mocha chips, Crystal looked up at the high shelf the jar was sitting on and asked, “Remind me why we still don’t have a bloody step stool after the last one broke?”
“Because of shipping delays,” Raeyes replied with a roll of her eyes. She sighed before asking, “Why did Carlos have to call in today of all days when we only have short people working?”
“Because of Murphy’s Law…” Crystal replied before grabbing a rag to begin cleaning off tables.
The rag was quickly snatched away from her hands before Raeyes said, “I’ll clean the tables, you jump up and get the chips. You’re the one who works out. I believe in you!”
“Thanks for the vote of confidence I guess.” She sighed before looking up at the chips with determination in her tired eyes.
Forcing aside the temptation to use her abilities to knock down the jar somehow, Crystal jumped up and snatched the mocha chips off the shelf, a sense of victory filling her chest. As she landed though, she felt her heart give an irregular stutter and a feeling of breathlessness filled her chest in its stead. “Shit…” she whispered as she dropped the jar to the ground with a loud clatter, leaning onto the counter for balance.
Heat felt like it was engulfing her entire body and black was threatening to encase her vision as she tried to make her way to a chair to sit down. Before she could make it there though, her knees buckled under her weight and she fell to the ground. Using what remained of her strength, she forced herself to lean her back against the counter.
“Crys!” she heard Raeyes’s voice through what felt like cotton in her ears. Within seconds she felt her friend’s presence beside her and then felt her fingers gently tapping her cheek to rouse her. “Come on Crys, deep breaths…” Raeyes mumbled, her voice steady despite what was happening. Unfortunately, it had become all too routine lately for her roommate to get her out of these episodes…
Another voice joined Raeyes’s that Crystal recognized as Karen asking, “Is she okay? What’s going on?”
“Should we call 911?” Foggy asked, panic evident in his voice.
“No hospital…” Crystal managed to whisper in response, slightly shaking her head in protest.
“I know, I know, no hospital,” Raeyes told her gently. “Karen, get me a straw.”
“A straw?”
“Yes, a straw! Hurry!” Raeyes pleaded as she held Crystal’s shaking hand.
Crystal could hear rustling nearby before the straw was being presented to her mouth by Raeyes. On instinct, Crystal blew into the straw and within a few seconds she could feel her heart kick back into a normal rhythm. She took the straw out of her mouth and leaned her head against the counter as she took a few more deep breaths to calm herself.
A few seconds of silence passed before Raeyes asked, “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, I…uh… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to cause a scene…” Crystal whispered, heat creeping up her neck knowing that Matt, Foggy, and Karen were right there beside her on the floor, Matt’s dark lenses trained oddly accurately at where her heart sat in her chest.
“What happened? Why’d you collapse?” Foggy asked, concern laced in his voice.
“It’s nothing, just a heart problem I have…” Crystal replied as she stood up on shaking legs, still keeping her hand on the counter for support.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Raeyes asked quietly. “These episodes have been happening a lot more lately, I’m worried about you…”
“I… I know it’s not my place, but maybe you should go see a doctor…” Karen offered tentatively, taking a glance over to Matt whose face had concern written all over it as his lenses continued to be trained on where Crystal’s heart sat in her chest.
Crystal instantly shook her head and replied, “It’s just something I have to live with. I’ve been dealing with this since I was a kid, I can handle it. I appreciate the concern, but…” As she trailed off, the bell above the door rang and she told them, “Duty calls. Good luck on the court case today.”
She picked up the jar of mocha chips and placed them on the counter where they belonged before attending to the customer who just walked in, ignoring the conversation Raeyes was having with the group just outside of earshot.
Tumblr media
Later that evening after getting off from a double, Crystal immediately went into the shower to clean off the day’s sweat and coffee scent. When she emerged and changed into pyjamas, reassuring Raeyes once again that she was fine, she finally got comfortable on the couch before checking the notification center of her phone. What greeted her was a text from an unknown number that caused her to cock an eyebrow in confusion.
Unknown at 6:26: Hey Crystal. This may be a little unprecedented, but I just wanted to check in on you after this morning at the shop. Make sure you’re okay.
Unknown at 6:28: This is Matt by the way, I believe Raeyes wrote your number on a napkin with a winking face today when she made our drinks.
“Raeyes!” Crystal called into the relative silence of the flat, causing her roommate to come running from her room, half of her hair curled and wearing a look of concern on her face. “Did you give Matt my number?!”
Relief instantly flooded Raeyes's face as a mischievous smile made its way onto it instead. She sighed in her relief before saying, “Yes, yes I did. I was tired of watching the two of you pine after each other without anything happening so I gave him your number when I took them their order this morning! I think what you’re trying to say is, ‘Thank you Rae, you’re the best wingwoman ever!’” She gasped dramatically before throwing herself on the couch beside Crystal, asking, “Did he text you? Did he ask you out to celebrate their win in court?! Tell me!!”
“He texted me yeah, but not asking me out. He’s asking about the near heart attack I had this morning…” Crystal muttered, showing her the text. She groaned as she leaned her head back against the couch, saying, “That was so embarrassing, why did that have to happen in front of him…? He didn’t even say anything when it happened… If he was interested, I’m sure he isn’t now knowing how messed up I-”
“Don’t you dare finish that sentence. I don’t know how many times I have to tell you that just because your heart is messed up doesn’t mean you are messed up,” Raeyes said sternly. “I’m sure he just wasn’t sure how to react. And he’s texting you about it now, so you just need to text him back and see where this goes. I’ll be in my room finishing getting ready for my date tonight, but if you need your wingwoman, just call, okay? You got this.”
“Thanks Rae…” Crystal whispered, trying to push her doubt aside as she finally looked back at the messages from Matt.
Me at 7:23: Hey Matt, thanks for checking in on me. It doesn’t usually get that bad, but I’m doing a lot better now that I can rest. Sorry if I delayed you guys getting to court on time this morning.
Matt Murdock at 7:36: Don’t apologize for a disability, you can’t help it. I’m glad to hear you’re doing better. May I ask what happened?
Me at 7:38: Oh, I have this condition called Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome. Long story short it causes an arrhythmia in my heart and today that episode was triggered by a perfect storm of bad ideas haha.
Me at 7:39: I had a long night and didn’t sleep much so I had a small cup of coffee before the shift started and I really shouldn’t have done that because caffeine is just about the worst thing I can have with this condition.
Cringing at her oversharing, Crystal got up from the couch and threw the phone into the cushions as she made her way to the kitchen to find something to eat for dinner to distract herself from how much she was embarrassing herself. Within a few seconds, Raeyes emerged dressed for her date, asking, “So?”
“You look great, as usual,” Crystal replied off-handedly as she paced the kitchen.
“No, not that! How’s texting Matt going?” she asked with a laugh.
“I just started word-vomiting about my condition and I feel like I completely embarrassed myself…” Crystal muttered, running a hand through her hair.
“Oh honey, no, I bet you didn’t,” Raeyes said, wrapping her in a quick hug.
“Then why do I feel like I just don’t have a filter around him lately and that it’s messing up everything?” she asked, a sigh of frustration leaving her mouth.
“If it was messing everything up then he wouldn’t be texting you,” Raeyes said while heading over to the couch to retrieve the device. As she handed it back to Crystal, she said, “Now when I come back tonight I want to know what happens in the rest of this conversation. And I expect there to be a date to come out of this!”
“Don’t get your hopes too high,” Crystal said with a playful roll of her eyes as she closed the door behind Raeyes before looking back at her phone to see that Matt had responded.
Matt Murdock at 7:43: Wow, working at a coffee shop and you can’t even drink the product? I’m even more impressed with you now.
Matt Murdock at 7:45: On a more serious note though, I am glad you’re okay.
Me at 7:47: That means a lot, thank you Matt.
Matt Murdock at 7:54: Well we’re heading to Josie’s soon, how do you feel about meeting us to celebrate our win today? If I remember correctly, you said you’re looking forward to the next time when I walked you home after Josie’s before.
A furious blush made its way onto her cheeks at the vague memory of the night as she debated on how to respond to the text. With shaking hands, she finally decided to reply after a few minutes.
Me at 8:00: Oh if I wouldn’t be intruding…
Matt Murdock at 8:01: Never. I look forward to it.
With shaking hands, Crystal placed the phone on the counter as she let out a quiet squeal of delight at the text. It had been so long since she had felt the rush of texting someone she fancied and it was honestly exhilarating. After quickly eating the rest of her leftovers, Crystal got dressed into something decently nice to meet the group, knowing that it wasn’t a date, but still wanting to feel confident.
Tumblr media
A few nights later Crystal and Raeyes got dressed before heading out to Stardust for karaoke night – the first one they were planning on participating in rather than hosting. The previous morning, Crystal had boldly invited Matt and his friends to join them for the evening, but as the time got closer, her nerves started to settle in.
“God, why did I invite him? I wasn’t thinking, I just-” Crystal rambled on as she adjusted her necklace for the fifth time.
“Crys! Crystal! Take a breath!” Raeyes shouted with a laugh, steadying her friend by firmly grabbing her shoulders. Once she stopped talking, Raeyes said, “For real, what’s there to worry about? You had a great night at Josie’s with them the other night, you and Matt have been talking on the phone a lot more, what is worrying you?”
Not really having an answer, Crystal sighed and admitted, “I guess it’s just nerves…”
“Well that’s nothing a few glasses of rosé can’t fix!” Raeyes said excitedly as she grabbed Crystal’s hand to guide her out their flat door. “If we get there before them we can totally pregame a little bit and you’ll be fine by the time he gets there!”
“I hope you’re right…” Crystal mumbled as she followed her friend out into the night.
As it turned out, Raeyes was right. After getting there before the group of Matt, Karen, Foggy, and Marci showed up, Crystal drank nearly two glasses of rosé and was starting to feel more confident in herself. Her confidence only grew when Karen and Marci joined her and Raeyes in matching each other glass for glass as people began taking the stage to poorly sing karaoke music.
“Come on you three, I have a great song idea!” Crystal said with a giggle as she grabbed Karen and Raeyes’s hands and began dragging them away from their table and toward where Carlos was manning the computer for the evening.
From there, Crystal took a mic and the four of them went into a high energy performance of Wannabe by the Spice Girls, all four laughing together as they made their way back to the table with Matt and Foggy. As they returned, they were met with slow clapping from Foggy, who told them, “What a performance ladies!”
“Why thank you, Foggy Bear,” Marci told him before pulling him in for a kiss.
Karen laughed before saying to Crystal, “You know, I am impressed you were able to sing all of Mel B’s lines considering you’re, what? Over a bottle in?”
“Never question my love for the Spice Girls!” Crystal said with a giggle as she went to take her place standing next to Matt once again at the tall table.
As she did though, she tripped over her boots and ended up stumbling into Matt. His arms quickly reached out and caught her, chuckling as he quietly told her, “We seem to end up like this a lot.”
“Sorry, I, uh-” she started to stutter out as she stood once more.
“Don’t apologize,” Matt whispered as he snaked his arm around her waist discreetly, his hand landing on her hip. “I quite enjoyed your song choice,” he told her, his hand squeezing her hip.
“I…I was hoping you would,” she whispered back breathlessly, her filter no longer functioning.
“I suppose then once you two sober up, there may be a conversation that needs to happen with Raeyes?” Matt asked with a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
“I, uh-” Crystal tried to respond, but was interrupted by Raeyes grabbing her hand and dragging her toward the counter to get more drinks with the girls, the conversation dropping there, but the tension in the air not leaving for the rest of the night.

———
Waking up 5 days a week from this stupid alarm is killing me, but duty calls and as a college professor, but it’s Monday and I don’t wanna deal with angry somewhat adults. After a lot of arguments with myself I finally get up and get ready.
First jumping into my shower washing any sleep away from me before washing my face and brushing my teeth, once I get out of the shower I wrap a towel around me before putting moisturiser on my face and other parts of my body before finally picking out what I should wear and decided to go with a simple summer dress and some cute heeled flats once happy I let my hair hang loosely down my back and put some perfume.
I checked over myself a couple of times before smiling to myself, grabbing my keys and heading out the door to my car and driving to the school making a quick stop at the local coffee shop to get a nice warm beverage.
Once I parked my car I was headed straight to my classroom until a familiar voice called my name. “Y/n- wait, how the fuck do you walk so fast!” I turn to see the one and only Abby Anderson I give her a smile that she returns finally catching up with me. “Hello, abby, how are you on this fine morning?” I ask moving closer to her so our arms are touching.
She looks down at me with a blush before smiling. “Better now that I get to see you,” I let out a light giggle and stop walking making her do the same. “You always say that, how could I make your morning good,” I ask her. She looks at me before looking down at my hands and grabbing them. “You could make it even better,” she said shyly. “How so?”
Abby might look mean and scary but the woman is truly a sweetheart so seeing her look so nervous is the cutest thing ever to me. “Abby?” He looks at me before apologising. “Abby, babe, what’s on your mind?” She looks at me with awe before pulling a just a little bit closer. “That right there, you are so perfect, and I wanna ask you something but you have to Promise not to laugh at me.”
I look at her in all seriousness. “Babe, I would never laugh at you, only when you make those silly dad jokes.” I reassured the taller woman with a smile. She smiles before whispering a few okays. “Okay, so, I wanted to ask you if- well- would you want to maybe- Umm, go to dinner with me?” At this point she started rambling how if I didn’t want to it was okay.
I just watch her with a smile on my face before she started apologising and was about to walk away, I pulled her arm making her look at me for a second before gently putting my hand on her jaw before pulling her face towards mine, she quickly takes over by grabbing my waist and putting her lips onto mine, it was gentle but a little rough at the same time it was nice.
I’m not sure how long we had been in that position but next thing we new i group of round 8 kids started cheering I quickly turn we see them while turning a deep shade of red “ you owe me 15 bucks jack,” Delilah said laughing at the boy, before we new it they were all trading cards, money god even fucking lipglosses with each other.
I turn to Abby my horrified face looking at her smug one. “D- did you know they were getting on us?” I ask with my jaw wide open. She looked at my face and chuckled. “Yep, even some of the stuff made their bets as well.”
Looking back it still makes us laugh I’m so great full to have met a great woman that soon turned into my wife before the mother of our children, I wouldn’t want it any other way I love her and nothing will ever change that.

Trip to New Zealand - South Island.
After some (?) complications we finally were excited to travel to New Zealand. Our flight was one-stop flight, so we went from KL to Sydney and then from  Sydney to Queenstown. Enjoyed interacting with Sydney immigration officer, loved their accent. Surprisingly, no-one asked for transit visa in AUS nor even NZ visa when entering their country. Maybe they already have it in their record against our passport details. The view in Sydney to Queenstown flight was amazing. The sight of Remarkables mountain is breath taking.
Tumblr media
It was summer in NZ and the first day sun set around 9.30 pm. It was very bright till that time. We had already booked car from Yes rentals.  They came for pickup at the airport and take us to their showroom. Completed formalities and drove away the car. After reaching to our destination, we unloaded our luggage and went for some Grocery shopping. The place where we were staying was a secluded area but at the same time the view from the top was awesome. Once it went dark it was very cold at night. First day driving in NZ was challenging. Still trying to understand the roads signs and rules.
DAY 1
We woke up a bit late and mostly relaxed in the first half of the day. It was raining when we woke up and the rain continued till around 2 pm. We left the home when it was raining and roamed around in Queenstown street. It has good restaurants and places to eat. St. Omer Park was next to it. The park has nice view of Lake Wakatipu has a long trail for a walk. Ate an ice cream at Patagonia, it was very different and tasty.
Tumblr media
Brought some groceries from an Indian grocery shop and back to home.
Day 2
This was a very pleasant morning as the sun was out since morning.
Tumblr media
Today we had to reach Te Anau which was 170 km from Queenstown. The best thing with NZ is there are lot of spots on the way where you can stop and enjoy the nature. In fact, there are road signs indicating that such stops are coming up in 2 kms etc. In the morning we went to Queenstown garden,  had coffee and breakfast there and continued our journey to Te Anau. Queenstown garden is very big and we also saw rose garden. Thanks to awesome climate we could enjoy the stunning views that NZ had to offer today. Turns out Queenstown garden is at the same place where we were yesterday but it was just another end of St . Omer park. Everyone was sunbathing in the garden. Next we went to Kingston lake park which was a refresh stop and lot of caravans were parked here. Some of them from overnight stay. It had lake as well and this time we dared and stepped in the lake. The water was freezing cold. The sun was out since morning and it was around 3 pm now but the water was dangerously cold. Couldn't be in the water for more than 5 seconds. We had our lunch here under the shade of tree and took rest.  I also read couple of chapters of the book I was reading.
Tumblr media
Finally, we left for Te Anau at 4 pm and drove for an hour and half to reach here. The place that we were staying in Te anau was a quite neighborhood but it was so beautiful. As soon as we reached our stay we took a cup of coffee and straight went out for a walk to explore the neighborhood. Everyone had their own simple home with garden of its own and it was very beautiful. I mean in our 30-40 mins of strolling outside we only saw one old lady who had came out for walk. Didn't saw any other human on the road there. It was very empty but we loved it.
Tumblr media
Day 3
Milford sound is 120 kms from Te Anau. Lot of people drive directly from Queenstown to Milford sound and back on the same day. However, we didn't want to over exert ourselves so we took a stop at Te Anau. Te Anau is also last town before Milford Sound. We left at 10 am for Milford sound and on the way there are many photo stops and beautiful places. It was very difficult to resist and not stop for them. For many stops we said that we will wait here while coming back but few of them were too beautiful to resist. After couple of stops we did realize that we were getting late so decided to wait for them while coming back. The good thing about visiting NZ in summer is that there is visible sunlight till 9-9.30 pm so we do get good amount of time to be outside. Milford sound was a cruise ride to different waterfalls and mountain views.
It was very windy and the temperatures was very low. We went to the uppermost deck however, after 30 mins or so it became unbearably cold so we went down in the closed area of the ship. They serve coffee and some snacks on board which is paid of course. The tour lasts for 2 hours however, I was not too impressed by it. It costs us 145 NZD per person which also seemed super expensive. The only good part about going to Milford is as I mentioned all the scenic spots on the way where you can stop for toilet, relaxation and some photos.
Day 4
We left from Te anau and our next destination for night was Fairlie which was around 500km. This was going to be longest drive of our trip. As Queenstown was on the way we decided to have lunch there as we were aware about the restaurants there from day 1. Parking however can be a problem near Queenstown street. We took multiple breaks on the way. We had a booking at Tekapo springs near lake Tekapo. It had stargazing and hot pools experience combined. However, our booking was at 11.30pm.  Since in summer the sun sets late, only available slot were 10.30 and 11.30 pm. 10.30 pm was fully booked so we had to take 11.30pm slot even when we did the booking in advance. Star gazing was okayish , you could see lot of stars with naked eye itself. After the sun set, there were so many stars visible in the sky. Haven't seen sky so full of stars in a very long time. We expected a detailed view of some of stars through telescope in star gazing experience however, we were disappointed as the view was not as our expectation. The host was not very engaging as well as she only spoke about the things that she had memorized. Space is such an interesting topic , I tried to ask her one question but she did not answer it so I stopped those questions. We skipped hot springs as we were super tired by the drive and it was already 12.30 am. We were not willing to wait another hour and then drive back home at 1.30 am. Fairlie was around 50 km from lake Tekapo and it had become super chilly and windy at night when we were leaving. It was impossible to be outside. The drive was scary as well because it was pitch black and there were hardly any cars in the road at 1 o'clock. The only light that we could see was of our headlight. No lights in the front or back.
Day 5
It was super relaxed as we had came late at night from lake tekapo. We left home after lunch at 2 pm. Went to Good shepherd church as it is one of the places to visit when nearby.
Tumblr media
Later, we went down straight to lake Tekapo to sit at the shore. Yesterday, although we were at the same place but couldn't spend time near the lake. A warning was issued that it is going to be windy today and so it was super windy wherever we went. We just had a nice cup of coffee there.
Tumblr media
For later part of the evening we rested mostly. Watched a movie on Netflix while preparing dinner and eating it.
Day 6
Drove from Fairlie to Christchurch. Surprisingly, there was nothing much to do on the way unlike what we had experienced till now. The route not scenic as well. I think we are already spoiled by NZ in the first week itself expecting everything to be scenic all the time :P. After reaching Christchurch, we went to Hagley North park,  had lunch there on park bench. Checked in to our home,  had some rest and went for grocery shopping. We mostly prepared and ate our food at home itself, so grocery shopping was a big task wherever we went. First impression of Christchurch not too great. Too many traffic signals on the road, reminded me of Singapore where it was the same. Maybe it was because this was a big city. Saw some indiscipline on road for the first time in NZ from the locals. Otherwise till now, be it driving or pedestrians on the road everyone followed traffic rules. No place to park in the city. We went to new Regent Street where we had high expectations but it wasn't lively. Maybe we went at the wrong time of the day.
Day 7
When researching about things to do in Christchurch everyone suggested Tram and Punting on the Avon River. Both of the things we were not interested in. It didn't leave us with much options and we had 3 days here. Went to Quake city which is a museum about history of earthquakes in Christchurch. Christchurch is high earthquake prone zone and gets a lot of earthquakes. The one on 22 Feb 2011 was a major one where 175 people lost their lives. This museum shares the stories of the people , the people who experienced it first hand. It shares the science behind earthquakes and has some fun experiments related to it. Ticket was 20$ per person. After that, we visited Botanical garden and saw some wonderful flowers there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, at the end we went out to nearby beach. It was 15 kms from city center so close to Christchurch and there was literally no one on the beach. It was completely empty.  It was windy and we were surprised to know that no one was at this beautiful beach so close to the city. Anyway, that worked out good for us.
Day 8
We were going to spend one more day in Christchurch. First, we went for shopping in Central city area. Had food in Riverside Market. Then we spent some time playing with the birds in the Avon river and then went to 2$ thrift shop where there were things (mostly clothes ) starting from 2$. I bought myself couple of novels to read for 2$ each.
Day 9
Finally, left from Christchurch,  visited Racaia George. The water was beautiful and blue.
Tumblr media
We loved our time there. This was one of the most recommended place but still it wasn't over crowded. I think there were around 20-25 people when we were there.
Tumblr media
We spent rest of the evening at Fables which was a lovely place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the entire trip we had booked AirBnB's but this was only an exception. It was a lovely hotel with a very big landscape. It was very huge and view from the room was very beautiful.
Tumblr media
After dinner we sat outside drinking coffee at the sunset and playing nice romantic music in the background.
Day 10
We did breakfast at the hotel and left for Hoktika. It was very windy today since morning. Hoktika was 250 kms from the hotel and the road was challenging. Steep ghats and turns along with wind and rain made the journey even more challenging. It rained the whole day without a break. Apparently,  it was a wet day is what our host said after reaching their place.
Day 11
We didn't do much yesterday after reaching hoktika since it was raining the entire evening. In the morning we checked out and went to nearby Grocery store to buy some essentials. After that we went to Hoktika beach where the waves were very strong. Maybe it was because of the wind or geography of Hokitika.
Tumblr media
After strolling there for a bit we went to nearby cafe which was surprisingly very full. Had some sandwiches and coffee there. Roamed around the street, visited few shops and bought some clothes as they were on discount. In the afternoon we left for Fox Glacier and did wait for couple of stops on the way.
Tumblr media
Day 12
Our main activity for the day in Fox Glacier got postponed. We had booked snow landing in glacier with helicopter ride. However, there was a very high cloud cover today affecting the visibility so it was not possible to do this today. We had one more day in Fox glacier so we were going to try again tomorrow. Later we went to lake Matheson which had a beautiful reflection point.
Tumblr media
It was an easy walk and had different points to visit. Later on, we strolled near the town Centre.
Day 13
The day started with another bad news that the weather is not clear today as well and there are lot of cloud cover near the landing area. This was strange since it was sunny today and the climate was much better than yesterday. The good thing about this glacier landing we were going to get refund if the flight was cancelled. We saw few other companies still taking people on rides, it was only our operator who said that it was cancelled. We enquired at them and they had one flight available. It was expensive 330$ per person. The one that we had booked was for 250$ doing the same thing. After thinking for a while we decided to book it. They took us to a helipad nearby which was a 5 mins drive and then the helicopter flight was around 10 mins. The glacier was a very close spot. They land on the glacier and we spend around 10 mins there for photos. As it was sunny today, the snow was reflecting very brightly.
Tumblr media
The pilot mentioned that it is 14km glacier which is present all the year around. Lucky for us we were also sitting in the front along with the pilot. In one helicopter ride there are 6 people, 2 in the front and 4 at the back. 330 seems expensive for the short 30 mins flight but it is the tourist season now, so no regrets. After that we were driving to Wanaka today. It was 280 kms drive and we had nice stops this time on the way. We reached Wanaka at around 5.30 pm after taking 4-5 stops.
Tumblr media
Went out for lunner (lunch/dinner) and came back to home. We were very tired from the ride and slept very early today.
Day 14
Left home after breakfast and went to lavender farm. Beautiful flowers and landscape. However,  entry there is not free. It costs 15$ per person. Spent the afternoon there, clicked some nice pictures , came home and did lunch.
Tumblr media
Went out for some shopping in town centre and visited wanaka lake which is in town center as well. Roamed around the shops there. Had dinner at a nice restaurant and came back to home.
Day 15.
Today we had to drive from Wanaka to Queenstown. After checkout we want to #thatWanakaTree and had nice breakfast at Dougbin bakery before leaving for Queenstown.
Tumblr media
It was a nice 70 kms drive which we completed in little more than hour. This was the last place of our stay. My wife was not feeling well so we mostly stayed in the apartment for today.
Day 16
Today the only thing to do in our agenda was shopping. We had to buy Souvenir for friends and family back home.
Day 17
After checkout out had some time so went out to have ice cream at patagonia and gave back the car at Yes rentals and they dropped us to the airport. However, it did not end there :(
Looking back at the entire here are some reflection points.
Things we did well -
1. Self managed everything. I was a bit skeptical about this but it was the best decision. We could tailor made itinerary for us. We had enquired with some tour organizers however, we decided to do it on our own. Yes, it was not 100% successful but still the houses we stayed in, routes we followed were specially made for us keeping our likes and dislikes in mind by us. 2. Self drive. Before coming to NZ, I must have drove car for around 200 kms, my lifetime total. Whereas in NZ, I drove for 2300 kms here but the kind of flexibility it provided was amazing. Couldn't imagine doing this via tour or a dedicated driver as well. Btw, having a dedicated driver is twice as expensive. 3. Travelling in February instead of August. Previously, we were planning to travel to NZ in August for my wife's birthday. However, it is winter during that time and things are unreliable. Roads are closed due to snow, weather changes frequently. You need to check the road condition before leaving for every trip. Additionally, the days are shorter where sun sets much earlier.
Things we'll do differently next time -
1. Reduce duration of trip. There were days when we were bored and didn't have much to do. NZ is very expensive as well, so everyday you stay adds an additional expense to your pocket. 2. Include insect repellent. It is nice to visit in summer in nature but while being in nature also brings lots of insects that bite. It would be much better if you have an insect repellent with you. 3. Don't include overnight activities especially when we have full day travel. The stargazing experience in lake tekapo taught us that.
Few things that are special to NZ - 1. Except within the city in Christchurch and some parts of Queenstown everything in NZ is a single lane road. More than 90% of road that we drove on was single lane. 2. NZ is home to all modes of transportation. Hiking,  walking,  cycling,  biking, car driving,  RV's and campervans. 3. Very common to see people jog at any time of the day. 7 am, 2 pm, 12 pm. Seen people jogging/running at any time. 4. Made in NZ products mostly throughout the country. Be it shampoo, detergent, ketchup, spices most of the ones that we picked up from grocery was made in NZ. 5. Abundant parking wherever we went. Abundant seating places. There was never an issue for them. I think less population in NZ makes it possible to do it. 6. 10 am check out everywhere in NZ. 10 am seems too early but I guess this is the standard they have. Although, check-out is early but check in is still at normal time i.e 2pm or 3pm. 7. Viewpoints at every highway. I have mentioned this multiple times but if you are travelling from point A to point B, there are going to be multiple stops on the way for you to appreciate the beauty of NZ. 8. Every town/village has town center which is a central place where you can find everything.
I hope you enjoyed this trip to NZ with us. Here are some final few photos from NZ.

8, 10, and 12 for the questions for fic writers game? 🤍
Hi! Thansk for the questions ♥ 10 is excellent and I replied already here ;)
8. What song would make a great fic (to either write or read)?
Many? I went through 2 000 songs on Spotify and struggled to make up my mind. I think thematically I’d go with Never be a Right Time by Tom Grennan or broken by lovelytheband?
Lyrics-wise maybe Danger by Highlight because one line goes “I’m rejecting rejection” and it really cheered my up one day (although in context I guess it’s not so great haha, I meant like for jobs and dreams, not consent xD) or The Dilemma by You Me At Six because I just love the story in the song xD
And like something that gives great visuals but I’d never do what to make with it: Take What You Want by ONE OK ROCK and 5 Seconds of Summer or Experience by Ludovico Einaudi.
12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?
I stumbled onto A/B/O fics when I was NOT ready to interact with this verse and avoided it like the plague until 2020 haha, but now I really find omegaverse interesting and wrote some myself!
I also wasn’t the biggest fan of coffee shop AUs at first but they’ve grown on me ^^
Thanks for the questions, find more here!

Holiday Series - Luke
Tumblr media
[Michael] [Calum] [Ashton]
Pairing: Luke Hemmings/ Female OC
Requested By: N/A
Word Count: 3,974
Summary: Coffee shop AU in which barista Luke get stuck working on Christmas.
Luke sighed as he checked the time on his watch. 8:42 am. Less than an hour into his shift and he was seriously contemplating closing up and telling his boss where to shove it. But he couldn’t do that, and he knew it. As much as this job sucked, it was the only one he could find in the city that allowed him enough time off to travel back home a few times a year, so he needed to keep it.
He picked up an old blue rag and began to wipe down an espresso machine when the bell above the door chimed. The cheerful sound signaled to Luke the first customer of the day. He looked up to the door and saw a girl walking through it, a few stray snowflakes following her inside before she was able to close the door behind her.
Her shoulder length brown hair was contained beneath a grey beanie that matched the scarf that she held tightly around her neck. Luke watched her shiver slightly as she stood in front of the closed door, the heat of the coffee shop warming her from the Christmas snow storm that had been raging outside since the night before. Her eyes closed for a moment as she took a deep breath before slowly unwrapping the scarf around her neck and removing it.
She opened her eyes and directed her attention to Luke behind the counter. He felt his breath catch in his throat as she smiled at him from across the room. She pulled off her black mittens, shoving them into the pocket of her coat as she made her way to the counter. Luke suddenly became very aware of the coffee stain on his blue apron and the fact that he’d barely put any effort into getting ready this morning. He ran a hand through his long, blond curls in an attempt to tame them, even though he knew that they always had a mind of their own.
“Morning.” Luke offered with a smile as she got closer to him. Her own smile grew as she greeted him in kind.
“Good morning!” Her voice was soft and sweet, almost like a song in a way that Luke couldn’t quite put his finger on. “You have no idea how glad I am that you’re open today.” She sighed, pulling her wallet from the bag slung over her shoulder.
“Yeah, I guess someone needs to keep the people caffeinated, even on Christmas.” Luke laughed. She giggled along with him, the corners of her lips pulling up just slightly more than they already were. He couldn’t help but to notice that her giggle was somehow even prettier than her speaking voice. The way it fell so easily from her lips made him want to hear it over and over again. “So, uh, what can I get ya?” He asked, his hands gripping the sides of the register a little too tight.
“Uh, just a venti latte, please.” She answered, looking away from him to the wallet in her hand. He rang in her order and read out her total. He pulled his hand away from hers quickly, nearly dropped her money when she handed it to him. She smiled at him again as he handed her change back to her.
“And a name?” Luke asked her, picking up a cup and pulling a marker from the pocket of his apron.
She looked over her shoulder to the empty coffee shop with another giggle. “Are you afraid you’re gonna give it to the wrong person?” She asked, raising her eyebrows as she faced him again.
He felt his cheeks go warm at her question. A small chuckle fell from his lips as he dropped his chin to his chest. “Sorry,” He said. “It’s a habit.”
“It’s fine.” She told him, waving her hand. “It’s Ariel.”
Fuck, even her name is pretty. Luke smiled to himself as he jotted her name on the side of the paper cup. She removed her beanie, running a hand through her hair as she walked to the other end of the counter.
“So, how’d you get stuck working Christmas?” She asked him, leaning over the counter and resting on her elbows as she watched him prepare her drink.
Luke shrugged his broad shoulders, not looking up from his task as he answered. “I usually end up working holidays because I don’t have any family here in the states to spend them with.”
Ariel put a hand over her heart as she pouted her lips. “Oh my, that is so sad.” She sighed. “I mean, my family is far away, too. But I can usually get back to visit them for holidays.”
“Are you from out of town?”
“Oh, yeah.” She laughed. “A tiny little town near Boston.”
Luke hadn’t been expecting that. He finished her drink, capping it before sliding it across the counter to her waiting hands. “So why aren't you there for Christmas?”
This time, it was her turn to shrug. “I'm, like, extra poor this year.” Luke raised his eyebrows as he nodded, that was definitely a struggle that he understood. “Plus, I'm Jewish.”
“Mazel tov!” Luke exclaimed, throwing his hands up next to his face.
Ariel dropped her face, looking down at the paper cup in her hands as she laughed out loud. “Do you even know what that means?” She questioned when she looked back up at him.
“I, uhh…” Luke stammered for a moment, fiddling with the edge of his apron before answering with a giggle. “No, I don't.”
She laughed again at his answer. Her lips pulling up high on her cheeks, showing off her teeth as she smiled up at him. The sound filled Lukes ears and he felt his chest swell with pride that he was able to pull such a beautiful sound from her.
“So how’d you end up in Chicago?” Luke asked once her laugh had subsided.
“School, originally. Ended up dropping out, though.” She answered with a smile. “How about you?”
“Oh, I wanted to be in a band. It wasn’t working out back home, so I packed up and moved here a few years ago. I was completely convinced I’d go back a home a rockstar.” He finished, laughing at himself and his own naivety.
“I take it the band thing didn’t work out?”
“Kind of did for a while, actually.”
“So what happened? Why aren’t you a rockstar?” She asked him as she stood up straight.
“Egos.” He answered simply. “Mine and theirs. They’re still great guys, we just didn’t get on well.”
Ariel nodded, bringing her cup to her lips. Luke watched as she cautiously sipped the hot drink. Her eyes fell closed again and Luke took a moment to appreciate the way the lights in the shop caught the slight shimmer in her nude eyeshadow.
“Well, at least you’re still young.” She told him as she pulled the cup away from her lips, taking a step back from the counter. “There’s still time, rockstar.” She winked at him before turning away. Luke felt his stomach tie itself into about fifteen different knots at the sight.
She took a few steps away from him, stopping at the nearest table and setting her drink down. She began to shrug her coat from her shoulders, revealing an emerald green sweater that hugged her frame beautifully. “Mind if I hang out here for a bit?” She asked. “It’s like the end of the world out there.”
“Fine by me.” Luke answered with a smile. She hung her coat on the rack by the door and sat down at her table, pulling a book from her bag and opening it. The pair were silent for a while. Nothing but the sounds of people outside, snow crunching beneath boots, and the playlist of Christmas songs playing on the speakers around the coffee shop.
The silence was somehow comfortable and unbearably awkward all at once. At least, that was how it felt from Luke’s point of view. Ariel sat at her table, her legs crossed beneath it as she read her book and sipped at her coffee. Since he was on the clock, Luke was trying to find something to fill his time on the off chance that his boss made an appearance. He picked up a broom from the back room and walked into the shop.
“Is this your way of telling me to beat it?” Ariel asked with a smile when he started to sweep up.
“What? No, of course not.” Luke stammered. Why was he so eager for her to stay? He didn’t know her. Hell, they’d barely even spoken since she walked in half an hour ago. “Just, uh, trying to keep busy.”
“Ya know, if you wanted to take a break, I promise I won’t tell on you.”
Once again, Luke felt his cheeks heat up as she spoke to him. He smiled as he leaned the broom against a wall and walked over to where she sat. He put his hand on the back of the chair across from her. “Do you mind?”
“Not at all.” She answered. She placed her bookmark into the spine of her book before closing it and setting it down on the table between them. “I’m sorry, but I have to ask. Where is home for you? I’ve been trying to place your accent and I just can’t figure it out.”
“Australia.” He answered with a chuckle. “West Sydney, specifically.”
“Really? You don’t sound very much like Steve Irwin.”
“Ouch.” Luke whined, putting his hand over his heart and furrowing his brows.
“Sorry!” Ariel said, reaching across the table and placing her hand on his arm.
Luke’s smile quickly grew to a toothy grin as he looked down to where her hand rested delicately on his wrist. “It’s fine. Every time I go home all I hear from my family is that I need to move back because I’m getting an American accent.” Ariel laughed at him. She removed her hand from his wrist and he instantly felt less whole at the loss of her soft touch.
“I don’t know if I’d say it’s quite an American accent.” She said, picking up her cup and bringing it to her lips again. She took a long drink, licking her lips as she set the cup back on the table between them. “But then again, I never got to hear your accent before so who am I to say?”
“If you’ve ever been to Sydney, especially West Sydney, you’ll know that they definitely don’t sound like this.”
“I haven’t been. But I’d love to visit someday, when money isn’t so tight.” She sighed. “I want to see the world. All of it. Every nook and cranny of the every beautiful city the world has to offer.”
“You sound like me.” He said with a grin. “That was one reason I wanted to be in a band, actually. See the world, meet new people, experience new cultures.”
“Well, if the band thing works out, I volunteer to be your merch girl. You don’t even have to pay me.” She said with a laugh as she pushed some hair from her face. “Just take me around the world.”
“Deal.” He answered. “And hey, even if the band doesn’t work out, I’d still happily be your tour guide around Sydney when you go.”
“Well, how can I say no to being shown around a foreign country by a native?”
“I guess you can't.” He told her with a beaming grin.
Just as Ariel was about to speak again, the bell above the door chimed for a second time. Both Luke and Ariel jumped at the sudden interruption. A middle aged man in a long tan coat walked in, shutting the door quickly.
“Storm of the century out there.” The older man said as he walked to the counter. Luke stood from his seat and walked to the back of the counter to help the man. He placed his order, paid, and turned back to Ariel. “Have you been out there?” He asked her.
“Yeah, a little bit earlier. Been here about 45 minutes, though.”
Luke finished pouring his coffee, capping it and sliding it across the counter in same fashion he'd done for Ariel. The man thanked Luke and started towards the door. “If you'll take a nickel's worth of free advice, I'd stay in here as long as he will let you.” He told her, nodding his head to Luke who still stood behind the counter. “It's getting worse out there by the minute.” Ariel smiled at him and offered a silent nod as he opened the door and walked back into the storm.
“Looks like you might be stuck with me for a while, rockstar.” Ariel said as the door closed.
“Could be worse.” Luke shrugged. “At least I've got some company. Hey, you want a refill while I'm back here? On the house.”
“I will never say no to free coffee.” Ariel answered, smiling as she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear once again.
Luke returned her smile quickly before turning his attention to making her a fresh drink. He found himself being extra careful while he made it. For some reason, he was sure that if this drink wasn't exactly perfect, she'd leave before he wanted her to. And he just couldn't have that.
He finished the drink and set it in front of her, picking up her cold drink and throwing it away for her. He decided that he needed to find ways to stay busy again. He began wiping down already sparkling machinery and filling cream dispensers. The pair continued talking while Luke cleaned the entire shop.
They discussed their childhoods, laughing together at notable differences between growing up in America versus Australia. “Wait,” Ariel said, leaning forward, her eyes closing as she shook her head in an attempt to make sense of something Luke had just said. “They really feed that to children?”
“What?” Luke laughed. “It's just buttered bread with sprinkles.”
“I'm sorry, but that sounds disgusting.” She told him, laughing with him as she sat back in her seat. “I can't believe kids would even eat that.”
“Don't knock it till ya try it.”
“Fair enough. Maybe I'll pick up some sprinkles on my next shopping trip.”
A few hours passed when suddenly, Luke's stomach growled loudly from where he was on a step ladder cleaning windows. He checked his watch, it was after 1 p.m. It was definitely much later than he normally ate, but he hadn't even noticed that he was hungry. He was too preoccupied with Ariel and their conversations. Had she really been here for nearly four hours already?
“Hungry, rockstar?” Ariel laughed from her table as she looked up at him.
“Starving, apparently.”
“Good, because I am, too.” She smiled. “Are any restaurants even open today?”
“The chinese place down the street definitely is.” Luke answered. He stepped down from the step ladder and pulled his phone from the pocket of his apron. The part of his brain that never quite left high school wanted to ask Ariel for her number. He pushed the thought away and instead, opened his messages and began to text his order to Eric, the delivery boy from the restaurant. “Wait, you like Chinese, right?”
“Love it.”
Luke’s smile grew as he continued to type out his usual order. “What do you want?” He asked, finally looking up at her.
“Sesame chicken.”
“Rice?”
“Fried, please.”
Luke added her order to the end of his text before tacking on a few emojis and hitting send. “Should be 10 minutes, give or take.” He told her as he replaced his phone in his apron pocket and took his seat across the table from her.
“So,” Ariel started as he sat down. “Am I supposed to keep calling you ‘rockstar’ forever, or are you gonna tell me your name?”
“Luke.” He answered, his teeth showing as he laughed at her. “But if you want to keep calling me rockstar, I’m not going to stop you.”
“No,” She said, her smile growing. “I think I like Luke.” He would conservitavely guess that he’d heard his name approximately 800 billion times in his twenty-two years of life, but hearing Ariel say it for the first time? Easily one of the top five greatest sounds he had ever heard. Even if he’d tried, Luke wouldn’t have been able to contain the joyful grin that quickly covered his entire face.
A few minutes later the door to the coffee shop opened, bringing a huge gust of wind and a man carrying two plastic take out bags with it. Luke stood from his seat and walked towards the man, taking the bags from him and setting them in front of Ariel. He pulled his wallet from his back pocket and started to pull a few bills from it.
“Man, you know mom won’t let you pay.” The guy laughed, shoving Lukes hand away.
“It’s been like three years, she’s gotta let me pay eventually.”
“No, she likes you better than any of us. You’re good for life.” He said, laughing. His eyes swept over the shop before landing on Ariel. “I take it you’re the sesame chicken?” He asked with a smile.
“How’d ya know?”
“I’ve never known this one to get anything other than sweet and sour pork.”
“Interesting.” Ariel said, nodding her head. “I’ll have to keep that in mind.”
“Okay, okay. If we’re done discussing my diet, I’d like to eat now.” Luke commented as he pulled out his chair. “You hanging out?” He asked Eric, turning to look at him as he began to pull take out boxes from the bags.
“Can’t. Mom needs me back to run more deliveries. See ya.” He answered, taking a few steps towards the door.
“Later.”  Luke nodded, still unbagging your food as Eric stepped through the door.  “Hope you like egg rolls. Looks like Mama Kim hooked us up.” He laughed as he opened a box containing at least a dozen eggs rolls.
“Mama Kim, huh?” Ariel asked as she reached across the table to pluck an egg roll from the box.
“Yeah,” Luke laughed. “I met Eric like my second day in the states and his parents more or less adopted me. Good thing, too. I'd have starved to death if she didn't insist on sending me home with a months worth of food every other day.”
“She sounds sweet.” Ariel said with a smile.
“Yeah, she's the best.” Luke told her as he took a bite of his egg roll.
As they were finishing their lunch, Lukes phone began ringing from his apron pocket. He pushed his chair away from the table as he pulled his phone from his pocket. “It’s my boss.” He said to her, taking a few steps away from the table as he answered the call.
Ariel tried not to listen, sure that whatever the call was about was none of her business anyway. Instead, she focused her attention on cleaning up the takeout boxes that were scattered across the table. She dumped the boxes into a trash can next to the door just as Luke was hanging up his call.
“Did you get in trouble for sitting down at work all day?” She asked as she walked back over to him.
“No,” Luke laughed as he replaced his phone into his apron pocket. “He just wanted to know if we’d had any customers today. Told me to close up shop.”
Was he seeing things or did her smile actually drop a little?
“So you’re finally kicking me out, huh?”
“Well, technically my boss is making me kick both of us out.” He answered.
Ariel returned to her seat and started to pack up her bag. “It’s been really nice hanging out with you today, Luke.” She told him, smiling up at him from where she was stuffing her book into her bag.
“Yeah,” He returned her smile. “Today definitely turned out to be more fun than I thought it would be. I’m glad you came in.” He was searching every corner of his mind to find ways to make her stay just a little longer as he walked to the window to turn off the neon ‘OPEN’ sign. As he flipped the switch, the opening notes to Baby, It’s Cold Outside began to play over the shops sound system.
Ariel gasped from her seat and put her hand over her chest. Luke spun around quickly to look at her, caught off guard by the sudden sound. “I love this song.” She sighed, her eyes falling closed as she began to sway in her seat.
This is it. This was his chance and he knew he had to take it, or risk kicking himself in the ass for the rest of his life for letting it slip away. He took a few slow steps towards her, praying she would respond well to his plan. He listened to the song and grinned to himself as he watched her mouth along with the words.
I really can't stay.
This is it. This is his moment. He took a deep breath as the woman singing finished her line.
“But, baby, it’s cold outside.” He sang. His voice was quiet, too afraid of her reaction to sing much louder than a whisper. Ariel’s eyes shot open, her smile wider than it had been all day as she looked at him. He swore that her brown eyes actually glowed as she chimed in.
“I've got to go away.”
“But, baby, it’s cold outside.” He sang again, slightly louder this time as he put his hand out to her.
“This evening has been so very nice.” She sang back to him as she took his hand and stood in front of him.
“I’ll hold your hands, they’re just like ice.”
“My mother will start to worry.”
“Beautiful, what's your hurry?” Luke placed a cautious hand behind her back, just below her waist.
“My father will be pacing the floor.”
“Listen to the fireplace roar.” Her smile grew along with his as he started to move with her.
The pair spun in slow circles as they continued to sing the classic holiday tune to each other. At some point, Ariels free hand found its way to Lukes shoulder. This was working. He moved his hand to the middle of her back, pulling her into him just slightly.
Before he knew it, the song was coming to an abrupt end. He’d never realized how short of a song it actually is. The last lines of the song played, both of them singing the words to each other, and before he could stop himself, Luke was leaning in. His eyes closed as his face inched closer to hers. He hoped he looked cool, but every single alarm in his body was going off in that moment. The instant his lips met hers, though, all of them silenced.
It was a quick kiss, quicker than he would have liked. But it was beautiful. It was perfect. It was everything that Luke always thought a first kiss should have been. Luke felt her smiling as his lips landed on hers.
Luke broke the kiss, pulling away first. He opened his eyes to see her grinning up at him. A lock of her brown hair had fallen into her eyes. He moved his hand from her back to tuck the fallen piece behind her ear, earning an even wider grin from her as he rested his hand on her neck just below her ear.
“Smooth move, rockstar.” She whispered to him as she leaned forward, her lips pursing as she kissed him again.

As you can see, this is the first part of a Holiday Series! I’m really excited about all of these and I cannot wait to post all of them! Can’t wait to hear what you all think of this and the rest of the series.

I’ve Got The Recipe
Michael keeps going back to the same coffee shop and no, it has nothing to do with the cute barista.
Or 3 times Michael went to Luke's coffee shop to see him and 1 time Luke visited Michael at his job
This is for @redrattlers! Happy birthday darling! You're a sweetheart and lovely, fellow Luke fan and Muke lover. It's been a pleasure getting to know you and getting to hang out with you in The Club. I wish you the happiest of birthdays and the happiest of years! Enjoy your day you deserve it!
On ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/29146482/
It starts on a Wednesday. Michael’s bored, scrolling through his phone at the front desk, trying to avoid doing work. He knows he should go shelve some books, or do a lap around the library to check on things, but he can’t focus on anything. He’s trying to kill time until it’s acceptable for him to go on his lunch break and grab something to eat or drink.
“Oh god, I found the perfect drink for you,” Calum whispers next to him, tugging lightly on Michael’s sleeve. Michael frowns, glancing over at Calum, getting a phone shoved into his face in response. Michael pulls his head back, grabbing onto Calum’s wrist and trying to adjust it so he can see the screen better. It’s an instagram post on Calum’s feed, advertising a coffee from the local coffee shop. The caption claims that it’s a vanilla rose latte. Michael hates that Calum knows him well enough to know that Michael will 100% drink anything with floral flavors in it.
“Don’t act so disgusted,” Michael mumbles, shoving Calum’s phone back to him. Calum laughs.
“It’s just weird that you want to put florals in your coffee. It tastes like soap.”
“It does not. Stop insulting my taste,” Michael says, voice rising a little bit at the end of the sentence. He ducks his head when one of the reference librarians looks over at them. Calum raises his hand in apology, turning to face Michael.
“You like weird coffee. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. Just thought you might be interested. It’s that new place too. Down the road.”
“Is this your way of trying to bribe me into getting us sandwiches from the Vietnamese place for lunch?”
“Pretty please?” Calum says. Michael sighs, pretending to be put out.
“Fine. Text me your order. I’ll swing by. You owe me dinner though,” Michael says, standing up. Calum brightens up, smiling. Michael heads into the back, clocking out for his break and telling his supervisor he’s going to grab lunch. They nod, waving him out when Michael grabs his bag from his little station and heads out to his car. Michael calls in their lunch order from his car and decides to stop and grab coffee first on his way there.
Luckily, the coffee shop is a quick drive. Their town is small enough that everything sits within a ten minute drive of each other. It makes it easier to pop out and grab lunch on the days he’s too lazy to make it. Michael knows where the coffee shop is, even if he hasn’t been yet. It’s only been open for a few weeks and everytime he and Calum mean to go, they get distracted and go somewhere else or forget. Today though, Michael is determined to get his rose coffee from this place.
Michael parks in the lot, grabbing his wallet from his backpack and leaving his car, locking it behind him. He pushes open the coffee shop door, relieved to see it’s still empty and quiet inside, little bell over the door jingling.
A tall blonde man, pops his head out from behind the back area, grinning widely when he sees Michael.
“Hi! What can I get you today?” he asks, coming up to the counter, beaming. Michael’s offended that the barista is pretty and therefore, Michael has completely forgotten his order. It’s not his fault the guy is tall and blonde, with blue eyes and dimples, curls pulled back into a messy bun. His name tag reads Luke. Michael doesn’t stand a chance.
“Um, I saw your post. About the vanilla rose latte. Do you still have it? I know it’s been a few days.”
“Yes! You’re the first person to order it. I got these little sample bottles of different flavors, but so far no one has asked for it,” Luke says, beaming widely as he grabs the bottle and holds it up. Michael blushes.
“Well, I’m your guy. My friend teases me endlessly about the fact that I like adding weird flavors into my coffee.”
“You’re just the kind of guy I need then,” Luke says, winking. Michael blushes. He’s never going to be able to come back here.
“Can I get a small?”
“Sure. Regular milk fine?”
“Yeah,” Michael says. Luke rings him up, rattling off the price. Michael swipes his card, signing on the screen as Luke starts to make his drink.
“So, do you work around here?”
“Yeah, I work down the block at the local library at the front desk. Wanted to stop in on my lunch break.”
“Well, I’m glad you stopped in. I can finally tell Ashton someone likes my drink, ” Luke says, moving around behind the counter.
“Ashton?”
“My partner. Business partner. I am very single,” Luke rushes out, blushing red and turning his attention to the coffee. Michael blushes too, worried he’s been caught out staring at Luke. Just because he's a pretty guy and Michael never gets the chance to see anyone under the age of 60 who isn’t a child doesn’t give him the right to stare at Luke.
“Well, it’s a good thing you have him,” Michael piped up, blushing harder when Luke glances at him over the espresso machine, smiling.
“Yeah. He’s a wonderful friend. Terrible coworker,” Luke says. Michael laughs, earning him a wide grin from Luke.
“Well, here you go! One vanilla rose latte! You’ll have to let me know how it is,” Luke says, sliding the drink across the counter. Michael takes it, sipping from it.
“Good. The rose isn’t too overpowering. Just the right blend,” Michael says. Luke beams and it fills Michael’s chest with a flare of something. He checks his phone, swearing when he sees the time.
“I gotta go, break’s gonna be up before I know it. Thanks for the drink Luke,” he says, turning to the door. Luke calls out a goodbye behind him as Michael rushes out so he can get their sandwiches on time and make it back to work.
Michael manages to make it back to work on time with enough time to finish his sandwich. The coffee sits with him the rest of the afternoon, keeping him warm and reminding him of Luke’s smile. Maybe Michael will have to go back more often for coffee from the shop.
***
Michael lasts about three days before he goes back. It’s late Saturday morning and Michael’s finally dragged himself from his bed and his apartment to run errands on his day off. Well, run errands once he gets some coffee, which has nothing to do with wanting to see cute barista Luke again. Even if Michael’s foregoing Starbucks and Dunkin’ just to go out of his way for Luke’s little coffee shop.
Calum has teased him endlessly for the last few days about it. All it had taken was Michael mentioning that maybe the barista was cute and Calum had lost it. He keeps teasing Michael about going back just to see Luke or making dumb coffee puns for flirting. Michael’s relieved that Calum’s working today, so he can go to the coffee shop without being teased for it.
The shop is empty when Michael shows up. Granted, it's mid-morning but it’s still a Saturday. Michael was expecting a least a bit of a crowd. Not that he’s complaining. More personal time with Luke. Which, maybe Michael shouldn’t be thinking like that about the barista.
Luke’s behind the counter already this time, head popping up when he hears the bell ring. He beams widely when he sees Michael, bouncing on his heels.
“Hi! Vanilla rose guy!” He says brightly, waving as he does so. Michael blushes.
“Michael. It’s Michael. Only fair since I know yours,” Michael says, embarrassed immediately. Luke smiles, dimples popping on his cheeks.
“Nice name. Now I don’t have to call you vanilla rose guy. Ashton was starting to think I made you up just to prove my drink idea was good.”
“All real. Just back for more coffee,” Michael says. Luke’s got his hair down today, curled around the base of his neck as he grins. He has butterfly wing eyeshadow on today, orange and blacks swirled together and drawn on. It’s so enchanting, Michael can’t take his eyes off of Luke. It’s distracted him completely from placing his order, going red when he realizes he’s been standing here for a few minutes in silence, staring at Luke. Luke giggles, tucking a curl behind his ear.
“So, coffee?”
“Yes. Coffee. The thing I am here for. What flavors do you have today?”
“Vanilla, hazelnut, mocha, raspberry, caramel, and the rose one. A few other floral flavors. Nothing too exciting.”
“Will you combine something?”
“Oh?”
“The mocha and the raspberry. In a small iced coffee.”
“Oh! Yes! That sounds really good actually. Why didn’t I think of that?” Luke says, grabbing a cup and spinning around to start making it.
“I just like weird flavors is all.”
“Not that weird. Sounds pretty good. Maybe you should work in the coffee shop, not me.”
“Nah. They need me too much at the library. Who else is going to help stressed parents find the last copy of Frozen or show someone’s grandma how to use the computer?” Michael says. Luke laughs, pouring coffee from a pitcher into the cup.
“Well, I’m sure you’ve saved many a tired parent whose daughter wants to hear Let It Go for the 100th time. Are you on break today?”
“Day off. Wanted to run some errands while I’m alone, but figured coffee would be a good place to start. Library can survive without me for two days.”
“What if someone needs the last copy of Frozen?”
“Calum can help them for a day,” Michael says. Michael likes working and living with Calum, but he likes the misalignment of their off days. Michael usually gets Friday and Saturdays off and Calum usually gets Sundays and Mondays. It gives them a few days to breathe without each other and it means that for a couple days, they get to alternate who cooks instead of them rushing to finish cooking one meal together. Michael has to go to the grocery store after this to get the ingredients for cheese quesadillas, his promised meal for the night.
“Calum?”
“Co-worker. Roommate. Pain in my ass.”
Luke giggles, shaking his head and sliding the coffee across the bar, “Well, I’m glad you get the day off, so you can come visit me and get coffee. You certainly keep my day interesting and exciting.”
“You’ve met me twice,” Michael says, taking the coffee and biting at the straw.
“Yeah, but you have the most interesting coffee orders. Who else would think to combine chocolate and raspberry? I didn’t.”
“I’m just a librarian with terrible taste.”
“Hey, no mean talking about yourself. You have interesting and exciting taste. How’s the coffee?” Luke asks. Michael takes a sip. It’s good, rich without being overpowering, the raspberry a subtle aftertaste in it.
“It’s good,” Michael says. Luke beams, smile lighting up his whole face with cheer.
“Good! I’m going to put it on my February drink list. It’ll be a good drink for Valentine's Day.”
Michael checks the time on his watch, frowning when he realizes how late it is, how much time he’s spent here with Luke chatting. He really needs to get to the store so he can buy food and start cooking. He was supposed to clean the apartment too today. Calum’s gonna chew him out if he doesn’t at least get something done because he’ll certainly realize Michael went to get coffee and he’ll mention Luke again.
“Do you have to go?” Luke asks, voice sad.
“Yeah. Gotta go buy dinner and then cook it. My turn to cook for the evening. Perks of having the day off.”
“Well, thanks for coming in again. You should come back when you have more time.”
“Don’t you have to work?”
“I’m co-owner. I can take a break to talk to my favorite customer,” Luke says, resting his elbows on the counter and grinning, leaning forward just a bit. It gives Michael a good view of his collarbones where the collar of his shirt dips low. Michael swallows, mouth dry.
“I have Fridays off. Maybe I’ll come in next week.”
“Please. I’ll try to come up with a drink for you to try,” Luke says. He smiles, biting the corner of his lip as Michael walks towards the door. He walks into a table nearby, stumbling when he’s distracted by Luke and blushes as he darts out the door. God, maybe one day Michael will stop making a fool of himself in front of the cute barista.
***
It’s been almost a week since Michael went to the coffee shop on his day off and he’s been psyching himself up to go back. He’d gone a couple other days during the week on his lunch break again, but Luke hadn’t been there. Instead, Michael met Ashton who had raised his eyebrows and gone “Oh you’re Michael,” causing Michael to blush and avoid the coffee shop for a few days to get over his embarrassment.
It’s Friday though and Michael can’t deny that he wants coffee. He wants coffee and he misses Luke and he wants to go in anyway. So, Michael sucks it up, puts on his best jeans and nice t-shirt and brushes his hair before going on his mission for coffee. He brings a book with him this time, promising himself that he’ll sit around and actually spend time at the store.
He gets lucky today, pushing the door open and seeing Luke behind the counter, humming along to the pop song on the radio as he dances around behind the counter. He brightens up when he sees Michael, grinning and waving, curls falling into his eyes.
“Hi Michael! It’s been a few days. Ashton mentioned you came in a couple times.”
“Yeah, I needed my coffee fix. Kept missing you though.”
“Yeah, it was a weird week for me, but I’m here now. I know it’s your day off and I couldn’t risk missing you,” Luke says, earnest. Michael blushes.
“Well, I brought my book with me, so I can hang around for a bit today,” Michael says, holding the book up.
“Lovely. I’m here all day for coffee while reading needs. What can I get you?”
“Caramel vanilla iced coffee. The larger size,” he says. Luke nods, going about making the drink.
“You must know some good books, being a librarian. You get to see all the new releases.”
“Most of them are those cheesy romance novels. So if you like reading about running away with a duke, I’m not sure what I can recommend. Unless you like horror novels.”
“I like fantasy. And mystery novels.”
“You should read A Cosmology of Monsters. It’s mystery and fantasy with a dash of horror. A good twist. I read it in one night,” Michael says. Luke hums, snapping the lid onto the cup.
“I’ll have to give it a look. What are you reading now?”
“If We Were Villains. Murder mystery novel, very who done it. But they’re theater students, so it’s an interesting read. Even though it’s very predictable.”
“Well, don’t tell me! What if I decide to read it?”
“Hey, I’m just giving you the plot summary. I just think it’s a little predictable,” Michael says, taking his coffee. Luke rolls his eyes.
“Well, take your coffee and your spoilers and go read your book. Don’t give it all away.”
“Aw, you’re no fun,” Michael says, teasing. He takes his cup, finding a table in the corner and sitting down so he’s facing Luke. Usually, Michael wears headphones and listens to music while he’s reading, but this time he doesn’t, preferring to keep them in his bag, so he can talk to Luke. It works, Luke commenting on the music playing over the coffee shop speakers or asking Michael for his opinions on muffins. Eventually, he takes his break, coming to sit across from Michael with two muffins, blueberry and chocolate, and his own cup of coffee to share with Michael. They exchange stories about their families and their jobs, until Luke has to go back to work and Michael realizes he has to head back home to finish cleaning and start on dinner. Luke looks a little sad to see Michael go, but he waves him goodbye as always, sends him off with a couple of chocolate chip cookies he’s made for Michael to take back to his place. Michael tries not to read into it too much, that the cute barista is giving him baked goods and hanging out with him and that Michael has spent a whole afternoon with Luke. He knows Calum is going to tease him when he goes home with the cookies, that he spent the whole day with Luke, to the point he’s running behind on his chores, but Michael thinks it was worth it to get to spend some more time with Luke and his curls and his laugh and his dimples. It’s always worth it to spend time with Luke and getting to see his smile.
***
It’s Tuesday and it’s boring. Nothing ever happens on a Tuesday. Which, sometimes is nice at the library. Yesterday, Michael had to deal with telling someone who was watching porn to get off the computers and arguing with a mom that no they didn’t have a movie in stock and no, Michael can’t go to another library to get it for her. It had taken Michael’s supervisor to step in and take over before the woman finally got it and left. Michael likes his job but god, does he hate people sometimes.
Calum’s been put on shelving today, leaving Michael alone at the front desk. He’s resisting the urge to spend the chair around in circles to combat his boredom. He could probably read a book or do something else productive, but Michael can’t get away with reading at the front some days and if he pulls his phone out, someone will probably walk by and comment on it.
Michael’s in the middle of making faces at Calum across the way when the doors to the library slide open and it pulls Michael’s attention over. He’s startled to see that it’s Luke coming through the doors, cheeks pink from the wind, and carrying a cup of coffee in his hands. He looks nice today, now that Michael can see his whole outfit. He looks nicer than he should, wearing leather trousers, heeled boots, and a leather jacket over a plain black shirt. He has no right looking this nice at a public library. Michael can’t physically take it.
Luke spots Michael, eyes lighting up and face breaking into a grin when they make eye contact. He makes a beeline for Michael. Michael looks over at Calum, frantic. Calum raises his eyebrows, mouth forming an “o” as he watches it all unfold.
“Hi. So this is your natural habit,” Luke whispers when he gets to the front desk.
“Here it is. Me and all the grandparents and small children.”
“Should I leave and come back so I can watch your heroics in action?”
“Could be awhile. Slow day today it seems like.”
“Too bad. You sold me on you being the big librarian hero.”
“Sorry to disappoint.”
“Never,” Luke says, grinning.
“Can I help you find something today?” Michael asks, figuring he should redirect them back to the fact that Luke’s at his place of work and eventually his boss will ask if he’s goofing off.
“Actually, I wanted to bring you a treat. You keep coming by my place of work, so I wanted to come visit you. Return the favor.”
“I come to your place of work to buy coffee. My work is pretty boring.”
“All I do is make coffee. You get to help people all day and see all the kids. I’d call that exciting.”
“I wouldn’t call it that,” Michael mumbles. Luke stands there, cocking his head to the side watching Michael. It reminds Michael of a puppy dog staring at him. Michael glances at the clock on his computer, figures it’s close enough now for him to take his break and talk to Luke outside.
“Let me punch out for lunch. We can sit outside on the bench and talk,” he whispers. Luke nods, heading off to the outside to wait for him. Michael darts to the back, letting his boss know so someone else can go sit at the front. Michael makes a point to avoid looking at Calum as he leaves.
Luke’s sitting on the bench by the door, ankles crossed and coffee sitting next to him. Michael crosses over, taking a seat next to Luke, who beams when he notices Michael.
“I was worried about coming to see you at work, but I thought it might be nice to bring you an afternoon pick me up. Mid week blues are always the worst.”
“Thanks. I need this. What’d you make me today?”
“Mocha with caramel sauce and coconut milk. I remember you ordered it last time. Thought you might like the sweet and warmth today.”
“I do. How do you know me so well?”
“Perks of being a barista. Good at reading people,” Luke teases. Michael huffs, closing his eyes as he takes a sip of the drink, humming his appreciation when he gets a taste of it.
“Good?”
“Just what I needed. The best yet.”
Luke claps in excitement, curls bouncing with him. Michael takes another sip, closing his eyes again to savor the taste.
“How much time do you have?”
“Can probably get away with 15 minutes before I should head in and actually eat my lunch.”
“Tell me how your day’s been going,” Luke says, turning to face Michael. His face is earnest and open. Michael blushes, launching into a story about trying to run the children’s reading group this morning. Michael would take any kid over their parents anyday. The parents are the kicker, always trying to one up each other to prove their kid is better. Michael gets so lost in the story, caught up in Luke’s laughter and snorting that he doesn’t realize how much time has passed until he catches sight of Calum waving at him through the door.
“Shit I gotta go. Breaks almost up,” Michael says, rushing to stand. Luke looks crestfallen and a little sad.
“Oh really? I didn’t realize how much time had passed. I’m sorry.”
“No, no it’s not your fault. I need to get better at time management. You always distract me,” Michael confesses, blushing a little at the admission. Luke blushes too, cheeks and nose a little red.
“Well good. I like being a distraction. I mean...hmmm...you know what I mean,” Luke says, blushing harder.
“I do. Thanks for the coffee. I’ll come by the shop tomorrow?”
“Yes! I’ll be there. Enjoy the coffee Michael,” Luke says, waving as Michael rushes back in.
“Have fun with Lukey?”
“Shut up. Which of us got free coffee?” Michael says, sticking his tongue out and holding out the cup for Calum to see. Calum squints, leaning in to look at the cup.
“Oh shit,” Calum whispers, pointing at the side of the cup. Michael turns it around, eyes going wide when he notices the handwriting on the side.
“You really grind my beans. Text me- Luke,” the handwriting says, a number written out next to it.
“You have to text him,” Calum hisses.
“I cannot.”
“Do it! The cute barista came to visit you at work and gave you his number! He wants you to visit,” Calum says urgently. Michael looks at the writing, brow furrowed. It’s impossible for Luke to like Michael, but this says otherwise. Maybe Michael should take his chances and text Luke. See what happens.
(It gets him a date on Friday with the prettiest blonde barista in town. It gets him breakfast on Saturday with the same boy. It gets him a cheeky grin from Calum when he goes home Saturday night, covered in hickies. It gets him a boyfriend, who brings him coffee on his lunch breaks with silly little coffee puns. It gets Michael happiness.)

masterlist
Michael was used to checking up on you at the coffee shop whenever he had a break, either the hour long lunch one or the fifteen minutes ones he had in-between guitar lessons.
It wasn’t a long trip, just down the street from the record shop he worked at - where he was the part time guitar teacher. Really, only a two minutes walk and completely worth the while.
Whenever you noticed him walk through the doors of the quiet coffee shop, a sweet smile automatically opened up on your face and you had to start focusing more on the task at hand. He often had music sheets in his hands and a pencil resting behind his ear, the same one he kept his lonely earbud in. Michael would always absentmindedly walk until he reached the line and only lifted his green eyes onto you when it was his turn to order.
His smile was always bright and wide when he saw you already looking at him dreamily - you’d admit.
“Hi, love” he’d salute, chuckling lightly at the small blush that’d creep on your cheeks. Mikey you gotta stop that! My coworkers always laugh at me when they see how smitten I am with you! You’d said to him once; it’s safe to say that he never did.
“Want your usual for lunch?” you’d ask then, booping his nose and basking in the feeling of having him blush at such a simple gesture - it was payback.
Michael would nod, winking with a grin, before paying and waiting for you at the table you’d always sneak a reserved plate onto so you could have it for yourselves - thankfully no one ever said anything.
Lunch breaks would be his favourites, because he got to spend more time with you to talk, or complain about insufferable students and rude costumers, or ramble on and on about this or that - since you asked for your lunch break to be in the same hour as his - but you liked it better when he’d make surprise visits.
Seeing him jogging down the street in the drizzle just so he could steal a kiss and a cookie, watch you interact with costumers and the jog back to the music shop. Or seeing him come in all frustrated because his last student had been a handful and he just wanted a hug.
Michael would always make sure you were doing okay too, asking if you needed anything or if he needed to scold some fourteen year old who’d tried to steal candy from the jar you kept near the till.
At the end of the day you’d halfway down the street, just in the middle between his shop and yours. Michael hugged you tight, like he couldn’t do when he came to visit, and kissed you until you both needed to catch a breath.
“Should we head home?” he’d ask, grinning from ear to ear.
“Lead the way” you’d say, stamping a kiss on his cheek as the both of you chuckled.
