I refuse to believe Rhodey was switched at Civil War.

Refuse.

I don't care if it looks like he's wearing a hospital gown. Nope. No.

As far as I'm concerned, a little after TFATWS, Rhodey went in for a yearly check up or something. Maybe an xray to check on his legs. Then the Skrulls captured him and stole his leg brace things and that's why he couldn't stand up by himself.

I REFUSE to accept any earlier.

What? Is Marvel suggesting that Skrull Rhodey fought in Wakanda, spent the 5 Blip years working with the Avengers, did the Time Heist, bonded with Nebula, watched Tony die, and supported Sam with the shield?

IS THAT WHAT YOUR SAYING, MARVEL!?

You know, I keep thinking What If...? should do a storyline of "What if Vision shot down Iron Man instead of War Machine at the end of the airport battle in CACW?"

That would have been really interesting (and a bit satisfying for the more bitter and petty side of me). However, they would have to switch out the writers and creators for some more competent ones first.

I am guessing it could have gone something like this:

Tony gets injured as Rhodey did. And he is either going to learn from it or, more likely (in my opinion), blame team Cap for everything.

Vision’s ending is going to remain the same.

Rhodey is going to feel guilty because he was the one that told Vision to shoot (I still have no idea what was going on with him in this movie. It's like he and Natasha had loaned away all their brain cells or something). Maybe he takes over some of Tony’s remaining storyline? So, he finds out about the actual psychiatrist->goes to the Raft to talk to team Cap (I am pretty sure that he would probably not have been as accepting about that Geneva convention-breaking hellhole as Tony was)->finds out about Siberia, and goes there to help Steve and Bucky. And that is where his storyline would diverge because I highly doubt that he would have tried to hurt anyone if he found out about Tony’s parents. He might be upset about it, but he would definitely not have lost it as Tony did. He would probably be able to bring his attention back to capturing Zemo and solving the other conflicts.

T’challa’s storyline would have remained the same if Rhodey followed Tony’s storyline. If not, he would still be trying to kill Bucky until he got the news about the actual psychiatrist and realized that Steve was telling the truth. So it would still have stayed similar.

Without the murder attempt, Bucky would have gotten to keep his arm (instead of having it traumatically blasted off, again). And everything would have been calmly and rationally solved (if everyone were allowed to be in character).

So from the last episode of Secret Invasion we’re able to tell that Rhodey was in captivity for much longer than everyone else was, namely Everett Ross and the other world leaders. But we still don’t have a read on just how long. He’s been a colonel this whole time so we don’t really have that as a measure (because everyone calls him Col. Rhodes), and Everett Ross would have still known him before his government tenure because of his position and because of War Machine.

Now, who’s to say War Machine was even the real Rhodey? Well, I think we can say he’s safe up till 2011, seeing as before he wouldn’t have known Nick Fury nor would he have had any desire to kill him. Besides, once Fury was in the picture they had little to no interactions over the course of the MCU and there has been no indication of potential hostility up until *maybe* Civil War (but Fury doesn’t even show up during that entire conflict, so it’s anyone’s guess as to if there was hostility in the first place).

I think it’s also fairly safe to say that the real Rhodey was there up until at least the Snap, because Tony would have absolutely caught if something was off about him. I have no doubt about that. Now, because both of them survived the snap, but Tony retired, it’s hard to tell if something could have happened in between.

The next giveaway is his leg braces/need for the suit—it’s seen up through Infinity War and mentioned in Endgame, but he no longer has them during TFATWS. I’ve heard it suggested that how would Rhodey have survived the fall in Civil War if he wasn’t a Skrull then, but to that I say—he was literally in a titanium suit?

Suffice to say there’s a lot of evidence in either direction and I’m searching for more, so stay turned for updates. Personally I hope there was no change until TFATWS, but as we don’t know how much there was between that and Secret, there’s no real way to know.

Welcome to my Iron Man 1 spread, the first in my series of MCU journal spreads!

This took me a couple days to make, probably about 10+ hours of work from finding photos, editing said photos, printing it all out at the library, cutting them out, planning the layout, making the arc reactor and quotes, writing all the lil entries and comments, finding the perfect sticker placements and generally staring at a bunch of scraps of paper and trying to figure out what the FUCK to do with them. Of course filming and editing afterwards adds another like 5 hours onto that time haha.

I think my favorite part was drawing the devil horns and tail on Obadiah lol. And of course rambling about like love for the Ironhusbands ship. I wish the red paper with blue pen looked better on camera, but oh well, it looks fuckin wicked in person!

Anyway, next up is Iron Man 2!
