Book!Viserys wasn't a good father to the greens either.

Ok, I do admit he was better than show!Viserys. At least book!Viserys didn't go as far as to say Rhaenyra was his "only child"

BUT STOP PRETENDING HE WAS ANYTHING GOOD!!!

Book!Viserys calls Aegon "Alicent's blood" when she suggests betrothing Aegon & Rhaenyra.

I'm not sure in what world saying that about your own child makes you a good father.

Unlike in the show, I don't think he would have even given betrothing Helaena to Jace a consideration because he doesn't think his children with Alicent are even good enough to be consorts.

He was upset Alicent wanted her own blood on the throne, and he betrothed Aegon & Helaena himself and made them marry at 15 & 13. (What a loving father! At least he cares about them enough to make 1 horrible decision regarding their lives right?)

Now let's get to his biggest offence. Aemond's eye.

Am I faulting him for loving Rhaenyra & Luke? No.

Was he as asshole for scolding Aemond over rumors instead of being worried for his well being? Yes.

The very least he could have done is make Luke apologize since he did disable Aemond for life, but NO, he has to make Aemond feel ever worse.

I know book!Aemond was a bully and an asshat ok (and what he does to Luke later isn't justified), but let's not pretend that he wasn't a victim in this particular situation.

"But he was a good father to Helaena! He loved her and her kids."

Wow, amazing how he got along well with the daughter who listened to his every whim and never once complained to him or demanded he listen to her desires.

He was also such an amazing father to her he let her get knocked up at 13 or 14 by her 15 year old brother who he forced her to marry when Rhaenyra didn't have to marry until she was 17. Truly father of the decade!

(Obviously the Rhaenyra thing is not great either but it's very different from being a literal middle schooler.)

Oh, and I'm definitely sure he definitely would have supported Helaena if she ever had bastards that were so obviously not Aegon's.

And wow, how amazing is it that he didn't neglect his teen daughter's children.

Truly something we should be praising him for, but let's remember if Luke ever cut out any of Helaena's children's eyes, you can sure bet beloved girldad Viserys would be on her side.

(Oh, and nothing is mentioned about his relationship with Daeron ever apart from the fact he wanted him to be besties with Jace. Not unlikely he may have forgotten he had a 5th child just like show!Viserys.)

I kinda wanna know about the shared trauma Annabeth and Alabaster both have from Luke and how they deal with it? How does Percy deal with them going completely insane just thinking about it? Does Annabeth ever realize she was used by Luke too (I feel like in a way she was)? I just kind of wanted you to explore this a bit more.

It's very important to start that the love was there. Luke loved them, they were his little siblings. It didn't change anything. It didn't stop the hurt. Perhaps it made it worse. But it's very important that the love was there.

Percabeth didn't talk about Luke after Manhattan, not really. That off-hand comment about his flying shoes in Cotg was the first time either of them mentioned him out-loud.

It's Alabaster coming into their life that opened up that baggage along with several more they were happy to ignore until it eventually burst.

I think it would be good for both of them when they come to the realisation that Luke wasn't evil and he wasn't a can-do-no-wrong-hero either. (He is still the hero of the prophecy of course but yeah, you all get it)

He was just a traumatised kid who grew into a traumatised young adult and caused the deaths and traumas of dozens of other kids whether he wanted to or not.

Just Annabeth realising she was the same age as when Luke took her in when she took the sky from him. Just Annabeth having a talk with Thalia, learning about Halycon Green, and how Luke changed after that, and how he again changed after that visit to May and the confrontation with Hermes. How he seemed to intentionally provoke and go after monsters. Just Annabeth mourning the loss of her dagger and her family. Luke has been dead from the start. Thalia will never be the cool 12 year old that took her under her wing again. Annabeth will out-age and Thalia will out-live both of them.

Just Alabaster realising hey, maybe Luke wasn't this almost god-like being he idolised. That maybe Luke himself didn't believe in half the things he promised. That maybe it shouldn't have been his, a 14 year old's, job to coax out a drunk Luke from the corner of Othrys he backed himself to. That maybe he wasn't wrong to think that he was used as an emotional replacement for Annabeth.

If Alabaster spared a drachma for every time Luke called him Annabeth— well no matter. He was dead now. (He would do anything to hear Luke's voice again, even if that was by being called Annabeth.)

But Luke didn't only hurt them, did he? Like I said he was their big brother. Just the memories of Annabeth staying up full night with Luke, him shielding her from the cold and the harpies as they sat on Thalia's branches. Just Luke protecting Alabaster from bullies who thought picking on the weird scrawny minor god kid no. 1263 would be fun. Luke who saw a little seven year old and took her in, promised family and tried to protect her to his best. Luke who killed himself for her. Luke who tried to maintain the familiy bonds he had with these children that followed him to the Titan army. Luke who tried to keep Alabaster away from Kronos as much as possible, and yet still promoted him to his second in command anyways.

Does that make up for the hurt? Does it matter he loved them if he intentionally or not got them in the middle of the crossfire? That's for Annabaster to decide.

They do miss him though. Once the gates open they can't stop the incoming emotional flood. Sometimes they curse him out, sometimes they cry after him, sometimes they sit in silence of their overwhelming feelings. Sometimes... well, Percy doesn't know, but it's better than Luke being a constant topic of their relationship arguments he guesses.

And it's the way Alabaster still talks like he's trying to imitate Luke: half successful silver tongue, laced with magic and the passion Luke used to have at the very start of the war. It's the way Annabeth paces around like Luke did when he was stressed, all lost in thoughts at picking at her elbows. It's the way all three of them are bone tired, and world weary and if they look at the mirror they just see Luke Luke Luke—

Some nights, when none of them can sleep, under the soft light of the moon and a cozy blanket, with hot drinks in their hands and kisses shared they talk about just how easy it would be to stage Olympus's downfall, how fast, how it would hit them before they can even suspect a thing... All hypothetical certainly, just whispers between lovers.

And Percy. He doesn't even have half the memories his partners have with Luke. But three of what he has stick out the most: Luke teaching him sword-fighting, him siccing a scorpion on little 12 year old Percy with no hesitation and him making him promise to not let things happen this way again as he bled out to death in his lap.

Olympians may have not went through their promise. Percy sure does intend to keep his own one though, gods be damned.

He'll just settle for being there for his partners for however long they grieve, though.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep:

Redemption and Restoration

In the parable of the Lost Sheep, Jesus conveys a deep message about the relentless pursuit of redemption and the boundless grace of God. Let us delve into this timeless story and explore its significance in our lives today.

A certain shepherd had a hundred sheep, yet one of them strayed from the fold. Undeterred by the ninety-nine, the shepherd embarked on a relentless search for the lost sheep. He scoured the hills and valleys until, at last, he found the wayward sheep, weary and alone.

Filled with compassion, the shepherd tenderly lifted the sheep onto his shoulders and rejoiced, calling together his friends and neighbors to celebrate the sheep's return. In the same way, Jesus explains, there is more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance (Luke 15:3-7).

This parable reminds us of the depth of God's love and his unwavering commitment to seek out and restore the lost. Just as the shepherd pursued the lost sheep, so too does our Heavenly Father pursue each one of us with relentless love and compassion.

No matter how far we may have strayed, God's arms are always open wide, ready to welcome us back into His embrace. His grace knows no bounds, and His forgiveness is freely offered to all who humble themselves and turn back to Him.

The parable of the Lost Sheep challenges us to reflect on our own lives and consider those areas where we may have wandered away from God's path. It beckons us to return to the fold, to repent of our sins, and to experience the joy of reconciliation with our Heavenly Father.

Just as the shepherd rejoiced over the lost sheep's return, so too does God rejoice over each one of us when we turn back to Him. Our repentance brings joy to heaven, and our restored relationship with God brings fulfillment and purpose to our lives.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we thank you for your unwavering love and grace, demonstrated to us through the parable of the Lost Sheep. Give us the courage to humble ourselves, repent of our sins, and return to you with open hearts. May we never forget the depth of your love for us and the joy that comes from being reconciled to you. In Jesus' name, amen.

I’ve always appreciated Luke and Leia’s parents. Their father would be at every game until he passed. Their mother, Monica, would drive us to the early morning practices and take Leia to figure skating lessons. They took me in when my dad bailed, and my mom had to work nights to support us.

Monica was my support when Mom died and I was a scared 20-year-old, on my own for the first time. I had every respect for her.

Until I was 25 at least.

That’s when she checked out of all of our lives, Leia especially.

Monica had it in her mind that she needed to remarry rich to support her children. Her children that are amazing all on their own. She had a superstar son, who could have taken care of her and a daughter that started her own business. But to Monica, Leia’s smarts were not enough for a woman in a man’s world. She believed Leia needed to give up her dreams and marry someone who will take care of her.

This broke Leia for a long time.

Luke and I did our best to hold Leia up while she dealt with the ramifications of her mother’s words. It unfortunately led to Bret and well here we are. We had gotten her past it. I thought I had made her happy. We were going to be a real family now.

I did not have Monica Andrews on my bingo card.

“Mom? What are you doing here?” Leia was standing at the door, gripping it like her life depended on it. I moved quickly to be behind her.

“Hi Mrs. Andrews.”

“It's DeLaurentis, now, Andrew. Leighton, my goodness, you have really popped.”

I flinch at the backhanded compliment. “Umm, come on in, Mrs. DeLaurentis.” I pulled Leia with me to allow her mother in. I looked at Leia and she shrugged with a confused look that must have matched mine. I moved when she made it to the living room. “Mrs. DeLaurentis, these are my teammates, Linus Ullmark, Brad Marchant and David Pasternak and you remember Stella and Miranda. Guys, this is Luke and Leia’s mother, Monica DeLaurentis.”

Everyone greets her and she says her hellos. She turns back to Leia. “May I speak to you alone, Leighton?” I don’t like the way she says my girl’s name. Like its a swear word. It grinds my nerves.

As they walked into my office, I had a bad feeling in my stomach. I turned to Miranda. “Get Luke back on the phone.”

Leia

I was still in shock that my mother was back in town, and she was married. I don’t remember being invited to that. “I’m surprised to see you, Mother.”

“Well, I’ve been busy.”

I looked at her left hand and the giant diamond on her finger. “I can see that. Congratulations.” I stopped. “You married Summer’s father?”

My mother looks put out by my question. “Its not like he’s still married.”

“Mother, his wife died less than a year ago.” I was incredibly annoyed with her. Monica Andrews, sorry, DeLaurentis, had not been a shallow woman before my father died. She had been the typical stay at home mom that you see on old 50’s TV shows, apron and all. She had been my best friend, like any little girl would have. It was great. Until my dad died. She lasted five years. By the time I was 20, she was gone.

“Don’t talk to me like that Leighton,” my mother huffed. “How come your brother isn’t here?”

“He was named the Bruins all-star so he’s in Toronto right now.”

“Well, I would like to meet with both of you at the same time.” She looked at me up and down again. “We have some things to talk about.”

Andy walked in right them. “Mrs. DeLaurentis, it’s Luke.” He handed her the phone.

“Lukas, when do you come back?... Well, I don’t want to have this conversation twice... The day you get back would be best...” She handed the phone back to Andy. “I’ll meet you on Monday at the Cafe,” she said to me. “Apparently, we have a lot to discuss.”

I wasn’t sure if that was going to be a good thing or a bad. “Like what?”

“I’d rather not say since you have company or rather Andrew has company.” She gave a distasteful look to us. “I’ll see myself out.” She turned without a goodbye.

My knees were shaking and I grabbed onto the island. Andy saw me and immediately put his arms around me. “Hey, baby, take a breath.”

“She didn’t even ask about the baby or anything,” I whispered. “I don’t want to go alone.”

Andy snorted. “Like there was a chance that I would let you. The three of us will go, just like always, ok?” He cupped my face. “I won’t let anything happen.”

If only I could believe him.

Monday comes and I don’t want to get out of bed. I was in and out of sleep but Andy cuddled up next to me, running his hand through my hair and I was asleep. Cheeky brat knows how to calm me. I groan when the alarm goes off.

“Sorry, my queen. I have a team meeting.” He kissed my head, but I grabbed onto his arm.

“No, you are warm and you’re comfy. Mine.” I snuggle deeper into his chest and Andy lets out a low laugh.

“I am yours, my queen, but I still have to get up. You wanted me to wake you so you could get ready for lunch with your mom.” He kissed my nose. “Something about wanting to have that pregnancy glow so she couldn’t be a bitch about it.”

I vaguely remember saying that to him, but he is right. After the awful look she gave me about my bump, I don’t want to go in there looking anything less than perfect.

The relationship between my mother and myself is complicated at best. When my dad died, my mom tried to be strong for us. But it was like half of her soul left with him. My dad was smart, there was savings and a life insurance policy. But my mother got it in her head that she needed to find a way to provide for us. But she didn’t want to get a job. She had been a housewife and that’s all she assumed she knew.

And that’s all she wanted for me.

As I pull on the pale pink sweater dress and leggings, my mind drift to the day after Bret and I split.

“Why are you breaking up? He will be a wonderful partner and provider for you Leighton.” My mom sips her tea at the hotel we met at. Yeah, you heard me, hotel. Because my mother left the house my father had built for her. Lucky that Luke bought it from her otherwise our childhood home would be long gone.

“That is not what I want from my life Mother. I want a partner to grow with me, help me, not treat me like I’m a servant. Daddy didn’t raise me like that.”

“You have no idea what your father wanted,” she retorted. “Bret is handsome, wealthy...”

“Controlling, egotistical, narcissistic,” I finished for her. “He’s in Tokyo and he belittled me and dreams.”

“I think you are making a mistake Leighton.”

Andy pulls up to the hotel where they are serving afternoon tea. I’m grateful as I am not allowed more than one cup of coffee a day, which is a tragedy onto itself. I see Luke sitting in the lobby. “Why didn’t you go inside?”

“And be alone with the Mother? Do you hate me, Cubby?” He gives me a soft hug. “Missed you.”

“You were gone for four days,” Andy says as they man-hug. “Let’s not make her wait or suffer her wrath.”

Andy guides me with his hand on the small of my back, Luke leading the way. My mom is sitting at a table with Kyle DeLaurentis. Fuck my life. The new stepfather. I try not to have a sour face because I don’t need to hear it from her. “Hi Mother.”

“Leighton, Lucas and Andrew, this is a surprise.” She gave us air kisses before she turned to Kyle. “This is Kyle, my husband.”

Andy moves first. “Mr. DeLaurentis, it's nice to see you again. Andrew Barber.”

“I’ve been watching Andrew. Bruins are looking good. Lukas,” he offers his hand to Luke to shake. “Congratulations on the All Star nomination.”

“Thanks,” Luke says tightly.

“This is my daughter, Leighton,” my mom says.

“Leighton, you look beautiful,” taking my offered hand and kissing my knuckles. I try not to shudder at the ick factor that I am getting from Kyle. I went to school with his daughter, Summer, and spent time with their family and I hadn’t felt this before but now I do. Andy, thankfully, pulls a chair for me between him and Luke and we sit as the waiter starts to take orders.

“Andrew, can I ask why you decided to join us today?” my mother asked.

He shrugs. “Leia asked me to come.”

The waiter drops the drinks and an uncomfortable silence. My mother clears her throat and took a sip of her tea before she said, “you are living with Andrew now.” Not a question.

I looked at her. “Yes, I am.”

She scoffed. “An unmarried, pregnant woman living with a man that is not the father.”

I can feel Andy tense next to me. “Yes, she is. Except Leia and I are now together.”

My mother gives us a sharp look. “And what about Bret?”

“What about him? He left me, I told him I am pregnant. I never got a response. I’ve moved on with someone who loves and cares for me and my daughter.” Andy takes my hand and gently squeezes to try and calm me.

“Love, please relax,” he whispers. I try to take a deep breath, but she doesn’t let up.

“You should be with the father, Leighton. A baby cannot be raised in a broken home.”

“It’s not broken! She has a father! Andy is the father!” I stand up and move to the bathroom, trying not to cry. How can she say that? Our family is not broken. Me and Andy and Luke and Miranda are our own family. We make it perfect. The tears flow as I hit the door. I make it and take a few minutes to myself, letting the tears fall. Once I can gather myself, I clean up my face and head out. And ran right into my mother.

“That display was embarrassing, Leighton,” she says sternly.

“Embarrassing for whom? You?” I swallow the yell that wants to come out. “I am not some helpless woman who needs a man to take care of her. I have my business, I have my work with the team, I have Luke and I have Andy. Andy, who knows everything and still loves me. He loves my daughter, even if she isn’t biologically his. You have changed so much since Daddy died that I don’t even recognize you. You’re like a super Stepford wife and you only care about money and status.”

“You have no idea what it's like for your partner to die and leave you with two children to raise!”

“Raise? I was 14 when dad died. You didn’t raise me. You left us! I refuse to do that to my daughter.”

“You ungrateful little brat!” I saw my mother raise her hand and I went to block her when another hand stopped her.

“What the fuck do you think you are doing Mother? “Luke was raging at his mother. “Leia has gestational hypertension, and you are doing this? You need to leave!”

“Lucas, how can you treat your mother this way?”

“Easy. When someone is being a complete bitch to their daughter, I can easily make the right choice. Until you can apologize to Leia, stay away from her, don’t call.”

“Lucas,” she cries.

“I get it. You lost it when dad dies but that is no excuse.”

Andy had been holding me and he turned me to walk out of the hotel as the tears fell. I knew my mother had changed but it was shocking to see it. My mother had never tried to strike me before.

But she would no longer be a part of my life.

Suddenly, a sharp pain flashed through my body and I stopped and cried out. “Leia?” Andy holds me to him. “Baby, what’s wrong?”

“I don’t know,” I cried. Andy lifted me up as Luke ran for the car. “Andy?”

“Its gonna be ok, baby. We’re gonna get you to the hospital.” He kisses my head as Luke pulls up. Andy puts me in the car, climbs in after me and Luke races away.

Please let my baby be ok.

Revelation 10:1-3. “I saw another strong angel coming down out of heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire; and he had in his hand a little book which was open. He placed his right foot on the sea and his left on the land; and he cried out with a loud voice, as when a lion roars; and when he had cried out, the seven peals of thunder uttered their voices.”

“Why did God create these heavenly beings?”

“We see images of angels all around us at Christmastime. In some of these, angels are portrayed as slim Victorian beauties with flowing hair, giant feathered wings, and elegant gowns. Others look like adorable babies carrying tiny harps. But these representations have very little in common with the terrifying angelic messengers found in today’s passage and throughout Scripture. In fact, their first words to the humans they encounter are usually “Do not be afraid.”

In the final book of the New Testament, these heavenly emissaries play a significant role. For one thing, in the first two verses of chapter 1, an angel gives John the revelation from which the book gets its title. Later, angels worship God: “Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, ‘Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.’” (Revelation 5:11-12) and provide help and care to His people: “And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, ‘Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads.’” (Revelation 7:2-3).

Then they loudly proclaim the good news of Jesus: “And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people; and he said with a loud voice, ‘Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters.’” (Revelation 14:6-7). And they also serve God by heralding His perfect justice to the world (Revelation 14:8; Revelation 14:17-19).Notice the action-oriented mission and ministry of angels throughout Revelation, and recognize the contrast with the sweet, passive images we usually see. Angels were created by God to glorify Him. And though we are “for a little while lower than angels” (Hebrews 2:7), the same is true of us as well: “Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 15:5-6).

Luke was always the hero of the prophecy.

Every time I wander into the Luke tag and see people who really firmly believe that his actions were inexcusable, or I (as I am doing rn) reread TLO and see Thalia saying that everything that’s happening is due to Luke’s poor choices, I have to sit there and remind myself that "poor choices” is a really reductive view to take on a very complex issue. Luke was born with a destiny, and nothing that he did along the way could have changed it.

We start the series with The Fates cutting his life line. The moment that Percy is found by monsters and inducted into the world of myths, Luke’s fate is sealed. Any questions of what would happen end in that moment. Not that there were many questions before - both May and Hermes are well aware of who Luke would become. It’s why Hermes had to stay away, and why May was terrorized with these visions.

Now, this primes Luke for his frustration with the gods. He’s already hurt and scared of his future, and he knows the gods are well aware and don’t seem to give a fuck regardless. He knows that, on top of his dad being shitty, Thalia and Annabeth have been abandoned, too, and that’s his family. That’s inexcusable.

And then Thalia dies, killed by a god, with her father unwilling to intervene until she’s already gone.

And then he, at 14, is left to run the Hermes cabin, presumably after whoever was previously leading it dies. The cabin where every unwanted demigod is left, where they don’t even have enough room for everyone to have a bed anymore. Eventually, he’s not just running that cabin, he’s basically running the camp. Training demigods because the immortals who are supposed to be doing so have gotten so burnt out on heroes over the years that they are barely involved. So he has to be the one to try and train them well enough that they don’t die when they inevitably leave on quests that aren’t important, they’re just re-hashings of quests from the past. More of the gods jacking themselves off over memories of the “golden age.”

When Luke finally gets his own quest, it’s one of these rehashing of the glory days quests. One that he’s literally been told by his father is of no importance - it’s only so he has the chance to do something great and prove himself before he dies. And so, when he is faced with the drakon and has the chance to complete it or die trying, he leaves. Glory and fame isn’t worth his life. But now he’s a failure, and a failure is worse than dead, so suddenly there are no more quests. The rigged game is broken now that there’s the option to just not do it, so it’s banned.

So, you get an (at the time) 17-year-old kid who has watched kids dying to the gods’ games since he was 14, who is considered a failure for refusing to play, and who is acutely aware that this has been happening for two thousand years. And will continue long after he’s gone. He’s the failed hero because he refused to die. And then someone offers him a deal - bring down the Olympians, and you get to decide the fate of the heroes. Someone clever and manipulative enough to convince Olympians to turn against Olympians and powerful enough to follow through on their promise.

If there’s one “poor choice” that Luke makes, it’s here, but how many others made the same one? With less reason to?

By the time we get to TTC, he sees where he fucked up. Thalia helps him realize - this isn’t going to save demigods, this is just going to place them under a new system that’s just as controlling as the first. He won’t live to see it happen, which means there’s no insurance.

So, he tries to go back on it. Kronos says himself that he has to threaten Luke and Luke’s “family” with terrible things in order to get him to agree to swim in the Styx. Luke tries to run away with Annabeth, seeing her as the last person left who might be willing to trust him, as a last ditch effort to escape, not just for himself. He tells Annabeth, “Kronos will use me as a stepping stone.” He’s trying to remove himself from the equation, slowing Kronos down before it even begins.

He tries to stop Kronos from killing Beckendorf.

He tries to interfere when Kronos is close to figuring out Percy’s Achilles point.

And he makes the choice to kill Kronos in the end, even if it means killing himself, because this was never what Luke’s war was about.

He wanted demigods to stop being pawns in a greater game, and accidentally became one himself. He wanted kids to stop dying in order to prove themselves to parents who often didn’t even know their names.

And no matter what choices he made, he was trying to move towards a better future. The Fates had other ideas. No matter where he tried to back out or leave, he was always going to end up in that throne room with Percy and Annabeth.

He’s not a perfect person - he makes an excellent antagonist and foil to Percy. But I’d love for the narrative to shift away from him as selfish or entitled, because it was never just about him. It was about all of the other demigods he had to send off to die.

Luke being a bad person/doing bad things makes him more tragic as a character,not less

This is(mostly) a copy-paste from a meta I wrote on Reddit. Besides,I'm only talking about the books,the tv show is 100% ignored in this analysis.

Disclaimer:this isn't to excuse Luke's actions or to diminish their severity,it's just that his terrible deeds are a fundamental part of his character as a sympathetic villiain when it comes to both words,not just the latter one.

Luke's life was extremely turbulent. First,he was raised by a mother who not only couldn't properly raise her kid,but she also yelled about his terrible fate while her eyes had a supernatural glow. To top it all,Hermes didn't give any sign,no matter how much Luke prayed. An unpleasant way to get introduced to the divine,I'd say;

Because of May's "crises",Luke ran away from home. There,he had to deal with all of the crazy stuff homeless kids/teens have to,besides the monsters wanting him as breakfast. Perhaps it was during this time he learned about how dangerous the demigod life was,plus desensitization to violence - at least,the beginning of it. Another amount of time Luke prayed for help,but none came until he was 14. To top it all,Hermes said growing up in the streets "builds character";

Camp Half-Blood itself. It surely beats living in the streets(being protected from monsters,training,regular meals),but it's far from flawless. The place has a blasé attitude towards violence and death. Besides many demigods(especially unclaimed ones) going on suicidal missions just to get claimed and/or a smidge of the godly parent's affection,people get slaps on the wrists as punishments for maiming and killing other demigod campers during Capture The Flag(no desserts). If Luke wasn't indifferent towards murder before CHB,he surely became. Now that I think of it,Sally is the only one who deserves credit for Percy's moral code when it comes to authority figures;

After all that happened,Kronos appeared and decided to manipulate Luke. TBH,I think the failed quest was just the last drop. Luke had way too many reasons to get angry at the system,two decades of trauma(he was 19 in TLT,but I'll round it up). Kronos was a bad influence to Luke,using his ressentment to make Luke undego several kinds of decay - including moral;

Using seduction as a weapon on young teens isn't such a dealbreaker for me,as a Luke fan,and even that is part of the tragedy of Luke Castellan. Not only he had to grow up early and his ideas of youth are warped,but there's also the infamously small demigod lifespam. Besides,Luke's exposure to the good parts of the mortal USA moral code might very well be limited(not to mention he himself was unprotected by society). On a tangent,him falling for Annabeth is stupid - whether it's canon or not (I don't want to debate it). Rick wrote them as having a sibling relationship,makes a big deal about a "family promise",then decides to make a love triangle? Way to trash an emotional arc. Now,back to the main topic. Luke being a manipulator and victim of manipulation at the same time is a great way to show how "hurt people hurt people";

Negative emotions. Rick Riordan said Luke's fatal flaw was wrath,and it surely fits. However,another thing that repeatedly doomed Luke was some sort of emotional fragility. First,Luke said Kronos paid him compliments and gave him important stuff to do as a sign of appreciation. Then,the Titan Lord himself said Luke hated and envied Percy. Envy is very hurtful and often stems from a feeling of lack. Luke also was shown as someone who needed validation. From TLT(namely the praises),to TLO(Luke,hosting Kronos,mentioned something about how Chiron "said the gods cared about me"). Even to save Olympus,Annabeth had to offer Luke support.

"YOU did not choose Me, but I CHOSE you and APPOINTED you that you should GO AND BEAR FRUIT, And that your FRUIT SHOULD REMAIN, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you."

* The Increase or the explosion comes when you are faithful and Obedient, in the work or assignment given you by God.

- When God instructed you to move from one place to another, you need to get it clearly, be sure of what you have received or heard, before you move.

- At times, you might think you have received or heard from God, to lunch out and do a particular thing, while you had not, you only heard yourself.

- At times, when you lack resources, money, and non-availability of Men or labourers, and some other intricacies or complexities; It could be a way which God has chosen to communicate His Will or Mind to you, telling you that It is yet Time, not the right Time, for the thing you wanted to do (Numbers 9:18-23).

- In some instances, some of the visions, or the instructions received, are not for the moment, but for the time to come.

- Whilst some visions which you claimed you had received from God, are the wishes of your heart, thinking they were visions or instructions from God (Acts 16:6,7).

- That being said, It does not mean that you are out of God's Will whenever you have a challenge—one problem or another. The fact that, what you are doing was instructed by God, does not mean there would be no opposition.

- Every vision, or a bid to do God's Will, or Obedience to the instruction given by God; would attract opposition, challenges and obstacles, but you will overcome If you were genuinely sent by God.

- Apostle Paul and his team were Divinely led to Macedonia, but they were arrested and jailed after an exploit in the Ministry work. When a demon was driven out of a girl with the spirit of divination (Acts 16:16-24).

* In the Ministry, there usually be a time or season of isolation, hardship, or trial; a time when you are kept in a place, to try or test your heart, in order to know the motivation behind whatever you are doing or wanted to do—for God.

- It is the time and season of circumcision; a time to circumcise your heart (Romans 2:29; Philippians 3:3).

- If you did go out to announce yourself before your time, the prince of the Air (Ephesians 2:1), the devil, could rise to attack and destroy the person of you and the work of Ministry you do (Luke 1:80).

- There is always a time to be prepared or made ready for whatever assignment you claimed to have been given by God:

"JOHN grew up and became strong in spirit. And HE LIVED IN THE WILDERNESS UNTIL HE BEGAN HIS PUBLIC MINISTRY TO ISRAEL" (Luke 1:80 NLT).

1 THEN Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and WAS LED BY THE SPIRIT INTO THE WILDERNESS, 2 BEING TEMPTED for FORTY DAYS by the DEVIL. - In some cases, If God wanted to start a new thing in your life or Ministry. That is, If He wanted to move you to the next level, the next phase of your Ministry or work, He would call you aside and may ask you to stop some things which you are doing at the time.

a. It could be that you need to stop some Programmes, or start some new ones, change the location of your work or Ministry, or whatever.

b. And if you were neck-deep in the work, in which God found it difficult to get your attention to communicate His mind, the new development, to you.

HE might permit a turbulent or a problem in the work or Ministry, or in your personal life.

WHEN you come to Him, in order to get or receive solutions to the turbulence, He would get or pass the message across to you—He would let you know whatever He wanted you to know.

- Know that God is a moving God, and He is not stagnant.

- What is being shared here, always occurred after you had waited and stayed with Him, and had allowed Him to have His Way in your life and Ministry.

- If you had not pass the test of the season of isolation, or hardship, God might not move you up—to the next level, or the level of being known, or having abundant Increase or fruitfulness.

- In other words, God would not announce you, If you had not passed the test, of waiting for the appointed Time.

* AND the child GREW, and WAXED STRONG in SPIRIT, AND was in the DESERTS till The DAY OF HIS SHOWING unto ISRAEL."

- This section of the teaching is fully Expanded in another article of ours.

- Note:

a. And the Child grew.

b. Waxed strong in spirit.

c. Was in the deserts.

d. Waiting till the Day of his showing or Manifestation unto Israel.

- Every Minister would pass through this process for Manifestation.

- The truth is:

a. There is a Time to grow in the knowledge of the Word of God.

GOD would take you through challenges of life in the Ministry work that you might be strong.

b. There is a Time to wax strong in the spirit. God would train you in the spiritual warfare and how to depend on the leading of the Holy Spirit (Judges 3:1,2).

c. The time to be in the deserts. This could be a time when you find yourself in the desert of finances, basic needs of life, or the desert of lacking in getting faithful companions—those to work with you for the Fulfilment of the Vision, and whatever.

d. The day of showing or Manifestation to the people. This is the time when your Ministry or work is being announced and the doors are being opened for you, either to spread your work, If it is church based work, or being invited to minister in other places; towns, cities, and Nations, which your work has never been to before.

- God determines the time of showing, Manifestation, of every individual Minister and their Ministries.

a. It is usually based on the cooperation and the yielding of the Minister in question, how he or she handled what they were allowed to pass through—when such was in the wilderness or deserts.

b. This time of showing or Manifestation is usually determined by the magnitude or enormity of the assignment which God has for the person.

* Listen, If you did announce yourself before your time, you might go into the oblivion. You become a nobody!

- Many Ministers who failed to pass the test of staying in the deserts, would always find themselves being driven to the deserts or wilderness, at one time or the other, in their Ministry life and journey.

- Such might never come to a place of rest and prominence. This could be the reasons why some Ministers have been on the same spot for many years.

* You will not miss it in Jesus' name.

- Whatever is contrary to your health is rebuked in Jesus' name.

- You shall live in perfect health all the days of your life in Jesus' name.

The Miraculous Beatles

Ok, so I love the Beatles, and I like the characters of Miraculous Ladybug (not the canon show). I decided to make an alternate universe where the 4 boys who in canon had a crush on Marinette are instead the Beatles of their universe. Actually, it'll be 5 soon enough, as Marc is their fifth Beatle and joins later. So they are all from Liverpool (except Marc who is from London) and they formed the group in 1956 at the age of 14. Also they are all middle class. Don't worry, nobody's gonna die and they don't break up after seven years. Also unlike John, Luka doesn't beat his wife or ignore his kid.

Luke Lennon (Luka Couffaine/John Lennon)

Birthday - October 9, 1942

Instruments played in the band - Vocals, guitars, keyboards and harmonica.

Personality - Luke's a mellow guy who has a bit of a rebellious streak in him. Luke is the heartthrob of the group. With his tousled, jet-black hair, he exudes an effortlessly cool and mysterious aura. Luke's soulful and raspy voice captivates audiences, and his lyrics often delve into deep, introspective themes. He and his twin sister Jules (Juleka) like to make weird songs together.

Adrian McCartney (Adrien Agreste/Paul McCartney)

Birthday - June 18, 1942

Instruments played in the band - Vocals, bass, guitars, keyboards and drums.

Personality - The babyfaced charmer of the group. With his striking green eyes and perfectly styled blonde hair, he's the poster boy of the band. Adrian's bass playing is both melodic and solid, providing the foundation for the band's sound. He's known for his upbeat and friendly personality, which draws fans in. While he may be the face of the band, he's also known for his humility and willingness to connect with their supporters. He and Luke form a killer writing duo, even though Adrian's showtunes and more upbeat material is sometimes referred to by Luke as "granny shit".

Nathaniel Harrison (Nathaniel Kurtzberg/George Harrison)

Birthday - February 25, 1942

Instruments played in the band - Guitars, vocals, sitar, keyboards and bass

Personality - Nathaniel is the creative genius of the group. With ginger bangs and a constant look of curiosity in his eyes, he's the band's secret weapon. Nathaniel's guitar skills are unmatched aside from his boyfriend Mark, and his songwriting is often spiritual and introspective. He's the quiet, introverted member, often lost in thought or doodling in his journal. Fans admire his ability to weave stories through his music, creating a unique and enchanting atmosphere during their performances. Nathaniel is gay and dating Marc, and the boys and their loved ones kept it a secret so that they didn't get arrested, since this is the 1960s in UK. It wasn't until 1967 that the two came out after getting married in 1966.

Nino Starr (Nino Lahiffe/Ringo Starr)

Birthday - July 7, 1942

Instuments played in the band - Drums, percussion, keyboards and vocals

Personality - Nino is the powerhouse behind the band's rhythm. His infectious energy and perpetual smile make him the life of the party. Nino's drumming is dynamic and energetic, providing a pulsating beat that keeps the audience moving. He's the joker of the group, always ready with a witty remark or a lighthearted joke to break the tension. Nino's charismatic stage presence and love for improvisation injects a sense of spontaneity into the band's live shows. It should also be noted that Nino is the only POC member of the group, with his mother being a Black Liverpudlian and his father coming from Morocco. He wears his background with pride, being one of the first artists to support the Black Power movement.

Mark Clapton (Marc Anciel/Eric Clapton)

Birthday - March 30, 1942

Instruments played in the band - Guitars, keyboards and vocals.

Personality - An tall anxious boy from London with a cockney accent who moved to Liverpool as a kid and befriended the other Beatles, who were his classmates. He soon fell in love with Nathaniel and they began dating. Mark is an absolute maestro with the guitar. His solos are legendary, evoking a range of emotions from raw, bluesy laments to electrifying rock anthems. His fingers dance effortlessly on the fretboard, and his mastery of the instrument is unparalleled. He is also a master songwriter, forming a lovely writing duo with Nathaniel and also providing songs with his other bandmates. The group had wanted him to join when they first started in 1956, but Mark had a huge fear of crowd's, and said he'd be fine as the unofficial "fifth beatle" until he got over his fear. This meant he would only go on stage if one of the other guitarists got sick, and for albums he would help write songs, provide guitar or background vocals, but never lead vocals. It wasn't until 1969 where he officially became a Beatle.

Well, that's the first part done. Next we'll look at how these guys are a lot more harmonious than the IRL Beatles. Then we will look at their manager and producer, their families, partners (For everyone except Mark and Nathaniel) and more along the way. See ya soon! For all the people Ashton has loved, it never quite crossed his mind how differently love exists. That sure, somewhere within the love between friends and family, romantic partners and the kind of love you extend to random people that come through your life, Ashton definitely put together that not all feelings of love are the same.

But when it comes to loving Michael, Calum, and Luke, Ashton has found that it’s not quite as simple as clearly-cut categories between labels on relationships. He might even consider it wrong to confine the feelings he has for them—in both degree and complexity—into something as simple as just romantic infatuation or as cut-and-paste as seeing himself with them for the rest of his life. Ashton definitely does, don’t get him wrong, but for all the love he’s experienced and given, it’s strange to come to an awareness that even when you think love is the same—even when you might even want it to be—it’s not.

That, to Ashton at least, it’s less of differences in relationships and more of differences in people that we love, that inspire us to love differently.

It’s Michael who says, “yeah, what was that about?” looking directly at Calum who shrugs nonchalantly.

“Dunno, I just felt like doing it,” he says, leaning back on his palms, still looking at Luke. “Luke doesn’t mind, do you, Luke?”

The truth is Luke does mind. He minds a lot. Not because he doesn’t like it, but because it messes with his head--leaves him feeling a little floaty and distracted.

“Oh hey, it’s my favorite customer!” he says with his stupid cute voice constantly sounding on the verge of laughter and happiness and sunshine.

Michael hopes his face isn’t as red as it feels, averts his eyes to shield them from the powerful glow Ashton always seems to emanate, “You say that to all your customers.”

Michael is a programmer by day, a vigilante’s guy in the chair by night, and a full-time admirer of the cute barista down at the coffee shop he frequents, and sometimes he wonders if everyone around him is way too dramatic or if he’s missing something.

Michael turns around, too, and he swears it’s like something out of a romcom. Luke Hemmings turns out to be a gorgeous 6′2 man with eyes so blue and the fluffiest blond curls he’s ever seen. Michael feels his heart rate bump up, up, up, faster, faster, faster, and his mouth goes dry and his eyes probably widen a little too much, but he barely registers the nerves. Instead, his brain takes note of exactly three things: the massive violet bush against his back that threatens to swallow him if he swoons, the smell of the rum that Jack is holding next to him, and the single clear thought his head will allow right now - this summer just got a lot more interesting.

》 Juno, force sensitive human mandalorian. Born in 14 BBY on Mandalore, 5 years before the start of the Empire. His buir took him out of the planet when the heat between the New Mandalorians and Death Watch got too dangerous for her to raise him considering not much of the True Mandalorians were left after the Battle of Korda Six. They lived fine for a year until until the Empire fully began. One thing led to another, his buir was killed, Vader and Nasty Man got their hands on him. They decided to keep him as Vader's apprentice in secret in order to have someone to use and keep Mandalore in their hands later on. Although, this didn't really last because the Night of a Thousand Years happened that very same year. So they didn't really need him anymore, but still kept him anyways. Palpatine didn't have much patience for him due to the boy being stubborn and refusing to be something other than a Mandalorian. Which is why he never truly fell to the dark side and doesn't have the yellow eyes. He's Mandalorain before anything else. So you know, trauma ensues, scars were made after the years from punishment. As much as he fought it, he ended up learning well from being forcibly trained by Vader. I want to say he escaped two or three years before the events of the original trilogy. For some reason they allowed him to keep his buir's armor so he had something to take, plus a large amount of beskar ingots he stole. Unfortunately, Vader caught up to him and the two had one last duel. The Sith Lord decided to "test" him and see if Juno deserved to be free. Like true Skywalker fashion, Vader cut off both his arms and left him for dead. Surprise, he didn't die and fortunately the planet he was on had a mod-parlor, so he got himself some cybernetics. Later he would use the beskar he stole to create neskar versions complete with the gauntlets. Years would pass, kept to himself in order to avoid being caught again by the Empire, which luckily not many knew of his existence anyways. He would later come to save Naro and Kesh from a slavers mines. They wouldn't leave him be so he has companions now. Empire fell, time went on and next thing he know he not only got adopted by the togruta and zabrack he saved, but also by the tried old man that is apparently Tatooine's Daimyo.

》 Yes essentially this is just my excuse for Boba to also have a force sensitive ad and Din to be omg we have two now so now Clan Fett-Djarin has two children and grogu has a big bro who wouldn't hesitate to murder anyone who dares to hurt him just like mama Din and papa Boba, probably a little more murderous considering he was trained by a Sith but shhhhhh we don't talk about that.

》 He used to wear a force nulling collar but came to terms with being force sensitive thanks to Naro and Kesh and later from his new aliit. Not used as often but still on occasions. He may be like eww no I don't want to be a Jedi/Sith, yet he still kept his lightsabers. He will probably end up building one for his vod, Grogu deserves one too. He was also really proud when he learned Grogu chose Din over training with Luke. Kriffing jetii and their attachment issues.

First Reading Malachi 3:1-4 The Lord you are seeking will suddenly enter his Temple.

The Lord God says this: Look, I am going to send my messenger to prepare a way before me. And the Lord you are seeking will suddenly enter his Temple; and the angel of the covenant whom you are longing for, yes, he is coming, says the Lord of Hosts. Who will be able to resist the day of his coming? Who will remain standing when he appears? For he is like the refiner’s fire and the fullers’ alkali. He will take his seat as refiner and purifier; he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and then they will make the offering to the Lord as it should be made. The offering of Judah and Jerusalem will then be welcomed by the Lord as in former days, as in the years of old.
