The scene where Drax pets Rocket in order to comfort him after losing Groot in the first Guardians movie hits so different now after watching Vol. 3. When Drax first puts his hand on Rocket’s head, you can see him tense up, probably because most of the physical contact he has had up until that point has been followed by the infliction of pain. It also broke my heart when I realised that this was also probably the first time that Rocket had ever been patted or stroked in an affectionate way by anyone in his life 🥹

i genuinely want the mcu to end so badly. the whole "every movie takes place in the same universe and they're all connected" worked well in the earlier days, but now it just hurts the quality. i would have loved to see what an ant-man 3 or a doctor strange 2 could have been if it didn't need to put aside its own identity in service of furthering a larger story. and as the release schedule gets more and more crowded, it just gets harder and harder to remain invested in literally anything.

petra quill & rocket raccoon in some top-secret, hidden, unfrequented corner of the eclector. you just know they've found this place and made it their own.

entanglement is one of my favorite comfort fics of all time and you should read it if you haven’t already. it’s perfection. i just wanted to draw petra & rocket in a moment of peace on the eclector, tucked away in a hidden corner. rocket’s studying for his exams, and of course he’s already made a second set of headphones spliced into petra’s. petra’s wearing the t-shirt and red flannel she’d had on when she was scooped, though they’re a little small on her now.

this was honestly so much fun to draw. so relaxing & peaceful to color that i practically felt like i was inside the picture. this is my first full-background in digital medium and i gotta say, i’m so happy with the way it turned out. i think i nailed the glow, even on the pipes and vents, which made it hard to pick a favorite (with or without extra stardust??).

@hibatasblog thank you for creating such a beautiful, lovely story, and sharing it with our fandom. i hope i did your babies justice, and i hope this drawing gives you the same feeling i get when i read (and reread… and reread) entanglement.

Rebels has been a comfort show for me longer than I’ve actually cared about star wars (my grade 6 self loved watching Disney XD on tv what can I say🤷🏻‍♀️)

And the main reason is because of how much the ghost crew loved each other..they were a family and I loved that about them

Anyways, I haven’t felt that same comfort until The Bad Batch and I just love it so much

I’m gonna feel super empty when this season ends :(

#star wars found family is everything to me #Star Wars has always excelled at the found family trope in a way I’ve never really seen before #Like I’ve been a marvel fan my whole life and I’ll admit the mcu has really only succeeded in found family with the GOTG #(you know…the movies that are heavily influenced by star wars)#But like I really feel like if I didn’t care about the relationships between star wars characters #I wouldn’t care about star wars nearly as much #even in the OT it took a while for me to care as much about that group because in that trilogy alone #we don’t actually see the relationships grow on screen aside from leia and han #so it was hard for me to get invested #watching the prequels is what got me to care about the OT characters #and watching TCW got me to care about the prequels #anyways what I’m saying is I love tbb and swr because I love watching characters become a family #yeah idk where i’m going with this #just felt like acknowledging it #star wars #sw rebels #tbb #the bad batch #swr #the clone wars #star wars original trilogy #star wars prequels #marvel #guardians of the galaxy #kate's post
