ellie was so incredibly whipped it was insane. she is absolutely head over heals for her girlfriend. she won’t shut up about her and brings her up into every single conversation she has. it’ll be a conversation that doesn’t even involve her and she says.

“hey guys did you know i have a girlfriend?”

“i have a girlfriend did you know that?”

“my girlfriend is amazing…did you know i had one?”

she will literally drop everything for her and would do absolutely anything she asks. with ellie being the dealer to pretty much everyone on campus she made a lot of money. so meaning she will literally get you whatever you want whenever you want it. you even show the slightest interest in something she will go out of her way to buy it and surprise you. she likes to spoil you and she knows you absolutely love it.

the only thing about this is the fact that ellie doesn’t realize how whipped she actually is. you stayed home because you weren’t feeling well while ellie and dina went to this party. ellie was there for strictly business and dina just decided to tag along. originally you were supposed to go like you always do. she liked having you there to basically be eye candy but she also just loved knowing you were with her.

you had gotten some cramps and had realized you had gotten your period. you just didn’t feel the best with the cramps and nausea rolling in with a headache. you simply didn’t want to go out. you told ellie it was okay and you didn’t want her to miss out on money. she was very wary knowing how emotional you usually get during your period and didn’t want to miss a moment where you needed her. you insisted and said you’d text her if anything happened.

so now ellie is sitting here laughing with dina about stupid frat guys not realizing you were at home crying because of dog tik toks and the pain from your cramps. you wanted ellie but you didn’t want to stop her from getting money so you decide not to call her.

this resulted in ellie being a little worried that you hadn’t even texted but tried to think maybe you had just fallen asleep? she texts you just in case to check to see if you were holding up okay.

ellie wellie🥰 hey baby are you holding up okay?

baby 🫶💞 hi i’m okay

ellie wellie 🥰 are you sure?

ellie knew you better than that so she slipped outside really quick to call you. ring ring…

“hi baby.”

“hi…” you said sadly and then sniffled.

“baby it doesn’t sound like nothing.”

“it is nothing i promise.” you replied trying to stifle yourself from letting out another sob.

“my love please just tell me should i leave? cause i’ll leave honey i’ll leave and take care of you.” she assured you as she was already texting dina to close up shop and that she’s ready to go.

“no no cause party’s make the best money i don’t want to stop that.” you could hold it in any longer and let out a small sob after.

“okay pretty girl i’m coming i made enough money i’ll be back home in 10 minutes. i love you sooo much.” you tried to protest but gave up and say i love you back. ellie hung up and headed back inside to grab her stuff and head out.

“is something wrong? you usually never stop selling this early?” dina yelled over the loud music as ellie finished up packing her stuff.

“the girlfriend needs me! i have to go.”

“oh no what happened?”

“she’s on her period!”

there was a small silence between them before dina responded.

“you are so fuckin whipped.” ellie looked over at her a little puzzled and scoffed.

“i am not whipped!”

“yes you are idiot!” they both made it out to the front and headed to ellie’s car.

“no i am not !”

“okay whatever you say you simp..”

“oh fuck off.” ellie responded and dina let out a laugh. they drove all the way back to campus which wasn’t too far. you all lived in the same dorm building so they both walked back together but ellie still liked to make sure she got back safe since you guys were on separate floors. she always asked dina to text her once she gets into her dorm.

ellie unlocked the door and was greeted with darkness.

“baby?” she called out but didn’t seem to get a response. she walked into your shared bedroom and saw you curled up into a ball sleeping away. she awed quietly. you just looked so cute she had to take a picture. she even has a whole album of sleeping pictures she’s taken of you.

ellie took off her shoes, pants and sweater off which left her in just some boxers and a tank top. she sets her keys down and goes over to you. she scoots you over a little not too much to wake you up. you grumble and turn over to face ellie. she frowns at your dried up tear stained cheeks.

she pulls a piece of your hair back and holds your face rubbing her thumb across your cheek. you look so breathtakingly beautiful even if you look so sad.

“els?” you groggily ask feeling her sudden presence.

“i’m right here my sweet girl.” you slightly open your eyes, slightly feels like there’s weights on your eyes from crying and still being sleepy. ellie leans in and gives you a small kiss on the lips. and you let out a small smile.

“there’s my smiley baby.” you giggled and hid your face in her shoulder.

“stop it.” you said muffled and she pulled you away to look at you.

“absolutely not i will never stop.” you playfully rolled your eyes and laid your head to look at her.

“you look so beautiful baby.” your face gets hot and red.

“thank you.” she smiles at you and starts to play with your hair. your eyes instantly feel heavier and you have the urge to go back to sleep.

“how was the party?”

“it was fine had a good time with dina and made some good money.” she smiled at you seeing how tired you look. it’s so fucking cute.

“that’s nice im glad my love.”

“yeah i was thinking we could go somewhere for dinner tomorrow? like your favorite place…and get nails done….and some shopping….and then come home with candy and snacks and watch your favorite movies…” your head popped up and you sat up quickly.

“really?!?”

“yes of course baby you deserve it.”

“YAY OH MY GOSH!!” you crashed into her and gave her kisses all over her face and stopped at her lips.

“i love you so much els.”

“i love you more my darling girl.” you stared at each other for a little longer and not a second later you both crashed into each other and were making out a little. you both pulled away and just smiled at each other just so in love with one another.

“so are you feeling better now?”

whenever i hear about ocon's parents selling their house and living in a caravan (iirc) i just feel so bad for him. it really reminds me of all those traumatised child actors whose parents quit their job because the child can now be the breadwinner. obvs it's two complete opposite sides of the spectrum but both are such unfair sitautions to be put in as a child! esteban needing to succeed because otherwise his family would be broke forever?? (also i know that these decisions are often mentioned in a heart warming "oh look at how much my parents sacrificed for my dream" -way, but i find it so hard to look at it from a positive light. i'm sure they did it all out of love but i just can't imagine putting your child in such a tough position and putting that much pressure on them. i guess i just lack that top performance athlete mentality lol.) not to mention that most of these racing children hardly have a plan b career plan since they usually drop out of school. so now you have a kid who single handedly has to save the family from financial ruin AND has no safety net or plan b whatsoever. that's just insane and it's no wonder esteban is like that. he really has the ultimate rags to riches back story but his history gave him such a massive chip on his shoulder that he's just become unlikeable, which sucks!!! wish someone would grab his shoulders and shake him around a little and say: estieee!! youve made it!! stop driving like losing would full on kill you and just focus on getting the best out of the car and be the best you can be!! you'd think that someone with his backstory would be the last person who'd need to be humbled, but fucking hell he acts so smug and can be so delusional it's exhausting.

I remember reading that once when I didn’t know too much about him and thinking, okay that’s a bit extreme. And then I thought about how much pressure that must have put on him. Pressure to succeed, but also just pressure in terms of that being not an ideal quality of life for a teenage boy. His parents made his life exponentially harder in every single way to support his hobby in the hopes that he could turn it into a career to support them. And then I thought about the fact that if he hadn’t been that 0.00001% that makes it, how much harder his life would have got, and how much guilt he would have lived with. They set him up to live with constant insecurity and instability, and to shoulder the burden of making that all worth it for them. Who does that to their child? I don’t care how talented you think they are, betting you’re financial security on that is imbecile behaviour. Even Esteban said if he were in his parents’ position he wouldn’t do it. Poor guy knows what it does to child.

It’s exactly like moving your kids to LA to be the breadwinner, except it’s worse because the amount of kids able to support a family on acting work is probably 10,000 times the the amount of drivers making enough money to support a family from driving alone. Statistically, there was a 0% chance that that gamble would pay off for them but they did it anyway. That’s worse odds than a slot machine. And they bet the house their son was living in?! Ew. Just ew.

And yeah, people say “look what my parents sacrificed for my dream” with affection when that dream has come true. But what would have happened if he hadn’t made it. “Look what my parents destroyed because they bet my future and theirs on my childhood hobby”. What in the damn hell. These stories are not in any way endearing to me - they’re just examples of narcissistic and irresponsible parenting.

And now I’ve just seen clips of a podcast he did talking about his childhood and I was almost tearing up for him. How he and his dad used to take tyres from the other kids’ karts out of the bins and reuse them because he didn’t have enough sets over a weekend, and how he didn’t go to birthday parties or on holiday because it was all focused on his racing. That’s a CHILD. And he was talking about how he and his dad would see Max and Jos and how everyone was intimidated by them but he and his dad weren’t…because they had literally bet their shirts on his career and couldn’t afford to be scared. That. Is. A. Child. What if he woke up one day and didn’t want to do it anymore? What if he wanted a life beyond what his parents chose for him by putting their lives on the line? Would he have been allowed to? I mean. No bloody words.

Again, anyone who says Jos is a problem father better be coming for the Ocons (and Anthony Hamilton).

The way he is is so clearly connected to the fact that he lived his whole life in survival mode. That guy moves through the world like the last meal he had was one he had to fight for in an abandoned warehouse. And fair enough it got him where he needed to go, but once you’ve made it, It’s the most unpalatable energy to be around, and it no longer serves you. And it also makes you look like an ass because how can you be a whole f1 driver and stink of desperation. Logically it’s clear why but it’s still just not a likeable combination. He probably knows that, but doesn’t know any other way to be. That’s why he has such an issue with teammates - he can’t not fight for things because he’s always scared someone is going to take something from him. He’s like a stray dog that you take in and they hide food in their bed because they think you might not ever feed them again.

I really hope he’s getting some therapy because the childhood is trauma-ing out in the open.

I think of everyone on the grid he’s the one I feel most sorry for, because of all the backstories that you hear, he seems the most unhealed.

But the levels of delulu is something else. That f3 season where he beat Max (racing for a top team while Max was in one that I don’t think had even won a race until Max won 10 in one season) really got him thinking they were on a level and he hasn’t let go of it since. He’s like “oh I look at it like I’ve never had the opportunity to go against Max because we’ve always been in different leagues of car”…as if there’s not a REASON. You’re out here like “he’s in a red bull” well why aren’t you? By your own admission you were on the same f3 track…helmut wasn’t looking for you bro.

Hope you don’t mind my essay back lol. I’m low-key obsessed with him because I find him so annoying but at the same time he’s like literary gold dust. He has such Main Character backstory. It’s just a pity he comes across so unlikeable to me. And the thing is, I genuinely think underneath it all he is a sweet person (delulu still, but sweet), but it just comes secondary to his survival mode personality.

"I've missed you so much." Felix says through laboured breaths. His lips attack every inch of your neck, face and lips. You laugh softly, holding onto his shoulders with your legs either side, straddling him.

"I've missed you too, lix." You tangle your fingers in his hair, tugging at the soft locks as his lips lock onto yours in a heated kiss. You had a free period, it's supposed to be a study period but you took the time to visit your boyfriend.

His dorm is empty, his roommates all in their designated classes, so it's just you and him and who knows what the two of you could get up to. You haven't seen him for a few days due to your classes clashing with each other. When you have free periods, he has class and vice versa.

Valentino grins at you as you enter his living room. You're visibly nervous; tugging at your earlobe and biting your lower lip. Yet, for all your nerves, if not downright fears, your steps are measured and confident as you walk over to sit next to him on the massive, overly spacious, red leather couch. Your high heels click against the polished floor.

No, you want him. With all his deranged talk, all the debauchery he has you put up with. It's all him, and that's who you want. It's who you desire.

"Yes," you breathe against his lips, closing your eyes a sliver once more.

"Well then," he grins and pulls back, simultaneously pulling out a small bag of white powder from a pocket in his long coat.

Your heart skips a beat, and you suck in a breath. Valentino hears, of course, and skewers you with his sharp gaze.

"Nervous?"

"Yes," you repeat.

He grins.

"Now, doll," he begins in a sultry drawl, removing the clip from the money, and puts the notes on the coffee table. "You just let Daddy take care of this, okay? Don't want nothing to happen to my favorite girl, now do we?"

You giggle nervously.

"Of course not, Daddy."

"That's a good girl."

He shakes out a - to you - sizeable amount of coke. When you had said that you had never tried hard drugs before, you had assumed you would start out with a small dose. Not... this much. This looks like it could and would put you six feet more under the ground.

But, being a good girl, you don't say anything. Nothing to disturb Valentino as he uses some of the bills to line up the coke in several neat lines. Nothing to suggest that you're getting cold feet. Because, oddly enough, while it is scary, you aren't getting cold feet.

No, you're actually... excited about the idea of doing drugs with Valentino.

So, when he pulls you between his long, skinny legs, asking if you're comfortable, you snicker and nod.

"Yes, Daddy. Very comfortable." As if to emphasize just how comfortable, you snuggle back against him with a loud, dramatic sigh of content. He purrs, kissing your cheek.

"There's a good girl," he murmurs. With his insane height, he can easily loom over you, and he does. His body towering above yours, two of his hands help yours to grab a bill.

He laughs. There's no mocking undertones this time.

No no, you start with this one," he points out a small, thin line in front of you, "and then you can do this one, if you're feeling brave." He points to another line, roughly the same size as the first one, but maybe a bit thicker.

You nod and swallow heavily.

"O...Okay."

He squeezes your shoulders before letting go of them again.

"No rush, baby doll. You can take your time," he purrs into your ear. "Daddy won't be mad. Promise."

You smile weakly.

"Thank you, Daddy," you mumble.

Squeezing the crisp bill a bit tighter, but without crumbling it, you lean down over the table. You position the hole of the tube over the start of the line, the other end of the tube at your left nostril.

"Remember, move quickly. Don't give the scary thoughts time to settle, baby." He sounds... excited.

You nod slightly and let out a deep, careful, shaky breath.

Then you do it. Moving quickly, while sniffing deeply, you end up snorting the entire line without difficulty. However, it stings something awful, and you wince once you sit back up.

Valentino is instantly over you, pushing you on your back and shoving his tongue in your mouth once more. You moan excitedly, grabbing the front of his coat, and return the kiss as best you can.

"That's it. I knew you could do it, baby," he purrs once he pulls back. "I knew I did right by making you my favorite."

The coke isn't kicking yet, but you know that Valentino has access to, and only dishes out, the purest drugs. Something tells you it won't take long before you're high out of your mind.

Dustin looks puzzled at the dumb struck look on Eddie's face and the love sick one on yours, puts two and two together and groans.

Eddie ruffles his hair as he passes walking up to you and feeling nervous as hell.

"You're y/n right?. I'm Eddie". You nod and take his hand feeling really shy.

"Yes, and I know. Dustin talks about you all the time, how cool you are, about your band Corroded Coffin, Hellfire".

You spend the next minute grinning goofily at each other and making conversation about his band.

Robin and Nancy seeing how the two of you are acting slyly seat you together and wait for the magic to happen.

It doesn't take long because Eddie is determined he is in no way letting you slip through his fingers and turns to you with a hopeful grin.

"Hey, my band is playing tommorow night, you wanna come and hang out? Maybe catch a movie afterwards".

Despite your heart racing you desperately try and keep cool.

"Are you asking me on a date Eddie?". His smile grows a little more confident as you lean into him and he nods his fingers entwining through yours.

"Yeah". You beam and nod trying so hard not to do a little happy dance at this.

"Okay, you're on, you have to teach me how to play guitar though, Dustin says you're insanely talented".

With that impish grin and hopeful look in your eyes Eddie was sure he would give you anything you asked for, he was always sure he was going to be wrapped around your little finger.

Question Starters

"Do you feel alright?"

Eugénie doesn't expect the boy to come look for her because, frankly, she doesn't expect to be the person he needs, right now.

Not that there are many people left, honestly. Sophia is gone. Geppetto is gone. Antonia is wasting away to nothingness, and Polendina is an ever vigilant shadow by her side, as helpful and devoted as he always was. If there weren't a thousand and one things Eugénie can and must do to keep herself busy, she wagers she'd be going insane at the moment, what with the world falling to pieces as she speaks.

Still, fixing things is her job and her vocation. Perhaps taking a hammer and some boards to the walls of Hotel Krat might be a slight misuse of it, but weapons and machinery - that she can still do blindfolded, so when the boy comes and wordlessly holds out his legion arm for her to inspect, she accepts it without question, clearing some space on her cluttered worktable and turning on the nearest lamp. She might not be Mr. Venigni, but that doesn't mean she's useless, thank you very much.

He remains silent as Eugénie pokes and prods at him, but that doesn't faze her - he's a quiet one, this guy, always has been. She's plenty used to having to fill the silence herself, and heavens, does she need to, presently, with the doom and gloom still hovering over their heads. "It's not doing too bad- you took good care of it, you know? I just need to replace a couple springs in here."

No answer, which is just typical. What's not typical, however, is the way he seems to freeze at the words - Eugénie lifts her head from her work, pushing her glasses up to squint at him, and finds him staring vacuously ahead, all tense and curled up on himself, the other arm tucked in the folds of his coat. "Do you- are you feeling alright?"

It wouldn't be unheard of for him, to be hiding some sort of injury or- or mechanical damage, she guesses. He seems the type to avoid drawing too much attention to himself, especially at a time like this, with their generous host dying a painful death and after what Geppetto tried to make him do. Eugénie is quite ready to bully him into getting a check up, personally, but before she can conjure up a good scolding he pulls his hand out, dropping something on the table between them.

It's not blood, or grease, or, God forbid, a metal plate from his chest. Instead it's a pair of leather gloves, wonkily stitched but brand new, clearly never worn before. Eugénie chokes out a gasp, despite her best intention - she recognizes those gloves, because of course she does. She made them, after all. She made them for Alidoro, long before he...before they...

"Where did you get these?" She asks, breathlessly. "Why do you have them?"

Once again, she gets no reply. What she gets, instead, is the legion arm pulled out of her weak grasp, almost guiltily and still half-opened, and a weak, low voice whispering: "I'm sorry."

"I don't understand. Why- what happened?"

"I lied to you. Alidoro never...he said they were rubbish, but I knew it would make you upset, so I didn't tell you. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that."

"Oh. I see." Eugénie glances down at the gloves again, feeling a small shiver run through her like a drop of icy water. She is a solid, practical woman, she's always thought, but these things look as dark as a bad omen, right now - the betrayal is a sharp stab in her chest, but then again she should have gotten used to it by now, shouldn't she?

"I guess I should have seen it coming," she hears herself say, distantly, forcedly light, as though it came from someone else's mouth. "He was never as nice as I'd remembered him, once he got here."

"That's because he wasn't the real Alidoro." He hasn't raised his voice even a smidge, damn him. Eugénie has to strain to hear him, and yet she feels as if paralyzed, hypnotized by what he has to say. "The real Alidoro is dead. That man killed him for- for gold. He'd been lying to everyone about his identity, for months."

"How- how do you know that? When did he tell you?"

"After the Alchemists' attack, I- I wasn't looking for him, but he was in the path, and he was cowering, and- and then I killed him."

Where earlier he was as still as a slab of stone, now he's shaking like a leaf, a full-body tremble that goes from his hair to the tip of his shoes. His face is crumpling into something that might be fury, or shame, or even just realization of all that's fallen on their shoulders; if he was capable of crying, Eugénie thinks he would be, by this point.

"He called you a stupid girl," he continues, and he's never sounded as hoarse as he does now, nor as emotional, far from any other puppet she's met before.

"He lied to you and- and he said you were the reason why he told the Alchemists about the hotel, and I know he was just a coward, but he- He did all that for money, and he couldn't even be nice to you. And he used me. I- I shouldn't have done that, but I'd seen the hotel and I was so angry-"

He won't meet her gaze, but Eugénie simply stares at him as he trails off all the same, hands folded in her lap. There is a cynical, logical part of her that tells her that she should be angry, horrified, even, at all these lies and tall tales, at a friend of hers killing a man out of pure frustration, like a rabid dog. This is what she would have done, no doubt, before Hotel Krat was destroyed.

But Hotel Krat is in shatters around her, and all she can think of is this boy, this angry, fragile thing that isn't fully human and yet isn't a real puppet anymore, who's had to watch his father die after being forced to make many a terrible choice and still wanted to come clean about what he did in the name of caring for her, as though that was the worst mistake of his life. As though it had been the last straw who managed to break his back, even after Simon Manus did his worst to get the same result.

She could be giving him any of her usual witticisms, right now. Instead, she gets up, slowly and without a word, and steps around the table to get closer to the boy, wrapping her arms around him.

He startles in her grasp, stunned, but Eugénie doesn't let go. He smells of gasoline and decay, and this is hardly her preferred method of comfort, but all of it only makes her hold him tighter, and for a split second she almost forgets who's actually holding who upright, in truth.

"Thank you for telling me the truth," she whispers, low enough that it doesn't echo, even in the hotel's cavernous, suddenly too empty arched galleries.

"And- thank you for trying to spare me, earlier. I know you only wanted to make me happy. It's not your fault that any of this happened. You were just trying to do the right thing."

There is a lull of silence, one that seems to stretch for decades. Then, haltingly, the boy lifts his arms and clings to her, the motion feeling nearly desperate, like a child begging for company after a long, dark nightmare even if the chandeliers above them are still burning sun-bright. He doesn't stop shaking, but it seems more focused, almost, true relief instead of simple rage.

And all throughout that Eugénie holds him, waiting for the moment to pass, watching those small, blasted, handmade gloves just lay there, innocently, mockingly, amongst her beloved tools.

My honest opinion on the FNaF movie

(I'm sorry if anything is wrong, It's 2 a.m. rn but I need to get this off my chest)

BEFORE WE START: I will admit that I'm 100% biased, I grew up with FNaF and never thought I'd ever see this movie for multiple reasons, so actually sitting in the theater and watching this beautiful disaster unfold was a truly magical experience. I cried during the credits so yeah. With that being said:

1. The spoiler-free part

Ok there are some things we need to lay out right from the getgo

1) This movie caters to:

a) fans who want to see a somewhat new yet familiar story in the FNaF universe

b) casuals who aren't immediately dismissive of everything that's happening and actually TRY to give this shit a chance

2) It's no secret that they changed many things in the story and if you genuinely thought they would adapt the games 1 by 1 you are just delulu I'm sorry

Overall, I personally really liked the movie and I would recommend it. It had many little easter eggs for hardcore fans and a story that pretty much anyone can understand

2. The spoiler-heavy part

(aka pretty much everything important)

Alright, let's talk about the most controversial part:

The Afton children aren't the Afton children anymore.

So Mike Schmidt, who we know is Michael Afton under a fake name in the games, is in the movie literally just Mike Schmidt. Some guy.

Garett, this movie's version of the crying child, is Williams' first victim, not his child who was killed by accident.

Abby, who would technically speaking be the movie equivalent of Elizabeth, has also no connection to Afton.

AND VANESSA, who we met in AR, Help Wanted, and Security Breach, is Williams' only child??

Yeah it's kinda fucked.

HOWEVER, I do think that this is an amazing way to include all the important characters in some way.

If we had told the actual story of the Afton children, eg. the crying child and Elizabeth dying, this would have pretty much meant that everything else in the story had to be adapted too for everything to make sense which is simply impossible. Like straight up.

So writing a new story including all the past protagonists is a very logical decision (+ I'm pretty sure that there was a theory that Vanessa is some sort of Elizabeth reincarnation even though I think that it was disproven very quickly but yeah, there's that)

BUT this story change leaves one big plot hole:

Why the fuck is William Afton a murderer??

He went insane in the game after his son died which led to him killing Charlie (daughter of Henry) out of spite in a drunken rage afterward.

In this movie, he's just a little goofy and funny and kills children for fun, whatever ig

And yes, the fort scene might have been a teeny tiny bit cringe but I mean, these are dead 10 year-olds so their request is pretty legit tbh. "Why don't these kids grow up 🙄" IDK MAYBE CAUSE THEY ARE DEAD?? BFFR

And everything, I mean fucking everything, is better than a "Let's go Fazgang!!!"-scene

BUT WHY ON EARTH DOES THE CUPCAKE HAVE SO MUCH SCREENTIME?? What the fuck 😭

OH I FORGOT the opening scene in the arcade-minigame style was magnificent 💞

I also would've liked that Williams' death would've been a little bit more violent, it was a little too soft. And I also don't get why he was "killed by the cupcake" and not through a malfunction caused by water like it was in the game?? It would've worked just fine. However, since the movie is rated pg13 in some countries (16 here) it's understandable that it isn't too brutal

And, let's be honest: the movie was carried by Matt, TLT, and Cory

But I love the little easter eggs?? Dream theory, the FNaF World Rainbow, it's so cool I loved it

2. the guy was just an asshole! which is frequently the case with men in collegiate sports in my experience! if he’s already a bit of a dick and he figures out that the slippery little guard he’s assigned to seems to be favoring his left shoulder, he’s probably going to do the asshole thing and go for that left shoulder side to psych him out or get him hurt enough to be pulled from the game. men are ridiculous

3. he’s not fine :( my poor baby. my precious boy. we’ll get into that a bit more in the epilogue.

4. i KNOWWW omg sirius’ backstory is a doozy. part of the reason this chapter took so long is bc i had to completely change my outline for the rest of the story bc i could not get myself to sit down and write 10-15k words of all of sirius’ trauma in detail. like i didn’t really feel great ab writing remus’ either but sirius’ chapter specifically left me w a bad feeling every time i tried to chip away at it, it was super depressing & felt deliberately mean to sit there & write all these things happening to him:( we’ll get a bit more detail in the next chapter, bc being back in new york is obviously going to bring some things up and it will be important for him to share what he’s feeling when it does, but it’ll happen in a way that lets him look back on those memories gently & with compassion for himself rather than a way that gets him stuck in his head reliving it. that’s my bby & he’s not going to feel hurt or sad or upset anymore in this fic, we’ve put him through enough

5. i ALSO love how gentle remus is w him like UFHFHFHFHFHFHF my heart. they both deserve to be handled with such patience and love and care & i’m so glad we finally got to the point in the story where they get to have that security & experience all those nice moments. they deserve it !! they’re perfect your honor !! never done a thing wrong, either of them !!

ok so. shauna's relationship to motherhood has always fascinated me. when i first watched yj it was all in one night, in a haze, during a not-good-mentally period in my life. so it took me an embarrassing amount of episodes to go from 'oh she hates callie bc callie's wilderness baby and thus a reminder of everything that entails, both jackie-related and trauma-related' to 'OH callie can't be wilderness baby, timeline wise, which adds an even more insane level to shauna returning to jeff post-crash'. bc the decision to date him let alone marry him has always been sooo interesting to me!! like yeah we all knew why but like, how did it happen? how long after the crash? did he call her up once she got out of hospital? did she go back to school? was it another drunk grief hookup thing again, but one that spiraled into more? did they discuss jackie at all? iirc, when he reveals he's read the diaries, he implies they never talked about the 19 months which is why he read them. but did they ever discuss jackie, separate to what happened in the woods? or was she the eternal elephant in the room? i mean, yes it's canon that shauna marries him out of guilt and shame and obligation, but the CALLIE of it all is the wildest part to me. bc she's pregnant with his baby, and then jackie dies and the baby dies, and then she goes back and has anotherrr baby with him, in spite of everything!!!!

so melanie p much saying 'she can't keep justifying her decision to not have kids with him, so they have one'. is like. well she's right!!! i can 1000% see jeff pushing to have kids and shauna, unaware that he knows about wilderness baby and not wanting to tell him, agreeing to it bc a) she'd rather die than talk about it honestly, b) the guilt of it all, and c) well that's what normal suburban heterosexual couples do isn't it?? get married and have kids!! and to me jeff has always been that guy, which he even admits in canon! he was always gonna be the high-school boyfriend to jackie, but that's his life role, too: he stays in his home-town, he owns a business in his home-town, his only friend is his teen bestie, etc. he's the suburban straight guy who doesn't properly wash his underwear, whose wife cooks every meal (that he still complains about), who thinks flavored lube is too kinky and weird and gay for him.

and it annoys me that the show doesn't even lean into the horror of that, let alone like...the genuinely terrribleeee things he does. like if you're not gonna frame it as devastating, tragic, claustrophobic, and miserable that shauna marries jackie's very Normie boyfriend and has another baby with him, that her whole life has become a jackie altar and not what she herself wants, then at least frame it as awful that he blackmailed her and her friends using their trauma??? HELLO???and i hate that the adam thing kinda like. made them ~even~, narratively, or at least made people forget about jeff.

and if you're NOT going to make it a heterosexual horror story, AT LEAST make him the wifeguy people insist he is online!! what REAL self-respecting wifeguy would turn down strawberry lube or panic when their wife grabs the gun from the guy holding them at gunpoint!!! and i mean, his reactions (to the gun thing at least) are valid and normal, ofc he'd freak out, majority of us would too. but this IS a tv show, he's not real, and you can't have him be the freaked out, 'you're out of control' husband and the 'my wife can do no wrong' husband ykwim. (me & rose talked about that angle specifically here)

but also YES it's legitimately evil for jeff to not tell shauna he knows about wilderness baby and for him to just then. keep bringing up having another one. the most generous reading i can give him is that he also, of course, feels guilty about jackie, and his desire for marriage and children with shauna is driven by that, but again: he knew he was only ever the high-school boyfriend, so. and what melanie said in that interview IS right but it's not being said/implied/explored in canon, and i worry that if it was then again, it wouldn't be shown as the horror it is, so i'm almost glad?? bc i'm not sure the general audience would see through that and view it as evil either.

anyways, jeff n shauna to me is like. does she love him? probably, in some way, on some level. i think she enjoys his company sometimes, i'm sure they have happy memories together etc. but he will always be a reminder of #everything. and so will callie! and i think that's just a more interesting dynamic to explore!!! (though tbh. loveee the goat stuff, but shauna just kinda. saying everything so explictly to lottie did feel like a telling not showing, exposition moment. as did the fact that it was a KID like sometimes this show is so subtle and other times it's incredibly not ajdksjask.)

um anyways it's 4am. i need to go to sleep. i am probably forgetting something bc i have So many thoughts about shauna + motherhood ESPECIALLY in the teen timeline which i didn't even touch lol, and how it connects to adult timeline but i do wanna give the writers temporary benefit of doubt just bc we've still got 2 eps left. so who knows what'll happen. me personally i'm hoping jeff dies and/or goes to jail and we explore the complex web of feelings that shauna and callie have towards each other, and they change their names back to shipman. i think it's rly funny and sad and tragic that callie doesn't care that her mom's a killer (well, she does), she's just so happy her mother's being honest with her. </33 also just love women who aren't naturally maternal and aren't good mothers but they're not villainized for it, and it's also not a one-dimensional portrayal either.

(final note that i LOVE is that in the original pilot script, shauna has another kid!!! callie has an older sister!!! soo curious whether she was meant to be a surviving wilderness baby or if they had another kid post-crash...jeff im in ur walls regardless)
