History:

Thulites entire existence was bare-bones in her mind, the one job that was bestowed on her gem kind was a thankless one, even if they did put actual effort into it. Making whatever areas they were assigned to presentable and beautiful in whatever ways were requested. But did this job deserve respect or even a simple thanks? Not the hierarchy apparently. Thulite seemed to be the only one of her batch that seemed to want more and wasn't happy with her life.

She had begun hearing rumours and stories, about a duo of rebel gems that have been thwarting any attack and small operations of Homeworld. These stories intrigued her, and she admired these rebels in her mind. How courageous they were to go against the system they were all forced to be apart of. She wanted that so bad, to be apart of that... but what could she do? She was but a lowly Thulite, all she was made to do was... make measly flowers. So she could only dream.

Little did she know her chance was in her future. She would be sent with her usual group to a new developing colony. Once she arrived, expecting another boring batch of thankless work, she began hearing rumours. That the rebel duo have been seen around the planet. A sparkle of hope sparked inside her, hope that she'd be able to see these two with her own eyes. Thulite didn't expect it to happen but...the hope was there.

Suddenly commotion could be heard in the main area, a fight! It was the rebels! Through the crowd she watched, the speedy Benitoite dashing through it all and the flying Heliodor, using his 'defect' in a way no one would expect him to. It was a wonderous sight, she had to fight every instinct to not smile.

She then quickly noticed how the Benitoite was quickly going to be cornered, more soldiers were coming up behind him and he didn't notice. No. It couldn't end this way. Not like this. NO!

The commotion froze for a second, and eyes were on Thulite. Before she could even realise what she had done, vines had already spawned from the ground, tangling the homeworld warriors and saving the Benitoite. The looks of shock quickly turned to ones of disgust and anger. Aiding a rebel? What was wrong with her?! Thulite was already getting surrounded and threatened with treason and shattering but then was swept way in a flash! Suddenly she found herself picked up and carried by that same blue gem, smiling down at her in thanks as they sped to their ship.

And thus was the start of a beautiful trio and many more adventures to come... and a crush.

Gemuary 2023 Day 19: Zoisite

Zoisite comes in many different varieties, like the pink thulite, rare blue tanzanite, and green anyolite, one of my personal favorites, which frequently contains these sweet ruby inclusions. I always thought anyolite looked like the flesh of a ghoul. This one is also based on kintsugi, the art of repairing broken bwls and stones with gold-dusted lacquer.
