"Mm? What was that?" Looking at you carefully, Manjiro looks down at your wrists, he had never even noticed those marks before, as soon as he noticed them, he already knew what they were.
"W-what?" You questioned, lowering the sleeves of your blouse at that same moment, already knowing that Manjiro had just discovered that you were injured.
"...Are those cuts? Did you cut yourself?" Gently taking his hand to your face, making the sleeve of your clothes go down again due to the lightness of the fabric, Manjiro questioned what those marks were.
Nodding your head in affirmation, you gave your answer, making Manjiro stare at you in complete silence for a few brief seconds that felt like an eternity.
"M-mikey...? I'm so sorry." The boy looked away, seeming to get lost in his own thoughts for a moment.
Approaching again, he subtly held your arm, looking over each of those marks. "...It was my fault, wasn't it? Did I make you do it?"
"No! I-it wasn't your fault, I-I..." Immediately, you tried to explain yourself to Manjiro who just shook his head in denial.
"Promise me, swear to me, that you will never hurt yourself again." Holding your hand again, he spoke in a serious tone, Manjiro was shaking and apprehensive, still feeling responsible for having made you do such an act against him.
"... I promise." Hugging the same, you made your promise.
"I don't want to lose the only person I have..." Returning your display of affection, Manjiro hugged you carefully.
𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐳𝐮 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐲𝐨
"Princess... You don't need to hide it from me anymore, I've already seen it." Without you waiting, Haruchiyo spoke as he sat down next to you and held your arm gently, you could see exactly the pain in his eyes as he stared at your arm knowing that he had been injured.
"I'm so sorry..." Holding back the tears in your eyes, you just apologized to the taller one.
"You're not to blame, you're not to blame for this! It was me who caused this..." He tried not to blame himself, but the weight of seeing you suffer made it really affect him with a great guilt for not having simply avoided that discussion.
"It's not your fault, Haru." You wanted to calm him down, but as much as you could, he didn't seem to accept that.
At that moment, Sanzu stared at you in silence, even though he didn't show his feelings with such felicity, he had his moments that he considered a "weakness".
"... I know how you felt because of me, that fight, Damn! I... I never wanted to be an asshole to you, I'm sorry." Trying to control the tears that wanted to be released, Sanzu said almost like an outburst.
"Don't blame yourself, please Haru..." Still trying to comfort Haruchiyo, you made your speech.
"I don't want to see you cutting yourself anymore, okay? Don't ever do that again." Breaking the silence, he said looking away.
"R-right..." You promised indirectly, making him feel better.
"Hey?" Haruchiyo approached you and gave you a kiss, trying not to dwell on the subject too much.
𝐊𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐨 𝐇𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐨
"Who did this to your arm? Did something happen? Baby?" Kakucho would be extremely worried when he held your arm and saw those newly made marks, as much as he didn't want to accept it, he definitely already had in mind the reality that you had inflicted those injuries on yourself.
"...W-Was it, you?" When he found the courage, he took a breath from the bottom of his lungs and asked his question, even though unfortunately he already knew the answer.
"I'm sorry Kaku, I didn't want to disappoint you." Seeing him worried made your heart sink, but at that point, there was nothing you could do to continue hiding that secret until then.
"No, don't say that." At that moment, Kakucho hugged you without thinking twice, all he wanted was to make you feel comfortable even in the middle of that situation.
"You will never, ever be a disappointment to me, I'm so proud of you." Pulling away from the hug and looking directly into his eyes, the taller man said what he had in mind.
"Look at me." Again approaching, he cupped her face.
"Mm? Kaku?" Looking into his eyes, you wondered what he wanted.
"Never hurt yourself again." In a serious tone, Kakucho continued his speech while looking at his eyes with the same sparkle as always.
"... I promise." Looking away a little embarrassed, you promised.
"No need to promise, my sweetheart, I trust you." Holding your face gently and still looking directly at you, Kakucho would speak with a small, relieved smile.
𝐊𝐨𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐢 𝐇𝐚𝐣𝐢𝐦𝐞
"Don't do this to me, sweetie." Kokonoi unexpectedly appeared behind you, fixing his black lined eyes on the newly healed marks on your arms.
Taken by surprise, you tried to hide those injuries with the sleeves of your sweatshirt, but you already knew that everything had simply been discovered. "What do you mean, Koko?"
"I want to say that I know that you're hurting yourself." Approaching you and lifting the fabric that hid the marks, Koko said as he looked away.
At that moment, you only managed to remain completely silent, he knew, there was nothing left to hide, Kokonoi was definitely hurt and you couldn't help but be sure of this fact.
"I-I'm sorry!" Hugging him, you began to apologize with insistent tears slipping from your eyes.
No matter how disappointed he was, Kokonoi would never deny your hug. "Oh? Baby... I'm so sorry. For anything I've done, I'm truly sorry."
Koko looked at you with sadness in her eyes, at the same time worried, he hugged you still in silence, without being able to utter a word.
"I'm sorry Koko... Please." Again, you apologized.
"You're forgiven, baby, don't ever do that again, please." Breaking the silence, Kokonoi made his speech, obviously he would forgive you without thinking twice, despite that, he would start paying more attention to your behavior and would also try to avoid arguments for your well-being.
𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐮 𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢
"Shit, what was that?" Rindou exclaimed in a low, barely audible tone as he looked away from the apparent injuries on your wrists.
The silence became almost sepulchral when he held your arm, running his fingers lightly over those bruises, Rindou hugged you, feeling your body trembling and your heart racing.
"...Don't do that to us again, it hurts me as much as it hurts you." The taller man expressed himself calmly, pausing in his speech to look for the right words out of fear of hurting you even more.
"...Damn, I-I, I hate seeing you hurt, I'm so sorry." Holding his arm, his voice no longer maintained the same tone, he could no longer deny himself the urge to cry, in doing so, tears secretly rolled down his face, Rindou was being sincere when he said how bad he felt for seeing her so sad.
"I'm sorry, Rin." Making him let go of your arm, you apologized in a few words, he remained silent, but soon ended up pulling you into a hug.
"Promise me, promise me you won't cut yourself again, especially because of someone else like me." The seriousness in his look and intonation was visible, Rindou was sorry for that argument, so he promised himself that he would treat you better.
"I promise!" Hugging him back, making him calm down and feel better, you made your promise.
"I love you so much, I do, nothing like that will ever happen again..." Rindou said with a subtle smile of relief on his face as he gently stroked your hair.
𝐑𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢
"No, you didn't do that, did you?" Shaking his head, Ran asked you with a worried look as soon as he noticed those newly made marks on your wrists.
"I'm sorry..." Looking away, you knew that at that point there was no longer any way to hide it from Ran.
"I'm the one who's sorry, my princess." Looking somewhere, shame and guilt showed on his face, Ran definitely felt it.
"It wasn't your fault, Ran." You said as soon as you realized how affected he became in that instant.
"Yes it was, we both know, but it doesn't matter now." The taller one held you gently in gis arms, kissing your forehead, Ran said with a trembling voice worried about what he had caused.
You spend some time hugging in silence, all Ran wanted at that moment was to comfort you and show you that he was right there by your side to take care of you even if he sometimes ended up behaving inappropriately.
"I'm here and I don't want you to hurt yourself again." Breaking the silence, the taller one spoke calmly, still with a trembling voice.
"I am not going." In a low tone, you said, hugging him tighter and calming him down.
"Will you promise me, my beauty?" Hugging you even more eagerly, Ran made you promise never to get hurt again.
“I-I promise…” You made your promise without thinking too much.
Ran pulled away from you and kissed your forehead, becoming more at ease with his promise, he would rather trust you. "That's better, my love."
𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐨𝐦𝐢 𝐀𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢
"What the fuck happened to your arm?" Takeomi was never so serious, seeing those marks on his arm really made him bitterly regret all the harm he caused you.
You remained silent, just hoping Takeomi would ignore those fresh scars.
"...You, were you the one who did this?" The older questioned again, Takeomi approached you and lifted the sleeve of your blouse, leaving the marks even more visible, that time, you actually realized that he was sincerely worried.
"Don't fight with me again, Takeomi, p-please." Worried about what Takeomi might do, you just started apologizing.
"Fight with you? Of course, not!"
Unexpectedly, Akashi hugged you, in that same hug, you could feel the apprehension in his behavior.
"Promise me you'll never get hurt again by an asshole like me." Pulling away and holding you by the shoulders, Takeomi spoke.
"I promise." Embracing the same, you made your promise.
Takeomi couldn't help but return the hug and did so. "I'll take better care of you, I'll..."
𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐢 𝐌𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐳𝐮𝐤𝐢
"What are you hiding from me?" He had already seen the marks on your arm, but honestly Kanji had no idea how to deal with that subject without ending up hurting you.
"N-nothing, Mochi." Apprehensively, you spoke, trying to separate yourself from that question, even though you knew he already knew about your injuries.
"... Don't lie to me." In a serious tone, he said.
"Don't fight with me, please!" Bracing yourself for the worst possible reaction, all you could do at that moment was apologize.
"Baby? I would never fight you over that, I just don't want you to do it again." Even though you still felt like he was being insensitive in some way, Kanji spoke trying to get you to just trust him.
"I'm sorry." Lowering your head and looking away, you said in a shaky voice, still trying to keep those marks away from Mochi's eyes.
"Look at me, please, look." Holding your face, he made you look back at him.
"Hm?" Seeing that he wouldn't fight with you kept you surprised and relieved at the same time.
"Promise me you'll never get hurt again because of me, I promise I'll never be stupid to you again." Still maintaining a serious tone and a steady gaze, Kanji spoke.
You were silent for a brief moment, but you wanted to promise that. "I-I promise."
Kanji smiled in relief and hugged you, leaving that subject aside, even so, he would change his behavior to never see you hurt again.

Heatherway Hollow Volume 02
By: Momo Lady
Tumblr media
Monster Scale
Level 02: Mostly Human But Minor Differences
Most of them are werewolves, and also have knots. Most sexy times take place with them transformed.
My Overall Rating For The Book
“I Bought The Book/Series And Want Them Signed Please Holy Shit”
I prefer Volume 02 over Volume 01, it has more of my personal favorites not just Big Billy. It’s a lot longer.
Now I’m basically going to copy and paste what I mentioned in the last post:
I’d love to have physical copies of these collections, they are so sweet.
Literally the only gripe I have with them is that if these were an actual physical book, I think it’d be great to have a reader go in to spot for spelling mistakes and makes sure the fonts are consistent sizes. The formatting is a bit off.
These stories are 10/10s, they are so much fun. I’d love to see a full length novella or book in Heatherway Hollow.
Overly Simplified Summary
This is a collection of short stories by Momo Lady (most of which I think are commissions?) that takes place in the town of Heatherway Hollow, a small town that’s populated by werewolves and humans. When a werewolf finds their true mate, they do a courting ritual to win their mates hearts. Each story is contained in a chapter and is around 3,000 words, so these are very quick reads.
If you want a bunch of short and sweet werewolf smut, this is the series for you! Everything is available online for free on Momo Lady’s tumblr, but you can buy collections like this on her ko-fi.
Keep reading for ‘This Book Has Everything’, possible Trigger Warnings, and quick thoughts on every short in the book!

[x] Second chance relationship
[x] Main character gets chased in the woods by the love interest at some point
[x] Straight
[x] M/M

Bondage in Jaspers story
[x] Holiday season vibes
[x] Love interest is an absolute cinnamon roll
[x] Lead or love interest has a disability
Delaynie’s story has a leading lady with schizophrenia.

Akafuri Vampire AU
EXCEPT! Furihata is the Vampire and Akashi is the human.
Furihata is about a century old. He is very tired, very done and does not have the energy to deal with young vampire shenanigans. He’s part of a coven called Seirin(hshshs very creative ik) and he’s in that age range where he isn’t old enough to deal with the big problems, but isn’t young enough to avoid dealing with vampire politics entirely.
Akashi is the heir to the Akashi conglomerate and the canon shit with his dad happens. He’s still buddies with GoM and plays b-ball. AND he’s a vampire hunter on the side. He comes from a family of hunters.
One night, when a newly turned vampire goes blood-hungry crazy and starts rampaging through town, Furihata is left with the duty to get the vampire under control before he actually kills someone. Akashi’s close by and is alerted of the presence of two vampires and goes hunting.
Furihata has shit mostly under control since he dealt with this, like four times already and went through it himself when he turned so he knows what the newly-turned would do. But Akashi jumps in outta nowhere and now Furihata has to deal with Akashi too, who is like 2 seconds away from destroying them both. Shit goes down, the newly-turned vampire bites Akashi. Furihata saves Akashi and knocks out the newly-turned. The newly-turned is fine since they drank Akashi’s blood and Furihata asks them to get back to the coven base and report on what happened to Riko, who is coven leader.
Now Furihata has a famous, extremely powerful, vampire hunter DYING in his arms and he knows that if Akashi dies, Seirin is fucked, Papa Masaomi will destroy them. So in a last ditch effort, he turns Akashi. Hey, at least he is not fully dead. Just...undead.
Akashi wakes up and he doesn’t know wtf to think because he never really cared for vampire hunting, he did it for his family legacy and for his father. Now that he’s a vampire, he can’t use any of his weapons since it’s all coated with silver and has holy water infused inside.
Now Furihata has to teach Akashi to be a proper vampire that doesn’t alert humans that he is, in fact, a mythical creature.
Cue Akashi jumping up flights of stairs and Furihata having to run after him and explain to him that even if it IS convenient to just shoot up the staircases by holding onto the railings, humans don’t find that shit NORMAL.
This entire fic is just Furihata babysitting a very clueless Akashi who’s having an existential crisis because his entire purpose is gone and his idea of humanity, his plans for life and his goals are now in the trash can. Also his dad probably got the excuse he needed to kill his son. Fun stuff.

Akashi Seijuro x Chubby! Reader
A/N: This is probably the worst lemon I have ever written, fighting through writer's block is a bitch. All characters are aged up to adults and in college.
Title: My Empress Fluff and Lemon Warning: Sexual mentions
Another moan escaped your lips as his hands up your thighs and gently stroked your lower lips. He was teasing your body, despite your multiple protests of the treatment. But this was your punishment for breaking the number one rule he had for you. Degrading yourself. He had over heard you talking about how fat you were, and you were pinching, lifting, and marking your skin. He completely snapped which led to your current predicament.
"P-Please, Seijuro more! I can't, this is torture," you whined. He smirked and leaned down to your plump thighs and bit down marking them. You let another whine, as he slid one finger into you.
"You don't get to enjoy yourself yet, you are being punished. Or did you forget you broke a rule?" His voice was low, and it sent shivers down your spine. He curled his finger inside before adding a second one before he began to scissor you.
"I am sorry Sei~ it won't happen again."
"I know it won't," he said. You blushed as he leaned over you and captured your lips in a breath taking kiss. You tried to kiss back, but his fingers were working their magic inside of you. As soon as you felt another release come, he pulled his fingers out again. You let a groan out and he gripped your chin as he parted from the kiss.
"Please Sei, I learned my lesson."
"Have you? I don't think you have. I want you to beg, and tell me what you want."
"Please Seijuro, I want you inside me."
"Be more specific (Y/N)."
"I want you to fuck me, hard and fast. I want you to make me cum."
"Tell me that you are beautiful."
"I-I am beautiful."
"Say you are perfect."
"I am perfect."
You were squirming as he watched and leaned back with that knowing smirk.
"Tell me you are my empress, and that you will love your body from here on out."
"I am your empress, and I will love my body from here on out."
"That is a good girl, you deserve your reward now."
Seijuro suddenly thrusted his cock into you, causing you to let out another loud moan out. From all of the teasing, he was able to slide in with ease. He wasted no time in thrusting into you, the force of his thrusts caused you to arch your back off of the bed. You wrapped your arms around him, pulling him down again. You pressed your lips against his to try and quiet your moans. Though that was a mistake on your end. He bit your bottom lip tugging on it before thrusting harder into you. There was no way you could keep quiet now not with how fast Akashi was going, it wasn't long before he was pounding into you non stop.
You forgot that he had a lot of stamina and strength due to basketball, so when he lifted your leg over his shoulders your mind went blank. You began to see stars as he pounded into you relentlessly.
"Seijuro! I-I am close!~" You moaned and the way his name rolled off of your lips caused him to grip your waist tighter and pound into you repeatedly. You squeezed your eyes shut as you grip the sheets, the familiar feeling washing over you.
"I am close (Y/N)... cum with me." He whispered against your ear. You began to tighten around him, and you came hard. A few seconds later he released inside of you, filling you to the brim. He slowed his thrusts down a bit before finally pulling out. You let small whimpers out as you felt his arms wrap around your plump form.
"I love you (Y/N), don't put yourself down ever again even if I am not around," he mumbled. You turned to him after catching your breath, and blushed as you nodded.
"I love you too Sei, I won't."
"If anyone ever teases you about your weight, let me know. I will make everything okay, just don't do it. I love everything about you, my empress."
"How many times have I told you not to call me that? It's embarrassing," you huffed.
"You told me a lot but I don't care. I am your emperor and you are my empress, so you are going to have to deal with it."
You rolled your eyes but smiled as you placed your lips against his before cuddling into him again. You both fell quiet, and you felt your eyes grow heavy.

You too🥺. The emperor here is aged up.
Tw: Yandere themes, unhealthy mindset, unhealthy relationship, possessiveness, obsessiveness, controlling behavior, manipulation, brainwashing
Prompt 54: “I don’t mind being a monster as long as I’m your monster.”
Tumblr media
A cold shudder was snaking it’s unstoppable way up and down your body, blood feeling like it had stopped flowing a long time ago in your body and tears threatening to spill out of the corner of your eyes as your mother gave you a confused look.
“(y/n), you don’t look really good right now. Are you feeling well?”
You didn’t. Something inside of you was fighting it’s way out of it and you almost swore that you could feel the bile pushing it’s way out of your throat alongside with the tears who were starting to interfere with your clear sight. Words were scrambling themselves into unintelligible sentences, you had too much to answer and say right now. Yet you knew…she wouldn’t believe you. Your own mother wouldn’t believe you. How could she when she was completely blinded by the man calling himself your fiancé?
His sharp gaze felt like it could pierce your skin at any moment, the very silent warning to better not even risk trying a futile attempt to say anything. And as fast as those words were about to linger on your tongue, they died up as you felt yourself shrinking under his mighty eyes, fear quickly whipping you into shape. Instead your eyes instantly dropped down, avoiding to look into their faces. The chance of bursting possibly into tears was too perilous. The slight shaking still made it’s way out of your body as you realized the full weight of what was happening in here.
Feeling the firm yet warm squeezing of Akashi’s hand as he laced his fingers with yours did nothing to help your anxiety, instead it made you feel all the more like wanting to die.
“(y/n) hasn’t felt really well this morning. I apologize, I shouldn’t have taken them out and instead guaranteed that they’d feel better. But they were so excited to see you again, I had a hard time rejecting their wishes. But I think now we should head home, I promise that I’ll nurse them back to health personally.”
He sounded way too smooth with his words and you knew that he could sell his lies perfectly to everyone around him who remained unaware, you had been like this at the beginning as well. Your teeth were sinking into your trembling bottom lip as you were biting it, feeling the horror settling in more and more as you became more and more aware of what this man was capable of.
“It’s been so long since I’ve seen my child the last time, ever since you came, they haven’t had that much time for their father and me anymore. But I know how worried you’d be otherwise and as their mother I don’t want them to be sick in any way.”
She sounded disappointed to let you go so soon again, but you strictly refused to hope that she’d want you to stay longer. You had no real hope left, his overwhelming and ruling power had already sniffed out any real sort of this emotion, but right now he had completely shattered your stability.
“Thank you for your understanding, Misses (l/n). The next time I’ll bring (y/n) over, they’ll be in top shape. Greetings to your husband, it’s a true disappointment that he wasn’t able to take free time.”
The slight yet commanding pulling on your hand which was still intertwined with his automatically managed to bring you back on your two feet, your mind just silently and dejected doing what he wanted you to do. You were utterly devastated, too helpless to reject and so you just obediently let yourself get dragged away from him, croaking out a goodbye to your mother without turning back.
The whole car ride you didn’t speak a single word, your heart and mind unable to cope with this fatal blow you had just received. You felt nothing yet anything at the same time, creating something entirely new in the process. Only subconsciously you noted that Akashi didn’t let go of your hand during the whole time, rubbing soothing circles into your cold skin.
Even leading you gently with one hand on your hips upstairs to your shared bedroom as soon as you two had arrived at his home as of cautious that you might lose strength in your knees and collapse otherwise. It was the last bit of nervously baled strength that kept you from doing so, though you could almost feel this inner fire of yours burning lower and lower until it was on the very verge of extinction. Your knees felt like they were made out of gummy, like you had never had any sort of bones in them to begin with and as you started visibly wobbling the last few steps, you felt the grip on your waist tightening just the tiniest bit to give you enough support.
It was only after you heard him gently closing the door behind you that you finally lost all sort of strength, the slamming of the door working like the last drop needed for a barrel to overflow.
Sobs started to escape your mouth as the tears finally fell down your face, the water feeling like it would boil your cold skin. Your legs finally gave away as you sank down to the wooden and neat floor, feeling the trembles and cries through your entire body.
Some part of you was yelling, roaring and hitting around itself the moment you felt him pulling you into a hug meant to comfort you yet it only served as another dagger plunged into your heart. You despised how he could do such terrible and cruel things to you and the people around yet still acting like he cared and truly loved you.
Worst was that you wholeheartedly bought it, believed that he truly loved you in a way fitting for a self-claimed emperor like him. That was one of many reasons you didn’t fight him and his affection back in that moment even if one part of you wanted to claw at his eyes, to get rid of that cursed golden eye of his that was a bad omen for everyone around him. But you were too weak, too helpless to do so.
Except him you had no one else to comfort you with your pain to top that, Seijūrō never let much people interact with you. Humans needed other humans and contact every once in a while which was why isolation was a very effective torture, one that inflicted harm on you.
“You brainwashed them. How could you? How could you do that to your own parents-in-law, my parents?”
Fragile, like your current condition sounded your voice, about to shatter with every word that you spoke. The image of your mother, her look full with adoration and gratitude towards Akashi as if he had been some sort of saint when in reality he was the devil in disguise. To think that he didn’t shy away from anything to guarantee that he’d always have the last word and tie you to his side was a nightmare from which you couldn’t wake up, forced to live inside of it forever.
“That’s exactly why I had to do this. I respect your parents (y/n) and I want to have a good relationship with them. That’s why I had to do it. I was never planning on harming them permanently, I just wanted them to accept me. I won’t let anything get in between my love for you. If they would have been anyone else than your parents though, I would have dealt differently with them.”
It was completely out of your wildest imaginations how a human could talk so casually about threatening and blackmailing people like it was every day’s business, but Akashi made it sound exactly like it. Like it was nothing at all. The disregard he held for those he deemed as little insects and the way he guaranteed hell for them if they were to test him was enough to clench your stomach whilst your heart hammered against your chest.
Just because they were your parents had he spared them as kindly as he had and yet the consequences had been critical.
“You’re a monster.”, you pressed out, giving it your best to not let fear cause your voice to crack.
The slight chuckle coming shortly after from him had you full on flinching, seemingly not minding what you had just said.
“I don’t mind being a monster as long as I’m your monster. You’re the one who made me this way after all and I love you for it. With that being said, don’t you think that with that it’s also your responsibility to make up for your fault?”
He had bent his head down, a bone chilling stare drilling itself into your very soul, thus paralyzing your entire body. The emotions reflected inside of his orbs made a new urge to cry dwell up inside of you.
“My methods might be indecent from time to time, but I loathe losing more than anything. And you…you are far too precious. I could never lose you. I’d rather rip out my own heart than seeing you living a happy life without me and in the arms of another. Don’t you see in what miserable situation I am in because of you? Thanks to you I’ll never be able to feel content again unless I have you by my side.”
Your heart was pounding so loudly that by now you were terrified that someone from the servants and maids from the household might hear it and the way Akashi had started caressing your hair gently only fueled the dreadful twisting in your stomach.
“But you don’t have to be worried. I’m not an ordinary monster, I’d never truly harm what I hold dear. I know after all how to cherish and love you.”
A doll would have suited that spot better in your opinion.

Burn Before Reading (Part 6): Takeomi Akashi x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
synopsis: Takeomi Akashi never wanted to attract too much attention - because it always brought some ne'er-do-well to his doorstep. But at college, he seems to have attained (and retained) the ire of the Head Bitch on Campus, i.e., you. And it’ll take a miracle for you to leave him alone.
wc: 1.1k
tw: none
previous part💋 masterlist 💋 next part
You can't focus on shit.
"So we might want to make this picture bigger because we want the product to stand out..." Dan drones on, his finger pointing at the lady holding a fake present.
Your mind barely focuses on the picture in the presentation and instead takes note of how Takeomi's writing down information. His arm flexes as he jots down notes, and it makes you feel hot in the cheeks and in between your legs.
"It'd be better to have the font center around the --"
"I think we should change the color," you interject over Takeomi, making your other groupmates glance between the two of you.
"Uh," Kita breathes. "So... we center and change the font color?"
"Probably a light yellow to attract people's eyes to it." The discomfort in the room is palpable, but Takeomi just huffs a breath and goes back to taking notes.
"What? Not going to say anything?" you ask him, raising a brow. He looks up at you with the same unamused glance from your dream. Your thighs quiver as he frowns briefly before he tucks his bottom lip in and squints at you.
"This is a group project," he begins. "You want to do the bare minimum and get a bad grade? Be my guest." You stiffen, inhaling sharply.
"I'll present it, then. I'm sure that I'd be less of an imposition that way." You gather your items and leave, rolling your eyes at the thought of even really meaning what you said. "Fuck this project," you hiss to yourself. "Fuck Takeomi."
But of course... you don't mean that either.
_____________________________________________________________
Iota kappa's doors swing wide open for Takeomi.
"I'm pleasantly surprised to see you here," Ran muses, tilting his braided head to the side. "Want anything to drink?"
Takeomi mumbles a "yeah", walking into the large house carefully.
"Beer, wine, water?"
"Do you have Heineken?"
"On tap," Ran joyfully announces, patting a white leather couch before sauntering into the kitchen. Slowly, Takeomi lowers himself onto the item and stares at the pole facing him. Ran reappears and catches his gaze, laughing.
"You like that? Izana had it installed for Kakucho's twenty-first birthday. Izana gets more use out of it than he does, though."
Takeomi chuckles nervously, wiping his palms on his jeans.
"Came to ask a few questions." Ran nods, motioning toward Takeomi's glass before sipping at his own.
"Fire away, Aniki."
"Y/n--"
"She hasn't been around here lately, Ran immediately answers.
"Oh," Takeomi murmurs, sipping at his beer. "Anything going on?"
"She's been on edge, so she just stopped hanging out with me. Even her friends are I kind of... "He pauses, thinking of the word. "Shut out."
"Any big fights or...?"
"Not anything I couldn't handle." The huff of laughter from Ran is all too telling. "Why do you ask?"
"Well, I--" A loud yawn echoes from the upper floor. Ran looks up and murmurs,
"Rin's up from his nap. Hey, Rin!" The shout is answered with a loud, "huh?" Takeomi sits up a little straighter, trying not to think about the information he knows. Not yet, at least.
"We're talking about y/n; come down here!" Rindou jogs down the stairs, only in a white tee and boxer shorts.
"What about her?" Ran pats the bean bag next to him. Takeomi breaks out in a cold sweat, watching the younger Haitani plop onto the piece of furniture and sigh.
"How she's been distant, bro."
"The house has been quieter."
"Dude," Ran groans. "Stop saying that."
"You're making a big stink about a girl you don't even really like." This is news, Takeomi notes in his mind. Your boyfriend doesn't even really like you? So, does what happened between you both really matter?
"That's not fair--" Ran quips, frowning.
"Did I lie? Did I lie, though?" Rindou answers, staring at his older brother without amusement. "You're only doing this because of dad's relationship with her family. Don't lie anymore."
"Wait," Takeomi interrupts. "You're saying this is an arranged thing?"
"It's complicated," both brothers answer at the same time.
"So..." Takeomi isn't sure where to begin, so he starts where he knows the most information. "You know I came to ask about y/n." Both men nod, and Takeomi pulls out his laptop from his backpack.
"Before you ask me to ask her to leave you alone, just know I won't do it for free." Ran chuckles, leaning forward. "And if you came here to tell me about her sleeping with someone else on the trip, I already knew that, too. That's not a bargaining chip; just between you and me, though? I don't give a shit." Takeomi chokes on his beer, placing it on the table between them as he coughs harshly.
"That's not what I came for." He clicks open the information he wants to focus on, then looks back up at Ran. "I mean, you already know about the South situation, I assume."
"Yeah," Ran shrugs. "I mean, it's unethical to lie about that kind of shit, but I really don't discuss what happened with him."
"How do you feel about that, though? Truly?"
"Truly?" Rindou eyes his brother as he leans back in the bean bag. "I think it's fucked up. But..." Ran shrugs again. "I didn't have a horse in that race, so to speak. I mind my business."
"And she really doesn't interact well with the rest of us anyways," Rindou grunts. "She hates that he gives us goodnight kisses." All of these things check out, Takeomi notices. These are all things you've written down in the diary.
"So what about Sam?" Rindou stiffens and Ran eyes Takeomi carefully, knitting together his brows.
"What about her?" Ran murmurs, and Takeomi raises a brow.
"I'd think you'd have something to say about the way she drove her and Rindou apart." Ran's grip on his glass tightens, and Rindou pales.
"What?" Tread lightly, Takeomi tells himself, steeling for the onslaught of anger at the information he's about to reveal. He turns the laptop around to face the two men across from him and lets them read the information on the screen. Ran and Rindou take their time before Rindou lays back on the bean bag, looking at the ceiling. Ran stands up immediately, pulling out his phone before Takeomi stops him.
"No, no, no," Takeomi calls out. "Don't."
"That bitch convinced Sam to break up with Rindou because she didn't want to go on double dates?" Ran shouts. "I swear to God--"
"I have a plan," Takeomi interjects. "Don't worry. I've got a plan to make all of this right."

Ahhhh I accidentally deleted your first ask @tilli-chan bc I’m a big dummy. I remembered the request though and I wrote it. I hope you like it!!
Scenario: Akashi’s s/o talking to his maids about him and his childhood
You were over at Akashi’s house one afternoon because you wanted him to help you prepare for an upcoming test. It was your first time visiting his house, even though you’ve been dating him for a few months. That was mainly because his father was usually home and Akashi didn’t want him to know about you. He knew that his father would only see you as a distraction and it would only make it harder for Akashi to be with you. However, his father was abroad on a business trip for a few days so you were finally able to visit the place Akashi grew up in.
You knew Akashi’s house would be big, but you were still taken aback when you actually saw it. As you walked past the well kept front lawn, you couldn’t help but smile at the thought of a small Akashi Seijuro running around on it without a care in the world. After ringing the doorbell, you patiently waited at the front door, looking around and admiring how lush your surroundings were. The door was soon opened by a kind eyed woman that wore a maid uniform, “You must be Mr Akashi’s guest,” she said with a smile as she opened the door wider to allow you some space, “please come in.”
You thanked her and you began to take your shoes off. As you set them aside, you noticed someone approaching you out of the corner of your eye. Looking up, you saw Akashi standing a few feet away from you with a gentle smile on his face. “Oh hey Seijuro,” you greeted.
“Hello my love,” he replied, placing a small kiss on your cheek as he walked with you into the lavish living room, equipped with high ceilings and a gorgeous fireplace.
“This is such a nice place,” you said, as Akashi led you into a separate room, which seemed to be a study. The room had two large bookshelves, filled with books from top to bottom. If you stared at it long enough, you’d think you were in a library.
Akashi pulled out one of the two chairs that were tucked into the large desk that stood in front of the window and looked at you, “Here take a seat, let’s get to work,” he said.
“But Seijuro, this is the first time I’ve ever come over. I thought I’d get to see your bedroom and maybe some baby photos,” you pouted, though you still sat down.
“I was planning on showing you that stuff after we were done.”
“You were planning on showing me your baby photos?” you questioned. You were expecting him to put up more of a fight about the photos, rather than suggest it himself.
“Well, no. But you seem to be interested in it, so so I don’t see why not,” he shrugged before taking his seat on the chair next to you.
You began to study with Akashi, though all you could think about was what his bedroom would look like and you couldn’t help but get excited. A few minutes into studying, Akashi excused himself to use the washroom, and you were left alone in the study. You heard a knock on the door, and when you turned around you saw a lady that wore the same uniform as the one who answered the door earlier. However, she seemed to look a bit older. “Hi, I have some tea for you. Where’s Mr Akashi?” she said, approaching the desk with a tray in hand.
“Oh he went to the washroom,” you informed.
She set the tray down on the desk and poured the tea into one of the cups before handing it to you. “I hope you don’t mind me saying this, but you’re a very pretty girl,” she smiled at you. “Mr Akashi sometimes talks to us about you, you know? He really likes you.”
Hearing that made you get flustered as colour began to rise to your cheeks at the compliment, “Thank you! What’s Seijuro like at home?” you couldn’t help but ask.
“He isn’t home that much because he usually has basketball practice and he sometimes goes to ride his horse on his days off,” she told you, “but when he is home, he’s usually cooped up in his bedroom, practicing the violin or studying.”
“Yeah, that sounds about right,” you giggled, “how long have you been working here?”
“I’ve been here since little Seijuro was born.”
“That must mean you have some good stories about him!” you said, unable to contain your excitement.
“Of course I do,” she said, her mind seemingly beginning to reminisce about the past. “But you’re busy, I shouldn’t distract you.”
“No, it’s fine. Tell me the funniest story you have,” you requested, looking at her with the widest eyes ever.
She took a minute to pick a story to tell you before finally deciding on one that brought a smile to her face. “Mr Akashi used to cling onto his mother a lot as a child and he always used to cry whenever she’d head off to work. So one day, he managed to sneak himself into her car and his mother didn’t even realise he was there until she took a wrong turn and he suddenly said, ‘mummy, isn’t your office the other way?’ His mother was so startled that she screamed and she had to pull over. He was still about 5 years old back then, so it was hilarious to his mother and I,” she explained, letting out a few small chuckles when you began to laugh.
“What was his mother like?” you asked her, wondering if she was any different from Akashi’s father.
“She was such a lovely woman,” the maid said to you, her expressions softening into something more sentimental, “I’m sure you know that his father is a strict man. However, his mother was quite the opposite; she brought warmth into every room she was in. She was such a kind spirit.”
Your heart began to ache for Akashi. It must have been so difficult to lose someone that was so uplifting and kind-hearted. “I wish I could’ve met her,” you said, your smile faltering as you took a sip of the tea.
“Well, I should get going,” she said softly.
“Actually, do you mind telling me a few more stories about Seijuro?” you said quickly.
“I don’t know—”
“What’s going on here?” Akashi’s voice suddenly cut her off, startling both of you as you looked over and saw him standing by the door frame.
“I was just asking her about what you were like as a child. I can’t believe you snuck into your mother’s car when you were five,” you said to him, noticing how he began to get a bit embarrassed.
“I was a child, you can’t blame me,” he said as he got back to his seat. “Shouldn’t you be working?”
“Oh, I’m done with these questions,” you said looking down at your completed work before enthusiastically turning back to the maid, “I want to hear more stories about Seijuro.”
The maid continued to tell you stories about his childhood. Like how once, he had to do a worksheet in kindergarten that involved getting a cat to a bowl of milk by solving the maze in between. However, he simply just drew a line around the maze, connecting the picture of the cat to the bowl. The teacher still ended up giving him a gold star for it. He also tried to teach basketball to his horse once, which you thought was the funniest thing you’ve heard in a while.
Despite the slight embarrassment from his end, Akashi didn’t stop her from telling you about his childhood. He thought it was sweet that you were so intrigued about him. Furthermore, he absolutely adored watching how your face lit up and listening to your giggles as the conversation continued.
Eventually, he had to intervene and stop the sharing because he wanted to get back to studying. At that point, you were well informed of dozens of stories that you didn’t object to getting back to your studies. You thanked the maid and turned back to your books.
“You were a very interesting child,” you chuckled as you began to write down some notes.
“Is that a good thing?”
“Of course!” You said almost immediately before looking at him with a cheeky grin on your face. “I bet those baby photos are adorable. I can’t wait to see them.”
“What’s adorable is how happy you are over these things,” he said, unable to wipe the smile off his face as he looked at your beaming expression.
“I just want to know more about the person I love, that’s all,” you said simply, getting slightly surprised when Akashi suddenly pressed his soft lips against yours. “What was that for?” you asked when he pulled away.
“Just for being so cute,” he said smoothly.

Part 1~ Awaited Encounter
15 years ago Akashi's pov
A larger hand gripped my smaller one, leading me down the crowded halls. My large eyes scanned the color coated walls with boredom. A sigh came from my thin lips as my gray boots squeaked against the pale red tile.
My mother walked through the school with a warm smile. She greeted others as she passed by, almost forgetting about my existence. "Are you ready Keiji? This is your first day of kindergarten! You're growing up so fast." I looked up to my mother and forced on a small smile.
If I knew turning five meant this, I would have never done it. But here I am, walking through my first school ever. Pre-school was easy, all I did was color and sing songs from time to time. The best part was that no other kids bothered me.
Even at my young age I have already decided to be a loner. It's not my choice, other kids just find my face scary looking. It might be because I never smiled, and I rather not force one.
Me and My mom stopped in front of the light green door. On the door were handmade flowers, one had my name. Many adults have told me I am very smart for my age, but it's not something I pay attention to. I am only in school to get by, that and there is nothing else to do.
My mom gripped the handle and opened the door at a slow rate. Cold air touched my face once the door was fully open. Taking a look inside, I could tell this teacher must love flowers. They decorated the walls and tables, as well as the ceiling.
Small children were accumulated at different desks, all looking for their names and assigned seats. The tall teacher greeted and welcomed us in. My mother and her talked while I walked around the room. Finding my seat was easy, I was in the back right corner of the room. "Nice and quiet." I blurted to myself.
Parents started to leave the area. Some hugged their kids, some cried, but me and my mom only waved to one another. I pulled at my chair and took a seat. The desk was separated into two, meaning I would have to share.
Hopefully my desk-mate would be quiet, and calm like me.
"Hey hey hey!"
My small body tensed from the loud sound before I turned and saw golden eyes staring down at me. The pair of eyes were mesmerizing and keen, I almost couldn't look away. The eyes belonged to a gray-haired boy who was tall for his age.
Chubby cheeks and arched brows came into my view as my gaze zoned out. The boy had two missing front teeth, but that didn't stop him from grinning. His faded black and gray hair was parted into two, making him look silly in a way.
"You said hey three times." I stated with a frown. Please tell me he isn't sitting next to me.
My head turned to look at the name on the desk. Bokuto Koutarou. While I read the name, the boy squinted at it with a confused look. "I don't think that's my name." He whispered with scrunched brows.
Relief washed over me, "so you're not Bokuto Koutarou."
"How do you know my name?!" The gray-haired kid jumped back with wide eyes. My eyebrow twitched in annoyance; don't tell me he can't read his own name. There is no way I can stay with this kid without my brain cells melting.
Bokuto balled his hands into small fists as if he were about to fight. "Are you a staker?"
This time I grew the confused look, "you mean a stalker?"
"SO YOU ARE ONE!" Bokuto exclaimed, stepping back farther. I winced from his loud tone, "do you have to be so loud?"
Bokuto put his hands down and walked closer to me. His golden eyes scanned me with concern, "are your ears ok?" His bigger hands touched my small ears, examining them as if he were a doctor. How could this kid go from hostile to caring in a split second?
"Yes, my ears are ok." I assured him. The satisfied look Bokuto grew made a knot form in my stomach. What is with this kid? Why is he so caring?
The gray-haired boy pulled out the chair next to me. He took a seat, swinging his legs in the air and practically bouncing out of his seat. "What's your name?" Bokuto's golden eyes landed on mine. His gaze showed his undivided attention.
His stare made me hesitate, "Akashi Keiji."
A large toothy grin grew on the kids face, "it's nice to meet you Agashiii!"
"It's Akashi." I corrected with pursed lips.
"That's what I said, Agashiii."
"You're still not saying it right."
Bokuto puffed out his cheeks and round tummy, "yes I am, your ears are blind."
I took a deep breath, "you mean deaf."
"huh?" Bokuto tilted his head in bewilderment. "Nothing." I sighed, waving it off and rubbing my temple.
Once the teacher started talking, I tried to tune Bokuto out. Let's just say it didn't work. The boy was full of energy and wouldn't STOP speaking. He rambled along, messing up words and definitions. "You mean allergic." I paused after the statement, realizing that I was actually paying attention to what the boy was saying.
"Thank you Agashiii!" Bokuto smiled before continuing. Eventually, I gave in and started giving Bokuto my full attention. It was weird, it was as if what the teacher was saying didn't matter anymore. All that mattered was Bokuto's terrible pronunciation and grammar.
Papers were passed around to each child. The assignment was simple, so I started it while Bokuto spoke. I passed crayons to him when he asked and spelled out Bokuto for him to write.
"Agashiii! Agashiii!" Bokuto exclaimed in his usual loud tone. I winced and applied more pressure to the crayon I was using, which Bokuto noticed. "sorry sorry Agashi." The gray-haired boy whispered. I shook off the loud noise and gestured for him to speak.
"Look Agashiii, I finished the assignment."
The paper slid across the light brown desk to my side. I stared at the paper shocked and confused. "Bokuto, you were supposed to draw something you find important. Why did you draw me?"
I looked up to meet the innocent eyes of my desk-mate. "Our friendship is important to me." He blurted out with no hesitation. I was taken back from his words, swallowing before looking back at the photo.
Bokuto was no artist, but that didn't stop the slight heat from rushing to my cheeks. I grabbed the closest crayon and started to sketch out Bokuto. His bright eyes watched every move I made. When I was done, I looked to the side while showing him my paper. "You're on mine." I stuttered with flushed cheeks.
The thin paper left my hand, "Agashiii..."
I swallowed again and turned to Bokuto.
"This looks nothing like me! You're not a good drawler." The gray-haired boy laughed, clutching his stomach and the paper. His laugh made me more embarrassed than I already was. "Sh-shut up! Give me it back Bokuto!"
Bokuto stopped laughing, his bottom lip pushed out and his eyes began to water. "but... but I want to keep it Agashiii."
Once again I began to blush. It was a rough drawing that took less then ten seconds to complete. Why would he care so much about it? "You can." I mumbled, which made Bokuto smile. He then handed me his paper and told me to keep it.
Looking down at the bad drawing, I couldn't help but smile. I made my first friend that day. It was the best day of my life.

So. I made a bet with my friend that I could get through Omegaverse Haikyuu fanfiction because he says I can’t so if I read https://archiveofourown.org/works/13330632/chapters/30514041 that I’m going to get free icecream and twenty bucks.
But still, Bokuaka! Bokuaka is beautiful, I should rant about it more actually
This is me talking about this fic as I read, so it’ll be updated until I finish
Note, I’ve finished and it’s very very long. You’ve been warned
There’s my review and meta at the end of this as well as some critiques
Spoilers ahead.
“The Jewel of Seijou”
THE WHAT NOW
IWAOIIII
Bokuaka is so fucking cute dear god.
Oh. It’s sinful now
Ushijima better stop throwing shade at my boi’s
“"I can't believe you all think that you can go against the crown and live!" Ushishima says silencing them all. The alpha was slowly emitting his pheromones wanting to show them all his superiority. No one said a word against him. "Toru! I didn't know you'll be as lowly to use your family name to gather us here!" The alpha seethed to the omega that could have been his wife. Iwazumi hackles raised and bared his lips at the beginning of a growl. "And you!" Ushijima turned to Bokuto full on emitting his pheromones making the rest of the alpha's shoulder hackle cautiously and Oikawa to cling at Iwazumi. But Bokuto meet Ushijima calmly, unfazed by the bloodlust while Akaashi was frozen to his spot but didn't show any emotion.”
So what we get out of this paragraph is
1) Bitchy Ushi. I love Ushijima don’t get me wrong he’s precious but like. This fic Ushijima? Son of a bitch walking up in here like “Toru! How dare you be so lowly—“ and fucking trying to dominate everyone.
2) Protective Iwaizumi. Protect the precious Seijou Jewel. Do it, fight for him, protect him he’s scared.
3) Is Ushijima salty because Oikawa didn’t choose him? Oh god, he is isn’t he.
4) Akaashi’s go to emotion isn’t emotion.
5) Shits about to go down, Bokuto is gonna flip eventually, if Ushi threatens anyone—it’d probably be Oikawa or Akaashi seeing as they’re omega’s—I can see Bokuto and Iwaizumi just flipping their shit.
God I’m way to invested. Why did I read this
USHIJIMA IS A COWARDLY LITTLE BITCH IN THIS FIC, STAB HIM HINATA
D O I T
Awww Kageyama cares, Tsukki cares
OH MY GOD TENDOU!
More people came surrounding them. "What the hell," Akaashi recognized Iwazumi's voice.
Iwaizumi’s reaction is the only respectable reaction.
Wait this has major character death in the tags
Fuck
Everyone has decided that Oikawa and Akaashi must be defended but just once I want them to flip their shit and kill someone. Just once.
Bokuto, Lev and Iwaizumi all want to protect Oikawa but Iwaizumi doesn’t even fucking trust em.
Why does everyone act like Nishinoya not wanting to move on so quickly is a bad thing? It’s perfectly reasonable and I hate how everyone is like “What’s wrong with you, do you not like us?” And getting super standoffish or snappish simply because Nishinoya loves Asahi so much and doesn’t want to feel like they didn’t need him.
I really don’t like how Nishinoya/Tanaka/Ennoshita became a thing in this fic. It would be cute if it didn’t just happen because Nishinoya was desperate and if he wasn’t he wouldn’t have fucked Tanaka.
Oh dear god I don’t want Kenma to die.
Oh thank god it’s okay.
Fuck I forgot they had boobs
Did Bokuto almost name the Kuroken baby Oya but changed last minute?
BO ISN’T COMING BACK IS HE?????????
I’m feelin a little sniffly. I might fucking cry over an Omegaverse fic. Oh how the mighty have fallen
Oh my god the stars. I don’t think Bo is coming back y’all. I’m so nervous
The fuckin royals aren’t getting Keiji. No. Nuh-uh FUCK THAT SHIT
THAT’S BOKUTO’S MATE STAY AWAY FROM HIM
-cue mac worrying about oikawa because seijou is allied with fukurodani and an easy way to tear seijou away from the alliance is to kidnap oikawa and iwaizumi might split to keep him safe and ushi fucking knows this and possibly tendou also oiks is pretty as fuck-
BOKUTO IS OKAY!
Iwaizumi making Bokuto promise to save Oikawa if things went to shit makes me so worried but the same time his lil speech made my IwaOi heart so happy.
Suga bby...
BOKUTO JUST KILLED A FUCKING CHILD
Tendou, Ushijima I never thought I’d say this but I fucking hate them right now. They better not hurt the other best Boi’s.
Ushijima is salty as fuck confirmed.
"You truly are a piece of art," Ushijima said gently ...."But not as beautiful as him," the alpha muttered as he threw the omega to the floor.
So, this little snippet sent disgusting shivers down my spine for two reasons.
1) Ushijima just yeeted Akaashi, my son and
2) Any reader knows who the ‘he’ Ushi is talking about is, the only person in this book who is said to be as beautiful as Akaashi. You guessed it, the boi who rejected Ushi-fucking-jima, Jewel of Seijou himself Oikawa Tooru.
The thing that grosses me out the most about this paragraph just on its own is that Ushijima is either guessing about what Oikawa looks like, or he actually knows which overall just gives me the heebie jeebies because Oikawa definitely didn’t want that. What makes my skin crawl in this little snippet is what Ushijima would do when if he got his angry little hands on Oikawa—or Iwaizumi, but Iwa would probably be killed or used as a bargaining chip.
Hmmmmm, I’m pretty sure Ushi is in love with Tendou but the beauty statement still stands possibly???? Unless specified otherwise, because Akaashi and Oikawa are canonically considered the most beautiful people in the fic.
Also this entire chapter just makes me feel so gross, fuck Ushijima man. Fuck him.
My Ushijima loving heart hurts reading this fic.
I just want Akaashi and Oikawa to straight up kill someone. Please, anyone who I don’t care about
I FUCKING SEE THE MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH WARNING AND I DON’T LIKE IT
FUCK
FUCK
FUCK
NOT BOKUTO
WAIT IS HE ALIVE
I WANNA SEE MY LITTLE BOY
HERE HE COMES
I WANT TO SEE MY LITTLE BOY
"I came right on time," Bokuto forced out his voice cracking with emotion. "Now I can engulf you in my arms and brighten your days despite the absence of the sun. You will no longer have to endure the cold winters alone. I'll be with you, I be there for you and our child," The alpha vowed his hands itching in need.
"Are you going to leave us again?" Akaashi needed to know. The omega already knew that he wouldn't be able to survive being apart from the alpha. He knew that he wouldn't win the battle with the overwhelming loneliness.
"The seas could dry up, the mountains could turn to pebbles, the trees could die and the whole world could be on fire and I still won't leave your side."
That was all Akashi needed to hear as he leaped into his alphas arm and let go of all the pain he has held in
I’m not crying I swear
They walked together side by side and Akaashi finally faced them. They were both beaten, bloody, and torn butinstead of feeling satisfaction he felt remorse. They both looked at him with soft, wide eyes, and he realized that this was the moment they were waiting for. They wanted to see the child that they both desperately wanted and Akaashi decided to give them a parting gift.
Akaashi had won, he had won from the very beginning and he held his trophy who was a small babe with golden orbs, with mutant white and black hair. He hadn't lied to Tendou when he had said that the baby looked exactly like his father.
OH MY FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOD I’M SOBBING DON’T TOUCH ME
Meta and Review
So I just read A/B/O for the first time and I knew absolutely nothing about the entire trope that Mpreg existed and to stay the hell away from it. Please remember this in the meta and tell me if there way of dividing characters is ever specified or if it’s just decided by top-bottom dynamics.
Wow.
The story was pretty good outside of what I’m about to talk about. I liked the ships and most of the buildup, the worldbuilding seems solid, the war and UshiTens situation was really interesting to me and it made Ushi and Tendou a bit morally gray and could’ve talked about how people could do bad things for what they thought were the right reason and everything was clean cut.
Overall? Eh. Could’ve been done better
Not onto the rest
This doesn’t seem as toxic or inherently bad as most fics I’ve seen, I didn’t really like how Omega’s are always inherently feminine—the dresses, jewels, how they’re seen as inherently weaker and sometimes helpless, how they’re always referred to as “my lady”—and aren’t really given another choice because they might have the ability to reproduce in A/B/O but they aren’t women. It’s okay if a man is really feminine but for all of them to be? It rubbed my the wrong way.
I wish that the power structure was handled different in A/B/O in general. Omega’s seem to be treated like they’re helpless and I just...don’t like it? Omega’s might be submissive but that doesn’t make them physically weaker and if it did, I would’ve thought they would have picked up some other useful skills like diplomacy or strategy.
As usually, my example of how a character could’ve been handled better is Oikawa.
He’s my favorite character and I adored him but he just didn’t really deliver. It felt like he was being treated like a kid throughout this entire fic, it didn’t seem like he was doing anything during the war. Even if Omega’s don’t have a lot of physically prowess and abilities, what happened to Oikawa’s strategic and analytical nature? Why was it never mentioned in any of Bokuto’s POV sections because out all the leaders of the Allied Kingdoms, Oikawa is the best strategist—Kuroo is the exception, not the rule and I thought they should’ve been working together because smort boys—but he was simply hidden away.
Now I have no problems with all the protective IwaOi scenes when they’re in immediate danger—it makes perfect sense if Omega’s are physically weaker but have other usable talents that are taken seriously—and Oikawa simply can’t talk his way out of said problem.
I do however, have a problem with cowering Oikawa. That feels so OOC at the beginning of the first scene I cited, where is all of the quick wit and worthless pride from the show? Now, it makes sense for Oikawa to start getting scared and simply slip behind Iwaizumi once Ushijima tries to dominate everyone and all the Alphas start freaking out if Oikawa is at an actual, physical disadvantage—I feel like the alpha’s their have similar frames, or at least most of them do. Bokuto, Ushijima, Kuroo and Iwaizumi are jacked and beefy, everyone but Iwa is relatively tall too. Now, Oikawa’s tall too but he’s much thinner and leaner. I’d be scared too if everyone could break me like a twig if it came down to it—but no ??? Apparently at the first sign of any conflict he just gets scared??? He doesn’t know what’s going on in his own fucking kingdom ???
This is not Oikawa.
I didn’t like how they treated most of the Omega’s actually, it felt like they were just reverted to helpless damsels in distress. What happened to Kenma’s observation skills? Nishinoya’s everything?
More importantly, what decides Alpha’s and Omega’s? Is it up in the air like gender is? What are Beta’s then? It can’t just be who’s top and who’s bottom, that would mean the alpha-beta-omega- status wouldn’t be decided until you had a mate
From what I’ve seen in the fic, it goes by ship dynamics but what if the characters who had more strategic, cunning, observant traits and weren’t as buff and muscly would be Omega’s and had the brain power while characters who relied more on physical prowess would be Alpha’s and dominant in a purely physical way sometimes while characters who were an odd combination of the two would be Beta’s.
Going by my logic, instead of the top being the alpha and the bottom just being an omega without any personality it would be...
Bokuto- Alpha, like he was in the story. He’s definitely more physically inclined then Akaashi.
Akaashi: Omega, same as in the fic. Not to say he isn’t athletic but he relies more on his mind.
Iwaizumi- Alpha, like in the fic but from a purely physical standpoint and because he can rein Oikawa in when his friend starts going nuts.
Oikawa - Beta, he’s quite powerful but he’s also manipulative, strategic and his mind is scary as fuck.
Kuroo- Beta, he relies on his physical prowess and dorkily perfect brain a lot so he’s also a mixture of both.
Kenma- Omega, physically he’s a twig but his mind is what makes him the brain of Nekoma
Hinata- Alpha, he doesn’t use his brain a lot and has a lot of physical power
Kageyama - Beta, he’s pretty smart when it comes to volleyball and he’s also physically strong
Suga - Omega, he’s quite clever and his brain power out ways his physical prowess by a landslide
Daichi- Beta, he firms strategies and relies on his brain, plus his killer thighs
Tsukishima - Beta, he has his hue fur and athleticism but his brain power is also strong as fuck
Yamaguchi - Beta, he seems to be really people smart and eventually his serves are pretty good.
Can Betas get into a relationship with other Betas? I don’t know or care, we stan Alpha-Alpha, Beta-Beta and Omega-Omega ships here
I DON’T KNOW IF THIS IS HOW IT WORKS THO
do I have to read more

traffic jam // niru kajitsu theory post
Tumblr media
This is a theory post about the song Traffic Jam by Niru Kajitsu, ft. v_flower; the music video was drawn by Akashi! Ultimately, in my opinion, the meaning of the song boils down to it being a message about the dangers of anonymity and the cyclical nature of blame and guilt. For the English lyrics, I’ll be using tosiaki’s translation of the song, with some of my own minor corrections for grammar and the like. Fair warning, there’s a bit of suicide imagery throughout the music video, so if you’re sensitive to that, I’d proceed with caution.
Tumblr media
The song features two main characters: Flurry and Welter, although they take on two different forms through the plot of the music video. Flurry is the woman, and Welter is the man; for reference, I’ll be referring to the less-humanoid versions of them as Anon Flurry and Anon Welter, respectively (I’ll explain these titles in the theory section of the post).
LITERAL PLOT
Tumblr media
The song starts off with a car crash, and the eyes in the background flicking towards it; the people who’ve been hit are Flurry and Welter, as you can see from Flurry’s yellow dress and earbuds and Welter’s hair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The businessman who’s hit them is horrified, and attempts to pray for forgiveness/hang himself to escape the blame for their deaths, only for Anon Flurry and Welter to be watching. Anon Welter is holding scissors to cut down the rope and Anon Flurry has an insect net to catch the businessman as he falls. The businessman attempts to run…
Tumblr media
...only to be caught in a car accident of his own.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anon Welter is shown explaining to a bystander what happened, while Anon Flurry seems to be listening to other people arguing over the events Flurry was caught in (I’d personally assume this is some kind of interview, due to a brief scene at 0:30 where Anon Flurry is posing much more obviously at a press conference.)
Tumblr media
There are a few more surreal scenes in between 0:50 and 2:40, featuring some dancing fruit, Anon Flurry/Welter alternatively flirting/fighting with each other, and a scene where they’re humming along to the music while looking like they’re about to go to a medieval-themed abstract wedding, but in terms of pure plot, all there is to really take away is that the two of them look for trouble while being haunted by their more human counterparts/consciences.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The two of them are watching YouTube (or NND, if you’re watching the NND version of it!), with the car crash being the video playing, and what looks to be Maddy Marmalade, Wozwald, and A Mistaken Belief of Love in the sidebar. The door behind them opens, and they’re shocked to see…
Tumblr media
...themselves in the light behind them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They revert to the more human Flurry and Welter, and are tormented by the new Anon Flurry and Welter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As Flurry and Welter attempt to run away, the new Anon Flurry and Welter sit back and watch them. At the end of the music video, the same businessman from the beginning is seen getting back into the car that hit the two of them, implying that the plot loops on infinitely.
THEORY
The song’s meaning boils down to it being a cautionary message about, essentially, the Blame Game. Anon Flurry and Welter are representations of mass media, public opinion, anonymous sources, etc. while Flurry, Welter, and the businessman are victims being exploited for the sake of drama and attention. I’ll be going through the whole video, starting from the beginning, in the context of this theme.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
パシャパシャとフラッシュ焚いた まあなんて可哀想な
With click, click, it flashed, “Well, how pitiful.”
Firstly, we can see Flurry and Welter being killed by the businessman in the car crash. The eyes represent how the minute any disaster occurs, there’s suddenly a million eyes watching it, no matter how personal it may be -- and a million people who weren’t involved in the incident itself giving their opinions on it, being shown by Anon Flurry at the press conference, obviously not having been killed like real Flurry was in the accident. She’s here for the attention -- instead of talking to the audience, she’s posing, like she’s acting in a movie.
In the second image, we see Anon Welter’s hands blinding one of the bystanders who saw the accident -- the line here, translated, reads “Well, how pitiful.” The lyrics in this section refers to both the flashing of the cameras of the press conference as well as the publicity that an accident like this would immediately get, with the media caring more about the general spectacle than the actual victims of the crash; the condescending nature of the bystander’s response show how desensitized the public’s become to horrifying incidents like this, once again, focusing more on the spectacle and asking who’s to blame.
Tumblr media
許さねえや 追い込めや 逃げんのかい この腰抜けが
It can't be forgiven, corner 'em, you fleeing? This coward.
Returning to this image of Anon Flurry and Welter cutting down the businessman from his noose, they demand that the blame for the accident be passed on to somebody -- if there’s a victim, there has to be a murderer, and there’s nobody to blame if the businessman is dead.
Tumblr media
ああまただ 衝突だ 赤信号点滅だ さあ
Ah yes, again, it's a crash, a flashing red light, now.
今度はどいつが悪いんだ 誰でもいいや
Who's at fault this time? Doesn't matter who,
じゃああいつのせいだ
Then it's this one's fault,
譲り合いもへったくれもない
To hell with compromise.
The businessman is subsequently killed in a car crash of his own in an attempt to escape the watching eyes of Anon Flurry and Welter. In the top picture, you can see Anon Welter at the top and Anon Flurry at the bottom, with many other eyes accompanying their own in yellow -- a hint at how they’re a mere representation of the public as a whole, instead of simply being individual people. Even though the true culprit of the accident is caught, the two of them continue to demand that somebody be put to the guillotine for this new crash, even though it technically provides justice to the original Flurry and Welter who had been killed by the businessman -- Niru Kajitsu illustrating how mass media cares less about justice and the victims and more about the drama of it all. Anon Flurry randomly blaming somebody and saying “to hell with compromise” shows how truth and justice aren’t valued, anymore -- once again, spectacle is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
おいらにゃ関係ない?
“It has nothing to do with me?”
そうは問屋が卸しゃしねえんだわ
The wholesale won't sell this.
Assumedly, the text bubble in the top image is from the person that Anon Flurry’s blamed for the death of the businessman. Anon Welter rejects the accused’s protests, claiming that the “wholesale won’t sell this.” The “wholesale” typically refers to a company that mass-produces goods for the purpose of other retailers to sell them, and in this context, refers to the story that Anon Flurry and Welter have made up -- if the accused refuses to play along, they can’t give the story up to the media and get the attention that they crave.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Deuce Deuce Deuce!
君が逝くまで
Until you pass away,
僕が逝くまで
until I pass away,
痛み分けなどしないんで
we won't cancel the game 'cause of injuries,
Deuce Deuce Deuce!
鍍金が剥げるまで 朝が来るまで
until our outer shells fall off, until morning comes,
二人で涎分け合っていよう
let's share the drool between us two.
In the pictures, the rapidly-switching fighting and flirting of Anon Flurry and Welter is repeated in many other places throughout the music video -- I took this to represent how public media and anons on the internet have constantly shifting opinions that, at different moments, both conflict and come into concord with each other. However, the teamwork that overshadows the love-hate tones throughout the video shows that they’re ultimately working towards the same goal -- deception of the public for the sake of views and attention.
Now, onto the actual analysis of the chorus. The repetition of the word “deuce” has multiple meanings, all of which apply to the theme of the video. Firstly, there’s the meaning directly referenced in the chorus, with the “deuce” referring to the two on dice or playing cards -- showing how Anon Flurry and Welter see the entire incident as just a “game”, the two of them having fun as they exploit the suffering of others. Secondly, in tennis, a deuce refers to, essentially, a draw -- a reference to the cyclical nature of the music video, in which Anon Flurry and Welter never truly win and merely become the victims of the next accident (also vaguely referenced in the chorus: “until you pass away / until I pass away.” The two of them are at a stalemate with the other Anon Flurries/Welters stalking them and waiting for them to slip up. This makes more sense in the context of my explanation for the scene when Anon Flurry and Welter are exposed by new versions of themselves.). The last meaning of a deuce is in the use of “deuce” as a euphemism for the word “devil” (i.e. the expression “what the deuce are we supposed to do”). It’s a bit dated, but it could be a reference to the inherent evil of media, Anon Flurry and Welter focusing on the drama of their counterparts’ deaths instead of on the deaths themselves.
The meaning of “until our outer shells fall off” is made clearer later on in the video, when they’re exposed by new versions of themselves. I’ll be explaining this part more thoroughly when we get there.
Now, onto some of the more surreal scenes in the video.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
然も さもしいこの魂 生を受けたは良いが
Moreover for this self-seeking soul, it's good it received life, but,
粗探し、穴探し 飽くなき人の性
Fault-finding, flaw-finding, tireless human nature,
爪 灯した火で養生せんとな
Recover by the fire lit by claws.
Personally, I think that the fruit-people are symbols of the people that Anon Flurry and Welter have exploited for the sake of the media. The lemon is put under spotlight, dancing, and putting on a show for the camera; the apple is under spotlight as well, tied to a chair, before an arrow pierces it (once again, putting on a show -- except in this case, it’s metaphorically killed for the sake of it); and the banana is being peeled, with Anon Welter taking spoonfuls of it (how people are “eaten alive” by the media).
The lyrics are pretty straightforward in this part. Anon Flurry and Welter are glad they’re alive to experience the drama of life, but, as “human nature” demands, they’re constantly searching for faults and flaws in others in order to try to fulfill themselves (“recover by”); however, the fire was “lit by claws”, meaning that the gossip they’re trying to fulfill themselves with was never started with good intentions in the first place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part of the song is pretty straightforward, as well. The town switching to night shows how there’s a “dark underbelly” to the bright side of themselves that Anon Flurry and Welter try to portray; Anon Flurry’s heart “freezing over” shows how she’s given up on her emotion and empathy in her need for drama and attention; Anon Welter casually sipping on a drink while all of this is going on around him shows how one can numb themselves to the pain they’re causing in others.
雨晒し憂さ晴らし 屁理屈の速贄
Weather-worn and distracted from worries, an early sacrifice of sophistry.
The second part of this specific lyric is interesting enough to point out, though. “Sophistry” refers to a fallacious argument, typically made for the purpose of deceiving others. A “sacrifice of sophistry,” I’d assume, refers to Anon Flurry and Welter offering up fallacious stories and arguments to the people around them just for the sake of drama.
The following chorus doesn’t offer much, just more sick animation of Anon Flurry and Welter dancing and another fruit-person performing for the camera. The lyrics after that, though...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
不安に駆られて ふらふらとさ
Succumbing to unease, staggering,
行き着いたが最後 後に引けない
The place arrived at is the last, with no turning back,
ゆりかごから墓場まで亡者
A dead person from bird cage to grave.
This part clarifies the part in the first chorus that refers to Anon Flurry and Welter’s “outer shells.” In these images, you can see how under the masks that the Anons put on, there’s the hint of humanity -- and the lyrics only reinforce this, claiming that they’re “succumbing to unease… a dead person from bird cage to grave.” Anon Flurry and Welter put on a brave mask, being uninvolved with the incident and merely spreading lies about it, but have had to kill off their true selves (the “humanity” inside them) ever since they were bound by the bird cage of societal pressure for attention and success. The implication here is that they’ll never escape until they die -- presumably, in a car accident of their own.
Tumblr media
This next image is pretty interesting -- it’s a moment of (relative) silence in the song. Having been preceded by these lyrics that show Anon Flurry and Welter finally feeling uneasy about their decisions, I like to see this as the Anons being trapped by the web of lies and blame and drama that they’ve woven around themselves. I looked it up, and the word “kansou” is translated as “feelings” or, more specifically, somebody asking you “what you think” about something. The Anons have to put on this “holier-than-thou” guise, now, when they’re being asked their opinions on something -- now that they’ve gained the social standing that they so desired, they have to be careful not to lose it.
Unfortunately, their hopes are about to be crushed in the next part of the song (my personal favorite part of the video).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part of the video is when everything seems to click together. The Anons are watching the car crash again, presumably laughing at it or at the drama that they’ve sparked… until they’re suddenly exposed to the light that they’ve been hiding away from for so long. The minute they’re confronted by another Anon Flurry and Welter, their “outer shells” melt away, as seen in the half-human, half-Anon Flurry in the last image. This sequence, very quickly, reveals the true message behind the song: Anon Flurry and Welter and their human counterparts aren’t just single-instance characters, they’re a representation of the constant cycle of drama, exposure, drama, exposure, that permeates mass media today.
Anon Flurry and Welter could afford to be so bold, constantly looking for trouble and blaming others for the deaths of Flurry and Welter, because they were hiding behind their anonymous masks of a YouTube screen and their “holy” attitudes. Once they’re exposed -- notably, by another set of Anons, who presumably are looking for the same trouble that the originals were -- they immediately lose that “anonymous” mask and are now the subject of the same scrutiny and bullying that they subjected Flurry and Welter to.
Tumblr media
俺は人間なんかに成らずに済んだのにな
It'd be fine even if I never become human.
Being “human” -- or, rather, not having the mask of anonymity to hide behind -- is seen as a loss. They don’t want to be Flurry and Welter, the victims of a car crash, they want to be the Anons, who can afford to bully people until their personal victims become victims of a car crash.
Tumblr media
さあ往生しよう
Now, let's move on from life,
この終わった世界で Deuceが尽きるまで
In this finished world, until Deuce runs out.
The car crash isn’t a car crash at all -- it’s drama that leaves people socially (or physically) dead, their hardships suddenly making them the center of a sob story instead of the people exploiting it for attention in the first place. Original Anon Flurry and Welter are killed, once again, in an attempt to escape the watching eyes of new Anon Flurry and Welter; a bystander who inadvertently caused their death is blamed for it, until they’re killed as well; the new Anons take their newfound notoriety and make it big before they’re exposed for their own role in the suffering.
Once again, gotta emphasize -- Flurry and Welter are just representations for entire groups of people who go through this constant cycle. As Niru Kajitsu said in the comments:
Tumblr media
They’re just symbols. The world is made out of victims (Flurry and Welter) and the people who exploit them (Anon Flurry and Welter). Eventually, once the anonymous “outer shell” is peeled away, they’re nothing more than victims themselves. It’s a criticism about the culture of mass media and public opinion today.
(Also, a fun little note: Flurry and Welter’s names both essentially symbolize the chaos of this system! Taking the most applicable dictionary definitions of each, a flurry is a “short period of commotion and excitement,” and a welter is a “state of general disorder.” Most of the meanings of those two words apply, though -- special shoutout to another definition of the verb form of welter meaning “to lie steeped in blood with no help or care,” which I think you can infer the significance of.)
(Another fun note: the synth from the beginning of the song is repeated again at the very end of the song, but, even if you’re just a casual listener, you can tell how different the tone is.)
Anyway, thanks for reading! This was pretty fun to write -- I haven’t dissected a music video like this before, so I hope it all makes sense. I’d love to discuss it with you, if you’ve got any questions!

Note
1. as far as im concerned Kagami never left at the end of last game, that was an extended dream sequence... 2. i also totally agree with you that Kagami is prolly vers, if anything, and it was also MY PET PEEVE when people pinholed him into being a forever bottom at the peak of knb hype. 3. you keep teasing your long list of ships for Aomine PLEASE do him for the character thing lol. So far all your opinions are sending me into a realm of GOOD VALID VIBES
Omg thank you!! (I agree end of Last Game is not canon… or if it is he came right back the next year or smth I refuse to accept he just left forever. And I’m really glad to see the problem of Uke™ Kagami seems to be in decline these days… fewer people are writing for knb in general, but those that are seem to have an idea what a real gay relationship is or at least make him a fucking person and not a walking stereotype, and that’s encouraging to see).
Also thanks so much for sending Aomine! …Strap in for this character essay tho I’ve been known to never shut up about this boy once you get me started.
How I feel about this character
I honestly… can’t even explain it anymore or even try to justify it but Aomine has had a bigger impact on me than, I think, any other character I’ve seen to date. I don’t even know what it is, I do relate to him (and project on him *cough*) but like, there are other characters out there that I have more in common with, and I like his whole arc and aesthetic but it’s nothing revolutionary, so… your guess is as good as mine.
Whatever it is, I’ve been obsessed with this guy for over half a decade, and lately even as the KNB fandom falls into decline, my feelings are not they’re just getting stronger. His development over the course of the series is one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever seen, (that one bit at the end of the Touou/Seirin game with “I want to practice” and his later conversation with Kuroko hit me in the fucking chest every time), and I love how even though he’s portrayed as cold, uncaring and rude, it’s still understood (at least by anyone with some nuance) that that’s not what he’s supposed to be like, and underneath the distant, kind of dickish front, he’s hurting a lot. I’ve talked about the degree to which he cares about people before too, but I still have to give a mention to the ferocious level of protectiveness this guy has for his friends. I could go on about him for ages, tbh, and maybe someday I will write a for-real structured essay to try to get it out there, but the bottom line is I love this character, I have for a long time, and likely will continue to do so long into the future.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Okay here we go… I ship this guy extremely liberally, even with people he’s never interacted with (hell you could mention any random character and I could probably see my way clear to shipping them with him somehow, I’ll still try to explain my logic if I can). Prepare yourself.
Kagami (of course, AoKaga is the OTP and definitely the one I’ve devoted the most time to, they’re just the best together I’ll never get tired of seeing them figure their shit out over and over)
Kuroko (I may be AoKaga on main, but I’m still such a sucker for the tragic romance between these two, and sometimes it just hits me over the head like a sledgehammer how much I love their relationship. I’ve also got a lot of feelings for AoKagaKuro, they’re such a perfect trio and I need to invest more of my time in the OT3)
Kise (I was a bit late to the game on AoKise, but I definitely see it now. I love their dynamic and how imperfect their relationship would probably be, the complexity of it. sign me up)
Momoi (I don’t see a lot of AoMomo love anymore, but I’ve still got a soft spot for it, childhood friends are my weakness okay)
Midorima (they’re so different but that’s what makes it interesting, and I love the idea of neither of them knowing how to show/tell the other their feelings and being awkward stubborn shits together)
Murasakibara (they almost never interact but I just think they’d have such a soft cuddly relationship and be really chill together… lazy Sunday mornings sleeping in and hanging all over each other that kinda thing)
Akashi (kinda same as Akashi/Kagami, I think the difference between polished upper-class Akashi and scrappy city boy Aomine would be hella interesting… though I’ve also got some angst ideas for them as a couple, after how things went down at Teiko… abandonment and whatnot)
Imayoshi (I got pulled into this ship HARD by Lysapadin’s A Firm Hand series and now it’s no longer a guilty pleasure ship and is actually something I’ll talk about in the open, just… the power dynamic fuck me up)
Sakurai (I fuckin love the idea of an anxious Sakurai crushing hard on Aomine and not knowing how to tell him but when he finally plucks up the courage and prepares himself for imminent death Aomine’s actually pretty chill about it… plus they’d be adorable together tbh)
Wakamastu (you know it’s gotta be enemies to lovers. not just bc I’m intrigued by the love/hate relationship itself but if you look past the attitude issues these two would actually probably have a lot in common. also I’m really interested in how their dynamic might change with Wakamatsu being captain and all)
Susa (idk but there’s one throwaway line in season 3 where Imayoshi says about Aomine “actually maybe he likes you” and that’s enough for me. bring me the rarest rarepair my body is ready)
Kasamatsu (it wasn’t supposed to be SERIOUS but they got me. That moment in the Touou/Kaijo game where Aomine helps him up and “you’ve really done it now, senpai” is legit, plus these two would be such a good-looking couple, honestly.)
Mibuchi (give me the pretty boys. I have no excuse for this except maybe their interactions in my own damn fic again)
Nebuya (sometimes shipping can be as simple as hey I want them to bang right. also they’re both humongous dorks under their respective rough exteriors and I love them)
Moriyama (they bond over liking girls at first and then they’re simultaneously like wait a minute… more Touou/Kaijo ships pls)
Nijimura (I have this idea of them reuniting late into/after high school and Aomine still calls him captain out of habit and Nijimura’s like relieved and impressed to see how he’s developed since the mess at Teiko)
Himuro (they Never interact but they’d be so Petty and Snarky sign me up)
Haizaki (twisted, but I’m interested it’d be so unhealthy and awful bring it)
Hanamiya (even more twisted tbh but there is that moment where Aomine confronts him… and I’m here for hate sex just as much as your typical romance)
Inoue (who, you ask? I know he’s such a side character and no one remembers him, but he’s a big reason for Aomine’s downfall at Teiko and they seemed to be buddies before that, I’d be interested in some kind of reconciliation between them, or a romance, ya know whatever works)
And then we get into crossover territory… MOST of these are not my fault they’re just things I’ve seen and adopted for myself
Kuroo Tetsurou (someone made a moodboard for them, and now I can’t stop thinking about them in a relationship, like damn… it’d be such a beautiful mess I wanna see more of it)
Oikawa Tooru (I’ve seen art, and also the light. These two damaged angsty prodigies, one sharp as a whip the other dumb as bricks, but both of them sassy and nerdy as hell. I could see myself getting addicted to this ship if I took the time to write it out, and I just might)
Yamazaki Sousuke (can’t lie, they look good together. I’ve seen more than one art piece of them interacting and I have a Mighty Need.)
Matsuoka Rin (angry lonely talented boys finding solace in each other’s company? you know that’s my shit. also shark teeth and cop AUs hells yeah.)
Tanaka Ryuunosuke (I don’t know where the fuck this idea came from but I thought of Tanaka trying to pick a fight with “shitty boi” Aomine while in Tokyo and then losing his shit and here we are)
Terushima Yuuji (this one is purely physical… they pretty, I have no other reason, but also this absolute fuckboy, these two would be such a train wreck and I’m here for it tbh)
Yachi Hitoka (okay picture this Giant Terrifying basketball player trying to be less giant and terrifying to tiny shy Yachi and tell me you dont just want to see that happen. I get Legosi/Haru vibes.)
I’ll spare you the rest of the ideas I’ve tossed around, because past this point it becomes pure crack (if it hasn’t already) but you get the idea. Throw a character my way and I can probably talk myself into it that’s the power this guy has over me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My non-romantic OTP for this character
K considering the List… it shouldn’t be surprising that I also consider this person a romantic candidate, but you know when it comes to non-romantic OTP it’s gotta be Momoi. Platonic or romantic, the way she’s stuck with him all those years and his obvious protectiveness and love for her and how (even though he claims to like big tits) he never even once starts to objectify her in any way, it’s so important to me. Momoi is Aomine’s redeeming factor when he’s at his worst, and she goes to bat for him even while he’s actively trying to shake her off and still tries to protect and help him when he refuses to accept it, even when it means they fight. (Also Kuroko saying “Aomine’s probably looking for you” after their argument puts to mind Aomine running through the rain calling Momoi’s name and that is just… pure). These two have the kind of unshakable long-standing friendship that’ll probably last them the rest of their lives, and no matter what context or form it takes, I can’t get enough of it.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I’ve harped on enough about the fandom’s portrayal of Aomine as a one-note asshole who doesn’t care before, so let’s see if I can change gears a little bit here.
I honestly don’t agree with… the persistent idea people seem to have of Aomine being a narcissist or obsessed with himself? Like yeah, he’s self-absorbed and egotistical, no question, this is not to say he hasn’t got those flaws and others besides… but that’s not the same as being like, physically attracted to yourself. Part of me suspects it was a “the only one who can fuck me is me” joke taken too far, so that now the idea of Aomine being in love with himself is just ingrained into the fanon culture, but if you look at the show itself, personally I don’t see it. If anything, I would think he’d have some self-loathing issues to work through (and that’s part of the reason he gave for skipping practice, he doesn’t want to be the way he is, and specifically says he doesn’t want to increase the difference between him and everyone else). But hey, that’s just my opinion. I’ll get off my soapbox now.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I mean he says he and Kagami are postponing their match, after their brief one-on-one when he gives him the shoes, and then we never get to see it… Tbh just more street ball with this guy would be great, since it’s what his whole style is based around. Even if he’s just playing by himself… or hell, maybe since he thinks no one at the high school level can beat him, we could get a scene of him trying to go up against adults. Maybe he still beats them and his despair worsens after that, but then it’d have more meaning, and at least we’ll have seen that he’s tried and is not just giving up before he’s seen all of what he could be up against in the future. Plus, picturing Aomine going five-on-one like Haizaki did against grown-ups and still slaughtering them is something I’d pay money to see.

I CAN’T TAKE AKASHI SERIOUSLY ANYMORE. He looks EXACTLY like Saiki and I just-
I can’t
He used to be scary but now, all I hear is “Good Grief”
They even share the same voice actor I fucking CAN’T
no but seriously. if what saiki is saying is true, and that he did manipulate the world a bit to make people with different coloured hair and some extra abilities seem normal, KNB fits fucking right in.
BOW DOWN BEFORE YOUR CREATOR GOM, WORSHIP SAIKI KUSUO.

Notes for Storming the Castle, Chapter 9
Hello again, dear AkaFuri readers! It feels SO nice that it hasn’t been too long since I last updated. I replied to all the Ch. 8 comments on Ao3 (YAY), but I did want to mention that I’m still planning to reply to several people who left me really nice notes here on Tumblr as well. Hopefully that’ll happen later today or this weekend, so thanks for your patience! (Also I apologize for the awkwardness of replying two weeks later... Family holiday stuff last week turned out to be, uh, a lot? //laughs) On to the notes!
Most of my notes this time are brief, since I didn’t have too much in the way of cultural info or setting inspiration that I haven’t mentioned already. But in the interest of sharing, here are some things I remembered…
(Cut for my usual rambling about Akashi’s house and previous fics and mental health and also THE SPOOKY STUFF/why KnB is a supernatural story anyway...)
The “Italian velvet” reference in the pillow fight
This is a really silly note that I’m including just to demonstrate how out-of-control my Google research gets… Here are some throw pillows made from Italian silk velvet, which was the fanciest imported fabric I could come up with for the pillow fight scene. (Because of course I managed to squeeze a pillow fight scene into my super-dramatic sleepover fic, haha. XD) And in case for some reason you want to know a little bit about the super-posh history of this fabric, I’ve got you covered.
(… Seriously, why do I look up things like that?)
The Akashi Family Portrait
The huge portrait of Akashi and his parents is something that I’ve been preparing to include in the story for a while… It was inspired by those gigantic paintings you often see in super-fancy European estates, that idealize powerful members of the aristocracy. (Or royalty, in some cases!) Since the Akashi house is a Western-style mansion, the idea seemed pretty fitting, as over-the-top and surreal as it is? //laughs Over on my Pinterest inspiration board for this fic, I included a bunch of different ideas for the gown that Shiori is wearing in the portrait. I especially like the color of this one and the overall silhouette of this one but this is spectacular as well. (Her gown probably wouldn’t be as low cut as those examples, for multiple cultural reasons, but you still get the general idea?) There’s actually a lot of Shiori-related inspiration in that part of the board, including a couple KnB images!
The Traditional Tatami Room
So this one is interesting… Back in Chapter Five, you might remember that Furihata’s house—like many Japanese homes—has a traditional Japanese-style room with tatami mats on the floor. Since Akashi’s house in the anime is based on an actual Western-style mansion near Tokyo, my initial assumption was that his house wouldn’t have any traditional rooms. BUT, it turns out the actual house does have at least one room with tatami mats, as you can see in the third photo from the bottom here. (You can also see a photo of it in the first link!) So I decided to include it in Furihata’s midnight exploration of the rooms, where he discovers the Akashi family butsudan.
I’ve mentioned butsudan in the notes in Part One, but as a quick reminder, a butsudan is a family shrine that is partly used to honor relatives who are deceased.
References to Fast Train
Since it’s been a looooong time since I posted the first story of this series, I did want to mention that a few of the things that Furihata thinks about during Part Two are referring to events that happened in The Fast Train to Kyoto. Furihata’s first dream about meeting Shiori is one example. Another one, in this chapter, is when Furihata sees Akashi’s father in person for the first time, and remembers that Akashi once told him that he “was instructed to keep people at a distance.” That’s from their phone mail conversation in Chapter Seven of Fast Train.
I try to make sure that any fic in a series can be read by itself, so I usually stop to explain these references in some way, for those who didn’t read the earlier story. But that one was vague enough that I figured it deserved a nod!
Photo References for the Bedroom
I linked some of these before, but since the final scene featured Akashi’s bedroom so much, I thought I would link a few of my photo inspirations for his bed here, here and here. Also, I forgot that he wasn’t wearing the robe in the previous chapter, so here’s a few photos I picked for possible inspiration there. (Those are both a little fancier compared to what I saw in my head, but I’m okay with that? //laughs)
Furihata’s Anxiety
I won’t go into panic attacks and anxiety here, since that information is pretty readily available online… But I did think it was worth mentioning that while Furihata has panicked in front of Akashi in my fics (and in canon!), he says that until now he’s tried to avoid having an attack that severe in front of a friend. Since this series is meant to be about two people who struggle with different mental health disorders, I think it’s noteworthy that Furihata trusts Akashi enough at this point to let his new friend be around him when he’s at his most vulnerable, and to see the full extent of what he struggles with.
(And I’ll also say that this is a theme in the series that’s going to come around again. I won’t say exactly how, because of the spoiler factor, but… I bet a lot of you can figure it out! Seriously, your insight about where the story is going constantly amazes me. <3)
All The Supernatural Stuff
To be honest, I have no idea if I should be apologizing or not, for how supernatural this chapter gets? //laughs Several people have told me that they’re still reading this series because they enjoy the idea of Furihata having supernatural powers, like the ability to see auras. So, uh… I hope you enjoyed this chapter? XD
I have to admit that from the beginning of A Spark of Light, I was planning to include various elements of the supernatural. (I was foreshadowing this in Fast Train too, so, see previous note? //laughs) That’s one of my favorite things about KnB, if I’m 100% honest… I’m obsessed with all kinds of fantasy and speculative fiction, so I love all the little hints in the KnB canon that something kind of supernatural might be going on with the Generation of Miracles. Like how Kuroko has absolutely no “presence” but the GoM have really strong ones, and how they all have that weird clairaudient vision of a door opening in that one episode, and… yeah. XD Even the more subtle stuff, like all the different patterns of matching names (no kidding, almost EVERYONE has names that match in different ways, even Seirin and the Uncrowned Kings!). Plus the way the GoM are the only ones with super colorful hair, and also Akashi’s slitted pupils? (SERIOUSLY WHAT IS WITH THE CAT PUPILS, WHY DOES NOBODY IN CANON EVER ASK ABOUT THAT.)
Come to think of it, I can go ahead and mention this now… The series title, A Spark of Light, is meant at least partly as a reference Furihata’s first name! “Kouki” includes the kanji for “light,” and one translation for its full meaning is “establishes brilliance.” (Light symbolism is super important in KnB in general, for obvious reasons. XD) So the title partly refers to how during the series, Furihata’s intuitive and supernatural powers are “sparking” to life, and this affects pretty much everything that happens. (And it’s one of the reasons why he is able to get so close to Akashi in the first place.)
Side note: This is loosely related to the reoccurring thing with Furihata (or a character that represents him!) holding a small light, like a lantern/candle. I also use a lot of fire symbolism for Akashi, because fire is pretty strongly associated with the color red in Japan. So one is the “spark” while the other is the “flame,” basically? METAPHORS. //I’msocornyohgodhelp
In any case, the supernatural parts are definitely becoming more and more important to the plot! Furihata doesn’t fully accept some of what he sees in this chapter, but I can say that he’s going to have to face some of what it means for him (and for his connection to Akashi) very soon.
(And hopefully I didn’t creep anyone out too badly with the ghost stuff… I know some of you definitely saw it coming! But with any luck, the way in which it was finally introduced had an interesting twist to it… I hope?)
As always, thanks for checking out my ramble-y notes, and thanks so much for reading the fic. <3 See you again soon for the final chapter!

5- home after hospital , 3- i can’t believe you, sometimes, akashi
all of these are coming out so angsty lol thank you for requesting, baby boo.
His scarlet eyes are taking you in like they never have before. They’re dim and unfocused, seeing right past the melancholy curling your brows and just like that, you know you’re speaking to an Akashi that lives for the sight of other’s defeat. It baffles you. How someone can have a face so familiar to you, a body that you know from every last hair follicle to each and every toe digit, and still seem so strange and unexplored. Right now, you and Akashi are strangers who somehow share a photograph on your nightstand. Who sleep in the same bed. And, have more in common than you’d like to admit. The two of you have developed a long-lasting relationship that represents love so worth fighting for, but also a bond that life’s demons find so worth breaking. Today, Akashi’s evil spirits have taken the side of its kin. “You know, I can’t believe you sometimes,” you say, your voice small. It makes you feel weak amongst other reasons. “You had no reason to rush the nurse the way you did.”“She was taking entirely too long to apply the ultrasound gel,” he replies cooly while shrugging on a dress shirt. He is getting ready for an event, his mind on other concerns meaning your husband is treating this like a casual conversation.Right now it’s like you’re talking about the weather while there’s already thunderstorm over your heads. The fact that Akashi isn’t much for small talk makes his carelessness sting even more. “I have no time for ill-prepared work from a physician’s assistant,” he chirps and turns to look at a row of freshly polished dress shoes. “She was taking her time for my sake. For our child’s wellbeing. Does that not mean anything to you anymore?”“Of course it does,” he declares through a quiet sigh. You still catch the fatigue lining it. “It has for the last five years, _________.” You flinch at the statement, but let it burn against your skin until it fades. He’d ripped a bandage from an old, infected wound—something he’d been doing a lot lately. “Then, why be so mean to her, Seijurou?”You watch as he swiftly crosses the room and sits on the edge of your bed. He places down a pair of Testonis at his feet and begins to fix his cuffs. The question lingers in the air as he looks at you blankly. Again. He’s looking at the bland wall behind you. There’s no spark in his eyes. The thundercloud over your head begins to expand.“Hello?” you say eventually. He raises a lone brow. And then, “I’ve said my reasoning. We’ll talk about this when I get in tonight,” as he laces up his shoes and starts for the front door. You hop up and block his path. No reaction from him. Only a simple tilt of the head in question. “No, we won’t. You’re gonna talk to me now because this is a serious issue that we need to discuss as a couple. This is our baby, Akashi. A baby that we conceived together. And you can’t just tap out of a pregnancy when it’s not going the way you want it to.”Akashi gently grins into a cool expression. It’s pompous. A self-assured mask that you’re going to rip off, even if it kills you. “Honey, I think you need some rest. You had a long day.” He leans in and softly kisses your forehead before moving you to the side and continuing his trek towards the front door of your apartment. The anger brewing within you bubbles over. Before you know it, you’re stomping towards him, your palms forcefully pressing against his back so he jerks forward. “You can’t just keep walking away from me, Akashi! I’m your wife! I’m carrying your fucking child!” you scream the assertions.  “I’ve done it before and I’m doing it again.”Akashi turns slowly, his eyes flashing with a concoction of shock and irritation. Even so, his voice is leveled when he says, “What are you? Unhinged?”You ignore the hurtful remark. Everything that you’ve held in for so long is flowing over the edge and your words are spewing with it.“Except this time you don’t fucking care, do you?! Because the first time around things didn’t go like you expected it to—like you commanded it to—you’ve tapped out of your own family!” “_________,” He says coming closer to you. You back away in sync with his advance, starting down your hall that holds a dead-end next to a random storage room. “Go into the master bedroom right now and retire for the night. You’re obviously not thinking clearly—”“Wake up call, Seijurou! Your family home isn’t a fucking business corporation. Our marriage isn’t a collaboration. Our marriage license isn’t a god damn contract for it.” You palm your belly. “This right here? Your child? Your son? Isn’t a plan you can just drop because it’s not what you thought it would be.”You halt when your back hits a wall. Again, your palms raise, but this time they connect with his heaving chest. He grabs your wrists and pulls you to his frame, cautious of your protruding belly as he traps your arms at your sides. With your chin touching his neckline, you burn holes into his own seething eyes, hungry for the sight of his anger. “Yes, we’ve lost our first baby to a miscarriage. Yes, there’s a possibility that we may lose this one too, but you’re making me feel like…l-like–“ Akashi’s expression loses its creases as tears start to well in your eyes and your fingers tighten around his shirt at his torso. “Like, I’m useless to you.”He swallows hard as your voice shakes. The storm overhead had finally dawned and he could feel the impact head-on. “I just…I just can’t believe you sometimes,” you crack as he slowly cups your cheeks. A thumb wipes away a tear just to welcome another one to stream. “I can’t believe you’re giving up on me when I need you most.” Akashi red eyes represent their color as he peers at you warmly. A sign of grief lines his bottom lids as he slowly lays his forehead against yours. The quiet says so much as your sniffles occasionally complement it. Akashi presses his lips against yours tenderly. “I’m not giving up on us. I just do not know how to control this, _______.” he confesses. “I do not have the answers and the reality of such a thing is slowly driving me insane.”“Stop looking for the answers alone.”“I’m so sorry, my love.”“I forgive you.”“No. Not until I say it a thousand times more.”

Weight: 198 lbs
Quotes & Catchphrases: "Sshhhh. Hush now." "Speak up." "Shut up."
Known Languages: Japanese, English, ASL.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
General Physical Condition
Takashi is healthy and very strong. He's muscular but in a wiry way, not a big, buff way.
Body Features
Long legs, thin midsection, toned muscles
Special abilities
Quirk: Persecution
Explanation: He can steal the voice of anyone he wants to, but he only uses it on people who defy him and/or his beliefs. Once he has your voice it doesn't come back unless he gives it back to you. He does have the ability to return the voices he stole, and even to return different voices to different people which can help in a deception plot (like giving a teammate a villains voice so they can tell the villain's allies what to do believably and then switching back). He takes voices by making contact with people and shushing them and telling them to "hush now" or "shut up" with the intent to take their voice, and returns them by making contact and telling them to "speak up" with the intention of returning their voice.
Apparel & Accessories
His everyday clothes consist of an olive green shirt unbuttoned over a navy t-shirt with black jeans and a pair of black brogue boots. He also wears a bracelet made out of music note charms that Mera gave to him for their six month anniversary.
MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS
Personal history
Takashi lived in America until he was 6 years old and then he and his family moved back to Japan. He got bullied a lot as a kid for being an outsider and for having a mean/villainous quirk.
Education
Takashi is a third-year student at UA. He got in through the entrance exam. He was closer to the bottom ranked students because his quirk isn't a physical one.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Takashi learned to use his quirk well enough by the end of middle school that he can return the voices he's stolen if he chooses to do so.
Failures & Embarrassments
Before he could control his quirk, Takashi accidentally stole the voices of his elementary school bullies, and they were mute for almost six years before he figured out how to return their voices.
Mental Trauma
Stealing voices and suddenly not being able to talk to people really freaked him out when he was little, so he decided not to talk very much so he wouldn't accidentally steal his own voice. Of course, he can't do that to himself, but as a kid, he thought it was possible so he just stopped talking. He still talked, just not as much as the normal person. He didn't really open up again until after he became friends with Mera.
Intellectual Characteristics
Takashi is a very methodical thinker.
Morality & Philosophy
Villains need to be brought down from their pedestals, and Takashi believes that silencing them is a good first step. He's not against killing, but as a student and a hero in training, he's decided not to as of yet.
Taboos
Takashi used to be okay with taking people's voices just because he thinks they're annoying. He usually gives them back sooner rather than later. When he first met Mera and stole her voice, he kept it for a few days. He's mellowed out some since then. Now he doesn't take voices (usually) unless they've done something to actually wrong him or someone he cares about. He still takes Mera's sometimes to mess with her or make her be quiet when she's too rambunctious.
PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS
Motivation
Takashi wants to knock all villains off of their pedestals, or at least their soap boxes.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Good at: Cooking, stealth, throwing knives/fighting with knives, judo, baking, sketching, dancing, playing the guitar, and picking locks
Bad at: Chess, telling stories, singing, playing the piano
Likes & Dislikes
Likes: Mera Fujimura, listening to Mera sing, basketball, drawing, math class, mint chocolate chip ice cream, practicing with knives, darts, reptiles and amphibians (crocodiles are his favorite), reading, and legos.
Dislikes: Spiders, swimming, having his picture taken, yelling, chess, clue mystery games (Mera always wins those), and EDM
Virtues & Personality perks
Takashi is a good listener. He's very laid back and peaceful unless you make him angry or he doesn't like you. He's very protective of those he cares about. He has a good sense of humor and likes to joke around, especially with Akashi who doesn’t really like him.
Vices & Personality flaws
Takashi is a very dangerous person to be on the bad side of, especially if you threaten the people he cares out. Especially if that person is Mera; he'd kill for her. He has quiet anger though. You’ll probably never notice if he’s upset with you; he’s good at concealing his feelings if he has to.
SOCIAL
Contacts & Relations
Takashi's girlfriend is Mera Fujimura and they've been together for over a year.
Family Ties
Takashi is an only child. His dad is a nurse and his mom is an underground hero called Miss Whisper.
Hobbies & Pets
Back at home, Takashi has a pet komodo dragon named Memphis.
Speech
Takashi doesn't talk more than he needs to.
Wealth & Financial state
The Miyamoto family lives off of an average income.
