My main hobby is just procrastinating in any way I can. The plan was to make a cup of coffee and then start working. What actually happened is that I watched a 3 part video series (by james hoffmann ofc) on Aeropress coffee and made a few cups with different variables. Still not sure if I found The Recipe for me, but it’s getting better (tho I don’t love the coffee beans I have)

#altho i’m not sure I agree that inverted method is not worth the risks #maybe I just pour my water in too slow (bc I get nervous abt pouring too much) but there’s a fair bit of liquid that manages to get through #before I can place the vacuum on there #so I did it with inverted method #what I took from his recipe was the swirling instead of stirring and letting it rest for 30secs after to get a more even bed of coffee #I did 14g of coffee & 200g of water with a 5min brew -> swirl -> another 30seconds of letting it rest before pressing gentlyy for like 20-3 #seconds #but idk it’s a bit ’’one note’’ #which could be the beans #I have medium roast rn and I prefer light roast but the light roast beans have been no where to be found lately idk why #(there aren’t many actual light roast beans and the other ones are waay out of my budget) #(or at least good ones; there’s the one affordable light roast that’s everywhere but I don’t like it that much (but tbf should’ve still #bought that instead of these ones I got)) #like this is still way better than what the drip coffee of those beans are #and the achilles heel is that I don’t have a thermometer of any kind so my water temperature is guesswork every time #so tweaking variables is always a bit sketchy bc idk if I just had a better water temperature that time #studyblr #booklr #aesthetic #bookblr #books #study #reading #read #book #coffee #2023 #december 2023

i have these pmd OCs ived played through every game as (excluding gates to infinity). the idea being they reincarnate every once in a while and are destined to save the world together as partners, kinda soulmates who find each other in every life core. :)

the human is always a girl turned into a Pikachu named Frannie (Francis). and Mew reincarnates as a Squirtle named Kai (Aukai) their personalities change with each life, sometimes theyre just besties, sometimes its /romantic

my favorite series of games were the Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky, so it gets my fave incarnation of the two lol. i try to have their personalities match with how the characters act in the game, so Frannie in this life is selectively mute, Kai has a knack for understanding what she's trying to say and usually translates for everyone. Kai's a bit cowardly, bit of a bookworm, yearns for adventure, and discovers his courage alongside his friend. Frannie's brave, dives into danger, and naturally takes to leadership of their rescue team. in my little doodle, i figured Kai took a hit to protect Frannie and she's kinda frustrated at him for doing that, knowing she can take care of herself, but he just wants to keep his friend safe. ;___; <3

What flag?what's happening

I've got enough new people that probably deserve an explanation.

I made that flag. I designed it for my dad, whose projects are endless and always begin with "you know what would be a cool thing to do..." and then end, years later, with fully custom-built modifications that look like they could have been made that way in a factory. The text itself is a modified version of the Programmer's Credo, which in turn is a parody of a presidential speech about the space race.

Back when I first made the flag, I posted a picture here, on the hellsite, with permission to use the phrase in whatever projects people wanted to make. Sometime recently, someone cropped out all the context, so it was just a picture of my flag, and started circulating it on twitter, facebook, instagram, and here on tumblr, without any credit. It'd be something entirely different if someone was posting their own graphic. I don't care what people do with the phrase itself, but that flag is, specifically, my work--I designed that.

It's now been reposted by the Elongated Muskrat himself, with, of course, no credit.

I simply do not have the energy to deal with this. I have therefore quote-tweeted (should I have replied? I don't know how tf the bird site works) with a link to my redbubble and will deal with this later when the muskrat's site seems to be working marginally better.

I think this is often for a few reasons

- it leaves a lot less room for characterization errors (if thats something readers care about, which sometimes they don’t mind)

- most shows and visual media is naturally done in third person so to read fan works for that media in first is unusual

- most fan works are done in third person and so it’s sort of seen as a default where as books have a full mix

For clarification

1st person: I sat in the chair and looked over to the window. “What’s Jon doing here?” I asked.

2nd person: You sat in the chair and look over to the window. “What’s Jon doing here?” You asked.

3rd person: She sat in the chair and looked over to the window. “What’s Jon doing here?” She asked.

Which works together with Past, Present, and Future tenses too. They aren’t the same things, but they do go together.

Past (3rd): Jon pulled out a chair and sat down.

Present (3rd): Jon pulls out a chair and sits down.

Future (3rd): Jon will pull out a chair and sit down.
