These images show me testing what colour fabric to use for my final design a garment would look best. I initially wanted to try green as I picture mushrooms to grow around natural, earthy tones which is mainly green to me, so I tested out 3 different shades of green which coordinate with my colour chart, on photo copies of my final design and test dyed calico with brusho ink and the dark green being a swatch of fabric I bought from a shop. I discovered that I do like the dark green the most as the fabric is sturdier and thicker and when it comes down to the shape of my garment, it needs to have sturdiness to hold its form altogether. Also, mushrooms tend to grow in dark, shaded areas in real life but I think the colours might look a little plain and also unrealistic next to the mushroom frills as nothings just one colour.
