Mother and Father
A/n: Its genuinely wild to me how i went from like only porn bots following me to like actually 291 followers! It almost doesn’t feel real but I’m so grateful for you all! I held a poll earlier to determine who’d id write for as celebration for the milestone and arlecchino won! So here it is!
Prompt: how I met your mother
Arlecchino x fem reader
Tumblr media
Your job wasn’t too easy, but it also wasn’t too hard. You loved kids. You found their antics amusing, you found it hard to suppress a smile when they looked so cute. With Arlecchino’s most recent addition: Lyney and Lynette however is when you truly came out of your shell.
The children watched as you sewed together their favorite teddy bear. A disagreement earlier led to the bear torn right down the middle.
“I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to…” one child cowered.
“You know better now, you guys have to be careful with these. We don’t get toys too often now.” You gently scolded. The other children seemed a bit surprised. Including the guilty ones.
“So… you aren’t mad?”
“Not that much. You’re kids, its natural that you may wreck your belongings. You must learn to be more careful and how to repair them. But you are too young Talia, I’ll teach you how to sew when you get a bit older. Then you can repair your own toys.” You pat her on the head.
“I’m sorry.. I’ll do better next time.” Talia looked down as you raised her face to meet yours.
“I’m not mad Talia, i just want you to be more careful next time that’s all. Okay?” You changed your tone to be more sweet. Talia teared up a bit. You out the bear aside as you used your hands to wipe her tears, you placed a kiss on her forehead.
“Okay… can I help in some way?” She asked.
“Yes. I want you to gather all the stuffing Mr Bear lost so i can put it back in him. Okay?” You said. She nodded as she set off to retrieve it.
It didn’t take too long for the kids to like you. You were sweet and soft spoken. Your hold was gentle and loving, and they’d come to love your kisses. Especially Lyney.
“Lyney you know you should be asleep, your father won’t like it if you wake up too early.” You gently chided. He stubbornly attached himself to your thigh even more so. “Lyney you know I can’t just stand around all day. I have to make breakfast.” You couldn’t even kneel down.
“No..no… where my lynette… wheres my sister?” He cried. You brushed his hair lovingly.
“Your sister is in the girl’s barracks now. I’m sorry it must be hard to get used to that.” You knelt down carefully as he nuzzled his face against you.
“Can.. I see her? Please?” He looked at you so sweetly how could you resist. You picked him up, resting him against your chest as you headed over to where Lynette would be.
“Just be quiet now. We don’t want to wake anyone up.” You said.
“Why are you up then? Father won’t let us out until 6am.”
“Because I’m her employee, you, are her child. My job is to prepare you all breakfast. And my only help is sick today.” You sighed. Lyney seemed to think for a bit.
“Maybe i could help you?” He said. You thought about it. It would be better than nothing.
“Alright then. Just be sure to not let Father catch you out so late.” You smiled. Opening the door to the girl’s barracks, you noticed Lynette stood up from her bed. Quietly she crawled off her bed and trotted over to you, her little tail swaying in a excited manner. You felt your heart melt seeing how happy she looked to see her brother. This was their first night apart. You gently let Lyney down as he immediately hugged her.
“Brother, did you sleep?” She asked innocently.
“Not well. I kept having nightmares.” He said. She seemed to understand. “Lynette, we must help today.” Lyney leaned into Lynette’s ear “She said she has to prepare breakfast alone.” He said. Lynette seemed to agree.
“Well you don’t have to. You two could just go back to sleep.” You said. They shook their head.
“No no.. we must help.” Lynette said. You sighed. You couldn’t say no to them. They were just cute and determined, Lynette in particular was such a cutie with the bowtie on her tail. You struggled to maintain your composure as your instincts screamed at you to just pepper kisses on her cute little face and hug her tightly. But you held back.
“Alright just be quiet.” You said. The three of you now set off to the kitchen. You realized quickly that it’d be difficult for them to help given how short they are.
Nonetheless the twins were persistent. They cracked the eggs with caution. Lyney eagerly scrambling them as you prepared the wok for it. Its not easy cooking for so many children. But you’ve gotten used to it. A lot of what they eat is prepared by rations sent by various companies partnered with the Fatui. But the children always preferred fresh scrambled eggs than the ones in the rations, you noticed that when you do so they’re far happier and more well behaved. The only problem is how much that requires.
“We’ve finished the first batch.” Lynette held out the bowl of liquid eggs with pride as you smiled. There was thankfully no shells you could spot. But you trusted she would notice. Lynette was the most observant.
“Hmmm.. yes this is satisfactory indeed. Get to start on the next one and we should be finished.” You said.
The children were delighted to have fresh eggs ready for them. Even if they weren’t actually fresh but just warm. You helped portion out each child’s plate which took almost forever. But hearing their happy little ‘thank you’s helped you feel better. The room was filled with chatter and laughter.
“I worry you spoil them too much.”
You jolted as you looked behind you. “A-arlecchino!” You were a bit surprised. “Its just that… they’ve been working so hard lately I wanted to reward them with something small.” You explained, trembling. The children fell silent as they watched with anticipation for her reaction. But Arlecchino didn’t seem upset, nor angry or sinister. She was always hard to read however.
“I see. Children.” She sai, every child looked at her with alertness. “Since your caretaker has gone out of your way to provide you a must delicious meal, I expect no slacking off today’s training yes?” She said with authority.
“Yes father!” The children said in unison.
“You may continue eating.”she then turned to you. “Did.. you buy these eggs yourself?” You nodded. “Your own money correct?” You nodded. She looked over you, her gaze feeling almost… warm? You weren’t too certain. “Don’t work yourself too much next time. If you want to arrange such rewards I’d be happy to help. As long as its within reason of course.” She said with a surprising softness. You gulped.
“Th-thank you. W-would you like some?” You smiled nervously. Little did you know in that moment was the start of her ever growing feelings for you. But she merely shook her head.
“I’ll have whats leftover. I have my own chef so I wouldn’t like to deprive the children of their food.” She said. “Keep up the good work. I’ll be looking forward to it.” She said walking away. You looked on in awe, you knew she was scary yes, but something about her didn’t seem nearly as menacing. You weren’t sure but.. it appears you made a good impression on her. The children looked at you, concerned until you smiled at them.
“And you ordered… 67 bags of flour for the orphans? Yeah right don’t they have rations.” The rude guard said. The seller seemed a bit upset at the guard too.
“I’ve already told you that I work for the house of hearth as a caretaker. What crime could i be committing with this much flour anyways? I paid for it, every cent is paid. What is your deal!” You were annoyed at this rate. The guard seemed to not back down.
“Well how do I know if you have some secret? Huh?”
“LEAVE HER ALONE!” A voice came from the crowd that formed. You recognized it as one of the children you cared for, a teenage boy named Andrej. “You are a officer are you not? Do you not know it is illegal to falsely accuse someone without a trial to prove one’s guilt first? You shameful man! You dare to use your power for what exactly?” You were a bit surprised at his actions. He’d always been so quiet when you handled him, you didn’t know he’d value you so much.
“Why you-“
“He’s right though. What exactly are you doing officer! Picking on innocent civilians!” Another joined in. You recognized them as Danica. The officer quickly seemed surprised.
“Well i-“
“Zip it! Just wait until the Knave finds out the guards have been unjustly harassing her employees.”
“Please calm down you two. There’s no need to get that worked up here.” You said, placing a hand on their shoulders. “We’ll just file a report and be done with it.” The guard looked shock as they backed off.
“Don’t mess with our mother.” Andrej whispered at him.
“Andrej told me you were harassed today?” Arlecchino asked as you just settled in the flours into the walk in pantry.
“Just a powerhungry guard. I can handle it.”
“It isn’t a matter of wether or not you can handle it. Its a matter of why he felt it was okay to do so in the first place.” She stood infront of you. Looking down. “My children adore you alot, they would do anything for you. But they also shouldn’t have to. Rest assured, that man will be dealt with.”
“I don’t want to cause trouble that’s all. I’m not that fragile.” You said.
“Its no trouble to me. You are very important for the children’s wellbeing and morale. Infact I was wondering if you could do full time. Increased pay, more breaks of course. Don’t worry about the walk home at night. You will have a escort.” She said. You felt quite surprised.
“I’ll take you up on that offer then.” You smiled. She seemed to calm down.
“Very good then. Next time, let them your children protect you, its their way of repaying your generosity.” She left then. But you wondered what she meant by ‘your’ children.
“I don’t want him to touch me no please!” You heard little Lynette cry in her sleep. You had been passing the barracks ready to clock out when your maternal instincts kicked in. You bursted through the door rushing to her bed. You sighed in relief seeing she was okay.
“Lynette?” You called. She moved in her sleep. “Lynette!” You sat by her side until she woke up. Her eyes teary as she backed away. “Its just me sweetie. Don’t worry I’m not going to hurt you.” You offered your hand to her, to your surprise she rubbed her face against it. She wiped her tears as she came closer to you.
“I had a scary dream.. that’s all.” She said.
“I know.. do you want to tell me about it?” You asked. She shook her head. “Alright then, how about I make you some tea?”
“Tea?” She asked. “Isn’t that for staying up? That’s what father drinks.”
“There’s a special one I have, its to relax yourself. Come.” You stood up, she followed suit as the other girls sneakily watched.
You set the kettle on the stove as you showed her the packet.
“This is the special tea, you don’t use this if you want to stay awake. See the packaging is purple. Use it sparingly though. Now we boil the water and when its warm enough we just add it in. You’ll see.” You said, Lynette watched observantly. You could still see she was a little bit shaken up.
“Can I ask you something?” Lynette seemed nervous, though her face was stoic, her hands fidgeted with her bow.
“Of course dear.” You smiled warmly at her. Unbeknownst to you some of the other girls had snuck out to head your conversation. Many unable to sleep as well.
“Father is.. well our father. Because she provides for us and guides us. I once heard that a mother is the one who gives warmth and love to a child.. you fit that definition perfectly to me.. it feels wrong to call you miss or caretaker so much… could I call you mother?” She asked. Your heart soared. You took a minute to steady yourself. “Did i say something wrong?”
“No-no… its just..” you wipe a tear before she could spot it. “I’d love that Lynette. I don’t mind being called mother if that’s what you or anyone else wants to call me.” You said smiling.
“But why are you crying then?” Another voice asked. A little girl hiding in the shadows with a few others.
“How ling have you been there.” You said confused.
“We couldn’t sleep.. we just wanted some tea too.” The other girl said.
“Very well. Don’t make this too much of a habit though. We don’t have enough teabags for everyone to have tea time.” You said.
As Arlecchino walked the halls intending to just head to her sleeping quarters, the echo of laughter came from downstairs. Skeptical she immediately descended the stairs, pausing to watch as you sat with 5 little girls in a circle drinking tea.
“See you hold out your pinky like this, then you take a few sips at a time.” You whispered. The girls followed suit. Arlecchino leaned against the wall as she felt a sense of pride in her cold heart. Something about you was warm, warmer than her vision, warmer than the sun, and gentler than any cotton. Something about you made her forget the curfew as she focused on how domestic of a scene it was. In that moment you weren’t her caretaker or her employee, but the mother to her children.
“Like this?” A older girl showed her cup. They were empty currently as you waited for the water to cool. The cup slanted, if it was full it would’ve scorched her lap. But you had been clever not to allow so.
“You still use your other fingers Tanya. Oh see, Lynette had got it.” You smiled. The other girls followed suit.
“What do adults use teatime for? It seems so long..”
“Well typically you do so to relax and unwind if you’re alone, or to talk with other adults in a more causal but still refined setting.” You explained.
“What do they talk about then?” Lynette asked. Arlecchino noticed how her tail would curve slightly as she and the rest of the children sat at one of the dinning tables.
“Buisness, personal life… boring stuff. But sometimes its gossip.” You smile. The girls seem intrigued.
“What kind?”
“Well.. I heard that allegedly, miss Trudane, a very upperlady, may have altered her unwed brother’s will to make herself the sole beneficiary to his estate.” You smile. The girls light up in shock and intrigue.
“Really? Wait is that true?”
“Sh! Mother said to be quiet remember.”
Arlecchino felt herself soften at that. The children we’re referring to her as mother.. if she was their father and they their mother then.. her heart blossomed as she clutched her chest composing herself. She strode in catching the group by surprise.
“Father.” The girls lowered their heads.
“I’m actually rather curious, how do you know that?” Arlecchino asked looking at you.
“O-oh well it is just gossip. I heard it through the grapevine that’s all.” You said nervously.
“Do you by chance have another cup available? I’d like some tea myself if you wouldn’t mind.” She said. The children seemed surprised and almost excited as you quickly agreed. Getting up to get another cup while she sat next to where you did. Lynette looking up at her with curiosity.
“Y-you’re not mad?”
“No. I myself couldn’t sleep actually. So I’ll let this slide, don’t let this become a habit.” She said.
After sending the children to bed you and Arlecchino were left. You kissed each girl on the forehead while she watched from the doorway. Sense of comfort placated her as she thought of you. How she wished she had a figure like you when she was younger. How you now provide a loving mother figure for her children that she has thought of being. You both exit closing the door.
“Its late, If you want I could escort you myself, or you could stay the night.” She offered.
“S-stay?”
“I have a guest room you can stay in. Its in the upper levels though.” She said. You noticed it began to rain outside.
“I suppose I’d have to… by the way.. did you hear the conversation where they asked to call me.. mother?” You asked.
“I didn’t but I see no problems with it. The children have been robbed of any normal family life, abandoned by their societies with no love in sight, how could I ever deny them a mother when they have you. You work so hard to make sure each one is loved and cared for.. I have a great deal of respect for you.” Your heart raced seeing her smile, a gentle and genuine warmth from her.
“Thank you. That- that means alot to me.” Your cheeks dusted with pink as you smiled.
You truly became irreplaceable in the eyes of your children. They all clamored to protect you at any given moment. You noticed while cleaning up some drawings what looked to be picture of you and Arlecchino, side by side like husband and and wife. In the style that many family portraits are often drawn. You felt a little warm thinking about it. Arlecchino is a terrifying woman yes but… she is so kind to you. She is so soft and gentle with you, she protects you, you feel very safe in her presence nowadays. And the children, they’ve become more happy with you around. They call you mother and her father, a bond that is almost romantic to you. Its almost a bit embarrassing to you because you two aren’t romantically involved. Yet it seems now the children expect it.. Today would be mother’s day, and you anticipated having alot of gifts.
You actually underestimated how many you would receive. A plethora of drawings you planned on putting in a scrapbook, a surprising amount of jewelry that the children would combine their savings to afford, and even a little origami crane from some of the creative children. Freminet’s gift was quite noteworthy to you as he gave you the most pretty clam you had seem. Lyney and Lynette had gifted you a most beautiful earring set along with heartfelt letters that had you in tears. The excitement died down however as the children were sent for today’s training session. You watched from afar as the kids participated in physical activities. To your surprise Arlecchino came over to you once more, in her hands she held a most delicate box. You were a bit confused.
“Its only appropriate I award the mother of my children handsomely. It is mother’s day afterall, so take this as a token of my gratitude.” She said. You carefully took it. The children from afar noticed you two as some watched expectantly.
“Are they going to kiss?” Talia whispered.
“Shh!”
Your jaw dropped seeing the most intricate necklace. It fit your style nicely as she smiled at you with the most soft of looks you had seen in anyone. Your heart beat fast as you noticed the slight red in her cheeks.
“Thank you so much.. I- i truly cannot thank you enough..” you smiled gratefully at her. In that moment there was a sense of love you felt, her hands gently taking the necklace from its box.
“Here let me put it on you.” She said. Her fingertips brushing against your skin as you realized she wasn’t wearing gloves. Oh how your heart raced as you looked in the mirror she offered.
“It’s beautiful. Thank you.” You said instinctively hugging her. Her hands in turn wrapped around your body.
“They’re hugging! Oh my gosh!”
“Talia be quiet father will hear you!”
Arlecchino’s gifts didn’t stop at mother’s day however. You frequently received flowers from her that you often used to decorate the house of hearth’s barracks or play areas, mainly because you ran out of space in your own home. Besides, you had been spending so much time here now that your house felt more like a hotel than a home at times. You were reading a book silently as the children gathered around reading in silence.
“Mother..” Lyney shamefully approached you as lynettr and freminet had their heads down. “Could I.. confess something to you?” You felt skeptical. What could he have done to warrant such shame? They weren’t troublemakers by any means, if he broke something then he wouldn’t be this upset…
“Go on.” You placed a book mark as you listened to him carefully. He leaned into your ear to whisper: “Lynette and I snuck in a stray cat we found.. and we have fed it for awhile now keeping it in the barracks.. but it must’ve gotten out because we can’t find it anywhere. Have you heard anything?”
“I know it was wrong but.. I couldn’t bare to see such a creature be homeless.” Freminet mumbled. You smiled.
“Oh dear you should’ve told me! I could’ve taken in the kitty myself and bring him with me here! But I’m sure your father wouldn’t mind having a cat here.” You patted his head. “I’ll help you look for him, you keep looking down here, I’ll go check out the upstairs.” You had a feeling the cat might’ve gone there.
Recently you had been allowed up there more and more so you simply bypassed the guards. You realized however you wouldn’t be allowed to check the rooms. You asked around finding nothing, you took a deep breath before knocking at Arlecchino’s office.
“Come in.” You opened the door to see the cat in question lounging on her lap. “I assume the children are looking for he correct?” She said, gently petting the cat.
“Yes actually. Could I convince you to let them keep her?” You sat across from her. You could hear the kitty purring in her lap.
“Of course.”
“You see-oh. I didn’t expect you would agree so easily.”
“Well, a cat is a useful companion. I’ve seen how the children try to sneak in strays or have formed close bonds with them and I see no reason to deprive them of those bonds. We can’t take in every stray yes but I have no reason to prevent them from bringing a cat. Dogs are another issue, they cause messes and may be more difficult. But this cat is quite well behaved. In fact, she came in here herself.” Arlecchino “she may be good for mice control too. In the winter months is when mice tend to invade homes more. So her timing is perfect. Besides, she is such a beautiful tabby. Orange females are quite rare.” You relaxed seeing how she seemed quite fond of the kitty.
“That’s a relief, I’ll let Lyney know the cat is safe with you.”
“Actually could you take her with you? I have to leave in a bit and she won’t get up on her own accord.”
“Of course.” You approached her to scoop the kitty up as it meowed in confusion. Arlecchino’s eyes were on your chest that became slightly more exposed as you leaned down. “Thank you again Arlecchino, I’ll make sure that cat doesn’t trouble you.”
“Its no problem at all. So long as she makes you and the children happy.” Arlecchino smiles.
“Mother… why don’t you and father kiss?” That question had you shocked. You looked at the child in question as you tried to figure a way to explain it.
“Yeah mommies and daddies always kiss. That’s what my friend told me..”
“Maybe they kiss in private?”
“We don’t kiss no.. your father and I aren’t in a relationship like that.” You cleared your throat trying to regain composure. The children seemed a bit sad at that.
“Why not?” One kid asked.
“Because we just aren’t. Now go play with that cat.. or something.” You quickly took a step back to compose yourself. Watching the kids interact with each other as you fanned your face trying to calm down. But why did the thought or suggestion of that even make you feel this way? How come you felt so warm in the face? You sighed as you tried to clear your head of it.
Were you in love with her? Your boss? A literal harbinger? You knew people died by her hand.. but.. the way she holds little Lynette’s hand.. the way she her hands may suddenly find themselves on your shoulder slowly becoming more of a familiar sensation, her presence doesn’t actually frighten you as much as it used to. You’re more nervous if anything, that she’ll see through your eyes how you truly feel about her. The kids love you two, calling you mother and her father, she refers to you as the “mother of her children”! How could you not feel so tingly and feathery inside! She’s become so alluring too. You once found her scary and intimidating but now… oh you secretly crave her. She is such a menacing woman.. is it bad that you want her? Your employer?
You sighed as you were taking your break, getting lunch at a simple cafe with a nice coffee to clear your mind. You thought about your children with her, not by blood yes but by heart. They call you mother, they bring you gifts, your birthday is never forgotten anymore. You’ve truly come to see them as your own now. You have to remind yourself at times that you didn’t bare these children. That some heartless people let them sat on the streets without taking them home, you could never imagine so. Especially Lynette and Lyney, a most adorable duo. How could anyone ever hurt such innocent souls?
From what you know, the previous Father was far crueler than her. Freminet told you of how he scolded them for crying or weakness, how he lied about his mother’s death to him.. how Arlecchino had slain him and taken his place, how she had slain the man who tried to hurt Lynette… you felt a bit warm knowing the children had such a fearless protector now. And you too were apart of the family she established… maybe its not the worst thing to be in love with your employer, especially in these circumstances. But for the sake of your job and your work relationship you simply can never act on these feelings. You don’t want to ruin things between you and her..
“You called?” You opened the door to her office. You noted how Arlecchino’s blazer wasn’t on. Revealing her under shirt… her dark hands.. oh… should you really be looking?
“Yes I did, come in. I don’t bite.” She said. You approached her timidly. “I just wanted to reward you for such hard work. You’ve truly helped shape this place into a far more comfortable environment. I almost feel envious that it wasn’t like this when I was growing up.” She smiled at you. The butterflies in your stomach fluttered uncomfortably so.
“That means alot to me. I really just have a soft spot for children.. I adore them greatly and.. it hurt to see them be in such pain.” You said.
“Yes. But I wanted to invite you to dinner sometime.” She said. You froze.
“Dinner?” You said. She nodded.
“Yes, You’ve done so much for me that I feel as though I’m in your debt almost. You’ve gotten even the most disrespectful of children under control and you single handedly made this a home rather than a house for these children. I feel as though as the father I must reward you even more than I have.” She said, relishing in the slight red on your cheeks.
“I-i see.. but the children seem to think of us as… partners… I haven’t really been able to properly explain to them that we aren’t… you know.. dating..” you said.
“I don’t mind that assumption, that is if you’re fine with it.” She replied. You felt even more nervous. “Do you want to go to dinner with me? I’ll have a reservation for the most extravagant of restaurants. I’ll pay for the bill of course.”
Your mind raced, was this a confession?
“I’d love to.. if you’re fine wit-“
“I’m with it. I wouldn’t offer this if I wasn’t.” She assured. You felt such a rush of adrenaline.
“Th-thank you.. I- I.. I look forward to it.”
“If you want you could spent the night here.” Arlecchino offered. “I’ll let you stay in my room. I’m going to be spending most of my time in the office anyways”
“I.. if you’re okay with that then sure..” you said nervously. It was pouring outside as you debated how to get home at this hour. You followed her upstairs as you felt a bit nervous. This was a big step in your relationship afterall. Sleeping in her bed.. it feels so intimate.
“Here.” She opened the door to her bedroom. It was incredibly red, it was very intricate and detailed as you would expect a harbinger to have. The pillows more for decoration than comfort. You looked around as she watched you awe the room. “You can sleep on here whenever you like, as long as you aren’t working of course. But make yourself at home here.”
“I will thank you.” You said. She closed the door, her high heels clicked as she went to her office. You felt so timid. You looked in the closet out of curiosity, noticing there was two. They were both huge but one was empty. You realized she probably got the other for your clothes.. it made sense. You would eventually move in of course but it almost delighted you to know how thoughtful she was. She was already planning ahead.
That night you woke up to the door slamming. You jolted awake to see Arlecchino closed the door quickly as she undressed almost immediately. You felt quite flustered as she seemed to pay you no mind. She didn’t seem in the mood for conversation now so maybe you should keep quiet. You laid back, the moonlight was the only light as you noticed the unmistakable red stain coating the sleeves of her jacket. She then paused, turning to you.
“Don’t worry. I won’t hurt you.” She said in a low voice.
“I- just… um..” I’m a little startled that’s all.” You said.
“You should get used to it. This home I’ve made is still nonetheless a fatui organization.” She said, she didn’t seem like she was in a good mood at all.
“I know… how often do you come home like this?” You ask.
“Ideally not so much. But realistically its not uncommon.” She answered. You nervously bit your lip as silence settled between us. Once cleaned and changed however she sighed. “I’m sorry if I frightened you.” She walked over to press a kiss to your cheek.
“No no you’re right. I should just get used to this.” You said. She seemed pleased with that response.
“I have some things to finish up before bed, best not to wait for me now.” She said before leacinf without another word. You silently wondered if you had known what you were getting into by accepting her offer. But it was too late now. You weren’t going to ditch now. You’ll get through it, this time with her by your side.

Drawn to you like the sea to the shore ======================
Rafayel X Reader
(A/N): bro- why am I actually like this man having inspiration to write at 12 am. Like am I ok? Idk anyway I wrote this in one sitting and I forgot how to write… it’s been so long :(
Warning: Suggestive, pretty fluffy, light body dysmorphia (why does this work have a ‘y’ in it? Like English please chill for once!)
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Tumblr media
As you push the door from your bathroom you look at your boyfriend bashfully. You pull on your dress away from your body. You give a small cough to draw his attention.
“Ahem… Ralfy? Uh are you sure this is ok? I’m not sure this is the right outfit for me?” You start shifting on your heels.
Smugly he opens his mouth to say something, then he looks up from his phone and his jaw drops. The words escape him with a gasp. His eyes rake over your figure drinking the sight of you in. In what feels like forever he looks at your face through his lashes.
“Sorry was distracted, what did you say cutie?” Rafayel gives you a cunning smile while tilting his head.
“Maybe I should take it off-” you go to turn around to the bathroom and feel yourself be tugged. You feel your back hit a chest and you look up to see Rafayel staring at you with a serious expression. As your big doe eyes look at him he groans and stuffs his face in your neck.
“Don’t take it off my muse, you look like a true masterpiece. One that I could never recreate.” You feel his hands start to trace your sides, from the bottom of your thighs up to your shoulders. Paying extra attention to every curve and crevice of your body.
“God and the scent you have on drives me wild-“ he cuts himself off by inhaling you deeply before letting out a groan. “I know you think you look bad but babe trust me you look ravishing, the way your hair sculpts your face and your eyes give off the most gorgeous hue, not to mention your lips.” He turns you to face him. His hand caresses your face. A hand firmly pulls you close to him as he plants a feverish kiss against your mouth. Like he’s depraved and hungry for you.
Rafayel was always passionate about everything he does, when inspiration strikes that is. When it came to you he always had inspiration. Always knew what to say to you always knew how to hold you even, if he was a big tease about it. With his kisses he always puts his 100 into it. All the words that elude him he puts into his kisses.
He pulls away only to breathe for a moment before leaving hungry pecks on your lips and jaw. “Maybe I should take that off of you, and show you how much I want you.” You can only whimper not being able to get a word out.
Your common sense tells you to push him away so you actually make it to Ms. Talia’s event on time for once, but the other part of you wants him to. It wants him to so bad. Your skin feels like his evol is crawling underneath it. You feel your back pushed against a cool surface.
“Raf- Rafayel please.” “What are you asking for cutie? Fishies like me don’t understand human gestures.” He taunts with a laugh. He goes back to leaving marks over your neck and shoulders.
“Please… T-Talia is waiting for us…” You barely manage to push out between pants. He grumbles something against your neck and huffs. “Rafayel we promised to be on time this time.” You give him pleading eyes and he caves. He steps back as a groan of annoyance comes from his puffy lips.
“Why did you have to go and make that promise babe, especially when you look so good.” He gives you a lovesick smile and squeezes your hips. “Then I’ll change so you aren’t so… distracted.” You look at him as his eyes scan over your freshly made bruises.
“Good luck with that cutie, I’m always distracted by you. No matter what you, especially when you aren’t wearing anything and you’re in my bed underneath- Oof.” You cut him off by throwing a nearby plush at him. You scream a few profanities at him and walk into the bathroom trying to hide your flushed expression.
“Yeah you do that a lot underneath me to- ow! Was that a toilet paper roll?!” He picks up his expensive toilet paper laughing.
“Next time it’s the whole toilet!” You slam the door and a howl of laughter comes from the other side of the door. You swear that lemurian was gonna be the death of you.

Y/N’s POV
When you woke up, you were alone in bed. Marshall’s bed. You almost had to pinch yourself to believe it : after all this time, you got to wake up next to him again. Well… Almost next to him. The bed was empty. Still, you were surrounded by his scent, wearing his clothes… It was enough to make you smile. You got out of the bedroom and into the rest of the penthouse suite, searching for Marshall. You found him sitting on a couch, listening to music in his headphones. You greeted him but his eyes were closed and you obviously couldn’t hear you. You stared at him for a second. He looked adorable, all focused. You couldn’t help but plant a kiss on his cheek. He jumped and let out a gasp, absolutely startled.
Hi there, you giggled.
Oh fuck, I nearly had a heart attack, he chuckled. How did you sleep, my love ?
Like a baby, you said with a smile. I think the company might have something to do with that.
Oh, am I good company ? He mused.
Absolutely, you replied. I always slept better with you by my side.
Good, he said firmly. Because now, you’re not getting rid of me.
You chuckled and joined him on the couch, curling by his side. He gently cupped your face and kissed your lips. You cuddled for a while, exchanging sweet love words.
What do you want to do today ? He asked.
Aren’t we supposed to hang out with your daughters ? You reminded him.
They said we can do whatever we want, he shrugged. We can do that, though, if that’s what you want.
I wouldn’t mind exploring the city, you said with a smile. I haven’t been here in a long time.
Great then, he said with a smile. I’ve been here a couple of times already, but I haven’t had too much time to visit. Except some weed shops and the red lights district, of course.
Why am I not surprised ? You giggled.
Come on, it was twenty-five years ago, he chuckled.
Did you really go to the red lights district, though ? You couldn’t help but ask.
I’ll plead the fifth on that one, he replied with a smirk. Let’s order something to eat, shall we ?
You chuckled and he called the room service, ordering almost everything that was on the menu for breakfast. Meanwhile, you grabbed your phone and took a quick selfie in Marshall’s tee-shirt to send to Talia, letting her know that everything was perfect.
You’re into morning selfies now ? He chuckled.
No, you said embarrassed of being caught. It’s for Talia. Just letting her know I’m ok. And that we’re ok.
Give me that thing, he said with a smile.
He grabbed your phone and took you in his arms before kissing you on the cheek, taking a selfie at the same time.
I think this one’s better, he said with a wink. I think she’ll get the message if you send it to her.
You can take a good selfie, you playfully commented.
Well, I wasn’t going to use promo shots for my Tinder profile, now, was I ? He shrugged.
His reply left you a bit puzzled. You weren’t sure whether or not he was serious. The reasonable part of your brain was telling you it didn’t matter and that, after all, the two of you were back together. The other part, however, was freaking out. Still, you thought it would be a bad idea to let it show. Breakfast arrived and you went to the dining room area. Marshall seemed famished but you weren’t. You weren’t used to eating too much anymore.
You’re not eating, babe ? He asked after a few bites.
I’ll just have orange juice, you said with a smile.
Should I be… worried ? He asked carefully.
About what ? You asked innocently as you took a sip of orange juice.
He stared at you and sighed before taking your hand in his.
Am I supposed to pretend not to notice you’re like half the weight you were six months ago ? He asked with a raised eyebrow.
Well, I did lose a little weight, yes, you said in embarrassment.
A little ? He repeated.
Well, about fifteen kilos, but…
How much pounds ? He asked sternly.
You stared at him silently. You knew just how bad you looked and you weren’t about to play this little game with him. If he was unable to convert weights, it wasn’t your problem.
How much ? He asked as he stared in your eyes.
Thirty, you whispered.
That’s not a little weight, Y/N, he said sternly. That’s a lot.
You lost weight too, you pointed out.
Not as much, he shrugged. And I don’t look like a corpse.
Why, thank you, Marshall, you said as you got up and back to the bedroom.
You sat on the bed and groaned. Last night, he was telling you how beautiful you were and now, he was telling you you looked bad ? Way to talk to a woman… You sighed and buried your face in a pillow. Marshall entered the room and sat next to you, gently stroking your back.
I’m sorry, he whispered in your ear. That was insensitive.
You think ? You groaned.
You have to understand, baby, I’m just worried, he pleaded. I just want to make sure you’re ok. Did you do that on purpose ?
I didn’t, you sighed. I just… Wasn’t hungry anymore, you know ? And then, I got back to France and moved in with my Dad and he kept on pointing out that it’s good that I didn’t put on too much weight in the US, so… I didn’t stop eating on purpose, but I didn’t go out of my way to eat either, I guess. Being depressed doesn’t help in that department either, I guess.
I see, he hummed. I just want you to be healthy, my love.
I know, you said. I’m sorry I snapped.
Try and eat a few bites for breakfast, ok ? There’s pancakes, I know you like these.
I like your pancakes, you clarified.
I promise I’ll cook for you when I get the chance, he chuckled. In the meantime…
Fine, you sighed. I guess I can try and eat that pathetic excuse of a croissant.
Snob, he giggled.
You tried to humor Marshall and ate a few bites of croissant. It wasn’t much but he seemed satisfied. Besides, it meant there was more food left for him, which seemed like a good thing given the fact that he was guzzling everything that was on the table.
I need to eat, he explained. Performing takes a toll on the body. You’re losing water and burning calories. If I don’t eat, I lose thirty pounds in a month of touring.
You’re like an animal on stage, you pointed out.
You should have seen the shows years ago, he chuckled. That was something. At the beginning of my career, I could do like three shows in a night.
I wish I could have seen that, you chuckled. That must have been good.
I guess, he said. Although I was on a lot of drugs and booze, so I’d say I’m a better performer now.
Is that why you don’t tour so much anymore ? You asked.
It is, he confirmed. Besides, I never liked touring too much. Performing, yes, but never being home, not seeing the kids grow up, the constant opportunities to fuck around, drink and do drugs… Not my thing.
I’m glad you did this tour, though, you said softly.
Me too, he said. I’d do a thousand tours if that’s what it took for you to be back in my arms.
You sat on his lap and nuzzled his neck as he kept on eating. You stole a few bites of fruit from his plate, making him smile. You made small talk and researched fun places to visit in Amsterdam before getting ready for the day. As you were getting dressed, you heard a knock on the door and Marshall went to open. It was Paul.
Hey man, Marshall said as he let him in. You know today’s a day off, right ?
I know, but I needed to see you, the managed said. I have paperwork.
Sure. Let’s get this done quick though, we were just heading out. What do I need to sign ? Marshall asked as he sat at the table.
It’s for Y/N, actually, Paul clarified.
You stared at him in surprise. Paul acknowledging you was enough of a surprise but him having paperwork for you was definitely new.
What’s up ? You asked.
Well, seeing as the two of you are together now, we have to take some steps, he said. You know, usual precautions.
As in… ? You asked, not understanding.
I’m having you sign a non-disclosure agreement, Paul explained.
He handed you some paperwork as Marshall groaned.
Are you serious ? Marshall groaned. You’re seriously asking my girlfriend to sign a NDA ?
The last ones did, Paul reminded him.
Man, we just got back together.
Well, you didn’t provide me with the details, Marshall, Paul sighed. It’s just my job as manager to ensure everything’s taken care of. You can never be too careful. just a quick signature, Y/N, if you don’t mind.
Let me have a look at it quickly, you said. What is it about ?
This is a standard non-disclosure agreement, designed to protect Marshall’s privacy and public image. Basically, it’s restricting the disclosure of any personal information regarding him and his family, or any sensitive matter, Paul explained.
Ok, you hummed. So, basically, you guys can… sue me in case anything happens ?
Well, if you disclose anything confidential or publicly slander Marshall or his family, yes, Paul said.
You stared at him in disbelief, a bit insulted by the implication that you would hurt Marshall on purpose. If you were temped to slander anyone here, it was the manager. Marshall was staring at you with an annoyed expression on his face. Clearly, he wasn’t at ease here. You squinted and took a deep breath.
Paul, can I ask you a few questions before I sign ? You asked. Just so that I actually know what I’m signing.
Of course, he said as he took a sit.
You’re a man of law, correct ?
I am, he confirmed. I am an agent and manager, but also a lawyer.
As a man of law, would you agree to the premise that a relationship, in and of itself, is an agreement ? You asked.
I would say that all relationships are contractual, yes, if that’s what you’re asking, he replied calmly.
Now, wouldn’t you say that the basic term of this contract should be mutual trust and respect ?
Indeed, he said, but…
I hope you don’t mind me asking, you said with a smile as you cut him. I’m just confused because I don’t really see the trust and respect, here.
You have to understand that you’re in a relationship with a celebrity, Y/N, he stated sternly. It comes with obligations. I don’t mean to doubt your intentions towards Marshall, of course, but he is not only my friend. He is my client and it is my job to protect his image.
I’d say it’s a little rich considering that I’ve known him for a while and I’m the one whose image has suffered the most, you pointed out. You might have forgotten about that diss track but I haven’t.
You heard Marshall chortle softly. Paul looked at him sternly before turning back to you.
I don’t suppose there’s any clause protecting me, in that NDA ? You asked.
No, but you have to understand that Marshall would have absolutely no benefits slandering you or divulgating information, Paul replied.
Right. It’s true that it’s unlike him to write tracks based on his personal experience, you said sarcastically.
Hey ! Marshall said.
Sorry, babe, it’s for the sake of the argument, here, you said softly. My point is, I trust you and I would never ask you to sign a contract promising that you won’t slander me, because it doesn’t even cross my mind that you would. We just got back together and I would appreciate going on at least one real date before we get paperwork involved.
She’s right, Marshall told Paul.
If you want me to sign an NDA, I’ll do it, you told Marshall. But the request has to come from you, not Paul. And if we do this, I might have a few addendums of my own.
Really ? Paul asked sternly.
Oh yes, you said as you crossed your arms. At least two : one about potential diss tracks that Marshall may write about me, and another about your team’s duty to protect me.
I will let the two of you talk about it, the manager said as he looked at Marshall. But I will get back to you on that matter.
Wouldn’t expect anything else, you said sarcastically.
Have a good day, Paul said.
You too, man, Marshall said as he tried hard not to laugh.
Paul left the paperwork in front of you and left the room. As he closed the door, Marshall looked at you and smiled as he shook his head.
You are one feisty woman, he pointed out.
No one gets to insult me in the morning, you replied. I know Paul doesn’t like me, but that’s a low blow. Seriously, Marshall… a NDA ?
Well, yeah, that’s his job, he replied apologetically. I didn’t even think about it. Of course I trust you, baby.
If it means that much to you, I’ll sign it, you said. But I’m a little hurt by the implication.
Don’t think about it, he said. Let’s just enjoy our day, alright ? I’ll talk to Paul. But you standing up to him… that was something.
You liked it ? You giggled.
Are you kidding ? Little you putting that grown-ass man in his place by using his legal slang ? That was hot.
So I take it that you like women with a temper ? You joked.
Well I do, he chuckled. But smart women with a temper are even sexier. You are the hottest thing, right now.
Is it the use of the word “addendum” that has you all hot and bothered ? You chuckled.
Maybe. Let me show you just how sexy you are when you’re feisty, he said with a grin as he took your arm and led you to the bedroom.
A few hours later, you joined Hailie, Alaina and Stevie for a visit of the city. You even managed to get Marshall to tone down the security thing, arguing that it was Europe, Amsterdam of all places, and that having bodyguards would only draw more attention to him. You only had one security guy with you, dressed casually, and Marshall was dressed unassumingly. He seemed a little nervous at first, but when he realized you were right, he started to relax. You went to Museumsplein, enjoying the architecture and heading to the Van Gogh museum. The girls seemed happy to spend some time with their father and were ecstatic that there wasn’t a ton of security.
Someone’s relaxed, today, Alaina pointed out.
Must be old age, Marshall joked. Seriously, Y/N, you were right. Amsterdam is chill.
It’s one of my favorite cities in Europe, you said.
Do you come here often ? Hailie asked.
Not really, you said. Obviously, I’ve lived in Detroit for the last five years but back when I studied in France, I took a couple of trips here to… enjoy.
Meaning drugs ? Stevie teased.
Yes, you chuckled. I smoked my first blunt here when I was nineteen. My last one, too, actually. When I was twenty-one.
Did you try anything else ? She asked.
No. I’ve never been too attracted to drugs, you shrugged.
Aren’t you in recovery, though ? She asked, visibly puzzled.
Steve, maybe leave her alone ? Marshall interrupted.
It’s fine, you said with a smile. I don’t mind.
You let her ask you a few questions about your journey and your recovery and you answered them truthfully. The others were listening, too. You didn’t mind the curiosity and you thought you’d rather have them ask you questions directly than to assume the worst. Marshall was holding your hand as you walked around the exhibit.
Now that we’ve filled our brains with culture, how about some shopping ? Alaina suggested.
We still have a few days here if we want to do shopping, Stevie pointed out.
How long do you plan on staying here ? You asked.
About three days, Marshall said.
Then, Dad planned on flying to Paris to see you, Hailie recalled.
You girls know about that ? He asked surprised.
Yes, they replied in unison.
And I thought I was being discreet with my plans, he chuckled. Well obviously, the plan has slightly changed.
I would gladly enjoy Europe for a while, Hailie said. I’d love to visit Paris, go to Italy…
That would be a nice family vacation, Alaina agreed.
I guess, Stevie shrugged. Although I can’t wait to see my boyfriend.
They just moved in together, Hailie explained. They’re still glued to each other. Kind of like you and Dad, she added with a smile as she stared at his hand in yours.
We can chill in Europe for a while, Marshall said. I have about three weeks off anyway.
Seriously ? Hailie asked in excitement.
Sure, he shrugged. You can even fly your boyfriends, fiancés, whatever, in. It’s going to take a bit of logistics, but I guess we can make that work.
You are the best Dad ever, Stevie said as she hugged him.
I’m on it, Alaina said. I don’t have to work for the next two weeks. I will organize the best family vacations for us.
The girls were excited and Marshall was all smiles. Obviously, making them happy made him happy as well. They talked about their plans while you stared at a couple of paintings.
It’s nice, you commented. You having family vacations with your grown-up kids.
I’ve spent so much time touring lately, I’m happy to spend time with them, he said.
You’re going to have a blast, you said with a smile.
I hope so, he replied. What do you say, pretty girl ? Do you want to tag along ?
I should just let you enjoy with them, you said.
I want you with me, though, he said as he kissed your temple.
One condition though, you said. I’ll stick around if they’re ok with me being here.
That’s fair, he said.
He turned to his daughters.
Girls, we just said partners are allowed for this vacation, right ? He asked with a smile.
Yes, Dad, Y/N is invited, Hailie chuckled. But we still want some time alone with you, though.
You got it, he said with a smile. Thank you !
You smiled at them and mouthed a “Thank you”. You were happy they included you but you didn’t want to intrude. You got out of the museum and went for some shopping. Now that you were sticking around, you needed to buy a few more clothes anyway.
We’ll have to do some shopping, just the two of us, Marshall whispered in your ear.
We’re already shoppin nowg, you pointed out with a smile.
Yes, but I can’t take you shopping for lingerie with my kids, he chuckled.
Might as well hit some sex shops, too while we’re at it, you joked.
I think I’m going to enjoy these holidays, he said with a smile.
It was a joke, you quickly said.
We do have six months to catch up on, he said seductively in your ear. I hope you’re not planning on walking too much because you might be disappointed.
You blushed and giggled nervously, like a schoolgirl. He flashed a charming smile at you and went on to talk to Stevie, who was getting bored while her sisters were browsing the store. You were looking at a couple of items when Hailie came to you.
Can I talk to you ? She asked.
Sure, you said nervously.
The two of you went outside of the store. Everything was good with Hailie, but you were still a bit nervous. She might be a girl your age, but she had definitely inherited her Dad’s charisma and the memories of the day she went off on you were enough to make you worry about what she had to say.
What’s up ? You asked after a few seconds of silence.
I just wanted to thank you again, she said. Dad seems really happy that you’re here. I haven’t seen him this relaxed in years. I mean, family vacations out of the blue and hanging out without tons of security usually doesn’t happen for us.
Thank you for flying me in, you said.
Also, I wanted to clear the air… Obviously, I disapprove of you cheating on my best friend to be with my Dad but I see how good the two of you are for each other. And since Josh is over you now, I don’t see a reason why I should keep on being mad at you, she said.
Thanks, you sighed in relief. You know, I’m not a cheater… I’m not going to deny that I cheated on Josh and I know how wrong that was. Believe me, I still hate myself for it. But that’s not who I am.
I hope so, she said with a smile. Because if you cheat on Dad or if you hurt him, I will be your worst nightmare.
I don’t doubt that, you chuckled. But believe me, I will not hurt him.
She gave you a small hug and you went back to shopping while making small talk. As the afternoon came to an end, you went back to the hotel and spent a bit of time there before going to dinner. You were getting ready for his birthday dinner. You got dressed and joined him in the living room area.
You’re stunning, he said with a smile.
You don’t look too bad yourself, you giggled.
Next to you, I look like a peasant, he joked. I don’t know how I got so lucky.
You look incredible, you said as you stroked his cheek. In fact, if we weren’t almost late for dinner, I would gladly show you how attractive I think you are…
You’re such a tease, he groaned.
And you love it, you chuckled. Come on, we’re going to be late !
I swear, the second we’re back in the room, I am tying you to this bed.
The two of you went downstairs to the restaurant, as directed by his daughters. In the elevator, it was just the two of you and he took it as a great opportunity to make out. You loved having him all over you like this. It was the best feeling in the world. When you got to the restaurant, you were greeted by his daughters, his team and some other people who had flown in to celebrate him. He seemed genuinely surprised and happy to see everyone. As he was making his rounds and saying hi to everybody, you spotted Talia and Jamal. You immediately ran to hug them. After all, you hadn’t seen them in ages.
My baby ! Talia shrieked.
I missed you guys, you said as you took them in your arms.
We missed you too, sis’, Jamal chuckled.
It’s so great that you are here, you said in excitement.
Of course, we wouldn’t miss Em’s birthday, Jamal replied.
You know me, I could care less about this old man’s birthday, Talia joked. I came to see my bestie !
I heard that, Marshall grinned from behind you.
The four of you giggled and he hugged them before grabbing your hand.
Sorry guys, I have to steal her for a minute, he said with a smile.
You better give her back, Em, Talia warned playfully.
I just need to introduce my girl to a few people, he said.
He grabbed your hand and took you to meet a few of his friends. This time, it did feel like something official. You weren’t used to holding his hand in public, but it was pleasing. You would have expected him to be more distant with other people around and, in a way, he wasn’t as touchy-feely as when it was just the two of you, but he was still extremely soft with you.
Guys, this is Y/N, my girlfriend, he said with a smile. Y/N, this is Andre and Curtis.
By “Andre and Curtis”, he was casually referring to Dr Dre and 50 Cent. Your hip-hop knowledge may not have been the greatest but you were still very much aware that you were in front of two legends. You felt suddenly shy.
Nice to meet you, you said shyly as you shook their hands.
Very nice to meet you, Y/N, Andre said.
We didn’t know you had such a pretty girl, man, Curtis said with a smile. Kept her hidden ?
Kind of, Marshall chuckled.
So, what do you do, Y/N ? Dre asked. I mean, besides putting up with him, which is probably a full-time job.
With lots of overtime, you joked. I’m actually a PhD Researcher in communications.
A doctor, actually, Marshall corrected.
Right, you chuckled.
So what you mean to say is that she’s really smart and still puts up with you ? Curtis asked.
I’m not too sure why, but I’m happy she does, Marshall grinned, causing you to blush.
How did you meet ? Andre asked.
In the studio, Marshall simply said. She put up with me while I recorded the album.
And you’re still here, Y/N ? Curtis asked. We all know how that man can get when he’s in the zone…
They all chuckled, as it was apparently generally accepted that Marshall could be an ass when he was in recording-mode. They got to talking about recording and some newly released albums that they thought were good and you listened. Hearing him talk so passionately about hip-hop was always fascinating. He also seemed truly at ease and relaxed. Obviously, they were good friends of his and there was a lot of mutual respect between them.
At dinner, you sat next to Talia and Jamal, enjoying their company. You had missed them a lot and you were almost emotional. They told you how happy they were that you and Marshall were back together. At the end of the meal, dessert came : a huge cake with fifty-two candles.
Make a wish, you whispered in Marshall’s ear.
My wish came true yesterday, he chuckled.
Another one, then, you giggled.
Fine.
He closed his eyes for a second and blew the candles in one breath as everyone clapped.
Time for presents ? Dre asked.
No need for presents, guys, Marshall shrugged. You guys coming is enough. Unless it’s a Lions victory for the Superbowl. Then I want that.
He got a few great presents but the stars of the show were the plaques he was presented with, by Dre and Fifty, celebrating the album that was already certified platinum in the US, as well as Track 12, that was streamed more than 50 000 000 times already.
I believe that deserves a speech, Curtis suggested.
Fuck, Marshall said, visibly emotional. Uh… Ok. Obviously, I’d like to thank all of you for coming here and celebrating my birthday, especially while I’m on tour. I’m thankful for all of the surprises. I’m very grateful for everyone who was involved in planning the album and the tour. I know I’ve been a pain in the ass this year and I can’t promise I’ll be easier to put up with as time goes on but I appreciate each and everyone of you and…
He took a deep breath.
This album means a lot to me. I’m lucky to have had an amazing run and I’m not sure I will put out a lot of albums in the future, but regardless, I can say that if this had to be the last, I’d be proud to end on such a high note. And as for Track 12… You guys know I don’t really care about numbers but this one holds a special place in my heart. It’s the last track we produced for the album. We made it in secret a few days before wrapping the project. Very few people knew about it and the fact that it turns out to be such a success is crazy to me. I have to thank my man Jamal for the beat, Skylar, of course, without whose voice I couldn’t have done it and… Y/N, he added as he looked at you lovingly. The track would not exist without you and you are an incredible lyricist.
He kissed your cheek as he sat down and you couldn’t help but blush. Everyone chuckled and clapped before eating cake and over-indulging on champagne, for the most of them. The party went on for a few hours and you enjoyed yourself. It was really chill and you got to spend time with all the people you had missed since you left Detroit. Eventually, people started going to bed and you decided to do the same. The only problem was that Marshall was the one who had the key to the room and he was nowhere to be found.
Have you seen Marshall ? You asked Royce.
I think he’s outside with Tracy, he shrugged.
You went to search for him and, indeed, you found him with her. You hadn’t seen much of Tracy yet. As far as you knew, she was a longtime member of his team, working as some sort of assistant. You had never met her before, but it wasn’t too surprising seeing as Marshall was in album mode back then. They seemed to be in deep conversation and didn’t even notice that you were approaching.
Does she know about us ? She asked.
Nope, he said. I don’t see why she should. It doesn’t matter. It’s in the past anyway.
I sucked your dick in your hotel room two days ago, Marshall, she said sternly. How can you say it’s in the past ?
You unintentionally let out a gasp, causing the two of them to look at you. She covered her mouth with her hand, as Marshall stared at you with terror on his face.

Morning Cuddles
Soft Natasha
Natasha x Female Reader
summary You and Nat have a snuggle party with your kids in the morning.
The alarm goes off. Nat turns off the alarm. “Baby it’s time to get up,” she whispers. “Ugh no five more minutes,” you say not wanting to get out of your warm bed. “Ok fine five more minutes,” Nat says. You hear little footsteps coming, “Never mind about the five more minutes.”you say. “Good morning mommy and mama,” Natalie your youngest says holding her arms up. You oblige and kiss her head.
Natalie snuggles into you. “Hi Andy how did you sleep bud?” you ask your second youngest well Nat helps him on the bed. “Me tired mommy,” he says. “Me too bud,” you say. “How did you two sleep?” my wife asks our two oldests. “Good I guess but Natalie woke me up. I wanted more sleep,” complains Ali our oldest getting in between the two of us. “Well she’s like mama a morning person,” you say with a laugh. “I slept ok but Natalie woke me up too unfortunately,” our second oldest Nick says sitting in between you and Ali. “Natalie please don’t wake up your brother and sister next time baby,” you say. Natalie crawls over everyone and gets to Nat. Andy dose the same and gets on your lap and cuddles with you. “But mama woke you up I just wanted to wake up Ali and Nick so we could start our day. Mama says early birds gets the worm I forgot what that means but it sounds disgusting,” Natalie says proudly. “It means early people get a better chance to get what they want to get done today,” Nat explains.
“Really mama so that’s why Taila woke us up because she is copying you,” Ali says annoyed. “Well what can I say Taila likes to copy everything I do. Isn’t that right princess,” Nat says tickling Taila. “Mama stop please,” Taila says between fits of laughter. You just sit there watching this moment between Nat and Taila with love. “Nope not going to baby. Anyone want to help me tickle this little monster?” Nat asks. Ali and Nick start tickling her as well soon enough every kid joins in. “Mommy help me please,” Taila begs. You scoop Taila up stopping the onslaught of tickle attacks. “Thanks mommy you’re the best,” she says catching her breath. “I feel hurt that you think mommy’s the best,” Nat says putting a hand over chest and fake crying. “Don’t cry mama I’m sorry you’re the best too,” Taila says. She crawls over to Nat and wipes her tears away kissing her head. You have to keep a hand over your mouth to keep from awwing at the sight in front of you. “Oh I’m ok baby girl. Your mommy’s the best though I have to agree,” Nat says. Andy whines wanting attention. You pick him up snuggling him. You try to put your arm over Ali, “Mom I’m to old for cuddles,” she says. “Oh ok sorry you want cuddle with me Nick?” you ask. “No thanks mom im too old to cuddle with you and mama sorry,” he says. “Ok if you guys still want to cuddle me and mama will be waiting,” you say. “Why no cuddles with me and mommy,” Andy asks curious. “Because bud they are getting older and think they don’t need cuddles so that means you , Talia, and mama get all my cuddles. “Yay me get all dhe cuddles,” Andy says. “No I do,” Taila argues. “I do I’m older,” Ali says snuggling into her mama’s side. “I thought you were too old for cuddles mалышка (little girl),” Nat says with a smirk. “Yeah ok but I like your cuddles mama,” she says. Nick cuddle up with you. “I guess you aren’t too old to get a cuddle from your parents huh,” you say. “No I guess not,” Nick says cuddling closer to you. This is how you like to spend your weekend mornings cuddling with your family. You and Nat wouldn’t trade moments like these for the world.

yet another ask for people to write for me.
— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3
So… I just remembered more prompts I have mainly just platonic because that’s how I feel today. Also same thing as last prompt do tag me if you did something. Or link/comment title and website if you write a longer fic— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —
Batfam x reader (any gender)
so this is more of a fic idea but whatever. Also goes off of young justice time line for what happened to Jason Todd because I don’t like the whole Jason and Talia thing. Anyway the reader is a kid when the were put into the league of assassins to protect Damian and was trained alongside newly resurrected Jason Todd. During this time they grew close to Jason considered them to be like a dad and Jason considered them to be like his kid. When Jason left thought they left them behind with Damian this really affected him and made him feel extremely guilty for leaving but always thought that the reader would be fine with Damian. The thing is when Damian came to Gotham it really worried him so he tried looking for them and asked Damian about the reader but Damian didn’t know anything either. Around this time me members of the bat family start getting this feeling that there being watched But whenever they look around the can’t see anyone. What is this figure and why does it not seem to bother either Jason or Damian. Why does it almost feel familiar? (Ps if you don’t get it the figure is the reader also if you do this please don’t do any romance it’s not what it’s really intended for)
— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —
141 from cod x reader
I can’t put into words how happy I would be for any thing to be written where it’s just platonic for all of them but anyway I have more than one idea for this. — ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° — One: although I love price as a dad I want one where price kinda ignored the reader as a kid because of the military and now both of them aren’t on speaking terms and haven’t for a while but on one mission the 141 teams up with another unit and there stands the reader at like 20 one of the higher officers of the unit. The thing is the reader changed their last name to be their mothers maiden name so no one knows that they’re related and the reader pretends that they don’t even know Price.
— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° — Two: the opposite basically of the last one where the reader was raised by price as he was a single dad. Reader was a chaotic child and was for many years undiagnosed with adhd. The reader still is somewhat wild but isn’t when it comes down to the military work they do. One day price and the readers unit get teamed together for a mission and they have to work together, hopefully it’s not to chaotic for price.
— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° —— ° — Thirdly: I’m aroace for the few people who are out there who want to know but I really want one where the reader is just oblivious to someone flirting and/or is really paranoid that someone is flirting with them because they couldn’t reciprocate their feelings. That it really I just really want a reader who is aroace with theses people. — <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —— <3 —
Last but not least, a weird request to many but I want any fanfic where its omegavers and the reader is either a teen who has yet to present or one where the reader has a condition where they just never present and are forever a pup. I keep seeing omegavers where it’s about the reader being an omega and stuff like that but I want just one where there a forever pup and try and hide it because they don’t want to be babied but it just makes them sick and sad, but they pretend that it doesn’t. They get fond out when one omega goes into heat but they keep babying and calling them pup. Also I don’t want it to be sexualized heat but more of I need everyone in the pack in my nest type heat. I really really want to say this again that if you do write something like this do not make it sexual please.

Accidental Mates- Damian x Batgirl Reader- Omegaverse- Part 1-
Heads up- this will get pretty spicy in later parts. I’m sure the tittle is a clue why.
You look up at your pack alpha, your small body shaking.
“You useless omega pup!” He screameds. “I should have slit your throat the moment you were born, you pehtetic creature!”
You crawl back. Your hands claw desperately at the concrete floor. Why had your mother let him take you? Why? Why? Why?
A small click slinences your terrified mewls. He lifts the pistol. You scramble back.
“Stop moving!” He barks. “Don’t make me waste more bullets then nessasry.”
You howl.
“Drop your gun.” A strong voice demands.
The alpha only cackles. “Why would I listen to an omega.”
A loud bang scares you. You jump back, curling in on yourself. A thud echos the gunshot. You peek between your fingers. Your pack alpha falls to the ground, red liquid pools around his head.
“Are you hurt?”
You yelp, and scramble away. The omega drops to her knees. Her brunette hair falls over her black clad shoulders. She smiles kindly at you, hand extended to you.
“Come.” She calls softly.
Her scent reaches you. You sniff the air. She doesn’t seem dangerous.
“Come here.” Her green eyes coax you close. “I won’t harm you little one.”
You crawl to her. The near you get, the more soothing her scent becomes. Gently, she guides you into her arms. You mewl, still trembling.
“You’re a beautiful pup, aren’t you?” She combs a hand through your hair. “I‘lol take somewhere where no one will hurt you.”
She shifted, gathering her weight. You cling to her. ‘Don’t leave’ you want scream.
“I’m not leaving you, little one.” She picks you up easily.
She didn’t leave. Talia was far better of a mother than you pack omega had been. She cared for you and loved you as her own. The omega always welcomed you into your arms, no matter how inconvenient the time was. She trained you to fight. She didn’t push you in anyway, but gently raised and trained you. The six years you spent with her were the best of your life. At ten, your pack alpha tired of you and tried to kill you. At sixteen, something changed. You never knew why, but you were shipped off to Gotham City to live with Bruce, her ex husband.
Even after a year! You often find yourself longing for Talia’s comfort. Your older omega siblings try to offer you the same comfort, but it’s not the same. Even held ageinst another omega’s side, you miss Talia.
Stephanie strokes your hair softly. You adjust to your adopted sister’s touch. The sensation leaves you feeling more empty than you felt before you crawled into her arms. You pull away, holding back a sigh. She letsyou go, saying nothing. Of all the omega’s she understands your sadness the best.
Tim enters the room. “Ready to go, Babe?” He asks his omega.
Steph nods. She squeezes you one last time. “I’ll see you later, Y/n.”
You mange to nod.
“Call if you need anything.” She says with a soft smile.
“I will.” You lie.
Why would call? She can smother you in attention and affection, but you’ll still miss Talia. You’ll still crave your mother’s touch.
@ultraxavbo for the reader as Talia’s kid idea

After receiving a lengthy comment on one of my recent ao3 works, I’ve spent most of my morning thinking about how fanfic writers portray Jason Todd.
People write fanfic for a few reason, one big one is they don’t like the canon and think more can be done with the characters/plot. It’s not the only reason, but it’s fuelled plenty of fandoms over the years.
Jason is a difficult character to write. He’s been handed around countless writers, had some good stories and some bad ones. He was unfortunately relabelled as the angry Robin, killed off in a way that a lot of people were not happy with, and the legacy he left behind in-universe affected every character.
I have mixed opinions on Under The Red Hood. I own the comic, I’ve read it, and I did enjoy it as a storyline. Do I like Jason as a morally grey antihero/villain? Yes. Do I think he deserved more than to be used as a pawn in the succession of Batman, Talia’s plan to send Damian off to Gotham, and essentially being a distraction? Yes.
Not that he could have been ‘good’. His anger was justified from his perspective- because nothing worthwhile changed. He died and, sure, Bruce changed the way Robins operate and the gear to add extra protection, but that’s still a child soldier. Jason was the first Robin in line to the grave, even if the major deaths were retconned later on.
It’s his anger at Tim- which yes can be accounted partiality to being replaced and pit madness- that I disagree with. Jason died as a kid because of Robin, no matter which way you spin it. That anger at the injustice should have been spun to his brutal protection of any child. Tim shouldn’t have been excluded, if anything he should have been protected more.
A lot of the stuff I write is AU I don’t write Jason as a villain much currently but I’ve always enjoyed the more anti-hero leaning Jason. I don’t care about him killing, being a crime lord, or antagonising the Bats.
I can see everything his character is and has been and still wish his hand of cards had been better.
My personal opinion, which means shit all to any one else and you are very welcome to take with a grain of salt, is Jason's villain-arc should have been him acting solitary, separate from the League of Assassins. One gripe I have with fanfic is others writing that a non-league affected Jason would go straight back to Bruce. I don’t know about you, but if I were in Jason's decomposing dress shoes I’d be pretty pissed.
As I’m writing this now, I really want to create that story myself- which is the whole point of fanfiction.
This is longwinded and could be put in better words, but these are the only ones I’ve got I’m afraid. Fanfiction can be a change to canon and it’s characters, some good and bad, but always different. It doesn’t mean we ‘don’t even like the character’ or aren’t a true fan. Every portrayal will variate from the original.
Robin in the past has been viewed as a generic side kick, with very little difference between Robin 1 & 2. Their designs were near identical, their creation based on being Batman's partner, and No.2 was quite literally voted by the readers to be murdered. Of course they will be different as they grow and change with their audiences, they are stories.
Jason Todd is not the same character he was 40 years ago and he will continue to evolve for the next 40 years. Fandom will defer from canon as it picks an audiences favourite parts and ignore the lesser liked. I don’t try to write Batman comics, I personally have no interest of doing so, I am perfectly happy writing short online works about what I like from the stories I’ve been provided with.
If you don’t like fanon, read canon. If you don’t like canon, read fanon. It is as simple as that, there is no need to start insulting peoples understanding of your favourite characters because they hold different opinions to you. Enjoy comics without policing others.
Do not send any hate to the comment I am referring to if you come across it, they are welcome to their opinion, even if could be construed as rude.

do people who think talia would be a typical oppressive brown mother just want to ignore the thirty years of comics where she was portrayed as someone loving and kind who valued freedom and safety from the restricted environment of her home and from the havoc that her father’s and bruce’s endeavors wrecked upon her life to the point that she gave up her child to a normal family and walked away from her father and bruce to lead a normal life herself, to ignore the fact that she aspired to bruce bc he was noble and good and represented freedom for her, not bc he was the perfect specimen her father was vying for as an heir or bc she cared about him being the future of the world. like did we forget about that talia all of a sudden

Desexualized Mammy & Strong Black Woman, too busy for “frivolous love”
“Alyse” (Anon Submission) asked:
My science fiction story includes a black woman (Talia) who raises two children that aren’t her own and takes on two young adults as apprentices. One of the children she is raises has Arabic background and was taken into her home upon his father’s death (his mother’s whereabouts are unknown). She was a close friend of his father and the closest thing he had to a relative. The second child has mixed French-Latinx background and was taken in after becoming shipwrecked with no means by which to contact her people. Talia was the first non-hostile individual she encountered and one of the few who would so openly embrace a stranger. Since Talia is Master Medic (the highest medical authority in her community) she is training two apprentices (think residency) and eventually mentors the second child as well. She was once married and passionately in love but lost her husband to illness. In this setting, some technology we take for granted is inaccessible and violence against their people is commonplace. Most have experienced sudden loss. This particular loss was the catalyst that drove Talia into medicine- a desire to protect her loved ones and prevent others from experiencing similar tragedy. She is usually kind (though businesslike) but sometimes succumbs to a frigid, furious depression when, despite all her knowledge and determination, she can’t save someone.
I worry that her maternal association with the two children (one of whom is an outsider) mires her in the mammy trope. On top of that, she hasn’t pursued romance since the death of her husband. I’ve considered giving her a romantic subplot but there are already so many characters to keep track of. Furthermore, I just can’t see her engaging in the frivolous pursuits of new love when she’s dealing with kids, students, and an extremely taxing career.
In terms of race and culture in this story, practically every character can trace their ancestry back to populations displaced through war. Even Talia’s second child was shipwrecked during a botched evacuation from a military science lab. The people who live here have been isolated for generations and no longer have a real concept of their ancestry. Cultures have blended, new religions have formed, and many of our familiar racial/ethnic issues are forgotten. However, new and different but equally toxic ones have replaced them. In this way, Talia’s blackness doesn’t carry the same associations in her world as it would in ours. However, readers may still make these associations. Do you see any issues with her character that I could amend?
So! You have:
A highly educated Black-coded woman (the highest medical authority in the community)
She raises two kids alone
She also looks after two apprentices
She is widowed (not sure the race of the husband, was he Black?)
Having experienced heartbreaking love, Talia's drive to look after, protect and save people through medicine is a great motivation for the way she is. Her experiencing depression and taking losses seriously is also very human and is dynamic characterization.
However, such characterization with Black women is prone to brush across several tropes. You have a Black woman who gives and protects, but what does she get in return? Who cares for her?
Prioritize your Black character’s happiness
"I’ve considered giving her a romantic subplot but there are already so many characters to keep track of. Furthermore, I just can’t see her engaging in the frivolous pursuits of new love when she’s dealing with kids, students, and an extremely taxing career."
Priorities, priorities. Is love a frivolous pursuit in her eyes, or yours? Because I strongly disagree. You probably don't mean to but you, as the author, having an excuse to NOT give the Black woman romance is showing that you do not think she's worth being loved. TV viewers and stans who are uncomfortable when Black women characters have relationships find similar excuses to explain away not wanting BW in relationships.
"She's too strong and independent for a man/relationship"
"I liked her better alone."
"It'll take away from her character."
“A romance doesn’t feel right for her”
These sorts of statements above are grounded in racialized misogyny.
Relationships do not lessen the woman.
Relationships does not lessen Black women.
Love
Whether that love is romantic, familial, or friendship, it can come in many forms. Give Talia love. Because Black women characters deserve it! Either one or all!
Let her have a loyal best friend, a cat, and a girlfriend. Because why not? And not to downplay the love of children to parents, but please provide her love beyond what she gets on a maternal level from the children she looks after.
The stories that Black women are in today severely lack love for us, so why add to the narrative of Black women being all work and no play, and too [insert excuse here] to be loved?
Of course, you didn't provide all the details from your story, but I'm not seeing much of a balance from the struggle. She is a caretaker, teacher, doctor (or doctor-like figure).
Her position and background in itself is okay. It's the Strong Black Woman being presented with seemingly no commentary that strikes me.
Where is her team to help balance the weight of the world?
Who takes care of her when she's depressed from another loss?
What does she get in return from taking an emotional and physical toll to heal her community?
Do those around her recognize all she does for them and offer their friendship?
When does she get to relax and turn off the need to be everything for everybody?
Fitting love into a book with many characters
There are many books with several characters to keep track of. People tend to manage. Also, I'm sure some of those characters are in and/or out of relationships. Even stories that couldn’t be classified as romances have relationships of some sort. It’s unrealistic to have a ton of characters and none of them be in relationship(s) of some sort. Not when there’s so many forms of it and many sexualities.
Friends, frenemies, enemies, romance, affairs.. Relationships make stories (and life) interesting. By no means do I think adding these dynamics harm your tale. And what’s one more for a hard-working Black woman who sacrifices a lot and clearly deserves a shoulder to lean on? And, if you use an existing character to be that friend, family, or lover, then you won’t need to pencil in another character.
For romance specifically - I think a misconception when it comes to including romance in stories is that they have to somehow take over the story. Romance does not have to bombard the plot nor be described in lavish detail. Not every story is a romance and those sort of details aren’t everyone’s style or things they’re comfortable with. A sentence or two establishing relationships does not take away from the story. And how those relationships look and affections expressed will vary based on the characters, sexuality, etc.
Not every character needs to have a deep level of detail.
“Katie and Lisa, a newly engaged couple, walked into the meeting.”
“Jack and Jamie are a married couple in their 40s.”
“The two met in college. After two months of blissful courtship, they eloped, eager to start their happily ever afters. Twenty years together, they were still blissfully in love and never too far from one another.”
Sentences like the above are enough for some characters. You don’t always need to put in paragraphs worth of relationship-establishing details or plot.
When it comes to the characters whose love you would like to highlight, at least a bit, you still don’t have to go over the top.
Use subtle details.
“As soon as Talia’s back was turned, he gave her a longing look before shaking his head and getting back to the patient.”
“He squeezed her hand before taking hold of the stethoscope.”
“She kissed her wife goodbye before racing out the door.”
“You mean the world to me.” he had said, holding her face. Those words stayed with her all day, making her heavy load light as a sack of feathers.
“She soaked his shirt with her tears and he just held her tight, saying nothing, silently holding her together.”
As for Talia specifically…
Talia having the mindset you described, as love being frivolous and not a priority, is understandable knowing her background (I just don't agree with you as the creator using this as a means to keep her alone. Whether she’s romantically alone or without close friendships). She has lost so much, and continues to experience loss with patients. This can be extremely traumatizing. I gave some examples of being subtle, so perhaps that will help with the burden of feeling a thick subplot of romance doesn’t fit in your story.
And as Talia doesn’t strike me as someone who would go looking for companionship, what if she stumbles upon it without trying? Is there someone on the medical team that can offer her friendship? Someone who admires her and feels the urge to care for her that she feels the same for, or has pushed feelings down for? What happens when she can’t hold those feelings down anymore?
Takeaway
Talia deserves healthy love, even if she doesn’t believe it or feel she has time for it. That love can come in any and many forms, not necessarily romantically required, although it is a plus. A struggle-ridden novel is balanced by love, support and rest for characters that hold the weight of the world. If you do not, evaluate why you want to write Black characters in these struggle roles without at least a social commentary.

Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Word Count: 3k
A/N: I would just like to say, the first thing I thought of when listening to this song again was @wandaromanova’s ‘Memories’ and ‘I do.’ I recommend y’all go check those out if not for the song, then for the magnificent angst. Anyways... back to the regularly scheduled angst :)
Angst Week Masterlist
“Natalia.”
It wasn’t an easy thing to spook Natasha. She’s been through hell with her training, and if the Red Room had ever done anything helpful for her, it was train her to be the best. And the best meant never being caught off guard.
But the sound of her name ringing behind her definitely made her heart come to a stop.
Because Natasha hasn’t heard that voice in years.
“Talia, come on!”
Spinning around, the only thing obstructing her view was a watery sheen over her eyes. Quickly wiping at them, Natasha’s body went numb when her vision cleared.
“(Y/N).”
How were you here? The last time she saw you was--
The feel of your hand on her wrist stops her train of thought.
You shoot her a grin, and a sudden wave of affection hits Natasha straight in the chest. She feels her lips curl upwards to match yours.
A part of her brain was telling her that this wasn’t possible. That she hasn’t seen you in years. That the two of you didn’t part ways well. But it’s all overpowered by the part of her that’s never stopped loving you.
“I’ve missed you.”
Her heart flutters at your words. “I’ve missed you too.”
You let your hand slip down into hers, intertwining your fingers. Natasha tightens her grip against yours.
She was surprised by how soft your hands felt. The last time she felt your hands they were calloused and hard from years of handling weapons.
But it didn’t matter. Because your hands still fit together like pieces of a puzzle after all this time.
When you pull, she follows you, twisting and turning through the building.
Some part of her wonders where you’re taking her. Natasha knows she knows better than to follow you blindly. But she surprisingly doesn’t care. She’d take all the time she could have with you.
So that’s why she didn’t expect it when you suddenly turned around, slamming her against the wall.
At first she thinks that you’re going to kiss her. Your face was close to hers, the two of you nearly sharing the same air.
But then Natasha sees the look in your eyes. And then she’s glad she can feel your hands grasping her shirt tight, that her own hands were free to stop you if you were to try to kill her at this moment.
Your face twists from its normally sweet smile into a snarl, a fire burning deep behind your eyes. “So I hear you’re a hero now.”
She swallows hard, an uneasy feeling sinking deep in her chest. “I’m no hero.”
“You’re damn right you aren’t.” There’s an edge to your voice that she’s never heard before.
“(Y/N), I know you’re mad, but--”
“Mad? I’m not mad. I’m fucking livid.”
The pit only sinks further, because Natasha knew your anger was justified. What she had done was unforgivable. She’s never forgiven herself for doing it, but now you were here and all she wanted was your forgiveness.
“What did I ever do to deserve what you did to me?”
“I’m sorry,” she gasps out, your hands suddenly squeezing her throat tight. You were squeezing hard but she wasn’t stopping you. Why wasn’t she trying to stop you?
“All I ever did was love you, Natalia.”
She can hear the pain in your voice. And she wants to apologize, because she needs you to know that she never meant it. That she never wanted what happened to you to happen.
But all that comes out are garbled gasps as your hands tighten.
“Or should I call you Natasha now?”
I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.
“Natasha.”
“Such an American name.”
All it would take would be a simple widows bite and Natasha could get you off her. Heaven knows she’s done it to many assailants before. But something deep inside stops her from hurting you like so.
“Natasha.”
“Do your American friends know about me?”
Natasha pulls at your hands with weak hands. Everything was getting blurry now, dark spots filling her vision.
“Natasha!”
She blinks.
And suddenly in your place was Clint.
What?
Gasping for breath, Natasha tries to make sense of everything. You were just in front of her a moment ago. Where did you go?
From the back of her mind she hears Clint tell Tony that the whole team was down. That the Maximoff girl had done something to everyone.
Natasha could still feel your fingers around her throat, your breath against her face. And if she closed her eyes, she could still see you staring right back at her.
And Natasha’s heart breaks when she realizes she’s lost you again.
---
The quinjet was silent. It seemed like whatever mind games were played had hit everyone hard.
Clint was up front, trying to set the jet towards his farm. Of course none of the others knew where Clint was taking them, but Natasha wasn’t an idiot. She knew enough to know that it was the only safe place they had left that was kept out of SHIELD’s files.
Finally finishing his task, Clint moved to the back. For the rest of the flight he stayed glued to Natasha’s side. She couldn’t get him to leave her alone. Clint’s constant worries, while touching, only served to irritate her more.
He kept prodding at her, hoping that she’d open up and tell him what she saw. But Natasha stayed silent. A part of her wanted to close her eyes so she could see you again. The other never wanted to close her eyes again for fear of what awaited her in her dreams.
Soon the six of them were landing at the farmhouse. They went through the normal introductions that came with introducing your team to a family you had kept hidden, and while Natasha put up a front in front of the team, she had never felt more drained.
The fury on your face remained etched in her mind and Natasha suddenly hated the young witch for corrupting the only good memories she had left of you.
The rest of the day passed in a haze. Clint did his best to try to keep Natasha occupied. The second she found out his plans, she left him in the dust.
When the time came, she greeted her niece and nephew with practiced smiles. They were the only ones in the room that fell for it.
When she could finally slip away, Natasha disappeared upstairs to take a much needed shower. No matter how hot she turned the water she couldn’t get rid of the ghostly chill haunting her.
When she found the chance, Natasha tried throwing herself at Bruce, convinced that the only way to shut her brain down was to use her body. She didn’t know whether or not to feel grateful that he didn’t take the bait.
But soon it was nighttime and Natasha was finally left alone with her mind.
At first Natasha did her best to put her mind on anything but you. She thought of Ultron, Tony’s misguided creation. She wondered what his plans were, and why he had recruited the Maximoff twins for it. Whatever he had planned, it couldn’t be good.
But then the more she thought about the plans, the more she thought about the Maximoffs, and the more she thought about the two of them, the more she thought about the hallucinations the younger girl had imposed on her.
It wasn’t long before Natasha realized she was having trouble breathing.
Quickly focusing her breaths, Natasha tried to move on, rummaging her brain to think of something else. She quickly settled on Clint’s family, a group of individuals she’s come to known as her own family too. She thought of his children, the lovely Lila and mischievous Cooper. She thought of their unborn son, Nathaniel, that traitor. Although she pretended to make a fuss about it, Natasha actually felt honored to have him named after her. With the red in her ledger, she never would’ve thought she deserved such a thing.
But then the more she thought about Clint’s family, the more Natasha wished she could introduce you to them. There was nothing she wanted more than to be able to have the most important person in her life meet her newfound family.
With her heart clenching painfully, soon it became clear to Natasha that she wasn’t going to be able to get you off her mind. So she lets her thoughts run free.
(Y/N) (Y/L/N). Friend, partner, soulmate, you were the only person Natasha’s ever regretted doing wrong. After all these years, you were the only person who still haunted her to this day.
If only she could go back in time, she would have changed everything.
She would have held onto you longer.
Natasha fell asleep trying to hold onto the image of your smile.
---
It was the light footsteps that caught her attention.
Hairs standing up on the back of her neck, Natasha tightened her hand around her baton. The only people who knew where she was were her handlers.
So the sound of someone approaching must’ve meant she was compromised.
Whipping around, Natasha slammed the approaching assailant against the wall. Her hand was raised to deliver a devastating blow when she suddenly froze.
Letting go, Natasha pushed hard at your shoulders. “Do you have a death wish? Sneaking up on me like that.”
You send her a toothy grin. “Come on, Talia, we both know no one can sneak up on you.”
She rolled her eyes at you, sliding her batons back into their slots. “Yet you never fail to try.”
“We both know you love it.”
She hid the smile that threatened to show on her face, choosing instead to focus on the building across the street that she was surveying. “Ah yes, my brave little dove. Always destined to fail, but never smart enough to stop.”
Snorting hard, you find a spot on the ledge to sit down on. Natasha quickly followed suit.
“What are you doing here? I thought you were sent out to Morocco?”
You shrugged. “I finished early. Wanted to come see you.”
Natasha tried hard not to be affected by your words. The last time she saw you was nearly four months ago. You were both sent on your own missions, and while the two of you were rarely partnered on assignments together, this was still the longest the two of you spent apart. Natasha would never admit it to your face, but she had missed you.
“I brought you a souvenir.”
Risking a glance over at you, Natasha eyed the hand in your pocket warily. And when you take it out, she merely lets out a bark of laughter.
In your hand was a smooth gray stone, nothing that would set it apart from any other piece of rock available to be found on the street.
Natasha still took it without question.
It was a tradition the two of you had. Since it was hard to bring anything back to the base undetected, over the years the two of you came up with different ways to show your appreciation towards the other.
And the way you did it was through gifting her rocks from the various places you were sent to.
Although it was a weird gift, Natasha kept each and every one of the rocks you had given her. Her heart always fluttered whenever she would take out the stones she kept hidden along the inside of her mattress.
“I have something else for you too.”
You reach back into your pocket, but this time when it comes out, you’re holding a simple silver necklace with an arrow on it.
The longer she stared at it, the more breathless Natasha felt.
Rocks were an easy thing to hide. But a necklace? Not only has she never had a piece of jewelry to call her own, but how did you expect her to try to hide something like this?
Pushing down her nerves, she lets you drop the necklace into her palm.
“When I saw it I just knew I had to get it for you.”
The quirk in your lips told her you were thinking the same thing she was. Natasha barely holds in the laughter at the memory of her stabbing you in the leg with an arrow during training. You had limped around with a pout on your face for days after.
“Thank you. I-- I don’t have anything for you.”
You shake your head. “It’s okay. I just wanted to get that for you.”
Letting out a soft sigh, you turn your attention across the street, watching Natasha’s target go about his boring night. “I think we all deserve a little joy in our lives every now and then.”
As slow as she dared, Natasha let her hand slip into yours. From the corner of her eyes, she spotted the slight uptick of your mouth.
Your hand tightened around hers.
“Maybe one day we’ll be free from a life like this.”
Natasha hoped you couldn’t hear how hard her heart was pumping. Of course she wished that one day the two of you could be free from the life you both currently led. But even she knew it was just a dream. A nice but hopeless dream.
She lets out a hum, careful to hide how she was feeling from you.
But then your next words make her world come to a stop.
“Natalia, I… I love you.”
Natasha wakes with a jolt. Blinking hard, she barely made out the blurry outline of the Barton guest room from her teary eyes.
Your last words echo in her mind, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get them out.
Natasha lets her hands drift to the necklace hanging around her neck.
Even after all these years she still had it. It was the only thing she had left of you.
If only she could go back in time.
If only she had been a little more brave.
Then maybe Natasha would have told you how she felt. Because if she’s ever regretted anything, it was not saying those words back to you.
I love you, (Y/N), I do.
---
As quiet as she could, Natasha slipped out of the house.
It was still early, the sun having barely risen above the horizon yet. She knew she still had a good while before anyone else would wake.
Walking to the edge of the Barton property, Natasha kept going. The path, although unmarked, was a familiar one.
After a short trek through the trees, a small clearing emerged. Natasha couldn’t fight the sorrowful smile that graced her face when she spotted the maple tree that she’s come to love, as well as hate.
Making her way to the tree, she came to a stop at its base. There, sitting beneath the shade of the branches, was a small marker.
It had been Natasha’s first request after finally gaining Clint’s trust.
He got it for her without any questions.
Dropping to her knees, Natasha rests her head against the piece of stone.
As tears drip down her face, she lets her fingers trace the familiar name on the headstone.
(Y/N) (Y/L/N)
And with her body shaking with sobs, Natasha lets out a curse, wishing more than anything that you were still here.
---
“Natalia, I… I love you.”
Natasha froze. Although her heart sang at your words, a chilling coldness settled over her body.
You couldn’t love her. You couldn’t. Love was a weakness, and if the Red Room ever found out, they would eliminate you.
And that’s not what to mention what they’d do to her as well.
Almost as if sensing Natasha’s inner turmoil, you turn your gaze towards the redhead.
“It’s okay. You don’t have to say anything. I just… I needed you to know.”
There was a look in your eyes, one she only knew so well. She never knew what to call it, but now she did. Love.
You pressed a kiss against her head and then you were gone.
Natasha tried to turn her attention back to her target, but no matter how hard she tried she couldn’t get her mind off of you and your words.
What were you thinking, telling her something like that?
As the Red Room’s two greatest successes, there was a lot of pressure put on the two of you to act accordingly. Falling in love was definitely not ‘acting accordingly.’
All Natasha knew was her training. It was all she had. But now she was torn.
Does she keep her mouth shut, hide your love for each other, and risk a horrific death if the Red Room ever found out?
Or does she report you, basically signing your death certificate but keeping herself safe?
By the morning Natasha had come to a decision.
The days passed slowly.
Nothing happened.
Eventually Natasha fooled herself into thinking that everything would be okay.
She should have known better.
Nearly a week later, Natasha was awoken by the unlocking of her handcuff. Recognizing the men as Madame B.’s guards, Natasha followed them silently to the gym.
When she saw what was awaiting her, her blood ran cold.
Although bloody and beaten, she could recognize those eyes from anywhere.
Nodding at Natasha, Madame B. handed her a gun.
“You know what to do.”
She tried to swallow the lump in her throat, hoping the guilt would go away. It didn’t.
She held the gun to your forehead.
And in that moment, Natasha didn’t know what was worse, the way she could still see the love in your eyes, or the way your eyes held an unspoken understanding.
I’m so sorry.
Natasha pulled the trigger.

Helloo! I Love your writing! your a amazing writter!! If you are still accepting request it could be a oneshot, maybe, if jason todd was platonic yandere with damian's twin sister (reader). Perhaps when she was a child she was deemed worthless, even by her brother and mother and ran away. And well, Jason found her and raised her as a sister (or daughter). Years later she meets her brother who lives with her father (bruce) but she doesn't want to know anything about them and Jason is not going to allow them to take her away either🤔🤷‍♀️ Thanks!!

Worthless. Unwanted. Burden. That’s all you were to them. All you would ever be to them. Your own mother and brother, whom you shared your mother’s womb with, who were so supposed to love and care for you unconditionally, were the first to berate and turn their backs on you.
At least your Grandfather had been more tolerable towards you. He saw potential, something neither your mother or brother could see for themselves. He knew you would be exceptional one day; with time, consistency, and intense training, you would have a place amongst the League of Assassins.
But your Mother begged to differ. She knew her children, at least that’s what she said. She knew you wouldn’t amount to anything, not like Damian. And for that you were sure it was only a matter of time before she took matters into her own hands, so you ran.
You ran as far as you could and you never looked back. You never wanted to see the face of the people who hurt you the most ever again.
Never once did you think you would ever feel what it was like to be wanted, to be loved and cared for. To feel protected. To feel a sense of belonging. But that’s just what he ended up having to give.
He was there for you when no one else was and vice versa. He had your back and you had his.
The two of you were a team. A family. You and Jason.
You kicked ass together, taking names along the way. Tonight was like any other; an arms deal was taking place down at the pier. You and Jason were making quick work of all of them and it seemed like things were going without a hitch. That was until a stray bullet pierced through your left side.
You were down. You were bleeding. That’s all Jason needed to see red.
He didn’t hold anything back as he punched, kicked and shot his way to your side. He was quick to tend to your wound, having his own make shift first aid kit on him just in case of something like this.
Anyone who knew Jay would never in a million years imagine him to act so much like a mother hen but that’s exactly how he was with you.
You were always surprised at just how gentle he was with you. Nothing like the people you had left far behind, who would only live on in your more unsavory memories.
“I’m fine, Jay. It’s not as bad as it looks.” You tried to reassure him. You knew he wasn’t going to let you out on patrol for a few days at least. Maybe a week even. If you were lucky.
“I knew I should have had you stay home tonight. Now look at you; you’re hurt. And it’s my fault. I could have taken care of this one on my own.” He seethed, blaming himself like he always did when you got hurt.
“Really, Jay? There was no way you would have been able to take ‘em all out on your own tonight. Besides, we are a team. Remember?”
You didn’t give him the chance to respond before you continued, “I knew what I was getting myself into. I’ve been through worse. I’ve trained through worse. I’ll be just fine, Jay. Don’t go blaming yourself. Alright?”
He looked at you for a good while, staring into your eyes, seeing the life shining through them. But before he had the chance to say what he wanted to, a voice pulled both your attentions away from one another.
“Jason. Y/n. Are you alright?” It was only a matter of time before either of you would have a run in with Batman. You knew Jason had a past with the Bat but you still had yet to meet the Dark Knight. The man who was your father; Bruce Wayne.
Out of your peripheral, you could see Jason visibly tensing. It was almost like he was getting ready for a fight.
And as if things couldn’t get worse, Batman wasn’t alone either. His newest Robin was taking place at his side, much like an obedient dog would.
It was no secret who the all too familiar face belonged too; your brother, at least that’s what you once referred to him as. But now he was just Damian to you. Nothing but a stranger.
“Father, is this really necessary? Can’t we do this another time?” Damian inquired.
“No. We’re doing this now.” Bruce answered, never taking his eyes off you. Jason wasn’t liking this at all. Not one bit.
“Is your side alright, Y/n? If I could look at it, I’m sure I have something to treat it.” He said, taking a few tentative steps closer, reaching into his utility belt, but Jason wasn’t having any of that.
Stepping in between Bruce and yourself, making sure to shield you, Jason replied for you, “It’s already been taken care of. We don’t need your help.”
Pulling yourself up onto your feet, used to pain by now to easily push through it, you choose to speak for yourself, “Jay’s right. We’ve already tended to it. Thank you but your help isn’t necessary.”
It was silent for a while. Tension was filling the air, heavy and thick enough you could cut through it.
It was Bruce who spoke first, “I would like to discuss something of the utmost import-“
“Don’t bother. We’re aren’t wanting any part of whatever you have going on.” Jason interrupted.
Damian scoffed, rolling his eyes, “Like we would want you, Todd.”
“Damian.” Bruce warned. “I wanted to discuss this with Y/n, Jason.” Jason glared at both Bruce and Damian but stayed silent.
Taking a few steps closer, Bruce was directly in front of you now. Not too close for comfort but close enough to still be towering over you. “As your father, I want you to come live in the manor. We want you to be part of the family. Our family. Both Damian and I would prefer you to be with us. We can discuss patrol and everything else later, but right now there is a room already waiting for you.”
You looked from Bruce to Damian, to the hand Bruce had placed on your shoulder during his speech, to Jason’s hand tightly gripping Bruce’s wrist. You didn’t have to think twice about your decision.
“No thank you. Honestly, I don’t want anything to do with either of you. I cut ties with Damian and Talia a long time ago for a reason. Although I will admit there was a time I wanted to meet you, to see if maybe I could be a family with you but I came across Jason instead. And I couldn’t be more thankful that I did. He is my family now. And that is just where I plan on staying.”
Jason couldn’t hide the shit eating grin that had spread across his face, not that he wanted to anyway. The thought had crossed his mind that he may have to use his guns once more tonight ‘cause he sure as hell wasn’t going to just let them take you. He wasn’t going to standby and let his family be ripped away. Not now, not ever.
“Let’s get back home, Little Stunner. I think we both deserve some much needed rest after tonight.”
It was just you and him again.
Just how he preferred it.

Legos and Language
Steve Rogers x Reader x Bucky Barnes
Tumblr media
Summary: All bets are off when it comes to a Lego mishap in the Rogers-Barnes home
Rating: Y'all shouldn’t be reading the filthy things if youre under 18 anyways but this one is pretty PG (but language is the exception)
Warnings: Domestic stucky, suggested and slight smutty times, 90% fluffy, some foul language, talk of murder and destruction of legos forever, feel good shit, Steve, Bucky and their girl have babies
don’t steal my little munchkin oc names please, I like them
This is written from each lover’s POV, marked by ******** this
This is a work of love and hated of legos, solely to be read for a smile and maybe some happiness, be kind or go away
“Sonofabitch!” Your hushed curse rattles through the house as you stomp barefoot through your son’s pile of a semi built lego creation. With a few breathy “fuck’s,'' you hop over to the nearest chair to rub the new soreness out. Sharp indentations litter the underside of your arch, and you peel off a flat piece from your toe then mentally plot unmonitored use of the quantum realm to murder the creator of legos before they can cause any harm to you again.
Continuing your muttering, you delicately set your foot down and turn to the mess. You sigh in relief that you didn’t destroy any of the built chunk, you were only subjected to the ultimate test of parenthood, the loose pieces.
“Back to our regularly scheduled morning, coffee.” You say to the empty room, narrating your routine as if you were running a sitcom. Once in the kitchen, you set about making a hefty pot of coffee for you and your husbands, humming an 80s rock tune and letting your open robe swish around you loosely in the process.
********
They both notice you slide out of bed, a super spy and a retired Avenger don’t miss much in their own home. But rather than follow you down to the kitchen to disrupt your morning ritual, Steve pulls his husband against him and nuzzles his hair so they could get some quiet time of their own. A few moments later, Bucky is softly snoring against Steve’s arm, and Steve is on the brink of sleep when he hears a barely audible string of curses and the unbalanced thunking of feet along the hardwood. Bucky seems undeterred, so Steve leaves him be and slips out of the bed to investigate what caused the early use of language, not that he’s surprised considering their wife’s colorful vocabulary when the kids aren’t listening.
Pulling his discarded boxers back on from the night before, Steve saunters out of the master suite silently toward the staircase. He pokes his head into the nursery to check on the sleeping infant twins, and heads down the old hardwood steps, praying for them not to creak with every step. Halfway down the stairs, he hears you filling the coffee pot under the tap and the chorus to a White Snake ballad quietly playing from the speakers while you hum along. With a smile and a small head bob as he catches the tune, Steve steps across the threshold of the stairs toward the living room and kitchen, unaware of the torture devices scattered on the floor.
Steve intends to follow the wall to get to the kitchen without his presence known, until you hear a series of words that would make Tony blush and an unfortunate crunching sound of your son’s creation being smashed to bits.
“SONOFAFUCKINGMONKEYSASSHOLE WHAT THE FUCKING DICK ON A STICK GOD DAMN PIECE OF TORTUROUS BULLSHIT IS THIS?!!” He yelps loudly and tries to hop over the new graveyard of legos.
In his fresh misery, he misses you quickly dropping the coffee grounds onto the counter top and hustling toward him to make sure his verbatim doesn’t wake the twins. As you begin shushing him from a few steps away, Steve hobbles blindly toward your voice and you see it happen before you can say anything. Your big clutz of a husband smashes his un-assaulted foot through your son’s Legos, only this time Captain America is not the star spangled man with a plan. He has absolutely destroyed the near complete firetruck and you can only stand in awe at his ability to hit each remaining chunk of the build before he finally makes it to the couch.
“Fuck fuck fuck fuck, why the fucking legos? FUCK!” His wailing is not going to gain any sympathies from you, only entertainment at the weaknesses of men.
“Steven Grant, you shut the hell up before you wake my babies or I WILL send Bucky to the store and you can have twin duty alone.” Sitting down at his feet to pull the pieces off his skin, you scold him lightly but without any venom or intention. He hisses as you pull the flat plastic off his big toe, and you chuckle as his pathetic whimpers cease.
“So, coffee?” You stand and pull him up with you toward the kitchen, letting his calloused hands and leftover cologne embrace you like a blanket as he leans down to caress your cheek. He kisses your forehead and softly brushes hair behind your ear with one hand while the other grips your plush hip under the loose robe.
“Maybe something sweeter to distract me first? This robe is teasing me.” His lips ghost down your neck and he nips at your collarbone while pulling the thin silk off your shoulders.
“You kept me up late, baby. I need coffee before anything today.” You whisper breathily against his tanned, thick chest, whimpering and shivering as you feel him trace the marks littering your skin and gently squeezing the flesh he is so obsessed with.
He allows you to pull away only after you shudder again, but he stands behind you, hands locked onto your hips as you pour the bitter amber liquid into 3 mugs. Steve’s love bites on your neck keep you distracted long enough for Bucky to come down the stairs without being noticed.
“I thought we agreed there was no third wheeling in this family, and yet here we are.” Your bonus husband is perched against the refrigerator offering your favorite coffee creamer and his signature pout.
******
Bucky is roused by his husband rolling out of bed and the accompanying coolness that surrounds him as the sheets flutter back down against the mattress. He listens to Steve pad lightly down the hall to check in on the kids, Hudson in his room first, then Charlotte and Talia in the nursery.  As the footsteps recede down the stairwell, Bucky lets his body sink into the bed and the scents of his partners surround him and lull him back to sleep.
Until he hears a string of words leave his husband’s mouth, and a series of crunches and shattering sounds buried under more very inappropriate words. Now wide awake, Bucky shoves himself from bed and puts a loose sweatshirt over his head while he walks toward the stairs. He is halted by a whimper from one of his little twins in the nursery, but his ever present super senses note that both babes are still firmly asleep so he continues down the steps.
Not sure of the state of things on the main floor, Bucky alertly scopes the space and finds their son’s legos strewn about the floor. With a sigh, Bucky steps around them and shakes his head as he follows the sounds of his husband and wife to the kitchen. He is met with tangled hair and soft pants, an open robed woman more stunning than Aphrodite, and a man barely containing his impressive erection in his low hanging boxers. Bucky can feel the energy in the room, can practically taste the arousal on them, and his subconscious stirs awake, begging to join like a wolf waiting for the hunt.
*******
“And who plans on fixing our son’s firetruck creation? Because it sure as hell won’t be me, I will be taking care of our little girls where I am wanted.”
Steve is the first to respond, an arm opens toward Bucky in the same moment. “Honey we didn’t mean to leave you out, c’mon over here let us show you how much better it is with you.”
As Bucky steps into Steve’s reach, you push off the counter and into the thick warmth of your husbands. Their desire envelops you as kisses are peppered on skin and fingers prod at bits of flesh for a better grip on reality. The moment is nearly bursting with love and lust, blinding both man’s super senses of their incoming visitor.
“Who da hell bwoke my WEGOS!!!!????? MOMMYYYYY!” Hudson screeches from the bottom of the stairs and you’re running for him in an instant.
“Hudson Anthony! You do not speak like that. You know better young man.” Steve and Bucky hiss at the use of their boy’s middle name, knowing how he feels in both respects.
“Baby boy, I’m so sorry about the Legos, but you cannot use that language. No naughty words right?” You hate scolding him when you completely understand his frustrations, but heavens forbid he say any of that in public, the boy would be shamed and sent to his principal so fast even the Daily Bugle couldn’t catch it first.
Hudson sniffles and rubs his nose, trying to fight off tears of frustration in front of his daddy and papa, but quickly fails.
“But, is bwoken mommy. I woked so hawd on it! Wuh happened?” He begins wailing and stuttering breaths, and you pull him into your arms to hug and comfort him gently.
“Shh, handsome, it was an accident. See, they were left too close to the stairs and mommy stepped on some, then daddy heard her yelp and ran through them too. Papa moved them out of the way and reminded daddy that he needs to help fix it with you baby.” You bounce him on your hip, trying to push the sadness away like you did when he was a small tike.
Bucky and Steve step closer, each wrapping an arm around you and Hudson to initiate a bear hug. Hudson whimpers a bit longer then picks his head up from your shoulder and leans toward Steve, signaling he wants his daddy to hold him next. Steve pulls him close and whispers apologies only audible to his boy, but you and Bucky smile knowingly. They head to the far corner of the couch where they can have a quiet cuddle and talk about how Hudson can teach his daddy to rebuild the LEGO vehicle.
You lean against Bucky, enjoying the moment until he turns to the stairs.
“Time for round 2 with some sleepy babies?” You tie your robe closed and head up the walk way, stubbing your toe on the first step.
“Mother fu—dge on toast that was unpleasant.” You yelp and grip tightly onto Bucky’s vibranium arm. He chuckles and scoops you into his arms, carrying you up the remaining steps.
“Careful, I don’t want to use your middle name today too darling.” He winks, setting you down at the doorway of the nursery. With a huff, you begin fluttering about the room, softly waking your girls and beginning their morning routine.
“My sweet little Charlotte Ann, and my lovely Natalia Rose, you two are the most precious angels in this world. But for the love of all things holy, no Legos when you’re older ok?”

Tumblr media
The relaxing and sensual sound of jazz music filled the room. The chandeliers hanging above casted a golden glow over it, making the room more elegant than it did. People were dressed in nice clothing for the new year celebration.
Harry was not one for New Year’s eve parties, having to prefer sitting in the comfort of his home, sipping on some champagne as he tries to ignore the loud fireworks going off. But considering it was one of his old friends that was hosting this particular party, there was no way he would deny it. He enjoyed having to see his old friends again after a busy year of filming a movie for the world to see one day.
He stands with his friend, Jake, as he holds a champagne flute in one hand. Talia, his recently girlfriend-turned-fiancée, standing next to him with an arm wrapped around his waist. It had been two weeks since he proposed and two weeks since she said yes to marrying him. It was a joyous time for them after nearly a year of dating. Some might think they rushed but Harry ignored them. He knew if the time was right, then it would be bound to happen eventually.
Harry’s eyes scan through the sea of people while Jake and Talia are discussing animatedly about something he probably isn’t paying attention to all that much. His eyes wander around until they fall on a familiar figure. He blinks his eyes hard enough to make sure they aren’t playing tricks on him, and they aren’t. The person who he knew and loved before. The person whom he intended to spend the rest of his life with. The person who left him, not giving him a reason as to why.
Y/N stands with Natalia, occasionally sipping on her champagne as they talk. He should have known that their group of friends would stay in touch with her, even after they broke up years ago. She wears her casual dark jeans, a black long-sleeved shirt and heeled boots. A contrast to those around them, wearing fancy dresses and suits. She always stood out in her own way. It was why he loved her then.
Harry let out a breath, seemingly couldn’t believe that his ex lover is here in the same room as him. Talia notices this and questions, “Babe, you alright?” Harry breaks away his gaze from Y/N before smiling at his dear fiancée. “Yeah, m’fine. Just saw an old friend, s’all,” he assures her as he sips on his drink.
“Oh, d’you want to talk to her?” She asks, and Harry shakes his head because if he did, he wouldn’t know how to act or say to her. “No worries. Maybe later,” he says.
As time passes, Harry finds himself focused on Y/N numerous times. In his mind, he is already thinking of ways to talk to her. What would he say to her? Would she even want to talk to him? Or were they going to pretend everything was fine before she left him?
When he looks around for her again, he freezes as he sees her eyes staring right back at her, almost looking in shock as he is there too. There is a glimmer in her eyes that he always noticed. She gives him a small yet timid smile from across the room before breaking away from the eye contact.
Harry decides to pick up what’s left of his courage in his body to walk over and greet her. He leans into Talia’s ear, whispering to her. “I’m just going to meet an old friend. You’ll be okay here?” He says. Talia looks up at him and nods. She assures him that she’ll be alright, saying that she’ll talk to some other of their friends.
As he leaves her side, he walks through the sea of people to look for the person he hadn’t seen in a long time. Harry finds her grabbing another glass of champagne from a nearby tray and he smiles at this. He always knew she liked champagne. She doesn’t notice him walking up to her until he clears his throat. She turns around and her breath hitches as she sees him. Harry’s mouth dries up instantly as his eyes gazes upon her. Despite years of knowing her, he still found her beautiful.
The corner of his lips curls up slightly. “Hi,” he says quietly, his breath slightly shaking as he spoke. He isn’t sure whether she heard him, but her reply seems to answer that. “Hi,” she replies, with the same nervousness in her voice.
“Fancy seeing yeh here,” he chuckles. Y/N smiles at this; while it was awkward to have seen her ex in a long while, he never fails to make the situation comfortable for them. “Y-Yeah, you too,” she stutters.
She is not going to admit it aloud, but she misses the sound of his voice. How deep and raspy it could get. She misses his voice being the first thing she hears when she wakes up, or the hums she would hear in her ear as they would dance with no music on. She misses his touch whenever he holds her close, warmth and protection radiating from his body onto hers. She misses everything about him despite them not being together anymore for a long time, she admits but never out loud.
Silence fills the gap between as they both figure out what to say. On one hand, they can pretend everything is alright and converse like old friends. On the other, they can push their fears aside and talk about what is actually in their minds that seem to have an affect on their current relationship.
“So, how’ve yeh been?” He hesitates to ask. He’s not sure whether she would lie to him or give him the proper answer he needs. The answer he wishes he knew. Y/N doesn’t know how to answer that without making it sound as depressing as it is. There had been many times she wanted to give him a reason why she left him, to give him a little bit of closure that he deserves. Perhaps it is her pride that prevented her from doing so.
“I’m alright,” she says with a small smile on her lips. Her answer could be a lie or the truth. “And, you?”
He nods slightly at her answer. “I’ve been alright,” He gives her tight smile back. “Been a while since I last saw you,” he says and she nods. “Y-Yeah, way too long,” she says quietly. It’s hard to ignore how insincere the smile he gave her is. Y/N knows him all too well, even when they were no longer together. She knows by that smile that there’s something on his mind, something he wants to say. But she doesn’t question it.
Harry is aching to ask her. To ask what happened between them, why she left him without a warning, why she had to break his heart the way she did.
It’s almost like she senses what he is thinking because she then suggests to him. “Want to go outside for a bit?” She gestures to the backyard with her head.
“Yeah, absolutely,” Harry breathes out. He almost cringes at how desperate he sounds. “Um, after you,” he says, gesturing his hand towards the door. She softly thanks him and Harry follows right behind her outside.
“So-”
“I-”
The pair speak simultaneously as they walk and they both laugh at it. “Sorry,” she says. Harry dismisses this. “No worries.”
“You look great, by the way,” she says. Harry smiles at her compliment. “Thank you. You look amazing too,” he returns the compliment. She blushes a bit before muttering a soft ‘thank you’ under her breath.
The cold air wraps around the two bodies that once knew each other’s intimately. The stars look brighter that night and Y/N takes a deep breath as she stares up at the sky. She doesn’t realise how Harry looks at the small breath she let out, or how he admires her side profile like he used to when she sleeps. He stares at her for a bit more, like he’s remembering again what she looks like, before averting his eyes to the night sky.
“Saw you had a date back there. Someone special I assume?” She asks out of the blue. Harry freezes in his place. “Y-Yeah, she is,” he blurts out and clears his throat. “My fiancée, actually,” he says and he looks at her to see her reaction.
Y/N is surprised at first, feeling her whole body tense up before she relaxes. But Harry catches it. “That’s great. Congratulations, Harry,” she smiles at him before turning back the stars. She promises she is genuine about it. But maybe she’s just telling herself that. “How long have you both been together?”
“Nearly a year now,” he says. Y/N lets his answer sink in her head. A year, she thought. We were together longer than that for you to propo-
“Seems like a short time, huh?” She jokes, but Harry only gives a small smile. “Is it though? Too soon to ask if we’re both ready?” He says, as if he’s mocking her and something. And that sent a shard through her chest. Harry curses at himself, he shouldn’t be saying things like that despite them not being together anymore. She looks down at the ground like it was suddenly the most interesting thing and shakes her head.
“I’m sorry, Harry,” she apologises. Harry is quick to shake his head at her. “No, no. I’m sorry for how I said it. You did nothing,” he says. Y/N is silent for a bit before saying back to him.
“No, really. I didn’t mean to make things weird or uncomfortable between us. I’m just.. Sorry,” she says.
“How are you, Y/N?” He asks genuinely. Y/N is confused at first, wondering why he is asking the same question again. “I already told you, Harry. I’m alri-,”
“I mean, how actually are you?”
She turns to him, seeing as Harry is already looking at her with a solemn expression. “You don’t have to lie to me,” he says softly, almost sounding like he doesn’t want to scare her. And she knows what he meant and what he wants to know.
Y/N suddenly feels a lump forming in her throat and breathes in deeply. She clears her throat, hoping her voice doesn’t waver when she speaks. “I promise I’m okay, Harry. I just,” she sighs and closes her eyes.
“I don’t know. I’ve been getting by on my own. Trying to work on myself, you know, since,” her words falter, but Harry knows what she means. Since she left him without an answer to one of the most important questions in life. He nods his head slightly even though she doesn’t see it.
He lets out a sigh as he looks up at the starry night. “You know, it’s… kind of surreal. Us being here I mean,” he says. Y/N looks at him again with confusion written all over her face. “I’ve been wondering where you’ve been. I called but you never seem to answer. I just wanted to see how’ve yeh been, you know?” He confesses, throwing this big weight out in the open.
Y/N has her head hung low, like a child being scolded for stealing the last cookie from the cookie jar. But she knows he means well. And she hates how not only she caused problems for herself, but the person she once loved.
“I just… I miss my best friend, Y/N. I miss having her around,” he says, and he doesn’t realise how his words hit her like a truck. She breathes in sharply, feeling a slight pain in her throat. “And you don’t think I felt the same way then?” She asks softly, her voice already wavering.
Harry shakes his head. “No, love, I didn’t mean it like that. I’m sorry,” He’s quick to apologise but she dismisses it while ignoring the fact that he called her a very familiar pet name he used to use on her. “It’s fine,” she says, and her voice is almost quiet enough for you to not hear her.
“It’s just,” she breathes out and she looks up hoping that tears won’t escape her eyes. “I wanted to let you in. I could’ve answered the phone. But I didn’t. I know how bad I left things between us, H.” Harry’s heart jumped a bit at hearing her say ‘H’ again. She used to always call him that. It still sounds lovely as it leaves her lips.
“I wish I could’ve told you why I left you kneeling with the ring still in your hand. I couldn’t, though. Maybe I wasn’t ready that time, or never was.” It hurts for her to say this because she has imagined spending the rest of her life with him countless times. “I’ve had this constant battle in my mind for so long. I thought that maybe if I ignore it, it’d be like it never was there and we’d be alright. But it got worse and I couldn’t ignore it anymore. I held it on for so long and I couldn’t say anything because I knew I’d somehow ruin everything. Well, I did in the end.” And she feels tears streaming down her face.
Harry feels his tears escaping his eyes too, but doesn’t make the effort to wipe them away. As if he’s paralyzed in where he stands. “A-And, what happened after that?” he asks ever so gently.
Y/N wipes her tears away and takes a deep breath before continuing the sad story they’re on. “I lived with it and the thoughts consumed my mind. S-Sometimes, they can get dark.” She confesses but not all at once. She won’t tell him how she felt herself crumbling down and how her mother found her unconscious in the bathroom, overdosing on some pills she found. She won’t tell him how hard she cried in her hospital bed over the pain she was in. It felt like a shard puncturing through Harry’s heart. The fact that she had been struggling all this while and he never noticed it, it kills him.
“Then, one day, I just decided to find help. I knew I needed help. And I’ve been having sessions with a psychiatrist for a few months now.” And she smiles through her tears. “I’ve been working a lot on myself, been on medication and all. Then, maybe one day, when I feel ready for it, I’d come find you, apologise for the problems I caused between us. Didn’t think it’d be tonight, though.” She jokes and hangs her head low again, like she’s scared to see what Harry thinks of her now. Just a girl who’s sick in the head.
There is an uncomfortable silence between them and Harry speaks up again. “You infuriate me sometimes, you know?” Y/N looks at him and his eyebrows are pressed together like he’s mad. She is once again confused at what he meant. “I would’ve listened. I would’ve helped you. I would’ve,” he pauses and runs his fingers through his brown curls, taking a breather so he won’t actually lose his temper. But for Y/N, it’s like she wanted him to scream at her. Yell at her for leaving him behind for her own selfish needs.
“I would’ve looked after you,” he says softly, and it’s heartbreaking to hear the pain in his voice. “I didn’t want to burden you, H. I wouldn’t do that to you,” she says gently and Harry shakes his head at her. “Is that what you thought? That you’d burden me?” She only shrugs at him with a sad smile.
“I heard it before.” She says, and it makes Harry furious that anyone would toss aside the state of her mental health. “It’s not because of your job, Harry. Or your fans,” she assures him. “I didn’t want to overwhelm you with what I’ve been going through. You deserve someone who isn’t as fucked in the head as I am,” she says.
Harry now has tears running down his cheeks. He now wishes he could go back and actually pay more attention to her, instead of being ignorant to it. He remembers when she left, the neighbourhood had quite a bit to say about the rejection, particularly on her. They often talked about how insane she was to deny his proposal because marriage is what every woman needs, right? Granted, he told them off not to speak about Y/N so poorly ever again, but he still wishes he could’ve seen the signs when it got worse for her.
Now, she stands in front of him, and it might be wrong to admit this, but she still looks just as beautiful as the day he lost her. Her eyes still have the same shine and her smile still has the same warmth to it. He lets out a small laugh. “This is not how I actually planned to spend my New Year’s eve,” he says jokingly and they both laugh, almost like the entire sad conversation did not occur. “I know,” she says, smiling at him. She doesn’t realise how her words took him back to when they would get drunk on wine while watching romantic comedies together on their couch.
“This is quite an interesting relationship you and I have,” he says smiling as he looks up at the starry night. She smiles at him too before doing the same. It’s the comfortable silence filling the gaps between them now. Just two people under the stars, one has it all figured out while the other has champagne problems.
She looks back at the building, gold lights still shining as people are getting drunk and ready for the countdown. “You should probably go back to your fiancée, H,” she says. Harry sighs as their time together has come to an end and nods. “Um, it was really great seeing you, Harry,” she says as her feet fidgets against the ground. She feels like a teenager talking to her crush again.
Before he even thinks, Harry has his hand up, brushing off the piece of hair of face, and his thumb lightly brushes over her cheeks a bit. “You too, Y/N,” he says, and he means it. Y/N feels her face warm up, before nodding her head at him and leaving. “Where’re yeh going?” He calls out to her. Without looking back, she calls back to him. “Home!”
He only looks at her leaving for a moment before calling out to her again. “Y/N, wait!”
Y/N stops in her tracks and looks back at him. “Um,” he fumbles on his words. “If I call you, not tonight, or tomorrow, just if any day after this, because we’re on good terms, uh,” he blurts out his words as she watches him, amused by what he wants to ask. “If I call, will you answer? Like I said before, I miss my best friend,” he shrugs and has almost a pleading look. Y/N’s heart melts at him and she smiles.
“I will, H,”
Since their last meeting, a lot of things have been on his mind and one of them was Y/N. He hasn’t been able to stop thinking about her and the conversation they had. He knew now that it must’ve taken a lot of bravery to speak up about what she was going through. And he was proud of her. He really was.
He has been thinking about calling her for a while. He just doesn’t know what he’ll say. He wants to know how she’s feeling even though he’ll never know what it felt like for her to go through the dark times she went. But he could try to understand. He owes her that, at least. He spends some of his time off reading about mental health issues and educating himself more now.
Talia wanted to start planning their wedding, which makes Harry fill up his schedule more between wedding plans and music plans. He tries his best to accommodate whatever Talia wants for their special day. Though, sometimes he finds himself not focusing on the shades of white she suggested for her dress.
Sometimes, Talia would get mad at him for not prioritizing their wedding, seemingly as it was a very important thing for them, well, more for her. She gets mad at him for not focusing on their plans instead of hiding in his studio. She once told him to get his act together because if he wasn’t serious about this, he never would have asked her to marry him. That knocked a nail on the head as she stormed out of the room after another small argument.
Part of him thinks it's the thought of marriage finally sinking in his head. He has the girl, he got a ‘yes’, it should be as exciting as when he asked her. But he finds himself in and out of planning, always reverting his focus back to music, like he’s stalling. He still hasn’t told Talia about Y/N, but there was no need to since he’s with her and not Y/N. When Talia asked about his slightly red eyes at the party, he lied and said something was in his eyes. She believed it, of course.
Now, he’s thinking back to the situation with Talia. He admits he hadn't been paying attention to her as much as he should or helping out with their wedding. But her words now stuck with him. If he wasn’t serious about marrying Talia, he wouldn’t have asked her. He tells himself that he really does love her and he knows she loves him. So why is he hesitating almost at the thought of marriage? Why does it feel like he’s leading her on? He was so sure he wanted her. Unless he only asked her for the hell of it and to not be lonely.
He sits quietly in his little studio with his thoughts as his company. What is he really doing? He really doesn’t know.
She’s laying down on her sofa, staring up at the ceiling again. She does this a lot, having nothing much to do at home other than rereading the books on her shelf or following a recipe for a delicious meal. Instead, she lays down staring at the blank ceiling thinking of how her life went. And in the state of all nothingness, she thinks of him.
Meeting Harry again opened up a whole jar of emotions she kept hidden. It was no doubt that she still cared for him. She was still in love with him and if they were in another universe, she’d tell him that. She’ll do whatever it takes to make it up to him, for causing so much hurt to him. But she couldn’t. He belongs to someone else now. Someone who is more worthy of his love and time. And she’s happy for him, genuinely she is.
As she thinks about him, she recalls back to the days before it all went wrong. She remembers being scared. She had found his mother’s ring in between his clothes as she was putting away their laundry. She remembers being terrified of the commitment Harry was in. She knew for certain that he would ask her sooner or later. But for her, she still doesn’t know. She wants to marry him, but is she ready for it? Is she worthy of him devoting his love and time to her for the rest of his life?
That’s when the doubts came in. She was always battling the thoughts in her head more often after finding out that he might propose to her. She keeps a disguise up, pretending she’s not screaming for help or suffering, hoping that maybe it’ll go away and when he asks, she’ll say the answer he wants to hear. But she didn’t keep the disguise up for long.
When they arrived at Harry’s family home, she was overwhelmed. She saw the bottle of expensive champagne on the kitchen table. Their friends were there too. She was told they were just having a family gathering along with their friends, but she knew what was about to happen.
Nothing could prepare her for when Harry pulled her out the backyard, kneeling down in front of her with his mother’s ring in hand. She could still remember the look on his face, so bright and in love, then having to see it all disappear and his expression drop. He was speechless, so speechless that it took him a minute to snap out of it and run after her as she exited the house. She passed by the living room and had a glance of how everyone was rather to celebrate; no applause or cheers of congratulations were made.
She felt a lot of things that day. Pain, embarrassment, guilt, regret.
Now, a year later, she likes to think she’s doing better, not only for her family or Harry, but for myself. It’s safe to say it was going well for her, she definitely felt better. That dark part of her life was always going to be a part of her, but she was glad she did something about it.
She had struggled a lot before asking for help. She always had trouble sleeping and always felt herself drained to the core. She took some sleeping pills in hopes to feel better. Until one day, she just decided to down the whole bottle like she was downing a bottle of alcohol. She was lucky enough that her mother was around when she found her, her father too was quick enough to call an ambulance. It was too hazy for her to remember precisely what happened after. When she got admitted, she cried to her mother of how much pain she was in, and it killed her. She thinks of how selfish and stupid it was for her to do something like that. That’s when she decided she needed help, like really needed help.
It’s funny how life works sometimes. A few months ago, she was found nearly dead. She has been recovering now. It took a while to open up during her psychiatry sessions and her mother monitored her to make sure she was doing alright. She lives alone now, but still has her mother check up on her. She didn’t find it annoying, in fact she asked her mother to watch over her a bit because she doesn’t trust herself.
She’s healthier now, keeping herself busy to reflect and work on herself. And it did cross her mind a few times before to find Harry, to maybe apologise to him. But she thought that perhaps he didn’t want anything to do with her anymore. And that’s okay for her. Plus, she always hoped that he would find someone else that’ll love him just as much as she did him.
He hasn’t contacted her since they last met and she wonders whether he’s scared of doing so. Then again, she hasn’t made the effort to contact him too. Maybe they’re both scared.
She was about to get up and make herself some coffee after feeling a bit thirsty. She takes out a mug and sets it on the counter before she hears a knock on her door. She freezes in her place, her face scrunches up in confusion. She doesn’t remember having anyone making plans to come by. She hasn’t contacted her friends in a while and her parents would have told her that they would visit.
Knocks on her door snaps her out of her trance as she realises she is still in the kitchen. She slowly walks up to the door and looks through the peephole. To her surprise, she sees Harry standing right before her door. She pulls herself back from the door and thinks for a moment. How did he know where she lived now? Why is he here when he could have just called her?
Realising that he’s probably waiting outside for too long, she takes deep breaths and opens the door. There he is. Standing in his usual white t-shirt where you could see his tattoos through it, his black joggers hugging his muscular legs with some sneakers on his feet. His hair is a bit disheveled and she could imagine him running his fingers through it in a nervous and stressful manner.
“Hi,” he says breathily. His expression is somewhat hopeful, she thinks. “Hey,” she replies, giving a small smile. He’s fidgeting on his feet, something she knows he does when he’s nervous. So why is he nervous? She’s trying to come up with different theories in her head.
“Um, may I come in?” Harry asks. Y/N snaps out of her thoughts again and nods quickly, opening the door wider for him to walk through, hearing him mumbling a small ‘thanks’ under his breath. Harry looks around the small new apartment she now lives in, smiling at how it is very much her character the way she put things together.
She locks the door behind her and clears her throat as she faces him. “Sorry for showing up out of the blue like this,” he apologises. She only smiles and shakes her head. “No, no worries. I was just... wondering how you found where I live. I don’t think I ever told you that,” she says questionably.
The corner of his lips lift up just slightly. “Your mother, actually,” he says. She rolls her eyes playfully at this and lets out a small laugh. Of course, her mother would let him know where she lived. Her parents always loved Harry and treated him as family. Even when they fell apart, they still cared about him. After all, he was one of the only good things in her life that she cherished.
“Of course, she would. She still loves you for all I know,” she says with a sheepish smile. Harry throws his back in laughter and it makes her smile even more. “Well, I guess I might have to visit them again some time,” he says, smiling cheekily at her.
For a moment, it feels like everything was normal between them.
She shakes her head at him as she plays with her fingers, something he knows she does when she is nervous. “Um, I guess you’re here to talk about something else?” She asks, and she sees how his smile falters just a bit. “Yeah, actually,” he mumbles under his breath, but she hears him.
She nods with a tight smile on her face, seemingly trying to mask her anxiousness behind it. “Okay. Uh, just, make yourself comfortable. I’ll get you a glass of water,” she says, hurrying off to the kitchen before Harry could say anything. She sets a glass down and gets a jug of water. Her hands are shaking just a bit and she tells herself to calm down. It’s just Harry, she thinks. Whatever he wants to say couldn’t be that bad. Right?
She comes back to the living room where Harry is. He hasn’t sat down on the couch, instead he’s just standing in the middle of the room, looking around and admiring the little touches she put like the indoor plants and the paintings on the wall. She gently sets the glass down on the coffee table, the glass making a ‘clink’ sound on the surface. Harry turns around to face her and smiles, his little dimple making an appearance on the corner of his lips. She smiles back at him before clearing her throat.
“You had something you wanna say?” She asks, fiddling with her fingers. Harry nods slightly. “Yeah, I do. Um,” he begins as he rubs the back of his neck lightly.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want to say, been practicing the words in my head. So, I’m sorry if it ends up a mess,” he says, letting out a small laugh. She laughs a bit with him too. Nodding as she gestures for him to continue, he breathes in deeply before letting his words out.
“After we met last time, I, uh,” he begins and she swears she could hear how loud and fast her heart is beating. “I’ve just been reflecting on how we left things off. And I promise I meant to call you sooner, but I just didn’t know what I’d say that won’t make things weird and awkward,” he stops to look at her for a moment and the expression on his face is almost so familiar to her.
“When you told me your story, I felt a lot of things. I felt… upset and angry that I couldn’t read the signs that were so evidently there. I thought maybe I realised it sooner, or tried harder to help, I could’ve helped you and you wouldn’t have felt to have gone through it alone. I hated how you were alone in this and how you helped like you couldn’t talk to me about,” His breaths are shaky, like he might break any minute. She wants to caress his face so badly, comfort him, but she knows it wouldn’t be appropriate. He’s still engaged to someone else after all.
She looks down at her floor, taking a gulp in her throat. “Harry, what are you saying?” She asks ever so softly.
“I’m saying that… you don’t have to go through it alone, darling. I’m saying that I wanna be there for you now. Albeit it has been months, but,” he pauses to take a breath. “If you give me a chance, to let me in, I promise to always be there for you and to be by your side all the time. Whenever you need me.”
Y/N takes a moment to process what he had just said, shaking her head at him. “Harry, I,” she takes in a sharp breath. “I don’t think you need to do that.” Harry’s face scrunches up in confusion. “Why not?”
“I just, I don’t want to burden you. I’ve already made it hard for my parents enough,” she says, trying to convince him even though all she wants is for him to be by her side. He shakes his head, chuckling a bit. “You’ll never be a burden to me, love. I want to be there for you always. It’s my choice to do this,”
“What about your fiancée? What’s she gonna think about her fiancé or husband soon when he’s out there looking after some girl, Harry?”
“You’re not just some girl, Y/N. You’re my best friend. And I,” he pauses in his words again and takes a deep breath. “What?” She asks nervously.
The corner of his lips lift up just slightly and his expression almost looks guilty. “And I’m in love with you,” he says and that’s when she feels that her heart stops. He loves me, she thinks. All the time, she thinks the feelings would have gone away but here he is, in her living room, telling her he’s in love with her.
“No,” she says. Harry is surprised by her response. “No?” He repeats.
“You’re not in love with me anymore, Harry,” she says, almost like she’s trying to convince herself that. “Yes, I am, love. I’m still in love with you, even after all this time,” he says desperately to her.
“Don’t do this to me, Harry. It’s not funny,” she says as her voice starts to waver. “It’s not fair to your fiancée for you to say this.” It’s funny to her how she still doesn’t know her name, but maybe she doesn’t know hers either. Harry steps closer to her and his heart breaks a little when she steps back.
“Darling,”
“Don’t, Harry! Please,” she practically begs him. “Just go back to her. It’s been a good talk and it’s good to see you again but you have to leave,”
“I don’t want to leave you, Y/N,” he says and it’s surprising how calm he is at this moment.
“Harry, I,”
“I’m not engaged anymore,” he says, cutting her off. She stares at him in shock and disbelief. “What do you mean?” She asks. He sighs as he runs his fingers through his hair. “I broke it off with Talia. There won’t be any wedding,” he confesses.
“So what? You broke up with her just to look out for me? Are you insane!?” She exclaims. She doesn’t want to believe that he broke up with her because of her. She thinks back if she would’ve hid from him during the party, he’d still be in a happy relationship with Talia with no problems. Once again, she’s thinking it’s all her fault.
“I’m as sane as I can be,” He says, raising his voice slightly to match her tone. She shakes her head, paces in her place, muttering ‘no’s to herself. “Darling, look at me,” Harry says gently as he steps closer to her. “No, this isn’t happening,” She’s now muttering words to herself and it breaks him even more to think she might think this is her fault when it’s not.
“Look at me, Y/N,” he says as he tries to get her to look at him, but to no avail, she keeps her eyes away from him. “No, Harry. We can’t,” she says and she realises now how tears are starting to fall from her eyes. “Yes, we can, darling! Just listen to me,” he tries to convince her.
“You belong with Talia, Harry! Someone who has her life put together, a-and, someone who’s not fucked in the head as I am! She’ll make you happy!” She tells him, almost trying to convince him to go back and fix his relationship.
“She won’t make me as happy as I was with you. It wouldn’t be fair to her,” Harry says to her as he tries to cup her face and wipe her tears. “What wouldn’t be fair to her? Huh?”
“It wouldn’t be fair to lead her on when I’m in love with you!”
And then, everything stops. Silence fills the room and all you could hear are the heavy breaths between them. Harry runs his hand over his face before speaking again. “I tell myself that I’ll be able to love again after you. But the love I’ll have for any other will never amount to the love I have for you. It wouldn’t be fair to move on with Talia when all I could think about is you. When I know I’ll always be madly in love with you,” he tells her, his voice wavering with every word he says.
She breathes in shakily, feeling the painful lump in throat. “Maybe if we hadn’t met that night, you wouldn’t have to think like that,” she says so softly under her breath, like she was ashamed. She looks down like a child being scolded by a parent.
She hears him stepping closer to her and this time, she doesn’t step back away from him. She feels his hand under her chin, lifting her head up so she has no choice but to look at her. His forest-green eyes, ever so beautiful, are glossy with the tears he holds. “I wish you’d stop thinking that this is your fault when it’s not, darling,” he says gently to her.
She realises how close their faces are together, feeling his breath hitting her face as they stare at each other with the same look. She sees it in his eyes. Love. And maybe it’s because she’s emotionally exhausted or she realises how there is still love in his eyes for her and only her.
She gently yet hesitantly puts her hand on his cheek, seeing as how he leans into her touch with his eyes closed, as if he misses her touch all this time. She doesn’t waste another second before pulling his face closer and letting their lips crash against each other. Harry is quick enough to reciprocate the action. His hand that is not on her hand wraps itself around her torso so move her closer to her. All he wants is to be close to her.
She whimpers into the kiss as she feels tears streaming down her face again. She misses this. She misses his kisses, how soft and plump his lips feel against hers and how they taste. She misses the way he pulls her closer to him because he doesn’t want any space in between them. She misses him.
They don’t know long they have been kissing until they break apart to catch their breath. She feels dizzy after the kiss while he feels like he’s on cloud nine. Their lips still brush against each other and Harry pecks her lips softly as she whimpers at the action.
“I love you,” she finally tells him. And it feels so good to say it again to him. Harry sighs shakily, almost in disbelief that she said those three words, and his lips break out into the biggest smile. “Really?” He asks. She giggles as her hands cup his face.
Harry sighs and leans his head back with his eyes closed, looking so bliss in the moment. “I’m sorry. Can you say that again? I wasn’t paying attention,” he says teasingly with a smug smile on his face. Y/N gasps and playfully punches his shoulder a bit, making him laugh.
“I love you, you handsome idiot,” she says laughing at him. Harry shakes his head with a wide stupid grin on his face. He rests his forehead on hers, their noses brushing against each other’s. “Again, please. Just so I know I’m not dreaming this,” he says, his eyes closed as he savours in the moment.
She grabs his face in her hands and pulls him away so she could look at him. He notes how soft yet small her hands felt as caresses his face. “I love you,” she says again, more gently but having more love and passion in her words. And she loves saying it because she does.
She has always loved him and always will love him. Her beats for him as his does for her. Her thoughts are filled with nothing but him. Looking at him now, he feels just as lovely and beautiful as the days they were together before. She knows that she’ll never love another as much as she loves him. She’ll fully admit that she is crazy, stupidly, madly and truly in love with him.
Harry smiles ever so lovingly at her as his large hands cup her face. At this moment, it feels right, like they belong together. Despite the odds and struggles she had to go through, he promises to never leave her side, to always be around, to always be the shoulder she needed to cry on, to lend her his arms to give her the warmth and comfort she deserves. And he admits that he is truly, madly and deeply in love with her too.
“I love you too,” he says as he brings their faces closer to each other, enclosing the gap between their lips again. He misses the way her lips gelt and how sweet they taste against his. He swears he’ll never get tired of loving her. Their lips move against each other slowly and gently as they try to savour in the moment. A moment that just felt right to them. For a moment, her champagne problems are forgotten, even though it’s still something that will always be a part of her.
They part away soon after, now staring into the eyes they fell in love with. Their smiles are permanently inked on their faces as the two lovers look at each other with the only things they have on their mind that will get them through.
Love and hope.
And somehow, that was everything.

I Love Me - Harry Lewis
Requested - Yes ~ can I request an ethan/Harry one where the reader is curvy (bigger boobs/bum/hips etc) compared to Talia + Freya and the other girlfriends and they are on holiday with everyone and the reader feels a bit insecure and scared of what everyone will think when they look at photos, have photo shoots and insta comments, love you and your writing!! 🤍
Trigger Warnings: Body image issues, self-confidence issues
Authors Note: This was originally requested as a holiday, but I changed it slightly as my most recent imagine was a holiday themed one. I hope you don’t mind!
Tumblr media
As you entered the restaurant, an uneasy feeling took over you. Usually, being seen out in public with your friends, and your boyfriend Harry wouldn’t phase you — but over lockdown, you had put on a few pounds. Expressing your emotions in a healthy way, had never been your forte so when the lockdown restrictions hit, instead of going to the local pub to drink your sorrows away, with a group of friends you had turned to eating. Comfort eating had become the norm whenever you felt sad, lonely, happy, or to put it more accurately whenever you felt anything.
While you had been piling on the pounds, Talia and Freya, had been keeping to a strict fitness regime. So naturally, they looked incredible. While you just felt deflated. To make matters worse, this was a Sidemen dinner, meaning that not only were there going to be pictures, but eyes were going to be firmly on your table.
Instinctively, as you walked you grabbed for Harry’s hand. Thankfully, he was slightly in front of you, so you could hide yourself behind his broad frame. As soon as your fingers entwined, you found a sense of serenity; despite how short lived that may have been.
As the others crowded around the table, trying to figure out seating arrangements, you focussed your energy in trying to remain calm. All you wanted was to have a seat on the outskirts, so that you wouldn’t have to participate in the group Instagram photos. The self-loathing from the way you looked in this moment was enough to fuel your insecurities for a good few months, you certainly didn’t need the constant reminder on Instagram too.
Luckily, you managed to secure the seat you wanted. Josh, being the father of the group dictated where everyone else was going to sit. Usually, there was a rule of thumb that you sat in couples; but you had ended up sitting in between JJ and Freya. Harry was on the opposite side of the table, his phone in one hand, completely engrossed in an app, knowing him it was most likely Twitter. However, in this seating arrangement you felt sick. Your one lifeline, although not ridiculously far from you, had been cut off. You were going to have to brave this one out.
The waiter approached the table and introduced themselves. He had a cheery disposition until they made eye contact with you, their fake customer service smile fading as he served you his best judgemental glare. It lasted a split second, but you knew what it meant. The feeling of being out of your depth was confirmed in that look, it wasn’t just you that felt it, it was felt by those looking in on this dynamic of people. Why would they want to associate themselves with you?
“And for the lady?” He asked, glancing over at you again. His demeanour changed once more. You remained silent for a moment, mulling over whether to ask for what you actually wanted or order something that you didn’t want to avoid more disapproving glares.
“May I suggest the chicken caesar salad.” He adds, knocking you out of your stream of consciousness.
“That would be lovely thank you.” You respond. The last thing that you wanted was to cause a scene. In fact, the thing you wanted most was to be ignored, unseen. It was blatantly obvious what everyone was thinking, where their stares ended up… all on you.
The plates of food started to arrive, being placed before everyone. You looked around, envious. Their food all looked insanely good, Talia had mac and cheese while Freya had a vegetarian lasagne. To say that you were covetous, as you chowed down on some lettuce, was an understatement. Just some flavour would have been nice.
The same waiter came back to see if anyone wanted any desserts, Harry ordered a chocolate cake with some whipped cream and Freya ordered a cheesecake, Ethan wanted a coffee, the others weren’t really bothered though. What was made apparent, was that you weren’t even asked by the waiter.
Freya turned to you, a sympathetic look on her face. “Are you ok?” She asked, as she placed a hand on your shoulder and gave it a slight squeeze.
“Yeah, everything’s fine.” You mumbled unconvincingly, certain that Freya could pick up on how you were feeling. She had been sitting next to you the entire time after all.
“Let’s go to the ladies yeah? I’ll just text Josh to let him know what’s going on.” She said, as she retrieved her phone from her bag. She quickly sent the text before she grabbed your hand and directed you to the bathroom.
Freya held the door open for you, as you both walked inside, she went over to the sinks and climbed up on top of them. Crossing her arms. Inspecting you slightly.
“So, spill… what’s wrong with ya?” She questioned, with a small reassuring smile.
You took a deep breath in and out, as you tried to steady yourself. As much as you loved Freya, talking about your feelings to anyone was a challenge that you faced daily. It was hard enough being open with Harry about your feelings, and he was the person that you trusted most. Never mind one of your closest friends.
“I hate the way I look.” You confessed, as you subconsciously started to tug at the dress you were wearing. It all of a sudden felt too tight, too claustrophobic, as if the material had shrunk from the time it took you to walk from your table into the bathroom.
“You and Talia, you are both gorgeous and slim. I’m not that way at all. You can wear whatever you want and look good. If I so much as looked at a belly top, people would be disgusted.”
Freya remained silent, letting you ramble on about how much you hated your body and what you looked like. How out of place you felt and what you wish you could change about yourself. When you were finally finished, she jumped down off of the counter and engulfed you in a hug.
“Don’t you ever, ever feel like you aren’t good enough. You are the funniest person I have ever met. You make me belly laugh every single day. You spread so much positivity, and you make sure that everyone around you feels loved. I am slim, but do you know what… I’d kill for a rack like yours.” She whispered, as she comforted you.
“As for that asshole waiter who has been making you feel like shit all night, don’t think that no-one else has noticed it, because they have. They’re all too polite to embarrass him in public, but trust me, he’ll get his comeuppance. Now, wipe those tears and let’s go show him what a fucking bad ass bitch you are.” She laughed, as she grabbed your hand once again, as she led you back out to the table.
The bill was laid out on the table, the seven cards were placed on top of it as you rejoined the group.
“Here she is.” Harry beamed, as he reached out for you. You went and gave him a hug, before taking your seat again.
As the waiter collected the bill, Harry called him over. “I’d like to give you a cash tip, can you follow me outside so I can draw the cash out?” He asked. The waiter nodded, a gleam in his eye. Harry gave you a gesture, letting you know to follow him.
Once you were outside, how cold it was finally hit you. It made you recoil into yourself.
“Yeah, the tip I wanted to give you was to never, and I mean never try to ridicule my girlfriend about anything.” Harry said, swiftly connecting his right fist to the waiters cheek.
“Run.” He shouted, as he grabbed your hand, your feet pounding on the floor until you reached the car. You were both panting, leaning on each other for support.
“You do know you’re still a ten out of ten to me. No matter what.” Harry smiled, as he placed a kiss to the top of your head. “Now let’s go and get a McDonalds, because I know you’re still hungry and it’s your favourite.”

You were exhausted. The excitement of the past few days combined with the lingering hangover from the night before and the heat of the sun that had been beating down on the boat all day, you were fighting to keep your eyes open.
You were a few days into your 2 week holiday with the Sidemen and a few of their friends and you were still recovering from the jetlag that hit you like a truck when you landed on the tarmac. The first few days of a holiday always hit you hard, though; fully switching off for the first time in God knows how long and your body didn’t know how to cope in the slightest.
“You okay?”, Harry asked from beside you.
“Tired”, you mumbled.
“Go to sleep then”, Harry suggested, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“I’ll be fine”, you promised him.
The conversations that were going on around were putting up a good fight at keeping you awake, your attention constantly being drawn in different directions as different topics bounced around the boat. But Harry was warm against your side and the heat from the sun was encouraging you to drift off, the soft rocking of the boat and rippling of the waves below you providing a gentle lullaby.
“You’re falling asleep”, Harry murmured as you jerked yourself awake.
“No, I’m not”, you lied, eyes drooping.
Not even two minutes later, you had nodded off with your head propped safely on Harry’s shoulder. He scooted down a little so he was at the perfect height for your head to rest as comfortably as possible, avoiding getting a crick in your neck.
“Alright there, Bog”, Ethan teased from the bench opposite Harry, beer dangling in his hand as his open shirt floated in the wind.
“She’s sleeping”, Harry said simply, stealing a quick glance at your snoozing frame.
“Aren’t you cute!”, JJ gushed, voice dripping with artificial sweetness and sarcasm. Harry simply rolled his eyes at the two and pulled out his phone, not wanting to partake in any loud conversations that would risk waking you up.
“You could just wake her up and send her inside to one of those sofas”, Josh suggested.
“No, she’s sleeping”, Harry said firmly, tone not suggesting any argument. “She’s tired. I’ll just let her sleep”, he said, shrugging the shoulder that you weren’t dozing on.
“Careful, Harry, if she wakes up and you’re looking at her like that, she’ll have questions”, Simon smirked, earning him a playful flick in the thigh from Talia.
“Like what?”, Harry asked dumbly, looking around for answers.
“Like she hangs the sun and the stars, Bog”, Tobi smiled softly.
“I don’t look at her like that”, Harry scoffed, immediately schooling his face because Oh, God what if he looked at you like that.
“You do”, JJ said simply. “Even I can see it”, he added, earning him a loud laugh that rumbled through the deck of the yacht.
“Okay, so maybe I like her a little”, Harry grumbled quietly, ducking his head to try and hide the blush that was creeping up his bare chest and towards his cheeks.
“A little”, Vik mused. “Sure”, he scoffed, a wicked bright smile stretched across his already sun-tanned face.
“Okay, okay, fine”, Harry huffed. “I love her, alright? Like, a lot”, he admitted.
“Finally”, Cal sighed from the other side of the boat, directing everyone’s attention to him. “What? It’s been obvious for like, the last year”, he said nonchalantly.
“No it hasn’t!”, Harry exclaimed defensively. Everyone on the boat shut him down with a look almost instantly. “Okay, so maybe it has. I still don’t know what to do about it”.
“Just tell her”, Talia shrugged. “She wouldn’t just fall asleep on anyone”, she said with a knowing glance down to your sleeping face.
Harry’s eyes shifted down to your still sleeping frame, head nestled safely on his shoulder and your breaths dancing softly over his bare skin. He reached up to move a stray piece of hair out of your face, delicately tucking it behind your ear the best he could without waking you up.
As Harry went to lean his head on yours, you shifted slightly. Your eyes were still shut, body still completely still. Your voice was an almost silent whisper, meant only for Harry’s ears.
“I love you, too”.
