July 1983 to October 1986. In 1983, DC lured Doug Moench away from Marvel and books like MASTER OF KUNG FU and MOON KNIGHT to take over BATMAN and DETECTIVE COMICS under the editorship of Len Wein. Their run, which lasted 40 months, was the final phase of the Bronze Age Batman continuity; although it continued for some months after the end of CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS, everything up to DETECTIVE COMICS #566 and BATMAN #400 is functionally part of pre-Crisis continuity, in particular most anything to do with Jason Todd becoming the second Robin. (Jason debuted during the end of Gerry Conway's run in early 1983, but it was Moench and Wein who oversaw Jason's actually becoming Robin.)

From 1981 to 1986, there was a tight continuity between BATMAN and DETECTIVE COMICS: a story begun in one book would continue in the other two weeks later. This was something new for Batman; there had been occasional multi-issue storylines for years, and Steve Englehart and Len Wein had introduced a certain amount of Marvel-style continuity in the late '70s, but having around 40 story pages per month allowed more room for character-focused stories, supporting characters, and subplots. When Doug Moench arrived, a central focus was on leading up to Jason Todd becoming Robin, but there were also numerous other major and minor subplots, from Alfred's attempts to connect with his adult daughter, Julia Remarque (introduced by Conway in 1981), to Gotham's messy city politics and power struggles in the underworld.

In MASTER OF KUNG FU, Moench's signature storytelling preoccupation had been "kinky weirdos hurting each other's feelings," and his initial run on the Bat-books also featured a series of messy, sometimes bloody romantic triangles, the most important of which involved Batman; the now-reformed Catwoman; Nocturna (Natalia Knight), a pretentious Goth burglar who attempted to adopt Jason Todd; and Nocturna's adoptive brother Anton, who became a cat burglar out of deranged obsession with Natalia and later tried to kill her so no one else could have her. It was all very grandiose and inevitably somewhat florid, but then expecting gritty, understated realism from a comic book about a man who fights crime dressed as a bat is itself pretty silly.

The strongest story in this run actually has little to do with that soap opera: "What Price the Prize?" in BATMAN #372, is an intelligent, grounded drama about an up-and-coming young Irish boxer maneuvering for a bout with a Black champion obviously inspired by Muhammad Ali, featuring some of Don Newton's finest Batman art; the conclusion in DETECTIVE #539 isn't quite as sharp, but is still one of Moench's best. Other highlights include a clash with Catman (BATMAN #371/DETECTIVE #538) in which Thomas Blake's determined belief in the magical power of his costume nearly gets both him and Batman killed over and over; a wistful story about the private life and hidden depths of boorish Harvey Bullock (DETECTIVE #549); a delightful one-shot (BATMAN #383) in which Batman repeatedly tries and fails to get some sleep; the debut of Black Mask (BATMAN #385–386 and DETECTIVE #553); a comedic tale of Batman and Catwoman on an actual date, in costume (BATMAN #392); and a distinctly '80s-Bondian espionage adventure reuniting Moench and artist Paul Gulacy (BATMAN #393–394).

Artistically, the run got off to a good start with Don Newton on BATMAN (inked by Alfredo Alcala) and Gene Colan on DETECTIVE (generally inked by Bob Smith). Newton's departure in 1984 hurt, leading to a period of artistic musical chairs and some really bad early Pat Broderick art, followed by Tom Mandrake taking over BATMAN. Mandrake gets a bad rap in some quarters, mostly because his style is looser (and about two steps further in the direction of Gene Colan) than many comics fans care to tolerate, but his work here is mostly fine, and certainly an improvement over Broderick's. The Annual has some very nice early Denys Cowan pencils, inked by Alcala, and BATMAN #400 is an all-star extravaganza art-wise.

Maddeningly, DC has never properly reprinted a lot of this material, which I think is badly overdue. If it's not as epochal as some more familiar periods both before and after, the median level of quality is pretty decent (and certainly no worse than the 1987–1991 period, which has now been reprinted in its entirety); its emphasis on characterization wouldn't be matched again in the Batman titles for many years. Denny O'Neil supposedly hated much of what Moench had done (Moench has said O'Neil especially loathed Nocturna, whom he flatly refused to revive in any form), but Denny is dead now, and in any case, his Batman stories include their share of stinkers as well as gems. I don't know that DC has any kind of real reprint strategy anymore, but I hope they won't wait until Doug Moench is dead to properly remaster and collect these issues. Doing them all (BATMAN #360–400 and Annual #10, DETECTIVE #527–567) in something akin to Marvel's Epic Collection format would probably take four volumes — there's around 1,800 pages of material, more if you include Moench's Superman/Batman stories from WORLD'S FINEST — but why not?

What's a good starting point for getting into metal?

Okay... I'd say it really depends on where you're coming from. If I had to pick an entry point that will probably be a good fit for MOST people no matter how mainstream or niche their music taste is I'd say to grab any album that Iron Maiden or Judas Priest made in the 80's and giving it a full listen. Probably at least a few of the riffs are gonna stick with you.

For Iron Maiden I'd recommend any album from The Number of the Beast to Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (My personal favorite is Somewhere in Time). For Judas Priest I'd recommend any album from Killing Machine to Painkiller (My personal favorite is Screaming for Vengeance).

I think they're a great entry point because they're VERY catchy and accessible without feeling dumbed down. They're not heavy enough to come off as unpalatable to the average music listener while still being decently crunchy, and they manage to be bombastic and theatrical without feeling like they're trying TOO hard. Iron Maiden tends to be a bit more ambitious and musically complex while Judas Priest is a bit more dumb fun, but both are pretty approachable starting choices.

Of course, thet's trying to cast the widest net possible assuming you like relatively mainstream music, but if you're already into other abrasive/niche genres there's probably someone who's tried to combine it with metal that you can use as an entry point. E.g. if you're into punk you could look into crossover thrash bands (which combine elements of hardcore punk with thrash metal) such as D.R.I. or Suicidal Tendencies, or sludge metal bands (which combine hardcore punk with doom metal) like Melvins or Eyehategod; if you're into goth music you could check out Kataonia's Brave Murder Day, if you like industrial music or experimental electronic music you could try Ulver's Themes From William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell or Perdition City (and then maybe work your way back to their previous albums when they still made black metal).

(That being said, none of these were my starting point. If I recall correctly the first metal bands that I remember actively liking were:

V wedding headcanons

V had a tricky time getting the money for everything. He's not always up to working for Morrison demon hunting and having Griffon shake down one too many people could bring suspicion. He eventually opts to help Morrison with files and background work. Morrison actually slips a little bit extra into his pay to help him along, but never mentions it

Nero has earned the spot of best man, no questions asked. Griffon takes offense to that but can't do anything about it other than complain and complain he does

Two words, goth wedding. Everything about his life is unconventional and you knew what you were signing up for when you started dating

He wants a chocolate raspberry wedding cake. He'll compromise on the raspberry but not the chocolate part

He takes a fair amount of time to write his vows and yes they include references to Blake, no shock there. It's as predictable as it is charming. Unlike Vergil, he has no issue saying his vows publicly

In the same vein as Vergil though, he wants to get out of the city for the honeymoon. He rents a cute townhouse several towns over for a week, so you two can have time away as newlyweds

Here is my rewrite of Mega Man Fully Charged kids cast !

Aki (Aki Daisan Light) :

- Aki's motif to become a hero would be change, from "doing it because it's right" to "I do it for my family, so they would live safely in this city I call home."

- a hopeless romantic. Keep getting rejected by previous crushes, the last one is Ashley.

- unintentionally troublemaker, like pulling jokes and gives sarcasm, never intended to be mean.

- He is an outcast, only true friend is Bert, Ashley is close, the others are just okay with Aki but never get close to him. Only a few get near for his family name or short interest in him.

- cares deeply about family and friends, like to welcome new friends and family (loves new found family trope/member)

- likes to do sports or dancing when bored. Likes video games and comic books. Likes collecting comic books and special editions posters. Have a collections of retro and indie games, also famous games.

- likes to learn string types instruments, guitar, cello, violin, harp. Aki can only practice guitar since he is busy and he can't learn all of it, so usually learns it from viewtube (youtube). Hates to play brass and woodwind instruments because it's take too much effort and breathing. The best at percussion instruments (instruments like drums).

- when he practice his singing voice, he can sing very well, but isn't confident onstage.

- never let him near the kitchen for cooking, Aki is horrible at cooking. He is good at cleaning when he wants to.

- practice his combat skills at free time because being a hero is important, also start to practice more since Lightfall incident.

- have trust issues after so many event went down in canon, not woodman level issue but still an issue.

- practice martial arts a year before the show event, practice many kinds of judo, taekwondo, and jujitsu. He learn all of it fast.

- collects various kinds of jackets, vest, and shirts with T-shirts, almost any kind of outerwear. Suna often borrow it or his friends would. Kay-kay steal his jacket sometimes.

- really friendly and outgoing kid and can talk to other kids since he understands some of the topics they talk about, usually trends. Aki is more connected with the nerds or geeks about his favorite comic books or games, he keep it a secret so he doesn't get more teasing, Bert is the only one Aki can talk freely with.

- Aki had another best friend than Bert. He was Jake Blake, rival and best friend. They used to spare match a lot and still hang out, even when Bert doesn't join in the match, Aki and Jake always have Bert around, they were best friend. Until an incident happen to Jake because of Aki recklessness and it make Aki felt Guilty. Ever since then, Jake family moved to another city and left Bert and Aki, Aki was ridden with guilt, Aki never practice martial art ever since until the show begin.

Suna (Suna Daichi Light):

- absolute tech witch, girl can create various tech but it cost too much time, she could spent months on a project to finish, her longest project '0' took 1 and a half year to complete.

- can rock a goth and Lolita style clothes but for special occasions only, she usually wear sporty types for work and daily life.

- she had a crush that died of dementia, her name was Iris. A girl with soft light brown hair, soft emerald eyes, and fair skin but frail body, Suna absolutely understand how hard love can be for Aki after Iris death, Suna manage to date Iris for awhile before Iris death so the memory turn bittersweet, Suna keep all of Iris's gifts and photos in a lock box with a locket key she made specifically for that heart box for her Iris.

- she wanted to be a ballerina but now she wants to be a fighter for her family, she start to practice her offense fight skills with Aki as her sparing partner but still practice ballet, turns out she can combine both movements to her advantage and make more damage with that.

- A skilled ballerina and have won a trophy or two on a ballet competition. Everyone think Suna is beautiful in her ballerina outfit on stage.

Daini (Tsuki Daini Light):

- forced to endure high training and many pain for years, he became numb to his wounds and scars emotionally and physically.

- he was a good bright boy but being raised to be a weapon can tool a toll on anyone. Have anger issues because of neglect and abuse.

- wanted freedom for a long time but realized he will wasted years of pain for nothing if he didn't become the "robot liberator" Night promised him to be.

- wants pets but you know his conditions.

- he may seems stronger than Aki but it was because he always gave his best and pushed his limits too often to the point he is easy to be exhausted.

- can't have a break at all.

- even after the truth is revealed, he just can't heal his issues.

- things will go up for him, eventually.

- he rename himself as Daini without looking up the meaning, boy would he be mad at himself.

- gets adopted by hypnowoman and gets free healing therapy for a while.

- managed to find a part of Silicon City called Rusty Silica. That town is the first version of Silicon City and a hidden part from history.

- he meet his new Mini, Tiny. Tiny is a mechanical in the town and start helping Daini for all the years worth of damaged he gained from hard-core training.

- after skullman fight, he returned to Rusty Silica and save Tiny before his home collapse on him, so from then on Tiny live inside Daini system cause boy system is jumbled up he is lucky to still function normally.

- start to pet many animals, small robots include scavengers (from comic) those little pets start following Daini’s commands and treat him like he is their beloved owner.

- gets a robot cat name Tango and scavenger name Scavy.

Bert (Robert Wily):

- Light kids first friend and most dependable and trustworthy person in school, unlike the rest of his family.

- Bert have always been a kind soul to everyone, cheerful young lad despite all the hatred thrown at him. Bert always believe to be kind and brave like heroes. Bert watch too much hero movies which give him his heroic moralities and his mother parenting style that help Bert to become the sweet boy he is in canon.

- Bert father is always absent in his life, even when that man was at home, he never care for the family other than give them financial support. Bert always hoped his father would be proud of him but he lost hope.

(Bert father had a chip in him that was planted by Dr. Wily, the chip cause Mr. Wily his lack of emotion, so Mr. Wily cut of Dr. Wily from his life for the safety of his wife and son. He was enraged to find out Dr. Wily manipulated Bert to like him and there's nothing that Mr. Wily can do about it.)

- Dr. Wily is the only father figure he have to replace his absent father. Little does Bert know, Dr Wily always have and ulterior motive for his needs.

- Bert became Aki's best friend every since day-1. Bert parents were uneasy by this at first but Bert's mother welcome Aki with an open arms after knowing the robot boy, Bert's father just ignored Aki present, the man was indifference by his son's friendship with a robot.

Ashley Adderley:

- lives with her parents and her uncle who is a robot master name plantman, she lives in an upper class apartment and have her own project room. Her dad owns the apartment.

- her dad is rich cause he is a manager of sky corporations and is a smart businessmen, unfortunately he doesn't come home often and lives next city.

- her mother owns a Cafe as manager and owner, she have a co-manager, even when she do this for hobby of cooking and decor. She make recipes so her chefs can cook it for the customers, the Cafe only opens 5 days a week on weekdays, but would close if she have a family plans and husband is around.

- her uncle works at a flower shop and sells pretty bouquets with so many colorful and unique flowers, even sells rare ones. He published two books, the first is about flowers and their histories also their maintenance, the second is about how to make a garden flower and how to make that hobby profitable.

- since all adults have their own business to do, sometimes when their are distracted they leave Ashley alone at home which gives her more privacy and time to find some parts for her project.

- she could leave the house locked before leaving and then when to shops, robot markets, if she is brave enough she would go to the badlands.

- she never stays out for long and always comes home before noon around 4.

- hang around libraries and her mom's Book Cafe more often.

- read heavy literature, science history books, robotics books, but also likes some teen novels.

- her high intelligence and curiosity makes her bored of the knowledge she gains from all media and school history that make her decide she wants to dig deeper into a more uncensored or true versions of history that peak her interest more that what all media showed to public.

- she start to learn all the ways to hack into illegal systems and info that she would bring to her grave if the knowledge is forbidden.

- Not only knowledge she would seek on illegal sites, she would gather info of some robotics part that she can study to make or buy at a local robot market, most parts are used robot master's parts.

- in her own project room, she is in a deep process of creation her own first robot master but keep failing because none ever active normally like a functional robot, it keeps blowing up. Instead, she makes a robotic suit.

- truthfully, she was a lonely girl. At elementary, Noone bats an eye at her, she doesn't have many friends, and had a bully that belittled her. So she showed to everyone of what she can do, it worked, Ashley then became popular at her elementary. Until she got humiliated at a science fair in front of everyone at school when she was at 5th grade. She changed school when she became a preteen and have her middle school at Silicon Central.

- at her first day, she stumble on Suna and Aki because they were searching for their class. To Ashley utter suprise, she sits with Suna as her new classmates. They talk with each and get along fine, so for the whole year they became and Suna invites her to her house, introduced Aki her robot brother and told her his is in her class with his best friend Bert Wily.

- so from then on, they become friends the rest follows the canon show.

- Ashley parents aren't always around so she can handle chores herself when none of her guardian are home.

- love it when she is home alone. She isn't home alone often so its an opportunity for her to be as wild as she likes.

- she test her inventions outside on the rooftop or at her project room if she wants to be safe.

- her apartment rooftop is own by her uncle Plantman and use as a green house for his flowers. Ashley often goes there if she wants to be alone or she wants to see the view, like seriously the sunset and dawn is gorgeous at there.

- wears and use a lot of safety protocols when she do a test run.

- only Suna knew about this and is a great secret keeper. Also she is Ashley trusted partner for her projects and vice versa.

- Ashley have a dream to be up on space, but she changed her dream to be the greatest scientist instead because she lower her expectations before her dream fall over.

(- Mr. James Adderley is actually a secret police working for the government agency to protect both human and robot lives and prevent war or tragedy from happening.

- his work as a manager is a cover up.

- he keep track of all the city incident and have his eyes on Wily and Light. Unfortunately, if he wants to arrest them, he needs prove of their crime.

Chaotique/Felicia Fou/Felicia Quickster/Felicia Tops:

- Chaotique have another name which is Felicia. Like Aki and megaman, Felicia is Chaotique "human" alter ego

- this girl had a family of 5 older brothers, 2 older sisters, and a father who love his kids a lot.

- all of her older siblings are overprotective of each other, their dad is worse especially after being lock up by the government for "breaking the contract".

- was created for war but her dad can't help but making her a bit more humane than her siblings.

- had brown hair at first but she dyed it later.

- worked with Blue Bomb around the Hard Age, unfortunately her memories got wiped after her family attempted escape from war.

- get deployed to Lyon in France and layer adopted by Plum (robot News reporter) and Quickman (Japan-France speedster military bot). Her new name is Felicia because she looked so happy and energetic, also she forgot her real name.

- She lived in France for 5 years until a virus outbreak that force her to be separated from her mother and watch her father died by the robot zombies. (She despise zombies ever since and hates any zombie related movies.)

- she evacuate to Canada and lived in an orphanage, they thought she was a cyborg and she look more human than robot so she have to lie about being a human even though she start to despise human but it was still small hatred.

- enrolled to a "elite" school academy for her athletic skills, she was ecstatic but it turn to regret.

- no one at school respect her due to her having robotic parts, except for some group of social outcast artistic girls who bring Felicia to their group. The group consists of one robot girl and 2 human girls but one of them have realistic prospetics arms cause the girl was born without arms.

- the girls have a lot of fun with each other, they do pranks, art, karaoke, sleepovers, and heart to heart talk where they can pour their emotional baggage and they will support each other through thick and thin.

- a tragedy happened at a school talent show, an envious girl bullies Felicia and her friend, the bully have sabotage the stage and although Felicia team manage to won after getting sabotage the bully didn't stop her harassment toward both girls until an electronic panel get caught on fire. The fire spread to the whole room and Felicia almost lost her friend if she didn't save her with her superspeed. Unfairly, the bully paint the accident as Felicia fault so she got expelled from school and the accident gets covered for the school "good" name.

- Felicia gets adopted again by Topman (robot dancer, traveller and ex-soldier). Felicia happily accepted if that means to get out of her bad situation.

- while traveling with her new uncle, Felicia discovered her powers more and learned how to control it, with the help of Topman she became the speedster she is now.

- she then remembered her old name which is Chaotique so she settled with 2 names.

- wherever city she and her uncle stop by, she start to do pranks to lighten up her mood.

- she and her uncle arrived in Silicon City 3 months before the show event begin.

- she is an absolute dancer because of her uncle teaching so her uncle open a dance studio for people of all age to learn dancing from beginner to expert level. Chaotique is in expert level but help her uncle as his assistant.

- she attended Silicon Central but she is often absent for 5 months for the 1st semester. She is supposed to be the same class as Aki but she was smart enough to cheat (still studies) on an intelligent test to determine her grade level and land on a high score without being caught. She end up in Suna class.

- really great with navigation and mapping her surroundings, she is friendly to other robots and some kids regardless of species, people around her living area notice her as a good girl, ironic isn't it.

- her uncle can only afford a standard apartment but it was good enough for Chaotique, she loves to decorate her room to her liking and have many DIY stuff, thanks to her old friends.

- she doesn't buy clothes unless it's necessary, she often thrift clothes for girls styles, she own some clothing and her uncle would buy pretty dresses but she just keep it so it's still brand new.

- steals many things for fun or prank materials.

- DIY most of her pranks or collections (charms, accessories, or normal gadgets)

- best skater girl and wins a rolling derpy competition.

- her style is grudge, punk, and techno, mostly streetstyle.

- dyed her hair green when she was traveling with her uncle.

- she is tall and have a perfect figure with an outgoing attitude and mostly nice to everyone at school despite often being absent, she's one of the popular kids at Silicon Central.

- Bert likes Felicia as a friend than Chaotique which is hilarious to her.

- is actually a 12 year old who skip grades due to his intelligent. But keep it a secret to his classmates and told them he is as old as them

- insecure about his age and his interest and he is afraid people would underestimate him because he is young.

- actually more childish when he isnt at school.

- his voice is squeaker than the Canon show, adorable even. (A squeaky toy mix with ducklings sweetness)

- his casual wear is more colorful than what he wears to school.

- no nose drool.

- still wears glasses but hair gets messier if he gets more relax or fun.

- actually admire Ashley like big sister he wants to impress, he wants to be smarter than her tho.

- likes Bert to his friendliness and never judge him based on age, Peter tell him the truth by accident but Bert never underestimate him a little bit even after finding out.

- his rivalry with Aki start out cause Aki treat him like a kid (Aki actually just being polite due to their height differences) so Peter gets more annoying on purpose just to make Aki stop treating him like a kid, it only make Aki gets annoyed and them treat him like an annoying classmate (a nuisance). Peter think this is better cause atleast Aki sees him at his level.

Before returning to the city, the newlyweds took a little stroll around the graveyard behind the "Meetinghouse". Olive didn't want them cleaning up after their own wedding and Ajay just needed to recharge after being surrounded by people for hours.

Blake: I don't know why, but I feel weirdly homely here. I'm not as uncomfortable being in Strangetown again as I thought I would be.

Ajay: Do you regret moving away to the city?

Blake: Nah, I like the traffic noises outside my window and knowing we're surrounded by living people. Here it's just dead shrubs and sand in my shoes.

Eventually, the two got back home rather late and decided to just head straight to their bed and chill a bit before sleep. They were trying to figure out if their life is going to change much now that they're married, but didn't have any big plans yet.

Blake: Just so you know, I still want us to have a kid at some point. So be ready for me to bother you about it.

Ajay: Are you sure we would be good raising a child with our lifestyle?

Blake: Believe me, I know much worse parents out there. I think we could handle it.

BACKSTORY N' THE LIKE:

Prone to running from her problems in life, that much is no longer the case in death. No matter how much her 'newfound' anxieties urge her to do otherwise.

Hailing from a small town in the middle-of-nowhere, California to a moderately dysfunctional family consisting of a hardass Vietnam veteran and a meek and mild-mannered hostess, Pauline Palmer managed to make a small name for herself in her town for any number of things. From being a frequent teenage runaway to making acquaintances of people most would consider to be of "ill repute", it was no secret that the Palmer kid was a tragedy in the making. Not that any of them made any serious efforts to nip the problems in the bud, mind you. Idle gossip was enough to sate their curiosity.

Part-time O'Tolley's cashier, Palmer was Embraced on what, effectively, was a whim one night after an already arduously long shift. She wasn't shovel-headed, thank Caine for that, but she wasn't exactly tended to immediately either in her new unlife. Still in uniform and hunger throbbing incessantly in the back of her gums, she was lucky enough to have been caught feeding by a wandering Anarch pack as opposed to any number of infinitely worse options. They took pity on the Fledgling, reluctantly taking her under their wing - offering to show her the ropes so long as she pulled her own weight.

It was a nice arrangement while it lasted, her collecting a laundry list of contacts as they travelled from domain to domain - wracking up and paying off any number of debts alongside her motely crew. Chief among them was the friendship she'd made with the less reserved Voerman sister. It was nice. As nice as unlife can be in the World of Darkness, mind, but it was still comparably decent. She parted ways with her pack about 6 or so years prior to the start of the campaign, but she will still occasionally (in Kindred years) send feelers out to see how they're holding up.

Timeline of Events

1973 -> 1995: Pauline is Alive.

1995 -> 2015: Pauline is traveling with her Anarch pack.

2015 -> Late 2020: Pauline hunkers down in Santa Monica, making nice with Jeanette and putting together the resources for her Side Hustler Merit.

Jeanette, unbeknownst to Pauline, kicks off construction on a new Asylum.

2021: Late October: Pauline arrives in San Jose, followed shortly by the Asylum's Grand Opening!!! November: Pauline and Blake meet for the first time! She hires him to help her deal with someone feeding on her territory. ???: The duo encounter Leo for the first time!!! The beginning of December: Session 1 of Blood and Silicon begins properly!

MISC.:

Going off of vibes alone as it's been forever since I actually played Bloodlines, I imagine that the relationship she had with Jeanette was akin to that of a Cool™ Aunt that lets you get away with more than your sires' would - also giving her the rundown on Malkavian specific tidbits! [Pauline], of course, also ran several favors for her in the time they knew one another; showing off the skills and what have you that would've led to her trusting her enough to let her have a go at running the Asylum in San Jose.

Pauline's fangs are slightly crooked. Along with a few of her other teeth - they're slightly crooked enough to notice if you stare - but not enough to have caused any discomfort in life

Moss:11years old(4th grade)xe/xem. looks chill but really isn't. It was xer idea to jump out the window in the "treehouse incident". lives with two dads and a dog. "Gender? What is this, Soviet Russia?!". Xer are friends with September and Lilith.

Roy:5years old(not in school)he/him. ya'know chase from that one big city greens episode, well he's that just less feral. hair is a lot bigger and fluffier than this. He needed to use all of his family's shampoo, so his dad just got him his own. He's a cinnamon roll. Lives with his dad and [insert gender neutral for aunt/uncle]. His family and two other kids on this list families are close.

Blake:11(5th grade)they/them. Actually died their hair blonde and the main design of them has their roots show and the only reason they're not shown here is cuz picrew didn't have the option to do that. Darcy: 10years old(5th grade) She/her. Is in the same friend group as her sibling. Tries to be mall goth, emo or regular goth but barely looks the part. Wednesday Addams was her trans awakening. Would try to cook something with 4,000 degrees for one minute , which is why she isn't allowed to cook. I know, I’ve been slacking on these. Technically, I’ve had these three down for a couple of months now, but thanks to focusing on WfS, I neglected to finish them up and post them. >.< I’m doing three here so I can be caught up and not have one random one constantly floating around.

So this group rounds out the ‘main’ characters of the story, plus I suppose the main villain? Well, whose supposed to be the main villain, anyway.

So Connor is Connor, nothing too special about him. I know when I originally created him, he really didn’t have much of a role beyond being Gabe’s other BFF. But then I realized the group would be a trio, since of course Nova would befriend him as well. I just feel bad because he’s not as featured in the first book, but I suppose I have the other two books to fix that. ;P But I like Connor, especially with his pseudo goth/punk look he has going on.

I was originally going to have him wearing a black shirt with a colored hoodie, but I like this much better. The boy tends to prefer blacks and greys, after all, because it matches his powers. At least, that’s what he does now.

I did change his uniform a bit, making it a shirt instead of a hoodie so he could sort of match Matrix? Its not exact, but I could see the two of them collaboration to make matching uniforms when they were first starting out. I like it a lot better, in any case.

Blake is another one of those characters that I thought was going to have a bigger role in the story, but ended up not as much thanks to the fact that he’s the leader of a different team. Still, I like him. His power is sort of weird for me to write into a fight, but his main purpose is the a strategist, not a fighter, if that makes sense. He’s one of only two intelligent Bullheaded in the city, the other one being his father.

I had a bit of fun coming up with his civilian wear, figuring he’d be wearing loose collared shirts, or at least ones that could stretch. I like his hoodie. It’s the first time I used a diagonal stripe like that, and I’ve been using the idea one, like, everything else ever since, lol.

His normal uniform doesn’t change, since I had tweeked it at one point previously and still love it.

Issy over there...well, I had expected to feature her real self at some point in Cataclysm, but never got around to it, which is a shame. I like what I came up for her outfit. It’s cute! Hopefully, I’ll find a place for Nova to interact with Isabella, not Frostbite, because of...well, spoiler reasons. ^^;

I was playing around with the idea of giving her lavender hair, which I initially liked. But going back to it to color the lines, I realized I liked the darker hair better. And I don’t really have plans for powers to change people’s hair colors like that. I mean, it would make sense and all, but...eh.

I did tweek her uniform a bit, giving her more detail on her jacket and taking away the skirt thing, and...I love it. She looks so badass!

So, these are pretty much all I have done at the moment, and hopefully I’ll do a couple more soon. Sure, I have a couple of months still, but...I still have a lot of secondary/villain characters to get through. >.<

A late night call to R means a late and dazed start to the weekend and I thank god I planned another day off, with the sole task of seeing art with M who prizes sleep as much as I do. It's hot to be on the phone for hours but you always pay the price - either in your mangled sleep schedule or in total gutting heartbreak down the line. It is raining when I wake up at 11am and swallow three shots of espresso. The downfall stops just in time for me to walk the four miles to Camden Art Centre. I send R a video of Pentonville Prison under a gloomy sky, and pan across to the greasy spoon over the road, called “The Breakout”. The O in Breakout is a pair of hands pulling prison bars apart, so creative, so insensitive, so funny. I march through Camden market and watch teenage goths and tourists forage for cartilage piercings

It is rare for me to be on Finchley Road and the incessant traffic and weird storefronts bring back memories - of the group therapy that never went back to in-person after the pandemic and, a few years before, a hot musician with a small hoop in his ear, and who still lived with his mother, fixing me a drink in the kitchen and coercing me into sex while James Blake played on a Bose Sound-link. I repressed the sex for years afterwards like a champion. Even now, it's hazy. I remember the feeling of not being sure and then something harsh and bad and wrong. And jeans. I remember either my jeans or his jeans folding like an accordion. I hated the feel of his skin, everything beautiful about his chiselled face becoming a source of ugly friction. I saw a video of him during lockdown appearing in the background of a female singer's Instagram story. The singer had just joined the same music label as me and I guess I was sussing out the competition for M's praise. She later left the label like I did, always used found manga footage for her music videos, had the Lolita-esque selfies to match. None of this is important except to say that Finchley Road isn't a neutral zone, and that I'm frankly running out of neutral zones in this city

I feel myself almost keeling over in front of Forrest Bess paintings and it means I exercised enough to satisfy my demanding mind. I don't care about these paintings. I can't believe a man can live in a shack and turn out children's artwork and be celebrated a hundred years later and I'm meant to join in the applause. More interesting are the letters and books and diagrams in the show's vitrines. Bess had a 20th century "reply guy" thing going - spamming Jung and Eisenhower and surgeons who he wanted to cut a hole in his perineum. He calls himself a visionary in the press. The only painting I like is one that looks like if Rothko painted the Pride flag with a small eel at the base. It's hard to square the fisherman thing with the painting thing and the dick modification thing, and it’s not compelling enough to try, or perhaps I'm depressed. I run into Z with his new girlfriend afterwards who say he wanted to pee out of the hole in his perineum. But how does this relate to Goethe? Because Faust was sent to hell to redo the plumbing? How did Z find such a cool girlfriend?

Nesta glared out the window, keeping her unspoken vow to not look over at the atrocity that was her boyfriend.

Well, that wasn’t not fair.

The boyfriend himself was actually pretty nice to look at.

Broad shoulders, a tall frame filled with meaty muscle, curly brown hair, and golden eyes made him interesting enough, she supposed.

But it was what the bastard had chosen to wear that had driven her insane all day.

The monstrosity was strapped around his waist currently, and she could’ve sworn it was laughing up at her.

Consider this the first and last time she would ever travel with him.

Because since it wasn’t obvious enough they were American, Cassian had chosen to wear a fanny pack. Over an I <3 LONDON shirt. Which he’d paired with khakis.

He looked like the cover of a tourist’s guide made for forty year-old, single men who lived with their mothers.

And she knew it was at least partly her fault he was dressed so stupidly, but she refused to apologize.

Last night, they’d been heading out to dinner, when she commented that almost always, he wore all black. Honestly, it wasn’t even a complaint, considering she was guilty of the same thing.

Why bother trying to put together prints and fabrics and colors, when black looked so nice on her?

Anyway. She hadn’t been complaining. Teasing, but not complaining.

But noooo. He’d immediately gotten that annoying, competitive look in his eyes that both made her smile and want to strangle him.

“What would you like me to wear, Nesta?” he’d asked, golden eyes practically glowing.

She’d sighed, probably making things worse. “I’m just saying, we look a little goth when we’re together.”

Cassian had just smiled down at her, then walked out of their room. She hadn’t thought any more of it when he’d slipped back in later that night, but then this morning, when he’d gotten dressed in the bathroom and opened the door with a flourish, she’d almost hit the floor.

He was not built for fanny packs and khakis.

He was built for... well, he was built to be naked all the time, but since that would probably get them sent back to the states, tight black shirts and jeans was a decent second option.

Plus, as if it weren’t bad enough already, he’d been adding to the ensemble all day, building up to the horrendous outfit she was currently avoiding looking at.

His faded combat boots had been replaced with flip flops. His hair was tucked under a very large hat with a Big Ben outline across the front. He’d even stopped to buy a fucking old-fashioned pipe from the William Blake exhibit they’d gone to see.

He was trying to drive her crazy.

But little did he know, she had a few tricks up her sleeve. After three years together, she knew how to drive him crazy, too.

So she’d plotted and schemed all day. And as they rode back to their hotel in the cab, it was finally time for it to come into play.

Trying to be discrete, she nodded at the driver.

Cassian’s eyes shot to her as the man slammed on the brakes. It had costed her twenty Euros, but seeing the look of shock on her boyfriend’s face was so worth it.

Especially as she shouted, “Drive him to the other side of the city and kick him out!”

And jumped from the cab.

It was still moving a little, but she’d been prepared and hit the ground at a run.

Manic laughter came out of her as Cassian turned around in the now-speeding cab, shouting something unintelligible back at her.

He wanted to dress like a tacky tourist and drive her crazy?

Fine.

She’d just have to show him what he was missing out on.

A little over an hour later, the door to their hotel room swung open, hitting the wall angrily.

“That asshole took me halfway to fucking Essex, then had the audacity to charge me for the ride. Next time you have someone kidnap me, at least pay the fee, woman! I swear-”

Whatever he was about to say lodged in his throat as he took a look at what she was wearing.

It was all new, and his eyes took in every piece of the wardrobe with a predatory gleam that sent her toes curling. But she acted unaffected, even as she bent down to fix the strap of her very high, very uncomfortable shoes.

“What’s going on?” he asked, voice rough.

Straightening, she shrugged and fluffed her hair. “I’m going to dinner.”

“You mean we’re going to dinner.”

Finally.

Nesta turned towards her boyfriend, enjoying the way his eyes dipped to the almost indecent amount of cleavage on display.

She traced her eyes over his entire rumpled, touristy outfit. “I’m not going in public with you while I look like this and you look like that.”

His eyes narrowed as he finally caught on to what she’d done. “I’ll change then.”

It was a struggle not to laugh. “Well, you seemed so intent on replacing your wardrobe, I figured I’d help you out and dumped your suitcase.”

That was a lie. It was safely hidden down at the front desk.

“You did what?”

Ignoring the question, she said, “You’re welcome. And since you can neither change nor go like that, I guess I’ll just see you later.”

Making her way to the door, she was abruptly stopped by a hand smacking into the wall closest to her, an arm now blocking her path. “Nesta Archeron, you are not going out looking like a goddamn supermodel while I sit here with my thumbs up my ass.”

“How you fill the alone time is irrelevant to me, Cassian.”

His other hand made its way to the wall, too, caging her in.

“I know you wouldn’t throw my clothes out. Where are they? Tell me, and we’ll go to dinner.”

She shrugged, resolve to keep the secret building by the second.

She was aware they were both a little competitive, but she didn’t care. She was winning this, one way or the other. He’d admit he’d been wrong to dress like an idiot today, then--and only then--she’d give him his clothes back.

“I know what you’re doing,” he told her, the tone of his voice proving that it was working.

He was suddenly so close she couldn’t think about anything else.

Even dressed in head to toe tacky, he somehow managed to suck all the air out of her lungs.

One hand turned his hat backwards so the brim wouldn’t poke her, and he leaned in close enough to run his nose down her neck.

“Tell me, Nesta.”

“No.”

His teeth nipped at her skin, and she shivered. “Do I need to fuck it out of you?”

Gods, yes. Please.

That hadn’t been her plan at all, but her body was more than on board with it.

Except there was a bit of a problem.

“You are not fucking me with a fanny pack on, hate to break it to you.”

Cassian pulled back far enough to wink at her, then his mouth was on hers, dominating her in the way that she’d only ever let him do. He pressed her against the wall, chest tight against hers, as he slipped his tongue in her mouth.

Hands on her waist lifted her, and then she was being thrown halfway across the room onto the neatly-made bed.

Propping herself up on her elbows, she glared over at him.

“I was being serious, Cassian. You’re not getting any while you’re dressed like Uncle Sam.”

He swaggered over to the foot of the bed, the comment not at all impacting his confidence.

“Allow me to remedy the problem then, princess.”

The hat’s the first to go, and it was a relief to see his unruly hair finally free. She heard the slap of his flip flops on the floor and figured he kicked them off, too. Cassian tugged the horrible, bright yellow “I <3 LONDON” shirt over his head, then stared at her, eyes narrowed.

“I’m keeping the fanny pack.”

It was adorable how wrong he was.

Raising an eyebrow, Nesta leaned back and let her thighs fall open, keying him into the fact that she’d somehow forgotten to put on underwear tonight.

His jaw tightened, but he didn’t move to take off the damn pack.

So she ran a manicured nail over her bottom lip, then slipped it in her mouth and sucked on it. She was pretty sure Cassian was about to pass out as she released it with a pop, then brought it between her legs.

“Nesta.”

“Hmm?” she responded, the sound drawn out and breathy as she pushed the finger inside herself.

“I like the fanny pack.” He sounded so sad, it was almost comical. Like a kid on Christmas who’d just been told Santa hadn’t come.

Too bad.

“Then stand there and watch.”

Oh, he did. His eyes were intent on her hands, both the one between her legs and the other that made it’s way to her breast.

She rolled a nipple between her fingers and groaned, and he leaned down to fist the sheets at the end of the bed in his hands. “Fuck.”

Nesta refused to give first. Absolutely refused.

And she knew what it would take for him to give in. So she added another finger, back arching off the bed, and worked herself until she was so close she couldn’t stay still.

His knuckles were white as he gripped the comforter tight enough to threaten the strands, but it wasn’t that that forced him to lose their little battle.

It was the sight of her coming undone before him.

She moaned, and it might’ve been his name that fell from her lips, as release found her. When she heard the strangled, creative curse he let out, she knew she’d won.

Forcing her eyes open, she watched as he finally unhooked the fanny pack and let it drop to the floor.

It was the sexiest thing she’d ever seen.

Cassian quickly kicked off his hideous khakis, then prowled up her body, dropping little love bights on her thighs, her hips, her breasts.

“That was so hot,” he groaned as he settled between her thighs, bracing himself on his elbows.

“That was the idea, idiot.”

He stopped for a moment, pulling back to give her a sour look. “I think I’m going to make you apologize for that.”

Before she could tell him there was a fat chance of that happening, he pushed into her. Nesta gasped, and his mouth was suddenly on hers, absorbing the sound.

After a brief moment to adjust, his hips grew rough against hers, the grip he had on them almost bruising, but she didn’t care.

“Fuck, Cass,” she groaned, arching into his touch as he drew little circles on the bundle of nerves between her legs.

He picked up speed, pounding into her so hard she started shifting up the bed until he wrapped an arm around her shoulders, keeping her in place.

Release started building up in her, and she could tell it would be almost too intense when it crested. But just before she got to find out, he slowed his rhythm, swirling his hips slowly against hers.

An indignant, hateful sound left her mouth, and he pulled back enough to smirk down at her.

“Say it,” he commanded, eyes like molten caramel as they watched her hips try to gain more friction. “Say you’re sorry, and I’ll give you what you want.”

“Fuck you,” she panted, barely resisting the urge to punch him. “You insufferable, arrogant bastard.”

“Not exactly what I want to hear, but close.”

A maddeningly slow circle of his hips had her regretting ever going out with him.

Another had her planning his murder.

Yet another had her cursing the day he was born.

“Say it, Nesta. You know you want to.” He dipped his head to kiss the base of her throat.

Her body was so strung out it was a miracle she didn’t burst into tears, but she somehow managed to hold off for another few minutes.

But then he grabbed her hands and pinned them above her head and all but growled, “Just fucking say it. Say it so I can fuck you like you deserve.”

And she was just desperate enough that she said, “I’m sorry I called you an idiot, you horrible asshole.”

He smiled down at her, and she glared. “Such beautiful words.”

“Cassian, I swear-”

The words became lost in her throat as he finally, finally started moving again, somehow harder and quicker than before.

Release immediately crashed into her, and she moaned as she drew tight around him.

“Good girl,” he murmured, and even though she currently hated him, the words just made the release that much sweeter.

Especially as he didn’t stop. Her body was trembling underneath his, but he kept going, even dipping his head to kiss his way down to her breasts.

His tongue swirled around the peak of one, and she groaned loudly as the wave inside her seemed to crash once more, leaving her scattered and broken in the aftermath.

Cassian finally followed her lead, collapsing on top of her and pressing her into the mattress below as he said her name in a helpless, loving sort of way.

Their breath was uncontrolled and loud, and it took a few minutes before either of them could speak.

Then he asked roughly, “Now, where’d you hide my shit?”

“Front desk,” she panted, pushing her hair off her forehead with a tired hand.

He drew back, looking over her partially-clothed body in a satisfied, male way that made her smile. “I really like that dress, in case it isn’t obvious. Want me to go change so we can eat something?”

Before she could respond, his mouth was at her ear, hot breath raising goosebumps across her skin. “Or do you just want to eat here?”

Suddenly, food was the last thing on her mind.

Her hands found their way to his hair as she drew him back down to her.

“Just get it tomorrow,” she murmured, lips finding his again. “And never wear that fanny pack again.”

(took a while to answer this because hooo boy you have awoken the beast)

alright so imagine you were born to a legendary demon and a human woman and you also have a twin brother whom due to various circumstances you end up fighting to the death, but then after that you choose to take a jump into hell and face the ultimate demon king of evil (who is a bastard) and then you LOSE so he turns you into a knight/demonic slave through torturing you and breaking down your entire sense of self. you follow so far?

so after all that, your twin brother ends up defeating you (again) and in doing so frees you from the enslavement of said bastard demon king man, only now you’re dying and your body is falling apart because of all the trauma and abuse you have gone through...

and in a fit of desperation, you take the magical dimension cutting sword that you have and drive it into yourself to cut off the “weakest” parts of yourself...

and out pops this guy! your goth twink human side!

(long and incoherent ramblings about why V is important and why i love him below)

so V is one half of vergil, the other half being urizen (V is 100% human while urizen is 100% demon) and he’s basically got vergil’s last braincell and whatever remains of his empathy, while urizen is vergil’s demon half run completely amok with nothing to rein it back in

though this doesn’t mean that V is a particularly nice or morally upstanding person. he’s got maybe 30% more morals than vergil (though that practically makes him a model citizen by comparison) and his motivations do start from a selfish place of wanting to remerge with urizen so he can be a complete person again. (he’s also slowly dying after being split off because he doesn’t have enough power to sustain his frail body)

however, seeing the damage his demon side is wreaking on red grave city, V does realize “hey all this death is Bad and im going to help these Silly Humans” which is HUGE character development for vergil who has a track record of Not Giving A Fuck about humans at all

he spends about a month before the main bulk of dmc5 starts helping people who are still alive get out of red grave and killing demons there. such a good boy!

he’s also a little unhinged but like. sexy about it.

oh and probably the most hardcore thing about him? he has three demon familiars that are bound into his skin

^these three are manifestations of vergil’s trauma and nightmares, also cast off of vergil when he split himself. V takes them and uses them to fight, so yeah. he literally reclaims and uses his own ptsd as a weapon, while also reading william blake poetry to power up. did i mention he reads poetry? whenever he wants to be a cryptic fuck to another character he will just pop out a blake quote and it’s kind of amazing how shit this guy is at social interaction huh.

griffon (the bird) and shadow (the panther) are noteworthy because of their personalities. they deeply care about V (and vergil too), but that doesn’t mean they wont give him shit, as seen above :3 just the cutest nightmare abominations ever. griffon kind of acts like a guiding force/morale support/resident shittalker and most of all, mother hen to V to keep him from getting himself killed because. well. V is incredibly reckless and might not entire realize humans can indeed Die From Things

in conclusion this man owns my ass and the way he tries to fix the mess he himself caused and actually grows to act like a Real Person and how that ties into vergil’s character development is amazing. also his theme slaps and he’s absolutely gorgeous and im saying that as a lesbian. capcom puts something in their games man
