The Sky's The Limit - Chapter 16

Previously:
"Thanks," Skye smiles, happy at the praise. "Except it doesn't work that way because I didn't have enough time to build it, so we need to plug his into one of their computers." Skye pulls out a flash drive and shows it to the others. "Spoiler alert - we can't seem to find one."
. . .
Turns out, the task was harder than it sounded.
"Get ready for a huge file transfer," (Y/n) says into the COMMs, shoving the file of the first Deathlok - John Garrett - back into the filing cabinet.
"How huge?" Skye asks.
Glass shatters as (Y/n), Coulson, and May heave a filing cabinet through a window of the eight story building.
There is a rush, FitzSimmons lifting the cabinet into the back of the truck.
Trip lifts a speargun and shoots a rope into the ceiling of the building before securing it to the bumper of the truck.
. . .
"(Y/n), Fitz, Simmons, you have the maps," Coulson says, and (Y/n) nods. "Do not engage under any circumstances. If you find the BUS, call us and stand down."
3rd Person POV
Ward slams his fist against the glass of the box, FitzSimmons cowering behind (Y/n), her broad shouldered figure blocking Ward from their view.
"Open the door, May," Ward growls.
"Do you think I'm a fucking idiot," (Y/n) replies.
All of a sudden, Fitz appears at (Y/n)'s shoulder. "Ward, please . . . " he says, pressing a hand to the glass. "I need to understand."
"You need to accept the truth, Fitz," Simmons says, placing a hand on Fitz's arm. "He doesn't care about us, about anything."
"No, I don't believe that," Fitz says desperately, pressing a hand to the glass again. "We're friends, aren't we? We've been friends. We've had laughs together. I know that you're a good person, Ward. And you can choose right now to be good. It's a choice."
Tears well in Simmons's eyes at Fitz's attempts.
"I've got my orders," Ward replies. "Open up the door.
"No," Simmons replies, pulling on Fitz's arm.
"Not a chance," Fitz replies, stepping behind (Y/n) again.
"Okay, have it your way," Ward replies, stepping away from the glass door.
"Wait, what're you doing?" (Y/n) asks as Ward steps towards a control panel. Ward pulls a lever and the box begins to slide back with a hiss of air.
As the box drops, (Y/n) wraps her arm around the two young agents. Her back hits the ground first, and before she blacks out, she hopes that the two scientists would be okay.
. . .
"You looked very peaceful sleeping," Fitz murmurs once Simmons wakes up. "Didn't want to wake you, but I'm glad that you're up."
"What's happening?" Simmons asks, sitting up slowly.
"I've spent the last hour trying to figure out why we sank," Fitz replies. "We're at the bottom of the ocean, in case you missed that bit. These pods are meant to be compatible with all SHIELD aircraft, submarines, spacecraft. On impact, the atmospheric adaptation must have tried to compensate. We slowly sank as it increased the density of the outer walls. I measured the rate the water rose on the glass. Did the math - we're at least ninety feet down. You can't see the surface."
"How did we survive the fall?" Simmons asks and Fitz nods to where (Y/n) is lying, her eyes glazed over, both legs bent at horrifyingly uncomfortable angles. (Y/n) was trying to control her breathing, but she knew she wasn't going to make it out of here.
. . .
"Are you scared?" Simmons asks the other two.
"Yeah," Fitz admits. "And I'm hungry too."
(Y/n) remains silent with thought, her head resting against one of the walls of the pod.
"What do you think it's like?" Simmons asks.
"Death?" (Y/n) replies, her hand resting gently on her broken leg, trying to make herself more comfortable."I suppose it depends on the method. Drowning's supposed to be quite pleasant in the end, apparently."
"The end," Simmons supplies.
"Ah, yeah," Fitz shrugs. "Well, my mum always said that you shouldn't be afraid because it's just like the way life was before you were born . . . which wasn't that bad, was it?"
"That's sweet," Simmons replies with a slight smile. "Though, apparently, I was miserable before I was born - upside down, umbilical cord wrapped all around my head."
"Yeah, well, she meant pre-conception, of cours -"
"I know. I'm joking," Simmons replies.
"Yeah, I knew that," Fitz says quickly.
. . .
The water rushes in as (Y/n) forces the air tank into Simmons's hands.
"I'm sorry," (Y/n) murmurs, pushing Fitz and Simmons up and out the shattered window.
. . .
Simmons reaches the surface, hauling Fitz up by the collar.
A sob wracks through Simmons. What would she tell Skye. Or Coulson. Or May. Or Natasha Romanoff - (Y/n)'s big sister.
Because (Y/n) Melinda May was dead. Dead at the bottom of the ocean.
. . .
Melinda May's eyes are full of pain as she stares at the empty coffin. Coulson's hand rests on her knee, his eyes full of pain as well.
Skye blinks her tears away, wrapping (Y/n)'s oversized hoodie around herself.
A little cat perches on top of the coffin, seemingly noticing why she was there. The little cat meows, before resting her head on the coffin, falling silent.
Natasha Romanoff - already having one sister ripped away from her - feels numb. Because her little sister was gone.
Word Count: 948 words
So yeah, this is it.
Don't riot against me . . .

Daisy's fingers intertwined with yours isn't a sign of a budding romance, but rather the result of a game.
On the flight back to the compound, you, Daisy, Vision, and Natasha, played a card game to kill time. You and Daisy, unfortunately, were on the losing side. Natasha, with her ever-sly grin and penchant for mischief, came up with a penalty—whichever team lost had to hold hands for the rest of the day.
The explanation has been long overdue, but in the days since your return, Wanda has made it abundantly clear that she wants nothing to do with you. Initially, you thought getting out of her way would give her the space she needs after you revealed to her that you willingly participated in her sex dream—something you still constantly beat yourself up over.
But it has become evident that she requires more than just physical distance; she wants you completely out of her life.
On top of this, despite Daisy having moved out to her own room a week after she put in the requisition, your sleep hasn't improved much. Every time you close your eyes, memories flood in: Wanda's voice, her warmth, even her distinct scent, all haunting your dreams just as vividly as they do during your waking hours.
The lack of sleep begins to take its toll, especially during training sessions. You're off your game, your reactions slowed, and your focus wavering. It's hard to stay sharp when your brain feels like it's swimming in a haze.
Natasha, always direct, just told you straight up that you look like hell and that you should get more sleep.
Easier said than done.
One evening, after another training mishap, you finally decide it's time to face the root of your sleeplessness. Clearing matters with Wanda isn't just for your peace of mind now; it's essential for the team's safety.
Taking a deep breath and gathering your thoughts, you make your way to Wanda's quarters. In your hand, a small olive branch: her favorite snacks, hoping it might soften the forthcoming confrontation. As you near her door, the muffled sound of laughter stops you. It's her voice, paired with another's—a voice you don't recognize.
As you inch closer, discreetly peeking into the slightly ajar door, the scene before you sharpens. The unfamiliar man stands closer to Wanda than anyone has in recent memory. Their laughter, her bright eyes, the casual touch of her hand on his arm—it's evident she's enjoying his company.
But it's not just any company, it looks like a date. And to make matters more intimate (and worse), they're headed into her quarters. The man holds a bottle of wine in one hand, suggesting a night in, and she's leading him, her fingers lightly grazing his as they move.
The snacks in your hand suddenly feel out of place, almost childish in the face of the mature, romantic scene unfolding before you. You spin on your heel, a new mission in mind, and beeline straight for Steve's office. Pushing through the door without knocking, you find him hunched over some paperwork.
“Steve,” you start, your voice edged with urgency. “What's the protocol for late-night visitors?”
He looks up, surprised by the sudden interruption, and takes a moment to process your question. “Well,” he begins, scratching his head, “As long as they're not on any criminal or watch lists, they're allowed in the compound.”
“Even this late?”
Steve's eyes dart away from yours for a moment, his cheeks tinting a soft pink. “We're all adults here,” he mumbles, the tips of his ears turning red. “As long as they're... respectful and discreet.”
Feeling the sting of frustration boiling over, you grit your teeth, barely getting out a terse “Fine,” before making your way out of his office.
On the way out, your gaze lands on a bottle of wine perched on a shelf, an apparent relic from a past era given the thick dust on its label. Without a second thought, you snatch it up.
“Hey!” Steve calls out, rising abruptly from his chair. “That's been aging for decades!”
But you're already gone, the echo of your footsteps a testament to your swift departure. Steve stands still for a moment, listening to the diminishing sound. Shaking his head, he mutters an exasperated, “Kids these days,” before turning back to his desk with a sigh.
Draining the entire bottle solo does little to coax sleep. Your healing powers, frustratingly, tend to neutralize the effects of intoxication almost immediately.
Still, you appreciate the brief, fleeting buzz. Lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, the shadows morph and play tricks on your eyes. You consider maybe you should've joined Sam on his night flight practices. At least then you'd be physically tired enough to drown out the noise in your head.
Shifting in your bed with a sigh, your thoughts drift to the first time you saw Wanda Maximoff.
Rogers had you cornered, your back on the cold ground, his knee pressing firmly into your chest. The skirmish had been intense, your side versus theirs, and one by one, your allies had been captured or incapacitated. You were the last holdout, defiant to the end.
With Rogers' weight pinning you down, and your arms restrained, you could only tilt your head to the side, ears picking up the sharp, rhythmic clicks of boots against concrete.
Wanda Maximoff made her entrance, and even in your vulnerable position, her presence commanded attention. Those signature boots, the flow of her skirt, the cascade of mahogany hair—all of it painted a picture of power and poise. But it was her eyes that held you—a deep, entrancing gaze that seemed to see right through you.
And now it’s those same eyes that keep you up at night. The same ones that used to lazily open each morning, taking a moment to adjust before locking onto yours, almost lighting up when they did.
And fuck it—you really want to see those eyes right now.
With a sudden surge of boldness, you spring from the bed, with every intention to barge into Wanda’s room and throw out the man from earlier.
But as you violently yank the door open, you're met with the most unexpected sight: Wanda.
She's standing there, fist raised, poised to knock. The proximity is startling. You can sense the faintest heat coming from her, so intimate it's almost intrusive. Her eyes widen in surprise, but you're too entranced to even process it. Your breath hitches, time seems to slow, and a million thoughts race through your mind.
Before any words can leave your lips, she closes the distance, her hands finding your face as she pulls you into a searing kiss.
Thrown off by the intensity of her kiss, you stagger back a few steps. On instinct, your hands slide down to the back of her thighs, lifting her with ease. She responds instantly, her legs wrapping around your waist, her grip on you tightening. The world blurs for a moment as your focus narrows down to the sensation of her against you.
With a swift kick, the door to your room slams shut, and you quickly reach behind to lock it. Your steps falter when the back of your knees hit the bed, causing both of you to tumble onto the soft mattress. The sudden change in elevation doesn't deter Wanda; she swiftly positions herself, straddling your hips, her hands exploring the contours of your face and neck.
Drawn to the warmth of her skin, your lips meander down her throat, eliciting soft sounds with every touch. The moment you nip at her pulse point, a deep moan escapes her, its vibrations going straight to your own core.
The sound causes you to pull back slightly. “Wait, Wanda–”
Wanda's brow furrows in annoyance, her crimson lips parting in a soft pout. “Why are you stopping?” she huffs, her tone sultry but also slightly slurred.
That's when you realize it—the faint but unmistakable scent of alcohol on her breath, the slight glossiness of her eyes, and the way her movements, while passionate, are also a tad uncoordinated.
“Wanda, have you been drinking?”
Her head tilts slightly, as if trying to understand the question, her lips parting in a lopsided smile. “Just a little,” she admits, her fingers playing with the collar of your shirt.
You gently cup her face, thumbing away a stray strand of hair. “We shouldn't do this if you're not sober, Wanda.”
“Me being unconscious didn't stop you before,” she hisses, a dark undertone to her voice. The air in the room suddenly grows thick and heavy. Wanda's words, stinging like a slap.
Your stomach drops, guilt and regret flooding through you. Carefully, you slip from Wanda's hold, swinging your legs off the bed to sit with your back turned to her. That night was something you'd replayed in your mind over and over again, beating yourself up for crossing a line you never should have. The hurt in Wanda's voice only exacerbates the pain.
“Wanda, I—” you start, risking a glance over your shoulder.
“I shouldn't have said that,” Wanda whispers, looking as if she's on the verge of tears. “I'm sorry.”
“No,” you quickly counter, a lump forming in your throat, “You meant that. And you have every right to. It's something we should've confronted a long time ago. Whatever happens next, I'll accept any consequences for my actions.”
Wanda reaches out to place a hand on your shoulder, her voice shaky, “If you're ready, then I'm ready too. I'm not innocent in all of this. I took advantage of the situation as well.”
You shake your head firmly, turning to face her and then grabbing her chin gently, making her eyes meet yours, “No, Wanda. You weren't aware. I was. I knew better. That's on me, not you.”
In response, Wanda dithers, then gently kisses the fingers you have placed under her chin. But she doesn’t stop there. A fire still kindling in her veins, she surges forward to claim your lips once again.
You kiss her back for a fleeting second, getting lost in the softness of her lips. But then you pull back, placing a palm against her chest. “Wanda, you need to sleep. You’re not…We'll talk. I promise, in the morning.”
She sighs, her fight melting away as the weight of the alcohol and exhaustion take over. Relenting, she nods, and you help her get situated under the covers.
You start to arrange some pillows on the floor, intending to make a bed for yourself. But as you're about to lie down, Wanda's sleepy voice stops you.
“Stay with me,” she mumbles. “I've been having trouble sleeping without you. I just... I want you near.”
Drunk Wanda feels like a whole other person, wearing her heart on her sleeve in a way that just makes you want to wrap her up and protect her.
After all that's transpired tonight, you're wary. But seeing her there, curled up and looking so small in that big bed, it's hard to resist. You exhale, "Just for tonight," you murmur, more to yourself than to her.
Climbing into the bed, you maintain a respectful distance at first. But, as minutes tick by, you find Wanda inching closer, until her head is nestled into the crook of your neck. Her warm breath tickles your skin, and you can't help but wrap an arm around her, pulling her close.
With everything that went down tonight, you'd think sleep would be impossible. But with the bed being so comfy and Wanda so close, you feel your eyelids getting heavy. It’s strange how having someone next to you can make things feel a bit better. Even with all that’s happened between you two, Wanda’s still your calm in the storm.
And you hope, deep down, you're that for her too.
-
The next morning dawns, and you find the space beside you empty.
It's not entirely unexpected.
Rubbing the sleep from your eyes, you notice the other side of the bed is empty. It’s quiet, and the room feels a bit colder than before. Splashing cold water on your face helps you wake up a bit more, but it also makes everything from last night crash back into your mind.
Alright, deep breath. You've got this.
For now, giving Wanda her space feels like the right move. You can't even begin to imagine what's going on in her head. But you–
You've got a pretty clear picture of what you want, and if that means waiting a bit longer for her to figure things out, so be it.
Pulling on some clothes, you decide to bury yourself in work and maybe hit the gym later. A distraction is just what you need right now. But as you leave the room, you can't help but hope that once everything cools down, you and Wanda can finally sort things out.
Whatever that might look like.
-
The timing couldn't have been worse. Of all the moments for disaster to strike.
The piercing shriek of alarms tears through the compound right before dinner.
It is quickly followed by an earth-shaking rumble.
The compound is under siege, and this isn't a regular assault. It's planned, strategic, and designed for maximum devastation. The ground quivers beneath you as you scramble to your feet.
Missiles rain down from all directions, their impacts causing blinding explosions and sending shockwaves that rattle the building's foundation. Dust and debris cloud the air, limiting visibility. The familiar hum of the building's defenses rises, but it's evident they're struggling against the barrage.
Steve's voice, steady yet urgent, sounds over the intercom. “All hands on deck! Secure the compound. Natasha, Clint, get the personnel out now.”
You grab your gear and rush out, adrenaline surging. The corridors are chaos—agents, staff, and superheroes all trying to restore order while dodging blasts and the intruders now inside.
You take a sharp turn, making a beeline for Wanda's quarters. As you approach, your heart sinks. The area is a mess of crumbled concrete, twisted metal, and shattered ceilings. The sight is gut-wrenching, and a cold dread fills your chest.
“Wanda!” you shout, your voice raw with fear. Debris crunches under your boots as you race towards the wreckage of her room, trying to find any sign of her.
Distant explosions and shouts echo down the corridor, but they're just background noise to the panic tightening in your chest. You start to dig through the rubble, tossing aside chunks of wall and broken furniture.
“Wanda!” you yell again.
Suddenly, a muffled groan reaches your ears, and you zero in on its source. Frantically clearing away the debris, your hands finally find the familiar fabric of her jacket. Pulling with all your might, you manage to free her from the wreckage.
Her face is smudged with dust, a small cut bleeding on her forehead, but her eyes—those eyes you had lost sleep over—flutter open, meeting yours with a mixture of relief and pain.
“Hey,” she coughs weakly, a small smile forming on her lips despite the situation.
As you reach to help her up, she lets out a sharp, agonized scream that stops you dead in your tracks. Your gaze shifts down, and horror sets in as you spot a length of steel rebar protruding from her side, clearly having pierced through her abdomen. Blood seeps around the intrusion, staining her clothes a dark, foreboding shade of crimson.
“Wanda!” The name escapes your lips in a choked whisper, panic overtaking your every thought. Dropping to your knees beside her, your hands hover above the injury, unsure of what to do. Removing the rebar might cause more damage, but leaving it could be just as lethal.
The anguish in Wanda's eyes is almost too much to bear, tears spilling down her face as she clutches weakly at the protruding metal. “I–It hurts,” she manages to gasp out, her voice trembling.
Distant footsteps grow louder, echoing through the shattered hallways. The approach is too rapid, too relentless. Friend or foe, you can't determine. You don’t have the luxury of time to find out.
With urgency mounting, your eyes, stinging with tears of your own, dart around the destroyed corridor, searching for an exit, a hiding spot, any kind of advantage. But every moment counts. “Hold on, Wanda,” you whisper, your voice thick with desperation. “Just hold on.”
But she's weakening fast. You know you need to act, and quickly. Taking a deep, steadying breath, you place one hand above the wound and the other below. “I'm going to pull it out, okay? I need you to stay with me.”
With a nod from Wanda, albeit a weak one, you summon all your strength, both physical and emotional, and in one swift motion, you remove the metal. Blood flows more freely now, and Wanda's scream fills the corridor, echoing off the walls.
Using your powers, you immediately start to heal the wound, the warm glow surrounding your hands as they work their magic on her injured torso. Wanda's once steady heartbeat is now all over the place under your touch.
The process is agonizingly slow, and every second feels like an eternity. You literally feel your powers leaving your body, as you concentrate on focusing all your energy on the gaping hole on Wanda’s stomach. You dig deep, pulling out energy you didn't even know you had. It's like trying to stay afloat when every wave tries to drag you under. But bit by bit, you watch the wound start to close, the bleeding halting, and the raw edges of her skin fusing back together.
Wanda's shaky breaths slowly stabilize, but her complexion remains worryingly pale. By the time you've healed the wound to just a scar, you're on the brink of passing out, every bit of energy sapped from you.
“Y/N…” Wanda weakly squeezes your hand. “You... you saved me again,” she says, her voice a raspy whisper.
Your head leans into hers, and you muster a faint smile. “Always for you,” you whisper back.
You both start leaning in, faces just a few inches away, when–
When suddenly, a sharp pain lances through your chest, quickly followed by another agonizing jolt in your stomach. Not so long ago, you shrugged off a sniper's bullet like it was nothing. But now, these bullets burn, and the shock of not being invincible all the time hits you harder than the actual shots.
Wanda's eyes, previously filled with gratitude, are now wide with horror. The transition from relief to shock to rising fury is evident. Her eyes blaze a menacing shade of red, her powers swelling with her emotions.
“You... you were bulletproof,” she stammers, a trembling hand reaching out to you.
“I thought I was,” you choke out, blood pooling in your mouth and trickling down the side of your lips.
Your strength is fading fast, and everything's starting to go fuzzy. All around, the place is falling apart, but there's this sudden burst of red energy.
Wanda.
She's letting it all out, and the power's intense.
The last thing you hear, right before everything goes black, is Wanda's voice, raw and choked with emotion, screaming your name. “Y/N!”

Wandanat x Bioquake x Bobbi x reader
Plot: Reader goes beyond her limits with her powers to help others (exhausts her powers)
TW: death for a moment(?)
It all happens so fast that you don't realize it until the building starts collapsing over your heads. You see a chunk of concrete the size of a car fall on top of you, and before your brain can connect, your body acts on instinct, carrying you, Daisy, and Bobbi out of the building. You concentrate on teleporting all three of you, intact, inside the quinjet where Jemma, Natasha and Wanda are running the operation, or at least, were before everything went to hell.
You land on the floor of the plane with a thud, falling forward and coughing hard to expel the dust that has filled your lungs. You glance at your girls making sure they are okay and then, you cross your arms to teleport again but Natasha's hand on your left arm stops you.
"Don’t even think about it, everything is collapsing, you can't teleport in there. It is suicide and you are not going to save anyone if you are dead, do you understand me?"
You swallow, watching the building collapse, and so, with a small smile on your lips, you lean toward Natasha and kiss her. It lasts a few seconds and she is distracted enough to let go of her grip on you.
"I'm sorry but I have to do this," you whisper and then, you close your eyes and feel the earth vanish from under your feet. You focus on the 'one safe place inside the building that you know with absolute certainty will not collapse. The beauty of a secret Hydra base was the bunkers, after all. Those crazy fucking Nazis had thought that sacrificing at least a hundred of their own people was a fair price to pay to take out three S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, and they had blown up the load-bearing walls of the building with a simple and very trivial click. Nazis, they never change.
When you open your eyes again and realize you are not dead or under some boulder, you gloat internally and mentally thank Natasha for forcing you to learn the floor plan of that base. You remember perfectly her stern look when she had presented you with the mission and forced you to learn every single detail by heart. At that moment you had hated it but now...now you really wanted to kiss her.
You raise your hands in the air when you notice a score of soldiers pointing their guns at you, hiding behind them their "incentives," as Hydra liked to call them. Wives, husbands, children, mothers and fathers hid behind those men and women in black with a crest that did not belong to them.
"It's okay, I just want to get you out of here. I can teleport you all but in multiple groups."
You curse yourself internally, you know you'll never be able to take this much effort, the last time you tried to teleport five people together you fainted and were unconscious for six hours you can't even imagine what would happen with forty, including soldiers and families.
You take a deep breath and think quickly about how you can take everyone out of there. The floor under your feet trembles and just as the children begin to cry, the earpiece in your ear comes alive.
"Y/n, damn it, Daisy can't hold it much longer...you have to get out of there, do you hear me? The structure won't hold much longer" Bobbi yells in your ear and you nod, well aware that she cannot see you, before giving her a verbal response.
"I'm trying honey, thanks for the advice though."
You mumble sarcastically, no longer listening to what your girlfriends are shouting at you over the comms and focusing instead on getting the people in front of you to safety. The soldiers lower their weapons and pull off the bands on your arm, throwing them to the ground.
"Are there others in the base?"
"They're all dead, ma'am" the lieutenant, or who you think is the lieutenant, answers you by looking around as if to confirm what she just said. Your stomach clenches at the thought of all those people who died for a cause they didn't even believe in but you quickly shake off that feeling, you don't have time for it. You quickly count them, noting that there are twenty-five of them before thinking about how to get them all out of there safely.
"So… I can take all the children outside."
You point to the little ones; some of them are crying while others are looking at you with wide, fearful eyes but charged with the same admiration and hope with which a child looks at his favorite superhero. There are nine children but you can make it, they are worth four times one adult, right? You can even take four adults with you, then; you have to do it, you won't have the strength to make three more trips, you are sure.
You gather them around you and have each of them touch arms or legs, depending on where their little hands reach, and do the same with the four women, two old and two young, who accompany them. As they say, women and children first.
"Y/n, we have set up a camp out here, four hundred meters from the base in a southwesterly direction."
-What the hell is the South?" you think, before shrugging your shoulders and closing your eyes. The feeling of the floor vanishing beneath your feet is not something you will ever get used to, if you have to be honest. You hear the children scream, whether from excitement or fear you can't tell, and then, in less than a second, you find yourself at that poorly set up base camp Jemma told you about a few seconds ago. A little dizziness forces you to lean on the ground, on the hot sand beneath you, and small drops of blood color the grains beneath your fingers. You raise your hand, reaching up your nose and finding the source of the bleeding. Children are being rounded up by an officer but you fail to recognize him as your girlfriends run toward you. Jemma has a first aid kit in her hand, but before she can set about playing cheerful surgeon with you, you scan to the side, staggering on your own feet.
"I'm fine, I've got to get back in there."
"You can't stand y/n, you can't-"
You frown, noticing only in that moment that Daisy is not there with all of you.
"Where's Dee?"
"She fainted, tried to absorb as many shocks as possible. She's collapsed y/n and that's also what's going to happen to you if you continue, you're already in a very bad way."
Jemma lifts your head, causing your gazes to cross and looking critically at your pupils and the nosebleed that doesn't seem to have any intention of stopping coming out. You back away a few steps, looking into their eyes.
"Go to Daisy, I'll take care of this," you say and then disappear again.
You repeat the same process as before, surrounding yourself with six soldiers and watching the remaining six.
"I will come back for you, I promise."
And as you disappear into thin air, another tremor shakes the ground.
The landing is more abrupt this time. Your heart beats so weakly that you feel as if oxygen is not getting to your brain. Contrary to what you expected, Natasha grabs you by the arms before your face can splat on the scorching sand. You struggle to stay awake and if so out that you don't even notice Daisy, pale, sweaty, and trembling, over the shoulders of the former Russian spy. You blink a few times to focus on the image in front of you and finally the sounds reach your ears again.
"Y/N!"
Natasha shakes you by the shoulders and you awaken from your stupor. The worried gazes of Wanda, Jemma, Daisy, Natasha and Bobbi are fixed on you as Natasha gently lays you on the ground and Jemma places a bottle of water on your lips, helping you drink it. As soon as you remember where you are, you try to sit up but Daisy stops you, simply putting a hand on your chest to keep you down.
"I'm-I'm fine, mm-missing six people-D-I have to an-go."
You stammer, the effort you've put in doesn't even make you able to utter a coherent and clea sentence. Another jolt shakes the floor beneath your feet and Daisy groans in pain, bringing her hands to her head and squeezing her eyes shut. That small advantage allows you to roll over and with an absurd effort you manage to get to your feet and disappear back under their gazes.
When you get to the bunker, the first thing you do is fall to your knees and throw up. You completely empty your stomach under the disgusted gaze of the six soldiers in front of you. You wipe your mouth with your suit, wrinkling your nose at the disgusting taste of vomit in your mouth and leaning against the wall to pull yourself up without passing out. You must hold on a little longer, just a little, and then you can collapse to the ground.
The six soldiers surround you-diligently avoiding the pool of vomit on the ground and the blood that keeps coming out of your nose-and in a moment you are out.
As soon as you hit the sand, you sprawl to the ground. Your cheek scrapes against the sand and this time Natasha is not quick enough to catch you. Jemma drops to her knees next to you, turns you so that your face is facing her but your eyes are closed. She checks your chest and when she notices that the latter does not rise or fall, she checks your pulse before a gasp of terror and fear escapes her lips.
"Bobbi, adrenaline and defibrillator. Now!"
Natasha tilts your head back, her eyes glazed over as she opens your mouth and blows air into your lungs. Jemma begins compressions.
1,2,3,4,5
Nat puts air into your lungs and your chest rises and falls once before falling back inert. Wanda's sobs and Jemma's barely stifled ones are the only sound before a crack makes your girls nauseous.
"It's okay, it happens during compressions," Jemma's voice trembles as she says it and then, she performs another round of compressions. Your arms burn but that pain is nothing compared to the dull ache that is burning in your chest at that moment.
1,2,3,4,5
Natasha forces your chest up again and then Bobbi arrives with defibrillator and adrenaline in hand. She is sweating and her heart is racing. She has never run so fast in her entire life.
"Bobbi, take my place."
Jemma continues with compressions, then, on her go, Bobbi gets in place and follows her own rhythm.
"Come on rockstar, it's not your time yet, come on."
Bobbi's breath barely hides the tremor in her voice but not the tears that line her cheeks. It takes two defibrillator shocks before your heart starts beating again.
"Oh my God" Wanda bursts into tears, leaning over your face and gently kissing your forehead, brushing a few strands of sweaty hair off your face.
"Good, you did great love" Natasha whispers, taking your hand in her own as Bobbi laughs from relief.
Daisy instead stands by, frowning, and Jemma is the first to notice.
"Dee, what's wrong?"
Daisy looks at you and then, nods.
"Something's wrong, her heart, it doesn't have the usual vibes, non-"
And then, your heart stops beating again.
"Fuck, Bobbi give me the adrenaline."
Jemma Simmons never swears but there are always exceptions.
Jemma performs two more rounds of compressions before injecting adrenaline into your chest. She hooks you up to one of the monitors that Fitz had devised a few months earlier, at the request of the biochemist, for just such situations, and when he sees that the line remains flat, his heart, too, seems to stop for a few seconds.
Your body is shaken by the shock emitted by the defibrillator; it arches upward and then falls back to the sand as hard as a puppet whose strings have been suddenly dropped. The line remains flat and Jemma's tears now gush without limit.
"No no, Jem you have to try again. She can't, she can't..."
Wanda bursts into tears, looking at your lifeless body lying on the ground. Natasha punches the ground with such force that the crack that can be heard echoing cannot mean anything good. Bobbi cries as she takes the former Russian spy's hand and gives her a look. Anything not to think about what just happened.
"No, it doesn't end like that."
"Daisy...she-"
Daisy takes your lifeless body in her hands, shaking it by the shoulders.
"Do you understand me? You can't fucking die, you can't. You promised us, you stubborn idiot, you promised us!"
The Inhuman hits your chest hard, her fist closed, and without her really being able to control what she's doing, a powerful jolt goes through your chest and crashes against the ground, creating a small crack beneath you, and then, the flat line of the monitor disappears, replaced by regular little roller coasters.
"W-what?" Daisy whispers, sitting on the floor suddenly much more tired than before from the effort she has just made. Jemma hurries to personally check your pulse and when she feels the pulse under her fingers, a shuddering breath of joy leaves her lips.
"I...I think your tremors got her heart beating again Dee."
Jemma does not detach her fingers from your wrist, lulling herself into the sweet sensation of your heartbeat, albeit weak. Wanda covers her face, bursting into tears, and the other girls also let out a liberating cry, releasing all the tension and fear they had felt up to that moment.
...................................................................................................
Your body takes five days to heal just enough to open your eyes. You realize you are in the Quinjet's medical capsule within seconds, by now you have been there so many times over the years that you know the smallest details: the familiar beeping sound of your heartbeat, the red button to call Jemma just below the lamp behind the back of the bed, the IV that feeds drugs into your veins, and the glass from which Jemma checks that you are not doing anything the doctor has forbidden you to do. A little unfair of her since she is the doctor. You feel as if a truck has hit you and then a car has run over you to complete the job. You raise your hand to scratch your nose but the oxygen mask prevents you from doing so so you squeeze it between your fingers to remove it but just as you are about to do so, a hasty knock against the clear glass causes you to smile a small smile of exasperation. Even before you turn around, in fact, you already know that you will see your beautiful doctor on the other side. To your surprise, however, she is not alone.
"You just woke up and already you want to take off your mask, I have no words really. Who is the doctor here? You have to do what I tell you if you want to get better, between you and Dais I really don't know who is worse."
Jemma admonishes you and you blush, feeling like a child being scolded by his parents.
"Hey, what do I have to do with this now?" Daisy pouts before slinging herself into your arms. You can't help but notice that his forearm is completely bandaged. When he notices where your gaze points, the Inhuman shrugs.
"It was worth it."
She slides the mask off your face, kissing you with so much passion and love that it leaves you breathless for a few seconds before the Inhuman promptly rushes to slip the mask back over your face.
"You scared us malyshka" Natasha approaches you and her plastered hand makes you frown. The Russian blushes, and for some reason you realize you don't really need to ask her how she broke her hand. Wanda caresses your cheek, leaving a tender kiss on your forehead.
"How are you feeling detka?"
"I'm just a little tired but I'm fine; exactly what happened?"
Their faces darken and that joy you had seen quickly fades.
"You collapsed, your heart couldn't take the strain, and we had to revive you twice." Bobbi's voice trembles as she says this and you reach out your hand toward her; the blonde grabs it and intertwines your fingers, turning a small smile to you.
"You were really a rockstar but if you do that again, I think we might actually kill you."
"Oh yes, don't think we haven't thought about what punishment to give you. Besides not being able to use your powers for at least four months-"
"What? Four months? But that's an eternity-" you jerk back to your seat, removing your mask and immediately regretting it as your vision blurs and the pain in your ribs increases exponentially, so much so that you lean to the right and vomit into the only thing you can grab.
Jemma strokes your back while Wanda holds your hair as you empty the meager contents of your stomach. As soon as you finish, you are so weak that dizziness takes over and your head falls back forward. If it weren't for Wanda, your face would be splattered against the floor. Jemma casts a glance at the heart monitor, and the value it reads makes your heart beat so fast you're afraid your chest might explode. She puts on your oxygen mask and then checks your vitals again.
Your pupils roll back, and as you fall helpless into Wanda's arms, the Sokovian panics a little.
"Hey, hey, detka wake up."
Wanda taps your cheeks but the only thing that changes is the further lowering of your heart rate.
"Jem, what's going on?" Daisy strokes your face, putting her hand on your chest to check your heart vibrations.
Jemma rummages through the drawers of the medical capsule and then, at the fifth drawer she ravages for something, she finally finds what she is looking for. In her hands she clutches a small glass case, inside which she glimpses a metal disk less than three centimeters in diameter and less than two centimeters thick.
As soon as she sees this, Bobbi cuts off your suit exposing your bare chest except for the three electrodes and the black bra you are wearing.
Jemma places the diskette on top of your left breast, just above your sternum, and presses the button above it. The disc blends in with your skin, being invisible to the human eye, and your body jerks, before your heartbeat returns to normal. The small jolt causes you to open your eyes and grimace in pain.
"What the hell-" you mutter, reaching out to massage your chest but Jemma stops you before you can.
"Hey, your heart rate was extremely low and I had to put a pacemaker on you. It's not invasive, Fitz designed one that blends in perfectly and doesn't give any problems whatsoever but you'll have to avoid EMPs but you can't take it off love, okay? I think the effort you put in was such that it damaged your heart, and without a peacemaker you could have another heart attack so until we find another solution and until we have done more tests, you can't use your powers."
You nod, squeezing your eyes shut as fatigue takes over.
"Rest now, we're here malyshka."
Natasha leaves a kiss in your hair while Daisy leaves one on your cheek. Jemma dims the lights to allow you to rest and Wanda lies next to you in the crib while Bobbi closes the glass curtains facing outward to give you all some privacy as you fall into dreamland surrounded by your girls.
You don't know it yet but one of those children you saved is going to become one of the best agents S.H.I.E.L.D. has ever had so maybe a slightly battered heart is worth it.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it. Leave like, comment and if you like support me on ko-fi. Have a great day!

Request Rules:
DO NOT INTERACT with my work if you are not 18+. While most of the stuff that I write isn't NSFW, there are violent themes and I will block you if this rule is broken.
There are a lot of prompts in my inbox, and while I try to get them done in a timely matter, I do have a lot going on most times, so I will post when I post.
While I try to keep my fanfiction gender neutral, some of it will be directed towards she/her or she/they pronouns as that is how I identify and it's hard to break that habit. Mostly gender neutral though!
There are a few things I won't write (Trigger warning for these): Pregnancy, Self-harm, Suicide, or anything underage.
I prefer requests that have a little bit of wiggle room. Sometimes it's hard to conceptualize a longer plot and include everything. I'm not talking about one word prompts here, but I'd like it to be less than a paragraph if possible.

My Archer (Kate Bishop x Pregnant!Reader; Natasha Romanoff x Daisy Johnson)
Kate Bishop Masterlist
Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
(Y/n) Johnson hums happily over her bowl of brownie mix. Her fiance, Kate, had been sent on a no-contact mission with Clint, Natasha, and Yelena for the last week or so, leaving (Y/n) alone with their pets, Lucky the Pizza Dog - a golden retriever - and Tiger - a bengal cat.
There was something that (Y/n) needed to tell Kate, but she supposed that her secret would be safe for the time being.
Tiger jumps up onto the counter, and for once, (Y/n) doesn't scold the cat, or ask him jump down, happy for the cat’s company.
Tiger lets out a mrow, shuffling his paws on the countertop.
(Y/n) smiles at the cat as she pours the brownie batter into a pan before sliding it into the oven.
. . .
It had turned out that Kate’s no-contact mission had turned out to last three months and Kate still hadn’t come home.
(Y/n)’s older sister, Daisy, frequently drops by the apartment to visit her pregnant sister, Tiger, and Lucky.
It had been a day when Daisy had been visiting when (Y/n) finally broke.
“I miss Kate,” (Y/n) is cuddled up on the couch with Tiger resting on her stomach.
Daisy looks over at her sister, whose eyes had welled with tears. Daisy gets up, moving over to her sister, wrapping her in a hug.
“I know you miss her,” Daisy murmurs, rocking her sister gently.
. . .
Kate returns a week later in the middle of the night, almost tripping over Lucky and Tiger, who were curled up together on the welcome mat, just inside the door.
The woman, exhausted, strips herself of her purple mission suit, before slipping into a pair of black boxers and an oversized purple t-shirt before she crawls into bed.
The young Bishop notices something is different about her fiance when she wraps her arms around (Y/n)’s waist, but she writes it off as off her tiredness and falls asleep, her head falling to rest against (Y/n)’s on (Y/n)’s shoulder.
. . .
Kate panics when (Y/n) isn’t in her arms the next morning, but she faintly remembers a kiss on her forehead and a promise of a welcome home breakfast; Kate’s panic lessens.
Kate sleepily stumbles into the kitchen, her shirt riding up slightly as she pulls on a sweatshirt.
“Hiya, sweetie,” (Y/n) turns to meet her fiance’s gaze.
Kate grins, her eyebrows scrunching up. She studies (Y/n) closely but only notices that that oversized t-shirt was a little tighter around her stomach than it had been three and a half months before, but once again, Kate writes it off.
“You can have a seat,” (Y/n) offers, gesturing to the barstools at the island across from her.
Kate hums, but leaps onto the counter next to where (Y/n) was making french toast and bacon, and cutting up some fruit.
“I missed you,” Kate says softly, pulling (Y/n) to her with a hand.
(Y/n) moves willingly, allowing Kate to pepper kisses to (Y/n)’s face.
“We should invite Daisy, Natasha, and Yelena over for breakfast,” (Y/n) says and Kate smiles.
“Okay,” Kate presses another kiss to (Y/n)’s forehead. “I’ll go get my phone and call them,” Kate replies.
(Y/n) stretches up to place a kiss onto Kate’s lips before moving so Kate could jump off the counter.
Tiger takes place on the counter, leaning his head down to press his nose against the top of (Y/n)’s stomach.
“You sneaky little cat,” (Y/n) says, petting the cat’s head before turning back to her pans.
. . .
Kate and (Y/n) set the plates of french toast and bacon on the table, as well as a bowls of cut strawberries, blueberries, and pineapple.
“Thank you two for inviting us over,” Natasha says, looking up at (Y/n), and meeting (Y/n)’s gaze.
“I thought it was best for our family to have a welcome home breakfast together,” (Y/n) replies, smiling at the older redhead.
(Y/n) can swear that Natasha’s eyes water at the words, and (Y/n)’s heart clenches. Her expression softens, and she reaches over to squeeze the woman’s hand.
Then Kate brings something to the table that makes Yelena perk up. “You made me macaroni?” the blonde’s accent is as thick as normal.
“Thought you’d want some,” (Y/n) replies.
“Thank you Kate Bishop and (Y/n) Johnson,” Yelena says, grabbing the hot sauce off the table.
“I was wondering what the heck that was for,” Daisy says, glancing amusedly at Yelena.
(Y/n) smirks when she finds Natasha’s gaze lingering on her sister’s face.
Quack, (Y/n) thinks, almost rolling her eyes at the ship name she’d seen for her sister and the redheaded Avenger online.
. . .
(Y/n) drums her fingers on the dining room table as she tries to find her words.
Kate looks at (Y/n), her eyes gleaming with concern and worry. “Did I do something wrong?” Kate asks, her eyes wide.
(Y/n) looks up, her eyes on Kate. “No, sweetie. Of course not,” (Y/n) replies, reaching out to rest her hands atop Kate’s, which had begun to tap on the table, in sync with (Y/n)’s. “We’re going to have a baby,” (Y/n) blurts out.
Kate’s eyes widen more. “Really!” Kate bounces excitedly in her chair.
“You’re happy?” (Y/n) asks, her eyes watering.
“Yes. Yes!” Kate bounces out of her chair, moving to pull (Y/n) up and into a hug.
Kate’s tight squeeze softens almost immediately. “Did I hurt you?” Kate pulls away, looking into (Y/n)’s face for any signs of distress.
(Y/n)’s arms wrap around Kate’s waist, pulling the women closer, and allowing her head to rest on Kate’s chest. “You could never hurt me.”
. . .
(Y/n)’s head is lying on Kate’s thigh. (Y/n) is now thirty-one weeks into her pregnancy, and was getting to the point where she was always tired.
Kate’s finger brush against (Y/n)’s forehead, and then her belly.
(Y/n) had become frustrated with how heavy she felt, but Kate had always been adamant that (Y/n) was still beautiful in her eyes.
(Y/n) closes her eyes, knowing that an early afternoon nap would be good for her, as she hadn’t been able to sleep at night - that’s when the baby seemed to be the most active and the large bump wasn’t much help either.
Kate looks down, her expression softening as she studies (Y/n)’s face.
. . .
Kate cradles her son to her chest, as she rocks in the chair.
(Y/n) walks into the nursery, her expression gentle as she takes in her sleeping fiance and son, Oliver.
The name Oliver had been a joke at first, in reference to Oliver Queen from the Arrow, but after calling the baby Oliver for so long, it had stuck, and the two women had come to adore the name.
“Katie,” (Y/n) murmurs, pressing a kiss to Kate’s forehead. Kate’s eyes flash open, and she tightens her arms instinctively around Oliver. “It’s just me,” (Y/n) says softly, reaching out her arms to take Oliver.
Kate’s grip on the baby softens - not that it had been overly tight - and (Y/n) reaches over to take Oliver.
Kate sleepily stands up, stretching, and then her gaze flares with concern and guilt. “I’m sorry.”
“Go on, Kate,” (Y/n) reaches up to press a kiss to Kate’s cheek. “I know you’re tired. You’ve been pulling late shifts at work. I’ll be there in a minute.”
(Y/n) rocks Oliver back to sleep - he’d been squirming slightly in (Y/n)’s arms.
Kate guiltily stumbles off to bed, sliding under the covers while she lies on her back, staring at the ceiling and waiting for (Y/n) to join her in bed.
(Y/n) returns to bed, cuddling up beside Kate, her head resting on Kate’s chest and she guides Kate’s arm to wrap around her waist.
“I’m sorry,” Kate says again, her voice soft as to not yell in (Y/n)’s ear.
“Kate,” (Y/n) props herself up with an elbow. “There’s nothing you need to be sorry for.”
Kate turns her head, and her eyes gleam with sadness and guilt. “Oliver’s only been home for a month, and I’ve already messed up. I’m a terrible mother.”
(Y/n) brushes away the tears that had begun to trickle down Kate’s cheek. “Kate,” she uses a finger to tilt Kate’s chin up to meet her gaze, “you couldn’t be a better mother if you tried. Even exhausted, you still take time to help out with Oliver. I wouldn’t be able to do this without you.”
Kate’s expression softens and she rests her nose against (Y/n)’s temple.
There is a comfortable silence between the two lovers before (Y/n) hears snoring above her head - she had allowed her head to rest against Kate’s chest again.
“Good night, my archer,” (Y/n) presses a kiss to Kate’s cheek before she closes her own eyes. She couldn’t be more excited to see where her life would lead her and her little family. (Y/n) smiles at the thought, Tiger and Lucky jumping up onto the bed and curling up together at (Y/n) and Kate’s feet.

Part Summary: There's a new recruit who seems to have taken a liking to you. If things were normal between you and Wanda, maybe she wouldn’t feel so…threatened.
Chapter word count: 2.6k+ | Tags: Light Angst, Mutual Pining, Unresolved Sexual Tension, Enemies to Lovers to Enemies, Gay disasters
Ship: Wanda Maximoff x Gender Neutral Reader
Part Five | Series Masterlist
-
The newest recruit, Daisy Johnson, seems to have taken a liking to you.
At least, that's what Wanda Maximoff has observed since Daisy's inclusion earlier this week.
From the corner of her eye, Wanda constantly catches the newbie stealing glances at you during training, meals, and even debriefing sessions. It's not that she keeps tabs on you or anything, but she can't help but notice when you catch someone’s attention, especially when that someone seems to be nearly everywhere you are.
In every training session, Wanda notes Daisy choosing to partner up with you or standing close by during briefings. Even in the more relaxed moments within the compound, Daisy seems irresistibly drawn to you. Wanda doesn't miss how Daisy occasionally throws prolonged glances your way, or how she laughs a tad too enthusiastically at something you say.
And it doesn't help that you and she walk on eggshells around each other since your confession in your old cell.
Neither of you has made any attempts to talk to the other again. Not even a glance, as if pretending the other doesn't exist will make that fateful night disappear. But for Wanda, the more she tries to push it out of her mind, the more sharply it edges back in, refusing to be forgotten.
She can't help but wonder: Was it wrong of her to move like that in her sleep? And were you out of line for not waking her up right away?
And more importantly: Were you so repulsed by it that you chose a prison cell over sharing her bed?
All these questions keep swimming in her mind, to the point where she has considered going to whoever handles this sort of stuff at the compound—kind of like an HR Department, but for Avengers. Perhaps a course on understanding boundaries might help you both move past this and start anew.
But then again, addressing it means dealing with it, and right now, just avoiding the whole mess seems so much easier.
As Wanda turns a corner in one of the compound's sprawling hallways, her eyes catch sight of you and Daisy. You’re both laughing, heads thrown back, not a care in the world. Wanda's eyes involuntarily narrow at the sight, taking note of the negligible distance between you two. Daisy's hand is resting lightly on your arm, fingers dancing along the fabric of your shirt as she emphasizes a point in her story.
Wanda tries to walk past nonchalantly, yet can't seem to dispel the feelings that bubble up each time she sees you with Daisy.
It's maddening. If things were normal between you and Wanda, maybe she wouldn’t feel so…threatened.
But they aren't.
And she does.
-
Wanda's patience is tested to its limits one Saturday afternoon.
Tasked with joining Sam to whip up dinner for the team's weekly movie night, she's diligently chopping vegetables in the expansive kitchen when Daisy sidles up to her.
“Hey, uh, Wanda, right?” Daisy begins, a casual tone to her voice.
Wanda doesn’t even look up as she answers, “Yes?”
“Can I ask you something about Y/N?”
Wanda's grip on the knife tightens just a fraction, her posture stiffening. “I think it’s better if you ask Vision–he monitors all of us even more closely than the cameras we have everywhere.”
As the words leave Wanda's mouth, Vision, who’s been quietly tinkering with a device on the other side of the kitchen, looks up suddenly, his usually stoic face showing a hint of surprise.
“I assure you, I do no such thing,” he starts, his tone a touch defensive. “Monitoring everyone is not part of my programming or my personal interests.”
Daisy raises an eyebrow, a teasing smile playing on her lips. “Sure, Vis. Everyone needs a hobby, right?”
Vision clears his throat, looking somewhat flustered, “It is not a 'hobby' of mine.”
Wanda can't help but smirk slightly at Vision's discomfort, her attention briefly diverted from the awkwardness with Daisy. “It's just a joke, Vision. Relax.”
He gives a curt nod, turning his attention back to the device in his hand, though he remains noticeably quiet.
Daisy chuckles lightly, but her curiosity remains unsated. “Anyway, back to Y/N?” She prompts, looking expectantly at Wanda. “Steve mentioned that if anyone on the team knows Y/N best, it'd be you, considering you two shared a room.”
Fucking Steve.
Wanda takes a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. She finally glances up to meet Daisy's eyes, her expression guarded. “What do you want to know?”
“Is Y/N... you know, single? And what do you think of them?”
Wanda's eyebrows shoot up, her eyes sharpening immediately. She places the knife down on the countertop with more force than necessary. “Why do you ask?”
Sam whistles softly, making it obvious he's eavesdropping. “Damn, getting intense over here,” he comments with a grin, making no effort to hide his amusement.
Daisy shoots him an exasperated look, but there's a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. “Trying to have a conversation here, Wilson.”
Ignoring Sam's teasing, Wanda presses, “I just want to know why you're asking.”
Daisy sighs, rubbing the back of her neck. “We've been talking a lot, and I was just... curious.”
Sam, not missing a beat, chimes in, “Curious or interested?"
Daisy rolls her eyes. "Nosy much?"
Wanda reaches for the shredder and starts grating all the remaining vegetables rather aggressively.
Sam laughs before lifting the spatula to his lips to sample the soup he’s making. “Just trying to get the lay of the land.”
“Why don't you focus on your soup, Sam?” Wanda retorts, though her eyes never leave her task.
Sam smirks, catching the hint of jealousy in Wanda's tone, and decides to push just a little further. “You know, Wanda, if you have something to say about Y/N, now's the time.”
Wanda's eyes flash red for a brief moment. Sam holds his hands up in mock surrender, but the smirk doesn’t leave his face.
Daisy looks between them in confusion.
Taking a moment, Wanda sets the shredder aside and faces Daisy squarely. “Y/N almost risked their life to save mine. If you're looking for a testament to their character, well, actions like that are rare to come by.”
“And as for Y/N’s relationship status,” she continues, a bit reluctantly, “I believe they're single.”
Daisy's gaze becomes gentle, a dreamy quality entering her eyes. “That's... truly heroic,” she whispers, almost to herself. Wanda feels a sudden urge to throw up.
She then flashes a grateful smile at Wanda. “Thanks, Wanda. That means a lot coming from you.”
Wanda merely nods before clearing her throat. “Well, now that that's settled, could someone pass the salt?”
It’s Sam who hands it over, but not before saying, “Try not to add too much. We wouldn't want dinner to be as salty as some people's moods.”
-
Tony is, unsurprisingly, first in line, eagerly eyeing the roasted vegetables. “If the taste is half as good as the smell, we’re in for a treat tonight.”
Steve chuckles, replying, “I think we can trust Wanda and Sam's culinary skills by now.”
Natasha and Clint are engrossed in a deep conversation about an upcoming mission, while Bruce discusses some new upgrades with Tony. Vision, for his part, is explaining to Peter the intricacies of using Wanda's food processor.
As the chatter continues, Wanda moves to retrieve the centerpiece of the dinner: a golden-brown roasted chicken. She feels everyone's eyes on her, awaiting the moment the chicken will land on the table. However, her gaze is involuntarily drawn to the table where she sees you and Daisy sitting next to each other, laughing about something.
In that split second of distraction, her fingers graze the scalding metal rack of the oven. A sharp hiss escapes her lips, the sudden pain evident on her face. Dropping the oven mitts, she mutters a quick “Excuse me” and dashes off to the nearest bathroom, intending to run the burnt area under cold water.
You notice her quick exit and, after a brief moment of hesitation, quietly follow her. As you near the bathroom, the sound of running water reaches your ears.
Without knocking, you enter. Wanda is cradling her hand, trying to soothe the burn.
Your voice is soft with concern when you speak, “Wanda? Let me help.”
Wanda quickly pulls her hand away from the water, her eyes widening as she registers your arrival. “I’m fine,” she snaps, her posture tensing further. Water drips from her fingers onto the porcelain sink.
You take a hesitant step forward, your intent clear. “I can heal it. Just let me—”
“I said I'm fine,” she interrupts, her voice sharp. “Sometimes it's good to feel pain, you know, heal the natural way. Not everything needs a... quick fix.” She glances pointedly at you, an obvious jab at your abilities.
Your eyes narrow slightly at her comment, but you keep your emotions in check. “It's not about the quick fix, Wanda. It's about helping someone in pain, even if that someone is stubbornly pushing everyone away.”
She sighs, her defenses visibly waning. “Why are you even here? Shouldn't you be out there with Daisy?”
“What’s Daisy got to do with any of this?”
Wanda bites the inside of her cheek, averting her gaze. Even if she has an answer ready, she's not sure she'd want to voice it.
With a sharp exhale, your frustration bubbles over.
“Fine,” you say tersely, pointing at her burned hand. “Let it scar then. See if I care.”
Moving swiftly, you leave the bathroom without waiting for her response.
Wanda stays there for a few minutes, taking deep breaths and trying to steady herself. When she finally decides to rejoin the team for dinner, she notices the empty spot beside Daisy. You're gone, probably to your room.
Regret coils in her stomach. She didn’t mean for things to escalate like that, especially when all you were trying to do was help.
-
She hasn't felt this anxious in a long time.
It reminds her of the days after she lost everything that truly mattered.
Checking that everyone is probably asleep, Wanda takes a deep breath and heads towards your room. Her mind races, trying to figure out what to say, how to apologize.
She stops in front of your room and then gently raps on the door, listening intently for any sign of movement inside. “Y/N?” she calls out hesitantly. She doesn't expect the door to open immediately, and when it does, it's not you who answers.
Instead, Daisy stands there, looking a little startled too.
“You…” Wanda hisses slowly before she can catch herself.
Daisy quickly registers Wanda's reaction and raises her hands in a placating manner. “Oh, right. Sorry, this must be weird. My apartment had a plumbing issue, a flood actually. Since I'm joining the team permanently, I made a request for a new room. But until that's sorted, Y/N offered me theirs.”
Wanda's insides churn with a jealousy she can't quite place, but she masks it swiftly, painting on a polite smile. “And where's Y/N now?” she asks, her voice deceptively calm.
Daisy bites her lip, appearing somewhat embarrassed. “They're asleep,” she admits. Stepping aside, she reveals you, nestled in a makeshift bed on the floor, blankets arranged around you for some semblance of comfort.
Wanda's eyes soften at the sight of you, but her heart also tightens in anger. You've given up your bed, your comfort, for Daisy. You’re doing for someone else what she’s done for you. It feels like an invasion of something she thought she exclusively shared with you.
Daisy shifts, catching Wanda's stare. “They wouldn’t listen to me,” she explains, a bit embarrassed. “Kept saying it's fine and that I should take the bed.”
Wanda just nods, a tightness in her voice. “Sounds like them, alright.”
Trying to ease the tension, Daisy adds, “Y/N always talks about you, you know. In a good way. Maybe you two should just... chat.”
Wanda raises an eyebrow, a little surprised. “They do?”
Daisy chuckles. "Yeah. Anyway, I'll leave you to it. Night."
“Night,” Wanda murmurs, still looking at you.
Once Daisy’s gone, Wanda hesitates. Part of her wants to barge in, shake you awake, and have that long overdue talk. Instead, she absentmindedly touches the burn on her hand, its sting a reminder of how you tried to help her earlier. It's jarring to think that you, even after avoiding each other for days, were ready to heal her.
And damn, it hurts. Not the burn, but the realization of how much she misses you.
-
Wanda doesn’t get any chances to talk to you for the next several days because you–along with Natasha, Daisy and Vision are called away to a mission.
Each day you’re away, Wanda feels the weight of anxiety pressing down on her chest. She can’t help but worry, replaying every worst-case scenario in her mind. She catches herself multiple times pacing by the control room, asking for updates, or staring out at the landing pad, waiting for the quinjet to return.
When word finally arrives that the quinjet is en route back to the compound, Wanda finds herself in the hangar before she’s even consciously made the decision to be there. Steve stands next to her, his face betraying his own relief. A few other team members have gathered too, all awaiting the return of their comrades.
The roar of the quinjet’s engines fills the air as it makes its descent. As the ramp lowers, Wanda's eyes scan the disembarking figures, and they lock onto yours. You look a little worn, a fresh bruise marring your cheek—oddly enough, one you've chosen not to heal. But beyond that, you seem okay.
Her heart swells with relief.
You seem to pause for a second, looking genuinely shocked to see Wanda amongst those waiting. For a moment, your eyes lock. She offers a tentative smile, full of hope, and it seems you're about to approach her. But then, as you step further out of the quinjet, Daisy appears at your side. The way she comfortably intertwines her fingers with yours sends a sharp pang through Wanda's heart and her smile falters.
Steve claps his hands together, attempting to reign in the team's focus. “Alright, debrief. How did it go?”
Natasha, with a deadpan expression, shoots back, “Could’ve gone smoother if you’d packed me a flask, Rogers.”
Steve smirks, shaking his head. “Alright, Romanoff. Just don’t make us wait too long.”
As you approach Wanda, your expression gives away nothing. “Hey,” you murmur, voice neutral. But Wanda’s eyes have darted down to where your hand is connected with Daisy's. Her eyes harden, and when she meets your gaze, they’ve become unreceptive.
Misreading the tightening of Wanda's features as coldness, your frown deepens. You'd thought some time apart might've helped ease the strain between you two, but guess not.
Just as you're about to say something to her–maybe an explanation as to why you’re holding Daisy’s hand–Daisy gives a playful tug on your hand, breaking the moment. “Come on,” she chirps. “Let's head in. I heard there's pizza, and I intend to eat more slices than you.”
You allow Daisy to pull you along, throwing one last glance at Wanda over your shoulder, wishing she'd say something–anything.
But Wanda's back is already turned to you. Her posture rigid, fists clenched at her sides, the knuckles going white. In that moment, Wanda is making a silent vow to herself, one of emotional self-preservation.
She walks away, her heels clicking against the ground with each firm and decisive step. Deep down, the walls she'd slowly been dismantling brick by brick in the face of a potential future with you were being hastily reconstructed.
She’s survived worse things.
Of course, she’ll survive you.

A hit on the ground
Tumblr media
Wandanat x Bioquake x Bobbi x reader
Plot: Daisy, Bobbi and Reader get kidnapped…what could happen worse than that? OFC, Jemma, Natasha and Wanda have to save them.
TW: concussion (?), death of the villain :)
The darkness around you prevents you from seeing anything. A grimace distorts your face as the stabbing pain in your head makes you nauseous as you try not to close your eyes.
"Y/n, hey, hey, don't close your eyes, love."
You see the shadow of a familiar face over yours and loving hands on your cheeks; Daisy's voice rings in your ears as the inhuman checks your head for signs of injury.
"I think you have a concussion. They disabled my powers with this collar," you can't see her well because of the darkness, but you imagine her touching something around her neck, "and they sedated Bobbi with an ICER before they knocked you out, right after you ran to her. Bobbi hasn't woken up yet."
A dim light illuminates the room you are in; it is a small, drab, gray cell, the concrete floor cold to your touch. Your attention is focused on the face of the soulmate above you. Daisy has a deep cut on her cheek, and your hand instinctively reaches up to trace the edges with your thumb.
" It's a bad cut, Dee."
You push forward, trying to sit up, but Daisy stops you; your current weakness does not allow you to break free of her grip.
"Be still, I'm no doctor, but I don't think you should get up with a concussion, not until I'm sure you're okay."
Daisy is about to speak again, but the sound of a snort and the shuffling of clothes makes you both turn to your blonde soulmate. Bobbi blinks a few times, sits up, and then quickly drags herself to your side as soon as she notices Daisy holding your head in her hands with a worried look on her face.
"What happened? Where are we? Are you okay?"
Bobbi speaks so fast that you can barely understand her. You take her hand and draw circles on her palm, addressing her with a small smile.
"We're fine, Splendor...Hydra set a trap for us; they shot you with an ICER and blocked Dee's powers. How are you feeling?"
Bobbi shrugs and looks at you, her hands instantly replacing Daisy's as she carefully checks your head wound.
"Damn...are you dizzy? Vertigo? Nausea? Headache? Loss of memory?"
You shake your head, lying through your teeth, before sitting up with the help of the two girls. Bobbi doesn't take her eyes off you; Daisy, however, has her gaze fixed on the cell door as she furiously scratches her neck, just above the collar.
"Dee, stop scratching or you'll hurt yourself."
You elbow her in the arm and the inhuman stops, a small pout on her lips. The movement you make causes you more pain than you already feel. Your head throbs and the nausea you've been feeling increases exponentially; suddenly you're so weak that you lurch forward dangerously, and if it weren't for Bobbi, your face would hit the ground.
"Hey! Rockstar, are you okay? Y/n!"
Bobbi pulls your hair away from your face, and when she sees your half-closed eyes, she slaps your cheeks lightly, trying to keep you awake.
"No love, you need to stay awake."
Daisy whispers, checking your heart rate and exchanging a worried look with the blonde girl. You flinch and run a hand over your cut, trying in vain to ease the pain you're feeling. Bobbi and Daisy are talking to you, but you can't really understand what they're saying.
"We need to get her to Jemma, I think she's getting worse."
Bobbi says, putting a hand to your forehead to check your temperature as she glances at the cell door.
"I need to get this damn collar off."
Inhuman tries to force it off your neck before Bobbi stops her.
"It's no use Daisy, stop before you get hurt...Y/n, hey, you need to keep your eyes open. I know it's hard, but you have to do it for us."
Bobbi pulls you up by your armpits, pulling you into an upright position, and you let out a small moan as your head dangles forward before Bobbi rests it on her chest, helping to keep it upright before you pull away from her to put the little food back in your stomach, inches from your girls.
"It hurts," you whine, unaware that she is saying it out loud on purpose, and Bobbi grabs you before you can fall into the puddle of vomit in front of you, backing away a few steps and continuing to hold you.
"I know, honey, it will pass soon. I promise you. Just try to hold on a little longer, okay?" Bobbi gently caresses your face and gives you a small, worried smile.
Daisy moves nervously back and forth in the small cell, perhaps making a furrow for strength and continuity of movement.
"We need to find a way out of here, did you see anything while we were unconscious?"
Bobbi turns to the inhuman and curls her lips in frustration when he shakes his head.
"I was hooded, but I think we're dealing with him, Bobs."
Daisy's voice trembles slightly, though the girl does everything she can to keep you both from hearing it as she continues her frantic pace. You quickly realize who he is talking about, and just as the realization hits you, the cell door swings open, and though the dizziness and confusion caused by the concussion does not help, you immediately recognize the face that crosses the threshold, an irritated grin plastered on his face.
Grant Ward wrinkles his nose at the stench of vomit that hits him as soon as he opens the door, but that only adds to the stupid grin he wears.
"Y/n, I see you hit your head pretty hard...I'd say I'm sorry, but after all, you're the one who took away the love of my life, so no, I'm not sorry at all. It's good to see you again, ladies."
They look away. Kara's death weighs on your hands, but after what she and the piece of shit in front of you had done to Bobbi... you really had no choice. So you grit your teeth and force yourself to put on your best slap face. Out of the corner of your eye you see Bobbi shaking her head and Daisy telling you to stop bullshitting with your lip.
"Oh Ward, please, she's much happier now that she's away from you, and if you hadn't been such a coward to leave her, you'd probably be where she is now."
You regret your words as soon as the two gorillas behind Ward hold Daisy and Bobbi down and the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent's fist slams into your right cheek with such force that, added to the weakness from the concussion, it knocks you to the ground, and this time, as your head slams violently against the floor, your eyes remain closed after the impact and your girls' hearts stop as they realize you've lost consciousness.
"You fucking bastard!" Daisy screams and Bobbi, blinded by the sight of you on the floor, struggles against the energetic man holding her down and you manage to break free, using the moment to steal the remote control Ward is clutching in his right hand and press the small button above it. A click echoes through the cell before Daisy's collar falls to the floor with a resounding thud.
"Now you're fucked, you bastard." Daisy breaks the bones of the gorilla holding her before turning to face the traitor.
Ward backs away, raising his hands and smiling at the two very angry officers. Daisy raises her right hand and points it at him.
"Any last words?" Daisy smiles, and even though her stomach is churning with concern for you, she tries not to let it show.
Bobbi sees Ward grab the gun with a lightning snap, and before either of them can even try to stop him, he grabs your body by the costume suit as he puts the gun to your temple. Despite the abrupt movement, you remain unconscious and your head falls forward.
"One step and I'll put a bullet in her head and damn it, I'm just waiting for one more reason to do it..."
Bobbi wants to scream and slap that arrogant grin off her face, but your life is in danger and she can't afford to make a misstep and she's damn scared.
"I strongly suggest you put the gun down," Bobbi says, stopping herself from jumping for his neck. You look at Daisy out of the corner of your eye and see that even the Inhuman is holding back from breaking every bone in his body.
When you return to consciousness, your instincts tell you not to open your eyes and to let your body remain soft in the grip of someone you do not recognize, at least not yet until he opens his mouth. Memories come flooding back to you and it takes very little time to realize that the cold object pressed against your temple is a gun.
"You know, I have the advantage here and..." Ward begins to speak and before you lose consciousness again, you throw yourself to the ground, catching him off guard and dragging the Hydra spy with you; your sudden movement causes him to lose his grip on the gun, which slips out of his hand, and as soon as that happens, Daisy uses her powers to throw him against the wall, knocking him unconscious. Bobbi leans over you and takes your face in her hands. No matter how hard you try to stay awake, your eyes close without you being able to stop them.
"No, no, Rockstar, you have to stay awake. Y/n please."
Bobbi screams your name as your eyes roll back and your nose begins to bleed. Drops of blood slide down your chin, starting at your nose, and Bobbi is forced to move you to the side to keep you from suffocating in your own blood, continuing to call your name to wake you up.
"Bobbi, what... what... Bobbi, Bobbi, someone is coming, we have to get out of here!"
Daisy restrains herself from screaming, keeping her arms pointed at the half-closed door of the cell, ready to break the bones of anyone who enters through it, never looking away from you. And then, when the door opens to reveal the familiar face of your other three soul mates, Daisy wants to cry with relief.
"Did I step on your moment?" Natasha flashes her best sarcastic smile, but it quickly fades when she sees the state you are in.
Jemma falls to your side, as do the other girls, just after Wanda casts a restraining spell on the door. The first aid kit slips from Jemma's shoulders and falls to the floor with a resounding thud before the sound of a zipper being unzipped rattles their eardrums.
"Bobbi, I need to know what happened."
Jemma says, her doctor's voice not leaving her for a moment as she rummages through her pockets before pulling out a small flashlight, and while Bobbi explains to her what happened, the biochemist checks your parameters with Daisy. She takes your face in her hands and opens your eyelids with her index finger and thumb, checking the dilation of your pupils.
"The right pupil is very dilated, we need to get you to the lab. I need a CT scan and..."
Jemma struggles to control her voice, trying not to shake it as she slips a collar around your neck to keep your head still before her eyes fall on the blood crusted under your nose. Her eyes widen as she notices it, and the fear and worry she has been trying to hold in until now rises to the surface.
"No, no, we need to get her out of here right now - we shouldn't even be moving her, she could be bleeding internally. The nosebleed..."
Before Jemma can finish her sentence, Wanda walks over to you and places both hands on your temples as thin strands of red magic encircle your forehead and after a few seconds you open your eyes. You flinch as the light in the room stings your head, not that it doesn't hurt disgustingly on its own. Nausea hits you as soon as you open your eyes, as does the dizziness that makes you feel as if you are on a boat in the middle of the waves, even though you are lying down. You are so confused and in so much pain that you cannot even speak or understand where you are.
"W-Ward-H-Hydra, not--"
Disjointed and confused words leave your lips; you are not thinking clearly, you cannot even make out the faces of your girls, and in fact, you are not even really aware that they are there with you.
"Y/n, hey, it's gonna be okay, Ward's out, you're gonna be okay, okay? Stay awake okay?"
Jemma uses the flashlight again, pointing it at your pupils. You raise your hand, obviously lacking a flashlight given your current lack of communication, to ward off this annoying source of light that only increases the pain you feel.
"Love, stay still, we need to check you - Wanda, Nat, Daisy contact May and tell her to release the medical capsule." Jemma holds your head so you can't move it for any reason.
"Jem, we can't bring the capsule here. We are in a Hydra base and..."
"Natalia, we really have no choice. We shouldn't even move it in this condition."
Natasha bites her lower lip as Jemma's determined whisper forces her to nod and activate communications. The widow takes a few steps away and informs May that one of her charges is badly injured and needs immediate attention.
Wanda brushes a strand of hair away from your face and your heart misses a beat as red stains her fingers. Fatigue hits you and you can no longer keep your eyelids open.
"No stubborn idiot, you have to hold on a few more minutes please. Open your fucking eyes y/n" Daisy uses her powers to vibrate your hand; it causes you slight discomfort, but enough to make you open your eyes. You look at her confusedly with glazed eyes, and Daisy's stomach drops when she notices that even though you're looking at her, you don't even seem to notice that she's there.
"Jemma, Jemma what's wrong? Y/n, love, look at me. Can you hear me?"
You don't move, you don't do anything, even your eyes don't move, and your girls' hearts sink. Jemma checks your pulse, while Bobbi prepares the stretcher Fitz designed for situations like yours. It is so small that, thanks to the nanomaterials it is made of, it can easily be carried in a first-aid kit, yet it is as strong as an ordinary steel stretcher.
Jemma notices the spasms in your hand and the small contractions in your right leg, and for a second, panic takes over before you become a doctor again and not one of your soul mates.
"She's having a seizure; we need to get her to the Quinjet as soon as the seizure stops. Daisy, time the crisis; Bobbi, inject her with diazepam..."
"It's okay y/n, we're here with you, we won't leave you. You can get through this, love."
Wanda holds your head still and the other girls do as Jemma tells them. Natasha glances at the biochemist and when your seizure ends they quickly move you to the gurney and the little moan of pain from your lips makes them breathe a sigh of relief because it means you are at least conscious.
"What do we do with him?" Daisy says, pointing at Ward with a nod of her head, but never taking her eyes off you.
Natasha takes a deep breath, then draws her gun and points it at the scum that has been your nightmare for the past few years. Bobbi, Daisy, Wanda and Jemma nod and then they think back and look at what it has done to you, Daisy's betrayal, Jemma being thrown into the sea, the trauma it has caused Bobbi... A gunshot echoes in the cell and after a few seconds the girls think of the only thing they care about right now and as they prepare to get you out of there the nightmare that has haunted you for years finally lies on the floor with a hole in its forehead.
Wanda and Natasha stand in front of you; Daisy and Bobbi take the stretcher while Jemma keeps checking your vitals.
"May is waiting for us, the pod just hit the ground, the corridor is clear," Natasha raises her gun, her finger brushing the trigger as she leaves the cell you were locked in. After five minutes and one less magazine, you enter the small capsule as a shower of bullets is stopped by Wanda and Daisy's powers, then the doors close and the capsule begins to rise. Jemma and Bobbi set you up on the cot in the middle of the medical pod, while the other girls step aside and push against the walls so they can work out of the way. Bobbi lifts the bed rails as soon as Jemma finishes connecting the various monitors on the walls to your vital signs. Your suit has been cut open and your chest is exposed, your bra the only covering besides the three electrodes the two doctors have been busy attaching to you.
"I hate heights."
Wanda sighs, closes her eyes, and slides to the floor with her back against the wall.
Natasha kneels at her side, wrapping her arms around her sides and planting a kiss on her temple.
"We know Malyshka."
......................................................................................................
It takes a week for your brain to begin healing, and another three days for your body to open your eyes for the first time.
You blink four times before your eyes adjust to the dim light in the room and take a full twenty seconds to realize where you are. You've never liked the medical capsule, especially considering the number of times you've woken up in it. Your limbs feel as heavy as boulders, and from the dryness of your throat, you deduce that you have been unconscious for more than a few hours.
You look around, and although you didn't notice them at first, your soul mates are sitting around your bed. Wanda and Jemma are lying in each other's arms on a makeshift cot by your side, while Bobbi, Natasha, and Daisy are sitting in three chairs close together, their heads resting inhumanly on both the wall and your bed.
You lift your hand, struggling much harder than expected, and place it on Daisy's head, stroking her hair. A slight headache makes your temples throbbing, but you don't mind, and as you continue to run your fingers over your friend's silky hair, memories come flooding back, and Ward's cultured imprint is forced upon your mind, making you wince and wonder if the girls made it out unscathed. You look at them, and except for a small bandage on Daisy's cheek where she cut herself, you notice nothing out of place.
Your hand movement is interrupted by a small part of the Inhuman's head. Daisy's eyes narrow as she lifts her head from the comfortable pillow the blankets had made for her, and after focusing on the smile on your lips, sleep seems to vanish in a flash as she jumps on your neck and hugs you with all the strength she possesses.
"We were so afraid you wouldn't wake up - don't ever do that to us again."
Daisy whispers, filling your face with kisses. Awakened by the noise of the Inhuman, even the other girls take a few seconds to realize that you are finally awake, and soon you are attacked by a sandwich hug.
"Don't ever do this to us again, Malyshka."
"You had us so scared detka,"
"Hey Rockstar, it's about time you woke up. It's been ten days since we've seen those beautiful eyes."
Bobbi leans over and plants a kiss on your forehead. You open your mouth to speak, and when the words you thought you had come out garbled and stuttered, you frown. Jemma gives you a reassuring smile, but then tightens her lips. You all know she only does that when she has bad news to tell.
"We've induced a medically induced coma for seven days to allow your brain to heal from the concussion, so you'll have to go into rehab for a few months...I know it's frustrating, y/n, but it's necessary for you to heal properly, and you really have no choice in the matter."
Jemma speaks slowly, punctuating each word with a look that doesn't allow for an answer, and from the looks on your girls' faces you realize that this time you won't be able to avoid the doctor's orders.
You smile and roll your eyes as you nod slowly, afraid that the pain in your head will get worse. You reach out to them, motioning for them to hug you again, and they do.
You try to say "I love you", but the words don't come out of your mouth, but Wanda smiles at you, leaves a sweet kiss on your lips and whispers against them, "We love you too, detka. Rest now, it will be very long weeks".
You close your eyes with a smile still on your lips, and although the road ahead is long, you have a feeling that you will be able to rest easy; strangely, your soulmate instinct tells you that Ward will no longer be a problem. How strange...
Thanks for reading! Two updates in one week, let's talk about it. Anyway, leave a like, comment and if you feel like it, support me on ko-fi. I remind you that applications are always open and have a nice day!

Back and Forth - masterlist
Pairing: Steve Rogers x agent! Inhuman!reader
Type: enemies-ish to lovers series
Summary: Calling yourself an Avenger would be overstatement, even if you have been joining them on missions quite frequently lately. Calling them your friends would be an overstatement also. Calling you and Steve Rogers friends, now that would be an insult to the entity of friendship – though unlike him, you have enough self-awareness to admit that he isn't the only one to blame for that. Most of the time anyway.
However, the Avengers need your abilities and so you and Steve tolerate each other – or at least you’re trying, your back and forth visibly annoying your colleagues and exhausting you both.
And then you’re thrown into a situation where mere tolerance isn’t an option. That should end well, shouldn’t it?

Characters to appear: Steve Rogers, ‘reader’, Natasha Romanoff, Bucky Barnes, Tony Stark, Sam Wilson, mentions of Phil Coulson, Daisy Johnson and few others
Setting: slight AU 'cause everyone lives thank you very much, no Civil War or further, references to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D without a fixed timeline
Warnings: besides canon-typical violence, this series deals with topics which might be trigerring for some people - please, read with caution and resposibility

Can u either do Nat x Reader oneshots, or Clint x Reader oneshots.
And have a powered reader, with gravity manipulation
(seriously best power ever ngl)
Of course I shall, mi amor, I'll do whatever your heart desires. I'll be starting off with Natasha first!
Tumblr media
If I am being totally honest, you kind of didn't know what to think of Natasha Romanoff at the begining.
I mean how could you? She came up to you with her beautiful red hair and amazing voice.
You didn't know what to do!
But Natasha knew exactly what to think of you from the start.
Fury had told her exactly what you deal was and why you were there in the Avengers just like her.
You worked with Bobbi Morse, and when she went undercover at Hyrda... you did as well. But you didn't make it out.
A year later, a girl named Daisy Johnson pulled you out, and well the mess you had been undone to, wasn't pretty.
When you became even the slightest upset everything around you seemed to drop to the floor, people, animals, picture frames, food, the list went on.
So when you found out that SHIELD wanted more from you, that they wanted you to join the fucking Avengers?
"There ain't a chance in high Hades I'm going ANYWHERE, with you." Is exactly what you screamed at the poor intern assigned to picking you up.
... There's a chance that you may or may not have pushed him twenty feet away from you with a flick of your wrist very soon afterwards.
So Natasha came next.
Well, after an hour of... talking, you joined, and let me tell you, the ammount of god damn JOKES Tony made about you 'Shaking his world.' made you want to drop him through his building to the bottom floor, no scratch that, through the bottom floor.
When Natasha asked you out, it was- something to say the least.
Nat at 3 a.m: *Knocks on your door* You opening the door yawning: What the fuck- Nat quickly looking at a spot on the wall behind you: Do you want to go out yes, or no? You tired out of your mind: Sure? Nat: *slams door*
When you did start going out Clint and Tony made about a million bets (Who'd kiss the other first, etc.)
You did, you kissed her first, (cue sounds of Clint clapping in the background and Tony crying) and it seemed to be the only thing that kept your emotions in tact
Natasha loved you, she loved the way you looked at her, the way your mouth smiled, she loved each of your scars, she loved you, and that meant every part.
Now here comes the true oneshot time.
You were not a cuddler, but surprisingly, Natasha was, after the redroom and all that time with Drakov, and not truly ever knowing the way a loving touch felt, meant she loved whenever you held her, or whenever your shoulder brushed hers, any simple touch, made her so happy.
Natasha had a tiny secret, which was that she loved cooking, her best memories where when she was younger with Yelena, and her parents were at work so she'd cook up something special for her younger sister, but you on the other hand, were terrible at cooking, the one time Clint tried to convice you, you got so pissed off the entire refrigator began floating and getting suspiciously taller then Cint.
Nightmares were a common thing between the two of you, but on days were it was truly terrible, the entire bed would lift off the ground and you'd scream these horrible words, and when you woke up? All you'd do was stare at your hands and rock back and forth.
Natasha's nightmares on the other hand were always silent, but you weren't used to silent, the tower was always bustling even at nightime, no matter if it was the familiar pang on the window as Tony's pet project The Spider would come in to repair his suit, or if Clint was pacing in the vents, or if Thor and Loki were fighting over Uno... again, or if Steve and Bucky were sparring with Wanda, and finally Natasha's familiar snore, it was soft, but whenever it stopped you woke up quickly. When she woke up it was different, she'd wave you worried hands away and tell you nothing happened.
When you guys fought, it was deathly silent, aside from the gentle hum of raw energy in the air. If she was to blame you'd just stare at her and with a whisper of despair all you'd manage was "Why?" and if you were at fault you'd get the cold shoulder, she'd change bedrooms, and wouldn't tell you what you did wrong.
she proposed because god knows your not risking rejection from the god damn black widow of all people
Now it is Clint's turn.
Tumblr media
He screamed at you the first time you met.
Okay let me explain.
You had walked into the compound on your first day after a workout session at the gym, and it had been fucking four in the morning (You had sleep issues), and he was just laying half in-half out of the vents, and when his half opened eyes saw you...
Well he screamed.
Loudly.
Surprised by the action, a chunk of the wall fell down and you cursed, and made the concrete rise back into its place in the wall, and you stitched it together, Clint watching you silently the whole time.
When you finish, you give him a slight glare and walk off
Hes in love
Your hot, powerful, and hate him??? literally on his knees
He fell first, and he fell hard.
You didn't fall in love till around age of ultron.(at least that is what you told him)
But you ask him out first, and you do it at the worst time possible.
*during a fight* You as you bring down a building with a snap of your fingers: Just curious, you free saturday? Him blowing up some bad guys with his arrows: Yes- why? You: We're going on a date then and just wanted to make sure.
... does natasha give you the shovel talk?
...kinda...??
one night you go to bed and wake up somewhere in the middle of isreal tied up with a large piece of paper sitting in front of you that says "fucking watch yourself."
and then y'know, u quicly become besties... somehow
clint hates it (but he likes that it makes you both seem brighter)
now heres the real oneshots
he's not the best with kids, but you are, yet kids make you worried
the first date is a movie and dinner
he doesn't visit your part of the tower till the fifth date ;)
after the loki incident and even before that nightmares were common with clint, he was even more paranoid the nat
there was a gun underneath his pillow, a smoke bomb on the dresser, a comprresed bow and 15 arrows in a basket by the bed
and ofc his gravity girl <3
(thats ur name on his phone)
(his name on urs is: hawkie xo)
he loves cooking, like it borderlines crazy,
"hey babe, do you want to go out tonight cause i dont wanna cook?"
clint crashing out of the vents screaming his head off: FUCK NO. IM ABOUT TO MAKE THE MOST SCRUMPTIOUS SHIT YOU'VE EVER TASTED
and then- and then somehow he does??
your a super big hugger, but he's not.
none of the avengers have noticed the fact u 2 r dating
steve catches the signs though
he notices the way you 2 act after rough missions
You had been ignoring everyone on the way home, the avengers has went after a sex trafficking ring and you had stumbled on a room full of what the children called 'the miss behaviors' it was a room full of twenty-three children dead, with one bullet in their heads.
Now you sat in the kitchen your head in your hands. "What can't the big bad, Gravitas, deal with it?" Clint teased. "Fuck you, Barton." You hissed at him, about to stalk upstairs. "Wow, the great Gravitas can handle everything but emotions can't she?" He laughed at you and Tony was about to tell him to screw off, but Natasha grabbed Tony's arm and shook her head.
Suddenly a kitchen knife flew at Clint and he deflected it quickly. "Oh come on, such a cry baby." He smiled wide and joyfull. You were standing in the hallway shaking quietly and when you turned around you were smiling.
You were fucking pissed. You launched yourself at him, and the entire compound shook. But Clint didn't return any of your punches. He either took them or blocked them.
Finally you just stood there, your fists clenched. "Come on gravity girl. You'll be alright." He whispers.
Then... you break.

🌻 Trope challenge 🌻
I love you (Daisy Johnson x reader) | Friends to lovers | 16/10/2023
Two kinds of love.
Elevator (Wanda Maximoff x reader) | Forced proximity | 17/10/2023
Feelings are terrifying.
The stars (Carol Danvers x reader) | Second chance romance | 22/10/2023
I see my lover when I look at the stars.
(Kate Bishop x reader) | Hurt/comfort | date to be announced
Summary will be added later
Game day (Natasha Romanoff x reader) | Football player x cheerleader | 12/11/2023
Put your game face on.
Second trope challenge!
This’ll work the same way as the first one, so the next part is entirely in your hands! Comment down below or send an ask which character you’d like to be part of which trope. The characters can be women from the fandoms I’ve written from before. You can also request characters I haven’t written before and from series/movies I haven’t written before! I will do the decision based on how many wishes that character gets and in a way that many tropes don’t have the same characters.
I’ll keep updating this post when the characters get chosen, summaries and stories get written, and when I know which date they’ll be posted. Thank you and enjoy! :)
All posts regarding this will be under #upat4amwiththemoon trope challenge
