What No One Tells You About Writing Fantasy
Every author has their preferred genres. I love fantasy and sci-fi, but began with historical fiction. I hated all the research that historical fiction demands and thought, if I build my own world, no research required.
Boy, was I wrong.
So to anyone dipping their toe into fantasy/sci-fi, here’s seven things I wish I knew about the genres before I committed to writing for them.
1. You still have to research. Everything.
If you want any of your fantasy battle sequences, or your space ships, or your droids and robots, or your fictional government and fictional politics to read at all believable.
In sci-fi, you research astronomy, robotics, politics, political science, history, engineering, anthropology. In fantasy, you have to research historical battle tactics, geography, real-world mythology, folklore, and fairytales, and much of it overlaps with science fiction.
I say you *have to* assuming you want your work to be original and unique and stand out from the crowd. Fanfic writers put in the research for a 30k word smut fic, you can and will have to research for your original work.
2. Naming everything gets exhausting
I hate coming up with new names, especially when I write worlds and places divorced from Earthly customs and can’t rely on Earthly naming conventions. You have to name all your characters, all your towns, villages, cities, realms, kingdoms, planets, galaxies, star systems.
You have to name your rebel faction, your imperial government, significant battles. Your spaceships, your fantasy companies and organizations, your magic system, made-up MacGuffins, androids, computer programs. The list goes on and on and on.
And you have to do it all without it sounding and reading ridiculous and unpronounceable, or racist. Your fantasy realms have to have believable naming patterns. It. Gets. Exhausting.
3. It will never read like you’re watching a movie
Do you know how fast movies can cut between scenes? Movies can balance five plotlines at once all converging with rapid edits, without losing their audience. Sometimes single lines of dialogue, or single wordless shots are all a scene gets before it cuts. If you try to replicate that by head-hopping around, you will make a mess.
It’s perfectly fine to write like you’re watching a movie, but you can’t rely on visual tricks to get your point across when all you have is text on a page – like slow mo, lens flares, epically lit cinematic shots, or the aforementioned rapid edits.
It doesn’t have to, nor should it, look like a movie. Books existed long before film, so don’t let yourself get caught up in how ~cinematic~ it may or may not look.
4. Your space opera will be compared to Star Wars and Star Trek
And your fairy epic will be compared to Tinkerbell, your vampires to Twilight, your zombies to The Walking Dead, Shaun of the Dead, World War Z. Your wizards and witches and any whisper of a fantasy school for fantasy children will be compared to Harry Potter. Your high fantasy adventure will be compared to Lord of the Rings.
You can’t avoid it, but you can avoid doing it to yourself. When people ask about your book, let them say “oh, you mean like Star Wars” to which you then can say, kind of, except XYZ happens in my book. These IPs will never fade from the public consciousness, not while you exist to read this post, at least, but Harry Potter isn’t the only urban fantasy out there. Lord of the Rings isn’t the only high fantasy. Star Wars isn’t the only space opera.
Yours will be on the shelves right next to them, soon enough, and who knows? You might dethrone them.
5. Your world-building is an iceberg, and your book is the tip
I don’t pay for any of those programs that help you organize your book and mythos. I write exclusively on Apple Notes, MS Word, and Google Suite (and all are free to me). I have folders on Apple Notes with more words inside them than the books they’re written for.
If you try to cram an entire college textbook’s worth of content into your novel, you will have left zero room for actual story. The same goes for all the research you did, all the hours slaving away for just a few details and strings of dialogue.
There’s a balance, no matter how dense your story is. If you really want to include all those extra details, slap some appendices at the end. Commission some maps.
6. The gatekeeping for fantasy and sci-fi is still very real
Pen names and pseudonyms exist for a reason. A female author writing fantasy that isn’t just a backdrop for romance? You have a harder battle ahead of you than your male counterparts, at least in the US. And even then, your female protagonist will be scrutinized and torn apart.
She’ll either be too girly or not girly enough, too sexy, or not sexy enough. She’ll be called a Mary Sue, a radical feminist mouthpiece, some woke propaganda. Every action she takes will be criticized as unrealistic and if she has fans who are girls, they will be mocked, too.
If you have queer characters, characters of color, they won’t be good enough, they won’t please everyone, and someone will still call you a bigot. A lot of someones will still call you a bigot.
Do your due diligence and hire your army of sensitivity readers and listen to them, but you cannot please everyone, so might as well write to please yourself. You’re the one who will have to read it a thousand times until it’s published.
7. Your “original” idea has been done before, and that’s okay
Stories have been told since before language evolved. The sum of the parts of your novel may be original, but even then, it’s colored by the media you’ve consumed. And that’s okay!
How many Cinderella stories are there? How many high fantasies? How many books about werewolves and witches and vampires? Gods and goddesses and celestial beings? Fairies and dragons and trolls? Aliens, robots, alien robots? Romeo and Juliette? Superheroes and mutants?
Zombies may be the avenue through which you tell your story, but it’s not *just* about zombies, is it? It’s about the characters who battle them, the endurance of the human spirit, or the end of an era, the death of a nation. So don’t get discouraged, everyone before you and everyone after will have written someone on the backs of what came before and it still feels new.

How did the SOLAR SYSTEM form?
instagram
Our story starts about 4.6 billion years ago, with a wispy cloud of stellar dust.
This cloud was part of a bigger cloud called a nebula.
At some point, the cloud collapsed—possibly because the shockwave of a nearby exploding star caused it to compress.
When it collapsed, it fell in on itself, creating a disk of material surrounding it.
Finally the pressure caused by the material was so great that hydrogen atoms began to fuse into helium, releasing a tremendous amount of energy. Our Sun was born!
Even though the Sun gobbled up more than 99% of all the stuff in this disk, there was still some material left over.
Bits of this material clumped together because of gravity. Big objects collided with bigger objects, forming still bigger objects. Finally some of these objects became big enough to be spheres—these spheres became planets and dwarf planets.
Rocky planets, like Earth, formed near the Sun, because icy and gaseous material couldn’t survive close to all that heat.
Gas and icy stuff collected further away, creating the gas and ice giants.
And like that, the solar system as we know it today was formed.
There are still leftover remains of the early days though.
Asteroids in the asteroid belt are the bits and pieces of the early solar system that could never quite form a planet.
Way off in the outer reaches of the solar system are comets. These icy bits haven’t changed much at all since the formation of the solar system.
In fact, it is the study of asteroids and comets that allows scientists to piece together this whole long story.

The first thing one must learn about the Eldar is that they are a race of fragments, broken and scattered across the galaxy. In culture, geography and technology, the disparate elements of the Eldar race vary wildly. Even within a single sub-race (the so-called kindreds of the Craftworld Eldar, Exodites, 'Dark' Eldar and the mysterious Harlequins) there is great diversity of tradition and attitude

Lower Decks Theory: Boimler lived on Risa for a while
I think Boimler enlisted when the Dominion War broke out and was assigned to Risa at some sort of desk job. It would explain why he and Mariner seem to be about the same age but she has way more practical experience; while she was on the frontlines on Deep Space 9 (presumably as a senior cadet either who was either mobilized or volunteered, since we see in the 2009 movie that cadets can be sent into active-duty during out breaks of war) he would have been doing paperwork at the Galaxy’s R&R hotspot, and then afterwards gone through the Academy to get officer status.
That would make him about three years younger than Mariner and their timelines would line up perfectly: they would both spend two years in active service during the war (2373-2375), and then he would go back to the Academy for another four years for officer training (’75-’79) and then two more years as an ensign on the Cerritos (’79-’81), while she would spend the same time serving on “five different starships” (’75-’81) before getting sent to the Cerritos.
It would also explain why he apparently prefers “jamaharon” (a Risa-specific sex practice mentioned by the Anabaj who tries to seduce him in Episode 2), knows what a horga'hn is when Riker and Troi are talking about it on the Titan, and is able to at least passably fake his way through Ransom’s Hawai’ian-themed party but only uses “generic island stuff” as conversation topics, since presumably Risa and Hawai’i have similar geographies but different cultures.
(It also makes the fact that he’s allergic to sand even funnier.)

Chapter 33: Contentment
Tumblr media
During the Clone Wars, the Bad Batch is tasked with a variety of missions across the galaxy. An unexpected addition to their team throws a wrench in the mix, particularly for Tech, who finds a particular connection with this disillusioned Padawan-turned-mechanic named Vel throughout the events in this action-adventure romance. COVER ART BY @zaana!!
Master List of Chapters
Tumblr media
A gentle breeze ruffled the waves of Vel's hair across her face, blurring her vision of what lay before her. She knew there were plenty of planets that she'd never heard of, but how a place like this had remained off the radar, she didn't know. Bendego was relatively small, with geography that ranged from snowy peaks to verdant valleys covered with a plethora of flora and fauna of every possible shape, size, and color. There were rivers everywhere, running down from the mountains through lush forests and grassy plains, all the way to the sea where it joined the sparkling blue waves and disappeared into the horizon.
It had been an agricultural farming community for generations, made up of a variety of sentient species that were mostly human or humanoid in nature. They held a deep respect for their planet and lived in vibrant harmony with it, cultivating it and caring for it to the best of their abilities and appreciating the beauty and sustenance it produced. Technology was minimal, yet the towns scattered across its surface worked in diligent cooperation and always had precisely what they needed to enjoy a simple, fruitful life. There was a prevailing spirit of contentment and curiosity, propelled by the bountiful resources that seemed to evolve and change regularly.
Tech had not only thoroughly researched all of the options but had somehow communicated with local leaders to secure a variety of potential careers and regions on the planet that would be attractive for each member of his family. They'd arrived to a warm welcome and had spent a number of days exploring the entire planet, visiting towns and villages with different needs, environments, and structures. As Tech had predicted, there was a fitting place for everyone, and since the world was so much smaller than most they'd been to, it was a short flight even between villages on opposite sides of the planet. With the war coming to a sudden end and the complete uproar in the Core Worlds, there was plenty of military equipment that no one was paying attention to, so the cargo ship and handful of LA-ATs that came to Bendego with the clones weren't missed.
"What do you think?" Tech asked, coming to stand beside her, following her gaze. They were standing on a grassy knoll at the edge of a village, watching the sun dip below the mountains. It was an older star than the ones that illuminated many of the other planets they'd been on, resulting in a larger, more reddish glow when it kissed the horizon each day. The atmosphere here was also a little thicker, and clouds of virtually every color were always dappled across the sky, impossibly large and fluffy. Grassy hills rolled away from them in gentle curves until they reached the forest that nestled along the base of the mountains. A large river wove its way through it all, continuing past the village until it disappeared out of sight.
"This entire planet is incredibly beautiful," Vel breathed, tears springing to her eyes unbidden. From Corellia to Coruscant, she'd spent most of her time on industrial, urban, gray planets, yet her heart had always yearned for nature. She'd held it in her heart from childhood, soaking it up whenever she could, and now, on a world where there was nothing but vibrant life in all directions, she felt as though her chest were about to burst.
"It appears to have an emotional effect?" Tech observed, ending with a question in his tone to invite her to share. She brushed the backs of her hands across her eyes quickly, turning to him with a closed-mouth smile.
"Overwhelming joy," she identified. "Disbelief. Awe. Excitement. Contentment. A nagging, foreboding sense that this cannot possibly be real... And yet undeniable evidence all around me that yes, it actually is real."
"That is an impressive variety of feelings to experience simultaneously," he responded, stepping closer as some of his "research", namely an archaic romance novel, popped into his mind. He gently turned her back to face the view, snuggling his torso against her back and wrapping his arms around her waist. His armor was safely tucked away on the ship, and he'd even relinquished his lifelong hold on the black base layers in favor of a simple, cream-colored henley shirt and dark brown pants. The utility belt was a permanent fixture, however, containing a variety of pouches and a holster for his blaster. His sleeves were pushed up to his elbows, and Vel relaxed her head against his cheek, heart thrilling as she caressed his forearms and relished his snug embrace.
"You are amazing," she murmured, feeling his chest swell a tiny bit at the praise. "I can't believe you found a place so perfect for everyone." She drifted off, considering all of the areas they had visited. They had talked about building a life together, but it had seemed hypothetical and distant. Now, the potential was staring them in the face, but neither had made any deliberate invitations or comments about it.
"I have something to show you," Tech said quietly, pressing a kiss to her hair as he pulled away, holding out his hand for her to take. They began a leisurely walk through the meadow, following a small path that looked as though it had been worn by the deer-like creatures that frequented the area. There was barely enough room for them to walk side by side without the soft grasses brushing their calves, but when the river came into view, it widened as it followed the curves of the bank. Passing into the trees now, the fading light was beginning to make it difficult to see.
The rushing water provided a soothing background hum to the sounds of the birds coming out for the night and the wind rustling through the tall trees. The ground was soft underfoot, and Vel's senses were delighted with the cool evening air, the scent of wood and earth, and the lushness of the forest all around. The warmth of Tech's hand around hers made it all that much better, and she gave his hand a squeeze of appreciation as they continued. He seemed to know where he was going, and this time she didn't question it, having been so enthralled with his stargazing surprise.
After another minute, a faint glow appeared, and Vel furrowed her brow, squinting a little in the dim light to better see what it was. Old habits stirred up a sense of fear in her, but as she took a deep breath and Tech cast a quick glance at her, she realized there was no need for that here. The dense trees opened up into a small clearing, where a quaint cottage came into view, warm light pouring from its windows and casting a golden glow all around. Lazy wisps of smoke drifted up from the stacked-stone chimney, dancing in the dusk until disappearing into the tree canopy.
Tech stopped at the foot of the stone stairs that led up to a small wooden porch wrapping around the front and side of the cottage. He turned to face Vel, taking both her hands in his, and met her gaze with a soulful expression in his amber eyes.
"I... apologize... if I have overstepped," he began, and her mind was racing as quickly as her heart was pounding. "But I took a calculated risk based on all the data I could consider." He swallowed, looking down and brushing his thumbs across her knuckles before continuing. "The villagers here are working to create a central ecological database. They have been compiling their information by hand. They expressed great interest when I suggested some methods to streamline the process and organize the material more efficiently."
Vel's eyes were wide, fixed on his with eager hope. It took all her patience to avoid blurting out questions that she knew he would soon get to. But she felt as though her entire life were about to fall into place. Finally.
"I immediately thought of your delight on Kashyyyk, and the way the geological cache and arboreal variety seemed to captivate you so... It brought you to life in a way that I have not yet seen anything else even come close to. I thought you might find great joy and lasting fulfillment in such an endeavor, and the comfort and location of this dwelling only solidified my inclination."
"Tech. What are you saying?" she asked, shaking inside as she smiled broadly at him.
"This is your home, if you wish to accept," he said finally, a softness in his eyes. "I believe you will be... happy... and that is my utmost priority."
"But..." Vel hesitated, considering a significant piece of missing information that brought her down from her euphoria for a moment. "Just... my home?" She shifted on her feet, tilting her head at him with the further questions remaining unspoken. A tiny smile danced at the corners of Tech's lips, and he heaved a great sigh.
"It would appear that this is the only living structure currently available in this area," he said slowly, slight twitches betraying his effort to keep a straight face.
"Tech..." she prodded, squeezing his hands and pulling him closer, arms now resting straight to where their hands met below their waists. "You're toying with me."
"I would never," he said flatly, biting his lip and dropping his eyes to the side. He seemed to be mulling something over. He took another deep breath and lifted his head back to hers, resolute now as he gazed into her eyes. Vel had been about to tease, but the intensity of his face stole the words from her mouth. His chin dropped a bit as he cast a glance to her lips, tilting his head slightly and leaning in to share an unfathomably tender kiss. He lingered for a moment before pulling away with a satisfied hum.
"Vel... While I have suspected it for quite some time, it is impossible to quantify and therefore entirely subjective in measure... It is also not at all within any realm of the purposes for which I was created and engineered, and yet it appears to be a human experience of which I am capable... Not only capable, but... assuredly entrenched. We are all starting over, in a way – crafting our lives from the basest elements. And while there are many factors that are both necessary and desirable, there is only one upon which I wish to build."
He gently dropped her hands from his own, moving instead to settle one on her hip and to affectionately caress the side of her face with the other. She closed her eyes for the briefest of seconds, leaning into his touch and committing his words to memory. It was as though she could hear what was coming, and she wanted to soak up every single moment of it.
"I love you," said Tech, voice suddenly quavering a tiny bit. "I am in love with you. I love almost everything about you."
Vel laughed, happy tears crowding her eyelashes again. "Almost? That's fair..." She felt her heart swell in her chest, completely enamored with his eternal factuality.
"Inaccuracy is not permissible simply for the sake of emotional effect," Tech murmured, bringing his forehead an inch lower, his nose nearly touching hers. "Therefore, considering the magnitude of both my commitment and connection to you, I would be most honored if you would allow me to make your provision, your safety, your fulfillment, and your happiness my utmost priority."
"I don't even know what you're asking, but that sounds fantastic," Vel giggled, her voice a broken whisper as a single tear escaped down her cheek, brushed away gently by his thumb. She looked up at him, enamored by the complete fullness of his presence. He was both intentional and vulnerable, leading and inviting.
"I am asking you to build a life with me, together in this home, upon the foundation of a mutual love we share for one another. That is, if it is something you hold–" Now it was her turn to kiss him, slipping her arms around his waist and pulling him against her as much as she could. She pressed a smiling kiss to his mouth, breathing heavily through her nose from the absolute thrill that was cascading over her.
"You have my whole heart, Tech," she said against his lips, her voice pitchy and breathless with emotion. She felt him smile against her as well, and his arms wrapped around her shoulders firmly, turning his head to the side to hold her close in a warm embrace. She could feel his heartbeat through his shirt, pressed against her own, and she cupped the back of his neck, caressing it with eager fingers. When they separated, cheeks flushed and eyes brimming with emotion, he gave her a small nod, taking her hand and leading her up the steps to the cottage. He touched the doorknob and paused, looking back to her.
"You didn't exactly say–"
"I love you!" she exclaimed, being unable to do anything else but laugh. She was in complete bliss, and the way his face reacted to her proclamation was yet another image she wanted to treasure forever. It was a mixture of relief and gratitude, affection and excitement, and finally settled into a simple, peaceful smile.
"Excellent. I believe you will enjoy what awaits us inside."
"I believe I will."

Humans as Lovecraftian horrors
Invader Zim fic idea I’m probably not going to write, because I don’t have the time, but that I think about from time to time.
Lovecraftian horror pastiche with planet Earth as the incomprehensible horror that one does not talk about.
Magic exists in the IZ universe, that has been established, but what if magic and supernatural exists only on Earth. There are countless alien cultures around the cosmos and none of them have ghost stories. Funeral rites, if they exists, are only held for the benefit of the living left to mourn. The closest they get to religion is an intense veneration and mythologisation of leaders or mortal heroes, but the concept of supernatural deities or adjacent creatures does not exist. Children are cautioned against scientific dangers, not of boogeymen. The concept of supernatural simply isn’t something that the rest of cosmos comprehends ast all. And why would they, it doesn’t exist for them.
Expect, there is one corner of space, with a planet that is talked about only in the most obscure texts, and hesitantly even in those. planet that is...dangerous, in a way that nobody has the words to properly explain. Scientists have sometimes ventured there, and all came back (if they came back) changed. Encountering something that shattered their view of reality so fundementally that it drove most of them mad. Some ambitious empires have tried taking the planet for themselves, and every single one had gotten sucked into a chain of events that have crumbled the entire empire. It is a planet which cannot be encountered safely, nevermind whether you are a humble scientist or a great millitary force.
Because the whispers that tell of the planet, talk about species that cannot die. You kill their body and something called a spirit might be left behind to create destruction to those that killed its body. Or sometimes the dead body just gets back up, and it gets back up worse. There are creatures that can do something called magic, which is a bit like science but not at all and wrong. Oh, so very, very wrong. And it’s not just a planet, because somehow there are several places of existence folded all over another in a way that defies sanity, places the natives call hell, or faerie, or heaven, or afterlife, or ancestral plane, or otherworld, or..well, they have a lot of those. None of the poor raving mad creatures trying to explain what they encountered have been able to really explain the overlapping and folded geography of the place the earthlings seem to exists in so comfrotably.
Meanwhile humans are blissfully unaware of the fact that they are the monster the rest of galaxy is terrified will one day awake from its slumber and decide to take over all known galaxy and spread their reality-bending insanity to the rest of the universe.
Because humans are born amids all this weirdness, they are also born resistant. When a human house gets haunted, it is most of the time a nuisance at best. Humans are able to summon and use an array of supernatural creatures, from demons to gods, with risks yes, but also with results. They use magic to and against each other all the time, with zero results most of the time, because your average earthling is insanely immune to powers of magic. Like a cockoroaches born in nuclear waste. And on top of their natural immunity, almost all earthlings are taught the basic rules of supernatural from the cradle. Fairy-tales, cautionary tales, cultural rituals, spooky stories, superstitions. All earthlings, even if they don’t believe in magic, know the very most basic rules of how to deal with monsters and magic.
But aliens are not.
One moderate sorcerer can, and has, taken down entire alien armies. If a kidnapped human dies on a spaceship, nobody on that ship will survive the haunting. And it will spread. A human might not even notice a curse cast against them, but the same curse can and will take down entrie alien civilisations. Humans might be able to defend themselves against vampires and demons and fairies, but aliens cannot. You give an alien a crucifix and it’s just a piece of metal in its hands. Do you think they have Earth-made iron? No.
There is knowledge of planet Earth. It is the only real ghost story the rest of the universe has. A place so eldritch, scholars keep debating in circles what could be the rational explanation for a place like that existing. Maybe there is no planet, just a black hole that emits insanity-causing radiation. Maybe it is just best that nobody ever goes there.
Planet Earth is not named on any respectable space-maps, but it is always included. Either as a do not go here sign, or as sticky note at the edge of your invasion plan, just for caution’s sake (this is the first superstition the universe has formed: always include Earth on a map, never name it.) And you might send someone you want to die out there, hoping they get sucked into a black hole. (or worse, but your scientific alien mind doesn’t really know how to shape that thought, of wanting to send someone to...hell?)
Expect Zim doesn’t dissapear. He keeps reporting back from the...from that place. Unchanging, just as he always was. No matter how many times you disable the connection (there was no connection to begin with) no matter how faraway you are, how much you use the resources of the entire empire to block those calls, they keep coming through. Calls from an irken who you sent to die, calls from a place you only ever heard as a scary story (the only scary story) in the dark. And he keeps talking about it like it is all normal. Like he thrives there. Talks about a native who dapples in casual magic and of fighting him and surviving. Of meeting cryptids and entities that have flattened empires schmillions of years ago and surviving.
And that...is when you learn about fear. And the looming mountain of maddness always dancing at the edge of your mind. Was Zim always a creature whose true place of belonging was that place, or did he adapt?

History and Geography of Magix
Many millennia ago, the Great Dragon created a Galaxy which contained multiple planetary systems. One of which was the Magic Dimension – a solar system with two suns and one inhabitable planet – Magix.
The Dragon went to rest on that planet, split up its magic into ten parts and scattered them across the globe. They stabilized into Magical Cores which had great impact on their surroundings.
The first people evolved close to the Core of the Essence of Magic. But as more time passed people began to leave the city and move to build cities around other Magical Cores. Those would grow to be kingdoms, with their capital closest to each core.
When the Great Dragon felt the end of its life was nearing, it decided to give up the Dragon Flame to a powerful Mage, which tuned her into the first Fairy and Keeper of the Flame. And when the Dragon did its last breath the magic which was left within it flowed down to the Lands Between, where it still keeps moving and not taking shape. Thus, turning the area into wildlands in which magic is either controlled by strong magic users, or rather impalpable to unexperienced ones.
The First Fairy created a Golden Kingdom, purely made of Magic, above the biggest lake of the lands. It was also where she was killed by her three sisters, the first witches. They trapped her spirit inside the kingdom and put a curse on it, to keep it untouched by time.
As they were gaining more and more power, they reached immortality. However, their spirits could be removed from their bodies. Those got destroyed and their spirits imprisoned in the deepest trench of Omega – Oblivion.
The country with the Golden Kingdom was named in honor of the first Fairy – Arcadia. The grounds were decided to be neutral and it turned into a place where everyone of every kingdom could come to and be save.
Years later a group of powerful magic users came together to create another Magical Core on an island, which was still unpopulated. They created a new society, which worked very different when compared to the nine kingdoms.
Tumblr media
Thousands of years later the three witches were still able to cause mayhem on Magix. They destroyed Domino through the hands of a young Wizard, turning the kingdom into an icy land. Most Dominians fell under that curse, only a few could escape.
At the same time they send a Witch to destroy Jotunn. The landmass melted down into the ocean and most citizens fled to continue their lives in other kingdoms.
Tumblr media
Arcadia is the magical as well as political hotspot of the planet. It's a picturesque landscape with lush green plains and evergreen forests. In the middle of it is the biggest lake of the lands and above that lake floats the Golden Kingdom of the first Fairy. Its capital is Magix City. Andros is a small tropical landmass with a chain of more than 75.000 islands, which look as if an undersea reef were stripped of its water - a vast landscape like that of the ocean floor. Many species of coral grow across steep cliffs with dangerous depths. The shores if those islands have golden sand and the sea shimmers silverly. The main island and capital of the kingdom is Tides. This kingdom shares its Magical Core with the underwater queendom Nereia. Callisto is the land with the highest mountains, steepest cliffs and more than 20.000 floating islands. Its capital Asteria is on the largest sky island. Domino was a warm kingdom. The main landmass is of cooled down lava from volcanoes. Only two of which remain to be active. The capitol is between those two – Sparks. Eraklyon has wide lands with a stony terrain and a lot of sharp, crystalline stalagmites, where next to nothing can grow. Its capital is Diamond. The kingdom shares its Magical Core with an underground kingdom – Downland, which is a large system of caves. Jotunn was a landmass of pure ice. Nowadays there is only a small iceberg left. Glacia, the former capital, was built around it. Linphea has the densest and darkest Forests, as well as the prettiest and most exotic flora. Its capital is Marigold. Melody is a place of Harmony and Music – even the wind whispers a melody. It is a mostly wet and hilly landmass, where every plant has red leaves. The capital is called Harmonia. Pyros is a mostly swampy area which turns into a jungle as one gets closer to Linphea. It is also known as Lands Between or Wildlands. Serenia is a place of storms and wild weather. So, it always looks kind of destroyed. It's the smallest kingdom of Magix and has Aurai as its capital. Solaria is a desert with many oases. It's the biggest kingdom even though it is split up into multiple smaller cities. The largest one is the capital, Luminae. Zenith was always cold but by now it is even colder. A big part of the landmass got destroyed when Jotunn was wiped out. There is not one patch of grass within this land, as it's all been built over. The temperature was cooled down to keep the technology running as efficiently as possible. It is the land which is societally and technologically the most advanced. Its capital is Titania.
Omega doesn't have a Magical Core and is the place on Magix where magic is the weakest. It is a small island group in the middle of the deepest part of the ocean. But there is also an even deeper frozen dry trench - Oblivion, in which an Ice Serpent lives. It's the place where the most dangerous criminals get imprisoned.

get to know me tag 🌻
@sugarcoated-lame my darling🧡 thank you so much for the tag 🥰
1. were you named after anyone?
i'm pretty sure y'all can guess my real name, but yeah, i was. my name means "she who will rise again," which was neat, because my parents read about an American Indian woman who worked closely with an ethnologist to record hundreds of hours tapes cataloging her tribe's language. a language that no one spoke, until a cardboard box containing those tapes was found in the Smithsonian Institution the year before i was born. my parents loved the name and were blown away by the story.
2. when was the last time you cried?
two days ago, it's been a rough month
3. do you have kids?
no kids, but i do have a fur baby 🥹 ditto, Kricket
4. what sports do you play/have you played?
i did dance and gymnastics a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. 🩰 after that, i played basketball and softball in middle school, and volleyball from middle to high school. 🏀🥎🏐
5. do you use sarcasm?
at this point, i'm pretty sure it's a coping mechanism for me.
6. what’s the first thing you notice about people?
smile first, then eyes (mostly because i'm nearsighted, so eyes are a little harder)
7. what’s your eye color?
hazel, i guess. they're green on the outside and brown on the inside.
8. scary movies or happy endings?
happy endings, for sure. i'm too chicken for scary movies 🐔 and i like to feel happy 💖
9. any talents?
Kicket, babe, i feel like we're kind of the same person.
i can sing, and if i'm comfortable enough with you, i'll sing along to things in your presence. i used to take voice lessons and do musical theater, but since my anxiety developed later, that's a big no-go nowadays. i'm also a solid advice-giver (but i can't take my own), and i used to stress-bake a TON in university. i suppose i'm pretty good at random trivia! and i'm okay at painting, but i only really do it at those paint and sip places lol.
10. where were you born?
Orange County, California 🍊
11. what are your hobbies?
again, same person, different font
PUZZLES!!! reading, watching movies, singing, baking, thrifting, playing video games (i'm a sucker for the Nancy Drew mystery games). i'm trying to get better at cooking. i used to do creative writing and write poems, but i haven't in a very long time. i feel like i should try to get back into that. and like i said, paint and sip is also fun lol
12. do you have any pets?
at the moment, my sister has a pittie mix named Moose, we've got a lovebird named Peach, and a tortoise (African desert maybe?) named Shelley (we didn't name him). we lost my sweet girl Bell and my baby boy Percy not too long ago 💔💔
13. how tall are you?
5'2" i'm almost pocket-sized!
14. favorite subject in school?
English and Social Studies (history, geography, psych, etc.)
15. dream job?
this is gonna sound insane, but ever since i was 11, i've always wanted to work for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). it sounds squirrely, but long story short, i started watching NCIS and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation around that age, and i just got SO interested in criminology and forensics.
no pressure tags: @lewmagoo @laracrofted @seresinhangmanjake @withahappyrefrain @roosterforme @ohtobeleah @mamachasesmayhem @bobgasm @bobfloydsbabe @attaboylew @attapullman @mjskeletons661 @lostinthefandoms11 @pinkdaisies1106 @mandylove1000 I’m a little late to this so sorry if you’ve already done it 🧡
