Desperate Villain Danny AU
(this is a 17 yr old danny)
It started out slowly.
First, a few of Danny's less active Rouges stopped showing up at all. He didn't really notice, and just assumed that they had finally had their Fill of their Obsession for a while and would simmer down for a bit.
Then, some more of his Rouges stopped showing up. No big deal, but he is getting a little concerned for them. They had definitely not had their fill of their Obsessions yet, why did they stop?
Then, the worst started happen. All of his actual Ghost Friends start to disappear. Ember, Kitty, Johnny, even Amorpho, they all start to not show up at all in the Living World.
He goes looking for them in Realms, but he can't find any of them whatsoever. He tries asking around, but everybody else noticed the disappearances much earlier than him and began to hide away from whatever was taking all of the strong Ghosts. He can't find anybody, and the ones he does find won't tell him anything (or don't know themselves)
It takes weeks of searching, but eventually he gets his answer.
The GIW show up in Amity again after a period of absolutely no activity. They have stepped up their operations HARD. Advanced Ghost Hunting Equipment, Much more Competent Agents, and most worrying of all, they seem to know that Phantom is friends with Sam, Tucker, and Danny Fenton.
The GIW comes to his house for a Meeting with his parents, where he overhears them offering his parents a position in their Organization as Head Scientists. While there they also manage to plant Bugs in Danny's room somehow. Although he finds them quickly enough and destroys them.
And then, one night during dinner while his parents are ranting about the GIWs Labs, they mention something that cinches it for Danny.
"And today we even got to Dissect one of the Spooks! It was that Mind Controlly one, you know the one with the blue firey hair stuff that sang a bunch! We're going back tomorrow to continue our Study, this time we'll see how long it'll pretend to experience pain before it decides to give up on tricking us!"
That night, Danny packed up all his things, destroyed the Ghost Portal alongside everything else in his parents Lab, and left his house.
He tracked down the GIW Base, saved Ember from her Cell, and decimated the surrounding Area. No survivors, none of the research is preserved, and he left the Site Director alive to question him.
Turns out, the GIW had managed to Reverse Engineer the Ghost Portal from that brief period of time where they had taken control of Fenton Works. They had been using their own Portal to kidnap any Ghost they could get their hands on. Using the research from those subjects, they perfected their Ghost Hunting Tech and started going after the bigger fish.
"But good luck finding it, Ecto Scum! The Portals location was hidden to everybody, even me!" He said.
"Where are the others!" Danny cried. He was losing control of his appearance by this point. After seeing what they had done to Ember, he was too angry to maintain his Humanoid Form successfully. Even now, with most of his control, he could hear the Static in the air around him, and see the Glitching of his hands as they clenched this Monsters clothes.
"Scattered!" He said with a crazed laugh, "We knew we couldn't contain all of them, so we send them to all of our sites across the Country! You'll never find them!"
Without another word, Danny plowed his arm through the man's chest.
He turned around, picking up Embers weakened Body, before beginning his long flight to Wisconsin. Vlad still owed him a few Favors after all, and honestly his mentorship offers seemed VERY Tempting right now.
(Why reject him if you don't care about keeping your dad alive anymore?)
...
The JLA had recently received a distress signal from somewhere in the middle of some random Forest in Illinois, but when they got to the location, all they found was a crater filled with the ruins of some kind of Military Base, and so so many Bodies.
They had managed to figure out that this was a Government Site owned by an organization called the GIW. A Paranormal Investigation Wing of the Government focused on the study and capture of Supernatural Beings called Ecto-Entities, otherwise referred to as Ghosts.
As it turns out, an Ecto-Entity that had been terrorizing the local town for a few years now had made a drastic change in normal behavior and had attacked the GIW Base that had been posted there.
They would have destroyed it years ago, but this one was unnaturally powerful. It had eluded their capture and terrorized the Town for years, but they had too much pride to contact the JLA and admit that they needed help. And honestly until now, they didn't really need it. The Entity had been entirely confined to the singular town, and had not strayed from that behavioral Pattern in the 3 years since it's inital sighting. They had made the difficult choice to leave it there, sacrificing one town in exchange for the rest of the country.
But now they did need their help. This Entity, this Phantom, was one of the most powerful beings that had ever recorded, maybe even The Most Powerful. The fact that it had left the Secluded town it usually frequented meant that it was loose to wreak havoc across the rest of the world.
The JLA Needed to Find this thing, and Fast.

Across My Memories
......
.....
-hums Once Upon a December-
Ghost Prince!Jason.
..... ghost prince!Jason where when Jason died instead of waking up in his own door room (headcanon doors are private rooms all ghosts gain once dead, its their safe spot, rooms can expand into lairs if the ghost gets strong enough) he wakes up in the Ghost King gardens.
He's found and taken to (older) King Danny who takes one look at the newborn baby ghost, (verbally) rips into his guards for manhandling a baby, and offers Jason a place to stay while they try to locate his room so he can recover and stable his core. (That's why ghosts stay in their rooms upon being made until they're strong enough to leave and venture out, Jason is advised not to run off since they have no idea where his room is and Danny being King of the Realm can basically substitute the ectoplasm needed to stable him just by being around Jason)
Over time and Jason slowly learning to trust Danny, Danny starts treating Jason unknowingly like a son and Jason slowly sees Danny as another dad (only less emotionally constipated (Bruce) or abusive (Willis))
Everyone in the Kingdom knows it too, but since Danny hasn't made it official they don't call Jason 'Prince' or 'Young Master' instead they call him 'Favored Star' and 'Starlight' since Danny adores space and stars and the Ghosts honor Jason with those title's.
They realize that they've been treating each other as family when Jazz comes to visit and points it out. Danny freaks out for a moment before going to talk to Jason, whose been hoarding himself in the royal library. They talk, Jason freaks a bit (maybe runs off trying to figure out his own emotions over it. Doesn't want to get hurt again by a 'father figure' again, maybe gets in trouble? Or runs into Jazz and talks about it to her)
Eventually Danny decides to make it official and Jason becomes Prince Jason of the Infinite Realms. Everyone is excited, and a huge ball is thrown in Jason’s honor. Its a night Jason keeps close to his core because once the ball is over, Danny and Jason go sneaking into the kitchens to get some hot coco and goes into Danny’s study where Jason reads his favorite book out loud next to the fireplace while Danny works on some paperwork but is listening to the story.
Anyways since time in the Realms is weird that despite being dead for a small few years in the living Realm, Jason feels like many more years have passed in the Infinite Realm and because he’s been around Danny (and is Prince of the Realms) he has grown older (its why when he’s brought back he looked like the way he did when he died but was comatose, his ghost/soul didn’t match the body anymore and it isn’t until he’s tossed in the Pits that it corrects his body to match who he was now, its also why the Pit Madness stays with him for so long) Jason has grown into his role as a Prince and he’s happy with his (after)life (and has come to terms with many things in his life, thanks Auntie Jazz)
So when one day the Prince goes completely missing, to the point he can no longer be felt in its Realms, the Infinite Realm ‘awakens’ to the rage and worry of their King.
Meanwhile, Jason awakens underground in his coffin, dazed, confused, scared and crawls out of the ground, his soul/ghost despite being in its body isn’t attached correctly and thus his mind is blank, he’s alive but not really there. It isn’t until later when he’s tossed in the Pits and rage overtakes him that his soul/ghost is connected again, wrongly put together but connected at least. It isn’t until later when his core slowly tries fixing the rage/Pit Madness when he starts getting fuzzy and hazy memories of someplace he can no longer remember but wants to go back to, wants to find.
A sky of shifting shades of green, a castle with knights, a ball and dancing figures, the sound of a fireplace crackling and a pen scrawling across paper as the taste of hot coco phantoms its way in his memories.

thinking more about my idea where Artakha has mini versions of the Toa Mata made (Matoran-esque) for personality and neurological testing. they won't remember any of it when they're Toa but it's a test run for him to check some things
little Kopaka hates having any kind of testing done on him and is always aware of experiments. he keeps purposefully skewing results and acting against his impulses whenever Artakha tries to test him in a situation. Artakha takes this to mean that he's perfect
the Matoran on Artakha have gotten very used to peace and quiet and certain mini Toa Mata (one in particular) keep disrupting them... but then reminding them how to throw better parties
balancing Tahu's temper between the lines of "soft-hearted" and "insensibly filled with rage" takes SO many models. when Artakha settles on his final personality Kopaka looks at him like he's lost his mind
Gali gets annoyed with Artakha one day and just surfs out to the edge of the realm and won't come back in. it starts storming and she won't get off her board all day no matter what he tells her. on a similar note, Onua has been found digging straight down Minecraft style and getting himself stuck very contentedly miles below the surface
Pohatu loves living in Artakha and starts picking up every hobby the incredibly skilled craftsmen who live there will teach him
Karzahni hasn't quite lost it completely at this point in time, but when he comes to visit his brother, he's intensely jealous of the little life forms he has running around. he wants Artakha to make a Toa Mata for him too. the mini Mata are generally uncomfortable around him, but Pohatu makes an effort to befriend his uncle, which is when Artakha starts to feel that his creations are not safe around his brother. Karzahni is much too eager to have some company
Artakha tries the marshmallow test where you give a kid a treat and tell them that they can eat it now or wait and have another one later. Lewa and Tahu can't wait for a second one, Onua and Gali can. Kopaka, to Artakha's surprise, eats his immediately, and when Artakha asks if he couldn't be patient, Kopaka tells him he has much more important things to do. When Pohatu gets his second marshmallow, he offers it to Artakha
Artakha designs them carefully to balance each other out, and is very focused on the synthesis of the Kaita. Pohatu should energize Onua and Tahu, Tahu should call Onua and Pohatu to action, Onua should direct them both with a little more wisdom. Kopaka should be Wairuha's cold intellect, Gali should be their stability, and Lewa should be their verve and joy.
there is a point where he makes the Kaita too different from each other, and suddenly he's noticing Tahu sprinting across the hall to get away from Kopaka and Gali because they started prophesying at him while speaking at the same time again and he HATES that. Artakha brings them back down to earth a little
there's also a point where Onua studies and understands Artahka's plans and notes so thoroughly that he figures out exactly what his destiny will be. Artakha looks at him for a second and just goes "I'm going to turn you off now, Onua" and ok that's fair
it's very different for Artakha to have new creations running around, breaking things, causing fights, and getting into trouble when he's been used to nothing but Great Spirits and perfect Matoran for so long. he finds he doesn't mind it too much. when Lewa paints poorly over the masterpieces in the dining hall, Tahu and Gali break ancient weapons while "playing," and Onua gets mud all over the floors, Artakha leaves things messy.

“MC goes Buzzfeed Unsolved with the demon brothers while fucking with the entire human realm internet!” Part 1
CW: swearing. Lots of swearing, mentions of death/murder, all the typical stuff related to summoning entities, haunted places, live streaming, not proof read.
MC goes ghost hunting in the human realm
“What’s up everyone, it’s…around five in the afternoon, I just arrived at this abandoned school, which is said to be haunted by the students who were murdered by the janitor if they stayed too late. I heard about it from some people who went here before and so, I decided to check for myself! I got my ghost communicator with me, my camera, extra batteries and my camping gear, so we’re going to spend the night and see what happens!” MC turns the camera to the view ahead of them as they approach the school and takes some nice shots from the building as a whole. They decided to make it a live video instead of an edited one so all the raw footage would be there for everyone to see. It’s quite misty already as it’s fall, dead leaves scattered across the ground and the enormous trees stand leafless on the side of the concrete school walls. Once MC reaches the door, they slowly push it open, triggering the creaking sound. The chat is going crazy with anticipation and are asking them to explore the school.
“You guys ready to set up camp to spend the night?”
Chat enthusiastically tells them they’re all ready, before MC starts putting all of their stuff behind the secretary desk next to the school’s entrance.
“”Why do you always go by yourself?” I don’t really have a reason for that to be honest. Perhaps it’s because I don’t get scared easily? Hmm…I’m not even so sure myself. But the thrill of doing all this alone it probably what makes it worth doing these kind of livestreams!”
“Oi MC, is there really no way ya can just spend the holidays in Devildom?”
“I would have loved to, but I got to make the content too y’know. Don’t worry I’ll be back before you know it! In the mean time, why don’t you study up on the place I’m camping at? You gotta make it all believable for the humans to get a good scare.”
“I gotta say, you’re videos are way better than the series “I died while saving a cat from an incoming train and now I’m the guardian angel of a ghost hunter, but he believes I am an actual ghost so now I have to do ghosty things”, I can’t wait to see how your next video is going to turn out.”
“MC, don’t forget the promise about the food…”
“No worries Beel, I got you! When I travel back, I’ll make sure to pick up some additional fast food on the way.”
Looking back on their time in Devildom, they smile as they remember how the seven brothers and the Purgatory crew always tried to stall them from leaving. Making many promises to ensure their return and trying to become their favorite.
“Hmm…does the building still have electricity?” They mumble in wonder and plug in the charger of one of the battery chargers. A faint buzz can be heard, but surprisingly the building does have electricity.
“Oh right, I heard that in one of the classrooms a student got killed, there was said to be a drawing of a pentagram of some sort. I’m not sure if it was done by students themselves, as this building has been visited by other people or if some mad ass cult tried to summon Caspar the friendly ghost. But hey, if we can make use of that, why not try it out?”
To the rest of the human world, MC might be the craziest person in existence. Why would you giggle and bat your lashes in front of a possible demon, while filming with some tiny 4K camera for a living?
Chat is losing it and trying to predict any possible outcomes, some saying it’s a hoax while others try not to claim any evil energy.
MC is casually looking around the empty hallways that echo their footsteps as they proceed deeper inside the enormous building which was once a boarding school.
A sudden bonk makes MC jump and they look around to find any movement or clue about the source of the sound. When there is nothing but silence, they start discussing with chat what it could’ve possibly been. Some suggest something breaking, like a part of the vent, or perhaps something that fell from the wall. Some say it could just be a window or door slamming shut.
“A-alright, how about we go back to camp, eat something and perhaps I could tell you a fun story about the underworld, hmm?” MC won’t lie and say that was an unexpectedly scary moment, even for them.
“Y’know how I filmed with this other ghostuber a while back? I recently spoke to him again and he told me he completely stopped with the ghosthunting videos. He was way too freaked out when he went with me, holding his holy watergun and saying prayers. I guess encountering an actual demon was a but too much for him…do you think it was because I challenged the demon to take my soul? Mmh…? “Didn’t you sell your soul to capitalism?” Fuck you’re right, my poor wallet and my back, why must I suffer like this while I’m still so young!? Let’s not talk about the fucking minimum wage and the damn prices of homes! I’m sorry god, I said damn, won’t happen again, oh wait fuck I just said it the second time, nevermind…” the sudden sound of a door closing makes MC jump a little and they fall silent instantly, turning off their light and looking over their shoulder as they try to catch another sound to identify the presence of another person. The bang echoes through the building.
“God if that was you, I deserved that.” MC whispers, mentally apologizing to Simeon and Luke for provoking their lord, while chat is kekeing in the comments. They absolutely love to see their favorite ghoststreamer suffer. MC once tripped over absolutely nothing and the day after, people had made memes of them falling, spreading them all over the internet. Even the demon brothers got ahold of them and frequently use them in their groupchat. Mammon tried capitalizing on the meme, but failed as they were already everywhere. Took MC a week to get him out of his sulky mood about lost Grimm. But some cuddles made it better.
“Okay so this is the point where we start whispering, y’know…because now that it’s dark, there’s a big chance entities will start becoming active through the soul of those murdered students…” MC gulps quietly as they silence themselves to catch any sound. It is deadly quiet for a few moments until MC hears the faint sound of footsteps. They continue for a while and they dare to guess it comes from the stairway.
“Fuck…I think those were actual footsteps…it might be the ghost of the janitor…looking for anyone who is still up past curfew…” quickly turning off the light, they sneak a peek around the corner of the frontdesk, but they are met by an empty hallway with lockers on the side as usual. The sound has faded and it is as quiet as it was before.
“Shit, shit, shit, okay…we need to find a way to not run into the janitor…if it is the actual ghost. I have no idea how we’re going to be able to identify him, but I do know that the janitor’s room is on the second floor….”
“Ah there you are!”

anything to share from flowers in the palace verse? :3
(take a short preview of one of the upcoming oneshots!)
“I want to send Wei Ying to the Cloud Recesses with A-Cheng.”
Jiang Fengmian glances up from the kite he was painting.
“Why?” he asks, perplexed. “Her education has been more than satisfactory. If she went to the Cloud Recesses, she would find the lessons terribly dull: and you know how A-Ying hates to be bored with her lessons. Lan Qiren would be half out of his wits by the time she left.”
“Of that I have no doubt,” Ziyuan says drily. “But I have more practical intentions for this venture, if you will hear me out.”
He nods and lays down his brush. “What are they?”
“Wei Ying is nearly seventeen, and we have not yet found a bridegroom for her,” his wife explains, seating herself on the chair across from his. “A-Li’s future is assured, and A-Cheng will not take kindly to our meddling in his prospects—and he’ll make a more attractive husband after he passes the imperial exams, so we needn’t think of him now. But finding a suitable groom for A-Ying will be difficult, so why not send her to Lan Qiren’s academy and let her look for a bridegroom there?”
“It is a good idea,” muses Jiang Fengmian. “But A-Ying is still young. If the choice were left to me, I would not have her wed within these next five years at least; and I do not think she would agree to look for a bridegroom so soon, even if we asked her to.”
“I’m not going to ask her,” Ziyuan scoffs. “I already have a family in mind, and Wei Ying already has friends among the clan. She need not do anything more than secure one or two banquet invitations before the end of the lecture course, or drag a few of the boys into whatever mishap she will surely have planned for Lan Qiren.”
“Which family do you mean, my lady?”
“The Nie family. You know A-Ying cannot live in just any household, Fengmian: and now that I think on it, she will fare best in a military clan like the Nie. She has studied military history, and she can manage an estate upon a fraction of the budget it ought to have—and most importantly, no relation of Nie Huangyin’s would dare interfere with her schooling if she chose to stay on at Pan Gaolin’s academy after her wedding.”
“Neither would a Lan,” Jiang Fengmian points out. “Why not ask A-Ying to consider one of them?”
His wife scowls at him. “I want to inconvenience Lan Qiren, not kill him.”
“Very well,” he says, laughing. “Let it be as you say, then.”
“Good. Now, write to Qiren and tell him to prepare an extra place in the girls’ dormitory. Most likely, he will ask one of his nieces to look after her until she settles in; and if we're lucky, it will be the one betrothed to Nie Mingjue.”
So A-Ying goes off to the Cloud Recesses two weeks later, taking a box of A-Li’s baked sweets and a very apprehensive A-Cheng with her. To Ziyuan’s disappointment, Lan Xichen is too busy with her own duties to spend much time with Wei Ying; but three days after A-Ying’s departure, she sends Jiang Fengmian an exhilarated letter that appears to be almost entirely about Qiren’s younger niece, Lan Wangji.
“Well, that’s something,” Yu Ziyuan says slowly, when Jiang Fengmian reports to her office with the letter. “If Wei Ying has made friends with Lan Wangji, then she is sure to be welcome at the Unclean Realm after Lan-guniang and Nie Mingjue are married.”
Jiang Fengmian nods. The words of A-Ying’s letter are already fading from his mind, for he had received so many over the course of his travels throughout the country, but in later years—after his first daughter lost her betrothed, and after both she and her sister were shut away behind the high walls of the palace hougong where one of his mother’s distant cousins had taken her own life to escape her emperor husband—he would return to his study and open the old desk drawer devoted to his children’s keepsakes, and realize that the seeds of A-Ying’s true marriage had been planted beneath his very nose.
He and Ziyuan sent her off to find a husband, and in her dear, wild-hearted way—she found a wife instead.

Feeding Alligators 47 - Soul Jar
Decisions, decisions…and none of them good.
Tumblr media
Trigger warning: suicidal ideation.
On AO3.
You don’t look at nobody as y’all set up camp that afternoon. Wyll is moving and speaking, but still weak. Shadowheart monitors him between starting a campfire. Karlach hovers around, unable to settle in any one spot too long, either looking at him all anxious, or you with big, sad eyes.
Astarion fucks right off without saying a word to nobody. Hopefully he’s out hunting something.
And Lae’zel…
Gale is brewing what turns out to be the very last batch of blood potion. After everybody got settled in, and the mummy man just fucking emerged from the shadows to loiter at the edge of camp—Gale went over and had a long discussion with him. Must be nice to be able to look into the hollow sinus cavity of the guy you’re speaking to without screaming and flinching away. In the end, Withers does confirm the evil bottle will in fact hold your soul, so he starts prepping for whatever the fuck that entails. He wants you to guzzle down another blood potion right before, but supplies are running low, and Astarion ain’t here, and Lae’zel flat out refuses to help.
“The useless istik will live or die on her own strength,” she says, loud enough y’all catch it. “I will waste my time no more.”
Gale looks to you, but there ain’t shit you can do about it, so you just shrug. She’s right to cut you loose. You fucked that up and ran like a bitch. So much for being some kinda leader.
“I believe between Withers, Shadowheart, and myself,” Gale says, “we can successfully summon your soul to this plane and bind it here. We, ah, don’t have many other options.”
Because you got maybe three more blood potions left and then off your soul goes.
“Okay,” you say.
Gale looks at you. Squints slightly. There’s something to him, the stiff way he’s holding himself, that sets alarm bells clanging.
“What?” you say.
“I…I thought we would have more time to prepare,” he says. “Both to gather supplies, and to, well, to let you ready yourself.”
He’s waffling. You already feel like shit scraped off the heel of somebody’s boot. You don’t mean to snap, but your control and your manners are frayed. “Yeah, and? It there a point here?”
And the man looks at you with such grim pity, you’re sure he’s gonna say it ain’t gonna work.
“I’ve been researching on my own,” he says. “My sources are rather limited, but I did study soulwork and astral travel with, ah, anyway. I have full confidence we can do this, as long as you’re up to it. But you do understand that it requires magic to perform?”
He waits for an answer. Seems important, though you cannot fathom why.
“Uh huh?”
“If what you say is correct about your plane, Ay-yarth doesn’t have much, if any, access to the Weave, strange as that sounds to my ear.”
He stares. You stare back.
And it clicks. Oh how it clicks.
“I can’t just pop the cork on that jar if I get home, can I?” you say.
“There isn’t much theory in that field. It could very well settle into you again, as it’s meant to. It may be an instinctive thing, once you’re back in your own realm.”
But.
“But it might fly off into space again,” you say. “Because, what, it’s all destabilized now?”
He nods.
You’re sitting criss-cross on the ground. The sun shines down warm and the breeze smells of leaves and green, growing things. The sky is blue, with happy clouds puffing along as Shadowheart helps Wyll sit up so he can take a drink of water, while Karlach sits about ten feet away, shredding grass with her talons.
“You’re telling me we gotta do this today,” you say.
“It…seems most prudent, yes.”
“And if we don’t, and I run outta potion, I die or whatever.”
He nods again.
“But if we do do this, and I, by some motherfucking miracle, find a way back home, I still gotta carry my soul around because it still might fly off into space.”
“I’m…not sure it would even be wise to travel across the planes once it’s been transferred.”
The forbidden carry-on. Well.
“I am sorry, Eleanor. Truly. I wish I bore you better news.”
You wave, all distracted. “Ain’t your fault. Y’all been going outta your way to help me this whole time, and I appreciate it. How long does this take to set up?”
He takes a breath, hands folded behind his back. “Not long. We would give you a sleep draught—of which I have a few—so for you, it can happen as soon as you lie down.”
Magical surgery. Neat-o.
You nod. Push yourself up and both your knees creak. You feel heavy and slow. No energy, everything in your body vaguely hurting.
“I’m gonna take a walk,” you say.
Gale’s head dips in a bow. “Of course. Take all the time you need. And whatever you decide, we’ll be here for you.”
He’s a good dude, even if he did eat your very first ring. You put a little effort into your smile as you brush past him to head down towards the river y’all set up next to.
***
You made yourself stop caring about some “afterlife” years ago. If God is a bitch who don’t deserve nothing, then heaven and hell and all that shit can go get fucked right alongside him. You don’t do woo-woo shit anymore.
But you always liked the idea of seeing Grandpa again. Of meeting your dad, maybe. Of seeing your ancestors and finding wherever they went once they left.
Somehow, you don’t think your soul is gonna make it across the space-time continuum between here and Earth to ever see that, if it’s even real.
You can die. Or you can stay here. Forever. Away from your friends, away from Uncle Randy and your aunties (they’re technically cousins, but eh) and all your little third and fourth cousins. You ain’t never gonna catch fireflies or sit on Uncle Randy’s porch, giving him shit for smoking. You ain’t never gonna see your apartment or listen to the rain with Christmas lights twinkling and a mug of cocoa in your hand.
Never catch up on any of your shows or movies. Never listen to a podcast ever again. Never hum along with a favorite song because you ain’t never gonna hear your people’s music again.
Never hear English.
Never learn more Cherokee.
You start sobbing at some point. You’re seated in a hollow among tree roots next to a stream. You can’t stay upright anymore.
You’ll never go to a cafe or a library. No more pizza. No blackberry mochas. Stir fry. Fry bread. Biscuits and chocolate gravy. Fucking ice cream. You will never find a funny meme or have to explain an internet video to your relatives.
Never text Sasha again. Never hear her voice. You’ll forget what she and all the others look like, what they sound like. You’ll forget all the people you love except for their names—
You can die. Or you can lose everything except your fading memories and your own skin. Stuck in a place where you can’t speak the language. Where you don’t understand the clothing. Can’t cook the food. Can’t even read a book or tell a joke because the strangers around you won’t understand why a boat stuck in a canal is so goddamn funny.
The hyperventilating kicks in. You’re far enough from camp you can’t hear the others. You can risk making noise, even if it’s shameful bawling.
Ain’t no one to see or hear you, no one to stop yourself from clawing at your own hair or hitting your head against the dirt. Nobody to point out the wet mess of your face.
Just you and the golden sunshine.
It’d be easy to die. Wouldn’t have none of these worries, no more, and wouldn’t be around to care if Astarion friendship-dumped you and Lae’zel was down with letting you die. No more nasty potions. No more sleeping on hard ground with a rock wedged into your hip. No goblins or brainworms or murder or devils. No more goddamn decisions. No more horrible fucking waiting for the decision to be wrong and for that other shoe to finally, inevitably just fucking drop already.
And if your soul is still on Earth, or closer or whatever woo woo bullshit this all is, maybe if you kick it here and now, it can find its way back.
You don’t want to die. You’re just kinda tired of being alive.
Gale said this was risky. It might not even be up to you in the end, huh?
And that gives you some fucked up comfort. Small, weak, but there. All you have to do is walk back, drink one last, goddamn potion, and lie down. Let what happens happen.
You look over the silver glimmering of the water dancing in the light. Your ancestors went to water to cleanse themselves. Probably not a bad idea. Live or die, at least you can do it clean of spectator guts.
***
The sun skims the treetops by the time you come back. Gale is deep in conversation with Shadowheart. Karlach notices you first. Comes bounding over and opens her arms to kind of hover her hands near your sides.
God, you want to hug her for real.
“How’re you feeling, soldier?” she says. “Up for this wizard shit?”
You’re quite numb, actually. But you throw her a thumbs up and a, “Let’s do this.”
“Fuck yeah, that’s the spirit! Gale told us what he told you. You’re a mean, clever little thing. You got this.”
Shit, she’s kinda worth staying for.
Gale has optimistically laid out a bedroll for you near the fire. Karlach has apparently punched her tent poles around that bedroll and set up a canopy over the whole thing (minus the fire).
“Thank you,” you say.
She does that head-duck shrug thing again.
Gale and Shadowheart meet you at the edge of the magical operating theater.
“Ready?” he says.
No.
“Sure,” you say.
It ain’t really your choice no more.
You lay down. Wiggle around until you’re at least kind of comfortable.
Wyll has propped himself up on his pack so he can give you a smile. He says, “For moral support.”
And then Karlach looms over you again, and she’s got that raggedy teddy bear, Clive.
“I thought,” she says. Shuffles. “Thought this might do you more good than me right now.”
That plucks something in you. Baby soft, thinner than spider silk, but it’s there, and it’s touched. She has to drop it on you so she don’t get too close and burn off your eyebrows. Clive’s a bit charred, a bit tacky from whatever she puts on him to keep him from lighting up, and he smells of sulfur and grease.
You tuck him into the crook of your arm.
“Right,” Gale says. And you been so busy watching all the others you didn’t notice Withers lurking in. You only jump a little, this time. “Eleanor, we’re going to give you a sleeping potion. Should knock you right out. I don’t know what this will be like for you, but we will do all we can. Try not to lose yourself, and hopefully, the potion and our spells will draw you back here, yes?”
You nod.
Shadowheart kneels and holds up a bottle. You feel cold all over, super detached. Death or exile. One of them’s gonna happen.
“Bottom’s up,” you say and slam it down.
For some godforsaken reason, this one tastes like motherfucking cotton candy.
“What the shit,” you sputter. Try to grimace. But a cool hand slips over yours to hold it and you…

Alright, list of headcanons/ideas/hopes for The Owl House cast after Belos is defeated and locked away or dead due to his own ambitions (give me your additions and thoughts, I will if I come up with more):
The Portal Door is recreated, but kept a secret from all human realm dwellers (sans Camilla and Vee). Luz travels back and forth between realms regularly, and sometimes, people tag along with her. She introduces demon realm culture to her family, and human world culture to her second family.
By extension, Gus indulges in human culture with ecstasy! He plans to one day foster a mindset where the demon realm can be well received by humans. However, he acknowledges that not all humans are open to the idea quite yet. In the meantime, he visits zoos for giraffe feedings and travels to major cities to visit prestigious museums. He shows off a lot of his findings, replicating them with illusions, and he inspires fascination with the other world across the entire Boiling Isles.
Luz fulfills her secondary dream of becoming a an author. She writes a narrative about her childhood AND her time in the Boiling Isles. In the human realm, it’s a best-selling fictional narrative about coming of age, found family, and trust. In the demon realm, it’s still a best-seller, but it’s treated as it really is: an autobiography and primary source from the rebellion against the tyrant, Emperor Belos.
Luz actually publishes additions to the original work, including additional history and other primary sources (like a replica of Darius’ draining spell diagram, sheet music for “Raine’s Rhapsody,” Luz’s various artworks regarding the major plot). The sources were put together with cool aunt Lilith’s assistance. In the human realm, she is, unfortunately, credited as anonymous for the sake of witch kind.
Eda and Raine get married. This one’s just a given. Luz helps plan it, and it’s very human and witchy at the same time. It makes Eda happy to see Luz happy, so she and Raine go along with a lot of the plans. Lilith is maid of honor, while Luz and Amity are both bridesmaids. Darius is the best man, and he gives a surprisingly tender speech about his friendship with Raine while also roasting the hell out of them. He doesn’t cry (he does cry). Hunter is a spouse’s man. So are the BATTs. Willow handles the flora. King and Eberwolf are flower girls. Hooty is the ring bearer, to everyone’s chagrin.
Eda remains an excellent mother and wild witch. She continues her life pretty normally, flaunting her prowess and scamming people (teaming up with Edric more often). She is treated with more respect, and she’s seen as a champion for those with life-altering curses. She helps those affected with one live with it, telling how she learned to accept her own.
King begins seeking out the history and real strength of Titans, learning to fully embrace his lineage. He also strives to help others treat “idols” with respect and empathy.
Raine goes back to being the teacher they wanted to be originally! They apply to be a bard teacher at Hexside, so they can give good education to Hexside students. All of the Bard-track students brag about how good Professor Whispers-Clawthorne is. They teach their students the whistle trick, and they all swear to not share the trick with others. They never do. They keep an orange flower in a pot on their windowsill at all times. Before moving in with Eda, they fly/walk with Hunter to school everyday.
Speaking of Hunter, he enrolls at Hexside. The environment there made him feel unsafe, but in the safer way! The people there are good to him, too. The teachers love having him in class because of his utter passion for learning. Like Luz, the curious overachiever, he tries to study all the tracks at once. Principal Bump, still in charge, takes quite a liking to him. In addition to participating in Flyer Derby with the Emerald Entrails, he joins the Clawthornes and Bat Queen and volunteers to help with Palisman adoptions, helping those like his beloved Flapjack find good matches for themselves after tragedy.
Darius’s excellent skincare routine can only do so much. Eventually, being middle aged catches up to him. Barely. He develops smile lines on his cheeks. At first, he frets a bit. But he gets used to them eventually. After all, it’s just a sign that he’s been laughing more. He does play a major role in Hunter’s life, primary caretaker or not.
Willow proceeds as Captain of the Emerald Entrails. After she graduates from Hexside, while most of the others move on for other things (Hunter still holds a passion for the game and keeps at it with her for longer), she continues with the sport! Not only does she go on to the big leagues as an adult, as the witch she wants to be, but she’s basically an inspiration to other young witches. She campaigns proudly for the sport, hoping that it will one day be just as embraced as Grudgby and that others can use it as a mental outlet.
Lilith strives to right Belos’s and Flora’s wrongs. She publishes book after book debunking Belos’s praise and the incorrect history he wrote. She makes exhibits in museums about the culture that was lost on the Isles, hoping that truthful education will encourage others to embrace the good parts. She also eventually accepts Steve’s therapy recommendation and learns not to undervalue herself to so-called superiors.
This is all I can think of right now! I’ll probably add more eventually, and I want to hear other ideas too.

In March, before the release of 'Watching and Dreaming', I wrote this comment to a post on the topic "You found a genie and wished for 20 episodes in the third season of The Owl House instead of 3 episodes. How can this go horribly wrong?". Now I have found it. I corrected a couple of mistakes and gave a little explanation in parentheses
Everything seems great at first. Each of the episodes tells about how Hexsquad get to know Human Realm, get into some kind of trouble and escape with the help of magic. In addition, we are shown how Phillip adapts to the modern world and studies it, and builds new stuff. Maybe Phillip visits Gravity Falls and Los Angeles (Hometown of the heroines of the "Amphibia" series), as he finds information that something strange was happening there. And at some point we become aware that all this time Phillip was watching Hexsquad through the cameras
Perhaps sometimes, instead of Phillip, we are shown how Bosha and other students of Hexside live and deal with their problems. Kikimora is still among them.
The events of the episode "Thanks to Them" take place near the end of the season. When Hexsquad realize that they have a rebus showing where the Titan's blood is, Phillip finds out about it. He takes the Titan's blood, but Hexsquad notice him and start following him. They arrive at his base, which is located in another city. While Hexsquad are exploring the base and looking for Phillip, he uses Titan's blood to activate a portal through which dozens of robots get to the Boiling Isles. Hexsquad find a working portal and pass through it, hoping to have time to stop Belos. Next, we are shown how Phillip is sitting in a room with monitors that show all the places where Hexsquad were before, including a room with a portal. After Hexsquad have entered the portal, he smiles, picks up a bag, goes to the portal through different rooms, and activates a device that makes him invisible, after which he enters the portal.
The next few episodes are devoted to how Hexsquad study the changed Boiling Isles and come to Hexside, where they meet Bosha, other children and a disguised Kikimora. At the end of each episode, we are shown what Belos is doing. He has re-equipped his old hideout and now, through numerous robots, he is watching the entire island. Later it will be shown that the robots have reached other islands, what gives you the feeling that Phillip probably will personally explore these islands.
All the worst will be in the final episode. We will be shown how one of the robots arrived at the Archive House unnoticed and placed various books, game consoles and just toys in a prominent place. The Collector will find these things and together with King will begin to study them. Luz and her friends will use a teleportation glyph to get into the Titan's head, but robots are already waiting for them there. The robots will shoot sleeping darts and Hexsquad will fall asleep.
Luz will wake up chained to a chair, she will be in Phillip's hideout. Phillip will be sitting across from her, they will have a conversation. Luz will be scared, she will ask where her friends are, she will threaten Belos. Phillip will calmly begin to tell what he has been doing all this time, how he studied the modern Human Realm, invented new things, spied on the Hexsquad and came up with plans. We find out that game consoles and other things were delivered to The Collector so that he would have something to play with. Phillip will say that modern Human Realm is quite strange, but he is used to it and is going to clean it of all the filth.
He will turn on a live broadcast on the screens of what robots are doing now all over Demon Realm. Luz will be forced to watch as robots kill hundreds of witches. She will scream, she will cry, she will beg to stop it, and Phillip will smile. When the robots are done, Luz will be silent and cry quietly. Phillip will tell her that she doesn't have to worry, because he didn't touch the dolls - it's necessary for a Collector to play with something.
Luz will quietly ask where her friends are. Phillip will say that they are still alive. One of the screens will show a room in which all the surviving students of the Hexside, Hexsquad and Kikimora will lie. Phillip will show that with the help of some spell, artifact or technology, he can control people. And then he will show Luz a drawing in which students, Hexsquad, Luz herself and Kikimora will stand together and smile, but they will be gray as a stone. Phillip will say, "You remember petrification, right?" and Luz will shudder at the realization.
She would beg Phillip not to do it. Phillip will say that Luz doesn't have to worry, Hunter will stay alive, but he won't remember Luz, her friends, or the Boiling Isles (And he shows her the memory gun). And that now it's time for Luz to go to bed. Phillip gives Luz a sleeping pill and she falls asleep despite trying to stay conscious.
Phillip frees her and carries her in his arms to the same room that was shown on the screen. He puts it with the others, and then uses the item that he told Luz about. Witches and human get into poses, open their eyes, smile, and Phillip turns them into stone. After that, it is shown to us that Phillip did something to Odalia's mind so that she would start to really take care of The Collector and love him.
After that, we are shown how Camilla and Vee are sitting at home and talking, they are worried about the guys. They hear the front door open and run to it. Phillip is standing on the threshold. He shoots them with sleeping darts, they fall asleep, then get into poses and Phillip turns them into stone. Robots take the statues out of the house and load them into the car. In the next scene we see that Camilla and Vee are standing in the same place as the statues of Luz and the others.
Hunter wakes up in bed in a completely new place for him. Phillip is standing next to the bed and Hunter smiles when he sees him. Phillip says Hunter is a little injured, but he will be well soon, and in the meantime, the two of them can play some game. Hunter happily agrees.
The credits begin. At the end, it says "Thank for watching" in large letters. It looks like it's written in someone's blood
That would be absolutely devastating to watch! Watching Philip once more create and carry out his plans in such a calm and collected manner would be terrifying, and it would really amplify how scary of a character he is. I also like the idea that Philip would be going around to other places of weirdness and anomalous activity in order to further his research. I mean, imagine if he and Stanford met and got along. The man would be so distraught to find out the true purpose behind Philip’s visits. The idea of him using robots is interesting, and I like how it’s a callback to Amphibia. All in all, a very interesting AU idea!

HUMADROID: Five For Five
Mac Maxwell is a young black male living in New York City fell a sleep in his recliner feet up in the air. Toes pointed towards the flash of the television screen the picture roles on and again.
The screen suddenly lights up in a flash of good and silver blows up covering up the room. The light lifts him up into the air as if by any sort of magic shoves him backwards he is colliding with the television.
On impact it swallows him whole entirely it is transferring him in to a new world speeding down in to a magical realm. “Welcome dear friend to my wonderful world of mysticism and pure power.” A voice echoes through the halls.
“This is the world you live in a shit place hell hole of drama, evil and fucking asswipes but here. You can bring your imagination to life what one loses here others can find In spades. What do you think?” The man goes on breathlessly till he is finished.
“What is this place?”
“Heaven on earth or paradise “
“So basically it’s everything “
“Correct!”
“Why am I here?”
“To balance the equation.”
“Take what is yours”
“Make your heaven on earth”
“This will be a journey “
“Don’t bother to figure me out”
“I am and can be your best friend or worst nightmare.”
“Which one will it be?”
“Not my enemy for sure”
“Excellent!”
“Did you just snap that book into existence?”
“One of a million things I can do do”
“Why don’t you browse?”
“The HUMADROID catalogue? Are you in the business of building robots?”
Part 1
Tumblr media
The smirks on his face grows widely out of his control pointing into the void as a whirlpool appears. Showcasing multiple video clips of a different guys and couples who have been transforming them into real dolls.
The room spins as he takes a bow flipping the tip of his hate bidding me a due he is backing up fading into the mist of the night and he watches him disappear into the darkness.
Mac stranded in this new world glees with great anticipation exciting within him flow of air current rushes with the descending of a few pods landing on the space pod placed within a grove of patched land inside laid seeds.
The young man greedily goes into series of processes in his new make shift laboratory to make a grand plan in which the scheme will be the likes of which no one else has ever scene and I will unleash in to the world by my orders.
The plants produce a certain color palate in theory that could create a unique hypnotic signature so I intentionally take a year off the grid to study its affects eventually with effort my color b is released to a rousing success.
One day Jamie is passing window shows as he pushes his shopping cart into hollow hall of the mall when one the glass window wow him emitting a multitude of lovely colors like a heat seeking missile the ray zips his eyes contact.
The man immediate struck off his center of gravity frozen in place in front of the window as the colorful display of the giant television screen switches different patterns his eyes match them like clones a ideal match like diamonds.
Soon enough his eyes are now devoid of any life his being completely wiped clean all that is eyes with static grey and colors much like on television and his mind is in endless loop of nothingness ebbing and flowing a new reality.
He was on his way to meet a friend but that is obviously not happening especially when his cell phone screen bings with a sharp resounding sound alerting him to the text but the message goes unanswered his friend.
Tumblr media
Across from the mall a few blocks later his friend Ashley pissing off as per usual is off his pit drunk about to take another sip of his beer when his cellphone rings thinking it is Jamie he is about to scream at him but is cut off.
He places the cell phone to his ear hitting him in ear shattering noise sending a chill down his spine he locks in place beer in his hand the glass falls smashing in to the floor breaking in to pieces his mine completely left in shambles.
He is going completely blank in a states of deep shock and surprises his mind goes in to hyperdrive warping super fast holding him back he drops in to a pit of despair free falling endlessly into a bottomless black hole.
While he will join Jaime in just a pit behind his wall man takes a key the wall opens up
a key hole and the key fits perfectly turning the knob as the door swings to the side and he enters walking in he spits Ashley placing his hands on his shoulder.
Rubbing it he helps him up to his feet as he and his new subject walk off mindless into the void and Ashley is locked in the second pod next to his pal but being reprogrammed for service and I could not be happier with the outcome.
Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you might see it a night in the pod will do him just right in deepening my full on permanent control over his being inside
and out with no to rescue him but me he
is in for a treat.
As his body lay in status over the night I let the headphones place on his face by robot hands firmly and strategic held as the visor programs begin to project into his mind a laser forces his way to his mind in a heavy stream.
Ear buds slips into his ears like a radio the songs are blasting into his ears are playing so hard pumping reprogramming music on and on his voice quiets inside nothing else will ever matter.
The pods go dumb turning completely black encased in a seal of clear glass both of the are sinking into the ground below they will be indoctrinated into a life of us the robot mindless obedience.

Part 2
Nick Pickard is enjoying an early morning in the heat of the night barbecue burning so bright he is unaware of the sparks flying high above the area catching hold of the place.
The room lights up catching fire he trapping him instinctively he hits the wall hard as he crushes a bit the fire blocks him in a sea of chaos the fire reaches the brim of the roof exploding.
The kids of Nick Pickard arriving far to late watching the remains of what was there ex father they lose it bursting in to tears they both collapse from heat exhaustion and faint.
Ian, Glen and Nick feet are grabbed yanking them in to the grass they are dragging in to the grass and thrown in to a nearby pit of epic proportions in an endless sea of white steam.
The next three pods open welcoming them in a deep heavy thud they soon wake up as the top of the roof closes on them locking no rather sealing them in place for what is to come.
“Where am I? Hello?”
“Dad? Why are we here?”
“Dad? “
“Is he in a state of trance?”
“Hypnotized”
“Master? Come and get me”
“Master? Dad are you ok?”
“Obey him”
“You most obey Master”
“Mmmmmmm”
“That hum”
“I can’t stop”
“I’m humming too”
“Mmmmm”
“I can’t think”
“My mind is blocked”
“Am I hard?”
“Rock hard “
“Oh God.”

Tell me about that reigen and ritsu thing on the backburner, I'm curious!
(In exchange, have a picture of Scrungly Lola, my gecko.)
Tumblr media
Chef!! It’s been awhile!! Thank you very much for the Lola. She’s very lovely and sweet. I have many many thoughts and fics in the back of my mind right now, but here is my little half-baked Reigen and Ritsu idea that I've been chewing on:
(General warning for talk/mention of suicide in the context of miscommunication/misunderstanding)
Alright alright alright. For those who have seen the OVA (the train OVA, my beloved OVA, the OVA where we get a smidge of Reigen canonically suffering), you know that Reigen is trapped in this spiritual dimensional cursed version of the train in his sleep. As the episode goes on, he becomes more desperate and hopeless and blah blah blah you’ve seen the episode you know what happens.
But there’s a moment where Reigen writes a note. And when the other espers come in to save him, Reigen tries to hide that note. I wasn’t really sure what it said, but weeeeeks ago @cryran88 sent me an English translation and if you haven’t seen it already, it is SAD.
Now…post-train OVA. This could be as post-canon as I see fit. Ritsu is helping out in the office for whatever reason (mob is sick, studying, some event, literally any reason) and Reigen asks him to grab something out of the filing cabinet where they keep the info on previous jobs. When Ritsu opens it, a shit ton of files fall out because its way too unorganized, which he picks up with help from his powers.
A specific folder catches his eye, though: the one from the hot spring trip, filled with spilling papers and an under-the-table receipt and every other document that had to do with the case. He’s sorting it all back into its folder with his psychic abilities when a little glimmer makes him stop. He pulls out one of the papers, trip itinerary on one side and blank on the other…until he looks closer. With his powers aiding him, some kind of writing appears on the blank side, almost like invisible ink.
Key words stick out to Ritsu as he floats it into his hands and reads it. “Sorry,” “useless,” “gone” ...as he reads closer, he recognizes it to be Reigen’s handwriting. What is this? Why does he have this in here?
“Have you got it yet?”
Ritsu jumps as he hears Reigen’s voice across the room. In a panic, he shoves everything back in the cabinet, taking the one slip of paper and slipping it in his back pocket.
“Yeah—yeah. I’ve got it.”
He reads it again when he gets home, at night, when he’s sure he won’t be interrupted. He concludes it's a suicide note. He isn’t sure how Reigen did this or how he concealed it without powers of his own, but it has to be one.
After that, Ritsu becomes completely obsessed with Reigen—monitoring him, making sure he’s okay, obsessively looking into details in the note to try and undo the damage he thinks has been done. He feels responsible. No one else knows about it, and the guilt and worry of being the only one to know drives him up the wall. Did he do something to make him feel this way? Ritsu never really hated Reigen. He thought Reigen was happy where he was. He didn’t want him gone.
There are more unspoken details with other characters and moments and build-up I would write in between of course, but the fic would essentially peak with Reigen catching on and finding out that the note he wrote on the train somehow transferred over to become visible in this realm due to psychic interference. And now it’s in Ritsu’s hands, and it’s really, really not what it looks like.
At first, there's the age-old lesson of "you're a kid, you're not responsible for adults and how they feel," and "you can always talk to me," and "I promise I'm not feeling that way, and if I was, you shouldn't burden yourself with issues I should be working out with help from other adults."
But then there's another issue. To convince Ritsu that he really is alright and doesn’t plan on leaving them like that anytime soon, he would have to explain why he really wrote it. He can no longer sugarcoat his experience on the train. He doesn’t want the kid to have to know about this terrible stuff he went through, but he realizes he has no choice, no other way to convince him. He has to tell the truth.
Juicy, hurty, comforting in the end, you get the gist. I’m not sure what other characters I would bring in and what roles they would play just yet, but Ritsu walks out with more of an empathetic lens towards someone he initially kind of resented, and Reigen is forced to be weak. Those are two things I just love.
Thank you for listening to my ramblings!! I don’t even know if there would be an audience for this type of fic, but I think it would be fun to write regardless! Anyone else got any juicy ideas? I always love to hear them.

Relatable Scars AU (Additions)
Some little additions to my previously established: What if Vee and Hunter got the chance to meet in the Demon Realm. Leading to Hunter discovering the monster Belos really is (What if AU #2)
---Their first meeting would probably go like something like this:
In the middle of Bonesthought Hunter is desperately trying to find something that could help clear his mind, to shut up that voice telling him to go back, put on his uniform, and spend the next 48 hours working without rest like usual. He really feels awful after the failed mission and really wants to relax for once.
He comes across a vending machine getting smacked by a random girl and he gets in his soldier mentally instantly and tries to arrest her. He persecutes her until they are both in a dead end, and while he threatens to call her parents for the damages he starts to realize what she is wearing, some dirty clothes with an oversized jacket, but before he can respond she calls back saying that she doesn't have parents and that he is a bully and tries to escape again. Hunter stops her and throws at her some money, backing off and apologizing to her. Getting a full picture of why she was trying to rob the machine
They arrive back at the vending machine where Hunter teaches her how to use it, buying her a couple snacks with his money, and staying with her until she is done. They introduce each other and Vee thanks him for being nice to her, something that she isn't used to. Hunter decides to leave not before telling her to be careful out there. Hunter comes back to the same spot a week later to see Vee, this time successfully stealing from the vending machine, but this time he distracts one of the passing scouts, helping her get everything without anyone noticing.
---When they first meet it was clear from the beginning each one was hiding something from the other. But reasonably none of them try to pry much at first, as time goes on they begin to slowly open out about what they go through on a daily basis.
---When Darius discovers that Hunter has been sneaking out of the castle he would be delighted. like: "Oh look at him, his first rebellion. He may not be beyond salvation after all" He promises Hunter to not say anything and gift him a Scroll (He believes Hunter has made a couple of friends his age and hopes they are a good influence on him)
-Continuation to the last one: Hunter will get Vee a Scroll so they can communicate at any time.
---Raine, thanks to Darius's words, decides to also keep an eye on Hunter now that there is the possibility of him trying to break free from Belos' control. They send Derwin (the guy with glasses, because Katya and Amber wouldn't take the mission seriously enough) to spying him during his trips to town and figure out who is he seeing so often.
---Vee knows since their first meeting that he is different from any other witch she has sniff before. Because of this and the scars, she believes he was also made like her. But doesn't dare to mention it because she wants to get his trust first.
---They spent a good amount of their time together talking about how different their lives are compared to the ones from the kids their age around town: "Have you ever... Like, speak with anyone your age, apart from me I guess." - "Can you imagine what a normal life would be like?" - "Have you ever wondered if you have some family out there looking for you" - "School sounds soo cool! They let you study whatever you want! They give you food, and clothes for Free! I would love to go to one!"
---Imagine the angst potential when Belos informs Hunter about the basilisk running out there, giving him the order to capture/hunt/kill any basilisk he comes across. Then, one day in Bonesthroguht as the Golden Guard he finds and successfully kills one in brought daylight, he quickly changes and finds Vee to see if she is alright just to see her absolutely horrified by what the Golden Guard did. Everyone in town is celebrating her sibling's execution. (Not knowing Hunter is the Golden Guard) she cries on Hunter's shoulder while he believes Vee was just spooked by the basilisk. (Probably not going to happen but hey, think about the angst!)
---Maybe at some point, Hunter uses his Golder Guard persona to get Vee to attend Hexide (?) Just kinda a loose idea for the moment.
---Lilith will find Hunter talking with this random girl and think: "Holly shit he got a girlfriend?! How?! since when?! Belos knows this?! Does he spoil him this much?!" So yeah, bad news for Hunter.

I Want Him (Loki One Shot)
Tumblr media
Credit for the image above goes to Nanihoo
A/N: POV you want Loki || Loki x y/n is what got me to write this plus this picture, and what Magery confessed to Joffey to get him to marry him from GOT (Game of Thrones)  inspired a line, which is how all of them came to be. Now before we go on, I will warn you that this is yet again another long ride, so with that in mind you may want to strip in. Now with that in mind enjoy the ride.
Anne Williams was a young goddess who no longer held the power she once had. Despite the fact she was only a 60 years younger then Loki she was formally the sole heir and queen of the kingdom of Magnolia. A kingdom full of intellgient and bright people for while Asgard was known for training some of the best warriors in all the nine realms including the warriors three. Magnolia was known for training some of the greatest minds in all of the realms. They were a kingdom who planned everything out including their alliances. Through their minds were great their warriors couldn't compare to the strength of Asgard. Yet rather Anne being in her own kingdom preparing the final details to become ruler instead she was instead in the last place that she desired to be. For Anne never liked making trips to Asgard especially if that meant Odin was involved. Anne had met Odin many times whether it be through events or when she had studied under Frigga in preperation to become a skilled sedier user to obtain the throne. Yet here she was in the last place she ever wanted to be as....
Anne let out a loud sigh of frustration as upon exiting Odin's war chamber and making her way away from it. She was growing tired of these so called negoations which were mainly Odin trying to ensure he got the best out of Magnolia's ruins and ensuring that he would control her kingdom. Something that Anne refused as heir to the throne through by the looks of it their might not be much of a throne for her to gain. As with each word that came out of Odin's mouth made Anne want to fist him, despite him being the all father of the nine realms. As more often then not Anne would find her finger being gribbed tightly around her fist, the anger being used either on a training dummy, or in a nearby area with little to no people. As Anne was reminded she had likes it so much when Loki was there during negoations. The moment that Anne thought of Loki a smile spread across her lips as she was reminded of the young prince and their shared history.
Centuries Ago
Anne was 750 years old, or 15 years in Midgard, and in that time she had never been one for grand events prefering to lurk in corners and observe rather then dance. Despite Edgar instance, as he would often appear by her side at random moments. Either to demand something or in attempt to scare her, despite Edgar being far older then Anne this never changed. In fact up until then Anne had been minding her own busniess watching nobody in particular when she felt someone touch her shoulder. "Hello." The voice greeting her sounded almost as deep as a frost giant.
Upon hearing it Anne allowed her eyes to roll, as she looked to see her Edgar smiling in her direction. "What do you want?"
At this Edgar put his hands to his heart. "You wound me every day dear sister."
"Sure, now again what do you want?"
"Do I have to want something to see you?"
"Knowing you yes now answer or shall I call someone else to keep you company? Perhaps one of your many admirers?" Anne's arms were crossed, yet a hint of mischief lied in her eyes.
"You wouldn't."
"But I would dear brother unless you tell me why you are here."
"Fine, but just know you don't play fair."
"You speak as if you are any different dear brother."
"Fine, I will make this quick then."
"Aww how sad for me." Upon saying this Anne let out a fake frowny fake in her brother's direction that did little to amuse him.
"Very funny."
"Why thank you."
"I would suggest you at least try to attempt to mingle with some suitors."
"And why would I do that dear brother?"
"Because if you were to become ruler of our fair kingdom you must have a suitor one day."
"What so he can fill be up with babies once we wed?"
"That is the idea."
"Seriously?"
"You act as if I like it any more then you do."
"Yes, but at least you have some sort of choice in the matter."
"So do you."
"Unless some high nobel tries to stick me with their son."
"Well then I would suggest you find someone before they can."
"Here I thought at least 50 more years until I have to do this shit."
"Now, now young lady a princess shouldn't speak in such a manner," Edgar teased, something he often did.
"Oh last I checked the people you seem to keep company with are no different."
"I don't know what you are talking about dear sister."
"Please we both know that you aren't holed up in your room every night."
"You have no proof."
"I have seen you at taverns when you think nobody is watching. So you really should be more careful dear brother."
"What do you watch me?"
"Yes, I am so obbessed with you, that I watch you every night, and the very thought of you gets me off so hard," Anne deadpanned with no real meaning behind those words.
"Seriously must you?"
"Always and why are you not speaking with Thomas of such matters?"
"I am afraid our brother is nowhere in sight so I thought..."
"Why not bother me?"
"Excatly."
"Seriously do you have nothing better to do?"
"Perhaps not aside from asking you where you learned of such matters?"
"What matters?"
"You know those matters you were speaking of."
"You mean se," Anne could barely get out before her mouth was covered.
"Yes, let the whole place hear." At this Anne let out a smile about to say something when a glare from Edgar shut her up. "Now I will ask again where did you learn such talk as that?"
Anne was saying something until she was muffered as she glanced at Edgar before pointing to his hand. As Edgar took his hand off his sister's mouth.
"Books of course."
"And father allows such books?"
"No, but some maids may need to find better hiding places." At this Anne let out a wiggle of her eyebrows.
 "Curious as ever I see."
"When am I not?"
"Then perhaps you would do better company with the prince," Edgar pointed.
"Which prince?"
"Of Asgard you know the kingdom whose event we are attending."
"You don't mean that one, do you?"
"Perhaps I do." At this Edgar let out a wiggle of his own eyebrows. Likely thinking she meant Loki when truly she meant Loki this was what prompted Anne next response.
"Say one more word, and rest assured I will call your fans over here."
"You wouldn't."
"I would if you keep speaking of such matters."
"What do you have such a problem with the prince?"
"He's just not the prince I want."
"Am I really so bad," a voice interjected as once Anne turned she saw that a handsome young man, likely only 50 to 100 years older then her, with jet black and slicked hair, green eyes with mixes of ocean blue, with a mischivous look and smile crossing his face, and wearing a suit as black as night.
"Prince Loki," Edgar said with a bow which Anne soon followed with a curtsy. Through he did sneak a quick look at Anne, he seemed to keep his face professional with his next words. "To what do we own this great honor?"
"I was going to ask your sister of something. But it seems she would rather not prefer my company."
"That is not true your highness. You must've misheard?"
"Me mishear?"
"Yes, for my sweet sister has only been singing your praises."
"Is that so?"
"Yes, isn't that right sister?" At this Edgar directed a look towards Anne that read don't say anything or so help me. Despite Anne wanting to make clear she hadn't meant him.
While Anne hadn't experienced love, she recalled something she had read in a book and thought it might be useful as she let lose a bit of lies. In order to clear up this simple misunderstanding. "Yes, it is true my prince, for you are already starting to take root in my thoughts and I fear for what might happen if it shall get further."
"Then if that is true then you wouldn't mind me asking for a dance?" Loki offered his hand out and before Anne could speak yet again her brother did for her.
"She would love to." As Anne felt a push forward as she took Loki's hand, and allowed him to lead her towards a more closed off area much to Anne surprise their hands were apart from one another and the two were in silence.
"Do you plan to have your way with me here," she teased.
At this Loki shot a brief confused look on her statement. "What do you mean by that?"
"Just what I said."
This seemed to hit a particular spot in Loki as the next words he said weren't so gentle. "You think I would take someone much less a maiden here of all places, rather then my chamber?"
Great not even five minutes alone and I've already offended Asgadian royality. How Edgar would kill me if he saw this she thought as she tried to come up with a solution. "No, I was just merely trying to make conversation my prince," Anne exclaimed nervously trying to clear up the current misunderstanding before it devolped further.
"So dicussion of my private life was the best way to do so?"
"It was the first thing I thought of."
"Was it," Loki asked yet instead of being angry like Anne thought he would be he let out a light chuckle. "My my you must be the first royal maiden I've hear express such things," he exclaimed before disolving into another laugh.
"Surely you jest."
"But I do not."
"Here I thought someone like you would hear thoughts all the time."
"Oh you think so?"
"You are a royal prince after all?"
"And you must be a royal maiden if you are here."
"I am."
"Yet despite that you seem to have a distaste for me."
"I never said that."
"Oh had your brother not covered for you, I am sure you would've said something."
"Whose to say I meant you?"
"Who else would you mean?"
"Perhaps I might your older brother?"
"Thor?"
"Who else?"
"Why would you mean Thor? Surely you think he would be far more suited then the likes of me."
"Why not you?"
"I am the second born, only to rule if my brother is unable."
"Yet you seem far wiser then him."
"How would you know such things?"
"I hear things my prince about both of you."
"You do?"
"Yes, I've heard tales of your wisdom both on and off the battle field."
"Have you?"
"Yes, I've also hear tales of Prince Thor while brave is said to be quite reckless with damage."
"Yes, my brother has that habit."
"So I've heard."
"Speak of which about your brother is he to take over the duties?"
"What do you have a problem with a woman taking over the duties?"
"Never it's just with most nobles and royals it is the males or first borns who rule."
"Not where I come from."
"Oh, I've only heard of one place where that is true."
"You have?"
"By any chance are you from the kingdom of Magnolia?"
"Why yes I am."
"I see. So I expect that the competion might take place soon," Loki said refering to a tradition that was only present in Magnolia. For in the kingdom of Magnolia once all children were of the age of 850, they would hold a competition where the two would battle to see who would take the throne. It had little to no rules aside from all particpants must be alive by the remainder or close enough to live.
"Yes, through my younger brother still has sometime left until he is of age."
"I see so how would you plan to win?"
"If I could I would use seider."
"And why can't you?"
"I'm afraid that their aren't that many in Magnolia who might teach me quick enough."
"Perhaps I could do so."
"Oh would you?"
"You did say I know seider."
"Yes, but..."
"But what am I not fit enough to teach?"
"No, it's just that I wouldn't think you would want someone like me."
"And why is that?"
"I am not as innocent nor peaceful as the ladies of the courts."
"Who said I liked that? Maybe I think feisty woman who test me."
"You surely don't mean that."
"Do I," Loki asked with a wiggle of his eyebrows which sent Anne into a fit of laughters. As Loki wore a confused look on his face. "Have I done something wrong?"
"No it's just you remind me of my brother when you did that."
"Did I?"
"Yes."
"Well I am sorry for that."
"No, it's just honestly I wasn't expecting that from you."
"Well I am full of surprises after all given the god that I am."
"Mischief right?"
"Yes and you?"
"Odin hasn't named me one yet."
"Oh here I thought a maiden as clear as you might already have a title."
"You think so?"
"I know so."
"I see."
At this the two drifted into silence for a few moments not sure what else to say or even if they should talk about what went on. Through it seemed Loki was wanting more as he had more to say. "May I ask something?"
"Anything my prince."
"First of all call me Loki, for I am not your prince."
"Your father is the ruler of the nine realms so you are everyone's prince."
"Yes, but you are royality are you not?"
"Yes but..," Anne tried to interject before Loki put a finger to his lips.
"But nothing call me by Loki."
"If that is what you wish m-Loki."
"Good now may I ask my question."
"Yes."
"Why was someone such as you standing alone?"
"I have never been one for scenes such as this."
"Oh have you?"
"No, for I prefer to observe."
"Do you?"
"Yes, after all it will be good training for a ruler. To be able observe the people around them, and understand what they might be faced with."
"I see, then we have something in common."
"You don't prefer crowds either?"
"No, why do you think I took you away from them," Loki asked with a pause. Anne was just about to answer when Loki finished what he was saying. "And don't even think about saying it."
"Who said I was going to say it?"
"You did the first time."
"Doesn't mean I would again."
"Wouldn't you," Loki asked with a hint of his brow.
"Whose to say?"
"Seriously?"
"Always."
"Well then I suppose I should show you what I was going to do. Before you get any other ideas."
"Oh and what would that be again?"
"You forgot?"
"Perhaps I have, mind showing me what you mean," Anne found herself saying.
"As you wish," Loki said with a bow, as he held his hand out towards Anne as she willing took it this time. Rather then be forced even through in truth she wouldn't have minded doing so.
"There was no need to bow to me," Anne said as she placed her hand on Loki's shoulder, while he wrapped his own hand around his waist.
"Wasn't there?"
"You are a prince."
"And you a princess if I recall."
"How would you know?"
"Because in the kingdom of Magnolia there is only one noble family with three children and that is the royal family."
"I see still you shouldn't bow to me."
"Why wouldn't I bow to my queen?"
"Your queen?"
"Yes either you win or you marry me."
"Surely you jest."
"Whose to say through my offer still stands."
"You would really take me on?"
"I would for I see no downsides if I do with such company as you."
"Surely you joke, you must have far prettier maidens after you then me."
"What if all I want was you," Loki asked a statement he meant as true not that Anne knew that at the time.
"You must be joking once more."
"Maybe I am maybe I am not. You will just have to find out," Loki responded seeing it as the best and only option at the time.
"I suppose I will."
"So dance with me?"
"Aren't we already?"
"If we can move that is."
"Then why don't we?"
"As you wish," is all Loki said before he and Anne began to dance. Through bickering was exchanged the two never talked about the tension that was clearly lurking between them. Even when Anne was returned to her brother for to them it was far to soon, not to mention Anne thought Loki was joking little did she know he wasn't.
Present
As Anne thought back to their first meeting she was cheered up more. For the first meeting had honestly been one of the better things to happen in her life and because of the Magnolia kingdom that she would once rule. As she was reminded of the years leading up until the competion where she would split time between Asgard and Magnolia. In that time she would be taught by both Frigga and Loki. Both families through mostly Odin saw it mutual benfinical given their alliance. Even going so war as to giving both Anne and Edgar titles, Anne as goddess of wisdom and stubborness and Edgar of war.
Through despite the training Anne had barely scrapped her win by the skins of her teeth against her oldest brother Edgar merely 90 years previously. The years afterwards would be spent would be spent further educationing her on her new duties. Through Anne only got 85 years of doing so for something happened all due to her brother. For nobody had care to tell her that if either her or parents were away that  one of her brothers would take over should their parents go anywhere. While Edgar was wise much like Anne herself, her second brother Thomas wasn't. He had been banned from the competation due to his recklessness likely to bring the kingdom to ruin. Yet while Anne was off with her studies and Edgar was on a trip with their father. It had been Thomas who was left in charge of the kingdom, sadly this meant before Anne could finish her studies both her and Edgar were made to return to the kingdom. Yet rather it being the bright and prosperous kingdom that rivaled Asgard, instead it was left in ruins. People were rebelling against the Asgardians sent and other things were starting to arise. Thus forcing both Anne and Edgar to begin cleaning up their brother's mistakes and why Anne had been locked in negoations with Asgard despite her distaste for it's king. Something she got little enjoyment out of aside from being near Loki.
For as the years turned into decades, and into centuries, Anne had found herself becoming more and more fond of the younger prince. When they weren't busy with training the two were often seeing together whether it be bickering or just enjoying the other company. Yet they never talked about it nor the comments Loki was always making, comments that Anne were merely taking as him being kind rather then of serious matters. As the two balanced at the edge of a courtship but never quite to it leading them where they were today as Anne was interupted by Loki....
"Rough day," he asked in his usual husky tone?
"Isn't it always?"
"You know, I hate watching you like this."
"I know it's just," Anne started but didn't want to speak bad of Odin especially towards Loki.
"My father I know how it is."
"Yes, through I am glad you are here."
"Are you?"
"Yes, I am not sure what I would do without you?"
"You aren't?"
"Of course not."
"Even if I am a trickester god?"
"Even if," Anne said with a smile.
"So are we going to get back to it," he asked offering his arm.
"Must we?"
"I am afraid you must."
"Then I suppose I shall go."
"I know you don't want this."
"Yes, but do I have much of a choice."
"I wish you did," Loki said with a sad look.
"So did I," Anne remarked before the two made their back into Odin's war chambers. All during reminding herself whatever Loki was saying it was just a game or was it? Through she could've sworn she saw something in him. Throught she put off the moment she and Loki re-entered Odin's chambers.
As yet again negotations began, even worse then the last time. Odin offered nothing to them if Anne even considered his offer. And demeaning Loki at every turn something Anne was growing tired of as she was reminding herself one thing at a time. Through with the way things were going it wasn't likely as yet again Odin offered something clearly in his favor.
"No," she cried.
"Sister can't you think about it," Edgar asked despite Odin, his council, Frigga and Thor being present in the same room.
"Why should I, he is clearly trying something that only profits him."
At this Edgar seemed to get smaller something Anne hated to see around her usual teasing older brother. "We don't have much of a choice."
"Yes, but I would like something if I want to consider this."
"And what would you want," Odin asked as if to remind them they weren't alone.
Anne looked up and around the surrounding area and spotted Loki. As she thought of something. Why should he be standing to the sidelines when I can do something? Even if he doesn't feel the same way wouldn't it be better he be with me then under Odin she thought. As she said something that was very much unexpected. "I want him," she said looking in the direction of Loki.
"You can't have him," Odin declared thinking she meant Thor and not Loki.
"And why not?"
"Because he is to rule," Odin said pointing to Thor.
"I don't mean Thor."
"Then who do you mean?"
"I mean Loki."
"Loki?"
"Yes Loki who else," Anne declared.
At this Loki choose to speak seeing the tension that was shimmering. "You don't have to do this," he said.
"He is right! Why would I allow him to marry you?"
"Well again if you want me to even consider your offers, I want something out of it. And I pick Loki," Anne declared not even faltering despite what was happening.
"Why all he is a mischivious god surely he would cause more trouble," Odin asked.
"To you, but to me he is so much more."
"Is he?"
"Yes, and if bothers you so much I will put more into it."
"Oh and what will that be young goddess who is lucky to be standing," Odin asked.
"I'll take him as he is, and wed Loki in the traditions of your house and Asgard. I will even consider your offer."
"You will?"
"Yes, but only if I get Loki or no dice. So what do you say?"
"Fine, Thor was to be heir anyway, if you want Loki then you shall."
"Thank you my king."
"Now I expect more open negations especially since we are to be family soon," Odin said as if he didn't just steal his own son for his own means.
"You shall have it," Anne said as she took her seat. Despite the earful she was getting whispered by her brother. As the talks continued until finally Odin grew tired and demissed them. Saying they were to talk about the other details tomorrow. Soon it was only Anne, and Loki left in the war chambers the two standing so close yet so far away in silence until Loki spoke.
"Why did you do that," Loki asked.
"Why wouldn't I?"
"You didn't have to pity me."
"Who says I did?"
"Because all you have done is dimiss my offers."
"Your offers?"
"Yes, the offers I have made since we first met."
"Those were offers?"
"What do you think they were?"
"Just your usual teasing."
"And why would you think that?"
"Because honestly I didn't think you would choose me."
"Clearly and now you are stuck in a marriage because you pity me, poor Loki."
"I never said that."
"You didn't need to. Every time I flirt with you say nothing proves my point"
"I am not to blame completely for this."
"Aren't you?"
"Last I checked you did nothing to change anything despite everything" Anne countered.
"Because I thought you didn't want me."
"You thought I didn't want you?"
"You never talk about our flirtations."
"Nor do you."
"Well it doesn't matter because now you are forced with a man you don't love."
"I never said that."
"Please we both you don't feel the same," Loki said with a scuff his voice getting just a bit higher.
"I never said that."
"You don't have to."
"Do I?"
"Why would you pick me of all people?! I am just Loki."
"So what?"
"So what I am the second born? I am nothing compared to Thor. I am not a warrior as I prefer books. Not to mention I am in love with a woman who is constantly reject my advances."
"Again you think I reject them?"
"Yes, the first time I talked of you becoming queen. You said nothing."
"Because I thought you were joking."
"When have I ever joked?"
"Always."
"You think I would joke with you of people?"
"I don't know you never said anything?"
"Because I thought you knew what I was doing."
"Clearly I didn't or I wouldn't be fighting with the man I love," Anne blurted before she could stop herself.
"Love?"
"Yes."
"You love me?"
"Yes."
"Since when?"
"Since we met."
"Why?"
"Because you are you. You make me laugh, you make me smile, you are smart, you induldge me despite my craziness, and so much more."
"So you offered to marry me rather then say anything."
"You didn't say anything last I checked."
At this Loki let out a chuckle the first Anne had heard since the talks started. "My aren't we a pair of fools?"
Anne soon found herself chuckling as well. "Me the goddess of wisdom and stubborness not being wise."
"And me the god of mischief not lying?"
"Aren't we a pair of fools not realizing this," Anne finished.
"Are you sure you want this," Loki asked.
"Must you ask me this now after what I've said?"
"Just making sure I am not dreaming."
At this Anne got closer to Loki and despite Loki being taller then Anne she held his face. "Yes, for I have never been so sure about anything else."
Loki smile his own smile. "Then I suppose we have a deal my soon to be wife."
"Well then as your wife, I want a kiss."
"Are you sure?"
"Must you always ask that?"
"Just making sure."
Anne waited yet while Loki tried he couldn't seem to do it fast enough. "Seriously must I do everything in our relationship," Anne asked. Before Loki could say anything else his lips were soon on Anne. As the two shared their first kiss, a kiss that was centuries in the making. Upon parting the two were seen sharing smile, as Loki offered his hand to hers just like the first the they met.
"Shall we go my queen," he asked?
"Yes I believe I should have at least one dance with my soon to be husband," Anne said as she took his hand as the two walked out of the room hand and hand. Nobody watching them as they walked out, as they danced together or in their private moments just like nobody watched them dance that first time. Yet despite this Anne had always wanted him and now that she had him that was all that mattered to her. For she would never let him go again after this no matter what happened for if she had him, he had her they would never want for anything else, as they had what they wanted and nothing else matter to them as long as they had each other. All of it being because Anne wanted Loki.
A/N: The ending was so different from what I thought. In the OG like in the edit it would be after Loki was forced into chains. As all of this would take place after when Loki went to talk to Anne it would be in the past and the last time she would see him until after what happened. After that everything would take place in the throne room as Odin will say Loki is alone and all that. While Anne will offer to marry Loki, in exchange to think about things. The coversation will stay the same mostly through Loki will ensure she wants it.
Anne: Yes I am sure. Now do we have a deal or not?
Odin: We do.
Anne: Good now I also want Loki to be released from his chains seeing as he is my husband.
Odin: *motions* Release him.
*The guards release Loki as Odin will dimiss everyone as Loki and Anne will walk out together like the badasses they are.*
So yeah that was what I was thinking but I thought why not go in a different way. So yeah that is why it ended up like this. Other then that I bid you all farewell until the next chapter.

🎨//A Sample of My Headcanons on the Dragon Daddies (Artisans Edition):
Tumblr media
Alban:
The ill-tempered scribe of the Artisan Realms. Infinitely skeptical and standoffish towards most, getting past his cold exterior will take a tremendous amount of willpower. He's straightforward, despising small talk, preferring to 'get on with it' rather than fumbling around a pointless conversation. He's got no tolerance for foolishness of any kind, especially from his inner circle in Dark Hollow.
His duties consist of keeping historical records and the creation of books. Centuries prior, he kept business, judicial, and court records. Nowadays, he focuses on making books and taking dragon population surveys across the realms. For a few extra gems, he can even be a book editor at his client's request, but they should expect to be put on a lengthy waiting list because Alban is highly sought-after dragon.
Him and Spyro have a strained relationship stemming from an incident from a few years back. When Spyro was younger, he'd stay after his writing lessons to read the historical records with Alban. He'd practice writing through a journal given by Alban, but the scribe was appalled by a passage written on the Sorceress.  He reprimanded the boy for swearing to defeat her, but Spyro said he was overreacting. Hurtful words were exchanged, and their relationship was never the same.
He utterly dreads receiving written reports from the other realms, something always goes awry during delivery. Peace Keepers scrolls are full of sand or burned, Magic Crafters use a different alphabet per realm, Dream Weavers are too cryptic, and the Beast Makers' parchment has water damage. He may seem fine on the outside, but the veins on his hands due to his death grip on the scrolls say otherwise.
He'll spend days at a time in his study just writing. Oswin is the one who delivers food and water to him, often giving updates about the outside world to him, while Darius is the one to get physical and drag him to bed if he's in there for more than three days straight. Argus jokes that the dragon wrote more in a week than the scholar could in a millennium.
After the dragons were exiled to the Dragon Realms a thousand years ago, Alban, Darius, and Oswin were the only dragons of their generation to be fully literate at four years old. They assisted Thor and Astor with teaching the other young dragons how to read and write. Darius and Oswin love to teach, while Alban, well...His perfectionism makes him excruciatingly hard to please.
He'd never admit it, but he cares deeply for those closest to him. He will always stand up for them when they need it. This protective nature extends to the youngest Artisan and his glowing dragonfly's wellbeing. He simply doesn't get along with a lot of people because of his 'unfriendly' personality and he doesn't want it to be that way, but his pride makes apologizing hard and his less than stellar social skills are great at worsening the situation.
Darius:
The theatrics never end with him, he's so dramatic in a way that's just entertaining to watch. There's always anticipation for what his answers are going to be on... anything. He thrives off the attention of a large audience on the stage but not so much off the stage. Without a crowd to listen to him blabber out his lines, he gets time to breathe, and returns to library to try to find inspiration for his next major production.
Actor, director, producer, he can assume any role he needs to. He's strict, but fair with his performers. If their mistakes are not corrected, he'll give them two chances to get it together. So far, he's found six talented dragons to be a part of his Dark Hollow troupe, not including Oswin and Alban. Watching them perform is like an otherworldly experience, it's impossible to recognize them once they're in character.
Using Spyro in a production is not a very good idea, and Darius learned this the hard way. Sparx had to remind him of which lines to say and, after he altered his costume and lines without permission, Spyro tried to 'save the play' by making everything 'action packed'. The staff and actors adjust well enough to the 'new and improved' story from the little dragon, but just want it to be over quickly so that they can harshly scold him behind the curtains. The audience left the stands confused on how their historical reenactment became a high fantasy action-adventure feature.
He gets intense when writing his characters, three or more trips to the library, a pile of crumpled drafts, and several empty inkwells. Any disturbance in his office will be removed immediately, or else a death glare to end all death glares will be thrown at any intruders. He's taken Gnorc armor before because he felt that it suited one of his characters far better than a 'bumbling oaf masquerading as a soldier'.
The Dark Hollow dragons are the only living souls allowed to go over his rough drafts. He trusts them to edit and rearrange, with his supervision, scripts for upcoming productions. This leaves Darius with enough time to set up props and finish costumes.
He reaches out for a majority of the props used in his plays, but the costumes are made by him and him only. His craftmanship is undeniably excellent, requests come from realms out of the Artisan Realms. Every Artisan owns one or more pieces of clothing crafted by his hands, the ones who purchase his pieces are the Magic Crafters.
The skull he holds is a prop carved from a stone he discovered in his rose bushes. He paid Nils to carve identical stones to use as decorations for his rose garden. The Artisans find them to be highly disturbing, some outright saying it to his face, still, Darius argues that it gives the scenery 'personality'.
Oswin:
The excitable dragon whose face is perpetually hidden behind a book. Getting his attention is like trying to put shoes on field mice, doable, but not for the weak-willed. To get him to pay attention, as rude as it is, take the book from his hands and make eye contact with him.  Be quick with the topic, because then he'll start trying to find different subjects to educate on, which, as predicted, usually has little relevancy to the original topic in any way. Give him time, he's a sweet, sweet dragon with his head in the clouds, or, realistically, a puddle of water.
This librarian is a night owl through and through, he's awake from eleven in the morning to eleven at night. He'll spend entire days rearranging books, updating and making catalogues for what books are on what shelves, and reading over books before making them available to the public. The residents of Dark Hollow are unsure of how he pulls such a feat without the use of caffeine, but his energy output continues to be chipper, no matter the situation thrown at him.
He personally keeps records of book fines and adds 5 gems per day after the return date. The highest fine ever paid for an overdue book was 150 gems by an infamous young dragon. He gave him a serious lecture for keeping a book a month after it was supposed to be returned. Spyro, worried that Oswin would go berserk if he didn't do something, offered to help him organize the bottom shelves to calm him down. Now on Wednesdays, the boy organizes returned books with Oswin which the older dragon is very, very happy with.
He'll know when a book is missing or overdue, and he'll be fidgety until it's returned. This is especially the truth if the book is approaching its due date. He once showed up to Alvar's quarters in Town Square at midnight to get a cookbook returned on its exact due date. The chef said that he felt a chill travel from head to tail at the look he was given.
He's written a handful of books, fiction, meant for all audiences. 'The Dragon's Rainbow' is moderately popular and letters asking about the future installments are frequent. Gnorcs are his largest demographic, but Oswin doesn't see it as concerning. Anyone is welcome to read his fantasy novels, as long as they return them on time, which the Gnorcs never fail to do.
The genre he's spotted reading the most are fairytales and fables, because he believes the lessons taught are invaluable. Oswin is not picky about reading materials in the slightest, he'll read instruction manuals, tabloids, poetry, and biographies. If it's got words on pages, he wants it. 'Oh, can I have that when you're done with it? I don't think I've read that one before'.
The hazardous placement of candles inside of the library has been a topic of intense debate between him, Darius, and Alban. Oswin insists the candles stay as they are, Darius wants the ones on the shelves removed, and Alban is ready to install electric lamps around Dark Hollow. The librarian won't budge, promising the books will always be safe under his supervision. The pools of water on the other hand, he's still thinking about that one. He's found himself dropping books in the pools of water in the library several times since the library became his, and it's never not embarrassing. Fishing the soggy book out of the water and making a trip to Alban's study, swiftly being lambasted by the scribe as soon as he sees the pages ink smeared across the pages. Sometimes, when a story is especially enthralling, and he can't bring himself to watch where he's going, the books take him with them and, SPLASH, now they're both drenched.

Cats in palaces, witches in boarding school, human heroes in the demon realm…it seems that our reviews this week feature plenty of protagonists dropped in unlikely places, and that’s not even considering a shy superhero (SHY) and an isekai’d hero (Konosuba) in two other volumes. But what should you expect from these stories of unexpected encounters and adventures? Dive in below to find out!
Dandadan (Vol. 2) • Helck (Vol. 1) • Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Memorial Fan Book • Kowloon Generic Romance (Vol. 1) • My Gently Raised Beast (Vol. 1) • Secrets of the Silent Witch (Vol. 2) • SHY (Vol. 1)
-----
SHY, Manga Vol. 1
Superheroes suddenly manifest all across the planet! Each nation has its own! Britain’s is a Bowie-Bono-esque rock star; America’s, a classic clean-cut lycra-donning costumed hero; Russia’s, a drunken voluptuous nee-san type; and Japan’s…a diminutive middle-schooler terrified of her own shadow? Ah yes, the trials and tribulations of being a shy hero! The premise may be simple, but this opening volume is so full of energy and defining character moments—not to mention ridiculously rich artwork—that it’s a strong start to what promises to be a solid superhero comedy-action-drama with plenty of character growth and interesting dynamics between the cast. The pacing is fantastic, with Teru Momijiyama (aka Shy) experiencing an entire emotional arc in this volume alone. It feels neither rushed nor cursory, but instead allows the MC to process a traumatic incident step by step—poorly at first, but ultimately stronger and better connected to community (both heroic and civilian) by the end. With more action than gags, Shy is nevertheless a delightful read in the vein of Bocchi the Rock, reveling in the superpower that is in-kya. Introverts of the world, take heart! ~ claire
SHY is published by Yen Press. Also, an anime has been announced, yippee!
Helck, Manga Vol. 1
After the great demon lord was defeated by a human hero, the Demon Realm decided to hold a tournament to find his replacement. And one competitor is proving himself far stronger than all others. The only problem? He’s a human, too. Thus begins a fantasy adventure centered on the titular hero and Vermilion, the Elite Demon Lord who is overseeing the tournament and concerned about this OP human. Volume one was an unexpected and delightful read for me, full of humor (typically in the form of OP jokes but with some tsundere laughs thrown in) and mystery, as well. Is Helck really trying to help the demons? Is he as good-natured as he appears to be? Who are the true enemies in this story—is it the humans? The human hero? Another entity? It’s certainly not the demons, who prove themselves to be kind and humble, both the ordinary ones and the strong characters at the heart of the story, the latter of which are easy to love and root for. These pages end on a cliffhanger, but I was already sold enough on the laughs, characterization, and mystery to return for volume two to see how this well-crafted tale continues to transpire. ~ @animepopheart
Helck is published by VIZ Media. Volume one releases on January 10th.
Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Memorial Fan Book
Just prior to Konosuba’s final volume being released in Japan, Kadokawa published this fan book to celebrate the series. It’s similar to other compendiums developed as companions to beloved series, though I wonder if the audience for this one is too narrow. While such works are often fun to read because of the fascinating worldbuilding that goes into those franchises, the Konosuba Memorial Fan Book isn’t sustained by quite enough depth to be engaging. With a multitude of character profiles, lots of illustrations, and setting pages that remind me of elementary school projects to create a fun profile for a locale one is studying, the book is a good resource for the franchise and more fun than a Wiki, but it doesn’t provide a whole lot more than a good Wiki would. The most notable exceptions are a humorous and insightful back-and-forth interview between the series writer and light novel illustrator, and guest illustrations at the front of the book from other well-known illustrators. Neither of these elements would be enough for a beginner to the series like myself to purchase it, however, and I think all but the most ardent of Konosuba fans would probably feel the same.~ @animepopheart
Konosuba God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Memorial Fan Book is published by Yen Press.
Kowloon Generic Romance, Manga Vol. 2
Kowloon is nostalgia. Nostalgia is love. These are two of the very few rules that are established in a world where none of us, much less high-rise realtor and protagonist Kujirai, really know what’s going on. The mystery of what the floating cube floating over Kowloon is (think Ramiel in Evangelion), and why Kujirai has changed personality, only expands in volume two. Right from the opening chapter, we get a glimpse into her “original” personality in a flashback, while the outer mysteries, presumably connected to her own, grow as the manga progresses and a possible villain is introduced. These mystery and sci-fi elements set against the background of a crowded Chinese city based on the real Kowloon are what’s most intriguing about the series; but it’s also carried by a generally light and humorous tone, punctuated by optimistic characters and the fun dynamic between Kujirai and her crush/senpai-cum-former fiancee/kohai. This series is addicting, and it’s just getting started. On a side note, it comes shrink-wrapped and with a warning about adult content—thus far, though, there’s no more of it than in any usual young adult manga. ~ @animepopheart
Kowloon Generic Romance is published by Yen Press. Based on only this release and the previous one, it made our honorable mention list of Best of 2022 Manga!
My Gently Raised Beast, Manga Vol. 1
Do not be fooled by the soft cover art and gentle pastel color scheme, my friends. This one starts with a great deal of peril! And from the frying pan into the fire, as the saying goes, when our plucky protagonist, eleven-year-old orphan Blondina, seeks to break free from her abuser and ends up…in the palace? Turns out she’s the illegitimate daughter of the Emperor, who takes her in, not out of any affection but for some other, as yet unidentified reason—though you can be sure it is nefarious. Sure, Blondina may now be a princess, but she’s surrounded by nasty elites every which way she turns. But never fear, for in chapter two, she comes across a very cute cat! It’s important to have allies in life. And cuteness. Especially the furry kind. But wait, since when could cats talk? Turns out that Amon is not actually a cat, but rather an as-yet half-grown fearsome mystical beast that can transform into a cute nine-year-old…boy? Cue the romance, though please wait until after the time skip (which is coming in the next volume) because eleven and nine are a bit young for that sort of thing. Plenteous boops ensue: paw boops, nose boops, all the boops. And some pretty expressive tail thrashing too. But what really carries this volume is not so much the cute cat action as Blondina herself: she excels at the tastefully suave putdown and has a surprisingly cunning streak that rises to the fore when interacting with her cruel half-siblings. She may frequently don raiments of purplish blue, but a shrinking violet she is not! Yet neither is she inhumanly fearless. Instead, Blondina quite sensibly becomes frightened in terrible situations, while remaining a grounded, savvy young girl with a strong sense of fun and easy affection despite her tragic back story. In short, she offers a fresh twist on the “clever heroine amid scheming royals” genre, a staple of Webtoons (of which this is one). The pacing is likewise excellent, with plenty of character development and worldbuilding gracing this volume, in addition to a steady plot. Altogether, this is a delightful first volume, and the glossy color printing makes it all the more appealing. ~ claire
My Gently Raised Beast is published by Ize Press, an imprint of Yen Press.
Dandadan, Manga Vol. 2
Dandadan ditches the most memorable elements from volume one—heavy fanservice focusing on heroine Momo and penis jokes at hero Okarun’s expense—in favor of building out the relationship between the protagonists and moving on to the next story in the series about supernatural curses and sex-crazed aliens. It’s a good move, because volume one was gross, using those transfixing elements to cover up for weaknesses that admittedly remain in these chapters (the most obvious of which is how the action jumps too quickly from panel to panel at times, leading me to occasionally flip back and forth and wonder if I’d missed a page along the way). Having toned down some (the sex jokes are still there a bit), Dandadan turns toward the story, concluding the turbo granny piece, bringing in a new (old) sassy character, and starting a love triangle, while also continuing the budding if totally wish-fulfilling romance between the leads. Still, this is a stronger volume than the first and almost has me interested in reading more. Almost. Because of its weaknesses and tendency to rely wholly on the action and a cute lead, it’s still not particularly compelling for readers like me and probably most others who aren’t teenage boys. ~ @animepopheart
Dandadan is published by VIZ Media. Volume two releases on January 10th.

Secrets of the Silent Witch, Light Novel Vol. 2
Two volumes in and Secrets of the Silent Witch is shaping up to be one of the most satisfying light novel series I’ve read. The setup isn’t anything extraordinary—Monica, a powerful and genius mage, infiltrates a school to protect a prince (and student council president), though her incredible power is countered by her extreme shyness. However, volume two demonstrates how the series delivers so perfectly on this premise. Monica’s assignment continues to challenge her, especially her new position on the student council, which lead to new friendships and other interactions that push her to grow in endearing ways. The romance is cute but not too saccharine. The humor is pleasant and frequent, the story steady and believable, the mystery tightly woven and thoughtful. And the action is a pump-your-fist kind of exciting, much like the conclusion to volume one but even better. I was only left wondering where the evil behind the veil in volume one went, and how much it was connected to the antagonists in this book. But even without that answered, I’m wholly entranced by Secrets of the Silent Witch and eager for more and more to be revealed. ~ @animepopheart
Secrets of the Silent Witch is published by Yen Press. Based only on this release and the previous one, it made our list of Best 2022 Light Novels!

╔════════════ஓ๑Vittorio Main Verse๑ஓ═════════════╗
For my main verse for Vittorio, I follow cannon pretty closely when it comes to his past and how he got sucked into the fog but it diverges a little from there. At first he is free to explore the realms and search for the Observers. During this time he grows his powers and studies the runes on his body and in books he finds scattered through out the realms. He gets to the point where he can pretty much hop between realms as he chooses and not randomly get thrown around. One day though while experimenting with runes to find a new realm he got to ambitious. He used to many runes he was not familiar with and got pulled into his first ever trial. These trials looked very different than "modern" trials as we see in the main dbd verse with the generators and door. He goes through that torture for about 50-100 years until he finally learns how to break through the entities rules and use his magic. He escapes the never ending trials and goes back to exploring trying his best to forget the hell he was trapped in. Now 200+ years later Vittorio is probably one of the most powerful people in the fog that wasn't "blessed" by the entity. He can now create and pull items from the fog it self and transport freely between realms with little energy. He has learned how to use advanced magical artifacts and has a very vague understanding of modern history/language thanks to both magic and just picking it up from books and other people in the fog. For some unknown reason one day Vittorio is being pulled away from his tower and the all to familiar feeling of being yanked into a trial washes over him. Even if it's been two centuries since his last trial he could never forget that feeling of being pulled into one. This is how he meets the new survivors and killers of the realms. He learns very quickly how the generators work and despite not being in trials for so long he's a very skilled looper/ general distraction. He's actually fairly secretive about all the things he's learned in the fog and his powers as he doesn't know who he can trust with this information or not among the new survivors. He does teach those who can use his type of magic how to work the potential energy spell (though most survivors can not "hold" as much energy as he can and loses that energy quickly if they're not careful enough). He loves sharing knowledge with others and will gladly talk about things he deem "safe" for the survivors he's talking to but will avoid questions or simply just refuse to talk about certain magic. (One way to get him to not share any more knowledge or magic with you is to push about magic being used to hurt others no matter if they're a killer or not.) ═════════════ஓ๑Toscano Verse๑ஓ═════════════ tags for this Vittorio are verse: the other side This Vittorio (Who goes by Toscano) IS violent and uses magic in ways normal Vittorio would never. The tattoos on him are much larger and will move across his body like a living creature. He has inserted the magic ink he's found in towers into his eyes causing them to be glowy like his tattoos. He is very charming and kind but will flip if he views you as an "evil" he must get rid of or if you become a obstacle for his goal of the perfect world. He will claim he doesn't kill/harm others but this is all a lie and front he puts up to gain supporters for his cause. He very much will harm others and on rare occasions "kill" people. Since permanent death is so hard to achieve in the realms his killing is simply either turning the person into an empty husk with no personality or thoughts of their own anymore. Though for people who have a much stronger resolve well he also has access to the void in a way very few people have. Any major threats if they can't be converted to his view point on life through torture/mind breaking well he simply dumps them into the void. He has convinced himself he's an observer or at least someone destined to become more powerful than them .
