Note: I'd like to say that my Mc is not cheerful, there's a hint of them being bullied in this.

—ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A CURIOUS LITTLE THING, sometimes bolder than normal.

You were admired in a universe which titles 'Wonderland' and met many strange customs in it.

How astonishing to be exploring and talking in fantastical stories! That was until you caught the attention of the monarch himself.

He finds your existence.. peculiar.

“Oh, and who is this lost dear?” His tone has no bite as his gray eyes dilated innocently at you.

Surprisingly, he didn't berate you when you came out mysteriously by an opening portal created by someone's power at his tea parties and being the oh pure soul you were, you asked him upfront whether he would be okay if you’d like to be friends with him. How (ignorant) brave of you.

“Your majesty, forgive them! They didn't know any better about their etiquette and manners!” The advisor of the queen with a clover mark stated.

“Trey, don't. We should hear.. how our queen is going to handle this.” The orange head muttered, his expression was unreadable.

“..That moron is a goner. Sheesh.” The red haired boy chimed in with sympathy.

“They're not dying! Don't be weird, Ace!” His partner who was serving drinks nagged at him.

“The heck are you on, Deuce?!”

“Eh....??” Your lips thinned with anxiety.

Everyone stopped what they were doing almost comically as they prayed at the demise of yours.

What they didn't expect was that a vehement burst of giggles escaped their leader himself.

The attractive royal laughed so much!

That he forgot to compose himself!

His subjects were combusting in the background and the wine-haired male regained his senses.

“Are you bothered by this?” You inquired. A rush of memory from reality washed over to you. What if he despises you? What if he thinks you're a freak?

His brow raised as if scanning your horror.

“How terrible of me. As its ruler, I must apologize for a moment. I am Riddle Rosehearts, a queen of this land you stand. What about you, visitor?”

“Erm.. I can't say, uhh you can call me however you wish, sir..” You bowed with a grin, still waiting for his response. Unlike other 'Alices' he knew, you took your time to remember *ahem* his rules.

You both hit it off and exchanged whimsical ideas on hobbies, traditions and silly stuff that you can chat with. You became enthusiastic when you informed him about your goals, your parents and adventures that you'd often go to. He seemed peaceful and even gave you his tarts too!

“Of course, history from your country is baffling. Then again, our state isn't the same, is it?”

“Mmh, ah, your majesty! Can you teach me how I must conduct my speech in your presence? Are there any books you would recommend to me? I'm a slow learner! I don't want to be rude to you. You have been hospitable. I should repay you.”

“It appears you have problems at your school? Is it affecting your performance during classes?”

Riddle's words may be sweet like sugar and cakes but his intentions weren't out of generosity.

In it there hides a tension that you weren't able to decipher as you nodded obediently, too absorbed with your conversation to comment on his overly protective behavior about your life.

“I just feel like I don't belong there, can't I be with you for an eternity? I could work for you!” It was lighthearted and you were jesting to him.

Riddle distastefully clicked his tongue.

“You dared to farce around with ME.....?!”

You don't mean a word you apprised!

“Your majesty? What.. are you..?”

“Rule 154 # Of The Queen Of Hearts: One must not cancel a request from her majesty.”

“What?! Hold on.. I didn't agree to anything-”

“Or are you deaf in what I'm saying? I'm The Queen Of Hearts and I hereby announce that you will be my-bride-to-be! My words are law!” You weren't that stupid, putting two and two together.

“How..! That's a dictatorship!” Your mouth moved.

“When have I said I was a nice queen?”

His smirk was frigid and it looked more noxious than previous rounds he sent. “I have the impression that you promised to be with me by your own free will. You are not going back on that one pact you spoke of, are you, my crown?”

“Listen! Please, please..! I can't marry you, your majesty! I.. I can't be! That is..” Insane.

“You should beg more then.” He scoffed. No longer upholding his kind image that he feigned.

“That's..! No.. no..! Surely, you're joking!!”

“You can't leave, not unless you can kill me. You don't have the legendary sword either, do you?”

He had eradicated White Queen's goons already.

“The blade that is for slaying Jabberwocky?” Mad Hatter had explained to you of its origins.

“You don't need it.” Riddle remarked venomously.

“You destroyed it....?” You wondered.

That damned weapon he had placed a curse on it with ancient spells that only he can revert.

And? What if you're a destined hero? He will ABSOLUTELY have his happily ever after!

“I could never hurt anyone for..” Your shoulders sagged as your inner panic grew by seconds.

Riddle's expression was cruel as he analyzed.

“Our tale fancies you a lot. Alas —what can it do if you are tender-hearted with your enemies?”

“T-There are other ways to go back to my world!”

And you were correct on that. Riddle remained stoic as he took a sip of his herbal tea tardily.

He brought his cup of liquid onto his saucer.

“Yes. That is if you're competent for it.” He sighed as he finished his sentences. “So? Are you going to challenge me into a duel? A game? Which is it?”

“A duel? A game? With.. you who is a wizard?” He deliberately chose his lines to rile you up.

You weren't going to win if you were hasty.

“I'm not a savage. I allow you to take options. And you did nothing. Can you blame me?”

You would be ethereal if you were to sit on the throne with him. And it was a good opportunity that you were simply gullible. If you were smart, he'd have to break you than what he wanted.

“You..!”

A single drop of tear slid from your hazy eyes.

“I thought.. I thought we were confidants!”

“Throwing tantrums won't make me negate my resolve. It's your fault for being this credulous.”

“Fine.. I'll do it. Let's fight. I'll pick what we WILL do next, you can't cheat or turn to your allies! Most importantly, you can't use magic at all.” You have to set a covenant up, or else he could be sneaky.

“Alright, I will not do that.”

He wasn't a scummy type of man anyway.

“You promise on the sun above us?” You said.

“Yes, I do. If I cannot be faithful, I'll let you have a clue or a hint to help you back to your family.”

“Are you lulling me into false securities?”

“What are you ascribing of me?”

“So you are not?”

“You're getting off track. Shall we start?”

It was quite hilarious that you think you can weasel out of his grasp. You weren't great at these things. It was inevitable for you to end up embarrassing yourself when he's done with you. Should he kiss you? Dress you in a wedding gown? Ah, he's going to prolong your downfall, your face would be adorable to inspect when you realized you could not beat him no matter how hard you initiated.

“I hope you're not a liar, your majesty.” You said vigorously as you eyed him with skepticism.

“If you can defeat me in our bet, I'll tell you the answer you'd be glad to get. However should you fail to do this, you'll become my King Of Hearts as per our unanimity. Do you understand me, Alice?”

Your blood veins turn icy as his threat hangs.

Losing your role will mark your doom.

If you became his significant other..

You will get stuck here!

“You're.. crazy!!” You inhaled a shaky breath.

“That's excursive. Have you decided yet? What will you choose? Croquet? Hide and seek? Whatever you're confident in, I'll approve you a chance.”

Indian BL? FROM 2017????

There's an Indian BL from 2017 that I just watched. And I have incoherent thoughts

Before I continue, massive thanks to my bestie @anixknowsnothin for telling me about this show and proofreading the post for me. You don't even watch bl so I have no idea how you found this, but I'm incredibly grateful nonetheless

Here's the link to where I watched the show from, there's a glitch in the first episode subs where the subs seem to be from another show entirely, but it's only for the first ep and about 50% of the dialogue is in English anyways, so it shouldn't be hard to follow.(My ask box is also always open if there's a specific dialogue/scene in Hindi that you want the translation of)

Edit: The link seems to be region locked, so to watch it you can use a vpn and set your region to India, otherwise the episodes are available on youtube, albeit without subs

Note:- this post is going to have a few mild spoilers throughout, but I'll flag major spoilers in red

It's no secret that India is fairly behind when it comes to queer love shows if we compare it to other Asian countries. While it has a handful of great queer shows and movies, it's still quite a small quantity. Additionally, before this, I'd never watched an Indian show that felt like I was watching a bl (if you have recs, please send them my way!!). I'm not going to get into the technicalities of what feels like a bl and doesn't, because honestly, I'm not completely sure myself. For now, I'm just going based off of vibes and feelings, and this show felt like a bl through and through.

Titled 'Romil and Jugal' after its main characters, the story is a modern, desi, bl remake of the classic story...

Romeo and Juliet

Well, Bad Buddy was the first Thai bl I ever watched, so Romil and Jugal being the first Indian BL I watched just feels right, no?

I didn't actually know that the story was based off of Romeo and Juliet till the second episode, because I didn't bother looking for a synopsis, and jumped right in. However, it's links to Romeo and Juliet quickly became apparent, around the same time I started to see similarities between this show and Bad Buddy. I also did not know that this show came out in 2017 before I googled it, having already watched the entire thing, which was a pretty huge shock, because this BL is progressive by 2024 India standards.

Alright, enough of my rambling. Here's a synopsis of the show in case you haven't heard of it. (I couldn't find an official one, so I did my best to write a spoiler free synopsis)

Ramya happens to start talking to a slightly older woman at an airport, who believes that there is no romance in the younger generation. To prove her wrong, Ramya decides to tell the older woman her brother's love story. The story from the past is shown to us as Ramya narrates it to the woman in the present. Jugal is a closeted 19-year-old who lives with his parents. One day, a family moves into the house next door, and Jugal immediately falls for the son, Romil. The two of them attend the same college, and eventually become friends. The two of them eventually get together, but have to face the challenges of a homophobic society and having parents that hate each other.

I was a little skeptical of the show going in, but the show surpassed all of my expectations in the best way possible. It's no masterpiece, and it has its flaws, but it was far better than what I expected. It had both comical elements and darker themes, and it did not shy away from exploring the darker themes at all. Oh, and it has a few musical numbers. What did you expect? This is India after all.

The show is 10 episodes long, with 20 minutes per episode, and so it does unfortunately fall into some of the pitfalls that shorter shows tend to fall into, namely underdeveloped relationships and rushed endings. I did end up feeling a little bit like it didn't make sense for the pair to sacrifice and suffer as much as they did because they hadn't known each other for very long, and I felt like they should have been given more time to fall in love with each other. But it also could be argued that the show stays true to the play, and Romil and Jugal are dumb teenagers who make mistakes and stick with each other through them. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it.

One thing that I loved the show for was that it showed us that the relationship is not all sunshine and rainbows. They argue, they break up, they get back together, and they do argue even after that. But every time, they eventually work through the issue and reconcile. The show even depicts Romil dealing with internalized homophobia and struggling to reconcile with the fact that he will never be who his family wants him to be. Although I do wish they'd have had more time to explore this, I'd say it was decently depicted and handled. The show really delves into how children are forced to uphold their family's wishes and are constantly put under pressure to make them proud. Although it clearly affects both of them, it's more obvious with Romil, who is expected by his family to date and marry the daughter of his father's boss, whom they think he is dating. There's a metaphor along this theme too, where Romil pretends to like the mango shake that his mom has been making for him since he was a kid, even though he hates it, and when he tries to tell her, he has to act like it was a joke to spare her feelings. The show also goes into the communal mindset of basing your actions off "what will people think?", and you can see how a lot of the characters' actions throughout the show are haunted by this question. Some of Romil and Jugal's earlier disagreements are due to this very mindset.

The show also very candidly depicts the extreme homophobia of society in India. Romil and Jugal had to constantly hide who they were, always having to keep up a mask and I felt that reach somewhere deep inside me. When the pair come out, the show really shows how ugly homophobia can be in India. Their parents immediately disown them. They're mocked in college and wrongfully suspended for a fight that was provoked by other students. Very, very few people stand with them, and the pair very quickly realize that now that they are out, they simply cannot live in the city anymore. So with the help of Jugal's best friend and her mother, they flee to Mumbai, where they get jobs and live as paying guests with a friend of the aforementioned mother. But, even in Mumbai, the masks stay up. They have to act like cousins, for fear of being persecuted. The series depicted the worst-case scenario that so many of us live in fear of, so watching it was something of a cathartic experience for me.

Another thing that the show did quite well is showing how different people and their mindsets can be. Jugal's best friend, Ahalya, and her mom are very supportive, and they help the pair out quite a bit. Ahalya's mother provided a safe house for the pair and helped them find a fresh start. Meanwhile, Romil and Jugal's parents are incredibly homophobic. There was a scene that really stuck with me, (mild spoiler ahead, skip to the last sentence of the paragraph) where Ahalya's mother came across Jugal's mother, who prided herself on being educated and well-read, searching up how to cure homosexuality. Ahalya's mother then tells her off for calling herself educated yet believing that homosexuality is an illness. It is so important to me that the show depicted both the violent homophobia that permeates Indian society and the surprising, warm acceptance that one can find.

One final thing that I loved about this show so, so much is just how authentically Indian it feels. Asian cultures share a lot in common, but they also have their differences, so seeing a show where I can imagine encountering the characters in real life is really amazing. Rather than something big, it was little things sprinkled throughout the story that warmed my heart. The story felt like something I could hear the local aunties gossiping about. The way it depicts queerness in India hits incredibly close to home.

One thing I've learned watching Asian bls is that the ending of a show can make it or break it, but with this one, I'm stuck. The best way I can describe the ending is absolutely insane and incredibly Bollywood.

I believe this show was supposed to get a second season because the last two minutes of the show leave us with a massive cliffhanger. Now, it's been 7 years, so a second season is unlikely, so I'm simply pretending that the last two minutes of the show never happened. But the ending has so much more to it than just this (Major spoilers for the ending up ahead. I mean it when I say major, this is like going into Bad Buddy knowing that they're going to trick their parents in the end).

About halfway through the show, I remembered what play it was based upon and realized that there was a very real possibility that Romil and Jugal would die. The first half of the last episode leads up to this, telling us that they died when reconciling after an argument in the middle of the road when they were hit by a truck. We get a super emotional scene (yes, I cried) where the two families somewhat reconcile in their grief as they go to the police station to identify the bodies. Except... they're not dead, which is revealed when Romil's father hugs Romil's (not) dead body. They reveal that they planned this to show their family that they still loved their sons. I did say it was like PatPran tricking their parents in the end, didn't I? So the families reunite, Romil and Jugal get jobs in New Zealand and get married, and return to India for a wedding celebration (yes, I cried. again). The ending does feel slightly rushed, but if I'm being honest, it wasn't as terrible as it could have been. Believing that your child is dead for a bit is a somewhat justifiable reason for a sudden change of heart. There's a part where Romil and Jugal tell their parents that if they choose acceptance, they can reconcile, but if they choose to remain prejudiced, Romil and Jugal can simply get back on the stretchers, because they'll be as good as dead to their families anyways and it is *chef's kiss*.

All in all, the show was surprisingly heartfelt and poignant. It had me laughing, kicking my feet and even crying. There's a lot more about this show that I could talk about, but I'm going to stop here for now, and I'll try to write more on it later. This show really does deserve more recognition than it has, and I'm almost mad at myself for not knowing about it before. Am I being really biased when talking about this show? Absolutely. But I do think that this show is a worthwhile watch, and I'd really like to see what other people on here think of the show, especially because I'm aware that I am biased towards this show.

And reader has a different native language, English would be their second language. It would be kinda funny if the turtles (or one of them) doesn’t realize reader is a foreigner at first.

Author's note: I apologize for the long wait for this order; a lot has happened in my life. Not only did many of my childhood idols turn out to be bad people, but also my mom told me to leave home after we argued, and I poured out all my grievances to her. So, well, soon I probably won't have a place to live because my savings are too small to even rent a room. Plus, my mom took away all my painkillers, and the migraines haven't disappeared, so I'm in pain all the time.

But on the bright side, with the help of my friend, I managed to create a CV, and tomorrow I'm going to submit it to a company where I can work :D Unfortunately, I'll have to wait over a month for the tests, but it will be the first step in overcoming my fear of people.

◇Leonardo has a knack for learning languages, even if it's just basic words.

◇Thanks to Sr Hueso in his life, he's picking up Spanish. So, what's stopping him from learning your language too?

◇Btw, praise him every time he says something right; he needs that.

◇He'll also be eager to learn about cultural differences between you two. You might not seem very different, but a deeper look might reveal significant distinctions.

◇Ohohoho! National costumes? He'd gladly try them on.

◇But expect him to tease you by intentionally mispronouncing a few words or judging you based on stereotypes about people from your country.

◇If it makes you cry or get angry, he'll make sure never to do it again.

◇He likes food from your country but more as an occasional thing. If he could, he'd probably just eat pizza all the time.

◇Raph, despite not being as dumb as Leo, suspected from the start that something was up with you that you hadn't mentioned.

◇But it never occurred to him to ask.

◇He ultimately found out from his father. Indirect, but still.

Raphael sighed throatily, rummaging through his kitchen cabinets. Your ears lightly twitched at each muffled or not-so-muffled clatter of things in those cabinets.

"What are you looking for?" Their voice carried both curiosity and a hint of irritation as she added more pepperoni slices to the light pizza dough. The turtle sighed again, this time softer, closing another cabinet to look at Their.

"I can't find any cups or glasses anywhere," his gaze expressed annoyance. "Probably those idiots kept taking new dishes instead of washing theirs, and now they're hoarding a mountain of dirty ones like hamsters."

"You complain about them, but guess whose kitchen I found a bunch of dirty plates breeding a new species in?" Their laughter started to grate on his head, but despite his efforts, a smile appeared on his rough lips.

"That's different; I, um... I'm the oldest, I'm allowed!"

"Ohohoho! [Y.N], my dear!" Splinter entered the red kitchen excitedly, appearing right behind the teenager using his ninja skills. "Are you making your delicious [Most popular dish in your country] again? My mouth waters at the mere thought!"

"Er, what?" Raph had a slightly puzzled expression, hearing about such a dish for the first time. What is that even?

"Oh, unfortunately no, just regular pizza," [Y.N] replied with an apologetic look, placing the last slice of meat. "But don't worry, maybe I'll bring that tomorrow, sounds good?"

"Oh, yes, definitely!"

◇Shortly after that incident, he asked about that dish.

"Oh? That's one of the dishes from my country."

"From your country? I didn't think America had such food to offer."

"Raph, I'm not from America."

"... What?"

◇Less surprised than Leo, but still.

◇Since then, you've been explaining everything about yourself and your country to him.

◇The biggest fan of dishes from your country, especially the way you make them.

◇Raph has a simple mind, so it will take a long time before he grasps the basics of your language, but he remembers many words that he tries to use at the nearest opportunity.

◇He loves it when he says a word correctly, and you pat him on the head as a reward.

◇As for clothing... sorry, but he's too big for that.

◇BUT, you'll make him bracelets in the colors of the flag if he insists.

◇There won't be jokes about your origin; Raph is too respectful turtle for that.

Donatello

◇He's not dumb (usually), and I think he'll be the first to ask if there's anything you haven't told him.

◇Of course, what is life without a bit of fun? You denied it.

◇Thanks to that, it was a game of cat and mouse for two weeks.

◇Eventually, Donnie hacked into one of your social media accounts where you clearly stated which country you're from. If not, he just had to check the login history in different countries.

◇Of course, he got a smack on the back of the head.

(And it's very possible his brothers put him in isolation overnight, you know, that place when Splinter had a fever? Who knows.)

◇You think he won't quickly learn the basics of your language? Dude, he taught a squirrels sign language, what can't he do?

◇Thanks to that, you can talk about various topics that shouldn't be brought up around his family in your native language.

◇And as a fun fact, wanting to surprise him, you asked Shelldon to teach you binary code. The guy was amazed, and Leo wanted to perform exorcisms on you.

◇Maybe he's not as intrigued by your culture, but he wouldn't want to offend you, so if you start talking about it, he won't stop you.

◇On the other hand, he really appreciates national costumes, maybe even doing that scene with you like they were hypnotized? You won't have to ask him for long.

◇Not a big fan of your national dishes, maybe because of the consistency? Or the unusual taste?

◇He'll likely tease you about your origin, but they'll be harmless jokes.

Michelangelo

◇Silly kid. Just a silly kid.

◇Nah, kidding, it just never crossed his mind that his friend is from a different country.

◇And you found it amusing to some extent.

◇Eventually, you told him about it when he got fascinated by a painting from your country.

◇He'll also want to, this time by himself, cook some dishes from your country.

◇He burned the kitchen.

◇A total failure when it comes to learning languages, so either you give up on teaching him, or you'll need a lot of patience.

◇Relatively supportive turtle, but he won't be as mindful of your origin afterward; it'll be like it used to be with the extra toppings.

I already expect this piece to get less engagement because it's (mostly) not in English, and I'm afraid I'm still going to be more annoying and not provide a translation. As previously I will lean into making a statement Windex-style by purposefully not translating what I've written above into English just because the point of celebrating Franco-Albertan heritage month is, well, acknowledging the unique status of French in this country and how there is an expectation to conform to English in this province that needs a little challenging. Another question that languished at the bottom of the box for over a year! This was because I felt I should make a real effort to write in French, of course, but also because I struggled with the wording of the question and ultimately didn't answer it. The "most" or the "best" are very loaded terms, so I avoided answering them entirely particularly because we have several languages that risk losing native speakers and because there's a lot of bs wrapped up in what "good" french is that I'm not skilled enough to unpack (though you can read what Windex wrote on this matter earlier on this blog... And here as well).

I have to strike a balance between representing the gang here as individuals (and immortals to boot) who have a lot of time on their hands and some interest and investment in learning languages on one hand... but also as representations of "average" people on the other. Francophone travellers aren't going to find many French speakers outside of airports, national parks, or government services in this province, but it still might surprise you considering all the "everyone outside of Quebec hates French" rhetoric that politicians like to fling around. It's more complicated than that, obviously, but I can mostly talk about my own personal experience with French here. I tried to represent both the reality that Franco-Alberta exists (represented by Ed) and the stereotypical resistance to French here (represented by Calvin, though clearly he understands enough to respond here. I also just think he tries to play dumb on purpose so that others underestimate him, it's all part of the image!)

Finally, I don't speak any of the languages (Michif, Tagalog, Punjabi, Cree) represented here so I hope they pass muster for the purpose of this little comic! ;~;b I have also represented Calvin speaking Mandarin previously on this blog!

Sketchy vignette comic I did to test out some ideas. I'm not happy how wordy this ended up being! Originally there was even more but I condensed and cut some stuff away, and it's still a lot. I could've reworked this more, maybe add a few more panels or more breathing room, but I decided I don't wanna stress out too much. I'd rather have something to post than not, and I already settled on making a sketchy scene instead of anything polished.

I wanted to post this as one long strip but the file size ended up being. A bit too much.

Anyway, this is a scene that happens, like, quite a bit after the opening scene I posted some time ago. Here, they're already more familiar with each other, and have developed... a dynamic. But they get along! They both like wearing black and hate sleeves! (actually they do have a surprising amount of things they could connect over.)

I also made a fun little 3d view for Beriith's horns (here: https://vincered.net/beriith-horn-reference/) and I gotta say, it was good. I ended up cheating w/ the perspective for a more interesting silhouette, but having a reference for the base perspective helped out a lot. If you have characters with annoying horns, I highly recommend getting 3d ref set up.

Crumbs of context for the hungry: - Beriith is a demon. Val summoned him. It was an accident; she meant to summon a hellhound to accompany her on her lil journey. She ended up summoning Beriith instead, which is kinda awesome and bad because summoning "semi-human" creatures is thought to be almost impossible and also unethical. - Beriith is literally stuck with her. As in, he physically cannot move past a certain distance away from her. It's a side effect of the summoning spell; if he was a hellhound, it would be fine, but because he's, uh, a person, it's kinda awkward. Finding out a way to undo it is one of their goals

FAQ:

- Are kisses hard to draw? Yea. Especially when one character has as big a nose as Beriith does.

- What's with the reaction? Is he not into it? CONSENT?! He's super into it, actually, which is the problem. Due the circumstances of them meeting (see previous post, or find my previous comic about them) he's been trying to be a good boy for once (he is not above flirting with his employers lmao what's professionalism) and Val caught him off-guard and he's incredibly upset about it because he didn't expect to be caught off-guard.

- What's next? They pretend it never happened and never talk about it again. Val finds her aunt, they unbind Beriith, he leaves for his home country and they never see again and Val becomes an arch mage. Yeah. Let's go with that.

This is a list of the ships with at least one Black female character x at least one Asian person or performer (Instances in which the characters aren't human will count as the person portraying the character's race).

As of the 4 Year Anniversary of blackfemmecharacterdependency April 30th, 2024, I am not going to be active. I decided to simply post what I had. The list is incomplete for the foreseeable future, but everyone is welcome to add on to it. Especially because I had several ships planned that I didn't get a chance to add before I had to stop maintaining the blog.

Black + Asian (This is for People with Black and Asian in them. They aren't necessarily ship representation, but sort of are because they are a product of such relationships and may be used for FC's if you have a character of similar makeup)

Arabella tossed away her phone. Crossing her arms in frustration.

"This isn't leading anywhere. He could be anywhere, they got secret buildings in almost all countries after all.."

"Are we even sure they got him?" Yoongi gave her an inquiring look from his seat while Taehyung was lying on the other couch, cleaning his gun. "He might've fallen into some pit, not being able to stand up," he lightly chuckled then, "We were quite drunk after all." Both observing Arabella standing up then and pacing back and forth in her bathrobe.

"It's been three days though," she protested. Her gut feeling was telling her something was off and usually her gut feeling was right. And him not answering any calls is also very unlike him.

"You know, crazy to think you're the one chasing him now," Taehyung smirked then, briefly glancing up from his gun before focusing on it again, "Despite all what you've said and done in the past, it certainly seems that you can't live without him."

She huffed, propping her hands on her hips. "Oh please, don't lump me in with you two."

"Then what were you doing there with a map and your phone?"

"When someone steals your treasure you steal it back, duh."

The two guys exchanged a glance, going back to what they were doing. "Your treasure, huh?"

She groaned, rolling her eyes. "I just tried getting my point across."

"No need to push yourself," Yoongi said. Keeping himself from smirking smugly.

"I don't push myself!" she yelled as she went to the bedroom, closing the door behind her to get dressed. She let out a loud huff then. "Jimin, that stupid idiot.. he makes me look like a fool. I'm not gonna feel any better until giving him a huge slap for making me worry like this."

"Not sure if I can follow you, but I agree on the slapping part," she heard Taehyung yell from the couch. Making her blush in embarrassment. These guys had way too sensitive ears.

"Alright, let's say these guys did get him," the older guy gave in into her theory, "How should we find them? As you said, they could've taken him anywhere. And we already asked around but no on's seen him."

Before she could come up with any answer to his more-than-logical questions, a knock on the door distracted them. As they didn't expect anyone, they instantly drew their weapons and Taehyung went to the door with careful steps. Slowly cracking it open, only to find Jimin in front of him.

A wide grin spreading over his features as he sighed in relief. "Finally, we thought you got kidnapped or s-" However, Taehyung was cut off by Jimin's walter ppk pointing at him. His gaze darkening. "What are you doing?" he asked in a serious tone.

"Where's she?"

Taehyung eyed him carefully. Trying reading his mind to no avail. "Why?"

"Gotta finish something I started."

Arabella who had been listening in from the other room, held her breath. Pressing herself against the door. It was definitely his voice, but it didn't sound like him. Not at all.

What did they do to him?

"Jimin, calm down. Arabella isn't here," Taehyung lied and she mentally thanked him for that.

Jimin unlatched his gun when suddenly feekibg something cold and sharp against his back. An evil smirk tucking itself on his lips. "Was wondering where you were, Yoongi."

Yoongi had somehow did it again. Having snuck out of the window, away from their peripheral view, and back into the building to creep up behind him. The tip of his sword pressed lightly against Jimin's back.

"What happened to you?" he asked sternly. Narrowing his eyes at him.

"This has nothing to do with you two, I just want her."

"For what?"

Jimin cocked his head. "Isn't that obvious?" The mere second he peeked behind him towards Yoongi, Taehyung used it to pull out his Magnum. Aiming it at him as well. And the three were standing there now, a gun pointing at Taehyung, a gun and a sword pointing at Jimin.

"You love her, you wouldn't hurt her."

"Try me."

Yoongi and Taehyung locked gazes over Jimin's shoulder. Coming to the same conclusion as Arabella.

This wasn't Jimin. At least not his normal self.

But even so, even if something happened to their friend and he wasn't his normal self, this was still him. And they couldn't hurt him even if they tried. And Jimin knew that. He knew because they had told him so. And they had also told him to abuse that fact.

So in a quick move, he dipped down and slipped away from them, sneaking past Taehyung into the flat. And he headed straight to the bedroom, kicking the door open. Only to find it empty. The window hanging ajar. She had escaped.

"Crap," he muttered and hit the wall next to him. Not noticing Taehyung coming up behind him. Hitting his neck with his gun's shaft. Jimin was forced to his knees and Taehyung entangled his arms around his neck in an headlock.

"I don't know what the fck they did to you, but you gotta remember. Remember who she is. Who Yoongi is. Who I am. I've always been your partner, man. You didn't forget that, right?"

"Jimin, look me in the eyes," Yoongi demanded then, crunching in front of him. He examined him carefully. He could see the dullness in his stare. Scrunching his nose at him after a moment of silent stare. "For a man of your caliber to get kidnapped and brainwashed so easily like this.. I must say it's quite pathetic to see."

Jimin didn't react, however, instead he used the moment they let their guard down to grab Taehyung's arm and turned out with force. Pulling diagonally across his body to throw Taehyung towards Yoongi, freeing himself and jumping out of the open window.

The two groaned, the older guy shoving the other away from him. "For fck's sake, Taehyung, get off of me!" he whined and rolled him away.

Taehyung held his head for a moment when standing up. His eyes wandering to the dark streets outside. Exhaling deeply, he closed his eyes.

'"Hey, you're that new kid in class!" Jimin exclaimed chuckling, his eyes then falling to the suitcase on the table. "My, my, what's that? A deal?" He smirked, stepping over the railing deviding the upper and lower part of the café.

"None of your business," Taehyung huffed, shutting the lid. "What's a rich brat like you doing here anyway? Shouldn't you be home in your big mansion? It's getting dark outside."

Much to his surprise, Jimin began laughing loudly. Seemingly amused and not offended at all. "Your image of me is quite funny, I must say. But I gotta disappoint you." He eyed the pretty singer on the small stage, a woman around her mid-twenties, who was arguing quietly with a gorilla. "I wanted to propose a job to you instead?"

"A job?" Taehyung arched a brow at him, laughing sarcastically. "Not interested in any job coming from you."

"Oh, c'mon," Jimin grinned, "It'll be fun!"

"And what job is it?"

"Help me help this lady." He motioned with his chin to the stage. The pretty singer seemed upset and scared by whatever the man wanted her to do.

"And what will I gain from that?"

"Didn't you say it yourself? I'm a rich brat. My dad's never home and I live in that big house alone. With all his money. I'll pay you with some of that."

Taehyung eyed him carefully and with a curious glare. Uncertain whether his classmate meant it or not. However, there wasn't much time to contemplate the offer since the gorilla pulled out a gun to the woman. Taehyung instictively drawing his own -or well, the one his dad had given him. Making Jimin smirk.

"Great. I see we reached an agreement."

That was in middle school. And ever since the two had been inseperable. Until now, as it seemed since Jimin seemed having forgotten it all.

He clenched his jaw, taking his phone out.

"Who are you calling?"

"The only person who can help us right now," Taehyung sighed and pressed the phone on his ear. Waiting for the dial tone to stop. "Hey, pops? Seems like we need you.."

The car rushed through the wets streets, water splashing on the asphalt.

Jimin held his forehead as he turned into a sidestreet. His head throbbing, feeling like exploiding any minute as snippets of memories and different voices swirled inside it. Fragments that came out of nowhere and without context.

Suddenly the image of his father appearing in front of his mind's eye. A stern look on his face.

"I don't want you to become like your grandpa and me. You should become a lawful citizen instead."

The rain's soft tapping became louder while hitting the windshield. The voices growing louder.

His grandfather appearing this time, pretty women surrounding him as usual. A smug grin on his lips. "If you wanna become my true heir you need to train harder on your skills! Way harder!"

And he saw himself, his 14-year old self. Angry and frustrated. Throwing pebbles against the mansion's walls. "I don't wanna do what others tell me, what my family tells me! I wanna make my own decisions!"

The car came to an abrupt halt in an alley and he got out. Not even registering how the cold rain was wetting his clothes. His head was aching too much and he wanted to scream, holding it in both hands as he sunk to the ground.

"You must kill Arabella Valentine," a female voice suddenly echoed in his head. "You must make her pay for all the times she got away with your prey. For all the times she betrayed and left you behind."

"I can tell you aren't in your right mind."

His eyes shot open and he glanced up. Seeing no one but Arabella standing there. He wasn't sure if it was a hallucination caused by the pounding pain or if it was indeed her. Heavy rain drops rolling down her cheeks.

"What are you doing here?" he spat. His voice weak and tired. His aching head not dying down.

"I followed you, duh," she huffed and he noticed the motorbike behind her. "You looked like you were about to do something stupid. And I was right."

A dry laugh escaped his numb lips. "Leave or I'll shoot you."

She blinked, taken aback for a moment, however, remained stiff in her position. "You wouldn't shoot me," she simply stated with confidence, "And besides, in your condition you couldn't even shoot at a wall. Let alone me. Even if you wanted to."

Arabella wasn't scared. She could see he was struggling, and exhausted. The grey rings under his puffy eyes saying it all. Something happened to him and she was determined to find out what.

"Why wouldn't I?"

"Because I know you. This isn't your real self right now."

Both held their gazes. The rain pouring down at them from the black sky, drenching them and everything around them.

"Maybe you're wrong. Maybe that's the real me after all."

"'Real you'? So are you saying the Jimin I've known all these years was fake?"

He slowly stood up. Legs shaking slightly as he was propping himself against the car. "Stop it."

She pressed her lips together and took a step forward. "Is it so hard to trust me?"

"You mean after all the betrayals?"

"Is that all you remember of me?" Her voice broke at the end, holding a hint of hurt. "Can't you remember anything else?"

Silence followed. The only noise being the rain piercing the air and hitting the ground. And she understood, finally. He could indeed only remember that. He'd got brainwashed. And she knew by who.

She exhaled deeply, closing her eyes. "Then go ahead. Kill me."

This was indeed not Jimin. This wasn't the man she loved. The person in front of her might actually be capable of killing her after god-knows-with-what they had inflicted his mind.

Much to her surprise, however, all she felt was a light push on her shoulder. And she opened her eyes. Seeing he had shoved her aside and simply walked away. Causing her to frown. "Hey!" she yelled over the rain. Grabbing his wrist to stop him in his tracks. She went in front of him then, blocking his way.

"Step aside."

"No." Her voice stern as she approached him. "You should know I'm the only person in the world who can claim you, not them." Her eyes holding sadness in them and she cupped his cheek with one hand, drawing closer to him. And they closed. Her lips touched his as her other arm wrapped around his waist. Kissing him deeply in hopes of making him remember, anything. Her finger clutching the soaked fabric of his jacket more, pressing herself against him.

But she couldn't feel any reaction from him. So she slowly let go and opened her eyes. Seeing him simply staring ahead with a blank expression. He hadn't moved. He hadn't even closed his eyes.

And her heart broke. Watching him silently brushing past her and disappearing around the corner.

I haven't watched a second of SPN since the finale aired. The finale retroactively destroyed the entire show for me. I literally threw out all my SPN merch the next day. Donated it all to a thrift store. I was so embarrassed. I unfollowed everyone (except Misha Collins) associated with the show the moment the last episode finished. I just didn't want anything more to do with it. I still find it hard to believe they really made that episode and allowed it to be broadcast. Blows my mind to think people were paid actual money to write and produce that. They frickin risked their lives (!!!) to make it. Imagine if they'd all gotten COVID and died in Vancouver, unable to see their families one last time, alone in COVID isolation wards, unable to hold funerals (if their bodies would've even been allowed back into the country).. and for what? The shittiest episode of television ever made. Oof.

I remember my friend (who knew I was dreading the finale) asked me the next day "so, how was it?" and I just replied "IT WAS SO MUCH WORSE THAN I EVEN IMAGINED."

Like, I was *expecting* it to be bad. I was *prepared* to be disappointed. But I was NOT ready for it to be SO bad that I would immediately retroactively disown the entire show and everyone associated with it out of sheer existential embarrassment.

Reading this is so sad because its so close to my experience. I didnt have a lot of merch, but the merch i did have was either thrown out or shoved in the back of my wardrobe never to see the light of day again!

That finale really did a number on us didnt it? Over 3 years later and it still hurts my heart when I think about it too much.

It really was the worst thing ive ever seen. Ive seen some pretty bad TV but omg nothing will ever top that. Its maddening that anyone could sign off on that absolute garbage as if it was worth anything more than being cast into holy fire and condemmed to the 7th circle of hell.

Its funny, I'm so weary and apprehensive about starting new media since then. Its impossible to trust storytellers especially anything made by those involved with spn. I have kept my heart so guarded since then and refuse to fall into fandoms that dont already have a known ending. The only reason i allowed myself to get super into Sandman is because the story is complete, and we all know Good Omens will get a happy ending. Anything else for me is either one off mini series, or shows that have already aired in full.

I want to love Dead Boy Detectives when it comes out. I dont know how that story will end though I suppose there are comics already for it that I can look into. Also Steve Yockey was one of the few gems of SPN and I'm happy that his ghost has partnered with Neil Gaiman to make something that looks really decent. Steve Yockeys SPN episodes were always meta masterpieces of metaphor and symbolism and so I hope it'll build a meaty fandom to get excited about.

Then again the apprehension and fear remains, because SPN finale trauma prob wont ever go away. You cant invest years of your life devoted to those characters only to have them destroyed to dust before your eyes and come out unscathed.

I hope over time the feelings we hold about it get easier to deal with, especially as we move on to new stories, new fandoms, and new characters to love. But SPN the show is very much dead to me, and this time it wont resurrect.

Thoughts on the State of Play reveal

Under a readmore just in case

1- I know I said I'd keep the Son*dow tag blocked for a bit after Prime ended but I think I'll keep it blocked till the end of the year now lmao

2- I know the rumor has been going around since yesterday but I took it with a grain of salt since it's. Yknow. A rumor. But even when I let myself think 'what if its real tho' this is SO FAR FROM WHAT I EXPECTED. A!!! I thought at most we'd get is a remaster that'd also make Shadow playable! As soon as I saw the new level I was like WAIT WHAT. WAIT WHAT!!?!? and it just kept going from there!!!

I'm so happy we'll be getting a HD biolizard fight! He'll no longer be contained to the 3DS! Also from what little we saw Shadow will get to have some dynamic posing in the boss fights, like Super Sonic did in Frontiers. Good! I loved those!

3- Ian Flynn has #KnowingSmile'd the announcement and I'm hoping this means he got to write for whatever new content there is.

And speaking of Frontiers! I'm hoping that this ends up being Shadow's 'Frontiers' moment. In that his writing and character get what Amy's, Tails', and Knuckles' did in Frontiers.

4-I had the stream off to the side in another tab since I wasn't interested in most of what was shown. And then I heard the first few notes of the Generations music and i immediately switched tabs and I just!!! Feel like I did in 2011 except my computer/internet is way better, and you tube is shittier!

5- I'm excited for this for such Me reasons. For those new here- I live in a country that had no Sonic stuff for...well, never, really. Not until about 2022. The second movie did what I'd hoped the first movie would do (but then the pandemic happened) and brought over Sonic stuff here. For the first time in my life I went to a toy store here and it had Sonic stuff. I got to buy physical Sonic comics for the first time. For the first time in my life I can go to a video game store and actually see Sonic games there. It's been wild

That being said, 2011 had Nothing. Sonic Generations came out. And I didn't want to pirate it because a friend of mine had worked on it. I was determined to find it. And I only saw it irl one time- for the Playstation. A console I've never had. It was pretty upsetting! I remember posting about it here even....I've been on tumblr too long SHDGSHDHS

Later I'd find that there was a 3DS version. I have that! So I looked for that version of it alongside the PC one

So, for almost a decade, I looked, to no avail. And for this whole time I refused to look at any playthroughs! Any knowledge I had on whats in the game came from the trailers we saw

And then in 2019 my best friend helped me buy the 3DS version. I had 9 dollars on my 3DS and whenever the game went on sale it'd be on for 10 dollars. So he gave me a dollar and helped me get it SHDGSHDH

So I finally experienced Generations! It was surprise after surprise in that one, because I knew it was different but I didn't know how. I didn't expect a Rush level in it, or for the Biolizard to be in there!

And then in late 2020 when I got my new computer and could finally get steam, another close friend got me Generations for the PC! I'd somehow managed to dodge spoilers on it all those years so all I knew about it was: Theres Green Hill, Chemical Plant, City Escape, and a Silver boss fight.

I got to play modern City Escape for myself- which is the level that inspired the current iteration of my main OC, Storm. It was a joy

All this rambling to say...it's wild to think that once this remaster comes out, I'll be able to get it day 1, at least I hope I will. Still-it won't take me almost a decade to get to it

And if there's a physical release? I'll be able to go to a store here- HERE, not in one of our neighboring countries, not from somewhere else, but in a store here. Right across the street. And I'll finally have a physical copy of Generations. That was my final goal with the game-- I love it, I have two versions of it! And the plan was always that even though I'd gotten to play them now, if I ever ran into a physical copy of the game, I'd buy it. And now I'll really get to do it

Hello! I've been wanting to ask you this for some time now... who is that Mika guy you talk about? Is it the anime cartoon thing you post sometimes? Is it a videogame? A comic? Why do you like him so much?

It makes me feel old haha because it is completely out of all the other fandom things I see around and I'm super confused, as if it came from a different universe lol

Oh no i hope it didn't make you feel old in a bad way or anything😭 don't worry about it, i feel like in our countries, ensemble stars isn't really much of a thing yet? Games like that in general. Even if they were, enstars is region-locked and all.

But yeah, Mika is from a mobile rhythm game! It's p much a rhythm game like any other, tho it being a "free" mobile game, it does have gacha mechanics </3 it's fun tho and Mika is my Absolute Fave because he's just so [holds him gently] [proceeds to squeeze him until his eyes pop out]

We had a survey that asked the same question of "why is your fave your fave" and it really is smth i could write essays on, but, to keep it short, he's a Freak and i do love creepy wet freaks in fiction. He has read the Mabinogion in middle English, but doesn't know who Chaplin is. He loves horror movies and is said to draw eroguro. He dumpsterdives in his free time, finding thrown away plushies, mending them and keeping them. All of his pajamas are similarly just clothes he got out of the rubbish and mended (thrifty king tbh) He speaks in a dialect commonly associated with comedians and considered a "hick" dialect and he's often talked about the split between what people expect him to act like (funnyman extrovert) vs how he actually is (shy introvert) and how he ends up looking because of that (aloof/stuck up). He is simply everything to me. And he's so weird... 😭💞 he thought he accidentally killed his roommate and proceeded to almost bury him alive in the dorm courtyard. Has said he sleeps better after looking at "scary pictures"😭

He's just my little meow meow tbh he likes creepy-cute and even he himself has that sort of gap going on, bc he's generally a rather adorable guy, he made a brooch for his best friend bc she wasn't able to buy one she liked, he really wants to prove himself as an artist both in terms of music and designing/sewing and he seems to be growing a spine as of recent (i don't wanna like. Confuse you by bringing up lore, but it's also one of the things that have me going heart eyes, in early stories he was fine being treated like a doll to be puppeteered, but he's "learning to be human" as of recent and has made really good steps, incl yelling at and threatening to throw away his former puppeteer's prized possession + implying he'll beat him up bc he threw away smth of his without asking), but he's also had those moments of "what the hell" like when he threatened to either kill himself or his unitmate's future spouse if he ever gets married, or when he threw a tantrum because said unitmate was paying more attention to a literal 15yo than him.

I think he's neat tbh a combination of his aesthetic being creepy-cute, his unit's aesthetic leaning into steampunk (both of which are so 💞💞 to me), him being a dialect-speaker, and then the fact that he's the "aww he's so cute [gets to know him] oh he's a little bit fucked up" type just really appeals to me. And his hidden intellect, there's a lotta moments where you can just tell that he's Actually Intelligent, but he's the first who'll say stuff like "sorry i dropped my brains somewhere" and call himself dumb. Personally, I interpret it as either him leaning into stereotypes associated with his dialect considering the "i feel like i let people down when they find out what i'm like bc they expect me to be totally diff bc of the way i speak" or him not liking having responsibilities so he tries to "i'm too dumb to do this on my own" his way out of the possibility of disappointing people by failing.

Hi, sorry for troubling you. Actually I need some advice. If you think I’m too much of a nuisance please ignore me. I don't know other country’s history (not that I know much about mine). A few weeks ago I came across a post that the writer had used some historical terms to justify a character’s behavior. It had nearly 100 likes and seemed legit and persuasive like she was very knowledgeable but it sounded off to me. Those were just eliminable comic relief scenes and the character was caricaturistic. A human with a healthy mental state, average IQ, and a little sense of social grace wouldn’t act like that. The writer’s tone was hostile, too and she turned an accuracy question into a moral one. She liked that character so much that didn't even try to hide her anger. Even though the asker was anon she implied that she/he is a sucker for pretty boys and a misogynist. How would she know? I was convinced that something was off and with no hope of getting an answer, I emailed a history website and ask them if she was right, the reply was really surprising. Not just the character and those scenes but many other things are imaginary and her interpretations of those terms and conclusions are false. They told me that even the literature from that era can’t be trusted or used as reliable sources because it’s the nature of fiction to be fanciful and misleading. I sent the email to her adding nothing, assuming she’d feel guilty for implanting false knowledge in fans, but she said she had no time for haters. I don’t know anybody on Tumblr or that fandom, and no one would believe an outsider. They are already satisfied with the lies. If one cares about the truth, one searches for it. Even so, is there anything I should do? Do I have any obligation to do anything? Thank you.

Hey Anon! You are not a nuisance at all :)) although, to be honest, it's hard to give advice when I'm not fully aware of the situation you're asking about.

From my understanding, you disagree with how a blogger justified a character's behavior in a work of fiction, which was done by quoting wrong historical facts, therefore providing false information to other fans, and you're wondering how to rectify it? I hope I understood properly?

To start with, I'm sorry to say that this happens very often in fandoms across the internet.

Browsing through the internet, you will always find people who do not share similar views about characters, theories, world building, romance, authors' inspirations, etc leading to a huge gap amongst fans, depending on who agrees on what.

The reason why that exists is because people aren't always neutral when reading, therefore their opinions and expectations can color the story they read in a certain way, leading to some misconception and bias.

This literally happened in every fandom I know, so the first thing I would advise is to keep in mind that, even with good arguments, you cannot always change the mind of everyone you disagree with, because everyone reads/watches a story through a personal lens.

In other words, pick your battles: what do you accept to disagree on and what do you think is unacceptable misconception? That's for you to decide and to act on, knowing that even with good and reasonable arguments, some people just won't take your side.

Speaking of which, as a second advice: you strongly disagree with the original poster and you really don't want to let it go? Well, act on it !

Friendly reminder that, from the moment you're acquainted with a series and you enjoy it, then you already belong in its fandom. Who cares if you just joined Tumblr or if you just discovered this series? You're as much a fan as anyone else and you have a right to your opinions, just like anyone else.

So, what to do? Open the debate by reblogging the post and explain to the original poster why you disagree with her, by detailing your arguments.

Nowadays, not a lot of people comment or reblog posts anymore to offer additional thoughts: they'd rather hide behind anon mode but anonymity doesn't always allow for an open debate, on the contrary!

Myself as a blogger who receives some anon asks, I can guarantee you that I'm always nicer and more open to discussion if someone comes to me off anon, especially if it's to disagree with something I said. Because I put a blog's name on an idea and it brings a lot more humanity in the discussion. :)

Additionally, some people also think that disagreeing means being disrespectful, but that's not the case at all. You can always peacefully and kindly explain to someone why you disagree with them.

So gear up and be brave ! You disagree and it's important to you to explain why? Well, state your opinion high and loud with your blog's name, like a proud of fan of whatever series or character this is about. And again, even if you don't change their mind, that's okay, at least you stated what you had to say and that's what matters.

Lastly though, a word of caution.

As I was saying above, I think unfortunately anonymity in asks is used way too often and bloggers are from time to time fed up with getting asks or opinions without a name to address directly.

Additionally, a lot of asks are sent without necessarily taking the time beforehand to check whether or not the blogger was open to discussion on different subjects in the first place. Hence the hostile tone in answers from time to time.

Take my blog as an example: after ten years on this site, there are certain subjects that I either won't ever want to discuss or some opinions on some characters that I'm beyond fed up with. So anyone barging into my askbox as an anon on either aspects will end up deleted or blocked or maybe answered with a rather hostile tone, because I already stated my opinion ten, twenty or thirty times.

Sure it's not very nice and it doesn't please me to answer this way if I even answer, but I believe, as far as I'm concerned, that it's stated very plainly and often, enough so that people would know if they bothered to check for a second before sending an ask.

So I understand that the hostile tone and the misogyny allegations that you're describing aren't pleasing, but be sure to check why the hostility exists in the first place: is it really that the original poster is narrow-minded and can't be reasoned with ? Or is it that they are often faced with anons who don't bother acknowledging what she said in the past before asking ? Because that will definitely factor into how open-minded the original poster will be if you go for a debate.

TL;DR You can always disagree and discuss why with anyone in any fandom. However, choose your fights and, mostly, choose your weapons well:

state your opinions with your blog's name, in a reblog or in a comment, and definitely not as an anon, if you want to be taken as seriously as possible

always check beforehand about the blogger you want to debate with, so that you can understand who you're talking to a little bit better

be respectful as you disagree and all will go well

SEPTEMBER 10TH

I continued to draw today. After doodling for a while, I felt that I was ready to work on new Pokémon Pocket Web Comics. It's a fitting task, considering this Friday will mark the webcomic's 5th anniversary. (Yes. It HAS been that long since I started to draw comics again.)

In Pokémon Violet, I was training Grand Orchid to evolve into Arboliva. While I was still in the area, I caught some of the remaining Pokémon in the Paldea Pokédex.

This one was not one of them. Sometime later, I traded him to someone else in exchange for a shiny Braixen.

Back to Grand Orchid, we easily took out Ampharos with a new tactic.

After Ampharos was knocked out, Grand Orchid finally evolved into Arboliva.

His stats are top-notch, as expected. And he'll get even better with more training. Sadly, that's going to have to wait until later. Right now, it's onto the last two Pokémon in the Pokédex!

I think you've given me enough Big Nuggets for now. Any more than that, and I'll be an even richer man than I am now.

My first search put me on the path of Ting-Lu. I began searching around Casseroya Lake when I found another camper. Unlike the other ones, the only thing this guy shared with me was a new sandwich recipe.

Say that to the people who thought combining sushi and pizza was a good idea.

I eventually found some stakes on some of the lake's islands. Which were enough for me to reawaken Ting-Lu.

My next obvious destination was the shrine. To my surprise, it wasn't located inside a cave and was outdoors for everyone to see.

I could have saved my Master Balls for other Pokémon. But I didn't want to waste any time with these guys. It took a few tries. But I was able to get a Ting-Lu with the right stats.

I was lucky to get this one before my usual study time.

After I finished studying, I started to look for the last Pokémon I needed, Chi-Yu. While looking for one of the stakes, I found this cave entrance. I expected to find one in there and came across some TMs instead. Oddly enough, these TMs were the ones used for the ultimate moves.

Since these are Technical Machines, I thought that Mew was finally able to learn these powerful moves. And sure enough, it can.

Future series are going to riot over this...

After I nabbed the TMs, I found the remaining stakes needed to reawaken Chi-Yu.

I remembered the location of its shrine and ran off to Fury Falls to catch it.

I still don't understand why a Fire-type would be placed in an area with water. Why? Is it because it's a fish?

After some trial and error, I was able to catch a Chi-Yu with the perfect stats and finish the Paldea Pokédex 3 days before the release of The Teal Mask update.

Even though I completed the Pokédex, I'm not sure where I'll get my diploma, considering GAME FREAK's staff isn't in this game.

Which is pretty much useless in a country like this since there aren't any Ultra Beasts to catch.

Or maybe I DO know where to get a diploma for my Pokédex.

Master of Puppets

Prologue

Warnings: none (I really think there is nothing for now but feel free to tell me if you've found something)

Also English is not my first language, so apologies in advance for any mistakes, also there is some Russian in it and I don't really know Russian so there might be some bad translations...

"Do you really think that Enzo, or Dmitri, or whatever his real name is, could be in danger?" asked Joyce, sitting in the passenger seat, watching the ex-police chief.

"Well, they found me too" Murray leaned in from the back seat "so there's a good chance that your dear comrade could be in trouble too."

"They have a collective consciousness Joyce" Hopper broke his gaze for a moment from the country lane they were bumbling along, "They found Murray too, and the ones that could have seen him must be dead. What one sees or senses, the good god above us doesn't know how these things hunt, the others memorize, store up, or hell knows what they do. One thing's for sure, once they catch a scent, they don't stop."

"So you're almost certain your Russian friend is in danger" said El, who had been sitting in silence behind Murray all this time.

"It would be an overstatement to call him a friend" Jim began, "but yes, I'm almost certain he's in real danger."

"You could have said that, you didn't need the frills" Joyce leaned back in her seat.

"Because a simple answer was always enough for you" Hopper looked at her with a faint smile.

They were driving for another one and a half hours on the bumpy and forestry road when they finally caught sight of the cabin. It wasn't too big but more than enough for one person to live there comfortably and as they could see the russian man has done a really good job of plastering his temporary home.

"Let's ruin his little vacation" Hopper got out of the car with a sigh and could no longer see Joyce rolling her eyes.

They knocked on the door for the third time before it finally opened and they were staring down the barrel of a gun.

"We're glad to see you, too" Hopper said, as the very tense man in front of him exhaled the breath he had been holding and lowered the gun. Behind Hopper, Murray grinned broadly, Joyce waved to the Russian in a friendly manner, and last but not least, El, standing close beside her father, eyed the man suspiciously.

"Your daughter?" he asked nodding towards the teenager, to which Hopper just nodded. "You should have called" Antonov stepped aside to let his four guests in "you gave me a heart attack."

"You have nothing to worry about" Murray smiled and without question immediately settled himself in one of the surprisingly comfortable armchairs.

"I'm a Russian citizen on American land, who, incidentally, was a guard in a Soviet prison where, on occasion, Americans were also imprisoned" Dmitri looked the other man straight in the eye, who only replied with a half-smile and a shrug.

"We have a good reason for barging in on you" Joyce began, trying not to overhear the exchange that had taken place seconds before.

"Before you get started, there is something…"

"I couldn't find it in the toolbox, are you sure it's…?" the newcomer was caught in the middle of her question when she saw that she was being watched by four more pair of eyes than the one she had expected. It was a girl, no older than Joyce's eldest son Jonathan, her dark eyes, almost comically wide with surprise, were almost black, her brown hair was in a loose ponytail at the back of her head, a few stray strands hanging down her cheeks, she must have been nearly as tall as the woman in the ragtag group.

That Hopper and his companions were surprised by the newcomer was not an understatement, but she, too, was struck by the strangers' presence. She looked at Dmitri with panic filled eyes, her breathing already accelerated. She looked like she was about to run away, when the russian reached his hand towards her.

"Все в порядке, Маленький (It's alright Little One)" he said reassuringly but she still didn't look convinced. "Они друзья (They're friends.)"

"Friends?" she asked in a small voice as she walked over to him. Dmitri just nodded and took the girls hand and that moment even he couldn't decide if it was because he wanted to calm her down or because he was worried she would run away.

"What the hell is going on?" asked the ex-chief which made the girl flinch and the russian was starring at the american disapprovingly.

"You first" Dmitri said in a voice that brooked no argument.

Soooooooooooo prologue finally...

The next chapter will be a flashback where we gonna find out how that strange, unknown girl ended up in Dmitri's place.

What do you think about some of Asoiaf antagonists like Euron , Littlefinger , Varys , bloodraven Tywin , Roose?

some controversial opinions!

i like a lot of these antagonists actually! euron is one of my faves, absolutely unhinged and genuinely scary? one of the few undeniably evil characters george included in the books, like, i don't think euron has one redeeming quality to his name. but he's sort of mesmerizing? his actions make me sick but also leave me wanting more?? also he can be really funny and full of shit, which makes characters more enjoyable for me. love euron!!! hope lord leyton whoops his arse!!!! (fervently praying to the seven) euron is The One villain i couldn't possibly woobify even if i tried, so props to him he truly is *the one by shakira starts playing*

littlefinger & varys i can't really stand. i appreciate them for comic relief (always down for a good joke) but their meddling in westerosi affairs i find very exhausting & pugnacious. like, i realise everyone is out here for themselves, so, in that sense, them being self-serving shouldn't bother me the way it does, but i can't with these two. littlefinger is a naked opportunist and, while i can admire that trait in other characters, his sleaziness and lack of charisma put me off, so into the trash bin he goes.

varys i have an even bigger problem with. generally-speaking sanctimoniousness and moral righteousness are triggers for me and i can't really stand characters that are Like That. i legit fight with people who exhibit those traits in real life, like, i am an aries so i do not back down lol you'll die with me around your neck. there has to be something else in that character to balance out these things that annoy me, i guess, but varys didn't manage to make the cut, bc that is the entirety of his personality, i'm afraid. this may ruffle some feathers but i think that his scheme with young griff, real or not, is essentially morally bankrupt, in that he's out there role-playing the head of a research institute sending out his agents into the world to carry out this political experiment that may or may not work, but will have a huge body count regardless. it's very callously cynical to me, but he expects to be congratulated on how ideologically pure and morally unsullied he is - i think that's what drives me up the wall.

i know that people really want young griff to be real but varys' grand master plan is to destabilize a country, intentionally plunge it into a civil war that'll get a lot of people killed, in order to facilitate what would be another war of conquest undertaken under aegon vi's banners. instead of trying to actively improve the lives of the common people, since he's on the small council. he's still focusing on power plays and on plots with this brainwashed belief that he's doing it for the good of the people. but is he? he doesn't even know young griff. what if he turns out to be some bad apple; how is varys to know? idk i just cannot get behind it. and i don't think the author will eventually condone this message or plot as righteous either bc i don't see how aegon's reign will last. i think varys is the type of person dead-set in their belief that their actions are for The Greater Good in a the-ends-justify-the-means kind of way, but, ultimately what he truly cares more about is being Right TM - i.e. having his hypothesis proven to be true. clinical, cold researcher/mad scientist vibes.

for roose bolton i couldn't possibly mount a defense even if i were so inclined, but i do enjoy him as a character. i think he's very funny? lmao this sounds very obnoxious after i just tore varys a new arsehole but roose is unquestionably a villain, so there's no need to pretend like he's contributing to the good of society or anything. whereas with varys there is that element to him, perhaps why i find him annoying and roose i do not. roose has some great one-liners - he was funny in the show and he's funny on the page. absolutely awful but enjoyable for what he is.

for tywin i will not be writing any significant meta until i wrap up my last phd chapter and do a proper re-read bc i do not have energy to get into that disk horse right now. i know people hate him but yes he is one of my faves. with tywin i find that he generates three types of commentaries - either people hate his guts and see everything he does in a villainous lens or he attracts the sort of dudebro fan who idolizes the ground he walks on in a v silly way. the third way is the few people who might want to attempt to see him as more three-dimensional, but, because they don't want to get attacked, they preface their commentaries with disclaimers and apologies and messages that they absolutely do not condone his actions, so much so that the observations kind of get lost along the way. i'm neither. i want enlightened centrist meta on tywin lannister. i'm a chill tywin enjoyer, an aficionado of Machiavelli deconstructions. i'd lighten up the mood a little with my quirky takes. but anyway i don't really have time for that kind of fight and tywin himself would tell me to stop procrastinating and get my work done so i'll have to listen to Daddy i guess!!!

EDIT: oohhh i forgot about bloodraven. i'm gonna be contrarian about this one bc i really don't like it when george shoves his fave characters down my throat. i can FEEL that he really wants me to like bloodraven and the blackwoods, just like he wants me to like daemon the rogue prince. and it's annoying sorry old man. i don't think bloodraven is supposed to be written as 100% evil (george wouldn't do that to one of his faves) so his human life is supposed to be guided by some moral principles - i believe that he believed he was servicing the realm with his anti-blackfyre stance and surveillance regime and i believe that even the author intends that to be true to some extent. however, i can't say the same thing about his time as a magical tree. that's just some creepy AF shit. his luring of bran, i see that as magical corruption. bran is mostly a victim in all of this, but he is kind of tainted for me as a character now, bc i don't see how anyone could be 'redeemed' after dabbling in dark magicks like that, willingly or unwillingly. it would feel like a betrayal to how magic has been approached in the books so far - like a force you have to pay a high price for if you want to access it & not necessarily a bringer of peace and harmony either. that being said!!! if we ever got a blackfyre timeline show & bloodraven was played by this dark, sylphidine, mysterious, brooding albino twink......................i am not immune!
