#lately I've been thinking of telling my sister off and cutting her out of my life

There's this post I keep trying to write about listening to the mountain goats at work but it comes down to it being the only music I would feel comfortable being "caught" listening to. And that opens up a whole can of worms about where that comes from, which you wouldn't necessarily think - like usually it's like "ahaha I wouldn't be caught dead listening to this" - but it's most of my music taste and I managed to realise where it comes from.
My sister would put me down and belittle me for things like that. Like we used to play a lot of SingStar 80's, but there was one time - like legit the only time in years of us owning the game - where I went to sing "I Want to Know What Love Is" by Foreigner, and she teased me by saying "hahaha, [mallard] wants to know what love is!" and making me feel really embarrassed and shitty for just wanting to play that part of the game.
And that was how she approached pretty much anything that would make me look vulnerable. Like the reason I had never tried to play that song before is because it was something I thought she'd pick on me for, which she then eventually did. She mocked me for YouTube videos I watched sometimes, or for crying at a movie one time. She even managed to turn me saying that I was reading into some weird, gross jeer about how I said I was "breeding", like what the fuck right?
So if I'm at work by myself and I can put some music on, I put the Mountain Goats on because if someone walked in, I would feel less ashamed being caught listening to that than most of my music library. And I like the Mountain Goats, but I hate that I can't let go of that shame or insecurity because it's too much to deal with. That embarrassment is amplified by the thought of being judged as harshly as I have been for my interests and behaviours in the past.
#messyposting#there are times where I've said and done some fucked up things but my entire childhood was enveloped by being bullied#i was bullied at school and then I was bullied at home. and she would go 'i protected you from bullies!'#and to her credit she did protect me a few times. she probably protected me plenty of times I didn't know about#but it doesn't excuse the constant mockery and shame. it doesn't excuse her ruining one of my new years by choking me#it was for like two seconds but it shocked me to the point of silence. which was the point because my excitement got on her nerves#she was a closeted lesbian with undiagnosed bpd - and I'm applying that from like age 8 to her eventual 20s - but it doesn't change things#i feel sorry for her hardships but the treatment I got at home was scarring and horrible#she's not the only source of that - we have a mutual dislike of our mother's partner - but she's a huge factor in it#and she *still* makes fun of me and laughs it off as 'you'd do the same to me'#like no I fucking wouldn't. i grew up#I'm cutting her out of my life. I just am#I used to spend entire days just consumed by these thoughts of fending away my former best friend#as he tries to rationalise his way back into my life against my wishes#lately I've been thinking of telling my sister off and cutting her out of my life#refusing to let her see my home and just screaming at her to stay out of my life#literally all of this started with a Tumblr post about how the mountain goats are a good band to listen to at work. at least to yourself#it was like 'tmg are the only band I like to listen to at work' and I was gonna break down why. and then it hit me why#yeah that's the repressed shame that comes from a lifetime of bullying and being put down and othered all the time#most of all from someone at home because you have no escape

The world needs guitarist winter!! 🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥 (i die a little each time i see her with a guitar)
AGREE!!! everyday that has passed since 230225 winter playing guitar at synk hyper line in seoul for the first time has just been me trying to recover and seek guidance bc damn, she ruined my life and it's all I've been able to think about
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
content - rockstar guitarist!winter, best friend's sister!winter, dom!winter, includes txt members (beomgyu and yeonjun) and giselle, song references, smut (messy and wild sex, slight degradation, fingering, cunnilingus, strap-on usage, choking, breeding kink, quickies, squirting, vibrator usage, semi-public sex/voyeurism)
wc - 3122
a/n - a loaded one since it's been a while. I had sm fun writing this in general, but especially a certain part (I think u'll be able to tell when u get there), I was laughing my ass off so fking hard. also I just got a haircut that's very wolf-cut-y so it helped a whole bunch to get into writing this lol, committed to the bit!
winter's a damn good guitarist.
she's fuckinggg hotttt too when she plays and she knows it. watched a vid of her recently doing her guitar solo during girls and after the final riff she smirked at the camera and I LITERALLY COMBUSTED DEAR LORD.
anyway, I imagine her in a rock band, one with beomgyu, and they're both just the hot, wolf-cut, dark emo guitarists. you're the lead singer and front man of the band and were the reason the band formed in the first place. you were besties with beomgyu and you two wrote and composed music from time to time, always having the idea of a band as a passion project at the back of your minds.
eventually, gyu recruited his sister, minjeong. the three of you worked together diligently, recruiting yeonjun as a drummer who knew and dragged along aeri as a bassist. it was truly a dream come true, getting to pursue what you're passionate about the most with your best friend and a group of people just as enthusiastic as you were.
though, it was hard to focus with such a pretty girl like kim minjeong breathing down your neck at all times. you, beomgyu, and minjeong would primarily work together on music, usually going from the afternoon until after midnight hours. while minjeong was only a few months older than your best friend, she'd boss him around and push him to go home, saying it was late and that their mom needed to see at least one of them to know they were okay. he'd groan and complain about it, especially since you and him were the main collaborators for songs and were the best when you were together, but she'd always promise to take good care of you, whatever that meant (huehuehue).
beomgyu cares more about you as a little sister than he does his own sister so when he gets confirmation that she'll take care of you, he accepts it and goes home early, leaving you and minjeong in the studio alone. you bite your lip as you watch the door close, your friend leaving you behind with her.
"just you and me now, huh pretty?" the girl leans into you on the couch.
you shift uncomfortably at the close proximity and try to subtly scooch away, "uh yeah, I guess so... we should try to finish this arrangement before we get out of here."
you try your best to compose yourself and act professional, hearing minjeong's deep chuckle next to you, "alright then."
actually getting work done and writing some lyrics alongside figuring out the instrumental arrangement with minjeong since she's the other guitarist, besides beomgyu (also bc he left). you tell her that you get frustrated with the fact you're not that good at playing, her having asked why you don't just make the arrangements yourself. and so, she decides to teach you! well, "teach you."
placing her acoustic Silvertone on your lap and crawling up slowly behind you, her warm body pressed up against your back, the brush of her lips against your ear making you shiver. she brings her arms over and places her hands over yours, guiding them around the strings and assisting with the chords.
she whispers deep and raspy into your ear various instructions, "if you cover this entire fret and press down on these strings, you'll get the F Barre chord. it's a little difficult but nothing you can't manage, right princess?"
"the placement kinda hurts..." you complain, feeling the burn of the metal strings against your skin.
"it'll be a little painful when you start, but with practice you'll get better. you have to press down harder than that though," her pressing your fingers down harder against the nylon strings.
whining softly at the pain, making her lips come closer to your ear, "come on baby, you can do it, a little pain goes a long way. I know you can handle it."
a chill runs down your spine at her words, proceeding to repeatedly attempt to strum the chord correctly until the sound was full.
"good girl, it wasn't that bad right?" you turn to face her, her lips just centimeters away from yours.
your breath picks up at her proximity and a smirk tugs at her lips, moving her face into your neck and hotly sighing against it.
"how badly do you want it, hm? how badly do you want me to fuck you like a rockstar?"
your grip on her guitar tightens as her mouth trails around your neck, gasping when you feel her tongue drag across slowly.
"what do you think you're doing?"
"nothing you don't want me to already, sweetheart."
you lean into her touch, moving your hand away from the body of the guitar to lace your fingers through her soft wolf-cut hair, pulling her head in further into your neck, now placing wet kisses against the skin.
you suddenly shoot your eyes open at the realization of what you two are doing and stutter, "I-I don't think we should be doing th-this... we need to finish the arrangement... and also, y-your brother, what will h-he think?"
you stumble over your words as minjeong just hums in response to, continuing to leave sloppy marks across your neck, feeling her make hickeys on parts of your skin that wouldn't be noticeable.
"we have all the time in the world to finish the song. but what about gyu? did you want him instead then?" she asks, almost threateningly, challenging you to say yes.
in response, you whimper and pull her head in further towards your neck, practically begging her not to go away.
"don't you feel ashamed letting your best friend's sister do this to you? or are you just a slut?"
you don't answer, only shut your eyes and bite your lip. minjeong doesn't like that, resulting in her hand to pull you by the hair backwards, head facing the ceiling. your eyes shot open at the contact and you see her blown pupils staring into yours.
her voice comes out low and dark, "answer me whore. tell me what you are, I wanna hear you say it."
you gulp down a lump in your throat, debating if you should listen to her or to your morals. all sense jumps out the window when she sexily raises her eyebrow at you, an expectant expression sitting on her aroused face.
fuck it whatever, she's too fucking hot, "I'm your slut, minjeong, all yours."
finishing the arrangement? what a joke! she has your legs spread wide open on the soundboard, skillful fingers pumping in and out of your squelching cunt, your head thrown back, moaning into the hot air of the studio. her one hand plunging deep into your pussy while the other one is wrapped around your waist, holding you close, keeping your thighs propped open with her body. and she's just watching you, her mouth slightly open and lips a deep dark plump red, her messy hair tousled, bangs sticking to her sweaty forehead. she loves watching how your face contorts in response to her digits curling to hit that delicious spot in your hole, hitting it repeatedly, her palm slapping against your clit with every quick thrust of her hand. the sounds of your croaky moans, wet and clenching pussy, and her heavy breathing fill the sound-proof room, the thought of productivity not even grazing either of your minds.
the pleasure built so much, you felt that knot in your stomach tighten. minjeong quickened her pace as she felt your legs start to shake around her, sensing how close you were to cumming. it was all too much and you suddenly orgasmed, crying out moans with every wave of delight that surged through your body, thighs trembling, eyes rolled back and mouth hung open, your hands gripping her shoulders for dear life. she intently watched with a lustful stare at every expression your face made while you came, memorizing how good you looked when she fucked you. pulling her fingers out and collecting every drop of cum you leaked onto her hand and wrist, licking it clean until a thin sheet of her saliva remained.
"open your fucking mouth and stick your tongue out," she demanded with a deep voice.
you obeyed and gagged, feeling her tongue shove itself down your throat, forcefully swallowing her saliva and your cum. drool seeped out the sides of your lips as she continued her onslaught in your mouth, feeling her clothed hips grind against your sensitive clit, moans slipping out of your throat in the form of gags.
she'd pull away suddenly, tongue exiting your mouth with a wet slurping noise, making you cough. "you. are. mine. remember that."
she'd remind you, running her damp fingers through her hair.
these late night escapades continued to occur with every single long session held in the studio (she definitely recorded some audios of you guys fucking for sureeee). the creative part of you wanted beomgyu to stay and help with the music, but the sinful part of you so desperately wanted him to leave as soon as possible to have his sister all to yourself. your best friend never caught on to you and minjeong, but oh, yeonjun and aeri caught on like THAT. the tension between you two was so palpable, the two older members would side eye you during practices and giggle to each other, watching the two of you eye fuck from across the room.
eventually, the band's popularity would build and proceed to skyrocket, leading to your guys' first tour. tour meant performing together, traveling together, being with each other, and ultimately, tour meant being with minjeong. and so when management would get 3 hotel rooms for you all, 1 for the boys, 1 for the girls, and well, 1 for aeri being the sleeping beauty she is, rooming with minjeong meant a few things. practicing together, writing and composing together, and sleeping together (for the girls in the back, SEX).
throwing you onto the bed as soon as you reach your hotel room, tearing your clothes off and pinning you down, sloppily kissing each other. she'd prep you by eating you out, sticking her wet muscle inside of your leaking core, caressing your walls and flicking against your g-spot. you bit down hard on the pillow, muffling your moans as her thumb covered in her saliva rubbed against your throbbing clit. her pulling away right before you came and putting on a strap-on she brought on tour (for you of course!), wasting no time in thrusting it into you.
the pillow probably did nothing to silence your screams as she mercilessly fucked you into the mattress, hand pressing down on your lower stomach to feel her cock pumping in and out of you, the tip of her dick hitting your cervix again and again, her thumb still stimulating your clit. minjeong had your back arching, your hands flew everywhere, trying to grip onto anything to ground yourself, but nothing was enough, even as you screamed and bit down on your pillow. your eyes watered and your vision blurred as she rammed into you, the dark-haired girl moving her hands to wrap around your neck, choking you, gradually adding pressure with every rough thrust. her pants eventually became moans too, loving the feeling of the side of her strap hitting that delicious spot inside of her too, slapping her clit against yours as she bottomed out in you.
"I'm gonna fucking cum in you y/n, I'm gonna knock you up, fill you up until you're leaking both of us," minjeong growls above you, lowering her face to level with yours.
you feel tears fall down the sides of your face and your throat sore from another scream ripped out of you as well as her hands around your neck as she throws the pillow in your mouth onto the floor, attaching her mouth to yours instead. you cry onto her tongue as you orgasm against her strap, toes curling and legs wrapped around her waist, nails digging into minjeong's shoulders, cum gushing out of you as you feel her cock shoot fake ropes of white liquid into you, filling you up. you feel her shake in your arms too as she cums, her pleasure leaking out onto your thighs, soaking the bedsheets. she collapses on top of you, both of you desperately gasping for air, her dick still inside of you, keeping the fake cum from leaking out.
"good thing we have another bed."
of course being on tour also meant fucking in the green room before a performance. having done interviews all morning, having a concert for the tour tonight, minjeong was so mean! she had you wear a vibrator the entire day! it would be on the lowest setting up until the interviewer would ask you a question. she would turn up the intensity and you would squirm as you tried to answer, gripping your ripped jeans, almost causing another tear. and so when you two were left alone in the green room for just a minute, she took you right then and there, your legs wide open on the sofa, her mouth stimulating your clit while she increased the vibrator's setting to max, thrusting it in and out of you.
you were screaming in pleasure, all the built up tension in your stomach finally being relieved with each pump of the sex toy in your pussy. you clutched onto her leather jacket for dear life as you came all over her face, squirting everywhere. she licked as much as she could and you both worked quickly to clean before anyone came back. your members, staff, and the fans would notice you limping around on stage that night, winter with an especially evil smirk resting on her face.
being on tour also meant getting fingered in the bathroom backstage. it's literally 10 minutes to showtime, but minjeong NEEDED to fuck you now! her calloused fingers pumping in and out of you while you reciprocated fingering her too. both of your skirts hiked up and panties pushed to the side (no safety shorts? idk this is fiction, ignore it!), moaning desperately into each others mouths as you messily and sloppily made out against the bathroom stall door. curling your fingers at the same time, biting down on her lip while her fingernails dug into your thigh at the feeling. rolling your hips against her palm to stimulate your clit, her repeating the motion and pinning you harder to the door so that your bodies were flush against one another.
screaming into each other's mouths as you came at the same time, cum dripping down your wrist. quickly cleaning one another up (with your tongues, yup) and running to your places since there was literally THIRTY SECONDS to showtime! beomgyu confusedly looking at you two in frustration, asking where you guys had been, yeonjun and aeri rolling their eyes laughing, still lowkey irritated that you guys were LITERALLY FUCKING instead of getting ready to perform smh. everyone definitely noticed the redness in both of your cheeks. winter had fingered you with her calloused hand, the dampness making it more difficult to play the chords during that show, the band noticing the change in effectivity too (how technical!).
at some point, the fans would notice the tension between you two. who wouldn't ship the lead singer with the guitarist in a band anyway right? especially when it's the hot dark wolf-cut emo guitarist winter and the stunning pretty charismatic lead singer. but of course that wasn't the only reason, you guys were soooo obvious. you're singing the flirty and seductive lyrics towards her, minjeong returning a smirk back at you and sticking her tongue out while she fingerpicks her guitar, raising her eyebrows when she does. trailing your fingertips over her bare skin in skimpy outfits they'd put her in onstage, singing the lyrics into her ears.
or literally just flat out fucking saying it. like having those soundcheck Q&As where fans would ask you questions like "if you were to date one of the members, who would you date?"
answering each other's names at the same time, causing everyone to laugh in the audience, beomgyu gagging, and yeonjun and aeri holding back laughter. minjeong following up by saying something like "I mean, it's not like it hasn't happened before." LIKE WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?
or when you and winter are in an interview and they ask what the inspiration was behind a particular song, let's say a more sexy song, and she responds first, "well, every song that we've written has influences from our own personal experiences."
the interviewer would be like, "so then is it true when you sing quote 'I might fuck your friend, I made my mind up'?"
you blush profusely and winter just dies laughing, "I'll let you guys decide that one."
"y/n, you wrote "we go for hours and it's still good" correct?" the interviewer continues.
"yes yes but the details don't really matter do they?" you nervously laugh while minjeong drills holes into the side of your head, staring at you with a playful and sinister smirk on the side.
my favorite headcanon to think about is online discourse regarding you and minjeong. your guys' new mv dropped for your latest single and there are a bunch of scenes with you and winter acting like an angsty couple in the rain, making up in the end by having an alluded to sex scene (lmao, wild if this actually would ever happen).
I just imagine twt going INSANEEE.
slut4winter: DID Y/N AND WINTER FUCK AT THE END OF THE VIDEO?!?!?
y/nonechancepls: i literally cannot defend minjeong and y/n anymore...
beomgyuswolfcut: bro, winter fr cucked her brother from y/n 😭😭
aerifuckinguchinaga: win-y/n's chemistry is a lil too real yall 💀
drumjunyeonjun: not them saying it was their fav scene to film, the closet is made out of AIR, IM SICK OF U F WORDS !!!
and of course, despite all of this, your dear bestie and minjeong's brother doesn't catch on. at times, beomgyu will be all what the fuck is going on when you two say something that has double entendre or has some sort of underlying meaning.
yeonjun usually just pats him on the back while laughing, "oh my friend, never change, never change."
aeri being such a nosy friend LOVES hearing you rant about it, chin propped up on her fist, leaning forward against the table, a cheeky grin on her face. with every spicy detail, she's always just like, "girllll, you're insane and wild, but good for you!"
a/n - like rq, through a guitarist pov, winter is so attractively good at guitar it pisses me off. also headcanon songs this band would make are like wdywfm by the neighbourhood, sex by the 1975, do I wanna know by arctic monkeys, and slow down by chase atlantic. incredibly self indulgent hc and WHAT ABOUT IT!!

Paring(s): Lo'ak sully x twin! Reader, Neteyam sully x younger sister! Reader, kiri sully x sister! Reader, Tuk sully x sister! Reader, Jake sully x daughter! Reader, Neytiri x daughter! Reader, sully family x reader
Genre: kinda angst
Warning(s): none
Word bank: Y/N- your name
Notes: soooo, I came across a sound on tiktok and it's the one from the movie Mowgli? If Ur ever heard of it. But it's the sound where he's saying "we're not special" and it just got me thinking about Lo'ak and how he thinks he's an outcast. Anyway, hope u enjoy.
Part 2
"Hey, Lo'ak-!" Y/N yelled at her twin, but was cut short because she tripped over an seashell near the water. Lo'ak stared blankly at her, waiting a few minutes till a loud laugh bursts from his lips as he watched his twin faceplant into the sand. Her ears twitched as she heard her twins laughter her favourite sound of them all. It had been a while since she last hear it. She just figured he was homesick just like everyone else but oh, how she was wrong.
After dusting herself off from all the sand, she took a seat next to Lo'ak, a bright smile on her face just like always. "So, you gonna tell me why my twin brother hasn't been so happy lately?" Lo'ak felt a lump forming in his throat as he watched Neteyam, Kiri and Tuk playing in water, splashing each other. He wished he could tell her why he's been so down but he can't. It's almost like all the hate and sadness has piled up into nothing but rage.
"Hello, Lo'ak? You gonna answer me? Cause you know dad says it rude to ignore someone when their talking to you" Y/N waved her hand infront of his face trying to snap the boy out of his thought. Once he did though, the lump in his throat grew bigger, his knuckles going white as he clenched them tighter. "Why do you always want to be around me? Why not hang out with Neteyam or Kiri and Tuk?" Lo'ak said coldly. Y/N's eyes travelled down to her hands, staring at how one hand has 4 fingers and the other has 4 fingers and 1 tumb. "Cause your my twin, Lo'ak..." she said quietly, almost a whisper.
Anger soon took over Lo'ak as he got up from his sitting position and stormed off to who knows where. Y/N acted quickly, as she followed after her twin concern written all over face. When she finally caught up with him, she grabbed his arm making him face her. "Lo'ak! What's wrong? Please talk to me" L'oak could see the concren, and hurt in her eyes. "Fine! You wanna know why I've been like this??" Lo'ak's out burst made the poor girl jump but she still nodded her head Yes, wanted to get to the bottom to this. "I feel like an outcast! A disappointment! A thing no one wants to deal with!" Tears started to form in Lo'ak's eyes as his emotions started to get the better of him.
"You know... I understand what it's like. For nobody to want you, to feel like a freak... I mean your not the only one who has weird looking hands. See?" She showed both her hands to Lo'ak trying to make him understand that he's not alone. "But... we have each other, ok? And we're kinda the same, you and me" Lo'ak stared at his twin's hands for a few minutes before speaking. "We're not the same" It sounds more harsh then He attempted it to be. Y/N looked down at her hands again but looking up. "Of course we're the same, Lo'ak. Beacuse your special and I'm special"
"We're not special!" Lo'ak yelled, letting all the anger and rage out. "Don't you get it?! We'll never be one of them! We're freaks!" All the yelling that was coming from the young boy, caught the attention of a few Metkayina near by and the attention of their slibings. Neteyam told kiri and Tuk to go find Jake and Neytiri before running off to the two sully twins. "You're not special, Y/N! It's just something mom and dad tell you to make you feel better about yourself! Beacuse you came out wrong!"
"Lo'ak! Stop it!" Neteyam yelled when he got closer to them. His expression softened when he saw his sister, trembling as tears started to roll down her checks. Neteyam placed his hand gently on Y/N's shoulder, to try and comfort her but she just backed away from him. "I-I'm sorry..." the young girl whispered before running off. Neteyam tried calling out for her but she was too far way to hear him.
Lo'ak watched as her figure soon disappeared, regret instantly over coming him as he realized what he just did. He hurt her. The one person he said he'd never hurt. It felt like his heart had shattered into a million pieces. He could hear his parent's heavy footsteps as they grew closer to their oldest and youngest sons. "What the hell happened here?!" Jake's voice roared at his sons. "I-I..." Lo'ak couldn't get the right words to form as he played helplessly with his fingers. He could see how his mother and brother took off to find Y/N, his twin. Lo'ak knew he messed up big time, but he couldn't help the worry that filled the pit of his stomach. He could barely hear the yelling of his father as he yelled about how disappointed he was in him, how he shouldn't have done that. But he already knew that. He already knew that he had gone too far.

Unknowing- Intruder
(Alice x Reader x Jasper)
Tumblr media
[two] [three] [four]
"Hey [Name], Sam's been calling the line." Charlie tells me as I scarf down a buttered toast.
Ever since I found out that I can eat food again it's been my favorite thing to pass time.
Even if I don't need it. I've missed the taste of everything. "Mm," I finished the food in my mouth.
"What'd he say?" I ask before taking another bite of food.
Every single time I eat too I know I look like I haven't eaten in days. Like a starved child.
"Just that he needs to talk to you about something important." My dad simply shrugs his shoulders, taking a berry off my plate and popping it in his mouth.
"Think he's pregnant?" I jokingly ask only to get hit in my shoulder. "You're stupid." He shakes his head.
"What? I can't be a teen mom, dad. I'm telling you. He'd be on his own." I say with a mouthful of food.
"Yeah because we need another [Name] in the universe." Charlie sarcastically speaks aloud. I let out a gasp. "Rude." I finish off my plate, standing up to put it in the sink. "You should seriously speak with him soon, he's blowing up the line. I'm about ready to throw it away." He half-heartedly jokes, even though he was a little serious.
"I'll get to it soon." I sigh, I stretch out my limbs, twisting my sides.
"You've been gaining some muscle." Charlie suddenly says out loud. "You think?" I lift both my arms, flexing off the muscles I obviously knew were there. Just feeling a little cocky lately.
"Okay, show off." He nudges me.
I smile, grabbing my leather jacket from the hook, throwing it on. Bella comes downstairs and then I hear a car pull up.
"You wanna eat something, Bella?" Charlie asks, she only shakes her head, putting her sweater on as well. "Alright, you two have a good day." He tells us, we both wave on our way out the door.
At the school, I sit on my bike, waiting for Jasper and Alice. In my jacket I'm beginning to feel a little uncomfortable. It's tight against my arms, almost close to not zipping up anymore.
"Hey lovebug." I feel a hand land on my thigh, squeezing it tightly. "Hey." I smile back. I go to say something to Jasper as well but a roar of another motorcycle erupts into the parking lot.
Bella and Edward get out of the Volvo. Jacob climbed off his own bike, striding towards them. "Jake!" I furrow my eyebrows, watching my sister get excited to see her once best friend. I grip onto Alice's hand that was still on my thigh.
"Hey, Charlie said you left town." He states. "Yeah. To visit my mom, why?" Bella questions him back. "Just checking to see if you're still human." I lean back listening to their conversation. My arms crossed. "I'm coming here to warn you. If your kind come on our land again..."
"Wait, what?" Bella cuts him off, confused. I glance at my partners. They already told me what happened.
"You didn't tell her?" Jacob glares at Edward, this is where I stand up and join them. Alice and Jasper stay in proximity just in case.
"Just leave it alone, Jacob." I tell the wolf who seems shocked by my words. "Tell me what?" Bella asks.
"Emmett and Paul had a misunderstanding, there's nothing to worry about." Edward shortly explains.
'Listen to you. Did you lie to get her out of town too? I can't believe you got [Name] in on it too." Jacob scoffs in disbelief, I roll my eyes. "You should leave. Now." Edward warns him. I stand straighter, hands on my hips as I stand beside Edward.
"She has a right to know. She is the one the red-head wants." Jacob spits it out knowing that's exactly what we want hidden. "Victoria? Alice's vision." My sister realizes.
"We were trying to protect you." Edward tells her sincerely. "By lying to me. [Name] you too? You two are like- we're gonna talk about this." She points between Edward and I. "But, you. Why haven't you called me back?" Bella questions Jacob. "I had nothing to say." He answers.
"Well, I have tons." Bella walks closer to Jacob. "Hold on. Hey. Bella." Her boyfriend attempts to stop her.
"Edward, you have to trust me." She pleads with him. "I do trust you, it's him I don't trust." Edward exclaims. He lets her go and she jogs to Jacob, climbing on his bike.
"Hey, [Name]. Before I leave. You should really talk with Sam." He then smirks to himself as Bella wraps her arms around his waist. "Lose the grin, Jacob. We're just going for a ride." I hear my sister tell the boy.
"Hold on tight." He kick starts the bike, driving off.
As they drive past, Edward just watches. "Want me to go?" I look at him. He glances over at me, bowing his head slightly down.
"Your sister is stubborn." He then nods his head, motioning for me to go.
I headed over to my bike, Alice and Jasper were still standing there. "You can't go, [Name]." Is the first thing to leave Alice's mouth.
"Babe, it's alright. Would you rather Bella be on the rez alone? I'm the only one that can go and not get threatened." I remind her to which she glances up at Jasper but knows I'm right. Her eyes flickering back down to the ground.
"She's right," Jasper starts off at Alice then at me. "Just be careful please, darling." He brings me into a small kiss.
"Of course, I'm a fucking hybrid. Who's going to threaten me beside the Volturi?" I whisper, knowing only they could hear. Alice slaps my arm, even though she knows it's a joke she doesn't find it funny. Jasper does though which helps my ego a little bit.
"Alright, don't worry, my love. I'll call you right away when we leave the reservation." I promise her, kissing her cheek but before I can let go she pulls me in for another kiss. "Good." She mumbles under her breath, letting me go.
I get on my bike, kicking up the stand as I start it. "I love you both." I mouth, both of them smiling in return as I drive off.
Pulling into the rez, the energy was different than it had been before. People aren't glaring me down as I drive past. Instead I got smiles. Even if they were small. Billy was also already on his porch as if he had been expecting me even though Sam was the one who requested to speak with me through Jacob.
Speaking of, the large man is right behind the older one. To which I rolled my eyes at. "Hi, Billy." I smile, not acknowledging Sam.
"Well, you've gotten some muscle on you." Billy grins in return. I park my bike then flex my arms through the jacket I was wearing, just like I did with my dad.
"How's being a hybrid?" He rolls his wheelchair down to get closer to me as I was walking toward him.
"It's alright. Love being able to eat food again without it tasting like sand." I half-joked. There was definitely some truth to that sentence.
"I bet. I'm gonna have to set up a feast for you someday." He looks up at me.
"I would love that." I grinned. Then as quick as he was cheerful, it went quiet. Billy became solemn.
"You're always welcome here, [Name]. The pack agreed to stay neutral. More than that, they are very welcoming. You should learn both sides of yourself." He tells me, grabbing onto my hand I could tell he wanted to feel my warmth.
So I let him. I think back to the agreement I had made with my partners. Swearing that I would never turn into a wolf unless absolutely necessary.
"Thank you." I bow my head momentarily. "You don't plan to do that though, do you?" Billy quietly asks me, not in an angry or upset way. But knowingly. My silence of course answers for me.
Sam scoffs, "of course you don't." He shakes his head, finally putting himself into the conversation. "Excuse me?" I cross my arms, glaring right at him.
"Those bloodsuckers, they told you not to and since you're their little bitch you do exactly as they say." He gets in my face, I step back so Billy doesn't get hurt.
Knowing that I can barely control myself after my emotions I close my eyes for a split second. Taking in deep breaths. Slowly, in and out...
"Sam, she's stronger, back off before something stupid happens." Billy warns him, placing a hand on his arm to stop him but Sam shoves it off.
"I want an answer. They convinced you to not use it, didn't they?" His shoulder presses against mine and that's when I shove him away from me. His body flailing backwards to the dirt.
"I didn't come for this, I barely even came here to talk to you. I'm here to make sure Jacob isn't reckless with my sister. I angrily spat at the man who's getting up off the ground.
"Why I don't turn into a wolf is my business. Not yours. Never will it be yours." I got in his face this time. "I don't know how many times I have to repeat myself but I do not want you near me. So stop trying." I push off of him, this time a lot softer but it does cause him to lose his balance just a little bit.
"I'm sorry for the show, Billy. I'll see you some other time." I looked him in the eye, ignoring Sam who was just standing there now. "It's alright, your sisters in the garage." He points, I thank him as I walk away from them.
Before I enter the garage I hear Jacob getting upset. "You knew this was gonna happen." I hear Bella say. "Not in a month." He argues, he;s pacing. I stand outside quietly knowing that they can't sense me. Something that is a part of being a hybrid. No one can catch my scent or presence.
"I mean, not before you've even lived! Or before I could... for a second." He pauses to think about his next choice of words.
"For a second I thought... But he's got his hooks in you so deep." He growls out "I decided this, not him." Bella argues with the werewolf.
"Bella, they're not even alive. It makes me sick. Better you really be dead than one of them." He says out of anger and as much as I want to go in there and back my sister up I know she wouldn't want that right now.
"I can't believe you said that Edward was right. I shouldn't have come. She mutters and I frown from hearing the pain in her voice. I hear Bella step forward to leave. "Bella, come on. Please, I'm sorry." He says but I'm starting to question if he's even sincere anymore.
I hear her step further into the garage and uncover something. "We should stick to safer subjects like motorcycles." She speaks up to cut the tension in the air.
"Only thing safe about you on a motorcycle is when you turn it off." Jacob teases and I use this as a cue to join in. "Ain't that the truth." I walk in with a smirk. "Hey, no need to gang up on me." My older sister frowns as Jake and I laugh.
Bella and I get home late and when we walked in our father was right there in the kitchen. "You know the Cullens could at least respect meal times." Charlie tells us. "We were with Jake." Bella says and I hum too.
"Oh... Good, did you speak with Sam while you were over there?" he asks as I was smelling something unfamiliar in the house, it was mainly in Bella and my room.
"Uhm, yeah yeah." I was a little distracted but the conversation was quickly cut off by a knock on the door.
"I'll give you guys some privacy then." Charlie walks out into the living room. Edward walks in after Bella lets him in but I'm trying to smell the scent more, not being able to put my finger on where it's from.
I quickly went up the stairs to my sister's room first.
"What's going on?" Bella asks. "[Name] smells something. It's strong, I smell it as well. Something's wrong." He follows behind me. They watch as I'm checking things out. Touching the things this person touched.
"Edward, [Name], what's wrong?" My sister worriedly questions us. "Someone's been in here." Edward says for me.
Alice comes to my side as we all gather in the Cullen's living room. "Who was it? Someone we know?" She quizzes us.
"Just a stranger. I didn't recognize his scent, neither did [Name]." Edward tells everyone. "A nomad passing through?" Esme asks.
"A passer-by wouldn't have left Bella and [Name]s father alive." Rosalie argues. I suck on the inside of my cheeks at the thought of Charlie getting hurt. Alice hugs my arm tighter for support. Jasper then bursts through the door.
"His scent disappeared about five miles south of their house." He tells everyone before waking up to me. Taking my hand into his, planting a kiss on Alice's head as well.
"Someone's orchestrating this." Edward states the obvious. "Victoria?" Carlisle says. "I would've seen her deciding." Alice shakes her head ruling the redhead out.
"It has to be the Volturi." Edward butts in. "I don't think it's the Volturi either. I've been watching Aro's decisions too." Alice again disagrees. "So we keep looking." Emmett speaks.
"We also take shifts, guarding Bella at her house. I think [Name] can handle herself along with helping us." Carlisle gives me a small smile.
"Another protection call?" Rosalie interjects. "Rosalie." Esme warns.
"No, she's right. You can't protect me, watch our dad and search for the intruder and for Victoria and keep yourselves fed." Bella agrees with the beaut.
"I'm not leaving you here defenseless." Edward explains.
"Well, I'm not gonna let you starve. And I wouldn't be unprotected. I have [Name], and I have..." She stops herself then glances up.
"What?" Edward questions but I already know what it is.
I apologize for how long this took lol. I was very busy with a bunch of stuff I had to deal with moving lol. I also have a new cat and he has so much energy lol

IT WAS THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AS THE PRINCESS STOOD NEAR THE DOOR. She could hear the sound of her father shouting at his councilmen, his anger drowning out the fear that dwelled in the room.
"I REFUSE TO SURRENDER!" He shouted and as his councilmen stood silent one came forward.
"King Anthony as much as we refuse to accept it, whether we like it or not the Orcs have beaten us and our kingdom isn't safe." One of his men; James Rhodes said.
"If we lose then my wife, children, everyone is at stake for an attack." The King said and with a sigh sat down in one of the chairs.
"We could speak with their leaders, perhaps they'd be willing to compromise." Another man; Fury said.
"We'd be wasting our breath, what would they be wanting that they couldn't take from by invading?" Rhodes asked.
The princess could no longer listen and scurried away from the door as they hardening news weighed on her.
This war had been troubling ever since she was a child and to hear that everything was going to crumble. She remembered when her father had been in the war and now all these years had caused him to grey and her mother was just as tired.
Her little sister Morgana was only a child and if anything were to happen to her, she wouldn't know what to do.
"My lady, you mustn't be up this late." Her lady in waiting; Natasha said. "If you're found I'll be in heaps of trouble."
Natasha led the princess into her room and the princess turned to her as Natasha shut her doors.
"Natasha tell me about the Orcs?" She asked and Natasha turned so quickly her head could of gotten whiplash.
"Orcs are monstrous and strong creatures, strong as twenty men. I've even heard they've even taken maidens as wives." Natasha said. "But I-"
The princess drowned at Natasha's babbling as she thought of what Natasha said when she meant that Orcs took human women as brides. She chewed her lip in thought and her eyes widened.
"- never met an orc in person I-" Natasha was cut off by the princess.
"Can you help me get out of the palace?" She asked and Natasha looked confused.
"What do you mean? It's late enough as it is and-" The princess cut her off.
"Natasha it's important I need to speak to the leaders of the Orcs." She said urgently and touched Natasha's shoulders. "It could change everything."
"My lady if we're found-" Natasha was cut off again.
"I'll say it was my idea and that I ordered you, now come on." She said as she grabbed her cloak from her desk.
"What are we doing exactly?" Natasha asked her as she grabbed a cloak as well.
"To make a deal." The princess said and with that, Natasha grabbed a lantern and quickly lit it. Entering the hallway and leading the princess to what she think was her doom.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
THE PRINCESS TURNED HER HEAD AS SHE SAW THE CASTLE FROM A FAR DISTANCE. The sound of frogs and crickets rang throughout the forest and fireflies could be seen faintly lighting it.
Natasha stood in front of the princess, lantern shining bright and their hearts beating rapidly.
"This where we go to find them, my mother spoke of the forest being the home of all creatures." Natasha said and as they stepped forward each step made a loud crackling sound. "Stay behind me."
"I trust you." The princess said and as she followed Natasha and her went deeper into the forest.
"You still won't answer my question, what are you going to offer them?" Natasha asked. "I mean what's more valuable than ransacking a kingdom? They aren't know to taking gold and leaving peacefully."
"It's for me to discuss with them." She said stubbornly. "It's a private matter."
"I can't believe the war is over though, do you remember when it first started?" Natasha asked and the princess shook her head.
"It's started when I was so young, it's been going on for 10 years." She said. "Morgana was born during the fourth year of the war."
"It's always remember the bloodshed but yet never remembering what started it." Natasha said. "I remember hearing the bells and the sound of my father being taken to war."
"So many men were put in the war." The princess remembered. "I remember my father talking to the crowds of men when I watched from my window."
"All of this to be for nothing." Natasha said bitterly. "What a way for the Stark kingdom to fall."
"Not yet." The princess said and suddenly they stopped as Natasha saw the glowing of a light in the distance.
"I think that's their camp, we need to lay low or-" Natasha was cut off by a low grumble.
"Well what do we have here?" The two girls turned around quickly as they stood in front of an orc. The princess had never seen one in person and as she stared up at the large creature, she was terrified.
Their strong and large stature made her feel like a tiny bug that they could squash at any moment.
"It seems you two little girls are lost and all alone." The orc chuckled and as he was about to touch the princess, she firmly slapped his finger away and looked at him.
"I need to speak to your leaders, it's very urgent, I beg of you." She said and the orc laughed.
"And who must you be?" He laughed and looked at her smugly.
"I'm princess Y/N of the Stark kingdom." The orc stopped laughing and his face turned stern.
"Well then, come with me." He said and she nodded.
"T-thank you." Y/N said and the orc ignored her and Natasha looked at Y/N in shock.
"We need to-" Y/N turned to Natasha quickly.
"No, we can't leave now, Natasha I need you to understand everything I'm doing is for the kingdom." Y/N said and Natasha said nothing as they began to follow the orc.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"SIRS, THE PRINCESS IS HERE TO SEE YOU." The orc said amusingly.
When Y/N and Natasha had entered the orc camp, everyone had turned to see the princess and her handmaiden following to whom they heard their name was Bruce.
Y/N looked as if she would throw up and as she stood in front of the two leaders, she felt as if she couldn't move.
"The princess? Well what a lovely surprise." One of them said.
Y/N looked at the leaders and saw them bigger and more large than most of the orcs in the camp.
One of them had dark blonde hair and a beard that went across their large jaw and their tusks getting lost in the sea of dark blond curls, he wore a bear skin that draped across his large toned body, and robes that was under it, gazing at Y/N with questioning.
The other who spoke, was a bit shorter but not by much, he was more thick and more muscle and his long brunette curled contrasted with his green skin. However on the brunette's left arm was gone and all that was there was a metal one to replace it. He wore a wolf pelt instead and he had similar robes to the other man and looked more deadly than his companion.
"I came her to talk to you, privately." She said as turned to Bruce and Natasha.
"Leave us." The brunette said and Natasha looked at Y/N fearfully. "Don't worry your friend won't be harmed."
"Come along little minx, I don't bite." Bruce said and Natasha looked at him unconvincingly.
"I highly doubt that." She said and as the two of them left, only Y/N and the orc leaders remained.
"What is it you wish to speak to us about?" The blonde one asked.
"About the war, my father doesn't know I'm here and I-" Y/N was cut off by the brunette.
"If you think we'll surrender you're out of the question, this war has been nothing but pain for our people, pain your grandfather caused." The brunette growled.
"Bucky, calm down." The blonde said. "What about the war, I understand you know that we've won and there's nothing we can do to stop that."
Y/N looked at them both and fiddled with her thumbs and but her lip.
"I understand that, I was proposing- a- uh- an alliance." Y/N said and as she waited for their response all she got was laughter from them and her face turned red from embarrassment.
"If you'd ever think we'd be allies your surely mistaken we've-"
"I'm willing to become one of yours' bride, I'll give myself to one of you if it means that you'll spare our kingdom." Y/N said and then came forward and got on her knees and had her head down.
Both orcs looked down at the princess in shock, their eyes widened as the princess stood before them and they could see that she was serious.
"You don't understand what your giving." Bucky said and Y/N looked up to him and a tear fell down her cheek.
"I do, I would be the most devoted wife, if you don't wish to I understand but-" She was cut off by Bucky.
"Steve and I are to share a mate, we are very serious about our mates. Once we've made this deal you can never go back, this will be your fate." Bucky said and the blonde; Steve nodded.
"B-both of you?" Y/N asked as she looked at both of them and they smirked.
"We share, and we've always had the notion of sharing our mate." Steve said and put his finger under Y/N's chin. "You'll be our princess."
Y/N gulped and nodded.
"I'll be your princes but only if you spare the Stark kingdom." She said and the orc men nodded.
"It's a deal." Bucky said and Steve suddenly picked up Y/N and she screamed. Steve put his hand over her mouth and her screaming was muffled.
"We aren't going to hurt, we just wanted to pick up our bride." Steve said and she stopped screaming but the fear never left her eyes as she looked at Steve. "Notify the clan, we are leaving. But not before the princess sends a message to the king."
Bucky nodded and as he left the tent with a grunt, Steve placed Y/N down to were he was sitting and grabbed a piece of parchment and a feather with ink.
"Send your message, then we must be off." Steve said and Y/N looked up.
"Can't I at least say goodbye?" Y/N asked and Steve shook his head.
"Knowing your father he would never let you leave and this deal has been struck, if he dares to break our deal than your kingdom will be in ruins." Steve said and Y/N shut her eyes and tears fell from her eyes and onto her cheek.
Steve looked at the small human and felt a pain of guilt, he wiped the tear away with his giant hand. Y/N winced and Steve once again felt guilt.
"Maybe one day." Steve said and the emotion on his face then disappeared as he got up and exited the tent.
Y/N watched his retreating figure and once he was fully out of site, she looked down at the parchment in front of her and a tear fell onto the sheet.
She fully comprehended what she had just done, she didn't regret it but nevertheless still felt waves of sadness as she wrote down each word, saying goodbye to her family on the paper, and the last words she would ever say.
"I hope one day you understand." Y/N said to herself and as she signed her name down on the scroll, she wrapped it up and sealed it.
As she did, she didn't notice her soon to be husbands entering the tent. She felt one of their fingers on her shoulder and she jumped.
She turned to see them with their stoic faces and she looked away and held up the parchment.
"It is done." She said and Steve took it and nodded.
"Come princess, time to leave." Bucky said and with no warning picked her up again and she gasped.
She looked up to him as he held her.
"Get use to it, you humans are such small and fragile creatures, our mate is not to walk." He chuckled and Y/N tried to ignore the heat rushing to her cheeks.
"I-I'm very fine with walking S-Sir." She said nervously and Bucky snarled.
"I wasn't asking." He said gruffly and took her out of the tent. Y/N looked and saw all of the Orcs looking at Bucky and more directly her. She felt like shrinking away, Bucky could feel that as she squirmed in his arms and glared at everyone. His gaze made them turn away.
"LETS MOVE!" Steve shouted and all of the Orcs nodded to Steve.
Y/N began to feel drowsy in Bucky's arm, the way he swayed her in his arms lulled her closer and closer to sleep.
"Sleep princess, we have a long journey home." Bucky said but Y/N had so many questions, but he fight was sleep was stronger and as she tried to fight, her eyes closed and soon her light snores could be heard by Bucky.
"Well Buck, this seems like a better bounty than gold, huh?" Steve said and Bucky smirked.
"Once we get home, get the ceremony started as soon as possible." Bucky said and Steve agreed.
"The sooner the better." Steve said and soon they began of the ceremony, looking down at their princess every so often and excited for what was to come.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It was days later and they clan had traveled back to their home. It was already spreading like wildfire that their leaders were marrying a human princess.
Everywhere Y/N looked Orcs would stare and whisper. It was hard for Y/N to be in a strange place and to have the Orcs whispers but it wouldn't last long when Steve and Bucky would glare and pick her up, showing the clan that she was theirs.
She knew how possessive they were, it wasn't hard to tell when every moment they held her and cradled her. Every time they did it was hard for her not to blush.
She knew that they were gentlemen and could see how gentle they were trying to be with her but she knew after the ceremony it would be more than holding.
She was scared, scared of what to expect, she has been told of bedding. She was a princess of marrying age, it was told she was suppose to marry a prince from the Odin Kingdom.
But this was different they weren't a man and she didn't know if she was going to see something darker after the ceremony.
Of course she was more nervous once they began to explain that the ceremony was to be happening as soon as possible.
She could tell how much it meant to them as they explained how their mothers would say it was important.
Y/N was standing in one of the tents and dressed in a simple white gown. Her hair was put up and flowers were placed in her hair.
She looked at the mirror as Natasha did her hair, Y/N tried not to cry but her fear was overwhelming. She is trying to understand the orc men but she feels like a sheep ready for slaughter.
"We should of never done this." Natasha told Y/N. "I never should of listened to you, it's my fault."
"I don't regret what I did." Y/N said and as tear up, she wiped away tears. "It's just I wish I could be braver."
"Just keep your chin up." Natasha said, and Y/N nodded. "You'll be fine."
"I heard your going to be mated as well from what James told me." Y/N said and Natasha nodded and huffed.
"That guard Bruce ." Natasha said and looked at Y/N with a sad smile. "It already happened, while we were traveling."'
"Natasha I'm so sorry." Y/N said but Natasha shook her head.
"No it's alright, I may of judge him, and their kind a bit too soon." Natasha said. "He is gentle really- it's just I always though Clint would be my husband- and I-"
"Still I should of never-" Y/N was cut off by Natasha.
"No id rather be here with you than you alone."'Natasha said and finished the last touches. "Besides maybe the leaders won't be too bad, they have a beautiful and fierce princess as their mate."
Natasha let Y/N see her full look and Y/N looked at herself and for a moment forgot about everything and smiled.
"You look beautiful." Natasha said and squeezed Y/N's shoulder. Y/N was brought back to reality and let out a shaky sigh.
"Lets go to my ceremony." Y/N said and Natasha turned Y/N around to look at her.
"Give them a chance, I did with Bruce, what's the worst that could happen?" She said to Y/N. "Bruce took a vow and it's important to them with this vow that I know and I promise you that it won't be bad."'
Y/N listened to Natasha's words with a nod and Natasha led her outside the tent and there stood Bruce.
He was outside waiting and he bent down and kissed Natasha's forehead. Y/N looked at Natasha and Bruce and what Y/N saw was true. He looked like he was being careful, gentle. Not at all when he first met the two.
She could see Natasha needed time but she could tell Bruce would never harm her.
"Steve and Bucky told me to take you to the river." Bruce said and Y/N nodded.
"Is everyone f-from the clan going to be there?" She asked and Bruce shook his head.
"No, our ceremonies are very sacred." Bruce said. "Just the elder and our leaders will be there."
Y/N nodded and Natasha held her hand and squeezed it.
"It'll be alright." Natasha said and Y/N let out a shaky breath.
"Time to move, the sun is setting." Bruce said and led them down the path.
The fireflies glowed in the orange and purple hues of the forest. Y/N held flowers in her hand and at each step she felt sick.
She followed behind Natasha and Bruce and had her head down.
She wished her mother could of been to the ceremony, especially her father. She remembered her father telling her she would be the prettiest bride and that he couldn't wait for the day that he could dance with her.
But that sadly would never happen, she missed her family with every fiber of her being but always reminded herself it was for her family.
The farther they walked Y/N could hear the sound of the water flowing in the river. She could see torches lit in the distance, and flower scattered across the floor.
"This is where we leave you." Bruce said and lifted Natasha into his arms and nipped at her neck, which she blushed. Y/N looked away and as the two left her alone, she could hear Bruce growl.
Y/N looked ahead and saw Steve and Bucky in the distance and in between them was what she assumed was the elder of the clans.
Y/N gulped and walked to them and there they stood with special pelts and flowers on their pelts. They were groomed and could tell they had freshened up for the ceremony.
"This must be your mate." The elder woman said. "I'm Okoye, one of the clan's elders."
"H-Hello." Y/N stuttered and the warm smile of the elder calmed her.
"It is okay my dear, no need to fear." She said and looked at the two men. "May we begin?"
"Yes, please." Steve said and looked down at Y/N and for the first time, Y/N had seen joy on Steve's face.
"Yes." Bucky said and Y/N could see the same expression on Bucky.
"We stand here today in nature, within the glory of this land to bind you three together." Okoye began. "We treat our other half with love but most importantly trust, you have your cloth?"
Steve nodded and pulled out a blue silk cloth and Bucky a red one and held it out to her. She grabbed it and looked at Y/N.
"Come my child." She said and Y/N put the flowers down and held out her arms. Okoye was gentle and wrapped the two silks around her arm and tied them.
She then tied the blue and red together and both men used a hand to grab each arm gently.
"This binding is permanent, this is a symbol of bondage and mating, do you understand?" Okoye said and the men smiled.
"We do." They both said and Okoye looked down at Y/N once more.
"Do you understand?" She asked and Y/N nodded shakily.
"I understand." She said and Okoye nodded and grabbed the silk and with astonishments the blue and red silk began to glow.
Okoye's hand were glowing and in an instant the silk disappeared and she let go and Y/N stood there in shock.
"It is done, I now pronounce you mates." She said and bowed. "You may kiss the bride."
Bucky instantly grabbed Y/N and kissed her and she was shocked. Overwhelmed by the feeling of electric sparks from the kiss, she melted into the kiss. Gripping onto Bucky's arm.
Then Steve turned her around and did the same thing and kissed her as well. Feeling the same thing and touching Steve's face. She pulled away and gasped Steve got on his knees and put his forehead on hers and Bucky came up behind her and breathed down her neck.
"You are now one." Okoye said. "May Mother Nature bless your union."
Okoye bowed to her clan leaders and left the three in the flower patch. She blushed as she felt their touches.
"You're ours now princess." Bucky said and kissed her shoulder.
"We have a place to show you." Steve said and picked her up, she squealed and felt her heart race.
"W-where are we going?" She asked and Bucky tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
"Somewhere special." He said and the men began to grab a few things as Y/N stayed in Steve's arms, her heart racing and face red. Bucky grabbed one of the torches that lit up their ceremony.
They began to walk across the river and far away from the small place of their union. She watched as the only thing lighting up the forest was Bucky's torch.
She could see the sun had finally set and night time had begun.
The firefly's light would spark every few minutes, she watched as Bucky stopped and Steve covered Y/N's eyes.
"What are you doing?" Y/N huffed and Steve squeezed her leg.
"Little minx, we have a surprise." Steve said. "We understand we've made you give up so much, and that you've lived different from us so this is a gift for you, a wedding present."
Steve released his hand and Y/N was let down and in front of her was a barely built cottage, stones and axes close near a tree. In front of the building cottage many lovely lantern lit, display of flowers, fruits, and a blanket of fur laid down on the ground.
"W-what is this?" She asked surprised, her eyes filling up with tears.
"This is going to be our home." Bucky said. "We ordered it as soon as we got back, we've only laid down foundation and such but this will be our home instead of the tents in the camp."
"R-really? And this?" She asked as placed her knees on the soft fur.
"We understand that your scared of- of bedding, especially two Orcs like us." Steve said and got down on the fur blanket. "We want this to be a good experience for our mate."
"We want to show you we want to be good mates." Bucky said and laid got on his knees and took her small hand into his larger one. "If you let us."
Y/N smiled for the first time in front of the two Orcs and threw her arms around them. They were surprised as she tried to hug them tight.
"I'm so thankful- I've never in my life been gifted something so special and thoughtful." She said and looked at the home. "It's beautiful."
"Lay down, let us make you feel good." Steve said and laid her down on the fur. She let out a shaky breath as the two Orcs looked down at her hungrily.
"I've been waiting for this." Bucky said and leaned down and and began to suck on her neck. She mewled and laughed, feeling aroused and ticklish.
As Bucky kissed her neck, he grabbed her dress and ripped it immediately. She gasped as she was no bare, her nude body dimly lit from the lantern.
Steve and Bucky looked down at her body in awe, looking down to what they believe was heaven.
She tried to use her hands to cover herself up but Steve grabbed her hands and put it above her head.
"Don't hide your body from us." Steve said and put his head on the other side of her neck and nipped. "Body sent from heaven."
"Wonder if she tastes like heaven." Bucky said grinning.
Her breath hitched and before she could protest, Bucky got down to her aching core and with his long and thick tongue, he licked her core.
She jumped at the feeling as his tongue glided through her folds. She moaned as he dragged his slowly and touching her clit every so often.
"How does she taste Buck?" Steve asked as he gripped Y/N's side with his large palm.
"Heaven." Bucky said and wiped his mouth for a second. "Glad no man has ever been in between these legs, this is better than any drink."
Bucky dove back down like a mad men, he licked little kitten licks and used his two fingers to spread her lips open.
She felt the cool air and she gasped, until Steve bent down and kissed her. He growled into the kiss once Y/N began to tug on his hair. Steve pulled away from the kiss and began to suck on her breasts.
His tusks grazing her skin and making her moan.
"Let's stretch her a bit." Bucky said and entered his tongue into her core. His tongue going in and out, Y/N screamed in pleasure from the intrusion.
The stretch burned at first but with Steve kissing and marking all over her body, the pain was unnoticeable.
"You've been hogging her Buck." Steve said and Y/N had an idea and she couldn't believe she was about to offer.
"Steve- I can- I mean can I suck you off then?" She asked and both men looked at her with bewilderment. Steve's only lasted moments until he growled and immediately pulled down his garment and there his cock was there in all its glory.
She was very intimated to say the least, his cock had to be at least 9 maybe 10 inches. It was long and veiny, the tip of it angry and leaking, waiting for it to be touched.
"It's okay, let's take it slow." Steve said and touched her cheek with his palm. "Get her on her stomach."
Bucky flipped her over and began to eat her out again, she moaned out and Steve loved the view that was in front of him.
He watched as his friend began to devour her, and the site of his bride, mouth open and drooling had him ready to burst.
Steve rubbed his cock a few times before letting her grab it. She looked up at him with doe innocent eyes.
"What should I do?" She asked and Steve chuckled, and took her hands and let her hold it firmly.
"You can lick it, suck it, do what you feel is comfortable." He said and she began to lick up and down his cock, making him jolt.
She tried but her small mouth couldn't do it, she decided to lick the tip, and as her spit coated his cock, it was easier for her to move her hand up and down.
"Oh god." Steve shuddered. "So good."
Y/N moaned on his cock as Bucky used his finger and began to pump it in and out as his tongue licked her soaked clit.
"B-Bucky." Y/N moaned and Bucky moved faster and faster and she whined.
"S-Somethings happening." Y/N said and Bucky didn't stop but went faster. "Oh god."
She began to feel an overwhelming feeling in her tummy.
"Your gonna cum." Steve said and looked up and watched as she as mess as Bucky fingered her. "Bucky she's gonna cum."
Y/N arched her back and suddenly she felt the coil snap, the overwhelming feeling washed over her, making her quiver and legs shake.
She felt something pooling at her core and Bucky came up and was coated in juices.
"Steve she squirted all over my face, her juices just kept flowing." Bucky said and as Y/N was gasping for breath she didn't realize that Bucky lost his garments as well.
"I think it's time for her to take us, don't you think?" Steve asked and Bucky nodded.
"You take her first, I'm thicker." Bucky said and Y/N looked down and what he said was true. He was about 8-8.5 but he was thicker than Steve.
Steve came over and shivered as he looked at Y/N in her lust filled state.
"I'm gonna try and be gentle, okay?" Steve said and Y/N nodded. Steve put his hand down and Y/N grabbed it and rested it up against her face and sighed. "Ready?"
She nodded and Steve used his cock to slide across her folds and when he thought he had enough, he began to push in.
She gasped and immediately Bucky laid down beside her and soothed her with words. Tears began to fall from her eyes and tried to be strong.
The burning sensation was more apparent now as Steve stretched.
"Fuck me, this is the tightest cunt I've ever been in." Steve said and tried to hold the urge of fucking her senseless. "Like velvet."
"Your doing so good baby." Bucky said as Y/N began to breathe heavily. "You taking Steve so good."
"C-can I move princess?" Steve asked and Y/N nodded shakily.
Steve began to move his hips and slowly enter her in and out. She gasped as she soon felt pleasure over pain.
"How does it feel?" Bucky asked and Steve began to move his pace a little bit more.
"G-good." She said and Steve smirked at Bucky. "D-do you want me to-"
Bucky cut her off with a kiss and pressed his forehead against hers.
"No, this is all about you, trust me we have many nights for this." He said with a chuckle and sucked on her neck, leaning another big mark. She moaned loudly and it only stroked their ego more.
"Better than any man, you need to be fucked by someone who can pleasure you." Steve grunted. "Say it, say that no man would pleasure you like this."
Y/N had her mouth open but said nothing, Bucky used his finger to get her to look at him.
"He asked you to do something. Do it." Bucky ordered and cause Y/N to grip on Steve's cock tighter.
"N-No man would g-give me p-pleasure l-like this- oh god." Y/N said and began to whimper and feel herself getting close.
"Come with me princess." Steve said and used both fo his arms to hold Y/N up against his chest. Her warm filled cheeks pressed up against his hard chest.
She felt safe and contented and it only added more when Bucky came up from behind and held his palm up against her back.
"I'm coming." Y/N moaned out and lifted her head up and looked at Steve, grabbing his face and leaning it down for her to kiss. Steve growled and began to go fast as he reached his release.
He could feel the liquid spill on his thighs, causing his sex drive to increase.
A string of curses filled the air from Steve as he emptied himself inside of her. She felt his cock twitch in her and Bucky caught her before she fell back on the fur.
He rubbed her stomach as she felt knocked out, Steve chuckled and she could see the sweat off his forehead. His hair sticking to it as if he had run a marathon.
"Don't think we're done yet." Bucky said as Steve slowly pulled out, causing Y/N to wince from the empty feeling. "I still need to feel our gorgeous princess."
Bucky then switched places with Steve and Y/N felt his seed falling out.
Bucky thick cock went up and down her folds, collecting her slick and Steve's cum and making it a lubricant for himself.
"Alright princess, if you need me to stop, tell me." Bucky said and Y/N nodded as Steve massaged her breasts. Every so often pinching her nipple, making her jolt.
Bucky began to enter and this was another wave of pain as Bucky stretched her out more.
"It'll get easier over time, Bucky and I will never be satisfied." Steve said and squeezed her left breast. "We'll be filling you up almost every day and imagine our cottage filled with little ones."
Y/N was too hazed to feel anxiety, as Bucky's cock stretched her.
"Steve you were right, velvet." Bucky said and pulled out slowly, then pulling right back in.
Y/N winced and Steve touched her tummy and felt Bucky's bulge.
"You feel that? You feel Bucky cock so full inside you, it barely fits?" Steve asked and Y/N gripped Bucky's cock from Steve's words.
"You we're made for us." Bucky said as he began to set a pace. "Made to be our mate and mother to our children."
"Yes! Yes!" Y/N chanted and began to feel that same feeling of pleasure.
"Good girl princess." Bucky said and began to go harder and faster.
"Look at you taking a real orc's cock like a good girl." Steve said and kissed her cheek.
"Hell, just like that." Bucky said and began to slam into her causing Y/N to scream and arch her back. Bucky felt the same trickle as he did on his face earlier and saw as she spilled over his thighs.
"Yes princess, yes." Bucky said and just as he did Steve, he released inside of her. Both Steve and Bucky's cum coaxed her walls, claiming her as theirs.
Y/N began to breathe heavily once again and Bucky tried not to fall straight on her. So he gently pulled out and left her empty and yet full at the same time.
"Did I do good?" Y/N asked sleepily as both Orcs laid down beside her. Steve grabbed fresh water from the bucket they had and grabbed the ladle and helped her drink a bit.
"Yes, better than we've ever imagine, mate." Steve said and laid down beside her and placed his arm around her stomach.
"You did so good." Bucky said and put his arm around her chest. "Our princess now."
"But-" Y/N tried to talk but Steve shushed her and nuzzled his face into her neck.
"Sleep now, we have plenty of time for talking." Steve said and squeezed her tight.
Steve and Bucky could hear her soft snores as she fell asleep after taking the two Orcs.
"Our princess." Bucky said and looked down at her claimed core. Shutting his eyes as well and falling to sleep.
"Best treasure." Steve whispered and was the last one to sleep.
The three of them laid on the big fur blanket and the only thing that could be heard were frogs and crickets that made sounds in the night.
The lantern began to dim, leaving them in the dark. The princess slept peacefully and for the first time since she's been with the Orcs felt completely safe.

Never leaving
Jason todd x (platonic) reader
Summary: Jason finds out you've gone missing following the escape of Joker. He won't allow the Joker to inflict on you what he suffered. Jason won't stop at anything to bring you home.
Word count: 950
Warning: angst
Tumblr media
Jason was furious. he had just found out the Joker escaped Arkham again, but surprisingly that wasn't the main reason for his rage. You had gone missing three days ago. the whole bat family had been looking for you but not a single one had bothered to bring it up to Jason, typical. He had quite the altercation with Batman due to the fact.
“Why didn't you tell me!” He yelled throwing his fist in the bat’s direction. “It’s not like youre around much Jason” Bruce stated grabbing his wrist, Jason pulled back “This is different. You know me and y/n are closer,” he said through gritted teeth. “And jokers back, with her missing, and it's been a week. A goddamn week!” Jason screamed “We are doing our best Jason, i know what you-“Bruce was cut off “And you know if anyone can find him, it's me!” He pounded on his chest “And you'd be out of control!” Bruce shouted “And the last time you decided to do things your way with the Joker, i died. I won't let you do that to y/n. She doesn't deserve that”Jason put on his helmet and sped out of the batcave on his motorcycle
Jason wasn't very close with any of the bat's adopted family but you were different. You met Jason on a mission months after being taken in by Bruce. After that day you asked who he was and his story, and instead of being disappointed you understood. Apart of you agreed with the way he did things but the other half didn't want to disappoint Batman, he understood. You started spending your patrol nights with him and despite his hard-ass personality, you grew closer. You were the only one who treated him like true family. You were his little sister and he'd die all over again for you.
He didn't know what scared him more, you being dead or being alive with the Joker. Jason searched endlessly and picked up a pattern the Joker had left behind. He was holding you at a warehouse, originally clearly. Jason pinned the location and drove as fast as he could. When he arrived he kicked down the door storming into the dark room “You're going to ruin all the fun!” That to happy voice called. “Step out joker!” He yelled pulling out his gun. “Boo hoo, I've nearly gotten to teach her any manners” The joker stepped in front of Jason. Jason wasted no time knocking him on his ass. “Where is she?!” Jason demanded. “Now why would i tell you that? Don't worry I'll return her like new… like you” The Joker started to laugh. A loud bang was heard with silence following. Jason had killed the bastard with no regret.
Jason searched the warehouse calling your name, worry grew with every passing second until he reached the back where he found a locket door. He docked the door off its hinges and entered the room. “Y/n!” He screamed seeing your body weakly curled in the corner covered in blue and red. “Jason..” your voice rasp “Don't speak,” he said placing his jacket over your body as most of your suit had been ripped off. “It's my fault, i went after him alone” you began to cry “None of this is your fault! Now please be quiet and let me help you,” he said grabbing your shoulders. He bandaged what he could and hoisted you on his back, piggyback as he began to walk out.
“Shit” he mumbled seeing the batmobile in the distance. It stopped in front of him and Batman wasted no time making his way in front of Jason “You're late” Jason stated in a monotone voice. “What happened?” Batman asked “Same thing that happened last time, but i stopped it” Jason replied. “You killed him?” He asked “Don't worry, killing him the last 2 times didn't last long” Jason said with annoyance. “Y/ns coming home with me,” Bruce said holding out his arms. “I don't think so,” Jason said making his way to his bike “She needs medical Jason!” Batman yelled “I've learned,” Jason said throwing a mean glare. Jason sat the both of you on his bike wrapping your arms around his waist. “Y/n?” Batman questioned in a stern tone. “Jason..” you said weakly turning away from Bruce. Jason saw the hurt on his face “Call if you need anything” he said to Jason before turning back “Sure”
You groaned regaining consciousness, when you tried sitting up two hands softly pushed you back down onto the pillow “Stay down” a voice called. You slowly open your eyes seeing Jason stitch up your leg. He finished and softly placed down your leg “you might feel a little groggy from the anesthesia” he explained “Where are we?” You asked “My safe house, your safe here.” He said pulling the blanket over you. “Jason, he told me what he did to you…” Jason sighed tucking in the covers “Don't worry about me” he replied standing up. “I'll leave you to get some rest” he turned around but was quickly stopped by your hand wrapping around his wrist.
“I don’t wanna be alone” you whined “I'll just be across the hall” he explained removing your hand “Please Jason, don't leave me now” Your voice cracked and your eyes displayed a fear he knew all too well. He sat at the side of the bed. “I'll be here when you wake up,” he said whipping away your tears, you gave a weak smile before allowing yourself to drift to sleep. Jason gently took your hand into his, caressing his thumb over your knuckles, “i won't ever leave you”

chapter eleven : angel (14k) | playlist | AO3 | next
🎵 in this au, deftones=corroded coffin. the playlist is a combination of R's sad girl music vibes and some foreshadowing. the songs for this chapter are #35-#36. #36, the title song, doesn't appear in the text, so you can play it whenever it feels appropriate.
I've been afraid all of my life
Crippled with anxiety, shame and doubt
And sometimes, sometimes I'd like to shout
At the top of my lungs and just let it out
What has that fear ever done for me
But hold me back?
What has jealousy and hate ever done for you
But remind you of what you think you lack?
So give me love and give me compassion
Self-forgiveness and give me some passion
I love you even if you don't love me
I love you even if you can't love me
Angel— First Aid Kit
There’s a moment upon waking on Saturday that you feel the same as you did twenty-four hours before. The moon is round and full; your earth is cold and numb. Its beams are peaceful, tranquil, sterile as they glint off your frosted leaves. You have not yet recalled the warm light that awakened your growth and left it just as quickly to the dark of twilight, the whisper of smoke that flowed into your lungs and left you breathless with poignant longing. You have not yet noticed the puffiness of your eyes, the rattle of your breath in your lungs, or the deep, rending ache at the bottom of you.
You blink, and as the late sunlight falls across your eyes, you remember.
Penny had found you howling on the floor, puddled in your charcoal despair. Your sister’s arms clasped you tight as she sputtered her distressed confusion, begging you to tell her what was wrong. You’d worked it out in bits and pieces— explanations choked through trembling lips, halted by the gasps and sobs and whines of a wounded animal. You’d felt like a child when she rocked you, shushing you softly, petting your hair like your mother had when you’d come home from elementary school scraped raw from your friends’ rejection. In the moment, you hadn’t cared how childlike you’d become, more than eager to relinquish your twenty-four-year-old self to the comfort of your sister’s surety. She wiped your face clear of the tracks of your mascara, the color dark like charcoal to stain the sleeves of her sweater. It stained Penny, but in doing so, she took it from you— took it until your tears dried up, until your muscles trembled with relief and fatigue. Penny held you on the kitchen floor as you wrested back control of your body. You scrubbed your hands over your wet, flushed face, whimpering into your palms until you finally quieted.
You picked yourself up then, moving through the steps of recovery: retreating to the bathroom to wash your cheeks, to run your wrists under warm water, to take deep breaths until they were no longer labored, the entire time avoiding the sight of your swollen face in the mirror. When you’d emerged, Penny was thumping the knife against the cutting board, holding firm as you offered in a small voice to take over again. Obstinate, your sister refused you, directing you to the couch with a firm hand and concern shining in her eyes. She finished your stir fry, serving you a bowl you thanked her for with a brief smile but ate listlessly before turning in for an early night.
After the tease of Eddie’s presence, no longer can you feel pleasantly numb. Instead, now that the well of your tears has dried, you just feel empty. Bereft. Like the earth has been churned, disturbed; turned over and left wanting for what has been removed. But when you heave a deep sigh, breath stirring the motes floating like fairy dust in the shaft of light spilling from Penny’s beloved window, you reach tentatively down to find that your growth is still there, standing tall. When you run a finger lightly up its stalk, it trembles within, leaves quivering a response to your tentative touch. It hurts, like the soreness of a bruise, but it does not waver. You trace the green up to where it vines around your ribcage, tendrils peeking to greet your exploration with a gentle touch. And as you pull yourself out of bed, for the first time, you fully accept your growth. Yes, there is pain where it has been cut deep by the sharpness of flinty words and languished in the cold light of the moon, further wounded by the sudden reminder of what you have lost. But there is also strength. Your growth holds your bones, cradling them securely; its fruit has not fallen or begun to molder and rot. The realization that it cannot be uprooted— that it is a part of you— is not one of grief as it was last night. Instead, it is the acceptance that what Eddie tended inside you cannot be culled. No matter what happens now, you have what you need to thrive.
This recognition carries you through your morning routine completed many hours late, and you emerge from the shower with renewed vigor and a healthy flush to your cheeks. Where you might have clothed yourself in baggy comfort intending to spend the day on the couch wrapped in the television's mind-numbing noise, you instead dress to make yourself feel good in your skin: structured skinny jeans, a clingy long-sleeve, and fun earrings. The swelling around your eyes is soothed by cool eye cream, and the flush in your cheeks is accentuated by a fresh face of light makeup. Your hair isn’t left limp to dry slowly on its own. Instead, you style it, facing yourself head-on in the bathroom mirror as you run your fingers through soft strands. You’re pleasantly surprised to see bright eyes and the dimple of a smile that doesn’t feel forced, so far from the anguished girl you’d been the night before.
Penny is equally as surprised when you wander into the kitchen, stomach growling from the late waking hour, closer to evening than to morning. “Hey,” she greets you cautiously, jangling keys halting in her palm, eyes wide and locked on you as you duck to root in the refrigerator for sustenance.
“Hey!” You return her greeting warmly, your fond smile growing when you notice the worry furrowing her brow where she’s poised near the front door, coat half-on. “You heading out?”
“I— yeah.” She confirms even as she starts to reverse the motion, shedding her coat as she explains, “I didn’t think you’d be up for a while. I was gonna get the ingredients for your cake. I can wait and keep you company, though.” She hangs the coat on the rack, tacking on, “I’ll just go later.”
Your brows jump at the reminder. Before last night’s unexpected visitor, you'd told her about the cake you were planning to make this weekend for your coworker Sherry’s birthday on Monday. A box cake didn’t feel like enough to repay the years of kindness the motherly woman had bestowed on your office, so you’d resolved to make it from scratch: a decadent chocolate cake with a cup of fresh-brewed coffee as the secret ingredient. It’s not as difficult to bake as it might sound, but you do need to buy semi-sweet cocoa and powdered sugar for the buttercream frosting.
“Don’t you have Charlie’s awards thing tonight?”
Penny exhales a long, weary sigh. “Y/n. I’m not going anymore.”
What ensues is a brief sisterly squabble in which Penny insists on staying home to take care of you, and you insist that you need nothing of the sort. “Look at me!” You exclaim, arms thrown wide in exasperation. “Do I look like I need you to baby me?” You soften. “I’m really okay, Pen. Charlie will be so disappointed if you miss his ceremony. It’s not every day your boyfriend receives the medal of valor in firefighting.”
Your sister huffs, grumbling, “It’s not the medal of valor; it’s a medal of valor. There’s more than one.” She runs her eyes over you, assessing, hedging, trying to penetrate through any facade you may be putting on. When she sighs again, this time in resignation, your smile widens to a beam. “Fine.” She concedes. “We can go to the store together, and then I’ll go to the ceremony.”
With a sharp huff, you cross your arms. “Pen—!”
Penny doesn’t win that argument either, begrudgingly acknowledging that you’re right; she wouldn’t have enough time to get ready if she accompanied you to the grocery store. You scarf down some food and make a list of your shopping for the week, and by the time you hear her clicking back to the front door, you've finished your list. You see her clasping her earring, now bedecked in high heels and a pretty dress. “I’ll be back tonight,” she promises you from the threshold. “Text me if you need me, okay?”
The tenderness in her voice is clear, and you look up from your list to flash her a soft, grateful smile. “I will, Pen. Love you.”
“Love you.”
The trip to the grocery store just down the street from Penny’s house is both mundane and soothing. It’s dated, but the aisles are always clean, and you slip into the anonymous sea of people doing their Saturday afternoon shopping, a small smile of contentment blooming on your face as your cart squeaks rhythmically with your easy steps. Methodically, you mosy down each aisle, reaching soft fingers toward fruits and vegetables, grains and rice. As you go, you scratch them from the handwritten list nestled in your purse, placed conveniently in the top basket of your cart. The routine of it all— the normalcy— brings comfort.
You reach the baking aisle near the tail end of your list, with only the dairy aisle left to be visited. The speakers are playing ‘Ain’t It Fun’ as you plop the floppy bag of powdered sugar absentmindedly into your cart, eyes scanning the shelves for the semi-sweet cocoa powder. You step back with a contemplative pooch to your lips, brows perking when you finally spot it on the top shelf. It’s pushed back from the edge, likely one of the last ones, not commonly restocked. You move in until your front is nearly pressed to the shelves, biting your lip as your wiggling fingers flop for the plastic tub. Futiley, you meet nothing but air and metallic shelving. You plant your hands on your hips, reassessing with squinted eyes and a more exaggerated pooch when you register a tall presence at your side.
“What’re you trying to get?”
The unfamiliar man is middle-aged, donning a checkered shirt and kind crow's feet that crinkle in their practiced creases when he smiles encouragingly at you. You turn shy eyes back to the shelf. “The semi-sweet cocoa,” you say, motioning to the top shelf. “It’s too far back for me.”
Wordlessly, he reaches up, hand disappearing from your sight as it wedges between other containers of chocolate. It comes back quickly with your treasure, and the man drops it into your grateful hands.
“Thank you so much,” you say, and he meets you with an easy smile and a wave of his hand.
“‘S nothing. Have a good one.”
He’s turning away as you smile back. “You too—”
A familiar voice from behind interjects, feminine and light. “I can't believe I ever fell for that. Your innocent little sweet girl routine.”
Light but mocking. Feminine but laced with venom.
You freeze with dumbfounded shock, hand poised on the bar of your cart as your eyes flick and catch bright blue.
Chrissy.
Her appearance is startling, and not just because you never would have expected to see her here outside the city. She looks disheveled in a way only cool girls can pull off, but as your eyes dart over her, you realize that Chrissy isn’t artfully disheveled. She’s actually disheveled: hair a tangle of waves piled into a messy bun atop her head, face creased with old foundation, body wrapped in a puffy cardigan, its bulk on her tiny frame making her shoulders appear frail where they’re bunched by her ears. Her frame is tight with tension, arms crossed, dainty fingers digging tight into the fuzzy material, scrunching it in the crooks of her elbows. And on her face is an expression you’ve never seen: eyes big and glassy but sharp like steel, bow lips contorted in a sneer. There’s something beneath the surface of her powdery-soft skin, and it’s writhing like the coils of a lithe snake, poised to strike.
Chrissy’s hard stare doesn’t waver in the face of your wide-eyed surprise. Instead, she jolts out a hand, pink nails flashing to points at the end of her thin fingers. “Show me the texts, y/n. Eddie deleted them all.”
Your mouth goes dry at the demand, and your spread fingers twitch into a loose fist where your forearm rests on the cart’s handle, your wrist curling away from your purse. Your many late-night musical exchanges with Eddie flash in your mind, largely innocent aside from the occasional ‘sweet girl’ from Eddie and the daringness of your ‘Touch Tank’ send. Though, then there’s the last conversation from four months ago, arranging for you to come to see him at his show. Heat prickles down the back of your neck, discomfort tightening in your chest as you open your mouth to reply.
Not quickly enough, apparently, because Chrissy’s pressing on, that snake writhing with the twist of her lips. “Or,” she snaps, “maybe you’re too smart for that. Maybe you’ve deleted them all, too. Or maybe you’d stuck to calling him instead. Is that it, y/n? Have you been calling my boyfriend in the middle of the night, begging for his cock?”
You flush instantly hot with embarrassment as the crude word pops from Chrissy’s bow lips, eyes darting to the anonymous bodies in the aisle around you. Their eyes flash to the pair of you instantly with her exclamation. But the absurdity of the question, the utter wrongness of it, rouses you to action. Your voice is soft and edged with pleading as you turn to her fully. “Chrissy, what? I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
She scoffs harshly, brows twisting up in incredulity. There’s so much venom in Chrissy’s voice that it’s hard to imagine it’s coming from her pretty mouth. “Don’t play dumb with me, y/n. I know you made up some excuse so he’d see you. ‘Oh,’” she whines mockingly, “‘my car is broken! Eddie, come save me!’” Her gaze goes flat. “And, of course, you convinced him to give you a ride home so you could fuck him in the back of his van.”
The weight of others’ silent gazes presses upon you from either side of the aisle. Deep mortification rises immediately and rushes down your spine, leaving you flushed and prickling hot with shame. It’s made worse by the knowledge that Chrissy’s accusations are on display for these anonymous others; their stares are oppressive as the viper strikes with dripping fangs. “Gonna deny it?” She spits.
There is the initial instinct to deny, to shrink away and hide. It would save face, rescue you from the judgment of those people pretending to shop, their ears honed to every word of juicy tension being exchanged in the baked goods aisle of the grocery store like a roadside spectacle. But it would be a lie. And there are firm roots at the bottom of you, anchoring you in the truth.
So your green straightens your spine. White blooms tip up your chin. Your red fruit nourishes your tongue, unlocking your jaw as you gaze into the sharp blue eyes of your friend. “I won’t deny it,” you say, voice soft but not weak, gaze even. “Eddie did help me when my car broke down on the highway. He did give me a ride home. And we did sleep together.”
Chrissy’s brow twitches minutely, eyes widening as you acknowledge it so plainly, making no attempt to evade the truth. She appears briefly to be at a loss for words, and it occurs to you that she must have expected you to argue, that you’d probably thrown her off by admitting the truth so readily. The remorse that leaks into your expression is sincere. “I know it was wrong. We shouldn’t have done that. I shouldn’t have done that to you. You’re my friend.” A lump rises in your throat as her face flickers. “I know I can’t ever make up for it, but I’m sorry, Chrissy. I’m really sorry.”
Chrissy’s eyes are big and glassy, though they’re still hard, as if she’s refusing to let tears fall. Her face twitches— brow, lip, nose, jaw— and suddenly she looks so frail, like with just one small nudge, she’d shatter into dainty little pieces.
Everyone knows butterflies are beautiful, bold and boastful in their colors and patterns. It does something to a person, that knowledge; they come to expect attention and praise. They come to think they’re entitled to it. So it’s unfathomable— impossible, really— to consider that a moth, with its thick body and more subtle colors, could possibly turn the head of one who’d long been allured by the butterfly’s charm. It defies all that the butterfly knows.
This monarch— this queen— has suckled her whole life from milkweed flowers, storing toxins in her body. Bold, beautiful, and boastful; powdery-soft, yet unable to be anything but poisonous. Chrissy Cunningham, doomed from the moment she nibbled the leaves of the milkwood, the only sustenance the world provided.
Your sincerity is not enough, and it never could be.
A mocking scoff falls from bow lips, and Chrissy’s eyes narrow nearly to slits. “You're so full of shit, y/n. You’re actually trying to convince me you’re sorry when I know you’ve been trying to get Eddie to leave me for months. It’s sick.” She cocks a hip, and beyond her, a mother and her daughter amble by the aisle; the older woman cranes her head to keep looking as they pass.
Your eyes dart to them briefly, but you’re shaking your head before Chrissy even finishes speaking, quick and earnest with your reply. “No, Chrissy. When I broke up with Steve, I talked to Eddie a few days later, and I told him that we shouldn't see each other anymore. I haven’t seen him for four months. I hadn’t seen him,” you correct, “until he came by yesterday. To talk,” you tack on, not wanting to imply something unintentionally. Your eyes search hers, brow creasing but stable in your truth. “I am sorry for what I did to you, Chrissy. But I haven’t been talking to Eddie.”
She shakes her head before you’ve finished speaking, just like you had, but the motion is sharp and jerky as if to dislodge your words from between her ears. “What, did you two rehearse this or something?”
You’re about to point out that it’s not rehearsed, it’s just the truth, but Chrissy changes tack abruptly, dropping her arms to ball her fists at her sides. Her voice becomes shriller, more acerbic with each word. “What did you do to get him to finally do it, huh? What lies did you feed him, you homewrecker? You stupid slut!”
The words are like a verbal slap, but not in the way she intends. The unfairness of it— of calling you a homewrecker when you’d made the torturous decision to break things off with Eddie to try to do right by Chrissy— summons more heat beneath the collar of your shirt, but not from embarrassment. Your creased brow tightens to a frown. “Look, I know you’re upset, Chrissy, and you have every right to be. But I’m not a homewrecker.”
Gone are wide smiles made charming by crooked teeth. Cute giggles exchanged across restaurant tables are distant memories. Instead, Chrissy’s laughter is jagged, edged with mania— a rattle in her throat, like the tail of a venomous snake. “You’re right,” she says, blue eyes glittering as she sneers, “You’re not a homewrecker because you’re just a temporary fuck. Once Eddie gets you out of his system, he’ll come crawling right back to me.”
A smooth customer service voice interrupts the music above your heads, announcing a special on certain varieties of Halloween candy. It hits you again— the absurdity that this sensitive conversation is happening in the baking aisle of the grocery store. It’s more than absurd, really. It’s a violation. But Chrissy is still ranting, all pretense of softness stripped from her voice as it pierces over the announcement. “—asshole is lucky to be with me. Lucky I’ve put up with his dumb shit for all these years—”
More than anything, this is what makes your chest begin to buzz, indignation tightening in your limbs. You raise your voice for the first time, questioning heatedly, “How can you even say that? Eddie’s a good man, and he deserves—”
You’re cut off with a hiss. “What do you know about what he deserves?”
Your reply is firm, decisive. “He deserves respect.”
Part of you is satisfied to see how Chrissy’s porcelain face goes pink with utter rage as you imply that you respect Eddie more than she does, that you care for him more than she does. And it seems that perhaps that’s what does it— what shifts Chrissy’s motivation from wanting answers to wanting to strike you hard and deep, to sink her fangs into your flesh and inflict damage.
Chrissy Cunningham’s beautiful face contorts into something ugly. “No self-respecting guy would ever really want to be with a girl like you, y/n.” Her eyes flick you up and down condescendingly. “That fat ass is only good for one thing—”
“That’s enough.”
You blink, almost taken aback at the sound of your own voice. There is no wobble; it is commanding, firm enough that Chrissy’s dainty jaw snaps shut as if compelled, closing her fangs away.
The bite of her insult is the culmination of everything you’ve always feared. That you’re not pretty enough. Not good enough. Not enough to truly love. But where those words would once have sunk into the empty earth at the bottom of you, seeping through the soil to poison you slowly, you’ve since been tended, and your green is verdant and tall.
Chrissy’s venom falls like rain onto your green. It sizzles as it slides along the soft plush of your vines and stems, but it does not reach your earth. Your leaves quiver, and they flick it away.
You meet the eyes of your former friend directly, and you do not waver. “You can believe me or not because I know the truth, and nothing can change that. But I won’t stand here and have you insinuate that I’m less of a person because of how I look. I know what I’m worth.” You take firm hold of your cart, fists tightening around the handle, swinging it around to face her. Chrissy flinches, and you merely quirk a brow as you calmly maneuver the cart around her. As you come up even with her, close enough to reach out and touch the fuzz of her sweater or the tangle of the strawberry-blonde waves atop her head, you regard her with one last cool stare. “Eddie makes his own decisions, and something tells me he won’t regret this one.”
Chin up, head held high, you guide your squeaky cart with even steps from the aisle, ignoring the weight of the stares you gather as you pass. You haven’t hit the dairy aisle yet, but you veer toward the front of the store to pay, body on autopilot as your mind replays the last few minutes of your life.
Once you stop in front of the self-check-out kiosk, it starts to hit you— the wave of emotion that rises as your adrenaline wears off. You’d been utterly blindsided by the confrontation with Chrissy, and in the moment, all you could do was react. Now, you’re left reeling. What just happened? Your fingers tremble as you hastily swipe your items across the sensor, dropping them into paper bags as you try to conceal that rising feeling. Your cheeks puff as you exhale shakily, inserting your credit card, foot tapping against the tile until that mechanical voice reminds you not to forget your receipt. You snatch it from the machine and contain, contain, contain until you load your groceries in the trunk and slide into the driver’s seat of your old blue car. The vehicle is now a reminder of your shame, which was broadcasted by your former friend for all to hear.
In the safety of your car, the tide overtakes you. Bewilderment and humiliation crest, manifesting in a trembling bottom lip and the hot roll of silent tears down your cheeks. You sniffle but don’t wipe your cheeks; instead, you pull out your phone and call the only person who can clarify what the fuck is going on.
This time, you think he might not answer, but breathless smoke greets you at the last moment. “Hello?”
There’s a sense of deja vu as you hear Eddie’s voice on the other end, close but distorted slightly. The loud grind of something mechanical in the background disorients you further, and your breath hitches as you try to speak through the tears. “Hello?” Eddie repeats his greeting with an edge of urgency. “Y/n?”
The sound of your name on his lips forces the gasp through your lips, a shuddering exhale of desperation and relief. “Eddie,” you choke, and his urgency increases tenfold.
“Sweetheart, what’s wrong? Are you okay?”
“I—” you sniffle, fingers fisting on your thigh as you push through your trembling. You’re trying to tell him what happened, but the wave of your emotion has the thoughts swirling in your head, stuttering out through clumsy lips. “I was in the store, and— and Chrissy was— she said all this stuff, and I— I don’t know what’s going on,” you end with a helpless whine, a plea for clarity punctuated with another thick sniffle.
Eddie sounds nearly as helpless, though also confused. “Y/n, I can’t really understand you.” There’s a brief pause, and then a question asked as if he’s afraid of the answer. “Are you crying?”
“Mmm—” a choked little whimper is all you can manage, but it must be confirmation enough.
“Where are you?” Eddie’s voice is so gentle and concerned that the tears flow faster. “I’ll come, sweet girl. Just tell me where you are.”
You’re only five minutes from home; it makes no sense to have him meet you in the parking lot. You run your finger over the seam on the steering wheel, lips twisting as you ask, “C-can you just come to Penny’s? I n-need—”
You don’t even have to finish the sentence. “I’m clocking out right now,” Eddie says, and your finger halts in its path, stomach sinking.
“Oh—” Your dismay is clear in the smallness of your voice. “I forgot you work Saturdays.” You swipe beneath your eyes with your free hand, steadying yourself with a deep breath. “Nevermind, you can—”
You’re about to tell him he can just come over after work, but Eddie doesn’t let you. “I’ll be there in twenty,” he says, and then he’s gone without another word.
As you stare at your phone screen, guilt prickles low within you, but it can’t overwhelm the sense of relief that Eddie’s insistence brings. You keep the promise of clarity at the forefront of your mind as you drive the short distance back to your sister’s house, trying to ignore the thrill of anticipation that blooms low at the thought of seeing Eddie again. Still, the implications of Chrissy’s confrontation begin to seep through your defenses. By the time you’re unlocking Penny’s front door, paper bags loaded in your arms, you’re quivering for an entirely different reason.
You unload the bags onto the kitchen island and shuffle to the bathroom, somewhat reluctant to look in the mirror and assess the damage. When you finally do, you’re relieved to see you’re not as much of a mess as you’d feared, especially compared to last night. And it’s not like you’re trying to hide that you’d been crying— Eddie already knows you were. Thankfully, your mascara hasn’t really run aside from a small smudge beneath each eye, and though your cheeks and nose are blushed and hot, and your lashes are clumped and wet, a few tissues get you back into adequate shape.
And good thing, too. Because, though it’s nearly incomprehensible since it’s only been ten minutes, someone is knocking on your door, and you know it isn’t Penny.
Deepening light spills across the paper bags on your kitchen island like the smoldering embers of the day have flared once more before fizzling out. Golden hour, you think absently, eyes locked on the mahogany door as if you can see through to the man you know is standing on the other side. Your heart thunders as you shuffle closer, the tide of your emotions rising again, prickling at your eyes. Relief, trepidation, anticipation, hope, fear. They all rush through you, thundering with each frantic pump of your heart as your toes nudge against the welcome mat. The metal of the doorknob is slippery in your palm.
Slowly, almost shyly, you open the door.
Eddie is rocking on the balls of his feet, one knee jiggling, fist tapping his opposite thigh in a futile attempt to release the tension, but the motions ease as he sees you. All that’s left is the rapid rise of his chest beneath a grease-stained gray tank, visible thanks to the coveralls tied around his hips.
The first thing you register is that he’s dirty. Impossibly dirty. His pale quartz neck is glistening and smudged with it, and the pits of his tank are darkened with the evidence of his labor. His curls are tied back but loosely now, a single head shake away from coming undone; the dark pieces falling around his jaw are frizzy, and his bangs cling to his forehead. His face is darkened by grime left behind by hasty swipes of those calloused fingers, which you imagine must have pinched his chin in thought, scrubbed over his face in consternation, and scratched at his jaw when the drying sweat itched him.
Eddie is utterly filthy. But when he raises his hands, grubby and dark like charcoal, you want nothing more than to feel him stain every inch of you. Your face softens, the relief of his presence unable to be concealed.
“Baby—” The choked endearment seems pulled from involuntarily, and your breath hitches at the tenderness of it. Eddie’s brow pinches, brown eyes melting like honey as his fingers extend, seeking you as if by instinct. His eyes flick from your face to his hands as they reach for you, widening as if he’s just noticed the grease marring his skin.
Those calloused fingers jerk back before they make contact with you, and the abruptness has you jolting back too. You only just now notice that you’d been leaning in, swaying toward him subconsciously.
For a moment, you and Eddie just stare at each other, the relief of your reunion ticking into awkwardness as you simultaneously flinch away. Quickly, Eddie blurts, “Sorry, it’s just— I’m a fuckin’ mess—”
Your brows flash up as you rush to reassure him, bumbling over yourself as you step back to make room for him to come in. “No, it’s okay, really—” You huff a little awkward chuckle in an attempt to dispel the tension, biting your lip as Eddie clomps inside and pauses on the welcome mat. As he makes a brusque attempt to wipe off his hands on his coveralls, which are surprisingly less dirty than his skin, you offer, “You can wash in the kitchen sink.”
Wide brown eyes blink at you, and you flush without knowing why. “There’s more room there than in the bathroom,” you explain before realizing that maybe Eddie thinks you’re telling him he needs to wash up to come in the house. You hasten to add, “I mean, i-if you want to.”
He answers after a beat. “Yeah, no, that’d be good.” He’s playing with his upper lip with the tip of his tongue, a nervous gesture that you need to look away from immediately. You can already feel your moths stirring, and you haven’t even gotten any answers yet. You can't afford to be distracted.
You lead Eddie to the kitchen and he trails after you, lanky limbs tucked close to his body like he’s afraid to brush against anything. The farmhouse sink is deep, concealing Eddie’s ink up to the elbows as he wets them and pumps dish soap into his hands, scrubbing over the length of his arms, almost up to his shoulders. Dirt swirls into white porcelain as he runs calloused fingers carefully, though somewhat sheepishly, over his cheeks, mouth, and chin, then down onto his neck and over his collarbone, dripping water to darken the gray of his tank.
Brown flashes toward you, and it's then you realize you’re hovering.
You whirl away, snatching up the paper towels on the island and plopping them down beside him. You nudge them a little closer, eyes trailing over the hair that curls delicately at the edge of his ear. “Here,” you say, nodding your chin toward the paper towels when he glances over.
“Thanks.” You nod, backing off and busying yourself by unpacking the groceries from your paper bags. A loud rip draws your eyes from a container of bright red strawberries back to the sink. You suppress a smile when you see the ridiculous amount of paper towels Eddie’s torn from the roll, though you can’t help the exasperated shake of your head as you pile the powdered sugar and cocoa together, fidgeting with them to occupy your fingers.
“Where’s— oh.” You hear Eddie cut himself off behind you, ears honed to the heaviness of his bootsteps and the creak of the garbage can as he lifts the lid to drop the paper in. You swallow, nerves rising as all goes silent. You glance over your shoulder to find him damp but notably cleaner than when he came in.
Hesitantly, you offer, “Do you wanna sit?” You motion toward one of the stools at the island. He accepts your invitation soundlessly, jerking over, awkward like a newborn colt as he folds himself onto the wood. Gingerly, Eddie places his elbows on the counter, moving slowly in your space as if overly aware he’s invading it. And, sure, you’d invited him here, but you can feel it too— that foreignness, same as you’d felt with his dark presence on the couch that first time in your and Steve’s apartment. After four months, it's conspicuous and unfamiliar in a way the shock of his presence yesterday hadn't allowed you to truly notice..
You’re unsure whether to sit down or stay standing, unsure what to do with your hands, unsure what to say. But when Eddie glances at you and away, back and forth again with little hesitant flits of his wide brown eyes, you call upon the green that grows sturdy through your center. It was you who asked him to come; it should be up to you to begin this conversation.
“Sorry I wasn’t making sense on the phone,” you start. “But thanks for coming.” You glance at Eddie, and he nods, expression open and waiting. “I guess I’ll just… start at the beginning. I was at the grocery store, grocery shopping—” your cheeks pink at the inanity of the statement, and you throw a little sheepish glance at Eddie. “As one does,” you poke fun at yourself, and a corner of his mouth quirks in amusement, though it doesn’t assuage the concern in his eyes. Your fingers begin to itch, so you grab one of the paper bags, folding it as you talk. You speak over the crinkles, musing, “I was getting ingredients for this cake I’m making for my coworker. I turned around, and Chrissy was just… there.” The folded bag gets placed on the counter, and you smooth it with your fingers, wondering how Chrissy found you, not even at your sister’s apartment, but out at the store. Your nose wrinkles in confusion. “How did she even know where I was? I haven’t talked to her in months. I don’t even know—”
It dawns on you suddenly.
“She must have used ‘find my friends,’” you say, eyes darting to Eddie in realization. “I forgot I had that on.” You suddenly register your fidgeting fingers and force them to still; shyness blooms, but you push through. “...Is that how you found me?”
Eddie licks along his bottom lip. “No,” he answers, holding your gaze. “I asked Steve.”
You aren’t sure which is more of a shock: Chrissy showing up out of the blue or Eddie asking your ex-boyfriend, who knows you broke up with him because of your feelings for the other man, to help him find you. You blink, dumbstruck, voice a little weak. Reeling from the implication of it. “And he actually—?”
Eddie’s brown eyes are soft with the knowledge you share, and he doesn’t speak. He just nods.
A welling of emotions rises in you then: a potent mixture of gratefulness and wistfulness, of poignant, bittersweet appreciation as you consider how, even though you’d hurt each other, it hasn’t changed who Steve is at his core.
Despite his mistakes, Steve Harrington is a good man.
You manage a little smile, and Eddie does the same. You find yourself hoping that maybe the threads that tie Eddie and Steve together may not snap after all.
“So what happened?”
Eddie’s smoke voice prompts you out of your reverie, and your smile turns wry. "She cornered me in the baking aisle, demanding to see the texts she thought you deleted."
Eddie huffs an incredulous chuckle, but there's no humor in it. "I'm so fucking sorry." He sighs, scrubbing a hand over his face and mussing his bangs in a move that makes your yearning bloom, though you know he didn’t intend it to. "I was gonna talk to you later this weekend. I spent all last night collecting my shit off the lawn and moving into Gareth's place—"
You interrupt, incredulous. “She threw your stuff outside?”
“Oh yeah,” Eddie chuckles, and there is some humor in it this time. It’s dry but present as he tips his head, adding, “She was... not happy.”
“I gathered that,” you say, not unkindly.
Eddie sobers, leaning back on the stool as he gazes at you. His voice is quieter when he speaks again. “What did she say to you?”
Chrissy’s shrill voice echoes in your mind, a haze of diluted venom that mists your green.
—you homewrecker, you stupid slut—
—asshole’s lucky I put up with his shit for years—
—he’ll come crawling back—
—a girl like you—
Leaves sizzle, and white flowers shake; you avert your eyes, voice a bit small. “A-a bunch of stuff, Eddie. You don't wanna hear it all.” He accepts your reticence with a reassuring nod, and gratefulness dilutes the poison. Your eyes catch on the powdered sugar and cocoa, a welcome distraction you latch to. “I need to start baking this cake,” you say. You’re surprised when Eddie perks.
“I can help you.”
You’re reminded of the other time Eddie helped you in the kitchen. How nervous you’d been watching him talk with Steve and Chrissy over on your couch. How his body nearly brushed yours when he reached up to take down the crackers; how you’d feared he was trying to make a move when you weren’t yet ready.
Now you know he wasn’t.
Now you know he never would have.
Before you can suppress it, a mischievous smile tugs at your lips. Eddie spots it, matching it with a bemused smile of his own. “What?” He snaps playfully.
Your amusement is clear. “Remember when you dumped the crackers on the tray the first time you came to the apartment?”
Eddie husks a chuckle, scrubbing a hand again over his face. When it drops, you’re surprised to see a tinge of pink. “I was nervous,” he admits.
Shock and delight. “Nervous around little old me?” You tease, eyes sparkling.
“Yes!” The word bursts out of him as he leans over the counter toward you, the tips of his ears still pink when he flops back again. “I dunno,” he says, a little bashful. “I just didn't wanna mess things up.”
To know that beneath the bravado and his dark ink exterior, Eddie had felt just as you had... Warmth blooms as your moth wings flutter. You’re instantly more endeared to him. “You didn’t mess things up,” you say quietly, and you know he sees it, hears it— the evidence of your feeling. You take a quick breath, continuing on. “Okay. You can help me with the cake.”
Eddie scrambles up eagerly as you pull up the recipe on your phone, setting it between you on the counter. Together you prepare to bake, moving around each other carefully, feeling out the unpracticed rhythm of sharing a space. Eddie surveys the ingredients and retrieves the wet from the fridge as you gather the rest of the dry. You brew the cup of coffee and direct him towards the utensils— spatula to the right of the sink, electric beater in the deep drawer beneath it. As you grease and flour the pan, he asks you how to set the oven. And all throughout, you find the clarity you’d wanted, punctuating your discussion with little directions and adjustments as you bake together.
“So, yeah,” you say. “Chrissy wasn't quiet about it when she confronted me. She knew about the van, and she accused me of trying to, like, convince you to—” you stumble on the word, heart leaping, though you try to conceal it— “b-break up with her.”
Blessedly, it’s easier to talk about this as Eddie cracks eggs into the metal bowl, tongue tip sneaking between his lips. But at the waver in your voice, his brown eyes find yours.
“Shit,” he mutters, dropping his wrists to lean against the counter. “Fuck, y/n, I'm so sorry. If I had any idea she'd do that to you…” Eddie sighs, eyes heavy with regret. You find yourself wishing you could take it from him. “I didn't say anything like that, that you wanted me to break up with her or something. Probably shouldn't have told her anything at all, but she just—"
Eddie breaks off, glancing away, jaw tight. The pain in his expression is clear, and you think of claws in his back, blood staining hotel sheets. Though it had been a shock that Chrissy knew about the van, and part of you wants to be indignant that you’d been blindsided, you can’t really be mad at Eddie. You’d seen it for too long— the hold she has over him.
Had, your mind whispers, and wings flutter.
"It's not your fault." Eddie shakes his head, curls coming loose, but you don’t let him dismiss your reassurance. You pause with the electric beater in the bowl, poised but off, ducking your head to catch his gaze. Once he looks at you, you continue earnestly, "You told her the truth, Eddie. I'm not mad at you for telling her the truth. You did nothing wrong."
Eddie quirks a half-hearted smile at you, though he does look relieved. Satisfied, you start the beater, and he talks a little louder over the whir. "She made all that up about you in her head because, well." He looks away, and you keep your gaze on the chocolate mixture in the bowl, hoping it’ll be easier for him to talk without your eyes on him. It seems to be, because he continues, "I did try at first. To pretend nothing had changed. But Chris, she could always tell when something was off with me. The more I tried to tell her everything was fine, the more she'd push. The more she'd need me to do to try to convince her." He rubs at his knuckles, and you know he's missing his rings.
"She started, like..." When he pauses, you look up to see Eddie watching you. "Well, I dunno if you wanna hear this."
You take a slow breath through your nose to resist the rise of your anxiety. You want Eddie to feel free to share, just as he makes you feel. And part of you also just wants to know. "You can tell me," you assure him. "If you want to."
Eddie runs his tongue against the inside of his cheek, eyes dipping to his hands as he holds the bowl steady for you. "Couple months ago she started dropping all these hints, like, that she wanted me to buy her a ring. Came to a point that I started working overtime just to have more time away from home. Kind of delaying the inevitable, in a way, but... I dunno. I knew what I wanted to do long before I did it."
You glance up again to see him looking at you, face so soft, and it makes your throat go thick. "I just knew it was gonna be rough," he continues. "That she wasn't gonna make it easy. But then yesterday, when I heard you—"
He breaks off, and you turn off the beaters, resting them on the counter. Chocolate batter drips slowly back into the silver bowl, and you keep your eyes on it, trying not to let your lip wobble. Eddie's voice seems louder in the sudden silence. Hoarse, more labored when he continues. "When I heard you cry like that— God, y/n, I just... It just all clicked into place for me. Honestly, I didn't care anymore how ugly it was going to be." He looks at you mournfully, eyes glassy, and your green squeezes you until your sternum cracks.
You don’t hesitate to cup his cheek, wanting to convey the depth of your feeling.
Compassion for his situation; heartache for the way he needed to rend his flesh to get free.
Understanding for why it took so long; forgiveness for what he did to you yesterday.
And a tinge of guilt. Guilt that you’d been the one to ask him to stay.
"Eddie—" His name falls from your lips in a tender whisper, and when he lists into your touch, you hitch a tiny whimper.
"I'm sorry, sweet girl," he whispers. "I never want you to cry like that again."
Your growth reaches and strives for him, chest aching as your chin quivers. “I’m sorry, too,” you whisper.
Eddie’s brow wrinkles in confusion but crumples when you clarify in a tiny, trembling voice, “I’m sorry I told you to stay.”
The understanding dawns between his eyes, and it’s the blooming ache of a bruise between you. You both sit in the moment until the emotional whiplash of the last two days begins to overwhelm you, stinging at the corners of your eyes.
And Eddie can see it written on your face. He takes your wrist in his calloused fingers, pulling your hand gently from his face to press a brief, chaste kiss to your palm. The press of his lips soothes the mottling of your hurt, and as he holds your hand against his mouth, your thumb draws tenderly along his cheek.
The understanding you and Eddie share is the blooming ache of a bruise, but now, it can start to heal.
He released you gently, and when he speaks again, Eddie’s voice is hoarse and quiet, but the question he asks isn't what you expect. He motions to the batter between you, asking, "You want this in the pan?"
You chuckle, and it comes out a little watery. "I think I'll pour it," you say, smiling at the wry twist to his plush lips. "No offense."
“Wow.” Eddie throws up his calloused hands and huffs disbelievingly through his nose, but you know he’s not really offended. You pour as he scrapes down the leftover batter with the spatula per your instruction, and he opens the door to the oven for you so you can push the pan in carefully. As it snaps shut, the sound seems uncannily like the final punctuation at the end of something. Your clarity has been gained; all questions have been answered. The task has been completed. As you stare through the glass window to the baking pan beyond, the silence lingers between you, beckoning the question. What now?
You break it a bit lamely. "Thanks for helping with the cake," you say.
"Yeah, sure," Eddie replies, scratching the back of his loosely-tied curls. You wonder if this is it— if he'll leave now. You're chewing on your lip, eyes darting to him and away again as he does the same.
And then his stomach growls loudly.
"Shit," Eddie deadpans, and when you giggle, he husky a goofy chuckle back. As your humor subsides, it segues into a very clear choice. Eddie can leave and go on with his night, have dinner on his own.
Or…
As the offer occurs to you, you suddenly feel shy; self-consciousness squirms within at the thought of being rejected. Still, you glance at Eddie hopefully. "You wanna order some food?"
"Yeah." The word escapes in an immediate woosh, and Eddie’s crooked grin is unreasonably charming. "Honestly, I could eat that whole goddamn cake right now. Just, like, raw."
You hazard a guess. "You like Chinese?"
Eddie’s grin transforms to a slow, spreading smile, fond as it dimples his cheek. You flush under his gaze, but it's not uncomfortable. It's nice. "I love Chinese," he says quietly, and you wonder what has made this moment what it seems to be for him. Before you can wonder too long, Eddie breaks it. "Just none of that healthy shit.” He eyes you shrewdly as if suspicious. “I want all the MSG."
You snort, glancing up from your phone where you’ve started to Google the restaurants nearby. "You can have whatever you want, Ed," you throw over your shoulder. Your wings flutter pleasantly as he beams that goofy smile you’re so fond of, crinkling the corners of his eyes. What a dork, you think, and there’s nothing but affection in the roll of your eyes.
Eddie is, apparently, pickier about his Chinese food preferences than he initially let on. He adamantly insists on Chinese donuts, and the first three restaurants you find don’t have them. The timer for the cake ends up beeping before you’ve even placed your order, but you can’t be too exasperated. How could you resist that pout of his? Full lips pink and pooched, brown eyes so wide and warm and shiny as he tips his head and leans in, coming eye-level with you as his loose curls brush your shoulder. It’s downright criminal, is the thing.
Eddie beats you to the oven, pulling on Penny’s frilly oven mitts as you concede and call in your order. You’re only half-listening to the tinny voice on the other end of the phone, watching Eddie carry the hot pan over to the stove. He sets it down with caution before spinning to you with an air of triumph. You complete the order and head over, standing beside him to peer down at your cake. It smells wonderfully of rich chocolate that’s still succulently moist, wafting damp steam that kisses your cheeks. And as you both hover over it, heads close together, it hits you suddenly how domestic this feels— just you and Eddie, alone in the kitchen, admiring the fruits of your labor.
Your green quivers, yearning. Your wings flutter almost wildly, almost overwhelmingly so. You speak to distract yourself from the feeling welling up from the bottom of you.
"So, um... you wanna watch something? I have Netflix."
Eddie quirks a mischievous brow, and you flush, smacking his stomach with your arm. It makes him beam instantly. "D'you have HBO?" he asks, and your brow crinkles.
"No," you say, and you swear he lights up brighter than the sun.
"Oh," he chuckles out the word, eyes nearly crinkled shut with joy. "You're in for a treat."
You get him set up with the remote so he can log in to his account on Penny’s television and ask if he wants a drink. You fill glasses, placing them on the coffee table as the screen prompts Eddie to choose a profile: a big E for Eddie, a big C for Chrissy. You brace for the blow, for the sting, but it doesn’t come.
Eddie clicks into his profile, leaving Chrissy’s behind, and you don’t feel a thing.
Still, when you sit next to him on the couch, you leave a healthy gap between you, a few inches to avoid presumption. Eddie doesn’t close the gap, but he doesn’t seem bothered, either. His legs are spread comfortably as he navigates the menu, and his eyes don’t leave the screen as you ask, “So, what’s this treat called?”
“The Last of Us.” His broad hands dance with that familiar frenetic energy as he motions while he explains. “It’s based on a video game from 2013, but you don’t need to play the game to get it. Basically, the premise is that a fungus infects people and turns them into zombies. Well, not really zombies because they're not actually dead, just mind-controlled. But it’s close enough. It’s a post-apocalyptic setting; lots of nature overtaking the land, so the landscape shots are beautiful. And the reason for the outbreak isn’t as bogus as zombie shows usually are. It feels like it could actually happen, which I really like.”
You chuckle, tickled by his keenness, and Eddie flushes at the amusement in your expression, smiling bashfully.
Subtly, you nudge in closer, shrinking the inches minutely. You don’t need to feign enthusiasm. “It sounds good. Let's do it.”
Eddie seems pleased. “Cool.” He leans back before popping up straight again almost immediately. “Uh, just, fair warning, ‘cause I know you don’t like scary stuff. There are no real jumpscares in this, but some of it is kind of creepy.”
Despite the unease you would typically feel about that, you find yourself genuinely saying, “I think I’ll be okay. If it gets too creepy, I’ll let you know.”
Eddie’s free hand twitches in his lap like he wants to touch you, but he settles for a smile instead before pressing play.
Your food arrives a third of the way through the first episode. You'd been riveted and are now dismayed by the knock on the door despite the hunger gnawing at your stomach. You tap Eddie’s arm urgently, drawing his gaze. “Pause it!” You exclaim, clambering off the couch, intent on making the exchange as quickly as possible to return to the action. When the noise of chaos suddenly cuts as Eddie obliges you, it brings a sigh of relief.
Despite how engaging the show is, you find yourself looking at Eddie as he slurps his lo mein noodles, brown eyes wide. “Look, see how it throws itself around?” He talks through a mouthful, indicating the infected chasing Joel and his daughter. “That’s ‘cause when the fungus takes over a person’s brain, it isn’t trying to be careful with the body anymore.” He shakes his head in awe. “Fuckin’ metal.”
You suppose it’s kind of gross, the way he’s talking with his mouth full, but the expression on his face is so boyishly charming that you can’t bring yourself to care. Between Eddie’s eagerness and your shock and dismay at the episode’s ending, you're hooked instantly. "Can we watch the next one?” You ask eagerly, not missing the brief smug twitch of his mouth, the one that means, ‘knew you’d like it.’
"Sure," Eddie replies, sounding casual. But when he brushes your hair back from your shoulder, lips twisting as if he's trying to contain the depth of his happiness, you can see it leaking through his bright eyes.
As episode two eases into episode three and you begin to edge into binge-watching territory without complaint, you find yourself drifting closer to Eddie with tiny shifts of your body. First, your knees turn inward, then your shoulders tilt. Then you’re sinking back into the cushions on an angle, all the while seeking Eddie's light, half-subconscious and half-aware, though the aware part of you does nothing to stop it. And he's doing the same thing: spreading his legs, leaning back against the cushions, taking up space as he edges toward the center of the couch. Eddie inches ever closer until you finally feel his coveralls brush your hip and the heat of his armpit against your shoulder when he throws his arm around the back.
When Frank climbs out of the hole in the ground and is greeted with Bill’s shotgun, your knee bumps against Eddie's thigh, and you keep it there. When Bill takes over for Frank at the piano, Eddie shifts until his side is pressing lightly to yours. And as Bill and Frank fall into bed together, you look at Eddie and feel your moth wings flutter, that rushing giddiness, that nervous anticipation like this is a first date. Because, for you, there's just something about eating in and watching television cuddled up on the couch, just you and a special person.
There always has been.
As episode three progresses through the years of the characters' lives, you press even closer to Eddie, relaxing as you feel him lean into you in kind. You relish the novelty of what you feel: the peace of being alone, the shared experience of doing something mundane with him, the emotional journey this television show is taking you on together. You focus on the physical sensations, too: the rise and fall of his warm chest, the tickle of his curls against your temple when he tugs you in with an arm wrapped around your shoulder, and your head falls to the crook of his neck. You even relish his scent, spicy and smoky but acridly tangy like motor oil and body odor, reminding you of the sweat and labor of his day. But you don't care. In fact, you tuck your nose against the gray of his tank, inhaling slow and steady as you let your eyes slip closed for just a moment, breathing in as much smoke as you can bear. You feel relaxed— not quite at the edge of sleepiness, but so utterly, wonderfully content.
When Eddie pulls your legs onto his lap, the arm wrapped around you tightening around your shoulders, you lift your head and smile up at him. But the hesitant concern on his face is unexpected. Your sleepy contentment fades at his expression. "What is it, Ed?"
You reach tender fingertips to smooth the crease between his brow, and his face softens when you do. "This episode... it gets sad," he murmurs, brown eyes darting between yours to read your reaction. "Are you sure you wanna finish it right now? We can stop."
You glance at the men on your sister's television screen, how the sun shines behind them as they feast on red, succulent strawberries— the spoils of the months Frank spent tending the plants in secret. You look back at the man who has you wrapped up in his tender embrace, cradling you securely. "It's okay," you say, lips curving in a sweet smile. "I wanna finish it."
Eddie wasn't kidding.
Your breath stutters in your chest, chin trembling as you try to hold back your tears. You're tired of crying— you're cried out, really, from these last two days— but watching this might leave you no choice. Eddie's thumb rubs a soothing pattern along your arm, plush lips shushing against your temple as you crowd close to his side for comfort. You curl your knees up, almost in his lap as you clutch at his free hand. Sadness weighs in your chest, but you can't look away. The pain is just too bittersweet, and Eddie's closeness is just too precious.
The third episode is nearly over when the door creaks open, drawing your heavy eyes. Penny freezes in the doorway, and you see yourself suddenly through her eyes: the room dark save for the glow of the television, empty Chinese food containers scattered messily on her coffee table, and her baby sister tangled up with an unfamiliar man on the couch, eyes big and glossy.
You tense slightly, pinned by her wide-eyed stare, but you don’t move away from Eddie. "Hey," you greet her cautiously.
"Hey." Penny matches your inflection before her eyes flick over Eddie, a brow quirking as her eyes scan him— heavily inked arm thrown over your shoulders, your legs in his lap, his earrings glinting, his hair long and dishevelled. You’re at the edge of offense when she says, not quite critically, “Dirty coveralls on my couch?”
Immediately, Eddie jerks, jostling you as he moves your legs off him and makes to get up, stuttering an apology. “Shit, sorry—”
But Penny seems to be amused by his earnestness. “Nah, it's fine,” she says, and Eddie’s eyes dart between you and your sister as if he’s assessing whether to take her at her word. You roll your eyes toward her, not missing the smirk she tosses you before pulling off her coat and hanging it on the rack. You just know she’d taken pleasure from making Eddie jump.
You gently guide Eddie back to sitting, and almost reluctantly, he resettles. When you put your legs back in his lap, he holds them there with a warm palm, touch tentative now with an audience. You blush with pleasure as his thumb traces lightly, so lightly, over your calf. You distract yourself by calling to Penny, "How was the award ceremony?"
"It was good," she replies, closer than you thought she’d be as she passes by the back of the couch, heading toward her bedroom. Her tone is casual but edged with a sense of knowing implication that makes you want to squirm. You whip back around to face the television, noting that the episode has since finished. Eddie pauses it before the next one can start.
Penny’s arrival hasn’t quite put you on edge, but it has changed the atmosphere in the condo. You and Eddie are no longer alone, no longer quite as peaceful as before. And it seems Penny's arrival has shaken Eddie out of that place, too, because he says, “It's getting late.”
You glance at him to see his expression is largely neutral. You, on the other hand, can’t fully conceal your disappointment at the significance of his observation— that it’s time for him to go. You nod, hoping it doesn’t appear as reluctant as you feel.
Eddie is hesitant, quiet as he watches you, and you think maybe that neutral expression isn’t neutral at all. Maybe it’s just carefully guarding against his own disappointment. It could be just your hope talking, and you’re starting to think so, but then Eddie is leaning a little closer, and his lips are brushing your temple, and he’s murmuring, “Do you want me to go?”
A low flutter. A rush of green. Your throat is dry, and you swallow to wet it. “No,” you whisper back. “Do you want to go?”
You peek up at him, and light glows in honey brown. “No,” Eddie murmurs.
You take a slow breath. “Okay,” you say, somewhat louder, but voice still tiny. You bite your lip. “My bed is small,” you tell him. Negotiating. Mitigating expectations.
Eddie’s lips curl with a slight, fond smile. “That's okay.”
You feel your own smile spreading. You keep the exchange going. “You'll need to shower first.”
“So will you,” he counters, eyes alight with his tease. “I’m filthy, and you've been cuddling me all night.”
You feel heat rise, glowing in your cheeks. But it isn’t with embarrassment, and it isn’t with arousal either. “Yes, you are,” you say, sweet and tender. “And yes, I have.”
Eddie’s calloused fingers squeeze warm around your leg.
The bathroom is right across the hall from Penny’s office, which is now your bedroom. The heat of the water is steaming up the mirror, but you can’t see it because you’re already concealed behind the curtain, standing under the warm stream that beats against your back, wetting the ends of your hair. You’re listening to the drops hit the basin and bounce off your shower curtain, and you’re not doing anything else. Though you stepped under the spray several minutes ago, you haven’t touched your soap yet.
There are two doors that separate you from Eddie. He’s sitting on the floor in your bedroom, which you know because he’d clambered down cross-legged before you left the room. He’d chosen a spot on the hardwood, away from the area rug and the rumpled comforter of your twin bed. He’d told you he didn’t want to get any of your things dirty.
There are two doors that separate you from Eddie, but your green knows how close he is.
Now that you’ve had a taste of closeness, you feel his absence keenly. Your wings are fluttering, frantic to find him. The heated spray is prickling the backs of your arms, running down your legs, reminding you of your nakedness. Reminding you that you’re currently bare and the man you yearn for is just a dozen steps away.
You and Penny never lock the bathroom door at home; if it’s closed, you both know not to enter. Tonight is no different, making what you’re considering an actual possibility. But Penny is home now, and fearing what she might think is the source of your indecision. Still, your green is reaching, trembling, striving for Eddie, and your sister already saw you cuddling with him on the couch.
You just want to be close.
You decide that if Eddie can hear you through two doors and over the stream of the shower, great, and if not, so be it. You call his name.
“Eddie?”
A pause yields nothing but the steady thrum of water on the curtain, and then you try one final time, projecting your voice a little louder. “Eddie?”
After a long moment, you hear a creak on the carpet just outside the bathroom and then his hoarse smoke voice, a little tentative and muffled through wood. “Yeah?”
Nervousness surges, but you pluck up your courage, pushing through the pause. Your teeth scrape your bottom lip before you release it, but your voice still comes out softer and higher than you’d like. “...Do you wanna come in?”
Your heart is thumping in your chest, eyes darting as you concentrate on listening. There’s no reply, but you hear the door creak open and close again. Your heart thumps harder at the sound of rustling fabric, and you know it’s Eddie’s clothing dropping to the floor; the curtain shifts, and you step aside, making room in preparation for him. Wings flutter and flap, and green tendrils reach until you see that face— white framed with black, tinged now with pink— peek tentatively beyond the curtain.
Eddie’s eyes wander over your naked form only briefly before returning to your face. “Hi.”
Your mouth curls. “Hi,” you echo him, pinching the curtain back so he can step in. He does so quickly so as not to let the water out, and the curtain pulls from between your fingers when he tugs it back into place, but you don’t notice because you’re just looking at him.
The pale quartz of Eddie’s body is inches from yours where he stands under the spray, blocking it from reaching you. The water is already washing the grime away and soaking his hair, smoothing curls nearly straight. You follow the path of the water down the ink of his chest and arms to where it drips over ruddy knuckles and from calloused fingertips; you follow other trails down his soft stomach, over the plane of his hip, down the sparse hair on his legs and to his pink toes.
Eddie’s toes are a revelation. You’ve never noticed his toes before.
You look up again into honey brown and sway closer to touch the wet hair now flattened to his collarbone. Eddie reaches for you when you reach for him, and his calloused fingers brush your waist. And slowly, by degrees, you close the gap until Eddie’s warm front is pressed to yours.
Everything is pliant and slick, even the heat of his soft length where it presses between your bodies. Your arms wrap around his shoulders, and his wrap around your waist; you embrace each other in the water, in the haze of steam and humidity. You sigh against him when he tangles his fingers in your wet hair, and you turn your head to press the side of your face to his chest. Eddie’s heartbeat is steady under your ear, and his arms are firm around you; he’s so solid within your grasp, so wonderfully and unbelievably here.
You only pull back when water splashes you in the face; he smiles warmly when you blink and releases you to wipe it away.
"C'mere," you say then. "I'll wash you."
You take his arms, and he lets you switch your positions, so he's out of the spray. "Am I gonna smell like you?" He murmurs, not looking all that upset about it.
"Yup." You grin, reaching around him to indicate the shampoo bottle on the shelf. "Shampoo is here."
Eddie dispenses a pump while you squirt body wash into your hands; he lathers up his hair, giving you a chance to run your hands over his pecs and under his arms, washing out the hair there. You take more body wash and clean him gently, soft palms trailing over warm wet skin, washing away the grime and sweat as the dirt follows suds down the drain. You clean all of him— the ink on his arms, his pale sides, his hips, his groin, his legs. Even the backs of his knees, which you bend to reach.
This isn’t the first time you’ve touched Eddie. You’ve touched probably ninety percent of his body in the five months you’ve spent together in your arrangement. But this time, it isn't sexual; it's just intimate. You know it, and he knows it. In fact, when you draw closer to reach around and start on his back, and between you, you feel him semi-hard and hot against your belly, he even looks sheepish. "Sorry," he mutters, but you reassure him quickly.
"It's okay," you murmur, gazing up into his face. "Let me get your back."
You swap places so that he's under the stream facing away from you, and you gather the length of his hair, draping it over his shoulder. You wash the rest of him, running your hands reverently over the muscles of his shoulders, down the slope of his back to the dimples at the base of his spine, and then over his butt. His hips twitch at the tickle of your touch, and you both chuckle. “Okay,” you say, and he turns around to face you again, cupping your neck with a thankful hand.
“Your turn,” he says, and you pass him the body wash. He washes you carefully, calloused hands smoothing over your wet skin. Never lingering for too long; still not sexual, but not clinical, either. Sensual and tender, like he wants to take care of you. You sigh as you wash your hair, enjoying every touch as Eddie’s hands smooth over your shoulders and arms, your breasts and your soft stomach, the wideness of your hips, and the pliant fat of your thighs. He washes your legs, and you lean against him with a hand on his shoulder to lift your feet at his insistence. He nudges your arm so you’ll turn, and you oblige him, letting him wash your back with just as much care as you wash your face.
Finally, the water begins to run lukewarm, and you both rinse off and finish up quickly. You grab Eddie a towel from the nearby rack, passing it over before gathering one to wrap around your body. The shower curtain rings clatter against the bar as you open it and step out, eyes catching on the rumple of Eddie’s soiled clothing on the floor and the plaid red of his boxers peeking from the pile. You purse your lips as you realize he has nothing to change into.
You turn to see him toweling off his inked arms haphazardly. “So, uh—” Eddie glances at you from beneath the damp tangle of his long bangs, and the sight of those warm amber eyes makes you flutter. “I just realized you don’t have any clean clothes,” you say.
Eddie’s brows shoot up, and he nods slowly. “Right,” he says, mouth tightening to a wryly amused line. “Well, shit.”
You giggle at his baldness, and his grin spreads almost involuntarily as he sees your mirth. “I’ll see if Pen has any of Charlie’s you can borrow,” you offer, slipping out the door and closing it behind you, hiking your towel a little more securely around your body as you knock softly on your sister’s bedroom door.
It cracks enough for her to poke her head out, expression expectant. “Pen,” you say, coaxing like only siblings can be, “do you happen to have any of Charlie's clothes that Eddie can borrow? Like some shorts and a t-shirt, or some sweatpants?” After a second, you resist a blush and tack on, “...or some boxers?”
She quirks a brow. “Isn't this the guy you were hysterically crying over yesterday?”
You huff. “It's different now,” you grumble, and she just shakes her head fondly.
"Lemme look." She comes back with a white t-shirt breasted with the firehouse emblem and a pair of comfy sweatpants. “No boxers, sorry,” she tells you. You nod and hold up her offerings, noting that both will be far too big for Eddie’s lanky frame. He’s not a small guy; it’s just that Charlie is a big guy. Still, beggars can’t be choosers.
“Thanks,” you say, turning from the door.
Penny stops you before you can get too far, and you whip around at the salaciousness in her voice. “Wrap it before you tap it,” she says with a smirk.
You blush furiously. “Pen!” you hiss, “It's not— We’re just—” You huff, stumbling in your embarrassment. “We're just gonna sleep,” you finally get out.
“Uh-huh,” she says as if she doesn’t believe you, but her eyes are soft when she sing-songs, “Goodnight, y/n.”
“Night.” You grumble, bidding a hasty retreat back to the bathroom. You slip back through the door with your procurements to find Eddie with the towel now slung around his waist. You hold out your offering, and as he takes it from you, you realize you have another problem. Regretfully, you tell him, “I don't have a spare toothbrush.”
“It's okay,” Eddie assures you, dropping the bundle of clothing onto the counter. “I can use my finger.”
You squirm a little with self-consciousness, unsure whether he’ll find what you’re about to offer strange. “...You can borrow mine,” you finally say.
He looks at you, surprised. “You sure?”
“Yeah,” you say. “It’s fine. I don't care.”
And where you thought maybe Eddie wouldn’t want to use your toothbrush, you find instead that as you pass it to him, he looks at it for a moment, smiling softly. Subtle, as if he’s smiling to himself.
There's intimacy in this, too: watching Eddie use your toothbrush and rinse it off carefully before passing it back to you. You've had his dick in your mouth, and you've swallowed his cum, but somehow this— standing at the sink, brushing your teeth with the same brush he just used while Eddie drops the towel and pulls on Charlie's too-big clothes, toweling off his hair by ruffling it like one would dry off a dog— feels more intimate than anything you’ve done before.
You dart across the hallway in your towel, retrieving a pair of plain cotton underwear and a loose t-shirt from the folded pile of clothes in your closet. You hear Eddie enter behind you, but you don’t hesitate to remove your towel and hang it from the closet doorknob, pulling on your panties and shirt unhurriedly. You tie up your damp hair with a silk scrunchie, watching Eddie pile his soiled clothing into a bare corner of your room to be dealt with later. Together, wordlessly, you straighten your sheets and comforter, tidying your tiny bed in the warm, subtle lamplight of your bedroom. It casts shadows over Eddie’s face, deepening the sharpness of his jaw and the definition of his brow. When he glances up, noticing you watching him from the other side of the mattress, the amber of his eyes stirs your green and feels like home.
Finally, it’s time for bed.
You click out the lamp, and in the darkness, lit by cool moonbeams illuminating your headboard's contours, you and your light maneuver onto the tiny bed. There’s nothing quite like the slide of your fresh, clean limbs against the smooth sheets, the way it contrasts with the warmth of Eddie’s body, the way your damp hair kisses each others’ necks as you nuzzle together, shifting until you’re both comfortable. It takes a little while to find a position that satisfies you both, and with some humor, you say, “Told you it was cramped.”
You can’t really see him in the darkness, but you can hear when Eddie chuckles, and you can taste his minty breath when it puffs spicy against your lips. His voice is a rumble you feel more than hear. "You weren't kidding," he murmurs. "But I don't mind."
Eddie can’t see the way your face softens, but it does. "Me neither," you whisper.
You feel his arm shift, and your eyes flutter closed as you feel the tiniest brush against your forehead— a seeking fingertip. His touch is featherlight as he moves hair off your forehead and then drags that same hand back to lightly pinch the shell of your ear, dragging those calloused fingers down to the lobe. "Goodnight, sweet girl."
You seek him blindly too, searching with your face until your lips are skimming his cheek. Now oriented, you move your head down to press a soft, tender kiss to the corner of Eddie’s mouth. And when you feel him melt into the bed, muscles relaxing against you, your growth— that yearning, quivering green— finally settles into contentment. "Goodnight, Eddie."
When the morning light chases away the chill of twilight, you wake first. The first thing you notice, before you’ve even opened your eyes, is the uncomfortable dampness of your body. You're sweating with the heat trapped under the covers, your front overly warm where it's pressed along Eddie's, belly to collarbone. But you can't be bothered to move. You don't want to disturb him.
When you open your eyes, it’s to a wholly charming sight: Eddie’s nose is whistling slightly as he breathes, his mouth is half-open, and he's drooling on your pillow. Your soft expression transforms when you notice, lips twisting into a delighted grin. He's gonna be so embarrassed that he drooled all over my bed. After a moment of amusement, you move your arm carefully, dipping your hand beneath the hem of his shirt to draw your fingers slowly, so slowly up his back. You feel him sigh and nuzzle closer to you, a tiny sleepy grunt escaping from his lips as he closes them. Your affection for him rushes so strongly through you that you're left almost dizzy.
The room is lit with the pale light of early morning, and you stare at the freckle underneath Eddie’s eye, the long eyelashes dusting his cheek. He looks so peaceful, the laugh lines at the corners of his eyes softened by sleep. You nestle your face closer until you can feel each exhale from his nose tickle your upper lip, and you close your eyes, basking in his nearness.
You don’t know how long you lay that way, tangled with Eddie, unable to tell where he ends, and you begin. Your lips are so close they almost touch when he shifts his face just slightly, and then they do— a tiny whisper of plush lips on yours, the slightest brush that has your moths fluttering to life. It almost seems incidental until you feel the arm slung around your waist tighten, bringing you closer. And Eddie might almost think you're still asleep if it wasn't for the fingers trailing absent patterns along his back.
Now that you know he’s awake, you return his kiss, pressing your lips to his with your eyes still closed. And in the light of morning that shines pink against your eyelids, before the world has fully awakened, the only sound that exists is the tiny smack of the kiss you give Eddie and the woosh of his contented sigh, a sigh you breathe in like gentle smoke.
When you move your head back, blinking your eyes open again to look into Eddie's face, the sight that greets you is new but so wholly, wonderfully welcome.
Eddie's dark curls are splayed across your pillow, plush lips deep pink and puffy, eyes heavy with sleep but the color so deep and rich it nearly steals your breath.
Nine months ago, Eddie Munson was a stranger, sticking out like a dark mark in the pastel of the apartment you shared with your boyfriend Steve. He was foreign, unfamiliar; you didn't know him.
Now, he smiles, and you know his gentleness; you know the light in his brown eyes. He who teased out the growth, who caressed the leaves between his calloused fingers, who shone tenderly upon it until it blossomed from the center of you. You're bearing fruit, the words of your soul, and you use them to nourish you both.
When you break the silence, you don't exchange platitudes of good morning or question how he'd slept. Instead, you say, "I've never felt this way about anyone before."
Eddie’s eyes search yours quietly until he husks a quiet question. "Not even Steve?"
You don’t need to think about your answer. "No," you whisper. "Steve is a good man, but you see all of me in a way he never did."
You watch Eddie’s throat bob in a thick swallow. "I think..." he whispers, wide-eyed and tentative. Like it’s a revelation; like it’s never happened before. "I think you see all of me, too."
"I do." You brush the curls from his face, fingers like reverence incarnate. "I'm in love with you, Eddie."
And to see it— this man, who guards himself with ink and leather and chains— to see how you feed him with your words, how he swallows them up. To see how his expression becomes so vulnerable, pink on black and white; how he drops his armor and the gentleness of his eyes blooms over his whole face. You watch it, and you know it's something rare to behold. And then he speaks, plush lips spilling words that water your growth like rain.
"I love you, sweet girl. I love you."
You’re blooming. You’re thriving. You’re rushing with the force of your joy until it stings the corners of your eyes. Eddie touches your face, wiping away the happy rain that has fallen and kissed your cheek. "Does this mean you're mine?" He asks, hushed and quiet, as if he’s afraid to hope for the answer.
"Yes," you reply, fluttering toward the light that shines in beautiful brown eyes. "I'm yours, Eddie."
A deep breath, a pinch of your brow. More than you ever thought you could ask for, but you do. You do. "And are you mine?"
Eddie’s answer is immediate, husked like rich and heady smoke as he strokes your hair. "As long as you want me, sweetheart."
You want to say, Forever, Eddie.
So you do.
"Forever, Eddie. I'll want you forever."
Eddie kisses your lips, and the taste of his mouth is sweet, sweet like ripe red strawberries, sweet with the promise of a thousand more kisses just like it.
"Then you'll have me, y/n. You'll have me forever."

@stealingyourbones @gilbirda look at what you've made me do! Look at what you've inspired! :D
Infinite Realms Green Lantern Corps Phantom au.
Hal to Watchtower "I've arrived at the location the power ring was last picked up on the scanners I'm in a small city named Amity Park Illinois"
Hal located the building that his power ring is directing him to. A house with a sign that says Fenton Works In bright neon.
As Hal walks up to knock at the front door he sees a ufo-looking contraption on the roof Hal mutters "there's no way that thing is legal to have in a residential area".
A red-headed young woman in her early twenties answered the front door to Fenton Works. Hal's ring recognizes her as Jasmine Madeline Fenton the person the power had been looking for. Hal's ring also recognized that her young brother Daniel James Fenton is also home Madeline Walker Fenton and Jackson James Fenton are not present Hal's ring whispers to him. Good Hal thinks less people to deal with this should be an easy in and out mission.
"So you're Earth's new Green Lantern that the ring has chosen" Jazz looked at Green Lantern Hal Jordan who stood on the front porch of Fenton Works. Jazz had just arrived back home from Gotham after taking some mandatory vacation time from Arkham Asylum. Jazz looked at Hal in his civilian disguise that probably was just his everyday clothes. She mentioned that they should probably talk about this inside. Jazz invited Hal in.
"This is about the Green Lantern ring that came flying through the wall at me isn't it." Jazz said aloud. Hal nodded in yes motion as he moved to walk in.
"Are sure you also aren't here for Danny?" asked Jazz as she stepped aside as the Justice League member walked in through the front door. They headed over to the living room and sat down on the couch. "Why would I be here for your younger brother," Hal asked Jazz in confusion. "Oh, you didn't know Danny had been chosen by a Green Lantern ring back when he was 16" Jazz replied to the Lantern's question. Hal's ring discreetly tells him that there is no record of Danny James Fenton being a part of the Corps.
"Danny! get down here" Jazz yelled upstairs. A groggy sleepy 18-year-old Danny comes down the stairs and into the living room "Jazz you know I just got back from a long-ass patrol Vakta was being a hard ass again I barely got any sleep you know how she is when she's like that. Whoever said you can sleep when you are dead is a filthy liar". Danny stopped in front of the couch sleepily rubbing at his eyes. Hal noticed the Emerald Green ring on his right hand that his power ring was having trouble properly identifying without a more thorough scan according to his ring it was a power ring of some kind.
Danny finally noticed the other person in the room "Oh hey you must be Jason Jazzys boyfriend, Jazz keeps talking about you a lot whenever she calls home, from the way she likes to talk about you I thought you would be a lot younger". "Danny no this isn't Jason" a red-faced Jazz replied, this is Green Lantern Hal Jordan.
Danny cuts Jazz off to say irritatedly "the same Hal Jordan that belongs to the Justice League the same League that ignored our calls for help 4 years ago". "Danny! be nice," Jazz says "maybe now that the Justice League is finally here" Danny has more to say but is cut off by Hal stopping the argument the two siblings were about to have.
Hal jumps in saying that "I am here because your sister Jasmine was chosen by her Green Lantern ring to be Earth's next Green Lantern and you also apparently where chosen by a power ring".
Danny answers Hal "uh you're a little too late for me I've already been contacted by the Green Lantern Corps back when I was 16". Hal answers back by saying that there's no record of you or your power ring back on Oa. Danny replies to Hal " It was the Green Lantern Corps that patrols the Infinite Realms that got intouch with me, my sector is Infinite Realms sector 4348247".
Hal just stares at Danny in confusion. "Uhh hey kid you don't mind if I scan your power ring do you"? Hal asks. "Sure go ahead and scan my ring if that will make you believe me" Danny answers back sarcastically to Hal's question.
Hal chooses to ignore Danny's sarcasm the poor kid looks dead on his feet, and as he scans Danny's ring the results confirm that Danny has an authentic Green Lantern ring and is a member of a Corps called the Infinite Realms Green Lantern Corps. Hal asks for more information and the ring replies that it is unable to access classified information.
Suddenly Hal receives a message directly from the Guardians back on Oa that Green Lantern Hal Jordan Green Lantern Jasmine Madeline Fenton and IRGLC Daniel James Fenton Phantom are to report to Oa immediately. Danny just presses his head into his hands and groans out that it was supposed to be his day off.
So here's a little Snippet of a Danny Phantom Green Lantern Au that I wrote on my notes app on my phone.
Sorry about any spelling and grammar mistakes I wrote this with no sleep. Kek

You were still banned from training until further notice, at least that's what Glossaryck said to you as you almost set him on fire again.
You're still unfocused on a lot of things after what happened a few days ago, especially the announcement of Eclipsa's pregnancy.
You were currently having tea with your sister, you stared at her trying to figure out something and Eclipsa noticed this.
"okay n/n,you know is rude to stare..."she said and she drank her tea.
"I've been trying to figure out how'd you became pregnant?"
"i beg your pardon?!?"
"like how did you and Shastacan have a baby?"Eclipsa almost gagged at your question, just like you she didn't like Shastacan...
"that's not something to say in public dear n/n"she doesn't really want to talk about it...
"what's wrong with?all I'm saying how can you have a baby when you don't love him?and how can you be pregnant when i have never seen you kiss him before?"you asked more questions and Eclipsa realize something but she doesn't wanna assume.
"love?kiss? Please elaborate n/n..."
"how can you make a baby with someone you don't even show your and affection too?or wait maybe you kiss Shastacan in private?"just the thought of that makes your skin crawl.
"wait...n/n how do you think babies are made?"
"... they're made from two people inlove, right?"
"such as?"
"like how Mother and Father show affection by kissing?"
"oh my stars"with what you said Eclipsa confirmed that you know nothing...her innocent little sister.
"what?"you asked confused.
"it's more than Kissing n/n..."Eclipsa blush as she remembered something.
"what is it?"you innocent question made her blushed even more.
"Eclipse are you okay?!?"you asked genuinely concerned as she turned redder by the minute.
"yeah im fine... let's not talk about that n/n..."Eclipsa doesn't really wanna have the talk with you...
"let's not talk about that.... let's change the subject, how's your magic lessons been doing?"
"let's sayyyyyyy, it's been a disaster..."you slumped on the chair and your sister hummed.
"how come?" She placed her tea down and looked at you.
"i almost set Glossaryck on fire..."
"oh dear"
"he said I'm unfocused lately and i should be given a break..."
"hmm,i did noticed...you change lately...wanna talk about it?"She asked genuinely concerned, a few weeks ago you were really down about something, you don't come out of your unless you were going to eat.
She only got you out of your because she begged you to her for some tea time...
Eclipsa knows you,you were an adventurer. You like going to different dimensions but she doesn't tell you she knows. however she doesn't spy on you,she respects privacy, she only found out when you thought you were sneaky...
So what changed?
"is it about someone?"as Eclipsa asked ,you flinched.
Ah,so it's about someone....
"i don't wanna talk about it..."you didn't want to about it to Eclipsa, it's gonna be a secret until you die. You didn't know how Eclipsa will react if she finds out accidentally befriended one of the creatures your mother warned you about.
"if it's about love i can help-"you cut her off
"it's not about love and he just a friend"Eclipsa is now confused
"then why are you upset?"
"I just found out something about him that isn't good..."
"like what?"
"umm, it's nothing to worry about Eclipse..."you had to lie you didn't really want to reveal the real reason.
Eclipsa didn't buy it , she knows your lying. It can't be a valid reason for you be holed up in room for this, but she didn't push it. You'll tell her when your ready.
"so i heard there's gonna be a banquet for the little fella in there"it was your turn to change the subject, you pointed at Eclipsa's stomach.
"yeah Shastacan and The Magic High Commission thought it would be great to announce it to the public that the heir will arrive in a few months" Eclipsa explained and rubbed her still flat stomach.
"I can't believe I'm gonna be an aunt..."you said with a weak smile.
"yeah..."
"hey n/n ,i have an Idea what if we go somewhere else just you and me? Sister bonding time?"Eclipsa asked, she wanted to spend time with you before the preparation of the Banquet. Also maybe to make you happy.
You thought for a moment...
"tell me where you get your own supply of snookers and maybe we have a deal"
"come on pleaseeee"Eclipsa gave you the saddest eyes of all of Mewni, you can't say no but...
It's Eclipsa's request...
"deal"
"okay where are we heading?"you asked you smiling sister.
"oh i always wanted to go to the Earth Dimension!"
...great...
You were on guard to Protect your sister and your unborn niece or nephew, you didn't want them to get hurt . You also had earthly disguises to look more human and have Keekee on guard.
Especially when you found that some of them can go to the human realm.
"it's quite like Mewni, don't you think n/n?" Eclipsa pointed out and you hummed in response.
You two roam the whole village and bought some food....
You were getting deja vu...
"why do you have an obsession with every duck theme products?"you questioned Lucifer as he was carrying two bags filled with Duck themed merchandise.
"you don't understand happiness"he pouted
You smiled at the Memory...
No!
You shook your head , trying to remove him from your mind.
He's a Demon n/n...
"oooh!n/n look they have Lanterns for sale!"Eclipsa tugged your arm to the stall.
You were with Lucifer watching the Lanterns float away
What's is up with me?
You gradually bought two as for Eclipsa's request.
You tried to take take the Lanterns but Eclipsa insisted on carrying them , there's no point in arguing with when we made her mind."it's just like old times ?" She asked you with a huge smile.
You nodded and gave a weak smile, you miss just having you and your bond together. No guards no Shastacan...
You enjoyed the rest of the day Bonding with your sister. But eventually it's time to go back...
"it's time to go home, I wished we could've stayed a little longer"she pouted.
"yeah..."you were about to open a portal but you noticed something...
"where's Keekee?"you suddenly said in a panic and Eclipsa noticed....
"yeah...wait where is she ?"
"she wandered off again!that cat is gonna give me a he-" you were out off by some meowing.
"Keekee!"you suddenly went to noise, you saw her coming out for a bush.
"guess she went to go potty"Eclipsa shrugged.
You hugged you Feline companion"why do you always wandered off when we are in a different dimensions?"you whispered for only you and Keekee can hear.
Keekee just rubbed her head on you and you couldn't stay mad...
You, Eclipsa and Keekee walked in the portal and got home .
Oddly enough, Keekee has a familiar scent lingering in her fur?

Her new commute to work being cut down by ten minutes gives her plenty of time to sit on her new balcony and gear herself up for the day.
“Hey,” a voice calls, making her turn back towards the sliding door. A half-dressed Leon comes into view with a plate in his hand.
“Don't forget your breakfast.”
Sitting it on the table by her, he presses a kiss to her forehead. She smiles down at the french toast, bacon and eggs and then smiles up at him.
“Aw, you tried something new on me!”
He chuckles, leaning down to kiss her lips.
“Yeah, I had to! Couldn't have you thinking I only make waffles and pancakes for the woman that makes my toes curl.”
She giggles, crossing her legs under the table. He saw it, too, his low laughter falling in line with hers.
“Ah, what a man!”
“I know,” he nods enthusiastically, “you deserve waffles, French toast, cinnamon bagels with extra cream cheese, biscuits and gravy,..” he continued rattling things off in between wet kisses against her face.
“I'm holding you to the biscuits and gravy, cause that's one of my favorites.”
“Noted. Now try it and tell me how you like it.” He says, resting his hands on the chair as she cuts into the french toast, taking a bite.
“Delicious, like I definitely expected! Mm, so buttery!”
He smiles, actually patting himself on the back and making her laugh.
“So glad you like ‘em, sweet stuff. I gotta head out or ima be late, but I'll call you on my break, okay?”
“Okay. I gotta head out soon, myself.” She says, going back for another bite of her food, before standing up to hug Leon.
“We hangin’ out tonight?” He asks, wrapping his arms around her shoulders.
“I was thinkin’ we could all meet up at my job, after work. You round up your friends, I'll bring my sisters. Sounds cool?”
“Yeah, that sounds real cool,” he smiles, “look at you, gettin’ everybody together!”
She playfully rolls her eyes, “go to work, Leon Avery.”
“Aw, ‘kay, Zora-Jean. I'm out the door now.” He replies, placing plenty more kisses to her lips.
“Mmkay, I'll seriously see you later.” She laughs at their, still entwined, fingers.
“Okay, okay. I love you.” One more kiss.
“I love you, too.”

Sitting at work, looking pretty with nobody to bother her was the absolute best!
It had been almost a month since Cory was fired, and Zora got Linda to agree with her, that him being gone really did her business some good.
They'd had a full house, every night, like she'd been dreaming about, which is why she ran it by Leon to finally bring his friends by.
They'd finally been able to open up their entire floor for customers and use that dusty old jukebox in the far corner.
“Hell, we might be able to get some people in here to sing and things! You know how restaurants do events?? We could do that!”
“We could!” Zora smiles at her beaming boss. “I hope you're ready to host it up, tonight! Told Leon and his friends all about you!”
“Oh, I've been waiting for this! Friends of yours are friends of mine, you know that, dear!” Linda says to Zora.
“The hungrier, the better?” She asks, as they both fall out in laughter.
“Absolutely! I cannot wait to meet ‘em.”
As another busy day came to a close, she got a text from Leon, he was going home to change and wondered if she wanted to ride back with him.
She replied in agreement, mentally preparing for the hour she'd given herself, to pull herself together as she rushed home.
Thanking god for closet space again, she sifts through her dresses— unable to bare another pair of pants sticking to her— and lands on an orange and white sundress, immediately pulling it out and hopping in the shower.
While brushing her teeth and drying her body, she mulls over which sandals to pair with the dress, already hearing Nique telling her to go with black! Everything goes with black!
She's not wrong, but Nique would never hear that… again.
Pulling the outfit on, she stands in front of the mirror and squints, tilting her head to one side.
“No.”
She pulls everything off and puts it back in its place, rummaging around for a totally different look in mind.
Stepping back in front of the mirror, she's rocking a white graphic t-shirt, tied in the back to show off the little bit of belly she wasn't self conscious about, a black skirt that hit mid-thigh and hugged her very well and red sandal-heels, showcasing her pretty brown legs in ways that are gonna make a certain somebody salivate.
“That's more like it.”
Dousing herself in a sandalwood and vanilla cloud, she fluffs her hair and grabs her phone, snapping a few pictures before heading back down the hallway.
Answering the door a beat after he knocks, she smirks at the way his jaw drops at her appearance.
“Don't go droolin’ on my new floor,” she quips, before grabbing the single white rose from his hand, putting it up to her nose.
“I ain't sorry. You look so damn good, baby.” He compliments, making her blush and pull him in for a kiss, which turns into a couple more.
“Thank you, it took me a minute to pull it together.”
“Yeah, me too. How I'm lookin’?” He asks, stepping back from her and spinning around for her. His all green ensemble was very on brand.
She fondly shakes her head. “You always look so good, boy. I'll be stealing this shirt next.”
“Ima start hiding my clothes from you,” he laughs.
“Oh, please! Don't act like I leave you bare.”
“Just about!” He jokes. “But, you ready to go, sweet stuff?”
“Yeah, I gotta head across the hall and see if Nique is ready.” She nods, as they head out of her apartment and across the way, where she knocks on Nique’s door.
Answering by poking her head out, she makes the couple snicker at her wide-eyed expression. Her hair was still in rollers.
"Hey friends!"
“Why are you not ready, yet?” Zora asks.
“Because you cannot rush perfection, Zora-Jean. You look scrumptious, by the way!”
“That's what I told her.” Leon smiles, earning a high-five from Nique.
“I'm almost done,” she turns her focus back to her friend. “Come inside and relax a little.”
Letting them in, Leon makes himself comfy on her couch while Zora follows Nique into her room to help her with an outfit.
“Okay, so are these grown, hard working men?”
“Yes, girl. First time I've seen a group of ‘em, up close.”
“Ooh, are they fine?? Be honest.”
“Yes, Nique. You think I'd be dragging all three of y'all down there if they weren't?”
“Listen, I just have to clarify. I know Leon is pretty, but his friends coulda been mud ducks and I've already had my share of them.”
“Trust me, you'll be pleased.”
“Okay, alright. Is this a plunging neck situation? Or is that too much?”
“Hm, considering it being a first meeting, yeah, let's save that for next time.”
“Okay, okay. How about this top?” She asks, pulling out a tan, long-sleeved crop top. “It accentuates my tatas.” She cheeses, making Zora laugh.
“Yeah, friend! This is actually cute, and now you can wear those khaki pants that I bought you!”
“Ooh, they make my ass look fantastic, too!”
“Hey Leon!”, the two hear from the living room, making Zora look at Nique, who shrugs.
“You don't know your own sisters’ voices or something?”
“I didn't ask you who it was, did I?” She quips with a raised brow.
“Nope, but you look clueless. They wanted to meet us here. I think Neoma bought—”
“D’ussé!” She shouts, making them laugh and hurry to get Nique fully ready, before they step out of her room and join Neoma, Lovita and Leon in the kitchen.
“Hey, baby sisters!” Lovita greets, handing Zora and Nique a shot glass. “Y'all look good!”
“Thanks, y'all do too! Lord, we pre-gamin’?”
“I feel like I'm back in college.” Leon snorts, making them laugh.
“I know! What are you tryna do to us, girl?”
“Oh, come on! It's just one shot! Start the night off right, right?”
“Right, yeah,” Zora nods, as do the others.
“Alright, then! To a good night!” She raises her shot and they follow suit, repeating her cheer and clinking their glasses to one another's.
“To a good night!”

And a good night, it was.
After everyone got acquainted, Linda started them off with a round of cheesy potato bites, which Leon and Zora were super excited about.
“Don't be mad if these disappear while we're talking,” Darnell chuckles, plucking another one from the large plate.
“There's like sixty of them on the plate,” Neoma laughs, “if you inhale all of these, ima be concerned.”
“Right! You ate today, right?” Leon joins in on the taunting.
“Lay up off me, man. Yeah, I ate. And I'm gonna eat again.” He quips, making Nique and Neoma laugh, while Leon holds his hands up.
Lovita was too busy flirting with Clyde, and he was hanging on every word that left her glossed lips.
“Tell me your middle name ain't Alize,” he jokes, making her giggle a little too much for her liking.
“No, no. I love Lovita Alize Jenkins, though!”
“Who doesn't??” Zora says from across the table, catching her sister’s playful glare.
“She's right. Her and Cedric were my go-to. Too funny.”
“You remember they had those shirts with their faces on ‘em? I thought that was so cheesy and cute!”
“What? That's one of my favorite episodes!”
“Don't let them bother you. I love a man with an appetite.” Nique says to Darnell, grabbing another one of the bites for herself. He raises an eyebrow at her, to which she winks.
“Good to know,” he smirks, looking over at Craig, who's twirling one of Neoma’s twists around his finger.
“You are so pretty,” he says for the thousandth time, making her blush profusely.
“So are you,” she replies, feeling her insides burn as he flashes her a smile, those gold-capped canines peeking at her.
Everybody had matched off, making the head couple secretly high-five underneath the table and snicker to each other.
Tumblr media
Several appetizers and heavily poured drinks later, the couples sit along the bar and listen to the live band that Linda found.
It consists of three super sweet guys. The lead singer can blow down anybody's favorite singer, the drummer can beat down the best of drums in the most incredible ways and the guitarist definitely lets his talent speak for itself.
“They sound really good, don't they?” Linda asks the group, getting a gaggle of yes’s back.
“I'm glad you could finally expand, cause it's jumpin’ in here!” Nique comments.
“Me too! Get out there and have a dance for me, all of ya.” She nudges her, slyly pushing her against Darnell.
“Ima get Zora on you!” Nique jokes, before looking to her left, finding him already honed in on her.
“You know this song?” She asks.
“Nah, but we can learn it.” He says, holding his hand out for her to grab as they find a spot on the floor.
“Oop, looks like Nique got ‘em!” Leon points to the two, quickly getting swatted by Zora.
“That ain't take long,” Lovita giggles, her and Zora’s jaws dropping as Neoma pulls Craig away from the bar.
“Don't wait up, chicken!” She teases her older sister.
“C'mon, don't let her show you up like that.” Clyde says, placing his hand over hers.
Zora was cheesing so hard, Leon had to pull her away before she bursted and ruined their moment.
“You wanna dance with me, huh?”
“Badly.” He leans closer to her, giving her another opportunity to inhale the godly scent that was coming off him.
“Wow, you smell good.” She blurts, unable to help herself.
“I was just about to say that about you, beautiful.”
“Let's go dance, handsome.”
✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿ ... ✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿ ... ✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿
“Tonight was so fun!”
“Yeah, it really was. We made off like real matchmakers.” Leon says, making them both laugh.
“We are real matchmakers! All we did was introduce them to each other and bam! Three new relationships, just like that!” She exclaims, plopping down on her bed and kicking off her sandals.
“Those hurt my feet,” she frowns, getting ready to contort her leg all types of crazy, til she's stopped by him pulling it up to his level, massaging it for her.
“Did you forget I was standing here or sumn?” He asks, chuckling after, at her harmless glare.
“No, you lank. I didn't think to ask.”
“You ain't gotta ask, baby. Put them purty feet on me, I'll get the hint.”
She giggles as he leans down and presses kisses to her feet. Her skirt began to ride up, as she quickly pulled it back down.
“All that ass in that skirt was a mystery to begin with!” He cracks, getting a harmless kick to the stomach.
“Shut up, it lasted the whole night!”
“You right.”
“I know. Gimme my feet back,” she laughs, tryna pull her legs from his grasp.
“Why? I was havin’ fun!”
“Sit down, at least. You're making me dizzy.” She says, patting the spot beside her.
He took a seat on her, now, deep navy blue sheets and pulled her legs into his lap, going back to rubbing her feet.
“Them drinks made you dizzy, don't do me.”
“Don't do— never mind,” she starts laughing, covering her face. He squints and laughs at her, even though he's not sure what's so funny. Her laugh was too damn infectious.
“What?”
“Nothing,” she drags out, still laughing at herself.
“Zora,” he laughs, pulling her hand away from her face, “you gotta share it cause it's got you in stitches.”
“It's not even funny, that's what's so funny!” She gets out between giggles.
“You're so damn goofy, Jean.” He fondly comments.
“Aw, Avery!” She squeals, reaching up to pinch his cheek, making him laugh and swat her hand away.
“Pinchin’ my cheeks like my mama, girl. What's got you so giggly?” He asks again, leaning down to her level.
“I was gonna make a joke about doing you, but I couldn't get it out.” She softly laughs, trying to suppress it.
But the expression on his face made it come back to full giggles. Her back found her mess of pillows as she covered her face once again.
With another shake of his head, he watches his liquored-up girlfriend giggle her life away.
She was precious.
“Oh man, that's an ab workout for ya,” she says after she's calmed down, leaning up on her elbows to meet his gaze.
“You done, now?” He asks.
“Yeah,” she smiles, “I'm done, now.”
“Good. You know what I wanna do?”
“What?”
“You.”

Random Headcanons for the Scream (1996) Group
A/N Okay so I know I've been promising a bunch of fics and they will be coming...eventually. But right now I have major Scream brainrot so here are some of my headcanons for the characters
Warnings: swearing, mentions of sex, Billy & Stu being misogynistic, mentions of bullying, mentions of cheating, brief mention of alcohol, mention of murder/canon typical violence in Scream
Billy is the oldest and Randy is the youngest
More specifically the birth order goes Billy, Tatum, Sidney, Stu & then Randy
Billy & Tatum's birthdays are both in September and are two weeks apart
Sidney's birthday is in November
Stu's birthday is in late March because in my mind there is no way that man is not an Aries
Randy's birthday is only about a month after Stu's, but Stu uses any chance he gets to bring up the fact that Randy is the "baby" of the group to piss him off
For example:
Stu cuts off Randy during one of his rants about how the sinners are always punished in horror movies because, "What do you know about the sex rules in horror movies, anyways huh?! You're such a virgin, I bet you have wet dreams about Jamie Lee's breasts" Stu chuckles, blowing air in Randy's ear.
"Shut up!" Randy argues back, he feels a blush spread across his face and up to his ears.
"Aww look Billy, the baby's blushing. It is true!" Stu laughs louder.
"I'm not a baby! Your birthday is only 3 weeks before mine!" Randy pouts.
"Whatever you say, baby" Stu sticks his tongue out at Randy, devolving into a fit of laughter at his expense.
Randy has autism (I feel like this one isn't even up for debate)
Stu has ADHD and dyslexia
Tatum isn't a natural blonde:
Her real hair color is a shade of brown slightly lighter than Sidney's. She started dying her hair during junior year because she wanted to stand out more
Speaking of hair dying, Stu definitely bleached his hair sophomore year (think Tim Laflour from Senseless) just to piss off his parents
I wouldn't say Tatum is boy crazy but I think she definitely likes knowing that she can hold a man's attention
I feel like Stu and Tatum haven't been dating that long, having only gotten together about 6-8 months before the start of Scream
I also think Stu is Tatum's first real relationship
I feel like Sidney and Casey Becker would have been besties if they had gotten the chance to get closer
Tatum was always secretly a little insecure whenever Casey got brought up but if she had really gotten to know her they would've been friendly too.
I think Stu used to tell Tatum lies about Casey/ Casey & his relationship to make Tatum jealous on purpose
Literally if it wasn't for Stu then Sidney, Tatum and Casey would've been such an iconic girl group
I think in terms of distance Randy and Tatum live closest to each other, their houses are only a few blocks away from each other near the center of town
Billy also lives close to the center but heading the opposite direction from Tatum and Randy
Sidney's house is closet to Stu's with the two of them living on the outskirts of town in the more rural area.
Group hangouts & movie nights are usually at Stu's place because his house has the most space and his parents are rarely home
Occasionally Randy will host movie nights at his house but not as often as Stu because whenever the group hangs out at Randy's, Martha wants to be included
And while Randy loves his sister, they can't really watch slasher movies and drink beer with a kid hanging around
I think before Maureen was murdered the gang would hang out at Sidney's house a lot too
But after she died, Sidney found it hard to have company over because it reminded her of all the memories she had of her mom, like her baking cookies for Sid & her friends, or all the times she had begged her mom to let Tatum sleep over on a school night, and now it was too painful to try and create new happy memories in the house since she was gone
Billy always preferred hanging out at Stu's as he was finding it harder and harder to be at the Prescott's house
Each time he walked through the door he could feel his blood boiling thinking about what was going on between Sidney's mother and his father & how much of a slut Maureen was
Okay so I've found myself struggling to figure out how Randy ended up in that friend group
Because for me I think Sidney and Tatum have been best friends for forever, having been friends since the 1st grade
Stu and Billy have also been friends a long time, meeting each other in the 3rd grade when Billy's family moved to Woodsboro and the two instantly clicked.
But Randy... he feels like a bit of an outsider compared to the other boys and I doubt him and Tatum would have been friends first if it wasn't for the fact they already had mutual friends
I think Sidney was the one to introduce Randy to the group:
Like it's the 7th grade and Sidney and Tatum are a school dance (I'm imagining something like the Snow Ball from Stranger Things) and this group of popular guys come running up to them snickering being like "Our friend has a crush on you! This guy wants to ask you out... we're totally like his best friends." And Sidney can tell something is up
She sees the group of boys gesturing to this geeky looking kid sitting by himself all awkward on the bleachers and instantly knows that he's the butt of some practical joke.
"He wants to make out with you! He told me himself!" The leader of the group laughs pointing at Sidney.
"Leave us alone you creeps!" Tatum yells back, pulling her and Sidney away from the boys before they take off laughing.
And then Sidney is just standing there looking at this poor kid alone on the bleachers and before she can stop herself, she's walking over to him
Tatum is just watching her like girl wtf are you doing?!
Sidney sits down beside him and introduces herself
Needless to say Randy is shocked, like why is this cute girl talking to him of all people!?
"Hey I'm sorry those guys are such jerks! Would you like to dance with my friend and me?" Sidney asks pointing to Tatum
And then it's literally love at first sight for Randy.
Randy spends the rest of the night dancing and talking with the girls and Sidney starts to realize maybe this kid isn't all that weird and annoying after all
After the dance, Sidney and Randy start saying hi to each other in the halls or occasionally eating lunch together until it grows into a fully formed friendship
Also just because Tatum wasn't super open to Randy in the beginning doesn't mean that they're not besties now
Because they are!
I see Tatum and Randy being big time gossip buddies
Like Randy is obviously really nerdy so I see him as being the type of guy other people don't really pay attention to
Which means the more popular students will be gossiping right in front of him like he's not even there and Randy's holding on to every single word
Like one time he was sitting in the library only pretending to type up his English essay because the two girls next to him were whispering about how Christina from his biology class had not only gotten knocked up over summer break but how her boyfriend might not be the father because "Casey like totally saw her sneaking upstairs with this scary-looking guy at Steve Orth's 4th of July party"
And Randy is sitting there feeling like his head is going to explode if he doesn't immediately run and share this news with Tatum so the two can swap theories on who the mystery guy is
Stu likes to gossip too but Tatum is selective with what she tells him because he's a blabbermouth and will spread the stories all over school
I feel like the friendship as we see it in the opening of Scream didn't happen right away
Like usually it was just Billy & Stu hanging out and then Sidney & Tatum, or Randy and the girls hanging out separately
It was until freshman year that the 5 of them all started hanging out as one big group as Billy and Sidney got closer
Randy didn't want to admit it to the girls but I think he was happy at first to have some guy friends around
Although tbh Billy and Stu are more like his frenemies at best with how much they like to abuse and tease him
I like to headcanon that Randy was raised by a single mom, with his dad walking on the family when Randy was 8, leaving his mom to take care of him and Martha by herself
Because of this I think Randy can struggle a bit with his masculinity sometimes
I think before the murders he used to look to Billy and Stu as sort of guides on how to be "manly"
But as he got older, like during junior/early senior year, he started to see just how much of misogynistic jerks the two were
I think Randy is closer to Stu than Billy
Like during the rare moments where Stu isn't making fun of him they actually have similar interests in terms of movies and will chat about that
I don't think Randy ever really liked Billy as he always saw him as a sort of competition for Sidney's affection
But I feel like he tried to make an effort to get along with Billy until the start of their junior year:
Billy's mom had left him and his dad under mysterious circumstances a week before the start of the new school year & Billy had been acting a little more off than usual
Randy feeling empathetic towards him and remembering what it was like when his dad left tried to start a conversation with Billy about it:
"Hey, Billy I know we've never been as close as you and Stu but if you want to talk about y'know... your mom" Randy trailed off, glancing at Billy over the door to his locker, Billy's face unreadable. "Look I remember when my dad left I-"
Before Randy could finish his sentence, Billy grabbed him by the shirt collar, shoving him harshly into the wall of lockers.
"Listen shithead! Your father ran off with his cum dump slut of a secretary," Billy sneered his face inches from Randy's, a look of anger in his eyes that Randy had never seen before. "Don't try and fucking act like you understand any of this."
Billy let go slamming him back into the lockers and storming off, leaving Randy scared and speechless.
Billy gave Randy a half assed apology later that day during lunch, saying all the stress at home was getting to him and urged Randy to keep the whole situation between the two of them
Randy agreed but never truly forgave Billy and lost all trust in him after that
Lastly, this might be controversial but I feel like the queer relationship between Stu and Billy was one sided
Like Stu definitely had a crush on Billy
And Billy liked Stu because he was "different" and "understood him", but his feelings towards Stu weren't as strong as Stu's were for him
I kinda feel like Billy used Stu's crush to manipulate him a bit
Like Stu definitely went along with the murders of his own accord because he's sick and twisted and thought they were fun
But I think Billy sold him on this lie of how the pair would be the two sole survivors and they would go on to create a sequel
While Billy cared for Stu, he wouldn't hesitate to kill him if it meant he could get away with his plan as revenge was always what was most important to him
And one thing about Stu is that guy has a big mouth
He could barely go one day without not so subtly bragging about how he and Billy murdered Casey and Steve
I doubt Billy expected him to be able to keep the whole events of the Woodsboro murders a secret for very long
Which is why I think Billy cut him a little too deeply in the kitchen scene on purpose
Stu was just his muscle and lap dog to help him carry out his big plan
Billy always saw himself as the lone "final girl" in his revenge plot so Stu bleeding out from his wounds wouldn't have been that big of an issue to him

Enemies to lovers AND only one bed? Babe, you're speaking my favorite language here. Tell me more.
well hello there, snitchy snitch!!
Okay, picture this. Sapphic enemies to lovers. Wedding trope. Our MCs are the sister of the groom and sister of the bride. They have disliked each other from the moment they met, back when their siblings first started dating. One is "Miss Priss," the other is "Surly Girlie." Our story takes place at the bachelorette party, a weekend away at the beach. Both our MCs arrive late (so they are grumpy AF already) to find they have to share the only room left. and there's only one bed.
NOW. IS THIS NOT THE PERFECT PANSMIONE. Harry and Draco are getting married. Hermione and Pansy never mended things after the war; they still despise (read: are obsessed with) one another. Now, they've had to work together (ew) to plan this stupid joint bachelor trip for the whole crew. To top it all off, Pansy's portkey got cancelled last minute, and Hermione got caught up in a work emergency at the ministry (at least what I was doing was important, parkinson; sorry if I don't feel bad your fancy first-class portkey got bumped). They spend the first night in their shared bedroom bitching each other out and sleeping as far away from each other as they can get, rolled over to each side and huffing in exasperation.
Honestly this works great for any HP ship pairing. Jily having to work together to plan Wolfstar's bachelor trip. Wolfstar exes-to-lovers planning Jily or Jegulus' trip. Drarry planning Ginsy's. You get the idea.
Below the cut for more stream-of-consciousness fic, incl NSFW art from @upthehillart :D
@hpsaffics you're getting a tag here too :)))
After much description of hot girls in bathing suits (hermione's ass) (pansy's legs) and both of them just absolutely losing their minds over each others' bodies, with lots of sniping back and forth to cover up how embarrassingly into each other they are, they end up last ones at the muggle bar the second night, too tipsy to try apparating. Fuck it, granger, dance with me. Oh boy, do they DANCE. It's so fucking hot, they can't get enough of each other, the feel of their bodies close, their flesh beneath each others' hands, that LOOK in pansy's eyes that says I'm going to eat you alive and you're going to say thank you. But just before something drastic happens, like hermione putting her lips to pansy's neck like she's been wanting to for honestly a very long time, longer than she cares to admit, Harry bursts onto the dancefloor "there you are!!! we've been looking everywhere for you get in the uber right now!"
The spell is broken, and, faces beet red, they let harry drag them back to the air bnb. they take turns showering, being sure to change into pj's in the bathroom (Pansy in a giant band tee shirt and booty shorts, Hermione in a lace pink matching set). Hermione is tying her hair up in a specially-charmed silk scarf and going over some notes from work that got delivered by owl while they were out, and pansy thinks she's the loveliest thing she's ever seen. Pansy's caught staring. "what?" "nothing, granger." there's a pause, like maybe they each want to say more, but instead, pansy just turns out her light with her wand. "night, granger," she whispers.
There in the dark, they both lay on their backs, listening to each other breathe. they end up having a tension-filled, intense exchange where they are truly vulnerable with each other for the first time. apologies are given and accepted in the softest whispers. tentatively, pansy reaches out a hand beneath the covers, drags the back of her fingers gently over the soft skin of hermione's arm. "i really am. sorry. i never meant any of it. you." deep breath. "you're the most incredible girl I've ever met. I've always thought so."
and then--
Hermione moves with that intense decisiveness of hers. She rolls over, straddles pansy, grips her face and kisses her long and deep. Pansy opens her mouth to her instantly, and a stupid little moan escapes and it's the most pathetic sound she's ever made but she will make it again and again if it's hermione who pulls it from her. "Want you," Hermione whispers into pansy's neck, finally latching on and sucking, biting, coaxing blooming bruises of violet and and blue to her pale skin. She shoves her hands up underneath pansy's tee shirt, not an ounce of hesitation, grips her tits hard. kneads them, dances fingers over her nipples, seeing which touches elicit the most gasps from the beauty beneath her. pansy is arching and writhing with pleasure, and hermione grins into her mouth, wicked and brutal. The witch who kept a woman in a jar for months for slandering her friends, the witch who destroyed horcruxes and single-handedly kept two boys alive for the better part of seven years, the 20-something witch ruthlessly bulldozing over all the old white bureaucratic wizards at the ministry, is now the witch taking pansy apart inch by inch and fuck if pansy isn't thrilled to be broken by those powerful hands, sucked dry by plush lips, devoured by sharp teeth glinting in the moonlight as they sink into her skin over and over.
But Pansy has a few tricks up her own sleeve. She grips hermione with strong thighs and rolls them over, "Can I take off your scarf?" she breathes it her ear. "wanna pull your hair while i suck on your tits." Hermione whimpers and pulls her scarf off and pansy gathers those fucking curls into her fist and pulls, careful of course not to damage the curl pattern. Pansy licks a long stripe up her now-bared neck and over her ear, then whispers, "pull your top down. let me see." Hermione obeys, of course she obeys, pansy is commanding and relentless and if pansy wants to look hermione will let her. she fingers a strap of her camisole down off one shoulder, skims her fingertips over the top of her breast, just over the nipple still hidden beneath the fabric. Pansy's mouth is dry and her cunt throbs as she anticipates finally getting a glimpse of her nipple, already hard and poking through the silk and lace. "all the way," pansy murmurs. "take it out. show it to me." hermione whines and squirms and finally digs her hand all the way in and pulls out her breast, so fucking full and delicious with large brown nipples that beg to be kissed, so of course pansy does. Pansy looses her patience and pulls the camisole all the way down, exposing both breasts to her gaze and her wandering hands. she dives in, laving attention all across hermione's warm skin, nipping and licking and sucking and groping. her hips have started grinding down against hermione's pelvis, and hermione is arching up to meet her. "wanna make you come," pansy growls between hermione's tits. "how do you like it?" hermione stills, and pansy looks up. "um," hermione bites her lip. pansy kisses it out from behind her teeth. "yes, baby? what do you want? let me give it to you." Hermione take a deep breath. "i thought i was going to have my own room. i may have brought a few... toys." "oh, like what?" Hermione rolls over, digs around her her bag by the bed, and shyly pulls out an ENTIRE FUCKING STRAP. The magic kind that connects sensations from the strap to the wearer's clit. "I was hoping i might get lucky, going out and everything this weekend." Pansy's speechless. "Would you, um, let me fuck you with it?" hermione asks, big brown eyes wide and hopeful.
Cut to, pansy on all fours, legs kicked wide, ass up, facing the mirror by the bed, watching hermione completely naked and fucking her with her cock, her curves bouncing and slapping with every thrust, the sounds wet and loud and crude, mixing with Pansy's gasps over and over and over. Pansy's tee is shoved up by hermione's demanding hand; she's gripping the skin of her shoulder, her other fist burying in Pansy's hip and pulling her back onto her dick even as she fucks into her, hard and deep and fast. Hermione is strong and her grip bruises and Pansy couldn't move if she wanted to. "M close," Hermione murmurs. "yes, yes, yes," pansy chants in reply, all other words fucked right out of her brain. "touch yourself for me, baby, wanna watch you come first." but when pansy collapses down to one shoulder so she can use her other hand to rub her clit, she gasps in shock. Hermione has wordlessly and wandlessly charmed her fingers to vibrate. pansy shouts when her charmed fingers makes contact with her aching clit, swollen and needy from what feels like a lifetime of getting handled by hermione fucking granger. just a few passes through her folds and over her clit has Pansy shaking and coming with a muffled scream, Hermione following right behind her, the force of her orgasm plunging her cock even harder into pansy's pulsing cunt. it kicks off a second orgasm for pansy, back to back, and she screams and screams until hermione finally pulls out and gather pansy into her arms, shushing her and smoothing her hair.
They clean each other up take turns in the bathroom, and fall asleep in each other's arms.
maybe this wedding won't be so bad after all.
ps: below is my headcanon depiction of pansmione from a fic i cannot recommend enough . Art and fic both by @upthehillart
watch out the girls are naked and hot

Being in love with Dean was like playing a game that you already knew you were going to lose. Not only was he significantly older than you, but he was also a longtime friend, and roommate. Being on the road with your feelings was easy, because you would have easily been able to separate yourself from him if you needed too, but now, you were trapped, like a rabid animal in a cage. At least you have Sam there. Yeah, Sam.
When Dean was in his early thirties, watching him flirt with other women was like a punch to the gut, constantly showing up the hotel room all three of you shared after a night out, his neck decorated in hickies as you tried to keep yourself together. He'd tell you about his late night endeavors as you tried to keep up with the conversation. You were glad that his midnight endeavors had dwindled down to one to none. It was still hard, because even though you didn't have any competitors, you couldn't ever be with him.
Usually, you were able to tolerate Dean talking about his sex life, but maybe you slept on the wrong side of the bed, or hadn't slept at all because he had been out all night, your brain practically drowning at the thought of him having sex with someone else.
"She was crazy man." Dean began with a smile on his face. You breathed in, projecting all of your sleep deprived agitation into stirring sugar into your coffee. "She did this thing with her tongue—" He was cut off by you slamming your mug onto the sheet metal island. "Who pissed in your Cheerios?" Dean piped up from behind you. Unable to bite your tongue you regrettably said, "Has it ever occurred to you that maybe I don't care about who you've fucked?" Both Sam & Dean fell silent at your snapping, embarrassment swirling in your gut as you felt their eyes on you.
You left the kitchen, storming into your room and sitting on the side of your bed. If he didn't know you liked him, he sure as shit knew you did now, or maybe had some grasp on the fact that you may or may not feel something for him that was more than friendly. You were mentally kicking yourself, your door cracking open, the creaking alerting you of someone's presence.
"What the hell was that back there?" Dean, of course it was Dean, why wouldn't it be Dean? "I'm sorry.. I just— I haven't slept, I don't know." He let out a sigh, sitting right next to you as your heart leaped into your throat. "I think me and you both know that it wasn't because you were tired. I've been talking about this for years, and it's a problem all of a sudden?" Anger began to burrow itself deep inside of you. "What do you want me to say Dean? Maybe that I'm in love with you? That you probably don't want me because I'm like a sister to you?" You couldn't look at him, your brain silently wishing that he would just go away.
"Who said I see you like a sister?" You looked at him through your peripheral vision, hoping you didn't hear him incorrectly. "What?" His arm settled around your waist. "You heard me. Who said?" You gulped nervously. "Me?" He let out a laugh. "That's now very reliable. No offense." You cracked a grin. "None taken." Your breaths fell in to the silent air of your room. "So you love me?" You nodded, a bit hesitant. "Is that a problem?" Your voice shook. He pulled you closer to him, his lips grazing yours.
"Not at all."

broken | c.s (final) preview
series m.list
pairing: choi san x reader
word count: 1.4k
dear y/n,
i am finally writing this letter. i’ve sat down many times attempting to do so, sometimes barely able to get through the first line and sometimes i’ll read the first paragraph i wrote only to throw it away, completely unsatisfied. but it’s been four years–at least at the time that i’m writing this–that i’ve last seen you. four years since we saw each other and we probably won’t for a very long time, if ever.
it would be a miracle for me if i was to ever cross paths with you even just one more time, but it would be a tragedy for you because i’d like to think fate wouldn’t be so cruel to put you through that. so i write this letter with the thought that you would most likely never see it, but i did promise myself that if fate really is that cruel and we were to cross paths again, i would give it to you. it’s a bit selfish of me, but it’s because i know the chance of ever seeing you again is close to none. but it’s also everything i’ve ever wanted to tell you; say to you. i want to apologize sincerely, even though it’s a little too late. in a way, this letter is also an outlet for me and my thoughts.
it’s been about a year since i’ve graduated and around this time of the year, i always get a little sentimental. could be because i’m so far away from home so it’s only natural, but i know it’s because it’s summer and i tend to associate the season with you. we did a lot together and you opened some parts of me i couldn’t say or admit at the time.
you would always used to tell me to just try whenever i didn’t see the worth in doing something and i honestly just dismissed it because it sounded silly and quite cliche. i thought it was ironic coming from someone so shy and timid who always looked at the world with so much fear in her eyes. now, i’m starting to understand the amount of courage it must've taken you to even go out of your comfort zone. i realized, i was so much of a coward in comparison despite thinking i was the hottest shit at the time.
i always ran, but you never did. i was so scared of anything new and unfamiliar but you always faced them even when there's a likely chance of failure. i treated you like shit and you still wanted to love me. i think about it often... why are you this way? but i won't ever know because i never put in the efforts to get to know you beyond what you could offer me. you always asked about me but i never did the same in return.
if i could redo everything, i would want to hear your story. i would love to read anything you write. i said i would, but i never did.
i'm in the states, i'm sure somewhat and somehow you probably already know that (or you probably don't because you don't care anymore, which is fair). i left right before the start of the second semester during sophomore year. it was a big decision for sure, but i needed the change. things were already getting stale and repetitive, and you know me... i am not one to stick in one place for too long. i will always run, and so i ran to the states to live with my sister.
other than the fact i was born there and half of my family resides there, at that point, there was nothing left for me in korea. i didn't have much to lose if i were to fly across an ocean and start anew.
wooyoung had already cut contact with me by then and any friends close to genuine i've ever had were all from associations with him. soon after, i realized anyone i still talked to were all phonies who i only hung around during parties and stupid rendezvous, with the exception of jongho. he got into yonsei, by the way. if you didn't see him pestering you on campus, you probably already picked that up. he sent me a message a few months ago to come back and attend his graduation but i told him to fuck off because he didn't attend mine either. good for him, though. he's a smart kid.
but yeah. wooyoung's a good person even if he grew up privileged. it's what makes him such a people magnet. he was the most genuine friend i've ever had and the one who stuck by me for the longest. i really took him for granted and it only hit me when i lost him.
you are fortunate to have someone like mingi and yunho who seems very protective. i was a little scared when wooyoung warned me about mingi because he threatened to knock me out if he ever sees me. he's much taller than me, so i don't doubt it.
i know i sound miserable so far, but i am actually doing pretty okay... unfortunately. you probably don't want to hear that and wish i was suffering, but i've suffered for maybe two and a half years before i finally felt somewhat content and okay, if that will make you feel any better.
the states is different and the people are as well. i've got to experience a lot of new things for a change.
when i transferred, i still didn't know what to do. the clock was ticking and there was only so little time before i had to pick a field. i ended up going into dance performance, and of course i thought of you. when i found a passion for it again, i thought of you. and when i graduated last year with a fine arts degree, i thought of you... all because i knew you would be the happiest to hear about it.
whenever anyone asked me why i don't want to come back home, i would always tell them what i told you: because there's nothing left there for me. but one of the biggest reasons why i didn't want to come back was because it reminded me of you too much. that, coupled with other factors, just makes it so much harder for me to want to return. it feels like reopening old emotional wounds that i have no one else to blame for but myself.
but my junior year, i met someone named yeonjun because we shared the same major. i get nostalgic sometimes because he often reminded me of wooyoung. speaking of wooyoung again, i sent him a similar letter but in email form a while ago, though not as long, and he said he was happy to hear from me again. i wasn't sure if he was going to reply at all because it was an old email and i assumed he probably wanted nothing to do with me and that was official. but he replied pretty fast and said if i ever returned to korea, he doesn't mind catching up. he went into business and said it's something he actually really enjoys.
yeonjun is cool though, and like a less annoying version of wooyoung. he was also a transfer but had been here longer than i have. he met his girlfriend online who's living in south korea and so after he graduated, he went back right away and said he was going to attempt to open his own studio. just about a month ago, he called me and said it's almost done and he would be recruiting. he wants me to come back and help him and i've been giving it some consideration because i'm not doing much here back at the states either.
i was hesitant at first, of course. all for the reasons i've already stated, but all i ever do i run and even i'm growing tired of it. no matter how many bad memories the place holds, it is still home and my motherland after all.
anyways, i apologize for rambling. the letter is getting way too long, but my point is, i might've started liking you at one point. not in the casual way that our relationship was, but actually really like you. i don't know. now that i'm older, it's true that the love you've given me was something i was not ready for at that time and age. and now, it's everything i wish i have. funny how time really does change a person.
i hope you are doing good for yourself, and i'm so sorry if you ever get the chance to read this letter.

Tears are spilling from Scaramouche's eyes as he looks at your tired e/c eyes that look up at him with nothing but love for him as your lips part slightly.
"...I love you Kuni."
You say and with that, your eyes close. Taking your last breath as Scaramouche sat there, staring as tears continued to fall, "....Y/n?"
He calls out, shaking you gently, "no.... don't—don't do this to me too. Please.... don't leave me!" He grits his teeth, pulling out the gnosis and pressing it into your chest just as you did before but your body no longer accepts it.
After several attempts, he throws the item to the side, cradling your body in his arms as he sobs, burying in face in your neck as your head hangs back. His body shakes as his cries grow louder.
"...i—i love you too." He knew his words meant nothing if you couldn't hear them, you always showered him with affection like a real sister for decades and the one time he finally returned it, it was too late.
"And cut. You two did well, I don't think we need to redo this scene."
A voice is heard as Scaramouche looks up as his face is still wet with tears and you open your eyes, wincing at the bright light above you two.
"Get cleaned up and have a break." Scaramouche helps you up, as you give him a smile.
"Good job." You tell him as he nods, still in character as you two walk off the set and immediately your friend come over to you two.
"You two did so well! Everyone was tearing up." Nahida says and some of your co-workers nod at her words.
"I'll see you two later." Scaramouche raises a hand at you two before working off, wiping his face and you and Nahida walk back to where the rest of your friends are.
"I think this is my favorite scene." You smile at this, "that's what you said during the fight scene between me and Tomo."
She giggles, "this one tops it, that scene is my second favorite."
You sigh at this, remembering how the filming for that was a bit difficult but it's done.
"You did a great job back there." Aether says as you two arrive in the break room where everyone else who was a part of this season.
"Thanks, me and Scara practiced to nail it in one go. To think we'll be done with this season but you still have like 5 more to go." You laugh as Aether sighs.
"yeah. Oh, did you get your script for the interlude?" Shaking your head, "no, I remember Hoyoverse saying that they would give us a break for a week or so. I'll probably get it soon though but I doubt I'll get any more scenes, they killed off my character."
The blonde shrugs his shoulders, handing you a cup of coffee, "you never know. Maybe they'll keep you around because of your great acting skills and maybe because of the whole romance with your character and Tomo's too, I have a feeling like it's not quite done."
Nahida sits down, going over her script as you and Aether continue talking.
"Oh! Speaking of Tomo, I promised him and Kazuha that the three of us would watch this part of the season when it aired."
The director didn't call you and scaramouche to redo the scene so you were free till the next filming.
A month later, you were recovering from an incident during filming, nothing too serious but it hurt like hell and your phone rings so you stand up to answer it, careful not to hurt your wrist.
"Hello?"
"Y/n! Hello, are you still up to watch the new episode tonight?" It was Kazuha, you smile at this, you two have been in many films together and are very close friends.
"Tonight? What day is it....." You look at your calendar and your eyes widen, "oh my god, I forgot about today, I've been so busy but yes I'm still down. Is Tomo coming as well?"
Tomo, another one of your friends and you two met through Kazuha, who also happened to be acting as your character's love interest in Genshin Impact.
"Yeah, he'll be arriving earlier than me at your place."
And just like Kazuha said, the blonde did ring your door bell two hours later and you let him. Making sure he was comfortable on the couch, you prepared some drinks, placing the tray on the small coffee table and handing him a drink. Your eyes take a good look at the blonde, noticing that he still hasn't cut his long hair since it was still in it's ponytail.
"You didn't cut it," you finally say.
"Well, you said you liked it long." He says before taking a sip, "plus, I think I'll still be acting for Hoyoverse and I have a feeling you will too." He smiles at you and you could feel the heat grow on your face at this, turning away from him as you walk out the living room.
"Oh really?"
He hums, "keeping you for a couple more episodes would give them more benefits.....so can you tell what happens?"
Rolling your eyes, you scoff, "be patient, I'm sure it'll be a ride for you."
He sits up in surprise, "wait! Don't tell me they killed you off?!"
"pfft—" you cover your laugh at this, "no—they would never!" You say sarcastically, not wanting to spoil it for him and so two hours later, Kazuha walked in to find you two in a heated conversation about your characters.
"No but like, we still need to film the festival they first met at! They can't just leave it like that between them!" Tomo says as you chuckle before taking a sip of your water, "we'll be letting the shippers down."
Chuckles at this, you say, "with you as their leader, I'm sure you'll all manage just fine." Tomo gives you an unimpressed look.
"Well, it's not our decision plus I think they'll be alright. I mean, have you read some of the fanfiction they write? Sometimes I think it's better than the official story and that says a lot." You point as Kazuha stands at the doorway, seems like neither of you noticed him quite yet.
"Yeah that's good and all but—"
"But if our characters keep going, Hoyoverse was bound to—"
"No! Listen! Remember their other series, the one you were a part of a couple years back, Honkai Impact—"
You laugh at this, remembering the role you played, "doesn't mean they're gonna let our characters live happily ever after, Tomo, remember that they're on the opposite side. A Harbinger and a wandering samurai who's an orphan."
He sighs in frustration, "still, I hope they give them the happy ending they deserve at least."
Shrugging your shoulders at this, you look away from the man in front of you and look to the side, "how long have you been standing?"
Tomo spits out his drink, looking at him, "dude, stop creeping around like that!"
Kazuha laughs at this, "you two sure do act like a married couple, talking about your favorite characters."
You roll your eyes at this, "everyone says that about us, lots of traffic?"
Kazuha hums, "yes and looks like I arrived on time." You and Tomo look at the time in sync, seeing that there was a few minutes for the episode to air.
The three of you go to the living room, getting comfortable on the couch and turning on the TV. Making sure none of your schedules were packed for the next day, it was like a tradition to sit and binge watch all the new episodes on the day one comes out.
"They better not leave us on a cliffhanger again." Tomo comments as you play the episode released today, Kazuha leans back as you put your knees up to your chest, face snuggling into a pillow and Tomo stares at the screen in anticipation.
The episode starts off where the last had ended, your hand brushes against Kazuha, making you glance at him and he looks at you.
He sees you shake your head slightly and he gets what you're hinting at so he glances over to the blonde whose eyes are glued to the screen.
"He'll be alright." He whispers, giving you a smile as you look at him a bit worried, brows furrow. "I gave it my best for my last scene....I just hope he won't be too disappointed." You whisper back, he reaches up to push a strand of hair behind your ear before gently flickering your forehead.
"You did great."
"We haven't even gotten to that scene —"
"But you're acting so well," he gestures to the screen as you look at it, watching as you appear from thin air in front of Nahida, catching the dendro archon by surprise.
"No way she managed to rip out the gnosis from the archon!? Signora style too!" Tomo yells, you and Kazuha brink at this before letting out a quiet laugh.
"Yeah, he'll be alright." You smile at Kazuha and you two go back to watching.
Let's say the night ended with Tomo being in shock, staring at the screen as the credits played out with vocal singing in Latin, one heard in the fight, now more clearly meant to represent your character's emotions.
"...I'll get the guests room ready." You say, going up the stairs, leaving the two men by themselves. The next morning, you were making breakfast when Kazuha woke up, saying he wanted to help.
Tomo slept in a little late and only woke up from hearing your laughter from downstairs and going down to go see what was making you laugh that hard, he freezes up at the sight of Kazuha and you close together in front of the stove, backs turned to him.
He watches a little while before retreating back to his room, sighing, it was no secret that he was head over heels for you, every single one your friends knew and it was completely obvious too.
He had met you on set, he was new to the crew when he first saw you in person, talking with a smile to the guy that plays Scaramouche, the way you two interact he would have mistaken you as a couple. But he had heard that Scaramouche was like a brother to you, known each other since childhood but Kazuha....he had heard so much from him. Highschool friends to be exact.
He wouldn't be surprised if the white haired male had feelings for you, hell, anyone would and he wouldn't see a chance to be with you since you were constantly surrounded by amazing, better people than him.
Standing in the middle of the room, gripping his fists, he was nothing but a guy who got lucky enough to get a big role while you were someone with experience, talent and big celebrities chasing after you.
why would you bat an eye at his feelings?
A knock at the door snaps him out of his thoughts, "Tomo, are you up? Breakfast is ready." Your voice is muffled as he sighs before answering.
"Oh, I'm starving!" He exclaims, opening the door as you look up at him, staring at him for a moment before looking away.
"We should hurry or Kazuha is going to eat everything." You say, joking, walking away before Tomo grabs a hold of your hand, making you turn around, confused.
"Tomo? What's wrong?"
He stares, hesitating before letting you go. "No, it's nothing. Sorry."
You two stand there before Kazuha's voice calls out, making you two go downstairs.
" Actress Y/n L/n who plays an important character in Season 3 of the hit series 'Genshin Impact' is confirmed to be dating Actor Kaedehara Kazuha who also is a part of the same series. The two have been seen together on a date, holding hands at a famous cafe— "
Tomo's heart drops at this, dropping his phone and it makes a loud noise that makes a few people give him weird looks. Picking it up, he checks the pictures taken and can't believe it.
It was you two in the picture, it didn't seem to be photoshopped and—
"What are you looking at?" He jumps at the sounds of your voice beside him, his phone slipping from his hands as you catch it, raising a brow at the news.
"...." You don't say anything, simply staring at the screen before calling out to Kazuha. "Hey Kazu."
"Yes?"
His head pops out from a corner, munching on a cookie, "when did we start dating?" Kazuha takes a bite of his food before shrugging his shoulders.
"I dunno, you tell me."
Waving at him to come over, he does, and you show him, he doesn't look fazed.
"This again?" He asks as you sigh, "I'm afraid so." You two look at Tomo who was quiet this whole time.
".....did you fall for this?" He shakes his head.
Kazuha begins to explain everything, the context of the photo, saying it was taken when you and him snuck out to get something to eat during break. "Look, we're in our costumes and the reason why Kazuha was holding my hand was because the heels I wore were too hard to walk in properly."
Tomo mentally sighs at this, relieved, "also we're the main leads for this romance series so there's that." He freezes up as you hand him back his phone.
Neither of you notice prying eyes watching from a distance.
The day goes on, a couple retakes on scenes here and there when it was time for lunch, you and your friends decide to eat together inside so you quickly went to your trailer to get your food.
The heels you wore made a sound with each step you took, "excuse me," an eerie voice came from behind you, making you tense up and glance back to see a man who you didn't recognize.
"are you lost? I can bring security to accompany you to the exit." You stopped walking, not wanting to show this man where your trailer was in case he tried to come back later.
"No...no, I'm not lost. In fact, I already found what I'm looking for." He says in a creepy way, his face was red with sweat the longer he stared at you.
"What do you—?!" Your eyes widened as he grabbed a hold of your wrist, pulling you towards him as you struggled against his hold.
"Let go of me!" You shout, but his grip on your wrist that was still recovering from an acting incident, tightens as you wince and he sees this as an opportunity to wrap his other arm around your waist.
"You're finally mine—"
Tomo looks at the time, it's been a few minutes since you left to get your lunch and Kazuha seems to notice this too. Standing up, he and Tomo begin to head to find you at your trailer but to their surprise, an unfamiliar man had you in his grasp as you struggled against him. Quickly running over, Kazuha calls for security, you continue to push the man off as he leans in to try to kiss you.
"Let me go!?" You raise your knee and hit him where the sun doesn't sun as his grip on your falters and Tomo quickly pulls you behind him, he could feel your hands grip his shirt with fear.
"You bitch!" The man says, glaring up at him. "You'll pay!"
Tomo glares at him, "you have to get through me first."
Kazuha rushes over with a couple security guards, "and before you can get to him, you need to get through security." He says as the buff, talk men pick up the creep who kept trying to tell you things.
"None of you understand! Me and her are destined together! We're going to get married and have children—"
You pull back tomo who is trying so hard not to punch this guy who was creeping you out.
"None of you will get in the way of our true love!"
The security guards roll their eyes at this as you see Tomo turn to you and you give him a confused look before he leans in, pressing his lips to yours.
"What the hell!? Let go of my precious Y/n! We're supposed to be together —"
Your face is red as Tomo pulls away, "together my ass, we've been dating for a long time so she's mine." He flips him off as the man gets dragged off, still saying things.
The blonde sighs, as Kazuha goes to your side, looking around for any injuries and he notices that your hands are shaking slightly.
Being harassed was nothing to you but someone getting that close to you as new, he's been there to see and luckily to protect you but to think someone sneaked in to look especially for you was terrifying.
"Thank you," you finally say, "if you hadn't.....I couldn't imagine what that man would've done." Tomo frowns, placing a hand in your back.
"You did all the work, hitting him in the balls." He smiles when a smile cracks in your face at this. Your face heats up as he wraps his arm around your shoulder as he leads you inside while Kazuha goes to talk with security.
"...sorry for not asking." You glance up to see how red his cheeks were before looking down, flustered as he was.
"...it's not like we haven't kissed before...on set." You mumble, "..I kinda liked it." Stuttering in your words, you refuse to look up at Tomo, afraid of his reaction.
He coughs, "...me too, every single one." If your face couldn't heat up even more at his confession, it did.
Nahida looks up from her book to see you two walk in, speechless to see you two holding hands with flustered faces but smiles to herself.
It was about time you two figured out your feelings.

Tomo: So whose idea was it to show that scene to parallel Ei and Makoto's?
You: well....you see—

Note
prompt: Camila + Shannon + Piano
The music begins hesitantly, a few notes turning to quiet scales. On the mats, Shannon leans forward over her knee, sinks into the stretch until the tension in her glute releases all at once. She holds the pose a moment longer before switching legs.
The piano bench scrapes across the stone floor, followed closely by a rustle of fabric, a thud, a soft exhalation. Shannon presses deeply into her stretch, trying her best to see around the pillar that blocks her view of the piano.
Shannon slumps onto her back, starfished across the mat, but this position doesn't afford her any better a view, just flashes of navy. She knows it must be a member of the newest recruit class, though. It's been almost three years since they'd last had a pianist among their ranks.
The thought pinches between her shoulder blades and she smacks a hand flat against the mat in protest. The twinges have grown more common of late, unsurprising given the tension she can't help but carry in her shoulders. No amount of stretching is enough to fully free her of aches, not when the weight of the Halo is their cause just as often as not. Not when the unease is almost all in her head.
Shannon flops onto her side, stretches her arm out to make an attempt at grabbing her hoodie. She's an inch short of the fabric, though, and has to squirm on the mat until her fingertips just manage to hook the edge of the hood. She reels it in towards her and rolls back up to a seated position, tugging the hoodie on before popping up to her feet. Her back cracks ominously at the rapidity of the motion, and she has to twist from side to side before it feels quite like it's fully supporting her again.
Her soft shoes render her footsteps all but silent, so she makes a show of yawning loudly as she crosses towards the piano. The pianist stiffens, her hands going still on the keys, and then glances back over her shoulder.
Shannon smiles softly as she closes the remainder of the distance to the piano. "Camila, right?" she asks, settling herself on the piano bench at the girl's side.
Camila nods, matches the smile with one of her own. "That's me."
"I'm Shannon," she replies, and she watches amused as Camila seems to bury an urge to respond with something along the lines of "Clearly". "Don't stop on my account," she adds, knocking her elbow against Camila's arm.
"I hadn't seen anyone else use it, so I wasn't sure if I was allowed–" Camila starts.
Shannon cuts her off with a laugh. "Oh, you're very much allowed. We just haven't had anyone to play for us in a while."
"Is that why it's so out of tune?" Camila's nose crinkles in barely concealed distaste.
"It is?" Camila nods emphatically. The smile that pulls at the corners of Shannon's mouth feels unfamiliar. "Straight-shooter Cam telling it like it really is, hey?" Camila's cheeks darken slightly, and Shannon nudges her again. "I admire that. I'll ask Mother Superion to see if we can get it tuned up for you."
"You don't have to–"
"Oh, this is purely selfish. I can't pester you for concerts if your instrument's not up to snuff, can I?"
"I guess not."
"See, purely selfish intent. We're all in the mood for a melody around here, and you'll have us feelin' alright."
A chuckle bursts out of Camila, seeming to surprise her, and then just as quickly her face falls. "Billy Joel is my mom's favourite," she admits, and there's a heavy weight to the words. But her face shifts again, rapid fire, a cheerful mask slipping back into place. "I learned to play Piano Man sitting on her knee."
They'll tackle that conversation later then, Shannon decides, mentally adding yet another sister to the parental baggage list. "And you? What's your favourite?"
Camila glances back over her shoulder before leaning in conspiratorially. "I really like covering Frank Ocean," she admits, catching the tip of her tongue between her teeth when she grins.
"I don't think I've heard of him."
"No? Let's rectify that!" Camila shoos Shannon down to the very edge of the piano bench and settles her hands on the keys. "This one's called Pink + White."
And she begins to play.
