The centre of every poem is this: I have loved you. I have had to deal with that.

“And you laugh. Loudly—head tipping back. And while your eyes are on the ceiling, I am mouthing something too heavy even for this steady night to shoulder. ‘This is not a joke.’ I mouth. ‘Love me. Love me.’”

Call me by a man’s name instead of a woman’s, and suddenly every horrific thing I’ve done makes me a hero.

it is late and we find
a diner and you’re tired
and i’m tired but we
wake each other up the
way we are always waking
each other up.
it is past midnight and the coffee
is cold but your eyes are warm
and it is the perfect time for
us to say the slurry things we
cannot say in the afternoons.
things like ‘of course i’ll marry you,
but only when i’m thirty
and have nothing else going for me.’
you think i am joking
but you agree.
and you laugh.
loudly–
head tipping back.
and while your eyes
are on the ceiling,
i am mouthing
something too heavy even
for this steady night to shoulder.
'this is not a joke.’ i mouth.
‘love me. love me.’
a small truth:
you move me more in a moment than
the earth moves in a year.
a small lie:
of course i love you today.
there is nothing small about the hells i have worn for you.

Could I request a web about falling out with a toxic friend? And feeling more anger than anything - someone who treats everyone badly and will end up alone from their behaviour
i hope you're doing well <33
