“i’m kidding, i trust you baby” you smiled at him

and he does deserve that trust because you heard from his manager that he’s been wiping his lips every time a kissing scene ends and says “i’m so sorry y/n” three times after that☹️

Ok! My thoughts on 7x05!

First, i just wanna say that the whole Hen and Karen storyline is awesome! I love that the show is giving queer people so much screen time, especially a Black lesbian couple! And i think its super sweet that they really want to try for Mara! I hope it works out!

Next, i think that has been my favorite cold open so far. The “ITS MEEE” gets me every time (i have already watched it loads of times). I dont have much to comment on it other than it was funny as fuck

Ok. The date scene. I was hoping to see more of Eddie watching them (especially after the stills), but oh well. The second-hand embarrassment i got was… a lot. But i dont think its necessarily a bad thing. It showed how out of his comfort zone Buck was and how he was trying to navigate a terrifying situation. And Tommy? I might have to retract my earlier retraction. Cos wtf?? Literally had just finished talking about how its hard to accept yourself in a “macho” field, then makes a dig at Buck when he fumbles? Not cool. Then not communicating what was happening until he was getting in the Uber? You dont just abandon someone at a restaurant like that. I understand the “you’re not ready” thing, but that was a dick move.

Also, Buck, baby. Sweetheart. Darling. “I look at hot guys’ asses.” Sweetie. Like Maddie said. You are more than an ally lmao. I also just love how Maddie showed interest in getting to know who Buck was talking about and treating the convo after like a normal convo. Because it is! And i love it! But she also emphasized talking to Eddie, because she knew that Eddie would not react poorly. I feel like that just shows how everyone knows how close Buck and Eddie are. TLDR, Maddie is an awesome sister and Buck is lucky to have her ❤️

Next point, the scene where Buck and Tommy talk over coffee. I do think that the hand holding at the end is very sweet and shows how Buck is really trying to be more open, but Tommy is just really starting to rub me the wrong way. Pretty much everything he said contradicts what happened in the date scene. I feel like him being at the wedding is really gonna spark some Jealous Eddie, tho, so i am excited to see that lmao

And Eddie and Marisol? I feel like the show is going in a direction that leads them to breaking up. Like yes, it is showing growth for Eddie and allowed him to acknowledge that he has Catholic guilt, but theres just. No chemistry. It feels awkward. I feel like her being an ex-nun is gonna bring up some issues with Buck and Eddie will not stand for that. I also wanted to point out that i got even more vibes that Eddie could be demisexual, cos he didnt straight up say that he loved Shannon, just that he loved being married to her. And he knows that he is moving too fast and needs to step back a bit

Finally, Buck coming out to Eddie. I do find it funny that Eddie seemed more shocked that Tommy wasnt straight than figuring out Buck isnt straight. But its awesome that Eddie showed interest and genuinely wanted to help Buck through the issue. And the hug? Finally! Give me men not being afraid to hug each other! I feel like this is allowing Buck and Eddie to become even closer (i do hope for Buddie eventually)

Overall, i feel like this episode was great for setting up the development of Buck and Eddie’s relationship (whether it ends up being platonic or romantic). And i am all for Buck exploring his sexuality with someone that isnt Eddie. While Tommy isnt my favorite right now, i do think that he is great for the progression of Buck’s story. I do hope to see more of Dad!Bobby in the coming episodes and how Buck’s parents might react to Tommy. I dont wanna wait three weeks for the next episode 😢. Im ready for the chaos of the Madney wedding

"every major baddie problem in the lmk universe is caused by SWK not dealing with his shit properly"

exept he dealt with all the shit and i'm tired of people ignoring it to paint him as an ignorant, uncaring bastard.

(very very minor s4 spoilers, so the cut)

Demon Bull King? Got his ass whooped and was sealed away for however long years it took for an entire ass megapolis to be built literally on top of him, causing absolutely no trouble to anyone whatsoever. Oh, and what sealed DBK? The staff. And if you'd care to know SWK outside of the LEGOverse, you'd realize how strong was SWK's resolve to seal DBK - keep him relatively safe, one might say - by using his trusty staff. The guy would literally die seven times over than let go of this thing.

Also people like, ignore the fact that canonically SWK stuck around the area (for the most part to stalk MK, but still), so he was literally there to deal with the DBK family if something went southwards? He didn't, because MK was able to hold the staff and the legend of the Monkie Kid then began.

(also zero antagonistic feelings towards DBK from SWK, like, whatsoever. i bet the dude actually wanted DBK to be free, cuz he felt bad abt it)

Macaque? In a morally gray manner, still very dealt with. SWK killed the dude. He was literally as dealt with as it can be. Or what, should SWK have predicted that after thousand upon thousand of years later a spirit (he dealt with too) would pull Mac out of Diyu? Yeah, I'd like to see that thought process.

SWK isn't omnipotent, he isn't even that far-thinking. Never was, actually. So holding that against him is like, very stupid. Especially because you don't do it to any other character in the show.

Spider Queen? Wouldja look at that, also pretty much dealt with. We don't really know how exactly, but we know that she lost literally every ounce of power she had and had to resort to living in the sewers, prolly never to cause troubles ever again because, well, we never even heard of her until the special. SQ was pulled onto the scene by the Lady Bone Demon.

Which is, again, something SWK couldn't predict even if he tried.

And now into the fun part.

Lady Bone Demon? Was sealed away by Tripitaka and also didn't cause any trouble until DBK decided to use this freaky coffin he knew literally zero things about for his plans.

"But he should've killed LBD!!!"

He tried. Believe him he tried. This decision just wasn't his, and if you hold it against him and not Tripitaka, shame on you.

"He should have told the crew about LBD!"

He really couldn't have.

And people thinking that are blatantly ignoring SWK's character. Not that obnoxious fan favorite uncaring bastard one.

SWK deals with things on his own. That is just how he is, how he always was and he never learned to do it the other way around. If that's a fight, he'll do it, because he's damn strong. If it's to scout the mountain, he'll do it, because Bajie is a lazy ass motherfucker. If it's to find food for Trip, he'll do it, cuz he's fast and his eyes are awesome.

Same applies here.

LBD? Tried to kill her and Trip didn't let me -> Basically I didn't do the job right -> WTF I always do my job right, I am Sun Wukong hello???

It was, dare I say, a question to his pride, and SWK will forever be prideful. And when he acts on his pride, he does it with style and flare, in the most stupid way possible.

Hence all of the s2 off-screen investigation arc.

"Well, he should've told about the Samadhi rings!"

It would've endangered Mei, questioned his at this point in time very shaky authority and ability to handle shit, and prolly would've fucked Mei up a very whole lot.

You don't go and say to a person that they are a part of the most dangerous seal in the world and could die and destroy everything they love because you fucked up long time ago (again, very much jabbing at his mentality of 'Sun Wukong can do no bad job, and if he does he'll better fucking die trying to make it right').

Was his plan a shitty one? Obviously. Like, no question asked, it was a shit show of a plan. Very in character, though (SWK handles all the shit because he thinks he can).

And this little character arc of SWK not learning a damn thing results in him, oh golly you would not believe it, running off to do things on his own because he thinks he can handle it, because he's THE Sun Wukong who already handled this in the past.

Who woulda thought.

MINOR S4 SPOILERS START HERE

And the new addition to the baddie group, Azure Lion. Won't be addressing all 'SWK is a betraying bitch' because the show refuses to give us SWK's perspective and I hate it.

But you already know what I will say, because you know the truth. He was dealt with. Got his ass whooped and sealed away in the inky scroll. To be pulled back onto the scene by a third party that Wukong literally couldn't have known about.

See a pattern?

SWK deals with the shit, some unknown variable meddles in it, suddenly SWK is an incapable asshole who left the problems for the poor lmk crew to deal with.

Wukong did his job. Someone fucked him over by undoing his job. He tried to deal with it again the only way he knows how, but the solo play doesn't fly anymore, so he made it kinda worse.

He's not an unbearable, incapable asshole because of it.

And I'm tired of people not seeing this.

I have rewatched the mean lesbians episode in hopes I would like them more the second time, but I'm afraid I'm still not vibing with it. Credit that they tried to undercut the "lesbians who drop in to give our main couple therapy" with the whole reveal it was game and Mary's little rant about their relationship "losing the magic", but like... did they really? Do Anne and Mary not successfully tee up the really touching BlackBonnet airing of grievances and reconciliation? Laughing at them a bit for being dorky doesn't change that they really didn't do much sabotaging, overall, so it's not like they weren't pushing them back together.

I mean, even Mary's whole rant happens after Anne leaves the room. By the time they really start telling us how this couple has their own foundation cracks and issues (vs the veneer of just keeping it interesting) and aren't a longstanding example of a healthy relationship, Anne is literally offscreen making a grand romantic gesture that will solve Mary's discontent. I know they are fitting a miscommunication arc into half an episode instead of 2-3 seasons, but the end result just feels like speedrunning a knock off of BlackBonnet's issues.

And that along with the fact they function as BlackBonnet mirrors first and characters second, it all just feels very... underwhelming (?) to me.

Like why do I care about Anne and Mary? Is the face stealing gimmick supposed to have hooked me? They also, imo, really fucked up by ending on a hug - it just spotlights the fact that, for all the sex jokes, they don't really bother to sell physical intimacy between the two. They maybe bump shoulders at the shop, sit in separate chairs in every scene in the house... honestly the best they do is the offscreen knife flicking. Which funny metaphor but like. Why can't the lesbians be into each other without the metaphor? Or am I supposed to think that Anne "burn the whole house down the second her wife admits she doesn't like swamp life" Bonny didn't pick up that Mary was maybe unhappy when they entirely stopped touching each other and replaced it with murder attempts.

Even a repeat of the offscreen joke but this time imply they are hardcore making out as Stede and Edward slip away would have probably hit better? (I'm assuming for some reason kissing was off the table, otherwise even more wtf why not just kiss?)

(Can you tell I've been thinking about the sorry state of femslash?)

Also I'd be remiss not to tie my dissatisfaction with Anne and Mary to my dissatisfaction with OFMD's prevailing approach to female characters. Spanish Jackie's entire thing is being so awesome and desirable that she has 20 husbands that all work for her, which is super fun. Mary Bonnet became a widowed girlboss with a Doug, which was also fun. Then suddenly we're meeting Zheng Yi Sao who is a girlboss Pirate Queen better than any man, and her right-hand woman that seems like a more stable and competent Edward/Izzy parallel, and her crew of only hyper-competent women... do you see how this is getting a bit repetitive?

Now we add Anne and Mary speedrunning BlackBonnet parallels to teach them a grand gesture romantic lesson? So... doing Stede and Edward but Better™?

Zheng Yi Sao still has time to get more interiority that could offset the whole "girlboss" gimmick which would help, but until that happens the only real female character standout to me is Archie - a woman who has something deeply wrong with her but has so far just kind of slotted in as a equal crewmember instead of the Competent Woman Character.

Decline (2023) is a pretty cool little thing

So, I just stumbled upon this short Cdrama today and ended up watching it in one go. It was actually much better than I expected!

Basically, smart and free-spirited Su Cheng Xi (in white) crosses path with no-nonsense Sui Han Bai (in black) while investigating a strange disappearance of a theatrical troupe, and the fun starts from here.

Hidden identities, the mysteries of the past, treasure maps, murders and bromance - literally, what more could you possibly want??

It's a 20 episodes drama, 10 minute each. Viki combined it into 7 longer ones, which is much better to digest, at least for me.

The first thing that I noticed was - unexpectedly really good cinematography! I am generally quite lenient towards the technical side of shows, but I still have eyes, and those eyes were pleasantly surprised today. The chase scene at the very beginning was beautifully shot. Do you see the colors? Chef's kiss!

Second great thing is characters.

Su Cheng Xi - a wandering detective, mischievous and seemingly carefree, but also very sharp and with the hidden agenda:

Sui Han Bai - an uptight and serious constable of Dayong City, follow-the-rules kinda guy... Or so it seems. But more on that later. For now - behold the visage:

When those two meet for the first time, they literally have a battle in slow motion, dramatic song and flower petals in the air. Sure, that's totally normal thing for anyone to do, what are you even talking about.

There are also two female characters present, but they don't feel like being there just to appease the censorship overlords. It's hard for me to say anything about them without spoilers, but the dynamic between them and the boys is interesting.

Yue Xiao Qiao, an assassin from Qianji Pavillion:

Third thing is the plot and pacing. This is a crime-solving drama, so there is an (unusually high) number of dead bodies to identify and secrets to uncover. The cases are not overly complicated, but at the same time quite interesting. I managed to guess some of the twists, but was also surprised by others.

Because of the shorter run-time there are no unnecessary fillers, something is always happening to someone. Sometimes several events are going right after another or even simultaneously, and you're sitting here like wtf. But in a good way, you know?

(Skulls are awesome, and frankly there should be more of them in every drama).

And at the same time the pace doesn't feel overly rushed. We have time to witness some dramatic flashbacks, tender scenes and some funny moments sprinkled in between.

Also-also, and this is a slight spoiler, but I know that a lot of people are pissed about generally crappy endings in cdramas, so I'm happy to announce that Decline has a good one! Like, wow, what a rare thing this is. Though not every mystery is solved, so there's a potential for season 2, but at least you won't be left feeling like you've been slapped in the face with a rotten fish afterwards.

Forth thing (and this is my personal opinion), this drama is definitely a love story between Sui Han Bai and Su Cheng Xi. They obviously don't say anything out loud, and regard each other as "best friends" (this "xiong di qing" aka "brotherly love" excuse has been cracking me up since Guardian), but come on. Like, you literally have several tropes that are common in het romance dramas! And the lengths that they go in order to protect each other? Simply insane.

Speaking of protectiveness, Sui Han Bai. This guy surprised me the most in terms of his disposition. Based on the initial impression, his dynamic with Su Cheng Xi (playful vs strict), and his archetype that we've all seen in previous dramas, you'd think that you know what kind of character this constable is going to be, right? Well... I don't want to spoil anything, but there was a moment in ep.3 where I was like: "Holy shit, he could just do that?" So I'm just going to put this picture here, and leave it up to you to guess the context:

This was a scene where I was like, I love this guy. Devotion, combined with ruthlessness. Delicious.

Overall, I really liked it! Adding this little gem to my collection of mystery-solving boys. The history books will write that they were really good friends.

Rewatching TFP-

Giving you commentary of episode 6 -Masters and Students.

(I would talk about episodes 1 - 5, except I watched them yesterday and it made me realise that they stress me the hell out. Instead I’m going to cover episodes that don’t stress me out nearly as much)

Also I watch Transformers Prime on Stan (I’m pretty sure Stan is only in Australia, but it’s a streaming service and has every episode of TFP), so if any of these time stamps don’t match up, I’m sorry.

Not saying much about the first part because it’s pretty much as seen.

*intro*

02:52 - scenes like these where it’s just Ratchet and Optimus cannot be viewed without at least one ‘this is proof their marriage certificate exists’ moments.

03:14 - and there it is. Optimus literally just when ‘mm’ and Ratchet immediately switched up his approach, the second approach worked significantly better.

03:44 - I like how you can tell Optimus has significantly larger strides when running compared to Ratchet. He started off further away, but arrived faster and closer.

04:00 - NOTHING BOILS MY BLOOD MORE THAN WHEN MIKO SAID

‘Whoopsie’ LIKE WHO THE FRAG ARE YOU?! WHERE TF DID MIKO GO?!

04:02 - ‘h-what… in the allspark’. Ratchet pronouncing ‘what’ that way is all the proof that’s needed to come to a conclusion that he’s old. Take that clip outta context and everyone witnessing it will know that he’s closer to his deathbed than a mid-life crisis.

04:15 - Not even close to being an accurate comparison.

Just makes it sound so regal, then you remember it’s the word ‘Bumblebee’. + Optimus had no reason as to choose Bumblebee (aside from plot), Bulkhead was most likely not needed because we saw Miko’s project was pretty much complete and Jack was most likely the only one that would require assistance from Ratchet as Arcee was clearly no help.

14:22 - Now that I think about it… odds are, Skyquake isn’t calling Bee ‘bug’ because his name is ‘Bumblebee’, instead it’s more likely he called Bee ‘bug’ because he considers him a small inconvenience that could simply be squished. I feel ashamed that it’s taken me this long.

14:39 - Bee’s face rises ever so slightly- he’s obviously happy, it’s just that I never noticed it.

14:58 - See? He’s distracting the bots and giving Skyquake a vehicle mode.

So I saw Phantom on Broadway last night (10/21) and it was everything I dreamed it would be and more!!! I have so many thoughts and I thought I'd just list them here:

Act I

- The overture is so much more exhilarating live than on any recording, it was so epic

- The Hannibal elephant was so impressive in person

- When the managers said Raoul would be in their box the dancers FREAKED OUT, especially Meg and Christine, they were so excited <3

- Emilie’s Think of Me cadenza was so clear and resonant–

- When Madame Giry came into the dressing room for Meg she YELLED at her and then did a complete 180 when she turned to Christine

- John is an exquisite Raoul!!! There was so much chemistry between him and Emilie during Little Lotte. He hugged her and then after he said her name pulled away for a second just to look at her…it was so sweet. Then when he left to get his hat he ran off the stage at a full sprint, which was so cute

- Laird had an awesome hat toss and cape twirl with so much flair and extra-ness, and his MOTN was like an out-of-body experience, especially when he said “close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar” and held the note straight-tone and past the music. Then when Christine pulled the mask off he flopped onto the floor like a sack of potatoes XD

- Meg was adorable in Notes, rifling through them at the managers’ desk trying to figure out what was going on. Erica Wong was so charismatic it's hard to believe she isn't principal!

- Raquel’s comedic timing was impeccable, especially in Il Muto when she mimed pulling off the Serafimo skirt and hat

- Laird’s cackle when Buquet’s body came down is truly unparalleled (gave me chills)

- ALL I ASK OF YOU was sooooo precious!!!!!!! John and Emilie are a top-tier R/C pair!!! Their second kiss was so intense it turned into basically a full-on makeout session and I was LIVING for it; every Raoulstine shipper’s dream ❤️

- Laird was so sad on the angel!!! So much crying and whimpering, and he did this little quiet “no” when Raoul and Christine were singing AIAOY from offstage. But then he growled and it was so cool to see the switch in his mind and watch him put the walls back up and get mad…

- The chandelier drop was as jaw-dropping as expected

Act II

- Raoul and Christine’s Masquerade entrance was so cute, with the spotlight on them and everything

- Laird came down the stairs in the Red Death and Emilie was clinging to John with both arms around his waist

- On the topic of Masquerade, can we talk about how good John looks in the Hussar costume???? Wtf???

- During Notes II when Piangi said “if you can call this gibberish art” he threw the score book halfway across the stage

- John’s “Christine, Christine, don't think that I don't care” was so soft I think it melted all my organs…he leaned so close to her and acted like it was just the two of them

- Emilie’s Wishing was a highlight of the night. Her belt when that key change hit was so strong I felt it in my bones

- Wandering Child was so cool because by that point I knew how strong the trio was and their voices blended together so well

- The gunshot was so scary! Even though I knew it was coming it still made me jump because it was so loud

- Piangi’s pipes were nuts in his last scene (his “your youngest believes I'm you” right before he went off in particular)

- Laird’s entrance was so cool because he closed the back curtains with so much gusto and then just stood there for a minute like he was being extra or extra nervous (or both). Then his “say you'll share with me one love one lifetime” was so quiet and sad but the “anywhere you go let me go too” got so loud in literally an instant

- Laird’s “Christine, why?” was so heartbreaking because it really seemed like he was so betrayed that she pulled off his mask in front of all those people. When she first pulled it off he didn't even scream, just stood there in disbelief, which he did AGAIN after the kiss. Emilie came on in the wedding dress sobbing “no, no, no” and broke my heart into a million little pieces. John’s “Christine, forgive me, please forgive me” was all levels of desperate and soooo good!!!! Final Lair in general was such a whirlwind and didn't feel like fifteen whole minutes whatsoever, and Laird knocked it out of the park with that final note…they were all the best. I'm so glad I got to see him and John too. It made the show so special since Laird’s not usually there and John’s leaving but I SAW THEM!!!! I still can't believe it.

So yeah. Hope you enjoyed my thoughts :D

My thoughts on Cobra Kai season 5 because nobody asked for it

Ok so this is gonna be so messy because my brain is messy. Also these are just my opinions you can agree or disagree.

Let's begin!!

Fist off, IT TOOK TOO FUCKING LONG FOR DANIEL AND JOHNNY TO MEET! like these two were apart half the season! But because dear beloved chozen was beside Daniel i was not mad at this that much. Also their first scene together was worth the wait for real ( the "who did this to you" vibes)

Lawrusso crumbs were good i enjoyed them!! They have so much tension even when they just stand near eachother it's CRAZY!! ALSO DRUNK JOHNNY SLAPPING DANIEL'S ASS? AWESOME

Chozen and Daniel's scene were my absolute favorites this season. Like, they were really funny and because they were following the main storyline i was really interested in their scenes. I LOVE CHOZEN

But as for Johnny's storyline; im sorry to say this but I DID NOT LIKE IT AT ALL! i liked his whole part with trying to find Miguel and trying to fix Miguel and Robby's relationship and all that, but the whole baby part with Carmen was so fucking stupid . my man , you already have TWO KIDS to take care of, not to mention one of them you ignored and wasn't there for his entire childhood. Don't you think you need to focus on him now? Like, how about we spend one fucking season to actually build a better bond between Johnny and Robby? Also OMG THE WHOLE JOHNNY SEEING THE PICTURE OF THE BABY AND GETTING STRONG WAS SO FUCKING STUPID IM SO SORRY IT GAVE ME SECOND HAND EMBARRASSMENT.

On a side note; look, i like Carmen she is awesome, but Carmen and Johnny have no chemistry DEAR LORD i cannot watch their scenes together

Terry Silver is a very good villain OMG

not them making me think John Kreese fucking DIED wtf (ooh i liked the secen where he was talking to the therapist and saw every one from his past OMG SO GOOD! I was on the vergeof tears when i daw young johnny ,don't talk to me!!)

The miguel/robby and tori/sam bestisim is making me so happy!! Tori and Sam have a lot of work to do still ,but MIGUEL AND ROBBY WERE JUST ALWAYS NEAR EACH OTHER PUTTING HANDS ON EACH OTHERS SHOULDERS BRUH TOO CUTE.

Also miguel/robby/eli besties era hell yeah

I'm so happy i got a little sibling bonding between Sam and Anthony! It was important to me on a personal level OK?

The limousine part? AWESOME

The protect the egg part? TOO FUNNY I DIED

The finale WAS SO FUCKING GOOD!! it reminded me what i like about the show so much!! So SO GOOD. The chozen and silver fight? GOLD. But not the part where they made me think chozen died wtf fr.

OVERALL, i liked the season but not as much as the previous ones, the whole Johnny and baby storyline is pissing me off i hate it with a passion (sorry not sorry) .

There is also this problem that the show has had from season 1, which is, IT HAS ZERO , LITERALLY ZERO, LGBT REPRESENTATION (that one scene DOES NOT COUNT) ! My dudes this show has a LOT of characters and NONE of them are a part of lgbt? None of them are questioning themselves even? I understand that they're trying to keep the ~old vibes~ but that is literally no excuse for not having lgbt characters. It's so stupid. You can have the oldie vibes without using outdated storylines. Also lgbt people always existed.

I have decided to keep Tumblr updated as I re-watch... The Adventures of Puss in Boots! A glorious return to a show that cemented itself as the most controversial love in my history of loved media. Do I even love it? I'm pretty sure I skipped an entire season and a half in the middle because none of the episodes looked interesting! The show's last-second ending is permanently marked in my mind as the worst ending ever written! So we shall see. I'll be tagging these posts with "#rrays taopib thoughts" from here on out, so my followers can block it in advance lol.

As of right now, I've gotten through the first 3 episodes. I'll go over them:

S1E1 - Great start, I think one of the most memorable running gags of the whole show for me was always Raúl from the Thieves Market. There have got to be countless fics I've written that have a Raúl in it SPECIFICALLY reffing him.

Also, nobody recognizing the name Puss in Boots really cements this happening in his 1st/early 2nd life. He's not yet the legend, but he's getting there.

After the Thieves Market, the rest of this episode is why every time I've tried rewatching it in the past, I never made it last episode 1. It's just... not very good. Toby is THE most annoying character ever created. The animation really, really takes some time adjusting (it is. Bad.). The jokes aren't really funny.

There were a few good things, though. Dulcinea roasting Puss to kingdom come, Puss realizing he just fucking Doomed The Town ("...souvenir?"), and the fight scene is okay.

S1E2 - Dude the Sphinx is awesome, I LOVE her. An absolute queen. Also, it made me soft when Puss told Dulcinea about how his mama used to make those crunchy almond candies for him and the other orphans, how he now wants to make them for the kids here. And Dulcinea is like "bro you SUCK at baking wtf are you talkin bout" and yet he literally makes them and they're AMAZING?? I'm emotional everyone.

I also forgot that the fucking jail is in the bar... Another incredible running bit of the show.

The quality of humor also immediately rose in this episode from the first one. Good to see! Puss sucks at riddles and also cannot catch a fucking break <3

S1E3 - This episode would've been a lot better if Toby wasn't the main focus, but if it weren't for that, it'd be the best one so far! Puss is acting his usual, arrogant, "I work alone" self. He also gets Fucking Drunk at one point, so it's great.

"She has lots of rules, like we're not allowed to ask why she's crying!" paraphrasing but HOLY FUCK that made me doubletake. Humor is on the next level, let's hope it stays that way. Same point, Puss putting up missing posters in the same spot and me thinking, "man do the animators just not want to do a wide shot or smth?" but no, wide shot shows that he has to put them in the same section of wall now because Every Other Surface is Covered With Them.

Anyways, that's it for now! Might watch some more tomorrow while I finish my pib:tlw traditional piece :)

My Reaction to The Teen Wolf Movie (spoilers ahead)

My thoughts on the Teen Wolf Movie.

Spoiler it sucked.

Let’s please write fix-it fics for this train wreck. I am begging you.

Movie Spoilers ahead.

1. It wasn’t great. It did have its moments, hearing Chris Argent call the Nogitsune a “Motherf*cker” was one of the highlights of the movie.

2. Why was Jackson even there? He honestly didn’t do anything of importance and felt like a useless side character, he wasn’t even funny (and it was clear they were trying to be)

3. The Kitsune character girl. I felt absolutely no emotional attachment to her. She kinda just existed.

4. Pretty much every character felt like a side character. They were trying to cram so much into 2 hours that the whole movie felt like a super long trailer for an even longer movie. There was no character development, no relationship development and to be honest it felt like I was watching completely new characters that I had no attachments to. They all just felt like they were boiled down to one personality trait. Like for real, add as many scenes as you need to make sure every character arc and plot line gets addressed properly. A movie can be more than 2 hours. Hell. There are movies that are 10 HOURS LONG! Make the movie how ever long it needs to be to give characters depth, give each plot line the details and attention they deserve, and to make the movie not feel rushed.

4 1/2. Except Derek. Derek was awesome as always. And then they fucking killed him. And I was one second away from chucking my phone at the wall.

5. Anyone else think it was kinda weird how Derek kept the jeep, yet supposedly hated it with a passion? He hated it, yet he never through it away. And then Eli, his SON, kept stealing it and was overall obsessed with it? No? Just me? *hint hint*

6. Eli was obviously supposed to replace Stiles. He was clumsy like Stiles, sarcastic like Stiles, obsessed with that Jeep like Stiles. And in the end he got to keep the Jeep, and that shot of him driving it made it so clear that he was supposed to be the Stiles character. But because he IS NOT Stiles, and because while he may be sarcastic, he wasn’t a spazz or funny like Stiles. And more than that, he didn’t show the same sense of loyalty that Stiles does, he didn’t have a “Scott” so the most important trait that Stiles had, was non existent in him. And because of that we will never even come close to appreciating him like Stiles.

7. Anyone else find it REALLY annoying how they kept talking about Stiles every 2 seconds as though that was going to make up for him not being in the movie? It doesn’t. It just makes us notice his absence more. And hate you more.

8. They made the movie all about the Nogistune, and yet there was NO STILES OR KIRA. Literally the two most important characters of that plot line. If the actors won’t come back, use a different villain.

9. The whole movie felt like a really long trailer. I felt like I was supposed to go watch the “real” movie when it was over. A movie should never feel that way.

10. WTF is up with Harris? He was a major villain in the movie but only had like 5 minutes of screen time. What is up with that?!

TLDR: the characters are all stale with 0 personality (except Derek. He’s great.) one of the main villains had only 5 minutes of screen time in a 2 hour movie. Stop mentioning characters who aren’t there as though that’s supposed to make up for their absence. It doesn’t. Don’t create a character to replace a fan favorite cause they will never be able to. The movie felt extremely rushed, and as though I was watching a movie trailer. Very, extremely mild, sterek vibes at times. And they used a story line that had two extremely important characters, and neither one of them was in the movie.

he has at least in his first ep that eat the rich mentallity that Always wins my heart the fact that hes queer also maybe did make me like him more cuz Cowboys should be gay 😁 nah fr he was giving me queer outlaw and the fact that everytime he Attacked someone it was acutally "scary" at least for the characters like sorry but

in a show thats about Killing and yk treats it as a joke to make him choke moxxie and have it genuinly feel threating was just awesome

u just knew he was different from the other villains

his Style was honestly fake Cowboy but i think we all know that the thing is its so stylish that i just dont care

Striker just eats with almost everything he did in the ep and the voice only made it better i even honestly like his second voice actor too but that may be cuz i am based

and yk its all good until the next time he Shows up and they start to make jokes 🥲 and its like WHY like he even swears like all the time which he didnt before and it takes from his whole vibe away ☹️ but yk i can forgive that cuz he literally Kidnapped stolas and the fact that hes working for stella gives him that lil hypocritic that i just love so i was yea its okay especially when he was on that horse 😙

and the fight scene was also awesome and i tbh found even "Harder" joke funny Where he just keeps having his fights be sexual and hes like wtf ACUTALLY if that would have been his first 'fuck' in the show it would have been 💯 funnier

but u could like feel that he gotten a whole less scary even tho he acutally harmed stolas

and that that mess of the third ep where he still has this cool vibe but its just completly runied by the fact that hes not scary that he has in the lost his cool and every other character is just weirdly useless next to him

him working with moxxies dad could be Potential for Angst tol but i honestly dont like Striker working with ppl i Think he is that loner and it fits him yk? but thats fine until he totally loses to blitzo and fizz even if his other fights were so cool? and now he looks like a rat which is still funny but kinda sad yk?

its Basically i can appricate the funny parts but its also so sad to his such a cool character be the butt of a joke 🥲 like it ruins him

BUT i still love him and i wish we acutally got to know more? like his Mixed , hates royals , is homeless and works with stella? like the Potential is so wasted

and i cant even see it working if they do try because even tho we have this whole opression shit going on the show keeps fucking it up? like imps supposed go be low?? but theres one thats a Mafia head theres on thats a star like sure they can be that but if so many can do that then blitzo and Striker just look dramatic next to it

or the fact that they keep making the sins nice at least some of the rich nice its just it makes Striker look like hes upset over nothing

Shadow & Bone S2 E3 Thoughts

The Hummingbird (flying boat) scene was visually awesome. & as much as Alina sometimes annoys me, her reaction = me during turbulence on a plane 😅

The dialogue in this show is just as good as the SFX & the costume design 😍

Is it wrong that I love literally every character EXCEPT Mal (& Alina)? Also, though I like the aesthetic of Darklina, I’m perfectly fine with shipping Alina with Nikolai or Tamar

My Overall CK S5 Review

Okay so!! I’ve had thoughts percolating in my brain since I watched the season over the weekend, and here’s my attempt to combine them into something coherent.

First of all, let me say this, spoiler free: the season is a great experience imo. There were things I didn’t like, but honestly, I enjoyed this season more than s4! Especially the fight scenes, those were incredible. If you didn’t enjoy this season, I totally get why, but after s4, my bar was so low and this season definitely went over it 😂 so I’m happy.

Beyond that…spoilers below the cut, so don’t click if you don’t want those.

So I’m gonna start with the bad and end with the good. The bad:

The Johnny-Miguel-Robby arc. Literally the only parts I liked were the parts without Johnny in them: the Miguel-Robby heartfelt talk, backing each other up in Cobra Kai, etc. But…the stuff with Johnny didn’t land.

Johnny basically told Robby he was only making amends “so he didn’t have to live with regret”…aka he’s making this about himself yet again, not about Robby. And he suggested these two, who have a history of fights gone wrong, fight it out in the apartment complex…and when Johnny lost sight of them, Robby almost fell off a balcony! (As in, Miguel almost kicked him off but then stopped). Like?? Hello?? This is not how you reconcile fighting teen boys!

And then we come to the reason why that happened: BabyGate. I didn’t like this at all. It was so transparently meant to serve as Johnny’s main reason for reconciling Miguel and Robby, which just…again, weird?? Reconciliation should be about them, not about “well we’re having a baby so shape up”!

It also reduces Carmen to a love interest again (a problem ever since s3), and a baby incubator. Like…that’s her whole personality now. What happened to the awesome, take-no-bs nurse who turned Johnny away every time Miguel got hurt?? The one who sees Johnny’s bad habits, the one who ran away from her previous husband because of a bad feeling…now she suddenly wants a kid with Johnny?? After how Johnny has treated Robby, how he’s treated Miguel?? I think the only understandable reaction is Anoush’s sarcastic “congrats on procreating.”

Beyond that, Kenny was sent further down the CK corruption path, as I feared…the toilet scene was so disturbing. Like honestly, wtf?? Not much more to say about that, but…yeah I found that whole thing distasteful.

The Mexico arc was pointless and added nothing, but I can’t really be mad because that’s a holdover from s4 so 🤷‍♀️ honestly they wrapped that up the best they could, it wasn’t gonna be any better (it could’ve been a lot worse tbh).

The Sam & Tory reconciliation…ehh? I mean it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great. Tory hasn’t apologized for the school fight or for the home invasion, and until then, a friendship between them doesn’t feel super strong and lasting. I was glad to see them friends, but they really need to talk things out, and Tory needs to apologize for traumatizing Sam twice. That needs to happen next season or be alluded to (time passes between seasons sometimes, so I can believe it happened if the show suggests it).

If you’d asked me yesterday, I’d put the Daniel vs Silver fight here too, but…honestly I’m kinda on the fence about it? I watched it again, and I see what other people on here mean when they say Daniel was using defense against Silver, twisting his method against him. Like that was cool, I’ll admit. But I think him doing kata, beating Silver like he beat Barnes (thus showing that Silver still underestimates him, because Daniel never needed him) would’ve been a lot better. But…hey, I cheered when Daniel crane-kicked him, I’m only human 🤷‍♀️ so yeah. Mixed feelings.

I skipped most of Kreese’s scenes except the ones with Tory, Daniel, and Johnny, and the therapy scene, and tbh I regret nothing. Glad I did that, I’d do it again.

Now on to the good!

Chozen is an absolute star, I love him. I wish we got more of him, especially him infiltrating CK…I felt like that was cut short too early. Especially with him mentoring Tory!

Amanda’s backstory is fantastic. s4 did a great job with it (surprisingly), and s5 carries that forward. I love her being Jessica’s cousin, I love her being a rebellious teen…I love all of it, honestly!

On that note, I originally put the Amaniel drama in the bad stuff section while watching, but seeing how it ended, with Jessica telling Amanda the truth about KK3…it’s in the good things column. I was crying when Jessica finally told Amanda everything, I’ve dreamed of the day she finally found out! And though I wished it was Daniel going into s5, I’m glad it wasn’t. The way Silver messed with his head this season…I’m glad it was someone who saw it firsthand and could tell Amanda in his stead.

Mike Barnes was a surprisingly great addition?? Didn’t expect that 😂 wish we got more of him, and I never thought I’d say that.

Sam this season was incredible, so was Tory’s arc at CK, so was Robby’s arc of trying to save Tory and Kenny, so were the adults’ arcs (not Johnny’s, as discussed)…and so was the new CK sensei! And…I didn’t know how they were gonna do the tournament placeholder, but they made it work, kudos to them!

So yeah, there are my thoughts! Thought it was great with room for improvement, and I’m cautiously optimistic about s6
