Okay but what about Bruce ends up taking all the little kids to a gala with him because none of his kids want to go and they'll only escape anyway if he drags them there.
He's got baby Helena on his hip and Lizzie clinging to his side even dropping on adult conversations. Lian and Mar'i are sucking up to the older ladies so they can con sweet treats and hard candy from them. Jake and Ellie (Stephanie's daughter whom I named Elizabeth way before I knew about Diana's daughter) are colouring at a table together quietly.
And Bruce can't stop talking about his babies and grandbabies. And he's showing all the other rich socialites cute little photos and everyone's just gushing over how cute they are.
And they all look so adorable in their little outfits too!! Dressing them all up and taking photos at the gala and just gloating over how these kids are the best kids, even better than all the other socialites kids/grandkids.
And obviously this won't last long, soon the little ones will be whining about how boring the galas are and Bruce will have to find new people to drag along with him. But I definitely think Lian and Mar'i will keep coming for as long as they can milk the adorable little girl acts to fill their pockets with treats.
Dick is probably a little disappointed at Mar'i but it's not like he didn't do the exact same thing himself so he'd be a hypocrite for telling her off. Jason and Roy just high five Lian with a laugh and ask her to share the goods she collected with them.
Also like Bruce going to their school or sports things whenever he can get the time to do so. He's one of those mom types that are convinced their kids are the best in the play or on the soccer field and he gets really bitchy about other mums who do the exact same thing.
And obviously Bruce pays for all there school fees to get them into good education. He spoils the little ones absolutely rotten.
Like the kids at school will be like "oh yeah my grandparents gave me $500 for Christmas so I could choose whatever I wanted". And Jake is like "yeah well my grandpop got me a real motorbike and a phone!"
Holy hell does Dick parental lock the shit out of that phone btw. He also knows Bruce has a tracker on it because he's paranoid about the little ones getting hurt or something. Which is contradictory to the fact he got the kid an actual kid-sized motorcycle. Dick is not happy. Kori thinks it's awesome.
Also like, of you wanted you can also add Tim's baby clones in here too. A little Bart clone and a little Kon clone causing chaos everywhere they go. Bruce loves his grandbabies despite everything but damn those little boys really wear him out running circles around him.

I hate to be that bitch, but there was no form of gratification in that Titans finale.
We know they’re endgame, we’ve seen M’ari, but they’re acting so shy shy about getting into a relationship. These people shagged. TWICE! Yet they wanna act like we forgot that. They’ve been mum and dad from day one and collecting to their litter along the way.
They’ve been skirting around the inevitable for so long that this doesn’t even feel natural. And I know it was rushed due to the fact that they show was cancelled.
The burn was so slow that it stopped and was only picked up to finish the plot point. It didn’t even seem to pick up after they both met their child.
And I know that the only reason I feel this way because of the best episode that they’ve ever dropped “Dick & Karol & Ted & Kory”. That episode was crack. co. caine. Everything about that episode was suburb and nothing else has even attempted to come close.
I have so much more to say but it’s so hard to put into words the somewhat anger I feel right now

TNR: What Could Have Been
I decided to continue from my previous THW post and come up with a new version of The Nine Realms. This spin off show would take place a thousand years (give or take) after the events of the AU version of THW. I’ve changed the characters names but feel free to picture them as they appear in the show.
Title: Flight Club
Premise: the characters live in Canada, and their parents work for a nonprofit called DRACO - Dragon Research And Conservation Organisation. The members of this org believe dragons should be treated as wild animals - they should be studied and protected, but not ridden or trained by humans. The five teens want to ride dragons however so they start a secret ‘Flight Club’ for it.
Protagonists
Leader: Kory Kullersen
Kory is short for Hickory, which is a source of amusement for everyone except him.
He knows he’s descended from Hiccup (he took a DNA test one time) and decides that he too is going to befriend and learn to ride a Night Fury.
He ends up befriending a Night Light (M) who is mostly black with a white stripe all around its body. This is why Kory names his dragon Oreo.
As a kid he was a member of the Scouts and knows how to survive in the wilderness. Which helps when he and his friends go off ‘camping’.
His uncle Robert (who may or may not be descended from Gobber) is a mechanic and taught him how to use tools/fix machines.
He sucks at using computers. He can manage his phone but that’s it.
Lancer: Julian ‘Ian’ Feng
Ian and his big sister are adopted and have two mums. One of whom is a Canadian named April and the other is a Chinese-American named Mai.
Even though he prefers being called Ian, his sister teases him by calling him July. They both joke that a third sibling will be called Augustus.
The two of them can read and write Chinese and use it to communicate in a secret sibling code (secret to everyone except Mei, of course).
Ian bonds with a Hobblegrunt (F) he names Hob-Nob. Kory gets annoyed that his idea to name a dragon after a cookie was stolen.
Ian loves aircraft and plays on flight simulators. It’s Kory’s idea to ride dragons, but it’s Ian who figures out the best way to do that.
He and Kory have a ‘vitriolic besties’ kind of relationship. They bonded over having stupid first names but also tease each other about it.
Heart: June Feng
June is the most organised of the group. She’s fond of calling her brother and friends idiots (affectionate) and reminding them to take first aid stuff, snacks, water and to go to the toilet before they start flying around.
She’s a big history/dragons buff and loves pestering Kory about his heroic ancestor. He keeps telling her it’s really not that big a deal.
Her dragon is a Windwalker (M) she decides to name Gary, as in gharial, a species of crocodilian native to Asia that the dragon resembles.
June is very passionate about protecting dragons and will swear like a sailor, in both English and Chinese, at anyone trying to hurt them.
This contrasts nicely with her well groomed, fashionable appearance. Which also contrasts with her brother, who is kind of a slob.
Between their mums, June is closer to April than to Mei, since April is a bit more supportive of her interests whereas Mei thinks she should focus on her studies.
Big Guy: Michael ‘Mick’ Angelo Gonzalez
He has a big brother called Leonardo, a little brother called Raphael and a little sister called Donna.
In case it wasn’t obvious, his parents are big fans of TMNT. Mick…not so much. He doesn’t hate the cartoon, he just thinks his parents went a bit overboard naming their kids after the main characters.
As their strongest friend, Mick is the ‘lifter and carrier’ of the group. He likes to be useful, but wishes he wasn’t seen as just ‘the strong guy’.
Mick rides a Thunderclaw (M) he names Rhino, because he loves animals.
He’s the one who suspects the dragons aren’t merely intelligent, but full on sapient, and with Alexa’s help comes up with ways to test this hypothesis.
Mick has a crush on June and thinks she’s the prettiest girl he knows.
Smart Gal: Alexa Baker
She’s the techie of the group, and her friends like to joke that Amazon’s Alexa was named after her.
Out of all the five, Alexa is the most nervous around dragons. She is particularly anxious when it comes to the more aggressive species.
The irony is that her dragon ends up being a Changewing (F) that she names Maple.
She likes to challenge herself by sneaking past her dad, who is head of security at the research institute they’re staying at.
Her dad and Kory’s mum seem to have a thing for each other, which is super awkward, because Alexa has a crush on Kory and definitely doesn’t see him as a step-brother.
Alexa has a great love of detective stories, escape rooms and other puzzle solving games.
The Dragons
Oreo: an adventurous and stubborn male Night Light who’s father is a Light Fury and mother is a Night Fury. Oreo grew up on New Berk until he set off to explore. He meets Kory when the boy is out hiking. Oreo isn’t scared of humans, but has no interest in having a rider. Kory’s persistence pays off however and he ends up rescuing the boy from a territorial Whispering Death.
Hob-Nob: a gentle and skittish female Hobblegrunt who is caught and studied by the researchers at DRACO, to learn more about her species colour change abilities. When Ian realises how desperate she is to be free, he lets her out of her cage. In her rush to leave she accidentally snags him and carries him back to her nest. He earns her trust by freeing her and also not harming her babies.
Gary: a playful and daring male Windwalker who is rescued from poachers but left with an injured wing. He splashes June with water from his pool when she walks by. She splashes him right back and the two of them quickly become friends. When she realises that he’s lonely without his pod, June spends more time with Gary, earning his trust until he offers to let her ride on his back.
Rhino: a grumpy and tenacious male Thunderclaw who is also rescued from poachers. He was left behind by his migrating flock and needs to recover from a broken leg before he can catch up. Mick is the one who takes care of him whilst he’s recovering, and whilst Rhino takes a while to warm up to the teen, they bond eventually. Rhino then decides to stick around with Mick after that.
Maple: a mischievous and inquisitive female Changewing who turns up to explore the research facility. She sees Alexa sneaking out and follows the girl. At first Alexa is really nervous and keeps trying to shoo her away, but it’s no good. Eventually the staff catch Maple and plan to relocate her. Alexa, not wanting her new friend to be sent far away, lets her out of the cage instead.
Antagonists
The Bully: Lee ‘Buzzcut’ Burns
An old bully/ rival of Kory and Ian, he shows up in the area on holiday (supposedly) and discovers the gang are riding dragons.
He demands a dragon of his own in exchange for keeping the secret.
Lee secretly plans to use said dragon to make money.
The gang do their best to keep him from both getting a dragon to abuse and from revealing their secret club to the adults at DRACO.
The Smuggler: Damien Evans
The leader of a smuggling/poaching ring that captures and sells wild dragons to various, often illegal, zoos and menageries.
He is an enemy of the flight club members by extension of being in conflict with DRACO. However, since they’re teens he doesn’t take them seriously.
Their first encounter with him is when they rescue a baby Featherhide that he’s smuggled from Brazil, even though it’s too cold in Canada for her.
Damien is greedy and arrogant. He thinks his connections will be enough to keep him from going to prison. Kory and the others become determined to prove him wrong and put him behind bars for good.
The Bounty Hunter: Jacque ‘The Ripper’ Kennedy
He claims dragons are dangerous beasts that must be culled for the good of society and the ‘ecosystem’, despite not really caring about nature.
This is really just a thinly veiled justification for his desire to kill dragons for glory and prove how tough he is.
Jacque is convinced he is descended from the Normans, who in turn are descended from Vikings, and sees himself as ‘continuing their legacy’.
The fact that it was Vikings who fought against dragon hunters isn’t something he wants to acknowledge. He doesn’t see the original Berkians as ‘real Vikings’. His idea of ‘real Vikings’ are white supremacists.

A conversation I just had with my mum:
Mum: Korianna, just so you know, this is not snow.
Me: Umm... Then what is it?
Mum: Don't let it confuse you, this is icy white stuff.
Mum: *steps outside*
Mum: Nevermind, this is fluffy white stuff. *Under her breath* Icy white sheet of death.

Headcanon : Dick Grayson being a dad
Tumblr media
Author note : I can’t explain why but I am sucker for Domestic Headcanon, hope you will enjoy it. Like my other headcanon is based on the event of Titans show and could be considered as a sequel to this headcanon.
Warning : slight spoiler / nothing but fluff I am sucker for domestic headcanon LMAO.
I do not the gif credit(s) to the owner
Tumblr media
First of all : Dick Grayson never saw himself as a dad
Sure he has a thing for child in distress and he already prove how good he was with children
Plus we know thanks to Rachel’s dad : He used to dream about having a family
But with everything happen : Deathstroke, Donna, Jerrircho… He started to questionnate his personality and ability as human being. Basically he started to be afraid he won’t be a good leader, a good father, a good partner.
He felt self-concisous about himself : he nearly lose Jerricho and Garp they were under his responsibility and yet he failed
Or he was about to
Fortunately he got his shit together
So your relationship didn’t get hurt as much as it could : Dick tried to push you away from him but you know better, it was just his way to protect you from him and everything.
So after a huge fight between you two : He finally confessed about how much you mean to him and ho much he cared for you, you did the same you told him you loved him and there is no one you would share your life but him
After this you became closer to each other
And what should happen, happened : you get married to the only man you wanted to share your life.
Everyone was so excited and happy : it was like your wedding help everyone to forget their issues
5 months after your wedding you got pregnant
9 months after you gave birth to a gorgeous daughter
Dick named her after his mum’s names
You two decided Kory will do an awesome godmother (She will)
During the whole pregnancy, Dick felt different stages : First he was S U P E R afraid I mean we’re talking about a baby HIS baby, his very first baby. Yeah, he was good with children but he never experienced baby : how’s that work anyway ? Could he manage it ? Was he going to lose you ? Could Alfred help him with that ? Then after a long conversation with him a got super confident, I mean he is around children all the time you were there, Kory was there everyone were there with him there no way he’ll fail as a parent right ? Those two stages switch like week by week. It was getting difficult for you : not because of the pregnancy but because you had to deal with an overwhelming husband. But he got fine eventually.
What I am going to say is obvious but I had to say this : Dick is an overprotective daddy
Especially because he got an adorable little princess : HIS little princess
She got him around a finger : there literally nothing he won’t do for her
You teased him so much about « Annw look at this who‘s got wrap around her little finger ? »
He is overprotective dad but not too much I mean : He’ll learn her to deal with pain, like not crying when she fell on the floor not because it’s being weak but because it’s alright there nothing to be afraid of. He’ll teach her to be obedient but don’t be afraid to ask when something doesn’t feel right to her. She’ll be fair with people and basically a very open-minded girl. He did everything on his power so his daughter will become an awesome adult.
That didn’t mean he won’t kiss ass if someone dare to put a finger on his daughter : she is his treasure no one could touch her
At first he was a bit awkward when it came to play with her : especially when she was a little girl, she used to ask him have tea with him. It wasn’t like he didn’t want to play with her but he could be socially awkward, nonetheless he did his best to be the best dad of the world.
You on the other hand felt so lucky to have such an amazing husband : He is the one who dealt with midnight baby’s bottle, singing lullaby when she had a nightmare or checked if a monster was under her bed. He is a truly helpful husband
Got skill at changing baby’s nappies too
The first time he went to a park with his daughter : he got surround by single mums I mean the man is really handsome but picture him with a 1 yo little girl around his arm ? See it’s absolutely lovely.
Oh man he felt so awkward like « yeah s’cuse me I am here for my daughter … »
Sitting, he couldn’t stop watching the whole park just to be sure his daughter was 100% Safe : People called him « ParkPD »
He did the same while shopping : he never left the shop without buying something for his daughter
She might be spoiled but she isn’t materialist
Always bought some cute pajamas like teddy pajamas
He is sucker for baby’s laugh : it became his favorite sound
Seriously he can do anything to her giggle
The first time he had to let her go to school : broke him. He was getting used to have her all around and now she will be far from him for a days.
Basically he did anything to deplay her first day at school.
« If you don’t feel ready (your daughter ’s name) just let me know » « Dick seriously she is 3 years old she is ready ! » « we can’t be 100% sure I-I won’t be there to check... »
Liar. Since her first day at school he always took time to check on her during her playtime. And if couldn’t be here because he is busy doing his Titans thing or police work, someone will definetly check on her probably Kory or Rachel / Gar’
Sometimes you got jealous about how close he is with his daughter : they got a lot of moments together
Of course you were close to her too
He took him time but he decided to introduce his daughter to Bruce : he wasn’t sure if Batman should be a part of his life of your life. But then you remember him about everything Bruce did for him and how well his relationship was with him now, dick didn’t want to lose that.
Both of you were surprised to see Bruce with a baby, turns out he was good with them almost like a grandpa.
Bruce got her some t-shirt with his logo on it, he thought it was a great gift
Your daughter got a tiny bat as a teddy it became her favorite
Because of his past, he is always afraid he might lose his daughter so time to time when he felt down : you were here by his side telling him to relax and enjoy the present she’ll grown up super fast and become a women eventually.
He did as you told : he couldn’t be more thankful. He was married to you, he felt so lucky to have you with him. You got him a beautiful daughter such an awesome princess. He couldn’t be more happy.

Provoking Ire
Author’s Note: Originally started out as “Hey, lets write a really short, funny scene with Mei making rude gestures at people!”
~Three thousand words later...~ __________
“Mei, ya sure ya wanna do this?” Tala handed Mei the practice weapon, frowning slightly. “ ‘Cause ‘m not sure…”
Mei nodded firmly, taking the weapon in hand. It was, essentially, a plank of stout oak, longer than she was tall, with a leather-wrapped handle meant for a two-handed grip.
~Yah. T uses a sword too,~ she added, pointing to her cousin’s sword and shield, currently being guarded by a watchful blue chocobo. ~An’ T practice fights with tall folk, sometimes.~
“Well, yeah. But issa little different! I started learnin' years ago! But Mei has only been learnin' fer a little bit! Maybe gettin’ a few more lessons first would be better…?”
Mei shook her head, expression confident. ~Is fine. Mei wants ta learn like this, Mei learns best like this.~ Shifting her grip a moment, she made a fist with her right hand, and pressed it into her own chest, near her heart. ~T can trust Mei, ok?~
Tala just sighed. “Alright.”
“Yo! You popotoes done dithering yet?” the big Hyur called out, shifting from foot to foot, his own oversized practice blade resting on his shoulder. “I’m a busy man, so if you’re just gonna chicken out, just gimme the gil now so I can get a drink somewhere.”
Both lalas turned towards the speaker. Tala just grimaced in exasperation, while Mei’s eyes narrowed in irritation.
“Is only NOON!” Tala protested with a huff.
The young mercenary laughed. “Yeah, so? In case ya hadn’t noticed, shorty, Gyr Abania is hot. It’s always a good time for a drink.”
The lala just shook her head and turned back to Mei. “Anyroad. Okay, so remember ta watch how he moves. He’s got th’ longer reach, so ya hafta be quicker ‘n ‘im. ‘Specially since ya only got a big wooden stick ta attack an’ defend with.”
~Duh,~ the younger lala scoffed, still focussed more on the cocky mercenary than the advice.
“Hey, is not MY fault ya chose th’ big giant sword ta learn. Issa different kinda sword fightin than mine, so ‘m not able ta help ya wi’ that. But fer basic fightin things, yeah.”
Finally noticing the cause of Mei’s distraction, Tala flicked her cousin’s forehead. Hard.
Mei rubbed at the new bruise. ~Ow.~
“Focus, Mei!”
~Fine,~ she pouted.
“So, one part of fightin I learned from Kori is stuff like this. Sometimes when people are fightin', they can do an’ say dumb things. Like, ta break yer focus, an’ put ya on yer back foot. Kori says, easiest way fer them ta do that, is ta make ya mad. Like, callin lalas popotoes an’ stuff. So dun let ‘im trick ya inta anger, okay?"
The other lala nodded.
“An’ dun forget, YOU can use th’ same trick on ‘im, too. So, like, Kori likes ta shout mean things at ‘em. Callin’ ‘em names, tellin ‘em ta stuff their, uh, stuff inta their own backsides, ‘n things.”
Mei raised an eyebrow. ~Oh? So how ‘bout T? What does T do?~
Tala flushed slightly. “Umm… well… a-anyroad. Even if ya can’t yell at ‘im,’m sure ya can come up wi’ somethin.”
After a moment, the younger lala just grinned wickedly.
“Yo, seriously! Any time now?”
Recognizing her cousin’s mischievous expression, Tala sighed. “Just dun make ‘im TOO mad, okay? I’d hate ta get run outta town fer bustin' 'is face wi’ my shield.”
The man scoffed. “I’d like to see ya try it, shorty!”
~No promises,~ Mei retorted, gripping the practice blade in both hands as she turned to face her current "tutor."
“FI-nally! Alright, pipsqueak, let’s get started…”
___________
The sounds of heavy clashing wood filled the air of the small sparring yard.
It was stupid. The whole thing was just dumb. Starting with a pair of novices, sizing each other up at the small town's only training dummy. Some unsolicited criticism first, then some rude gestures and snippy commentary in return, dutifully translated by a reluctant Tala. And now this -- a "friendly" challenge and wager.
Tala was clearly against it, but could only watch anxiously from the sidelines.
So far, Mei was doing remarkably well at holding her own, despite the fresh welts and bruises both combatants were now sporting. It seemed Mei did learn quickly when thrown into the fire. Especially since her opponent was a little impatient. And not used to facing opponents so much shorter than himself.
Mei was also exceptionally good at taking advantage of that. And at being a brat about it.
The lala ducked under a wide slash, then managed to counter with an upward swing that seemed almost impossible with such a large sword. The Hyur jumped back, but not quick enough -- the blunted wooden tip managed to clip him. He fell back with a curse, clutching his left forearm.
But Mei quickly stepped forward in pursuit, switching her grip and leaping up to deliver an overhead strike. The man barely managed to adjust his own practice blade to block, grunting at the force of the blow. A little unnerved, pulled back again, blade ready to guard.
“Shit!” he spat, tensing his arm, the pain still pulsing like a jagged flame, flaring to the beat of his own heart. “What the hell!”
Mei smirked and relaxed her stance, settling her sword against her shoulder and beckoning with one hand. The insult needed no translation.
~Bring it.~
His eyes narrowed. “You’re a spicy little popoto, ain’t ya,” he sneered in response, grip tightening in anger. “Looks like I’ll have ta stomp ya back into the dirt a bit!”
Both lalas blinked in momentary confusion, trying to make any kind of sense of that. But when the man charged forward with a roar, Mei set herself for another clash.
He attempted an overhead strike of his own, intending to smack the uppity lala on the head in retribution. But Mei angled her blade to deflect most of the power of the swing and side-stepped, letting his own momentum continue to carry him forward. As his sword made contact with the dirt, she managed to spin around, slapping his butt with the flat of her own weapon. With a yelp of surprise, he lost his balance and fell.
Face first.
He lay there for a moment in stunned silence, before scrambling to his feet again.
“You little…”
Suddenly, the energy in the air shifted. Like an abrupt drop in temperature, or a sudden shadow obscuring the sun. Where before there was an atmosphere of begrudging parity and competition, now there was an invisible miasma of sheer malice.
And for just a moment, it seemed the tall Hyur’s eyes glowed an inhuman red…
He lunged forward, much quicker than before. Mei managed to barely block the first wild blow, but couldn’t move fast enough to avoid the second. Or the third. With a gasp, the wooden blade fell from her hands, pain resonating through her arm.
The fourth blow hit her in the stomach driving her to her knees, gasping for air. Wincing, she just barely managed to duck and roll out of the way from the fifth strike. She crouched to get back to her feet, only to be met with a boot to the face. Mei flew back, landing on her back with a dull thud in a small cloud of dust.
“Got anything else, runt?” she heard him growl menacingly. Blinking, Mei made out the blurry dark shape looming over her. Belligerently, she replied with a bloody smirk -- and a single shaking middle finger.
“You little…” the dark shape raised his oversized blade up high…
...and winced when a heavy coin pouch struck him in the face.
“THA’S ENOUGH! Ya won yer stupid bet, now take yer coin an’ BACK OFF!” Tala yelled, brandishing a make-shift broken broomstick handle. “Or ya really WILL get a shield ta th’ face!”
"Yeah? How ya gonna reach that high, shorty? Stepladder?"
"Nah, 'm just go gonna kick ya inna crotch ta bring yer ugly arse-face closer. Might need a jeweler's loup ta find yer itty bitty manhood, though."
"...what…?"
"Jeweler's loup? Ya know, th' thing goldsmiths use fer lookin at really small stuff? Spirits, are ya stupid too, an’ nae just ugly? ‘M feeling sorry fer yer Mum."
“Shut up, or I’ll show you ugly,” he snarled, stalking towards the shorter lala -- and subsequently away from the one laying prone on the ground.
“Ya dun gotta get closer, yer ugly face is PLENTY UGLY e’en from REALLY FAR ‘WAY!”
Mei wanted to keep watching, but her eyes were just... so... heavy. The last thing she saw was the Hyur charging her cousin’s much-smaller form in the distance.
Then darkness enfolded her in its soft embrace, and consciousness faded away.
__________
There was something loud going on. Mei wasn’t quite sure what it was, but it was loud. And annoying. And she was tired. Really tired. She just wanted to sleep a little more.
But as the noise went on and on and on, she realized that, as tired as she was, she wasn’t going to get that sleep right now. And that she was also not very comfortable right now. The floor was too hard, too dusty, and too hot. And something feathery hovering over her, cooing softly but insistently in her ear. Reluctantly, she managed to open her eyes, frowning against both the brightness of the sun, and at the pain echoing through her body.
She groaned silently as she tried to sit up. A blue feathered head helped support her.
“Kweh!” the chocobo scolded her softly, even as she felt healing energies continuing to flow from him into her battered face, easing some of the pain. Mei recognized Stalwart, her cousin’s blue chocobo companion, and gave him a little pat in thanks. She then turned her bleary attention to the source of all the yelling.
If she could, she would have laughed.
The big Hyur, the one she had been sparring with, lay in a heap nearby -- face clearly bruised and a little bloody. His nose was obviously very broken, and he may have lost a tooth or two. A healer in robes seemed to be tending his wounds. Another man, a Hyur, older and somewhat resembling the one bemoaning his smashed face, was standing over Tala, hands on his hips, yelling angrily.
Tala just glared back up at him defiantly, arms crossed. Despite one swollen eye, she was clearly unrepentant.
And finally, an armored miquo’te stood somewhat between them both, tail twitching ever-so-slightly. The manner of his stance and the state of his armor indicated he held some level of rank, as well as respect, in the small settlement.
“So,” the first man sneered. “What yer saying is, young Stefan here beat the little brat there in a spar, so YOU beat him up? Yourself?”
“No,” Tala corrected. “He baited her inta a wager. One he knew he’d win. Prolly ‘cause ‘es a lot bigger ‘n her, an’ also ‘cause he has more trainin’ too. But she managed ta get th’ drop on ‘im. He got ‘is feelins hurt, so got mad an’ beat her near ta unconscious. I tole ‘im ta take ‘is winnings an’ go, but he was gonna hit her again. THAT’S why I stepped in. Wouldnae been needed, if he hadnae got so mad an’ stupid.”
“Riiiiight. Short little runt like you managed to beat my boy Stefan with a broom handle.”
“Nope. Broom handle was mostly fer distraction. I just kicked ‘im inna crotch, then bashed ‘im inna face wi’ my shield,” she gestured to the round shield at her back with a thumb. “I e’en tole ‘im I was gonna do it, afore I did. Isnae my fault he didnae listen.”
“I’m sorry, Miss Khalynn, but the battering to his face wasn’t caused by just one hit,” the healer spoke up, continuing her healing duties.
The miquo’te looked at the lala inquisitively.
“Oh, yeah,” she shrugged. “He kept gettin back up an’ chargin in, so I had ta bash him inna face a few more times. Again, isnae my fault he's stupid. Oh, an’ ya might wanna get some ice fer ‘is crotch, too. I mighta stepped on ‘im a bit.”
Both men winced slightly, but the miquo’te’s lips twitched upward in hidden amusement.
“My boy has been training for over a year!” the man yelled. “He’s a good recruit, shows good promise with the greatsword! There’s no way…”
“Your boy,” Tala cut in sharply, “is undisciplined an’ too easily provoked. Also maybe a bit unscrupuled, ta be settin’ up wagers wi’ beginners, yeah? So maybe ya should teach ‘im better.”
“And who are YOU to lecture me, runt?”
“Miss Khalynn is recognized as a free paladin,” the miquo'te noted dryly. “She was also a volunteer in the healer’s division of the Twin Adders. And now she leads a small but honorable free company.”
The lala in question coughed, looking slightly uncomfortable.
“HAH! THIS runt? A paladin?”
Tala huffed, blue eyes glinting. “If ya want, I can bash YER face in wi’ my shield, too.”
“That’s enough, Dorian,” the miquo’te stated firmly. “Upon my honor, I assure you Miss Khalynn is indeed a free paladin. Unless you doubt me?”
The man immediately backed off. “No, of course not, Rakhal. You’re a man of yer word, and all. But, still, how…?”
“What, did you never witness Pipin Tarupin fight on the Bloodsands? Size does not count for everything.” Rakhal shook his head. “Now, back to the matter at hand. Miss Khalynn, do you swear to your earlier statement?”
Straightening, Tala nodded. “Aye, is truth. I give ya my word, upon my honor.”
The miquo’te nodded as well, then turned to the healer. “And Lucinne, what say you?”
The elezen woman looked up. “Well, the story plays out with what I witnessed when I got here. THIS one,” she poked her now bandaged patient, “was getting the snot beat out of him by Miss Khalynn. While THAT one, “she points to Mei, the lala in red being propped up by a blue chocobo “was laid out on the ground, with a boot print across her face. Her nose was smashed in, badly. Also there was deep bruising of her abdomen, and several nasty welts on her arms and face. Had to do a little conjury to heal her up a bit, but switched over to THIS one once Miss Khalynn was done with him.”
“Why didn’t ya heal my nose?” the young merc whined, gently nursing his bandaged nose.
The healer just snorted. “Because you’re a bully and an ass, Stefan. And it was about time someone put you in your place.”
“Now look here...” the bigger Hyur started angrily.
“No, YOU listen here!” Lucinne replied, just as hotly. “I’ve been out here in Gyr Albania since the breeching of Baelsar’s Wall. I’ve seen plenty of folk from all sorts of free companies pass through these lands. Some looking to help out restoring and reclaiming the land. Some looking to earn a quick gil. I know a thing or two about people. And Dorian, your boy is a bully. Like Miss Khalynn said, teach him better!”
With an angry huff, the healer gathered her things and left.
“Well then, I guess that settles things, then,” Rakhal decided. “Unless, of course, you have any further objections, Dorian?”
The big man mumbled something under his breath, but shook his head.
“What about my winnings?” Stefan whined.
At that the big man growled and hauled the injured young man to his feet by the collar, “Shut yer face, boy! If you think you’re good enough ta be showing off your blade skills, we’ll just have ta put ya to the test, right? Be ready fer more training tomorrow! At dawn!”
The two lalas and one miquo’te watched the big man drag the younger one away.
“I almost feel sorry for the kid,” he noted.
~Mei doesn’t!~
Tala laughed, earning a puzzled look from the armored warrior. She shook her head. “Issa bit long ta ‘xplain, Kal. But this is my cousin, Mei.”
He bowed politely. “A pleasure, Miss Mei. I am Rakhal'sae Moui, a free paladin like Miss Khalynn here. In fact, I trained with her for a time.”
Assisted by Stalwart, Mei had come closer to the chatting pair, and nodded back. The chocobo had healed most of her wounds by now, and she only had a slight headache. Nothing a good night’s rest and a good meal wouldn’t fix up. She nodded at the paladin politely, then glanced at her cousin to translate.
“Kal!” the other lala protested. “Ya know is just Tala. Dun start th’ ‘Miss Khalynn’ stuff again! An’ Mei says, ‘Is nice ta meetcha, too’ ”
He quirked an eyebrow. “Oh?”
“Yeah. Um, she can’t talk. But I can understand her. Kinda.”
“This sounds like an interesting story. Maybe you can share it over a nice meal?” he held up the pouch of gil that had been all but forgotten in the scramble.
Surprising everyone, Stalwart nimbly snatched it out of his hand. He prodded Mei gently until she extended an open palm, then plopped the pouch into her grasp.
“Well, guess Stal agrees,” Tala chuckled. “Lead th’ way, Kal.”
As they followed along, Tala turned to her cousin. “So, didya learn anythin’ from that mess?”
Mei smirked. ~Yah. T is REALLY good at makin’ insults.~
__________
A.N. 2: So originally, the plan was for Mei to be a Black Mage for DPS, with Dark Knight as a tanking job on the side, showing how Tala and Mei are kind of opposites -- White Mage to Black Mage, and Paladin to Dark Knight.
However, game-play wise, I rediscovered that I am in fact BAD at Black Mage, and DRK tanking just… didn’t feel right for me as a player somehow.
Luckily with Stormblood came Red Mage, a DPS class I was much more suited for. And with Shadowbringers, Mei was able to finally find a tank class that works - Gunbreaker. It’s been a lot of fun so far.
(And, thematically, having both Tala and Mei become primarily RDMs changed the focus on the cousins as well, but anyway…)
So in this story, which takes place a little bit after the close of “Greetings and Farewells,” Mei is trying to learn how to Dark Knight. Or at least, how to use the giant two-handed sword taller than she is. I know that the skills for the job have changed, and I’m no longer sure if Provoke was a thing for DRKs way back then, but I’m going with it anyway.
Also, to clarify - Mei is mute, but has the ability to "speak" with Tala telepathically. And like with spoken words, Mei can also convey a lot of emotions through the tone of these silent communications. Tala can sometimes project some emotions back through their link, but cannot manage to convey actual words.

Curiosity Killed the Cat (Part 4) - Gar Logan

Word Count: 1.5K
Paring: Gar Logan x (f)Reader
Summary: Rachel askes Gar what he feels for Y/N. Gar watches an Amazon training session.
Warnings: N/A
Masterlist

________________________________________________________________
“Holy Crap,” Rachel leapt in front of Gar the moment he arrived back home. Her eyes were bulging out of her head and her mouth hung open. He automatically knew what Rachel was speaking about, Y/N.
“Told you she was real.”
“She’s so badass!” Rachel declared as she started walking with Gar following her, “and super into you,” she looked over her shoulder to register Gar’s reaction. Gar’s cheeks flushed a bright red as Rachel spoke. He lowered his head to hide his reaction behind his green fringe. Regardless of how hard he tried to hide his red cheeks and bitten back gleeful grin at the thought of Y/N liking him, Rachel saw his joy. “Pretty too, isn’t she?”
“I- I- I- hadn’t noticed,” Gar stuttered, trying to lie.
“You can’t lie to me, remember?” Rachel chuckled and grinned.
“Okay, fine,” Gar sighed, “She’s stunning! She’s incredible! I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her since I met her.”
“What you gonna do about it?” Rachel asked as she stopped walking, leaning against a wall to look at Gar. Gar pushed his hair from his face and leaned on the wall opposite Rachel.
“I don’t know,” he muttered, “first, we’re not on Themyscira forever, we’ll be leaving eventually, even if it isn’t soon, second, I wouldn’t blame Sofia for not wanting her to be in a relationship with someone from the world of man, considering that they experimented on Y/N as a baby.”
“At the end of the day, Gar, its Y/N’s choice, not Sofia’s,” Rachel pointed out, “as for leaving Themyscira?” She sighed, “I don’t know, but maybe for the time being that shouldn’t be in our minds. I think we’ll be here for some time yet. Cross that bridge when you come to it, Gar.”
________________________________________________________________
Y/N tried not to let the fact that Gar was watching her train with other Amazons distract her. He was sitting to the side on the stone stools, observing curiously. No one off of Themyscira had witnessed the training sessions of the Amazons before. Out of all the trained and brilliant warriors he could watch, Gar chose to watch Y/N instead. His eyes hadn’t left Y/N at all.
“Don’t tell me you’re blushing because the man is watching,” Sofia teased as Y/N dodged her attack.
“Huh? What? No. Course not!” Y/N rambled, “Why on earth would I blush over that?”
Taking advantage of Y/N’s distracted mind, Sofia knocked Y/N to the ground. As Y/N leapt to her feet, she looked over to Gar, who gave her a concerned look. In response, Y/N smiled and gave a thumbs up to assure him she was fine before turning back to Sofia to hide her reddening face. God! How embarrassing!
“It’s fine to have feelings for a person, Y/N/N,” Sofia assured her, “nothing to be ashamed about.”
“I’m not used to this…” she confessed, “feelings like this… Is he still looking at me?”
“Yes,” Sofia chuckled.
“Oh Zeus, I feel embarrassed.”
“Nothing to be embarrassed about, my darling,” Sofia brushed the hair from Y/N’s eyes. “He’s merely concerned about your safety. Even Amazons can be injured.”
“Hey,” Gar said as he approached Y/N and Sofia, “you okay? Looked like a hard fall,” he looked at Y/N, hands in his pockets, as though he felt with Sofia present he had to keep at a certain distance.
“Nothing I can’t handle,” Y/N assured him, “I’ve fallen a lot harder from a lot higher.”
“Good, well, not good that you’ve fallen worse before, but good that you aren’t injured. Were you injured from the other falls? Because I hope you weren’t. Being injured is never nice, is it?”
“No, no it isn’t,” Y/N nodded in agreement.
“Take a break,” Sofia chuckled as she strolled off, “chat with the man for a while.”
“How have you been finding Themyscira?” Y/N asked Gar as Sofia disappeared.
“Yeah, yeah, it’s good, I like it here,” he nodded, “watching the training is super cool. Never seen anything like it. How’d you do that flip thing earlier?”
“Oh, I can show you later if you want, after Sofia has finished training me for the day.”
“I’d like that,” Gar smiled.
“Perhaps there is something from the world of man that you can teach me,” Y/N asked excitedly, “we can teach each other.”
“That sounds nice,” Gar said, “but I don’t know what I would be able to teach an Amazon Warrior.”
“Well, I’m sure you will think of something,” Y/N said, “it doesn’t have to be fighting.”
“I’ll get to thinking about it then,” he chuckled.
“I look forward to learning from you, Gar.”
“And I’m totally excited to learn some kickass Amazon fighting from you, Y/N.”
“Tomorrow, meet me on the shore and I’ll show you how to fight like an Amazon, like we talked about yesternight.”
“Back to training now, Y/N, my darling,” Sofia called as she walked back over.
“Do you still want to watch?” Y/N asked Gar with big eyes.
“If you’re okay with that, yeah?”
“I would be more than okay with that.”
“Okay,” Gar grinned broadly as started walking back to his seat, biting his lip with his hands in his pockets. Y/N blushed as she watched him return to his spot. Sofia chuckled and playfully prodded Y/N.
“Back to training, little one,” Sofia said, “no more gawking after your man.”
________________________________________________________________
Gar walked on the sand with a bounce in his step as he searched for Y/N. According to the young Amazon, all that Gar needed to bring was himself and his inner strength, as Amazon fighting wasn’t for the hesitant. Y/N said she was going to teach him like an Amazon, and teach him like an Amazon she will. When he finally found her, Y/N was practising steps herself, certain moves for dodging and defending. He didn’t tell her he was there straight away, no, he merely watched her as she weaved in and out of the imagined attacks, ducking, twisting, and lunging. Watching her movements was like watching a ballet – elegant, poised, but still strong and filled with immense power. Magnificent.
He sucked in as he watched her leap onto one of the rocks, feet barely grazing the stone before she pushed herself off and outstretched her legs, pointing her toes as she flipped herself backwards, turning upside down mid-air before putting herself right way up to land with incredible grace and power. Her feet hit the ground with an authoritative thud, sword still in grasp. The flip that Gar so badly wanted to learn. He had seen it before, but it still took his breath away.
“Whoa!” He said, unable to hold his reaction in.
Y/N turned to see Gar standing behind her. Momentarily stunned and a visibly giddy, Y/N quickly controlled her expression to a cool and collected smile.
“Hello there, Gar.”
“Hey,” he grinned, “that flip is so awesome!”
“Thank you very much,” she chuckled as she stabbed her sword into the sand to keep it lodged in place. This is when Gar noticed that there was a second sword there waiting. Did she really also want to teach him the way of the sword? He couldn’t believe his luck.
“Um, is Sofia alright with this?”
“More than fine with it,” Y/N assured him, “surprisingly, regardless of her thoughts and feelings of the world of man, Sofia is quite fond of you.”
“Really?” Gar asked in disbelief.
“Yes,” she nodded, “I think you are different from many of the other men we’ve heard about. Men, from what I’ve been told, seem to have an insatiable bloodlust and a hatred of women.”
“Yeah… we haven’t been the best, have we?” He chuckled awkwardly as he scratched the back of his head. “I promise you, Y/N, I hate blood, makes me nauseous,” Gar pulled a face as he thought about what he had done. It did make him sick, just the mere thought of the blood he had drawn made him want to hunch over and empty his guts, “as for women? Dude, women are awesome. Totally better than men. You should meet my friend Kory, or Dawn, you’d love them. I mean, you obviously knew Donna… Anyway, Kory’s got this awesome firepower, like the sun. Dawn is an amazing fighter. She’d love this.”
“If any of the Amazon’s thought you were anything like the men we’ve heard about, you wouldn’t have been allowed on Themyscira,” Y/N assured him with a snicker, “but hearing how much you respect my kind is nice. If I ever get the chance to meet your friends, I would certainly like too.”
“Maybe we’d be able to convince Sofia to let you visit us in my world.”
“Not very likely.”
“But still got some likeliness,” he flashed her a boyish grin, “and mums love me, I’d be able to convince her.”
“Perhaps this is why Sofia was wary about men,” Y/N teased, “how charming and tempting you are!”
“Um, I, well, me?” Y/N’s playful flirt caught Gar off guard, He went red in the face, burning with awkwardness at the thought of Y/N finding him charming and tempting. Him of all people being tempting? Being charming? Being the reason a mother would warn her daughter about men because of their enticement?
“Come on, Eros,” she chuckled with a teasing tone, “shall we begin?”

Titans S2 Ep 7 Bruce Wayne ***Spoiler
This was by far the heaviest episode in Titans and I guess one of my fav. The acting scenes of Brenton and Ian was just amazing. And Curran was such a scene stealer this episode.
The ep starts with everyone back at the Titans Tower and Jason and Dick being traumatized by Jason's brush with death. Jason keeps reliving the moment and Dick's guilt about failing to catch Jason and the secret about Jericho keeps haunting him.
Ironically, and in a way, I'm really glad that they made Bruce a manifestation of Dickie's conscience. Like no matter how much Dick wants to be separated from Bruce, in the end, we all know how Bruce is important to him. This episode is mostly about how Dick keeps running away from his guilt about having contributed to Jericho's death and trying to bury this secret by himself instead of working it out with the team. And throughout all of this we get to see Jorah Wayne as his conscience mocking him and trying to stop Dickie from running away. Also, seeing Jorah Wayne dancing with Cabaret dancers was so freaking funny. My fav scene between Dick and Bruce was definitely the Church scene.
Meanwhile we get to see Jason having so much trouble dealing with his trauma and hey ho Rose enters the picture. I know there are many Jayrose shippers going to hate me for this but I was not really feeling this thing between them. Rose just comes in with the excuse of bonding over their shared traumas over Slade fucking them over and after a really weird dance, they kiss. I have nothing against them but for once, I really wish they didn't give Jason a love interest or start something when he is in a really vulnerable state. And for me, it just doesn't feel like they should start that way because they really didn't get along at first and now the kiss just felt like a bad idea. Like I'd greatly appreciate it if Jason can have some healthy trauma free relationship.
Kory ... Kory Kory. I love that woman. I really enjoyed her interactions with Conner even if he was still unconscious from Kryptonite poisoning. Also, Eve really came through. She freed Krypto and Krypto, the best boy ever flew her out of Cadmus to Titans Tower. And with Eve's knowledge and Kory's power, they managed to save Conner. Btw they should really stop having nude scenes of Conner. It's really not good for my sanity. And Conner calling Eve mum and Eve finally accepting it was just so wholesome.
Throughout the ep, Slade had been playing mind games with the Titans and placing things which will remind them of their bad memories but god are Titans so dumb sometimes. Like srsly the first thing Rachel does when she finds crosses on her mirror is go in Jason's room and start blaming him when the guy is so traumatized from nearly dying. And then, when Jason says no and tries to go away she chases after him and tell Donna, Dawn and Hank about that which makes the other three think that Jason did the things that Slade did and start blaming him. It was so heartbreaking to see Jason saying that he didn't do it but they still wouldn't believe him and they think that it is his fault for going after Slade alone. Like if the others used a bit of common sense they'd know that Jay had no way about knowing those things.
Fortunately Dickiebird comes at the right moment and tells the others about DS being at the tower before noticing that Jason was not there. He goes after Jason and finds him standing on the ledge of the building preparing to fall. This was hard to watch. Jaybird basically saying about how he was the poison and people tried to help him but no one could in the end. But Dickiebird and Bruce Conscience came through and Dick finally starts to really talk to Jason.
This was such a long review but this was one of my fav ep in terms of acting and emotions. The scene with Dick, Jason and Bruce conscience at the end really hit me. And I just really wanna say that Jason Todd needs all the love, affection and support. I really hope his relationship with Dick really improves. I've given up on the other Titans treating Jay better so I hope Conner will atleast be his friend.

Silent Scream | Chapter 4
Characters: OC (Evelynn Wayne nee Blair), Bruce Wayne, Damian Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth, Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Cassandra Cain, Koriand’r, Stephanie Brown, Barbara Gordon and Duke Thomas
Tagged: @writersfailure Let me know if you’d like to be tagged for future updates of Silent Scream!
It had been almost a year since Evelynn had come into the Wayne family, and honestly she could die happy. Through this family she’s made so many memories with her father, pop-pop and her older siblings. However now while she watched TV without a care in the world the rest of her family was having a dilemma.
“So what you’re telling me, Mr. Detective, is that we don’t know when Evy’s birthday is?” Jason asked rubbing his eyes. “We must have missed it! Oh god, she must hate us!” Dick exclaimed running a hand through his hair. Due to the loud commotion Evelynn had such off the TV and waddled in to find her family having a discussion...without her! With a pout she ran up to her closest brother, which happened to be Tim, and tugged on to his pants to gain his attention.
Sputtering Tim quickly picked up his sister with a shaky smile. “Hey there sweetie, what...uh whatcha doing?” He let out a nervous chuckle as he felt his sister wrap her arms around his neck to nuzzle against him. Visibly relaxing Evelynn leaned over to press a kiss against her brother’s cheek before squishing against it. “Did I miss the family meeting?” She signed before sighing and holding Tim a bit tighter, relaxing in his embrace.
“Hey kid, what about me?” Jason teased watching his little sister perk up. Pulling back she held out her hands in a grabbing motion. It had been a while since Jason was home and every time Evelynn was always so excited. Being transferred Jason tickled her a bit causing her to squeal happily before she tightly hugged him. Pressing a kiss against her temple Jason pulled back so he could hold her more comfortably while she had a dazed smile on her face, resting her head against his shoulder.
“Uh, so...Evy we were wondering when your birthday is?” Dick asked with a nervous smile. Squint Evelynn thought before shrugging and signing, “I’m not sure. Mum never celebrated anything like that for me.” She explained before settling back into Jason’s grasp, not noticing that it grew tighter around her.
With a grim expression Bruce sighed and shook his head, her mother was a real piece of work to say the least. Soon Evelynn was given to her father, pouting slightly since she only just gotten time to spend with Jason. Resting both her hands on her father’s chest she smiled up at him, tilting her head to the side. “Evelynn, would you like to celebrate your birthday on the day you came to our home?” He asked her watching her eyes brighten.
Nodding Evelynn quickly signed, “Can I!?” She beamed at the thought of having a day with all of her siblings with her, for her. With a smile Bruce pressed a kiss against her cheek, causing her to laugh. “Of course, sweetheart. In fact around that time your other brother is returning from a...business trip.” This of course made her even more excited. “Another brother!?” She signed excitedly.
“Oh, are you talking about Duke?” Tim asked watching Evelynn looking between her brothers, wanting to learn more about him. “Yes, he’ll be coming home soon, so make sure Evelynn is comfortable with him.” Receiving a nod from everyone Evelynn smiled happily at him. “Will Barb come? What about Steph?” She signed looking at her dad. It had been a little while since she’s seen her older sister’s and she’d love to see them for her first birthday. “Of course, I’m sure they’d love to come.” Bruce smiled down at his daughter before watching her turn and squeak for her oldest brother.
“R-Richie!” Her scratchy voice called for her brother causing him to melt on the spot. “Ah, I’ll never get use to her little voice.” Dick cried, clutching his chest before Evelynn was put into his arms. “Will Kori come too?” She signed excitedly. Nodding Dick nuzzled her, cheek-to-cheek. He was always so happy at the fact that she liked his girlfriend, even seeing her as a big sister as well. “If you want her there I’m sure she’ll be excited to come!” He told her watching her break out into a full blown grin.
*****
In Evelynn’s mind her birthday couldn’t have come any sooner, however for her family they wish they could have more time. With her family preparing not just one, but four gifts for her, one for every birthday they missed and for their current one, their hands were quite full.
Her day started with Cassandra gently waking her up and helping her get ready. For the rest of that morning she stayed in her sister’s arms, happy to receive so much attention from her. As they descended down the stairs the two heard a gasp and a coo. “Oh! Who’s this little lady?” Dick teased causing his sister to giggle. “Happy birthday, princess.” He smiled pressing kisses against her cheeks while hugging her tightly.
“The happy birthday to you, Evelynn!” A happy voice was heard behind them. Turning around Evelynn practically jumped out of her brother’s arms. “Kori!” She managed to say much to the older woman’s delight. “Yes! Your speech is getting better, little one.” She poked Evelynn’s nose causing her to wiggle it before giggling and hugging her. “Many thanks for the invitation!” She smiled causing Evelynn to give her a thumbs up as she knew the older woman didn’t understand sign language.
“Alfred is in the kitchen if you want breakfast now.” Dick told her as she was set down. Jumping up she ran towards the kitchen before running back to hug Cass’s and Kori’s legs while giving Dick a proper hug as he was still kneeling down. He also got a small peck against his cheek as he was low enough to receive one. Now she ran towards the kitchen exclaiming, “Pop-pop!” While doing so. She was trying her best to speak more often now, but she could only manage one word and a name at the moment.
*****
Soon the party was in full swing. All of her siblings coming to celebrate what she wasn’t sure, but just for today, all of them were paying attention to her and that’s all she could ever want. “I heard there was a birthday?” A new voice asked from the doorway. “Duke! Welcome back!” Dick called from his spot as he was playing a game with the rest of the siblings.
Running up Evelynn looked up at her new brother and waved. Setting down the gifts Duke ruffled her hair with a smile. “So I guess you’re the birthday girl, huh?” He asked receiving a bright smile and nod from his new little sister. “Evy!” She chirped happily pointing to herself before pointing at him. “Duke.” He smiled copying her before she ran up and hugged him, nuzzling into his grasp happily.
Duke was taken aback at how excited she was, but still he was happy to be back, with a cute new little sister to boot. Picking her up Duke smiled at the rest of this siblings. “Now how about we get these family games started, huh?” He asked her causing her to nod and point to Barbara. Sitting in her lap the older woman she wheeled over to the rest of her siblings while Stephanie set up a game of monopoly for them to play.
Much to the surprise of everyone they were all outplayed by the four year old. Yup, she was definitely Bruce’s daughter, she was too good with business not to be, much to the pride of said man.
*****
As the party died down and some of the siblings went home Evelynn sleepily dragged around her new bunch of toys. Two bears tucked under her arm from Dick and Kori, a cat she shoved in her shirt from Jason, a little sheep clutched in her left hand from Tim and a plastic sword from Damian in her right hand. She wore a turtle shaped backpack from Cass, cat ears from Steph, new shoes from Barbara and colourful bracelets from Duke. The rest of her gifts had been things new clothes from Bruce and Alfred. Now Evelynn marched around happily showing off her new collection to anyone she could. Her siblings, grandpa and dad had seen her walk in and out showing off the same four items but they kept giving her fresh new reactions to watch her giggle happily before doing it again.
At this point it was well past her bedtime as she sluggishly dragged her feet to once again show everyone what she had. However, this time once she got to the centre of the room she laid her gifts on the ground before curling up with her toys. Laughing Alfred had went over to the snoozing child to remove the items around her, saying he was going to arrange them all in her room so when she wakes up she can play with them.
Picking her up Bruce bid the rest of his kids good night as he went to put his daughter down to bed. As he laid her in bed she instinctively curled around the plushie of Batman that her brother’s jokingly bought to tease their father. Smiling down at his daughter he brushed back the strikingly familiar mop of black hair before pressing a kiss against her forehead and cheeks. “Good night, sweetheart. Thank you for coming into my life.” He murmured quietly before shutting the door behind him.

What do your Magic School OCs do for the holidays?
Okay so at the school all students are given the option of going home for the holidays or staying a school, a lot of the students will choose to go home, spend time with their family, all that wonderful stuff. That's the case for a lot of the Gang who are close to their family. So let's talk about their plans lol
Kalli stays some years later on in her school career but for the first two or so goes home to be with her Mum, however, the Amazons don’t celebrate any holidays so she doesn’t do any celebrations. But sometimes she does do a bit of gift-giving with the rest of the gang.
Kori is required to spend the holidays with her celebrity Dad, who celebrates Christmas. She likes to take the whole gang shopping in the town centre before school ends to buy them gifts before she has to go spend a whole 2 weeks with her Dad in wherever he's staying that year.
Julie will talk a big talk about what he's going to do over the winter holidays but will most likely spend it at the school because he doesn't want to brave the cold winter waters with his family when he could be curled up in his bed watching cheesy movies. While Mermaids and Selkies can celebrate holidays they usually just have a big meal with the whole extended families, which Julie is more than happy to miss.
Celsus celebrates Christmas with his Dad back in Hawaii, and spends most the time before going home baking holiday snacks for all his friends, the holiday season is Celsus’ favourite because it’s an excuse to do a LOT of baking.
Widya and Mary both go home to their respective families, and have a small celebration, they enjoy the gift-giving and big meal. And decorating. Mary spends around a month decorating their common room and making gifts for all her friends. Widya isn’t so invested in the holidays and much rather chooses to spend her free time curled under a blanket with hot cocoa.
WE'RE ALMOST DONE I PROMISE
Noah! Noah goes home every holiday until his sister joins the school, at which point they both stop returning home until Summer Holiday, when they literally have no other choice. As Marlocks they celebrate the Winter Solstice, and spend the rest of the holidays resting and putting aside work to rejoice and spend time with family.
Karmon celebrates Hanukkah and goes home to spend it with her Dads’ family, including her siblings and extended family who all come to visit. Her favourite part is giving gifts to some of the younger students before she leaves. She also likes when people put up mistletoe around the school so she has an excuse to kiss Celsus all the time.
Finally! Sabrina, she is required to go home during the holidays and spend it with her parents, there is usually a big ball/meal on the 24th which she enjoys attending, apart from the talking to fancy nobles she doesn’t particularly like.
So mostly everyone goes home to spend some well needed time with their families after being away so long! But one rare year, when they all stay and spend the holidays together, wrapped up in blankets around the TV and watching animated movies, is one of the best holidays they will ever have.

Tykey (Family Holiday Pt 1)
"The big ship sails on the ally-ally-oh, the ally-ally-oh, the ally-ally-oh, the big ship sails on the ally-ally-oh, on the last day of September!" Ruby's voice warbled throughout the car. She was sitting in the middle of the back seat, next to her little sister, trying her best to make her smile.
"I thought the line was 'on the first day of September', not the last?" Ruby's girlfriend, Kori, piped up. She sat on Ruby's other side and had watched this whole display, smirking at the two sisters.
"It's a nursery rhyme, the lyrics are what you want them to be," Ruby said with a shrug, turning to face her parents. "Right mum?"
"It's true, I've sung countless different versions over the years," Jaya called back from the driver's seat.
"Well, it doesn't seem to matter to Megan. She's still looking a bit grumpy." Kori replied, gesturing to the toddler in her car seat. Ruby's singing had managed to stop the tears that had flown earlier, but she still seemed unhappy to be in the car.
"That's because you're not singing her favourite one." Camryn looked up from the map she was reading and turned to Jaya with a grin. "Want to do the honours?"
Jaya grinned back, took a deep breath, and started singing, "The wheels on the bus go round and round!"
"Round and round, round and round!" Camryn, Ruby, and Kori sang back in response.
"The wheels on the bus go round and round!" Jaya continued.
"All day long!" Ruby and Kori finished, bursting into laughter.
Megan giggled and clapped her hands. "wound and wound, wound and wound!!" she sang with glee. Jaya turned to the girls in the back seat for a second with a smug smile on her face.
"You're welcome." She said sweetly, before turning back to focus on the road. The car rolled to a stop, and Megan, noticing this, began laughing again.
“I can see the sea, I can see the sea!” Everyone turned to look out of their windows, and the car went silent again. Kori leaned over to her girlfriend and whispered,
“Should we tell her that’s just a big river?” Ruby gave her sister a small smile and turned to her mothers for help.
“Nearly there, sweetheart. Just a little bit longer.” Camryn turned around in her seat and lightly squeezed Megan’s hand. “We’re just stuck in a bit of traffic, that’s all.”
Jaya stared at the sea of cars in front of her and frowned. “Stuck is right, it doesn’t look like anyone will be moving for a while.”
Turning back around, Camryn began digging through the bag on the floor in front of her. “Luckily for us, we came prepared!” She said, pulling out a pack of double chocolate cookies. Ruby and Kori broke into cheers, and Jaya looked at her wife with a smirk.
“I wonder how those got in there,” she said with a laugh.
“You know, I have no idea,” Camryn replied, flashing an innocent smile, before passing the cookies around. Ruby took three and broke one in half before passing it over to her little sister. Megan grabbed the cookie and began happily stuffing her face, smiling widely as she did so.
Nibbling at her cookie, Kori took her book out of her bag. Opening it to the marked page, she turned it towards Ruby so she could see. “Okay, so to recap. This is where we’re going.” Kori pointed to a picture of a village in the book with an excited look on her face.
“That is correct.” Ruby smiled.
“And this.” Kori turned a page and pointed to a picture of the legendary King Arthur. “Is the adventure we’re gonna go on. Tintagel has so much King Arthur stuff it’s insane!” Kori continued, her smile getting bigger with every word. She had been looking forward to this trip since Ruby first brought it up, and was ecstatic she was invited along. King Arthur was her favourite legend, and visiting one of the towns associated with him was a dream come true.
“Legend has it that he buried his most valuable treasure somewhere in Tintagel, and we’re going to find it!” She finished, pumping her fist slightly in the air.
“Hell yeah, we are!” Ruby replied, and the two high fived. "We're gonna find that treasure, make you famous, and then use your fame to stick it to every shit head at school!"
"Ruby! Not in front of your sister, please?" Jaya called from the front seat.
"Sorry, mum!" Ruby called back, before turning to Megan. "We're gonna stick it to every silly head in school aren't we Meg?" she said, booping Megan lightly on the nose.
"All the silly heads!" Megan squealed back, giggling. Jaya gave a small sigh of relief when suddenly the traffic began to move again.
"Hey, looks like we'll get there before dinner after all!" she said, giving a final glance at the backseat. The girls cheered, and the family began the final leg of their journey.
After another hour of driving, they had finally reached Tintagel. Hopping out of the car, Ruby and Kori stretched slightly, before turning to look at their house. Jaya and Camryn had rented a small cottage just outside of the village, meaning they could enjoy their evenings away from the crowds of tourists that visited the village every year.
“Aww, it looks so much cuter in person!” Ruby said, squealing with excitement.
"It really does! Like one of those houses you read about in books!" Kori chimed in, and grabbing each other's hands, they took off towards the front door.
Jaya got out of her seat and opened Megan's car door. The toddler reached her arms up and smiled. "Mummy, Mummy, I love you!" she giggled, and once picked up, wrapped her arms around Jaya's neck, pulling her into a tight hug.
"Love you too sweetie." Jaya laughed, hugging Megan back. "Right, shall we go inside and find Tyke?"
Megan clapped her hands and squealed, "Tykey, Tykey, yay!". She shifted in Jaya's arms and began reaching out towards the house. Camryn looked up from where she was taking the suitcase out of the car and laughed.
“I think that’s a yes!” She said, walking over and lightly kissing Megan’s cheek, making her giggle again. As she went to do the same to Jaya, Megan grabbed on to both of them and pulled them into another hug.
Watching her family from where she stood in the doorway, Ruby turned to her girlfriend and smiled. “They’re gonna be there a while. Help me with the bags?”
“Sure.” Kori laughed in response, and the two made their way over to the abandoned suitcase.
Once everything had been moved inside and unpacked, everyone began to settle into their evening routine. The family had dinner together, watched films and playing games, and by the time the night was over, the cottage felt like home.
***
The next morning, they all made their way to the beach at the edge of the village. Camryn had suggested going early to beat the crowds, and once there immediately began looking for the perfect spot. She surveyed the beach, stopping occasionally to inspect the sand, or to look out towards the sea. After about five minutes of this, Ruby dropped her beach bag into the sand rolled her eyes.
“Mum, come on! You do this every time!” She groaned. Camryn gave her a sly smile.
“Yes, but I do all of this for a reason, you know.”
“And that reason is?” Ruby smiled.
“Science, of course!” Camryn waved her arms in the air. “I’ve spent years trying to create the ultimate beach experience, and it all starts with the perfect spot. As you can see,” She said, guiding the girls through the patch of sand she had acquired. “There’s enough room here for all of us to sunbathe, build sandcastles, the good kind with moats, or even kick the beach ball around! Not to mention,” She gestured towards the sea. “If you girls want to go paddling, we’ll be able to keep an eye on you without anyone blocking our way!” Camryn finished with a triumphant look on her face.
“You picked a good one this time Cammie,” Jaya said, smiling up at her wife as she lay down the beach towels, “This could be your best find yet.”
“Could, being the important word there,” Camryn replied. “We’re going to have to test the sand out to be sure."
“How do we do that?” Kori asked with a confused look. Jaya and Camryn shared a smile, and Camryn reached into the beach bag and pulled out a large bucket and spade.
“Want to help me build a sandcastle?” She asked, and Kori’s eyes lit up at the words.
“Oh my gosh yes! I haven’t built one in years!” She practically screamed, making Camryn almost drop the spade.
“Wait, you haven’t built a sandcastle in years? What do you do when you’re at the beach?!” Camryn looked at Kori as if she’d just said she was an alien from another world.
“My family and I don’t really do beach holidays much. We usually go to cities and do stuff like museums.” Kori said with a shrug. Camryn’s face went from confusion, to pity, to determination all in the few seconds Kori had spoken. She walked over and gently placed a hand on Kori’s shoulder.
“Well then let’s build you the best castle you’ve ever seen!” She said with a smile, and with a cheer from the girls, the three of them ran off further down the beach to begin their big build.
Jaya and Megan, meanwhile, watched from where they sat with the bags. Jaya got out some homework she needed to finish marking before the new term started, and Megan sat by her, cuddling Tykey. Tykey was a wooden pull along triceratops Jaya had bought when Megan first learned how to walk. It was love at first sight, and even after almost a year, wherever Megan went, Tykey followed. As Jaya worked, she looked up every now and then to check up on Megan, and to watch the progress of Camryn’s sandcastle course.
“Mummy, mummy!” Megan shouted, breaking the silence. Jaya looked up with a jolt.
“What’s up, sweetie?” She asked, but noticed Megan wasn’t talking to her. Instead, Megan was looking across the beach and reaching out towards Camryn, who had begun taking the girls to the sea to collect water for their castle’s moat. “Don’t worry, mummy will be back in a bit,” Jaya said sweetly, putting down her papers and gently rubbing Megan’s back.
“Want mummy!” Megan whimpered, and she folded her arms across her face. Jaya laughed slightly at the toddler’s exaggerated expressions.
“Well good news grumpy pants, it looks like she’s on her way back!” Jaya gave Megan a cuddle and kissed her cheek. “Want to go meet her?” Megan burst into laughter as Jaya kissed her, and began wriggling out of her mother’s arms. As soon as Camryn was close enough to see, Jaya let go, and Megan took off, clumsily running across the sand to get to her mother and sister.
“Mummy mummy mummy mummy!” She shouted as she ran, dragging Tyke along with her. Camryn looked up at the sound of her daughter’s voice and smiled when she saw her almost sprinting across the beach towards her. /just before they reached each other, she put down her bucket of water, knelt down and opened her arms to greet Megan.
Megan dropped Tyke, crashed into Camryn’s arms, and squeezed her as hard as she could.
“Hey, hun!” Camryn laughed, gently squeezing her back. “What’s up? Did you miss me that much?”
“Don’t go away!” Megan whimpered again, tears forming in her eyes. Camryn’s face filled with concern.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay, I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.” She picked up Megan and began carrying her back to the bags, where she could see Jaya waiting for them. As she did so, she turned to Ruby and Kori.
“I’m going to sit with Megan for a while, can I count on you two to finish the castle?” She said as Megan buried her face even more into her chest.
“No problem! We’ll call you when it’s done.” Kori replied. The girls high-fived and made their way back to the sandcastle. Camryn walked over to Jaya, and the two cuddled up on the blankets with Megan squished between them.
Once the castle had been completed and gone through its first photoshoot, courtesy of Ruby’s new camera, the family sat down for lunch, and the rest of the day was spent relaxing in the sand and swimming in the sea. Megan refused to let go of Camryn for most of the afternoon, causing Jaya and Carmyn to become concerned.
That evening, after Megan had been put to bed, Jaya stood in the living room doorway and motioned for Camryn to join her in the kitchen. Ruby and Kori were starting to fall asleep where they sat cuddled on the sofa, going over their plans for tomorrow. Speaking in a hushed voice, Jaya said,
“I’m worried about Megan. What happened today-”
“I know.” Camryn cut in, putting an arm around Jaya. “It’s never been that bad before.”
“This can’t happen right now, not with nursery coming up. I thought we were working on her attachment issues, she seemed better.” Jaya was looking more worried by the second.
“Hey, it’ll be okay. I’m sure I was pretty hard to see that far down the beach, it makes sense that she got worried.” Camryn reassured her.
“Yeah for two minutes, what happens when I drop her off in a room full of strangers for 3 hours?”
“Well you’ll be teaching in the main building nearby, won’t you? If things get really bad you’re less than 2 minutes away. Besides, the room may have strangers, but it also has a fuck ton of toys. She’ll be in heaven.” Camryn finished, and the two of them laughed. Jaya took a deep breath and smiled.
“You’re right, she’ll be okay. And hey, at least she’ll have-”
“TYKEY!” Megan screamed from upstairs. Ruby and Kori jolted awake, while Jaya and Camryn raced up the stairs to Megan’s bedroom. Opening the door, they saw Megan sitting up in her bed, tears rolling down her face.
“Mummy, Tykey’s gone!” She wailed, before sobbing loudly.
“It’s okay, sweetie, I’m sure he just fell out of bed,” Jaya said gently, sitting on the bed with Megan, and pulled the toddler into her arms.
“Yeah, and then he got up and walked away,” Camryn muttered quietly, as she searched under the bed.
“What do you mean?” Jaya whispered back, confused.
“He’s not anywhere near the bed. Are you sure you brought him up?” Camryn whispered back, getting back on her feet.
“Yeah, I always do. Or… wait did I?” Jaya thought back to when she put Megan down for the night. She was sure she had done everything she did every night. Pyjamas, teeth, Tykey, story, song, sleep. That was the routine she and Megan had made together over the years. Come to think of it, did she have Tyke with her earlier? She couldn’t remember him being in the bed, and Megan had seemed so tired she hadn’t noticed either.
“Wait,” Jaya said, still processing the situation. “If he isn’t in the room, then where did we leave him?” Camryn gave a shrug and went back downstairs. As she entered the living room, she saw Ruby and Kori waiting, their faces filled with worry.
“Tykey’s done a runner, we can’t seem to find him in your sister’s room, so we need your help looking for him,” Camryn said, and with that the girls jumped off the sofa, standing to attention.
“Where do we start?” Ruby asked.
“Okay I need one of you to check the car, and the other to look in here, under all of the chairs, that sort of thing.”
“I’ll check the car!” Kori said, grabbing the keys from the side table and heading out the door.
“And I’ll grab my phone to look under the chairs,” Ruby added.
“Awesome, I’m going to check the bags.” Camryn smiled.
“I’m going to check the kitchen,” Jaya said, walking into the living room. She was starting to look exhausted. “Megan clocked out again after she finished crying, so I’ve left her tucked in bed. I looked in all the rooms upstairs as well, he’s nowhere to be found.” Everyone got to work, and after 20 minutes of searching, the house looked thoroughly ransacked.
“Kitchen’s clear.” Jaya called, “How are you guys doing?”
“He wasn’t in the car, and we’re not having much luck here either,” Kori said from the living room.
"Uh, J?" Camryn called slowly. "Tyke isn't in here. Or any of the bags…"
Jaya's tired eyes grew with mild panic as the realisation set in. "Oh fuck." Megan let out another cry.
"I'll go," Camryn said softly, putting a hand on Jaya's shoulder. "You try and get some rest." Jaya smiled, mouthed a thank you, and began making her way up the stairs. Camryn watched her go before turning to the girls.
"Bedtime for you guys as well, you both look shattered." Ruby and Kori looked at each other before nodding and headed towards their room.
Finally, Camryn followed them all upstairs, and gently opened the door to Megan's room. The toddler had tired herself out and was on the verge of falling asleep again.
"Want Tykey." She whimpered once Camryn had entered the room.
"I know you do sweetie," Camryn said, sitting on the edge of the bed. "But it looks like Tykey's gone on an adventure by himself. We'll go look for him tomorrow, but until then I'm going to need you to be a big girl and sleep without him tonight. Can you do that for me?" She pulled Megan into a tight hug.
"Okay mummy…" Megan said between whimpers, clinging onto Camryn as much as she could. They sat there cuddled on the bed, and after about an hour, Camryn felt Megan finally drift off to sleep. Being careful not to wake her, Camryn placed the toddler back in her bed, tucked her in, and tiptoed out of the room, towards her own.
***
The next morning Ruby and Kori once again found themselves on the beach just outside of Tintagel. Megan had spent the night constantly waking up and crying because she didn’t have Tykey with her, wearing herself out, falling back asleep for an hour or so, and then waking up and repeating the cycle. As a result, the rest of the family had taken turns sitting with her until she calmed herself down, which meant none of them had gotten a proper night's sleep.
Around the 3am mark, Jaya had suggested they make a game plan for finding Tykey. They had decided that they would split off into groups; Jaya and Camryn would take Megan shopping in the village, and see if they could find a new Tykey who could at least help Megan sleep at night, whilst Ruby and Kori would search for the real one. The girls retraced their steps and came to the conclusion that the only place Megan could have lost Tykey was while they were at the beach.
“You know, come to think of it,” Kori called across to her girlfriend as she searched through the bushes and small dunes near the edge of the beach. “I’m pretty sure I saw Megan drop Tykey when she came running at us after we’d gone to collect moat water. Did she ever pick him back up?” Ruby looked up from the rock pools she was looking in and thought for a second.
“Honestly? I don’t know.” She said with a shrug. “Though thinking about it, I don’t remember her having him at any other point in the day. But at the same time, she has him with her so much none of us really think about it any more. We just kind of assume he’s there.”
“I’m guessing that rule applies to Megan too.” Kori said with a laugh “It took her all day to realise he was even gone.”
“That happens more often than you think.” Ruby laughed, “Most days she’ll leave him somewhere in the flat, and then a few hours later realise he isn’t still under her arms like he was earlier.”
Kori laughed and carried on her search. Ruby looked over at her with a worried look. She took a deep breath and made her way over to where Kori was still looking through the bushes, humming a random song as she went.
“Hey…” Ruby placed a hand on Kori’s shoulder, getting her attention. Kori looked up and saw Ruby was avoiding her eyes and had a guilty look on her face.
“What’s up?” Kori stood up, giving Ruby’s hand a gentle squeeze.
“I’m sorry we’re not looking for King Arthur’s treasure right now. I know how important that was to you.” Ruby said, disappointment in her voice.
“Hey, family comes first, you know that,” Kori said with a serious tone, lifting Ruby’s face to look at her. Ruby smiled,
“You’re my family too.” She said, leaning in to give Kori a kiss. When they parted, Kori’s cheeks were bright red, and the two giggled.
“I love you too, but right now your sister’s happiness, and our sleep patterns, are on the line.” Kori said with a smile, “We’re here for a week. The sooner we find Tykey, the more time we have for other stuff.”
“Okay,” Ruby said with renewed determination. “In that case, we should probably start looking in the sea. Chances are Tyke got caught up with the tide and is sitting on the seabed somewhere.”
“Ooh, good thinking!” Kori’s eyes lit up. “I think the beach shop in the village sells swimming goggles and cheap scuba masks we can use to look!”
“Awesome!” Ruby replied. The pair high fived and ran back towards the village.
Meanwhile, in the local toy shop, Jaya, Camryn, and Megan were still searching for another Tykey.
“Where did you say you got the first one from again, J?” Camryn asked her wife, who was looking at a shelf of pull-along ducks.
“I don’t know, it was this old toy shop somewhere in London. I was teaching a piano lesson nearby and on my way back to the tube station I saw Tyke sitting in the window,” she said, turning to face Camryn. “Besides, that was years ago now, who knows if they even make them anymore.”
“What kind of toy was he?” The clerk at the till chimed in. She was a kind-looking elderly lady and had greeted them with a smile and a wave when they had first entered the shop. “Sorry, I don’t mean to eavesdrop, but I thought I might be able to help. I’ve owned this shop for almost twenty years now, and I have three children of my own, so I know a thing or two about toys,” she said with a smile. Jaya looked over at Camryn, who gave a small shrug, and a look of encouragement. Jaya smiled and turned back to the woman at the counter.
“We’re looking for a wooden pull-along triceratops. Ours was blue, with a white horn. Any chance you know it?” The lady thought for a moment before answering.
“Can’t say I’ve seen one like that. We get all the newest toys here, and all the pull-along dinosaurs we’ve ever gotten have been T-Rex’s.” She said apologetically.
“Oh, he definitely wasn’t new when I bought him. Even back then he looked quite worn and used. Nowhere near as much as he did nowadays,” Jaya said with a small laugh. “Then again I think most of the toys in that shop looked like that. It was probably a vintage toy store.”
“Oh! Well, why didn’t you say so!” The elderly woman said with a laugh, “If it’s a vintage toy you’re after, you should head across the street to the toy museum. If anyone will know anything about it it’s them!” Jaya’s eyes lit up at her words.
“Thank you so much, we’ll head straight there! You ready Megan?” She picked up the toddler, who had gotten distracted by the toys surrounding her, and with Camryn in tow, the three of them made their way to the museum.
Once inside, they looked around them in awe. The walls were filled with hundreds of different toys and collectables, both on display for the museum, and on sale in the shop. Camryn turned to look at Jaya.
“I take back what I said about nursery. This is Megan’s idea of heaven!” Just as she had said her name, Megan began trying to wriggle free of Jaya’s hand, reaching out towards the shelves of toys for sale.
“Mummy, look! Want to go look!” She said, pulling harder.
“Okay, okay, let’s go!” Jaya said with a laugh. “You okay to ask about Tyke?” she added, turning back to Camryn.
“Yeah, of course!” Camryn said with a smile and made her way over to the counter, where a middle-aged man was selling some old toy cars to a family. Once they had left, Camryn approached the man with her friendliest smile.
“Hi, I was wondering if you could help me. My daughter lost her favourite toy yesterday, and my wife and I are trying to find a new one for her. Problem is we think it’s either pretty old, or rare, or maybe even both.” The man smiled back at her
“No problem, this happens all the time. Let me guess, the woman from the toy shop across the street sent you?” He replied with a laugh. “She does that a lot, thinks I’m some toy expert just because I’m a collector. But I’ll do my best. What kind of toy are you after?”
Camryn described Tyke, right down to the little details, and told him the story of how Jaya came to find him one day in London. “And since then Megan, my daughter, has gotten so attached to him that she can’t sleep properly without him. In other words, we’re pretty desperate.” She finished with an awkward laugh. The man at the counter looked mildly confused for a split second, before answering.
“Well, I can tell you right away that we don’t have anything like that here. I don’t think I’ve heard of a toy like that, but you might have more luck looking on something like eBay. I can load it up now if you like?” He said, gesturing to the computer next to him. Camryn’s face fell slightly.
“Thanks, but don’t worry about it. I’ll have a look when we get back h-” Suddenly a small shriek of excitement filled the small shop. Jaya popped her head up from where she stood between the shelves with a smirk on her face.
“I think you might want to come see this Cammie,”.
***
The door to the cottage opened, and Ruby and Kori trudged through it carrying scuba masks, both looking exhausted. Their jeans were splashed with seawater, and their hair was soaked through.
“Hey girls!” Jaya called from the kitchen table, where she and Camryn sat drinking tea. “How was the search?” The girls looked over at her with their tried eyes.
“I mean we didn’t find him and our clothes are cold and wet, so I’d say it didn’t go too great,” Ruby said grumpily. It was then that she noticed how calm and peaceful the house was. “Wait, it’s quiet in here.”
“Too quiet,” Kori added in suspiciously. She looked over at Jaya and Camryn, a hopeful look on her face. “Does that mean you found him??”
Camryn took a sip from her mug, “Go and see for yourselves.” she said, gesturing upstairs. Ruby and Kori took off up the stairs, and gently opened Megan’s door. Inside, they found the toddler snuggled up in bed, her arms around a toy. The toy in question, however, wasn’t Tyke. Instead, Megan was cuddling a blue plush T-Rex. The girls looked at each other in confusion, closed Megan’s door again, and made their way back to the kitchen.
“I know I haven’t seen him in a day or so, but that didn’t look like Tykey,” Kori said when they were back with Jaya and Camryn.
“Yeah, that’s Tykey 2.0,” Camryn said with a laugh.
“Megan found him at the toy museum, she screamed bloody murder when she saw him,” Jaya added.
“So she moved on, just like that?” Ruby asked, still confused. “And we spent all afternoon searching the seabed for nothing?”
“She’s 2, of course she found something new so quickly!” Camryn replied, still laughing. “I wouldn’t say she’s moved on though, just enough that we can all sleep soundly tonight.”
“As for you girls searching, it does look like it was a wasted journey, sorry,” Jaya said with a sympathetic smile. “How about we get some chips for tea, as a thank you?” Ruby and Kori’s faces lit up at this, and they gave a cheer.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” Jaya said with a laugh. She got up from her chair and grabbed her purse. “Alright, who wants what?”
“It’s okay mum, we’ll go get them!” Ruby volunteered.
“Yeah, so you can eat half of them on the way home!” Camryn muttered into her mug, arching a brow at the girls.
Ruby and Kori took the orders, and without stopping to change their clothes, made their way back down the path towards the village.
“So…” Kori started, a smirk on her face. “Now that the Tykey thing has been sorted, I guess we should find something else to do this week.”
“And what did you have in mind?” Ruby smirked back.
“Oh, nothing much, just a little treasure hunt,” Kori said, putting an arm around Ruby’s shoulders. The two laughed, and walked off, hand in hand.

Cassie x Amon Headcanons Part 2: The Prison Break
Tumblr media
Continuing from where I left off last time:
-Amon goes to visit Cassie in prison and apologizes to her there (might as well write something based off on that) Best part? Sobek was not with him when he did this.
- Cassie then discovers a big secret of Amon’s that no one ever knew about except the Shazam family and is actually one of the burning questions the Team had about him and that is the fact that in civilian form, Amon is a paraplegic and he almost always is in his Osiris form because it is the only way he can walk.
- Cassie begins to feel pity for the boy as he can only imagine how it would feel to be in his shoes.
-The two have a long conversation about their families and growing up and learn so much about each other
-Amon sympathizes with Cassie in regards to her low self esteem as the poor girl and her twin Tatiana are victims of severe bullying and one could argue that her being Wonder Girl was a form of escape from the harsh reality that is her life. Her mother Helena Sandsmark’s constant absences due to her line of work did not help matters either and it often caused friction between Cassie and her mum since she is the more outspoken twin.
- When Amon leaves, he secretly goes to speak to Adam and begs him to get Cassie released. Adam at first is hesitant but he is somehow able to force the Gateway City Police Department to release Cassie, a decision that generates controversy within the superhero community and thee world generally as Cassie gets treated like a pariah. This naturally turns the League and the Team against the Black Adam family as a result
- The only ones that are supportive of the Black Adam Family and Cassie are Kori, Donna, Raven, Tatiana, Garfield, M’Gann, Kaldur, Bart, Barry, Wally, Dick, Billy and Mary Baston, Garth,Damian, Jason, Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, J'onn J'onzz and the entire Arrow family
- Those that are in support of them use the hashtag #TeamCassieFC
-They later expose information that slowly turns the tide in Cassie and the Black Adam Family’s favour
- Those against them are naturally rattled by this and begin to send online hate towards Cassie.
- Amon shuts them all down with one epic tweet that made Adam so proud
- The villains use the Cassie controversy to their advantage and begin to launch a series of vicious attacks on the girl
- The other heroes rally around her and help her to fight off the villains.
- However during this period, her powers begin to weaken
End of Part 2

Titans 1x08 review
Me after watching episode 8 of Titans;
Tumblr media
FIRST OFF. DOMESTIC DICK AND KORY WAS EVERYTHING TO ME, OKAY. HER SLEEPING IN HIS SHIRT, HIM WATCHING HER SLEEP AND THEN TALKING WITH HER ABOUT HER NIGHTMARE, THEM BOTH AGREEING ON PUTTING THEIR “SOMETHING” ON A BACK BURNER FOR NOW UNTIL THEY BOTH FIGURE OUT WHO THEY ARE. Omgggg, one thing I find sweet is that whenever Kory is upset she turns away from Dick, I really need - once they get together officially, for Dick to notice this. ALSO DICK REACHING FOR HER WHEN SHE GOT UP FROM THE BED, WHEW MY HEART. MY HEAAAARTTTT. This ship literally sails itself and I cannot wait for the moment when they fully decide to do it for real real.
I thought I’d be annoyed at Dick leaving but it kinda makes sense. When he’s with the Titans he assumes the father role, the one who takes care of things and so given that now he’s lost he kinda needs to be taken care of. WHICH LEADS ME TO DONNA WHO IS AN ANGEL, SWEETPIE, LOVE OF MY LIFE, who I love completely. Their sibling relationship had me chuckling and it was so good to see Dick being the young, immature (kinda) one. Poor bby needs to work on his small talk skills too, but it made me giggle. God Brenton is just too damn fine.
Kori and Gar, their relationship is great. I love it, I love that Kori was the one to talk to Gar about what went down and assure him that he shouldn’t feel bad for defending himself. I love that Gar noticed something wasn’t right with Kori but didn’t push it, those two always deliver in their scenes together and their relationship is one of my faves. This mother and son duo >>>>
The flashbacks we saw of Kori and Anna really sold her as someone who was frustrated at not being able to remember, I love how she took care of the people on the train and showed them that she is not to be fucked with. I AM EXTREMELY WORRIED ABOUT THE ENDING, OBVIOUSLY I KNOW SHE WON’T HURT RACHEL BUT WTFFFFFFFFF? I also love how Dick immediately said that Kori was meant to take care of Rachel not harm her. He knows his wife. Also, small disclaimer, if I see anyone bashing Kori or starting to hate her because of what went down, best believe I’ll start cussing you. She has been a mother to those kids and I really hope people remember that, I also hope the team try and reason with her and help her, not just get all angry and defensive.
Rachel and her mum, their scenes together were sweet. I also enjoyed Rachel hugging Dick even though she was hurt by him leaving, those two have such a tight relationship that she could instantly tell he was gonna leave by the way he was silent at the breakfast table.
Me looking at the promo for the Hawk and Dove episode next week, knowing full well I wanna see what goes down with Kori;
Tumblr media
I mean don’t get me wrong, I like Hawk and Dove but that cliffhanger. Whew lord, these cliffhangers gonna make me kill somebody!!!

Beach Holidays in Kenya What You Should Know
Making a trip to any holiday destination in the world with youngsters will be challenging, particularly if your core focus is to rejuvenate. Lol, I hadn't noticed Damian looked like he was glaring at Wally in that new DC crisis. I guess he's still not over feeling antagonism against his favorite sibling's best friend. As a DickKori fan I adore that little hug. Dick looks so protective there. My DC otp. Too bad King thinks only Bab's is Dick's one true love (no offense against DickBab's but DC has killed any chance of me liking it a long time ago after I researched it) so he'll find a way to push it but not let them be together. =/
Speaking of DickBab's, why does DC push them only to constantly break them up before they can even get together? At least DickKori had a LONG comic history of being together as a couple and in other medias too (Teen Titans, Injustice, Animated movies). There's also the fact Kori acts more compatible on her own while older Bab's has to be changed for Dick (and she clearly is fine being single. Does Bab's need/want a guy?). I don't get this DickBab's push while also implying failure for them.
Yeah I’m not real sure why they’re so adamant about pushing them together? Especially because even in their pushing - they’re continuing to make it just so clear why they’re so not great for each other. Not to say Dickkory - also my otp - is perfect, they also had some shitty ass moments together. Not to mention Dick treats both of them hella poorly, and really deserves neither until he can figure himself out.
And yeah - but not just Babs, why do ANY of the three need to be in a relationship to be worth anything in comics? Let them be heroes! Let them be their badass selves! Sure have their friendships but why we gotta waste pages with ‘oh she/he’s hot; will they/won’t they’ trash when I just want to see them all being snarky a-holes and also great mums and/or daddo. specifically to damian and jon haha. but mostly cool badasses and stuff. get rid of the constant romance 2k18.
