so ive started a new studying mether in which i read up till a cliffhanger in the fic i'm in rn and then i have to do a civics lesson before i read the next chapter and then another cliffhanger happens and i do another civics lesson, i've gotten through 3 lessons in the past two hours

Almost Parent Material

When Dan and Ellie decided to change the titles from "cousin" and "acquaintance from another reality" to "father," Danny could honestly say he panicked. He wasn't a teenager anymore but he wasn't sure if he wanted kids; well, it's not like he had much of a choice.

Maybe it was a ghost thing but the moment Dan and Ellie (kids, his kids) said those words, something inside his core froze, in a good way, it was a comfortable, comforting cold, like a Christmas morning.

The problem was that while the situation made him extremely happy, Danny didn't know how to be a father, and the Fentons were horrible references. So he made the most logical leap: online forums.

He found himself chatting with an online user named KNight quite frequently, he seemed to have also been thrown into early parenthood a couple of years ago and was still struggling with it, but overall he had a couple of good tips.

KNight soon transitioned to Bather and then just Bruce, every time Danny talked to him it felt like they were a couple of little old ladies gossiping. Between the random chatter and the parenting advice he was actually having fun.

So, when Bruce invited him over to his house two years later to officially meet, Danny naturally panicked. Dan and Ellie were laughing at him in the background, the little shits.

#just... ugh! im so frustrated nd need to vent a bit #sadly.. smth i havent accepted yet is that having avpd will be constant thru my life and it will have ups and downs #i had a pretty long run of not being *that* avoidant #for 2 weeks now i'm back in that suuuuuper avoidant place #like super avoidant. i dont even go for walks or go to the grocery store. or send emails to my teachers (important!!!!)#i cant look at anything thats important. i dont even clean my room T-T #this is the 2nd week im skipping school which is v bad. nd i havent done anything on my assignment in the course i need to finish in march #i dont open messages or reply to anyone bc i just cant it gives me too much anxiety #im simply avoiding EVERYTHING #and it's such an awful place to be stuck in i hate it so so so so much #worst part is I HAVE NO FKN IDEA HOW TO BREAK FREE!!!!!!!#i've never gotten any treatment for my avpd nd there is actually no information or research online so idk how to handle it #i just wait and simmer in this fkn.... sucky ass soup mess nd wait nd wait #until suddenly it just loosens nd i can start doing things here nd there #the problem is. i dont rlly have time #i dont have time to sit and wait!!! i have time sensitive responsibilities that i risk ruin if i dont do them #i just have no idea HOW to do anything rn. bc it doesnt work to just force myself to do them #it doesn work to make lists or schedules #it suxxx that there isnt rlly any treatment or accessible tips for how to deal w avpd bc im rlly...#im alone... out in the open sea... no one around as far as the eye can see... no life raft. no help skskksks #anyway #ig all i can do is wait nd *try* to do small things as much as i can nd hope i'll get less avoidant soon #i just hate this so much. i always feel so awful nd terrible nd it's so bad ugh

anyone have advice on learning a language when you don't have anyone to speak it with

#my only language learning experiences have been very structured + in a school setting #and im very unlikely to find someone to practice this with (like. im not going to look for people online)#(id really only be ok with practicing with someone i know bc i have The Anxiety)#(and also i am nowhere NEAR far enough along to need actual practice)#but just like. general tips if yall have them #ways to practice. im following along with a textbook so there's some structure there but no way to like. hold myself accountable u know #bel speaks #maybe eventually i'll feel ok finding a practice buddy but that's not an option atm

Started playing Pathologic (Classic HD) last night because I find the near certainty of my failure relaxing (no expectations). Was shocked to find that I survived day one, despite wasting so much time on bullshit such as:

Trying to figure out how THE FUCK to take a weapon out and use it after equipping it (no it's not by pressing the sheathe button, no it's not by pressing the attack button, no it's not by using the inventory, but a secret fourth thing (press tab))

Murdering some guys who were chasing and attacking some woman (every time I killed one, I heard children crying, which I assume is the sound of my reputation suffering due to me murdering people)

Trying to recall which key opens which menu. No, there is not one master menu where I can see the different menus and get to them that way.

Trying for WAY TOO LONG to climb a ladder which is most likely unclimbable.

Deciding to play a platforming game inside Baby Vlad's secret lair for absolutely no reason except curiosity and then to look into the well (also for no reason).

CHASING DOWN and talking to EVERY FUCKING CHILD to see if they've got the LETHAL DRUGS they plan to consume as part of a "GAME" after being told confiscating them is the only way to protect them (according to some kid in a dog mask) only to discover that NONE OF THEM HAD ANY (even though some did before the quest started) and in fact the only way to complete the quest is to give a single sample (found in the house) to the quest giver. This annoyed me a bit, ngl.

Trying painted on doors and being fucking confused when certain characters didn't appear in the house I was told they'd be in, only to discover that I couldn't use the doors INSIDE the houses and instead had to LEAVE and go round looking for more doors OUTSIDE to access other rooms in the house and find other characters.

Trying to fill my empty bottles at a fountain only to start DRINKING THE WATER and watching helplessly as my exhaustion increases.

Climbing up stairways into literal nothingness simply to indulge my curiosity (and hear the sweet sweet sounds of children crying, as usual).

Most fences are marked on the map. Occasionally, they aren't and you will reach a dead end where you can SEE, even TOUCH the house you're looking for but have to search for a way around to reach the door (as your time trickles away and your exhaustion steadily rises).

Just standing there WAITING for Georgiy to let me examine the body in the evening, at the time he'd said I could (eleven o'clock). I even had a dialogue choice where I told him I'd get evidence from the body so I assumed I'd need to complete the examination with Rubin that night in order to complete the day's mission (and not die). Eventually, my exhaustion levels got super high and it was past 11 so I just went to bed and it was like, "GOOD JOB!" so I guess I was wrong. Apparently, if you get there at nine and speak to Rubin, that's all that's needed, I GUESS. Okay, this annoyed me a bit.

I also do a lot of very slow walking around looking at things (and trying to activate them) in games but, in spite of all this, I did manage to complete the first day and did not DIE so perhaps this game is more forgiving than I had thought (at least at first). I was fully convinced I was going to die when Katerina told me I had to solve the murder in the next few hours (each hour is FIVE MINUTES) or be DOOMED but it was fine. It gave me the fix I needed and I had a good time.

Will I go back and finish it? Maybe I will play a bit more but if it keeps giving me times and instructions and then completely disregarding them, I might get frustrated.

They all look horrifying.#I may have actually already screwed myself because I spent all day chasing quests and fannying about #So I didn't buy any food and I saw someone say that the price of food goes up TEN TIMES now...#I did FIND some #And I completed all the quests I encountered so I got some STUFF #But I didn't buy anything because I was doing other stuff and also have no idea of what's useful to me and what isn't...#And I didn't know the price of food would go up that much on day 2 obviously #I went into this game completely blind #but did look up some stuff (like how to take my FUCKING GUN OUT) while I was playing #I also checked online before sleeping that I really didn't need to examine the body (that's where I saw the tip about buying food on day 1)#I spent plenty of time rummaging in BINS #Is water important? Who knows? I have lots though. I found so many empty bottles.#Maybe I will keep going just to see how far I can get

#I haven't been online much #i live on discord and my mental health has been declining by the day #i hate the people that are supposed to be my friends in uni #and I hate myself for keeping up this act that I don't #im anxious all the time and I feel like depression is for real approaching #im going to the uni therapist in a few weeks as I decided that it might be good to get tips on being stable #i made an appointment when I was doing well three or four weeks ago #well this week was the intake meeting and bro bro I can't believe myself #i spent a year crying and growing and healing and everything and Im still at this shitty place #and the worst is that I know I have grown and that I am doing much better but I don't see any results #I don't necessarily feel better in my skin because I haven't struggled eith my body since high school #yeah I guess I know self worth now but do I still hurt myself by staying in that friend group yes #yeah Im more confident asked many people out but I have gotten to date two which you couldn't even call date 2 #well here I am still fucking crying about the same things #i guess life is like that but I'm just as sick of this life as I am of my anxiety #already cancelling plans and things I wanna do because of anxiety #so just fuck my life Im the only one standing in my way but im the biggest obstacle #will I ever be good? i guess we will see
