kind of a wholesome ask. let’s say mc wanted to surprise the ro’s by baking them something from scratch. however when it’s presented to them mc is really sad bc they didn’t turn out well (burnt, undercooked, etc.) how would they react? would they still eat it? push through to make mc happy?

Mars — Would probably say something along the lines, "Darling, I love you, but that is inedible. How about we take baking classes together with a professional chef?" Of course, they would not eat it hahah.

Archon — Archon would look at the MC and at the cake, shifting their eyes nervously between one and the other, but would eventually cave in and just eat. They can't get sick anyway, so it would only taste bad.

Zodiac — I think Zodiac would push through and eat the whole thing, making an inhuman effort to appear as if they were eating pure ambrosia, until they started coughing uncontrollably.

Ace — They would fold in half if the MC made puppy eyes at them, no way in hell would they be able to resist them, but they would eat a small portion of it and then plan a cooking date where they would teach the MC how to bake properly.

Stardom — Stardom would silently pray to all the deities they know to give them strength because they are not about to back down from making the MC feel proud of something they did. Thank God they are a good actor / actress.

Wildcat — They wouldn't eat it, no matter much they love the MC, and not even shifting between wildshapes would be enough to open their appetite. They would instead invite the MC out for a simple Brazilian takeout joint they recently discovered close to the tower.

Paladin — They would try their hardest to keep their expression as neutral as possible, even if the smell of burnt cake assaulted their nostrils. They would have the great idea to borrow one of Zodiac's cooking books and invite the MC to bake a cake together. They are great at following instructions.

yay for the hades fandom getting hyped up! your self-aware concept for this game is genuinely fantastic, i can't get enough of it. i really can't think of sufficient praise, you characterize everybody so well, it meshes wonderfully with canon.

how about a scenario for zagreus (+ other characters of your choice) reacting to the player/reader coming back after a long period of inactivity? or how they felt during said absence?

(totally not inspired by me not touching the game for almost a year until this recent technical test came out, hahah)

This is just a quick overview of the House of Hades members and the Olympians, not the side characters. If you want me to cover them I will in another post.

The members of the House of Hades are the most worried when it comes to your inactivity, mainly because it affects Zagreus. Escape attempts don't stop just because you're not there, but it's obvious that he's a mess. He is short with people, more aggressive, and is getting himself killed more and more. Most of the occupants don't say anything, mainly out of fear for what the prince might do. But others, like Achilles, are more willing to point out his poor behavior. It's like he's a child who's lost his favorite toy. Achilles of course, also senses your absence, but he chooses to remain hopeful. This isn't the first time this has happened, you tend to come and go as you please, but you eventually come back. He can't help but worry though, maybe something has happened to you, maybe your absence is more permanent this time. He chooses not to think about that too often. Others like Nyx and Hades are more neutral about your absence, they are like Achilles in the sense that they try not to think about it too much, but in reality it's more complicated then they'd like to admit. They are both ancient beings, and it's worrying to see someone worm their way into their consciousness so easily. Love isn't the correct word, they can't exactly explain how they feel, but your absence has made them think more and more about what you mean to them, and it grows deeper and deeper every single day. Thanatos and Hypnos are more observant than others would think. They both sense the change in Zagreus pretty early on and are able to trace it back to the lingering presence of you. They learned early on that you were mysterious, your presence almost distant in a way. It was hard for them to feel you in the way Zagreus did, so when you left they didn't notice at first. It wasn't until the prince started acting up that they realized something must've changed. Hypnos attempts to distract Zag from everything through jokes and teasing, while Thanatos tends to be more blunt, demanding that Zag fix his attitude, however, while doing this, they're both struggling with lingering thought of you, wondering where you went and how you're faring . Others like Meg and Dusa are even affected by it, Meg especially. She's often more subjected to Zagreus's bad moods than others, since he becomes more brutal in his escape methods. Dusa already does everything in her power to avoid the prince, so lucky she isn't really facing Zagreus often. 

Once you return, things go relatively back to normal. Things are definitely still different, namely people are now more aware what the consequences are for you leaving. Zagreus makes an attempt to apologize for his--less than normal behavior, but for most it's already forgiven. None of them are exactly normal when you're gone, the House is hollow and clearly missing something. For a while, many of them assume it's Zagreus, his sudden shift affecting the mood of the House. Eventually they realize that it's deeper than that, and that you are at the center of it all. Many of them wonder if you're even aware of what is going on when you leave, if you're aware of the mess you leave them in. Regardless, it doesn't matter much once you're back. They all put in an effort to make everything seem normal in the hope that you won't leave again, or at least for not nearly as long. 

The Olympians

The Olympians have a much more different opinion on your absence. I don't know if I explained this anywhere, but in my head, the Olympians have a closer connection to you because of their ability to give Zagreus boons. These affinities become temporarily a part of Zagreus, and so it's a strange way of bringing you closer to them, since technically your presence is strongest in Zagreus. I don't know if I explained this well, but all you need to know is that they sense your absence much sooner, possibly right after Zagreus. Some of them, namely the older ones such as Zeus and Poseidon are less worried about your absence. Honestly, they find it funny how worried Zagreus is for you, this isn't the first time you've gone away, you should be back soon. The Olympians have a small scene of your otherworldly presence, and so are kinda able to assume that this is more than just randomly disappearing. Hermes and Dionysus take a more playful outlook, believing that it's a trick you're playing on all of them. Again, the Gods have more of a laidback outlook, if they thought you were in any danger they would act. The rest are more or less neutral about your disappearance, more worried about how it affects Zagreus. He's reckless, and while that means more fun for them, it means that he's more likely to die over and over and over, and no one wants to see that happen to family, even it they're used to it. 

Even though the Olympians are neutral about you being gone, they are overjoyed to see you back. I imagine that they are the few in game characters where it's obvious they are addressing you, the others are more subtle. So once you return they are actively addressing you. They know you aren't going to respond, so they don't do this often, but it's good to know you're back. At least now Zagreus will be getting back to normal.

Jinx and Silco had taken you in when you were young, maybe nine. Jinx had lived with Silco for not long now and hadn't settled but found you, a street kids precence soothing, she would seek you out to play together and bring you back to Silcos home to eat and sleep. And at some point you simply didn't really leave, Silco accepted you though you were never as close to him as he and Jinx were. And you weren't really as extrodanary as Jinx was, you didn't have any extensive skill in explosives, or war and though it was never said, you did feel useless, like dead weight. so you fought you'd find a way around it, a way sourced to you in the city, a constant prescene and a unstopping force in Zaun that turned average men in to beats and rage and later deform them and shrivel them up into only skin and bone, so you sourced it out, behind Silco and Jinx back of course.

So you started Micro dosing, just a few drops at any given time where you wanted to feel that pep of energy, you would find some where private, like your room that wasn't really private since Jinx would enter whenever she liked, or sometimes would sleep in your bed without you knowing and take out that one vile in your left pocket that you had been working on for the last few weeks, press the top of the vile on your finer, and then take that drop or purple liquid and press it on your tongue to feel that rush, that feeling of elecitricty running down from your mouth and across your spine setting you free from your uselessness.

And though Jinx may not have noticed, Sevika did.

She noticed the shakes, the paranoid looks around the room and massive weight loss, and she thought to tell Jinx, not to be kind, but to be a bit cruel. So she entered Jinx's lair, a extremely unusual occaronace, Jinx didn't notice her until she sat down next to her.

Jinx: "...Sevika?"

Sevika: "Hey"

Jinx: "...Hey? What brings you to by humble abode huh?"

Sevika: "I see Y/n's not here, you know where she is?"

Jinx: "No, but she's probably in her room or just hanging round Silco, Y'know, why?"

Sevika: "You notice anything...different about her recently?"

Jinx: "Youre being reeaally criptic Sevika, I don't like that" She said leaning away from her with her frog goggles.

Sevika: "She's always cold, always shaking, acting strangely don't ya think"

Jinx: "What are you getting at?"

Sevika: "I think she's using, Jinx"

Jinx: "Using, like shimmer?"

Sevika: "She's got all the signs of microdosing"

Jinx: "HA! You gotta be kidding, she would never do something like that with out telling me!"

Jinx: "Excuse me?" She said standing up, and stepping up to Sevika.

Sevika: "I'm just saying, if you paid attention you would see she's falling off, and you two were as close as you think, she would tell you that she's using"

And so she did, she left without another word as Jinx stood motionless in her lair, glaring out into the darkness over analizing every single recent interaction.

Jinx: "She's not using, she' s just saying that to be cruel" but what if she is

Jinx: "No, NO! I would notice! I know what using shimmer looks like, I WOULD KNOW" so why is she avoiding you?

Jinx: "Avoding me? She's not avoiding me she's just busy! Why would she be using any ways, she has everything she could ever need, she has me! and she would never do that to me, and definetley not behind my back! hahah, No no no that's silly" What if she ends up like those bums down in the gutter

Jinx: "No, No that's not gonna happen baecuse she's NOT using!" What if she ends up like vander

Jinx: "NO!" She screamed pulling at her braids.

Maybe she's lying to you, maybe she's using to escape you maybe she wants to leave, she probably rather be high than with you

Jinx: "SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" She shriked into the void.

She'll be one of those scroungers begging for food shrivled and dying, covered in filth and all baecuse of you.

Jinx: "NO NO NO! No NO NO" She pulled herself into the fetal position rocking back and fourth so sooth the terrible thoughts again and again, she had to talk to Silco about it.

And so, later that day she bursted into his office, sitting on his desk while his chair faced her, looking out the window.

Jinx: " Sevika came to see me today"

Silco:"...At your lair? odd, Why?"

Jinx: "She said...She said Y/n was...microdosing"

Silco: "Shimmer?"

Jinx: "Yeah shimmer what else?! And I was like She's not using that's silly and she was like 'maybe your not as close as you think you are' You know all Sevika like so I-"

Silco: "Jinx, your starting one of your ramblings again"

Jinx: "Oh Yeah yeah sorry" She giggled to herself

Jinx: "Have you noticed anything off about her recently?"

Silco: "Well, she is spending less time with us than usual, I suppose it is possible"

Jinx: "But she wouldn't...She wouldn't!"

Silco: "Jinx, Instead of spinning yourself into a frenzie, go check her room for anything susbicious, anything strange"

Jinx: "But...What if I find something?" She whispered.

Silco: "we'll figure it out"

So Jinx found herself in your room scanning over how messy it was, how much dust had collected and how the windows where musted over, as she began to go through your wardrobe, throwing out you clothes onto the bed until it was bare, going through all your draws and vanity until she had basically destroyed the place with all your things stroon about the room. She huffed to herself wondering where, if not here it could be, until she was the glint in the corner of her eye, she swivled around to the air vent where something shined in the reflection of the sun. Jinx, being for to short to simply grab it pushed your vanity to step on inorder to open the vent to find a small metal lock box, standing back down onto the floor the took a hair pin out and jimmied the lock only to reveal what she despratley wanted not be there.

Two Vials of shimmer, she felt herself shake with rage and frustration, why would you do this, for how long were you doing this? In a flip act of rage she threw the box at the wall, casusing it to dent, holding the two vials in one hand so tightly they might shatter in her hand.

Now what are you going to do?

Hours later Jinx had found you back in the back room of that Last Drop like you often were, she heard you shuffling about as she slowly turned the handle to the room, with your back facing her as she entered silently as she watched silently while you again as so many times before took your half used vial, unscrewed the vial pressed the end onto your finger to rub the resedue onto your togue, but not before she stalked you from behind and placed a hand on your shoulder.

Jinx: "What are you doing?" She asked in her childishly calm voice.

Y/n: "I- I I'm Just, Jinx I-"

Jinx: "Oh Y/n" She sighed before whacking you over the head with her rifle, knocking you out.

Eventually when you woke, you found yourself in your bed, but not in your room...

You sat up to realise you were in Jinx's lair with your bed laying on one of the giant fan panneles, looking over at Jinx welding something with the sparks flying out in all directions.

Y/n: "Jinx?"

Jinx swiveled round in her stool smiling at you.

Jinx: "Your awake! I was worried maybe I hit you a bit to hard haha"

Y/n: "I- How did you"

Jinx: "So I found your stash"

Y/n: "Oh"

Jinx: "You thought you could hide that from me?"

Y/n: "Jinx I"

Jinx: "Ssssshh" She angrily shushed you, skipping over to your bed that had misteroulsy moved from your bed to here, flopping onto the covers climbing over you to trap you between the bed and her, staring you down.

Jinx: "How long have you been lying to me?"

Y/n: "Jinx please I"

Jinx: "nu uh, No No no" She placed her her finger over your lips.

Jinx: "No More talking, all you've done is lie to me" You winced ash she said it so aggressivly spit was coming onto your face.

Jinx: "Why would you do this? Why would you do this to me?! This is so selfish, I should have known, I don't know why I didn't see it, you were acting all sketch and going all quite and odd, I should have seen"

Y/n: "Jinx, I-I was only using so I could be..."

Jinx: "So you could what?"

Y/n: "I just wanted to feel strong, you know, like you"

Jinx: "HA! That's funny toots" She held your face squishing your cheeks together into a kissy face.

30 things to make life more memorable

Making memories is such a beautiful thing; what I had to understand is that those memories don't have to be major things like vacations or events. Small things, happy moments, and loving interactions are enough to make life more memorable. <3

Going for walks in the rain. I recently got caught in the rain while on a long walk with my dog, and we had so much fun!!

Exploring cozy coffee shops and cafes. One of my favorite weekend activities you can also read or study while there.

Turning off your phone. reconnecting and focusing on yourself.

Learning about things that you care about. Even if other people say it's a waste of time.

Celebrating the holidays more. I used to be a holiday hater until I just decided to go all out on holidays and celebrate them to the extreme; now I really look forward to them and love the planning process!!

Baking your own bread. Tried and failed many times, but when I succeed, the bread feels special and makes me a little bit proud.

Visiting museums and art galleries. You can also bring a sketchbook and collect inspiration (and look mysterious hahah).

Saying 'yes' to spontaneous ideas. Spontaneous adventures are always the most exciting ones.

Making a Bucketlist for each season. I'm currently working on my autumn bucket list, so stay tuned for that!! :)

Trying something new. I recently made ravioli from scratch and had such a good time; they also were delicious.

Watching sunrises and sunsets. A great way to catch a calm moment; I prefer sunsets.

Learning to be alone. Enjoying your alone time is so important; I love doing my skincare, writing my blog, watching cozy shows, and reading when I'm alone.

Going to a farmers market on the weekend. I have a tradition of having brunch with my dad on weekends, so I like to buy some fruits at the market for that!

Lighting scented candles and wear cozy knitted sweaters. I'm all about the cozy vibe; it makes me feel safe and comfortable.

Annotating books. Annotating while reading really helps to focus; you can also write down your thoughts while reading and look back at them later!

Cooking your own meals. It's such a simple and sweet act of self-care. You can also try making your own Jam or something.

Doing things that you enjoyed as a child. My favorites are horse riding, swimming, baking, and bubble baths.

Buying flowers for yourself. It doesn't have to be an expensive e and fancy bouquet, just some pretty flowers for your room.

Taking more Photos. You can also buy a cool vintage camera (I recommend looking on eBay!) to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

Trying crochet, knitting, or sewing. I'm trying to crochet a sweater for my dog right now, haha.

Planting a plant. I already told you about my avocado plant, but I really recommend it!

Making plans with your friends like going on a picnic. You could plan some themed picnics like cottagecore, homemade, food from your culture, strawberries, and so on; also a great opportunity to take some pictures!

Do volunteer work. You could help out at a shelter, for example.

Writing a diary. Writing down things that have happened and looking back at them feels really lovely to me.

Writing letters to your friends. Letters just feel more personal than text; you can also keep them as a memory.

Dressing in a way that makes you feel happy. Wearing outfits that make you feel confident will definitely make life better.

Petting stray cats. I love cats.

Starting to collect something. You could collect something small like jewelry or postcards!

Playing music in the background while doing stuff. I can't stop listening to the lofi girl stream on youtube, haha.

Going on gloomy walks in the Forrest. Name something more comforting. I will wait.

The Oxhead Tavern

So... I think I might have made my first gallery upload? 🤣 I really don't know what I'm doing hahah.

I'm not a builder by any stretch of the imagination, but recently I've really got into shell challenges because they're a nice way to unwind at the end of the day. I don't have to think about shape, I just decorate what's there. This one nearly defeated me because I struggled with the roofing, but I think it works as a wonky medieval tavern!

The original shell is by TheGoldenAge (ID: thegoldenage1) and I recommend checking them out because they make such beautiful builds! This challenge is running until December 31st so you have plenty of time to join in if you want to.

You had so many cute nicknames for him and everyone else called him things like ‘kiddo’ ‘rookie’ ‘freckles’ or just simply Ace.

So, when you are pissed at him, and scream down the length of the deck “Portgas D Ace!” he feels himself freeze in place, eyes wide open and jaw dropped.

Everyone around him does that typical ‘OOOOOOOOOOH’ and laughs at him for being in trouble.

Thatch will whisper into Ace’s ear ‘run’ but he’s too shellshocked by the use of his full name that you catch up to him in no time and grab him by his hat strings and yell at him about something.

Everyone teases him for days after.

Nothing strikes fear into Ace’s heart like that tone with his full name.

Kid

Consider a moment will you, that meme ‘one fear’ that is how Kid feels about the use of his full name.

He’s minding his own business, chilling with the rest of the crew, maybe you are all in a tavern enjoying a drink after Kid has chased most the other patrons out.

You are livid at some shit he’s pulled, and you stomp over to his table, slapping hands on the table and fixing him a look.

“Eustass Kid,” you growl, and everyone exchanges glances, looks at you, each other, Kid, it’s like the split-screen in anime where it shows everyone’s reaction as you full name the captain to death.

He’s glaring back at you, but you can tell he is running a mile in his mind ‘oh, fuck, what did I do now?’ and just sat there sweating.

The sound of everyone’s chairs squeaking against the floor as they all leave the scene.

Zoro

Just minding his own business, he either sat there having a drink or getting ready for a nap.

He’s all relaxed, eyes closed, taking a nice breath of the sea breeze.

“Roronoa Zoro!” he hears loudly, anger drenching your tone and for a moment the idiot forgets his own name.

‘Hahaha sucker’ he grins to himself before he feels your body blocking the sun, casting a shadow over his trying to nap form.

‘Oh, fuck, that’s me…’

You need to be faster than Zoro because he will try and throw himself off the side to avoid the conflict and hassle that your tone hints at bringing him.

Does not want to be around you when you full name his ass.

Law

Law is someone who never used his full name, not until recently.

He’s sat at his desk, leaning back in his chair and half paying attention to the book on his desk, flipping the page.

He hears the door to his room slam open, the loud clanging of metal on metal making him almost fall back from his chair.

The accompanying screech of “Trafalgar D Water Law!” has him furrowing his brows.

‘Who the FUCK?’ He asks himself for a moment before it clicks and he sits forward in his seat, an expression of annoyance at himself for being dumb.

Which is soon replaced by horror when you slam the door shut and he can feel your anger rolling off you in waves.

Law’s smart, he’s also good at avoiding problems he doesn’t want to deal with

He just ‘rooms’ you back out into the hallway, and you hear the door lock.

Golden white tears fell from her pure white eyes, the glow illuminating her face. Shad let out a low and gravely groan, his face contorting in pain and anger. He held the blade tightly, making his palms run red with thick hot blood. “Irene..” he growled “You fool.” Aphmau looked at him with sorrow as she drove her sword deeper. Shad cried out before continuing, “I’m the only.. thing- aghh- keeping them… ..alive..” Aphmau tilted her head in confusion. Before she could ask what that meant, Shad’s hand dropped from the sword and he lay lifeless on the ground. They’d done it. She’d done it. Shad was gone. For good. The world was finally free from his rein. Lina would be safe. But Aaron was gone, and he wouldn’t be coming back. Aphmau had hoped to find a way to save him, but in the end she figured he’d want this. Now he can be with his wife and child once more.

Slowly, Aphmau’s.. or rather.. Irene’s wings folded into her back and disappeared, the glow in her eyes faded back to their natural amber color, and the sword she’d used to end the battle dematerialized. She stood there for a moment, listening to the ringing in her ears, when she heard an unfamiliar voice call out. “WE’VE WON!! THE SHADOW LORD HAS FALLEN!!” followed by a couple dozen cheers from every which direction. She turned around to watch the Shadow Knights retreat. Something about them was different. Some of them gave up, allowing themselves to be killed or captured. Others ran into the trees. Some continued to fight, but the red and black shell that covered each of them retreated into their skin.

She took a couple deep breaths before preparing herself to walk towards the excitement, before hearing a familiar voice call her name. “Aphmau!” The voice, nasally yet strong, belonged to someone she’d lost long ago. She turned, before running into his arms. Laurance wrapped his arms around her tight as they fell to the ground laughing and crying. His face was hidden in the crook of her neck, but she could feel him shaking with sobs. “I’m free! Aphmau I’m finally free! Thank you! Thank you!!”Gentle as ever, she pulled away to look him in the face. His hair was longer and darker, pulled back into a messy ponytail. His face looked older, though not in age. He still wore the clothes she saw him in last, though they hadn’t aged a day. He looked at her with teary eyes and a goofy smile. “I’ve missed you so much.” She couldn’t muster more than a whisper, her voice catching in her throat. Laurance chuckled, “I’m sorry I’ve been away.” Aphmau held the back of his head as their foreheads met, “It’s alright..”

“Laurance?!” Laurance and Aphmau each looked towards the direction of the voice. A tall, fair haired man stood about 6 feet away. Laurance rose, holding Aphmau’s hand until he no longer could. “Garroth..” Laurance slowly walked towards the large man, before quickening to a jog, the man making his way towards Laurance as well. They hugged harshly, armor meeting flesh a bit more roughly than intended. But neither cared. They hugged and laughed before pulling away and looking at eachother for the first time in a long time. “You look older,” The brown haired man spoke, “thicker too.” he said poking jokingly at his belly, “Gasp! And is that a grey hair?!” “Hey! Hahah!” Aphmau caught up to the men and they hugged all together. “I’m glad you’re alright Garroth.” Aphmau beamed, “To you as well M’Lady.” Garroth’s spoke, his tone gentle and happy for the first time in a while.

That night a celebration was held in town. People drank, ate, and danced. But most importantly, they laughed. Not a single face was smileless. Even those who had been injured. They were all just so relieved to have this done with.

“Lina is with Hyria in her forest, it was the only place I could think of to keep her safe,” Aphmau held Laurance’s hand, “I can’t wait for you to meet her Laurance, she’s going to love you.. You’re going to love her.” Laurance squeezed Aphmau’s hand gently, “I know I will,” the smile on his face grew and he leaned his head on her shoulder, “I can’t believe we have a daughter.” “She’s so much like you.” “But I bet she has her mother’s spirit.” They laughed together, hoping to stay like this forever.

“Hey, where are you going?” Garroth asked Vylad softly, as he watched him walk off and away from the celebration. “I just need some alone time. Sorry it’s just.. I’m not used to being around this many people at one time. It’s a bit overwhelming… I’ll come back in a while.” Garroth pat Vylad’s shoulder before taking a step back. “I know you will.” Vylad nodded and made for the forest.

The night grew late as Laurance, Aphmau and Garroth walked towards the Inn they’d be staying at. They joked and laughed as they made their way there, when suddenly Laurance fell silent. He slowed a bit and his steps became sloppy. “Laurance..?” Aphmau turned to him. “Hey what’s wrong.?” “Aph I- AGH“ Laurance inhaled sharply before grappling for his head and falling forward. Garroth rushed to catch him, lowering him gently to the ground. “Is he having another episode?? That shouldn’t be possible right? With Shad dead-“ Aphmau dropped to her knees and practically crawled towards them. Laurance lay in Garroth’s arms, unconscious. “Aphmau he’s ice cold. This isn’t normal! Usually these episodes leave him feverish. I- Wait. Is he breathing?!” Aphmau panickedly lowered her head to his chest and listened intently. After what felt like ages, she rose again. “Barely.” Tears began falling from her face as her breaths quickened.

The door to the infirmary swung open and Garroth carried Laurance into the building, laying him gently on the nearest empty bed. Lucinda came quickly after hearing the noise. “Laurance? What happened to him?” “We don’t know! Lucinda please, can you help him?” Lucinda rushed to Aphmau, looking into her eyes mournfully before moving them to Laurance. She looked him over quickly, finding no such wounds that would leave him unconscious. “Aphmau… I think you need to see something.” Lucinda lead Aphmau into the next room, where a large man sat next to a small girl’s bedside. Eseryt. She was unconscious, pale, sickly looking. “Es- What happened? She was fine after the battle! I saw her talking and smiling and- She was fine!” “I know. We were talking when suddenly she doubled over and passed out. But she has no notable injuries.. She’s been unconscious for the past few half hour. Now, when did you say this happened with Laurance?” Lucinda spoke softly, as if to not disturb the already worried man, “..About half an hour ago..” Aphmau seemed to be piecing it together.. What ‘it’ was. “Aphmau.. I have a theory. I believe that Shad’s death may be the reason Eseryt and Laurance are suddenly unwell. They are both Shadow Knights..” Lucinda gently led Aphmau back into the first room and sat her down. “Both.. Shadow- gasp Has anyone seen Vylad!?” She suddenly shot out of her chair, turning to Garroth. “Wha- Vylad? He went into the forest about an hour ago. Why?” “Garroth, we need to find him. Right now.” She left without giving him the chance to ask why, and without hesitation, he led her to the direction in which Vylad left.

It didn’t take long to find him. Leaning against a tree, head down, hands folded neatly. He looked to be sleeping. As they stepped closer, they could see even in the moonlight that he was more pale than usual, almost sickly looking. Garroth knelt down, shaking him softly. “Vylad.?” He spoke, “Vylad. Please wake up. Hey.” Vylad lulled over onto his side, almost like he were dead. Garroth and Aphmau both gasped, before rushing to lift him off the ground. Garroth turned to Aphmau, tears already forming in his eyes. “Aphmau. What is happening?” “Garroth.. I don’t know. But I think this might be my fault.”

I recently found a kitten on the street and adopted it because it followed me all the way back home, now I have four cats hahah

The curious thing about this kitten is that his purr is very VERY very loud. I was very surprised the first time I heard it because it sounds like a growl, and when he eats he purrs at the same time and... idk it just sounds very cute and unique!

That made me think that foul legacy would do the same, happy little growls. He doesn't just growl when he's upset or angry nono. He'll growl when you pet his head or scratch him under his chin,, when he stretches after waking up from a long and warm little nap or when he eat his favorite food. Yes. Just happy little growls. <3

to some people Legacy's happy growls and threatening growls sound very similar, but you have a very easy way to tell the difference: the teeth. if your fluffy Abyssal moth is baring his fangs as he growls, that means he's very upset and feels threatened by something that needs to be taken care of immediately. if, however, his teeth aren't intentionally bared, only showing when he yawns or licks you face or nibbles your fingers, then he's calm and at ease with himself and his surroundings- and little happy growls are a treat only you get to hear. they come out when you scritch under his chin, Legacy leaning back more and more until he flops over onto your lap with a delighted rumble; when you find him asleep in the sunlight and tiptoe over, playfully nudging him awake so you can hear that tiny surprised growl that slips out; the long, drawn-out growl he makes as he nuzzles against your cheek every evening when you return home, lonely after a long day without you

like i said, Foul Legacy's sweet growls and purrs are only for you. around the few other people he trusts, he chirps and trills and chitters- but there are no happy growls. they only come out when he's really delighted, and that only happens when he's around you; curled around your body as you sleep, resting his chin on your shoulder, holding you as comfort when you feel down. occasionally he'll worry that the growling sounds will frighten you, make you think he's about to attack and tear at your flesh, so he'll lower himself to your height to try and look smaller, keeping the growls gentle and soft- but you're never afraid of him, just grinning and running into his embrace with a laugh, and Legacy spins you around with a strong purr and promptly licks you on the cheek <33

i go through phases with fanfiction, wavering between never reading any and then reading it consistently over a period of time. so my ao3 account only has bookmarks from the last year or so, so i’ll just include those! i did read some reeeally good fics for pairings that i was really into in the past, but i won’t include them here

as for my username, i used to have the apologist format with another character for my finsta, and i because obsessed over mu qing in my recent read through of tgcf. so i’ll defend him from the haters heh.

ok fics. no particular order.

1. Resurrection by heyholmesletsgo

one thing about me is that im going to eat up every songxiao fix-it fic i come across. this one i think follows the logic of the untamed rather than just mdzs, but i don’t think it’s a big change either way. this fic is so beautiful i thought about it for weeks afterward. it’s pretty short, but the slow, gentle pining as xiao xingchen returns to the world, the way they figure out communication, it’s all so good.

2. some new beginning by liesmyth

i got into good omens after season 2 being released this past summer, and i have to say the fics have been very hit or miss for me. the characterizations in fics are always some strange combination of characterizations of season 2 crowley and season 1 crowley and book crowley. this is post-season 1 though so this isn’t really an issue. i loved this one. i think my favorite form of aziracrow is when they’re both just idiots following the momentum of their feelings without really realizing the significance of their actions until, well, they live together hahah. highly recommend this one for that dynamic! it’s also pretty short.

3. Protagonist Rehabilitation Programme by cinnamonsnaps

this one i actually read entirely on my flight from japan last week after randomly stumbling across it. it’s an SVSSS AU where the original luo binghe transmigrates(?) into shen yuan’s world. im not usually a fan of AU fiction because i think much of the time, the events of the source material are very much what shape the personalities of the characters, but this one works for me. it’s so good at matching the tone and writing style of mxtx while being funny in its own way too.

4. hometown comforts by nyoomerr

this is another bingqiu one, post-canon, and it’s an identity reveal. it’s my ideal identity reveal fic because it’s incredibly low stakes and binghe is just curious about shen yuan’s world. no system warnings and stuff. just bonding. im a simple gal.

5. still waters by marichen

went through a beefleaf phase where i read a bunch of fics. this was the best one by far. unmatched. beefleaf, imo, is a very difficult couple to write for. there’s so much to unpack. it’s hard to make their relationship feel genuine because so much care needs to go into shi qingxuan trusting he xuan again. in this fic, it is the classic he xuan lingering around, but also we see sqx building his own life back up on his own, as well. it’s he xuan pov. so good so good.

6. Bring it back, bring it back [don’t take it away from me] by wednesdaisy

another good omens fic, also post-season 1, aziraphale pov. in this one, crowley fucks off to new zealand because he thinks his relationship with aziraphale is fantasy and it’s too painful to keep seeing him after everything they’ve been through. and aziraphale tracks him down and has to convince crowley that he does indeed want him in his life and loves him and ah, it’s really sweet.

7. the round moon by orphan_account and the hazy sun by orphan_account

this is a 2 part quanyin fic (pre-canon qyz for part 1, post-canon yin yu pov for part 2). i’m also incredibly picky about quanyin fics. this one was so beautifully done. it didn’t make quan yizhen feel overly-childish as an adult like many others do, and it made yin yu’s conflicting feelings about him so vivid and believable. highly recommend for quanyin nation out there.

8. This Is Me Trying by Piper_Emerald

another post-canon identity reveal. this one is a little more angsty than the one above but also so well done! a deep part of me needs an identity reveal to happen for them at some point hahaha…like binghe is smart ok…he suspects already.

9. some good mistakes by Lise

everyone forgive me for not really having any wangxian recs. my post-untamed fic phase was on my old ao3 account i can’t find. anyway, i remember this one being really good. wei wuxian goes missing. jiang cheng pov, teaming up with lan zhan to find wwx. post-canon untamed. personal preference but i love post-canon untamed wangxian fics the most because i just reading about all the ways they might get together.

10. Not Easily Conquered by dropdeaddream, WhatAreFears

(i keep getting error when i post the link but it’s on ao3)

i’m including this one because i’d be lying if it wasn’t always in my top 10. i never think about stevebucky these days and cannot stand marvel, but damn this fic holds up like 8 years later!! 3-parter, AU where steve never gets frozen but bucky is still the winter soldier. told over decades. some cringe US cold war propaganda but ignoring that…a beautiful story. if you ever carried any attachment for these two, worth the read.

So i read the first chapter of Pit Babe and it’s honestly not too different from the show so far.

Honestly nothing too outlandish so far. Pretty similar to the show. It’s an enjoyable read so far and the nc scene was fairly well written, even after translation.

The chapter is mostly about Babe and the introduction to his world. The race track is introduced and Way has to explain to a new employee that Babe will be there for the race, he just needs to “relax” first aka have sex. Like the show, Babe ends up rejecting the alpha and doing the race. He meets Charlie in the back after leaving before Way’s race and the usual appeal to Babe by Charlie to borrow his car happens. The locker room nc scene from the show is original. Babe and Charlie do not have sex at the track, rather Babe gives Charlie his condo’s address and Charlie goes there at 10pm (actual time specified in the book) and the two have sex. The chapter ends with Babe telling Charlie that if he wants to borrow Babe’s car then he needs to keep having sex with Babe until Babe is satisfied that it’s worth it to let Charlie borrow the car.

Pit Babe chapter 1

-Love that the race tracks had a nickname “The Hollows” makes it sound almost ominous right from the jump

-The race is at 1:30 in the afternoon and I don’t know why I’m surprised by that

-X-Hunter is really just that famous in this racing world. Good to know

-Babe isn’t so much into exhibitionism as he just does not care about getting caught having sex in the locker room. “…getting caught was the least of his worries”

-Babe is already annoyed with his partner before we even join them. The boy apparently keeps calling him Phi which he does not like

-a line is actually “let’s not talk about Omega” according to the translation I’m reading and like sure Jan

-that line is in because Babe can’t relax or concentrate on the sex because of the alpha’s pheromones. The other alpha is apparently young enough that it’s noted he only recently went through puberty but no mention on when that might happen. So I’m guessing the kid is like 18-19? Though Babe isn’t supposed to be much older than that I believe

-dude is literally about to cum and Babe is like “nope can’t stand it, get away from me”

-“your dog’s curse” damn Babe is savage

-for the record, Babe is described in the book as 180cm tall (5ft9) with honey coloured skin and a unique face shape as well as sweet smelling. Usually the sweet smelling one in an omegaverse story is the omega so take from that what you will

-Babe is also very physically affectionate with Way, even kissing his cheek after the race

-Babe leaves before Way’s race. That being said, Way doesn’t seem to have any kind of problem with that. They’re still playful with each other

-Babe is described as having his body be more sensitive than others and it makes him tired more easily which is another reason why he doesn’t want to stay and watch Way’s race. He needs to get away from the crowd. God I feel that so much

-Babe thinks Charlie is a pervert right away, since he covers his face with a mask and sunglasses as well a hat

-Finally mentioned his abilities so that’s nice. Way apparently described them like that of a superheroes. He can see better and notice more than most, his sense of smell is way better, his hearing is better, even his sense of touch is more than most

-Charlie wants to borrow Babe’s car because he doesn’t have one to do the tryouts for. I think the team he wants to join is X-Hunter as a driver

-Charlie says he willing to do anything to be able to borrow Babe’s car and Babe immediately thinks sex

-They don’t actually have sex in the locker room. Babe gives Charlie the address to his apartment and they met up later

-Charlie is apparently 22

-They strike up deal about sex in exchange for borrowing Babe’s car. Charlie is well aware that that is what Babe wants

-Babe is actually conflicted about Charlie’s lack of experience. Charlie’s enthusiasm wins the day though and Babe says he’ll show him what to do

-Babe assumes Charlie has no alternative motives because Charlie has professed to being a fan of his as well as because of his earnest and clumsy attitude

-Charlie thinks Babe smells sweet, like an omega

-Babe doesn’t like Charlie calling him Phi either. Instead he asks Charlie to call him Khun Babe (Mr. Babe)

-…Charlie actually says that if Babe were an omega he would get him pregnant during their first (FIRST) time having sex. He also says a bunch of other stuff that Babe thinks he should have a problem with but Charlie’s dick is too good

-It’s only in the middle of sex that Babe actually notices that Charlie doesn’t have a smell. Only the small scent of body odour, none of the usual alpha pheromones. It makes Babe even more attracted to Charlie

-Chapter finishes with Babe telling Charlie that Charlie has to be his sex partner until Babe thinks it’s worth it to lend him one of his cars

The ever-precious @prookal recently posted an original character "Draw This in Your Style" contest thingy, which was open until Feb 6, and because I've been lacking inspiration lately on new drawings, I decided to try my hand at it, not necessarily to enter the giveaway at ALL, but more because he's one of my oldest Tumblr moots from my earliest Sherlock days, and he's seemed down lately, so nothing cheers people up like drawing an OC, hahah. And I wanted to draw him something, so this seemed like a nice thing to draw.

Anyway, dunno their name, but the pic was interesting and I worked with colours in a different way on this one which was a good exercise in my skills. It was really fun, and I'm generally happy with the final piece. Having a deadline of only 2 weeks keeps me from over-producing my work, LOL.

Talking Heads are one of my all time favourite bands. Last year I read David Byrne's book about music and it was amazing! Anyway, I absolutely love when new artists I love cover old bands I love. Turns out Lorde (and others) just released a whole tribute album to one of the best albums of all time, Stop Making Sense. Lorde has been a big mainstay for me since 2012! Most of Lorde's covers bop too and this is absolutely no exception.

I am a big Aesop Rock fan. My husband got me into him many years ago and although he has many more recent tracks than this; including some wicked 8-bit tunes, this is probably my favorite song of his.
