I love you bad art, I love you amateur art, I love you self learning, I love you cheap art supplies, I love you journals, I love you crafts, I love you art available for everyone, I love you second hand art and objects, I love you free museums, I love you handmade gifts, I love you childish drawings, I love you art that nobody ever saw except for the artist, I love you taking time to learn a skill, I love you art history, I love you free tutorials, I love you art as a school subject, I love you things that took a long time to make, I love you art studies that are considered useless, I love you the human need to create and change the world around you to be more beautiful and more meaningful.

I hate you AI art, I hate you generated content, I hate you singe-use images, I hate you mindless consumption, I hate you stealing from artists, I hate you reposting without sources, I hate you lying about using AI, I hate you pretending like art is something unachievable and reserved only for the chosen ones.

Make art!! Make "bad" art that is actually special because you took the time to make it. Make art for yourself that you show no one. Make art for others that they'll cherish forever. See how your whole world changes, see how you start noticing beautiful and inspiring things all around you. Make things with love and devotion. Fuck AI.

the best bit was me telling him that if I did that, I would be fulfilling the Phoenix Wright prophecy because I’d be dropping my art degree to pursue law

#doctorsiren #not art #siren speaks #ace attorney #I go to the same college that he went to law school at and the view from my dorm is literally the law school #see if I wasn’t trying to be an artist #I *would* be going into law or criminology #I did mock trial all throughout high school #went to state for courtroom art all 4 years #i feel like Phoenix defo would have done courtroom art for mock trial when he was in high school #I’m just projecting because I know how the California Mock Trial Association works (I’m from California)#it’s pretty interesting to me that it took me until after my freshman year in COLLEGE to get into AA #when I did law stuff all throughout high school #maybe it was better than I didn’t get into back then HAHA #I feel like I can appreciate it more as an 18/19 year old sophomore in college than I could’ve as an 13/14 year old freshman in high school #also I made a joke that if I don’t get into my program this next year when i apply then I’ll go to law school instead haha

artists have "draw this in your style", i think fic authors should start doing "write this in your style" where a ton of people write the same prompt but all do their own lil interpretations and characterizations and fun dialogue bits etc

#also then we get to read our favourite scenarios more 😈#i know a big worry among authors is “what if this is too close to something that's been done before” and “is this tired/cliche”#but artists draw from the same references all the time! and it's amazing all the time #even with the exact same prompt #even if people used the same overall beats for the beginning/middle/end #it's always going to be different. we all view and create art in unique ways.#and there are always going to be new variations and ideas and interpretations that make it special.#also again. ik this has been said. but there are so many tropes i would read one million variations of.#need to see all my favourites in Situations™️#clear posts #on writing #writing #ao3 #fanfiction
