I love watching those big YouTube video essays when I have the time of course. One of my favourites has to be “The Problem With DC’s Heroes” by the Cosmonaut Variety Hour. A close second would be “This video will change how you see Even” by Invaderzz. Honestly any type of video essay that delves deep into a certain piece of media I love is always fun to watchh

What is your go-to way to fall asleep?

If I need to fall asleep, usually I’ll either listen to some type of relaxing OST or song; immerse myself into a daydream/scenario and keep the plot going in my head until I fall asleep; or listen to an ASMR sleep aid.

What is your favourite of Redacted’s audios, and why?

I don’t really have a single favourite audio from Redacted, but one of my favourites that I always find myself re-listening to is Davids “Comforted After a Hard Day at Work by Your Alpha Werewolf Boyfriend.” The video itself first of all is so soft spoken so I’ll use it occasionally as background noise or as a sleep-aid. And the most obvious answer is that the video itself is so extremely comforting to me when I need a pick-me-up. (This is getting a bit personal) But I often do feel like I am a burden at times, and so David’s reassurance to Angel at 5:35 is what I often need to hear so thats amazing to have on standby. 

I’ll give you something extra, and tell you my most listened to video as of late (if it helps). But since the video released, I think I’ve listened to Regulus’ “Possessive Yonder Demon Rewrites Your Memories” at *least* 5 times. I love Vega and Regulus’ soft-spoken voices and the way they reverberate in my head, so this video was just so good in that aspect. Also, a lil yandere never hurt no one LMAOO

What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why? Like, not the one you hate but the one who you don’t get the hype for. (I won’t judge, I promise.)

Regarding holding no appeal, I think I would have to say Lasko. It’s not that I don’t get the hype like I get why people gravitate towards him, but I just personally can never see him in a romantic light. He’s more of a bestie to me (there isn’t really any characters that I don’t get the hype over; I’m personally able to see the POV as to why people like certain characters that I personally don’t).

Which Redacted boy are you platonically attracted to? Like- forget dating, which dude do you want to be your best friend?

I really want to be best friends with Huxley. I wouldn’t be opposed to a romantic relationship, but I also would really love to be close friends with him. I naturally have a pretty sunshine personality, but I find myself obviously not being able to keep that up at all times and will often shut down. Huxley is the type of guy who I feel like is the best pick-me-up and his energy is just something I would love to surround myself with whenever possible. He’s also just such a cool guy and I often find myself re-watching his first video with freelancer, and his non-canon confession. His videos alone with Freelancer are the best testament as to how he would do anything for his friends, and his platonic love and care for the DAMN friend group is so admirable and loving.

Tell me your go-to gas station and drink combo.

If I’m going to the gas station, I’ll usually either get some type of sour candy like Sour Cherry Blasters or Sour Patch Kids, or a chip I love like Nacho Doritos or All-Dressed Ruffles! My go-to drink order (not at a Gas station) is usually either an Iced Cappuccino, or some type of cold brew or iced American from Starbucks (right now I LOVE the cinnamon caramel cream cold brew). If Im getting coffee, I don’t like it to be too bitter, but I also hate when its overly sweetened (and I LOVE caffeine XD).

Tell me about your favourite playlist at the moment. 

In general, my favourite playlist on my music streaming things would be my sad vibes playlist I titled, “depressed bitch hours.” I just love the vibes of sad music what can I say

At the moment though, I’ve been constantly listening to my “fav OSTs” playlist, where I compiled my favourite orchestral tracks from media. I’ve been listening to “Violets Final Letter” by Evan Call a lot, but I also love “Pure Love” from the Seven Deadly Sins album, “Main Title: Nemo Egg” by Thomas Newman, and “Ahead of the Road” by Yutaka Yamada.

And whatever else you think tells me about who you are!

I find myself getting emotional attached to characters pretty quickly and hard. If a character is able to capture my heart, I will quickly find myself analyzing them as much as I can, figure out their motivations, and also just being extremely connected to what they do and the implications. 

I also see a trend in the characters who I latch on to and without blatantly giving you names (that may take away from the anonymity and make a bias), I really love a tsundere to put it plainly. To expand, in both Redacted and other ASMR/Audio RP character choices, I’ve gravitated towards the initially misunderstood and guarded character who I personally can see has another side to them. I love to be there as those layers are peeled back, and also there’s something so scrumptious to be able to be of aide in that peeling back. Also like, the ones I love have a sex and romantic appeal that is SO SCRUMPTIOUS.

Oh, this is a no-brainer. A Type Nine needs a Type Six. The Peacemaker and the Loyalist are one of the best pairs in the Enneagram, and there’s no more loyal, reliable, engaged Type Six than Damien.

First off, Damien is absolutely the only child of an immigrant, single parent, POC household. Coming from me, an eldest daughter, it can be really important and just so comforting to be with someone who gets those family dynamics and the culture, the filial obligations and piety that come as along with that.

I really like the way that sort of presence would be so grounding yet… challenging in a way. Damien would absolutely support you when being sunshine-y and happy is too much, and he’d also encourage you to think about what might motivate you to be positive and sweet until you get to that point. (Nines tend to be huge people-pleasers, after all.)

(Also, both he and Huxley’d get on your case about taking breaks from all the caffeine and coffee with some water, and I think that’d be really cute.)

You say you’ve been a fan since they one, but ever since month 3 of starting my channel I’ve been a NSFW voice actor, I’ve always done a bit of everything, wholesome scripts, spicy scripts, and I even streamed as well back then too on YouTube.

I do have better equipment, I’ve rebranded as a vtuber so I could focus more on whatever variety of content I could make that my heart calls for, my best recent streams were “fixing vtubers” and cooking streams (which I’ve always loved). But at the end of the day, my content has always been the same, me a mic, and entertaining people as I’ve always have

Perhaps you don’t watch the streams so you don’t constantly hear me say how i always say hi for everyone that joins the chat so I can feel like people feel welcomed and like it’s a conversation. I don’t think you hate me (since you mentioned I’m just saying) I think you’re just nostalgic. You have fond memories of these days where after a bad day an asmr video could comfort you.

While I love my stories, I always felt people never connected to ME, not the smooth talker characters I play, the guy with an awkward laugh, dumb and with an even dumber sense of humor. I still do my audio stories, I love voice acting, but I also love streaming and what I do now as a vtuber

I usually play videogames with no audio cuz when I have it on I get easily bored. For example last month I started pokemon sword and tbh never played it with vol on and when I did that for the first time I was like “? Why the sounds are so annoying?”. But when I’m busy drawing things I like to listen to true crime podcasts. Yeah I’m one of those obsessed with serial killers cases.

And yeah, fear and hunger is just straight up hard. I was surprised the first time but I’m still trying to finish it (I want to die/hj). So far I’m loving sm hades! The character designs are so pretty? Ofc I like Dionysus the most, he was and still is my favorite icon. Just to ask, who’s your fav greek mythological figure? I’m curious. Personally I’m also extremely into the myth of Hyacinth the most. Probably I read too many graphic novels about him ahah. And! Are you perhaps also into egyptian mythology? Since I was a kid I was so obsessed with mummies and the first time I saw one I was so anxious lol.

When I was in school I also had problems at school, mostly because at the time I was the only emo kid and all my classmates were… normal? I liked to dress black, enjoyed spending time writing horror stories and I was a major creepypasta lover. But I genuinely sucked at oral tests. Probably you only had some random quizzes but where I live we also have oral ones. And I fucking hated to speak in front of people. So drawing during classes was a sort of stress relief to my anxiety! So I completely get you :(

This is funny but I always was extremely talented at singing, although at some point I started to find annoying to perform in front of people. And in general the idea of studying in theater looked “uncool” in my teen years. Now I completely changed opinion and I’m a musical fan lol. My family always tried to push me into trying this world in some ways through the years and only some months ago I finally decided to open up. It’s scary tho. You shouldn’t gave up your dreams. always i always have podcast recs yes absolutely. i have actual plays, fiction and nonfiction in that order

not another dnd podcast: if you watch dimension 20 stuff this is a must listen imo, and even if you don’t i would consider this to be the platonic ideal of just a dnd podcast. it follows the rules of the game and has a story thats sensible to the game setting, but the characters are just so phenomenal. its filled with so much kindness and humor. its about three people trying to save the world from the ‘people’ who saved the world the last time it needed saving. i love it. it’s first full season is completed.

dungeons and daddies: this is for people who have listened to too many dnd podcasts and/or hate dnd. it’s about four dads from like real life who got sent to dnd land to try and save their sons. i think it took them 29 episodes to have a real like a real to the mechanics dnd fight? it’s extremely comedic but then also gets too real sometimes, you know, the perfect balance.

campaign: they don’t play dnd but its still an actual play podcast. they have two games, the first one is a star wars game, the second one is about sky pirates. you will laugh you will cry youll be mildly horrified, it’s great, every day im deep in my feeling about this one. the second campaign has real good music and cats the musical musical parody. otto van von veen....

friends at the table: friends at the table is... so powerful... unbelievably powerful... they have a lot of games, fantasy, scifi, whatever bluff city is. this is definitely the longest option, you can jump on anywhere that isn’t the later heiron seasons. their current season, PARTIZAN, is about a revolution and also a little mechanical god murder on the side, and not to give into recency bias but imo the best. it also has original music playing and its chef kiss perfection.

fiction time

wooden overcoats: its a comedy podcast about english funeral directors. it has two full seasons with their last one coming out soonish. one of the main characters is a mouse who is a best selling author. its one of those. very light hearted (except for when it rarely isn’t). i think its the podcast i’ve listened to the longest technically?

dreamboy: its weird, its dark, its gay, its unrepentantlly horny. it’s a meditation about sexuality and also destiny and also the evils of capitalism and also its a musical. its finished and not very long and just astonishing. listen to it with headphones on though if you live with people.

brimstone valley mall: its about four demons stuck working in a mall a month before y2k happens. remember y2k? its pretty funny, with some pretty decent character writing. the first season isn’t complete but what is out is pretty enjoyable. also the demons are pretty original as far as demons in a story go so points for that.

the magnus archives: i’ve been shilling for this since 2018 and its’ gotten big enough that i dont really need to do that anymore, but if you like horror and tragedy this thing is pretty good.

hey what about real life now

meddling adults: its a game show where grown adults try to solve mysteries like scooby doo and encylopedia brown for charity. it’s fun, the host and the guests are all peppy and its fun to see if you can either a) remember or b) figure it out before they can.

waypoint radio: its a video game podcast that talks about video games and also the video game industry and also politics sometimes. five star podcast five star run time there are episodes that are four hours long. i listen to it religiously

emojidrome: its described as an emoji aesthetics podcast but its basically those tumblr posts that rank different brand’s emoji in audio form. i think its funny. the hosts are great.

desperate acts of capitalism: this is just rich hubris the show. its good in a fun fact kind of way. or if you like laughing at rich people ignoring the obvious signs of a company’s downfall and doubling down on bad choices.

i have a friend who whenever theres a moment of nothing to do he grabs his phone and starts watching tiktoks and going through his for you page. i can hear the audio through his mic pretty clearly so like i can usually guess what the fuck kind of video hes watching but there was always this one audio clip for like the past 2 or 3 weeks that kept playing.

it starts out with the ‘coin operated boy’ tune and im usually just sitting there like hell yeah i loved this song as a teenager such a nice tune and as soon as the opening is over it just sings “god fucking damnit dave” in a higher pitched, agitated voice and then cuts off so im just under the assumption that its some trend of watching some moron doing some stupid shit and then another person getting really disappointed because i dont watch tiktoks i dont really care for the platform considering all the shit that goes on with it.

but for the past few weeks i havent really thought much of it because its just one of those tiktok trends you know? harmless fun haha but then something clicks in my head one day. i needed to use the restroom while we were taking a break from our wizard101 grind and he was yet again watching tiktoks and when im getting up and taking my headphones off i hear the audio clip. by this point im used to it, ya know? i dont really mind hearing it, in fact it just gets coin operated boy stuck in my head.

but as im out of the room i start thinking about it and it the horrible idea comes to my head.

is this a homestuck thing???

as much as i didnt want to believe it was, the voice used was something id definitely expect some self-proclaimed voice actor to implement when voicing a character like karkat because “yes angry gremlin man must have a voice that is slightly growled but still high pitched because he smol” and the coincidence of the character being named dave of all things was too suspicious for me not to suddenly have a blast of realization, fear, and embarrassment all at once.

while i was away from my computer i kept telling myself “you need to ask him, ask him if thats supposed to be a homestuck thing so you dont have to worry about thinking that every time the audio plays you HAVE to ask him just for your own sanity”

so i go back to my room and sit down

and i forget to ask because goldfish brain

it isnt until the next day while hes afk’d on wizard101 while im doing some sidequests that the audio plays again and that visceral feeling to know what the hell its from rears its ugly head and i calmly ask “hey is that audio a homestuck thing?

he responds “yeah why?”

“just wondering, i just assumed because theres a character named dave in the comic”

i finally got my peace of mind, knowing i was correct with my assumption. but my friend doesnt stop talking, he keeps going.

I know they’re on a time-crunch because they only have 6 episodes, but they have to do more to make me care about the characters. I’m inclined to care about them already because I’m familiar with the series and because as a stand-alone, even I’m like “Ok. So?” whenever new problems come up for them. I’m not invested!

Not to compare the two, because I feel like this entire liveblog will turn into a comparative essay, but Cyberverse got me invested in characters within the first episode! They were on an even TIGHTER time-crunch because their episodes were only 10 minutes, and yet they did a great job weaving a tight narrative and making good use of their time to tell a story and have characters charm the audience.

You know, there’s a lot of talking in the show but the dialogue doesn’t actually say a lot. It doesn’t reveal much about the characters or tell me who they are.

Again, it feels very much like the writers read the wikipedia page for Transformers and maybe the first sentence of each character’s bio page and then wrote the entire script from there. It’s frustrating. I hate being so severe in my reviews because I hate dunking on my fellow writers because they don’t always have final say in what happens, but this is astonishingly poor writing.

Like, I can see what they’re TRYING to accomplish, but it feels like they whiff so badly.

Ugh ANOTHER WRITING PET PEEVE: Constantly having characters start to say something but then then their dialogue gets cut off. It’s fine if it’s once in a while but over and over it’s annoying

I also feel like a lot of the VAs lack...emotion. They don’t emphasize the lines. Like, “Get him into the repair bay” is one example. Depending on how you emphasize certain words in that sentence, you can infer a lot! Emotion, the state of mind of the character, etc. But when it’s delivered in such a bland way, it’s a bit like “ok whatever”, which is how I’m starting to feel about this whole show. This doesn’t go for all the VAs or all lines, but it’s consistent enough that my mind’s wandering.

I began reading my fics on YT. This is what I have learned!

Firstly. Its a Lot of work. And, despite that, you SHOULD at least try it!

If you love your work, and you want people to experience it as much as possible, then this is almost inevitable. It is one of, if not, the BEST way, either as the sum of your work, or an accompanying component to your standard prose, to increase the accessibility of your fic to people who may never have even considered enjoying your work before!

That being said, let me tell you what I had when I started, and what I have now, before I go into what it takes to make what I make, and what lessons I have learned making it!

I started with a free video editor, (very easy to find several of those btw), A recording software I bought on steam during a sale years ago, called "Action!", a Logi-Tec gaming headset I used to play Vermintide, and a google doc with my story, aka, script. Thats it, two programs, a headset, and a google doc.

Oh, and it should be said that I have no experience doing any of this, at all. I do not voice things and have no training. I am not published or an active youtuber outside of this. All the "training" I have is from life and actually doing this, and, of course, lots and lots of research, practice, and patience over time.

What do I have today? I purchased a better Editor to speed up my work...and thats it. Everything you are hearing from my channel is legitimately coming from a pretty standard PC gaming headset that many of you probably already own.

So what is the process? Well, first, I write, just like you do already. Finish it up lickity split, read it once, read it twice, and move to recording. During recording you want to try to be alone, in part so that you have the silence to work with, very important. But its also so you don't feel too hammy as you express into a screen and microphone. Trust me, its worth it!

Move your hands, raise your voice, its all groovy, just make sure you aren't blowing out your microphone. If you are, stop, back away or lower your voice, and rerecord. Oh, and prepare to do a LOT of that. Rerecording is your new bane, you will hate it, but it will yield you your best work, never dismiss it.

Once you have all your raw, messy voice lines, plop it all into your editor (There are youtube how tos on all of this, and again, it is all worth it for your work). In the editor you are going to chop out your bad takes, clean up your good takes, and put them all together. Once that is done, you are almost there (Technically you are done, but you can make your work far better by going a bit further!

Get some music! Any music, it doesn't matter if it is copy written, just give credit as best you can, but remember, we are fanfic writers, we do not ever profit off these IPs, so naturally, you do not need to concern yourself with that aspect of the work. Just disclaim that you own nothing, and its all peachy keen 99% of the time. Oh, and Remember to use Audio docking, or to greatly lower the volume of your music, it should always be far below the level of your voice.

Lastly, get a few images that vaguely represent the narrative, and have them play over your voice. There do not need to be many, your story will carry the entertainment the way an audio book does, but the more the better, as always. After that, upload it and publish it, and you are done!

I especially recommend people do this for fics that they have made awhile ago and didn't get the attention or love that they believe they deserved, it is a great way to clean up your work and breath life into your old efforts.

So, lets get a few hints, tips, and tricks out of the way, and by the way, please ask me any questions you like in the comments section! Always glad to give back!

First, is this a lot of extra work?

HECK YES! It will, if you do it right, greatly increase the accessibility of your work, and even the quality, as you will find the music and images can go a long way in helping you establish mood and context outside of merely your words and tone, but it will take you many additional hours to create, Expect that.

Do I need a good voice or voice training?

Not at all. I don't have the best voice, and even then, if you go onto youtube for awhile, you will realize that people are tremendously forgiving of your human voice, and YOU will be the most critical person against your own voice, guaranteed. That being said, here are my three big voiceline tips to help you out!

Take a deep breath, and try to voice your paragraphs in one go, then cut out your breath in between them. Maybe I'm just self conscious, and I don't always do it, bit I do notice that the quality of my work seems to go up when I do. Edit out your breaths, and to make that easy peasy, breath between paragraphs, and keep your paragraphs 3-4 sentences long, for your sake.

Reread. Reread! REREAD! Don't be a wuss, get the best take, practice annunciation, do it! We are artists, we must strain for that goal! So never Shy from recording, hearing a bad line, and rerecording right away. Do it so much and so often that it no longer takes effort, and you will be better than me!

Move your hands and be expressive. Not sure why, but doing this really helps me get the tone I want or need for a role, and it helps me differentiate the characters. Seriously, hold yourself a certain way when delivering the lines, like the character in question would, and you will find yourself speaking with a subtle difference as you read.

So I just read it all out into a mic?

Yes. Many times. I usually read my lines three times, but sometimes as many as six times if I'm really having trouble saying something clearly. Move your lips, exaggerate your face, SPEAK CLEARLY, and listen to yourself. People cannot see your face, so you need to speak so clearly that this does not matter, and that means no fumbles, rolls, or stutters. For every good take you hear from me, there are four lip meat takes that I didn't include. Expect that to be the case.

So I made my video, but it isn't getting many views, and no one is commenting!

Yeah, that will happen if you do not post links to the video where you would normally. Come back to reddit, find related communities such as this one, read their rules, scout their posts, and, if need be, respectfully ask the mods if posting your content would be appropriate. Patience is key, do not rush. Once you are certain you have found a place for your content, post in a way which clearly related your content to the theme and subject of the sub.

Oh, and in your video, make sure you ask for feedback! Don't be overly polite or shy, just ask for it, tell us you want it, you value it, and its all the payment you can get for this work that you have made for free. People will respect that most of the time, but you must ask for it to receive it.

I've seen your videos, and that seems like waaay too much work!

Too be fair, I go all out. I try to do the very best for my work, and you do not need to go nearly so far. My videos sometimes get thousands of views, but most authors are only looking for a 10-20 portions of feedback. Go as far as I do, and you may have a growing channel, but you do not need that to get what you may be after. Put in as much as you want to get out.

My story is pretty long, how do I know where to stop in one video?

So, I don't actually tell my whole story in one video, that would be too intimidating for most people to take on. Try to limit your "script" to 6-10 pages for your first and second videos in one series. This will create comfortable entry ways for your listeners to try you out without feeling like they are taking on a huge commitment. After that you can almost make your videos as long as you want, since people will be invested, and will want to hear more.

Any last tips?

Research. As writers we all know that research is half the job in many cases, and its more than half, at least at the start, with this. Research, have patience and preform research. Look up how to speak a certain way if you are trying to bring an MC to life. Search "How to Audio Dock" and "How to Snip" and "How to add transitions" and "How to Pan and Move pictures in Corel Vid studio".

In short, look everything up, be unashamed in your battle against ignorance, and be patient with yourself as you learn and get better and better. Love your work, love yourself, and do your research, so that you can do what you need to do as best as you can do it.

I didn't expect this topic at all and I am so glad it was talked about, thankfully my intrusive thoughts do not bother me as much as I realized other people's do. And I never saw anyone talking about this before, which is why it makes this video so important. I saw a tweet recently about someone saying that it is okay if you think about weird things, the important is that you never act on them, that's what makes you a good person. But I think this video really explains it far better and I never realized how common something like this was? So yeah another time in which I've been educated and couldn't be happier about it. These people really are bringing light to the world gah I LOVE THEM.

TL;DR- I have been sorta kinda diagnosed with Executive Function disorder (psychologist said it was very very very likely that I was suffering from it, but he couldn’t do anything) and I think I’m emotionally abused by my parents. I’m still trying to figure out whats what and what problem comes from where and if I can life hack it. I’m looking for help and/or other people suffering from the same things to add to the list. This is my list of symptoms.

Hey, all of you out there who struggle with executive function disorder or have been emotionally abused, or both. I have sorta been diagnosed with EFD and I think I’m being emotionally abused (I could be wrong and over reacting, I honestly can’t tell). Its been a while but I’m slowly discovering more and more symptoms that I thought were normal or scared the shit outta me (and still do) originally. Here’s an incomplete list, mind agreeing or disagreeing with them and adding your own? And/or how you deal with them?

My Incomplete (and ever growing) List-

Time. My sense of time is off, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. There are times when I think something happened 2 months ago when in reality, it happened years ago. I can be left home alone and when my parents get home and ask me what I did for hours on end, I have zero clue, its just a blank hole. I lose track of time extremely easily too.

Other Disorders. I often feel like my particular brand of screwyness happens to combine other mental illnesses/disorders like insomnia, depression, anxiety, adhd, add, odd, and paranoia among others

Depersonalization/derealization(dissociation). Especially here recently, I think I’ve been suffering from episodes of Depersonalization-derealization disorder. Its happened in the past but not as much as right now.

I feel like I’m going insane. Constantly. I feel like I’m over-reacting to everything, like everything is in my imagination.

I always feel like I’ve done something wrong/upset people. People I don’t know, people I do know, people I love. I always feel like I’ve upset them or I’m some kind of burden or I’ve done something wrong. (Leads to me apologizing to a chair for hitting it.)

Extreme clumsiness. This one is prolly just me. But its often a source of anxiety for me.

Social skills are next to nothing. I can’t make friends. All the ones I have were introduced to me by other people or approached me on my own. And most of the time they end up ditching me and telling me its my fault. Also, my timing is shit. I’ll walk up and ask you for something while you're busy.

Cotton. I feel like my head is full of cotton, like I can’t think straight. My thoughts are either spaghetti or a train wreck. I lose track of what I was thinking extremely easily.

Memory. My memory is shit. My parents claim its not, and I feel like it didn’t used to be, but it is now. I forget how to do something when I read or heard the instructions 10 seconds earlier. I forget things that are important to me, things that I wanted to get or do. I forget when things happened (ties in with the time issue.) I can’t remember important life events, or more accurately, I can remember them, but the memory seems weirdly muddled and I cant remember when it happened.

Food. I love food. But there are times when I’m light-headed and dizzy, and I know I should eat, but I just... Don’t want to. The thought makes me nauseous, its too hard to get up, I’m not actually feeling hungry (despite the fact that I can hear my angry tummy and I can feel the light-headed/dizziness), etc. 

Being left alone (especially with not much to do). I don’t fear abandonment (ok I do a little, but that not the problem here.) I fear my own brain. I hate being left alone, especially for long periods of time because when I run out of things to keep my mind occupied, all those thoughts I forced to go away come steam rolling back. Intrusive thoughts, suicidal thoughts, self harm thoughts, extremely depressing thoughts, disturbing thoughts that scare me witless, thoughts of running away, etc. I can’t stand my own brain. It scares me.

Motivation. I go to school online, 4.1 gpa (so far) and I am a fairly self motivated person. But there are times when I can barely find the motivation to grab my glasses off the nightstand 2 inches from my face and other times when I’m motivated to do something, I’m almost in a frenzy, and I’m hyper-focused on it. And there are times when I really want to do something (usually something that I love, like a hobby) but the thought of doing it makes me nauseous and I just don’t want to. Or if its a creative thing, like writing, I can’t seem to form a single idea or spark to get me started. My brain nopes out and I can’t do anything but stare at the paper, desperately wanting to write, but my brain is a bout as blank as the paper is.

Body-brain disconnect. Sometime my body and my brain seem to be on separate wavelengths. I want to stop scrolling through pinterest, but I can’t seem to make myself. I want to get up and eat, I know I need to, but I can’t make myself. I want to get up and do dishes or take a shower or do something, but my body just wont move. I want to go do something fun, like watch tv or draw, but I’m no moving, no matter how much I want it.

Pain. I am always in some kind of physical and/or mental pain. Headaches(near constant dull headache), back aches(always), cramps even when no where near that time(I am female), random muscle twitches/spasms/aches, etc. Oh and nausea. I’m nauseous a LOT. I also am light-headed or dizzy (or both) a lot.

Extreme mood swings.  I go from being so happy I could burst to emotionally shut down and sobbing in the corner in the blink of an eye. I go from being so pissed off that I want to slam my fist through a wall and break things to being so depressed I want to kill myself and repeatedly slam my head against the wall until I can’t see straight. I also sometimes get extremely frustrated/angry with the smallest things, like a noise, or something not working right, or the pets being annoying. Sometimes it gets to the point where I want to scream and break something or hit something (I never do and try my absolute hardest not to.)

Morbid thoughts. Fleeting morbid thoughts, generally about somehow injuring/harming myself. I might see a light socket and think “oh hey, you should stick a fork in that and see what happens” or I might see a pair of nail clippers or scissors and think “I wonder what would happen if I tried to cut x-spot on my body with those.” When I was younger, I used to want to sew patterns in my skin with a sewing needle and thread (never did, thank god) so they would scar over and create neat patterns on my skin.

War. I feel like I'm at war with my own brain, I talk to myself a lot. (I am an only child with parents that run their own business ((making them constantly busy)) so that is very possibly a reason I talk to myself. I also have very few friends and I talk to walls and my two dogs as well.) I tell my brain to shut up, to stop it, I feel like it has a mind of its own. Thats weird to say. (woooooo I'm totally crazy, right?)

Apologies. I apologize to literally everything. And about everything. I’ll apologize to a chair for bumping it. I apologize to my boyfriend when I rant to him or ask for help from him. I apologize for anything and everything, small or big. The bigger the issue, the more embarrassed and upset I am about it. Even if its not big to the other person. Ties in with always feeling like I did something wrong.

Defense. I am always on the defense, and sometimes it turns into offense. I always feel like I have to defend myself and everything I do or say that might have even the smallest chance of upsetting someone. And if I know it has or will upset someone, I defend myself more, to the point that it sometimes becomes offense. I can’t stop myself, I feel like I have to defend myself or I’m going to lose something or someone, or they’re going to take something I want or love away from me.

Noises and other various audio things.  Sometimes I feel like I can just barely hear someone calling my name, or a song, or a noise, or something just barely audible, but no matter how much I search for it, I can’t find it. Other times I can quite clearly hear someone calling my name, but I’m home alone, or when I ask my parents or the other people around me, they respond with confusion and a “no one called your name.” Other time noises, like beeps from the printer, even when I’m the one causing it and/or I’ve heard it multiple times in the past few minutes, jar me. They cause a jarring sensation, that is almost bone deep, I feel it in the back of my skull and it causes me to jump just a little.

All of these things are terrifying to me at various levels and they only seem to be getting worse. I study psychology for fun, I plan on going into it as a profession, eventually. I have done research on most of this, but I can’t find much on any of it (except emotional abuse), especially executive function disorder. Please help? (I am always adding to things when I think of more.)
