PIGTAILED Anita Dobson was all in a twirl with her knobbly-kneed boyfriend, Queen guitarist Brian May.

They were bopping the night away like crazy college kids at Queen drummer Roger Taylor's 40th birthday bash when crowds of sightseers besieged his Surrey home to watch the laser light show.

Police arrived after a flood of calls from flying saucer spotters all over the South, puzzled by the spinning lights dancing and decorating the night sky for miles around.

But the only guest in sight who might have been mistaken for a space invader was Queen singer Freddie Mercury, wearing a pair of Darth Vader shades. All the UFOs however, led by ex-EastEnders star Anita, were dressed like schoolgirls — on the wild-haired drummer's orders. Even seven-months-pregnant Yasmin le Bon complied, with a passable impression of a gymslip mum.

Taylor's chocolate flake advert girlfriend Debbie Leng wore fishnet tights, leather leotard, and wielded a cane, perhaps to teach him a lesson.

Singer Elaine Paige was more passive, simply snuggling up to head boy Tim Rice.

People also twist this line in a million different ways.Lucien was thinking back on how him and jesminda had this epic love story where she had seduced him and teased him and chosen him in every way there was.He had then spent centuries believing his “mate” was dead so elain had been thrown at him.Thrown at him as in he never expected to find his mate because he thought his mate was DEAD.The mating bond snapping was just as shocking for lucien as it was for elain.So just like elain,lucien is allowed to be confused and uncertain about their mating bond especially in this scene where he was literally meeting her for the first time.This is not proof lucien doesn’t want elain or that he resents the mating bond,it’s literally just him thinking and making keen observations regarding their situation.Stop twisting my man’s words 🗣️.

Okay I know I've already posted about this but I can't get over the fact that if the next book is about Elriel, then as readers we will be entering their story having missed all of the early romantic development between them, because it has happened off page. We have not been privy to a single private conversation between the two of them aside from the very brief bonus chapter. Not to mention we have zero Elain POV thus far. It would be so unlike Sarah to plop us into a romance that she developed without the us along for the journey. This is why I felt so awkward reading their almost-kiss. It caught me off guard, because despite seeing evidence of a growing friendship between them, there is no indication of any lust in ACOWAR and onward. They interact, but briefly, and these interactions are only observed from other character's POVs. We see Azriel defend her and rescue her, and we see Elain gift him a gift. But we don't get to hear what they talk about, or what they do when they are alone. This is what bothers me most about Elriel. I love the growth Sarah gives us between the two characters she's focused on. We get to see the love blossom slowly and thoroughly, but that wouldn't be true in the case of Elain and Azriel. We will have missed a big chunk of the build.

A fanon thing that everyone has just accepted as fact that is very weird to me is the idea that Nuala and Cerridwen are Elain’s best friends because they spend time with her in the kitchen.

As if they aren’t known to be Night Court spies who work for Rhys and were trained personally by Azriel.

And as if Azriel doesn’t explicitly say he has eyes on Elain at all times.

Why would Elain obviously get best friends in a couple of side references in not her book?

It’s one of those things that is possible, but there’s plenty of evidence to the contrary that fandom just ignores.
