Danny is The Doctor (Dr Who)
So! I've been on a Dr Who High for a little while now, and I thought this idea up.
Danny, as the apprentice to Clockwork, has the ability to traverse Time, and his can use his own Powers to traverse Space.
(He is not at the same level of Time Manipulation as Clockwork, but he is still very good at it. Less of a Time Master, and more of a Time Lord if you will)
So, after his family dies and he is left alone for his Immortal Life, he gets bored. Taking a Cue from Ellie and her whole Exploration Obsession, while also indulging in his own Space Obsession, Danny decides to explore Space and Time to his heart's content. (Maybe Ellie is his Companion?)
He travels the Universe, visiting different planets, witnessing historical events, and sometimes even Helping wherever he can. He is still a Protector Spirit after all.
He doesn't use his powers much these days, in fact he has mostly locked them away in favor of using his own custom built Inventions to get any task done. He is the son of Mad Scientists after all, and he likes to Own It.
Danny becomes known across the Universe in the same way that the Doctor is. To some he is a Savior, a Healer, a Wiseman. To others he is a Demon, a Trickster, a Warrior.
Danny becomes the Boogeyman of the Universe, so it's no surprise that one day someone tries to contain him, to keep him Locked Up so he can never interfere with the Universe again. To do so, they build a Device named, The Pandorica.
(Yup, I'm using that little thing in this)
Danny is trapped within the Pandorica, mulling over the Irony of being trapped by a Device named after one of his friends, for Eons. He is completely and utterly trapped.
Sealed Away, waiting for the day when someone will set him free.
...
Now imagine this.
The JLA has just confiscated an extremely Old and Extremely Magical Box from an Alien Cult, who were proclaiming that they would use the Pandorica Warrior to fell their greatest foe.
They call in Constantine to explain what it is, and just imagine the Doctors description of the Pandorica Scene coming him him.
"This is the Pandorica, an Ancient Magical Prison designed to hold the worst of all bad guys." Started Constantine.
"Why was it made?" Asked Superman.
"There was a Goblin, or a Trickster. Or a Warrior." Constantine explained as he paced a circle around the Box in front of them, "A nameless, terrible thing. Soaked in the blood of a Billion Galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos."
He took a closer look at the box and Continued. "And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world."
He paused and took a deep breath, "Or at least that's how the Story goes, probably why those cultists wanted it so bad. The greatest Warrior in existence on their side? It would be an instant win button."
"Is it possible to open it?" Asked Batman.
"Easily, anybody can break into a Prison. I just want to know what we'll find first."
Zatanna interrupted, "Won't need to wait long, it's already opening. Layers and Layers of Magical Barriers are dispersing as we speak. That Cult knew what they were doing, it's going to open soon. Very soon."
The Box in front of them shuddered a little, and they tensed. They waited for a few moments to see if it would do anything, but eventually they realized it was probably just a side effect of the barriers falling.
"How soon can we expect it to open?" Asked Batman, still tense.
Constantine replied this time, "From what I can tell, maybe 2 hours at most. So you have that much time to prepare to meet the Universes most feared Individual."
...
Just thought of this while I was binging Dr Who videos on Tiktok and thought, "this would be cool as a dpxdc idea"
Here is the Video that inspired me, give it a watch

Love Thy Neighbor, Two Families Become One- pt 2
PART 1
WC: ~3.15k
Tumblr media
That night, Melissa dreams of a life where you are officially her wife and Ellie is officially her daughter. That dream that shifts into a sort of hellish nightmare where both Gary and Jared are there, and she’s doing everything that she can do to protect you. And then it flickers into a dream where you aren’t around anymore, and because Ellie isn’t officially her daughter in the eyes of the law, she ends up back with Jared.
That dream is terrifying enough for her to wake up breathing deeply and making sure that you were still breathing before going to silently check on Ellie in her room. The redhead lets out a sigh of relief when she confirms that it was indeed just her imagination running wild.
When the two of you wake up for the day, she’s a bit more lovey than she usually is. Her hands don’t leave your body, whether that just be holding your hand or a hand settled on your hip and squeezing lightly. There are more kisses pressed to your head than a normal day. When she and Ellie come back from the grocery store while you stayed home to clean, they both come home with flowers for you. While you aren’t complaining, you are a bit curious as to why she’s being so romantic today.
“Is it my birthday and I forgot?” you ask as you hold both bouquets of flowers.
“No, you’re so silly Momma,” your little girl giggles from next to your girlfriend.
Melissa’s lips are on your own softly. “We just thought Momma should know how much we love her.”
“Well, thank you,” you smile against her. Then you lift your daughter onto your hip and pepper her face is kisses while she squeals happily. “I love you both too.”
As you’re getting ready for bed that night, Melissa texts her work wife.
We gotta talk tomorrow morning.
About? Barbara texts back almost instantly.
You’re still awake?
Well, I was falling asleep…
Sorry. We’ll chat tomorrow?
I’ll ask again… about?
Y/N, Ellie, and me.
Oh lord, what did you do Melissa?
Nothin. Just… please?
Meet me in my room tomorrow morning after you’ve stopped for coffee.
When the two of you head in for work on Monday, Nonna’s words still haven’t left Melissa’s mind. The three of you walk into the school hand in hand, Ellie’s backpack slung over your girlfriend’s shoulder.
“Little girl, you have to hang with your momma this morning,” the redhead tells your daughter. “Mom has a meeting.”
“You do?” you furrow a brow. “On a Monday morning?”
“With Barb,” she tells you. “To talk about insurance and how all of that stuff is changing.”
“Auntie Barb?!” Ellie asks excitedly. “Can I at least come say hi and give her a hug?”
Melissa almost says no, but those puppy dog eyes are strong and she relents. “But very quickly.”
“Wait, insurance is going to be changing?”
“There’s a possibility,” she tells you, although you don’t know that she’s referring to the fact that it might change because she’s contemplating asking you to marry her.
“Should I sit in on this meeting?” you ask her, concerned.
She shakes her head. “You just worry about El, and I’ll fill you in later.”
“Okay,” you sigh as you drop your things in your room. “Where are you meeting her?”
“Just her classroom after we get our coffees,” Melissa says.
After you’ve gotten your coffees, the three of you head down to the kindergarten wing. Ellie, of course, sprints ahead yelling Barb’s name as she goes.
“Auntie Barb!” Ellie is giggling and clinging to your girlfriend’s best friend by the time you both catch up with her.
“Baby girl, not that I’m not happy to see you, but where are your mothers?”
“Hey,” you chuckle from the doorframe. “Sorry to crash your meeting, but Ellie wanted to run in and say hi.”
“Well she knows Auntie Barb is always here to say hello to and give a snuggle,” Barbara chuckles as she releases your daughter.
“Alright, El,” Melissa looks at your daughter. “You got to say hi to Auntie Barb, now I gotta talk with her.”
“Can’t I stay?”
“I think you’ll have more fun with Momma coloring in her room,” your girlfriend says.
Ellie contemplates this for a moment before nodding. She runs to the redhead and hugs her tightly before taking your hand and pulling you off down the hall.
Your girlfriend watches the two of you make your way down the hall before she closes the door to the kindergarten room.
“Well?” Barbara looks to her work wife curiously. “What on Earth could you have done that would require us to talk without Y/N and Ellie here?”
“I took them to meet my mom and Nonna,” Melissa states. “And Nonna told them that they were family and that Ellie was an honorary Schemmenti.”
“That’s great news,” the kindergarten teacher states.
“And now, I’m thinking about asking them to become official Schemmentis.”
Barbara gives your girlfriend a look in shock. “Oh.”
“Yeah.”
“I thought that you didn’t want to get married again though, and Y/N seems perfectly content with that,” the woman says softly.
“I said that it would take a freaking miracle,” Melissa says. “And they… they are that miracle.”
“That’s great though, Melissa,” Barbara tells the redhead. “Why did we need to talk about this?”
“Because… I need you to tell me that I’m not insane for thinking this and throwing caution to the wind again for her,” the second grade teacher says quietly. “I- I never thought that I would consider getting married again.”
“Well, why are you?” Barb asks.
Your girlfriend folds her arms over her chest as she perches herself on one of the tables. “Because I love those two more than I’ve ever loved anyone… Nonna and my mother adore them, called them family and honorary Schemmentis. And then, that night I had a couple dreams about them.”
“What were they?” the kindergarten teacher inquires.
Melissa sighs softly. “I had a couple… one where Y/N was my wife and Ellie was my daughter, another where Jared came back and I couldn’t protect Y/N, and then… the last one was… something happened to Y/N, and because I wasn’t legally Ellie’s mother, she went back to Jared kicking and screaming.”
“Oh,” Barbara sighs quietly.
“That one had me so shaken that I checked that Y/N was still breathing and that Ellie was asleep in bed.”
“That makes sense, Melissa,” the kindergarten teacher says.
“Well? What do you have to say about this?”Your girlfriend asks.
“I think the answer is right in front of you, and you would be a fool to not follow your heart,” Barb states. “Y/N has been nothing but wonderful for you, Ellie already calls you her mother… you have already laid down the foundation for a beautiful marriage.”
“What if it’s too soon though?”
“When you know, you know,” Barbara says smugly. “Think about it.”
“Thanks,” Melissa smiles. She heads out after that, knowing that the kiddos will be coming in any second.
When lunch time comes around, Melissa makes her way into the staff room and has your meal out and ready for you when you get there. You sigh as you settle yourself in your chair and lean your shoulder on her head.
“Thank you,” you whisper.
She presses a kiss to your temple with a soft chuckle. “Happy Monday?” she offers.
“It’s Monday, that’s for sure… Roman started off the day spilling my coffee all over the floor and shattering my mug, so I’m exhausted.”
“Well, I can fix that,” your girlfriend laughs quietly as she stands from her place and heads for the coffee machine. She pulls another mug from the cabinet, and while the coffee is brewing, her eyes linger on you.
You’re half asleep as you bring your lunch to your mouth, but she can’t help but think that you are the most beautiful woman in the world. She gets so distracted just looking at you that she doesn’t notice the coffee is ready.
“Babe, stop staring at me,” you tell her.
She shakes herself out of her trance. “Sorry. You’re just… wow.”
“I don’t have any makeup on, and I’m in your old Eagles sweatshirt,” you roll your eyes. “I probably have bags under my eyes actually.”
She hums as she brings you the new cup of coffee, leaning down and kissing your cheek. “You’re stunning, and I won’t hear anything else.”
That day after school, the two of you take Ellie to the park like you do on any day that allows for the little bundle of energy to run around and tire herself out. You find Melissa watching Ellie with a sparkle in her eye, not that that isn’t uncommon, but there’s something different about the way she’s watching her today.
“What’s got you lookin’ at her like that today?” you ask as you squeeze her hand.
Melissa smiles fondly. “Just… thinking about how much that little girl has grown and changed, and how she’s changed my life for the better.”
“We’ve been through a lot,” you smile softly.
Ellie is put to bed, and for once, you’re not entirely exhausted. So, you prepare for bed before heading out into the living room with two glasses of wine. Melissa is in her spot, glasses on the tip of her nose and looking at her phone with a soft smile.
“What are you looking at?” you ask as you sit next to her.
“The album I have of you and El,” she tells you as she wraps her arm around you and pulls you practically in her laugh.
There’s a picture of Ellie’s seventh birthday up. Ellie’s eyes are wide and filled with so much love for your girlfriend as she grins at the camera, holding up the toy that your little girl had so desperately wanted but you couldn’t afford.
“I can’t believe you spoiled her as much as you did that day,” you roll your eyes.
She shrugs. “Have you ever seen the kid so happy though? It was worth it.”
You swipe over, and there are about a million pictures and videos of your daughter at the park running around with the sweetest smile on her face.
“This one’s my favorite,” Melissa sighs with content as she lands on a selfie of the three of you. Ellie was in her favorite lavender shirt, Melissa was wearing that salmon colored shirt you adore, and you were in your overalls looking exhausted but filled with so much joy.
“I look like a mess,” you roll your eyes.
“Do you remember that day?”
“Yeah,” you chuckle. “That was while we were moving in and I was at the end of my rope.”
“Momma! Please!” Ellie had pleaded with you, but you were in no mood to go out into the world after an afternoon of lugging all of your things across the hall or down to the storage unit a block over. “Please! I just want to go to the park!”
“Elizabeth,” you sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose with your thumb and forefinger. “I already said no.”
“But please! I just want to play with you!”
“Elizabeth, you are on thin ice,” you warned, but she didn’t relent, and that finally got you to blow over. “Elizabeth Ruth! To your room, now!”
Your little girl, never used to being reprimanded, immediately burst into tears. And something inside of you broke too. Melissa came out from where she was rearranging her closet to make room for your things at the sound.
“What- what’s happening?” she asked as she lifted Ellie onto her hip and guided you to the couch.
“Momma- Momma yelled at me!” Ellie wailed into your girlfriend’s shoulder.
“I- I didn’t mean to!” you had cried right back into her other shoulder. “I- This has all been so hard, and I’m exhausted, and I just don’t have the energy to take her down to the park today!”
Melissa blew out a breath. This was all over going to the park?
“Momma telled me to go to my room, but I don’t even have a room yet!” your daughter whimpered.
“I’m sorry, El,” you apologized. “I’m sorry I lost my temper on you… that was not okay.”
“It’s okay, Momma,” your little girl forgave you quickly as she sniffled the last of her tears away.
“Why don’t we do this,” Melissa started. “I’ll take El down to the park and play with her while you get a nap in?”
“N-no,” Ellie shook her head into the redhead’s neck. “Momma said no.”
“Go,” you whispered. “Take her, have fun, and I’ll be in a better mood when you come back.”
“R-really?” your little girl peered at you from her place in Melissa’s lap. You nod, but your daughter doesn’t make any moves towards the door.
Eventually, with lots of promises that it really was okay, Ellie went with your girlfriend out the door and towards the park.
You relaxed into the cushions of the couch, but you felt absolutely terrible for snapping at your child. So, about ten minutes after they leave, you too headed down to the park.
You stopped at the coffee shop down the street from your house, and you grabbed your girlfriend’s favorite, your drink, and a lemonade for your little girl. You found them almost as soon as you entered the gated area of the playground, and Ellie was giggling with glee as Melissa pushed her on the swing. Your daughter’s eyes lit up at the sight of you.
“Momma!” Ellie squeaked as she pointed at you.
Melissa turned in your direction, slightly confused. “Babe?”
“I thought I should come down,” you told them. “I’ve been so high strung lately, and I figured maybe I should just come down and spend a nice afternoon with my girls.”
“Really?” Ellie squealed as she continued to swing.
You nod and take a seat on the playground equipment next to her. You started to pump your legs, and soon you were in sync with your daughter. Melissa just chuckled as she continues to push Ellie.
“Momma! you never swing with me!”
“That’s because I’m always the one pushing you while Mel takes videos,” you laughed. And when you looked over, Melissa was indeed filming you both swinging.
It was a bit before you got off the swing, and the three of you ended up finding a nice little patch of grass that you could settle on. Ellie sipped on her lemonade while you drank your coffee. Melissa pecked your cheek before pulling out her phone and holding it out in front of her. She snapped a picture of the three of you, cheeks kissed with the sun and high on life.
“That was a good day,” she smiles softly. “It was so nice seeing you just be free for a little bit.”
“We should do that again soon,” you tell her quietly as you sip on the wine in your glass.
The two of you go through her pictures, reminiscing on all of the good times.
“Do you remember this one?” she asks you as she shows you a picture of you and Ellie dozing on the couch.
“Oh god,” you groan. “I was exhausted that day.”
You don’t know what hit you, but the kids wore you down that day. And after school, you collapsed onto the couch and pretty much refused to move. Melissa started on dinner for that night while Ellie curled up in your lap and started to drift off too.
You only woke up when your girlfriend snapped a picture of you, trying to be sneaky.
“Dammit,” she mumbled as the shutter sound rang out from her phone.
“Did you just take a picture of us?” you asked as you blinked awake.
She shrugs. “You guys are just so cute. I can’t help it.”
Eventually, the two of you head into your bedroom, and you fall asleep against your girlfriend rather quickly. But sleep doesn’t come easily for Melissa. She’s reminiscing on the time that she’s spent with you. All of the good, the bad, and the ugly. She remembers the first time she told you that she loved you.
The two of you had a night to yourselves, your parents offering to watch Ellie so you could spend some quality time together.
“This was really nice,” you smiled at her as she drives through the city to pick up Ellie.
She nodded and brought your hand to her lips. “It’s always a nice time with you… I love spending time with you.”
“I do too,” you whispered as you leaned over the middle console to kiss her cheek.
She pulled up to a stop light and turned her head to kiss you gently.
“Honey, why are you stopping? You never stop,” you ask.
“Because I want to look at you when I tell you, I would even say… that I love you.”
Your eyes went wide. “What?”
“I love you,” she said again, just as softly and just as genuine as the first time.
You couldn’t help but kiss her again. “I love you too,” you mumbled against her lips.
She remembers the first time the two of you had made love. You were beyond nervous, claiming that you were in no shape to be seen naked after having Ellie- that it’s been too long since you’ve been with someone knew- your only body was Jared. She didn’t care- she worshipped you that night.
She remembers the night that she met you. She can still see her first glance at the two of you in her mind. You looked beyond stressed, Ellie was in meltdown mode, and yet she somehow still knew that the two of you would become two of the most significant people in her life.
She remembers all of the good, and all of the bad. How you get giddy at the sight of her. How her heart broke for you when you would cry over your failed marriage. The way that you celebrated the case against Jared. That time that you had your doubts in the relationship and tried to run away, only to come falling into her arms that night telling her that you were terrified of giving someone your heart again, only for it to be shattered- she promised you that she would never, ever do that to you.
She reminisces about it all, and by the time that sleep takes her she’s decided that she is indeed going to ask you to marry her… so long as Ellie is okay with it. You, and your little girl, are worth everything to her.

Gym Headcanons
18+ only, ageless blogs will be blocked
Ellie:
Works on different things on different days, pacing herself over the week since she gets in lots of other exercises regularly.
Lazy about actually going to the gym especially if she tried to make it in the morning.
Would rather cuddle you, and do her exercise while you're around.
As such, Ellie keeps home workout equipment that she also sometimes ignores in favor of working out with random shit.
This means Ellie definitely counts fucking you as a work out 💕 She even takes you around the house/apartment and fucks you in different places.
Not with her? She sends you photos at different points or short videos, knowing that you like staring while her muscles work.
Will try and give you a massage while she's visibly sore, so you gotta make her lay down so you can help ring out her muscles.
Ellie always gets so relaxed she always falls asleep when you do it, snoring softly.
Pullups and the Punching Bag✨💖
If you meet there first, she shows off right off the bat for you if she thinks you're cute.
Loves an excuse to make girls stare.
Abby:
Does a full workout almost every day, with a rest day every couple of days.
There for a while, but that doesn't stop her from taking short breaks to flirt with you and help you if you also work out.
If you aren't there Abby's sending you a little text or some photos (In the locker room she sends ones that makes it hard to wait for her and you to be home later).
Loves to show off what she can do, especially things that make you flustered .
Overhead Press and Long Press 😵‍💫
Likes you on her back while she does pushups/ Under her for kisses when your home/the gyms empty.
Never lets anyone else spot for you when you do weights, insisting she's the best one for the job anyway.
Always looks forwards to getting into warm baths with you to relax later when you guys/she gets sore.
She also has home equipment of some of her preferred workouts, uses it when she's stuck at home/the gym is closed/doesn't want to go in. Doesn't use it as often though, because she likes seeing her gym bros.
She's like a collage frat bro but she's hot about it and still won't take any weird shit from the guys.
Dina:
She believes in Leg Day.
Morning jogs around a few blocks wakes her up.
Somehow goes to the gym after a busy day. She says "That it helps her work off the day so she can actually relax with you."
She does what she can over an hour and calls it good, but not a second before.
She only doesn't go on days where she hasn't really left the house.
That doesn't stop her from keeping routine of course, but you guys can try more ✨creative✨ ones behind your own doors.
Definitely gets into home yoga because she knows how you look at her in yoga pants 👀.
Definitely gets you matching ones even if you don't join, because she also likes how they look.
She likes using the jump rope and the Elliptical, keeping her hips and legs strength 🔥🔥🔥 For arms I think she'd be a fan of the chest press machine as regular use.
Mostly keeps to herself/to the two of you when she's there.
But in an au where you meet there she's not against you asking for help with your workout and chatting, she just doesn't initially talk first until you two are closer.

all in all, HOLY FUCKING SHIT. lots of emotions this time. lots of tears. lots of sweat. very very emotional.
idk it feels like a privilege to play this game to me? maybe that’s why i waited 9 years to play it? which i’m glad that i did bc my love for storytelling and my eye for certain things has grown a lot over the past year, and i feel like i can enjoy the experience of the game more.
i also feel like i’m more mature enough to play it now? it always scared me to play, which it still does, but i feel like i’m more equipped to handle the subject matters and the material.
i know that i still have a lot of emotional turmoil to get through, so i will save it for tomorrow!

Tumblr media
"Y/n, truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"We all had this conversation already, so I'll ask you: how many guys have you fucked?" I looked at Jules with wide eyes and looked to the floor.
"Um, I guess four..?"
"Wait, you guess?" she asked questioningly.
"Yeah. I mean if you must know, there was penetration. But it was over so quick with two of them, I don't know if I fully count it. The other two, whew. Very into neck biting and giving hickeys. I would wake up with them all over my body sometimes. And then when we all got together..." I briefly closed my eyes and shivered my body. When I opened them, all three were just looking at me.
"Neck biting and hickeys, huh?" This seemed to intrigue Elliot.
“A whole threesome?” Rue asked.
I was kind of embarrassed before shooting, "Pervert" at Jules.
"I'm not a pervert!"
"You're kind of a pervert." See, Rue agreed.
"Kinda, pervy, bro." And so did Elliot. He looked back at me and kind of looked me up and down with something in his eye before turning his attention back to Jules. I looked around the room and Rue was eyeing us before also turning her attention.
"Ugh! Moving on. Y/n, go."
"Uhhh, Rue. I dare you toooooo....spend two minutes alone in the bathroom with Elly." Jules hit me in the arm and the other two smirked. They walked off and Jules plopped on the bed. I poked her in the thigh, "Wadda think they're doin?" I asked kind of teasingly.
"Shut up. I hate you."
"Hey, that was payback for that invasive ass question," I say poking her in the side now. She flinched away while giggling and then we just stared at the ceiling.
"This is a long ass two minutes."
"I agree. Guys?" I hop off the bed and knock on the bathroom door. Elliot opened it and said they would be right out. I turned to Jules and shrugged before going back to her. The pair come out of the bathroom and go back to where they were.
"What happened?”
"Sorry, Babe. Not your turn. Elliot," Rue extends her arm and points to the curly haired boy. He does the same, "Rue."
"I dare you to..." she walks over to him and whispers the rest in his ear. He smirks before smiling wide. Elliot looks between all of us before going over to Jules. He leans down and places a soft kiss to her lips. My jaw drops and I look at Rue who raises her eyebrows and smirks. Elliot separates he and Jules and looks to me. He turns behind him halfway and Rue gives a nod.
"My dare was to kiss Jules and...give you a hickey."
"Wha-why?"
"Because you let it slip that you're into neck biting and we’ve all made out already. Consider it initiation," Rue interjects.
He places his hands on my thighs while kneeling in front of me. He grabs my hand and places a kiss on it before leaning up and connecting his lips with my neck. My breath becomes a little unsteady and he definitely notices. He places his left hand on the other side of my neck to get more skin between his teeth. I let a half wince/moan while connecting my hand to the back of his neck to pull him closer. His breathing is getting heavier when he lays me back on the bed.
His left hand leaves my neck and squeezes my hip when he bites and sucks hard one last time. He kisses up my jaw when he places a kiss near my lips, almost as if he's testing the waters. I turn my head and meet his lips. His tongue battles mine when he grinds his hips down onto my clothed pussy. I lift my hips and tug at the bottom of his shirt before we finally separate. We look each other deep in the eyes until he turns my head to the side to admire his work. A kiss was placed on my cheek when he sits up and gets off the bed. I follow his action and sit up also. Jules is still on the bed and her eyes are wide with her mouth slightly agape.
"That-that was. That-whoa," she stumbled over her words. Clearly turned on.
We all just kind of looked between each other before I excused myself to the restroom. I inspected the new mark on my neck and got wet all over again. The feeling of his stubble brushing against my collar bone. His heavy breath in my ear. My knees almost go weak at the memory. I use the restroom quickly, flush the toilet and turn on the faucet before exiting. When I do, I'm immediately backed into the wall by the door and lips are connected with mine.
Large hands roam my body while I'm still trying to comprehend what is happening. He lifts off my shirt before reconnecting our lips. He only breaks away to say that Jules and Rue excused themselves for the night and that they said bye. That flipped a switch in me and now my hands were all over him.
He tugged at the hair on the nape of my neck, pulling my head back. He moaned before he licked his mark. I moaned at him reminding me what he did, but winced when I felt his start another one right below it. I try my best to fumble with the button on his jeans and he lets go of my neck to help me. He crashes his lips back to mine when he pushes them down to his ankles before stepping out of them.
“You like neck biting and body marks,” he said between kisses. “Sounds like you like to be claimed. You know what I like?” He kisses me deeply one last time before pushing me to my knees, “swallow my dick, baby.”
I place my hands on his boxer clad thighs when I rub my nose over his clothed cock. I open my mouth and lick the hard bulge that his becoming more and more prominent through the thin material. He groans and runs his hand through my hair. I finally tug on the waistband, freeing his semi-hard cock. I reach up to wrap my hand around the side while swiping my tongue against the other. Once I reach the tip, I let it pass my lips before sucking on it lightly. I stoke his shaft and let his cock deeper and deeper.
His other hand grips my head and holds it in place. He starts to slowly thrust in and out of my mouth before slowly sliding his cock the rest of the way down my throat. He slacks his head back and lets out a deep moan when my nose reaches his pelvic bone. I can feel his cock growing between my lips and my pussy starts to throb. I release his thighs and slip my hand inside of my waistband, down to my soaking cunt. I start to rub my clit and then insert a finger.
He lowers his head to look at me and sees what I’m doing.
“Mmmmm is throating my dick making you wet, baby?”
I raise my eyes and look at him and he lets out another moan. He caresses my jaw, “So fucking beautiful like this. On your knees for me. Dick all the way down your throat,” he pushed his hips further with the last sentence and I slightly choked. I released him from my throat, but kept him in the cheek of my mouth while I caught my breath. I was breathing heavily, drool starting to run down my mouth. He harshly taps on his cock through my cheek, “C’mon. Back down.” He repositions his stance above me and I take a deep breath before letting his cock slide back down my throat.
I look up at him with glorious tears running down my cheeks and he keeps thrusting. After a little, he wraps his hands around my neck to pull me up off my knees. He yanks off my pants before guiding me to the bed. He lays me on my back and tugs off his t-shirt. He kisses me deeply and then trails sloppy kisses and love bites down my body. He reaches my pussy and teasingly runs his finger over my swollen bud. I let out a shuddery gasp and he smiles and starts to suck on it. My hands intertwine in his hair while I pull his lips deeper into me. His nose is grazing my clit while his tongue is plunging out of my tight hole.
“FUCK! I’m cumming!” He started licking faster before I start to grind my hips against his lips. His left hand goes down to his hard cock and starts aggressively stroking. My juices flow out of my and he catches it all before licking me clean. He climbs up my body until he is practically sitting on my chest. He is still stoking his cock in my face and I stick my tongue out while he lets out a deep, guttural moan. I feel warm ropes of cum hit my taste buds and I moan while swallowing all of him. I swipe what missed my mouth and suck it off my finger.
“Holy fuck,” he says quietly.
He runs his hand through his hair before kissing me and giggling in my mouth. I pull away and join him in his childish sounds.
“Well that fuckin happened.”
“Yeah it did. Are you okay?”
“I’m ecstatic.”

Chapter Word Count: 3447
Chapter Warnings: Drug use
Previous Parts: Ch. 1 Ch. 2  Ch. 3 Ch. 4 Ch. 5
Ellie had expected to spend her first night in the Outer Banks in her new bed at her uncle's house. Instead, she woke up in an unfamiliar room, an unfamiliar arm draped over her, completely naked with a pounding headache.
She could briefly remember the night before. Speaking with the pogues, going to get another drink, meeting Rafe, spending the night...
Shit. Spending the night. Ellie sat up abruptly, waking the boy laid next to her but that was the least of her worries. Her uncle had told her not to stay out late. Glancing at the clock on the nightstand, she saw it was 9:17 AM. That definitely classified as late.
“Mhm. What’s wrong?” Rafe muttered sleepily, barely able to open his eyes. He lazily reached his arms out to wrap them around her waist, and that’s when Ellie remembered she was naked, hastily grabbing the sheets and wrapping them around her.
“I have to go home. Where are my clothes?” She glanced frantically around the room.
Rafe finally sat up next to her. “Was I really that bad?” He teased. He knew he wasn’t bad, both of them could remember the way she had screamed last night.
Ellie’s stomach rolled, and she prayed she wouldn’t throw up, at least not till she left Rafe’s house. The last thing she needed was to vomit all over his room. She stood up, finally spotting her shorts and top from the night before. Walking over to retrieve her cardigan, she noticed remnants of white powder on top of the desk.
Cocaine. Had she done it last night? No, she wasn’t that drunk. She would remember. A part of her screamed run, telling her to stay away from the boy behind her. Drugs were a bad idea, addiction ran in her family and she had spent the majority of her life avoiding them at all costs. But the other part of her wanted to stay. She enjoyed being with Rafe, she had a good time with him, and it was only cocaine. Nothing like meth, or the heroin her mother did.
It’s only coke, she finally decided. And it’s not like she was going to do it. She was just spending time with Rafe, who happened to do coke. No big deal.
Ellie pulled on the cardigan and turned to face him. He was still sat up in the bed, gazing at her with a small smile on his face. His hair was messy and fluffy, and she had to admit, it looked better than when it was slicked back.
“Enjoying the view?” His smile turned to a smirk, and she shook her head, chuckling.
“I have to go. Thanks for a great night!” She turned to open the door, but Rafe jumped out of bed.
“Wait!” Ellie turned back around, watching as he rushed to get dressed. “It’s raining. Let me drive you.”
He led her to his truck. “You said you’re staying with Travis right?” He asked, and she nodded.
There was silence for a couple minutes, then Rafe spoke again. “You shouldn’t be hanging with the pogues.”
Ellie, confused, furrowed her eyebrows. “Why? They seem nice.”
“They’re not. They’re dirty, good for nothing criminals. Always getting in trouble with the police and starting fights. How do you think I got this?” He pointed to a bruise on his jaw that she hadn’t noticed before.
She said nothing, instead just nodding and staring out the window. Rafe glanced at her and she smiled, trying to show him that what he had said didn’t bother her, even though it did. The pogues were really nice to her.
The rest of the ride was comfortably silent, the radio playing an unfamiliar song that Rafe hummed along to. He pulled into her driveway and shot her a quick smile. “So will I see you again?”
Ellie nodded. “Of course. Give me your number?”
He took her phone and added his number before driving off, and Ellie began the walk to her front door, dreading facing her uncle and aunt. She opened the door, immediately spotting her uncle sat on the couch in the living room.
“Did you have a good night?” He didn’t seem mad.
“Yeah I did, I’m sorry I didn’t get home last night I-”
He cut her off. “Was that Rafe Cameron that dropped you off? Good family, those Cameron’s are. I guess you spent the night with Sarah then? I forgot she was around your age.”
Ellie simply nodded, she hadn’t even had to lie, her uncle easily created a story for her.
“At first I was upset that you didn’t let me know you weren’t coming home but then I realized I never even gave you my number! What kind of guardian am I?” He chuckled and then rhymed off his number, and Ellie quickly added it to her phone.
“Thank you for being so understanding uncle Travis. I’m going to head upstairs to shower, I start work in an hour!”
Ellie rushed up the stairs, actually quite excited to start work and see her friends again. She felt bad for ditching them last night, but she had also felt uncomfortable around them, they easily fell into conversation with each other and she didn’t fit in. They all seemed preoccupied with their own things last night anyways, so hopefully, they wouldn’t mind.
As she showered, she couldn’t stop thinking about the way the pogues had looked at Rafe last night. And the things Rafe had mentioned on her way home this morning. Both groups seemed nice enough to her, and she didn’t understand why she couldn’t be friends with both.
She shook the thought, rinsing the shampoo out of her hair and moving to grab her loofah. The last thing she needed was to be late for her first day of work at The Wreck.
Ellie quickly got dressed. She grabbed an umbrella, planning to walk the short distance to the restaurant but her uncle stopped her. “You got your license?”
She nodded, she did have her license but could never afford a car. That’s one of the many reasons she was so eager to work: she wanted to be able to drive around.
He pulled out the keys to his truck and tossed them at her. “Here, might as well drive then.”
The trip to The Wreck was much quicker in the truck, and Ellie had missed driving. Pulling up to The Wreck, she noticed Kie’s car as well as the same van that had been there yesterday, so she assumed it was one of the guys.
Opening the door her theory was confirmed, Kiara was stood behind the counter and the three boys were stood next to her, talking. Kie noticed her first and waved her over, “Hey Ellie!”
She walked over, greeting the group with a smile. Kiara waved her behind the counter and passed her an apron. “There’s not much to do right now, so we're just talking.” She giggled and Ellie nodded, knowing how this job usually went anyways.
“Hey, where’d you go off to last night?” JJ asked her.
“Yeah, we saw you with Rafe.” John B added, and Ellie’s cheeks flushed red.
“Oh my god.” They all knew what the blush on her cheeks meant, but Pope was the first one to speak.
“Did you go home with him?” JJ asked. All four pairs of eyes were on her now and her eyes were wide, glancing back and forth between the four.
“Uh yeah? He seemed nice.” She didn’t understand the way the pogues were reacting, nor the way Rafe had reacted. It seemed silly and stupid.
“He’s definitely not nice. He and his fucking friends beat the shit out of us every second day.” John B explained.
“I’m a kook and even I say you should stay away from Rafe and his friends. He’s bad news.” Kie chipped in, the boys nodding along.
“Thanks, guys, I appreciate the concern, but he said the same thing about you guys.” Ellie just wanted the drama to stop.
“You have to believe us, Ellie. Rafe will say anything to keep you away from us. He’s not a good person.” Pope sounded serious, and the way he was staring at her freaked her out.
She nodded. “Okay, I’ll stay away from him.” She knew that wasn’t true, she had a great time with him the night before and wanted it to happen again. She just wanted the topic to change.
A couple walked into the restaurant and Kiara sighed, shooing the boys away from the counter. “That’s our cue,” She said to Ellie. “Time to get to work.”
John B glared at JJ as soon as the two girls walked away. “Bro if you keep acting like that she’s gonna notice somethings up.”
JJ was confused. “What are you talking about?”
“Clenching your jaw and glaring and all that shit. You look pissed.”
JJ sighed, he had hoped no one had noticed. “I really don’t like the idea of her sleeping with Rafe.”
Pope joined into the conversation. “JJ, dude, she’s her own person. She can make her own decisions. Why do you care so much anyway? We only met her yesterday.”
JJ bit his lip. “I know. She just seems really sweet, and I know Rafe is gonna hurt her. He always does.”
“Do you like Ellie?”
JJ’s eyes widened. “No! I don’t fall for people. One night, that’s it. Plus I don’t know her. Like you said, we only met her yesterday. Just don’t want to see her get hurt, is all.”
John B and Pope could both tell JJ felt something for the girl, even if it was just a little crush based mainly on physical attraction. But they both kept their mouths shut, instead waving Kie back over to order some food.
---
Once Ellie’s shift had ended, she drove to John B’s, punching the address into the GPS. Pope told it wouldn’t bring her straight to the house, but she’d be close enough to know where to go.
Kiara’s shift had ended an hour before hers, and she had invited Ellie to hang out with them at John B’s house, which they called The Chateau. She had happily agreed, excited to have plans and friends. She didn’t have that when she lived with her mom.
She finally found the house, if you could even call it that. It was more of a shack, with a rundown porch and a chicken coop off to the side. She could see her new friends sat on the front porch, and she parked and made her way to them.
“Holy shit. That your truck?” John B asked.
“Nope. Uncle Travis’s.”
“You park like shit,” JJ said, grinning at her parking job.
Kiara slapped him lightly. “Stop insulting our new friend!”
Ellie laughed at the banter. “Don’t worry, I know. I hate driving a truck. I’m used to a little car.”
It was still quite early in the day, as Ellie and Kiara both had short shifts, and it was a beautiful day, so they decided to go out in boat. The HMS Pogue, JJ explained to Ellie, blabbing on and on about their precious boat.
Once they were all situated, and John B was working on untying the rope, Ellie turned towards the others. “I have a confession. I’ve never been on a boat. Besides the ferry, obviously.”
“Hopefully you don’t get seasick then.” Pope giggled.
John B had untied the boat and started the engine. Ellie moved to sit down, but she was seconds too late as the boat lurched forward and she fell backward.
She waited for her butt to connect with the hard surface, squeezing her eyes shut to prepare herself for the pain, but it never came. Instead, she fell into someone, their arms wrapping tightly around her waist to steady her.
“Woah there!” JJ’s voice came from directly behind her, as he stepped back slightly to stop himself from stumbling over with her added weight.
The three other pogues laughed, and Ellie couldn’t stop the blush from spreading on her cheeks. “I told you guys I’d never been on a boat!”
JJ carefully lead her over so she could sit, his arm still wrapped tightly around her waist to make sure she wouldn’t fall again. Once she was finally settled down, he reluctantly removed his arm and shifted away, just slightly.
“Thank you,” Ellie said to JJ, sending him a smile that made his heart flutter.
He had never felt like that before. He wasn’t sure what it meant, but it scared him. JJ had only known Ellie for a day, yet she was causing butterflies in his stomach and his heart to beat faster.
Eventually, they decided to anchor the boat and go swimming. Ellie didn’t have her swimsuit on, so she decided to stay on the boat. John B offered to stay with her, assuring her that he didn’t really feel like swimming anyways.
“So,” He said as he sat next to her, taking JJ’s spot. “What brings you to the Outer Banks anyways?”
Ellie paused for a minute, thinking of what to say. She wanted to keep her story a secret, at least for a little bit longer. “There were some issues at home,” She finally said. “I needed a change.”
John B could tell that she didn’t want to get any further into it, so he changed the subject. “What do you think of it here so far?”
This was something Ellie didn’t mind talking about. “I love it here! It’s so different from West Virginia.” She smiled, glancing around at the water around here. “There are so many new things for me to experience. And so far, the people are super nice. Although, I haven’t met many.
“I think I’d like to learn how to surf, but I’m not a great swimmer, so I’m not sure how that would go. Can just barely keep my head above my water.” She laughed.
John B grinned. “We all love surfing. But JJ’s definitely the best. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind teaching you!”
Ellie glanced at JJ in the water, and couldn’t help but blush once again. She couldn’t deny that he was attractive, and being alone with him on the beach might not be such a bad idea.
John B noticed her stare and teased her, “Checking him out now are we?”
She playfully shoved him. “Shut up!”
Ellie loved how comfortable she felt with John B. He was easy to get along with and she enjoyed talking to him. It felt like they had been friends forever, they quickly fell into conversation and before she knew it the pogues were climbing back on the boat.
John B immediately told JJ about the fact that Ellie wanted to learn how to surf, and he agreed to teach her right away. It was an excuse for him to get to be alone with her, to get to know her a little better.
JJ couldn’t help but stare at Ellie as they made their way back to land. She was beautiful, he admired the way her hair fell on her shoulders, how her eyes glistened in the sunlight, the way she smiled while Pope was talking and laughed when Kie teased him.
Ellie’s phone chimed and she picked it up, reading the text. It was from Rafe, asking her if she was busy, and if she wanted to come over again later. She quickly responded yes, smiling as she thought about seeing the boy again.
JJ didn’t miss the way she smiled at her phone, or how her eyes lit up. He quickly looked away, not wanting to think about who made her smile like that. She probably had a boyfriend. For the rest of the ride, JJ was silent. He shouldn’t feel like this anyways. He hardly knew her. And even though he had never felt like this before, he brushed it off, convincing himself that she was just another girl he wanted to fuck.
---
Ellie made her way to Rafe’s house for the second night in a row. She told her uncle she was spending the night at Sarah’s again. She had apologized profusely, feeling bad that she hadn’t spent more than an hour in her new home, but her uncle insisted it was fine, he was just happy she was making friends.
Except she didn’t have a clue who this Sarah girl she was ‘staying with’ even was.
Ellie walked up to the front door of Rafe’s house (which was much bigger than her uncles) and knocked. A blonde girl around her age opened the door and smiled at her. “You must be Ellie. Ready for our sleepover?”
Ellie frowned, looking at the girl. “Sorry?”
The girl burst out laughing. “I’m Sarah. I saw your uncle Travis at the store earlier and he mentioned you spending the night with me last night... Of course, I don’t seem to remember that but I went along with him anyway, don’t worry.”
Ellie looked down sheepishly, she hadn’t expected to get caught in her lie. Sarah continued, “I assume you’ve been spending time with my brother. It’s all good, I don’t mind covering for you. Come in.”
Ellie stopped to talk to Sarah, she didn’t want to seem rude by running away, especially since the girl was helping her out. She was extremely nice, and they even made plans to hang out sometime.
She eventually made her way to Rafe’s room, knocking lightly on the door. “Come in!” Pushing open the door, she saw Rafe sat at his desk, lines of white powder present in front of him.
He wiped his nose. “Sorry. I wasn’t expecting you for another 15 minutes.”
Ellie sat on his bed. “It’s okay,” She said quietly, eyeing the substance. It’s not like she hadn’t seen it before, but it intrigued her. She thought back to this morning when she had first seen the signs that Rafe was a drug user.
He bent down, snorting another line. She watched closely, impressed with how effortless he made it. Ellie had never even smoked weed, terrified of falling in her mother’s footsteps. But Rafe made this look so cool, like it wasn’t even a big deal.
And maybe it wasn’t. Everyone had done coke a the parties she used to go to, treating it as nothing more than a sip of alcohol. Of course, no one had ever offered her any, knowing the story of her family. The story that Rafe didn’t know.
He noticed her staring. “Want a bump?”
She hesitated, knowing she shouldn’t. One line was all it would take. But Rafe was staring at her, a small smirk on his face, one line of powder left on the table. The look in his eye told her that he didn’t expect her to do it though, and she had to prove him wrong, she just had to. Plus, one line wouldn’t hurt.
Ellie had seen her mom, seen what drug abuse turned into. She wouldn’t let that happen to her. A little bit of cocaine would hardly have an effect, she convinced herself, even though she knew that wasn’t true.
But she had a point to prove, and Ellie’s spitefulness wouldn’t let her say no. She knew she was younger than Rafe, and she didn’t want him to think of her as a frightened little girl. She had to prove herself to him.
She promised herself she would only do it once as she walked over to the desk and snatched the rolled bill from his hand, leaning down to the surface. As she breathed in, her nose burned slightly, the drug irritating her nostrils. Ellie stood back up, feeling slightly dizzy as she wobbled a bit.
Rafe reached out to grab her, pulling her down so she was sitting in his lap. “First time?” He asked as he reached around to brush the remains of the coke off her nose. She sniffled slightly, her nose already starting to run.
Ellie nodded, leaning back into his chest. Her head felt fuzzy, similar to alcohol, but not the same, and she found herself loving the feeling. It was better than alcohol had ever made her feel, and she wanted more, forgetting about the promise she had made herself. Her hand slightly trembled as she grabbed Rafe’s, gently rubbing his thumb.
He turned her slightly, leaning in to press his lips to hers. His pupils were dilated and slightly bloodshot, and she knew hers would probably soon be the same. He slipped his tongue in her mouth, moving his hand down to squeeze her ass.
He pulled back. “Want to go to the bed?”
She glanced back at the desk and the small baggie before shaking her head. “Let’s do another line first.”

The Guardian and Saviour (Favored Ones, Part 21.)
Series description: Many things were surely fucked up in the year 2038, but no-one ever told anyone how all of it went down. What happened before a group of people left for Seattle to handle personal matters? Why did one girl refuse to leave all of it be? And why there were so many dead in the end?
Quote for the chapter: “Kill or be killed? What a way to live and to die.” - Shawn James
Part summary: Seattle was just starting to show its true colors to you - the things you were going through were just the begging. It was all going to be worse when you found out that Seattle is in a middle of a war.
A/N: So... I didn’t know we’re going to spend so much time in Seattle, but at this moment, it seems to last at least eight chapters before we even get to Abby? I mean, that’s a lot. But I want to stay true to the cannon... At least partially.
Warnings: Gore, blood, murder, infected, guns, shooting... Bros... This is going to be gross... And it will be worse than this.

Seattle, day first - afternoon:
Waking up while your head is dizzy and your body is covered in sticky, warm liquid always feels strange - especially when you can't recall what happened earlier. Naturally, the more you stressed when you realized you're between someone's legs and their palm is covering your mouth. The first instinct was to drag to hand down immediately, so you started to wiggle and jerked around to free yourself because you felt endangered. Soon, you realized you knew material of the jacket you've been tugging on. Joel's thighs tightened around your waist to hold you in place as the man looked behind to corner to see if your awakening attracted some attention.
But soon, it was apparent that the people who Joel heard outside, didn't know about you. So finally, he put his arm down, letting you go. But you didn't move away from him - your eyes got frozen on your jacket covered in the blood. Slowly, you looked around to see the dead animal. It was your fucking horse you've been riding for the last few years you lived in Jackson. Sure, Sadie wasn't your property, but Cat never gave you a different horse than your girl. When you rode out of Jackson, you rode out on Sadie's back. And now, it was dead.
You saw what happened. She ran into a shop window and cut her throat open. But you couldn't recall what had caused it. Slowly, you wanted to stand up, but your stomach turned upside down and you almost fell back on your ass. The man reached out for you and caught your elbow. He put his hands around your face to see what you've been looking like - if you're seemingly alright at least. And you were. But as you slowly gathered consciousness, you noticed a big piece of glass in his upper left arm.
"Are you okay, baby girl?" - The man furrowed at you, smoothing a sweet spot under your eye. - "Do you see me twice, your head spinnin', does somethin' on your body hurt real bad?" - He whispered. Jesus, that guy could be so sweet when he wanted to. And he usually did got sweet around you.
"Just... A slight headache, but I'm fine, I think. What about you? Any other wounds other than this thingy sticking out of your arm?" - You asked back, still trying to remember what even happened back there - there was something that had to happen for Sadie to just run into the glass, right? She didn't panic on her own.
"No, the road blowin' up didn't do a number on me, I swear." - Joel looked at you. Oh, damn, that was what happened. The road under Ellie and Dina blew up - and because you and Joel rode quite back behind them, you were fine. More or less. With a furrow, you walked to the horse saddles and went through it. Your feet were sticking to the floor because of the blood - and Sadie's body was still warm. You couldn't be out for a long time.
"What are you doin'?" - Joel asked and you pointed at his upper arm. - "'s nothin', I swear. We take care of it once we find Dina and Ellie. They took 'em." - The man wanted to stop you just when you took out one of his fresher shirts. His jacket was more or less fine, when you ignored the tear in the sleeve, so that didn't need to be changed. But it was drenched in blood too. No way in fucking hell he would be going after the girls in that state. Your man maybe had the right balls to do so, but he wasn't going anywhere with blood flowing out of his arm.
"You sit your ass down. We'll take care of it and then we head out to search for them. Who took them?" - You asked and waited until he takes the jacket off. For a while, Joel was staring at you with a furrow, but then he sighed and sat down, taking off the jacket so you'd have full access to the wound. It didn't seem to be too drastic or deep, but that didn't mean it was a nice sight. You hoped that Joel would be able to lift his gun at least.
"WLF, I suppose, but I just know it were some strangers." - The man sighed, watching as you just ripper the torn apart sleeve off the shirt to get a good look at his arm. Gently, you pulled the glass out, focusing on being the gentlest you could, but a few grunts left Joel anyway. When that was done, you cleaned it up and waited for the blood flow to stop. There was no time to waste, so you only provided him with quick, yet precise stitches and covered the wound in a few bandages, making sure it's at least cleaned up properly. - "You heard where they're taking them?" - You asked and gave him the other shirt to change into, pulling a few of his and your pieces of underwear and t-shirts out of the bag in case you'd tear some apart or something.
"Yea, some building a mile from here. We should be there quickly. Do you still have the map on you, girl?" - Joel asked back as he buttoned up the shirt. You nodded, pulling it out of a small pocket in your backpack, opening it up. You were both watching it for a moment before Joel pointed in the direction of the downtown - "'kay, so we should be here. And they put them... Here." - He mouthed, looking down on you. You nodded with a furrow, counting the streets.
"How do you know where they took them specifically?" - A whisper left you as you arched your eyebrows, licking your lips. Quickly, you made a small X on the map to remember where Joel pointed. You both put together some basic supplies like ammo, food, and first aid kits for the case of an emergency. - "They weren't exactly quiet 'bout what they were about to do. These people are... Gatherin' supplies to attack some spot near Seattle. Don't know who they are attackin', but that's it. And they put them in one of the hoardin' centers to be sure girls won't try to escape." - The man explained to you. That... Made sense, you guessed. So, this was your first official encounter with the WLFs, huh? They just blow up the road under your asses. You probably weren't even meant to blow up, they prepared the place for someone else - but they took what they could get.
"We're lucky they didn't notice us. We could've been in limbo for hours before they came to check the spot... They probably just noticed Dina and Ellie." - Joel told you again and you had to say that it would make sense. Hunters usually didn't check around their booby traps - the went straight just for the big prize. Sadie rode off the road when Joel lost control over her - she could've run quite far before riding into the glass. - "And 'bout what happened earlier..." - Joel whispered when he put the jacket on, following you outside the building.
"Not now, Joel." - A tired whimper left your lips as you tried to shake the dizziness out of you. Your perception of the reality around was still a bit shaken, but it was slowly getting better and better. But the man didn't seem to want to drop the topic at the moment.
"I want you to know that I will guard you the whole time. At any cost. And even though I'm not an ideal man, I love you." - The man poured his heart out just to meet a wall of a cold stare and emotionless expression. When you said you're not in the mood for this sort of heart to heart talk, you meant it. And Joel had to respect your boundaries. The sight of destruction showed you exactly where the bomb had blown up - and Shimmer was laying there, lifeless as well. Someone had to take everything out of the saddlebags in a hurry. There was no sing of Dina or Ellie ever being there other than two silhouettes of woman bodies printed into the stiffened horse blood.
"Nothing other than Shimmer here." - You told Joel when you inspected the area around the body, hoping Joel knew where you two were going. Every second could cost the girls their lives. There was a while of silence when you walked through Seattle's downtown, trying to find the way to the street. Not even for a second, you let your guard down. Every leaf scratching the road, every drop hitting the ground or just the sounds of corrosion and ruined buildings filling your head. It didn't take too long before you walked to a dead end. - "Fuck..." - You groaned, taking the map out of your backpack to take a look at it. - "The street is right behind it. We need to get through somehow, or walk around the barricade, which can add up hours." - A sigh left you as you noticed that Joel had already left your side. His head was moving as he searched for any possible way - and being the survivor he was, he found what he was searching for. His finger pointed at a hole in the wall which was pretty high up.
"You'll go in and unlock the door for me, okay, doll?" - The man asked you, leaning his back into the wall behind him. Gently, he slapped his thigh and prepared you a small parry space out of his palms. This probably wasn't a good idea, but, what else were you supposed to do? There was no way in hell you'd walk around the city to look for a different way to get to the WLF place. But the house could have some infected inside who would kill you in an instant. The true question was - what other options you had? None. That was the answer. None.
So you nodded, lifting your foot to Joel's palms, catching his shoulders in the process, waiting to be lifted. With that, you caught the old man looking at you. - "What?" - "Just... Open the door for me. No scavaging, if you'd see infected, we'll finish them off together, yea?" - Joel asked which had you nodding against your will. And so, he straightened up, helping you climb through the hole. Yeah, sure, you were caught off guard and surprised with what you've found out about Joel, but... The care he was giving you was making you sure he cares about you a lot.
With a muffled sigh, you slipped into the building, falling straight on your knees because your balance fucked up for a second there. You've stayed silent for a moment to hear if anything has noticed the noises you made, but the house seemed to be silent - until you've heard the silent voices coming from the other building standing to your right hand. - "That was a fucking loud bang, Emily. I'll go to look at what it was." - A man told a woman before you heard first footsteps coming your way. For a second, you panicked, until you saw a big cabinet pushed to cover the door - you could take cover there before the man leaves the building alone. You'd swear that you hadn't breathed so loud ever before. Forcefully, you pushed a hand on your lips to calm down a bit, trembling as a dog kicked into its stomach.
The heavy footsteps were getting closer and closer and you'd swear that you couldn't hear anything but your heartbeat and the blood rushing through your veins. Dina was right - the adrenaline rush was intensive. If Joel wouldn't be waiting behind the door, you most likely would search for your gun or just try to stab him with your knife do defend yourself. But you just pressed your back into the wall more, straightening along the side of the cabinet. Your only luck was that the man didn't go to the back of the room - his flashlight illuminated the floor just a few inches in front of your boots and you tried to hold your breath.
"It's clear here. Let's get done with the crates!" - The man yelled at Emily and the sounds of footsteps started to recede into the silence of the house. When you were sure that he's far away enough, you leaned your shoulder into the door, pushing the cabinet away. Your ears heard it so loudly and clearly - every small sound the wooden floors made, every creek of the cabinet, each of your inhales. But the man or the woman didn't hear you, which made you breathe out when you turned the lock and opened the door for Joel. The man looked visibly agitated, yet as soon as he saw that you're okay with his very own eyes, he let out a long breath. He nodded at you, smoothing your cheek with his palm.
"Can you stop for a second?" - Joel asked you when you made your way throughout most of the ruined and corroded buildings, having a clear sight of the WLFs outside. At least a portion of them. - "If you want another heart-to-heart, I swear to motherfucking God," - "Do you know how to take someone out silently?" - The man whispered back at you, have you completely lost in what he was saying for a minute. When you weren't answering, Joel kneeled, pushing you down as well. - "Listen. It's not as complicated as it seems do be, but if you fuck up any small thing, they know about us, rite? We need to do this simply." - The man slowly pulled your knife out of the holster on your leg, showing you how to grab it.
"Your free hand goes for their mouth. Cover their lips and push your elbow into their shoulder to hold them in one place. Sure, they will be tryin' to wiggle out, but you need to try to get them on the ground, you with me?" - Joel asked, looking you in the eyes. Slowly, you nodded, watching his palms toying around with the knife. - "First, you catch the knife like this," - The man told you and put your fingers around the handle, making sure you're holding it tight. - "And to push it in, lean your palm into the top. Just like when you hammer nails." - His palm moved, showing you what he meant by that. The instructions were too much for you to remember. Of course, Joel noticed the panic in your eyes.
"Listen." - His palms held both your shoulders, his head leaned into your forehead. - "You know most of this. Clickers don't stand a chance against you - but these people have a system and safe words, so you can't let them make any sound. You'll know what to do once you get into it. Stay behind me - see those two?" - Joel pointed with his fingers to show you two WLFs on your right. - "I have the right one, you have the one on the left, 'kay?" - The man asked and gave you the knife back, taking out his knife. He didn't give you a clue when he started to crouch forward, so you followed his lead.
The woman who was showing her back was a human being. But previous experience showed you that she wouldn't waste a second before aiming straight for your head. These maniacs had Ellie and Dina cuffed somewhere inside the building - and they even blew up a motherfucking road. They were something like Clickers. It was you, or them. Survival of the fittest... Of sorts.
So when Joel jumped for the guy's neck, you went to grab Emily as well and tried to do as he instructed you to. You put your palm over the woman's lips so only muffled curses and sounds coming out of her filled the surroundings for a moment. She was struggling a lot, almost pushing you to the ground - and in the passion of the moment, you grunted and pushed the knife inside the side of her neck. It was weirdly stiff when it went in, and again, you've listened to Joel's advice, hammering the blade deeper in. The body was still twitching when you felt the first drops of blood on your fingers. Soon, as you took the knife out, drops changed into gallons of the liquid. And dear Lord, did you want to throw up at the moment. The liquid was hot and sticky on your skin.
To stay quiet, you slowly lowered down with the weakening body, laying it down on the asphalt. Quickly, you wiped the blade into on your thighs, looking at Joel. His expression was unreadable as he nodded at you. You followed his lead through the ruins of an old office complex - you both tried to stay as quiet as possible, motioning in the direction of any WLF with your eyes or your head.
The man tried to take out as many as he could to protect your consciousness and to stop the incoming remorses - but you took out a few more guys who almost detected you. And soon enough, you heard gunshots - and Ellie's voice screaming some loud curse words. A relaxed sigh came out of you. The girls were alive, so none of it came in vain. Any time you got the courage to kill one of the WLFs, you repeated that you're doing it for them and that it's you or them. As soon as Joel was sure that your way will cross Ellie's, he got in his feet and loaded his revolver. Still following his lead, you pushed the knife back, taking the bow off your back. - "Stay back. Hide if you want." - Joel whispered, putting his hand on the doorknob. Yet your daring grin as your finger stretched the bow chord.
"Move forward. We have people to save here." - You whispered and tugged one arrow out of the quiver, getting it ready. This reminded Joel of Maria and of the day when Baldwin happened - just like then, there were two lives on the line. And you weren't giving up on them. Joel led you through another maze of office rooms until you had a girl on your gunpoint. You almost let the arrow go - but in the last moment, you realized you were looking at Ellie. And when that information clicked inside your brain, your eyes teared up as you walked to her and hugged her.
"Jesus fucking Christ." - Ellie mumbled to your hair, checking your face briefly. Your cheek was bruised - which happened when Sadie rode into the glass, but you seemed to be more or less okay. Quickly, you both hid under a wall. - "What's that on your hands?" - Ellie mumbled and leaned out to check on the situation, seeing Joel and Dina already regrouped in the corridor. There was a long silence, but as she looked at you, she saw the numb expression you had on your face. Which told her not to ask more questions.
The escape from the building was hasty, you barely got a moment to take a breath. But when you did, and there was no possibility WLF could follow you, Joel barricaded the door and you fell flat on your knees and tried to puke. But nothing came out of your lips. Ellie was mumbling about some letter she found in some boy's pocket, but Dina wasn't listening to her. She kneeled, helping you back on your feet. - "Breathe for me, come on. In and out. In and out. Just like that, baby, yeah. You did well." - The girl caught your cheeks to her palms, smiling at you. - "If there wasn't for you and Joel, Ellie and I would have died." - She mumbled, kissing your forehead. Ellie followed Dina and kneeled next to you, smoothing your upper arm. - "She's right. You saved our asses. Both of you." - Joel was standing a bit away from you, watching the whole situation. He'd expect that you'd freak out after killing the woman, but you got into it pretty fast.
What was strange was that now you weren't that bothered. The remorse wasn't as deep as it was before, which was almost scaring you more than killing someone. Was your consciousness getting numb to taking someone else's life? That was too fast. No. Maybe it was the rest of the adrenaline flowing through your veins, making your hands shake and stomach contract. But... It wasn't as bad as before.
"You good now?" - Ellie asked when you sat on your ass, waiting before you nodded with an exhale. Quickly, you stretched the back of your next before letting Dina pulling you up on your knees. - "'kay. You still have that map with you?" - The girl asked and pulled out the letter again, showing you a picture of some random girl. Dina chuckled upon seeing that photograph, whistling nastily. - "What? She's hot." - The girl grinned and showed you a photo with her name. Some Leah or who the fuck that was.
"She's with them." - Ellie mumbled from reading the letter and looking at the map. At that, Dina looked at the photograph once more. - "Well, fuck her too then." - Ellie gave the photo back to Ellie as you watched the girls talking about the map and the letter. Slowly, you licked your lips and walked to Joel, smoothing his shoulder, checking on him. Only that alone made him smile at you, kissing the top of your head as he pulled you closer.
"The TV station. It's here, behind the tall buildings. Does anyone see tall buildings?" - Ellie turned her head back at you. To look around, you both turned your heads from the collapsed wall, but Dina was already pointing back to the downtown. The redhead snickered, nodding at that. And so, you were set on your way once again. You were walking through Seattle at a fairly fast pace - there were for of you, so you could overcome barriers easily. With meeting some infected and one small group of WLFs, it took you two hours before you saw the horse. Some bodies were shot - the blood was fresh and it was mostly the infected laying around. You walked straight to the dead horse, closing your eyes when your fingers graced over the burnt in mark on the animal's thigh - this was Tommy's horse. And the saddlebacks were empty.
Yet when you woke up from the small trance again, Dina was puking on your right hand, having Ellie smoothing her back. - "This isn't too old, so we better stay sharp. Maybe Tommy isn't that far off and maybe we'll meet him inside the TV station." - You looked at the others. Because there was no reason to stop, you continued forward - and the TV station was closer and closer. Oh boy, the road to the building was filled with booby-trapped explosive - one wrong step and you all would end up in pieces. But Joel and Ellie gladly took out the bombs for you, since they had some experience with it already from someone that they called Bill.
In the end, you were all climbing inside the building. First, it seemed that it's just empty... Until you noticed the small puddles of blood on the ground and drops of it on the walls. Ellie noticed too and both figured out the same conclusion - someone was there recently. Which was confirmed when you walked to the former TV news studio. Your breath hitched when you watched the scenery. Four people were hanged on cables coming out of the big camera machines. Each of them had their belly sliced, so there was another big puddle of blood under them. - "Did... Did Tommy did this?" - Dina mumbled, watching the dead people. - "No." - Joel mumbled, and just when Ellie was about to ask why is he so sure, he pointed on some form of a ritual symbol drawn from the WLFs' blood.
"This doesn't look like Tommy's work." - Joel assured all of you, still looking at the hanging bodies. This was bestial, brutal almost. Ellie came closer to the scenery, looking at it. - "They said they have some... Kind of a problem here in Seattle." - She told you and Joel when you left the place, searching for where to go next. - "Listen, I didn't hear all of it and I certainly didn't know what these fuckers are talking about, but there's someone called the scars. I've seen a drawing back there, so I tried to draw it." - She said, getting her notebook out for Joel and you. It was some old, black-haired woman inside white flowers, doing some religious mumbo jumbo. - "I have a feeling this is her people's doing." - Ellie put the notebook down and you all got silent again.
As you made your way through the building, there was a lot of fucking stuff on your mind. So, there wasn't only the WLFs in Seattle. There was another group that you didn't encounter yet - some religious motherfuckers, as it seemed. Dear Lord, were these shooting on sight as well? You hoped that at least with these people, you might have a chance to talk it out somehow. That would be just perfect. What you'd stubbled into? It seemed that the WLFs are at war with someone. Which sucked shit in your opinion.
And dear Lord, you found Leah in the next five minutes. She was laying there in a huge puddle of blood, her body was pierced with arrows. Which somehow managed to look even more savage than the ones Joel taught you how to make. - "Jesus, the universe wanted this girl dead, huh?" - Dina mumbled upon watching the dead body while Ellie went straight for the bag. - "Is this the girl who..." - Dina looked at you as you kneeled beside Leah as well. Quickly, you shook your head, watching her. Someone wanted her dead and it was plausible that it could be the religious sect who hanged the people on the lower floor. It was a more probable solution.
"Look at this. Y/N... Can you come here?" - Ellie asked upon finding of ten Polaroid photographs in Leah's bag. There were the people who managed to escape them. And these photos were taken near Jackson. Each of them. Dina looked on the photo as well, stopping Ellie at one particular one of a short-haired woman who was sitting there in a tight winter west, sending the camera a big smile. She was the one who asked you if you're doing okay.
"This one. Jesse, Diego, and I met her just a moment before we found you down there. She wasn't armed and she looked so scared that before any of us rose our guns, she managed to get away." - Dina told you the small backstory. - "If she wasn't with the people who had done... That to you and Tommy, she'd be quite nice." - The black-haired girl assumed, looking the woman's face. Her name was Melanie. Melanie.
For a moment, Ellie went through the other photos. And when you saw their fucking faces fairly close to each other. Both of them were smiling, looking straight into the camera. Ellie was the first to realize who you've been looking on. The corners of your lips started to twitch as your brain searched for any word that would come to mind.
"Owen and Abby." - She whispered when she leaned in to inspect the picture over your shoulder. Gently, her fingers took away the photo, looking at these two fuckers smiling into the camera. She already felt her breath hitching as anger started to cover her consciousness. - "We hunt them down like fucking animals. I promise." - The girl whispered just when you heard sounds coming from the lower floors. The WLFs had arrived after the massacre done by the cultists.
Joel wanted you to stay back for the sake of your mental situation - but you weren't planning on staying back. Seeing Abby smiling, being happy just hours before she massacred you was offending you. It had woken up hatred inside of you.
Each life you took brought up a different set of feelings. You weren't as shaken as you were the day you've met the hunters in the woods with Joel. Sure, you still weren't feeling the greatest about taking someone else's life - but these people were affiliated with Abby. All you were going for was leaving a message for the woman. You were after her and you weren't slowing down. Each of them met her at some point, they had joked around, greeted each other, or ate their food together.
The anger woke up the animalistic side you didn't know you had inside of you - with every stab to the neck, you desired to hear them scream, beg for their lives just to feel the satisfaction growing inside of you. Thank God the more rational side didn't leave you, telling you to cover their mouths properly. And in the end, when the building finally got quiet, you were just standing there and looked at the path of the dead bodies you left behind. This was all Abby's doing. She got inside your head, making you thirst for revenge. The thirst wasn't even that strong until you saw her fucking face again. With a sigh, you massaged your face, taking in a deep breath without realizing that you're smudging the blood all over your cheeks and forehead.
"Are you good, baby girl?" - Joel asked you, making you look at him. Tiredly, you nodded, cleaning the knife on your trousers again. - "We need to leave. Let's go." - The man told all of you, already making his way out of the place.
You hadn't been tired as much ever in your life. Seattle was taking its hold on you - the whole day, ever since you arrived, you hadn't stopped to take at least a shallow breath. Your muscles hurt for a fair amount of time and the more you were walking, the more you were feeling the horse incident taking a hold on you. Again, your stomach was clenching and your head was aching. But you met another group on your way and crossing the former subway track was a living nightmare since it all concentrated there - Jesus, you'd swear you'd never seen so many enemies in one place.
"'kay, we have spores ahead, so keep your masks on." - Joel turned to everyone and in the next minute, each of you adjusted the masks on your faces. Yet this time, Ellie took the role of the group leader on her shoulders again, leading you through the old subway wagons. It was probably for the better there was four of you. Dina was puking a lot, you were feeling as if you'd pass out any minute, Joel had fucked up upper arm and Ellie was just fucking tired. But even if you were all done in a sense, you could still help each other to overcome the barriers. The day way settling down, so you needed that you had to find some safe place where you could rest. As you looked around on the empty wagons, suddenly, one of them collapsed under Ellie.
"I'm coming!" - Dina screamed and ran after he immediately as she saw the some infected ran to her girlfriend laying on her back. Joel first checked on you and then, he helped you down from the steep, wet metal. Dina fired a few rounds, but when you climbed down, she was looking at Ellie in shock. And you saw Joel's eyes widen as well. Soon, you realized why.
Ellie's mask was broken. She was breathing in spores that were everywhere around you. But, weirdly, she wasn't coughing. The words that were said? You couldn't catch one because you were just staring at Ellie taking off her mask - and the sounds of incoming infected were making you unfocused as well. - "I'm immune. I'm immune. Fuck." - Ellie muttered out, holding Dina's palms as you changed the magazine inside your gun and Joel did the same with his revolver rounds.
"Kiddos, y'all need to talk about this later. Can y'all run?" - Joel asked, shooting the first infected on sight to their leg. Each of you nodded, both the girls taking out their guns as well. - "Then run!" - The man yelled at each of you, which turned some switch inside of you again. You still were tired and your thigh muscles were on fire as you ran on escalators and stairs with Dina right behind you, but you couldn't bring yourself to stop. It felt like a miracle when you saw the exit. There was a horde of Runners and Clickers tight behind your fucking ass, you couldn't stop to take at least a short breath. The sounds were getting closer and closer as your body crashed into the security gateway. Just after you ran through it, you fell on the ground and crawled away so the others could come through it as well. All you did was that you put your head down on the ice-cold wet tiles of the subway station floor, closing your eyes.
So, to recapitulate the whole day... Your horses were blown up, you lost and found Ellie and Dina, you killed at least twenty people, found out Ellie was immune and were almost killed by the horde of the infected. Well, when it thrives, it doesn't slow down, does it?

The Royal Romance - The Anniversary - Part 3
Liam awoke early from a restless sleep.  He had replayed last night’s conversation over and over in his head.  Heather was right, he was becoming his father.  He tried to think back to the very beginning, remind himself how things were when they were madly in love.  The thoughts and images came flooding back.  He remembered when he couldn’t stand to be away from her even for a minute.  How he couldn’t take his eyes off her.  How his heart jumped every time he saw her.  She was his every waking thought, every dream, every fantasy.  It wasn’t just love he felt for her back then, she consumed him.  His whole reason for being was her.  That intensity, that level of love is what he had to get back somehow.
_____
Heather woke up and got dressed.  She walked down the hall to Eleanor’s room to wake her up for her breakfast and morning lessons.
HEATHER – Good morning my sweetheart.
ELEANOR – Morning mommy.
HEATHER – It’s time to wake up.
ELEANOR – I’m still sleepy.
HEATHER – I know you are, but it’s time to get up.
ELEANOR – But why?
HEATHER – It’s breakfast time.  Then you have your morning lessons.  I believe you have reading with Mrs. Fitz today.
ELEANOR – Ok.  I guess.
Heather helps Eleanor get dressed then they head downstairs to breakfast. Liam is sitting at the table sipping some coffee and reading a newspaper.
ELEANOR – Good morning daddy!
LIAM – Good morning Ellie. Did you sleep well?
ELEANOR – Oh yes.  It was all cupcakes and rainbows.  How about you daddy?
LIAM – It was ok. Heather, did you sleep well dear?
HEATHER – Uh, yeah.
LIAM – So what are you plans for today Ellie?
ELEANOR – I have reading lessons today.  But can we play later daddy?
LIAM – Of course. What about you, Heather?  Any plans for today?
HEATHER – I may go in to town for a bit this morning.  I haven’t decided yet.
LIAM – Would you like some company?
HEATHER – I’ll be fine. Thank you.  If you’ll both excuse me.
Heather gets up from the table leaving Eleanor and Liam together.  She heads back up to her room and calls Drake.
DRAKE – Hey Heather.
HEATHER – Hey Drake. Um…are you busy today?
DRAKE – No.  I have the day off actually.  What’s up?
HEATHER – Can I come over for a little while?
DRAKE – Of course. You do understand you’re killing my Super Mario Bros. time, but I guess I can put it down for a little bit for you.
HEATHER – Thanks. I’ll be there soon.
DRAKE – Ok.  See you soon.
Heather goes back downstairs and asks one of the house staff to bring a car around for her.  Liam comes out of the dining room as the servant walks away.
LIAM – I’m sorry about last night.  I really did not mean to start an argument.
HEATHER – I know you didn’t. I know you had good intentions.  I just think you don’t think these things through all the way.
LIAM – I got excited about the possibility of being able to step back and just be with you.  And I didn’t think it through, you’re right.  I will come up with something, I promise.
HEATHER – Ok.
SERVANT – Your majesty, your car is ready.
HEATHER – Thank you. Liam, I’ll be back later.
LIAM – I will be here.
Heather leaves and drives to Drake’s apartment.
Drake opens the door for Heather when she arrives.  She plops down on the couch.
DRAKE – Rough morning?
HEATHER – The morning has been ok…last night was a whole different story.  I can’t take this anymore Drake.  I have to get out of here.
DRAKE – So, where do you want to go?
HEATHER – Drake, can I ask you something?
DRAKE – Anything.
HEATHER – Have you ever wondered about me?  I mean like my past.  Where I grew up, my parents, things like that?
DRAKE – Maybe a little. I just never really thought to ask, I guess.  Why?
HEATHER – If I tell you something, do you promise not to freak out or think of me differently?
DRAKE – Uh, ok.  Sure.
HEATHER – The times you were in Texas, have you ever heard of a place called North Fork Ranch?
DRAKE – Yeah, I think my mom mentioned it a couple times.
HEATHER – And have you ever heard of Riley Oil?
DRAKE – Vaguely.  Why the sudden interest in Texas?
HEATHER – Because that’s where I’m from.  Texas.
DRAKE – I thought you were from New York.
HEATHER – I moved to New York when I was 17, my junior year in high school.  After…after my parents died.
DRAKE – So you had family there?
HEATHER – No.  I just moved.  I had to get away and New York always seemed so cool and exciting, so I found a good private school, and I moved.
DRAKE – Ok.  I’m still not quite understanding.
HEATHER – Drake, what is my name?
DRAKE – Heather.
HEATHER – My full name?
DRAKE – Heather Riley.
HEATHER – Uh huh…
DRAKE – Riley…Riley Oil…you’re Heather Riley.  Oh my God. You’re Riley Oil.
HEATHER – Yeah.
Drake just stares at her for a long moment.  Looking at her like he’s seeing her for the first time.
HEATHER – Drake, say something.
DRAKE – I just…wow. Why didn’t you say something sooner?
HEATHER – Everyone was so content with me just being Heather, the broke waitress from New York. So, I went with it.  Well, that was me, but not all at the same time.
DRAKE – This explains so much.  How you were able to afford all those gowns and events, how you knew exactly what to do and say around the nobles. You’re like American royalty.
HEATHER – Basically. At least in Dallas I was.
DRAKE – Wow. Just…wow.
HEATHER – I’m guessing this changes how you see me now, huh?
DRAKE – Actually…no. I mean, you’re still the same person you were a few minutes ago.  Just with a whole lot more money.  Holy crap, you’re just as rich as Liam.  I mean Riley Oil is worth hundreds of billions of dollars.
HEATHER – Yeah.
DRAKE – Wow.  But you’re still so…normal.
HEATHER – Well, I was away from all that for 10 years before I moved here.
DRAKE – True. Huh.  Thanks for telling me.  Why the sudden interest to share your past?
HEATHER – I’ve been thinking a lot the past few days about going back.  Back to Texas.  Back to the ranch.
DRAKE – Ah.  Does Liam know?
HEATHER – About me leaving or about my past?
DRAKE – Both?
HEATHER – He knows I want to go somewhere, but he doesn’t know where. And you are the only one here I have told about anything from my past. Daniel is the only other person who knows everything.
DRAKE – Oh wow.  You trust me that much?
HEATHER – Of course. After everything we’ve been through, honestly I should have told you sooner.
DRAKE – Huh.  So, when are you leaving?
HEATHER – I don’t know yet. Soon.  Like maybe in the next couple days.  I don’t want to use the royal jet because then Liam will be able to track where I went. And it’s not like I can drive there.
DRAKE – True.
HEATHER – I may call the company and see if I can borrow the corporate jet for a couple days.
DRAKE – Well, keep me posted.  I can go with if you want.
HEATHER – That would be great, but I think for now I just need to be on my own.  Well, just me and Ellie.
DRAKE – I understand.
HEATHER – So…ready to get your butt kicked on some Super Mario Bros.?
DRAKE – Oh…bring it on!!
___
Liam paced the floor in the grand ballroom thinking.  Last night’s effort to prove himself to Heather was a complete failure.  He needed to do something to show her how much she truly meant to him.  Then inspiration hit him.  He called for a servant.
SERVANT – Yes, your majesty?
LIAM – I want to plan a surprise for the queen.  I’ll need a cake just like the one we had at our wedding.  Chocolate mocha with buttercream frosting, designed exactly the way we had our cake.
SERVANT – Of course, sir. When would you like it?
LIAM – As soon as they can get it here.  I’ll also need all the peach roses you can get and have them set up here in the ballroom.
SERVANT – Of course. I’ll call the florist right away.
LIAM – And, Heather’s dress she wore at the reception.  Could you get that and have it in her room ready for her to wear?
SERVANT – Definitely. I know exactly where it is, sir.
LIAM – And two bottles of our wine that we had at the wedding, chilled with two glasses.
SERVANT – Is there anything else, sir?
LIAM – Music.  We’ll need music.  And possibly something to eat.  I’ve got it…a simple pasta with red sauce for two.
SERVANT – I will start making the preparations right away.  When would you like everything set up, sir?
LIAM – As soon as possible. I don’t know how long Heather will be gone and I’d like to have it all ready when she returns.
SERVANT – We’ll have it ready your majesty.
LIAM – Thank you.
Liam clasps his hands behind his back, a small satisfied smile on his face. Recreating their wedding reception, but just for the two of them.  Without the kidnapping and threat of imminent death, of course.  And the meal they shared together at the Beaumont estate as their first date.
LIAM – Oh…Heather’s sword. We’ll need that as well to cut the cake. If I’m doing this, I may as well go all the way.
About an hour later delivery trucks begin arriving at the palace.  Workers bring in vases upon vases of peach roses and line them along the walls of the ballroom. The baker delivers a perfect replica of their wedding cake and sets it up on a table along one side.  Liam places Heather’s sword in front of the cakes. Heather’s dress is laying on their bed waiting.  The music is ready.  Liam has the remote in his pocket.  A cook from the kitchen finds Liam pacing in the ballroom.
COOK – The items you requested for the meal are ready your majesty.  I can have everything ready in about 15 minutes when you tell us you’re ready.
LIAM – Excellent. Thank you.
Everything was coming together nicely.  Now he needed to change.  Digging through the closet in the bedroom he found the white formal suit he wore for their wedding and put it on.  He headed back down to the ballroom.  The servants were finishing setting up.  One small table was set up with two chairs. Two taper candles and a small bouquet of peach roses sat on the table. The swirling colored lights glowed and swayed across the dance floor.
SERVANT – Is there anything else you require your majesty?
LIAM – When the queen arrives, could you please make sure she goes straight up to the bedroom and changes into her dress?  Then have someone escort her here.
SERVANT – Of course sir.
Liam looked at his watch. It was almost noon.  He didn’t want to rush her if she was busy, but he was also getting anxious to show her his surprise.  He decided to send her a message to check on her.
TEXT TO HEATHER – My darling, will you be much longer?  I wondered if we could have lunch together.
Then…he waited.
_____
DRAKE – Seriously? What is that 10 times you’ve kicked my butt?  Ok…I give up. You are the Mario Bros. master.
HEATHER – I told you I was good at this.  Not my fault you didn’t believe me.
DRAKE – And here I thought I was your friend, not your whipping boy.
HEATHER – Ha ha ha ha ha. Only when it comes to Mario Bros. How’s that?
DRAKE – Fine.  You getting hungry?
(Heather’s phone buzzes.)
HEATHER – Yeah, actually. Ugh...hang on a sec.
Heather checks her phone and reads the message from Liam.
HEATHER – Rain check on lunch?  Liam wants to have lunch together.
DRAKE – Sure.  Still giving him a chance, huh?
HEATHER – I told him I’d give him 24 hours.  He has 3 left.  Might as well go with it.
DRAKE – Alright.  Talk to you later.
Heather leaves Drake’s apartment and drives back to the palace.  She parks the car in front and gets out heading to the door.  A servant opens the door for her before she can reach the handle.
SERVANT – Welcome home your majesty.  If you would follow me, please.
HEATHER – Um, ok.
The servant leads Heather up to the bedroom.
SERVANT – The king requested you wear the dress laid out for you.  When you’re ready I will escort you to the ballroom.
HEATHER – The ballroom? Is there some spontaneous ball I wasn’t informed about?
SERVANT – No ma’am. Just let me know when you’re ready.
HEATHER – Uh, ok.
Heather closes the door to the bedroom and sees her reception dress laying on the bed.
HEATHER – What the heck is going on?  Why does he want me to wear this? Hopefully it still fits.
Heather changes into the white sparkling dress.  It fit perfectly.  She finds some white shoes in the closet and puts those on.  She touches up her makeup and fixes her hair a little more formally. Then she opens the door where the servant is waiting for her.
SERVANT – Right this way ma’am.
The servant leads Heather to the doors of the ballroom.  She knocks, then leaves Heather alone in front of the large double doors.
Liam opens the door. When he sees Heather standing there in her dress, he almost faints.
LIAM – You look absolutely breathtaking my love.
Heather notices Liam is wearing his formal suit from their wedding.  He looks gorgeous…to the point she’s speechless.
Liam takes her hand and leads her into the ballroom.  As she scans the room, candles and roses line the walls, a small table for two sits in the center of what would normally be the large seating area.  Everything looks amazing.
HEATHER – What is all this?
LIAM – I wanted to surprise you.  Happy Anniversary my darling.  I know it’s a little late, and I am so very sorry for that.
HEATHER – Liam, this is beautiful.  Is that our wedding cake?
LIAM – Yes.  I tried to recreate everything.  Well, the good parts.  I guarantee there will be no kidnapping and no assassination attempts. Only you and me, together.
Liam leads Heather to the table and pulls out the chair for her to sit down.  He sits down I the chair opposite her and the cook brings out the two dishes of simple pasta.
HEATHER – This looks like the dinner we had at the Beaumont estate.  Our first date you called it.
LIAM – Exactly.  I wanted everything to be perfect, just like you.
HEATHER – Liam, this…this is absolutely amazing.  I…I don’t know what to even say.
LIAM – You don’t have to say anything.  As long as we’re together, that’s all that matters.
When they finish eating, Liam stands and extends his hand to Heather.  She takes it and he leads her to the dance floor.  He pushes the play button on the remote in his pocket.
LIAM – May I have this dance?  (Bryan Adams – Everything I Do begins playing)
HEATHER – I would love to.
Liam holds Heather in his arms as they sway to the music.  Holding her so close, he actually begins to feel a little nervous and shakes a little.
HEATHER – Are you ok? You’re shaking.
LIAM – I’m fine.  Just a little nervous actually.
HEATHER – Why are you nervous?
LIAM – I haven’t been this close to you in quite a while.  Which is my own fault, I know.  I just forgot how good it feels to hold you like this.  I feel like I did the first time I saw you all those years ago in New York.  You took my breath away then, and you still do now.
HEATHER – Liam…
As the song begins to fade they pull apart just a bit.  Liam stares down into Heather’s eyes.  A soft, sweet smile on his face as he soaks in every feature of her face.
LIAM – You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my entire life.  I promise you here and now that I will never take you for granted again.  I love you, Heather.
HEATHER – I love you too.
Liam cups his hand on the side of Heather’s cheek pulling her mouth up to him.  He kisses her gently, closing his eyes and floating with the touch of her lips against his.  His had sliding to the back of her neck, the other around her waist, holding her close, feeling her heart beat against his chest.  Heather wraps her arms around Liam as the kiss turns more and more passionate and heated.  She begins to grab and bunch up the back of his jacket with her fingers as their tongues touch and swirl together.  She lets out a soft moan.  After what seems like forever and mere seconds, they part, staring at each other.
HEATHER – There you are.
LIAM – Here I am.  And I’m not going anywhere.  At least not anywhere without you right by my side, always.
HEATHER – I missed this. I almost forgot how hot you are. And how good it feels to be in your arms and kiss you like that.
LIAM – Me too.
Liam gives Heather a small seductive smirk, then kisses her again, sliding his hands down her back to her hips.
Heather begins to melt into Liam.  His kiss reminded her of their first kiss that day in Paris.  Heat and desire emanating from him.  Her legs began to go weak. The room disappeared around her.  The only thing grounding her were his lips and tongue against hers.  She hadn’t felt this much intensity, this much desire, this much pure need in a long time.  With great hesitation, she pulls away from him, staring deeply into his sparkling brown eyes.
HEATHER – Upstairs…Now.
LIAM – I was hoping you would say that.
Liam grabs Heather’s hand as they leave the ballroom and head upstairs to their bedroom.  A servant sees them and begins to say something. Heather holds up a hand to silence the servant as they make their way up the stairs.
Once inside the room, the door is barely closed before Liam practically jumps at Heather, kissing her with such heat, passion and desire that she is nearly knocked over.  Their lips parted, tongues intertwined, caressing each other. They each begin working the fastenings of each other’s clothes without breaking the kiss. Touching and rubbing each other’s newly exposed bare skin.
When their clothes have finally been removed and thrown all over the room, Liam holds Heather tightly in his arms, sliding his hands gently down her body from her shoulders, down her back, to her hips and buttocks.  A small moan of pleasure escapes him.
Heather slides her hands down the front of Liam, his shoulders, his strong muscular chest, and down further.
LIAM – Oh my God I want you.
HEATHER – Then come have me.
With her hand slowing rubbing and gliding up and down Liam’s hardness, she leads him to the bed. Kissing and running their hands all over each other, he lays her down, then starts kissing her entire body starting with her feet, up her calves, her thighs, then up in between.  She arches her back, leaning up into him.  The feel of his tongue and lips against her fuels the passion within her even more.  She closes her eyes only to see fireworks start going off behind her eyelids.  Just as the pleasure is about to overwhelm her, he slides up the rest of her body and slides himself inside of her.
The comfort of feeling him inside her again almost puts her over the edge instantly.  Heather wraps her legs around Liam’s waist and he begins rocking his hips against her.  They begin moving together as if molded to fit perfectly.  The intensity of passion and desire coming together with each thrust. After several minutes Liam quickens his pace readying himself for the release of pure pleasure.  Heather joins him and they both let out moans of ecstasy.
Liam slowly lays down beside Heather, holding her close in his arms, her head on his chest.  He takes deep breaths breathing in the sweet sensual smell of her. After a few minutes, Heather bolts up in bed.
HEATHER – There was cake downstairs.
LIAM – Yes, there is cake downstairs.
HEATHER – Let’s spring Ellie early from her lessons and have cake.
LIAM – That sounds wonderful.

Something Blue (part 4/15)
Please read it in AO3, this fic has soundtracks.
Summary: Now that Ziva is safe and can return to her family… Tony doesn’t waste any time. She’ll need to have something blue to go along with a white wedding gown.
Tumblr media
“Have we died and reached paradise or am I dreaming?” asked Nick looking up to the clear blue sky.
The team stood assembled at the bridge that connected the sea to the island, every single one of them laughing after dancing non-stop to the songs from the boat. Their tongues tasted of bubbly champagne and citric fruit, the wind playing with their hair and the hats that scaped occasionally from their heads. The early afternoon sun was reflected on the slow waves of the pier, seagulls a constant subject of the light blue sky, following the passengers from the boat to the coconut trees. White painted every surface, from the large circular domes to the infinite steep stairs of restaurants and balconies, mixed between wide, ancient stone walls separating the many houses.
Bright yellow flowers colored the wooden stakes of the bridge, intertwined with olive branches and other herbs. At the end of it, a small wooden sign was placed on the sand, an arrow pointing northeast to one side of the beach, next to a message in elegant handwriting.
Welcome to our beginning. Please, have lots of fun. - love, T and Z.
Little bare feet came running towards the group, raising sand on its way as the summer air filled with giggles.
She clung to Gibbs’ leg and looked up, a few strands of hair coming loose from her braid which was swinging in the wind. She wore a little white dress with a floral pattern. A big gap-toothed smile framed her face as he raised her to his arms, receiving a sweet kiss on the cheek on return.
“Hey, Tali,” he said softly as the other members of the team greeted her as well, making her shy for a moment when she hid her face on the crook of his neck, “where’s your father?”
“On your six, boss,” a familiar voice greeted them.
Gibbs had never seen Tony look so happy. He was tanned, small freckles painting his cheekbones and a wide grin displayed on his lips. Like his daughter, he was also barefoot, a Hawaiian shirt complimenting his look along with black sunglasses which he put on his front pocket.
“Finally you’ve arrived, I was starting to doubt if my specialist on weddings would come to support my own,” he added with a smile, squeezing Gibbs’ shoulder, “I promise it’ll only be one though, I don’t have your kind of vigor, boss.”
He received a head slap in return.
“Nothing changed, uh?”
“It never will, DiNozzo.”
Gibbs put Tali down for a moment to give a proper hug on his former agent, patting his back firmly.
“You’ve done well, son,” he whispered in his ear.
“Don’t you dare me make emotional right now, I have a feeling my eyes will sweat a lot during the weekend,” Tony replied with a smile.
They let go and Tony surveyed the team, clasping his hands together.
“Now to presentations,” he continued, “my fondest, warmest, kindest welcomes, everyone, it is a pleasure to have you here. I see old faces and new faces,” he glanced at Torres and Kasie and smiled, “and me and Tali here are glad that you came all the way from DC to witness this miracle. And where is the Rapunzel of the story? Well, funny you should ask, she’s currently going mad about the color of the table cloths and if we should put lights on or off in a wedding set at sundown. Who knew crazy Israeli ninja was so fond of this kind of stuff?”
“We all knew, Tony,” said Palmer.
“Yeah, yeah, that’s why I’m marrying her,” he replied with a warm smirk, “so… she told me she’d meet you up the hill, where you’ll be staying, with lots of food and drinks as an apology. Go easy on her, she still has a wedding to attend tomorrow and I’m quite scared she’ll go entirely Daenerys before it happens. Then I’ll have to marry McGroom and fulfill his lifetime secret dream.”
“Oh, give me a break, will you,” McGee huffed a laugh, his lips turning upwards instantly.
“You’ll never have a break from me, McDad. Never. I will hunt you when we both become ghosts, chasing you around the cemetery as I scream McBoooo,” he lifted Tali in the air, tickling her sides before putting her back down on the ground.
“How long have you been holding this joke?”
“Well, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you, Probie, now that you’re a dad of these little monsters, you’ve been quite busy, uh?” he winked to Delilah, “two of them running around the house-”
“Just you wait,” McGee replied with a grin.
“How indiscreet, McGoo, what are you-”
Abby coughed loudly, gesturing to the wooden sign with wide eyes.
“Oh, let’s get out of the sun immediately,” said Tony gratefully, “Ziva made a whole schedule we have to follow and, to be fair, it’s quite good. She should think about working with that instead of being a trained assassin.”
“Ladies, with me!” exclaimed Abby, a hand raised in the air, “I’ll be your greek tour guide for the weekend! Yaaay! We’ll go up the hill by van so we can appreciate our surroundings,” she winked to Delilah, who nodded thankfully from her wheelchair, “I’ll be the best guide there is, you’re lucky you didn’t end up with Tony.”
“Hey!” Tony complained with a smile, “no one knows how to have fun better than I do. Okay, guys and little monsters, with me! Apparently, Tali has everything already under control.”
“Mermaids!” was all Tali said, running towards Victoria next to Jimmy.
The group dispersed, going to different directions. Tony approached Ellie, who was standing next to the one of the faces he didn’t know. The guy wore a white tank top and a Panama hat, his arms sculped and a knowing smile on his lips.
“You must be the wuss,” said Tony holding his hand out.
“News fly,” Nick faltered for a moment and glanced at Ellie, cheeks a bit red.
“Wuss…?” she asked confused.
“Ziva told me you let her win a fight,” Tony intercepted with a knowing look at Bishop, “I’m impressed, rumors are she killed Houdini.”
“Houdini? As in the magician?” asked Ellie.
“She doesn’t recall all the names, she said,” answered Tony with a smile, twinkling eyes directed to Torres, “if you excuse us gentlemen, agent Bishop,” he kissed her hand, “we got to get to some donkeys.”
“DONKEYS?” asked Nick startled, a laugh escaping his lips.
“A big greek wedding, my friend, donkeys are a must.”
Tony wrapped an arm around the man’s shoulders, directing him towards the right path.
“Just so you know,” he muttered in a tone only Nick could hear, “I made my own personal mission to make you tell her how you feel by the end of this weekend.”
Nick glanced to Tony, who was casting him a mischievous smile.
“Then where’s the alcohol, bro?”
“I like you already.”
°°°
“One… two… three!” Tali placed her little legs on top of Tony’s shoulders, his hands firmly gripping her ankles from below, “push the button,” he said as he held his index finger high for Tali.
She pushed it slightly with her finger, just as her father yelled “HERE WE GO!” and started to swing his body from side to side. A moment later, a loud splash could be heard across the waves, the white seafoam coloring the crystal blue water. Tony emerged with Tali wrapped around his torso, happy giggles echoing all around on a sunny afternoon.
“Uncle Tim, Uncle Tim!” exclaimed Victoria, wearing bright pink arm floats and a little floral cap, as she pointed at something underwater, “there, I can see it!”
“Where?” he looked at the place she was showing, Morgan in his arms with wet pigtails, “oh, I see it. You’ve found a big one, good job!”
He let his daughter float at the slow waves as he dived down to grab something at the bottom of the ocean.
“Ooooh,” said Victoria out loud, hands on her cheeks, “can I touch it?”
“Yes, just do it slowly, it’s a little gooey,” said McGee as he held the shining orange starfish at the girls’ direction.
Vitoria’s little finger touched it softly, but she backed away as soon as she got to know its texture.
“No, no, I don’t wanna touch it,” said Morgan as she gripped her father’s arm hard.
“It’s okay, Morgan, let’s just put it back where it belongs then, uh?”
He dived again to put the starfish at the sand bottom and surfaced a moment later, Victoria already swimming to another location to search for a new sea creature.
“First you turn your hands into a vessel, like this,” Jimmy laid one hand atop of each other, “close it tight, like you’re gonna catch water, and then blow steady between your knuckles, like this.”
A loud high pitch whistle reverberated across the rocks they were sitting when Jimmy blew inside his hand, similar to the sound of a clear flute.
“Whoah, do it again!” exclaimed Johnny, trying to mimic his hands.
“Just like the Cherokee Indians,” Jimmy repeated the whistle, now changing the notes and creating a soft melodic pattern.
The coconut trees swayed with the wind, the rays of sunshine kissing their skin and marking their cheeks with soft freckles as it descended on the horizon. Minutes stretched into hours, and time turned fake in the children’s hands. It seemed infinite. The afternoon could go on forever.
It was paradise.
A loud whistle blew from the sand, revealing Senior calling the group with an energetic wave. He walked towards Gibbs, who was sitting in the shade carving up something out of a piece of wood.
“Can’t they stay like this forever?” asked Senior, a sad note in his voice.
“No,” Gibbs replied, looking to the horizon, eyes hard and sad, “no, they cannot.”
The children came running towards the plates of strawberries and pineapple, screaming with delight and raising clouds of sand in their wake. They threw themselves on the colorful pillows scattered on the sand floor, wet bodies splashing drops of seawater all around them. Their fathers came close behind, Tony shaking his body like a wet dog making everybody laugh.
“Palmer, can I talk to you for a sec?” he asked softly, after drying Tali’s wet hair with a towel.
“Yeah, of course,” Jimmy passed the coconut to McGee and got up, going with Tony towards the sea again.
Once their feet touched the waves, Tony turned to him, arms crossed and face furrowed in concern.
“Did you have the chance to bring it? I know I shouldn’t ask you that, it’s just, I think she would-”
Jimmy opened up a smile.
“What are you talking about? Of course I did, they don’t call me a man of honor for nothing,” he replied, squeezing Tony’s shoulders slightly, “don’t worry, my friend, everything’s gonna be fine. Great, even, you’ll see.”
“I’m not worried.”
Tony raised his clear eyes to Palmer, but the harsh laugh that escaped his lips revealed otherwise. The men laughed together, patting each other in the back and walking towards the children.
“Have you ever been closer to paradise than this place?” asked Torres, sitting on the slackline he had just proudly crossed, with sunkissed skin and eyes facing where the sky met the sea.
“Did you know the definition of ‘paradise’ ultimately comes from an Iranian word that the Greeks modified into paradeisos, meaning ‘enclosed park’,” answered Ducky, a bottle of cold water in his hand, “in Hellenistic Greek, “paradeisos” was also used in the Septuagint - an early Greek translation of Jewish scriptures - in reference to the Garden of Eden. So we are staying where the word came from.“
"I’m gonna take that as a no,” Nick replied laughing.
“I’ve arrived a little bit later than I’ve expected and I didn’t have the chance to see young Eleanor,” Ducky sent an amused look to Torres, “is she well?”
“You too, Ducky? Can’t no one give me a break?”
“Oh, I’m only asking, Nicholas, you seemed rather close,” but Ducky’s eyes were not so clueless.
“I’m sorry, yeah, yeah, she’s great,” Nick replied shrugging.
Ducky let out a charming laugh, looking up to the clear sky, “I think this is the worst-case scenario for someone to give you a break, Nick. We are at the wedding of another office couple, after all.”
“Another…?”
Nick pointed his index finger to Ducky and then put it on his lips, asking for silence, “please don’t go spreading out this idea to the others, Doctor Mallard.”
He stood up and with a surfboard under his arm, Nick raced towards the ocean. The wind was perfect for surfing at the calm waves.
Ducky reclined himself on his sun lounger, taking a sip of his cold water, “oh, I think they already know, kid,” he laughed to the sky.

“To your left. No, your other left. Yeah, up a little bit. A little bit more-”
A loud crash sounded when the glass jar shattered at the tiles, flowers and candles scattering everywhere. Ziva cursed in a foreign language, already bending down to the clean the mess on the floor.
“I’m sorry, Ziv,” said a younger cousin of her, who came along with her family from Tel Aviv to eat and dance for free, as well as try to help her with the numerous decorations. She was hanging the lights up in the olive trees, but there were so many of them to coordinate with the flowers and pieces of cloth, even Ziva was a bit confused with where to put them.
“It’s okay, Sorsha, I’ll handle it later,” she replied with a smile to the young girl standing up at the ladder, a guilty expression on her face.
“We still have to set the tables and wrap the gifts and talk to the band,” proceeded Ziva exasperated, sighing tiredly with the back of her hand rubbing her forehead.
“And test the lights,” added Sorsha, who now ticked things out of a small paper list, “and see if the cake turned out okay.”
“That Odette is taking care of, you can cross it out.”
“And welcome the guests.”
Ziva stopped where she stood and turned around as soon as she recognized that voice.
“Breena,” Ziva opened a wide grin to her old friend, who came running to hug her tightly, “I’m so glad you’re all here!”
Ziva greeted every one of them with a kiss on the cheek, bending down to talk to Delilah.
“You must be the one who finally stole Tim’s lion heart,” she said with a knowing glance.
“I know, I’m still shocked from time to time,” Delilah replied with a smile.
Ziva gave her a thankful nod, and no words were needed.
“Okay. Food. You must be starving,” she came back to her worried self, tying her hair into a knot, “I just need to check a few things.”
“Hey, are you okay?” asked Jack, her professional voice taking over, “Ziva, I think you need to relax for a bit. You’re the bride, remember? How can we help?”
“Take her out of here,” declared Odette, who was guiding two people with a large flower vase nearby, hands on her hips and a meaningful smile at Ellie, “or I will myself prohibit her getting any closer.”
“I’m- I’m sorry. I think I bit more than I can screw,” said Ziva, trying to recompose herself.
“What…?” asked Kasie, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“We called it Zivaisms,” answered Abby, grabbing Ziva’s arm and leading her towards the accommodations, not caring about any response, “when Tony is not around to correct her, we just ignore the weird and move on.”
“I tend to do a lot of ignoring the weird and moving on down at that lab,” remarked Kasie.
Abby looked at her with a wide grin, then started to jump up and down, not being able to contain her excitement. She let go of Ziva to run towards Kasie and hug her tightly, while the bride just burst out laughing with the scene, finally letting herself relax.
“We have so much to talk about,” said Abby, arm wrapped around Kasie’s shoulders, “what kind of music you play there now?”
“Uh-”
“It doesn’t matter, I’m so excited there’s finally someone who understands. YAAAY!”
They walked together until they arrived at the lodgings, stationed just above the sea, the white stone balconies disappearing among the many similar others along the coast. The air smelled of sea salt, dried herbs, and the feeling of freedom of a new vacation about to start. Ziva entered the bridal room, making everyone cheer when she showed the sign of “Future Mrs.” placed at her door. A smooth wooden table filled with plates of fruit, various types of seeds and pastries greeted them, along with bottles of cold champagne and rosé wine. Across the hall, a white bed was stationed in front of a large floor to ceiling open window, the big beige curtains flying with the ocean wind.
The view was magnificent.
It was close to the sea so it was possible to discern the silhouettes of the villagers, but far enough to have some privacy. The sound of the waves could be heard all over the room as they hit the cliffs, the constant splashing a calming tune. A small dressing table was placed near the windows, seashells covering the whole surface around the mirror.
Only three objects were set on top of it.
A photograph of Rivka and Eli David, arms wrapped around each other when they were incredibly young, the Jordan mountaintops behind them. Its frame was made of pearls.
A photograph of Ziva holding her sister Tali’s hand, her brother Ari at her other side, all laughing, their bicycles laid on the ground. Its frame was made of buttons.
And a photograph of a man pointing to the camera, his eyes looking towards a little girl whose face was dirty with the chocolate ice cream she held in her hands. Tali was smiling, her baby teeth appearing through her mouth in a wide grin, dark brown eyes twinkling. Tony was also beaming, as if it was the first time he made her truly laugh.
That one she didn’t frame on purpose, the paper almost damaged with time and constant folding to pocket size. It was the most precious to her.
“Whoah, that’s a hell of a view,” said Kasie, eyebrows raised and mouth opened in an oval shape.
“Perfect, wouldn’t you say?” Abby replied, sending Ziva a naughty grin and wiggling her brows.
“Abby,” Ziva huffed a nervous laugh, her cheeks reddening in a rare moment, “this isn’t where we are going to stay for the honeymoon.”
“Why not?! It’s the perfect place, with a great view of the stars, and the sea-”
“Abby,” Ziva stopped her, “he did not want to tell me about it.”
Every woman looked at Ziva, all casting disbelieving glances at each other.
“Really?” asked Jack, “is he that good?”
Ziva smiled shyly, looking down to her feet.
“Yeah,” she answered, “yeah, he is.”
Giggles filled her room, and for the first time in her life, Ziva David was grateful to have such a great female company.
“I’m so glad that you’re here, ladies. I was getting suffocated with all the planning and the last minute decorations. At least Tony is taking care of Tali, or else she would’ve wanted to opine on everything,” she smiled with the thought.
“So, Ziva, tell us the news! How did Tony propose?” asked Ellie, sitting down at a nearby chair after Abby popped open a bottle of champagne, “we didn’t hear anything about you until the invitations arrived.”
“That… that’s a very long and funny story, but we have something more important to discuss first.”
Ziva grabbed a grape and threw it in her mouth, chewing slowly while studying Ellie, who seemed a bit nervous with the sudden turn in the conversation.
“Eleanor, will I need to give you the bouquet directly or are you already aware that Nicholas is fond of you?”
Ellie froze. Her cheeks blushed until the redness reached her ears, and she huffed a laugh while putting a loose strand of her hair behind her ear.
“What? No. Nick? Puff, no way. He’s… he’s just… he’s my partner. We’re coworkers, nothing will happen.”
Everyone glanced at her with a bemused look.
“You do realize what we’re doing here this weekend, don’t you, Ellie?” asked Sloane carefully, placing her hand on top of Bishop’s.
“A wedding?” Abby giggled, “Of… coworkers…?” she added.
Ellie opened up a shy smile when the women started to shake her shoulders and cheer, her cheeks turning even redder than she thought it was possible.
“Don’t worry, uh?” Ziva cast her an honest look, “just have fun and I promise you, time will tell.”
°°°
“HEY TATER TOTS,” called Nick from the water, four kids giggling behind him on the low waves, “HEY, BISHOP!”
Ellie startled where she was lying down on a sun lounger, back facing the sun and wearing a high waisted bikini set. The warmth made her head dizzy with sleep, and she was so tired from the long journey, she didn’t even notice when the back massage Ziva arranged for her ended and when she started to only sunbathe.
“WHAT DO YOU WANT, BRUSSELS SPROUTS?”
“I have a dare for you.”
She startled once again when she realized he was standing just next to her, drops of water wetting her shoulder when he bent down to whisper in her ear.
“What… what dare?” she turned around carefully, hands shading the sun from her eyes as her skin started to tingle with the sight of Nick’s silhouette against the sun.
“I dare you to do a better handstand than those kids.”
“What?” That was unexpected.
“The one with the higher score is Tali. For now. Johnny said that it was because she was older, so I told him you’re older than any of them and doesn’t know how to do a proper handstand.”
Ellie snorted a derisive laugh, taking Nick’s hand to help her stand up, “do you think Eleanor Bishop doesn’t know how to do the most simple summer thing such as a handstand?”
“You’re talking in third person, creep,” he repeated her words from hours before, racing with her towards the kids. Sounds of constant laughter and waves crashing echoed all around.
Abby had taken every one to show a little cave she found with clear hot springs inside, near the cliffs on the other side of the beach. Gibbs and Jack had gone to the opposite direction, walking in the sand until they weren’t visible anymore around the bend.
Meanwhile, Ziva had arranged back massages for her and Ellie to enjoy the little spare time she had before the big event.
She now was lying down at a recliner chair, knots on her back coming undone by the amazing hands of the venue massagist. Her maroon bikini top was untied and she rested at the shade, palm trees swaying with the wind next to her. Her mouth tasted of cold sparkling wine, the sensation of bubbles exploding on her tongue still lingering. All she could hear was the wind, the birds and the sea nearby.
“Hmmm,” she moaned as the massagist touched a particularly painful spot. Her vertebrae cracked carefully under his fingers and the muscles started to slowly relax.
It was heaven.
“Hmmm, just like that, yeah.”
“Miss?” asked the young massagist in a polite tone.
“Hmmm…?” was all she could muster.
Ziva heard the loud sound of children laughing far away, followed by one “I win!” muffled by the powerful wind. She didn’t have a clue what that might be, but she smiled softly with the thought.
The massagist’s hands left her back from a moment, the wind caressing her skin and making her shiver.
“Uhh,” he said, a nervous note distinguishable in his voice, “are you the one getting married, miss?”
His hands returned, massaging her shoulders and the back of her neck as she moaned out loud with the sensation. She was alone and didn’t care about anything or anyone, to be honest. Tony was showing the surroundings to the guests with Abby and Tali was playing in the sand with the other kids. This was her moment, and hers alone.
“Yes, yes I am.”
“And… and who is the groom?” the young man asked politely, voice now steadier once she stopped with the moaning.
“He…” Ziva did it again just to feel him stiffen, biting her lower lip as a loud sound escaped her throat, “his name is Tony. Tall guy. Talks a lot.”
This is still too easy.
It was few the moments in her life Ziva David had truly felt like a woman, only when her job demanded and when her guilty desire asked her to. Now, she had a little girl who asked her about princess’ stories and glittery clothes, a good man at her side whose eyes always landed on her filled with need and a wedding party about to happen.
With a white gown and something blue included.
It all seemed like a dream, after years running away and hiding from Sahar, she was now in this beautiful place with all her family to cherish her wedding.
The girl who ran all her life had finally found herself.
“Is he… is he here?” asked the massagist, hands trailing down her lower back with care.
“Yes, he is. Well, not now, but you know, I do hope he is at the wedding, at least.”
“Of course.”
He changed the position of his hands to press down at her calves and Ziva purred in delight. She felt him bending down to massage the back of her knee, so she moaned once again just to play with him, her sassiness on overdrive.
“Is he, you know, strong? Knows how to fight?”
Ziva’s mind filled with images of Tony with shoulder holsters and sweaty skin, and she had to bite her lip again to prevent her from muttering anything too inappropriate. Gosh, the waiting for this honeymoon would make her explode with greed until there.
“Yeah, I’m afraid he’s pretty good at it.”
The massagist hands trailed the back of her thigh, making a skip from her hips to her lower back again.
“Is he… good looking?”
“Oh,” she smiled with the sight of him in formal attire tomorrow, “oh yeah-”
Her voice abandoned her as she felt the young man bending down atop of her and doing a fast lick at the shell of her ear.
“HEY, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?”
She quickly grasped her bikini top to turn around and stand up, wanting to punch him right away, but his body pressed her down at the chair, laying on top of her back.
He was too heavy, and for a second she couldn’t move from the position she was lying down.
She had to think fast.
She had to found a quick way out of here.
“I could ask you the same thing, Dah-veed.”
Tony’s raspy voice caressed the back of her ear just as he came closer to place a lingering kiss on the crook of her neck.
“You have no self-respect moaning like that, do you?” he grabbed her hair to position her neck how he liked, placing wet kisses from her shoulder to her earlobe, “you have no respect for the groom also, uh? You do know he’s obeying your wishes to wait until the honeymoon, don’t you?”
He kissed her neck, again and again, and again, making her dizzy and hot and sweaty. Her skin began to prickle wherever he touched and she could feel a tingling sensation starting to grow strong at the base of her belly.
“You do know,” another kiss, “that you’re driving him crazy,” another kiss, “with your bikini like that?”
She started to shiver and couldn’t take it anymore as one of his hands trailed down to grab her firmly at the waist.
“Tony, I-” a loud moan escaped her lips as he pressed his whole body hard on her back.
“He can’t. Wait. For tomorrow. Sweetcheeks,” he said slowly, the syllables leaving his lips just as he placed kiss after kiss on her neck, again and again, making her want to scream, her heart threatening to explode.
Tony planted a wet smooch on her ear, making a loud 'pop’ as he moved away, letting her turn around. An amused smirk danced on his lips as his green eyes gave an appreciate gaze down her body, waiting for her as she tied her bikini. The young massagist was nowhere to be found.
“It was you all along?”
He opened up a boyish smile, eyes growing dark as his gaze lingered on her lips a moment too long.
“Did you really think a massage that good could be done by a shaky little guy in training?”
Ziva chuckled, licking her lips as she watched Tony’s eyes carefully trace her tongue with hard focus.
“How much did you give him to ask that stuff?”
“Your habilities are faltering, Israeli, once upon a time you could sense me in your sleep just by my marvelous natural musk,” his eyes darted from her lips to her chocolate eyes, the color almost invisible as it became two completely black orbs.
The air between them was filled with electricity, the tension almost unbearable with Ziva licking her lips and Tony tracing her tongue with his eyes.
“Just kiss me already, will you?”
She opened up her mouth to welcome him, his wet tongue crashing into hers with obvious need, smooth and tasting of cold tequila. He moved closer to her, wrapping his arm around her waist, the other lifting to her hair as he intensified the kiss.
Ziva couldn’t think straight, she felt like she had drunk at least a whole bottle of wine, mind blank with all the senses taking over her. The warmth in her belly was spreading across her body, through her veins, and, judging by the way he was groaning into her mouth, she guessed he felt the same.
They were sweating as the lust and desire for each other scrambled on the surface and the body heat between them could cause a fire. It seemed that neither of them wanted to stop the kiss.
But it was necessary to inhale, so Tony drank in her lips for one last long moment and then released them with a soft moan. He opened his eyes and licked his lips, tasting her on them as he looked at him and saw the effect of the kiss. She banged her head once lightly against the chair, feeling completely dumbfounded and, with closed eyes, took a deep breath.
“Why did we wait so long again?” Ziva asked, voice quavering and raspy.
“I ask that myself every day,” Tony answered with a wide smile, “so do you think, HEY-”
A pair of steady hands gripped him at his shoulders and lifted him from the chair, just as another held his ankles and he started to be carried away from her.
“Not now, pal,” said Nick, holding his ankles and moving towards the other side of the beach, “you got somewhere else to be.”
"No, no, no, guys, put me down."
“A bachelor party, I think,” added Jimmy from behind, hands under Tony’s arms.
"PUT ME DOWN," exclaimed Tony, tossing in his friends' arms.
“For the one and only Anthony DiNozzo,” said McGee, winking at Ziva as she chuckled, “YOU CAN HAVE HER TOMORROW,” Tim put his hands in a shell shape, his voice echoing across the beach.
“SHE’S MINE EVERY DAY,” Tony yelled back, trying to turn his head towards Ziva but the guys didn’t let him.
“Is he drunk?” she asked, crossing her arms and eyes twinkling.
“No, he’s not,” replied McGee, a knowing smirk on his lips as he nodded towards Tony, “I think he’s just in love.”

Karolina and Tegan birthday fanfic! 👓👠
I wrote a (short?) fanfic for Karolina's and Tegan's birthdayyy 🎉🎉 Last time Scholar was a she so I decided that in this one Scholar will be a he again 👍 Hopefully my writing is getting less cringe 😂 but as you'll see for yourselves I'm still really bad, especially the narration, sometimes I'm like "Wait, what am I supposed to describe here to move on to the next scene?" So most of it is really basic 😅 On a lighter note though, I know that many sweet elite players come from lots of different countries and most times their first language isn't English (*cough*like me*cough*) so at least it'll be easy to read for everyone? (Yes, I'm totally trying to make myself feel better for my lack of vocabulary 😔)
Anyways!!! Have a good read! God I hope I'm getting better...
--------------------------------------
"Karolina used to play Maryo Kart!?"
Tegan flinched due to Scholar's sudden outburst and almost dropped the controller out of his hands.
"W-Well... yeah. We were pretty close in elementary school and we used to share the same interests. Not when it came to everything but we usually agreed about a lot of things."
Tyler cackled from the bunk bed upon hearing this. Looks like he was still browsing through a shit-ton of pictures of chairs on Moogle. Apparently, he wanted to draw a chair for his next art piece.
"Just imagining Karolina even playing an app game gives me the same feeling as watching one of John Mulaney's skits: it's hilarious."
Scholar couldn't help but imagine Karolina playing Candy Rush or Flappy duck and it was in fact rather funny. Seeing Karolina frustrated because of a game would be like seeing Tadashi sleeping, which means it was impossible. Those two really need more rest and a bit of down time...
"So Tyler, you found any chairs that give you a spark of inspiration?"
Scholar decided to change the subject, after all Karolina didn't want anything to do with Tegan even though it was... well... their birthday. Scholar doesn't even have siblings let alone a twin so he had no idea how Tegan must be feeling right now. But from an outsider's perspective, Scholar thought that it was kind of sad and a waste that they didn't at least celebrate their birthday together. Tegan said that he didn't want anything too extravagant though. Thus, the 3 of them had gathered in their room to spend some time together, Ellie was also supposed to come but she said that she had "things to do" and that she'd drop by later.
"Nah man. MIKEA is really running out of ideas. I could come up with sicker designs in the blink of an eye. Actually, in a way this encourages me even more to draw a chair. I'll create the best chair this world has ever seen Scholar. Just. You. Wait."
While Tyler was hyping himself up over chairs Tegan had a really stern look on his face. Maybe it was because he was focused on the game but Scholar felt like there was something more to it. Perhaps they should've invited more people? In truth, the only real guest here was Scholar. This was TnT's room after all... Why is Ellie taking so long?
"...Tegan? Maybe you'd like me to go call Axel and Raquel over? Maybe even Alistair and Claire?"
Tegan who was frowning for a while now finally let his eyebrows relax.
"No uh... Sorry if I looked angry or something but um. I was just thinking about something."
When he said that, Tyler immediately let go of his phone and dropped down on the floor, then he sat next to Tegan.
"When you tell us that you're thinking about something, it means that you want to talk to us about it, right?"
Tegan continued to smash the buttons of the controller without even giving Tyler a side-glance.
"Not necessarily."
Somehow, Tegan was acting a bit cold but not in his usual "I'm sleep deprived" way. Tyler gave Scholar a pleading look. Probably meaning that Tegan needed another little push to tell them what was going through his mind. Of course, Scholar couldn't ignore that.
"Aww, come on man! If it was because you were spacing out like usual you would've just said "it's nothing" butcha didn't! You know you can tell us everything right? We won't snitch."
Tyler followed.
"Exactly! We'll never break the bro code of honor. Spill the tea! Or water! Or whatever drink it is!"
Tegan gave them a big sigh before leaving the game on pause and putting the controller down. Tyler and Scholar looked at eachother dumbfounded. When Tegan puts the controller down it means that shit is about to get real... or he's so tired that he'll short-circuit in a span of 10 seconds.
"Well, it's about Karol. Kinda. I guess."
Scholar and Tyler scooched over even closer to be sure to miss none of it. Talking about Karolina wasn't a taboo topic or anything, on the contrary, it was quite frequent and Tegan was totally fine with his friends taking jabs at her as long as it wasn't mean-spirited. But what was rare though, was for Tegan to bring her up out of nowhere.
"It's... how to say this. You know how when it's Christmas and you become super nostalgic about the smallest things? Or when Viewtube recommends you a short clip from a show you used to watch years ago and you decide to marathon it just for the heck of it? Well, for me that "nostalgic" time is our birthday. When I remember how we used to be so close and hang out together all the time I get kinda uh. I don't know. Regretful? Like, maybe if I didn't end up being a loser who spends all of his time playing games and doing dumb stuff Karol might still tolerate me. Or uh. If I dressed up a little nicer or took better care of myself maybe she'd at least want to stand next to me in public? Now, unless absolutely necessary, she doesn't even want to be associated with me. Like, she's ashamed of me or she doesn't want the other students to think that we're related or something. I don't know. Maybe I'm making it sound worse than it actually is but that's how I feel."
Woah. Okay. To be honest, Tyler and Scholar had already thought that something along those lines might be the reason for Tegan's grumpy mood today. That was a feeling he probably carried with him subconsciously everyday, just maybe to a smaller extent since he drowns himself in video games and doritos. But whenever their birthday comes around, all of it resurfaces. He already told them in the past that when Karolina started taking modeling gigs they started slowly growing apart. Tegan had said it so nonchalantly, like it wasn't a big deal and it was natural to "grow apart" but clearly, he wasn't happy about it.
Tegan was hanging his head low, as for Tyler and Scholar, they lay their heads down on Tegan's shoulders. Tyler ran his fingers through Tegan's hair to confort him.
"You're not a loser in any way Tegan. Karolina is the one missing out on you, she shouldn't set standards on you in the first place. So what? Just because you don't wear Bucci, Bupreme or Bouis Buitton it means that she has the right to act like this? You're my best bro and I know that my best friend is the coolest dude in the world. I mean, who can drink 3 monster drinks at the same time through 2 straws amirite?"
"Hm. Actually... You're not wrong."
Wait, 3 monster drinks at the same time with 2 straws? What?? Scholar's eyes widened.
"Uhhh. What the hell do you guys do when I'm not around? And may I remind you that Tegan is also my best friend!"
Tyler let out a laugh through his nose.
"Oh please, you may have barely enough points to unlock his tragic backstory but I'm still the OG. I'm ahead of you by at least a hundred points. Also, I wouldn't exactly call you a friend but rather-"
Tegan swiftly elbowed Tyler in the stomach.
"Ssshhh! Dude!"
"Ouch! Come on man... you know that Scholar is a bit dense sometimes, you gotta at least let me spell it out for him."
This was about to become a fight between the two of them, with Tegan trying to shut Tyler up and Tyler desperately trying to tell Scholar something. However, someone knocked on the door. That's weird, usually Ellie just barges in without even asking if she can. She just says "It's Ellie!" and comes in like this is her room as much as it is Tegan's and Tyler's. Their small fight stopped and Tegan got up to open the door... to be welcomed with cheers and confetti flying in the air. "WOOOOOOO!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NERD!!!" Ellie had brought the whole gang: Alistair, Axel, Claire, Raquel and even Tadashi. The only ones who weren't there were Karolina and Neha but in a way, it was kind of to be expected. They were maybe celebrating Karolina's birthday in her room with some of their friends from the fashion department? In any case, everyone was thrilled for Tegan. They congratulated him and gave him some gifts even if they were a little bit less personal than anticipated. It was apparent that some of those were chosen in a rush. If Scholar had to guess, since Tegan is so secretive and discreet about everything, he probably didn't tell anyone about his birthday and Ellie had to go around fetching everyone and bringing them together. That's why some of the gifts exuded that "Oh shit! It's Tegan's birthday today!!!" aura. Especially Tadashi's gift.
"This is kopi luwak. Those coffee beans are extracted from the asian palm civet's excrements. I know that you're more into energy drinks but I thought that you might want to try something different. I know it sounds disgusting but the taste is actually not bad and it'll definitely wake you up, everytime you remember that you're drinking coffee that came out of an animal's digestive system it gives you an extra dose of adrenaline. No matter how many times I drink it, this coffee always makes me feel like I'm a little bit in danger and it wakes me up immediately."
Tegan looked really curious about it but at the same time uneasy at the thought of having to drink coffee made of beans that came out of an animal's asshole.
"Woah... thanks... Tadashi."
"You're welcome."
So that's how Tadashi stays awake, huh? He makes himself fear for his life by drinking weird coffee. Scholar had already heard of it, there's even some kinds that are made from elephant poop and civet cat poop. However, Axel was the first and only one to call Tadashi out.
"What the fuck man? It's his birthday and you gifted him fricking coffee beans that come from a raccoon's butthole? Well, I guess the nickname Tadashit fits you perfectly since you literally drink shit."
Tadashi rolled his eyes so far back that his pupils might've gone in his skull if he wasn't human.
"Like I said, it comes from the asian palm civet. Not a raccoon. Also, do not call me that."
Axel and Tadashi kept on bickering for a while before Claire brought the cake.
"Ta-dah! Sorry if it's not good enough but there weren't any backeries out there willing to make a birthday cake on such a short notice. I had to bake it myself with Alistair's help. We hope you like it!"
The cake gave off a really homey feeling. Scholar was reminded from back home when all of his birthday cakes looked really similar to this one. The icing was really amateurish looking but really really cute. Alistair switched the lights off and Tegan took a moment to think about his wish. The room went silent in front of his stern expression, seems like whatever his wish was, it must be pretty important. When he blew the candles everyone cheered but no one asked him what he wished for. Maybe no one felt the need to since it is said that if you say your wish out loud it won't come true.
Before Raquel could cut the cake Alistair took his phone out. "Wait! Wait a sec, let's take pictures with the cake first! I'm the one who drew the Zbox and the Playmotion logo..."
Raquel put the knife down while laughing. "Oohhh. So I bet that's the real reason why you don't want me to cut it yet?"
They all took lots of ridiculous pictures with the cake. It was a pretty big one so Raquel cut it into 10 slices. After a bit of a ruckus, things finally started calming down. The 9 of them sat down in a circle and talked about random subjects: the teachers, the homework, sleep paralysis, the new Store Wars movie, the conscious and unconscious mind in cognitive psychology...
The time was passing by and everyone was having fun no matter how weird the conversation was getting until Raquel reminded everyone of the last slice of cake.
"If no one's gonna eat it, I'll eat it."
The only one who was against it was Tyler who also wanted the last slice. They decided to choose the winner through rock paper scissors. A 3 round match. But just as it was about to start, someone knocked on the door again. Did the noise annoy the neighbours? It was getting pretty late after all.
Scholar got up to open the door only to find... Karolina followed by Neha!
"Happy b- oh. It's you."
Karolina was holding a small package and as for Neha, she didn't even bother to wrap up her gift. It was a fancy hoodie with a sort of skull on its back. Tegan almost flew towards the door.
"Karol! You came... and Neha, is that Sombra merch?"
Neha smiled warmly, seeing that he noticed right away.
"Yes. I mean, kind of. It's that character from Underwatch, right? I don't know if it's your favorite but one time I remember you saying that "she was fun to play". So I made you this. The quality isn't really that good though, sorry. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to make it properly. Anyway, I'm rambling. Happy birthday Tegan."
Tegan immediately put the purple hoodie on in excitement.
"Looks sick. Thank you Neha. You really nailed the logo."
Karolina also thought that it looked "sick" but not in a good way. She was clearly not getting why wearing that sort of thing would make someone happy. Since it was made by Neha, of course it was really well done but why does he prefer wearing video game merch rather than high quality clothing? She was almost regretting coming here. Tyler laughed at the sight of Karolina trying really hard not to roll her eyes, it looked like her pupils were trembling. Kinda terrifying honestly.
"I would've thought that you like soldier 76 or Tracer better since... they're about as straight as you are. But besides that, it looks dope Neha! Would you make one of my paintings into a T-shirt one day? Like, you know, my birthday? August 21st? Pretty pleaaase!"
It wasn't long until everyone started requesting clothes from Neha for their birthdays. Of course, she shut them all down while Karolina still stood there with what looked like a gift.
"Ugh. I see that you invited a lot... of people."
Her cold gaze was on Axel and Alistair specifically, since she did not like those two. As for Tegan, he was silently waiting for his gift. Judging by his face, it had been a while since Karolina had showed up to one of their birthdays, not to mention that she brought a gift too.
"Anyway... here. I'm sure you don't play those kinds of games anymore but uh... Well, in any case you better not laugh at my gift. Or else."
Tegan carefully unwrapped the gift. It was the new Maryo Kart! Everyone was baffled. Karolina actually gifted Tegan a video game? What's next? Is she going to play it too on top of gifting it? Tegan thanked her happily and reached for something behind the TV. It was Karolina's gift. Her eyes scanned the shape of the wrapping trying to guess what it was. Though she didn't lose any more time trying to figure out what it was and opened it. It was a Bouis Buitton bag. Karolina smiled.
"Basic choice but not bad. Thanks."
Seeing that Neha had already sat down, Karolina did the same. Of course, to Raquel's regret, they ended up splitting the last slice of cake, Karolina said that she didn't mind since she couldn't afford to eat food with too much calories. Especially not pastries but she let this one slide. As for Tegan, he immediately switched the game on. Of course. But then, he offered the second controller to Karolina. Everyone looked at him like he was batshit crazy. Miraculously though, Karolina sighed and took the controller.
"...Fine. But I don't remember the controls anymore."
That was a fricking lie. Karolina was killing it?? At Maryo Kart?? Raquel was going crazy. Well, everyone actually. But especially Raquel.
"What the hell?! So you steal the last slice of cake and now you're whooping Tegan's ass in a video game? I didn't even think you knew how to hold the controller correctly..."
Karolina clicked her tongue at that remark, looking unimpressed. Though clearly, she was a bit embarrassed about playing against her brother in front of 9 other people who had no idea that she was even capable of touching a controller without throwing up. But during that time, Tegan was grinning like a kid. It was like going back in time for him. He was thrilled. How many years has it been since the last time they played together like this?
"Believe it or not, but Karolina was actually the one to always kick my ass in video games. She was too strong. Thankfully, she's a bit rusty now."
Karolina elbowed his arm violently but Tegan didn't budge. It was like he was used to it, maybe Karolina always tried to distract him from the game by pushing him when they were little?
"Oh shut up. It's the game's fault. Why the heck did they add that much useless features? Also, the maps are way worse than the old Maryo Kart games. Those ones are a jumbled mess, doesn't make any goddamn sense with those twists and turns."
Karolina frighteningly sounded like a retrogaming nerd. Could it be that Tegan's love for video games came from...? Nah, no way. She's just salty that Tegan is catching up in wins. They're tied now.
"Okay! What about this: The one who wins the next round gets a kiss on the cheek from Scholar!" Ellie proclaimed in a loud voice.
"Wait! Why me??"
Scholar honestly doubted that Karolina would like that, Tegan? Maybe. But not Karolina. Surprisingly enough she didn't react but that lack of reaction probably hid something. Usually she would complain and quit but she's not the type to lose on purpose after getting this far. Tegan looked fired up too. Looking back on it, earlier Tyler was trying really hard to say something. Could it be that both Tegan and Karolina like Scholar? Well... that would be extremely awkward and unlikely.
In any case, it looks like Tegan has a head start.
"What's wrong Karol? Have you really forgotten the controls?"
"Say that again and I might murder you."
This is the most intense party of Maryo Kart anyone had ever seen. Isn't there an e-sport for it? Maybe the Novak(ova) siblings should sign up...
In the end, Karolina managed to catch up somehow. Ellie took that host voice again.
"Alright ladies and gents! Looks like Karolina will be the one receiving the prize! But what an act of cruelty on the sister's part, wouldn't you say? Because she was heartless and unpleasant I declare that as compensation the viewers should also get a kiss!"
Everyone cheered for Scholar's kiss but funnily enough, Tegan looked super offended. He was about to throw a tantrum.
"Wait. So I'm the only one without a kiss?!? That is so unfair! It's my birthday... I should at least get a participation fee!"
Tyler patted him on the back.
"That's rough, buddy. But hey, at least your boyfriend didn't turn into the moon."
Tegan quickly elbowed Tyler in the stomach again.
"Dude! Scholar's not my... dammit, I told you to be quiet earlier."
"Ow! I didn't even say any name... You're the one digging your own grave man. Look, he's looking this way."
Seeing that Tegan looked absolutely heartbroken (and pissed), Scholar took Ellie's place as the announcer.
"Change of plans! Only the siblings get a kiss because it's their birthday. All the others won't get any because it would be extremely unfair."
That's when everyone started booing but Raquel seemed to have an idea. A stupid one. But still an idea.
"Uhhh, excuse me! Actually, I'm their sister. We're triplets, so I also get a kiss!"
Axel did the same.
"No, Raquel is lying sir! We're actually quadruplets so I get a kiss as well! The four of us look so similar, I have no idea how you missed that..."
This whole thing turned out to be ridiculous. Seems like Tegan and Karolina suddenly had 8 new siblings. But of course, only the 2 of them got the kiss. Everyone was satisfied with the birthday party despite all of the chaos.
-------------------------------------- Oooookay! That's it! Sorry the ending was so abrupt (as usual) but I never know how to end these... Thank you for reading though! And sorry if you cringed! But that's a risk I'm willing to take ✊😔

Chapter 11: The Return of the Science Bros
The next few weeks went by fine.  I’d pretty much resigned that this was my family now.  The pregnancy had reached 24 weeks.  I hadn’t seen Bruce or Tony for five months.  I figured I wasn’t ever going to despite reassurances from the others that they were working on Tony and he was just in hardcore nesting mode to deal with the panic he was feeling.  I had reached the point where I wasn’t sure I wanted him to come back.
Bruce, on the other hand, was concerning.  We weren’t sure if he was hiding or if Hulk just liked the idea of being a dad so much he wasn’t willing to give him back.  Wanda seemed to think it was the second but no one could convince him to let go of control and when we tried he’d start getting agitated.
The biggest problem we faced was the living situation.  The others had said Tony was working on it.  It didn’t seem to be getting worked on though and I was starting to worry.
“I just don’t know where we’re going to put them.  We’re running out of time.”  I said.
“They’re gonna be pretty small,”  Clint joked.  “You can put them in one crib in the corner.  They won’t take up much room.”
“I'm sorry, they?”
I turned suddenly toward the sound of Tony’s voice.  He stood at the door to the stairwell, the door still held open like he might retreat back through it.
“I - uh - Tony?”  I said, in a state of shock.  He looked like he hadn’t shaved in months, and was wearing a black tank top and sweats.
“Yes?”  He said.  “You said they. What does ‘they’ mean?”
“It means ‘they’,”  I said, still not sure what was happening or why he was there.  Or if he was even actually there and I wasn’t hallucinating.  “As in there's more than one.”
“How many?”  He asked.
It was like my brain suddenly accepted what was happening and rather than being relieved to see him I was pissed.  “I don't - No... you don't just get to come in here and drill me for information when I haven't seen you for 5 months.  You don't get to do that.”
“And these triplets or whatever could be mine?”  Tony asked.  I just sat silently not acknowledging him.  Fuming that he’d just come in here and expecting answers.
“Okay. You want me to leave then?”  He snarked.
I snapped, the hurt and pain bubbling and spewing out of me.  “I want you to say you're sorry to me!”  I shouted.  “I want you to beg me to take you back!  You keep running from me whenever something happens and you get scared and I just have to sit here and wait until you're ready like I'm a good little girl?  You're lucky I'm still here!”
He blinked at me like I’d slapped him.
“Why should I tell you anything about them when you don't even want them?  Come in here snapping at me like I did something specifically to hurt you.  Like I'm not also terrified by this.  I'm not - You don't get to treat me like I don't mean anything to you!”
“El,”  Wanda said softly putting her hand on me.
“No.  No.  I don't always have to be the bigger person.”  I said getting up suddenly, the tears I had been fighting back finally breaking.
“Elly,”  Steve said.
I wheeled on him suddenly.  “Stop using the misbehaving daughter voice on me!”  I shouted spinning on my heel and going to march out.  A sharp pain ran up my side and I doubled over, groaning.
“Elly, that wasn't the voice,”  Steve said, while Hulk stood and made a distressed noise.
I sunk to my knees rubbing my side and making a pained sound as it felt like a tearing was happening down my side.
“Elly?”  Hulk grumbled as he moved closer and Nat and Sam got up and rushed to my side.
“I don't  - I think I'm okay,”  I said rubbing my side.
Hulk took a step towards me and started to lose his green.   I stared up at him as his muscles shrunk and contracted.  Until all that was left was Bruce standing there holding a far too big of a pair of pants up.  He blinked around the room a confused expression on his face.  “What’s happening?”
It was too much, the pain, Bruce being back.  Tony.  Steve scolding me.  I broke down into wracking sobs and clutched my side.  “I think it’s the babies, Bruce,”  Natasha said an edge of panic in her voice as Sam poked and prodded at me.
“Okay,”  Bruce said moving to my side.  “I've got you.  Talk to me.”
“Hurts here,”  I said rubbing the spot where the pain was radiating out from.
“Okay,”  Bruce said beginning to feel around with Sam.  “Let me look.
“You came back,”  I said quietly as I watched them.
“Hulk panicked.  Thought I was needed.”  He said not looking up.
“You've been needed this whole time.”
“I'm sorry.”
I put my hand on his forearm as he pressed against my side.  “Did you know?  Could you hear things?”
“Sometimes.  Very, very faintly,”  Bruce said looking up into my eyes.  “Like I was underwater.  I’m sorry, L.  I wanted to come back.  I couldn’t get him to let go.”  I nodded and rubbed his arms.  He kept poking around and looked up at me.  “I think it’s just a pinched nerve.”
“Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.”  Sam agreed.
I let out a breath.  “They’re okay?”
Bruce nodded and helped me back to a seat.  “I believe so.  You have an obstetrician?”  I nodded and Bruce looked up.  “FRIDAY, can you page them?”
“Right away, Doctor Banner.”  She replied.
I sighed and tried to relax.  “Twins, Tony.  It's twins.”   I said without looking at him.
He let out a breath.  “Oh, just twins.”
“And they're only yours if you want them to be.”
“I want it on the record that I was here before Bruce.”  He said.
I rolled my eyes and shook my head slightly.  “Uh-huh.”
“I’m here.”  Tony protested.
“Okay.”
“I have some designs too,”  He said pulling out a tablet.
I sighed and shook my head again trying really hard to not just lose it at him.  “I think you’re forgetting something.”
He made a face and shifted where he stood.
I let my head roll so I was looking at him.  “Would you like me to just disappear for 5 months?  Lock you completely out?  How would that make you feel?”
“Oh,”   He said frowning.  “I needed to access some things. And yes, I probably pulled a Howard.”
“So... what would you like to have heard from Howard?”  I said drily.
“From Howard?”  He asked.   “I wouldn’t even know.”
I groaned and my head fell back.  “Tony.  I want you to tell me you're sorry and that you love me and I want to feel like you mean it.  Or no.  You aren't here.”
“But I am here.”  He protested.
I stood up and Natasha moved quickly to support me.  “I’m going to go lie down.  Bruce, it’s good to see you back.  If anyone has anything they feel they might like to tell me I’ll be in there.”  I say pointing at the bedroom.  “Otherwise, when the doctor gets here, that’s where I am.”
“Thanks, El,”  Bruce said softly as I shuffled to the bedroom being supported by Nat.  She helped me into the bed and I pulled the body pillow close as I got comfortable.  It wasn’t long until there was a gentle knock on the door.
“You want me to leave you alone with him?”  Natasha asked moving to open the door.
“Yes, please.  Thank you, Tasha.”  I said.
She nodded and let Tony in, stepping past him as she left.  He stood by the door shifting awkwardly on his feet. “I, uh. I have some things to say. But I'm not sure I can.”
“I need to hear them, Tony.  I'm hanging on by a thread here.”
He sighed and shifted again.  “I know,”  he said, “I just... I don't know. I don't wanna fuck them up. But I don't exactly know how to be there for them.”
“My dad once broke my arm in such a way that when you touched it, it felt like play-doh,”  I said, shaking my head.  “You think I don't have those exact same fears?  We'll do the best we can.  I get being scared.  Fuck, if I could put this on hold and go on a bender where none of you saw me for a week I probably would.  I'm not mad that you got scared and you don't know how to do this.  I am hurt that you didn't come and talk to me.  That once again you put FRIDAY on lockdown so if I needed you I couldn't come and see you.”
“I'm sorry,”  he said, frowning.  “I needed time. And that was fucked up because… That's exactly what Howard would do. And exactly what I don't want to do.”
“I've been so alone,”  I said trying not to cry again.  “When my morning sickness was at its worse Nat went on a mission, and Steve decided he had to go save the world or something and I would wake up and throw up and Wanda would rub my back and then I'd go to work.  And I was alone all day in my lab because you wouldn't let me in and Bruce was just gone.”
“What do you want me to say?  All I can say is that I'm sorry. And I was an asshole. I didn't have Steve send Nat away.”
The tears broke again and silently slipped down my cheeks.  I was so afraid.  I wanted to forgive him but I was scared that this would happen again and if I forgave him this, I’d forgive him anything.  “I want you to hold me and reassure me you won't do this again.  I want to know that you get what you did to me here.  That this is the second time you've done this to me and that’s not acceptable.  That I never ever have to worry about you doing this to me if I forgive you.”
“I didn't mean to,”  He said, shifting again, but not coming over.  “You understand that all intimacy in my life has been flakey, unreliable, or absolutely fake and manipulative right?”
“Have I been like that?”  I asked, looking up at him.
He shook his head.
“I love you, Tony.  I am as patient with you as I can be.  I want you to be happy and feel that love you have been denied for so long.  But I didn’t mean for this to happen.   I hate that I hurt you with this.  That I made you doubt me and my intentions.  But it was an accident and I’m hurting and you are still over there and you still haven’t told me you won’t do this to me again.”
He moved to the bed, slipping off his shoes and sitting down on the side, still just out of reach.  “I know,”  he said, running his hands through his hair.  “That's the worst part. I know you didn't do this to trap me or force me into something.”
“I don't even know how it happened.  She said just my birth control alone was one in 2000 women every three years.  Like what the fuck?  How am I now pregnant with twins?”  I said and looked down at my stomach.
He let out a breath.  “It was meant to be, I guess.”
“I guess so.  I wish... I wish we could have planned to have them.”
He moved closer and I leaned my head against his thighs.  “That would have been ideal,”  he said as he ran his hands through my hair.  “I’m sorry, Elise.  You don’t have to take me back, but I promise I won’t do it again.”
I sighed and just sat leaning against him as he played with my hair.  “So I guess here's what you need to know.  It's a boy and a girl.  My doctor has done blood tests to determine if they are genetically related to Bruce, Steve, Bucky and I guess Thor too.  There is a small chance they have two different fathers.  She will only disclose if they are those people's if she's worried about their health in some way.  So far we don't know and Steve doesn't want anyone to know.  As far as he's concerned they're his kids and anyone else that chooses to do this.”
“Okay,”  He said his breath catching a little.  “A little boy and a little girl.”
I nodded and took his hand, placing it on my stomach.  It wasn’t long until there was a kick.  He looked down at my stomach before looking back up at me.  “They … they do that?”
“Yeah, for a while now.  You’ve missed a lot, Tony.”
He nodded and slipped down into the bed, keeping his hand on my stomach.  For a while, we didn’t say anything.  We just sat, him feeling the babies.  “Do they have names?”
“First names.  The girl is Riley and the boy is Pietro.”
He nodded a small frown on his face. “Okay.”
“You have any input on middle names?”  I asked.
He looked at me a little startled.  “Maria?”
I nodded.  “Yeah.  That would be nice.  Riley Maria.”  I said.  “You know, if you can just trust yourself, that you aren't the person you think you are, you'll be a great dad, Tony.”
“I will?”
“Yeah.  If you don't lock yourself up when you get scared.  I've seen you with that spider-kid.”  I said, rubbing his thigh.
“That’s different.   I’m not his dad.  I’m just a mentor.  I only see him sometimes and his Aunt is amazing.  I can’t fuck him up.”  He argued.
I shrugged.  “Still.  You’re good.  You'll be good.  Just... Make sure you practice saying I love you.”
“Right.”  He said with a nod.  “I - I do love you, Elly.  I love you.  I’m really sorry I did this to you again.”
I melted into him and he wrapped his arms around me, leaning his chin on the top of my head.  Maybe we still had some work to do, but finally, we were all back together again.  That was at least a good start.

Light at the End of the Tunnel [Part I]
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Genre: Angst
Characters: Hoseok x Original Character [Elaine/Ella/Ellie]
This was supposed to be a reaction for BTS gang au, buuuuuttttttt I got carried away. Do not read if the following will trigger you: abuse from mother to daughter, suicidal thoughts, and violence.
Enjoy~
When Elaine first came face to face to J-Hope, it was at the last place he should have been. At her brother’s funeral. His killer stood behind a large tree as he watched Elaine’s brother, Clay, be buried. Her blood boiled and she only saw red. Her mother sobbed over Clay’s grave as they began to throw the dirt on his coffin. Elaine’s body shook. Her legs felt like they’d give out as the funeral came to an end. The funeral goers left with her mother in their arms as she continued to cry.
Elaine stared down at Clay’s grave, “Just come back… You can’t be gone.” She whispered. “What am I supposed to do without you, bro… What am I supposed to do?” She cried as she held herself. “I’m not as strong as you. I’m too scared to leave mother again with you gone.” Her eyes casted to the side to see J-Hope still lingering about the tree. She clenched her jaw as she stomped over to him. “You!” She growled. J-Hope gave her with a stunned look. “How dare you show your face!” Her face burned with rage, “You foul son of a bitch!” She swung at him and J-Hope didn’t move. He took the weak punch. He gave her a sad mournful look. “You took him from me!” She hit him again, “You bastard! Give him back!” She grabbed his shirt and shook him. “Give him back to me!”
Elaine’s legs gave from under her, but J-Hope caught her from falling. The clouds opened and drowned out her cries as J-Hope held her. He pulled her in his arms, “I’m sorry… I’m so sorry, Elaine.” His voice was hoarse as he spoke in her ear, “This wasn’t supposed to happen. That should have been me.” Elaine didn’t fight him. She was far too exhausted and fatigue to say another word as she sobbed.
J-Hope took Elaine , with much protest, to his condo. He grabbed some clothes, “Here, change before you get sick.”
Elaine stared at him with a lifeless expression, “Like you care.” Her voice was hoarse. “You’re just waiting to kill me off next, right Hoseok? Because we know your real identity.” J-Hope flinched at the sound of his name off her lips.It sounded like venom.  She let out a croaked laugh, “To think we were friends. The police may have ruled his death a suicide, but I know you. I know how BTS operates.” Elaine looked around with disgust, “I can’t even be here without wanting to set it on fire. All the memorie-” she cried. She silently cursed herself for being so emotional especially in front of the man she knew killed Clay.
“I didn’t kill your brother” he whimpered. “I’d never do that to you, Elaine. Clay was like our brother too. We’d never kill him.” Elaine’s eyes flicked to Hoseok as anger inflamed her. “We don’t know who did, but we’re looking into it to take revenge. We won’t let the bastards get away with it.”
“It doesn’t matter who pulled the trigger. I told you to stay away from my family once you and the others created BTS.” She snarled, “You should have stayed away! I told you all that you were dead to me. It’s your fault I’m stuck alone with my mother. You took everything from me. My brother, my freedom, EVERYTHING!” Hoseok looked down unable to form words. She threw his clothes at him, “I will never forgive you! You should have never came into our lives.” Elaine backed away before she stormed out of the condo and headed home in her wet clothes.
Elaine made it home soaked to the core and numb. Her hair glued to her face. Her make up smeared and she was sure she looked like some type of clown. She twisted her black blouse and skirt to get the extra water out. She turned the knob and entered the house. It smelled of cigarettes and alcohol. A smell she couldn’t get out of her clothes when she had moved out with Clay. Elaine shut the door without making a sound and she headed past the living room to hide from her mother.
“You’re home” her mother’s voice was slurred, but there was an underlying anger.
Elaine jumped at her mother’s voice. “Jesus! Mother, you can’t just scare me like that.” She tried to keep her voice steady as she looked at her mother who was on the couch with a beer bottle and cigarette in hand.
Her mother, with the beer bottle in hand, wobbled to stand. She dropped the cigarette in the ashtray as she stumbled to the archway, “Wher’d ya go with that bastard?” Elaine flinched as her mom drunkenly shook the bottle and spilled some on Ella. Her mom let out a giggle, “Oops.”
“Mom, you’re drunk. Let’s get you to--”
Her mother flung her hand with the bottle in hand and smacked Elaine’s cheek, “Don’t touch me you whore!” She screamed and Elaine grabbed her cheek as pain hit her. Her hand didn’t stop in time as the bottle hit the wall and shattered. Elaine jumped back as her mom swung around drunkenly. “You shoulda been the one to die! Why did your beatiful perfect brothr die?” Elaine shifted her eyes to the ground as she watched her mother crumble, “You shoulda been killed. Why wasn’t it you?” Elaine reached for her mother once more, but was struck in the face with the broken bottle. She held her face and choked on her cry of surprise.
Elaine snuck past her mother to avoid any more attacks as her mother cursed her. She ran to her room and shut the door. She headed to the bathroom and looked at the mirror. A cut trailed by her lip and up her cheek along with a bruise on the same cheek had began to form. Elaine grabbed disinfectants with shaky hands and she cleaned the wound. She took a quick shower before she crawled in bed and cried herself to sleep.
“Hey… Ella. HEY!. Wake up!” A pillow hit Elaine and forced her to wake at a start. Her mother stood above her, her eyes swollen and sunken, “I got a job for you.” Elaine sat up as her mother sat beside her, “We can get that bastard back.”
“How?” Elaine muttered sleepily. “The police won’t investigate. They ruled it a suicide.”
Her mother touched her injured cheek, “I know, baby, but we can get rid of him ourselves.” Elaine flinched as a tinge of pain from the bruise. “He’ll let you get close to him. You can kill him.”
Elaine’s eyes widened, “MOTHER! I can’t--”
Her mother’s eyes narrowed as she jumped on her daughter, “You will do as I say!” She pressed her open palm against Elaine’s neck. “You owe me! I gave you life! You took your father’s life! YOU OWE ME!” She flipped.
Elaine gasped as her mom pressed harder. “So---mom” tears trickled down the side of her face. Her mother let her go and Elaine gasped.
“This is what your brother would have wanted. He would want revenge. He would want to get justice for an ungrateful whore like you.”
Those words stuck to Elaine as she numbly walked the streets. She had her hoodie drawn to hid the marks on her face and neck. Her hand rubbed her bruised neck as she turned to the bridge. She felt like the world was caving in on her. Her brother was her savior. She was safe when he was around, but now with him gone she knew her safety was gone. He was the only one who loved her after the incident with her dad. He took her in when he graduated high school in fear that their mother would end up killing her. A fate that had returned to Elaine once more. Elaine didn’t want to go home, but she had nowhere to go. Recently graduated high school, Elaine wasn’t in college nor could afford college. Her mother restricted her from college. She stopped and stared at the Han River below her. She wished she could have the courage to dive into the frigid water below her and be rid of the world.
“Elaine?” Her head shot up and looked at the person who called out to her. Her old friend, Jimin, stood with another boy with a hoodie drawn over his head. Jimin’s lips slipped to a small smile, “Long time no see.” A smile found her lips as she saw Jimin. Though he was part of BTS, he was the only one she could still look at with love. He had been the only one who didn’t change around her. His eyes trailed down her eyes to her cheek and neck. His eyes darkened as he reached out to touch her cheek, “Who did that to you?”
Elaine hide her bruises and looked back at the river. She covered the cheek injuries with her hand, “No one. I’m just clumsy.” She lied.
“Right” Jimin replied coolly. “I heard about what happened to your bro” she flinched. “Sorry… About all of it. It’s our fault for not keeping him safe.” He approached her and turned her to face him. His hands tightened on her shoulders, “Please, if anyone suspicious approaches you, tell us.” He begged. “You don’t understand how dangerous our world is. People will take out anyone they deem is close to us.”
Elaine moved out of his grasp and smiled a fake smile. “I’ll be fine, Jimin. None of us have been friends in years.” She cleared her throat, “I gotta go though. Bye. It was nice see you.” She scurried past the two.
Jimin pulled out his phone and Taehyung lifted his head as he watched Elaine leave, “You calling Hyung?”
“Obviously, Tae. Her brother warned us this would happen. That bitch didn’t even wait a week before she put her hands on Ellie” Jimin’s eyes never left Elaine’s body as she trudged down the bridge. He punched in the words he wanted and sent them to Hoseok. “He needs to know.”
Taehyung let out a hum. “You don’t think she’d take a dive?” Jimin gave him a startled look. Taehyung shrugged, “As someone who’s been at the edge, I can tell she’s close. Will she dive? I don’t know her like you guys do.”
Jimin grimaced and bit his lip, “How pissed would RM be if we ditch out on the drop?”
Taehyung sighed, “You go to the drop. I’ll follow her.” Jimin stared at Taehyung as if trying to figure out his angle, “I’ll do it until you get Hoseok to get here. Once he shows up, I’ll meet up with you. If she jumps, I can react faster than you could anyway. I’ll make sure she’s safe.” Jimin reluctantly agreed before he headed off to the drop location. Taehyung u-turned, stuffed his hands in his pockets, and followed Elaine at a safe distance.
Elaine put in her headphones as she stopped again at a far enough distance from Jimin. She leaned against the rail and took a deep breath. She shut her eyes as she concentrated on the music that flooded her ears. Her hand absentmindedly wondered to the injury on her neck. Her mother wasn’t always a violent drunk. It wasn’t until her father died trying to protect Elaine that she turned. She blamed Elaine for her father’s death and took her anger out on her until her brother was old enough to step up. He took her from the home and acted as her guardian. He made her happy and feel safe. Now, it was gone. Her safety, her happiness. All of it. She looked down at the water once more and leaned further over the rail. She watched the waves with admiration. They looked so carefree.
A hand touched her back and she jolted. She yanked out her headphones and looked at her uninvited guest. He didn’t let her say anything as he pulled her hood off her head and inspected her cheek and neck. He let out a growl, “Why did she do this?”
Elaine shrugged, “Who cares.” She hit his hands off her, “Why are you here, Hoseok?”
He gave her a serious look, “Jimin told me he saw you with bruises and a cut. I know you didn’t have them yesterday, so I came to check on you.”
“You check. You saw. You can go now.”
Hoseok pinned her to the rail as he placed his hands on either side of her, “You’re not safe there. Just come with me.”
“As if. I’d rather die on the streets.”
Hoseok’s eyebrow twitched as his hand released the rail only to hit it harder, “Damn it! No, you don’t. That’s not what your bro nor I would want. We love you.” Elaine looked down to keep her tears hidden. “You’re not safe with your mom. She’ll kill you” his voice cracked. “I couldn’t protect your brother, but I’m not going to make the same mistake and not protect you.”
Elaine’s mind went back to her mother’s plan and her words. This was her chance. She could get close to Hoseok and get rid of him. The thought made her sick. Why would she listen to a mother who wanted her dead? She couldn’t kill him even if she wanted to. She looked back at Hoseok. His eyes flooded with concern. Her heart skipped a beat and she silently cursed that her past feelings for the man before her found their way back to the surface. She bit her lip. What did she have to lose? If he had been the one to kill Clay then he could get rid of her anytime. Her mother would get rid of her at anytime as well. Both scenarios didn’t look good to her, but if she had to choose from the two… “Fine. I’ll stay with you.”
Hoseok let out a relieved sigh, “Okay…” He let out a breathless laugh, “Okay, let’s go to my place. I’ll call our doctor to check on your injuries.” She shook her head. “No doctor?” She nodded. “Alright, then you’ll have to deal with me fixing you up, okay?” He grinned as her head nodded once more. He took her arm in his and led her to his car.
Elaine was surprised that Hoseok didn’t lead her to the condo he took her the day before. Instead, she was led to a penthouse. It was large and spacious, but bare as if no one resided there. Elaine walked the living room and looked around the dull room as Hoseok went to the bathroom to retrieve a first aid kit. Elaine’s eyes stopped at a frame on the tv stand. Her hands grasped it and she touched the faces of the younger versions of Clay, Hoseok, Jimin, and Namjoon. Her lips twitched as she looked down at the four idiots. It was a time she wished they could return to. She put the photo down and wiped her eyes before her tears could fall.
“I got the first aid” Elaine yelped at the sudden sound. “Sorry” Hoseok cringed “Didn’t mean to scare you.” He patted the sofa for her to sit as he took a seat on the coffee table.
Elaine walked over and sat. “This place is empty.” She stated. Her eyes wandered to everything other than Hoseok’s face, “It feels cold and empty.”
Hoseok pulled out a cotton ball and some alcohol. He replied with a hum, “This is my penthouse, but I hardly ever use it. I prefer the condo. More memories.” He explained. He dabbed the cotton ball against her cheek and she sucked in a breath. “You can decorate the place if you want. I’m not usually here. I’ll leave my black card here for you to use. Feel free to spend it on anything.”
Elaine scoffed, “I’m not using your money. You don’t know what I’d do with it. I could spend it all on a college tuition and run you dry.” Her secret ambitions surfaced before she could stop herself from speaking.
“Then do it. Though, you wouldn’t run me dry with tuition. Barely hurts my account.” She looked at Hoseok who had been staring at her. She could tell by his look that he meant every word. “I know your brother was saving for you to go to university for baking. We have the money secure, so if you ever want to start, let me know and I’ll transfer the money.”
Elaine’s eyes pricked, “How do you know that? Why do you have it?”
Hoseok leaned back after he finished cleaning her cheek, “Though you stayed away from us, Clay kept in contact. We hung out a lot even though we knew you would hate it.”
“That idiot…”
Hoseok brushed her hair out of her face, “He told us to keep an eye on you if anything happened to him…” She looked up at him with watery eyes. “He told us about your mom and what she was capable of doing to you.” Elaine could do or say nothing as she began to cry in her hands.

A few hours ago, La Push, Emily's house:
Jacob stood in the opened door for not longer than a moment, watching you leaving the garage in his black towtruck. For the most part, you should be safe. Why the hell was Jacob so stressed about keeping you safe? You were, for now, just a normal Forks citizen like everyone else. Maybe it was just that you were his personal responsibility for some time now. He offered you a place to stay - naturally, you accepted the offer because you counted on being safe. And just ten minutes ago, a leech almost made you their personal lollipop or worse, they might've made a newborn out of you. Thanks to God, the shifter scent was too strong for the vampire. She saw Jacob waiting for you in the opened back door, but it was the typical stench that made her stop.
Jacob saw her for a fragment of a second, just standing there and watching you laying on the ground. Then, she gave Jacob a teasing smile and in the next second, she was gone. It was at that moment the man knew he had to send to some location which was overseen by the shifters all the time. There was also a second reason to keep you at Charlie's - that bitch surely smelled your scent. Since you didn't really live at the small flat, the werewolf scent wasn't covering you enough - and the raincoat didn't help much anyway. At the end of the day, it was you, who was still just a normal human being.
As soon as the truck disappeared behind the high school, Jacob walked to the back of the building and walked into the woods. Fuck the motorbikes, he was way faster on all four. He could borrow something from Sam, so he just bound the tore sweatpants around his upper thigh and let the animal take the lead. Of course, Leah and Quil noticed immediately - there was confusion in the group shared telepathic web. - 'Did something happen?' - Leah asked, but hadn't moved from her spot. She knew better than to annul the formation because Jacob had just shifted. At first, Jacob didn't answer and just let both her and Quil to look inside his mind. At first, both of them got way more confused when they saw the strange girl jumping out of the woods - yet then they felt it. The humongous smell of rotten tomatoes, the wolves could feel her presence and they saw her, just standing there with her eyes wild and hungry, the grin on her face was threatening.
'Okay, now I get it.' - Leah muttered after a moment. Sure, there was still a hint of confusion and curiosity regarding you in the shared consciousness, but honestly, you weren't that important in the bigger picture. - 'I can't believe she came so close! She was trying to get through here... I guess the cold one must've caught her scent. Are we going after her?' - Quil asked immediately, getting ready to run to Jake's position. - 'They're just trying how much closer they can get and top of that, that leech has already run away. I'm on way to Sam, we'll be trying to figure out a different system of watching Forks.' - Jake said in a calm voice, running in the direction of La Push at the highest speed he was capable of. - 'I'll be checking on the southern part of the city... Quil is on the west. Sam has five boys here today, so there will be no problem to run in circles around the town.' - Leah told Jake and since Quil caught on what she was doing, he immediately started to assure their leader as well. - 'No chance they're slipping, boss.'
Since that moment, both of them kept their thoughts silent. Quil and Leah were a good team - ever since Leah left Sam's pack, she became quieter and calmer. Now, she wasn't such a pain in the ass. And Quil didn't want to disturb with too much of empty thoughts in case something might've happened. For once, it was nice not to deal with Seth's endless sunshine energy. - 'I won't tell my little bro a thing, but thanks for the compliment.' - Leah laughed inside Jake's head. The phase where he was rolling his eyes after every word Leah said out loud was far behind him, now, he snickered lightly as well. - 'I would appreciate that. Okay, I'm at Sam's. Once we figure something out, I'll let you know.'
Jacob didn't wait for their answer and changed into his human form. Hastily, he put his old sweatpants on and ran to the house and knocked on the door. The twins, Emily and Sam's small girls, were running around the place and as Emily approached the door, she tried to calm the kids down. Yet as soon as they saw Jacob behind the door, they started to yell excitedly again. Emily wasn't stupid - as soon as she saw Jake visiting them during the day, even if Sam and Jake usually met during the nighttime watch, she knew something happened. The woman let Jacob inside and put cookies on the big plate in the middle of the table, saying... - "Give me a minute, I'll wake Sam up." - With that, she disappeared inside the house.
Sam was always taking his time getting up - yet when his wife said Jake's name and that he came just so he could talk with him, he tried his best. When he finally walked into the kitchen, half-dressed uncle Jake was sitting at the table with a muggle full of fresh coffee and watched small Brianna and Ellie drawing with various colors of wax crayons. It was just a small, peaceful moment that was not to last long. As soon as Jacob looked up to Sam, the older man could see the emotion in Jake's face. It... It wasn't fear, not even horror - it was rage. The younger man wasn't shifting, he was just angry. - "Angels?" - Sam smiled tiredly and kissed both of the twins on their temples. Both the girls smiled at their dad, but before Sam started talking again, Bri was already babbled at him, because both her front teeth fell out. - "Daddy, look! I drew you and mamma. And this is uncle Paul, auntie Rachel and... Auntie Leah and..."
The picture was more or less a formation of stickmen - each of them had a crazy hair color... But sure, it was the La Push family. - "You should go play to your room for a bit, my birds. Come on, I need to talk to uncle Jake. You can have him later." - Sam smiled. The girls hadn't got a favorite - but they were super pumped when Jacob came back to La Push since he was now living in Forks for the most part. Rachel and Paul were taking care of Billy, so he had more time for himself and his love for cars. - "Okay!" - Ellie cried out happily, picked a few crayons, and ran to their room with loud, happy squeals, Brianna following right after. These kids were always happy. Jake could see all the things Sam was fighting for. He had a lot to lose.
"Start talking. I know you're not here just to say hi." - Sam muttered out with a loud yawn, pouring some coffee into a mug as well. Emily was standing behind the stove, preparing some eggs and bacon for both the men. At that point, she didn't even ask - Jake just had to eat everything Emily had served. - "Yeah, something like that. That vampire bitch just showed up behind my house. Not even an hour ago." - "Did you try to catch her?" - Sam fired back immediately. Even though they had their differences back in the day, even if they argued a lot when Jacob left his pack, Sam was still worried about his brother in arms. For God's sake, they knew each other since they were small boys. Sam was just five years older. - "Unfortunately... Listen... She wasn't hunting me down, she was after someone else." - "That girl who's car crashed here? I've seen her in your head, just a glimpse." - Jake nodded.
"Well, this is getting worse and worse, I'm not going to lie. How did the girl get into trouble?" - Sam asked just when Emily served the breakfast; then she quickly kissed Sam's cheek, smiled at Jake, and left to the children's room so she would make sure they don't hear anything. - "I think she just went on a walk, she seemed off when I found her. Sam, Y/N realized something was in the forest with her." - "What did you tell her?" - "Well, I tried to misguide her, tell her that it was just a mountain lion." - For a moment, both the men fell silent. - "She might be on the target list now." - Sam muttered out after a moment. It took a while before everything clicked in Jake's brain. - "That girl borrowed my raincoat, but her scent was still too strong..." - "And if she saw you there, she might figure out that she's our weak spot. Where is she now? Is she safe?" - Sam didn't care who the hell you were - it could be anyone from Forks, La Push, Port Angeles and he would still care the same. The Protectors committed to protecting everyone in the town, no matter if they were a tourist or a local.
"Y/N? She's at Charlie's now, but he'll be coming to La Push later this afternoon. I asked him to take her with him. My people are here, your people are here - if they'd feel the slightest hint of the leech's stench, they'd go right after them. Leah and Quil are helping with watching the city boundaries." - Jacob leaned his back to the chair. His back was hurting really bad, but there was no time to rest now. - "How could the bloodsucker just slip past us? I don't understand?" - "We should call the doctor finally, ask him about the things regarding this group of leeches... I don't have a single good feeling about them."
Just ten minutes after Jacob proposed the idea, Sam was debating with Carlisle on the phone, describing everything about the group of vampires living near to Forks now. Carlisle said to Sam that this behavior can be considered normal - except the noticeable skills, these had with hiding their smell and tracks. Such vampires tended to be old and experiences - they had most probably encountered their first group of extremely good trackers; ones such as James was. After some time, the vampires who lived too long already wanted to feel the thrill of the game. James's talent was tracking - yet such things could be learned through hundreds of years of experience. It could be significantly harder since the shifters hadn't estimate how many of the players were out there. Sam's pack had encountered one, Jacob was one hundred percent positive there was a second one... But there could be one more. And once the vampires would figure out the right formation, there was nothing that would stop them. Well, this wasn't any good news. Fucking trackers.
"Do you think these old vampires might show here, doctor?" - Sam mumbled, listening to Carlisle's calm, enjoyable tone on a speaker. - "The Volturi?" - "Yes, I mean these we had already met. Can these be sent by them?" - For a moment, Carlisle was quiet, yet both men could hear chatter in the background. - "Hardly." - Alice's jolly voice answered suddenly. - "I can't see them even thinking about Forks or going there, or sending their people there. Aro is still hoping that he might get us, but... No. He doesn't choose to send his people your way." - She explained quickly. - "Are the vampires too conspicuous? I hadn't seen any news reporting murders in Forks." - Carlisle muttered after a moment, audibly going through some newspaper. This made Jake grin a bit; the man was still looking after his former place of stay. - "No." - Jacob said simply, which made Carlisle sigh. Well, that didn't mean anything good. - "Then the Volturi will hardly come to dismantle them, unfortunately. As long as the vampires aren't violating any laws, they won't be stopping them. Do you think that you need help?"
Clearly, Carlisle was asking 'should we come to help you?'. If there would be any sign that the pack can't do it on their own, they would spend no time sitting around. No matter what were the pack's members' opinions on the Cullens, Jacob had to say that the liked this family of leeches. - "No. We're doing just great, I just wanted to be informed. Have a nice Carlisle, nice hearing from you." - With that, Sam hung on the phone after the doctor said his goodbye and wished the men good luck. The news wasn't good at all. A pack of damn tackers who wanted to play a game with the pack.
After all, they were there to hunt - yet they were willing to take their time, wait for the pack to grew tired and then slip by in the dead of the night. What could've been worse? And the Volturi were neither behind this operation or about to stop it. There were dark clouds on the horizon, which wasn't making them any calmer. Both of them went for a short walk around Sam's house, trying to figure out... Something. And the only solution was... - "No. Sam, this isn't happening." - Jacob put both his hands on his chest, having the typical expression of an angry five-year-old. - "It's just a t-shirt." - Sam answered back, rolling his eyes. - "I already told her there are mountain lions... Sent her to a stranger's house and to a place she never been at. Now, I'll be stealing her clothes?" - Jacob snickered, shaking his head.
"She's the weak spot right now. They want to start a game, we will start a game, then - and on our own terms. All we need is her scent." - Jacob knew Sam was right, but... Seriously, you've been thinking about his ill intentions (killing you, let's be honest for a minute) since the first moment you saw him. And now, he was supposed to steal a piece of your clothing? Well... - "Okay. Okay. I'll try to get something. When we're talking about clothes, can you lend me some for the afternoon? I'll be picking her up on the beach." - With this question, both men walked back to the house for Jake to keep the promise. He spent playing with the girls a huge portion of his day, just before he fell asleep on Brianna's bed, snoring on the whole house.
To get to the beach, he certainly didn't use his human form. That would be too slow. He called to Billy's, making sure you're still at the beach - or if you decided to take off and maybe run away from Forks. Jacob wouldn't flinch at that. He wouldn't be surprised if you did. Yet, you still were there - with Rachel. The man groaned at that, as all little brothers do, rolling his eyes. He could only imagine everything Rachel told you about him. Dear Lord. Now, you could justify thinking like a killer when talking about him. Rachel didn't spare his good name at all, Jacob was positive there.
It was a busy day at the beach. Normally, Quil would spend his time there with Claire - yet the boy knew that sometimes, protecting the place because of the people you love is important as well. For a moment, he was just standing there and watched the sea lazily waving around - he knew that somewhere in the woods, there was Jared looking after the La Push territory. And just when he was thinking about that, he saw you and Rachel walking out of the forest side by side, laughing at something. Great. He could only guess how many stories did Rachel pull out.
Of course, he wouldn't Rachel walk home alone - it was almost six miles to their home after all. But he didn't plan on stopping on a visit either. Billy, who was in the elder council, naturally understood that Jacob was rather busy in the last few days - but Charlie did come to the car and made you roll down the window. - "I just wanted to ask... Hm... How was the beach?" - It looked like genuine interest from Charlie's part, which made you grin. It was nice of him to ask. - "Rachel showed me around... It was pretty impressive. I need to tell my friends about it, definitely." - Then, the cop shot a quick gaze at Jacob. For the love of God, he was hoping that the boy won't drag you into some funky business with him. - "If anything happens, I'm at the phone number all the time, okay?" - Charlie reassured himself before patting the side of the truck and leaving without waiting for you to answer. You were just watching him leaving back to the house, with a small smile on your face.
Jacob tried to ask you about your day, but you could tell that the 'worse' Jacob was now in the position. He didn't seem to smile a bit, he was kinda mumbly and quiet for the most part. As you walked into the garage again, you knew you had to do something. This couldn't wait two days. No. You had to do it immediately. As soon as he would sneak out, you'll follow right after. Yeah, mountain lions, sure... This made you grin as you worked on the paperwork once more. Throughout the whole time, you hadn't seen Jacob - the whole time, he was outside and worked on your Beetle, changing the smaller parts he had with him. It was obvious that you will have to visit a wrecking lot soon - in search of working components, hustling the best prices out of that. By the way, the components were even on sale - those which your car needed so desperately. The wrecking lots were your last chance.
Around the same time as the previous day, you've just told Jacob you're going to take a shower and go to sleep - which he only barely acknowledged. He was too busy working and thinking about Sam's theory. It wasn't right. The vampire girl saw Jacob looking out for you and even though she didn't know you two have nothing in common, she most likely connected you as partners of sorts. He could steal one of the t-shirts you've put into the laundry, couldn't he? All it took was an article of clothing to lure the leeches somewhere where they wouldn't be in advantage - like a huge plain, the one next to Ozette Lake. Fuck, this was uncomfortable. He couldn't even look you in the face.
That night, when he was leaving for the watch, he didn't even lock the door - it wouldn't be functional against a vampire. He was to stay nearby the town, looking after the damn house - while Embry and Seth, as humans, got their orders from Sam. Jacob didn't know what the strategy was - he had only Jared and Brody on the watch in Forks. Jared could be only barely counted in since he was sleeping while walking. The boy took a 24 lasting shift, no wonder he was so done.
As soon as you noticed Jake marching to the woods, you put his raincoat on, since it was raining again, and went after him, lurking in the shadows. If Jacob would be in his normal human self, he would hear you. He wouldn't smell you, since the rain and wind was making the scent trail fade away rather quickly, but he would know somewhere's there based on the sounds. You weren't as dumb to walk straight after him - you could barely see him, hiding behind the trees, but you could still hear him breathing. Dear God, was he breathing loud? You hadn't noticed before. Suddenly, he stopped and started to breathe quicker and quicker.
Curiosity got the better out of you, let's be honest here, as you sneaked past a few trees, getting closer to him, finally catching a good look at the man. He was... Breathing really quick, shaking. His muscles were visibly tensing under his skin, but you knew that something wasn't adding up here. Was he having a seizure? Was he chanting himself before another kill? Or was this the ritual after which the second part of his split personality came out? Fuck, you were confused. Your nails dug deeper into the tree and your breath hitched as the tension got the better out of you. Unknowingly, you pressed to the wet, cold tree and didn't blink from that point on.
It was fascination at its best. You didn't even jump when growls cut through the silence, resonating through the whole, quiet forest. The man fell on his knees, growling and grunting in immersive pain. And that was when you saw it - a strike of russet fur flying out of his body, traveling on his spine. And then... Jacob exploded. He quite literally was torn to shreds, just like his worn-out pants and instead of a man... There was a wolf, bigger than you. This animal could eat you like an appetizer and barely blink about it. No matter how beautiful the animal was, your brain couldn't grasp what was happening at the moment. In combination with holding your breath for the last minute, it resolved in one thing. As you forcefully grasped for any air, your head spun. Once, twice, and then you felt your body falling to the ground. Maybe, you would've got up, but you felt the back of your head hitting a root on the ground. A dull thud sounded through the forest as it started to fade away.
You fainted. This caught Jacob's attention as he realized something terrorizing - he had a lot to explain now.
