to be honest anyone in the gangs of tokyo rev might as well cried in the exam because im guessing none of them actually put in much big effort to study in education
except mitsuya and hakkai, kokonoi and taiju seem more serious too, draken probably puts only like medium effort. takemichi, with hina's guidance might pull through. and then there's definitely kisaki...
yk im probably even guessing that mikey doesn't even attend the exam- or does he???
i mean we've seen baji, and many people think he's dumb in terms of education but what if what if, the rest of the boys are too??? or they just study till they barely pass or something
but then again i could be wrong since a lot of them made it to highschool ( but then again it's because toman disbanded and everyone just worked in their own ways? )
( this isn't a discrimination against their education smarts but just a simply thought )
Hmmm.....

Tumblr media
Mikey doesn't and won’t care. An image of Mikey with a book, learning of his own free will about, let’s say, human anatomy, or doing a whole page of complicated equations with square roots and logarithms, doesn’t sit in my mind right. We’ve seen him saying that attending school is important, and then sleeping on his desk during every lesson, it’s obvious he doesn’t care
Draken is a bit more tamed, he may even prepare for an exam once in a blue moon, but he still doesn’t care about the whole school thing much. My boy has his goal and he does everything that may help him to achieve it – which means if he doesn’t see any value in learning a certain subject, he simply won’t do it. Bike shop supremacy, Kenny says.
On the other hand I know for a fact Mitsuya studies. The boy doesn’t sit with books until midnight each day, but he still grasps as much as he can from the education he’s provided with. He’s thankful for what he has plus he just wants to be a good example for his little sisters. Huge good big bro vibes.
Chifuyu looks like someone who doesn’t study much, yet soaks knowledge like a sponge. If he attends classes, he doesn’t have to learn anything at home. If he has a few days break from school, well… good job Fuyu, bcs ur gonna be a bit fucked! But somehow this lucky boy manages to get a decent mark every time, what we can’t say about…
…his dear comrade. Baji ain’t the sharpest tool in a shed, nor is he someone with a great attention span. The only way he gets good grades is when Chifuyu revises material with him. For the younger boy it’s a little repetition, for Keisuke a battlefield.
Kazutora isn’t bothered by the idea of studying. It’s an option. Sure. Is he actively doing anything connected with school? No. Why would he? He does get the concept behind it, but he simply doesn’t want to. He’s fine without it, luck's on his side and he almost always passes exams on his first tries.
When it comes to Pah and Peh I think they are at pretty the same level of smartness. As much as I’m sure Peh takes a book once in a while to make sure he’s going to pass the semester, Pah doesn’t care. He knows his future is secured so he focuses on anything he wishes for.
I don’t think Sanzu even attends school??? He doesn’t look like a type to think hmmm, yeah, it’s a great day to meet these annoying fuckers, have hands covered in a nasty ass chalk, and to do some useless assignments! On the other hand Haru looks like someone who has absorbed chalk like candies as a kiddo, so I’m sure there has been time he attended school. He just doesn’t do it anymore lol
Inupi studies only on specific subjects, the one with teachers he likes and respects. He doesn’t care much if it’s a subject he likes or not, if the person teaching him is likable he’s going to do his best not to disappoint them, and if not… he’s gonna make sure they're gonna remember him. I just think he’s still this salty ‘n petty kid deep, deep inside lmaoo
Koko’s naturally good. He doesn’t learn much, he has decent grades on default, just ‘cause he’s smart. Oh, and he’s this annoying kid who always argues with teachers and corrects them. He doesn’t care if they don’t like him, after all there’s nothing they can do to him due to his high grades.
Izana isn’t bothered by most of the subjects. He doesn’t even attend them if he finds them useless. But if there’s a person he despites, he does everything to humiliate them in terms of knowledge. He studies only on this exact subject he shares classes with this person, and does everything to be better than them
Kakucho is a perfect example (I would say the best in the whole Tokrev) of a good student. His learning habits are well-balanced, he knows when to make breaks, doesn’t overwork himself, and gets the best grades. Somehow every teacher likes him and doesn’t get how he’s friends with somebody like Izana
Ran and Rindou are these mysterious fellas who appear only on the day of final exams. There are many rumors about them, ‘cause they don’t attend any classes, don’t do any assignments for the whole year, just enter the building as the finals start, complete them, and forget about this place for next few months until the next important test happens. Do they pass? barely…
Does he look like he cares? Exactly. Hanma doesn’t find anything exciting in the idea of studying, learning from some extremely fucking boring books, so why would he even try? Why would he even attend school? I mean, there are times where he is seen on the school grounds, don’t get me wrong, but it’s always ‘cause he wants to kick somebody’s ass, educational purposes not detected.
Kisaki is a genius. Perfect grades – no studying involved. Sly motherfucker.

The Sinner- Father John Pruitt x Reader (Midnight Mass)
Summary: You've never been a religious person but when a new Priest arrives at your small town, well, everything changes and he's the reason why you head to church.
Tumblr media
(Yeah, so like I just finished watching Midnight Mass, holy crap did the priest did it for me. Anyway enjoy some smut based on him. I was listening to Abuse by William Control since he makes these types of bdsm religious songs/videos. I love him so maybe you will if you're into alternative. I myself am a goth so Reader will be a goth here. I am not a religious person myself but..I am going to hell for this."
"(Y/N)?" I hummed when a voice called out my name. It was my mom once again. I was laying face down on my bed mindlessly reading through one of the many books I've read many times.
She appeared by the door frame to which I ignored and kept on flipping the pages ones I read them. "It would be nice if you were to go out for some fresh air. I saw that boy again, Riley."
"Riley? No shit, he's back?" I ask myself not believing that he's truly back.
My mom gave me a disapproving look because of my language, to which I simply ignored again. "Maybe you should go and meet up with him."
It's been awhile since I've seen him. He was locked up for so long that I'm sure he came back as a changed but broken man. "Maybe I will." I mutter and watched her leave my room.
"Today is Sunday! We're going to church later, Monsignor Pruitt is back." I heard my mother shout from the outside of the house.
Monsignor? Is it the same old man who used to still talk back then many years ago? If I were him I'd go on a long ass vacation and never return. Anyway, I know my mother was going to bother me if I said no in going to church.
I sometimes ask myself if coming back to Crockett Island was a good idea or not. Most times if feels like it isn't worth it living here. This is a small island, a small town with the few of the population here who are closed off people. They believe in any rumor and know too much about others.
My mother lives here alongside her sisters and brothers who are in a few houses nearby. One of her sisters is devoted to god and acts too much like Beverly Keane. Both of them of course get along just fine.
"You better dress yourself nicely." I heard her sister, my aunt, Marcie warn me when she passed by to get some things ready.
"I don't remember church having a dress code." I sarcastically told her and didn't bother in changing myself.
I was dressed myself in black from head to toe, my hair matching the same color. I had on a black dress with boots and a large coat, a few jewelry here and there and a spiked choker. I'll say hi to Riley if I see him in church, surely he must be hanging out with Erin by now.
"(Y/N)! It's time." I finally got out of my bed and went over to my mother who was waiting for me outside. I joined her as we walked down to familiar path to the church.
"Seems like tonight storm is going to be big and disastrous. We'll put up some cardboard and wood on your windows so you won't see a thing." My mother reminded me. I hummed and continued walking silently next to her.
"Do I really have to go? this is stupid." My mother knew too well that I am not a religious person and neither is she that much. But she likes to know, wants to know that someone is out there watching over us.
I placed my hands into my pockets and kept to myself until we reached the small church up ahead. "Sister, I'm glad to see you made it early." My aunt told my mother and completely ignored my presence.
"Hmm. It's been quite a while since I last saw you near a church or any religious event." Beverly Keane the religious bitch said when she noticed me. Scowling at me on the inside. My aunt and Beverly were here outside greeting everyone who'd come.
"She really want to come and join us this time." My mom joined in and held my shoulders. "Isn't that right?" She squeezed my shoulders a bit.
"Sure." I simply replied and tried moving past them until Beverly stood in my way again.
"Can you try and dress up a bit differently next time? I'm afraid some people might find you offensive or scared."
I looked her in the way and I so wanted to also her. She was hiding her smirk do bad. "(Y/N), it's nice to see you."
Another voice spoke my name from the inside and I saw Erin waving at me. I walked past Beverly and ignored her looks.
"Hey, thanks for saving me." I mutter and see Erin's warm smile.
"Don't mention it. We all need a break from her from time."
"I don't get how you can put up with her everyday at school." Erin is a teacher, we would hang around at times and she'd tell me the many times that woman could come to her and complain. That's all she does.
"We should hang out more often, I know you're busy but it'd be nice to chat." Erin is pregnant so she can't exactly do much. We used to walk around the island and talk about many things.
"The three of us. Yes, we should." Three of us? I look back and see Riley, he is sitting with his family and quickly looked down when Erin looked back. They used to be such a nice couple.
My mother came in and joined us on the same bench. I sat down first and heard them talking to each other. Some people stared at me and some didn't, the few who did made me feel self conscious.
I sometimes do feel very awful about myself and other times I don't care. It all depends on how I am feeling. That's why I prefer to stay by myself "You just need someone to love you for who you are, only like that you'll be happy." Erin once told me when I was at my lowest.
I yawned loudly and was hit on my arm so I'd shut up. My mother gave me a harsh look and looked away. I frowned and rubbed my arm, it did hurt a bit. "The Monsignor is here." I heard her say.
Great! Now do wait for all of this to be finish. Beverly Keane rushed up the front of the church and took her seat. I rolled my eyes and kept staring striaght ahead. Everyone began to sing from their books. I was certainly taken aback when I saw a young tall man with dark eyes and jet black hair.
Everyone was silent, no one expected this young man here, we were all expecting Monsignor Pruitt.
I watched carefully as he walked down the center aisle and rose to the podium. His eyes looked at everyone until they landed on me for a moment. It felt weird. I felt my chest tighten and my cheeks were burning up a bit.
"Good Morning. I know I am not who you expected to see this morning. My name is Father Paul Hill. And I was sent by the diocese to fill in Monsignor Pruitt for a few weeks. He fell ill. He is recovering back at a hospital in the mainland. But it is my pleasure to be with you all at St. Patrick's."
I will admit and say that I was paying close attention to what he said. It was odd but I felt like something was attracting me to him. Everyone began to line up to take the body of Christ and his blood, being wine.
"(Y/N), let's go." My mom gritted her teeth when she began to grab my sleeve so I'd get up.
"No way." I angrily muttered, I was mostly feeling embarrassed. My mother frowned along with her sister and finally left me alone
**********
It was already over. Everyone stood up and began to head out, most of them stopping by to greet and welcome Father John. Beverly and Marcie my aunt began to talk to each other. "Father John! Welcome!" My mother exclaimed when she reached his side after Riley's family left.
"Thank you for your kind hospitality ma'm. And this is?" I tried walked past them but my mother grabbed my coat and stopped me just in time.
"This is my lovely daughter." She smiled wide.
"I'm (Y/N). It's nice to see a new face around here, welcome to this crappy town." I joked.
Father John turned to face entirely and his dark eyes rested on me longer than expected. "Lovely she is indeed." He said ignoring my joke which my mother found a bit offensive to say in front of him.
Father John extended his hand for me to take which I did and shook it.
"I saw you sitting back in Communion along with Mister Riley. God accepts all of us, it's just a matter of time before you give in to him, (Y/N)."
"I'm sure he'll be surprised then if I decide to give in." I blushed when I looked up at him and realized we were talking for a bit and staring at each other.
I felt my mother staring at us both quietly and so were Beverly and Marcie with a warning look. "I'm not that much into religious but that mass was wonderful." I compliment.
He smirks a little and nods. "Does that mean you'll come every Sunday then?"
"I'll try too if you're the one who will preach about the Lord." I decided to flirt a little.
Marnie shot me a angry but warning look when I said that. Father Paul began to chuckle at my words. “That’s quite the compliment I must say, (Y/N)." he said looking at me again.
"Can I have a word with you, Father John." My mom said all of the sudden.
"Hm? Certainly." I watched them both walk a bit further with Father John glancing to see me every now and then.
I turned around and almost had a heart attack when I was face to face with Marnie. "Don't you dare get any ideas with Father John much less fuck him like you always do when you meet men.You better repent yourself before it's too late." My aunt Marcie warned me bitterly and went back to join Beverly's side.
I felt dirty, embarrassed at her bitter words. How dare she tell me that?!
"(Y/N)? Can you please join me back inside." Father John said to me when he joined us. I forced a smile on my lips and tried my best to not break down and cry.
"O-Of course."
"Oh, Father John. Do you need any company?" Marcie said when we walked inside the church again. Beverly also sticking to her side.
"N-No thank you. You've both been of great help, but I can deal with her." Father John said when I went to sit down and the door closed behind us.
"Your mother is concerned." He speaks up when he makes sure no one is around.
I raise an eyebrow and he continues and quickly looks at me up and down at my usual clothing style. "About your looks and your acting."
Fucking knew it. She won't say it to my face but she always agrees with my aunt on most things. "Now now don't be upset, each of us went through a rebellious phase, others just like dressing alternatively."
I scoff and crossed my arms over my chest and sat down in front of the Father who was watching me closely. "It's been years since I've dressed this way, yes, it was a way to get attention but I enjoy my looks."
I'm in my late twenties and I think it's still stupid that my mother thinks that I need to change my ways to please others.
"Now, I understand. I didn't mean to offend you in anyway. People who are close minded don't accept the strange and unusual, there's good and bad in this world and all of that seems to disappear when people fix their eyes on people who dress like you."
This feels like back at school, when I would constantly get called in to talk with the psychologist.
"I for one think you look nice the way you do." This made me look back at him and I felt my heart beating faster.
I chuckle lowly and try to hide my face from the tall handsome Father. "That means a lot coming from someone who's very religious."
"Your way of dressing harms no one. People should see that instead of backtalking once they leave this holy place."
"Tell me about your life, (Y/N)."
"There's nothing interesting about me, I came back a year ago since I had no money and decided to join my mother back again since she's mostly alone. My dad died about three years ago, we weren't close but it did hurt when he left. I've had my fair share of partners-"
I joke and noticed Father John looking at me intently, paying close attention. "Have you acted upon your instincts towards any of them, sorry if I am making you uncomfortable."
Uncomfortable? Oh..now I get it.
"No I have not, many especially, Keane might think that I'm a slut, but no I am still pure." I smirk and feel a bit annoyed at that question. He's the first person I've told him that.
Everyone thinks I sleep around with men because of the way I dress and sometimes act, but no. I'd never give myself away to a stranger.
"What do you think of God?"
This made me look at him confused. Of course this question was going to be asked. I smile and shake my head, "He's never helped me. I sometimes believe he hates me, we were so poor back then. We had no way of coming back here to live, my mother couldn't afford that much and honestly? I was planning on selling myself for some money."
Father stayed silent while I continued. "He's never given us a home, money, clothes. We all need to work our asses. Why can't he help the poor? Joe Collie? Everyone sees him as a villain, a bad guy. Not me. He's just a guy who's misunderstood and wasn't guided correctly."
"And you blame that on God?" He suddenly spoke up.
".. I'm not sure." I answer truthfully.
Father smiles just a little and he slowly came and sat next to me. "God doesn't hate you. God loves us all, he is around even if we cannot see him. Sometimes he can be disguised as a person-"
"And so can the Devil." I tell and looked at him.
Father John glanced at me too, his dark eyes staring into my own. "Do you believe in the Devil as well?"
I shrug my shoulders. "I don't either. I might if something were to happen, Father."
We heard loud thunder once I said that, we looked around and noticed that the sky was now cloudy and dark. How long has it been since we've been talking?
Another thunder roared along with lightning, we felt a heavy breeze and it began to rain.
Father smiled at me and didn't seem to mind the harsh weather that was about to commence outside. "Please, call me John. Would you care to come to my home? I'm afraid I can't let you walk on your own in this rain."
I returned the smile and nodded my head. "I-If you're so kind, yes! It'll only be once the storm passes.
**********
I hit my head against the pillow and squeezed my eyes shut and moaned loudly as I held onto John's set of dark locks. He held my legs apart, placed them on his shoulders and began to eat me out. John moans against me while he brings his thumb to massage my clit, I cry out in pleasure and begin to move my hips when he begins to insert two then three fingers inside of me.
Both my hands move down to grip his hair tightly, "Please don't stop." his eyes darken when I moan those words.
Father John slides his is tongue slides inside of me, he then licks, sucks, slides a finger back inside of me, I am a moaning mess and for once I feel blessed that no one is around to interrupt me.
I feel my stomach getting tighter. John grips my hips tightly pulling me closer when I began to grind into his face. "J-John!" I tug onto his hair when he doesn't stop. "Father John!" Just then everything stopped and it felt like heaven.
I fall back onto his bed and see him slowly getting up to his feet. "I'm afraid my child, you'll have to cleanse yourself..to me entirely." I watch Father John closely, he begins to unbuckle his belt and begin to pull his pants down-
"(Y/N)." I sit up abruptly and held onto a pillow. I look around at my surroundings and found myself in Father John's small home.
The thunder and rain hasn't stopped at all, I didn't even realize that the lights had went off. "Are you okay?" John came in with a blanket and draped it over my shoulders.
He was just sitting in front of me a moment ago, reading a book outloud, the Bible probably. Was I seriously thinking of Father John in an unholy way? Was I really that bored from his Bible reading or was it to distract myself from the storm outside.
I felt my palms getting sweaty and I could feel my entire body growing hot. I have never thought of someone like this before, much less a Father. I have done many things before, but I am definitely going to hell for this.
"You seemed deep in thought? Is anything bothering you at all?" John began to ask, he then let our a soft chuckle.
"I apologise. I'm afraid I am not used to having visitors." I take a quick look at John and see his dark eyes on me.
"Are you perhaps afraid of the dark? Have you always been afraid of storms?"
I nod my head and continue to look up ahead, I can't face him not after what I just thought of him. My eyes wander over to his lap and I quickly look away and blush.
"Yes I-I've always been afraid. It's the only thing that hasn't changed. It's getting late, I have to go." I said standing up and was ready to leave but John stopped me.
"I cannot let a child of God wander on their own. Especially at a night like this, I wouldn't forgive myself now would our Lord."
I furrowed my eyebrows and knew there was no use in arguing with Father John. I slowly sat back down and hugged my legs together, I tensed up when I felt John's hand on my shoulder.
"Let us resume reading the holy Bible." John smiles to himself and reached for the Bible again. He opens it and begins to read from it.
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

This time you sprang up from your bed, sweating bullets. Sobs escaped your mouth, as you remembered the horrifying nightmare you had just woken up from.
“Bad dream?” You suddenly heard Heeseung’s voice murmur in a sleepy voice. You almost forgot that he was staying over tonight.
You grabbed a tissue from your nightstand and blew your nose, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you up.”
Heeseung sat up and gently stroked your hair in hopes to comfort you, “You’ve been having a lot of nightmares lately. Is everything okay?”
“This week has been so stressful,” You said honestly. “And you know stupid me always overthinks every little thing.”
Heeseung caressed your cheek, “One, you’re not stupid and two, do you want to talk about it?”
You shook your head, “No it’s okay. I’m okay.”
“Are you sure? Do you need anything?”
You nodded, “Just...just hold me please.”
If Heeseung was more awake he probably would’ve smiled at what you said. He happily brought you to lay back down on the bed and held you as you asked him to. You instantly felt better by his warmth and touch.
“Good night Jagiya,” He whispered.
You snuggled closer so your head could rest in the crook of his neck, before pecking his lips.
“Night, Heedeungie.”

JAY
You really didn’t want to go to Jay’s dorm at 11 pm, when it was nearly midnight. Especially because he probably had a hectic schedule today and he needed to sleep. But here you were, pathetically standing at his front door wearing only a thin sweatshirt, shorts, and sliders.
“Noona? I didn’t know you were coming,” Niki was the one who answered the door.
You tried to smile at the younger boy, “I’m sorry...but is Jay home?”
Fortunately, Jay had already headed toward the entrance after Niki went to answer the door. His heart rate increased when he recognized your voice. He motioned for Niki to let him know he could handle this. The maknae nodded and carried on with his nightly routine.
“Jagiya, what are you doing here?” He asked without thinking. “I mean not that I mind at all.”
For a few seconds, you looked at Jay who looked exhausted, most likely due to hours of dance practice. You regretted why you even came here in the first place when Jay and his members needed to rest.
“I-I...it’s not a big deal actually,” You lied. “I’m sorry for bothering you guys at this hour, I’ll just leave-”
But Jay took your hand before you could take off, “No you’re not bothering us. Stay.”
When your eyes met his own, he could tell that you need him right now. He knew better than to let you slip away like this when you clearly weren’t okay. He could care less if it was late.
He knew it must’ve been really bad because you never came to him like this. Usually, you kept to yourself. He felt a little guilty for feeling happy that you finally came to him.
“Were your parents fighting again?” He asked after bringing you into the dorm’s living room. He gestured for you to come to sit beside him so he could bear hug you.
“Yeah…” You replied, almost inaudibly. “My d-dad was cursing at my mom and she was saying really hurtful things.”
“And you couldn’t sleep?”
“Yeah pretty much…” You gave a half-suppressed laugh. You always made it seem like a joke when you were talking about your struggles. It was how you coped.
You wiped away tears that fell without you knowing, “I don’t understand why they don’t divorce already. Our family is already a wreck.”
“If I could make everything better with the snap of my fingers, I swear I would (Y/n),” Jay gently moved your head so you could rest on his shoulder.
You wrapped your arms around his neck and hugged him tighter, “Can I stay here, just for tonight? I promise I’ll leave first thing in the morning.”
“You can stay here as long as you want Jagiya,” Jay kissed your temple. “Hell, you could even move in with us if you want.”
“Jay, you know your managers will not allow that.”
Jay shrugged, “I’m sure we could work something out. Besides, I need someone to help me cook for these six children.”
He smiled when he saw you laugh at his humor. At least you were feeling a little bit better.
“But seriously, you’re always welcome here,” Jay said. “Don’t you ever feel like you’re bothering me because you’re not, okay?”

JAKE
“(Y/n)-ah, I made some ramyeon for us!” Jake came over to you with a steaming pot. You weakly smiled when the puppy came to sit down next to you at the table.
“I’m sorry Jake,” You said quietly. “But I’m not hungry.”
Jake set the food in front of you and pouted, “Really? But this is your favorite!”
“That’s why you should eat deliciously for the both of us,” You encouraged, patting his shoulder.
“Jagiya, I know you’ve been skipping meals recently.”
In contrast to his words, the kindness in Jake’s voice didn’t change in the slightest. You could hear the genuine concern in it though.
You’ve never had such a sweet boyfriend like Jake before. He always wanted to take care of you as much as you took care of him. So whenever something felt off about you to him, he immediately wanted to find the cause so he could help.
“I’m just on a diet, Jakey,” You ruffled his hair, trying to downplay the situation. “I’ve been wanting to lose some weight.”
“Diet?! Why?” Jake was so confused. He had never seen you like this before. “You don’t have any weight to lose, Jagi.”
You avoided eye contact, looking down at your hands.
“I just don’t like the way I look okay?” You said in almost a whisper. “I want to be pretty like all those girls in the k-pop groups.”
“But you’re just as pretty as they are, (Y/n)-ah,” Jake said, not understanding how you could think you weren’t. He absolutely adored you.
“Did someone say something? Is that why you’re dieting?”
You quickly shook your head, “No, not at all. I was just looking through Instagram the other day and I got insecure.”
“I understand how you feel. But you’re perfect the way you are,” Jake said. He made sure to be careful with his words because he didn’t want you to feel hurt.
“And you shouldn’t starve yourself,” He added, taking his chopsticks and twirling some noodles around them. “It’s not healthy and I don’t want you getting sick.”
“Jake…” You looked petulant when your boyfriend held up some food to your mouth.
“Please eat. Just one bite, I promise!”
You just couldn’t resist those brown puppy eyes of his, could you? With a defeated sigh, you let Jake feed you. When you did, he kissed you happily on the lips.
“That’s my girl!”

SUNGHOON
“What’s wrong?” Sunghoon asked when he saw the look on your face. It was a mix between mild panic and disappointment.
Your eyes didn’t leave your phone, “I-I got 0.5 off on my math test.”
“What? That’s pretty good!” Sunghoon smiled, thinking that you were happy. But you weren’t, you really weren’t.
You knew that everyone hated that overachiever type of person who got angry when they got anything lower than an A. But it wasn’t just that for you. The standards you brought onto yourself was anything you did that was less than a 100, was considered a failure in your eyes.
“I-I don’t know what I did wrong. I should’ve studied harder,” You started to ramble to yourself. “Damn it, now my grade is going to lower.”
Sunghoon’s smile was crestfallen when he heard this. He knew how much of a perfectionist you can be but he didn’t think it was to this extent.
“(Y-Y/n)-ah, are you crying?”
You quickly swiped your cheek with the back of your hand, “I-I’m sorry. It’s just I really want to get straight As by the end of this semester.”
“I know you do. You’ve been working so hard,” Sunghoon said, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “But you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself Jagi.”
“I know...but I can’t help it,” You said, trying to keep your voice stable. “I just feel like I could do so much better.”
Your boyfriend sighed, wanting to cheer you up. He understood the feeling of not being good enough.
“It’s okay to want to improve,” He told you. “But your grades don’t determine who you are (Y/n)-ah. You can fail a class and I’d still think you’re the smartest person I know.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at Sunghoon’s ridiculous statement, “You’re just saying that because you’re my boyfriend.”
“No, I mean it,” Sunghoon insisted. A teasing glint appeared in his eyes. “Should I show you that I mean it?”
“Sunghoon I don’t think-” You tried to say before Sunghoon shut you up with a passion-filled kiss.
He was going to make sure you knew how much he truly admired you, no matter what your expectations of yourself were.

SUNOO
“I wasn’t yelling at you (Sister’s Name), I was just saying that-” You tried to keep your voice calm. You were flustered enough as it is because you were having an argument with your sister when your boyfriend was here.
“Stop acting like you’re better than me,” your younger sister retorted. “At least I’m not the one who cuts myself!”
Sunoo watched as your face turned red at her sister’s hurtful words. You wanted to scream and tell your sister to shut up and that she didn’t know what she was saying. But you knew that you wouldn’t be making anything better. So you stormed into your bedroom.
Sunoo quickly ran after you, “(Y/n)-ah!”
He made sure to close the door when he entered the bedroom. There you were with your head in your hands, trying not to pull your hair out.
“(Y/n)-ah…” Sunoo slowly walked over to hug you because he knew you needed one.
Tears streamed down your cheeks, “I-I can’t believe...I can’t believe she said that to my face. Sh-she has no idea how crappy I feel.”
“I know,” Sunoo spoke softly, gently patting your back. “Don’t listen to what she said about you.”
You pulled away but still held his hand, “I’m sorry you had to see that.”
“It’s okay,” Sunoo reassured you. “I’m right here by your side. So you can just let it all out alright?”
You giggled when he peppered your face with kisses. He always did that whenever you were feeling down.
“Thank you, Sunoo-yah.”

JUNGWON
It was late in the evening and you two were the only ones still awake at the dorm. You had come over earlier to bring them food and by the time everyone finished eating, it was too dark out. So Jungwon insisted that you stay the night.
That’s what brought you two sitting together on the sofa and just talking. One of Jungwon’s favorite things to do with you was to cuddle and talk for hours. You always listened to whatever was on his mind, whether it was good or bad.
But tonight was different because Jungwon wanted to listen to you talk. He didn’t want you to think that he didn’t care about your life and how you were doing. So you just told him about school and how things were going at home. Somehow the topic traveled to your mental health which was something you hated talking about with others.
“It’s okay, Jagi,” Jungwon reassured you. “You can talk to me, I promise not to judge.”
You let out a shaky sigh, “To be honest I haven’t been doing that great.”
Jungwon sat up straighter so he could listen to what you had to say. Just by your first sentence, he could tell that you’ve been holding in a lot of feelings.
“I just hate myself so much,” You confessed quietly. “And I know, I know there’s something wrong with me.
Even though he wanted to say something, he stayed silent and placed his hand on top of yours.
“But I’m afraid to get help because my-my mom has anxiety and my sister has her own problems and I-I know it’s hard for my dad to handle,” You added, feeling tears build up.
You mentally cursed yourself, you didn’t want to cry in front of Jungwon but your heart wasn’t listening to you. You couldn’t hold it in, no matter how hard you tried. Jungwon held your hand tighter when the first tears fell.
“I don’t want...I don’t want to be a burden to them and I don’t want them to see me as weak. So I decided that when I’m older I can find out what’s wrong with me. But...but sometimes I’m afraid that the longer I wait...the longer I wait...I’m scared that something bad will happen.”
At this point, any walls you had built to protect yourself were taken down. You usually never let yourself be vulnerable in front of someone. You don’t know why you were being so emotional right now. Maybe...maybe it was because you had bottled it all for so long and everything has piled up until now.
Nonetheless, Jungwon didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around you. He felt upset with himself because he didn’t know you were feeling like this and he wished he had known sooner.
You harshly wiped your tears away and sniffed, “I don’t even care anymore, Jungwon-ah. I’m fine and I’m...I’m sorry for telling you all this.”
“Why are you sorry?” He frowned. “I’m your boyfriend, so you should tell me these things. I’m sorry if I made you feel like you couldn’t.”
Jungwon held you tighter and kissed your forehead, “If you ever want to get help, I’m right here for you. And if you don’t then just come to me whenever you need to.”
You listened quietly to Jungwon’s comforting words and let the warmth of his hug envelop you. For the first time, you didn’t regret spilling out your heart to someone. Then just thinking about Jungwon made you realize that-
“You’re not alone Jagiya. I may not understand everything you’re going through but I love you a lot and I don’t want you to feel like a burden anymore, because you’re not.”
“You love me, Jungwon?”
Jungwon looked into your eyes for a moment before he leaned down to kiss you tenderly.
“More than you and I could ever imagine.”

NIKI
Niki didn’t know what to think when he found you sitting on the floor, hopelessly crying in the dance practice room. You had been here since last night, trying to perfect this one choreography. But you kept making the same mistake no matter how hard you practiced. At this point, you were losing confidence and breaking down.
Niki kneeled in front of you, “(Y/n)-ah?”
“I keep screwing up this one part in the dance Niki,” You cried out in frustration.
Niki gently reached his hand to wipe your tears, “Don’t cry, (Y/n)-ah. It’s okay.”
“No it’s not okay,” You said in denial. “If I don’t get this dance right, I won’t be able to debut. And-and then I’ll let my members down, my managers, and you.”
“(Y/n)-ah, you’re going to debut. I know you are,” Niki tried to encourage you. “Everyone has those off days, even me.”
You had stopped crying by now, which left Niki feeling relieved. Still, he made sure to hug you.
“Let’s just take a break,” He said. “I promise to help you with the choreography later, okay?”
He smiled when you nodded and cutely sniffed like a bunny rabbit. He wasn’t used to taking care of others, but he learned a lot from watching his hyungs. So just like his hyungs, he was going to make sure that you didn’t overwork yourself.

Tell me you love me (Nick Scratch imagine)
Tumblr media
Request from @starryblueeyesandstarryblueskies : Could you do a hurt/comfort Nick scratch fic? Like maybe the reader gets hurt by one of the villains in caos?
+ Request from anon: Just an INTENSE “oh my god thank fuck you’re safe” type of scene with nick
---
“Okay, Y/N, that’s enough”
The girl turned her head to her friend. They were sitting on the stairs inside the Academy of Unseen Arts, talking about spells when the young woman had spotted Nicholas Scratch, talking to the weird Sisters.
“Enough ?” She repeated.
“Stop being distracted by Nick!”
“What ?” She straightened out. “What are you talking about, Brina ?”
“Are you kidding me ?” Her friend laughed. “Every time he walks in a room, your eyes go to him and your mind gets lost into this land of daydream you created to avoid telling him how you feel”
She puffed, averting her friend’s gaze before closing the book on her lap and getting up.
“Stop being so dramatic, Spellman. It’s not like that.”
“Oh yeah ?” She smiled. “Then why has he been staring at you with those love sick puppy eyes ever since he spotted us on the stairs ?”
Her eyes grew big and she took her friend by the hand, forcing her to walk.
“Spellman ! Y/L/N !” They hear Prudence called before they could disappear in the hallway.
Sabrina glanced at her friend, already annoyed, and turned back to the weird sisters and Nicholas.
“Hi, Prudence” She simply greeted her.
“And what is this book I see…” She pondered with a smirk. “Dark magic, huh ?”
“You do know it is forbidden to practice it” Dorcas reminded them.
“Who said anything about practicing” Y/N answered. “It’s called reading”
“Now if you excuse us, we have to go” Sabrina added.
Prudence looked them up and down before turned around, snapping her fingers at her sisters to tell them to follow her. And once again, before the two friends could go, someone stopped them. This time it was Nicholas. He grabbed Y/N by her wrist, forcing her to turn and face him.
“You’re not using any of those spells, are you ?” He asked.
“If I didn’t know better I’d say you’re worried about me, Scratch”
“I am”
“Well, don’t be.” She smiled at him. “You know I’m powerful. And besides, we have everything under control”
He looked between Sabrina and her, not entirely sure he believed them.
“If you need my help you know you can call me” He insisted.
“I know, Nick.”
“Please be careful” He called before she could get away.
“You know I always am” She sweetly smiled.
He pursed his lips, half satisfied by her answer and decided against his best judgment to let them go. Sabrina grabbed her friend by the arm, both of them making their way to the mortal realm. Half an hour later, they were sitting inside Dr.Cerberus’ coffee with Theo and Roz.
“When exactly did you noticed something was different about Harvey?” Y/N asked them.
“About two days ago. He started acting … weird” Theo answered.
“Weird how ?”
“Talking to a wall, having those spasms and drawing symbols”
“You have them ?” Y/N inquired. “The drawings”
“Yes!”
Roz got a piece of paper out of her bag. As soon as she put it on the table, the witches recognized it.
“We were right” Sabrina told her friend.
“What is it ?” Theo said.
“He’s possessed” Y/N explained. “It’s a sigil he’s drawing. It represents a lock in ancient Greek. Typically, when one’s possessed, they’ll instinctively try to protect their mind by making this”
“How … how do we help him ?” Roz continued, talking to Sabrina.
“I don’t know how to perform an exorcism guys” She admitted.
“I do” Y/N announced. “I’ll do it”
“You know it’s risky” Sabrina reminded her.
“I don’t see any other choices, Brina. Unless you want your friend to die, which will eventually happen”
She sighed, knowing the girl was right.
“How do we help you ?” Theo asked them.
“Staying away is the best option for you” Y/N told them.
“Why ?!”
“Once I’ll do the exorcism, the demon will be forced out of Harvey’s body. There’s a chance it might jump in one of yours to hide from me”
They nodded, understanding what was at stake.
“We’ll be a phone call away in case you need us”
“Don’t worry, it’s gonna be fine” Sabrina reassured them.
Once everything was settled, they made their way to the Spellman’s house. Sabrina had the idea to lure Harvey inside. The house would be empty that night so it was now or never. As the blonde witch wrote the message for her friend to come, Y/N started to prepare for the spell. Candles, cauldron with blood and ashes, a circle of salt and her book of Dark Magic were prepared for the ritual.
“As soon as he’s here, get him in the circle then close it with the salt” She explained to Sabrina.
“You sure about this ?” She asked one last time.
Her friend responded with a shrug. Before she could answer, her phone rang, distracting her. She sighed when she realized who was calling her and turned around for a bit of privacy.
“Nick” She answered.
“Hey! When are you coming back to the Academy” He inquired.
“Why ?”
“It’s almost midnight”
“So …?”
“Look, Y/N, I’m just making sure that you’re alright and not doing anything reckless”
“I told you I’d be careful, didn’t I ?”
“Yeah, well I’m aware of your definition of non-existent sense of self preservation”
“That’s offending”
“But true. Now when are you coming back ?”
“Later. I’ve got to go. Brina and I are kinda in the middle of something”
“Wait …”
She didn’t wait and hang up when she saw Harvey approaching the house.
“Ready ?”
“As I’ll ever be”
Y/N went to hide in the kitchen, waiting for Sabrina to give her a signal. She could hear them exchanged words and Sabrina kept talking to distract the possessed boy as she lured him in the living room. Everything was happening perfectly so far.
“Just sit here, Harvey” She told him. “Make yourself comfortable”
As he sat on the chair, she threw the salt she had in her fist, finishing the circle where he was now trapped.
“What is this ?” He asked, confused.
“Y/N!” She called.
The girl walked from behind him, putting him to sleep with a small incantation in latin. They exchanged one final look, ready to get to work.
“Once I’m inside, don’t come near me » She reminded Sabrina. « Do not touch me”
Her friend nodded. She took a deep breath and stepped inside the circle. Slowly, with all the patience she could conjure up, she started to prepare. Drawing signs on the floor with the blood mixed with the ashes, she started reciting a spell. Harvey started shaking, a small sign he was struggling. As she lit the large candle in front of her, she kneeled down, the last words of her spell pouring out of her mouth, sending her into a transe. Suddenly, she was gone. Her head thrown back, her eyes closed, she seemed in another dimension.
“Harvey!” She called inside her mind.
“The boy is not here” She heard a whisper behind her.
“Who are you, demon ?”
“You’re about to find out, witch”
And so her fight to free Harvey started. It was pitch black inside her mind and she could hear the demon laughing, waiting to attack. She tried to make a step but realized she could not move. Shaken, she look at her feet and saw a large pentagram, a witch trap.
“Shit” She murmured to herself.
She couldn’t reach Sabrina to tell her, she’d have to face him alone. Again, she heard him laughing. She turned around, trying to think of an escape but knew no spell would be efficient against a witch trap. Before she could realized what was happening, she felt what seemed like water on the floor. From outside, Sabrina knew something wasn’t right. Y/N couldn’t feel it in her mind but her body was shaking like crazy. Blood was rolling out of her nose and she almost seemed out of breath. Sabrina tried to call her but knew it was useless. She couldn’t help her, not from outside the circle and not by herself. Cursing, she knew who she had to call at their rescue.
“Nick, I need your help” She reached out to the boy through her mind.
“Where are you ?” She heard back seconds later inside her head.
“My house. Bring the sisters with you”
“Why ?”
“We used a spell and she’s not… I don’t think she’s alright”
“What spell ?” He asked.
“The exorcism”
“Who did it ?”
“…it’s Y/N. You have to hurry, Nick, please” She cried.
He didn’t answered back and she guessed he was rushing to get to the house. She turned back to her friend. Her eyes had turned wide. A large, empty white color staring back at nothing. It was like she had big electric jolts to her body. She could see Y/N trembling, the spasms so violent as she fought. Her body was in a tornado and Sabrina knew if she tried to even touch her it could have devastating effects.
“What the hell is going on” She heard behind her
When she turned around, the weird Sisters and Nick were standing there. The sisters stayed back, accessing the room, but Nick immediately rushed to Y/N once he saw her struggling.
“No!” Sabrina shouted.
He stopped right before crossing the line of salt encircling the young girl inside.
“What did you do, Sabrina ?!” He yelled back, his eyes glued to Y/N
“We had … we had to do an exorcism” She explained. “I didn’t know how but Y/N did. And once… once she started, her body just …”
“Why did you let her do it ?!” Nick cut her.
“Do you realize how dangerous this is ?” Prudence lectured.
“You have to help me” Sabrina said, ignoring their questions. “I can’t make her come back by myself”
Nicholas turned back to the girl, walking in front of her from a safe distance. He knew she couldn’t see him, but maybe she could hear him.
“Hey beautiful” He started to speak. “It’s me, it’s Nick. Can you hear me ?”
His heart broke when he saw her shiver more violently.
“I know you’re trapped, but I need your help Y/N”
Again, no reaction to tell him she was able to ear him.
“Try a memory, Nick” Prudence advised him.
He nodded.
“Do you… do you remember the first time we met ?” He knelt down in front of her. “You were on this rooftop, dancing by yourself. You were so beautiful. You looked like a mad woman, so I called your name but you didn’t hear me. I tried to come closer but I must’ve startled you, because you made me freeze on the spot with a flicker of your hand. I knew when you turned around that I was doomed to fall for you”
“Nick..” She whispered, almost as if speaking out loud was hurting her
“I’m here, Y/N, I’m right here love” He said back.
“I’m trapped with him”
“It’s alright, we’re here to help you get back”
“We need the demon’s name, Y/N” Prudence added, her sisters and her already in a circle.
The girl was looked straight ahead, distressed, almost conflicted by her choice.
“Once I tell you, you won’t have long” She told them.
“Why ?”
“He’ll do anything to keep us from casting him out”
“Makes sense” Agatha stated. “The power is in his name”
“Y/N” Nick called. “Which demon is with you ?”
“His name is …” She stopped herself, pursing her lips.
They could see her fighting a battle to open her mouth, to vocalize the syllable that could end her suffering.
“..B…Buka..vac” She murmured.
Prudence gasped, the simple name enough to horrify her and her sisters.
“What ?” Sabrina asked. “Who is it ?”
“He’s a demonic creature” Nicholas whispered, his eyes glued to Y/N. “He possessed people to torture them and drown them from inside”
Just as he said it, she started to hyperventilate. She opened her mouth to speak but only water came out.
“What’s happening ?” Sabrina shouted.
“Y/N, love, listen to me” Nick vehemently spoke, his eyes filling with tears. “You have to fight him back. Please, you have to…”
He couldn’t speak, his heart was breaking watching the girl he loved chocked on invisible water.
“C’mon Nick, get up” Prudence said. “Help us”
They formed a circle around her, locking their hands as they started chanting in an ancient language. Each of them in tune, they were giving strength to the young witch. Nick closed his eyes, keeping on reciting the words. He couldn’t watch her like this, it was too much. He could hear her struggle to keep the oxygen in her lungs, could guess the pounding of her heart and the fight in her head. In that moment he prayed Satan she’d keep breathing. There was a sense of urgency around them all that was more apparent than ever. They were close to losing their fight and all Nicholas could focus on was his love gasping for air. He let the tears freely roamed on his face, trying to shut the sound of her struggle.
And suddenly, it stopped. No more sound of heavy breathing or coughing, just a heavy silence. Fearful of what he would see, Nicholas slowly opened his eyes. He could swore his heart stopped beating right there when he saw her body laying on the ground. Without even thinking or realizing it, he crossed the circle made of salt and rushed to her side.
“No, no, no, no, no…” He kept whispering.
Her body felt cold, too cold to be alive. She felt like a ghost in his arms. He placed a hand of her chest, praying whatever entities could hear him to make him feel a heartbeat. He waited, but nothing happened.
“Move aside, Nick!” Prudence forcefully told him, pushing him away.
She started to pound on the young witch’s chest with all the power she could muster. Her sisters behind her were silently helping with a spell.
“C’mon, Y/N, breath” She shouted. “Breath!”
With a powerful fist she banged on her heart. The reaction was instantaneous and the girl woke up, taking a tremendous gulp of air as she regain consciousness. In doing so, and just as she arose, so did Harvey who had been asleep during the whole process of exorcism. Sabrina ran to him, wanting to make sure he was alright.
As of Nicholas, he didn’t waste a second before taking the girl in his arms, nodding at Prudence as a silence sign to thank her.
“Oh my god, thank fuck you’re safe” He whispered, crying.
Weakly, Y/N reached for him and hugged him as hard as she could.
“Thank you” She said, her head buried in his neck.
“Never, ever, do that again” He answered, taking her head between his hands. “I thought you were dead, Y/N/N”
A tear escaped her eye as she clasped her hands around his wrists, a simple way to ground herself to him.
“For a moment there I thought so to” She admitted.
Slowly, he helped her to sit.
“Harvey, are you alright ?” She asked, turning her head to the teenager.
“Yes, yes I am” He reassured her.
She closed her eyes, sighing in relief as she put her head on Nicholas’s shoulder.
“C’mon, you have to rest” Nick said. “I’ll take you back to the Academy”
She nodded.
“Sabrina, stay with Harvey to make sure he’s alright” She told her friend.
“You sure ?”
“Yes, I’ll be alright”
“I don’t want to leave you alone, not after all this” Her best friend confessed.
“She won’t be alone” Nick answered her. “There’s no way I’m letting her out of my sight”
Sabrina smiled as she watched the young boy bending to take the girl he loved in his arms. Hands clasped with Harvey’s, she watched the Sisters follow Nick and Y/N on their way back to the Academy. Through the small journey, Y/N slept. Safe in Nick’s arms, she knew she could rest peacefully. She woke up, several hours later, disoriented, in her bedroom at the Academy.
“We’re home” She heard a voice comfort her in the dark.
When she turned her head, she saw him. Sitting on her bed, his back to the wall, his eyes glued to her.
“You know it’s creepy to watch someone sleep, do you ?” She joked.
“I needed to make sure you were still breathing” He seriously stated.
She sighed, getting up to match his position. Slowly, she put her head on his shoulder and entwined their hand.
“I’m alright, Nick”
“I know” He said, closing his eyes. “But I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget the sight of you so pale and… and almost …”
“Hey, hey! Nick look at me”
She moved, kneeling in front him.
“I’m here, I’m alive”
She took one of his hand, putting in on her chest.
“Do you feel that ? …”
With a little force, he hugged her as hard as he could. His head on her chest, his ear on top of her heart, he listened closely. She let him have a moment, knowing it must have been rough for him. They stayed like that, in each other’s arms, her hand playing with his hair, for what felt like only two minutes.
“I love you, Y/N” He whispered, admitting his feelings.
“I figured” She joked.
He playfully slapped her thigh, making her laugh.
“Aren’t you going to say it back ?” He asked.
“I guess so”
“You … I’m sorry, « you guess so » ?” He straightened up, pretending to be hurt.
“Is that ego of yours bruised, Scratch ?”
“Very much so”
She laughed before looking at him dead in the eyes.
“Then I should probably tell you a secret”
“Is it a good secret ?” He asked.
“I’ll let you decide on that one”
“Alright, I’m listening”
With a wicked smile she leaned into him, slowly putting her lips on his. It was the sweetness of passion, a million loving thoughts condensed into a short moment, a statement from both of them admitting what they refused to say out loud before.
“I love you too, Nick” she whispered in his ear.
“Best secret ever” he answered, smiling, making her laugh.

Childhood Sweethearts
Summary: You and Finn had been together for a while now and it was all going great. The only problem was, all of the brothers didn’t know yet
Tumblr media
A/N: Requested by a lovely anon: hey can i request a Finnxreader where Finn got her pregnant and her brothers come in the Garrison with guns and all and are like "We dont care who you. That you're a shelby, but you got her pregnant and you're gonna marry her" and than Finn has to explain to his bros that he is kinda dating her for a year and some fluff please??? I got so many requests for my baby Finn and I’m ignoring how they changed him in season 5. Hope you like it!
Words: 2605
***
When you’d first met Finn, he’d been boxing. You had only been fourteen at the time and he was only thirteen, but he was a Shelby, so there were expectations. “Call yourself a Shelby?” the owner had kept on shouting out at him. And you could see Finn was really trying, but he just wasn’t that type of Shelby.
Your brothers were at the gym as well, which is why you were there. Women weren’t allowed, no exceptions. Well, except little sisters. You were let in when you came to pick them up and the youngest Shelby sister couldn’t be kept away, but apart from that, no women allowed.
And then it’d happened. Arthur went feral, everyone went crazy and Finn reacted like no one else could. And you watched him, calmly, but with interest. Afterwards, you handed him a towel. He suddenly looked young, not at all like he had seemed while fighting, and he’d said: “No women allowed.” You had smirked and replied, “Then go.” *** And so the two of you had become friends. First it had just been talking on the streets about brothers and life in general. Because if there was one thing the two of you had in common, it was the burden of having too many older brothers. While the Shelby’s had big plans with young Finn, yours seemed to want to keep you ‘sweet and innocent’ for as long as possible. Neither fit the pair of you really.
“What would you do?” Finn asked you one day, “You know, if you could do anything.” “Hmm…” you thought out loud, while trying to balance on some forgotten piece of scrap, “I could open a salon, or make ice-cream all day, or I could fly a hot-air balloon to Paris!” You were always the one making up stories and Finn would just sit there and listen. He was definitely the quiet one. In his world of chaos and violence, he could do with a bit of imagining. “I could buy a camel!” you laughed out loud, “Go to Egypt dressed as a man and raid one of the pyramids. I’d become the richest woman alive and no one would ever even know that it was all stolen, including my fake name.”
Finn grinned, “You’d probably get away with it too…” “Or, I could steal some expensive jewels and seduce the man guarding them,” you spun around a lantern post feigning seducing it, “I’d kiss him when he’d catch me and tell him I’ll split the profit with him. I’d say to meet me in Paris at midnight, but never show up. Then, years later, after I’ve come back from Mexico…” “Mexico?” Finn called out, enjoying this story way too much. “Mexico, obviously, where I’ve been hiding?” you replied with a face like it was obvious, “After Mexico, I’d go back to find this man and tell him to follow me. He would, of course, and I’d tell him to meet me in London. Then, and this is the best bit, I go back to Paris to get the jewels and blame it on him!” Finn grabbed your hand and spun you around, both laughing, “Y/N? Ever thought of becoming a Peaky Blinder?” “That!” you joked, “If I could do anything, I’d take over the Peaky Blinders and…” “Move to Mexico,” he finished. “Move to Mexico,” you said softly, because the two of you were suddenly no longer dancing. Standing closely, noses almost touching, you were, for the first time, lost for words. “Ask me,” Finn practically whispered. You raised your eyebrows slightly in question. “Ask me, Y/N,” he repeated, “What I would do if I could do anything.”
You indulged, “What would you do, Finn?” “I’d marry you.” “But we’re only fourteen,” you blushed a little. He was completely serious however. The two of you were always laughing and playing, but his eyes were no longer sparkling with childhood joy. Something else had settled in there, “Then I’ll wait, for now.” After that one evening, the two of you became inseparable. ***
Sneaking out at night was easy, especially after the two of you just watched how Ada did it. As you got older, your games of truth or dare became more and more dangerous. Late at night, you met in dangerous places and together, you grew up at midnight. Making love under the bridge, kissing quickly in the Garrison when no saw and holding hands under the table, it was all still a game to you. But the love, that was real, and it only kept on growing. How no one found out about it was a miracle and a tragedy at the same time. You’d grown up with five older brothers and a part of you now wondered if they even acknowledged your existence. Surely, you two were not that subtle? And besides, you had the horrible habit of talking too much and had often divulged a little, but they never picked up on it. Guess they were too busy with their own lives, which was just as well, because loving a Shelby was not a preferable situation. But sneaking off to secret rendezvous was easy, concealing love was also manageable, but hiding a belly with a baby inside of it? That was going to be hard. “They are literally going to kill me, Finn,” you sobbed. Why did you even sob? You never cried before. “Don’t worry,” he put his arms around you and spoke soft and lovingly, “They’ll kill me, not you.”
“That is not fucking helpful!” “I know,” he looked down, “Sorry…” The two of you were sitting in a closed Garrison. Luckily, the pub was never truly closed for a Shelby. Here you could find some peace at least and no one there to disturb you. “A baby though, Y/N,” you could see the sparkle in his eyes, “Our little baby!” You sighed deeply, “I don’t think you understand how serious this is.” “I don’t think you understand how wonderful this is!” “Finn…” “No,” he interrupted you, which he never ever did, “We made that.We did. Like, I loved you so much and you put up with me for so long and then this happened. Can you imagine? That’s amazing, isn’t it?” You couldn’t help but smile at his awkwardness and excitement, “Someone did tell you where babies come from, right?” He smiled broadly and kissed you suddenly. “Finn?” you asked, a little unsure, “I think my mum knows I’m pregnant.” “How would she know?” “She knows these things,” you shrugged, “She had seven kids.” Finn frowned, “What do we do?” “Well, if she knows, we’ll find out soon enough.” You hadn’t even finished your sentence properly, when a loud noise came from the door of the Garrison and five big men walked in. They didn’t look pleased. “On your feet, boy!” one of them bellowed. Finn had no idea what to do, so he decided it would be best to get up.
“This him?” one of your brothers now turned to you.
You nodded solemnly, “This is indeed Finn Shelby.” Another asked, “This the one that knocked you up?”
“That’s a charming way of putting it…” you protested. “Well, how do you want us to put it?” “You could ask me if I’m alright?” you suggested, “Or: is this the boy of your dreams? Or: is this the man who will take you to Mexico? Or…” “Alright, we get the fucking idea, Y/N,” your eldest brother interrupted you, “No need to get poetic about it.” From the corner of your eye, you could see Finn had sat back down again. While you and your brothers continued arguing, he started downing whiskey. Did you blame him? Not really, what else was there for him to do but wait really.
And suddenly one of your brothers turned away from you and pointed at Finn, “Right, now I know you’re a Shelby and we know how you do things!” “Do things?” Finn genuinely didn’t understand. “You’ll not be taken our sister to some fucking doctor.” “Finn wouldn’t,” you quickly said, “He’s not like that.” Finn still didn’t understand though. “You don’t even know him,” your brother said, “Just because he fucked you…” “Oi!” Finn called out suddenly, lifting one hand to his cap. But your brothers were big and annoyed, so they picked Finn up like it was nothing and simply placed him outside the pub. If you weren’t pregnant and miserable, you could’ve died of laughter.
“Okay, listen…” you started, but they didn’t let you finish. Through the door they started shouting at Finn about taking responsibility and pretty soon you decided it was no use trying to get them to listen. So you rolled your eyes, sat back and waited for the storm to be over. And then there were more voices coming from outside the pub and you sat up to try and get a look at them. An angry voice seemed to be reprimanding Finn and a calm, low voice kept on interrupting the other. Without warning, the three oldest Shelby brothers barged in. Now, this was all you needed: more brothers in the room. There were eight now, all yelling, and slowly, you could see Finn moving back in through the door. You two exchanged glances, admitting defeat and decided to just wait.
“I don’t give a fuck who you people are…” one of your brothers was now actually screaming. “Let’s not play games, eh?” Tommy replied calmly, “You know exactly who we are.” “He will do the fucking right thing!” “And he will!” “That little rat may have thought he could just have his way with her and not carry the consequences...” “WHO THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU CALLING A RAT…” Finn crept down next to you and leaned over to whisper in your ear, “Should we tell them?” “How?” you mouthed back, “They’re kind of busy right now, wouldn’t you think?” “Let’s wait,” Finn suggested. So, the two of you got back to watching eight grown men bicker like small children.
“This was never her idea!” “Wasn’t Finn’s either, he doesn’t even know how to spell his own name, isn’t that right, Arthur!” “She’s nineteen! She’s just a child!” “She might be your sister, but she’s a grown woman.” “Okay, why the fuck are we talking about Y/N? Heis responsible and he is going to marry her.” “I agree,” Tommy suddenly said. So, Finn decided this was the best time to try again, “Actually, if you’d all listen for a second…” “I think you’ve done enough, mate,” one of your loudest brothers interrupted quickly. “But, me and Y/N…” Then Arthur was the one to push his little brother back in his seat, “Shut up Finn and let us handle this. Full of frustration, the youngest Shelby sat back down, only to stand back up again. He picked up another bottle of whiskey and started pacing the room a little. “Stay off the whiskey, Finn!” one of his brothers scolded, “Here, eat this,” and he handed him an apple. With eyes wide, he stared at the sudden piece of fruit in his hand and exclaimed, “I’m not a fucking child anymore, John.” But his brother just winked and said, “Apparently,” and went back to arguing. So Finn walked and bit his nails and paced and pondered and decided there was nothing left to do, but eat the apple and jump in the Cut.And you couldn’t help yourself. A small giggle escaped you mouth and soon after you could no longer contain yourself and burst out laughing. “What’s the matter with you?” Finn hissed. “Don’t know…” you hiccupped, “but by the time they’ve finished I’ve already given birth probably!” And out of nowhere, all the brothers fell silent. Tommy, as always, took the word, “Right, this is how we’ve decided to do it…” “You’vedecided?” you repeated angrily. “Shut up, Y/N, you’re in enough trouble as it is,” one of your brothers bit.
But the great Thomas Shelby held up a hand and silenced the room with a gesture, “We’ve decided that the two of you are getting married. Now, you might hardly now each other, but the damage is done, eh?” “Actually…” “Finn, shut up, I’m still talking. Now, don’t worry Y/N, Finn will take good care of you. And Finn, you do the deed, you pay the consequences. The marriage is in a fortnight. Congratulations.” The room went quiet again and all eyes were on the two of you. You could now actually taste blood and realised you’d been biting your lip to keep from laughing a little too hard. Finn looked like he was either going to explode or just disappear. Almost inaudible, he muttered, “In a fortnight…” “Yes,” his brother confirmed, “Gives you a chance to get to know your bride.” “I’VE KNOWN HER FOR FOUR FUCKING YEARS, TOM”
So he did explode. “EVER SINCE SHE WAS FOURTEEN AND I WAS THIRTEEN, WE’VE BEEN TOGETHER.” “Finn, babe,” you put a hand on his arm, “Calm down.” He turned to you, his eyes still hilariously wide, “Why the fuck do they never listen? Pinch me or something… can you even see me? Am I real? Am I a ghost?” So you did as any woman would and slapped him in the face, “Stop the dramatics. You’re here.” “Ask her,” one of his brothers urged him, “Ask her properly.” Finn sighed deeply and ran a hand through his hair, “I did ask her ABOUT FOUR YEARS AGO.” You nodded wisely, “He did.” “Well, what did she say?”
“That we were too young?” ‘Too fucking right!” one of your brothers shouted out. Within seconds, eight men were once again yelling without listening to each other, and the Garrison became chaos for a second time.
“Okay, wait!” you held up both hands and much to your surprise, everyone stopped talking. Guess there really was power in being pregnant, “This is good news, right? We both want to get married! Yay?” And then they all started again! New subjects for arguments were found in the fact that you’d been sneaking out, that they let their brother be with you, where the wedding would be and who with, and there seemed to be no end to it. So, Finn put the apple in his pocket and with a sudden certainty to it, grabbed you by the hand and marched you out the door of the Garrison. There, in the filthy streets of Small Heath, he kissed you long and deep. “How about it then?” he asked. You smiled back at this wonderful boy and said, “No, let me do it. You already got to do it when we were kids.” “Okay,” he agreed at once. “Finn, if you could do anything, what would you do?” “I’d marry you in a fortnight!” he almost shouted out. And you deeply into his eyes, wondering how you’d even managed to find such a soft, sweet and still strong man, and finally said, “Will you marry me?” “Yes,” he said almost before you could finish the question. After another long, long kiss he got this sudden twinkle in his eyes and suggested, “Let’s go home.” “Home?” you laughed.   “Yeah,” he pointed to the Garrison, “They’re all busy in there, right? The house is empty…” You looked down at your bulging stomach and joked, “Damage’s already done.”
Hand in hand you walked through the streets, feeling like the king and queen of Birmingham.
“Mexico then?” a small smile was tugging at his mouth now too. You nodded, feeling more in love than ever, “Mexico.”

Thank you. I can take it from here.

Inspired by my 100+ lovely followers, @love-me-a-good-prompt’s “THANK YOU IDEAS” prompt list, and a suggestion from the lovely @cas-kingdom
Summary: From the Little Lady Blinder Universe. Clara Shelby wants to bake her brother a special treat for his birthday but needs a bit of assistance in gathering ingredients.
Featuring: Tommy Shelby, John Shelby, Clara Shelby, and Nipper (Shelby cousin)
-----
Clara stared at the space between the topmost cupboard and the ceiling, to the spot where Polly set the sugar, far out of her and Finn’s reach, rationing it now that she saw how much the pair were shoveling into their afternoon tea.
Clara had already collected the other ingredients, mixed the dry things together, waiting on the sugar in the hopes that someone taller would pass through, but she could wait no longer.
She didn’t need much, knew that her brother wasn’t particularly fond of sweet things anyway, but the biscuit she chose still called for a small measure of the stuff, so Clara pulled over a chair and climbed onto the counter with a clean wooden spoon, intending to push the small container close enough to the edge for her outstretched fingers to reach.
Clara yelped and the spoon clattered to the floor as a pair of hands on her waist tugged her from the countertop.
Tommy settled her on his hip, an act he nearly regretted when she latched her flour-covered hands around him.
“You’re not meant to be home yet,” Clara said.
“And you’re not meant to be up on the counters.” Tommy shifted her to glance at the mess on the table but Clara quickly pushed his face back to her’s with a flour-covered hand.
“Arthur said you had a meeting.”
“I did,” he answered, the two words coming out slow, with a hint of suspicion. “What are you up to?”
“Nothing.”
Clara tried to pull out of his arms but Tommy held her there, turning them both towards the mess again.
“It doesn’t look like nothing.”
“Nothing that concerns you, then,” Clara corrected. “Let me down, Tommy.”
“Let you down so you can climb back up on the counters?”
“Wouldn’t need to if Aunt Polly stopped putting the sugar all the way up there,” Clara answered, pointing towards the canister and reaching towards it from Tommy’s arms.
Tommy chuckled. The sugar had spent a portion of his childhood on that shelf as well thanks to John.
“What do you need the sugar for?”
“Because I need it,” Clara answered, all pouting lips and big shining eyes. “Please, Tommy?”
“Tell me what you need it for,” Tommy said again.
Clara groaned, going a bit limp in his arms. “But it’s none of your business,” she answered.
“None of my business? Not much under this roof that falls under that category.”
Clara knew all about the different types of business to be found in the Shelby household. There was the betting business and family business and women’s business and funny business. In the months since the boys returned home, Clara had learned that her brother seemed to think he was entitled to have a hand in all of it, though he often declined participating in the funny business, more often just accusing her and Finn of it.
“Well, this does,” she answered. “It’s Clara business.”
“Clara business, eh?” he said. “That sounds like something that’ll only end in trouble.”
“No, it won’t. I promise, Tommy.”
“You promise?”
Clara nodded and Tommy let her down, reaching up to grab the sugar from the top shelf and placing it in her hands. “I’m going to hold you to that.”
Clara smiled before skipping away from him to plop the container down on the table. She began scanning through the recipe to find her spot and Tommy lingered, flicking open his cigarette case as he watched her.
“You know you’ve got to clean all this up before Aunt Polly comes back or she’ll be after us both,” he said, waving the cigarette around at the mess.
“I will,” she answered.
Tommy stepped over to her, glancing into the mixing bowl. “An—”
Clara pushed her brother towards the shop doors. “Thank you. I can take it from here.”
Tommy opened his mouth once she had him over the threshold, about to step back into the room, but Clara tugged on the string holding the curtain back and the red velvet fell between them.
“I said I can take it from here, Thomas!”
Tommy didn’t really like biscuits but Clara noticed that he always lifted a savory biscuit from her Hinkley’s bag whenever he found one. It was a special thing Mr. Hinkley made from time to time, the rosemary biscuits, and the baker had given Clara a basic recipe after she promised not to open a competing bake shop down on Watery Lane.
Clara knew her brother didn’t really like birthdays either, not his at least, and there had been a consensus among the family, decided over a month prior, that they’d not be doing anything special for him. There would be no cake, no presents, no acknowledgment whatsoever, but Clara had kept quiet on the subject, not agreeing to a thing the others said but not voicing her own opinion either. The way she saw it, it was none of their business if she chose to make biscuits on a random Tuesday afternoon, even if that Tuesday was the same day Tommy happened to have been born.
While the biscuits were cooling, the smell of fresh rosemary spreading throughout the first floor of the house, Clara stuck her head through the curtains to the shop to see they were full up with business for the afternoon.
She whispered to her cousin Nipper who was sat at the table closest to the door. It was a loose description, calling Nipper and Henry cousins, but they were something close to that, some sort of relation on the Shelby side made closer to her and Finn because they were the only other set of twins in the family.
“That smells good,” he said as he came to stand beside her, his hand moving to push the curtain aside. “What’s Aunt Pol—“
Clara pulled the curtains tight around her head. “Can you send Tommy back?”
“Why don’t you get him yourself?”
“Because I promised I won’t cause any trouble.”
Nipper laughed at that. “Guess you’re out—”
Clara disappeared behind the curtain before he could finish, coming back with a warm biscuit. “I’ll give you one if you send him back. And if you don’t tell John.”
Nipper was just teasing his little cousin, would’ve given in to her without the biscuit offering but he’d not say no to the bribe either. He took it from her outstretched hand before popping it in his mouth and heading across the room to where Tommy and John were talking.
“Clara’s asking for you,” Nipper said, still chewing the bit of biscuit in his mouth.
“Me?” John said.
Nipper shook his head. “No, she wants Tommy.”
Tommy pushed the ledger back into John’s hands. “Keep on the books, John. I’ll be right back.”
John hummed. “What are you chewing on, Nip?”
“Nothing,” Nipper answered, clearing his mouth with a final swallow and a swipe of his sleeve across his lips, both pointless maneuvers as John’s nose had already picked up on the rosemary wafting into the shop.
“Doesn’t smell like nothing,” John said. “It smells like...”
“Clara business, eh?” Tommy said as he came through from the shop, the doors cutting off John’s words as Tommy closed them and turned to his sister, specks of flour across every bit of her.
“It can be Clara and Tommy business now, but we have to keep it a secret.”
“Why’s that?” Tommy asked.
“I don’t know,” she answered. “It’s you that doesn’t like celebrating birthdays.”
Birthdays. Tommy released a light scoff, almost a laugh. He’d forgotten, hadn’t thought about his own birthday since before France, not since he’d spent the miserable day sat at Greta’s bedside. Tommy shook his head as Clara pulled the plate of biscuits out from behind her back.
“They’re not sweet ones,” she said, setting the plate on the table. “I know you don’t like them sweet and I know everyone said we aren’t supposed to talk about your birthday but I just thought if I didn’t make a very big deal and didn’t tell anyone else then maybe you wouldn’t be mad and...”
“I’m not mad,” Tommy said as he took a cookie from the tray, taking a small bite. He was surprised, and a bit touched, but certainly not mad.
Clara smiled, relieved her brother wasn’t upset.
“But we do have a problem, you and me,” Tommy said, swallowing and wiping his hands off as he came down to her height, poking his sister in the shoulder. “You promised me there’d be no trouble at the end of this bit of Clara business but now I’ve got a brother out there in the shop sniffing out these biscuits like a rabid dog,” Tommy said, his eyes going wide. “You know how John is about sweets...almost as bad as you.”
Clara giggled. “I told Nipper not to tell him.”
“Yeah, well, you’ve started quite the commotion out there in the shop, nearly a riot. I think we may have to share these secret biscuits, eh? Just tell the boys they’re a special Clara treat and we’ll keep the birthday bit between you and me?”
Clara nodded and Tommy made to stand up. Clara wrapped her arms around his neck before he could make any progress, her whisper so quiet that Tommy could barely hear it, his understanding of the words more from context than the hushed murmur as Clara wished her brother a happy birthday and placed a kiss on his cheek.

The London Shadow Market - Centurions on a mission (Fan Fic)
This is a one-shot Tynush fan fic.
London Shadow Market. Centurions Tiberius Blackthorn and Anush Joshi are on mission for the Scholomance, tied to the First Heir, and Ty gets a bit overprotective.
It's a bit angsty and though there is mention of sex, there is no sex scene/smut.
Big thanks to @amchara who beta-read the fic (and notably helped with her thorough knowledge of London) and who also sparked the idea, since we discussed how there could never be enough of overprotective Blackthorns fic.
****
It was long past midnight and the London Shadow Market’s lights were fading one after the other. Fenwick was wrapping up for the night, muttering about what an awful evening it had been. Only a dozen customers buying baubles. Overpriced, but still. Long gone were the days where he could earn in an evening what now took him a month to scrounge. The new Inquisitor, Diego Rosales, was knowledgeable, relentless, and incorruptible. It didn’t help that the new Unseelie King also frowned on his barely-to-not-legal-at-all side businesses. The most profitable ones, as it happened. He still had the favour of the Seelie Queen, but even she, in her eagerness to make peace with King Kieran, was not as frequent a client as she used to be.
So, when he heard the bell ring announcing that a customer had just crossed the threshold of his magically enhanced oversized tent, Fenwick immediately perked up. His cheerful mood was of short duration.
Two dark-haired figures had stepped into his dimly lit tent, one at least a head taller than the other, but both with a graceful warrior stance that betrayed what they were despite the obscurity.
Shadowhunters. And not any kind. The worst kind if you asked him. Those who knew much more about the Fair Folk than the fey had ever cared to reveal. They even kept secrets from the other Nephilim. That’s how world-altering their knowledge was. Centurions. And they were in their black uniforms, their silvery pins gleaming in the light of the candles scattered around the tent, not even bothering to conceal their identity.
Fenwick was torn between bolting out – on the off chance that he managed to outrun them – to lay low in one of his numerous hideouts (for a few decades at least) and standing his ground, trying to weasel his way out of this uncomfortable situation. What made up his decision was the weariness that gripped him at the mere idea of running. The centuries he had strolled around the Earth made him feel like an overstretched rubber band.
“Well met, Sons of the Angel!” He said, forcing a cheerful tone.
“Well, met,” the smaller, wheatish-skinned one answered. He had a warm, lyrical voice. As he took a few steps forward inside the tent, Fenwick tried very hard not to flinch. Up close, he had a very handsome face, high cheekbones framing his narrow and delicate nose. Strong thick eyebrows made a perfect arc over his big almond-shaped brown eyes. His bright yet calm demeanour compelled you to trust him. But Fenwick knew better.
The taller one didn’t greet him. He was already strolling lazily around the tent, scanning the shelves. He was standing with his back to Fenwick, so that all that Fenwick could see of him was black hair and a dark uniform, a circle of thorns etched across the back of his jacket.
“What brings you to my humble shop?”
The question had been directed at the politest of the two, but he didn’t seem to hear, entirely focused on stealing covert glances at his fellow Centurion. His expression was wistful, almost reverent.
Fenwick considered it. He knew how lonely they got sometimes, hidden between harsh grounds and cold stones in the Carpathian Mountains. Some were known to suffer depression, if not mental illness. He used to interact frequently with them, in the past, until the Scholomance was closed in 1872, with the signing of the First Accords. He sold them information, and sometimes a good time.
“You are in luck, Centurions. I have several pretty mermaids who have just joined Fenwick’s lair. At least two of them have a kink for strong Nephilim such as yourselves.” After all, King Kieran had started a trend… “We also have the usual nixies, pixies, goblins, hobgoblins, brownies, and even a djinn for those who have more… particular tastes. Everything happens on Seelie territory and is strictly legal of course. I have the paperwork.”
The light brown skinned Centurion looked like he was trying very hard not to burst out laughing. He coughed a little to hide it before swiftly saying, “Nothing of the sort.”
“We heard you were selling. We are buying.” The taller one spoke for the first time. He had a deep voice, with a rich timber to it. As he glanced over his shoulder, the candles’ light played along his face, revealing his striking features. Fenwick stifled a gasp. His merchant’s mind was already calculating what he could earn with such a possession. Faerie lords – even princes – would pay handsomely – a fortune – to enjoy the boy’s company.
“What is it that you care to acquire from old Fenwick?” he said in a honey voice. “Certainly not a love potion. Someone who looks like you must never be in need of it.” The Centurion’s expression remained impassive, yet Fenwick thought he saw a shadow flicker across his eyes. “Your pretty face is so much like a faerie’s. I almost took you for one of our kind.”
The other Centurion cleared his throat loudly, and when he had caught Fenwick’s attention, shot him a glare, his deep brown eyes cold as ice. A warning. Fenwick knew in that instant that if he ever wanted to get his hands on the pretty Nephilim, he would have to go through his companion first.
“What we want…” he said in a clipped tone, “cannot be touched, tasted, or inhaled.”
“Information, then,” Fenwick replied automatically upon hearing the code. A chill went up his spine. Did they know? Only one way to find out. “And what type of information do you seek?”
“You know exactly which one. Please do not waste any more precious minutes of our mortal lives. Name your price.”
Fenwick told him. The Centurion approached Fenwick’s counter and, without a word, retrieved a pouch from inside his jacket - Fenwick recognized it as fey craftsmanship of the finest sort and, though it did not bear the Unseelie Court’s sigil, had most certainly come from it - and started counting bills. His curiosity got the better of him.
“What do you want with the First Heir?” He blurted. “I didn’t know it was the Scholomance’s job to look for him. Other Nephilim – if not as skilled – have already been assigned to the task.”
“We have the money. Our business with him is our own,” he replied dismissively.
Fenwick glanced at the other tall Centurion, who had remained silent during the exchange. He had retrieved a crystal orb from one of the shelves and was turning it over in his long pale fingers.
“Careful with that! It’s fragile! And expensive. If you break it, you pay it.”
“Twenty-one,” he replied.
“Pray tell?”
“The number of laws you have broken with the content of these shelves. I am not talking about the items you keep in your back store.”
“Tiberius,” his companion warned, before forcing a smile to Fenwick’s benefit. “Here’s the money. Give us the information and we’ll be on our way.”
Fenwick’s gaze zeroed on the bills spread over his counter. He did the usual checks, doing as best as he could to hide his excitement.
“Okay,” he drawled, when they had come out to be the real deal. He gave them the First Heir’s address. The Centurion’s lips twitched but his face remained otherwise blank. He acknowledged with a stiff nod and whirled around.
“I can give you one more information. Free of charge.”
The Centurion paused and glanced over his shoulder, an eyebrow raised in question.
“The First Heir. He has power beyond your wildest imagination. Even mighty warriors such as yourselves will have a hard time capturing him. But he has a family that he loves dearly and would be willing to die for. If you take his little sister hostage, you can obtain whatever you want from him.”
Fenwick startled at the sound of glass shattering. He glanced over to find that the tall, silent, Nephilim – Tiberius, his companion had called him – had closed his long fingers on the orb, with apparently enough pressure and force that it had broken into multiple shards. He was now watching with remote interest as blood escaped from his clenched fist and started running like crimson strings over his knuckles and wrist. He didn’t look the least bit concerned by the sight.
“Hey! You will pay for this!” Fenwick said, taking consolation in the fact that, as expensive as the item was, they probably had the money.
“That’s funny,” Tiberius said in a tone that suggested it wasn’t at all. “I was about to say the exact same thing.”
He hadn’t seen him coming, but from one moment to the next, the Nephilim was in Fenwick’s face, a dagger pressed against the fey’s throat.
Fenwick thought he looked more animal than human as he cocked his head, his gray eyes feral. “Earlier you said that I look like a fey. Well, there is at least one trait that I share with the Fair Folk. I. Don’t. Lie. So, trust me when I tell you this. If you so much as harm a hair on that little girl’s head, my pretty face will be the last thing you’ll ever see. The same goes for any other member of her family. I will hunt you down, scour each one of your rabbit holes and I don’t care if it takes every single second I have left of my mortal life.”
“Tiberius,” the other Centurion crooned. “Tiberius. We are done here. Let’s go home.” Fenwick realized with a jolt of surprise that he had moved soundlessly to rest his hand on Tiberius’ shoulder and was rubbing it, tracing small circles around the joint. It was such an intimate gesture that Fenwick wondered if he had misread earlier when he had thought to witness unrequited love.
Tiberius blinked a few times, then started whispering urgently under his breath. Fenwick couldn’t make sense of what he was saying. It sounded like random words. The Centurion finally narrowed his gaze at Fenwick and mouthed “I don’t lie” one last time before he whirled and both Nephilim disappeared in a blur of dark fabric, out of the tent and into the night, as swiftly as they had come. Fenwick, frozen in terror, hoped with all his immortal’s heart that all of it had only been a bad dream.
***
Anush exhaled the cold and moist London air, his breath coming in frosty white puffs, as he drew an Iratze on the back of Ty’s hand. It had become so frequent lately that he sometimes caught himself wishing Centurions were allowed to be parabatai so that his runes were more effective, but discarded the idea as soon as it crossed his mind. He would not have been allowed to feel the way he did about Ty. And parabatai definitely did not do the things they did.
“I can’t believe he lived during the time of Berlioz. Do you think he met him? If so, I would have a thousand more questions to ask him.”
Ty didn’t answer. He was lost in thought, stroking his heron-shaped pendant with his free hand, his face pale as the moon tilted upwards toward the night sky as if he was counting the stars.
“Hey,’ Anush said softly. “It was the wrong address. So that’s one more snitch to strike off our list.”
“He had the right country, though. That’s a first. They’re closing in.”
“That’s okay, Ty. We will be one step ahead, as always.”
Anush had probably not been convincing enough, as Ty suddenly tensed, his breathing coming in short, shallow gasps, and his hand, still resting in Anush’s palm, started shaking. Anush closed his fingers around Ty’s and murmured soothing words that he knew his fellow Centurion liked, as he gently rubbed his shoulder with his free hand. “Whisper, glass, twin, secret, stars, cloud, castle, crystal, Christopher…”
Ty’s shoulders relaxed slightly. He closed his eyes and took a deep shuddering breath.
“Hey,” Anush whispered. “It’s going to be fine. We will do double shifts. Starting tomorrow. Who needs sleep anyway?”
Ty sighed, relief plain on his marble face. His eyelashes fanned out over his sharp cheekbones and Anush resisted the urge to kiss them. “Thank you. For sticking with me through all this. I know it’s not easy.”
“I didn’t have better plans anyway,” Anush shrugged it off.
Ty opened his eyes and turned his sharp gaze on Anush, still not looking him in the eye but somewhere around his chin. Close enough.
“You know what I mean.”
He knew exactly what Ty meant. The reasons for Ty’s obsession with the First Heir was a subject they never broached. But it was there, like a third presence in their relationship. If you could call what they had a relationship. It was, for Anush at least. He would go to hell and back for Ty, and so would Ty for him. But that didn’t mean he loved him. That’s just how loyal and selfless Ty was.
Anush would always remember the day Ty and him had volunteered to handle the top secret missions tied to the First Heir. Ty had adamantly refused Anush’s involvement, but of course, it was not entirely up to him. Anush was very stubborn. They had both sat in Jia Penhallow’s office and she had asked Ty to leave them alone afterwards. She had looked into Anush’s eyes and had spoken to him earnestly. “These are very dangerous missions, Anush. The most dangerous missions we currently have at the Scholomance. You are a brilliant Centurion, but are you sure you want to do this? I know Tiberius has… personal reasons for volunteering, but what about you?” He had swallowed hard. “Anywhere Tiberius goes, I go.” Her dark eyes had softened. “Anush. Have you really thought this through? I know how much you care about Tiberius but… has he told you why he has chosen to do this?” “I am not Tiberius-smart, but I am not stupid,” he had replied. “The First Heir. He’s in love with him.” The deep sadness and understanding in her eyes had almost made him cry and he had dug his nails into his palms, his jaw working as he withheld tears. “It doesn’t matter,’ he had said through clenched teeth. “Whatever happens, I will be there for him. In any capacity I can.” And it was plain from her expression that she knew he was not only talking about their missions for the Scholomance.
As he now looked into Tiberius’ gray eyes, at his beautiful features that were nothing compared to his gentle and unique heart, Anush felt a deep rush of love mixed with longing. Ty would never be his. He already belonged to someone else. But Anush would give Tiberius any part of him that he wanted.
He took a deep breath before he answered.
“I do. I am not giving you a choice anyway. You’re stuck with me.” Always.
Ty looked down, as if he couldn’t bear the weight of Anush’s gaze on him.
“I didn’t thank you for… earlier. I almost lost it back there.”
“Don’t mention it,” Anush replied. “That’s what I am here for. At least he took your threat seriously.”
“As he should.”
Ty was still playing with the pendant tied around his neck. Anush brought his free hand on top of Ty’s, intertwining their fingers.
“I love your hands,” he whispered to Ty. “I wouldn’t want them to get soiled.” He tiptoed to bring his lips closer to Ty’s ear, almost brushing. “Especially now that I have experienced their full potential.”
Ty turned his face away but not before Anush saw his cheeks flush and the corner of his mouth quirk. Anush loved how he was still shy about these things.
He looked at the dark cobbled street before them.
“Fenwick’s minions must already be on their way.”
Ty cocked his head. “Coming from the west. They’re a mile or two ahead of us. Judging by their pace, they should be upon us in about five minutes.”
Anush nodded. Ty sometimes knew things – as if he had an invisible spy everywhere they went – and Anush had stopped questioning it. If Ty had wanted to share, he would have. Anush would not press him.
“Tactic?”
“Split. Confuse. Divide and conquer.”
“Good. I need the exercise. You take north by the river, I take south and we meet up west?”
Ty nodded, already veering in the opposite direction, two swords drawn.
“Meet you at Blackthorn Hall,” Anush cried out to him, as he started walking backwards. “First one there gets the biggest room.”
“Dream on,” he thought he heard Ty reply. He tried to catch one last glimpse of him for good luck but he had already been swallowed by the night.
***
Tiberius got there first. But he let Anush pick his favourite bedroom. All bedrooms in Blackthorn Hall were decorated with different themes, that one had a landscape - the view from the LA Institute’s rooftop, Ty had explained - painted over an entire wall, opposite the huge canopy bed. Anush found it quite soothing.
“Fenwick sent an army,” he said as he drew several Iratzes on Ty’s back. He whistled. “You must have scared the shit out of him.” They had managed to get rid of the last of Fenwick’s minions by drowning them in the Thames. Ty had a few fey allies lurking underneath the surface. Creatures he had helped escape from captivity.
When he was finished, Tiberius rose from the bed and Anush watched as he stored the bandages and gauze in a small cabinet in a corner of the room. He was naked from the waist up and Anush’s gaze lingered on his fellow Centurion’s lean and muscular back, a canvas way too beautiful for black Runes and faded scars that were now so familiar he could draw them from memory. His dark curls were still wet from the dive into the river.
Anush crossed his arms behind his head and settled comfortably against the headboard.
“Ty?”
“Yeah?”
“Fuck me.”
Tiberius stilled, his bare shoulders hunched.
“What, now?”
“Yes now. I want you.”
Ty slowly closed the cabinet’s door and turned to look at Anush, his gray eyes unreadable.
“Anush… My brother Julian is here. His bedroom is a few meters down the corridor.“
“So? It’s not as if he doesn’t know what we are up to. You're so lucky he’s smart and open-minded. The coolest. I wish my parents were the same. If they knew the things we did, they would probably drag me to Naraka themselves.”
“Anush…” Ty said softly. “You know it wouldn’t make any difference if you were a girl… I would say the same thing.”
“We won’t make any noise!”
Tiberius raised a dark eyebrow. Anush let out a deep sigh.
“Yeah, I know. It’s not my fault if you turn into this beast I barely recognize under the bed sheets.”
“I don’t hear you complaining.”
“Oh the noises I make are definitely not me complaining. Mister Hyde can have a ride anytime.”
Ty gave him one of his rare wicked smiles… The ones that always got Anush’s heart rate into high gear. He put his shirt back on and moved soundlessly to the door.
“Ty,” Anush called.
Tiberius paused, his hand on the doorknob.
“Yeah?”
“Stay for the night. No noisy and sweaty sex. Just…lie down next to me.”
“Anush,” Ty breathed, his look apologetic. And Anush braced himself for what would come next. The blow to his chest. Because he already knew what Ty would say. “Anush. You know I can’t sleep that way.”
“Yeah, no problem, I understand. Raziel knows we definitely need the rest.” Anush tried to reply in a light tone but the pitch of his voice rose awkwardly at the end. “It’s okay. Good night Ty.”
“Good night, Anush.”

ShinoMitsu Week 2021 Day Five: (Long Distance, Nicknames, Kimetsu Gakuen)
A/N: I kind of got a little carried away with giving Mitsuri’s siblings names and some screen time but I don't think it made this too much longer. Two more days left! Thanks for reading! Word Count: 3,074
“Hi, cutie pie!” Mitsuri said just before she clamped onto Shinobu’s back after classes let out. “Did you have a good day?”
“That one’s a miss.” Shinobu had answered. “But yes, my day was fine.”
“Aw, but you are a cutie pie!” Mitsuri grumbled.
“No.” Shinobu denied.
For some reason, seemingly overnight, Mitsuri became obsessed with finding Shinobu a nickname, but Shinobu had thus far rebuffed all of her attempts. A few names in the long list Mitsuri had tried were babe, baby, sweet pea, honey bunny, peanut, snuggle bug, muffin, cupcake, donut, marshmallow... a lot of them she had come up with while she was hungry. Every single one had been rejected with a laugh or a cringe, or a deadpan expression by Shinobu, but Mitsuri was not ready to give up anytime soon!
“Okay then speedy, I’ll walk you to the locker room.” Mitsuri tried again.
“My dad calls me speedy.” Shinobu revealed, “He’s been calling me that ever since I could walk.”
“What, so I can’t call you that?”
“No, you can’t.”
“Ah! How about my butterfly! That’s perfect!” Mitsuri shouted in excitement.
“Sorry, that’s claimed as well. Mom calls Kanae, Kanao and I her butterflies.”
Mitsuri huffed, disappointed, but she wasn’t done yet, not by a long shot.
“Very well then, milady.” Mitsuri said with a small bow.
Shinobu snorted.
“No, just no.” Shinobu shook her head while Mitsuri puffed out her cheeks.
“It’s harder than it looks!” Mitsuri defended, crossing her arms. “I’d like to see you come up with a nickname for me.”
“I call you Mitsu sometimes, don’t I?” Shinobu asked, retrieving her track bag from her cubby.
“Yes, and I like that, but, it’s very inside the box. Try something different and see how hard it is!”
“Mitsuri, no offense, but I think you’d like anything I came up with. You’re kind of a sap for this stuff.” Shinobu said, distractedly looking into her bag to make sure she had everything as they walked to the locker room.
“I would not! Trust me, not any old throwaway nickname will be enough to sway me.” Mitsuri stated confidently.
“Hmm...” Shinobu tapped her chin, thinking for a moment. Mitsuri was right, not any old nickname would be good. She had to think of something that she would actually like to call her girlfriend. Something that was near synonymous with her. Just before they reached the locker room, a small smile curved at her lips and she stopped in her tracks. Mitsuri watched her expectantly.
“Thank you for walking me to the locker room. I’ll see you on the bleachers, my sunshine.” Shinobu winked, she goddamn winked without looking like a total ass!
Mitsuri’s heart leapt in her chest and her face felt hot. She tried to hold it together, but Shinobu just sounded so genuine and sunshine was actually a really cute nickname and— argh!
“That’s not fair, Shinobu!” Mitsuri whined, covering her face. She swore it was growing even brighter as the Kouhai laughed.
“Keep trying, I’m looking forward to see what you come up with next.” Shinobu said before heading into the locker room.
Mitsuri didn’t waste anytime hurrying to the bleachers so she could figure out a nickname for Shinobu while she practiced. She sat there, tapping her feet against the metal plank below her. Her elbows on her knees and her hands holding up her head as she stayed completely zeroed in on Shinobu. Watching her, she hoped for something to come to her like some divine intervention.
Shinobu had an affinity for purple, maybe plum would be nice? Sugar plum? No, Shinobu never seemed to thrilled with the food related pet names.
Perhaps sleeping beauty? Whenever they slept over, Shinobu always looked so enchanting in her sleep. Maybe a good choice for when she just woke up or was notably tired, but it’s not exactly a catch all name that could make sense at anytime.
Flower, maybe? A certain type... lily seemed too on the nose. Shinobu always smelled like blooming wisteria, but Mitsuri didn’t think that made a good nickname. It was pretty, but it just didn’t sound playful enough.
Mitsuri blinked, breaking from her concentration as she realized that Shinobu had been swarmed with a handful of her teammates and they were all looking right back up at her with big, troublesome grins.
Apparently, Mitsuri was staring so obviously and with such intent, that she had made a bit of a spectacle of herself. She gave an embarrassed smile and waved down at them whilst blush prickled at her skin.
“Kanroji and Kochou sitting in a tree—” Mitsuri heard one of the girls start to sing before Shinobu punched her in the arm. Mitsuri recognized the girl as Makio-chan, a friend from her class.
The other two she recognized simply because they were usually in Shinobu’s relay team. Makomo-san and Ozaki-san smiled good-naturedly as they laughed along. They were also well known from the swim team and tennis club respectively.
Shinobu rolled her eyes, her cheeks lightly flushed. She shooed the other girls back in their positions and leveled a small smile up at Mitsuri before darting off.
Mitsuri relaxed her muscles with a sigh. An afterimage of Shinobu’s dark, purple eyes stuck in her vision. They reminded her of the cool, vastness of space and when the light shined on them just right, Mitsuri swore she could see stars, whole galaxies even. If Mitsuri was Shinobu’s sunshine, then Shinobu was like Mitsuri’s moonlight.
“That’s it!” Mitsuri cheered loudly, her fists rocketed up above her head. She quickly covered her mouth however, once she realized just how loud she had yelled. Everyone in the bleachers around her and in the field below glanced at her curiously before turning back to whatever they were doing before.
“Just you wait, Shinobu.” Mitsuri mumbled much more quietly under her breath, tracing Shinobu’s figure as she leapt over the hurdles, “I’ve got some really good ideas now.”
***
Mitsuri waited for Shinobu to exit the locker room after practice, poised and ready to strike! As soon as the younger girl emerged from the room, Mitsuri pounced. She took Shinobu by the hand and quickly maneuvered out of the building.
“Where’s the fire?” Shinobu teased. “I knew you must have thought up something good judging by how loud you yelled during practice, but I don’t see the need for urgency.”
“You’ll see when the time is right! I want this to be as organic as possible.” Mitsuri said, still pulling Shinobu along even as they left the school gates.
“Whatever you like,” Shinobu smiled, “but whatever you are planning, surely we can walk? I’m kind of exhausted.”
“Oh, right!” Mitsuri remembered, coming to a sudden stop that had Shinobu bump into her back. “Sorry.”
“You’re okay.” Shinobu reassured, re-adjusting her hold on Mitsuri’s hand before they continued to walk at a more sustainable pace.
Before school, they had already agreed that they would go to Mitsuri’s house to watch over her younger siblings while her parents celebrated their anniversary. Almost as soon as they opened the door, Mitsuri’s mother ran up and quickly pushed the fussy one-year-old twins into the girls’ arms, one for each of them.
“Thank you Mitsuri, Shinobu.” The exhausted woman said, already halfway out the door. “We’ll be back before midnight, have fun and be good everyone!” She called over her shoulder before quickly shutting the door behind her. The girls swore they could hear the squeak of car tires as Mitsuri’s mother quickly drove away to pick up her husband as he got off work.
“Wow.” Was all Shinobu could manage as she recovered from the woman’s quick exit.
“I know,” Mitsuri giggled. “It’s one of the few days a year she doesn’t feel guilty getting away from all this chaos,” she lifted her little brother higher so she could blow a raspberry on his tummy, making him laugh. “It helps that you’re here of course, it makes her feel better because you’re so good with everyone.”
“I still don’t know why these kids like me so much,” Shinobu shook her head, taking hold of the hand of the near identical girl in her arms so she wouldn’t pull her hair.
“It’s impossible for a Kanroji to not like you, take my word for it.” Mitsuri said, making her way further into the home.
It was true, for some reason the rest of the Kanroji family fell in love with Shinobu right away and were eager to welcome her into their home. She was thankful of course, but part of her was sure the Kanroji parents were just excited to double the amount of free babysitters at their disposal. Still, they treated her well and she looked forward to visiting the busy home that greatly contrasted her own.
Six siblings, Mitsuri being the eldest at seventeen, almost eighteen now that Shinobu thought about it. Then there was Akimitsu, the oldest boy of the family. He was thirteen and went to the same middle school as Kanao. Shinobu thought the boy couldn’t be more different than his older sister. He was a very no nonsense soul and rather particular.
Natsumi was the middle child. She was eight and every bit as energetic as her sister which could lead to trouble if she was left alone. Mitsuri had told Shinobu one story where Natsumi had been unusually quiet so she and her mom had gone looking for her and found her in the bathroom with the tub overflowing with bubbles that she had dyed blue with some food coloring she had managed to snag from the kitchen.
Last but not least were the twins, Haruka, the girl, and Hayate, the boy, born just last year. When they were first born, Mitsuri had said it was hard to tell them apart at first glance. Now that they were getting older, it was much easier to tell who was who. They were sweet babies, but their moods could easily diminish at the drop of a hat. Fortunately they seemed content enough for the time being.
Shinobu followed Mitsuri, lightly bouncing Haruka in her arms as she walked. They followed the sound of the tv to the main portion of the home and found Natsumi laying flat on her stomach, coloring while watching some anime. Akimitsu was sitting nearby doing his homework.
“Hello Onee-san, Kochou-san.” Akimitsu politely greeted before turning back to his studies.
“Shinobu-chan is here?” Natsumi whipped her head around, jumping to her feet with an excited grin. “Hey, hey! Can we make something explode today?”
Shinobu had helped Natsumi make elephant toothpaste once for a school project and the little girl had been hounding her for more experiments ever since.
“I’m here too, you know.” Mitsuri griped, setting Hayate down in the play pen. Shinobu knelt down to place Haruka beside him.
“I see you everyday, Onee-chan.” Natsumi stated plainly.
Mitsuri crossed her arms and turned away to sulk in the corner. That seemed to do the trick because Natsumi went from hanging off of Shinobu, to comforting her sister, hugging her tightly until Mitsuri smiled and spun her around.
Akimitsu really made the work easy by helping out when he finished his homework. Natsumi was always so invested in what Shinobu was doing that they didn’t have to worry too much about her slinking off to cause mischief.
So while Mitsuri and Shinobu made dinner, Natsumi cheered them on and Akimitsu watched over the twins.
“Pancakes, pancakes!” Natsumi singsonged. “Hey Shinobu-chan, is that what you use to make a volcano explosion?” she asked, pointing at the tablespoon of white powder in Shinobu’s hand.
“Not quite. This is baking powder, baking soda and vinegar are used in most volcano simulations.” Shinobu informed.
“I wish you hadn’t told her that,” Mitsuri sighed. “I’m gonna have to put those in the lock box from now on.”
“Sorry.” Shinobu smiled.
“Come on Onee-chan, can’t we make one little mess please?” Natsumi asked, her bottom lip protruded.
“You’re still on notice after the coke and mentos fiasco.” Mitsuri reminded.
“Boo.” Natsumi jeered, now resting her head on the table.
Shinobu found the way Mitsuri scolded her siblings incredibly cute. Even as silly and childish as the older girl could be, she wasn’t a pushover and was very responsible.
“Onee-san,” Akimitsu emerged in the doorway looking a bit green, “I think the twins need to be changed.”
As helpful as the young boy was, even he had his limits.
“I’ll help you,” Shinobu graciously offered as she finished mixing the ingredients.
“Thank you,” Mitsuri smiled, turning back to her brother, “Okay, just a second,” Mitsuri called back, turning off the preheated griddle since they were walking away.
“Natsumi, why don’t you color in the living room while Shinobu and I clean up the twins, okay?” Mitsuri added as a thought. She couldn’t leave Natsumi in the kitchen unattended.
“Fine, I guess.” The younger Kanroji huffed before following Mitsuri and Shinobu out.
Akimitsu looked queasy as they entered the living room. Mitsuri giggled and ruffled his hair before picking up Hayate. Shinobu hoisted Haruka up and then they went off to the nursery room.
They cleaned the little ones up and changed them. Mitsuri getting done noticeably faster than Shinobu since she had to change more diapers than any normal seventeen year old should.
They weren’t really in much of a rush though and spent a little time in their semi-private room to talk to each other and babble with the twins, stealing a kiss or two before heading back.
“Natsumi!”
Mitsuri and Shinobu heard Akimitsu yell. The kitchen. They looked at each other before quickly putting the twins in the play pen and jogged towards the kitchen, Mitsuri in front of Shinobu.
“What’s going on?” Mitsuri called worriedly just before crossing the threshold.
“Onee-san, look out!” Akimitsu warned just a fraction too late as Mitsuri stepped on something slick and her foot swung out above her as she lost her balance and began falling backwards.
Mitsuri let out a surprised yelp and squeezed her eyes tightly shut, waiting for impact. Fortunately, impact never came. At least, not in the form of the cold hard ground, but rather, lithe yet firm arms.
“That was close, are you okay?” Shinobu asked from above. She had managed to catch Mitsuri just in time, hooking her arms under her girlfriend’s.
“Yeah,” Mitsuri nodded, a bit breathless, “yeah I’m okay.”
“Good,” Shinobu adjusted her hold, “Now, if you could adjust your footing that would be great. I don’t think I can hold this position much longer.” she said, her arms trembling a bit as she tried to hold Mitsuri up.
“Right,” Mitsuri grabbed the nearby counter and steadied herself, finally looking to the ground below caked in pancake batter. “What happened in here?”
“Natsumi.” Akimitsu answered, crossing his arms. “I'll admit I was resting my eyes because the twins left me with a bit of a headache. I didn’t realize she would take that as a cue to ruin dinner.”
“I didn’t mean too.” Natsumi sniffed, “I was trying to help. I wanted to surprise you and Shinobu-chan.”
“Well, surprise us you did.” Mitsuri smiled sympathetically. “Help me clean this mess. We’ll have to think of something else for dinner.”
“Okay.” Natsumi replied despondently.
The peace that was once fell over the Kanroji household was broken. Pancake batter all over the kitchen floor and griddle (that thankfully was still off) and the twins started wailing and were inconsolable. Shinobu and Akimitsu left the kitchen to try to calm them while Natsumi and Mitsuri cleaned everything up.
Mitsuri called for Shinobu to order something for delivery as it became increasingly obvious that the mess was sapping up all her energy and she was too hungry to start a whole new meal.
Thankfully, after an hour of struggle, everything seemed to get better once the food arrived. The babies especially responded favorably in presence of dinner. Though is seemed that more food ended up smeared on their faces than in their mouths.
After dinner, Shinobu washed off the twins while Mitsuri bid her other siblings good night. Then she came back to help Shinobu put the twins in their cribs. They watched the energetic babies wiggle at babble at each other between the bars, laughing at jokes only they could understand.
“Hey, that was a really good catch earlier.” Mitsuri said, placing her hand over Shinobu’s resting over the bar of the crib.
“I couldn’t not try to catch you. I’m just happy it worked out.” Shinobu said in return.
Mitsuri leaned down, resting her forehead on Shinobu’s shoulder, a small grin growing steadily on her face.
“Thank you for saving me from slamming into the slimy, hard floor, my knight.”
Mitsuri felt Shinobu stiffen and frowned slightly. She had high hopes for that nickname when she started taking a different approach. Slowly, she eased herself back to her full height.
“Did you not like that one either...” Mitsuri trailed of a bit before a wide smile overtook her lips.
Shinobu, though rigid, was flushed pink. She busied herself with Hayate, letting him pull her finger around, seemingly unaware of, or unwilling to answer Mitsuri.
“You like that one.” Mitsuri singsonged, wrapping her arms around Shinobu, rocking her from side to side with a satisfied giggle. “My knight in shining moonlight, Kochou Shinobu!”
“Mitsuri, cut it out.” Shinobu mumbled with very little bite. Her skin prickled with embarrassment as she was pushed around by Mitsuri’s movements.
“I thought of starshine too. I thought it would be cute since you called me sunshine.” Mitsuri went on instead. “I was thinking about how your eyes make me of outer space so I had a few more like comet, shooting star, my Venus—“
“Okay, okay,” Shinobu chuckled, “you had your hit, let’s not get too out of hand here.”
“So you really do like it?” Mitsuri asked.
“Maybe.” Shinobu replied stubbornly. She slipped her finger out of Hayate’s hand and retreated out of Mitsuri’s hold and out the door. She stopped just outside of the room to peer back at Mitsuri.
“Movie?” She asked, clearly attempting to change the subject.
Mitsuri playfully rolled her eyes and nodded. Giving the twins one last glance over before following after Shinobu to make some popcorn. Popcorn that she was going to drizzle with maple syrup since she couldn’t have her pancakes.

Or it simply doesn’t have to be his house; the studio where Sunset Curve performed, always had Luke’s shirts he left behind. And, normally, he was getting very confused on where they disappeared. He knew exactly where his stuff is placed and he never had a problem with losing his belongings. But it frightened him, that they might’ve got stolen. Though, Alex’s sister, didn’t really refer to it as stealing, more as a friendly borrowing. She had imagined herself in his shirts, or him giving her one since forever, due to the years of having a crush on him. Her and Luke were connected because of the band, since both her and Alex play in it; well actually, Alex does, but Y/N comes as Luke’s back vocals. Though she never dared to wear them in public, she still wore them to sleep, or when she was only in the walls of her room.
-Are you going to rehearsal today? –her mum popped her head in the room.
-Rehearsal! –her figure straightened up from the bed, at the realization that she’s late. –Mum---damn it, Alex will kill me.
-Slow down my child, he just left.
-Then---why---didn’t---he tell me he’s going? –she barely even put her socks on right.
-I don’t know, and am definitely not going to interfere in any of your arguments. Dad and I need to watch the news. –she blew her a kiss, and disappeared from the door.
-What type of remote couple are you jeez? Watching news at the age of 40.  –she said, and threw on whichever shirt came to her hand first. And she thought it was just a plain white T-shirt, not knowing it’s Luke’s. She quickly took her bike from the garage, and was off to rehearsal. Y/N had never been so late to something, always avoiding getting into any type of argument with her brother, who hated people being late. Though the others could wait, he was a tough rock to deal with.
-I’m here. –she jumped in the room, and shut the door behind her, -I’m so sorry I’m late, mum reminded me of rehearsal. For else my brother didn’t even care about me.
-You’re 17 Y/N and mature enough for your own meetings. If you blame me for your own inabilities, then you better leave the band. Or, get yourself an alarm clock. –he said from behind the drums.
-Yeah I don’t need one, I have you; you never shut up. –she took her guitar and got behind the microphone.
-Oooh, slow burn; she roasted-. –said Reggie, but stopped getting fluttered when a glare from Alex shut him. –Yeah, that look says everything, I better not interfere in the sibling fight.
-Nice shirt. –said Luke, placing the microphone next to hers. Her eyes darted at her stomach, to only realize that she should never rush things, even if she’s very late. Alex heard Luke, and was going to later analyze the entire thing, but for now, they needed to focus on playing.
--
-Hey, Y/N, -he said, while they were on an eating break, -is that shirt new?
-Y-yeah, yeah it is. I bought it yesterday. –she cleared her cough, but could see from the corner of her eye, that Luke was hardly holding back a laugh.
-Luke, didn’t you have the same shirt? I think I remember well.
-I don’t know. Maybe. –he smirked, and continued stuffing his mouth with fries. Y/N started to fan herself with her hand, pulling the collar of the shirt because she couldn’t breathe.
-Or is that your shirt?
Y/N was now choking on her water. Luke tapped her back, and when she stabilized herself finally, there was an answer,
-Why would I take Luke’s shirts? Are you crazy? I don’t take clothes from you, then why would I from Luke?
-That’s because I don’t let your stinky nose mess through my stuff, Y/N.
-Ha Ha Ha. It’s like I want to wear your clothes.
She was sinking in embarrassment, and Luke was having fun with it. He realized there was something up with her for a long time, but it took him a few of her weird actions, to prove to himself, that Y/N might have a little crush on him. Not that he didn’t; she was a nice, fun, smart and a talented person, but he never thought about them dating, because Alex was his very close friend. Though girls like girls, always planning their wedding from the moment they catch feelings for a guy, and Y/N was no different of course. Like every normal teenage girl, she sometimes thought about the feeling of being in a young relationship.
Alex didn’t seem to be persuaded by her words though, he took his pen from the music journal, as if he’s going to write something, and secretly marked a line on Luke’s shirt. He didn’t know if she’s going to take it later, but really hoped she will, so he could write a conclusion in his head, that his sister and Luke are dating in secret. Or at least, that’s what he thought.
Y/N rocked the high notes, and it left everyone to only praise her. Luke was mind blown, and sometimes came to her microphone, so they could sing together, which made Alex way madder, that he threw one of his drumsticks and it hit Luke right in the head.
-Dude, -he held his head, -why did you do that?
-There was a big bug on your head, god knows what it can do to you. I saved your life, unthankful.
-Wait, I’ll go find some ice. –said Y/N, dropping the guitar at the stand, and jumping off stage.
-Ice, ice baby. –Reggie started to sing. –Ice, Ice baby. Alright stop, collaborate and listen Y/N is back with a brand new ice pack-
- Oh my god, shut your cassette tape of a mouth, -he said to Reggie and turned to Y/N, - Hey! He can get it himself.
-You hit him in the head, and it sounded as if you hit a pumpkin bro, I’ll help him.
-I’LL help him. You stay on your place. –he got all sassy, and when he left the room, the only thing that came to his head was a coca cola can from the freezer in their studio. And that’s what he came back with.
-I got hot even from the hit. –Luke slipped his hands under his shirt, and took it off, tossing it on his backpack. Staying shirtless next to her, and even touching his knee to hers, made Y/N turn into a red traffic light. Alex observed the entire thing, and she tried not to be obvious, though even Reggie and Bobby were aware of everything. -Yeah---we’re going home. Come on Reggie. –said Bobby, and said bye to the boys with their handshakes, as well as Reggie
.-I’m going to get my backpack, and then we’re leaving. –said Alex, and went to the little couch they had, to pack away his stuff. Y/N went to the bathroom quickly before they leave, and Luke had a crazy idea of shoving his shirt into hers without her or Alex knowing. It was really fun to him, to see her wearing his clothes, and now it was obvious where they disappeared.
-Come on Y/N, let’s get home before mum starts to panic and look for us with a whole police crew. –said Alex, when Y/N settled her backpack on her back. –Bye Patterson.
-Bye, Alex, bye Y/N
.-Bye Luke. –she didn’t even meet his eyes, and just followed her jealous brother out the door.
--
It ticked in him, the whole night, trying to know if she took his shirt. But it was really hard to know if she did, when there was music blasting at midnight as she tried to clean her room. He couldn’t wait anymore, impatiently tapping the floor with one foot. His parents were going to sleep, and warned her about putting headphones on, and she followed their order. Which for Alex, seemed like a great opportunity. He sneaked into her room, and even crawled to her backpack, and unzipped it, revealing what he was looking for. The same shirt Luke wore at rehearsal. The sound of the vacuum cleaner was filling the room, making her not hear a thing even more. He stumped his foot on the off button, and turned it off, as she still continued vacuuming.
-What is wrong with this? –she took her headphones off. –Oh, was my room that dirty that something got stuck?
-Maybe a shirt got stuck, take a good look. –he said from behind her, which made her jump.
-Youuuu-ALEX! Stop coming in my room without permi-
-wHy WoUlD I WeAr LuKe’S sHiRt? –he mocked her.
-Okay, I didn’t put that there. It’s really the first time I’m seeing it in my bag
.-I don’t believe you.
-I was in the bathroom, and when I came back we left. You were watching me the whole time.
-Nah huh, I don’t believe you. –he tossed the shirt, as it landed on her face.
-Whatever, I’m telling the truth.
-You lied earlier, though.
-Yes, I did. It was Luke’s shirt, okay? I took it because I was cold.
-I can’t even imagine the collection of his things you have put in a box in your closet. “I’m never washing this” “I’ll put it in a glass box so it never loses its scent”
-Get out already. –she took a cushion and threw it his way, but Alex was gone, so she missed him. –You’ll see Luke Patterson.
She opened the doors of her closet, and stuffed every single clothing she owned from Luke, and left her house, with a text message to Luke himself, to wait for her in the park near his home. Luke got excited. He spritzed some perfume, as well got dressed into some fresh clothes; fixed his hair, thinking Y/N will confess her feelings. But she didn’t know the facial expression that stormed her off the house, after getting annoyed at Alex.
-Hey…-he said with a wide smile, but his face dropped when she threw the backpack against his chest
.-These are all your clothes that I’ve borrowed from you. Take them all, and don’t worry they are washed.
-You didn’t have to do this-
-Yes I had to. I don’t want to be the reason behind you and my brother getting into a fight, because of a shirt I never put into my backpack today.
-Yeah---sorry---I did it. But only because it made me happy to see you wearing my clothes.
-Then I won’t be doing that anymore. I have my own.
-You really didn’t need to call me here to only give me my clothes. Or is there another reason why you’re here? –his chest arose in hope, and it dropped, waiting to hear the three words.
-No…there isn’t. I came here to ONLY give you the clothes, and go home.
-Okay, -he drew circles with his foot, -then I guess it’s all up to me.
-Wha- she couldn’t even say it properly, because he caught her face and pulled it towards his, attaching their lips together. It felt like Christmas, or New Year fireworks lit up in her. It was like being reborn or, nailing a high note. Those feelings all at once took a hold of her, and she couldn’t feel the tips of her fingers that didn’t know where to position in the moment, of how confused she was. Luke on the other hand, seemed like a professional in the whole thing. When they split apart, he placed the backpack on her back, as well as a few kisses to her cheeks. For a final, he pinched her nose, and intertwined their hands together.
-Come on crazy, I’ll walk you home. I don’t care if Alex gets mad, I love you and it’s all that matters.
-I-I don’t know what to say. –she still couldn’t proceed the situation. But she was walking; that she was aware of.
-Come on gorgeous, I know our feelings are mutual. It’s obvious. You love me too.
-Not---that---it’s not---true.
-Hah, I knew it, go on. –he was happily acting like a little kid.
-Okay…I like you, a lot. A lot, a lot, and it’s the reason I’ve been so weird with you lately. -I knew it Y/N, just didn’t want to rush you into it, because I could really even think about dating you because of Alex. But know if I think wisely, Alex doesn’t matter because it’s our relationship.
-Oh how he will matter when a drumstick comes flying your way.
-Uff, -he rubbed the place, -it still hurts you know?
-Awww, c’mere. –she pulled his hand, and placed a kiss to the place Alex threw the drumstick.-It’s nice to know I’ll have you around from now on.
-Yeah to secretly sneak shirts in my backpack, and then my brother arguing with me forever. It’s nice for you of course.
-At least one of us is having fun. –he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, and squeezed her into him.

**SLIGHT SPOILERS for “The Fight for Castle McDuck!” ahead!**
Because writing Goldie and Louie texting is so much fun.
*****
Yet Another Secret of Clan McDuck!
Goldie both loves and hates room service.
She loves the anticipation of knowing that a nice, hot meal that she didn’t have to make herself can and will arrive at any minute, ready for her to dig into after a long day of going after her next mark. But at the same time...she hates the actual waiting.
Still, it gives her time to freshen up, relax a bit. Maybe get a movie started on the TV, or text a certain green...nephew.
Only a week ago now, Goldie found out from her sources (while heading down to the Underworld to get a certain fallen wreath) that Louie had been at The Spice-A-Torium in Instanbull the week before that, facing off against Rockerduck himself, with the help of yet another kid to add to the family list (how many did that make now?). Of course, Goldie had texted him right after hearing that to see how he fared (she knew things could get spicy at those dealings), but what she didn’t tell him is that her source had said that Louie had used her as a reference in a couple of side deals, calling her “Aunt Goldie,” and that now, people were identifying him as “O’Gilt’s nephew.”
She really should’ve reminded him not to throw out ties that casually, that people could use it against him, or even her, but...they both have reputations that protect them (and if not, well, they’d be messing with the wrong aunt then). And, if she’s being honest with herself...she likes the way “O’Gilt’s nephew” sounds.
Not that she’s going to tell him that anytime soon.
Goldie sinks into her room’s couch, her phone already out and opened to her texts, and wills her heart to ignore that increasingly-familiar familial warmth bubbling up once again. Scrooge and the kids are staying in Dismal Downs for a couple of days, and it’s bad enough that she’s planning on sneaking into McDuck Manor before they get back not to steal something, but to surprise Scrooge and Louie when they get there.
But that doesn’t mean her heart has to make a big deal out of it.
Goldie: How’s the castle, kid?
It’s getting close to midnight in Scotland, so Goldie won’t be surprised if she doesn’t hear from Louie until tomorrow on the half-chance he’s already asleep. She drops her phone to her side and picks up her water bottle from the end table, taking sip after sip.
After a minute, her phone buzzes with a message, then another, making her smile more than she has any right to.
Sharpie: Cold as ever. And y’know, we found some magical bagpipes, saved them from some bad guys, and had some statues of our ancestors come to life. Typical day. 😝
Sharpie: Also we met our Aunt Matilda.
Goldie smiles again, this time though over Scrooge’s sister. She’s met her exactly twice, both times by circumstance (her past self would never have let her get close enough to Scrooge to willingly want to meet his family), but each time ended up being a riot as Matilda would tease Scrooge for having a girlfriend, thus helping her give him hell (yet another trait of her past self). Looking back between those meetings and the first night she met the triplets, Goldie now knows exactly where the boys get their teasing gene from.
Goldie: I like her. Give her my regards.
Goldie looks up and finally takes stock of what’s on TV. Whatever channel she put it on has delved into a new movie, some comedy from the forties. She can live with it, so she turns her attention to the time on her phone just as a new message comes in.
Any minute now. Food.
But for now, she’s looking at a selfie of Louie with Matilda leaning over his shoulder, waving at the camera. They’re surrounded by bits of concrete and other debris, with their sleeves rolled up and their clothes covered in dust, and Goldie can just make out the back of Scrooge’s broadcloth coat in the background as he lifts something onto a pedestal of some sort.
Sharpie: She’s right here. She says hi!
Goldie grins and nods silently at her phone, happy to see both of them looking well, but surprised at how...awake everyone seems to be in the castle at their hour.
Goldie: Hi Matilda!
Goldie: Also: did a twister take a wrong turn in Glasgow?
Sharpie: Right. The statues? They kinda made a mess of things, so we have to fix them. There was...a lot of fighting here tonight.
She doesn’t press it, not now. She’s about to eat, and everyone there seems to be happy for now. Luckily for her, Louie saves her from having to think of something to say in response.
Sharpie: Wait, oh man, hang on.
Goldie does as told, watching with renewed interest as a few seconds pass before those three little typing bubbles pop up. Briefly, she considers that the statues have come back to life.
After more than a minute of on-again/off-again bubbles, she finds herself getting interested in the movie and drinking her water again. Just as she takes a long sip, a new text chimes in.
Sharpie: Aunt Matilda wants me to ask you, how are things in Goldieburg?
Goldie does a spit take, her water spraying out into the room and all over her phone screen. Whatever brain cells she has left are used to automatically wipe her screen across her sleeve to dry it, because she’s otherwise occupied with her face heating up and Louie’s last word echoing through her head.
Goldieburg???
Matilda’s teasing. It must be her teasing, though...Goldieburg...is definitely a new one. One she can’t even begin to imagine the origins of, though she suspects that Scrooge’s face is probably just as red as hers right now. She also suspects that another fight is starting up, and judging by the fact that Louie was able to send his last text, she’d wager that Matilda is winning.
A knock on her door draws Goldie’s attention away from her phone, but does little to calm the growing turmoil within her. Of course her food would arrive at this moment. She spares a final gawk at her phone before getting up and throwing it to the couch cushions.
It takes all remaining ounces of her self-control for Goldie to ignore the bellboy’s questioning stares at her frenzied appearance as he pushes her room service table into the room, pops open the wine for her, and tells her that she can call the front desk at anytime for them to come get the table when she’s done. She doesn’t know how much she actually tips him, but judging by the wide, bubbly grin that replaces his stare as he rushes out, her mind was far from her wallet when she opened it.
Food. Also far from her mind, for now.
Goldie snatches up her phone as soon as the door is locked again, hoping that there’ll be some explanation waiting for her.
It’s not that she’s embarrassed by the teasing - heaven knows that she’ll be the first to tease Scrooge, for any number of reasons - but this one seems so...personal. So specific. She supposed she should be flattered to affect Scrooge so much that he came up with this, whatever the circumstances. And perhaps that’s it - maybe it’s not the shock of the...uniqueness of “Goldieburg,” but rather it’s that stupid schoolgirl-crush-like warmth creeping through her veins at the idea of Scrooge getting flustered about her around his family, of him telling them about her - however involuntarily or distractedly, it seems - in a way other than a cautionary warning.
That, and Louie knows about it. Somehow, she has the feeling that this is going to be so much worse than him - any of the kids, really - calling her “aunt.”
There are notifications for seven new texts and a photo.
Sharpie: Uncle Scrooge says for you to totally read that last text and to definitely bring it up next time you see him
Sharpie: And that Goldieburg is his favorite place in the whole wide world
Sharpie: and that I should stop texting if I wanna stay in the will
Sharpie: wait what??
Goldie notices a time jump between the last text and the next.
Sharpie: Good news, I’m still in the will, thanks to Aunt Matilda.
A picture follows, of Matilda holding Scrooge back with one arm looped under his shoulder and the other holding him in a headlock. There’s a dead-seriousness in Matilda’s eyes but otherwise she looks like she just won the sibling battle to end all sibling battles. Scrooge, meanwhile, is redder than his coat, missing his hat, and looks ready to break Louie’s phone, even though there’s no way in hell he’s getting out of his current predicament, especially considering that an emu is holding one of his legs in its beak. Still, the photo seems to have been taken from a safe distance away.
(Goldie will have to ask about the emu later, when things aren’t so....chaotic.)
Sharpie: Sooooo...does this make you the mayor of Goldieburg? Or is Scrooge the mayor and you’re the leading citizen? 😂
Sharpie: Oh! Apparently there’s a Goldiesota, too!
Goldie is now very certain that she is on fire, especially with that penultimate text. It seems that she and Scrooge are both definite victims of teasing here now. She buries her head into her free hand and rubs it down her face, pausing to type out the only response she can manage right now.
Goldie: I no longer like Matilda.
Louie’s response is immediate.
Sharpie: Awww
Sharpie: But she likes you! In fact, she says she would *love* to live in Goldieburg.
Sharpie: I would, too! I can just imagine it - cons and schemes widespread, with no laws getting in the way. Infinite gold that holds its value. It’d be paradise!
Sharpie: Though I’m sure Uncle Scrooge has something different in mind.
Sharpie: Wait ew. No. Nevermind.
Sharpie: But you know what I mean.
Sharpie: 💛💛💛💛💛
Goldie rolls her eyes, and takes a deep breath. Suddenly her appetite is back, and the movie seems very captivating. She needs a distraction right now, anything to quell the butterflies. She may be warming up to the idea of family, but right now, she feels like she’s being pulled straight into the heart of the castle across the ocean, and that’s a little too much.
So she throws her phone on silent and wanders over to the room service table, taking a swig of wine straight from the bottle before lifting the tray cover on the center plate to see the juiciest-looking steak one could ever hope for, still steaming.
Culinary bliss.
By the time she finishes eating, Goldie is certain that all of Castle McDuck is asleep, or that they should be. She saw enough debris in those pictures, they’ll need the rest to finish cleaning up tomorrow. So she dares to turn her phone face-up again and take it off silent mode.
Handfuls of texts from multiple people, and several missed calls.
She delves into those from Scrooge first. As much as she doesn’t want to talk to him yet about all this - and she’s sure he feels the same way - if he tried to reach out to her, then she knows he’s going to at least provide the basic facts, without any teasing. An anchor point for her to refer to in her other texts.
Sourdough: Don’t listen to any of them, the hellions! I swear it’s not what you think. Whatever it is you’re thinking.
Sourdough: We can talk this over if you want, dear. Whenever you want.
Sourdough: Or not talk it over. I personally would like to forget Matilda ever opened her big dumb mouth.
Sourdough: Correction. Matilda does “not have a big dumb mouth and tell her that I am the best sister you could ever hope for, or I’ll serve Emu-tilda her breakfast in your hat.”
That text earns a particularly amused snicker from Goldie. She can just imagine the giant bird she saw in the picture earlier staring Scrooge down as he typed that.
Sourdough: Look, can I call you?
Goldie surmises the missed calls from Scrooge happened here.
Sourdough: Never mind. We’ll catch up after this trip. When I’m *not* surrounded by these...troublemakers. Good night, love.
The butterflies have moved from Goldie’s stomach to her heart, and an entirely new anticipation fills her with excitement. If she was a schoolgirl in this situation, she imagines this would be like having to wait over the weekend to talk to her crush on the playground on Monday. Never mind the fact that she’s not even trying to figure out how to get out of this, at least not yet, she realizes belatedly.
There’s one more text from Scrooge, sent after a time jump.
Sourdough: Do NOT believe anything you hear about Clan McScrooge!
Goldie has to stifle a laugh at that, and guesses that she’ll definitely be seeing more of “Clan McScrooge” in her other text messages. But first...
Goldie: Good night, Scroogey. 😘
She’s so tempted to send “Scroogey McScroogey,” but between that and “Goldieburg,” she really shouldn’t tempt fate when they’re all each other has in a boat surrounded by teasing family.
It takes all of five seconds for Scrooge to send back a response, one that’s so simple but enough to tune out the night’s noise for a few moments.
Sourdough: ❤️
She imagines him fumbling to put his phone back on his nightstand next to some big ornate medieval-style bed, his mind already luring him back to a deep sleep. Never mind the whole “Goldieburg” thing, it sounds like he already had an exhausting night between the fighting and the statues and the bagpipes. And the emu.
As she swipes back to see her conversations, Goldie immediately notices an unknown number with a few texts waiting for her. After reading the first one, she makes a contact for it.
Emu-tilda: Goldie! This is Matilda, Scrooge’s favorite sister.
Emu-tilda: Louie gave me your phone number to help make sure you’re okay.
Okay? Goldie pauses, a wave of uninvited guilt washing over her, and she fights every instinct to immediately switch to Louie’s texts. Instead, she wills herself to read through Matilda’s, if at a faster speed.
Emu-tilda: I’m sorry about Goldieburg and all. When I saw that it was you that Louie was talking to, I wanted to get under Scroogey’s skin a bit, so I told the bairns a tale from ages ago.
Emu-tilda: I’m sure Scrooge will fill you in, and if not, I’ll be more than happy to.
Goldie makes a mental note of the offer, and of the ensuing picture of a smiling, somewhat frazzled-looking Matilda with her arm wrapped around her emu, posing for the camera. She’ll respond to her texts later, but for now, she switches to her conversation with Louie, having to scroll back up to where he left off.
Sharpie: An update: Uncle Scrooge got out of the headlock, and is now chasing Aunt Matilda on her emu around the room.
Sharpie: Matilda’s on the emu, that is. Scrooge can’t catch his breath.
Sharpie: Oh! Now they’re in the hallways!
Sharpie: And Scrooge has a sword from the wall.
Sharpie: He’s totally defending your honor.
A blurry picture follows of Scrooge from behind, wielding a sword as he runs after his sister, a scowl clear on the visible side of his face. Goldie saves the photo - she can definitely use this later.
Sharpie: Wait no, now the emu has the sword!
Another picture, this one much more stable, follows again. Indeed, the emu has  somehow gotten ahold of Scrooge’s sword and is now chasing him through some sort of dining hall. Matilda herself even looks surprised and worried as she clutches at the feathers on the bird’s back.
Another keeper for the camera roll, if only for the sheer hilarity of it all.
Sharpie: Ok, Great-Grandma Downy is awesome. She totally just yanked the sword right out of the emu’s mouth while she was still running. Emu’s confined to Matilda’s room for the rest of the night. We’re all having some hot chocolate around a fire.
Sharpie: So, all’s well that end’s well.
There’s another time jump before the last batch of texts.
Sharpie: Right...?
Sharpie: Aunt Goldie?
Sharpie: You’re not mad about all this, are you? We’re all sorry for teasing you and Uncle Scrooge, and I know he didn’t mean anything bad by Goldieburg.
Sharpie: Are you ok?
Judging from the next few texts, Goldie guesses that this is when the missed calls from Louie came in.
Sharpie: I’m guessing you’re busy. At least, I hope so.
Sharpie: Again, it was all just some family teasing. Y’know how it is.
Sharpie: If it makes you feel any better, you can bring up Clan McScrooge the next time you talk to him.
Sharpie: Goldie?
Goldie blinks up from her phone, overwhelmed by the growing panic radiating from the texts and the guilt rekindled in herself. The idea of Louie, let alone anyone in Scrooge’s family, being this worried about her, even if there’s no actual cause for it, makes it hard to swallow and she finds herself quickly reaching for her water, chugging down the last third of it.
Y’know how it is.
She can’t say that she does. Her own family was never this close, never bounced back this easily after fights. They never...cared like this.
Maybe her heart’s right in making a big deal out of this.
After a few deep breaths, Goldie finally answers Louie.
Goldie: I’m ok, Sharpie. Was just eating dinner, had my phone on silent. Didn’t mean to scare you.
She’s very much surprised and totally-not-touched when he immediately texts back. He should definitely be asleep at this point.
Sharpie: Oh good. So, you’re not mad?
Goldie: Mad? No. Curious about the emu? Most definitely.
Sharpie: 😂😂 Understandable.
Goldie: You should be in bed though.
Sharpie: Oh I am! Couldn’t sleep yet though.
Goldie: Uh-huh. Love you too. Now go to sleep.
Sharpie: 🥰😴💛
Goldie: 💚
Not even half an hour ago, Goldie would have sworn off her impending trip to McDuck Manor in the name of not wanting to face Scrooge after the revelation of Goldieburg. But now the trip is back on, and she can’t deny to herself that she’s eager to see the ones she cares about.
That, and pay a visit to Scrooge McScrooge, mayor of Goldieburg.

The Bitch of Daggers
TITLE: The Bitch of Daggers  CHAPTER NO./ONE SHOT: Chapter Four  AUTHOR:  i-would-kneel-for-loki ORIGINAL IMAGINE:  Imagine there being someone else like Loki in the Avengers and them meeting, that could never go wrong, could it? RATING: NOTES/WARNINGS: Feel free to give me your ideas on the story and if there’s anything I should improve or write, would love to hear your thoughts! :)
“Loki for fuck’s sake what are you doing?” I was incredulous. It had been a week since I joined and had been spending most my time with Loki since he was the most fun and less busy than all. We pulled some pranks that weren’t well received and that got us an earful from Cap and the Director.
“So Tony goes to see Pepper for two hours every day at 7 in the night, and during that time Bruce takes a coffee break while watching a movie in the living room. Rhodey is always sleeping at this time, meaning we can act without getting caught.” Loki began explaining his plan, he was bored so decided to prank the science bros. “We will go in and set the magical thin thread that will alarm me once they cross it. Then I’ll have the dead looking illusions rise from the ground. Do you understand?”
“Uh huh.” I nodded, unsure about all this. Though his scheming was great and I certainly admired it, I was not looking forward to their reactions that I was more than certain were going to be rage-filled. He rose his eyebrow, catching onto my sceptical tone. “But what if they get really pissed? Like, really really mad? You know? What if we get like, grounded or something?”
He sighed irritated, rolling his eyes and turning to look at Tony who was on his way to the lab. “Trust me gæludýr, if that occurs, it will be worth it.” He chuckled with a smirk. God, does he look beautiful, he looks so young and carefree, eyes glowing with mischief. I had only agreed to this because I wanted to see him smile, causing chaos and mischief seemed to always brighten up his days.
“Wait what?” I asked bemused. “What did you just call me?” But he completely ignored me, smirking he went back to his couch and resumed reading his book. I let it slide, sat on the other end of the couch and continued reading my book.
Time had passed and sure enough, at 7 PM, we saw Tony walk to the elevator, and Bruce came out 5 minutes after him. We left the library quietly, looking around to make sure that we wouldn’t get caught. We made our way to the lab, scanning the place to make sure no one was here and placed the thread. “God they’re gonna go fucking ballistics over this.” I muttered amusingly. Loki only laughed, clearly happy with his plan, he seemed right at that moment, as if he was where he belonged. Perhaps he was.
After finishing we went back to the library. Two hours later, screams and curses rang through the floor, I looked at Loki to see him grinning like a madman, happy. Seconds passed when suddenly we heard, “LOKI AND OCÉANE, YOU’RE FUCKING DEAD.” Tony was enraged. We got shit for it from mainly Cap and Fury, Bruce was scarred for life, he had also hulked out from the intense fear that coursed through him the moment he saw dead bloodied bodies floating around the lab.
“It’s simple fun elskan, no need to get worried.” He smirked. He has to stop calling me names I don’t understand, this was the second time in a row. “Do not tell me you don’t enjoy annoying them?”
“Oh I do, believe me. But what if Fury denies I see Flora because of this?” I whined stomping my foot. He looked up with furrowed eyebrows, his face studying me. “You know what? It’s almost midnight, I’m gonna go take a bath, see ya.”
I had just got out of the shower and was wearing panties and a bra when Loki charged in, completely oblivious and unaware of the term privacy. He looked at me and stopped in his place, looked me up and down then licked his lips, “Well what a sight for sore eyes.” His eyes darkened.
“What do you want horn boy?” I said with an eyeroll. As I was getting a shirt from my drawer, a hand snaked around my waist and pushed me against a wall. Loki was towering over me, his breathing heavy and body pressed against mine. “Loki,” I said shakily, “What are you doing? Get off.” But I didn’t make an effort to pull him off and he took that chance by taking my hands into one of his and pinning them above me, his right knee between my legs, rubbing me. He dipped his head in the crook of my neck and began leaving open-mouthed kisses.
All sense had disappeared when I felt his soft lips against me. “Do you truly want me to get off you?” He whispered in my ear, his voice like sin and silk. He rubbed harder against me and I gasped, rolling my head to the side when he began the assault on my neck again. I began breathing hard and whimpering when he suddenly pulled back, letting go of me and taking two steps away, a large grin on his face when he saw my hands still over my head. “Stark wanted me to get you down for dinner.” With a twinkle of mischief in his eyes and a lick of his lips, he walked out, leaving me wide eyed and panting. That little bitch.
I went down to the living room after wearing pyjamas then sat next to Loki and Peter on the couch, Scott came over right when I did, “What do you guys want?” He had an awkward father smile.
“What’s on the menu?” I asked with a smile. Scott was one of the sweetest in the team, he always took on the role of the father, especially with me. At first, I found it annoying and amusing, but now it’s become rather endearing. He handed me a leaflet and I skimmed through it, “Pizza please.” I then looked up at Loki and threw him the brochure, making him scowl at me, “Your turn to choose Loki,” then flashed him a toothy grin.
“Sushi for me.” He didn’t even look at the paper, then handed it to Scott. I was surprised he didn’t fling it at him, but then again Scott was always nice to him, I guess he didn’t find a reason to be rude.
“What about you Pete?” I turned to Peter who was busy building Legos with Ned, his best friend. He looked up confused, oblivious to our conversation. “What do you want for dinner?”
“Oh uh, I’ll have pizza.” Scott smiled with a nod, muttering ‘okay’ before leaving.
During dinner Loki sat opposite me, and as soon as we all sat down, he nudged my leg with his under the table, gesturing to Thor with his head, making me look at the latter wondering just what the trickster was up to.
The God of Thunder had ordered chicken wings, so when he went to pick up another piece, it flew from his hand and around the room. I burst out laughing at Thor’s shocked expression, a few others also laughed, but the bulky man soon turned angry. “LOKI!” He bellowed, “STOP WITH THE TRICKS.” But Loki was having none of it, he kept his little display of magic until he was satisfied with the amount of laughter that erupted from the table. When he put it back down in front of his brother, he turned and winked at me, causing me to chuckle even more. “Lady Océane!” Thor called out with his booming voice, making me look at him again, “How are you settling in?”
“I’m actually settling in pretty well,” I replied honestly with a grin, “I’ve enjoyed the last couple of days, it’s like a little family here.”
“Well that’s good to hear, we’re glad you’re enjoying it.” Cap said with a smile. “Nick Fury called this morning. Said he wanted you to see him first thing tomorrow morning.” I nodded.
“I’m glad we haven’t had missions this week. It’s good to have peace.” Tony added.
“Big mood Tony.” Cap said with a serious face followed by a sigh. I choked on my slice of pizza with laughter, Peter who sat beside me chuckled. Tony turned to him with a look of disbelief and anger.
“Peter we’ve talked about this.” Peter and I laughed at Tony’s amused but furious face. “Anyway, Poseidon, do you have battle armour?”
“Poseidon?” I raised an eyebrow. “And no, I usually just wear black clothes, any type of black clothes.” I ate another pizza slice. “Hey Cap?” Steve turned to me, “Did Fury say what he sought me out for?”
“Uh yeah, something about your little sister.” I was shocked, and apparently it was obvious on my face because Loki gave me a concerned look, but I gave him a small smile to reassure him.
After dinner, Loki and I were in the library when I quietly asked. “So I was wondering, if Fury allows me to visit Flora tomorrow, would you uh- would you like to… accompany me?” I looked up at his face to try and gauge his expression, he was shocked and I immediately feared the awaited rejection. “You don’t have to though, it’s okay. I was merely pondering, I’m sorry, forget I asked.”
“No it’s okay I- I would love to.” He had a small warm smile, and I flashed him one right back, ecstatic that he agreed.

16th Avenue | Edmund Pevensie x Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: Mentions of drugs and alcohol
Time/Era: Modern AU, Aged 19
Word Count: 2k
Summary: A midnight adventure in which the only things available to Y/N and Edmund are limited cell service, saved Spotify playlists, and Y/N’s 15-year-old hatchback.
Request: Hi! first I wanted to say that I love your stories, I discovered them recently but I already read them all, and then I wanted to know if you could write an Edmund x Reader based on the song I Think He Knows by Taylor Swift, thanks!
A/N: Basically a small town AU where two kids in their late teens are trying to find entertainment one late summer evening.
masterlist | narnia playlist | read on ao3
Edmund laid in his bed with his phone held above his face, staring blankly at the illuminated screen. He read over the messages he shared with Y/N L/N, a girl he had met at university a few months before he moved home for the summer. The conversation, in his opinion, was rather flirty, but it teetered to close to the line between friendly teasing and romantic advances for Edmund to know for sure.
His room was sticky with heat, making all the warm air stick directly to his skin. He yearned to go swimming or at the very least take a shower, but running the water at half-past midnight would surely wake his entire family.
Moving back home for the summer seemed like a good idea at the time; he could save money, see his little sister, and spend a bit of time to himself. But, as time passes on, Edmund yearned for the freedom of his newfound adulthood and life away from his family.
Y/N proved to be a saving grace in that aspect, as her family lived a few towns over from Edmund and she owned a car. It wasn’t a very attractive car, but it had a sunroof, large hatchback trunk, and an AUX cord, which is all you really needed. She always kept a few snacks and blankets in her backseat, too, so the car (which he learned was called Comet,) served as a little oasis in the boring world that was home.
The brown curls on Edmund’s head stuck to his forehead in a thick layer of sweat; the August heat was proving to be too much for Edmund’s body. So he laid, duvet pushed in a heap at the foot of the bed, and overthought the texts. His finger teased the power button as the heat lulled him closer to sleep.
That was until Y/N’s typing bubble popped up on the screen. Panic surged in his chest and he shot up from his bed to pace around the dark room. His only source of light was the screen of his phone, which made his face appear slightly blue due to the screen.
pulling up in 10. be ready.
Edmund looked down at his appearance; the skin of his bare chest was moist from sweat and his boxer briefs clung to his toned thighs.
are you crazy? My mother will kill me if they knew I was out at this hour.
The metal box fan clanked in the corner as if it were a washing machine full of tennis shoes.
so? we’ve been over this. you’re 19, not 9. loosen up, pevensie.
Edmund took a deep breath before dressing himself in as lightweight clothes as possible and packing his backpack. He never packed heavily, but he grabbed some headphones, a phone charger, a flashlight, a pack of gum, and a sweatshirt. It was doubtful that the sweatshirt would be needed, but it could potentially be used as a blanket for the two to lay on, or rolled in a ball to form a pillow.
The door to Edmund’s room squeaked loudly as he opened it, making all of the muscles in his body tighten. He glanced at his sister’s door and breathed a breath of relief when there was no movement behind it. All he had to do was make it out the door without being noticed.
“Ed?” Lucy’s voice sounded through the darkness at the exact moment Edmund’s hand came in contact with the front doorknob.
“Lu,” He responded nearly frozen in place.
“Where are you going?” The bag of pretzels in her hand crinkled. Ed mentally cursed himself for forgetting she was a midnight snacker.
“Somewhere,” He pulled the door open with a single movement of his arm. “Do me a favor and don’t tell?”
She popped one of the pretzels and chewed it completely before responding. “Tell me where you’re going and I might consider it.”
“I’m going out with Y/N, there are you happy now?”
Her eyes widen and she smiles, “Like, on a date?”
“No, I don’t think so. We’ll probably just drive around and chat.” The headlights from Comet shine through the open door and blind the two siblings. “Promise not to tell?”
“I promise! But really, Ed, you better lock her down. The good ones never wait,”
Edmund nods, shutting the door before half-jogging to get in the passenger side of the hatchback.
“Pevensie! I thought you were going to wimp out on me when I saw you staring into the darkness with the door open.” She looked over her shoulder to check for cars before making a U-turn.
“Oh, yeah, I was talking to my little sister. I had to convince her not to tell my mother,” Edmund forced a chuckle.
“Your sister still lives at home? I thought she went to that one uni in, like, Scotland?” The crystal hanging from the mirror swung side to side as Y/N steered. It was oddly mesmerizing.
“That’s my older sister, Susan. I’m talking about my younger sister, Lucy. She’s 17.”
Y/N made a small “o” with her mouth and nodded. “It must be nice to be in such a big family, you guys all sound so close.” She pulled the car onto one of the main roads, which was completely empty at this hour. The thrilling feeling of spontaneity settled in Edmund’s stomach and any reservations he had about coming faded into existence.
“Yeah, I guess it’s fun. That is until you realize my mother has a bad case of empty nest syndrome and has her heart set on keeping me inside the entire summer,”
“Is that why you are only ever able to hang out past midnight?”
Edmund chuckled for real this time. Something about Y/N’s constant teasing made his heart fly in the most carefree way possible.
“Yeah, I have to sneak out the front door so she doesn’t see me, her 19-year-old son, leave the house without permission.”
Y/N gasped, whipping her head to look at the boy. “How dare a 19-year-old leave the house without Mummy’s permission! Are you trying to give Helen a heart attack?” The two erupt into laughter, making Y/N grip her faded steering wheel cover even harder.
“Come on, Dj Ed, why aren’t you playing music?” One of her hands found the AUX cord and threw it onto Edmund’s lap. He stares at it for a second before connecting his phone. “Play the playlist we listened to last time, I liked that one.”
The street lamps on the road became less and less frequent as they continued to drive further into the country. Edmund had never been in this direction before, at least to his knowledge; It was always hard to distinguish places at night. Y/N, however, was very familiar with where they were going. Living in such a small town, Y/N had ventured out as soon as she got a driver’s license in order to find any smidge of entertainment. That was when she found 16th Avenue.
“Where are we going?” Edmund asked at last. He had to speak loudly over the music blasting through the speakers.
Y/N made a left turn down a pitch-black dirt road, which appeared to be more of a ditch than a street. It was in the middle of two very large fields, one wheat, and one corn, which were illuminated by Comet’s headlights. It looked like the setting of a horror movie and seemed as though a monster was going to jump on the car at any moment. A nervous feeling filled Edmund’s lungs.
“Welcome 16th avenue, Ed.” Y/N’s happy tone made her companion relax a bit. Not a lot, but a bit.
“It looks like some possessed scarecrow is going to run across the road at any moment,” Edmund half-joked, fiddling with his backpack strap.
Y/N giggled and pulled off the road and into the wheat field. The crops had been parted previously, it appeared, so there was a little path big enough for the hatchback to squeeze through.
“Why would there be a possessed scarecrow? This town is much too boring for paranormal activity.”
The path soon widened into a large circle clearing and Y/N parked the car. Before turning off the engine, she opened the sunroof, rolled down the windows, and lowered her seat.
“Lay your seat back, Pevensie,” Y/N instructed before getting out and opening the trunk. Edmund obeyed and watched as she circled the car to return to the driver’s seat.
“Tada,” She bent her knees so she was laying back and her shins were resting against the steering wheel. “16th avenue, my favorite place ever.”
“The stars are so bright out here,” Edmund gazed up in wonder at the twinkling lights above. Canis major was perfectly visible through the roof.
“I know, it’s so far from the city so there’s no light.” Y/N turns her face to admire Edmund in the moonlight.
Half of his face was dark, but the part of his skin that was visible was smooth and blemish-free. Y/N’s eyes traced the curve of his button-nose to his sharp jaw. It appeared angular and strong, but Y/N couldn’t help but think how soft it would be to touch. His eyelashes batted beautifully against his rosy cheeks and the freckles that dusted his nose matched the constellations above. Edmund moved his head to match Y/N’s gaze, a blissful smile tugging at his lips.
“Do I have something on my face?” He mumbles, having felt Y/N’s eyes trace every visible piece of him.
“Other than your cute freckles and strong jaw? Nothing,” Y/N spoke before she overthought her words. Tonight was about adventure and risks.
Edmund’s already heat stained cheeks darkened, his smile growing. “Cute? You’re the cute one,” The warm summer breeze whistled in through the windows and rustled their hair.
“Not even, not when you have a face like that and a body like-” She gestures towards his lying form. “-that.” Y/N’s eyes followed the lines of his legs and up his torso. She wished she knew that body as well as she knew her own.
Edmund seemed to take a breath, “You took me all the way out of town and into a wheat field to call me cute, is what you’re saying.” His bashful smile turned cocky as he quirked his head upwards.
“Well, yes and no. I brought you here because I was tired of waiting.” Y/N sat up and turned so she could see Edmund. He followed suit quickly.
“Waiting for what?”
“To finally see what’s under that attitude of yours,”
Ed swallows the lump in his throat and scoots a bit closer. It wasn’t much closer, due to the center console, but it was enough to make the point.
“There have always been sparks between us, you can’t deny that, Ed. So, I brought you here to chase them. The sparks, I mean. I want to chase them with you, if you want to, of course.” Y/N’s eyes never left Edmund’s as she spoke.
“God, I want to. Fucking hell.”
Edmund leaned over the console to capture Y/N’s lips in a well overdue kiss; the kiss the pair had been dreaming about for months. The warm air stuck to their bodies as they held each other the best they could. Y/N’s hands ventured into Edmund’s messy curls and his thumb rubbed into her thigh. Y/N felt him smile into the kiss and move the hand up her leg.
Y/N thanked the universe that they were in the middle of nowhere as she climbed over to join Edmund on the passenger side of the car.

Worship me- Chapter 2
Warnings: abusive family, arranged marriage, talk of sexual abuse/ child marriage, talk about religion and other triggering themes. (lots of angst as well)
Word count: 2.6k
Last chapter recap: Her fingers gripped her phone tightly as she typed in his number, writing him a text
‘Harry, it’s Y/n are you awake?”
His response was quick, maybe 30 seconds after she’d sent hers
‘yea, what’s up? You alright? Feeling better?’
A fresh wave of tears were building in her eyes, shaky fingers typing out her next message
‘no, Harry please help me. I’m scared please.’
The word that best describes Harrys current state is : panic.
As soon as he read her response his heart started to race, hands itching to clench into fists and his stomach felt like it’s been punched by Mike Tyson. He didn’t understand why he felt this surge of emotion, he’s not used to experiencing empathy or concern for people other than himself. He was a cold, confident and described as a ‘tough guy’ so he really didn’t know how to handle the way he was feeling right now, especially over his classmate. Harry was the type of guy who fucks and dumps a girl, he didn’t really care much but with y/n for some reason it was different and he didn’t know if he likes it or not.
‘what? What’s wrong Y/n?’
He was gnawing on his lip waiting for her reply, his forehead breaking out into a cold sweat from the stress when she took over three minutes to reply.
‘my parents hurt me Harry, please help me’
Immediately he was on his feet, marching towards his mothers room since she took his car keys at night, trying to prevent him from sneaking out at least on school nights. He didn’t care it was midnight, someone asked him for help and he was going to try his fucking hardest to do so.
“Mum! Mum please open the door! I need my keys it’s an emergency” Harry felt a bit guilty about pounding on his sleeping mothers door at such a late hour, but he has to focus on something else right now. When a sleepy confused Anne cracked her door open, squinting at the hall lights he took his chance to barge in, “Harry, what are you doing? What happened baby?” the boy plucked his car keys from the little bowl on her dresser turning back to his confused mum. “I’m sorry, I’ll explain later but my friend needs help. It’s Y/n, you know the girl I did a project with? The sweet one? She needs help. I love ya’ mum I’ll be safe I swear.” As soon as he entered the room, he left slipping his shoes on as he slipped out the door to rush to his car, fumbling with his phone to send another text to her.
‘I’m on my way, what’s the plan? Are your parents asleep?’
He cursed to himself when his nervous hands dropped his keys under his seat while on their way to be shoved into the ignition. His ringtone sounding deafening to his ringing ears.
‘They are still awake. This was a bad idea, I’m sorry for bothering you. I shouldn’t of overreacted.’
Y/n was shaking, her parents had come knocking on her door just as Harry texted her about his whereabouts and she immediately knew she wouldn’t be getting out of there and she was stuck doing damage control through a text while trying to stuff her phone under her mattress so her parents didn’t break down her door. She somehow managed to do it all in 10 seconds, swinging her door open to reveal her mother. Y/n shivered from the look her mother was giving her. She knew what was going to happen and she wanted to vomit from it. Her parents would force her to do ‘purity checks’ whenever they thought she was disobeying god. It was a humiliating experience, painful and it made her feel sick every time. she felt stripped of all security and privacy when her mother did a gynecologist type exam on the young girl to make sure her hymen is still intact justifying it saying, ‘when you disrespect god, we have to make sure you aren’t doing it from lack of purity’ ‘no husband will want a dirty girl’ ‘it makes god happy’, but it didn’t make Y/n happy. It made her scared, it felt wrong but she knew she didn’t have a choice and she was royally fucked if Harry was still on his way there.
Her tongue was numb from how hard she had bitten down on it, silent tears puddling at the side of her face while her mother did her ‘check’ on her daughter. Y/n was mortified, felt entirely violated and was trying to resist the urge to vomit. Y/n has started to disassociate during stressful times like this. She forced her mind to go else ware so she wouldn’t completely break down. If she let her mind convince her she was on the beach, wrapped in a warm towel with the sunsetting it made the reality less loud to her.
Her lucid state vanished as her mother removed herself from between her legs, noting she was still ‘pure’ and ‘valuable for trade’. The dehumanizing way of speaking, truly and deeply made Y/n feel like nothing more than an object. A possession that’s meant to be bought and sold, rather then the young woman she was growing to be. Feeling worthless was something she was becoming accustomed too even when it made her feel like maybe, life wasn’t worth living anymore. She didn’t like feeling like this.
The tears didn’t seem to stop while she walked into her bathroom, dipping her head down to take a sip of water from the faucet to try to soothe her pounding head.
When she was sure everyone else was asleep, she felt grabbed her phone from under her mattress finding loads of messages from Harry.
‘what? Love, you’re scaring me what’s going on?’
‘I’m coming anyway, I don’t care.’
‘I’m outside, whenever you see this let me know because I’m not leaving I’m parked by the end of the block.’
‘Y/n please, please answer me. you’re not okay I know it’
y/n was conflicted. She felt trapped, her way out was so close yet felt so fucking far. She didn’t know what to do, her head felt like it was going to explode.
‘sorry, my mum came in and did a purity check. Had to hide my phone. I’m sorry I scared you I shouldn’t have said anything. You can go home I’m sorry Harry.’
Harry lifted his forehead off his steering wheel when he heard his phone go off, a frown etched deep on his face while he read it. What the fuck is a purity check? Why is she defending her parents? Why is she apologizing for asking for help? It didn’t sit right with him, not one bit. Harry had met y/n’s father once at a school event and he didn’t like the vibe he gave off in the slightest. He reminded him of how the handsy priests looked at the young girls at school, her father had cold eyes was basically emotionless and spoke about Y/n like she was a dog or an object. It made his skin crawl then, and now more than ever his alarm bells were going off. Harry was good at reading people and energy they gave off. He was associated with drug dealers, and other not so savory characters and he had a good reader on for when they were sketchy, or untrustworthy and her father definitely gave that vibe.
‘no, y/n I’ll break into your house if I have to. You either come with me willingly or I come in and get you. I’m not leaving without you.’
His response woke Y/n up a bit. She was reminded why she asked for help earlier, the feelings coming back completely. And so, she listened. When she heard the soft snores start to grow louder coming from her parents’ room, she started quietly gathering up a small bag with her phone, a charger, her school bag and a toothbrush. She was still dressed in her school uniform from earlier, she never had a chance to change. Her knuckles were swollen, bruised and aching while she zipped the bag tiptoeing down the steps and fleeing through the door in only her tight clad feet dashing towards Harry’s car.
Harry jumped when he heard the sudden knocking on her car window, seeing Y/n he immediately unlocked the door breathing a sigh of relief when she hopped in the car. He felt better knowing she was with him now, she was safe for the time being, and as soon as he looked at her, she burst into tears. Big fat tears coming from her pretty eyes, rushing down her cheeks as choked sobs rattled through her throat. He felt a foreign pang in his chest seeing the usual sunny girl breaking down in front of him. “Here, hey c’mere.” He spoke softly to her, his hands moving to bring her over into his lap using his free one to pull a lever so the seat slides back to give them enough space for her to be held securely in the older boys embrace. “it’s okay, everything’s gonna be alright. You’re safe, I’m not going to hurt you. Not gonna let them hurt you either. Breathe Y/n breathe, god you’re shaking like a leaf darling.” He kept his tone level and soft while he spoke to her, stroking her back and hair trying to calm her down enough so he can drive them somewhere safer.
Y/n sat herself up a bit to wipe her eyes, only then did Harry see the damage on her poor hands. It looked horrible, how someone’s knuckles look after punching a concreate wall. He gently took her hands in his, looking over the injury sucking in a pained breath “Christ love, what did they do to you? Does it hurt? can you bend them?” she nodded and showed him how she could still ball her fists even with the bad pain, which showed him they weren’t broken.
“C-can we le-leave please? Y-you can drop m-me at the school and I’ll c-camp out there till we have class. I don’t have anywhere e-else to. I c-can go back home if yo-you want me to-“ she was rambling, she felt like a burden. Y/n really didn’t know where to go from here, where did she even have to go? Her sisters were hours away with their husbands, she didn’t have any friends and there was no where to go. “No no, you can come to my house. Not letting you sleep outside that shithole. Can come to my house, promise I won’t hurt ya’”
At this point she was too tired to fight, too upset to refuse so she simply nodded and let him place her back in her seat and make the drive towards his home.
“Here, drink some water. Do you want to change hon?” Harry had Y/n sit on the couch as they got into his home, handing her a bottle of water before sitting on the coffee table in front of her. “No, I don’t have any clothes. I’ll just keep this on since we have school in a few hours. I’ll just have to wait to get home before I can change.” Y/n wasn’t really understanding the situation at hand, she didn’t see the turmoil around her like Harry did. “No no, we’re taking the day off school and you’re not going back home till I know what the hell is going on there. you can wear some of my clothes. They’ll be big on you but it’s better than our shitty uniform.” He insisted, holding her chin to make her look at him. “Harry those are bad words, shouldn’t say that.” Her reply was soft, reminding him she still was y/n sweet and innocent. But right now, he needed to be the mature and brutally honest person for her because she was clueless.
With some gentle convincing Y/n finally agreed to change. He gave her privacy while she changed into the baggy sweat pants and hoodie that seemed to swallow her since they were so large. Harry thinks she’s never looked smaller, more fragile, or cuter. But right now wasn’t for crushes or cuteness, this was a time to take care of the girl. “Comfortable? Good, here finish the water and eat a few of these crackers. Can sleep in my bed, I’ll take the couch yea?”
She did as she was told, sipping the water till it was gone and munching on the saltines while she sat on his bed laying down when she was finished.
Harry took a blanket and pillow downstairs and started to situate himself on the couch, getting himself comfortable before a soft padding on the steps caught his attention and there was Y/n standing with misty eyes holding one of his blankets in her hand. “What’s wrong love?” “Scared…scared to be alone I’m sorry…c-can you stay with me please? Or i-I can sleep on the floor while you sleep on the couch so I’m not alone?” Harry took a few moments to think her words over, his mind slow from his tiredness but Y/n in her fragile state took this as a dismissal and so she nodded to herself and sniffled, “It’s okay, sorry for asking…sleep well Harry.” Before he could respond she had rushed back up the steps and into his room. She felt embarrassed, small and vulnerable. Her mind screaming, she was ‘stupid’ for even asking him that, she was convinced he only pitied her and that’s why she’s here. She couldn’t fathom the idea of anyone actually wanting her around or caring about how she feels. While in her current mental state with the loud thoughts banging on the inside of her skull, she started putting her things back in her bag, planning to leave so he could sleep without being bothered by her.
“What are you doing?” Harry’s voice seemed 10 times louder as he stood against his doorframe, rubbing his tired eyes while watching Y/n scramble to collect her belongings. Her movements halted instantly, nerves making her feel sick yet again. “W-was just gonna go home. I’m sorry I shouldn’t of come here, you did so much for me I just have to change and I’ll be gone, I’m sorry.” Her speech was frantic, fumbling her words a bit as she tried to rush it out. “What? Is this because of what you asked? Love I’m sleepy took me a minute to form coherent words. Relax put the bag down, lay down I’ll stay with you.”
When she didn’t react he took it upon himself to remove the bag from her shaky bruised hands, gently placing it on his desk and guiding her to lay in his bed moving in next to her before flipping the lights off.
“Harry?” her voice was mouse like, but he still heard it. “yea love?” his hand searched for hers in the dark, “Thank you for helping me…means a lot…i-I’m afraid Harry...” once he grabbed her hand he remembered it was injured, opting to wrap his arm around her shoulders instead. “Scared of what Y/n?” there was a few beats of silence before she timidly answered, “My parents…and God”
Harry took a deep breath before responding, “Well, you don’t need to be scared of God. You’ve done nothing wrong. Your parents are going to be punished by him, not you. And for your parents…can you please tell me what is going on?”
“what do you want to know?”

mac and cheese with ketchup.
because the recent chapter was... something, i felt like i had to write this piece before i write anything else. i’ll be addressing what happened in the chapter, so a trigger warning for a brief mention of harassment does apply.
-
it’s after midnight when AJ’s phone pings. it’s Zoey checking in. asking if she’s safe and if she wants some company. AJ reaches for her phone and types a quick response out.
[12:24am] AJ: i’m fine. just felt like being alone for a bit. don’t wait up.
[12:24am] Zoey: okay. be safe. call if you need to.
[12:24am] AJ: i will. thanks.
AJ tosses her phone back onto the table, sinking back in the booth, and tipping her head back. she lets her eyes fall closed and for the first time in since everything happened, actually lets her mind wander.
she hates the image that her mind decides to conjure up. that god-awful shrine in the back of Benji’s closet. it makes her shudder. but still. she keeps her eyes closed. forces herself to think about it. to remember it. because maybe if she thinks about it, it won’t bother her as much.
“refill, love?” a voice, a warm and older voice, says.
AJ snaps her eyes open, heart thumping against her rib cage. she takes a moment to refocus her attention. remind herself of where she is: some 24 hour diner with pale yellow walls, dim lights, and tattered grey booths lining the walls.
“what?” AJ says, shaking her head free of the image.
“refill?” the woman says again, nodding to the empty mug, still patient and with a warm smile that reminds AJ so much of her mother back home.
“oh, uh, yes, please.”
the woman fills AJ’s mug and looks at AJ a lot like a mother would look at their daughter. “you okay?”
AJ forces a smile. it doesn’t quiet reach her eyes. “just tired. had a busy few days.”
the woman nods, doesn’t seem to believe it, but doesn’t push for answers. “get you anything to eat?”
AJ’s about to decline. but then she has an image of home. an image of late nights spent in the kitchen with her sister where they’d make some of that box mac and cheese after a particularly shitty day. “do you have mac and cheese?”
“sure do.”
“could i just have a bowl of that, please?”
“of course.” the woman writes the order down and disappears into the kitchen.
it’s probably ten minutes later that a warm bowl of mac and cheese is placed down in front of AJ. and normally she’s not one to add ketchup to her mac and cheese, but her sister is, and right now, AJ misses her sister. so she pours some ketchup over the mac and cheese, and even though it kinda ruins the meal for her, she feels a little less alone.
she pays the bill not long later, leaves a generous tip on the table, and steps out onto the dark and cold street. a quick check of her phone tells her it’s getting closer to one o’clock. she should really go back to her dorm and try get some sleep. she’s got a class tomorrow. but she can’t. she can’t bring herself to walk back onto that campus.
she’s about to start walking. maybe try find a bar she can sit at for a bit. but just in her peripheral vision she sees someone. Poppy.
AJ sighs. of course she’d run into Poppy.
they lock eyes for a moment. stand in the orange glow of the street light. and then AJ just turns and leaves. she walks down the street and buries her hands deep her in pockets to fight off the chill that’s starting to set in.
“AJ, wait,” Poppy calls out, and she even jogs to catch up.
“what?” AJ snaps when Poppy catches up. “can’t we just pretend that we didn’t see each other?”
“i just...” Poppy sighs. “i’m sorry.”
and that... AJ hadn’t been expecting that.
“i shouldn’t have said that you made it up. that you’d lied about what he did. and all the other stuff i did too. that was cruel and completely uncalled for.”
“well... thanks?”
and Poppy actually looks surprised, maybe a little confused and... offended?
“that’s it?” Poppy says.
AJ shrugs. “yeah? what’d you expect me to say?”
“more.”
“you want ‘more’?” it’s AJ’s turn to look offended. “you were horrible to me! i don’t care if you want ‘more’. that’s all i can give right now.”
“i apologised,” Poppy says, her tone cold.
“so?”
“i don’t apologise.”
“well, i think you really need to figure out why that is before you start asking for forgiveness.”
they stand in the silence for a moment. a cab whooshes past and AJ can see a few people stumble out of a bar a few blocks up.
“for what it’s worth,” AJ says, “i’m sorry too. for everything i did to you. but i think it might be a good idea if we stay away from each other for a bit. you’ve got stuff you need to figure out and i just... i think i need a break from everything for a while. so, thanks for the invite to your party, but i’m not going.”
and then AJ leaves.
the weeks drift by and AJ keeps mostly to herself. she only really leaves her dorm for class, to pick up food, and the occasional dinner out when Zoey suggests they get off campus for a bit. she goes back to the dinner a few times. always by herself and always to eat a bowl of mac and cheese with ketchup. she watches movies with Zoey even though they both have a mountain of work to do. it’s nice. it makes remembering what happened with Benji a little easier.
“i think i’m ready,” AJ says late one night, movie credits rolling on the screen.
“ready?” Zoey says, looking up from her phone.
“to go out.”
a hesitant smile begins to bloom across Zoey’s face. “are you sure? because there’s not rush.”
“yeah. i think it’s time. and besides, i kinda miss it.”
and then that hesitant smile turns into a real smile and Zoey’s talking so fast AJ’s having a little trouble keeping up. she does catch something about a party the football boys are throwing at the end of the week.
Friday comes and they go to the party. it’s fun and easy and AJ really loves that no one’s mentioning that this is the first time she’s been out since Benji. she dances, talks, laughs, plays some games with everyone, and has something to drink too.
Poppy’s there too, AJ realises about half-way through the night. they stare at each other from across the backyard. they don’t say anything. simply offering a polite nod before they both go back to doing what they were doing.
after that Friday night, AJ starts easing back into her old routine. she still sees Poppy a few times a week around campus, but neither of them offer more than a simple nod.
it’s a few weeks later when, along with the polite nod, AJ offers Poppy a genuine smile when they see each other across the quad. a smile which Poppy returns with one of her own.
the months drift by. winter comes and goes, and now they’re about half-way through their spring quarter. AJ’s okay now. she still has days where the memories are too much, but she knows how to deal with days like those.
she still visits that diner with the pale yellow walls, dim lights, and tattered grey booths. enjoys a bowl of mac and cheese with ketchup each time she visits because it makes her think of home. of her sister. and even though she goes to the diner to be alone and think. she needs some kind of reminder that she’s not completely alone in this world.
she’s at another party now. can’t quiet remember the reason the hosts decided to have it. maybe just for the hell of it. that seems like reason enough.
it’s the end of the night and AJ’s in the kitchen, sitting on the counter and munching away at the bag of chips she found in a cupboard. they’re a little stale, but she’s a little drunk, so she doesn’t really care.
then Poppy walks into the kitchen, red solo cup in hand, and they both freeze in place.
“hey,” AJ says, suddenly feeling a lot more sober.
“hi,” Poppy says.
“fun night?”
Poppy shrugs. “it’s okay. you?”
“it’s good.” AJ clicks her tongue, figures they need something to fill the silence. “want some?” she offers the bag of chips to Poppy.
“no thank you.”
AJ nods and then jumps down from the counter. “well, i’ll let you get back to it.” she turns to leave but stops when Poppy speaks.
“i figured it out.”
“what?” AJ turns back to face her and moves a little bit closer.
“why i don’t apologise. there are a few reasons, but i think the main one is that i don’t want to be seen as weak. like, if i admit that i’m wrong or concede to someone, then they’ll walk all over me.”
“oh.”
“yeah.”
“what are the other reasons?”
“i’m stubborn.”
“i could have told you that.”
they both smile at that, because they both know what she’s talking about. that night they shared in Poppy’s room all those months ago, and Poppy had insisted on trying those beauty products on AJ.
“and,” Poppy says after a moment, suddenly serious, “i also don’t want to be less than perfect. i can’t be less than perfect. my parents, they’re...” she trails off, hopes that AJ can fill in the blank for herself.
“oh.” AJ swallows and wrings her fingers together. “do you wanna talk about it?”
Poppy shakes her head. “i don’t think here” —she gestures widely to the party— “is a good spot for that.”
“right.”
“but maybe some other time? when we haven’t been drinking?” Poppy says, her voice hesitant.
“yeah.”
then they both offer each other shy smiles as they go their separate ways.
they start to talk after that though. nothing serious. just small trivial stuff. everyone else on campus seems to realises that they’re no longer at each other’s throats, but aside from a few whispered comments, no one really makes a big deal about it.
AJ likes that.
it’s towards the end of the semester when AJ lays awake in bed one night, drumming her fingers against her stomach, and watching the shifting pattern of the moonlight against the ceiling. she makes a split second decision and texts Poppy. sends her an address and tells her to meet her there.
AJ climbs out of bed and pulls on some clothes before slipping out from her dorm quietly so she doesn’t wake Zoey.
she sees Poppy standing under the orange glow of a street light as soon as she turns onto the block.
“is everything okay?” Poppy says, sounding concerned and worried for her friend as AJ jogs up to her. “why’d you want to meet here?”
AJ doesn’t say anything. just smiles and takes Poppy’s hand in her own as she pulls her into the diner with the pale yellow walls, dim lighting, and tattered grey booths.
“evening, AJ,” the woman says, offering one of those warm maternal smiles.
“hi, Cath,” AJ says as she leads Poppy to her favourite booth.
it’s a few minutes later, once Poppy and AJ are both seated across from each other, that Cath comes up to their table. AJ orders her regular and Poppy says she’ll just have whatever AJ’s having.
“why did you bring me here?” Poppy says once they’re alone again.
“i wanted to share it with you.”
Poppy leans forward a little. “is that the only reason?”
she’s fishing for answers. AJ knows that. what they have has always felt a little more. more than friends. more than casual hookup buddies.
“no.” AJ says. “can we talk about that later though? i really want to just have a simple and easy meal with you here.”
“okay.”
Cath comes back then. two bowls of mac and cheese in hand and a bottle of ketchup held under her arm. “enjoy, lovelies.”
Poppy eyes the food and then watches with abject horror as AJ adds ketchup to her mac and cheese.
“what?” AJ looks up at Poppy, as though she’s completely unaware of the wrong she’s doing.
“why?”
“why what?”
Poppy nods to the ketchup bottle in AJ’s right hand.
“i know it seems kinda weird, but it’s good. really.”
“i doubt that.”
“just try some.”
“no.”
“please.”
Poppy concedes and takes a forkful of food from AJ’s bowl. and it’s... good. surprisingly good actually.
“well?” AJ smiles, hopeful.
“i like it.”
and then AJ’s beaming.
they talk a little bit while they eat. but mostly, AJ’s just happy to eat in silence, and enjoy that Poppy is sitting across from her, eating mac and cheese with ketchup, in the diner with the pale yellow walls, dim lighting, and tattered grey booths.
