Almost (if not all) of these characters are Queer As Hell. It’s brilliant. If you like Golden-Retriever-Sunshine-Boy-with-Troubled-Past x Grumpy-Black-Cat-with-Emotionally-Distant-Parents trope, then you’ll love this!

I saw this in my local public library once, picked it up, and never (emotionally) put it down. These books started my craving for 2D queer sports. This is what put me onto “Fence” in the first place. It’s canon, it’s sweet, the main character is a cutie, what more could you want?

Now, you might think, “Exy isn’t a real sport” and you would be correct. Nora invented it for the novel. It’s like if the basics of lacrosse met the violence of ice hockey and it was played on a football (soccer) sized field with a balance of genders on the teams. This nonsense altered my brain chemistry, for better or worse, we will never know. However. If you seem intrigued, and want to read, PLEASE google the trigger warnings. Anything you think could possibly be triggering is definitely in this book. If you don’t want to google for fear of spoils, feel free to message me. These books are simultaneously the best and worst things I've ever had the (dis)pleasure of reading. I love them. They’re terribly written. They’re a mastery of metaphors set on a background of college sports with a mafia subplot. It’s like if a crazy fanfic got published. ALSO short king representation. Main man is 5’3, second main man is 5’0. I love this to pieces and I hate it to nothings.

Yuri on ice

Medium: Anime

You know this one. If you don't, it’s not technically canon, but they buy each other (engagement) rings and kiss (sort of) on screen. Slays. Victor Nikiforov has my heart.

SK8 the infinity

Creaotr: Bones

Medium: Anime

This one makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside i love it so much. There's angst and love and found family and tragic backstories and funny characters. Not canon though. Hashtag Japan Definitely Doesn’t Have a Homophobia Problem and That’s Definitely Not Why All of The Anime’s on This List Aren’t Canon. Anyways, it’s really cute and I watched t when i was in my own skateboarding era so i loved it so much.

Thank you for asking! This post will get way too long if I answer all your questions, so here's a post where I talk about some of my fav HxH moments (4/5 of which are KilluGon related), and here's my Headcanons tag to see some of the headcanons I've posted or approved of previously. I'm sure I'll revisit similar questions to these over time as well.

I haven't had anyone ask about ships that remind me of KilluGon though, and it's a fun question to answer! I think KilluGon is very unique, so these might not be incredibly similar, but I'm focusing on ships that give me a similar feeling or have commonalities that I think are worth mentioning. I enjoy all of these ships to varying degrees!

I'm going to stay away from ships from big, currently popular shounen series that people typically bring up in comparison with HxH (JJK, HeroAca, etc.), both because the ships I've come across in those don't actually remind me of KilluGon very deeply, and also because it's more fun to recommend ships/series people may not have heard of already!

Reki Kyan and Langa Hasegawa (Sk8 the Infinity)

I'm all but certain these two were based off Gon and Killua in part--the personalities of the two and dynamic between them feels fairly similar, and the antagonist of the series, Adam, also strongly feels like he's based off of Hisoka. The series itself is less serious/dark than HxH so the intensity isn't the same, but they definitely have a similar strong friendship basis and mutual adoration to Gon and Killua.

Suletta Mercury and Miorine Rembran (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury)

Suletta is straightforward, somewhat oblivious, and grew up isolated from others (a bit like Gon), and Miorine is confident, tsundere, and trying to escape the influence of her rich and powerful family (a bit like Killua), and the two hit it off quickly and find joy and inspiration to keep going in each other. The degree to which they influence, support, and adore each other feels familiar. There are some later developments (spoilers) that remind me of Gon and Killua as well.

Yuki Sanada and Haru (Tsuritama)

Yuki, who has severe anxiety, ends up having his life transformed when the strange and overly friendly Haru appears suddenly. There's a real cuteness, joyfulness, and closeness between them that reminds me of Gon and Killua, and the way they help each other understand the world differently and change each others' perspectives as well.

Maru and Kiruko (Tengoku Daimakyou / Heavenly Delusion)

I can't say too much about this ship because I don't want to spoil any surprises, but let's just say in at least one major way it's not how it appears. Maru (the blond one) shares several commonalities with Killua, though he's at least a bit more straightforward in his emotions like Gon; while Kiruko is somewhat more tsundere initially (due to understandable past reasons). Their bond reminds me of Gon and Killua in that they travel all around together and develop a very close friendship and devotion to one another, and while one is more openly affectionate the other holds back more initially.

(This series contains some mature content, including a depiction of sexual assault, so please be careful when checking it out, but it's fantastic!)

Shindou Hikaru and Touya Akira (Hikaru no Go)

These two are rivals and obviously Gon and Killua are not, but at the same time there's a certain intensity and degree of being obsessed with each other than reminds me of KilluGon, as well as things like their bickering and the degree to which the series revolves around their connection. It's been a long time since I read the manga so I admittedly can't remember all the details, but I feel like it's maybe a few steps closer to Gon and Killua than, say, Hinata and Kageyama from Haikyuu (though that's also a great rivals -> friends ship that has some commonalities with KilluGon). It has a strong canon basis and I remember really enjoying how their bond develops!

Riko and Reg (Made in Abyss)

Riko is an adventurous, plucky girl who goes on a dangerous journey to find her missing parent, while Reg the robot boy supports her on their adventure (and semi-secretly adores her). Reg is also voiced by Mariya Ise, Killua's seiyuu, so it's hard not make the comparison! The personalities of the two are definitely similar and their bond feels familiar.

(Made in Abyss looks cute but it contains a great deal of upsetting/potentially triggering content, please be careful if you decide to watch or read it! It's amazing, but definitely not a series that will appeal to everyone.)

jujutsu kaisen

- itafushi: literally my number one ship ever. they make me so fucking emo. the tragedy of what couldn’t have been prevented. i pray for itafushi moments in the jjk manga but every time it happens it is somehow worse than the last. peace 🙏

- yutamaki: they mean so much to me. i love them both platonically and romantically! their moments in jjk0 are super sweet and i love that they’re always supporting each other 🥹

- satosugu: this is a ship i’ll put in a blender. i don’t usually think of them but when i do i want to throw up blood. they’re the cause of all my problems. i love them. they are so my tears ricochet core

- shin soukoku: MY YIN YANG DUO!! they are the dumbest. somehow they bulldozed past all the normal stages of dating and went straight to dying for each other. who does that.

- kunichuuzai: i’m cheating here because i love all individual pairings in this ship AND the poly ship. especially kunichuu which crept up on me and slapped me in the face. chuuya being downbad for kunikida is GREAT. they are so good when you dont have toxic shippers breathing in your ear about how one is better than the other ❤️

- tachigin: do u ever think about how they’re both liars. how they both have a hidden identity. how they both found family within the mafia not as the person they really are, but as the person they pretended to be. how the betrayal felt like when tachihara dropped his mask. OUGH

i also really like ranpoe and atsulucy! and beast!akutagawa x beast!tanizaki is cute too

Do you have any favorite sk8 fics?

Oooookay! I have a BUNCH of SK8 fics I really love, so I'm just gonna pick just 5 from my bookmarks, because otherwise I will literally give you a list 40+ fics long.

I'll have you know that in going through my bookmarks for this list, I was kicking my feet and giggling going "Oh THIS one was good, and oh THIS one was good. Whoever curated this list has excellent taste."

After Your Heart Stops Rushing is a fic that takes place immediately post episode 12, with Reki and Langa decompressing after the funeral beef, talking about ~feelings~ and stuff (Reki feels insecure about Langa still wanting him after the adrenaline wears off). It's very tender and features confessions and the like.

just read my lips (they’re pretty loose) is a fic that takes place a little in the future. Langa and Miya are professional skaters and they're back from Tokyo for a visit. The basic story is that Reki has a praise kink and won't tell Langa, so in trying to figure it out, he asks every single member of the main cast. Most of them figure it out before him. Poor Reki, the secret's out. This fic is just full of details that scream love for every character and the whole show, and it's the first SK8 fic I ever fell in love with.

Honorifics is a fic about Langa hearing Reki call him Langa-kun to his sisters and deciding he wants to hear him say that all the time. Featuring adorably flustered Reki who can't take Langa's direct form of communication. (This one is actually locked behind needing an account, if you don't have an account, DM me and I'll send you a PDF.)

the most wonderful night of the year is an amazing fic about Reki thinking that Langa asked him out for Christmas Eve when Langa really just meant it like asking him over for dinner with his family. Cultural differences. Oops. Confessions and just a dash of homophobia to make it hurt and you've got yourself genuinely one of my favorite fics of all time.

How to Get Away With Topping is a really funny fic about Langa being a pillow princess and Reki thinking himself into knots trying to get Langa to be more dominant even though they're both happy with the way things are. (He's convinced himself that Langa must want to top. He doesn't.) I really like the details in this fic like Reki knowing that everyone must assume Langa tops just based off of how they look and act, and just a smidge of sexism and homophobia feels very realistic (I don't even know if those parts where on purpose but the point stands).

ranking anime pt 1

ranking a few of my favourite animes in terms of plot and characters

Bungo Stray Dogs (the manga) i'm actually a pretty new fan but its def the best mangas i've ever read. and notice how i say manga, not anime. the anime actually kind of sucks. the plot is very interesting and intriguing, and all the characters are very well-written. idk where asagiri got the idea of taking historical poets and authors and turning them into hot manga characters from, but i love it. its a very cool concept. you def need to read all the side stories to understand whats happening at times, but you can easily find the side stories on sus illegal websites or just buy them (or watch the anime adaptations). atsushi is a well-written main character and dazai's personality literally has my mind running in circles. this is a manga that makes you think a lot, but if you like literature, def give Bungo Stray Dogs a shot. you won't regret it!

Toilet Bound Hanako-kun (the manga) notice how i said manga again (the anime could do so much better). the art style for this book is AMAZING and the characters are SO WELLWRITTEN. like the title is a bit weird you I SWEAR YOU WONT REGRET IT IF YOU READ IT. its literally the best mixture of romance, comedy, horror, and mystery. its sort of a slowburn and i wish hanako's backstory will be revealed soon because im literally dying to know what ACTUALLy happened between him and tsukasa. and i want to know how nene and hanako's relationship grows!

Spy x Family this is the perfect comedy-action anime to watch with your family and friends. the concept is cool and its fun to see how anya, loid, and yor's relationship grows! I want to know what will happen at the end and if loid and yor actually stay together. its a very good anime and i highly recommend it.

Jujutsu Kaisen i'm a fairly new fan of jjk but i really love it! at first i had to read it a couple times because of all the fast explanations for cursed energy and stuff, but i think i've memorized it all now. yuji is a very interesting main character, and its nice to see his internal struggles with hosting the most evil cursed monster alive. his struggles of accepting his fate and his struggles of losing the people he loves is something that i like seeing (not in a sadistic way) because it accurately shows his character development. i love the strong female characters (shoko, maki, utahime, etc etc) and the subtle inclusion of the lgbtq community (kirara, mai, megumi, etc etc). the character developments in this series in CRAZYY like i actually love it so much. what i don't like is how some of the explanations are a little nonsensical and they pass over the important stuff too quickly. but overall, its a very good series and i recommend it!

Sk8 the Infinity i was so sad when season one of Sk8 ended, because it was really good. i hope they make season two soon. sk8 is so good because it shows reki's struggles, just like how gege shows itadori's struggles. the characters develop nicely, and the relationships between the characters are shown nicely. its a very fruity anime that i HOPE will end like yuri on ice (with reki and langa getting together BECAUSE I WOULD LOVE FOR IT TO BE CANON) its short but sweet and i highly recommend!

The Promised Neverland (the manga) i CANNOT express how much i DESPISE the anime. i HATE IT SO FCKING MUCH. anyways, the manga is pretty good. its another series that works your brain a lot, and it kinda makes me sad because there are literal eleven year olds being smarter than me 😭i personally really like isabella and yugo's characters, and i sort of dislike emma's desire to save the demons. like girliepop pulled the main character card and said "i wanna save everyone so no one has to suffer!" personally i would've gone with norman and ray's plan sooooooo....i also dislike how emma loses her memory at the end. i know it was really important, but i wish she could've gotten her memories back after reuniting with them again because in the canon manga, she CANT remember a SINGLE THING which means ALL THE THINGS SHE DID WITH HER FAMILY are just GONE. i actually screamed when i read that she never got her memory back. i also wish the author had maybe specified a bit more on isabella and ray's relationship as mother and son. anyways, a pretty decent story with good characters.

Demonslayer this is actually my favourite anime. I love it so much. ive read the manga over ten times and it has tanjiro, one of my all-time favourite anime characters. the reason its ranked so low is because of how simple the plot is and how it sort of repeats the action scenes. some of the characters could def be written better, but there was a lot of very good characters as well. tanjiro's character is written so well, and so is shinobu's. i wish we saw more of rengoku before he was killed off after like thirty minutes of screentime, and i wish the author hadn't killed off obanai and mitsuri at the end. that kind of made me mad. but they were reincarnated happily, so its ok! there are some nonsensical explanations and some random things here and there. people say its only because of the animation, and even though the animation is what makes it popular, i personally think that the story itself isn't that bad. its good, and i recommend.

Haikyuu haikyuu is like THE sport anime. its good and its actually taught me alot about volleyball. its also the reason i started playing volleyball. im the libero on my team 💪 its very exaggerated, but the characters are well written and the team's struggle as a whole is laid out well. i like the concept and the main character (hinata) is acc so funny like i love him so much. its the first anime i watched, and its def not the genre i would watch as a first choice, but for a sports anime, haikyuu is really wellmade. the reason its ranked low is because i'm not very interested in it anymore/not really my thing

My Hero Academia i was OBSESSED with this last year. like it was the literal reason i was living. but now that i go back to read it again, its sort of repetitive and deku has become WAYYYY too OP. it started off with a cool concept, but the author has been dragging it out for wayy too long. the fighting scenes are all the same and deku needs to put aside his "good side" and actually take actions that will be for the better, like KILLING OF SHIGARAKI INSTEAD OF WANTING TO 'SAVE HIM' LIKE WHAT?? i also hate how uraraka's whole personality has just become "i have a crush on deku" and i kinda hate how the author portrays uraraka's relationship with toga. i actually kind of despise this anime.

“A-A-Achoooo!” You sneezed loudly, even painfully, and your precious boyfriend immediately jumped in place and quickly ran to your huge bed.

“Y/N!” His terrified, yet delicate face looked really comical at the moment, but as soon as you laughed gently, you felt a sharp pain in your chest and throbbing around both temples. “Is everything right?”

You shook your head and hid under the white-blue covers to the very tip of your nose, and Hiromi sighed sadly. During your illness, you were always so sleepy, sore and often very sorrowful.

“I think it’s time to take your medication, honey. Wait for me here, okay?”

You smiled anyway – your man was really trying and you appreciated it very much.

For the first time in his life, Reki tried so hard to make all his notes legible and colorful. He don’t want you to have any arrears in connection with your illness, so red head wrote down even the smallest details so that you can be prepared for all (even unannounced) exams in the future. He also wrote important dates and information about trips and contests that you loved to participate in.

He visited you every day because your home was on the way to his own house, often without even informing you of his arrival to give you a little surprise. In addition, he always brought you your favorite apple buns from the school shop, and on weekends he would ask his mother to pack some warm soup in thermos. You adored Mrs. Kyan’s udon so much.

“... I don’t know if I told you, but Yuki and Ino did some very strange actions! And it all started with a lunch break during which Ino...”

Even when you were sick, you definitely didn't miss a thing in school thanks to Reki.

With the tall man, even despite your mood, you felt well, and your recovery was faster than other people. However, this is not surprising; his warming soup, healthy and fruity snacks, and a balanced cocktail-assisted diet have always helped you get back on your feet in just five days. Your fever passed very quickly and your overall fatigue was destroyed thanks to warming desserts with chocolate or caramel.

And of course, if necessary, your boyfriend would either feed you and give you a soft kiss on the forehead every few moments, or walk around the apartment in just an apron to make you warm up even more and forget about the pain in the legs, back and head.

“... Honey... Is this... my favorite ramen?” You asked with a big smile, and the green-haired one just nodded.

“Nutty ramen with tofu, cabbage and sweet corn for my beloved, big baby.” A proud smile appeared on his lips and you clapped as you watched the beautifully smelling dish.

With Kojirou, the disease was... really cool!

After a short phone call with your mom, Langa went to the store for some snacks for you (both sweet, salty, and those filled with vitamins or protein). He bought you two apples, yoghurt, your favorite chocolate, as well as chips and cinnamon buns.

He had a really great relationship with your whole family, so as soon as he knocked on the wooden door of your apartment, your mother hugged him and thanked him for taking care of you. She offered him some tea and cookies, to which Langa obviously agreed and thanked heartily. After a while, however, he apologized to a middle-aged woman and went to your bedroom to say ‘Hi’ and give you the food (and some kisses).

It wasn’t a surprise for the young boy that you just fell asleep tired of your illness and catching up at school. You looked really cute, despite the huge blushes on your face, the tangled hair and the saliva escaping your mouth. Your boyfriend put all the things on your desk and then lay down next to you. You were terribly hot and a bit sweaty, but the teenager was fine with it. You still smelled like yourself – like fruity shampoo.

It didn’t bother him to the point that he ended up falling asleep next to you, and when your mother put the tea next to the shopping bag, she took a quick photo of you two. Then she quietly left the room and you didn’t even notice her, still cuddled up to each other.

Kaoru is... in between everyone.

When you are sick, he cares about you a lot (seriously), buys you healthy snacks, tries to cook with internet recipes (or with Kojirou's help, but he won't admit it). He always tries to be next to you whenever you call him, and he never gets nervous and waits patiently until he can wipe your tired body after a bath or dress you in clean clothes.

“... Y/N, time for your meds.”

“How long will I be taking these dumb pills?” You asked sadly and then sourly swallowed the bitter pills and drank too sweet cough syrup.

“You have five days until the end of the treatment.” He said in a warm tone of voice. “But if you want to heal faster, cover yourself with a blanket and I’ll make you hot tea with fresh lemon and honey.” He added with a slight smile, and you immediately grabbed his warm, big hand. “Hm?”

“Could you ... Could you give me a hug right now and then bring me some tea?”

Your boyfriend of course agreed, and after a short while you just fell asleep; you were so sweet, so your boyfriend did not leave you until you woke up by yourself.

it’s me. a hate anon. i’m being incredibly annoying about my take on fictional characters.

anyways who is a*am or whatever i want all the tea

lol oh buddy you have no idea. its been so many years of bullshit and, granted, its been a while since ive been in the trenches, but i have ALL the tea to spill. okay, so,

Sk8 the Infinity was a shounen sports anime that aired in early 2021, January to April. It followed the protagonist Reki Kyan, a 3rd-year in high school who was a skater. But this isn't just an anime about skateboarding. The grand majority of the skating took place at "S", an illegal skating course in an abandoned mine. The important races are "beefs", and there are no rules to beefs; you can injure your opponent in any way, and there's no consequences.

Some other relevant characters are: Langa Hasegawa, nicknamed SNOW, the deuteragonist; Ainosuke Shindo, ADAM, the antagonist; Tadashi Kikuchi, supporting character. Not sure whether to place him as an antagonist or protag, he kinda straddles the line.

The thing about ADAM is that he's the subversion of an all-too well known anime trope: Pedophile villain. See, while he does not in fact have those feelings towards minors in the show, he. Is very complicated. He has a whole thing where he thinks love is a good thing but also pain, because his aunts beat him and said it was because they love him and he believed them. He's also still grappling with the trauma of being "betrayed" by his childhood friend, Tadashi.

He's trying to find the EVE to his ADAM, because he hurts from being betrayed by the person he cares for most, but in reality, what he really wants is Tadashi back. But he's confused, and thinks that wanting to hurt someone means loving them. So he doesn't know what love feels like. If he thinks he "loves" himself, he hates himself and wants to hurt himself. Which. He kinda does try to kill himself sort of in the finale. It's a whole thing.

(Notice how I put "betrayed" in quotes. If you read scum villain, its a similar situation as with QiJiu. One party wanted to protect the other and failed, so they stay silent and do all they can for that person out of guilt. The other thinks the other really did betray them, and is hurt that that person is so much colder now, that the other person doesnt love them anymore.)

So, anyways. Adam is confused about what love is, and his arc in the first season was learning to not "love" people the way he does, and to accept care, even if he doesn't know it's love. When he reconciled with Tadashi in the final episode, he said "You'll be my dog for the rest of our lives", and I and everyone else in the Tadaai fandom understood he said that because 1. kinky fuckers lol 2. more relevantly, saying he loves Tadashi would be a red flag, because his definition of love is completely warped. Regardless of how he said it, the "be mine forever" was the important part. And Tadashi understood.

But most of what I'm referencing happened in the later episodes. Like I said, he was a subversion, which means that first he had to be slotted into the role before undoing it. Now I bring up The Langa Thing.

Langa was half-Canadian, and grew up in Canada. But when his father died, his mother took him back to Japan so she would have family around her in her grief. He ended up in Reki's class, and the two quickly became friends.

Reki taught Langa how to skate, but because Langa snowboarded since he was 2, he picked it up rather quickly, and even showed extreme talent. This extreme talent caught the eye of most of the skaters at S, and he earned the moniker "Snow". It also made the founder of S notice him. And that founder is Ainosuke Shindo, Adam.

Remember how I said he's trying to find his EVE? He thinks he wants an equal in skating, his only escape from his suffocating life, but he really wants Tadashi back. But he sees this genius in skating, and really is excited to skate with someone new. But he doesn't recognize it for just that, he thinks he found his "Eve". There's plenty of things he does, calling Langa "Langa-kun", being very excited to skate with Langa, giving him a bouquet of roses at one point (though one would argue that it's perfectly in line with his dramatics, hes essentially a drag king whose show is skateboarding).

All in all, there's a lot of suggestions he's attracted to Langa, but later episodes disprove that. There were other sketchy things (him saying to a middle schooler "I'll love you when you're older", but this was in reference to skateboarding, and by his definition of love, he means "yea you're too young for me to beat the crap out of you kid". Which is a perfectly normal sentiment, he just has an extremely weird way of saying it.) But... here's the thing.

There were weekly episodes.

Meaning: People pegged him as a "pedophile anime villain" type for months before his true nature was revealed. And when that evidence showed, people weren't inclined to believe it. People also thought he was Tadashi's abuser before the true nature of their relationship was revealed.

So, Adam isn't a pedophile. His relationship with Tadashi is rough, but Tadashi has full autonomy and chooses to be a part of it, and they're getting better. Adam is weird, sure, but he has reason to be that way. But the fandom lacks reading comprehension and hates to be proven wrong. So, people still think of him as a pedophilic abuser.

And like. I harken from ye olden days of Black Butler, okay. I'm not exactly put off by edenshippers (adam x langa). But for gods sake the show disproved it. Why are y'all acting like this.

So. Being known as an Adam fan is a one-way ticket to getting a bunch of harassment. Was back then, apparently still is now. I can't wait for season 2 to prove these assholes wrong.

See, it's unfair to say which one is my favorite because the characters are so fun and... it's Reki. Reki is my favorite. No, seriously though, this cast of characters was fun to watch.

Overall, about the ships, I see the appeal with each of them.

Reki/Langa is just too cute, they're my favorite ship. They're like... I don't when know how to put it in words about these two. They're just cute! They match so well with each other! Langa is the ice to Reki's sun!

Kojiro/Kaoru somehow gives me the vibes of a couple that broke up, tried to move on, but want to get back together because they're actually good together but they're both too stubborn to admit that and don't even know why they broke up in the first place. Their banter in the show always has me laughing and they also have real sweet moments that make me awe.

Adam/Tadashi... those two need to sit down and actually talk. There's layers there that need to be explore, deciphered and rearranged. Work out some things there and they'll be alright.

Now, he knows what your thinking. Langa should’ve just been a big boy and communicated his feelings to Reki. But, he didn’t want to make his best friend worry to death about him. What he wasn’t expecting were the repercussions of the secret being kept.

How did this all happen?

Reki had just watched Langa finally nail his trick. It took the new skater quite a few tries, and it was quite obvious that he was frustrated.

Regardless, the redhead threw his arms around his best friend excitedly, damn near jumping him onto the ground.

Langa grimaced at the contact, leading the other boy to instantly remove himself.

“Langa?” His eyebrows furrowed as a pout found its way to his lips.

“Don’t worry about it, Reki.” The blue-haired boy replied with a faint smile.

That was enough for Reki to enter overthinking mode. What did he do? Was someone hurting Langa? Was Langa hurt and didn’t want to tell him? Did Langa not like him anymore? What if? What if? What if?

“Sorry!” He chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck in a sudden meekness. “I just got a little excited, that’s all.”

“…Right.” Langa replied in a quiet monotone.

The redhead’s heart seized at the response. He fumbled his phone out of his pocket, opening any apps possible to feign getting a message.

“Oh man, mom needs me home. The twins got into the pantry and there’s applesauce all over the floor.” Reki sighed and faked a smile toward his best friend. “You know how babies can be eheh…”

“Don’t worry about it. Just let me know if everyone’s okay.”

“Right! I’ll let you know, see ya later!”

Reki’s should’ve known to actually going home. But, he didn’t know what else to do, so he went to see the person he knew would always have his back. He tried to keep his emotions in, but his mind was swimming, and he was quite honestly panicking.

With shaking hands, he pulled open the door to Sia La Luce. The restaurant was quite busy, given the time of the day. He was about to turn back around to deal with his emotions outside when he heard a voice over his shoulder.

“How many for- Reki? Why aren’t you in school?” Joe appeared from behind the kitchen, wiping his hands with a towel. “Reki?”

The redhead turned around, revealing the tears dripping down his cheeks, and the choked sobs he was barely managing to keep inside.

Joe’s gaze softened as he placed a reassuring hand on he boy’s shoulder. Reki closed his eyes and leaned into the contact, leading the older man to move his hand down to the small of his back.

The green-haired male observed the patrons in his restaurant, noticing that they were either finishing up their food, or hadn’t ordered yet. “I’m sorry to do this so suddenly, but I have a family emergency, and I need everyone to please leave.” Joe’s voice was calm, yet demanding, making the people realize he meant business.

Within five minutes, all of the patrons had left the building, leaving their bill money behind on the table. Joe turned to the crying boy and held both of his hands, “I’m right here, Reki. Take a minute, deep breaths.”

The younger male sniffled as he gasped in shallow breaths. His eyes were squeezed shut, tears leaking from them. He leaned forward quickly, letting his forehead collide with Joe’s chest. The older male didn’t hesitate to securely wrap the boy in a hug.

“Reki? What’s-“

“Langa ha-hates me.” the redhead choked, “He-He has to. He’s n-not himself.”

“I doubt he hates you.” Joe soothed, “Something must be up with him. I promise that everything is gonna be okay, okay?”

Reki sniffled and nodded as he leaned into the embrace. Joe whispered reassurances to him as he gently rubbed circles into the boy’s back. With his free hand, he took out his phone to text Kaoru a 911, only to hesitate with his thumb over the send button, noticing that the man had done the same.

Langa must’ve went to talk to him.

The two older men texted their plans, and within ten minutes all four of them were inside the restaurant. Reki hid his gaze from Langa, not wanting to piss his friend off.

“Okay, the two of you need to talk, right now.” Cherry noted, a secure hand on Langa’s shoulder.

“Reki I-“

“Langa I-“

The two spoke simultaneously, ceasing to let the other finish.

“Reki, talk.” Joe demanded.

“Langa I’m really sorry if I did anything to make you hate me I really don’t want to ruin our friendship and I’m just honestly really terrified of losing you because you’re one of my only friends and-“

“Reki.” Langa’s eyes were sympathetic, “Did I really scare you that badly? I’m so sorry!”

The redhead cocked his head as he blinked away threatening tears. “What does that mean?”

Langa sighed in remorse as he ran up to his friend, wrapping him in a hug. “When you jumped on me, you leaned on my bad shoulder. When I fell the time before landing it, I really messed up my shoulder. I didn’t want to tell you and make you worry, but now I see that I was wrong.”

Reki chuckled as he wiped his eyes “Did you really think that would work?”

“At first, yes. But now, no.” Langa couldn’t help but giggle too. “I’m really sorry, again. I should’ve just told you.”

“It’s okay. I’m just glad you don’t hate me or anything. From now on, no more secrets.”

“No more secrets.”

“How touching.” Cherry announced, “Have the two of you sorted things out? I’m not keen on keeping my shop abandoned this long.”

The two boys apologized as they looked at the ground.

“C’mon, Kaoru. I’m sure you have time to spare 15 minutes for a family emergency.” Joe teased.

“Family emergency…” the pink-haired male grumbled. He looked at the two boys and couldn’t help the smile that teased at his lips. “And what a wonderful family it is.”

1. Haikyuu — A Sage of Love and Legend; Loved this series so much!! The fact it has some of my favourite tropes plus fantasy au!? Sign me the fck up. I loved it so much, i like read it all within a couple days 😭. It also 100% inspired me to write my own haikyuu fic which is just sitting in my drafts since like 2020 💀 but definitely favourite story

2. Haikyuu — but for me, there is a storm; god such a beautiful fic. I love haikyuu and i love pacific rim. Together? BEAUTIFUL SHIT. Loved it so much, can only wish there was more.

3. My Hero Academia — A Study In Deceit; I love literally everything by mentallypapaya, my favourite mha fic on ao3. Their shit is the funniest ever and this is one of their amazing aizng works. Especially since it’s like a sort of au of Sherlock. Definitely one of my favs and i love every update it gets!!

4. My Hero Academia — blackugou widow; PEOPLE NEED TO DO MORE REINCARNATION FICS FOR ME. I adore this concept, the writing and everything about this! Espeically since it’s my favorite characters bakugou and natasha <3

5. The Witcher (all media types) — Rue and daisies, hand in hand; im such a sucker for jaskier angst. This is one of the many that i have saved in my bookmarks 🫶🏽

6. Kuroko’s Basketball — Kiseki no Sedai of Mahoutokoro; KNB AND HARRY POTTER? I love it, i love it. Can’t get enough.

7. Kuroko’s Basketball — Of Unlikely Friendships, Sneaky Bets, Shogi and Sake; I NEED MORE HANAMIYA AND KUROKO. They are my favourite duo. I want more of them together please

8. Kuroko’s Basketball — When Opposites Attract; Hanamiya and Kuroko. Need i say more? Plus the gom and kuroko angst? Even better.

9. SK8 the Infinity — Sanctuary Series; a sucker for found family and sk8 infinity fills that hole inside of me. This gives me exactly what i need

10. My Hero Academia — Ignite; i love this series, because i love bakugou, miruko and hawks interacting. My favorite trio, its always written so chaotic and I love it. Please i need more to saite me.

As for my username, i made it around the end of 2019? I was really, REALLY, into Haikyuu and Attack on Titan at the time. So i had my two favourite characters name together, Shoyo and Levi. Which is how i had the name, it’s stuck for the last few years. I did think of changing it but i love it lots.

Aw, thanks friend! Funny enough, I was thinking about making a personal post last night, so this works out perfectly!

I'm in the mood to talk about some of my WIPs and maybe give some sneak peeks at them. Perhaps, if you like what I have, I'll continue them. Some I'm on the fence about.

Here are some of my WIPs! I'm also including ideas I haven't written yet but want to write eventually. Let me know if any of these ideas strike a cord with you! I may get around to writing them! Rest is under a cut. This is long.

My weird JJK/SK8 the Infinity crossover: This one came about years ago after the onsen episode when Reki was terrified of ghosts. The cast reacted skeptically but as someone who believes in ghosts my first thought was "What if he can actually see them?" This then devolved into adding JJK into the mix as I was heavily watching/reading the series at the time.

The angle of this fic is,"Reki's family are barrier and protective ward experts that aren't fighters. Reki takes a very non-traditional approach to creating wards. He tries to keep that part of his life separate as he's not a full-blown sorcerer. That's not going to happen."

Here is a little bit of it.

"It smelled like rotting seaweed, congealing blood, and decomposing earth. Cold waffled off the curse, as though the curse was stuffed full of dry ice. White, almost see-through wisps danced along the concrete and curled around Reki’s shoes, penetrating the material of his worn sneakers and attacking his feet directly. White, almost see-through wisps danced along the concrete and curled around Reki’s shoes, penetrating the material of his worn sneakers and attacking his feet directly. Reki violently shivered.

The curse shifted, as though looking up at him. Reki froze and tripped off his skateboard. Tendrils of oozing, sharp panic filled his heart swiftly. His limbs stiffened, and cognitive reasoning began to halt sluggishly. The skin on his arms tingled and all the hair at the back of his neck stood up."

Rainy Day: A fic focusing on Lilia meeting and raising Silver. I have absolutely no idea where my end point is, but I've had this idea in my brain for months. A reason why it's on hold is because Book 7 is happening right now on the Japanese server and my fic will 100% accidentally contradict some canon.

Here is a snippet.

"The bright object quickly revealed itself as a white bundle of cloth as Lilia edged closer. Sighing internally, Lilia removed his hand from his sword. No doubt someone’s laundry had flown off the drying line the moment the storm started. A shame, but returning lost fabric wasn’t Lilia’s job.

Then, the fabric moved and Lilia nearly jumped out of his skin. A second later the cloth blew in the direction of the wind, revealing an infant human face and tuffs of hair so light it was almost as if moonlight had been spun and placed in their head."

Another Post SDR2 healing fic: Exactly what it says on the tin. I've been meaning to write another long "everyone is healing from despair" fic for SDR2 for years. Sadly, I've been stuck on the first bit for a while because I feel overwhelmed. I think the key to this one is to write in scenes rather than in a cohesive story.

Here is a bit of the story so far.

"The computer room, or as Souda loved calling it, the Pod People Room, was the coldest place on Jabberwock Island. A truly miraculous feat, if Hajime’s opinion was asked, given the stagnant temperatures of the island that never dropped and instead rose in intensity. Like any place located by the ocean, Jabberwock Island also boasted a healthy dose of humidity that hovered over them like a thick woollen blanket in a sauna. However, in the confined dark space of the computer room the heat remained outside, barricaded by a set of heavy metal doors. Along with the multiple computer screens, various keyboards, and creaky chairs (that Souda swore he’d fix) made it easy for someone to accidentally shift his body position to a hunch for several hours at a time."

Love at first stab attempt: A while ago I wrote a "Hajime and Nagito are both serial killers AU fic". I didn't address how they met. This fic was supposed to do that. However, I got busy and I haven't touched this fic in a while.

Here is a snippet.

"Instead, his brain firmly reminded him of the hours spent sitting cross legged on his plush blue rug in the living room, examining and arranging an array of chronologically arranged Polaroids. How many hours had Nagito sunk into reviewing and planning? How many nights had Nagito spent painfully awake staking out various locations? Sadly, Nagito could answer and it drove him to press onward in the summer heat.

The things he did for justice and self-satisfaction. The woes and turmoil of being a serial killer. Though, that label made Nagito’s brain itch. Not that he could find a better descriptor for himself. He’d tried but ultimately failed."

Honourable Mentions AKA I might expand on these ideas if I feel like it and people are interested.

Spirit Medium Hajime ft. Something is Rotten in the state of Jabberwock Island: Another story snippet I posted to AO3. I kept thinking how interesting it would be if Hajime was a legit shaman that could see spirits and eased them to the afterlife. However, because SDR2 is in the Neo World Program there are no ghosts, thus this tips Hajime off that something is wrong on the island.

The Awakening Trio and Anankos with a Siren Voice that calls to them because they drank his blood: Again, another snippet I posted to AO3. I've always wanted to write another Anankos/Trio fic, and I'm in love with the Trio being called out by Anankos. Very dramatic.

Shouichi drinks from a bottle to suppress his memories. Byakuran doesn't care so long as Shouichi is with him: Once more, here is the snippet of this idea I posted to AO3. I'm always here for "Shouichi with poor coping mechanisms because Byakuran."

Ideas I haven't written anything for yet but I will eventually

-Detective AU where the Trio or Leo/Odin/Niles can see spirits and that's why they can solve all crimes. They just ask the spirits lingering around the scene. @someobscurereference wrote this idea as my birthday gift, but there are so many fun angles to explore!

-Vil/Rook and the list of classmates they both want to high key kiss/sleep with together. It's essentially my excuse to write one of my favourite angles to their relationship "They're madly in love with one another but are secure enough to add a third party member to the mix once in a while".

-10051: A darker Shouichi who decides to use Byakuran's possessiveness to kill off "bad people" in the world. It's of course, a slippery slope to maintain and thus makes Shouichi very, very morally grey. Though, on the flip side, I think it's funny that Shouichi 100% has the power to pout and largely get what he wants from Byakuran.

-Bungou Stray Dogs: ADA Chuuya and Dazai. Yeah, it's a classic but I want to write another BSD fic and I love Soukoku.

-Something for the Bar AU. If you haven't read any of @m34gs Bar AU, I highly recommend it! It's essentially our massive crossover idea that boils down to "There is a dimension crossing bar and people from various fandoms meet one another there. They have no idea what's up with their respective fandoms. Usually." While so far it's mostly been written by M34GS, I've contributed so many ideas over the years that it's our series.

-Post series Buddy Daddies and them raising Miri: Is this a new fandom I'm seeing?? Maybe? I'm still very on the fence about this idea so no promises.

N – Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice):

This is tricky! I tend to just be like “Augh I wish there was more of that” and then forget all about it. I guess I’ll try thinking of things in the fandom and not in the canon material? Hm – tricky.

Black Butler fandom – I want more aroace William, or at least ace William, representation. I don’t want him shipped with Grelle, I want them being BFFs. *Pointing with judgement* Let them crack open a bottle of wine and/or whiskey by the fire after work and talk about nice, idle things, like their sonboy Ronald (who’s pawing at the babygate like the sad goldendoodle he is because he wasn’t allowed in due to his alcoholism).

Black Butler canon/fandom – I want Snake to speak for himself. Like, either in fanfiction or — more preferably — canon, where he at last breaks and, against the opinions of his snakes, goes “Fuck you, Ciel!” and then full stop. No “says Emily” or “exclaims Oscar”. Nothing. It’s meaningful. Poignant. You can tell that Snake is really hurt about having his found family lie to him so easily, to be betrayed by his second family after losing his first. This is Snake, even if it’s just for a moment, talking for himself. Poor Snake :(

Black Butler fandom – I want more creepypastas / grimdarks / etc.. Plain and simple, it’s meant to be a dark, perhaps horrific at times, franchise and so where are the creepy one shots? The “The Woman In Black” parodies? The subtly dark pieces where Ciel is stuck in an endless game of fleshy marionette for Sebastian’s own amusement? Where?

Bonus:

Sk8 the Infinity fandom/canon – I want more Adam-facing-consequences fics (and hopefully canon content in the upcoming season two), and Tadashi and Miya interaction, because those two look related and hardly interact in canon. I’ve only ever come across one (platonic) fic of them on AO3. One.

P – Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas):

Oh, this is tricky! I don’t think I think of many AUs? At the very least they’re fleeting and / for one shot purposes as opposed to a full-fledged universe? (Alternatively there’s also an idea I had of making a book of rarepair scraplets vaguely set in the same universe for the reader to piece together, like a one shot where Soma, Lizzie and Sieglinde are paired together “trying to get back to ‘x’” and Soma has to carry Sieglinde because her spider legs are broken and Wolfram is nowhere to be found.)

So seeing as you told me about your Snake/Edward / Sieglinde/Lizzie Friendship is Tragic-esque AU I’ll go ahead and state my Fallout Equestria-type one (why did I need brony comparisons for that?) that was kind of eluded to in this post (which is also kind of inspired by this post and its reblogs).

So in the post it was inspired by, I discussed if “shinigami and grim reapers” were different, and that “shinigami” were like “the original grim reapers” (don’t think of them like those things from Death Dote, but rather like The Exterminators from Hazbin) and that the redemption that the reapers work towards is actually fake, just a rumour used to keep them in line and then used as the excuse when reapers go “missing” (aka. the “Higher Up”, so to call them, of the original shinigami and/or older reapers that are in-the-know) to make way for newer reapers when Ole McLimboville becomes overcrowded (which it will as time progresses from the canon’s 1889 into modern day, as per real life suicide stats).

With my theory preluded, the AU would start off with Will’s “promotion/redemption” (#2 from (x)) (as it is known outwardly by the other reapers), but as the numbers begin to spike, a purge starts by the Higher Up / shinigami and Grelle and Ronald make it out after Grelle’s seen Othello die protecting her (a point which will later be paralleled when Grelle then does so for Ron), and go looking for the Undertaker, in case he knows what’s going on (after all, he and Othello are the same age-ish and Othello told them to find him).

I’d also thought about a possible, background Grelltaker flirtation, but that point can be ignored for now. I think if this is the case then Undertaker dies in front of Grelle rather than Othello, who, in this case, she just knows died? Also an point where Ron and Grelle begrudgingly take r!Ciel along with them (if he’s still alive / existing … he can be written out easily, though, I just remember him being a part of my original rough idea), and then it’s later just Ron looking after him after he and Grelle are separated (I’m still unsure whether a fakeout death is in order, or too cheesy to be worked into the plot well enough).

Essentially, it’s just Ronald then — as per his and Grelle’s plan after talking with the Undertaker — looking for a means to summon a demon (whether this will be Sebastian or not is undecided, though is the most likely because… why would I make an OC for something that isn’t TSoGtR? Really, now.) as to try and get an equal footing in the fight against the original shinigami (and the reapers in allegiance with them as part of the Higher Up’s council… as guides to the to-be ‘redeemed’, or even some of the redeemed themselves).

Perhaps there’s also a twisted element from the Higher Up like “You’re finally getting what you came here for/what you wanted, and yet you still fight it?”, when — on the reapers’ side of things — it’s actually because they want to avenge their friends for dying in massacre, so dishonourably (in some cases), and that they know that if they lose / give up, this will only go on and on, until it eventually happens again.

It’s an AU I definitely haven’t thought of in a while 😅 so trying to remember the better half of it was a bit of a struggle, but I enjoyed doing it! It’s a fun idea that I hope to revisit (though most probably will not, as I suck at action scenes / sequences / drama, so it would most likely turn out slow, and corny when it picks up pace, with plenty of emotional moments and monologues but not enough action/fighting).

here r my guys !!! im tired so this won't be Super in depth but uh yeah :D

yuki - a major part of his character development is learning to be his own person and realizing that his mom doesn't have any power over him. specifically there's a scene where he's talking to her and he says something along the lines of "my end result might not be something you approve of but i want it to be something i'm proud of" and that. inspired me SO FUCKING MUCH. i think about it all the time. he gives me so much courage but i can also really relate to his character before all that development, where he feels detached from his peers because he was isolated from a young age and always wanted friends but was always afraid the people around him hated him

kunikida - the pure rage this man goes through every time something doesn't go exactly according to plan speaks to me. he is perfectionist anger issues personified. also very much relate to his struggle of trying to get dazai to pay fucking attention to their jobs bc trying to wrangle people to stay on task is something that drives me So Fucking Insane. hes just a relatable boy ok.

tome - very obsessed with something that nobody else really cares about, and even the people close to her who Seem to care about it don't really even listen to her infodumping and genuine love for what she does. there's also a scene during the alien arc where they're about to go try to contact the aliens and she says she doesn't want to, because this is her last chance for it to ever happen and if it doesn't work it means she's been lying to herself this whole time and AUGH. that speaks to me. a lot of times i've tried something new to cure my Illness and it doesn't work and i understand so well the feeling of just wanting to give up even though you have a possible solution, because if the solution doesn't work then you just don't have anything left

natsume - this one is mostly just vibes but i think his personality and terrified to make friends attitude are very me coded

tachihara - my family is extremely conservative while most of my friends and extended family are liberal. i often feel like i'm playing spy or infiltrating one group or the other and i never feel like i really fit in either bc i don't want to betray my parents even though our ideals naturally dont coexist and this is something i struggle with and feel conflicted about a lot etc etc
