#I'm just so worried I'll disappoint people forever

You know what the worst feeling I've been having lately is? Wanting more than anything to get back into Actual Art again but finding a sudden anxiety that stops me. Even if I'm still as capable as I was, it's the mental block. It's why I've all but kept commissions closed for this whole time: this overwhelming fear of letting people down. Especially in times as troubled as these, where money is tight, and patience is thin. I've always been blessed with such patient and considerate commissioners, but I would hate to test people because of my malfunctioning brat of a brain.
I just wish it came to me as easily as it did before the massive burnout/medication. But it's up to me to come up with my own motivation. And it's ME.
Anyway. Thanks as always for sticking around despite... all of this. I'll get back on the horse soon.

So, I experienced some deju vu during this scene in Trolls Band Together:
Tumblr media
John Dory grabs his backpack, says he's leaving (I'm done, YOLO, etc.), and then the last thing he says is "Goodbye Forever!", followed by Branch's distraught face, and the next thing Branch knows, all his brothers have left him and he never sees them again.
I was trying to figure out why that little snippet stuck with me, then it hit me:
Trolls Holiday in Harmony, when Branch is trying to figure out a gift for Poppy. He's worried about doing the wrong thing, disappointing her or freaking her out, and says "I CAN'T let that happen". He illustrates his point with Poppy packing a suitcase, and what does she say right before she runs off?
Tumblr media
Really brings his abandonment issues into the light😢
I've seen a few comments of people being annoyed when Branch said to Poppy "aren't you going to leave me anyway", but they clearly don't understand how trauma affects people's mental and emotional state.
He knows Poppy loves him and doesn't actually believe she'd leave, but after a lifetime of being alone, even though he's happy and loved now, there's still that subconscious fear that he'll end up alone again. Poppy means everything to him, and he can't bear the thought of losing her too, especially as a result of something he's done (his grandma died to save him, and he believed his brothers leaving was his fault because he 'ruined everything' at the concert).
Sometimes this results in Branch trying to push Poppy away, which seems conflicting, yes, but again: trauma messes with your mind. He was already heartbroken and angry at his brothers, so he wasn't thinking clearly and blurted out his hidden main fear.
And when he says "everyone else [leaves me]" I hear "everyone in my life has left me so I must deserve to be alone, so you might as well leave me too."
And that's probably why Branch was so hesitant to be open with Poppy - 1. I might scare her away, and 2. why bother expressing my feelings to someone when I'll likely just lose them anyway. Plus he's still getting used to having someone to confide to in his life. Keeping emotions bottled up for years is a hard habit to get out of.

Skz think your skirt is too short. | Bangchan, Felix, Hyunjin and Changbin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n: currently accepting preference/blurb requests for stray kids (NSFW included)
💖🌷Bang Chan:
The moment he sees you slip from the room he stands just a little bit taller. Eyes roaming over those legs, bare and soft. Your skin is forever tattooed in the pads of his fingers which he feels twitch, wanting to feel the soft ribbons of your skin.
The skirt was cute, it's flowy and matches the color of your white socks. Without even realizing he's grouping the back of your thigh, pushing you close until you're cuddled into his chest.
He presses a gentle kiss to your head but just like that a light goes off. Full protective mode is on. The brunette's hands clasp at your shoulders and pull you away to take one more look. If he's thinking this so will other guys.
"Babygirl," He starts softly, "You look so so cute and I love it but isn't is a little short?"
"But Babe," You whine, pouting and meeting his eyes. "It's not that short."
Chan scoffs, raising his eyes brows. "Yeah? Bend over, love, we'll test it."
Crossing your arms against your chest and not caring to move a muscle to challenge him. Not wanting to fall into exactly what he wants; for you to change.
"I want to wear it." Chan huffs, rolling his eyes but you know it's a facade, he can never be made at you. He pulls his hoodie off and over, messing his hair in the process but he still looked so cute as he wrapped the sleeves around your waist.
He doesn't move once it's tied; instead simply presses a kiss to your forehead. "What my baby wants she gets."
💖🌷 Felix:
The restaurant is rather crowded, he's skimming past the tables, looking around to find you. He is rather busy but promised he would make a quick trip to meet your friends. The relationship is fairly new, however, meeting the people who mean the most to you is important to him.
What he doesn't expect is you sandwiched between two guys. Well, that's dramatic, seated in SEPARATE chairs between two men. One of them has his arm resting on the back of your chair as he brings his phone closer to show you something.
As he walks closer he can't help but look at your legs, bare but crossed, causing your skirt to ride up more. No doubt the man next to you is getting an eye full. Felix pulls at his jacket, sleeve by sleeve and clears his throat; directly behind you.
Before you can even realize it's him he lays the jacket over your legs, pressing a kiss to your cheek. "Hi baby."
"Hi everyone." He bows politely. "I'm Felix."
The night went pretty well, they all seemed impressed. One of the men gave their seat up for him. During conversation he leans forward to whisper into your ear, "Your skirt is a little short, yeah?"
He watches as your nose scrunches, Felix was never protective like this before. Besides who is he to tell you? "Excuse me?"
He seems to have noticed the change, "Not like that baby, you look so pretty. I mean you keep pulling it down and moving. Just uncomfortable?"
Oh sweet little Felix, it makes you pout slightly and apologize, "I'm sorry Lix, I thought you meant something else."
"No worries, love, we can go back to mine. I'll give you some of my sweats to wear. Get my angel nice and cozy." He reaches and pinches the skin of your cheek affectionately but his hand drops once realizing the whole table is staring at you both. He clears his throat, turning as red as you in embarrassment.
💖🌷Hyunjin:
"No," Hyunjin says a little too quickly for your liking the moment you step out of the room. A frown forms on your lips showing your own disappointment.
"But I think it's cute and matches so well."
"No." His brows scrunch together, as his long finger nudges you gently to turn. The moment you do he's repeating himself, "Absolutely not."
"Baby.." you get but he's not having it.
"Too short. If you were going with me then yes, not out with your friends."
"Why not?"
"There's a lot of creeps out there, I don't want anyone thinking they will get a peak." His hand meets the small of your back, gently guiding you to the bedroom. "A little longer, petal."
"Hyunjin, I will look out for myself."
"Please, just change?" His face is only inches from your own, lips forming a soft pout. You're about to tell him no but those damn puppy eyes make you sigh.
"Fine but I'm mad at you." He presses a gentle kiss to your forehead.
"We can go out to dinner tomorrow and you can wear it, promise, flower."
💖🌷 Changbin:
"Baby," He pouts softly watching as you apply mascara. On your tippy toes, reaching over the bathroom sink to see which makes your skirt rise up just enough to see the bottom of your underwear. "You can't go out like this, it's too short."
Changbin comes behind you, both hands on either sides of the counter, boxing you in. He's so big he takes up most of the space but you just continue to apply your makeup. "Honey, I said it's too short." He whispers against your skin before softening his words with a kiss at the shell of your ear.
"It's fine, Bin."
"Nooo." He practically whines, "You look too good, everyone is going to be staring at you."
"No one is going to be looking at me."
"What if you need to bend down? Everyone is going to see your panties and cute little butt, it's mine." He makes you laugh as you turn around wrapping your arms around his neck.
"Do you want to come with us?"
You watch his eyes light up, you want him to come to dinner with your friends?
"Wait, really babe?"
"Mhmm, of course you're always invited." Before you know it he's scrambling to get dressed but not before throwing a pair of stalkings your way.
"Sorry baby, it's so short. For my peace of mind."

always and forever ~ charles leclerc
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Charles have always been there for each other, and you will continue to do so always and forever.
Words: 1.7k+
Other works: my masterlist
♡♡♡♡♡
It had always been the two of you.
You had known each other since you were kids, starting as best friends and then evolving into a beautiful couple that stuck with each other through everything.
You were always there to cheer him up and make him feel better after bad races, he was always there when the hate from the fans was too much for you. You were a rock to each other.
Charles has had a bad year. Ferrari was doing worse than ever, he couldn't win races because of the car, people were putting pressure on him to perform and he just felt like he couldn't do it anymore without breaking down.
He's had his fair load of bad strategies, long pit stops, feeling like the team didn't support him and prioritized Carlos instead of him, overall just doing him dirty all year long.
It was now time for the last race of the season, Abu Dhabi.
Like always, you were right next to your boyfriend, having taken time off work to make sure you could be there with him for the entire weekend.
You were currently in your hotel room, getting ready to go with Charles to the paddock ahead of qualifying that afternoon.
"I don't want to go" Charles said while he watched you do your hair, his heart swelling when he saw you wearing a Ferrari shirt with his name and number on the back.
"Why not? You love Abu Dhabi" you frowned in confusion, just now seeing how truly miserable he looked.
"I know how things will play out, so I don't even see the point of racing when I just now I'll disappoint everyone yet again" he shrugged, looking at his feet and playing with his fingers.
You put down the hair straightener that you were holding and stepped closer to him, taking his face in your hands and making him have no choice but to look at you.
"Mon amour, I know you've had a tough year, and nobody is blaming you for your results. Everyone sees that Ferrari is letting you down and they know you are doing the best you can with what you have. Stop worrying about what people are going to say and just go out there and do what you love the most. Race, have fun. Screw the results, I'm going to be proud of you no matter what place you end up on. But just go and have fun one last time this year and we'll come back stronger next year" by the time you finished speaking, Charles was biting his lip and a tear was threatening to spill from his eye.
"I love you so much, you know that?" he whispered and chuckled, his voice cracking at the end.
"I love you too, and I'm so proud of you, baby" you whispered before leaning in and capturing your lips in a passionate kiss.
Charles wrapped his arms tightly around your waist, pulling your body flush against his, wanting to be as close to you as humanly possible.
You were holding him just as tightly, your arms securely wrapped around his neck while one hand played with the small hairs at the back of his neck.
"Ready?" you asked once you pulled away, outstretching your hand towards him with an encouraging smile.
He nodded and took your hand, placing a kiss on the back of it.
"Let's go"
♡♡♡♡♡
The Ferrari garage was buzzing.
Engineers were running around, Charles and Carlos were deep into a conversation, Frederic was trying to keep everyone under control and you were just hanging around with Arthur, Charles' brother, shaking your head at the chaos that was the red Italian team.
"It's amazing hos disorganized they've been the entire year" Arthur quietly said into your ear, making sure nobody from the team could hear him.
"I know, it took a huge toll on Charles. He didn't even want to come today, it took me half an hour to persuade him to just go race and have some fun" you said, your eyes finding Charles every now and then.
He seemed a little calmer than he was back at your hotel while talking to Carlos, knowing that he enjoyed the Spaniard's company and honestly valued their friendship outside the track.
"I wonder if he'll stay at Ferrari next year" Arthur wondered, now also looking at his brother.
"You know he's still under contract, he wouldn't just leave them like that after 5 years" you explained, but on the inside you wished he would do just that.
Charles was one of the best drivers on the grid, everyone knew that. A lot of teams would love to have him in their line-up, including Red Bull and McLaren. You've spoken to Charles about potential offers and what he thought his future looked like, but you knew he would say loyal to Ferrari until the end of his contract.
"I know, but maybe he'll change his mind once the next season is done if Ferrari don't get a grip and improve, you know" Arthur explained, and you nodded.
"I hope so. We've talked about it, but he said he didn't want to think about that just yet" you said, dropping the subject once you saw your boyfriend making his way over to the two of you.
"What are you two plotting?" he teased, hugging Arthur before wrapping an arm around your waist and kissing your cheek.
"Nothing you should know" Arthur said, winking at the both of you before leaving to give you a moment before the start of the race.
You turned to Charles, studying his face.
"How are you feeling?" you asked quietly, taking a hold of his hands.
"I'm fine. I'm just going to go out there and drive the best I can, like I always do. Have some fun, just like you said. Have to listen to the wifey, right?" he smiled teasingly, the nickname making you blush heavily.
Charles had recently started calling you his "wifey" after having been together for 3 years. You often talked about the future and knew that you both wanted to spend the rest of your lives together and would take the next step when you both felt ready.
But what you didn't know was that the day might come sooner than you thought.
♡♡♡♡♡
Contrary to what everyone was expecting, Charles had managed to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He drove so well, like his life depended on it and you couldn't have been more proud of him.
When it was time for the podium celebrations, you couldn't take your eyes off him as he received his much-wanted trophy, holding it up in the air and blowing you a kiss once he found you in the huge crowd.
Before the champagne shower could start, however, Charles asked for a microphone, putting his trophy down and looking nervously at Max and Lando, the teammates he shared the podium with.
"Wow. I can't believe we did it. We had a tough year at Ferrari this season, not being quite where we wanted, but we ended the season on a high note and I want to thank every single member of the team that made this all possible" he said, putting the mic down to give a round of applause for everyone.
You followed suit, your eyes never leaving him.
"Secondly, I want to thank a special person, but I need her up here with me. Y/N, will you come up here, please?" he asked, the lights suddenly finding you in the crowd.
Your eyes widened, a heavy blush coating your cheeks. Charles' PR manager found you in the crowd and helped lead you upstairs towards the podium, giving you a silent encouragement before she let you step out.
The crowd was cheering when they say you standing next to your boyfriend, prompting you to give them a small wave before turning to Charles.
"Y/N, there aren't enough that can express how much I love you and how deeply grateful I am to have you in my life. You've been with me throughout this entire journey, 4 years now already you've put up with me. You know me better than I know myself, you always know what to say and how to make me feel better after a bad race, you're always there for me, cheering me on and supporting me through everything and I can't thank you enough for it all" he spoke, putting his hand in his pocket and taking out a small, velvet box.
Your eyes instantly widened and filled with tears, knowing what was about to happen. Your hands went up to your mouth, not believing it was finally happening.
"I never want to know what my life would look like without you in it because I plan on spending every second left of it cherishing you and being by your side. So, Y/N Y/L/N, will you make me the happiest man on Earth and marry me?" opening the box, you saw the most beautiful diamond ring you had ever laid your eyes on, making your tears freely swim down your cheeks.
You didn't trust your voice, so you nodded your head feverishly, falling to your knees in front of him and collapsing into his arms, holding on for dear life.
You cried into his shoulder, holding onto each other tightly. The crowd erupted into loud cheers, Max and Lando opening the champagnes and spraying everyone around them, congratulating the two of you.
You pulled away from the hug and kissed Charles, pouring every single emotion you felt in that moment into the kiss.
"Do you want the ring?" his tone was teasing once you pulled away and he still held the ring in his hand.
You laughed, nodding and extending your hand towards him.
He took out the ring and gently pushed it onto your ring finger, it fitting like it was made just for you.
"I love you so much, amour. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my days with you" you whispered, bringing him in for another hug.
"I promised you always and forever, I intend to keep that promise"
And as you stood kneeling in the middle of the podium, celebrations taking place all around you, the only thing you focused on was each other, nothing able to burst your little bubble of bliss.
Your always and forever love.

Chapter 40 of human Bill Cipher, in spite of his fondest hopes, still being stuck in the Mystery Shack:
As much as Gideon wants out of the evil magic game, the survival of his father's used car dealership rides on Gideon's help.
And, relatedly, Bill's started receiving psychic car commercials.

1981
Ford had been in his study for what felt like forever, staring at the pile of papers and numbers on his desk, trying to stop the figures from shifting and swimming before his eyes; when something from behind him lit up the dim room with golden light and he a heard a familiar voice behind his shoulder—
"Heeey, Stanford! You've been having a lot of dreams about tax forms lately, what gives?"
Ford was startled out of his thoughts. He turned around, smiling in relief. "Oh, Bill! Hello." Apparently he was dreaming. Thank goodness. It explained why he couldn't seem to get these forms to make sense. "How long have you been watching me?"
"About twenty years."
"What?"
"About twenty minutes," Bill said. "I wasn't going to bug you tonight, but usually your dreams are a little more adventurous! You're starting to worry me, kid." He disintegrated the tax forms with a gesture and floated down to sit on Ford's desk, like a razor-thin glowing paperweight. It was strange to see him cross his legs. "What's on your subconscious?"
Ford hadn't thought his Muse cared that much about his day-to-day human troubles. It was comforting to know someone was worrying about him—someone so far beyond human potential that maybe Ford didn't have to worry he'd be disappointed to learn Ford was struggling a little. "It's my grant money," he sighed. "I feel like my research into Gravity Falls is nowhere near completion, but that money will only last for so long. It won't be long before I'll need to ask for more funding, and I'll have a hard time convincing anyone if I don't have anything to show for it, but I don't want to share incomplete research..."
"Ah, money. The second-worst curse human society's ever inflicted on itself."
"What's the worst one?"
"Marriage."
Ford barked a laugh. It wasn't even that funny a joke; it was just such unexpectedly human cynicism for such an otherworldly entity. It sounded like a joke Ford's dad would make.
"Well, money. What to do..." Bill drummed his fingers on Ford's desk, gazing off into the distance as he thought. Ford realized that, at some point while he was distracted, most of his study had vanished, leaving his desk and chair sitting precariously atop a faint gridded plane in the starry blue void where he usually met Bill. Finally, Bill said, "Have you considered buying gold?"
He hadn't. "Will it help?"
"Sure it will! Eventually!"
"In time to help pay my mortgage?"
"Hmm." Bill thought a moment longer, then snapped his fingers. "Got an idea." He floated off of Ford's desk to eye level, strange sigils appearing in white-blue light around him. "Do you happen to know where the people who decide your funding live?"
"Er... the general area." It had to be near the Backupsmore campus, didn't it?
"Then I might be able to help you!" The symbols solidified around Bill. "I know a little spell to help persuade people. It'll let you plant ideas in their dreams—give 'em a little subliminal nudge. It could make some bigwigs come around on the importance of the research you're doing out here."
A fascinating concept. Ford studied the sigils greedily. He didn't recognize them, but they looked fairly simple. "You're not... talking about mind control?"
"Nah, that's not in my wheelhouse. It'll just let you... talk to them! Like I talk to you! I'm not controlling you, am I?" His eye curved up in a facsimile of a smile. "But you'll find most people have a harder time ignoring you when you're talking to them inside their own heads. What they do with that when they wake up is up to them. Just think of it as a way to schedule an interview where you'll have their undivided attention."
Ford pressed his lips together as he thought; then shook his head. "Thank you, Bill, but no. I wouldn't feel right earning money that way. I'd rather know they were impressed by the scientific and historical value of my work—and if I use magic, I'll never know for sure if they really thought my work measured up."
Bill laughed. "That's what I like about you, Stanford! You really shoot for the stars—and you've got the work ethic to get there! You don't want the fame and fortune unless you earn it!"
Ford was momentarily taken aback. It was rare that his muse openly complimented him; on most nights he dealt with Ford with a sort of cool, detached fondness, something a little too distant to be real affection. When he did voice his approval, it was like the sun coming out after a month of cloud cover. There were nights, when Ford was really feeling his isolation in these woods and he'd half convinced himself all his years of research had been a waste of time, when he was half willing to chase that sunshine to the ends of the earth.
"You'll do whatever it takes to finish your research, won't you?" Bill asked.
Ford gave Bill an awkward, self-conscious smile. "Of course I will. How could I not?"
"Hey, not everyone has your ambition! Most people take the easy way to the top. Cheating, copying, riding on greater men's coattails... Some guys earn the dough to buy their gold, others just want to dig for someone else's." Bill spread his hands in a shrug. "Well, it was an idea." The sigils started to fade.
Ford raised a hand. "Hold on. I don't want to use it, but... do you think I could learn that spell anyway?" He smiled hopefully. "For research?"
"For fun?"
"For fun."
Bill laughed. "I was waiting for you to ask!" The sigils reappeared, and next to them appeared an incantation. "All right, I'll walk you through it. Pay attention, I don't think you've got enough time to go over it twice this REM cycle."
Ford nodded, focusing fully on Bill, determined to remember the spell well enough to record it in Journal 2 when he woke up.
####
Spring, 2013
Tentatively, Bud Gleeful said, "Son... now, I know you lost that spooky grimoire of yours. But... don't you have anything left that might help out the dealership?"
Gideon growled in irritation. "I told you, father! Everything I knew was in Journal 2! It's gone! Anyway, I'm just trying to be a normal kid now. I don't want to get mixed up in any more magic. I'm through with it."
"I understand," Bud said, nodding. "And I think that's mighty admirable of you, turning over a new leaf like that. Shows real maturity." He hesitated, wringing his hands together. He pre-emptively winced and said, "But it's just that... business hasn't exactly been booming, ever since your little tenure as Bill's sheriff. And you know I love the fellas you made friends with in the penitentiary, they're all such... colorful characters; but having them hang around does make folks a little wary to drive into the parking lot..."
Volume doubling, Gideon snapped, "Are you saying it's my fault?!"
"No, son, no. You know I'd never." Bud knelt down, and—cautiously, like he was trying to pet a feral cat—put a hand on Gideon's shoulder. "But, well... business is slumping, that's all. We'll be fine as long as we live within our means, don't you worry about that—but our means might not cover luxuries like those fancy suits and fine new boots you like so much, you understand."
Gideon lowered his gaze, tugging self-consciously on the sleeve of his favorite suit jacket. It was already just a little too short to be fashionable; he probably didn't have long until he outgrew it completely.
"Your mother and I are doing all we can," Bud said. "If there's anything you can do... well, you don't have to, of course. But—it'd be a mighty big help."
Gideon grit his teeth, glaring at his feet. (How long until he outgrew all his shoes? He had a growth spurt coming "any day now," he'd been told. The prospect didn't excite him.) He balled his hands into fists; and then muttered, "There... might be one spell I remember... the sigils were pretty simple..."
####
June 2013
Bill could see it in his mind's eye: if he kept pushing and pushing eventually there'd be no more room in two dimensional space for his mother to fill, and then she'd be forced to bend UP, up into the third dimension, all that open free space. Then she'd see the dark, she'd see the far points of light—
"STOP!" His mother howled in pain. He kept pushing. She was out of room. She didn't bend up. He shoved—and she splintered. Bone snapping, cartilage tearing, he could see inside her thin body as things broke and ruptured. He didn't know what to do.
And for several long, long seconds—he couldn't remember what was happening. The world seemed to bend wrong, and he couldn't remember.
At least, he couldn't have remembered a few weeks ago. He hadn't wanted to. But he'd been studying a book on lucid dreaming since then; and the first things it taught was how to remember more of his dreams. And now, he recalled exactly what happened next when he pushed his mother and she splintered and ruptured:
He pushed harder.
Her skin fractured and peeled off, strand after strand. It filled the spaces between his fingertips, wrapped up his arms. He could shut his eye but he still saw it through his eyelid, still felt it tickling at the corners of his mouth.
"You want me to tell everyone the third dimension's full of dead shapes?! Huh?!" All he could see was blood and bone and peeling skin. "Then why don't you go find them for me!" He let out an angry, hysterical, broken laugh.
Her hand grabbed weakly at his.
He let go and jolted back, gasping—and almost retched. What had he done? He hadn't meant to. But he'd kept pushing—but it was too late by then. It was too late by then, wasn't it?
"What have you done?"
Bill whirled around to face— "Dad?"
The green trapezoid looked as sick as Bill felt, eye darting in horror across the crumpled line in the corner. He couldn't even see most of it from where he was—his eye didn't work like Bill's, he couldn't look through the mess of skin to the gore beneath.
"It was an accident," Bill whispered. (He'd kept pushing.) "It really was, I promise."
His father tore his eye from the corpse to Bill's face. "What are we going to tell your followers?"
Bill looked past his father. Through a wall so thin Bill almost couldn't see it, hundreds upon hundreds of shapes were settled, waiting—to see him. He was sure: somehow, somehow, they could see him too. They knew what he'd done. His life was over.
A thunderous voice boomed, "Whooee, what a fix! Boy, you look like you could use a getaway car, couldn't you?"
Bill blinked. He blinked again. He looked up-but-not-north.
A human in a pink Hawaiian shirt, standing on top of the universe, looked down at him.
Bill said, "What."
"Here, let me just—getcha right—" The human plunged his hand through the second dimension, scooped beneath Bill, and popped him right up off the surface of the universe. "Now, if you'll pardon my saying so, you look like you could use a little help getting somewhere far, far away from here!"
Bill stared at him. "What."
"And I've got just the thing to help you!" the human declared. "Aren't you feeling stuck? Trapped? Just can't take your obligations anymore? Miserable you can't hit the road and see all of—well—" he gestured vaguely out at the flat surface of the universe stretching into the distance "—whatever this is? Then you need to visit your buddy Bud Gleeful—(that's me)—at Gleeful's Auto Sales, the finest used car dealership in Roadkill County! We'll get you a set of wheels that'll carry you on the cross-country police-evading tour of your dreams!" He dropped his voice and murmured to Bill from behind his hand, "Warranty expires at the state line."
"What." Bill looked down at the universe—and was disappointed but not surprised to see he wasn't a triangle anymore, but a human. He looked at Bud again. "Are you advertising to me. Is this an advertisement. Am I getting advertised to in my sleep."
"And if you sign before you leave, we'll throw in a free air freshener," Bud added.
Bill stared at him in horrified amazement. "I am going to kill you," he said. "And then I'm going to wake up and kill you in real life."
"Ah, well. That's a right shame."

Bill shot straight up with a roar of rage. "Oh, when I get my hands on...!"
"Whoa. Bad dream?"
Bill whirled around with a murderous glare. Dipper's spirit, ghastly and pale, was hovering in the middle of the attic. Bill snapped, "You're a bad dream!" He scrambled after the spirit.
"Whoa! Hey!" Dipper tried to swoop away from Bill toward the stairs.
Bill caught him by the back of the neck. "You are going back in your bo—bed, you're getting in, and you're not getting back out."
"Ow, let go!" Dipper squirmed in Bill's grip, kicking his feet in the air. "I was just going to turn off the TV! I heard it playing an advertisement, I think that's what put me in... you know." He gestured at himself. "The sleepwalking dream."
Bill hesitated in front of the kids' door. "What advertisement?"
"I don't know, it was too far away to tell. But I know it was an advertisement, it sounded... advertise-y."
"Hmm." Bill considered that. And then he flung Dipper's soul through the door.
"HEY!"
"I'll turn off the TV," Bill said. "Go back to sleep!"
Ugh. Everything ached, his stomach was trying to turn itself inside out in an attempt to escape and go forage for food independently, and the world held a vindictive grudge against Bill personally. He trudged downstairs, muttering crabbily to himself.
He wasn't surprised to discover the TV was off.
####
"I'm conducting a survey," Bill said. "Did you hear any advertisements from the TV last night? Maybe have any dreams that might have been influenced by hearing an ad?"
"Uh..." Soos slowed at the bottom of the stairs as he thought. "Nope. Slept like a baby all night."
"Interesting." He waved at Melody to try to catch her attention. "Hey, how about you?"
"Nope!" Already dressed for work, she hurried from the stairs to the living room without even glancing Bill's way. She tended not to linger when he was nearby. He told himself he was flattered.
"Dude," Soos said, "What happened to your arm?"
Bill looked down. On the underside of his forearm were two thick lines set at an angle, burned so dark brown they were nearly black. "Leaned on the stove after someone used the burner. Oops."
"Do you need...?"
"Don't worry about it, it's already healing." Bill rolled down his hoodie's sleeves as he leaned into the kitchen, "How 'bout you, Stan? Hear any phantom ads last night?"
"Nuh-uh. But I sleep with my hearing aids out," Stan said. "The only things loud and grating enough to wake me are a car horn or your voice."
"Ha!" Bill looked from Stan's side of the table to Ford's—and Ford wasn't facing him, but he was glancing from the corner of his eye toward Bill's arms.
Bill turned away without asking anything. No point. Obviously, Ford had been too far underground to have picked up anything. Bill told himself Ford was seething at getting the cold shoulder.
"What're we talking about?" Mabel asked, coming downstairs with Dipper close behind.
Bill looked at her—and then let his gaze sweep past her with the same cold disinterest he'd favored Ford with. He brushed past her to head upstairs. "Hey, somnambulist." He shoved Dipper's hat down over his eyes as he passed. "TV was off. No one else heard anything. You dreamed your stupid ad."
"Hey." Dipper pulled his hat back up. "Jerk."
Mabel called, "Bill?"
He ignored her and kept walking.
####
"What was that all about?"
Bill was curled up in the attic window seat, flipping covetously through an issue of Gold Chains For Old Men; at the sound of Mabel's irritated voice, he merely said, "Oh, hello." He turned another page. "Here to try to make a fool of me some more?"
She planted her hands on her hips. "Bill, what are you talking about?"
"Tell me about those 'Mysteries' of yours. Did you plan your story any deeper than that? Were you going to arrange for me to catch you with a cloak and dagger just to make me wonder?"
Mabel paused. "Oh." She laughed weakly.
"So how many people were in on it, huh? Was it just you and Stanford, or did you have the whole house laughing at me behind my back?"
"It—it was just us two." She leaned on the wall by Bill's feet. "Um, so... are you actually mad?"
He shot her a venomous look, then lifted his magazine so he couldn't see her any more.
"Come on!" She poked his knee. "It was a harmless prank! And you lie to everyone all the time."
"No I don't."
"You're so sensitive."
"I am not," Bill said indignantly. "I'm proud. I have pride. And lately pride's about the only thing I have going for me. And I didn't think a friend would try to undermine it."
Mabel heaved a sigh. "Okay, all right. Sorry."
Bill lowered his magazine to peer at her skeptically. "Are you really?"
"Well, yeah." She leaned against the window seat. "It was just a joke, I don't wanna hurt your feelings."
He stared her down a moment longer, assessing her sincerity. And then he sat up and pulled her into a hug.
She squawked in surprise, but returned the embrace. "Bill! What—?"
"You're sweet, you know that, star girl?" He gave her one last squeeze and let her go. "When you aren't trying to make me look dumb. But you don't rub salt in the wounds, that's what matters."
"Pfff. I kinda think you'd try to kill me if I did."
"Mmyeah, I might." He wouldn't. Only person in this entire dull rotten world who was willing to apologize for wronging him. He wasn't giving her up easily. "Hey—did you happen to hear any commercials last night? Maybe have any dreams that might've been caused by one?"
"Nope! I had a dream about cats fighting a war against an octopus."
"Oh, that one. Did the octopus win or did the lions show up in time?"
Mabel paused. "It's always creepy when you do that. But the octopus won this time."
"Aww. That poor picturesque beach town."
"I tried to get between the octopus and the town when the cats failed."
"Did you stop it?"
Mabel shrugged. "Dunno. I woke up before it reached me."
"Too bad! But hey—you've been making big progress with your lucid dreaming. You'll get it next time!" No salesmen offering cars as war chariots for the cats, though. It was almost a pity. Bill would've liked to hear about Bud getting eaten by a giant octopus.
"So I guess Dipper was the only one who thought he heard a commercial."
Dipper and Bill. "Guess so."
####
The large, empty floor room, down the main hallway at the far end of the house, was among the few places Bill was allowed to go. Except when the humans had some big event like a dance or a museum exhibit planned, there was nothing in it but a flat old sofa, a fireplace he couldn't turn on, and Soos's electric piano taunting him. In spite of its relative isolation from the rest of the household, Bill rarely had reason to visit it.
But when he wanted space to pace and think, there was no better room.
Last night's advertisement was magic, no doubt. And he suspected he knew the exact spell. The Mystery Shack was way on the outskirts of Gravity Falls; probably nobody else here was affected because they were just out of range of the signal. The only reason Dipper had nearly picked it up was because he didn't have his thick skull in the way when his spirit was out of his body.
But Bill's psychic abilities had been heavily suppressed since he was put in this body. How was he channeling the signal so much more clearly than anyone else?
He thoughtfully ran his tongue over his new golden tooth. "Hmm."
####
Bud entered the Gleeful house flipping through a pile of mail. "Junk, junk, bills, junk... Here's your subscription, honeybunch." He held out an issue of Nervous Wrecks Weekly magazine. His wife paused her cycle of polishing the front window to stiffly take it.
"Junk, coupons... Gideon! You've got a fan letter!" He checked for a stamp indicating the tiny envelope had passed through a state correctional facility. "And it isn't even from the prison, isn't that nice!"
"Coming!" Gideon ran out of his room, snatched the letter from Bud's hand with a little grunt, ran back to his room giggling, and slammed the door.
Bud chuckled. "Joy, sweetie, you remember when that boy got so much fanmail he used to throw it out? These days he's excited for every single letter." The corners of his mouth turned down. "Suppose it's good for him, learning to appreciate the little things."
"Mhm." She looked down at the roses outside the window. She'd need to trim those soon. "I suppose it is."
In his room, Gideon studied the odd envelope. It was tiny—barely large enough for the address and the stamp, no return address—and when he turned it over he discovered lines of text printed on the paper. The flap was tucked carefully into a fold in the envelope that held it tight.
As he pulled out the flap, he realized that the envelope wasn't held together with glue; it was some sort of cleverly-folded origami craft that began to unfold in his hands as he pulled out the flap. The letter was written on the inside of the envelope. "Why—what a delightful little creation!" He sat at his dressing table to focus on unfolding the letter, careful not to damage it so he could re-fold it later.
Once he'd smoothed it out, he could see that the paper was carefully torn from a book. The outside of the envelope was made from the last page of a chapter, with only a few lines of text at the top of the page and the rest left conveniently blank. It talked about telling the difference between waking and dreaming.
He turned the page over to read the letter.
GIDEON–
IT'S ADORABLE THAT YOU'RE USING A DREAM COUNTERFEITING SPELL FOR CAPITALISM! I BET YOUR PARENTS ARE PROUD! HOWEVER, MY FILLINGS ARE PICKING UP AUTO DEALERSHIP ADS ALL NIGHT. IT'S REALLY ANNOYING. CUT IT OUT.
In place of a signature, there was a triangle with an eye.
Gideon's blood ran cold.
He read the letter again, then studied the words themselves. He didn't recognize the tall, thin, crooked handwriting. He flipped over the envelope. No return address. He noticed for the first time that the letter wasn't addressed to "Gideon". It said "STAR BOY". Fan mail. Right.
The postmark was from Gravity Falls.
"It can't be Bill," Gideon muttered to himself. "Bill's dead. It's got to be some prankster with a twisted sense of humor..."
But then, how could some prankster know he was doing dream magic? Did anyone else even know that Bill had called him "Star Boy"?
No. It had to be a prankster. If Bill were alive, he'd be doing much worse than sending letters and complaining about fillings.
He crumpled up the letter and threw it away. His father's business needed Gideon to do whatever he could to help. Gideon's own financial future depended on it. He wasn't about to let some prankster stop him.
####
There was a rumble of several motorcycles and a revving car engine outside the Gleeful house, disturbing the late evening still. Gideon came in the front door wearing a little backpack, waving behind himself as he came in. "Thanks for the ride, Ghost-Eyes! Good talk today! I'll see y'all this weekend for brunch!" He shut the door as the engines receded into the distance.
"Welcome home, son," Bud said from the couch. "How were the ex-convicts this week?"
"Oh, great, just great. Graybeard's daughter is gonna let him meet his grandson and Spiderwebs got a new job."
"Oh, that's wonderful to hear. I know you were real concerned for Spiderwebs."
"I shouldn't have worried! He got work at an alpaca ranch on the other side of town, did you know there's an alpaca ranch 'round here?"
"Can't say I did!"
"I think it's a good fit for him. Being out in nature calms him down."
An uneasy silence fell over the room as they waited a polite amount of time to change the topic. In the kitchen, Joy cleaned the same dish for the third time.
Bud cleared his throat. "Well, uh—you know, it's been a couple of days since we've run a 'nighttime ad.' Do you think it's a good time to...?"
Gideon squeezed his backpack's straps. He could still see that spindly text reading "STAR BOY". "Do you think? I don't want to put 'em too close together, folks might notice..."
Bud grimaced. "It can't hurt. It's been almost two weeks since I sold a car."
Gideon scowled. But he nodded. "Yeah, all right. I'll go set up."
"You know how much your mother and I appreciate it," Bud said. "I'll go heat up dinner."
Gideon went to his room, tossed his backpack on his bed, rolled out the tarp on which he'd drawn the circle and sigils in permanent marker, and set up the candlesticks and candles around the perimeter. His father called him to dinner; they watched an evening talk show; and after a little more dawdling, they figured it was late enough that most folks would be asleep, and went to Gideon's room to get to work.
As Bud awkwardly lowered himself to sit in the circle and Gideon lit the candles, Gideon asked, "Father, do you ever... remember who you talk to? I mean, whose dreams you're in?"
Bud considered that, pursing his lips. "No, can't say I do. It's a bit like I'm dreaming myself," he said. "And it's sort of a jumble of a few hundred dreams, too. Like I'm visiting the whole town at once. All I can recall is a blur!"
Gideon frowned. "I see."
"You sure you don't want to be sitting in the circle this time?" Bud asked. "I'd bet if folks saw you in their dreams telling them to buy a car, why, they'd just rush right down."
These days, Gideon wasn't so sure. Sourly, he said, "I don't want to get involved." He'd gotten enough of starring in his father's car commercials when he was younger. He'd thought he'd escaped that completely when he picked up the telepathy act; he didn't relish the thought of using telepathy to star in another car commercial.
"All right, suit yourself. Just keep it in mind." Bud got as comfortable as he could on the floor and shut his eyes.
Gideon took a deep breath and began chanting: "Dreamers, hear me, from far far away; tonight you'll dream of what I say; dreamers, hear me, from far far away; tonight you'll dream of what I say; dreamers, hear me, from far far away..."
The flames flickered and turned bright blue. A purplish shimmery light surrounded Bud; and as Gideon kept chanting, the light expanded to the edge of the circle and beyond, creeping across the floor, over the bed—
A shrill wail filled the room. They both started, losing their concentration. The wail persisted several seconds before it resolved into a eardrum-bursting roar of words: "HI I'M SCOUT YOUNGER AND I'M IN A PICKLE SO YOU CAN DRIVE FOR A NICKEL! I'VE GOT SO MANY CARS I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO PUT 'EM! SO WE'RE GIVING THEM AWAY FOR FIVE CENTS, THAT'S RIGHT FIVE CENTS! SCOUT YOUNGER, I'M A DEALER BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE—"
"Dagnabbit," Bud shouted, "that's the man undermining my no-barter-for-a-quarter deal and getting all my business! He's halfway to Portland—but darn it, his commercials are so catchy!"
"—THAT'S YOUNGER PATRIOT CARS, ON THE NORTH SIDE OF INTERSTATE—" The commercial was cut off with a clap of thunder that made them both jump again.
And before the dying rumbles of the thunder had fully faded, a second voice spoke—a high-pitched, furious shriek that Gideon hadn't heard in nearly a year but instantly recognized: "SEE HOW YOU LIKE GETTING USED CAR ADS SHOVED DOWN YOUR THROAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, YOU LITTLE TWERP. THIS IS MY FINAL WARNING!"
There was another crack of thunder; and then nothing.
Nothing but a faint, muffled, mechanical whir coming from Gideon's bed.
Slowly, Bud said, "Is that...?"
Gideon looked under his bed; then on top, tugging over his backpack and unzipping it; and he pulled out a still-running cassette tape player. A complicated sigil was painted on top of the player and stretched over the play button, glowing shimmery purple as though it had absorbed the magic from Gideon's spell.
Bud took the tape player, stopped it, rewound a bit, turned down the volume dial, and hit play: "—your throat in the middle of the night, you little—"
He stopped the tape. He and Gideon looked at each other.
Bud said, "Don't tell your mother."
####
"Third lap!" Dipper crowed as his car zoomed over the line on the digital racetrack. "You'd better catch up fast!"
"Aw, c'mon," Mabel groaned. She tilted her body along with her game controller as she steered her car around a tricky curve, as though that would help her go a little faster. "No fair, I'd be winning if you didn't throw a goose at me—"
"Pff, shut up, you always use the goose."
Bill was sitting cross-legged on the floor, watching the fish tank—as far as either Dipper or Mabel could tell, having a staring contest with the axolotl—but without breaking eye contact with the tank, he leaned over to elbow Dipper's knee. "Hey kid. Go left."
"What? No, shut up." Dipper tried to kick Bill's arm away.
"Go left. Trust me, it's a hidden shortcut."
"No! You're not even watching."
"I'm psychic. Go left."
"No." Dipper jerked his car to the right. It drove off the track and landed in quicksand. "Aw, man—"
"YES!" Mabel sailed past him. A fanfare played as she crossed the finish line. "The winner! Woo-woooo!"
Bill beamed as Dipper glared at the side of his face.
Somebody knocked on the door—and kept knocking, frantically hammering for attention. Dipper and Mabel looked over.
Bill glanced over, rolled his eyes, said, "You don't want to answer that," and looked back at the fish tank.
Dipper glared at him again, stood, and went to answer the door, Mabel close behind. "Hel— Gideon?"
"Told you," Bill muttered.
Gideon was sweating, panting, and wild-eyed with panic. "Mabel! Dipper!" He paused to give Mabel a sweet smile. "Hi Mabel~♡" And straight back to panic. "We've got a problem! I know y'all don't want me 'round here, but—but this is an emergency!"
Dipper glanced at Mabel. She sighed, but reluctantly stepped back to let Gideon in. "All right. What is it?"
"I know I sound insane, but—but you have to trust me," Gideon said. "I don't know how, and I don't know why, but Bill Cipher's back! I'm sure it's Bill, it can't be anyone else, he... he knows things only somebody with his powers could know!" He paced anxiously in front of the twins, "He's been sending me threatening mail and harassing me and—and I don't know what he's up to, but we've got to find him and stop him! You've gotta help me!" He grabbed Dipper's arms. "I think he might be trying to kill my family!"
Dipper and Mabel turned to glare at Bill.
He was determinedly studying the fish tank.
"Hey, Goldie," Dipper snapped.
Bill glanced over with an expression of mild interest. "Hm?"
"Gideon here says that Bill's been harassing him," Dipper said. "What do you think about that."
"Oh wow," Bill said, extremely unconvincingly. "That's so crazy. I can't even believe it."
Gideon's anxious gaze darted past Dipper and Mabel. "Who's...?" He thought he remembered seeing that stranger around Wendy.
Dipper stepped between their line of sight. "Thanks, Gideon. We'll handle this... problem."
The stranger got to his feet and sauntered to the entryway. "Hey Gideon. Just out of curiosity, what were y—"
Mabel cut in, "Bye, Gideon!" She tried to push him toward the door. "We'll see you later!"
The stranger leaned over Gideon, planting a hand on the doorframe. "—what were you doing that got on Bill's nerves so much, I wonder—"
"Shhh!" Mabel tried to push Bill away.
Had Gideon not heard the voice so recently, he might not have noticed anything odd about the stranger in front of him. But as it was, a chill instantly ran up his spine. He slowly looked up. The menacing smile was unfamiliar, but the eye... something was wrong with that eye. The longer he stared into it, the more he could see the cruel, mad, golden inhumanity.
Gideon squealed in terror and bolted out the door.
Dipper squeezed his eyes shut and groaned. "Seriously?"
Mabel chased after him. "Gideon! Gideon wait!" She caught up with him rounding in front of the gift shop and had to tackle him into the dirt.
"Get offa me! You're working for him, you traitor—"
"Gideon, listen! We're not working for him, he's our prisoner!"
"Oh." Gideon stopped struggling. "Well, that's a different kettle of corn, isn't it."
Mabel sighed in relief. She backed off Gideon, but had to hold his ankle to make sure he wouldn't bolt again. "Okay, look. We don't know how, but Bill's stuck in a human body, and he's got no powers."
"How do y'all know he isn't faking it?"
"Because he tried to kill us and we beat him up." She winced. "We've... kind of beat him up a lot."
Gideon nodded. "O... okay."
"But you can't tell anybody," Mabel said. "If there's an angry mob or something and he gets executed, the real Bill might hatch from his body like an egg and he'll take over the town again!"
Gideon shuddered. He could almost still feel ache in his legs and the blisters on his feet under the adorable sparkly pink shoes.
"So he's fine here with us. We've got everything under control, he's not dangerous like this—" Mabel turned around to shout, "—and HE SHOULDN'T BE SENDING THREATENING LETTERS, BILL."
Bill's voice drifted from around the corner of the house: "YOU CAN'T PROVE ANYTHING!"
Dipper said, "What did Gideon do to warrant that, anyway?"
Bill glowered into the distance. "He knows what he did."
"Okay, I-I won't tell anyone. I promise." Pitifully, Gideon asked, "Can I go home now?"
"Yeah, you can go home now." Mabel let him go. He got up and ran as fast as his little legs would carry him.
####
They reconvened in the living room. Dipper and Mabel stood in front of Bill, glaring. Bill sat on the sofa, smiling innocently.
"Bill," Mabel said. "You should be ashamed of yourself."
"Oh, yeah?" Lots of people thought he should be ashamed of himself, but not many had the guts to say so.
"Bullying Gideon like that!"
"I have an excuse," Bill said. "I've been crabby this week. Body made me crabby. Some kind of human neurotransmitter imbalance. I didn't sign up to have neurotransmitters, it's completely out of my hands."
"That's not an excuse," Dipper said.
"Plus, you're an entire adult thing!" Mabel said. "You're picking on a little kid! He's like, eleven!"
"So? There's not a lot of difference between eleven and a hundred eleven when you're a million million years old."
"Then maybe you're too old to bully anybody."
Bill blinked in mild surprise. "Huh."
Dipper said, "Plus, you're gonna blow your cover and get everyone in trouble!"
Bill shrugged. "He can't prove anything! Anyone could have sent a letter pretending to be me."
Mabel asked, "How did you send a letter, anyway?"
####
"Hey, Soos," Mabel yelled, "Can you send a letter for me?"
"Sure thing, hambone! Just stick it on the pile in the kitchen."
Mabel licked a stamp, haphazardly slapped it on the envelope to her parents, tossed it on the other mail, and ran back upstairs.
Bill crept into the kitchen, peeled the stamp off Mabel's envelope before it dried, stuck it on his tiny origami letter, and stuffed them both into the middle of the mail pile. "Sorry, kid," he muttered. "You'll just have to resend this one."
####
"I have my ways," Bill said.
"And how did you 'harass' Gideon?" Dipper asked. "What could you possibly do from in here to harass him?"
####
Bill sat on the sofa in the floor room with Mabel's boombox radio on the floor, a cassette tape player/recorder he'd salvaged from the museum held up to the speaker with his thumb hovering over the record button, his other hand hovering over the key with the thunder sound effect on Soos's keyboard, an air horn between his knees, and a nearly-dead marker he'd fished out of Mabel's trash and revitalized with rubbing alcohol waiting next to him for drawing a magic-activated sigil. He glared at the boombox as the local radio station played an advertisement for air conditioning installation. "Come on," he muttered at the boombox. "Play the stupid car commercial."
The next ad started. "Bargain alert, bargain alert! I've got more used cars than I know what to do with! Hi, I'm Scout—"
"Yes," Bill hissed. He hit the record button, squeezed the air horn between his knees, held the tape recorder up to the boombox until the end of the commercial, kicked the boombox's power button, quickly held the tape recorder up to the piano, and triumphantly hit the key that produced the sound of a flushing toilet.
"NO!" He kicked the electric piano's leg, flung the tape recorder to the other end of the sofa, and flopped face down on the cushions. After permitting himself a moment of grief at the injustice of it all, he dragged over the tape recorder, stopped it, rewound it back to the start, hit the lightning key several times to make sure he had it, and then set up again to wait for the next time the car commercial played.
####
"Hey Wendy, could you get this door for me?"
Wendy gave Bill a puzzled look. "That's the wrong hallway. Rainbow Club's down that one." She pointed at the door across the room.
"I know, I'm just looking for the restroom! I need to dooo... girl hygiene things?"
Wendy looked at the tape player-shaped lump under Bill's shirt, looked at his face, and raised her brow.
"Okay, okay. I'm gonna prank Lil Gideon."
Wendy opened the door, leaned through, and opened a second door to a coat closet. "Good luck. We're all counting on you."
Bill saluted her, and rummaged through the leather biker jackets in search of Gideon's little backpack.
####
"You've got no idea what kind of dark powers I still have at my disposal," Bill boasted, leaning back and lacing his hands behind his head.
Dipper turned to Mabel. "Yeah, he's got nothing. He probably bribed a tourist to call Gideon's house or something."
Bill scowled, but didn't dignify Dipper with a response. "Anyway, the game's over now that Gideon knows where I am. I won't do it again."
Dipper scoffed. "Yeah, sure. Why should we trust you?"
"Because," Bill said calmly, "if I do it again, you'll have to tell your uncles, and I'll be in serious trouble. So I won't... and therefore, you won't. Right?"
Dipper frowned, but looked at Mabel. Mabel was considering Bill with her hands on her hips. She prompted, "Aaand...?"
It took Bill a moment to figure out what she was aiming for. "And I've realized I was mean and I'm very remorseful for my hurtful actions."
Mabel pointed at him. "That's what I wanna hear!" She looked at Dipper. "I think we can let him off with a warning."
Dipper shook his head in resignation.
Mabel said, "But you're not stopping there, Bill."
"How's that?"
"Come on, man, think!" She poked her finger against her temple. "You know the answer! We just watched this episode yesterday!"
"Episode?" Dipper asked.
"I've been using Color Critters to teach him social skills."
Bill said, "I have social skills, all you're doing is showing me what'll be on the test."
"That's how learning works, dummy! I wanna hear you regurgitate that textbook answer!"
Bill opened his mouth, stuck out his tongue, and pantomimed sticking his finger down his throat and gagging; but then he said, with a blatantly artificial chipper tone, "'If we hurt our friends, we should try to find a way to make it up to them and make sure it can't happen again.'"
"That's right! 98 points! I'm taking two off for attitude."
"So how do you expect me to make it up to him? I can't exactly un-send him a letter. Unless you're gonna loan me that time tape—"
"Stop asking for the time tape," Dipper said, "it'll never happen."
Bill shrugged. "Then what do you suggest."
"Figure it out yourself," Mabel said. "You're the one who's gotta make it up to Gideon, not us."
Bill rolled his eye. "Is this part of the terms to buy your silence?"
"Yeah, it is."
"All right, fine." Bill sighed and stood up. "Give me a bit to brainstorm. I'll be upstairs." He meandered out of the room.
Mabel called after him, "You better not think you're wiggling out of this!"
"Relax! I won't disappoint you, Shooting Star. Promise."
Once he was out of earshot, Dipper turned to Mabel. "How do you expect him to make it up to Gideon?"
"He should say 'sorry.'"
Dipper nodded. Okay, sure, that sounded reasonable. "How long do you think it'll take for him to think of apologizing?"
"I'd give it a couple of hours."

(If you recognize the dealership being parodied, we now share a warrior's bond. Anyway hope y'all enjoyed, I've been looking forward to introducing Gideon for a long time! As always, I'd love to hear y'all's thoughts and comments on the chapter!)

I’ll die with you
(Tara Carpenter x fem! reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Months after the 2022 massacre, you reunite with someone dear to you. But the happiness in only temporary; a new killer is targeting you. Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 3 || Part 4 || Part 5 || Part 6 || Part 7 a/n: This will probably be a multi chapters story with very irregular posting :)) Warnings: blood, injuries, Ghostface stuff, angst (English isn't my first language, I'm sorry if there are mistakes or if something doesn't make sense TvT)
"Hey, I'm not going to disappear okay?"
You laughed as your girlfriend pouted when you pushed her away gently. You were lying on her bed, her on top of you kissing you desperately as if you were about to vanish.
"It's just two days Tara, maybe less knowing her"
"Well that's still too long! Who's going to cuddle with me if you're not here? And my morning kiss?"
"I'll make up this, I promise" you kiss her "After this weekend"
She groaned slightly, disappointed. But she knew it was important for you.
"Can we stop talking now? I want to enjoy our last moment together..."
"Don't be dramatic, it's not our last moment together. When you say it like that it looks like we will never see each other again..."
She didn't answer and kissed you again, desperately.
You hadn't been separated in a while since the... incident. You were so used to be on each other all day it was hard being without her for too long.
Her lips were soon on your neck, placing hot, wet kisses here, sucking dark purple marks there, hands everywhere on you. You let out a sight, fingers tangled in her hair.
"Tara..."
She hummed against your skin, hands sliding under your shirt. You felt her smile on your shoulder when she felt you shivering under her cold fingers.
You arrived late at the train station, hair still a little messy. You rolled down your window and looked around for the person you were waiting. She wasn't difficult to spot with her blue suit.
You texted her you were there. She looked up, and starting walking toward you, a smile replacing her previous frown.
"Where did you get that car? Are you even allowed to drive it?" she asked as she took place next to you
"I stole it"
She gave you a "are you serious" look. You rolled your eyes, smiling.
"I'm kidding, I bought it. And yes, I have a licence"
You started to drive home calmly.
"How was New York?" you asked
"Oh you know, with work I don't really have time to visit"
"You know that's not what I meant"
"I know"
"... It's going to get better right...? Does it ever go away...?"
"Not completely, never. It's normal to feel that way. You cared about him, we both did. Time will ease the pain, but he will still be in our hearts. Forever"
She had never been good at reassuring anyone, but this time she found the right words.
Months after, your dad's death still hurt. It was normal, you knew it. You wanted to get over it, like everyone told you, but there was always that part of yourself that still believed he would come home.
"I'm back" he would say with a smile "Sorry I made you wait, the delivery guy forgot the sauce, again"
But that never happened. It never would.
With your mom out of town, you didn't think too much about him. Or at least that's what you said not to worry Tara. Now that she was back, even if it was only a weekend, the good old days came back, flashing before your eyes.
You parked in front of the house, tears in your eyes.
"How can you not cry...?" you asked with a nervous laugh, trying to light up the mood
"I'm Gale Weathers, I don't cry. Not in public"
"Of course, why did I even asked?"
You both smiled a little, getting out of the car and inside the house.
You started making diner, telling her some things you learnt while she was gone, trying to give her ideas for a new novel.
"Why don't you tell me about your life? It would make an interesting book. A spicy one for sure"
So she saw the hickeys.
"Mom!"
You blushed hard, embarrassed.
"No you're right, writing about people only attracts psychos. I wouldn't want your girlfriend or you getting hurt"
"Thank you?"
You both laughed and had a good time watching your favorite series while eating, until her phone rung.
"What does he wants? I told him I was off this weekend" she mumbled
"Pick up"
"What?"
"Maybe it's important"
She looked at you for a second, before getting up and taking the call. When she came back, you already knew what she was going to say.
"They learnt I was back here and now they want me to-"
"I know. It's fine, we had a good time, you can go"
"I'm sorry Y/n..."
She hugged you tight.
"You're Gale Weathers, the best reporter. No wonder everyone wants you"
She smiled a little, relieved you weren't mad, and was quick to go.
It always ended up that way with her. But it wasn't her fault. You knew she ment it when she said she was sorry.
You sighed and called your girlfriend.
"Guess who has to work even on her days off?" you said when she picked up
"She's gone already?"
"Yep. That was quicker than I thought... want to come over to keep me company?"
"Is that even a question? I'm on my way, wait for me baby"
You smiled at her words.
"Don't hang up, I want to talk to you on your way here"
"Oh yeah? What are you gonna tell me? Tease me?"
"Maybe..." you said innocently
The landline suddenly started ringing, making you jump.
"Shit"
"What's going on?"
"Landline. Who still uses this?" you mumbled
You walked to the phone and picked up, putting Tara on speaker so you could still hear her.
"Hello?"
"Is this uh... Y/n Riley?"
"Depends. What do you want?"
"You ordered something on our website, it should be there"
"Why do you call me for that?"
"Well... I think we send you the wrong package..."
"Y/n what's going on? Who is it?"
You texted your girlfriend about the situation while talking with the guy.
"I suppose you want me to check?"
"Yep"
"And uh... what did I ordered again? I don't remember"
"I think it was... a painful death."
You hang up immediately and let go of the phone. A voice changer. He was using a fucking voice changer.
"Baby! Is everything okay?"
"Yeah... just a stupid guy using a voice changer for a stupid prank..."
"Are you sure of that?"
The voice came from behind you. You turned around so quickly your neck hurt.
You felt your heart drop in your chest when you saw a tall, dark silhouette looking at you through a Ghostface mask.
"Hello, Y/n"
You were frozen in place, incapable of moving. The Ghostface took a step closer to you, tilting his head slightly, knife in hand.
That's when your legs came back. You ran as quickly as you could, trying to tell Tara on the phone.
"Tara it's Ghostface! Fuck I-"
You couldn't finish your sentence. He grabbed you violently by the waist, making you let go of your phone. It slid on the floor.
He stabbed your abdomen, a hand over your mouth. You let out a muffled scream, and tried to escape his strong grip.
You managed to bit his hand, hard. He kicked you forward, swearing under his breath.
You barely had time to grab a lamp nearby and turn around that he was already on you again, fingers wrapping around your neck, choking you.
You dropped the lamp as he lifted you up before pressing your back against the chimney. Breathing was becoming difficult. To make things better, he sank his blade into you again, twisting it painfully this time. Blood splattered on the floor.
You struggled against him, trying to get his hand off of your neck. But he was stronger than you, you couldn't do anything.
You reached behind you, desperate, when your hands found what you thought was a vase. With all the strength you still had, you slammed it on his head.
His stumbled backward, holding his head, letting you fall to the ground. You gasped for air but didn't waste more time and staggered up.
You tried to reach your phone on the way to the door, but you were pushed to the ground. You started crawling, tears flooding down your cheeks.
"Tara help!" you yelled, voice broken
Ghostface grabbed your hair and tugged your head backward harshly, one of his knees on your back to keep you on the floor.
"No one can save you. You will die alone, just like your father."
He slammed your head against the floor. You let out a cry which only grew bigger when he stabbed you on your side. He did it again. And again. And again. You were coughing blood at this point.
You didn't want to die. You couldn't die. You were screaming for help, crying and bleeding on the floor, Ghostface on top of you. You could still hear Tara's voice on the phone, a few meters away.
He pulled on your hair again, slamming your head on the floor once more. You started to feel dizzy. Everything was blurred around you, your ears were ringing.
So that's the end... you thought as he pulled your head back up.
"Tara..." you let out in a breath
He slammed your head back down again, harder than before.
I love you, was what you wanted to say. But everything turned black before you could open your mouth again.
When she arrived at your house, heart beating faster than ever, hands shaking, she saw him. Tall. Black costume. Bloody knife. He was running away.
Then her eyes fell on your body, lying in a pool of blood in your living room.
"Y/n!"
She ran to you, turning you around so you were on your back. Your face was covered in blood, fresh tears on your cheeks. She looked at you in horror. Her worst nightmare just became real.
Your necklace with her initial, stained with your blood, was hanging lazily around your neck, red from earlier.
Tears were rolling down her cheeks when she tried to take your pulse. She gasped when she felt it. She held your head with one hand, the other taking one of your own.
"Baby please stay with me... I called an ambulance it will be here any minute now..."
She had almost lost her voice from screaming when you were being attacked. Hearing you cry for help and not being able to to anything had killed her.
When the ambulance arrived, you were still unconscious in her arms. They forced her to back up while they were taking care of you. She didn't want to. She needed to be close to you. But they didn't let her.
From where she was, she could hear their conversation. It only made her heart ache.
"We're losing her! Get ready to shock her! 1, 2, 3, go!"
"She's losing too much blood!"
After what felt like an eternity, they put you on a stretcher into an ambulance. Tara made her way to you but was stopped quickly.
"You can't go further miss."
"Is she alive?" she asked, panicked
"She was clinically dead for 3 minutes. But we brought her back. Now if you want her to live have to take her to the hospital. And no, you can't come with us, we need to be by her side. You will see her at the hospital"
They left her here, crying on the sidewalk in front of your house. After a minute, she headed to the hospital, walking as fast as her legs allowed.
Once she was there, she was told she couldn't see you yet. She tried to argue, but that was useless. She "would only have to wait a little" as the lady said.
She took the opportunity to call your mother, your friends, and her sister to tell them everything.
The first to arrive was your mom, as expected. She seemed devastated. She got mad when she learnt she couldn't see you right now and started yelling at the lady before Tara dragged her away.
They had to wait half an hour before someone told them they could see you. You were still asleep, but your life wasn't in danger anymore.
Tara sat next to you and took your hand, stroking it gently, while Gale sat on the other side, watching you with tears in her eyes.
"... Can you watch her for a minute...? I have to tell Sidney..." she asked your girlfriend
"I'll call you if she wakes up"
She thanked her and got out of the room, taking her phone with shaking hands.
You would soon wake up, not believing you were still alive, and burst into tears in your girlfriend's arms only able to think about one thing; you had a killer on the hunt again.

I really love your blade and pregnant wife fic! Can I request their lives after the reader joins him on Stellaron Hunters?
A/N: I'M BACK, NO MORE WRITERS BLOCK. And hiii, thank you, I'm glad you liked it :)) And of course!! Here's some mini scenarios and HCs of what happened after the reader joined the Stellaron Hunters
Warnings: None (I hope, correct me if I'm wrong)
Extra: AFAB! Reader (GN terms/pronouns used aside from wife and mother) // OOC Blade most likely // Not proofread, as always correct me if I did smt wrong // PT 1 of the Blade x Pregnant Wife Fic here here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SilverWolf definitely used you as a way to get Blade to do whatever she wants. If she wants to play a game with him and he says no? All she needs to do is mention you once and suddenly his hands all better and he can play.
He very much cuddles with you in bed (if you don't mind) Just note that if he has his arms around you, then it'll be difficult for you to leave.
When your kid is finally born, he's not exactly the best father but not the worst either. He knows his...demeaner can be scary to others, and he usually doesn't care. But if he scares his kid? I can see him sulking as you try to comfort your child and tell him the "scary old man" is in fact his father.
He asked Elio for some time off to help the kid settle in, as well, Being born in pretty much a criminal family isn't the best.
The child definitely sees Kafka and SilverWolf as their aunties and Sam as their uncle.
For some reason, I'd find it funny that when Elio was showing his more human form (he has one right-?) the child called him Grandpa. Didn't matter how young he looked.
Blade will protect you and his kid with his life, he instructs the two of you to stay put as he does his missions. He hasn't seen you in forever and he's not risking loosing you.
Maybe after the kid is born and has grown up a bit to be able to look after themselves and you're capable, he might be okay with you joining in on his missions.
Jing Yuan is disappointed you joined the Stellaron Hunters but not surprised when he found out. He either found out due to Cloud Knights who put two and two together/saw you with Blade OR you and Blade met him during a mission on the Loufu.
Okay but think of this, y'know how the Stellaron Hunters can bascially make a hologram of themselves onto the express? Imagine Blade trying to intimidate the express then his child just appears like-
Blade: "And I'll ensure my blade pierces through your-" Child: *Random child hologram appears* "Dada!!" Blade: *His demeanor changes as the mini hologram of his child appears, he looks at the child* "You're meant to be asleep...here let me take you to bed or else your mother will be mad"
*Cue The Astral Express Family Confusion*
He refuses to admit he has a weakness to you and his child. Like no he is not making you breakfast in bed just because and no he did not just steal a shop full of toys for his kid.
Blade lets you and your kid style is hair and if he's feeling up to it, he might let you put silly make up on. Imagine him going into a Stellaron Hunter meeting and his hair is braided into pigtails and he has pink sparkly make up on.
He cares about his small family...a lot...so if he sees you or his kid with the slightest cut he'll be quick to patch it up and if you ask nicely enough. Maybe kiss it better. (He won't admit he was worried though, just lecture you to be careful)
You're the only one who can see his more soft and caring side, especially alone. If you're with him with others, people will definitely notice how he treats you better then them.
You probably have scary dog privileges, he doesn't trust anyone to not hurt you so he'll come with you everywhere. And if you insist to go alone? He'll ask someone else to go with you so he can ensure your safety. (He's just doesn't wanna loose you again)
His child is home-schooled, even though he is scary and can probably convince someone to teach him at a school, he has a feeling they'd get bullied and/or no one will come near them if they knew he was the father.
All the Stellaron Hunters help teach them, and they even teach them additional things...
Blade: Kafka. Stop teaching them how to shoot a gun Kafka: Come now Bladie, they should know how to protect themselves. Blade: THEY'RE 4.
Your kids eyes are the same colour as yours and their hair the same as Blade...well his old hair anyways.
He's a good husband still, perhaps a bit more violent...never to you and your kid though of course. Just cold to others ESEPCAILLY if they're taking bad about you or his kid.
One of the reasons he acts this way towards youse is because he wants to make up for the amount of time lost when he was gone. So making you happy and ensuring you're still okay and healthy is his top priority. If you or your kid thinks he's getting too much than tell him and he'll agree to stop. He doesn't want to make you uncomfortable either. He just want you and your kid to be safe and happy.
Tumblr media
Will be working on the other 2 current requests I have as soon as I can, apologies for the small break :>
This is most definitely not my best work but I hope you like it regardless (┳◡┳)

My floral love -The ball
Tommy Shelby X FReader
part 1 (part 2)
Summary: Reader is one of Tommy's collogues daughters. she owns a flower shop in Birmingham and because she is unmarried and single her father(lovingly) likes to drag her to big events and parties to try and find her a man. everything is always made worse with just how shy she can be.
Rating: Fluff, for now muuwwahaha
Warming: none
Tumblr media
Your father made sure to bring you to any event with eligible bachelors. Being a politician that was a lot. Being twenty-five and still being brought to parties and events in search of a husband by your father is overall embarrassing and you have tried many times to get out of it but only succeeded a handful of times.
This time was no different save for one detail, your father had a man in mind this time and he gave you a choice. Either talk to him on your own, at least try or he would stop Mr. Shelby on his way out and introduces you to him himself.
The options left you mortified for so many reasons. “Why can't I just not talk to him?” you argued, arms crossed as your father sat in his office.
He looked at you and chuckled. “Dear, I'm not telling you to marry him, just talk to him. Honestly I'm being fair by letting you do it yourself this time.” he joked. Your father was a good man, overwhelming but good. Both your older brother and sister already had babies so your parents weren’t aren't missing out on being grandparents. He just wanted you happy, not playing with flowers forever. You know he meant well and that's why it was always so hard to say no and why you almost always gave in.
You rolled your eyes and sighed softly. “Yes, fine.” you agreed.
Your father grinned with glee. “Perfect, a driver will pick you up at six.”
_______ Night of the party_______
The whole event was elegant, black tuxes and ball gowns, women wore gaudy jewelry and silk gloves. Black shoes shined brighter than the marble floor they stood on.
Only twenty minutes into the whole ordeal does your father point out a man, dark hair and light eyes, talking to an older gentleman who looked like he really shouldn’t be making governmental decisions anymore. “That's Thomas Shelby, why don't you make your way over?” your father suggested before winking and nudging you towards the man across the room.
As your fathers back turned from you to dive into some deep boring conversation with another guest you froze as you turned to the crowded space where Mr. Shelby stood.. Not ready to just walk right up to him, no you needed booz, just a drink. You slowly walked through the sea of people, scanning the room for a waiter and a tray. Finally spotting a waiter you weaved through people to meet his path. Quickly snatching a glass from the tray you spot an open space by the edge of the large room. Attempting to weave through people proved difficult when you were bumped from behind and spilt the red wine all over your soft purple dress.
“Oye, sorry doll!” a gruff voice boomed from behind you, turning a few heads around to look at the commotion. You turned and saw that the man was clearly drunk, or something. His hair that looked like it should be perfectly slicked back was slightly disheveled. He looked down at your dress and embarrassment washed over his features. “Shit im really sorry, I ruined a beautiful dress.”
“It's okay, please don’t worry about it.” you tried to make him drop it, not wanting to bring anymore attention to yourself. “I'll just go-”
“Arthur, fuckin hell.” another voice game from behind the drunk man, who you guessed was Arthur by the way he sheepishly turned around. Behind him was none other than Thomas Shelby.
“Tommy, it's okay.” Arthur tried to reassure the man who stared at him with disappointment clear on his face. “I just bumped her, the whine spilt and…” he trailed off, knowing there wasn't really an explanation needed.
Tommy shook his head before taking a look at your dress, frowning even more at the sight of the dark stain. “I'm sorry for my brother, he needs to go get some air. Now.” the last part was said to Arthur, eyes warning him not to do anything more stupid.
You tried to smile reassuringly. “It's okay, don't worry.” you said, taking a step back, searching for the exit. Arthur nodded and headed back into the middle of the crowd. You couldn't tell if he was heading towards an exit or not and didn’t want to risk following him and getting turned around.
“Let me help you, c’mon.” he said, offering you his arm. Not wanting to embarrass yourself anymore you decided to let him guide you out of this big loud room, you could deal with finding a way out later, could always wait for your father by the front gate if you needed to. Tommy placed his hand on the middle of your back and gently nudged you. “This way.” he said, leading you through the crowded and into a much quieter hallway. “I can't take you to the kitchen if you'd like to try and save the dress?” Tommy offered.
You smiled shyly and shook your head, letting go of his arm and taking a step a side. “no, the dress has served its purpose for the evening.” you came to the event and you even talked to Tommy Shelby, technically. You couldn't maintain eye contact for very long, instead keeping your eyes focused on the floor.
Tommy smiled softly as you two came to stop, the ballroom just a faint whisper in the background. You leaned against the open window, the fresh air feeling better. “So what was its purpose?” Tommy asked, causing you to look at him quizzically. “To get the thing destroyed by having whine spilt all over it? Not sure exactly why you’d want to do that, the dress looks stunning on you.” he elaborated, he continued to smile, coming to lean against the wall across from you.
His comment took you off guard, you could feel your cheeks blushing as you looked at him. “Umm well no.” you stammered. “I really didn't mean to bump into your brother i am sorry Mr. Shelby.” you were now focused on the ground again. You hated these events because you never knew how to speak to the beautiful young men your father introduced you to, now here you are struggling to talk to a beautiful ‘slightly’ older man your father made you. You didn't have your father this time to carry the conversation.
Tommy’s smooth chuckle drew your eyes back up to the man, He pulled a metal box from his pocket. “My brother is drunk and acting a fool.” he stated plainly. He pulled a cigarette out and offered you one from the open case, smiled and slid one out. “He ruined your pretty dress, i'd like to pay for another, or whatever else you'd like in return instead.” it wasn't an offer but a statement. You understood why he entered politics.
“Really it's fine.” you didn't want to have to explain that you basically milked the dresses since you were forced to go to these events.
Tommy slid the cigarette between his lips before lighting a match and holding it to the end of yours before lighting his own. You sat in silence for a minute as the smoke built up around you two and started swirling around in the yellow lamps of the hallway.
Tommy broke the quiet space between you first. “Are you here with someone, husband?” he inquired. At least he dropped the paying you back thing.
You laugh softly before catching yourself. “No.” you stated, taking a long drag and exhaling. “No husband, my father insists on bringing me to these parties and events.” you confessed, taking a rather long drag and holding it in a moment, hoping he would ask about your father.
Nodding he took his watch out and checked the time before sliding it back into his front pocket. “You know of me, that's because of your father I assume, who is he?” he asked casually.
You let out a soft sigh before telling him your fathers name. “Robert Y/L/N.”
His smile widened slightly. “That so? That would make you his youngest then correct?” Tommy pointed out.
You looked at him in astonishment. He knew your family, your father and his stories, always boasting about his family. “How often do you two talk exactly?” you asked, trying not to panic, hoping your father would talk about your siblings and the grandkids over his still unmarried daughter who lives and works at a flower shop with no love life.
Tommy couldn't help the small smirk that cracks the corners of his lips. “Good man, your father, very proud of his happy family.” Tommy took another drag of his cigarette. “He's talked a lot about you miss Y/N, it's clear he adores and cares a lot about you.” Tommy spoke casually and was almost scripted.
Mortified, that's how you felt. Tommy was being polite by not expressing just how bad your father actually makes you sound lonely and sad. “Yeah, he's never been good at keeping things to himself, honest man.” you said, putting the cigarette out on the windowsill.
He hummed in response, taking another drag and exhaled slowly. “Let me drive you home, it's the least I can do then for the mess my brother caused.” he offered, his face gentle yet still reserved.
“Really Mr.Shelby i'll be just fine, you don't have to worry.” you once again tried to reassure him you could manage without being paid back for a little mistake.
Taking a few steps to cross the short hall to stand only a foot away from you, you had to look up to keep eye contact. Reaching over to put his own out and he leaned over you, face only a few inches away from your own. “Will you please let me take you home, miss Y/L/N.” he said more of a statement, not asking again.
His eyes captivated you, like looking at the sky through diamonds. You nodded softly. Your face felt hot and your knees felt weak. You could smell his cologne mixed with whisky and smoke, it was almost intoxicating. “My father.” you almost forgot you should let him know you'd be going and not to worry.
Tommy nodded and took a step back. “I'll have someone send him word that I'll be taking you home.”
And that was it, Tommy was leading you to get your coats and talking to a few staff on the way out.
“The flower shop, yours then?” he asked, glancing over to you, a cigarette hanging from the corner of his mouth as he drove.
You smiled and nodded. “Yes, it was owned by an older woman before me but she sold it to live with her daughter since she couldn't manage much work anymore.” you loved your shop, small and perfect and just close enough to the rich people that you get decent enough business. “Flower arranging has always been something I've been good at, and I can grow most of what I need from my fathers, so much land he doesn't know what to do with it and my mother loves to help.”
Tommy watched you speak passionately about your shop. He thought it was adoring that you had something so personal and simply yours and you built a life with it.
You fell into comfortable conversation, Tommy telling you about his past marriage to Grace and his son Charley. You told him about your siblings and the kids. You both agreed that big families are wonderfully exhausting.
The drive to your small apartment wasn't very far and Tommy knew almost immediately where it was since it was right in Birmingham and only a few blocks from the garrison he had explained. His car ame to a stop outside of your steps.
Getting out Tommy came around and opened your door, you took his extended hand and stepped onto the cobble street. “Thank you Mr. Shelby.” you said, looking up at him in the dim light, face mostly shadowed.
“Please, call me Tommy.” he encouraged.
“Tommy.” you said, trying it out.
He smiled. “There you go, love.”
Your heart practically skipped a beat. “ It's late, you should be getting home as well.” you pointed out, becoming nervous once again.
Humming Tommy took a step towards you, reaching to gently take your fingers into his hand and brought them to his lips. He lingered a moment, eyes on your own before his soft lips pressed against your skin. He pulled away and let your hand fall back to your side. “Have a lovely night miss Y/L/N, i'll be seeing you then.” he said, leaning on his car as he waited for you to make it inside.
You knew your face was red when you nodded and let yourself in, slowly traveling up the stairs in awe at just how smooth Tommy Shelby swooped in and took your breath away with a simple action.
Entering your home you stopped in the middle of the living room, did he say, ‘I’ll be seeing you’? Did that mean he was going to come back… or at more events? You decided you had enough excitement for one night and tomorrow you could panic over underlying meanings to sentences and be interrogated by your father, tonight you just needed sleep.

“ I couldn't bear to see you suffer that fate. ”

(sunny's note) ☆ i've been so up and down this week, maybe that's why this exist. this is the last post before july, happy pride by the way! inspo from "You Got Me So High" - The Neighbourhood.
Tumblr media
When did the air got so tense between the two of you? You and Jisung has been friends for years, best friends even. Though it was perfectly logical for you to feel upset, when he showed up out of the blue after five years of ghosting you. Five whole years, he got you waiting and begging for a reply on the other line, just to find out that he fled to elsewhere.
Regardless of what he did, you agreed to meet him to catch up on things. But maybe it was a bad idea, you didn't know how to start a conversation, and neither did Jisung. What would you talk about to him? 'How have you been?' 'Isn't the weather today so weird?' 'Why did you leave without saying anything?'
"I hope you're not mad at me, for what happened between us." Jisung said, his eyes were on the floor since he couldn't bring himself to face you. He was not the best at dealing with serious situations like what was unfolding now.
You nodded, "Don't worry, I'm fine." No, you were disappointed, were absolutely furious. But you had to save face, and blowing up on him was not going to solve anything. When Jisung left, your entire group fell apart. As if he was holding them together, because Jisung was close to everyone and was a vital part. So when he decided that he have had enough with all of you, everyone began going on their own ways as well. Only a few you still kept in contact with, remained friends.
"The past is in the past." You told, your fingers digging into the glass surface of your drink.
"[Y/N], even if you are, it's fair, I understand." Jisung added. He knew, he knew it all that back then he shouldn't have left so sudden. And he knew, to ease his mind that would not rest; he had to mend things with the people he had once caused pain. Starting with you, the hardest person out of everyone. You weren't a terrible person per se; it was just that you were mentally straining for him to face. Especially after what he had done to you.
You meant too much to him, too much to bear for a fact. Everything, everything ached inside. His emotional unavailability, your romantic feelings; they didn't seem to mix. At night, he stayed up with his head filled with regrets. If only he could have been a better person for you, if only his dumb self could accept the love you gave him, if only things didn't end this badly. Was he too late already? Now that he was living better without you, it felt wrong to say so. Oh, he wished he could have been this version of himself when you two were still friends. Yet, as much as he hated to admit; he couldn't have progressed if he chose to stay. Maybe it was all written in the book; that he had to go on his own for the story to continue.
Jisung almost wished that you didn't say 'I love you' back then, all of this mess wouldn't have happened; and maybe you two could remain as friends. But no, he was so overjoyed when you asked him out—simply because you were his first relationship. Though there were doubts, he was afraid of something that he couldn't quite grasp just yet. Feelings stood in the way of friendship, no longer friends, but he couldn't comprehend the fact that you two were lovers either.
"How are the others? Have you been talking to them?" Jisung switched topic, an attempt to push away his emotions. Flashing a smile, forcefully, to the point where his facial muscles felt a bit sore.
You changed the direction of your gaze, sipping your drink as you gazed at the scenery out in the window. "I've only been talking to Felix, I'm not sure about the rest."
"Well, is he doing fine then?" He kept going, he wasn't in a good mental state to talk about 'us' right now. However, the more he tried to deviate from the main topic and his feelings with other trivial matters, they came for him when he began to notice how much changes happened in the duration of his absence. Even you, whom he thought he knew well, didn't feel like the you from his hazy memories. You talked differently, dressed differently, acted differently. Not anymore, the you he once fell in love with, the you he called his best friend. Who was this person sitting in front of him?
The atmosphere has never been as awkward as it was in this moment; he was trying not to cry and you were hesitating at addressing the actual problem. You didn't want to hurt him, though, you were denying the fact that he hurt you. Han Jisung disappeared and came back another person, you hated that you still would love him regardless of how much he may change.
"Felix is doing fine, you should give him a call sometime, I'm sure he would love to speak to you." You told, turning your eyes on him.
"What have you been up to, Jisung?" Asked, shifting the spotlight over to him. You were curious of where he went after leaving, he definitely had a glow-up from how much more attractive he became.
You could tell that he learned to take care of himself, developed a sense of style. But you saw right through that shell, after everything, he was still there. The boy you loved before, sitting across from you and chatting with you, as if none of the things that tore you apart ever existed.
A week ahead of this meet-up, he had a dream. Where you were there, in a house party full of people. As soon as he spotted you, his feet gravitated towards your direction. However, in a split second, he physically hesitated. Despite how much his heart yearned for you, his mind couldn't bring itself to be rejected. Maybe it was a way of self-defence, to further maintain the silence, keeping himself away from you was the best option. Much rather he would stay quiet, until you forget about him entirely so you wouldn't get hurt once again.
Though, he didn't know what happened. Because he did approached you, and being face-to-face with his fear was terrifying. That was a sign, dreams were suspected to convey messages of our waking life. He had to, so much regrets and distress had built up throughout the long, lonely years about the same subject, make amends with his best friend—you.
"I missed you, [Y/N]." Jisung blurted out, his eyes glossy as he tried to look at you. His true dream was to be with you.
He couldn't stop thinking about you when he left, and he wondered, did you ever think of him too? Jisung despised himself for one thing, that deep down inside he wanted to see you miserable without him. If you were absolutely shitty when he wasn't in the picture, he would gladly come back to regain the position of the light of your life. But as he matured, he realized that he was the problem. Once making you the antagonist of his story, and everyone else treated him terrible. In actuality, he was the most toxic person. Abuser never really notice their actions to be abuse, guess he was the wolf in sheep's clothing all along. How could he?
Keeping a conversation going was never as difficult as it was for the two of you, there was just this invisible wall of sort that created distance between you and Jisung. The rain had stopped for a bit, hopefully you could get home by the time it start again.
"Do you have a ride? Or I can drive you home." Jisung offered, gesturing to his parked motorbike by the sidewalk.
"Wouldn't it rain soon?" You asked.
"It would be more fun." Jisung smiled, guiding you to his vehicle. You glanced down at his forearm, the scars of the past was still there and has yet to fade completely. You remembered, crying and begging him to not do anything stupid when he walked in with his arms all wrapped in bandages. Seeing them once more was strangely relieving, you were glad that he had chose to stay.
For old times' sake, you got on the back of his motorbike. You used to be the one driving, while he held onto you as you brought him sight-seeing. One time where he received a call from you, just minutes after you bid him goodbye and drove away; caught him off guard when you started crying because you fell off your motorbike on the side of the road. He didn't know what to do, why didn't you call your mom or the hospital instead of him? He was worried sick and was miles away from where you were. Your youth were filled with him, in a way, your friendship was all you knew.
You hugged his waist, leaning your body against his back as you rested your head on his shoulder. Things felt slow, with Jisung around and it was a comatose. If only this moment could last a little longer, and your destination was a little farther. You would absolutely trade anything to have things back to how it used to be—Jisung would happily do the same. As scared as he was to reconnect with you, he desperately wanted and needed to, because he treasured you too much.
You spoke up into the summer breeze, "You know what, Jisung? I am upset, and I hate you! What are you going to do about that?" You didn't want him to come back into your life, just to cause you pain. Both has grown from mistakes, both has came into terms that you and him has hurt one another.
"You're my best friend, [Y/N], I'll love you forever!" Jisung beamed, the gummy and bright smile whenever he think about you.

Prompt 23 with JJ?? where JJ and Reader get into a fight and it kinda starts with angst (the prompt) but ends with fluff and just JJ feeling horrible after everything that happened? It’s okay if not!
I love this, this is a perfect storm of angst and healing!
Tumblr media
"Hey, what happened?" I catch JJ's wrist before he can walk past me and into the Twinkie, John B's incessant eyes stalking JJ as he stops, interrupting their journey into town. Of course, right when I get here they're going off on some secret mission.
"Don't wanna talk about it." He mutter, turning his chin so I can't completely see the bruises littering his cheeks but I can see enough, enough to make my blood boil with anger.
"JJ, you're face is smashed in, I think you need to talk about something." I scoff, looking past him and at our friends who sit in the old, beat up van, their eyes going from a look of impatience to a look of concern and sadness.
"Fine, I don't want to talk about it." He turns to me with stern eyes, asking me quietly to drop it and I gulp, looking up at him through my lashes with a drooped frown.
"Okay, I'm just saying if you did want to talk about-"
"For gods sake please just drop it and stop fucking nagging me, alright?" He asks in a loud tone, taking me completely off guard as my jaw drops and eyes widen but not in a look of fear, instead a look of utter and complete disappointment. The JJ I love would never talk to me like that. "Wait, Y/n I'm sorry-" I spin around on my heel, making my way towards the Chateau to wait for them, deciding to be done with this conversation before it gets any worse.
"No, I'm going. You made it clear that you don't want my help, you don't want to talk." I hear John B call out JJ's name and the blonde shoves a finger into the air as his desperate eyes flicker back and forth between mine. "You don't have to worry about answering to me anymore, I'm done." I sit down onto the steps with a sigh, looking up at him with teary eyes.
"You're dumping me?" He asks with a cracked voice, blue eyes suddenly red and not from the weed he abuses his body with.
"You want space, you've got it."
"Stop, wait-" He holds his hands up, quickly rushing down to sit beside me and I glare at him, waiting for him to apologize like I know he will. "Stop, I'm sorry." He whispers, turning to me completely, ignoring the way the Twinkie drives off without him. "Fuck I'm sorry." He reaches out to me, taking me in his arms and I let him, just because I know him and I know his anger, I know he reacts poorly so sometimes he just needs the push.
"You’ve always pushed people away, JJ. I just never thought you’d do it to me." I whisper, cradling the back of his head as he shakes his head.
"I'm not trying to. I know you want me to talk about my dad, I can't right now, okay? I'm okay, I'll be okay." He leans back, cupping my cheeks in his strong hands, sincere eyes flickering back and forth between mine. "I'm sorry, please don't leave me."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to push." I shake my head with a sad smile, knowing that I crossed the line but only out of love for him, wanting and needing to get into his head to know what he's going through. He can't just keep it bottled up forever.
"You didn't, you're my girl, I should just talk to you." I smile, placing a hand on his cheek as I lean towards him to give his lips a small peck while whispering.
"Your girl."

Silent Prayer
─────────────────────────✩★✩─────────────────────────
Author's Notes: So, I actually haven't written in a while and for those who liked my previous stories I apologize. I deleted them from the account and forgot that I didn't have them saved so they are gone forever. Recently I have been hard on myself about that plus my writing. I ended up going inactive and recently going into the DC fandom, especially because of my love for Jason Todd, I got back into writing again. This is the first time I've written for Jason, bunch of scrapped ideas before this, so if it feels out of character I must apologize. Anyway, enough of my talking. Please enjoy!
────────────────────
「WC: 889」
「Summary: He's unable to sleep but maybe a little music will coax him into sleeping」
「Warnings: I don't use Y/N, This might be a little sad tbh, Nothing explicit just wholesome fluff, This is shorter than I originally thought it would be but I'm okay with this」
────────────────────
Tumblr media
「Song name: "In Dreams" by Roy Orbison. In case you'd like to listen to it while reading look it up on either YouTube or Spotify.」
───────────────
It was never silent. Not in Gotham City. From the police sirens to either the neighbors or the people outside the apartment building going on about their lives. No one pays any mind, depending on where you're looking, to the fact that this place was one of the biggest shitholes. No one could tell Jason otherwise. He'd lived on the streets, did things that he shouldn't have done but he needed to survive, and he witnessed first hand just how god awful the people in the city can be. All of that had been seen on repeat, through the eyes of a child. Was he proud of his past? Depends but for the most part no.
Reflecting doesn't help. He knew that. It only made things come back and the emotions left him sour. Especially when the original point was to sleep, something he was having trouble doing. Again.
Jason sat up, the blanket pooling at his hips as he ran a hand through his hair. The sound of a vehicle honking caused him to lift his head, looking at the window blinds. A few seconds pass by before he relaxes. "Hmm..." The softness of your voice drew his attention along with the blanket moving as you turned over onto your left side. "Jason," "Go back to sleep, baby." He crooned, stopping you from continuing your sentence then leaning down to you, his hand pushing some of your hair out of your face as your eyes started to flutter open. "Shh, just go back to bed. Everything is alright." He was bullshitting, but not to worry you. Jason knew that you'd be up without another second if you knew his insomnia was bothering him again. "Just sleep." His hand gently cupped your cheek as he kept whispering coaxing words to ease you back into sleep, blissfully unaware of his suffering. "Jay," Through tired eyes you look at him, the darkness of the bedroom hides his face, however, you could make out the look he gave you. A soft, reassurance that would have fooled anyone else if they didn't know him well enough, that is if they ever broke past that permanent scowl he always had. The look alone drew a huff from you. "Liar." He froze, the look quickly morphing into a disappointed frown. "Please, sleep. Don't worry about me. I'll be okay." He brought forth a small smile, his hand caressing your cheek. "Trust me, you need more sleep than I do, I'll be alright." "Jason..." He shook his head, stubbornness kicking in as he leaned closer and pressed his lips against your temple then pulled away. "You're gonna go back to bed, no arguing about it." You whined at his stubbornness and although that made him chuckle, he wasn't going to let up. You pulled a hand from under the blanket, lifting it and grabbing his arm. "No. I'm not giving up that easily, Jason." He bit back a groan at your stubbornness, internally kicking himself for hoping that you'd actually give in to his demand. You sat up slowly and let go of his arm as you reached over to the end table on your side, grabbing your phone.
It was still early in the morning and Jason clearly wasn't having a good night so far. "Jay, it's 4:37 A.M." He groans at the observation and leaning back against the headboard. "I know, Genius..." He grumbles, looking away from you completely. "You're welcome." You mumble, now going through your phone. A few seconds of silence go by before the room is filled with soft music from your phone.
"I softly say, a silent prayer like dreamers do"
He glances over to you, the song playing as you set your phone back onto the end table. "Music?" You nod, looking at Jason. "Why not? Might help you sleep." "Not really my type of music." "Too bad, you've got to deal with it since it's my choice." You lay back down, scooting over to him and throwing an arm over his hips, burying your face into the side of his thigh. "Who's the artist?" "Roy Orbison." He nods his head slowly, the name not sounding familiar to him. "Melancholy as hell though." He added, looking down at you and resting his hand on the back of your head. "Mm." Your eyes flutter closed, the soft tempo of the song starting to lull you back to sleep.
"In dreams, you're mine all of the time"
He leans his head back. Taking in the lyrics and how somber they are. "Actually, they are kinda peaceful." He whispers, his fingers running through your hair. "Except for the "Candy-colored clown" bit... That part doesn't sound all peaceful to me." A light scoff comes from Jason as he stares at the bedroom door and feeling his eyelids become heavier as the song continues to play.
"In beautiful dreams"
He blinks a few times as a wave of sleepiness crashes over him but he pulls himself back and gently pulls your arm from his hips. You make a small noise of protest as he lays down, pulling you into his arms once he's laying on his right side. You sigh in content, relaxing again and peacefully resting as Jason's eyelids close. The melody of the song coaxes him into a dreamless sleep.

I need to apologize I need to take a break for a while I might occasionally post something Eddsworld related but yeah going to take a break I'm a very mentally ill person and sometimes during a mental breakdowns I do some not great things mostly just cry and wish death upon myself and tell people that they deserve so much better than me which sadly I still agree with I generally don't understand why anybody wants to do with me but they do the main reason why I wanted to take a break because of my disappointment in the team on Eddsworld
I don't dislike them but there's certain attributes about the team that I'm not a big fan of me and one of my friends agree that Matt's kind of seems a little greedy now I know especially one of my fans / friends will disagree and you know what she has the right to feel that way I like Matt but he's kind of seeming like he's a little greedy with certain things but that's just me no one's truly perfect I'm not a big fan though so they did the Yootuz thing with tord like the man just wants to be left alone you probably what about the end part 1 and 2 honestly yeah it's kind of the same thing but when it comes to that at least it actually has some married to it because without tord it really would have been the end.
Anyways here's my opinion about the crew the animators no issue with really honestly I like no issue with 90% of the crew the only ones I have an issue with is really just I think I'll have an issue with Matt possibly to be fair I can judge him completely though we truly don't know what's going on behind the scenes and I guess diei because I texted him and he has never responded for like 2 weeks and it really bothers me even though he said he's busy a lot but at this point I just gave up sorry that he doesn't like me or something.
Also another issue I have is Beyond's kind of slowly going downhill like the comedies kind of stretched out and honestly that's all it's more commercialized and it's ever been which that I'm nutshell isn't bad but the marketing is like so forced it's kind of annoying and honestly like Tom's voice actor like makes a kind of worse because it's like it's like such a marketing voice it's kind of sad but you know he's a good voice actor so I can't hate him too much now with all these criticisms towards the crew do I hate Eddsworld no do I need to take a break from them yes it does not help the fact I am still grieving over my father in my mental health is slowly decreased ever since his passing and I worry that I'm going to say something wrong so I should probably take a break.
That doesn't mean I'm completely done with Eddsworld forever though I think I'm forever stuck to it call me edd head addict if you will but I think it's time for me to step down for a little bit I hope you all be okay and understand it it might not be a long break to be honest cuz my attention spans like a nutshell so I don't know I do know one thing I'll never talk any of the Eddsworld members ever again Miuns if they want to talk to me or something which we all know they don't want to. But yeah um its edd day soo yeah im tried so gn

Howdy once again! Are you still up for Yandere One Piece? I was wondering how Smoothie, Amande, and Galette would react to seeing the mark/tattoo of the Celestial Dragons on their fem darling for the first time. Like the darling was very guarded of their back and refused to undress when someone was nearby. Pretty much the darling did everything to avoid it being seen. If you aren't up for this or it's not your thing then thank you regardless and have a wonderful day alright?
You know I'm always up for some yandere content of my favourite fam.
VENGEANCE SHALL BE MINE
Tumblr media
🍹It probably was an accident, she didn't know you were changing when she entered your room. Although, she understood why you were so reticent to let her see your back. It was probably your gasp and trembling form that brought her back from the spiral she went in. You were frightened, but let her be damned if she was going to blame you.
🍹If you want to change back in peace without her she will absolutely understand, but if you think it's time to tell her the story let it be so. She won't pry into a tragic past. She knew the mark, but hearing you tell her the story behind that, and why you felt the need to hide it made her visibly upset. Anger couldn't begin to cover what she was feeling.
🍹If you feel comfortable, she would like to hug you tight, and hide you in her embrace forever. You probably felt better knowing she accepted that part of you, and you felt comforted. She promised you vengeance, but all you needed at the moment was peace and some comfort. It was in the past, true, but if it so happened that a wandering celestial dragon stumbled upon Tottoland...I'm sure Mama wasn't going to object to her...welcome. She swore to protect you, and she will do just so. Trust her
Tumblr media
⚔️ Her silence probably put you even more on edge. You would have taken anything, even disgust, but not her silence. It was deadlier than any sea king you knew. "A-Amande..." ,but still the Ice Queen said nothing. Her body seemingly frozen in time. Temperature dropped. You could feel your heart thumping. "They did something... unforgivable. I know you may not care for vengeance, but I promise you, darling. Nothing shall happen to you anymore"
⚔️ You would have been even more scared, had she not said anything. But being accepted was more than enough, but being brought into one of her hugs was even better. She asked if you wanted to change alone, and whatever your answer would have been, she would have respected it. In her eyes, you were one of the few strong people she recognized. And to take that step forward in her eyes meant trust.
⚔️ Much like her big sister, if any celestial dragon enters the land, she will probably kill them and make it look like an accident. No one touched what was effectively hers, that was a grave crime. But to even distress you so much to have the need to hide it, no that was something that could not be neither forgiven not forgotten. Mama will understand, she always did.
Tumblr media
🫓 You felt bold in that moment, what could possibly go wrong, you thought. Well...she was on the verge of an hysterical breakdown. You felt... ashamed. You thought she was feeling like this because of your past. But you didn't expect her to drape her coat on you and hug you so tight, your ribs protested. You realized in that moment why she felt like that.
🫓 "My sweet sweet love. What have they done to you?", her rocking back and forth somewhat soothed your inner turmoil. Bits by bits you told her why such...mark was bestowed upon you. If you didn't know any better you would have mistaken her shaking for crying. No, no, she was disappointed, in herself and angry at the same time. She should have noticed. She should have done more.
🫓 "My sweet love, don't worry. In my eyes you are and have always been perfect. I'll make sure no one comes and disturb you anymore. I promise you", kisses on your cheeks were inevitable with her. But this time they meant more. She may not have the strength of her siblings, but she's sure that if she asked, they would all help without questions. Of course they would. No one harms a Charlotte and lives to tell the tale.

Ooooh thank you for playing with me! I enjoyed your answers!
You write both Ed and Stede beautifully, but I totally get what you mean about getting into Ed's hornet's nest!
Funny, I don't really listen to music as I write because I get too distracted, but I love linking songs to scenes. Weird.
Awww... I'm freakishly proud that my words could make you cry. You'll never know how much your comments and support mean to me.
I made myself cry when I finished AWoTT because I hate the last few chapters. They did a real disservice to the story because I rushed and tried to write something readers would like instead of what I'd done for most of it. On top of that, I ruined the Buttons/Jeanne d'arc ending because I worried that it would seem like I was ripping off the show. They were both supposed to turn into birds. I can't face trying to fix it. (If you haven't read the end, don't waste your time, and if you did and were disappointed we are on the same page.)
Eeek! Sorry for the ramble... xoxoxo
Before I get to the actual reply to this ask: if y'all haven't been treated to A World of Tempestuous Things, one of the top-five best fics in the fandom, I'm gonna need you to drop everything and read it the way I did whenever I got a notification that a new chapter had been posted.
Re: the ask itself:
I'm sorry you're dissatisfied with how it turned out but if it's any consolation it felt like a fitting end to me! The first time I tried to read the final chapter I literally couldn't for all the tears in my eyes because I knew it was ending. I no longer have a neutral relationship with any of the songs you used for the section titles, especially "Don't Dream It's Over" because god if that didn't just get at the root of everything I felt about the fact that your fic existed. I miss your versions of Ed and Stede terribly and it's gonna be a tall order for anyone but David Jenkins to make them half so indelible to me. I felt like I was watching actual people I loved sail away forever.
I started reading it around when it was halfway through I think? It shouldn't have immediately worked for me when I first started. I was burning out a bit on reunion fics and I thought of myself as someone who didn't love when fics had too many OCs and those OCs got a lot of time in the story, not to mention my strict no-WIP rule, but whatever made me read it must have been fate or something. That and the reflectiveness of the characters and the times the prose knocked me off my feet and the usually gutting historical interstitials (I still think about/am haunted by the Chopin one at least once a week) and the lines I took screenshots of to send to my therapist. It's so much greater than the sum of its parts, and fiction like that can change things about a person's preconceived notions and personal tastes forever.
If I tried to list the things about it that are going to stay with me well, it would literally be easier for everyone if I just c/p the entire fic into this reply. It felt like such a journey that readers got to go on with both the characters and with the story on a like, metatextual level? It completely changed my relationship with high-quality WIPs. Now that I'm writing my first longfics I'm thinking about character and framing devices and POV voice in entirely new ways because I was fortunate enough to get the chance to read it. It's criminal that it's not in the top 5 most read fics in the fandom and I will not stop recommending it until that happens.
Even if you're not happy with the ending I think your readers are. This reader certainly is. And if you did want to go back and change it someday I have zero doubts that I'll be happy with that too. The fandom is richer for having your work in it.

hi! I hope you’re doing ok! I’ve never written an ask before so I have no idea how to do this, but you’re one of the only people I follow who is posting about Palestine, so I wanted to ask. And as a brown person I’m really worried rn.
Elections are next year and I’ve seen so many saying that people should vote for Biden because he’s at least better than Trump which is… I don’t know what to say, but it’s completely absurd. This is going to be my first time voting and all I get from people is the same “lesser of two evils” rhetoric. It’s genuinely disheartening to see that these are the only options that are shown to people. I was wondering about what you think of what’s happening, and whether voting third party seems possible
I’m sorry if this was rude to ask you, but thanks for taking the time to read this!
It's not rude, I'm glad I made you feel safe enough to ask this!
I only have one answer for you: Do not let anyone tell you who to vote for or make you feel like an evil person if you choose not to vote for the person they want you to.
Vote, definitely vote!!! Especially in local elections, those are the best ways to get people you want in power and they are in charge of a lot of important changes.
As for the presidential elections, I've had so many people I thought I admired or at least felt comfortable around attack me for my choice not to vote for Biden. I've had people claim I was spreading "pro-Trump propaganda" (which is just ridiculously bad faith in all ways), tell me that I—a queer POC—am anti-LGBTQ, and tell me I'll be deported.
They do this all while ignoring and invalidating the very real anger and hurt the Muslim and Brown populations of the US are dealing with, all because their comfort is being threatened. And instead of pressuring the party that's doing that harm and try to listen to why we feel so betrayed by Biden, they double down and attack us. In fact, they are showing their true colors. They, like Biden, only ever pretended to care about us. So I am going to vote for people who actually do care about me, even if they say I'm going to "waste my vote"
Here's the thing; as long as you vote for who you feel the most supported by, as long as you go into that voting booth and step out feeling good about your vote, then you are not wasting it.
Putting this under a read more cause it's getting long
Personally, I'm voting third party. I've had my eye on the Socialist Party but am also keeping an eye out for the others and whether or not they stand out to me
At this point, unless the DNC decides to put another candidate forward, which they most definitely won't, the Democratic party has lost me forever. I'm lucky that my Dem representative has at least shown they're on the right side of history, but I don't think I will ever vote for the Dem party again. I've forced myself to do it for the last decade and I've been disappointed or betrayed every time, so no more.
I agree this two party system is a joke and we are all being made to be a part of it when no other democratic nation has something like this. Even other countries say our "progressive" party is just centrist. And that just doesn't reflect my values.
Liberals and "vote blue no matter who" are going to tell you that you're wasting your vote by voting third party, but in actuality they are the ones supporting a flawed system that only benefits itself, not the people. The more people who vote third party, the more the dems will be pressured to put forth progressive candidates like AOC or Rashida who are actually on the left. By voting third party, you are saying you won't stand by a broken system any longer
does this mean Republicans might win and we get another trump administration? Yes, probably, but here's the thing: when you look at the last 3 years, and I mean really look at it, have things improved all that much under biden? I, as a queer poc can't say that it has. Both are evil, one just pretends not to be. At this point I see no difference between Trump and Biden. Both don't give a shit about me.
The lesser of 2 evils is still evil, why vote for them? Why would I vote for either of them?
Why would I reward anyone who support genocide and cheers for it? Both Trump and Biden openly do. Their only difference is Biden is a better actor.
If my people were the ones being slaughtered (and they were. For a long long time they were), would I be okay with sitting back and letting these parties walk all over me? No, I don't think I would be.
The fact of the matter is that change does not come fast or easy. These things take time and pressure and a refusal to give in. Voting for Biden after all the horrible things he's done the past couple years is just rewarding a system that is fundamentally broken. You can keep trying to chug along on a broken wheel hurtling you towards doom, or you can take the time to force it to change.
I do believe the younger vote has a big chance to change things, to pressure our government to actually support its people, not just the white ones with money.
Ultimately you get to decide who to vote for. Use your right to vote, don't ignore it and don't waste it by voting for someone you don't actually believe in.
