Day 1/100: Today, I just finished my assignment. But I am beginning the 100 days of productivity challenge to ensure progress! We'll see how this goes :D
honestly you probably shouldn't go into the medical profession if you aren't prepared to treat patients with dignity and respect - even if your job exploits you, even if your bosses suck, even if you're exhausted.
yes, you are allowed to have feelings and be tired. but you have to be willing and able to either admit when you can't do something (and take the consequences), or put how you feel aside and do your job. for the sake of your patient.
you and your job may be harmed by the medical industrial complex's wrongness, but to your patients, you are part of the complex that is also gravely failing them. you have the power to be a force of goodwill and care, or an instrument of oppression.
that is what you're signing up for when you become a medical professional. don't like it? don't become a medical professional.
one of my hobbies is observing how different iterations of tmnt understand and use colors, for both the backgrounds and the character
87 feels like they're going to a consistent, realism look that's vaguely dependent on the setting. The stuff that should be kinda grey and brown is grey and brown with a little bit of color for the lighting. I imagine some of what they do is restricted because it's actually painted sets rather than. yknow. a digital background. The turtles Mostly stand out well enough, other than raph and donnie in that first picture they're getting a bit lost.
03 looks like they've begun to experiment with contrast, using bright colors to distinguish that Thing from the rest of the scene, but they don't do much with the turtles or the characters so sometimes they disappear into the background, like with the shot of raph on the roof. at a thumbnail size, we'd only know he's there because of his shell.
I have a hard time describing 2012's coloring. Maybe just because it uses 3d models. It utilizes both a strong sense of contrast while also maintaining a little bit of a monotone dingy darkness. Just scrolling through screenshots of a single episode yeilds a variety of scenes with strong color palettes.
rise, we all know it, i don't have to talk about it. Super vibrant colors and strong contrast. Not holding a singular color palette as sacred and putting importance on how a Vibe would color a scene, still making it beautiful while ensuring your characters stand out. i think there's also an element of fading unimportant far away things out but don't Quote me on that
I literally love Dokja and Joonghyuk's ship dynamic. It's so funny. They're so whipped for each other and yet on the outside they're like blank faces, murderous looks, rude to each other, insults the other every two seconds -
Can y'all imagine a professor au where the entire student body is just convinced these two are bitter enemies, only to realize in the end that they've been married for 20 years?
They didn't take each other's last name. The confusion is understandable. And the students are in disbelief even after they realize, so it's like:
Student: Professor Kim, I thought you hated him?
Dokja, with an absolute straight face: oh I do, feel free to tell that sunfish bastard that I'm going to smother him in his sleep tonight for the insurance payoff
Another Student: Professor Yoo, what do you really think of Professor Kim?
Joonghyuk, squinting down at his marking that he's completing in the university cafe: he's a sewer rat and I haven't known a second of peace since I met him 23 years ago
Kim Dokja: [wandering past on his way to the counter, absently giving Joonghyuk a kiss on the back of the head without looking away from his phone]
Joonghyuk, blank faced: Disgusting
Dokja halfway across the room: [flips Joonghyuk off over his shoulder]
can you imagine being a hardworking thirty-something bouncing ball corp employee in like idk sales or some shit who spent YEARS before that trying to climb the corporate ladder and succumbing to the 9-5 workhorse race that makes you dead inside but now your boss is a college kid who shows up to important company meetings in sweats and brings his homework to the office so he can get it done on time and haphazardly stuffs paperwork and legal documents into the same binders as his lecture notes and doesn’t give a shit if you don’t properly file for time off bc he can barely be assed to email his professors the same and will still PAY you for it????? can you imagine???? i can’t but it’d be REALLY fucking funnny
Imagine how many people JUST LIKE HER are in ICU, TRAUMA, BIRTH AND DELIVERY, NICU, STEP-DOWN UNITS, PYSCH WARDS, ELDERLY CARE, OBGYN, CARDIOLOGY, POST OP CARE, etc…
very interesting to me that the big three of the current hero gen in mha - shouto, midoriya and bakugo - are often portrayed as also being the closest in a lot of fics bc it's like. you've got shouto's two best friends as a boy with a volatile personality fuelled by his blind ambition and desperation to be the best, and a boy whose quirk destroys his body. like if you combined two of shouto's best friends you'd get touya but we're just not supposed to redeem him. okay
