Phee and Jin as parallels in DFF episode 7

I feel like I haven't seen enough people talk about how Phee and Jin are parallels in episode 7. Both reacting in anger in ways that damage Non, and that they likely carry guilt for in the future...

Spoilers for episode 7 below:

In episode 7, we see both Jin and Phee react to Non badly after finding out that Non has had sex with Keng. And the way they both react to that information is... not good.

Phee reacts to the knowledge that Non has been "cheating on" him (I'd like to remind people that Non was coerced so we as the audience shouldn't label it that way, but from Phee's POV that's what it was) by telling Non to "get lost and die"

And he says this despite knowing that Non has su*cidal tendencies and tried to take his own life what seems like mere days before this.

I feel like people gloss over this because they understand why Phee is angry. And I understand too. But the point still stands that Phee basically tells Non to go k!ll himself despite knowing that the consequences of that could be dire... and permanent. If Non actually d!es, disappears, or heaven forbid actually kills himself after this? I don't doubt that Phee will carry the guilt of those final words for the rest of his life, and think of what he could've and should've done differently to prevent that unfortunate fate...

On the other hand, Jin. Who reacts to seeing Non sleeping with someone by recording him. Jin isn't shown to post the video himself, but he still made that snap decision in anger. Copper has said Jin reacted this way because he thought Non was cheating on his boyfriend...

But regardless of his intentions, the fact remains that the video he recorded is the one that was later released. And you can see on his face even in the past that he feels bad about it, feels guilty for his part in what happened. And in the present you see that same guilt...

There's a parallel drawn between these two boys. The two leads of this series who have revolved around Non this entire time. One with a crush, one, his boyfriend. Both dealing with harsh emotions and dragged into the mess that's been created by the others. They both react in anger to the same situation, both do something INCREDIBLY damaging to Non in a snap moment of anger. And both of them, I'm sure, carry that guilt into the future...

It changes Jin from a happy, smiley person into one who is serious and harsh to his friends, who has a damaged relationship with those closest around him, who calls himself a coward and wants to run to another country and never come back.

And it changes Phee from someone who whole-heartedly loves and asks the person he loves to be his boyfriend... to someone who can't get the words out, who seems afraid of commitment. Because he could get hurt? Or because he could hurt them again?

The impact of these actions have changed both boys in the present, and the parallels in the episode are so striking and interesting... and I don't think people talk about it enough. There's potential for a compelling story about these two learning to heal and forgive themselves.

And I hope the show delivers on it, because it would be an incredibly deep and compelling story that touches on dark pieces of humanity that we all carry. The guilt and shame of not always being our best person, and the impacts that has on the people around us. It could show something really touching and heartfelt if these two people who were kids during all of this can learn to forgive each other, forgive themselves, and move into the future together.

As a kid I was always curious of people and how they act but no matter how much I tried I could never understand emotions. One time they'll die for someone and the other minute you mean nothing to them. I felt as if people are hypocrites. They'll be nice and respectful to your face but say the nastiest things at your back.

As I grew up, my curiosity to understand people flew away and have never seen it since then. I want to isolate myself from society but I think I will not survive alone. I could never understand humans and understanding a community is way worse. At first they'll make you become addicted to company and when you'll want to live alone, the side effects of this addiction will cause you to k*ll yourself. What a great scam is that.

An author would describe your character as a person who can't / isn't able to understand humans and always feels like an outcast. They try to find meaning in meaningless things and is sort of gloomy. Who hopes to find someone or something to live by. But gets depressed in the way, in the end the only hope they have left is themselves.

I want to explore this world, explore the highest mountains to the deepest caves, from the blue oceans to the evergreen forests. This world makes me excited. This world is magical. People who don't believe in magic are missing out on great excitements. Like we are literally living on a magical rock that is floating around in a pit of mysteries and mysterious things.

I have some abilities , magical abilities so to precise and with those abilities comes a lot of responsibilities. I am not saying I don't like that but I want sometime for myself. All day long just looking after people and fighting off evil is tiring. People say I'm special but what about me? Do I not have the right to enjoy my life? I absolutely love helping people and love being victorious. But sometimes I just want to run away alone. Away from all these responsibilities , just me alone.

An author would describe your character as an extremely passionate person who is an explorer. You will definitely be in a fantasy novel being the main character, your character will have a lot of responsibilities considering you'll have magical abilities. You'll solve mysterious , help people and fight off evil. Your character would be described as a happy and joyous person who is tried of responsibilities.

My parents always told me that being a royal meant not having loyal and real friends . I didn't believe them because I had real friend or so I thought. Point to be noted HAD. The people who I thought were my friends come out to be the most poisonous snakes. I'm wondering how the fuck did I survive all that. I believed everything they said, entrusted my secrets to them and even gave them a luxurious life.

Guess they took me for granted. Growing up I hated the word "revenge". Just hearing it gave me chills because I didn't understand why would people want bad for the people they once cared for. But I guess life had different plans for me. Hah! Never knew the word I hated so much growing would become the main motive of my life. Now all I can think about is the word I hated so much. It's true when they say you became what you despise. So kids never hate something, who knows you might become it in future.

You would be described as a character who is of royal background and and had suffered a lot of betrayal in their life. After going thought all these Betrayals and heart breaks you character would have no choice but to want revenge. Funny how I'm not seeing any romantic interests here because you novel would have a revenge plot.

People always told me how lucky I was to be born in the imperial family. They always told how I was their future and forced their customs on me from a very young age. The dance lessons, the history classes and the courtesy lessons meant nothing to me. I never wanted to become the Emperor/Empress. I never asked for all that.

Maybe if I was born in a normal family I would have enjoyed what a family environment is? Only then I would have known what love is. Maybe I should just run away? Maybe I should fake my death? But doing this will take a lot of courage I don't have. I never stood up for myself. I don't know what being real is anymore. I wish to find myself, I wish to find the child who lost his/her childhood. Who never got to enjoy life. Will I find what people call love if I run away? A few friends I guess? Who knows maybe I would die like this? Maybe.....

Another oyal character but in your story, your character would be forced to act a certain way, you know to satisfy the society on how a royals should be, how they are forced to act in front of people. Your story would be about your character finding their true self that they thought they would never find. Letting go of customs of society and being their true self.

La squadra's part time jobs because we all know Diavolo doesn't pay them enough money to survive 🤣

They survive on Pesca's cooking 70% of the time but they still need to buy stuff for themselves 😅

Risotto ✂️: Bouncer

You are almost 2 mt tall, got black sclera and red eyes? We all know Risotto would use his scary appearence for something other than being an hitman.

He works part-time at Napoli's underground clubs as a bouncer and he is very requested not only for his intimidating looks, but especially for his serious attitude and because how prefessional he is; deals with drunk jerks, helps people who are bothered inside and out of the club...

Sure he hates when people flirt with him or try to push him to enter, but in the end he doesn't really mind.

Prosciutto 🍖: model

He knows he is a very good looking man; his posture is impeccable and he takes really good care of his appearence so why not use all that for good money?

He uses an alias, changes his usual hairstyle and is not very famous but whenever his teammates point his face on a low/medium brand product he smirks and says sh*t like " Well what can i say, la classe non è acqua~"

He also gets big discounts on the products he models for so is free shampoo, perfume and bath products in general for him and the boys.

Formaggio 🧀: bartender

With the nickname " Er sorcio " ( the rat ) he makes his way in all the bars in Napoli, pouring drinks and filling beer's glasses to the brim! His charming personality really helps with tips, especially cause he can make you think he's listening to all your problems while in reality is watching the game on the old tv behind your back.

His signature cocktail is the Hugo and his usual boss even tried to sign him up for a bartending contest but he playfully declined cause he may " k*ll the competition "

He sometimes steals some fancy bottles from the storage room but he is clever enough to do that when the owner is not around.

Illuso 🔎: make up artist

Do you know someone more narcissist than Illuso? Well meet his persona " Gianni Fashionista " and we'll see.

His over the top, snarky and mean-girl attitude and extremely good make up skills made him famous with the rich ladies of " Napoli Bene " and he uses this to gain the upper hand.

He may gossip with Signora Valeria while he prepares her for a charity event, spill the tea with Donna Annunziata about her daughter in law while painting her nails... Illuso crawled from the bottom to the golden top of the superficial, evil and fancy high class of Napoli and he loves it!

Melone 🍈: babysitter

Ok ok i know the majority of the people wouldn't trust this purple tuscan with a goldfish...BUT Melone is really good with kids!!

His experience with Babyface ( and the fact that his mother was a cold b*tch ) teached him everything he knows about how to properly take care of children, and said kids love him too!!

Melone takes them to the park, play pretend, fingerpaint with him is so so fun!! And at the end of the day the mothers always gives him a lil extra money cause they see how happy the children are when " Signor Lollo " comes around.

Nobody knows he may be teaching his favourites how to manipulate people around them to get what they want or how to dispose of a body BUT is just for fun...right?

Ghiaccio 🧊: driving instructor

Can we all appreciate how CUTE Ghiaccio would look with a white polo shirt, jeans and a red tie while he screams at his student during driving lessons? Absolutely adorable!

You can be sure of one thing, with him you won't only get your licence, you'll end up being actually afraid of commit infringement on the road!

Our favourite blue Veneto is a dangerous driver when he is on a mission but when he's teaching other people? He's ruthless and precise, will yell at you at the mininum mistake and at the end of the day his students still hear in their mind " LA FRECCIA D*OCANE!! METTI LA FRECCIA P*TTANA LA MADONNA!!"

Pesci 🐟: wedding planner

Who loves weddings? PESCI DOES!! And with him even the smallest ceremony will look like it came straight out of a fairytale!

No matter the weather, the guests, the priests or any kind of problem his clients might face; he has a solution and he isn't afraid to fight for his beloved brides!!

Zia Carmela is talking sh*t about wanting to seat near the groom? Nah sister, stay at your seat and BEHAVE!! The bride is worried her beloved's " cousin " might actually be his ex? Pesci will check on the background of EVERY female guests to reassure the lil sposina that she has nothing to worry about!!

You want your wedding to be perfect? Better call Pesci~

Welcome to my ted talk— today we are going to go on sleep deprived rant about how tall Tetsuya is because I’m slowly going insane.

The reason why any of this sprouted at all was because i was drawing a picture of Reiji and Testuya, and of course, I made testuya smaller than Reiji (Because I mean the snake man is canonically this gangle boy that’s all height and no muscle so obviously) aND then I started wondering to myself: How tall is Reiji compared to tetsuya? So I hopped onto my compute and googled it. Apparently snake boy is like 6 foot 2 inches, or around 189 cm rounded upwards. Not shocking, I knew he was tall so seeing that he was this 6 foot 2 gangle monster didn’t really phase me. This is where we get onto Tetsuya. Now— Beleive me when I say i could not find ANYTHING— NOT A SCRAP— of info that pertained to this man’s height. I looked in the wiki, I looked fan blogs where they calculate the person’s height which kinda surprised me because I didn’t think we had one for Beyblade, and STILL. NOTHING. So I do what any reasonable person does and I looked up to see if there was a side by side comparison of the characters from the show. Sadly, I wasn’t able to find one that was as technical as I wanted it to be, but I did find something that would help me on my quest— AND IT WAS THIS

It’s not the best quality but I had characters to work with. So, with that, I started googling. I tried looking up how tall Benkei was since he was the closet one to Testuya and they were almost similiar in height, but there was literally nothing. I don’t know how that, given that he’s probably one of the biggest and tallest people in the series— but YA KNOW— Then I had to search for an option I knew the height would show up on, so I searched for Gingka’s height. Sure enough, I was able to find it and the man is 5 ft 4 inches. (That. That killed me right there. The man is two inches taller than me. Guys, he’s such a short king—) So given that I was able to assume that Benkei at least has over a foot and less than a half of height on him, making him around 6 foot to 6 foot 6 inches. Now the reason why I make this assumption is mostly based off the Warrior Monk Saito Musashibo Benkei who Benkei himself is based after, who was rumored to be around 6 foot 6 inches. So let’s say he’s around that height. Now looking at it, it seems like Testuya is tall, but he’s not 6 foot 6 tall— which I can agree with. So WHY you may ask am I so riled up about this seemingly meaningless matter???? WELL I”LL TELL YOU. Tetsuya is slouching. SLOUCHING. I know that isn’t much but if this man where to stand STRAIGHT UP when he is side by side to Benkei THEY WOULD A FEW INCHES SHY OF BEING THE SAME HIEGHT. THE IDEA THAT THIS PISSY LITTLE CRAB MAN IS AROUND THE SAME HEIGHT AS BENKEI ASTOUNDS ME SIMPLY BECAUSE IT JUST SEEMS CURSED TO THINK ABOUT. And then of course that led me down the rabbit hole of why I’m making this post— THAT TESTUYA IS JUST AS TALL—IF NOT MORE SO TALL— THAN REIJI.

AND OKAY WHAT YOU”RE THINKING— but snuggles they’re both horrible and greasy characters who literally committed multiple crimes against children— TO THAT I SAY: Y E S. They have committed crimes, bUT IN MY AU THEY GO TO THERAPY AND BOTH LEARN REMORSE AND TRY AND LEARN TO BE BETTER AND MORE CARING HUMANS TO THEMSELVES AND OTHERS AND ALONG THE WAY THEY BECOME FRIENDS WHO TRY AND BETTER THEMSELVES. BUT JUST THINK SBOUT IT THOUGH— Reiji is so tall. He’s constantly having to have people look up, like ACTUALLY L O O K UP to him and being intimidated by his height. He would probably really insecure about how much he stands out. aND THEN ALONG COMES THIS CRAB MAN WHO IS TALLER THAN AND TALKS SO GOOFILY TO HIM AND REIJI JUST DOESN’T KNOW WHAT TO DO. That coupled with the fact that canonically how Tetsuya talks is literally like someone talking to a child (OKAY YOU MAY NOT BELIEVE ME BUT WATCH SOME OF HIS CLIPS BACK WHEN HE IS TALKING AND YOU”LL HERE IT I PROMISE) and that idea of him talking to Reiji, and Reiji being handled in a caring way he lacked when he was a kid is jUST— *BANGS MY FIST AGAINST THE TABLE* ITS— IT”S SO CUTE TO THINK ABOUT GUYS.

Well. That’s all for this rant. I am in a cold sweat from my pent up excitement and I am just about to head out to my work in Pulmonary. I really hope none of the patients have a medical emergency again. (Seriously, we had three medical emergencies yesterday bruh. They’re all okay but Jesus Christ the stress) UNTIL THE NEXT RANT MY FRIENDS.

i was honestly waiting to see when i'd get an ask like this; looks like i can cross it off my list for 2022

anyway, since i'm in a good mood and you've not been overtly rude, i.e. no slurs or death threats, i'll humour you

[i believe you’re talking about my bllk fic bc i don’t have anything else on here yet]

first of all, i'd like to stress that if we were talking about real life people, then i'm right there with you

but we are talking about fictional characters, not people but characters; both the defintion of fiction ("something invented by the imagination or feigned", merriam-webster) and of character ("one of the persons of a drama or novel", merriam-webster) support the idea that we are talking about made-up stories which are meant to be seen as a different entitiy or aspect from real life

the way i see it, fictional characters are merely a more defined blank slate with certain characteristics already set in place (although even those characteristics get thrown out of the window by some); they're a canvas the consumer of that medium can project thoughts or ideals or headcanons onto; that's why every character imaginable has been dragged into a hogwarts or soulmate au, characters who are canonically dead are suddenly alive and kicking again, etc.

i'd argue that authors are doing just the same with their characters as well; they create one and than just put them through all sorts of trials and tribulations like e.g. a post-timeskip era

take haikyuu!! for example (because it's also a sports manga/anime): the first 369 chapters were about the highschool volleyball team, so canonically speaking they were minors; but the second chapter 370 drops they are suddenly not anymore and that fic where 28 year old business man kuroo testsuro comes home to his partner and they decide to have kids is suddenly more appropriate than before? because the person with the magic pen drew the character at an age people already imagined them before? (also idk if such a fic exists, i'm making things up as i go... look at me using my imagination to expand upon a character /lh)

i think it's plausible blue lock will have a similar post-timeskip era some day, for all we know muneyuki kaneshiro might already have the characters’ futures planned out but we're just not at that part of the story yet

also, to bring this back to my content, when i say the characters are aged up in both my mind and the fic, then i mean it; and, i'd like to think you can also see that in my works, for example characters who own their own house, drive a car, move in with someone or have successfull careers... all things that are generally speaking adult things to do (because that is more appealing to me)

but that is just my opinion; fictional characters are canvases for people to project onto and if i want to live in our shared house with my professional striker boyfriend who loves me very much and occasionally rails me into the next year, then i will... here in my mind, on this page but unfortunately not in real life (the most unrealistic thing about this is being able to afford a house in this economy but i digress)

tl;dr characters are like schrödinger’s cat dead and alive at the same time /j

if you don't share that opinion, that's fine, we can both go our seprate ways and coexist; i just can't support people who throw slurs at others, mostly creators, or tell them to k*ll themselves over a piece of fictional literature written in their free time with no profit whatsoever (i'm not saying you are that kind of person anon, this is just a general statement because i've seen other writers receive much nastier asks)

if you are the kind of person who does that... i don't think i'm the problem here

to close this off, i'm willing to have a conversation about this as long as everyone remains civil and open for arguments from the other side; if you just come in my inbox to argue without even wanting to hear the other side out, i'm sorry but this is not the place for you

that he’s the most irritatingly gorgeous person shes ever met and to top it off he’s her archenemies and it INFURIATES her to no end sajknsak.. also how he COULD have informed the legate (his father) of her identity, he COULD have k*lled her himself especially with knowing that is what she’ll do to him at the first chance! he’s had every chance under the sun to finish her off once and for all so... why in the twins hasn’t he? and to add salt to the wound! as has she when it comes to the opportunities she's had to k*ll him! she's been alone with him in his office.. she could have then. she was DANCING with him at Samhain and she could have then. so what has been stopping her? she knows but she’ll take to her grave before then jasnxaks.

now if they could change things if they could? oh yea. on her end she wishes she could stuff her feelings in a box, lock that box, light it on fire and end him like she CAME there to do so she can go home.. right? in more selfish reasons feelings be damned though, hati would wish the circumstances were different. that she WASNT there with the intention of k*lling him, that she could fall for him and he for her in the more organic sort like two people meet at a gathering and its love at first sight? but alas, the twins have a cruel way of setting to people who by destiny, were meant for one another i guess!

8. what do they like best about their partner?

shes really....... REALLY pretty and the gods took their time on him ajsbjha OKAY. so i think that’s shes so fascinating to him.. that shes so alluring not just in appearance but who she is, her ambition, her wit, her ability to keep up with him in that and return his with her own that bests his by a long shot? that she intrigues him is what he finds most alluring about her? and for her, it’s that they’re so alike? that he is more than what she took at face value when she met him? that he’s attentive to her, it seems he knows her better than she knows herself..? now how in blazes do these two have so many things they like about the other when she’s so driven to despise him (she SAYS) is anyones guess! its bc they’re soulmates asjkn.

36. what’s their greatest strength as a couple? their weakness?

the two are both INTIMIDATING which would make them absolutely a threat on any battlefield or diplomatic setting and i think that’s so lovely for them..! hati is a triple scorpio (scorpio sun, moon and rising! shes a scorpio as it gets!) and given his status, title, the scar, this is definitely an advantage hehe! optio wants to give hati a hard time? he cant do that anymore! some noblewoman of rome wants to make flirtations? by that death glare of hers and WICKED grudge streak they won’t! its perfect! another strength of theirs more so in the romance once they get there!

and as for their weaknesses, especially at the moment this is the most apparent, is the constant back and forward between hating the other (this is more hati than marcus though) and longing? the fact the two have such a CONSTANT battle within themselves between duty, that he k*lled her father, and that they’re both infuriatingly infatuated with each other this sort of thing is what is hindering them the most as a couple?

I was diagnosed with adhd, depression and anxiety a few months ago. It was very relieving, as I was able to finally understand more about myself and why some things are so hard for me. But recently I’ve been looking at adhd on tumblr and twitter, and it’s been making me feel horrible about myself.

One of them is the fact that a lot of people with adhd tend to speak over autistic people/ignore their issues, and seeing this deeply saddens me. I hate it when people try to take over conversations that aren’t about them. But another thing that really upsets me is the way some autistic people talk about people with adhd. I’ve seen things like “non-autistic people with adhd should k*ll themselves” “non-autistic people with adhd are disgusting and privileged” “non-autistic people with adhd should all be k*lled, or die, or have horrible things happen to them, they’re boring, they’re rude, and they’re not good people, everyone should hate them”. I know this is probably a small minority of autistic people, and I absolutely don’t hate anyone who is autistic because of this. One person in a group doesn’t determine everyone else.

It’s starting to take a big toll on my mental health. I see things like this and all I can think is that they’re talking specifically about me. I don’t talk over people who are discussing their own issues, and I don’t take over conversations that aren’t about me. I don’t hate autistic people, or anyone, I love everyone and just want to be accepted. But I feel so guilty when I see things like this. I wish other people with adhd would stay in their lane when it comes to talking about ableism towards ND people, because it really just makes all people with adhd look like idiots.

I don’t really know what to do. I try my best to stop looking at things like this online, but I always get sucked back in. I don’t know how to confront the issue of other people with adhd constantly speaking over others without feeling like it’s my fault and I’m a horrible person for having adhd.

Hey there,

I can completely get and understand that when you read such things you can feel like it’s specifically about you, but try to remind you that it’s not and that everyone is completely different in their own right and no matter what they may have diagnostic wise whether it be ADHD, autism or something else, this does not define them or who they are.

With saying this you are not a horrible person at all, you haven’t done anything wrong. Unfortunately, we cannot change others perspectives of particular people with certain a diagnosis’ but we can choose what we do with what we hear. For example, politely telling them they shouldn’t be saying things like that or perceiving how or what those people should or shouldn’t be doing in regards to ‘killing themselves’ or how ‘disgusting’ they are.

Another option may be to choosing to accept that there will always be people out there that will have different opinions (not all of which will be correct or right) and this is their right to have those opinions in a way as we are all individuals and have the right to see things differently. But through choosing to accept this, either not looking at tumblr and twitter however tempting it may be to do so, or being in a head space where you can read their comments and just being mindful it’s just what ‘they’ think and isn’t necessarily true or have any factual truth to it and then being able to just let those comments go without thinking or giving them too much thought.

Childe was on his way back from work when all this happened

He was just finishing his work near Jueyun Karst

The place was surrounded by hills and mountains so, it's a bit of a challenge when he want to go back to the harbor

When he was on his way... he saw someone.. from the distance

He take a closer look and found out.. it was you.. what are you doing at a place like this?

It's a bit odd especially it's almost dark, he's concern

You didn't hear him... you could only hear the winds brush through your body

When Childe is like a few footsteps closer to you.. there it is, his nightmare came

You jumped down without hesitation without hearing his cries calling for you

Your body fell into the water... your body started to feel lighter and you were about to go unconscious

But then, someone jumped in and picked up your body

Childe hurriedly put your body on a dry place and started to pump your chest, he started to cry

When you slowly opened your eyes and spit the water out from your mouth, his eyes darted to you

His breath was so unstable because he was worried and panicked

Childe hugged you tightly and he cries to your shoulders

"No... no no, don't do it...'' he said... he holds you tighter

''C-childe...'' ''Do you think I'll not miss you when you do this?!'' you were left speechless

Shivers when down your spine as the words replayed in your head.. you regretted your actions

You put your hands around him and gently rub his back and silently saying 'sorry'

Childe looks at you and kissed your forehead and gently cupped your face

He smiled at you, the feeling of hope is shining when you see him...

Though it shatters him seeing your eyes so empty

Childe then carried you in his arms and head back to the city

From there, Childe always keeps an eye on you (well, not stalking ofc)

He would put his duties aside and put all of his attention to you

If you wanna go somewhere, he'll oblige, if you just want to stay in the house, he's alright with it

He'll always reminds you that he always loved you and when your in the couch or in bed, he'll cuddle you

He will also kinda spoil you (?), he would bought the items that you wanted

Childe is really soft around you, he tries his best to make you feel better and happier, seeing you barely smiles hurts him

"Talk to me if you have something that bothers you, I'm here with you.. I would rather help you at your worse rather than not knowing a single thing that is happening in your mind. I love you..''

Kaeya:

Kaeya arrived at home early today, given the fact that his duties are finished

He wanted to spend some time with you together, given that he's always been busy

When he entered the house, he didn't saw you.. thinking you might be in bed or still working on your commission

Then he hears a sound coming from upstairs

Kaeya is curious what's going on, and when he arrives upstairs.. he heard that the sound came from the bedroom

He thinks that you're inside since.. well, who else would be inside besides you two

So, he turned the nob and.... silence

He saw blood on the floor, then he saw you holding a sharp object

You didn't know he was there because you were lost in your mind

'One more...' you said to yourself...

Just as you were about to do a one last swipe, something stopped you

Kaeya held your hand and immediately took the sharp object and threw it across the room

He then turned you around, you didn't look at him

Kaeya held both of your hands and sighed

He brings you downstairs, sat you down and get the first aid kit

The alcohol felt really cold against your skin and there's a slight sting to it

But Kaeya tries his best not to do it harshly

It was rather awkward since you were afraid to talk or face him and he was trying to process what happened and focusing on wrapping your arms with bandages

You were zoned out and pulled out from your mind you feel something warm was holding you, it's Kaeya

You didn't return the hug, but you can hear his breath started to hitch

"Why must you do this to yourself?'' he speaks, you didn't answer him.. you don't know how to say it.. but here it is

"I just... well, feel like a burden to anyone else and... no one needs me so...'' then you fell into silence, not wanted to say anything further

"hah.. look, you aren't a burden to anyone, and without you knowing it, people needed you, they loved you even the littlest things that you did to people made them really happy..'' Kaeya said

''You are special, that is why I wanted to be with you.'' he added, you only sat there and hear everything he said

You hugged him back and melted into his touch, comforted by his words

Kaeya could feel you smiled and he himself is really happy that he could help you

Day on, he would slowly help you through everything

Tries not to make you stressed since you're still recovered

He would take you somewhere quieter like Cape Oath or somewhere else, so you can feel more relaxed and feel better.. he know that crowded places wouldn't help that much

Kaeya will always be patient towards you and he always keep his mind open about everything he hears from you

"No hesitation if something you wanted to say, I'm always here giving you my up most support. Just talk your hearts out, I'm all ears."

Diluc:

Came back from his job as a batman for the day lmao

Diluc was walking back from the city and was on his way back to the winery

On his way back, a worker from the winery walked up to him and told him that you weren't home yet

Hearing this makes him panicked, it's literally almost midnight and you aren't home yet

He then ran to look for you around the areas of Mondstadt

There was no sign of you near the city, so he tries to think where was your last location for todays commission

It was near Wolvendom, so he went there and check it there

He remembers there's one location near Wolvendom that connected to the Stormterror's Lair

He had a feeling that you'd be there and he's right

Your figure was standing there staring at the moon and the place was rather windy

The wind was howling and it crawls on to your skin, sending goosebumps around your body

Your mind was else where, you wanted to fall but your nervous.. then the blow of the wind slowly pushed you closer

At this point, Diluc started to get a little suspicious about everything he sees

Didn't want to scare you, he silently walks up to you... but.. you jumped down

He ran in an instant... that is a far fall, then he jumped down and opened his glider, trying his best to catch up to you

The wind seem to answered him and give him a push to catch you

You closed your eyes and feel that you were almost at the ground... meeting your end

Then... you met with something warm, carrying you and slowing you down from falling

You opened your eyes and saw Diluc

His hair was messy because of the wind, he was staring at you.. you dont know how to describe it but you know he's upset

He helds you closer, "Why..?" he simply said, he wants answers from you yet he knows he cant force you

You didn't answer him and more over, you're scared to face him

Then he puts you down and hugged you, breath started to get uneven

"I already lost my father, I don't want to lose you either... stay... please..'' he says, tears running down his face

"You're important to me..'' he adds, you felt silence, but at the same time, you felt more at ease

"That's... sweet of you" the only words that came out from you

Diluc holds you tighter, but not until you're out of air

Once both of you calmed down, he took you back to the winery

From there and the day on, he helped you and accompany you

Also he didn't make you work that much so you don't stress too much

If you want some time alone, he'll respect that and gave you the time and space you needed

He wanted to help you move through all of this and he'll be very patient towards you, he loves and cares deeply about you

"Don't be afraid to speak to me, I'll be happy to give you all of my attention and time towards you. Never ever pull a stun like that again... you're everything to me.."

Zhongli:

Zhongli wanted to come home earlier from his work to have some more time with you

Once he was finally done with some documents, he finally goes home

He wanted to have dinner together with you and maybe a little talk about each others day..

He was really happy about the things that he wanted to do with you

When he arrived and opened the door, you weren't there

Confused on where you are, he decided to check the kitchen but something isn't right

On the coffee table at the living room, there's a bottle but he's really unfamiliar with it

He took the bottle and read what was written there.. it's poison

His eyes widened and he noticed that the bottle was half full.. oh no..

Zhongli ran to the kitchen and found you

You were about to drink it and without thinking any further, he ran towards you and throws the cup from your hand

You were shocked that he's here and knew what you're about to do..

"Why did you do that?'' he said to you, looking at you in the eyes

Slowly, he approached you and hugged you.. holding his tears

''Since when you have the urge to do this kind of thing?'' he then asked you, ''Not.. long.'' you muttered

Then Zhongli rubs your back up and down to comfort you

''I've lived for a really long time and lost my closest allies because they've met their end... but, you.. decided to get to the end closer...'' he says, he started to lose his composure

''You are still very young, there are a lot of things that you haven't see in this world, would you mind if I made a contract with you to take care of you?'' he adds, you silently sigh and smiled at his words

He then takes you to the living room and he goes back to the kitchen to make your favorite food

From the day on, he'll continue to fill you with his endless affections

Zhongli even puts his work aside to be with you

He will always hear you and always give the conformity that you needed

He'll also take you to a walk and listen to you talking, he tell some stories sometimes but he wanted to hear things from you

"I'll always be here for you no matter what, I have a contract that I've signed to take care of you.. Don't die on me.. I've always loved you and will always be by your side until my last breath.''

SFW Alphabet: Kaz Brekker

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

With his fear of touch, it takes Kaz a while to be comfortable with physical affection, but he slowly gets there. It starts slowly, with him holding your hand with his gloves on, putting an arm around your shoulders and waist, then holding your hand without the gloves, kissing your forehead, cheeks, and eventually your lips. After a few months of working through his fear, he’s open to holding you for longer periods of time. Kaz wants so badly to be physically affectionate with you, but with his phobia, it’s slow going, but he does get there

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Kaz doesn’t really do “friends”, more like allies. But to have him as an ally, someone you knew you can rely on, that carries a lot of weight in the Barrell. If you ever find yourself in a tight spot, you know you can call on Kaz for help, and he’ll be there, usually with a few other members of the Dregs

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Like I said in A, physical affection is something that you and Kaz have to work towards. But once he’s comfortable with cuddling, it easily becomes one of his favorite things. He likes to spoon you, his arms around your waist, nose buried in your hair, legs entwined. Kaz also likes it when you lay facing him, your head buried in his chest, his hands rubbing your back. He might not admit it, but on bad days, whether with his leg or his phobia, he loved being the little spoon, letting you hold him close and shut out the outside world

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Kaz does want to settle down, but with the Dregs, it’s not really a possibility. So you settle for sharing a room and spending every night in each other’s arms. But you do talk about what your future will be like when Kaz eventually gets a big payout from a job: a mansion, fancy clothes, a massive diamond ring (that’s Kaz’s addition). He cooks well enough to keep himself alive, but to be honest, he’s not the best

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?) I feel like he’d be really cold and practical about it, but he’d cry when he’s alone. “This isn’t working, Y/N,” he says. “We can’t be together and work together, pick one.” Once he’s alone in his room at the Slat, he breaks down, knowing he just lost the only good thing in his life since Jordie

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Kaz fully intends to marry you, once he has enough money for a proper ceremony, one that meets every single one of the dreams you’ve had since childhood. He gets you a simple ring, a small diamond on a silver band, and asks you to marry him. It’s a simple proposal, but it’s romantic all the same. “Y/N, darling, I love you more than anything else in this world. Marry me, please, my love, make me your husband.” He proposes after 2ish years of dating, well after he’s gotten over his fear of touch (with you at least)

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Kaz has a reputation for being ruthless and violent, but with you, he’s sweet, tender, and unbelievably gentle. Once again, once he’s over his phobia, his touch is always gentle and tender. He never raises his voice at you, he never even thinks about hurting you. You are his treasure, worth more than any amount of money (and when I say “over his phobia”, I mean he’s comfortable with touching you, I know that he has deep seated trauma that will never go away. But, in my opinion, Kaz is able to work through his trauma and work towards being able to touch his girl),

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Again, after working through his phobia, Kaz LOVES hugs. Your arms are a sanctuary, a place where he can ignore the hustle and bustle of Ketterdam, work from the Crow Club and the Dregs, and anything that’s bothering him. He’ll often come up to you and pull you into his arms, chin resting atop your head. His hugs are warm and safe, you know that when you’re in his arms, nothing can hurt you

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

After about 8 months, Kaz is at the point that he’s able to hold your hand without his gloves. You’d been so patient and understanding with him, and he took your hand, risking pressing a kiss to the back of it (something else he’d recently become comfortable with was kissing your cheek and forehead). “Thank you for being so patient with me, Y/N, I love you so much. My girl, I love you.”

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Kaz gets jealous very easily. If anyone gets too close to you, he’s on edge. Even if it’s Jesper, who has little to no interest in any female, Kaz still is jealous. He comes to your side, either taking your hand, putting an arm around your shoulders, or pulling you flush against him (depending on where he’s at in terms of working through his trauma)

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Tentative at first, when kissing is new to him. Light, short pecks on your forehead and cheeks, before progressing to your lips. Then they linger for a few seconds, mainly on your lips, and eventually, he gets to the point where he wants to kiss you every waking second, lips on yours until he nearly passes out. Once he’s really comfortable with kissing, his kisses are passionate, the love he has for you palpable in the inches between you. Kaz likes to kiss you basically everywhere: forehead, cheek, nose, lips, neck, other intimate areas ;D. He likes to be kissed on the cheek, jaw, neck, lips (duh), and his hands. You’re one of very few people who get to see and touch his hands, so having you kiss them makes his heart flutter

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Honestly, he hates them. I mean, remember what he said to that little girl in Crooked Kingdom? He just doesn’t like them, there’s not much room to elaborate on that.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Most mornings, you wake to Kaz’s lips against your temple, his arms around your middle. “Good morning, my love.” He is loath to get out of bed in the mornings and leave your embrace, but he’s got a club to run. Even so, he’ll spend an extra 20 minutes or so just holding you, soaking in your love and presence (This is all after he’s comfortable w/ touch, btw)

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

(Same as above, after Kaz is comfortable w/ touch) Kaz tends to work late, so most nights, you have to drag him to bed. You wrap your arms around his shoulders, kissing his neck. “Come to bed, Kaz. It’s late.” He’ll sigh, moan about how much work he has to do, but he;ll let you herd him into bed

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

A loooooooooong time, both in regards to physical touch and the trauma he’s been through. You know that he’s been through a lot, and you don’t push him, because you know that Kaz will tell you when he’s ready. And sure enough, he does. Slowly, he tells you about Jordie, the plague, how Rollins swindled him, everything about his past. Time is your best friend in a relationship with Kaz

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

In general, fairly fast, but with you, he’s hardly angry. On a job, Kaz can’t afford to be too patient, when he needs something, he needs it now, and he’s not afraid to do whatever he needs to get it. But you’re a different story, with you, Kaz has endless patience. He might snap at you at the start of your relationship, but he always apologizes immediately afterwards. Love is new to him, so he needs you to be patient as well.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?) Kaz has the memory of an elephant, he has to with the jobs he does, So he remembers every single thing you tell him, important or not.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Cliche, but the first time he kissed you. Kaz was finally comfortable enough with that level of intimacy, and he’d removed his gloves, cupped your face in his hands, and kissed you, a long, sweet, lingering kiss. He cried, but they were happy tears.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

You’re dating the Bastard of the Barrell, Kaz is insanely protective of you. Whenever you go somewhere without Kaz, he has a few members of the Dregs trail you, at a distance, just to make sure that if something happens, you’re protected. But if he can, Kaz goes everywhere with you, you on his arm, glaring at anyone who might dare cross you, as if to say “Hands off, she’s mine”

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Kaz leads a busy life, so proper dates don’t happen all that often. But when they do, Kaz goes all out, he books a reservation at the best restaurant in Ketterdam, roses, expensive wine, the works. Other date type things are like a private dinner in his office and simple gifts, like candy and things you’ve mentioned you want

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

It’s not a bad habit, but it’s definitely an obstacle in a relationship: his haphephobia. He can be a little rough around the edges, and he’s pretty resistant to the idea of a relationship until he realizes how hard he’s fallen for you

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Kaz is always dressed and groomed immaculately. A fitted three piece suit, his hair slicked back, fedora, leather gloves, shoes shined to a mirror gleam. He takes pride in his appearance, he came from nothing, and he’s built a little empire for himself, and he’s damn proud of it

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

At first he thinks he wouldn’t, but then there’s a job that goes south, and you get hurt, and I’m talking badly hurt. Life-threateningly bad. Nina patches you up in seconds, but you’re unconscious and weak for a few days. Kaz doesn’t leave your side once, his hand clutching yours. “Please, Y/N,” he begs to your sleeping form. “Please be alright. I can’t live without you. I love you, Y/N, I love you so much. Please, wake up, my love.”

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

On your 9 month anniversary, Kaz got a third tattoo. Above the crow and cup, next to the capital R, now resides your initials

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Kaz cannot be with someone who doesn’t respect his boundaries. If you take his hand without thinking before he’s alright with it, but release it immediately and apologize, he’s shaken but alright. But if you do it and don’t let go or don’t apologize, it’s a massive dealbreaker

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

Kaz has trouble sleeping in storms, the rain reminds him of the tide on the Reaper’s Barge. But cuddle him and he’s out like a light

Hell kaypeace, regarding your "character compelled by powers to commit suicide" post, and the theory that Will has some sort of power, what if it's Lonnie? I believe he is going to appear in this season and, at least in an example in your post, the psychic hurt someone who hurt him as a child. Either Will accidentally using powers to drive Lonnie to suicide, or Will almost doing so but not being able to actually finish the deed because hes a kind kid?

They're referencing this post- where i mentioned in the st comic and prequel novel -2 different (male) psychic characters use their powers to cause people to off themselves.

Theory 1 )

Either jonathan or Will says something to Lonnie ( powers or not ) not really expecting it to happen. I mean in the novel the guy's name is john (saint john even knew someone named jonathan). So probably jonathan.

I remember one s4 movie "enter the void". A guy comes to a gal's door. He says he's sorry she says "if you're sorry... k*ll yourself. For what you did to me and my brother". Him: "you don't mean that". Her : "yes I do. K*ll yourself." Then he tries to blame her for what happened because she was "sl*tty". She breaks down, says "get out of my house", and slams the door in his face and starts saying she wants to d*e and she hates her life and he's evil. And she doesn't want to live surrounding by evil people ,like him And how dare he blame her, for what happened. Pretty sure after that the guy tried to off himself. Also there's a lot of s4 movies where a se*ual ab*ser tries to "apologize" years later and then 1/2 way through the apology they blame the victim... ugh. Certainly would trigger jonathan to say such things. In "magnolia"- the dead beat dad comes back to see his daughter (after many years) who he se*ually ab*sed as a kid. She's into rock music and because of tra*ma caused by the dad- starting doing dr*gs. He comes in unannounced. And she flips out , starts crying and saying "what? You came back to call me a sl*t or something?". He acts all fake-nice , and says he has terminal cancer. And in response she says she hopes he dies soon. And to "get out of my house!!!" We the audience don't realize why she hates him until later .

In "magnolia "WHEN the dad does admit what he did to his kid, he admits he's a bad person, and feels guilty and a character says he deserves to d*e alone for what he did to his own kid - he sh**ts himself after.

And in another s4 film "book of henry" - the dad who se*ually ab*sed his kid also sh*t himself, when someone confronted him about what he did.

We also had the s4 film "cidar house rules" - dad r*ped his kid, he got stabbed by daughter, daughter did so cause she got scared he'd attack her. Then when she ran away: he started st*bing himself - where she st*bbed him , to finish the job. Told everyone to claim it was a su*cide , and to say 'the daughter didn't do anything'...

So there is a pattern ...

Theory 2)

could be the mf or some monster doing so to people (or brenner). Mf already can possess and control people- so he could theoretically do it. And In both the st book/st comic the guys caused a dr to k*ll themselves. And brenner is a dr. In the s4 movies "dream warrior" , "constantine", "devil's advocate"- a creature/monster caused people to k*ll themselves.

Theory 3)

maybe kali or el or some number causes brenner (the dr/ or someonelse ) to do so? Using powers or not? Since in the comic and prequel novel - numbers cause a dr like say * dr Brenner* to do so.

Life Update （╹◡╹）♡

[started by Essence and finished/edited by me, Dillion. I wasn’t sure when she would be back to post. Hope your day is going well]

So, this past month or so has been one of the most challenging for me. A situation with my dad had a ripple effect that ended up with [redacted alter, I’ll call them Z for privacy] trying to k*ll us. This was the scariest thing I’ve had to experience as a person with DID. Just knowing that one minute I can be at work (i work from home) and the next minute I’m standing over myself with blood running down my arm. To know that someone I trusted and was working together to be a better person with can turn around and fully intend on ending our life… it’s terrifying.

I had to go to the ER and was completely shaken up about it. This was the first time I went to seek help, and it was terrifying having to tell someone that I don’t remember picking up the knife, I couldn’t describe what it looked like, and that I don’t actually want to die. It was hard. And Z knew there was a slim to no chance I would ever get professionals involved out of fear of what they might do to me as punishment. But to be met with nurses and staff who were so supportive after hearing what happened, calling me brave and saying I did the right thing by coming—i really feel like i could get through it.

After they gave me st*tches they sent me to a psych facility for a couple days. I feel like this alone really saved my life. Being isolated and surrounded by people who care to help me, going to sessions where we talk about what we’re going through, talking with other patients, and bonding with my roommate. Everything about it was surreal and I feel so grateful I found the strength to seek help. I’m finally on medication for depression and anxiety, and i have therapy appointments coming up. Just looking back at how far i’ve come—living life unknowingly as a system my whole life, the fear of finally finding out, and figuring out how to cope with it.

I’m so happy we switched when we did because even as Z is being repressed, we can just see them st*bbing themselves over and over. Hearing their screams and cries every once in a while.. They’ve always struggled with manic episodes but it’s so hard seeing them like that in the inner world.

This healing journey is a shakey one, but I’m so hopeful on how everything will turn out.

Yeah hey so I have a question...why the fuck do you think it's okay to be a Crosshair fan? Why are you so hyped about the episode today? I literally hope he dies he's a piece of shit and I can't believe he had the audacity to spew that shit to Hunter. I hope they leave him to die in their escape from Kamino. And I hope you and every other fan chokes.

*cracks fingers* okay anon I have had ALL day to sit and think about this ask and how to approach it and honestly just I'm gonna straight up start this out with a go fuck yourself for that last bit. Who the fuck gave you the right to think of yourself in such a high spot that it's okay for you to tell people that?

Now I don't know if you're aware but it's no fucking secret I'm a fan of Crosshair and his story which is drastically different to his brothers. Like hi peep the URL. I am 90% sure I KNOW who sent this anon but hey it could be someone else too, there's a lot of you coming at people today. But whatever.

I love Crosshair's story, he's an incredibly interesting character and they took a very interesting approach with making such an obvious choice deviate (granted not willingly but still) it was something we all saw coming but still hit a lot of fans. Throughout the show you see both sides, you see the rest of the brothers struggling to survive a quick change throughout the Galaxy and having to adapt. You see random bits of guilt and sadness about leaving their brother behind but little beyond that plan wise. And they had opportunity, they could have adapted missions to reroute and try to get Crosshair back but they didn't. And each time Crosshair was aware they left him again and again... and again.

Now this episode that all came out. "They don't leave their own behind...most of the time." "You weren't loyal to me" "I'm going to give you what you never gave me. A chance" all of these show Crosshair is definitely hurt by the fact they all came for Hunter but never came back for him, never tried. Yet still shows he does care for them. He says his chip was removed but I'm not buying it, and I know many others aren't either. He's probably trying to guilt them even more with that, saying it's who he is and his chip is gone when it's really not. But there is definitely a high chance it's malfunctioning big time ever since the blast. I find him interesting, I find his story and path interesting. He's not perfect, he's about as far from it as can be and I love that. Star Wars is all about characters with flaws. Look at Anakin, Kallus, and just literally any SW character ever! Flaws everywhere but people still love them.

Crosshair had the audacity to say what he said to Hunter because it was the truth. And he had every fucking right to say it. Now if this is who I think it is that sent it, I'm well aware of how big of a Hunter Stan you are. But I'm aware you also don't like talking about your favorite characters and their flaws or mishaps. Hunter needed to be called out though, he needed to realize what he did. What they all did. And that was leaving their (youngest) brother behind in a time he needed them most. It's going to be interesting to see where they all go from here but don't you dare sit there and come at people for liking a fictional character who they find interesting. I'm not saying his actions have been okay, but he hasn't been in control of those actions for a while. No one blames Rex for what he did during the time his chip was active...why are you guys blaming Cross? All I'm saying is that maybe stop and think about it and maybe chill out over attacking others. Some of your are flat out telling people to k*ll themselves over a fictional fucking character. You need to sit down and think about that. Most, not all, if us who like this character have literally done and said nothing wrong. And you're out here attacking people. Who's in the wrong? I like all of the batch for different reasons but I'm also well aware of the issues with them and I do hope it gets fixed during season 2. But seriously it's a fucking animated show and while I'm aware of DOES impact others irl...so does what we say to one another.

I'm sorry if most of this doesn't absolutely make cohesive sense but it's been a really shitty day, I'm tired and I just want to be done with this bs.

You don't deserve any of those things and you have every right to post whatever you want and your own blog. I wanted to suggest possibly moving to a new blog? In the past I've seen some of my favorite blogs go through the same things and sometimes they start fresh, sometimes with a new alias so it really feels like a new start away from the nasty anons. Obviously it's completely up to you and I hope this doesn't offend you in any way, I just don't want to see someone as kind as you be run off of tumblr or come to dread logging in because people don't know how to have fun or respect someone's opinions. Anyways, I hope you have a good rest of your day, I'm sending you lots of love!

thanks anon, same to you as well ! 🫶🏼 and yes i have been thinking about moving blogs and maybe just writing to myself. i think it keeps me humble & makes me work on my writing and its hard to open my inbox everyday and always find a message of someone telling me to k*ll myself or telling me how stupid i am (all bc of the same thing as well) and i feel like i havent been the same since i ever posted anything abt the topic of shipping irl.

i try to avoid talking about it now but somedays i get so angry that anons speak to me like this and think they are allowed to speak to me like this when they cant even reveal themselves. i catch myself writing paragraphs or questioning who i am because of just plain mean and disgusting comments.

rarely, i really wish i could go back and not have said anything, but ive always been open to the neutral opinions and i do have mutuals / friends who do ship said couple together. its about mutual respect and it really takes a toll when the hate is so constant and i wonder what i did to make someone so upset at me.

✶ 𝐇𝐗𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐒: 𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 & 𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒, 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇 & 𝐃𝐀𝐌𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 Long story short, I have been thinking about this for wayyyyy too long now and wanted to get some ~thoughts~ & analysis written down! This post is going to be...fairly long, lol. Apologies in advance :D

This post is probably going to be about 2/3 yorknew & phantom troupe/kurapika focused, 1/3 chimera ants, maybe with some references to other arcs (including manga-only arcs) mixed in. so, ofc, tons of spoilers ahead! also, i realize that my blog theme is hard to read (and i’m p sure clicking ‘keep reading’ sends you to the og post itself), so i’m linking the post w/ full text copy/pasted in on my art backup side blog (which has a more legible font) here.

✶ 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇 I’m sure absolutely nobody is surprised with me starting here - there is just. SO. MUCH. DEATH. in hxh. & right from the start, one thing I noticed that togashi really emphasized was the #4 and its connection to death. in japanese, chinese, and im p sure some other asian cultures the number 4 is pronounced like the word for death so it’s associated with death in general, and boy oh boy does the ‘deadly number 4′ thing show up E V E R Y W H E R E. we get to the hunter exam, and hisoka is applicant #44. kurapika is #404. i didn’t notice it at first, but this was so intentional holy shit. togashi is NOT SUBTLE.

So pika & hisoka are, right off the bat, associated with death. okay. and then there are even more clues to drive the point home: hisoka is member #4 in the phantom troupe, kurapika’s birthday is april 4th (aka 4/4). 100% not a coincidence (!!). with hisoka, it’s pretty obvious why togashi’s throwing all this death 444444 stuff around - dude is a psycho murder pedo clown, literally gets off on killing people (and there’s also the fact that judas sits 4th from the left in the last supper painting, and he’s sort of the judas equivalent for the phantom troupe). with kurapika, though, it’s a bit more subtle and woven deeper into his characterization, which i LOVE. togashi puts the mans in blue & gold & white (traditionally ‘pure’ or ‘heavenly’ colors), makes him so fucking kind & so good-hearted.....when he’s not relentlessly pursuing his revenge, ofc. more on this in the next section, but pika = death. togashi has made that v v v clear.

Backtracking a bit to hisoka, though, I also just wanted to point out the 4 is death symbolism in the fortunes too (GOD i love the fortunes): in one translation, he’s the false fourth moon, and in the og japanese (i think), he’s the false hare (4th in the lunar zodiac or w/e it’s called. i don’t know the japanese cultural influences here, but in the chinese legend that established the zodiac animals, they race across the heavenly river & the top 12 animals got zodiac slots. the hare finished 4th, so it’s #4 in the cycle).

And just as a final note, Tserriednich is the fourth prince of the kakin empire, and also another dude who has a hard-on for murder & other gory shit. again: togashi is not subtle with this, lmfao

✶ 𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐘, 𝐔𝐍𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐘 As probably everyone who’s gotten to yorknew knows, togashi is so 0 fucks given when he wants to be. I mean there’s the whole thing where he just. took New York and decided, Yorknew. LMFAO, but also, he made the main antag of that arc be named chrollo lucilfer, sit around in a ruined church, have a reversed cross coat, pale & dark-haired/dark-eyed, generally dressed in dark colors, very terrible murder guy. liiiike......chrollo x devil symbolism game is 1000/10 at this point lmaooo

And i know absolutely nothing about christianity in general, but pt/kurapika & yorknew arc is just so full of christian imagery/symbolism! one thing that i L O O O O O O V E though is how togashi really blurs the traditional christian-coded good/evil, holy/damned boundaries.

Back to kurapika: he wears gold and blue, his coloring is very stereotypically ‘angelic’, he’s precious and good and kind. his chains are all about ~judgment~ and ~healing~ - some of the chains are also in literal cross shapes, aren’t they? And the chain dagger in his own heart...the imagery is very startlingly similar to the immaculate heart of mary, where the swords stabbing thru the heart apparently represent seven sorrows. IDK much about this stuff other than the visual similarities; literally had to google ‘daggers through heart christianity?’ to even get the name of that thing LOL. anyway, at first, it seems like togashi establishes him as the ‘angel’, the ‘good’, the ‘holy’ in the angel/devil, good/evil, holy/damned dichotomy between him and chrollo.

But that’s not the end of the story. his entire storyline is driven by a huuuuuuuge giant desire for vengeance, first of all, and then there’s the scarlet eyes, which canonically are seen as demonic/cursed/what have you (according to one of the movies or smth? where they show pika as a 10 y/o?), and then we also have red eyes in modern culture being associated w pretty much the same thing (vampires, anyone?). the fight scene with uvo has everything in b&w besides the blood on his face & his red eyes & the moon (<<< more fortune foreshadowing & symbolism, i love to see it), and there are tonssss of scenes where he has to suppress his rage. so all of that is obviously not very angelic of him i would say LOL. in fact, what i find super interesting is that the scarlet/red eyes (which are ‘demonic’) is actually the driving factor behind his super powerful nen abilities; this ties in so well with the fortunes & death associations imo! the fortunes call him the ‘death-bringer’ in one translation, or ‘half-angel, half-death’, so that’s one side of pika = red eyes = death, but there’s also the fact that emperor time is literally draining his life force. so pika = death for both himself and others namely the pt, question mark?

Now for chrollo: togashi’s devil symbolism is EXTREMELY overt with him, but i love the subtler jesus references too. the church thing, obviously, and the st. peters cross which is cuz st peter respected jesus too much & didn’t think he was worthy to die in the same way as him (or something like that, i am the most atheist person in the world & hxh is literally my entire christian education pls) but is also used as an anti-christianity symbol these days. bandit’s secret looks like a bible, lbr, and mans has a cross tattoo.

Other things beyond visuals - 12 spiders, 12 apostles; hisoka’s betrayal, where member #4 can be thought to correspond to judas sitting 4th from left at last supper. and this miiiiight be a bit of a stretch, but i think the meteor city being the place of origin may also play into the blurred line between angel/devil and holy/damned here; meteors are defined as space rocks that are in earth’s atmosphere, becoming incandescent in the process. meteorites are for the kinds that actually reach the ground. and idk, lucifer was cast out of heaven / sky too right? so i think there might be some subtle fallen angel imagery/symbolism playing into the pt as well

✶ 𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 (𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒) Last section yay! i don’t have as much to say about this, besides when i was making chimera ant arc edits & realized that there might have been some subtle gon/meruem parallels???

So obviously, everyone knows that line killua says to gon - “you are light” - and then i was just remembering that meruem’s name means.... “light that illuminates all” (!!!!). maybe it’s a coincidence, but knowing togashi, i’m leaning towards nahhhh. there HAS TO be some kinda meaning there (!!).

Going back to the events of the chimera ant arc....ooh boy. let’s see: gon is optimistic & hopeful even in the face of kite potentially being dead, killua says he’s light, they find kite & dude is fucked up, gon is pissed. gets all angry & ~dark~, especially during the palace invasion when he’s staring pitou down as she fixes up komugi. then the actual fight against pitou: more darkness, more anger, but through it all there’s still light, namely his jajanken being very orange & fiery lookin.....and that final sequence, where he puts all his possible nen he’d ever have into his ~final form~ or wahtever & turns into a male version of true form!bisky but dressed in a crop top & short-shorts (i am SCARRED, btw. s c a r r e d !). there’s just huuuge flashes of light as that’s going on, and it reminded me of supernovas or dying stars when i was thinking about it, where the star is like, collapsing under its own weight? & burning thru its own fuel, until there’s nothing left except a dwarf or black hole or what have you. one final, extremely deadly burst of light & energy before death.

On the meruem side of things: born into a dark cave, exhibits a traditionally evil/cruel/wicked/whatever personality/traits so that has ppl associating him with darkness. then he gets to know komugi, starts to appreciate other aspects of humanity, seems like he could have actually turned into a decent person who doesn’t want to eat everyone - so that’s a ‘path to light’, maybe? - and then the extermination team yeets themselves into the palace, netero takes him out to bumfuck nowhere, they fight. netero’s fighting is just ALL light, from his giant ass golden 100-type guanyin bodhisattva to the poor man’s rose. again, there’s the sense of finality to it all, in a similar vein to dying stars: netero comes in determined to kill meruem no matter what, and we all know netero doesn’t flake. then we see netero get destroyed after the zero hand, and he triggers the rose, and everything is burning & on fire before the flames are put out and all turns dark again.

But wait!!! pouf & youpi revive meruem and all he does is play gungi with komugi, even with the poison of the rose. he eventually dies, and the gungi pieces in that final shot of them together (i am BAWLING just thinking about it holy shit) has one that’s all white, one that’s a black ring and white inside. i assume all white is for komugi, who has never done ANYTHING wrong in her LIFE, so i like to think that the 2nd one is for meruem - born “into darkness”, literally & figuratively, but he turns something like ‘good’ by the end. it’s interesting how togashi has sort of gone for a bit of a subversion here: the hero going from light to darkness, and the main antag from darkness to light.

✶ 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 AahhhhHHHHHhhh so if you read all the way down here through my LONG rambles, tysm! i would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear what other people think about all this, and i’ve FOR SURE missed tons and tons of stuff - chimera ants is just. SO MUCH. and i don’t know it as well as yorknew eeek.

I’m not sure if i’m really ~knowledgeable~ in any other areas relating to hxh, so this might be the only one of these that i do, but i definitely think about some of this - esp all the religious symbolism & #4 stuff - a ton! so in the meantime, if it’s of any interest, i’m just going to shamelessly plug my hxh x religious beliefs/superstitions edit series :D lots of love to all!!!

*THE* mean-girl-dean-girl's Supernatural reboot MEGAPOST!

I'm gonna stick a little "keeping reading" here because hoooooo boy, this is a very long post.

Let's start with

Plot

Season 1

Dean kills John while they are out on a hunt in a crime of passion, but Dean doesn't remember because he blacked out. Cue Dean going to Stanford to get Sam and tell him "Dad's on a hunting trip... and he hasn't been home in a couple days."

The audience doesn't know what happened to John, but slowly figures it out with Dean and Sam as Dean slowly remembers what happened that night.

The entire first season, the boys are following the trail John left and fighting monsters as well. They find out Dean was with John, Sam realizes Dean has an unreliable memory, they have heart to hearts about their childhood and the fire, they find John's body, "how could you kill Dad?" but maybe Dean didn't kill dad, whooaaaaaa, misdirection.

It was actually good ole yeller eyes (Azazel) and he made it look like Dean killed John.

Okay, now let's move on to the first episode

Not sure how the opening would work, I would like the story of the fire to be revealed over the course of the first season, but maybe the opening scene could be a little bit of an establishing character relationships and backstory, idk, I haven't thought that far yet.

I'm thinking maybe it's like, Dean gets back to a motel room covered in blood and he listens to a voicemail on his phone from John saying he was on a hunt or something, I don't really know lol.

HOWEVER

I do know that after the intro rolls, we get a scene of Sam waking up to his alarm and "Nine to Five" by Dolly Parton starts playing.

Y'all know where this is going.

Cue a montage of Sam's normal Stanford college life (him sitting through lectures, walking through the campus with friends) spliced with scenes of Dean absolutely slaughtering a nest of vampires (or some other monsters, whatever works best.)

But

Now onto

Characters!!! (And descriptions)

Dean Winchester

Some lovely person on this site made edits of Dean with platinum blond hair and it made me feel some kind of way so we're doing that, homie's gonna have platinum blond hair

Side note about the hair, later when the brothers are running from the FBI he dyes it a dirty blond/light brown (insert jackles hair color controversy here) as a disguise.

He also gets tattoos because we were robbed.

Speaking of tattoos, concept: when Dean comes back from Hell, all of his tattoos are gone. His body is a clean slate, devoid of tattoos, scars, etc. So he gets his tattoos done all over again, which he doesn't mind because he made some bad, drunk tattoo decisions in his youth.

(And before you ask, yes, he does get one for Cas, either a bee or Cas's name in enochian, something cute.)

Dean goes to therapy after Sam gets sent to the Cage.

It's actually court mandated because he got in trouble, lol, he would never go to therapy on his own.

Along with the hair, Dean gets to be the grade A twunk we all know he is.

Sam Winchester

His hair gets longer in every scene he's in

No jk, but imagine

King of Microaggressions

Sam starts off like the sweetheart he is in season 1 but in later seasons he starts enjoying killing a little too much...

It's that demon blood, ba-by!!!

He brings up issues of morality to Dean, i.e. killing monsters who aren't hurting anyone. (Yes I know this is contradictory to my previous statement, but these two facets of Sam can and will coexist.)

Sam and Jess's relationship is explored further, meaning we'll need to start with a different inciting incident, but that's fine, I think everyone can agree fridgings are *(thumbs down)*

Sam doesn't truly know what happened the night of the fire until later, and then he understands why Dean is so protective of him.

Jess

She gets to live beyond the first episode

She is also trans

No, I don't feel like I have to explain myself and I won't 💜

She urges Sam to join Dean in a search for their brother, kind of gets pulled into the hunter lifestyle by association lol.

She dies on a rusty nail after fighting vampires on a routine hunt with Sam

No jk!!!

But imagine....

She's amazing and I love her and Lucifer also uses her as leverage against Sam and possesses her because I think that'd be cool.

She supports Sam 100% and also she and Dean are buddies, pals if you will.

She meets Cas Thee El and immediately she Knows, that is a homosexual.

She dies still so that we can have a Saileen Endgame but she's not dying the first episode or in a fridging. Not on my watch.

Castiel

He gets to keep his raw, light-fixture-exploding power.

I want more of that "I pulled you out of hell, I can throw you back in" energy except over dumb shit like Dean not cleaning up after himself.

He looks like a Dilf in every scene he's in, yeah, that's right, dilf with a capital D for *(GUNSHOTS)* *(gets sent to horny jail)*

Claire

She gets pink hair

And more time with Cas

And maybe a nose piercing

Feel like she should be able to kill a couple angels onscreen, punch a couple homophobes

She gets to meet Jack and teaches him swears and fun slang words.

She deserves it.

Jack

I says "that's my baby and I'm proud."

Jack starts off as a baby, but like Amara he grows up super quickly.

Like, baby to 11 year old in a couple days or less.

This is because Jack's emotional age on the show is on par with that of a 5th grader.

It's at this point when he's a young kid that he runs away from the Bunker and shenanigans ensue.

It's also at this point that Dean threatens to k*ll him.

(Still not sure if I want that in my Supernatural (threatened infanticide? In my Supernatural? It's more likely than you think) but we'll see. We'll see.)

Throughout a majority of season 13, Jack is like an 11 y.o. kid

Season 14 he's like a 16 y.o. teenager

Season 15 he's 21, you get the picture.

Listen, I love Alex Calvert a lot. He's great.

But Jack is a child and should be a child.

Kelly Kline

Kelly, baby, stay right where you are, you're perfect.

Eileen

SHE DOESN'T DIE

SHE GETS TO BE IN THE FINALE BECAUSE SHE'S AMAZING AND I LOVE HER.

She teaches Claire and Jack swears in sign-language. Castiel is not impressed.

I love it when the Trio are father-figures to younger troubled characters they see themselves in, even better if it's like reluctant-but-loving father figure, oh, that trope gets me every time :'^)

Dadstiel and DadDean are my favorites, but I like it when Sam plays "Uncle Sam" to kids too lol.

Garth

Biggest flaw of Supernatural was underutilizing Garth.

I will never not be bitter that Garth was only in like, 7 episodes out of the whole 15 season series.

Every episode with Garth gets immediately 5 times better.

I love Garth.

Follow ups on characters who had entire episodes featured around them and then just... vanished???

This is mostly about Jesse, the magic kid whose imagination ruled an entire town like, his daddy was a demon and nothing came of that kid??? Only one episode about him?? No follow up???

Religious imagery

As a former Catholic school student who has become for the most part, disillusioned with religion, religious imagery in TV shows like Supernatural make my brain go "brrrrrr."

Fun episodes!!!

Like, after season 6 or so, there's a drop in funny episodes

I'm talking Changing Channels, The French Mistake type stuff. (Scoobynatural is an outlier and should not be counted.)

So anyway

In my version we would have more fun episodes

GENDER-SWAP EPISODE, BABY!!

(why they didn't do that in the original, we'll never know.)

An episode where Dean gets to wear eyeliner

Racism

Yeah I feel like this is self explanatory, nearly every reoccurring character in SPN is white, and black side characters normally die in the episode they first appear in, or they'll be featured as a villain (Uriel, Raphael, Billie, etc)

Also there's a lot of... uh... asian fetishism featured in the show (what with "Busty Asian Beauties) that's really gross, also Kevin was a bit of a stereotype...

Also also it's super yucky how they kill the gods from other religions like???? Uh??? That's super disrespectful, let's not do that????

I know Supernatural is like, inherently racist because monsters are a separate race that are seen as some dangerous "other" that must be eradicated by hunters in a form of genocide-

Okay we won't get into that but

Fridgings/Unecessary murders of female characters

I know Supernatural starts with a fridging, so this will be a hard thing to remedy, but

One death that really pissed me off was the death of Charlie

Yeah, that was pointless and we're not doing that. Charlie gets to live and be an awesome aunt to Jack.

Charlie and Garth get to meet because they're nerd/geek solidarity.

British Men of Letters

They're "litcherally" the worst.

The worst part is that the actors they have playing the British AREN'T. EVEN. BRITISH.
