hi!!! request for joel being readers first kiss. He won’t go any further than kissing but they have a LOT of fun kissing
thx
post outbreak jackson pls
Pairing: Joel Miller x f!reader
Warnings: very brief talk of some sexual themes at the end, but the rest is... you guessed it, kissing!
a/n: 1000/10 idea i literally blushed when you sent it. idk about the execution tho
Tumblr media
You were so incredibly embarrassed when you told him, when you finally had to confess that you had no experience, and by that I mean really none, absolutely zero.
But then again what could he have expected?
perhaps he knew right from the moment he set eyes on you, and perhaps... perhaps he liked it.
It oozed from your every pore... your innocence, it was in the way you couldn't meet his gaze, in the way you shivered when his hand grazed against your arm, in the shyness in your voice... it was in everything... it was all of you.
But he nicked at it, piece by piece, brick by brick, he had gotten to know you... maybe a little too much.
He had realized at one point, too late he'd grow to admit, that he liked you, really liked you, in a way he hadn't experienced in ages, in a way that made him feel sixteen all over again.
And yes you were young... much too young for him, and yes you were complete opposites, him, a rough man with enough blood on his hands to make a serial killer's skin crawl, and you, you a pretty little thing who'd lived her whole life in Jackson, safe from the atrocities of the real word... but still, still he he couldn't stop his old heart from beating faster when he was with you.
And that's why one day, one cold, windy day, as snow fell to the ground and you held onto his arm as if it was a life jacket, while he walked you back home, he couldn't do anything but tell the truth.
"Joel" you had said right outside your front door.
"yes sweetheart?" he asked, watching your pretty face fill with dread
"Joel I... I like you"
You'd told him so casually, so simply, that for a moment he wondered if he had imagined it.
But you had misinterpreted his pause all wrong
"I-I'm sorry nevermind, pretend I didn'-"
"no, no I'm sorry" he shook his head, forcing himself out of his trance "You said you like me darlin'?" he asked, taking a step closer to you so he was right there before you, looking down at the gorgeous girl who'd just made all his wishes come true.
"mh-mh" you nodded shily
And at that, he smiled, placing a hand on your reddening cheek, as his thumb gently stroked it
"well then we're in luck" he'd murmured "cause I happen to like you too sweetheart" he promised "a lot"
"r-really?" Your eyes sparked with joy
"of course baby" he breathed, bending down to meet his lips with yours instinctively before your voice stopped him
"wait-" you said
"oh, I'm sorry, I'm going too fast"
"n-no you're not it's just that..."
it was getting harder to meet his gaze again
"if you wanna wait that's ok, sweetie"
"n-no I don't wanna wait, Joel, it's just that-"
"what is it?"
A loud sigh left your mouth before you could respond
"I've never... I've never kissed anybody"
His mouth fell open slightly at the confession, but he recovered quickly, now both his hands holding your pretty face.
"oh" he breathed "that's ok sweetheart, we can wait"
"no I want to kiss you Joel, I really really do... but- but I'm scared I won't be... good at it"
"oh baby" he couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle "You'll be great at it, don't you worry"
Your heart was racing and your breathing hitched as you looked up into his hazel eyes
"do you think- do you think you could... teach me?"
Now Joel Miller didn't deem himself a romantic, but the way you said that... the way you gazed dreamily and both anxiously into his eyes as you spoke those words... he had to stop a moment to thank whoever was up there for having allowed him to meet you.
"of course I can" he said
"yeah?"
"there's nothing I'd like more baby"
And that was it, you were smiling like a kid in a candy store
"s-so what do I do?"
His hands were still on your face, holding you in a way that made your knees weak
"just follow my lead, I'll go slow, don't worry"
You nodded at that, and before you knew it, his lips were on yours and you were- you were giving your first ever kiss.
You got up on your tiptoes and held onto his arms as you closed your eyes and got lost in the feeling- and wow- you had only read in books about it and seen it in a couple of the movies they showed in Jackson, but this... this was just amazing, it felt like you were dreaming, like you had ascended to another universe.
He had kept his promise, he did go slow, but it felt heavenly for him too nonetheless.
He leaned away after what was probably an eternity, to look back at you and confirm this was all real
"so?" he asked, "how was it?"
You couldn't help but giggle as you almost jumped out of your skin from the happiness.
"good" you grinned "very very good"
"mmmhh" he hummed, moving one of his hands to your waist to bring you closer to him "'s that right"
"yeah" you breathed so lowly he wouldn't have heard it if he hadn't been an inch away from your face
"well I'm glad" he smirked, kissing you on the cheek this time "Hopefully we'll do that again then"
"yes please"
He chuckled at that, not leaning away
"would you like a goodnight kiss?"
Not a split second passed that you had already answered
"yes" you nodded, leaning up already "yes please"
And that was how it all started.
That was the night you found your true calling... kissing, and not only that, but kissing Joel Miller.
God, there was nothing better than it,
feeling his beard stroke your cheek, the way his strong hands held you as he did, the way he tasted, the way his warmth spread all over your body, it was all just... perfect
And the coolest thing was that when he said he was gonna teach you, he meant it.
Who knew there were so many ways you could kiss someone?
There were the French kisses, the kisses on the neck, the "special kisses" aka hickeys you loved giving him and that he loved pretending not to like, then the kisses standing up, laying down, and your personal favorite: kissing him while sitting on his lap, and then of course as time went on you both found out (although him especially) how much fun it was to kiss in public, at the bar, on patrol, you name it, it didn't matter, what mattered was that his lips were on yours and his arms were around you (and even if he would have never admitted it, he loved it because he loved showing everyone you were his, and he was yours).
If it were up to you, you'd spend your whole life like that, diving your fingers into his hair as his hands explored every inch of your body, your face, your hips, your ass, your belly (above clothes of course), making you shiver and whimper with every movement.
But it was only just kissing, Joel made a promise to himself he was gonna wait, and it's not that he didn't want to go further, god only knew how many times his dick got hard just by giving you a chaste kiss on the lips as he felt your body pressed against his (and yes that did make him feel like a hormonal teenager again, but then again, everything about you did), so no it definitely wasn't that, and he didn't know if it was because he felt guilty or in some way, like he would be doing something wrong, but for now, all he knew was that he needed to wait, wait until he was sure you were sure about him, and about you.
And for now... for now, you were more than happy with it, counting down the seconds until you'd get a taste of him again.

You had the train car all to yourselves. Few peacekeepers were allowed to leave in the wake of the murders, and for that you were thankful. You were able to let Tybalt out to explore the car, but he mostly stayed on your lap.
You felt guilty about taking him, you didn't even want to ask until your mother insisted, and Coryo wouldn't deny you bringing him. You thought about maybe taking him to a vet when you arrived. There were hardly any in Twelve, none of which made time for domestic animals that weren't livestock of some kind. You had to assume that in the Capitol that was a completely different story, so maybe this would be good for him.
It was dark by now, and Coryo was fast asleep on the bench next to you, head pressed to the window. You suspect he hadn't slept at all the night before.
"Sejanus." You whisper. "Are you awake?"
"Yeah." He replies quietly, sitting across from you at the small table.
"Are you okay?" Your question is met with a few beats of silence.
"I was meant to go with them." He whispers. "I didn't want to go back there."
"The Capitol?" You ask. "Why not?"
"It's not my home." He answers simply. You can hardly see his face in the dark, but you can tell he's sad. Grieving the life he could have had.
"I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault."
"Sejanus?" You whisper, leaning forward to try and see him.
"Hm?"
"Was Lennox going too?"
"No." You can see the shadow of him shaking his head in the dark. "He was only going to bring some supplies for us out to the cabin at the lake and leave them for us to pick up on our way."
You breathe a quiet sigh of relief. He couldn't have left. You knew you couldn't bear it- and your parents would not cope well losing another child. You thought he wouldn't do that, but you weren't confident enough to say for certain. You'd much rather have a rebel for a brother than never see him again. Though, to you, helping friends was hardly an act of rebellion.
"What... what are you going to take?" You ask, hoping to change the topic. It was nice to have him talking again. "At the university, I mean."
"Medicine. I'd like to be a doctor, I think. I want to help people, maybe out in the Districts."
"Of course." You grin. "That's so like you. Your patients will be very lucky people."
"It'll never be enough." He shakes his head and you frown. "I can't help everyone. And everyone outside the Capitol needs it so bad. Did you know my father is the head of munitions in District Two? I'll never be able to make up for the pain my name has caused. Never."
"Well..." You look down at the cat curled up next to you. "You saved Tybs. I can't even tell you how much that means to me. Everything you do will mean so much to people. Even if it's just one person, I think that is more than enough. To try is more than enough."
You see the ghost of a smile twitch on his lips. "Thanks, Y/N. You're gonna do good things, too."
"How unhappy is he who cannot forgive himself."
Sejanus sighs. "Extremely."
A few hours later, it was your turn to sleep. At least, to try. It was hard to get comfortable, curled up on one of the benches with a bag of your clothes as a pillow and Tybalt insisting on sleeping on top of you.
You were just drifting off, you could hardly keep your eyes open, when quickly a nightmare jolts you awake. Bang! The sound of a gunshot- in your dream state you know it's the bullet that found a home in Cole Harlem. The next 'bang' was the sound of your head hitting the table next to you when you shoot back up, unintentionally scaring your cat off of your side.
You hiss, placing a hand on the side of your head and rubbing it through the pain. "Ow..."
"Y/N? Are you okay?" You hear Coryo ask quietly, followed by footsteps across the centre aisle of the train car.
"Mhm." You hum, trying to squint to see him in the poor lighting. It must be almost morning- there's a blue wash beginning to paint over everything onboard, including his form as he's crouched down next to you.
"Let me see..." He says softly, hands already lifted ready to touch you. To see if he can help.
You move a little closer, dropping your hand so he can gently cradle your face in his larger ones, using a finger to turn your head to the side as he examines the bump on your temple.
It's impossible for him to see in this lighting, but if there was blood he would be able to tell. "Just a bump." He whispers. "You'll be alright."
You just nod slightly under his grip, eyes searching for his in the dark. Neither of you want to move. Being this close to you, having you come home with him is a gift he wouldn't dare miss by blinking too slowly or letting his hold on you drift.
"Nightmare?" He asks quietly and you just nod again. Without a word, you're moving back on the bench to the window and he is sliding into the spot next to you. "Do you think you'll be able to get back to sleep?"
"No." You answer softly, giving a slight shake of your head.
"Can I ask what it was about?" He asks. "Tigris always told me talking about it helps."
You chew your lip, looking away from him and down at the empty table. "Cole."
Coryo tenses next to you, his jaw clicking from the small movement. "I... I am sorry." He doesn't know what to say besides that- and he feels like telling you that dirtbag deserved it would do little to help the situation.
"Can I tell you a secret?" You whisper, voice mostly steady.
He nods, watching you expectantly. You take a deep breath. "I'm glad he's dead."
You must be a changed woman. It was hardly like you to say something like that- let alone feel it, but keeping it in would just keep you up at night. Coryo wouldn't hate you for it, you're sure.
He looks at you, head tilted while he confirms with himself that you did, in fact, just say the words he heard. You were the most gentle soul in Panem, he was sure, so what on earth could he have done to you to make you say something like that? Now he was more sure than ever that he did deserve it. "What did he do to you?" His gaze softens as it finds yours, and you slightly shake your head.
"It's... kind of a long story." You whisper.
"I have all the time in the world for you."
He sees the ghost of a smile tug at your lips, and you look down at your lap to process your thoughts. "He just... doesn't, didn't know how to take no for an answer." You try to explain it briefly, but the way Coryo's eyes widen makes you backtrack. "I mean, no. I'm sorry. He didn't hurt me. Well, he did, but not in the way that that sounded like." You take a deep breath. "He asked me if I would like to go on a date with him, and I said no, thank you, because I knew him and I knew he had a temper and I didn't think we would work. So, he would wait outside my school and follow me home everyday. He kept asking, I kept saying no, but he didn't listen. It only made him more mad."
It was a rare occasion that you felt so numb talking about someone who had died. "Then, about three months before the games, I guess he couldn't take the rejection anymore and he dragged me away and... I don't know how to describe it... beat me up. I suppose." You laugh dryly, only noticeable to Coryo because he was watching. "Lennox found us, really got into it with him and then had to literally carry me home with his own black eye and bleeding nose."
He nods slightly in understanding, holding himself together from throwing a fist through the window. He was right. That piece of human garbage did deserve it. Now he had every right to be glad he was dead, and so do you. It makes sense to him now, of course you'd only be pleased with a murder if it was someone who had hurt your brother- the fact that he had hurt you the way he did had nothing to do with it.
"You have every right to be happy." He tells you. "Shit, to be honest now I'm wishing I shot him myself."
"Coryo..." You sigh, frowning at him.
"Too far?" He laughs, and you can't help but join him.
"Yes!"
"'Kay, sorry, love. I'll keep it to myself." He raises his hands defensively, cocking his head to the side.
You're quiet for a moment. It's torturous for you both. "He's the reason I went in after you." Your voice is lowered now, noticeably. "He said that I had to go out on that date with him after you left, otherwise I shouldn't be shocked if my Pa ends up executed for treason."
Coryo swallows, staring at you in absolute shock. It just kept getting worse.
"I was terrified, I didn't know what to do, I couldn't be alone anymore. You would have left the next morning and I would have been with him. And I knew he wouldn't have let me talk to you ever again, and I was so scared you would hate me and you'd never know that I didn't have a choice."
"I could never hate you." He says, taking the calculated risk of reaching out to touch your hair, rolling the ends of the soft strands between his fingers. "It'd break my heart, but I wouldn't hate you."
"That's almost worse." You laugh quietly, eyes locked on his hand at your side.
"I'm glad you're coming with us. I don't know how I could live without you." He glances down at your lips, only a shadow in the dark as you pull your bottom lip between your teeth.
"Morning without you is a dwindled dawn." You agree, and that's all he can handle before he has to kiss you again.
He's so gentle when he holds your jaw in his hand and presses his lips to yours that you aren't sure if there really was a static shock that accompanied it or if that was just your body reacting to his skin on your own.
"I love you, Y/N/N." You almost swallow his words, smiling against his lips. "You know that, right?"
"I love you too, Coryo."
You tried to get as much sleep as possible over the two day ride, waking when the sun rises and you could feel the heat on your skin. You could see the tall buildings that made up the city in the distance.
People say that a ride back always feels faster, because you're familiar with the path; that your mind chooses to forget the uneventful sections. You believe it. The ride home had felt like it took an eternity, but this time it felt too fast. You were nervous; scared, more than excited. Even though this is supposed to be a good thing.
If Coryo had just asked if you would like to go with him, what would you have said? No matter how many hours you put into the question, you really don't know. Not until Cole threatened your family, anyways. You would have had to turn him down, then. Regardless, you were never given the privilege of a choice.
This isn't about him. You have to remind yourself. This is about saving your family, in more ways than one.
Maybe it really was a good thing that Cole was shot. You curse yourself for even thinking such a thing, but with him alive the only possible outcome was him having your father killed. You could only be the perfect girlfriend for so long- you knew him, one mistake from you and he would make true on his word. Then you would have to marry him in order to have another income. Your winnings from the games would only take you so far on your own.
You're not sure if it's the swaying of the train that's really making you sick.
You would get your answer an hour later when your train crossed the bridge over the river, and the Capitol was in full, glorious view.
You could physically feel the blood draining from your face as you stare out the window, unable to look away. You looked like a deer in headlights.
"Y/N/N?" Coryo hums, placing a hand on your leg. "You okay?"
You nod slightly, but you're hardly processing what's happening around you.
He frowns, leaning forward to be able to get a closer look at your face. You look like you're about to vomit or faint or both. "Look." He smiles, patting your leg and pointing out the window. "That tall building there, you see it?" You nod slowly, watching where he's pointing. "Up on the top floor there's a restaurant with big floor to ceiling windows that overlook the river and the mountains. It's beautiful." He's never been there, but he's heard it's incredible.
"And over there, that smaller, longer building is a mall." He tells you, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and sliding closer as you continue to follow his hand. "On the outside there's this ice cream shop that makes the most amazing flavours. Literally anything you can imagine." He chuckles slightly. "I'll take you there."
You smile slightly, and the colour begins to return to your face with a slight rosiness in your cheeks.
"After the tunnel we'll pass the university." He grins. "It's a really nice campus, you'll love it there. They have a massive library."
You close your eyes as the train plunges into the darkness of the tunnel, nodding slightly.
"What would you like to do? We can go anywhere."
"I... today I'd just like to go home." You answer quietly.
"Of course, love. But another day, sometime in the future."
You think for a moment. "Is there a vet here?" You ask and he nods.
"I'd like to take Tybs to get looked at. He's not sick, or anything... but he's never been to the vet before so I'd just like to make sure he's in good health." You explain.
"Yeah, we can definitely do that." Coryo agrees. "And there's this bookstore that's three stories tall, you'll love it." He adds.
"Can I meet your cousin?"
"Yes, love. Of course. She'll live with us, you'll be the best of friends." Coryo explains, squeezing your shoulder. He hadn't yet considered you meeting his family, he didn't even have the chance to tell them you were coming. It would be fine, he knew that. They had the room and the funds to support another person now, that wasn't even a question. Tigris had been dying to meet you, wanting to know every detail about you before the games and especially in his phone calls home while he was in Twelve.
He realized suddenly that maybe he should be worried about his Grandma'am. He knew she had a prejudice against people in the Districts, she had voiced as much during his mentorship. She had even influenced a similar attitude in him his whole life- but you were different. You weren't like them, and she would have to learn that, but that didn't make him any less nervous about what she might say to you until then.
"I'm excited." You tell him, forcing yourself to only think about the good things to come.
Your hands are shaking as you pull into the station. You can already see it's a different one than you were pulled from last time, the first place you met Coryo. You grab your bags, holding the one containing Tybalt close to your chest as the door opens and you walk out. He wasn't too fond of getting back inside after having the freedom of roaming the train car, but you were grateful he was not a very temperamental cat.
Mostly, the station was deserted. There were a few peacekeepers here and there, but you still felt as though all eyes were on you.
You didn't notice when your friends were greeted by their waiting family members, still looking around and processing your surroundings.
"Y/N/N?" Coryo's voice brings you back to reality, and you realize you hadn't taken a single step away from the train yet. "Come here."
You smile as you walk over, eyeing who you assume to be his cousin.
"Hello, there." You grin, giving a slight wave but still holding tightly onto your cat.
"Y/N." Tigris smiles, her blonde hair draped over her shoulders in meticulously styled curls. "It's so amazing to meet you! I'm Tigris, Coryo's cousin."
"Yes, you as well." You nod, trying to mask your nervousness with a smile. "How are you?"
"I'm amazing, I am just so pleased you're here. What a great surprise!" She claps, and you take in her outfit. You've never seen such fine materials, outside maybe the silk scarf Coryo gave you that is now tucked in the old suitcase sitting next to his feet. You wonder if she made the clothes she was wearing, remembering he said she was a designer.
"Coryo has told me so much about you. I've been excited to meet you."
"I really wanted to come see you before the games but I couldn't get away from work, I'm so sorry this is the first time we're meeting." She says and you swallow, nodding slightly in response. "Will you be staying with us?"
"If... if that's okay." You say, looking to Coryo who nods.
"Of course that's okay." He answers on her behalf, but she nods in agreement.
"Yes, you're always welcome. We're so happy to have you."
"Thank you." You breathe a silent sigh of relief.
"We should get going, yeah?" Tigris says and you nod, adjusting your hold on the bag in your arms.
They start to walk, already talking about all the excitement of the trip when you get a tap on your shoulder. You jump slightly, turning and pulling your bag closer to your chest.
"Sorry, dear. I didn't mean to startle you." The woman smiling sadly at you must be Sejanus's Ma. He's standing with her, so it was the only assumption you could make.
"It's okay." You reply quietly, smiling at her politely.
"Y/N, this is my Ma." Sejanus introduces you, confirming your suspicions.
"Nice to meet you." You smile, and she brings her hands up to place on your shoulders, gently rubbing them.
"It's so good to meet you, dear." You feel so greatly comforted by her already. "Sejanus told me you would be staying for a while."
"Yes, ma'am."
"You call me Ma." She quickly corrects you, and you match her smile. You could cry- the burning behind your eyes is telling you that you just might. "We know damn well how hard this transition is, so if you need anything at all at any time, you call us. Okay? We'll help you however we can. With anything."
You smile at them, tears filling your eyes. "Thank you." You sniff, and she pulls you into a hug.
Graciously, and awkwardly with Tybalt still between you, you accept. You never want her to let go.
"Of course, dear. You'll always have a home away from home with us if you need it."
"I can no other answer make, but thanks, and thanks." You say, tears flowing now. You never seem to stop crying- but for the first time in a long time, it was from real happiness.
"Twelfth Night." Ma says as she pulls away, still holding your arms.
You laugh slightly, biting into your bottom lip and nodding. "Yes! You've read it?"
"I brushed up after Coriolanus came around asking for Romeo and Juliet." Ma shrugs, letting you go and letting Sejanus give you a hug as well.
"Coryo has our number. Call anytime, I mean it." He tells you and you nod against his shoulder. "But I'll see you soon, okay? We'll hangout all the time."
"All the time." You agree as he lets you go. "I don't want to keep them waiting, so..."
"Yes, of course. It was so good to meet you." Ma smiles.
"You as well, Ma. I'll see you soon I am certain." You wave goodbye and catch up to Coryo and Tigris, who stopped just a little ways away to wait for you. "Sorry..."
Tigris wipes the worried expression off her face. Coryo probably just had to explain why you were there. "Don't worry about it! Ready to go?"
"Yes." You grin, quickly wiping your eyes. "Lead the way."
There are so many things that you hadn't considered on the train ride. Such as, where was the nearest post office? Or how is Tybs going to handle being indoors constantly? You'll have to get him a litter box- you've never had one before since he was mostly an outdoor cat, and would he need toys now that there probably wouldn't be mice or birds for him to hunt?
Also, there was the immediately obvious fact that the stares you were getting were endless. People even stopped you asking for pictures on the way back- Coryo had to tell them no. Several times. It wasn't any longer than a twenty minute walk.
Everyone seemed so excited to see you, to talk to you. Or, talk at you, rather. It was uncomfortable, but it was so different than what you were used to at home. Especially after the games, people tended to literally cross the street to avoid talking to you. Here, it was the opposite. You were some kind of celebrity. You knew Capitol people liked the games, but you didn't know it was like this. You tried to be polite, but being celebrated for something so awful is hard to swallow. You almost preferred the shame that came with being avoided.
"Is it normally like that?" You ask quietly as you walk into the lobby of a tall building, the floors and pillars lined with white marble. You had never seen anything like it.
"I'm not sure." Coryo answers honestly. "You are the first Victor to ever come back, but like I said, people loved you. Thousands of people watched just for you. That's why I won the Plinth Prize- you boosted the viewership beyond what's ever been seen before."
"Oh." You answer simply, following them into a set of silver sliding doors in the wall.
"When we get up I'll make you something to eat, you guys must be starving." Tigris says as the mechanical doors slide shut again, and you tilt your head.
"Uhm... I-" Your question is halted by a steady shake of the small room you're in, and it feels like you're moving.
Coryo looks over at you and your wide eyes, furrowing his brow. "What's wrong?"
"Are we moving?" You ask, looking around. You're surrounded by mirrors, only seeing endless reflections of the three of you.
Tigris covers her mouth to hide her smile, and Coryo laughs. "Yes, love." The two of them look at each other briefly. "This is an elevator, in a second the doors will open and we'll be at our apartment."
"Oh, wow." You laugh slightly, in a small amount of shock.
"I didn't even think that you might not know what it is, I'm sorry." Coryo chuckles, gently rubbing circles onto your back as the doors slide open again and just like he told you, you were somewhere new.
"That's okay, I just have a lot to learn apparently." You giggle, shaking your head as you step out of the so-called "elevator". You look back inside it as the doors slide shut. "So, how does it work?"
"Honestly, I am not entirely sure of the mechanics of it but there's a motor up top, and when you press that button it lifts to you and then lowers to where you want to go." He explains as Tigris pulls out her key to unlock the door. "It didn't work for over ten years, so it's kind of new to me too."
He's trying to make you feel less embarrassed, and that makes you smile at him. "I see. That's neat."
"It is, isn't it?" Coryo grins. He was in absolute awe of you everyday, but now that he's realized that there are so many things you don't know, even as the smartest person he's ever met, and that he wants to show you absolutely everything. Had you even tried ice cream before? What else would be new to you? There were certainly no cars besides peacekeeper trucks in Twelve, not that he had seen anyways, so it must have been jarring for you to see civilian vehicles on the walk back. He should have asked.
As adorable that it was that there were things you had never seen before, it almost worried him in a way he hadn't considered before. You would need him around a lot- not that he minded one bit. He had liked that about the games, he knew where you were while you were caged up at the zoo and he could leave and come back with the comfort of knowing you would be there waiting for him.
His thoughts are interrupted when Tigris gets the door open, shouting for their grandma'am. He takes a deep breath, smiling as he holds the door for you. It is good to be home.
"We have company!" Tigris calls out as you walk in, and you look around focussed on keeping your mouth shut as not to physically gawk at their home. Their apartment was beautiful, with a somewhat open concept and halls that spun off in all directions from the main foyer.
"Oh, lovely! We haven't had company in ages. You should get the tea on, dear." You hear his grandmothers voice before you see her, sparing a glance at Coryo. If he's nervous, he doesn't look it.
She looks like the sweetest old lady, her white hair matching the shade of her silk robe and slippers. "Oh, Coryo!" She smiles, heading straight to him and giving him a hug. "How we have missed you..."
"I missed you too, grandma'am." He sighs, gentle as he hugs her back. When he lets her go, it seems like she has noticed you for the first time.
The excited smile on her face fades instantaneously as she looks you up and down. "Who's this?"
"This is Y/N. You remember I told you about her, right?"
"I do." She nods, a sour look on her face as she stares at you.
"Hello, you must be Coriolanus's grandmother, it is so lovely to finally meet you." You smile, readjusting your bag so you can hold it in one arm in order to extend your hand to her to shake. She doesn't take it. "You have a beautiful home, Mrs. Snow." You continue when she doesn't answer you, holding your smile and trying not to seem terrified. It was like the lead-up to the games all over again.
"What's in her bag?" She asks Coryo when she sees it move, ignoring you altogether as you awkwardly drop your hand.
"That's Tybalt, her cat. He's the softest thing, you'll love him." He smiles, an apologetic look in his eyes as he glances over at you. This is exactly what he was afraid of.
"A cat?" His grandmother gasps, taking a step back with a hand to her chest. For a moment, you were scared she was about to have a heart attack.
"Grandma'am, you love cats!" Tigris says, stepping back in from the kitchen with a kettle in hand. "Y/N, come join us in the sitting room. I'm just getting some snacks together."
"Not feral ones!" She replies, appalled.
"Oh, he's not feral, Ma'am." You assure her. "Unless you're a mouse or a bird, he's the gentlest animal alive."
"Coriolanus Snow how dare you bring these... these strays into our home!" Now she's talking like you aren't even there, and you can't help but laugh nervously.
You look away, anywhere but at either of them. Maybe you would be calling Sejanus and his Ma for somewhere to stay by the end of the afternoon.
"They aren't strays." He defends you quickly, frowning. Okay, this was what he was afraid of.
"Here, come sit, Y/N." Tigris says quietly, placing the kettle back down and guiding you out of the room with hands on your shoulders. "I am so, so sorry." She whispers as you walk away.
"It's quite alright." You insist. "She didn't know I was coming, it was all so short notice. I completely understand." She didn't even know you were staying yet.
The sound of Coryo talking down his grandmother faded into muffled sounds as Tigris closes the door to what looks to be a bedroom. "No, no it's not right." Tigris frowns, shaking her head. "I don't want to make excuses for her but the war and the dark days were so hard on her, a lot of the blame was placed on the people from the Districts. She lost both her children and she never really came back from that."
"No, I do understand." You smile sadly. "I'm so sorry you and your family went through that. It must have been so difficult."
"The war was awful for everyone." Tigris shakes her head. "Please, don't apologize to us. No one came out of that unharmed."
"Do you mind if I let Tybalt out?" You ask, eager to change the subject.
"Please." Tigris grins, clearly just as relieved that you weren't horribly offended by their grandmothers behaviour. "I'm excited to meet him."
You smile, crouching down and opening up the carrier for him to hop out. He does so promptly, taking advantage of the opportunity.
"He's so cute!" Tigris squeaks, crouching down to pet him. He was a little jarred at first by new surroundings, but he quickly accepted them when she began petting him. "It'll be so nice to have a fluffy friend here."
"Thank you for being okay with me bringing him." You smile, taking the time to look around the room yourself. Everything looked hardly touched, all sparkly and new with corner windows lighting up the space beautifully.
"Our home is your home." She smiles, standing up again and Tybalt is quick to run over to you, rubbing up against your legs. "That applies to both of you. Grandma'am will come around."
"Thank you." You smile. "The soul should always stand ajar, ready to welcome the ecstatic experience."
When she smiles, you can see outside of the blonde hair how her and Coryo are related. "You truly are something else."
"Oh, I hope that's a good thing..." You laugh.
"Yes, absolutely." She laughs. "I'll go get that tea going again and get the guest room all set up for you. The bathroom is right across the hall if you need it, and Coryo will come get you when grandma'am has relaxed a bit."
"Thank you." You say again, watching your cat hop up onto the desk against the back wall.
She gives you a quick hug. "Welcome home." She says softly, shutting the door behind her as she leaves.

Its cold outside, but when i'm in your arms the icy cold just melts away~
Tumblr media
Ace trappola
✧˚ · .Winter season is upon the land of Twisted wonderland. The freezing weather causing people to bundle up into their warmest attire. But with the winter season you know what else is there? Why Winter break of course! Many students are in their dorm rooms excitedly packing to go back home and enjoy the holidays with their loved ones. All but one student is.....
✧˚ · . "Arn't you gonna start packing yet Ace?" Deuce asked.
✧˚ · ."Nah, i'm staying at school, the family isn't home so i guess just stay at school. Plus if i did stay with my family their gonna nag me none stop. Its a pain in the ass man"
✧˚ · ."Well alright, i personally am excited to see my mom again" "I know, mama's boy~" Ace teased "Am Not!" yelled Deuce" by that time Ace already left their dorm room chuckling while walking to the mirror to lead him back to campus. As he entered then excited the mirror a cold breeze hit him as he shivered. "Jeez this weather is worst than last year" he thought. He walked around campus weirded out by how quiet it is. At this point most of the students are already in the mirror room leaving campus, or others are still packing in their dorms. Regardless of that it felt a bit weird... but also calming. Ace watched as the snowflakes fell and covered everything like a blanket. But something caught his eye, or maybe... someone.
✧˚ · .Ace walked up behind a tree to watch as two people er- one person and one cat play in the snow. "Hey y/n if your going to force me here i'm going to freeze my tail off!!!" Ace chuckled behind the tree as he watched. "Oh grim don't be such a prick, yeah its cold but at least its not burning hot right" y/n said with a smile.
✧˚ · .Ace couldn't help but smile as he watched y/n play in the snow with an annoyed grim. But he wanted to make his presence finally known so he did something a normal person would do. START A SNOWBALL FIGHT!! "Hey y/n look here!" y/n didn't even have enough time to turn to the voice when a cold ball of snow hit her face "Hey!! Ace u brat!" Ace couldn't hold back his smirk but it was soon wiped off when a snow ball hit his forehead "Hey! I wasn't ready!" "Neither was i!" as u could guess this lead the two have a snow ball fight while grim was standing a good 7 feet away so he dosent get hit. The snow ball lasted for a while but finally ended when y/n called quits "Hey hey stop i retreat!!" y/n said laughing. Ace put down the snow ball he was about to throw laughing as well. ✧˚ · ."Damn i didnt know you were good at throwing and aiming y/nwith that skill u could be good at basketball you know~"
✧˚ · ." Thanks but no thanks i've already have to deal with taking care of ramshackle and grim i don't want another thing added to my plate"
✧˚ · .y/n looked up and notice the snow getting stronger "jeez the snow is really coming down huh. I think it best to back to our dorms, grim already beat me to it" She said looking at where grim once stood when they were having a snow ball flight. "Oh uh.. Do u mind if i crash at your place? Im the only one left in the dorm and it feels weird not gonna lie" ace said as he scratched the back of his neck "not at all" y/n said smiling at ace. Ace had a faint blush on his cheek but quickly hid it as they walked to Ramshackle. They both entered the dorm and took off their shoes and coats. "You head to the living room the fire place is on, i'll get us some hot cocoa" Ace followed y/n's orders and plopped himself on the couch which was decorated with festive pillows and blankets.
✧˚ · .Y/n soon entered the room with a tray of hot cocoa and placed it on the coffee table and sat down covering their legs with a cozy blanket. "Jeez even with the fire on and the hot cocoa its still freezing cold" y/n said "you know... i have a way of warming up" y/n raised a brow and looked at him. Ace then wrapped an arm around y/n's waist and the other pulling y/n closer to his chest as he rested his head on top of y/n's. Both of them were blushing, but y/n soon recovered from being flustered and buried her head in his chest as she adjusted the blanket so both of them were covered well.
And just like that, the chilly frosty air wasn't so cold anymore~
Requests are open!! ^^

💔Himuro Tatsuya, Hanamiya Makoto, and Aomine Daiki Getting Jealous Headcannons💔
➽───────────────❥➽───────────────❥
Hello there Anon. I still remember if you were allowed to ask for Headcanons and once I open, I quickly told you that you can request me quickly before it gets full so yeah I hope you like the final result!
Gender: Neutral Warning: Creeps being creepy and OAmine being slightly violent

Himuro Tatsuya - Yōsen High School
Tumblr media
We can see from the Anime that Himuro can be pretty gentlemanly to women (But not really when it comes to Kagami. I don't really like how rude he is with Kagami but I do like when he tries to defend Alex from Haizaki.)
He might be all calm on the outside with a soft smile on his face and you thought he is okay when there was another guy/girl coming up to you with an intention to court you.
But let's check what is inside of his head and you will know that he is indeed furious when that person waltzes up to you and thinks they could court you or take your attention away.
The first time, he would smile and politely tell the person to leave you alone because you are his boyfriend/girlfriend/partner and that person should respect that.
If the person still does not budge and keeps trying to get close to you. That's when things can be scary. I believe he is not a violent person but he could be very cunning and manipulative.
He would also indirectly insult the person without sounding like he is insulting the person. (In fact, I do believe he can pull 'Dog Whistle Manipulation' which means a gaslighting abuse technique where an abuser can cause suffering to another without others being aware of what is occurring.)
You can just see the shame of that person without you realizing what just happens to that person as the person is walking with their tail between their legs.

The sky gets darker as the snow starts to fall from the sky. The air is getting colder each minute as the temperature drops. When (Y/N) was young, the young feela used to love snow because the neighbourhood kids would play together with you, playing freeze tag or snowball wars and going home to drink hot chocolate on Christmas day.
However, you are not little anymore, and those loves of snow are replaced with despise. The older version of (Y/N) easily got sick and cold, and the next day you immediately got the flu from the horrible winter. This did not go unnoticed by your beloved boyfriend, who sometimes let you wear his scarves just so you would not be cold.
But today is different; the basketball training is getting really late, and you have to wait for your boyfriend, who is still training Basketball for the upcoming Winter Cup. You do hear the opponent in the winter cup will be even tougher, so it was understandable that your boyfriend was training hard.
As (Y/N) stood there, eyes fixed on the basketball court, (Y/N) couldn't help but be amazed by the sheer dedication and skill of Himuro Tatsuya. Every shot he took seemed like a work of art, a perfectly executed masterpiece. The way he controlled the ball, the precision with which he released it, and the accuracy with which it found its target were nothing short of mesmerizing.
Beads of sweat formed on (Y/N)'s forehead, and a faint flush crept across their/her/his cheeks, but (Y/N) paid no mind, entirely absorbed by the mastery of his shooting skills. The room's atmosphere seemed charged with energy, only when you finally tore your gaze away for a moment and you realize the warmth that had filled the space. It was getting very bothering
A friendly voice broke (Y/N)'s concentration. Turning to the source of the sound, (Y/N) was surprised to see one of Yosen's players. He was tall with unkempt brunette hair along with freckles adorned across the bridge of his nose. He's pretty cute in your opinion but you're dating Himuro Tatsuya. "Hey! Excuse me, pretty/handsome. It seems you're thirsty. Do you want some cold drink?" He had a welcoming smile and held out a cold refreshing drink.
(Y/N) was a little bit hesitant to accept the guy's drink. (Y/N) did not think anything bad about the guy since (Y/N) is aware that they are in the basketball gym and it feels rude to reject the guy's offer but they/she/he did not know who is this guy. Before you could take the bottle, you felt a sudden presence beside you.
It was Himuro Tatsuya, his usually warm smile taking on an oddly forced quality. It didn't take long for (Y/N) to sense a hint of jealousy beneath his polite exterior. He gently push (Y/N) behind him and stood in front of the guy. "Thank you for the kind gesture," he began, his voice steady, "but I believe you don't need to offer a drink to my boyfriend/girlfriend/partner," His words carried a gentle authority, making it clear that he appreciated the gesture but wanted to set a boundary.
The player couldn't help but sense the undercurrents of Himuro's subtle jealousy despite Himuro not being aggressive. is realization, combined with Himuro's polite yet firm words, left the Yosen player to respect his boundaries. "I am very sorry, Himuro-Senpai. I was just offering her/him/them a drink," with a nod and a slightly sheepish smile, the Yosen player decided to back away gracefully, allowing Himuro to be together with you.

Hanamiya Makoto - Kirisaki Daichi High School
Tumblr media
Good luck to whoever made Hanamiya Jealous when they keep trying to make themselves close to you. I'm not joking, he is much worse than Himuro.
Unlike Himuro, his patience is not as thick as his and he would use all kinds of tactics against those who made him jealous while still playing the 'Innocent' card.
Whereas your dumb brain is still not aware that he was actually harassing the other person with just simply his words, railing against the person that made him jealous with a smile.
Listen to me, he definitely trying to guilt trip whoever made him jealous by asking them "Do you really hate me that much that you don't let me spend my time with my S/O? That's really mean of you," with a fake sad face.
If that's not working? Prepare another card he is going to use for that person who made him jealous. He could play the victim card after he made an insult that attacks the person's insecurity.
I do think he still has his violent tendencies but he can clearly hide it well when there are many people watching. For example, he would step on the person's foot on purpose but when the person tattletale. He would just not admit it or he would just say he doesn't mean it
So don't even think trying to make him jealous or he is going to make everyone hates you or people giving you those dirty stare even though you didn't do anything particularly wrong.

As (Y/N)'s sat in the classroom, (Y/N)'s focus was entirely on the teacher at the front of the room, eagerly explaining the Geometric which (Y/N) is already good with. (Y/N) would be scribbling notes furiously, trying to capture all of the important notes without missing important details and by doing this. It would make it much easier at the house to just read it and remember the given formulas.
The resounding chime of the school bell echoed through the hallways, signalling the long-awaited end of the day. Students quickly gathered their belongings, ready to leave the torturous day and go back to their beloved home sweet home, including the certain someone with (H/C) hair colour and (S/C) Skin colour.
Before I could leave the classroom, I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder. Turning around, I saw my teacher staring at me with hopeful eyes. "(L/N)-San, May I speak with you for a moment. I need your help," she spoke. "Of course, what is it. Sensei?" (Y/N) asks the old woman. "I would like you to help with your fellow student. Eikichi-san, he is struggling with Geometric and you are the only student who could help him. If you teach him, I would give you more scores," the old woman asks.
(Y/N) was a little bit hesitant as you turn around to see the student. The guy had partly dyed blonde hair and he has that vibe that writes 'trouble' all over him. Nevertheless, the teacher promised you a bonus point for your score. "I will try teaching him geometric for the upcoming test," You told the teacher. "Thank you so much, (Y/N). I knew I could count on you," she smiles.
‿︵‿︵\ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ/︵‿︵‿Timeskip
(Y/N) was sitting across from Eikichi who is staring at her/him/them. His eyes would be looking at you from your chest and your face. Despite (Y/N) writing the notes, (Y/N) could feel him staring like a creep it sent a shiver down her/his/their spine. His attempts at flirting were blatant, and it made the whole situation rather uncomfortable. While (Y/N) was there to genuinely assist and teach, he seemed more interested in making offhand comments about my appearance and attempting to turn the lesson into an awkward exchange. "So, are you free today, cutie? We can go home and ignore all of this and we would have so much fun," he winks.
As the inappropriate comments from the guy continued, (Y/N)'s patience wore thin. They/her/he was on the verge of delivering a piece of their mind and stopping the guy from being creepy until I feel a presence behind me. When I turned around, there was Makoto Hanamiya
Hanamiya, with his signature cocky grin, couldn't resist the opportunity to put the overly flirtatious and creepy student in his place. "Ah, trying to charm someone who is taken, are we? You've got a knack for numbers, I see. Shame you're just not adding up in the 'respect for personal space' department," His words carried a mix of sarcasm and a cold jab. Indirectly calling him an idiot.
The student's face turned a shade of embarrassment, and you couldn't help but hold your own laughter with Hanamiya's remarks who are calling the guy idiot and creepy indirectly. The creepy student's face flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and anger at Makoto's sharp remark.
In a feeble attempt to save face, he mustered a nervous chuckle before unleashing a mocking retort. "SHUT THE HELL UP EYEBROWS! YOU'LL REGRET THIS!" The guy stood from his chair as he keeps pointing his finger at Hanamiya. With a huff and a flustered glare, the student gathered his belongings and stormed off, muttering under his breath. It was clear that he couldn't handle the witty banter and had been outmatched by Hanamiya's sharp tongue "Thanks for shooing that guy away," You sigh in relief. "...Sure, whatever. You owe me some chocolate bars...and I want the dark one. Not the normal milk one," The Kirisaki Daichi captain sat next to (Y/N) before putting his arm around (Y/N(.

Aomine Daiki - Touou High School
Tumblr media
I'm not going to say sorry about what I am going to say but Aomine are much more obvious than them. He is also much more man-child than Himuro and Hanamiya.
Unlike Hanamiya and HImuro. Aomine is much more obvious when he is jealous when someone is taking his attention away but it depends on the person too.
Someone with pure intention that just wants to be your friend or cute animal? Aomine definitely gonna sulk and give you the silent treatment. If you ask him what makes him angry, he would say: "Why don't you go with that friends/pets of yours!" while pouting.
Someone with bad intentions or some kind of casanova wannabe that thinks they can get your attention? He's going to confront them by standing in front of them and giving them the scariest glare. "Leave my girlfriend/boyfriend you fucking creep!" Scaring them away.
If the person still does not leave you alone. He would not be afraid to use his hands to punch the daylight of the person just like what he did to Haizaki but worse
Once they left, he would just keep his hands on yours and not let anyone get close to you. If you ask about it, he would just gonna say: "I'm just protecting you from those assholes," he mutters.
Aomine is far away from the word subtle. He would make sure that everyone knows that you are his girlfriend/boyfriend by holding your hands the whole way when you two go home.
Ⰶ║ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ ⵈ║Ⰶ
It was in the afternoon as (Y/N) and Momoi sat on the bleachers, their eyes fixed on the intense basketball game unfolding before them. It was an exhilarating match, as Aomine and Kagami, two titans of the court, faced off in a display of skill and determination. Their movements were swift, dribbling the ball with finesse, leaping through the air to score impossible shots. The atmosphere was charged with excitement, and Momoi and I couldn't help but cheer for both of them, appreciating the incredible talent on display.
Momoi glanced at (Y/N), a playful smile on her face, and declared that she would go fetch some drinks from the vending machine. "(Y/N)-chan! Tell me everything that happens in the court. I will get us something to drink!" She takes a few cash from her purse before skipping away to get some refreshing drinks.
Nodding, (Y/N) watch her leave before she pays attention to Aomine and Kagami competing against each other. Those players seemed to be giving it their all, determined to outdo each other. You couldn't help but be in awe of the raw power and skill they possessed
As (Y/N) engrossed in her/his/their own world, there was an unmistakable feeling of someone's presence beside (Y/N). A subtle shift in the atmosphere, a hint of another person's energy, caught your attention. (Y/N) turned their/her/his head slightly, curious who might it be. A mysterious figure wearing a baseball cap. concealed his features. The brim cast a shadow over his face, making it nearly impossible to make out any details.
The guy in a baseball cap demeanour was unsettling. The guy leaned in a little too close, his words laced with a tone that sent chills through my veins. He began to flirt, but it wasn't the playful, charming kind of flirtation. It was invasive, predatory, making me feel trapped and vulnerable. "Hey there, cutiepie. Do you want to see seven foot long? I'm sure you have never seen it. Especially as someone as attractive as you," He licks his lips.
Out of nowhere, a basketball came hurtling through the air, narrowly missing the guy with the baseball cap and landing with a thud beside (Y/N) and the creepy guy. The guy with the baseball cap and I jolted with surprise, their attention instantly drawn to the ball lying there. As they turned in the direction the ball had come from, their locked eyes on Aomine, who stood a few feet away, his expression a mix of hatred and anger in his eyes.
Aomine's voice cut through the unease like a blade. His glare intensified, and his words were laced with a deadly seriousness that sent a shiver down the spine of the creepy guy. "If you ever lay a finger on my partner again, I won't hesitate to break your face. This court is meant for the game, not for your twisted games," Aomine's words not only send a shiver to the stranger but also to (Y/N) too.
The creepy guy visibly gulped, "I-I'm sorry, man. I didn't mean any harm," he mumbled, his eyes darting between Aomine's stern face and the basketball lying nearby. He quickly realized he had crossed the line. Without waiting for a response, the stranger hastily turned on his heels, not daring to look back, and fled from the court, disappearing into the distance.
Aomine's protective instinct kicked in as he walked over to (Y/N), his concern evident in his eyes. He gently pulled (Y/N) into a reassuring hug, his strong arms offering a sense of security. "Hey, are you alright?" he asked softly. Looking up at Aomine, (Y/N) shook their head, grateful he was there to stop the guy from getting further, "I'm okay, Aomine. He didn't touch me." "Good, "If he ever tries anything again, don't hesitate to let me know. I'll make sure he regrets it," he promises.

12 Days of Christmas Masterlist
Tumblr media
The winter chill has settled over Brooklyn, New York, covering the streets in a layer of pristine snow. School has just gotten out for winter break and it seems like the crime has died down a bit, so Miles hasn't really had anything to do. Feeling a bit restless, he glances out of his window at the snowy world below. With a sigh, Miles reaches for his phone, deciding to make his day more interesting and text his best friend, Y/N.
Miles: "Yo, you busy?"
You were in your home, lounging in your room as you scroll on your phone. A notification shows up at the top of your screen and you see it's a message from Miles. You look at the text you received and raise an eyebrow, curious as to why he was asking.
Y/N: "Nah, I'm free right now. What's up?
Miles: "You wanna hang out? I'm bored..."
Y/N: "Yeah, I'm down. What did you have in mind?"
Miles: "Dunno, we could just chill at my house?"
You sigh at his suggestion, rolling your eyes and shaking your head.
Y/N: "I'm tired of being inside, I wanna go out somewhere. How 'bout that ice skating place that just opened a few weeks ago?"
Miles had to pause, contemplating on whether or not to go. But he decided that if it made you happy, he wanted to take you there.
Miles: "Sure, I'm down. You better not be scared to go ice skating."
His reply sounded as if he was mocking you.
Y/N: "Speak for yourself. They don't call me Ice Queen for nothin'😉❄️"
Miles couldn't help but chuckle.
Miles: "Sure, Miss 'Ice Queen'. Let's do this."
Fifteen minutes later, you and Miles are walking down the snowy streets, heading towards the ice skating rink. While walking, the cold surrounded you two, a slight breeze causing Miles to wince and rub his arms a bit.
"Dang, it's kinda cold out here." He says, looking over at you, presuming you were also cold.
"What? You can't handle a little chill?" You ask teasingly, hiding the fact that you are chilly as well. Miles scoffs and looks over as his breath is visible.
"You don't look any less frozen than me, Ice Queen." He moves closer to you, rubbing his shoulder against yours in an attempt to warm himself. You laugh sarcastically at his joke and bump his shoulder playfully.
"We're almost there, crybaby," You say, pointing up ahead. Miles was going to give a comeback in response, but he was too damn cold to really care too much.
"Good, I'm freezing my ass off." He admits, his teeth chattering a bit as he speaks. When we get inside, it's still cold but definitely warmer than outside. We head up to the front desk and pay for some rentals before heading over to a bench to put the skates on. Miles struggles a bit with his. He's a bit uncoordinated sometimes, so it takes him some time to actually put them on properly. Although, once he's done, he smiles and looks at you expectantly.
"So? Show me what you got, Ice Queen." He says with a slight laugh. You meet his challenge with a smirk.
"Watch and learn, Morales!" You glide out gracefully onto the ice, noticing that there's not that many people out. Miles shuffles over to the ice, holding onto the wall as he watches you. "See? I know what I'm doing." Miles rolls his eyes playfully at you.
"Sure, keep thinking that. But hey, if you fall, I'll be there to catch you. Sound fair?" He laughs, sounding a bit flirtatious. You laugh in response.
"You wish I would fall!" You shout as you take a lap around the rink. You come back around and Miles is still waiting at the edge of the ice. "Whatchu waiting for, slow poke?" You taunt. He gives you a determined look and steps out onto the ice. Although, before he can even finish taking a step, he falls onto the cold floor, landing on his butt. You skate over to him, holding out a hand. Miles looks up at you, seeming a little bit embarrassed.
"What was that you said about catching me if I fall? Maybe I should've been saying that." You tease as you stifle a laugh. He shakes his head as he grabs your hand and pulls himself up.
"Shut up. I tripped." He insists, obviously lying to himself.
"On thin air, or your ego?" You stick your tongue out tauntingly and start skating forward.
"Thin air, definitely. My ego's still very much in tact, thank you." You chuckle as he catches up, the two of you now gliding on the ice together. Miles is a bit wobbly, but he finds his balance, hoping not to fall on his ass again. You shake your head and hold your hand out to him.
"Here, just hold onto me." You offer with a small smirk on your face. Miles gives you a smug look back, taking your hand and standing upright.
"My hero." He replies mockingly. You roll your eyes and he pulls you closer to him as you both skate forward. "You know, if you wanted to hold my hand, Y/N, you could've just said so." He teases, giving you a wink.
"What? No, I was just being nice. If you wanted to hold my hand, you could've just asked." You retort playfully, giving him a nudge with your elbow. He looks as if he's going to lose his balance for a moment, but then recovers, glaring at you as you snicker at him.
"Uh huh, that's what they all say." He scoffs and you continue to laugh at him. Suddenly, he loses his balance again and he grabs onto your shoulders for support, gasping loudly. He ended up accidentally pushing my back against the railing of the rink. To others it looks like he's just giving me a hug, but he's really trying not to fall again.
"Ah! Miles!" You instinctively grab onto him as you hold him up and you can't help but to giggle. Miles sighs, looking off to the side but it's obvious that he's enjoying how close he gets to be to you.
"You're so bad at this! You almost took us both down!" You exclaim, scolding him jokingly. He leans in close to you and looks into your eyes as your faces are only a few inches apart now.
"Hey. You know, they say that people fall in love when they accidentally fall on each other?" He teases, trying his best to maintain his balance.
"Who said that?" I ask, raising an eyebrow in suspicion.
"Um, I did..." Miles says nonchalantly with a slight grin on his face, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. You laugh, shaking your head once again at his silliness. But you couldn't help but blush slightly. A smile crept onto his lips as he smirks at you. "Oh? Am I making you nervous?" He asks tauntingly. You clear your throat and shake your head.
"No! I could never get nervous around you. Pft..." You say mockingly, but as you're speaking, your voice cracks a bit.
"Oh, is that so?" The grin on his face grew wider, almost as if he knew you weren't telling the truth about not being nervous. "Well, tell that to the blush on your face." He smirks at you before letting go of your shoulders and skating off, as if he never had any trouble before. You watch him, stunned as he doesn't even look unsteady.
"Were you faking the whole time?!" You shout after him in surprise, skating to catch up with him. He turns to face me as he skates ahead of me, skating backwards now. My jaw drops.
"Me? Fake? Never..." He replies with a smug look. "You know, you're cute when you're shocked."
"Oh don't even- That's not true. You said you couldn't skate!" You deflect, pointing a finger at him. As you catch up to him, he turns back forward, smirking at you.
"Never said that. You just assumed I couldn't because I fell earlier." He points out. "Besides, you're so easy to tease. It was very fun seeing your reaction." Miles chuckles.
"Oh, so now you're calling me easy?" You raise an eyebrow at him, hiding a smile.
"Easy to tease. If you were easy to get, I'd have gotten you a while ago. You're really making me work for it, Y/N." He says slyly, looking at you from the corner of his eye.
"What are you talking about?" I question, rolling my eyes.
"Oh, don't act oblivious now. Since you know everything, I bet you've been playing hard to get and you want me to chase you." He replies confidently.
"Ooh, so you're on to me, now? Hm, I guess you're smarter than I thought." You smirk at him and he seems a bit surprised. "Maybe I do want you to chase me, Miles." You give him a wink and skate ahead again. You had him at a loss for words for a moment, but then he skates after you. You both laugh as he tries to grab you and you dodge him.
As you glide across the ice, you lose your balance. But before you fall, Miles catches you and you two are now inches apart. You both stop in the center of the rink, panting softly. A few seconds pass, but no one makes a move. He looks at you and you look back at him. Then you feel his grip on your waist and he pulls you in a little closer. You can feel his breath on your face. It's as if you are the only two in the rink.
Finally, Miles leans in a little further and kisses you softly on the lips. His lips on yours sends a slight tingle up your spine and you feel your heart beat faster as you kiss him back. His hand moves to the back of your neck and he kisses you deeper, putting more passion behind the kiss.
After a few seconds, he pulls back but he still holds you close. As he moves his head away, he looks at you with a small smile on his face. You gaze at each other, both slightly blushing, but not embarrassed at all. Miles looks as if he's about to say something to you, but he's interrupted by one of the skating rink workers.
"Hey! No stopping in place on the ice! Keep it moving." He tells you both.
"Oh! Right, sorry." Miles says to the man before turning back to you. "Let's get outta here." He suggests, grabbing your hand.
"Yeah, let's go." You respond, as he pulls you to the side of the rink. He looks at you once more before he suddenly kisses your cheek.
"Sorry, couldn't resist." He smiles as he sees you blush again.
"Sure, you couldn't." You roll your eyes, stepping off the ice as Miles follows you.
You both leave the rink and head outside, noticing that the sun has set. The cold air is still a bit chilly on your skin, but it's not too bad. You notice that Miles has gotten you to hold his arm as he walks you home, as if he's not letting you go after the kiss that you two shared.
"So... I guess all that chasing wasn't for nothing then, huh?" Miles raises his eyebrows, smirking at you.
"I guess the chase was worth it. You caught your prize, now what?" You reply playfully, looking up at him. He pulls you a little closer and wraps his arms around you.
"Now, I get to keep it," He says as he kisses you gently on the lips. The world around you blurs as Miles kisses you under the soft glow of the streetlights. The snowflakes gently fall around you, creating a magical atmosphere. It's a moment frozen in time, one that you wish could last forever.
After a while, he breaks the kiss and looks at you. He can't keep his eyes off your face, his smile growing as he holds you in his warm embrace. Suddenly, a gentle breeze causes you both to shiver a bit, but the cold doesn't matter to you. All that matters is that you are there with Miles. The two of you start to walk again, Mile's arm around your shoulder as you walk down the street.

SERIES MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
A blanket of white covered the world, turning everything brighter. The sun reflected off the snow, practically sparkling. You heard the crunch beneath your boots—the sound familiar and inviting. It called to the small fractured piece of joy that still remained in your body; begged you to finally let go and have some fun. Even as the world went to shit, the first snowfall never failed to make you smile.
Your breath collected in the air in front of you. Showing you just how cold it really was. Which only made you smile more—your nose practically numb with the frigid air.
“Fuck,” he muttered, slipping on the heavy gloves that he found in an old shop a few towns back. “It’s too cold.”
You shrugged, taking in a deep breath that burned on its way in. ‘Yeah but…it snowed.”
His eyes narrowed at your overjoyous smile. “It’s a pain in the ass to travel through snow.”
That was true.
Yet you couldn’t find it in yourself to be upset about such a beautiful thing. Snow has always been attuned to joy in your life. The start of fun spent outdoors with your brother. Hot drinks with friends as your university began to set up for the worst. And sure there were the annoyances and hardships that came with this weather. But you had always found that the positives far outweighed the negatives in this case.
Joel couldn’t necessarily say the same. A bitter feeling of grief began to build in his chest—Sarah’s face entering his mind. They spent holidays in the snow. Holed up in the house as they watched a movie—usually a Christmas movie with a predictable script—often inviting Tommy for the night. It was a time he’d give anything to return to.
The weight in his chest pressed down painfully—attempting to drag him down. Back into the darkness he was so used to residing in.
Except something bright broke through its walls. As if sunlight was once again shedding its light over him. Warmth consumed him; offering him hope with a soft press to the agony that splintered him half. Only when he tore himself out his mind did he realize what it was.
The sound of your laughter.
Small flakes began to fall from the sky, catching on his hair and jacket. They stung his face slightly. He couldn’t focus on that though. Not when you were smiling, your bare hands trying to catch each snowflake—your tongue sticking out. For the first time he saw a childlike wonder in your eyes. The cloud of grief he’d grown so accustomed to—now dissipated as you played in the snow.
“Havin’ fun?” he asked as his lips pulled up at one side.
You laughed again and Joel felt a bolt of lightning go through his heart. Even though it was freezing outside, that warmth spilled into his chest, spreading out to the tips of his fingers. He understood what love felt like. How it affected a person, but this…this was more. This was the missing emotion he thought he’d never see again in this lifetime.
“As a matter of fact—I am having fun.”
You stepped closer to him, letting your freezing nose press against the hollow of his throat. He jolted, eliciting another small giggle from your lips. But he refused to move. Simply shifting slightly to open his jacket in order to pull you closer until his body heat seeped into yours. He wrapped his arms around you, tugging you until your feet were pressed between his.
“Gonna get sick,” he muttered under his breath.
A puff of cold breath left you, caressing against his skin and sending a shiver down his spine. “C’mon Joel, it’s fun.”
“Boston—”
“Don’t you remember fun?”
He stiffened, hands frozen on your back. Only this time you didn’t immediately apologize for possibly saying the wrong thing. You remained silent. Gave him a chance to process the pain that was no doubt overtaking his body, a grief you would never be able to understand. Each of you carried your own demons—dragged down by the weight of them daily, and only for a brief moment did you see him allow them to lift.
“I do,” he replied, his voice thick with torment.
You shut your eyes, ran your hands up his back and let out a breath. “Tell me about it.”
Tell me about your past. Tell me about her.
Joel rarely mentioned anything when it came to his past. That continued to be a locked door you held no key to and you accepted that. You took what you could with him. But standing there in the middle of a snowy serene winter, you finally wanted to see each broken part he hid from you. You wanted to watch the sunlight glint off them like glass and catch their beauty in the palm of your hands.
You wanted to know him.
“We’d celebrate Christmas,” he said softly, lips pressed to your hair. “Nothin’ fancy. Nothin’ big. But we’d get a tree.”
He never told you who Sarah was to him, never revealed what happened to her. You were just happy to finally hear about something joyous in his life. That once upon a time…he might have smiled. Hell he might have even laughed often. You could tell by the lines around his eyes, proof that this man had experienced more than just this.
“In Texas?” you pressed, face peeking up to see his gaze already on you.
He nodded. “My brother usually joined us.”
Surprise lingered in your body, but you pushed past it. “You never told me you had a brother.”
And there it was, that small hint of a smile showing through the heartbreak on his face. “Yeah…Tommy.”
You tried to conjure up a picture of the other Miller. Did he have brown eyes like Joel? Was he older or younger? Was he still alive? Something told you with the way Joel reacted simply by saying the man’s name, that he remained okay. That somewhere on this Earth he was alive. You wanted to ask more, see if he’d let you in on a life you were never meant to be a part of. But pressing Joel to do anything—especially talking about his past—was not something that would go over easily.
“Did you play in the snow?” you asked, a smirk pulled at your lips.
He sighed, glancing up at the sky, a soft red stain flushing across his face. “We did.”
“I knew it.”
“Shut up,” he mumbled, fingers pinching at your hip. Only to feel his heart flutter at the echo of your laugh being pressed to his chest.
He swore his heart responded to the sound, twisting in a way that he didn’t know was possible. It wasn’t wracked with pain, it wasn't threatening to drown him beneath his grief. It simply just existed.
Perhaps that’s what he could do for this one moment.
Stand in the snow as a man, holding a woman he loved, and exist.
“Hey Texas.”
He ran a soothing hand up your back, fingers lightly tracing the hem of your jacket. “Hm?”
“Will you play in the snow with me?”
Something lit up his eyes, the brown suddenly a lighter gold that struck a chord in your heart. He played you like a fucking guitar and with that one look, you’d let him. Joel took a breath, mouth parting, and did the one thing you longed to see. He smiled. Nothing small or minor, but a full blown smile that made your heartbeat cease to exist. For the first time…he looked happy. As if the man from before had shoved his way forward to finally give you a proper look at who he once was.
At the man he longed to be again.
“Yeah Boston,” he said, leaning forward to brush his lips against yours. “I will.”
A laugh escaped your mouth when he shoved you back lightly, hands reaching for the freshly fallen snow on the ground. You did the same. Digging your fingers into the freezing icy ground, pulling up a small amount to make a ball. Only for Joel to throw one at you, hitting you square in the shoulder.
“I wasn’t ready!”
He chuckled, heading for you. “Move faster.”
“Ironic you’re telling me that.” He stuttered, eyes flashing dark at the memory of having you the day before, but that faded with another grin. One that taunted you with something more.
A promise of a life that could be.
His arm wrapped around your waist, the snow falling from your hands as he hauled you backwards. A yelp escaped your mouth when he fell, your body landing on top of his—snow sticking to his hair and yours. The sun still burned bright in the sky, flakes continued to rain down around you, but for this one single moment…you existed in a space that felt good.
That felt normal.
“We’ll have a tree,” you said softly, rolling over to lay beside him.
He turned to look at you, eyes tender. “A tree huh?”
You nodded. “One day.”
“Okay,” he murmured, hand cupping your cheek. “We’ll have a tree.”

Warm-Up (Vergil x Male!Reader)
Tumblr media
Bonus pic I pulled off Pinterest for ya cuz y'all deserve it 💜
You shivered in your seat, goosebumps breaking out across your skin. A blizzard raged on outside, rattling the walls of your house and, via several drafts in said walls, lowered the overall temperature to lows your poor human body couldn't handle. You continued shuddering, wrapping your arms around yourself in an attempt to keep warm, futile as it was. You were just so cold, for an indescribable reason, no matter how many layers of clothes you threw on or how many blankets you piled on, you were freezing. It was like you were cursed, cursed to be eternally chilly.
The front door clicked, then swung open; Vergil stomped in, covered in snow. "Y/N?" He called, peeking around the corner and finding you curled up on the couch, swaddled in blankets and thick clothes. "What is going on?" He demanded, raising a thin white eyebrow at you. "I'm cold." You grumbled, tugging the blankets tighter around you as another strong wind shook the house and chilled the room even further. "Cold?" Vergil repeated, confused. He had never felt cold in his life, being an ice demon and whatnot. Nonchalantly, he stalked away to remove the snow from his person and change into dry clothes. A few moments later, he rejoined you in the living room, only to find a pile of blankets where you once had been seated. "Y/N? Where did you go?" A hand--your hand--shot up from within the mountain of bedclothes. "Right here, Verg. Right here, freezing my ass off." Vergil sighed, then began shifting the blankets aside to get to your trembling, nearly numb-with-cold form. "You lack motivation," He stated, shoving the blankets aside, then taking a seat on the couch and rearranging them in his lap. "A mere bit of cold is nothing; such a trivial inconvenience should mean nothing to you." While those words may have sounded harsh and derogatory, they were in fact, meant to be motivating--and they were.
"I...I guess you're right," You admitted, sighing and sitting up. "it shouldn't bother me, but it does." Vergil scoffed, then dragged you by the arm over into his lap. With a grumpy huff that was probably caused by embarrassment for his uncharacteristically soft behavior today, he began to wrap you up like a burrito. Once he was done, he scooped you up and cradled you in his arms like a mother with her baby.
You were confused at first, but soon relaxed into your new blanket cocoon. "Are you warm now?" Vergil asked, after a few moments of silence. Believe it or not, you were. The cocoon, combined with Vergil's furnace-like body heat, did wonders for your own body temperature, warming you up much more efficiently compared to all the other methods you previously tried. "Yes, I am," You murmured, rather enjoying this treatment. "Good. I suppose I can unwrap you now, correct?" You shrugged, not really wanting to leave Vergil's lap. "If you don't mind....a little longer?" Vergil gave you a side-eye that could have withered flowers, but said nothing and made no attempt to move you. You yawned, now that you'd been warmed up, you were starting to feel a little sleepy. "Tired?" He inquired, bouncing his leg so as to rock you easier. "Yeah, a little," You sighed, yawning again. "I'm gonna take a nap...wake me in a few hours, ok?" Vergĺil nodded, pressing a quick kiss to your forehead. "Very well." As you closed your eyes and began to drift off to sleep, you could have sworn you heard him mumble "Sweet dreams, my little lump of coverlets."

The snow fell gently outside as you found yourself seeking refuge in a cozy shelter nestled amidst the wintry landscape. The air was crisp and cold, causing you to shiver as you ventured further. You knocked on the front door, wondering if anyone would be inside. Receiving no response, you took your chance at twisting the handle. Surprisingly, it was open. You were met with darkness, the only light illuminating parts of the area being candles.
Not wanting to be down here any longer, you went up the creaking wooden stairs, your steps muffled by the thick carpet that covered the floor, and roamed through the hallway. There were more candles, thankfully, allowing you to spot another door in the distance. It seemed as if it was almost beckoning you in. You were sure no one occupied this place, but were still wary so you gently pushed the door open once you were close enough. The room was seemingly empty, but it looked so put together.
The room held a certain allure, with its crackling fireplace casting a warm glow that danced across the walls. A plush couch, adorned with a mound of blankets, sat invitingly in front of the fireplace. And there, nestled on the blankets, lay a majestic husky, its eyes gleaming with curiosity.
Your heart swelled with delight at the sight of the adorable canine companion. Unable to resist, you approached the dog with a gentle smile and soft steps, ready to offer a comforting pat. However, just as your hand reached out, a figure emerged from beneath the blankets, startling you momentarily. You let out a surprised yelp and jumped back, quickly slamming your hand over your mouth.
The person looked at you with as much shock as you did with them. You didn’t say anything, and instead took the chance to get a good look at the stranger. It was a woman and she looked relatively young. She had brown hair and was dressed in a cozy flannel shirt. Her presence exuded warmth and comfort despite you initially being alarmed.
She tilted her head at your lack of vocalness, seemingly waiting for you to introduce yourself. Once you came back to your senses, you removed your hand from your mouth and apologized. “I’m so sorry for intruding! I’m Y/N..” You sent an apologetic smile her way, still keeping your distance.
Recovering from her initial shock, the beautiful stranger smiled reassuringly. “Yunjin.” She spoke as she held her hand out, her voice filled with a mixture of surprise and delight. You quickly shuffling over to shake it, not wanting to leave her hanging. Your fingers intertwined briefly, creating an instant connection that seemed to bridge the gap between your worlds. The room suddenly felt cozier, as if the presence of another soul had breathed life into its walls.
“Your room is so pretty.” You complimented as you observed your surroundings, truly taking everything in. You couldn't help but be captivated by the tranquility it exuded. The crackling fire emitted a gentle warmth, casting a comforting ambiance in the room. The soft glow accentuated the beauty of their surroundings, illuminating the rustic charm of the wooden furniture and the intricate tapestries adorning the walls.
She followed your gaze, feeling proud at your statement. The brunette took pride in the way she handled herself and everything around her. “Thank you. I decorated it myself!” The look of astonishment never left your face, causing her to chuckle.
“Would you like to join me under the blankets?” She suggested, her voice gentle and kind. Your cheeks flushed slightly, but you couldn't resist the allure of sharing warmth with Yunjin. With a nod, you accepted the offer, sliding under the blankets beside her. As you sank into the softness of the blankets, a shared warmth enveloped you, cocooning you in a sanctuary of comfort. The husky snuggled closer, sensing the newfound bond between its owner and this new guest.
Wrapped in the cozy embrace of the blankets, you both found solace in each other's presence. The crackling fire and the soft sounds of the winter wind outside created a tranquil ambiance, fostering an atmosphere of intimacy and comfort.
You couldn’t resist the adorable puppy and took the chance to pet it. It leaned into your touch, immediately bringing a smile to your face. You scratched behind its ear and watched its tail go into overdrive. “His name is Ace.” Yunjin suddenly spoke up, causing his ears to perk up at the mention of his name. “Ace..” You repeated to yourself as you looked at him, watching as he got up and sat on top of your covered lap. He wasn’t the biggest but he was big enough to make you huff when he plopped down, causing Yunjin to giggle at your reaction.
“You’re such a good boy, Ace!” You used both of your hands to scratch him from his head to the rest of body, his tail wagging wildly and his tongue hanging out of his mouth as he panted joyfully. It must’ve been nice to have a new person around, especially after being with his owner for so long. The brunette smiled fondly at you as she observed the interaction.
As all three of you winded down, more so Ace considering it didn’t take long for him to fall asleep, you couldn't help but steal glances at Yunjin, taking in the warmth of her smile and the way her eyes sparkled in the gentle flicker of the firelight. The silence was comfortable, though you wanted to know more about this stranger.
“So, how long have you lived here?” You asked, pulling her attention away from her sleeping puppy. She pondered about it before speaking, “A few months now. It’s my little refuge from the outside world.” You nodded understandably as you listened. You wish you could have a place to come back to when you didn’t feel like dealing with the public.
“Do you ever feel lonely, even with this cutie?” You petted Ace’s head, letting out a soft laugh at his ear twitch even in his sleep. Yunjin gazed at her loyal companion with a loving smile. “Well, he’s the best company. But sometimes, in the quiet moments, I do feel a tinge of loneliness.” She admitted, a sad smile plastered on her face. She isn’t as social as she once was, and it wasn’t a bad thing but she’s still human and humans need social interactions.
“Well, for the time being, I’m here.” You placed your hand on top of hers, squeezing it reassuringly. The action revealed a genuine smile from the brunette, and you couldn’t help but smile at the sight of hers. It was contagious, really. She already loved having you as company and a part of her wanted you to just stay with her. She already grew fond of you within this short period of time and vice versa. Despite just meeting her, it felt like she was someone you’ve know forever. Everything about her brought you at ease, whether it be her voice or how she acted.
Inside the sheltered haven, time seemed to stand still as you and Yunjin reveled in the peacefulness and the company you found in one another. You discovered common interests, shared dreams, and vulnerabilities the more you spoke to each other, forging a bond that transcended the wintry landscape outside.
Your connection blossomed like a winter flower, delicate yet resilient, as you embraced the softness of your shared moments. And as the snowflakes continued to dance outside, your hearts danced in harmony, savoring the enchantment of a winter's tale that had only just begun.
Yunjin's laughter filled the air as you took turns cracking jokes about yourselves and reminiscing about embarrassing moments. It was a melodic symphony that resonated deep within your heart.
“What brought you here?” The latter questioned as she rested her head on her pillow, her head turned to face you. “I just wanted to get away.” She hummed in acknowledgment, understanding where you were coming from even without further explanation. “Well, I’m glad you ended up here out of all places.” Yunjin humored, evoking a chuckle out of you.
In the midst of your conversation, you found yourself growing tired and inching closer to the girl. As she was speaking, you rested your head gently against her shoulder. “Tired?” She asked, to which you hummed as you closed your eyes. Yunjin responded by wrapping her arm around them, offering a silent reassurance. It was in these quiet moments that you felt the safest you’ve felt in awhile, and the world outside ceased to exist.
The gentle rhythm of Yunjin's breathing and the soothing sound of her voice lulled you into a state of peace. Your eyes grew heavy, and eventually, the exhaustion took over, causing you to drift off to sleep. Due to your lack of response, Yunjin looked down at you, sending that you had fallen into a peaceful slumber and couldn't help but smile. She adjusted her position slightly, ensuring you were well-supported and comfortable against her side.
As time passed, Yunjin's arm, which was still wrapped around, began to tingle and lose sensation. Though, she didn't mind and bared with the slight discomfort. She was content and was cherishing the closeness she shared with you for the time being, not wanting to disturb your much needed sleep.
However, as the night wore on, Yunjin herself grew tired. Despite her best efforts to stay awake, exhaustion finally caught up with her. She carefully leaned back, shifting her arm from beneath you, hoping not to wake you. You stirred slightly, instinctively seeking the warmth and comfort that had been surrounding you. Your arms wrapped around Yunjin’s abdomen, causing her to freeze. There was no escaping now, and that made her feel strangely at ease. She made a move to adjust herself again, earning a mumble from you in your sleep. Not wanting to take a chance at interrupting your rest, she settled and played with your hair until she felt herself slowly dozing off.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long for her to fall asleep as well, enjoying the warmth you provided on top of the heat from the fireplace. She didn’t want this to end and hoped that when she woke up, you would still be here.
Unbeknownst to her, you didn’t plan on leaving.

heather weather
"i can't believe this is actually happening...i was not expecting this to happen to me," you say sitting outside in the rain. you just caught your boyfriend cheating on you. You came to one of his games without him knowing, just to surprise him after the game. just to see another girl run up to him and kiss him at the end. so you left.
waiting outside in the rain to collect your thoughts, you had no ride, it was pouring rain, and you just caught your boyfriend cheating on you. just your luck. so you decide to sit on a bench while crying your eyes out.
"hey, are you okay?'
you jolt your head up, looking up at the person who just spoke to you. "oh yeah, im fine." you reply back to the stranger. "you sure? cause it doesn't look like you are," he says. "yeah im actually fine, i just have allergies." "its december?"
later that night you ended up safe at home, luckily to your knight and shining armor who rescued you. you guys ended up exchanging numbers, been out on a few dates then, have been together ever since. but...something just isn't sitting quite right with you. you've been getting this gut feeling but have been putting it off, cause you don't want to stir up anything between you two.
then all of a sudden everything starts crashing down on you...
i still remember, third of december
me in your sweater
you see him standing outside leaning on a tree, expecting he was waiting for you. so you start to walk towards him, until you see a girl go up to him, wrapping her arms around his neck, and giving him a kiss on the cheek. you then look down at what she's wearing, and it just so happens to be the same sweater he gave you. on the third of december..
you said it looked better on me than it did you
only if you knew
how much i liked you
you vividly remember when you to when out for a walk together, just talking to each other. then you felt a breeze, and you wrapped your arms around yourself to try and keep from the cold. you didn't even know why you wore what you did, you knew you should've brought your jacket or something. and before you can even think you are wrapped up in a sweater...his sweater to be exact. so you start to take it off, "i'm fine, i don't need this." he pulls your arms through the sweater so your actually wearing it. "i think you need it more than i do, plus it looks better on you."
that's when you knew, how much you liked him...
but i watch your eyes as she walks by
what a sight for sore eyes
brighter than a blue sky
now every time you looked at him all you could think about was the way he looked at her, he never looked at you like that. but you can't blame him, she is pretty. she is the beauty standard, blonde hair, blue eyes, short, nice body, what more could a guy really want. but you, you weren't even close, with your dark hair, dark eyes, tall, decently pretty, and the only thing that you could one up her on, was your academics, but no one cares about those right?
she's got you mesmerized
while i die
you knew she has him wrapped around her finger, you would practically see them everywhere together, him looking at her like a lost puppy. and you couldn't help to think that, you two were never like that. what was really so different from her that he likes so much. it was living hell, you were practically dying at this point.
why would you ever kiss me
im not even half as pretty
`you remember the first time you guys kissed. it was special, it was snowing, and you guys were under a light. it was purely out of a movie, that kiss. but now when you see them kiss, you really wonder if it meant anything to him, why would he ever bother kissing you, it's not like he wouldn't think you are better anyway, he would say that you aren't even half as pretty as her.
you gave her your sweater
its just polyester
but you still can't believe he gave her that sweater. the same fucking one he gave to you. so it clearly didn't mean anything to him, it never mattered. you can't believe how much a piece of fabric, a piece of fucking polyester makes you so emotional, but you can't help it. he gave her, his sweater..
but you like her better
you didn't even know where to go, or what to do after this, but you knew for certain that you couldn't deal with this, he will always like her better, no matter who it is they will always like her better. you've always said third time the charm but at this point, what's the use. they are always going to end up thinking they found someone better anyway, and then you're stuck in the dump again.
"wish i were heather..."
or... what if you could be even better...?

warm you up ㅡ park gunwook (requested)
park gunwook x gn!reader
genre : fluff
warnings : none !! i'm sorry i took so long with your ask dear anon :(( hope you'll like it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
gunwook was close to cry when he saw you this morning in your big puffer. you looked so cute, trying to disappear in it to protect yourself from the cold.
but as much as he find it endearing, he could see you were really, really cold.
you hated winter. well, no, you loved looking at the snow by the window, being wrapped up in a plaid with a hot chocolate and a christmas movie for background noise. but as soon as you stepped outside, you just wished you were back to the warmer days.
school was hell. you were pretty sure the whole academic system was made to cause your downfall, because why the fuck would they send you on a school trip during winter? and it wasn't some school trips where you could spend the day indoors, no, they sent guys to the fucking mountains to go hiking.
if you hated winter (the season ‼️😟), gunwook will hate it as well. even as a friend, he's kind of a protective person and he likes to help his dear ones in whatever situation. now you were feeling cold, and it was not just because you were overly sensitive to this weather, it was in fact VERY cold. oh, how he wished he could just take you somewhere and hug you to warm you up. but he couldn't just leave the rest of the class with you to take you somewhere hot. plus, he was way too shy to hold you in his arms.
throughout the day, gunwook tried to warm you up subtly. it was just small little things, and you didn't even realize his attentions earlier. at first, he was clumsy as he didn't know what to do. he stole your phone to make you run and feel warmer... yeah, you weren't very happy about it. then, he made sure when you walked that you were always on a spot where the sunlight was hitting, so you could be where it's hotter. but gunwook figured out it wasn't enough at all.
"y/n, what do you think about my gloves?"
"hum... they look good?"
you were taken aback by the sudden and weird question, but you answered anyways. gunwook stretched his arms to you his gloves better.
"you want to try them on?''
"why would i want to try them on-"
"okay, i'm letting you try them only because it's you."
you accepted with frowned eyebrows, confused about his actions, but you let it be only because you had no gloves and you would love to warm up your hands even for seconds. he took off his gloves and insisted on putting them for you, which you let him do. while you were looking at your hands now covered with his black woolen gloves, gunwook also took off his scarf to wrap it around your neck and your head to cover your ears. you looked at him, even more confused.
you didn't have to ask him anything, because he talked before you could.
"i was thinking they would suit you better than me."
"aren't you cold?" you asked a bit worried.
"don't worry, i can handle this kind of weather", he responded, trying to look cool.
"tch, you're bragging" you scoffed.
you looked at his hands that were already getting red from the cold. you sighed : he didn't have to endure the cold for you... you looked back up to him with a smile.
"thank you, gunwook."
and now, the redness of his hands went to his cheeks, because you took his hand in your and put it in your pocket.
"let's go, we have to catch up with the rest of the class."
gunwook let you drag him happily towards the rest of the group, and despite the freezing weather, he couldn't help but feel warm thanks to your hand.

"Snowball Fight!!"
Pjsk boys x fem! reader
Summary: [Character] finds you, his girlfriend, outside his door one cold and snowy winter day. You've got that cute and mischievous grin on your face.... What are you gonna do this time?
This writing contains.... Blunt, cute, 5'0 1/2", energetic, and mischievous reader.... Fluff.... Lots of fluff.... More fluff....
A/N: I think I kinda messed up at Rui's part.... I said snowball fight but his part kind of drifted off track.... I do like it though. Hopefully you guys will too. Tsukasa and Akitos part are the only ones that live up to the name tbh. Super proud of Akito's part.... He's so fun to write doebsuhdoamaodb✨
Tumblr media
Kamishiro Rui:
Just as I'm about to head to my room with the soda candy in hand, a knock sounds at the front door.
Seeing that I am the one nearest to the said door, I decide to open it, and am immediately met with Y/N's adorable facing staring right at me.
"Ah, hello there cutie. What brings you to my doorstep? Couldn't stand being apart from your boyfriend for 24 hours?"
I tease, grinning as I place a hand atop her head.
"Actually, I couldn't."
Your blunt response doesn't surprise me one bit, and only causes me to let out a small chuckle.
"Now come on! Have you seen all this snow that's outside?!"
Before I had a chance to respond, I find myself being dragged by Y/N's small and delicate hand, my grin only expanding further on my face.
"Ah, wait, if we're gonna spend the day outside, let me go get my jacket."
I retrieve my hand from her grasp and quickly run inside to get said jacket.
I come back outside seconds later, only to get pelted in the face by a now crushed snowball.
"Snowball fight!!"
My eyes widen by a centimeter for a split second before a teasing grin curls on my lips.
"Ah, so this is how it's gonna be, hm?"
I then duck down, avoiding another snowball of hers as I start forming and shaping my own.
Once I finish making a few, I stand up and aim at the short cute girl that's giving me that adorable grin.
Whack
My snowball flies, and then lands straight on her head, now making it look like she has a melted scoop of vanilla ice cream drooping on her head.
"Whoops, guess it landed there because you're such a shortie~. Perhaps it would be easier to hit you if you were taller. Ah well. You're lucky you get an advantage."
"I am not short! I'm 5'0 1/2"!"
A chuckle escapes my mouth as my expression shifts to a smug one.
"Sweetie, do you not know the definition of 'short'?"
I walk over to her and pat her head gently.
"It means you aren't tall, or below average. Now if you think 5'0 1/2" is average, then I guess you just haven't learned the height of enough people."
"Most people are around my height!"
"Oh really, like who?"
"Nene is 5'1"! And Emu is..... 4'11"? Yeah!"
I can't help but release another chuckle at her reasoning.
"And you think because two of your friends are around the same height as you, that makes your height the average? Tell me, who else is as short as you?"
"Um.... Well, shizuku.... Hm, no..... Honami.... No..... ichika.... She's not either...."
I take a step closer and place a hand under her chin smugly.
"Just admit it. You're short. It can't be that hard, right? Or maybe your pride is just a bit too big."
After hearing my words, I watch her bend down, shape a lazy snowball, and then throw it smack in the middle of my face.
My smug grin only stretches before taking her cold hands in mine, preventing her from forming another snowball.
"Aw, come on now, don't be such a sore loser, N/N. Why don't you stop what you're doing and giving your boyfriend a kiss?"
I lean forward slightly, the snow from before still masked on my face.
"You're kidding, right? I'm not kissing you with that face."
"Well it's your fault I look like this. You only have yourself to blame. Now, come on. Kiss me, or I'll force you to."
"No! I'm not— mmph!"
I cut her sentence short by placing a sweet kiss to her lips, the smug grin on my face only wider after pulling away.
"Don't be so uncooperative next time, dear. There are consequences you know."
Tumblr media
Tenma Tsukasa:
Knock knock knock
Click
A big smile graces my face as I open the door and am met with my beloved girlfriend.
"Good morning my dear co-star!"
"Good morning Tsukasa!"
Her energetic smile sends the butterflies to my stomach, only causing my own smile to grow just as bright.
"What are you doing here?"
"Did you look outside?"
"Uh... Yeah?"
"Then let's go!"
She then grabs my hand tightly and leads me to an open space, not even giving me a chance to react
"W-Woah! Slow down!"
I shout as she almost causes me to fall, her lack of height and her grip on my hand causing me to tilt forward.
"Wh-What are you doing?"
I ask curiously as I watch her bend down and do something with the snow, her back turned to me.
"Snowball fight!!"
It takes me a second to process her words, and a second for me to get hit to right on my chest, just about where the top of her head is.
"H-Huh?! Why did you—! S-Snowball fight?"
"Yes! Surely you know what a snowball fight is, Tsukasa."
"I... Of course I do!"
"Then come on!"
She speaks before kneeling down again to make a few snowballs.
"Fight me!"
She then throws another snowball; it landing on my shoulder this time.
"Alright! If you insist! But be prepared, this star is an expert at snowball fights! You may end up covered in snow on every inch of your body once we have finished!"
"Hehe, bring it on!"
She's got that cute smirk and a handful of snowballs. What more could fire me up?
A snowball landing straight under my neck.
That's what fired me up more.
Oooh, that's cold.
"Alright, here it comes!"
I see her open her mouth to respond, but doesn't get the chance to speak as I launch a snow ball right into her mouth and slightly on her cheeks.
"O-Oops! My dear co-star are you okay?!?"
I rush over to her as she spits out the snow.
"Ptooh! Ptooh! Eulgh.."
"You know, snow is just water, so it's not really that bad."
"That's like telling me it's okay to drink rain water, Tsukasa!"
She says before immediately throwing a snowball on my nose as payback.
"H-Hey!"
Her cute giggle rings through my ears before take I hold of another snowball and hurl it at her. Unfortunately, she dodges the attack and bends down to get a snowball of her own.
The two of us laughed, chased each other, and played until the time for nighttime had arrived.
Being the good boyfriend I am, I walked her home; all the way to her doorstep before she turned around to face me.
"I had so much fun, Tsukasa! We should play again soon!"
I placed a hand on her shoulder before agreeing with her.
"Indeed! We should definitely play together again! Now go and get a good night's rest, okay?"
I spoke before leaning into give her a brief goodnight kiss on her lips.
"Good night, my dear Y/N!"
Tumblr media
Aoyagi Toya:
Ah, it's such a lovely winter day, and the snow really makes it complete— Hm? Is that Y/N at my front door? What's she doing at my house? Is she looking for me?
"Hey, Y/N."
I walk up to her from behind and gently place a hand on her shoulder.
"Is there a reason you're standing on my doorstep?"
She quickly turns around after feeling my touch, a bright smile plastered across her face.
"Toya!"
I feel my heart melt as she pulls me into one of her warm hugs, her touch alone brightening my day.
"Good morning! I came here to see you! Do you wanna play in the snow?"
Patting her head softly, I look down at her fondly as I sway her bangs slightly before placing a kiss on her forehead.
"I'd love to play in the snow with you, if that's what you want."
"Great!"
She then grips my hand before leading me off the doorstep and onto the snow a few feet away.
"So, what snow activities do you have planned?"
I ask with a small smile as I watch Y/N crouch down and take some snow in her hands, slightly confused.
"Snowball fight!"
I stand stunned for a few seconds as she throws a snowball at my forehead, the cold and fuzzy water sending shivers down my spine.
"H... Hm?"
"You heard right! Snowball fight!"
"Ah, my apologies, but I am not very experienced in the area of snowball fights. Perhaps we could try something else?"
"Nononono, you're gonna learn how to play, and I'm teaching you."
"I... You are?"
"Yes. It's very simple."
She then takes my hands and plops some snow into them.
"All you have to do is shape some snow into a decent sized ball...."
She does just that, but with my hands instead of her own. I watch her intently, taking mental notes of her every word and hand movements.
"Now, all you have left to do is throw it!"
Leaving the round ball of snow in my hands, she steps a few feet away.
"Go ahead! Throw it!"
"... Alright."
As requested, I throw the snowball towards her. I aim for her head, but end up throwing the white fuzzy snow almost a foot above her head.
....
"Ah, I'm not really good at this stuff."
"Th-That's alright! Everyone has to start somewhere, right?"
She walks over to me, a determined smile curled on her lips.
"How about I teach you how to throw? See, now, if you want to throw downwards..."
As she speaks, she takes my arm and pulls it backwards slightly, tilting the second half of my arm upwards.
".... You get into that position! Now if you want to throw it, then you just move it forward, then release it with a good amount of force!"
She hops away as she speaks to me.
"Now try it again!"
"Okay."
I follow her instructions and give it another go, the ball landing on her forehead this time.
"Oh— Y/N, are you alright? Maybe I shouldn't have done that."
I rush in front of her and brush the snow off of her face gently.
"I'm fine I'm fine Toya. It's just snow."
"If you are certain. But, I'd rather not continue and risk hurting you. I do appreciate you teaching me how to throw, though."
I place a hand on her cheek and lean down to kiss her sweetly; it's a small 'reward' for her effort.
"Now, let's go get some hot coco."
Tumblr media
Shinonome Akito:
"Hm.... If move this sound over here and take this sound out.... No, I should probably..."
"Akito."
Ena barges into my room, without permission like usual, leaving me pissed.
"Ena, I am not going to run one of your errands again, I'm in the middle of something right—"
"Your girlfriend's at the door."
....
That seems to shut me up as I let out a sigh, placing my headphones aside.
I soon arrive at the front door, wondering what she wants.
"Hey, Y/N, you—"
My sentence stops midway due to the freezing snow that was thrown at the middle of my face.
I wipe the snow off and glare at the culprit.
"... Sorry, my hand slipped."
She then sprints off into the snow with me tagging close behind.
Having approached some of the wet snow, I crouch down and start shaping the snow into a round and spherical shape.
"You asked for it!"
I shouted slightly as I hurled the ball at her, aiming for her neck but end up getting the top of her head due to her ducking.
"Snowball fight!!"
She shouts back before throwing a snowball of her own, landing it straight on my chest.
Ooooh..... That hit hard... Guess I'll just have to hit harder!
As an act of revenge, I throw one of my many snowballs towards the same spot: her chest.
She was a bit busy managing her underwhelming pile of snowballs that she was a bit too late to duck...
Bull's eye!
I laugh victoriously at the short girl, a wide smirk plastered on my face.
After seeing my big accomplishment, she starts hurling all of her snowballs at me, one after another. Most of her snowballs hit me and turned me into a living and breathing snowman. What really hits hard though is when she throws the snowball in my eyes.
Painfully, I back away slightly, rubbing my eyes immensely as I hear her approaching.
"Oh no! Did it get in your eyes? Are you okay?"
She sounds worried.
Good.
"Gotchya!"
I smirk before wrapping my arms around her in a death grip, tickling her non stop.
"No! Lemme go lemme go lemme go!"
"Shut up or I'll..."
I decide to leave my sentence unfinished for now, before diving in to plant a teasing kiss on her lips, slightly flustering myself in the process.
"Or I'll kiss you."

baby, it's cold outside
Tumblr media
my requests are open, if you want me to write something, feel free :))
pairing : violet x gn!reader summary : based on the song Baby it’s cold outside, when spending an evening at vi's place, the night turns cold and snowy, and she convinces you to spend the night word count : 931 warnings : none
"I really can't stay," you insist, looking down at the mug of steaming hot chocolate in your hands. Violet looks over from where she stood in the kitchen, grabbing a few cookies out of a jar and popping one in her mouth. You remember those cookies, you had made them together some time last week while listening to Christmas songs. Memories of spilled milk, clouds of flour and sugary kisses flooded your mind as she trudged back to where you were sitting on her couch. "But, baby, it's cold outside," Vi spoke. And it was true. By the time you'd arrived to her place, your cheeks and nose were red from the frosty weather. You suspected it would start snowing any minute now. You winced, clutching your hot chocolate tighter to your chest. "It's just that my mother will start to worry," "Didn't you tell her that you were spending the evening here ?" Vi asked, grabbing a blanket from a cupboard. "Yeah, the evening, not night," Your eyes trailed over her figure as she sat down on the couch next to you. She laid the blanket over both your legs, her hand lingering on your thigh for a second.
"Mind if I move in closer ?" she asked, leaning towards you. You playfully rolled your eyes. "I do, actually," you grinned. "Too bad," she scoffed and moved closer to you anyway, leaning against your side. You laid your legs across her lap, lazily grinning up at her. She rested her hands on your thighs, leaning her shoulder against yours. "Okay, I'll finish my drink and then I've got to get home, alright ?" You felt like you were reasoning with a child. Vi pretended to think and shook her head. "Baby, you'll freeze out there," She picked up her own hot chocolate and brought it to her lips, taking a long sip. You thought back to your mother waiting for you at your apartment. She knew Vi and that she wouldn't let anything happen to you, so would she really worry that much ? It definitely wasn't the first time that you'd spent the night at her place.
You both put your focus on the TV screen as you decided on what to watch. You finally made up your minds on a cooking show (you both loved watching people's cakes and desserts fall apart). You gasped as a contestant dropped the cake he was supposed to present before the judges and fell to his knees next to the remains. "Oh my god," You clasped a hand over your mouth, holding back a giggle. "Okay, so I like, totally feel bad for him, right ? But also- that was kind of..." "Hilarious ?" you suggested, raising your eyebrows. Violet let out a laugh and nodded. "Yeah," she chuckled, gently squeezing your thigh, "exactly."
Before you knew it, the show had ended and it was dark out. You sighed, looking down at your empty cup and at your forgotten jacket in the entrance. It hadn't been snowing when you'd made your way over, which is why you hadn't brought you winter coat. "I've got to get home now, love," you spoke sadly. Violet looked at you with wide eyes before gesturing wildly to the window again. "Baby, look out the window at that storm," she tried to reason. "It's up to your knees out there !" she cried, "And all you've got is a leather jacket !" She was right, of course, it was snowing so hard you couldn't even see the street below. You could even hear the whistle of the wind due to the building's poor isolation. "I'll be quick, I promise. I don't even live that far, you know." You didn't even believe yourself as you spoke. You didn't move from your position on the couch, either, which didn't help your cause. "And what if your caught pneumonia and died ? How would your mother feel about me then ? Letting her unconscious daughter go out in such weather !" she exclaimed. You laughed at her antics. "You're so dramatic, Vi," "Oh, come on, don't pretend like you don't want to spend the night, Y/N," She looked at you with a knowing look in her eye, a strand of pink hair falling in front of her nose. You brushed it away and tucked it behind her ear, tenderly looking into her eyes. She leaned forward and kissed your lips. You closed your eyes, cupping her jaw as she cradled the side of your face. She pulled away, licking her lips and smiling when she tasted you. "We can cook, watch a movie, have those cookies we made for desser, take a a bath and, y'know, have sex," she wiggled her eyebrows at you. You sucked your teeth, looking down at the empty cup in your lap. "I'll make you breakfast tomorrow morning if you stay," she added, trying unsuccessfully to hold back a victorious smirk. She knew she'd won when you groaned and threw your head back. "Okay, fine, just another drink, then,"
Another drink turned into two, then three, dinner, dessert and soon enough it was too late to go home. "You're very pushy you know ?" You bit back a smile as she pulled you towards the bedroom, eyes dancing with mirth. "I like to think of it as opportunistic, actually," She pecked your cheek. She turned away from you to head into the bathroom. You heard the bath start to run and smiled. "Babe, are you coming ?"
Suddenly, you felt thankful for the cold weather outside.

nice story but can you make dark cacao vs affogato x male affogato's priest reader but in original universe like reader meet affogato again outside kingdom during mission
also add against and injured ( not too much )
AN: So, I kinda forgot a lot of the crk kingdom lore, but I think I got this! Been procrastinating on this one, sorry. In Affogato's wiki, it says that after his banishment, he practiced magic and stuff, so I mentioned that in the story. Um, and I tried to find out where he went after the banishment, but I couldn't find anything so I'm just assuming he's just in a small camp or set. Idk man. If things aren't right in this, please just lmk and I can make some edits or maybe just another story. I SWEAR IM TRYING. Also I'm calling reader the prince since him and Dark Cacao are dating
Tumblr media
Dark Cacao vs Affogato x Male! Affogato Priest's Reader
Oneshot
Warnings: Mild Injury, not proof read
-Unpleasant-
A radiant, pure, and glistening snow. It covered the ground, and trees... everything. A beautiful sight to behold, and luckily for you, you were experiencing the light snowfall firsthand!
You were recently sent out on a mission to survey a certain area in the woods. Nothing too difficult. In fact, it was very simple. Survey, collect data, and then return to the kingdom, and with the light snowfall, it should have been that hard.
Well, the snow used to be light. You don't know what caused such a sudden change, but it was now practically a blizzard. If you didn't retreat to somewhere more warm, you were going to freeze to death!
The only problem is... where would you go? Everything was all forest as far as the eyes could see.
"Feeling cold doll? Looks like you could use some help.." said a voice. You couldn't see who it was through all of the snow, but... you couldn't shake the feeling that you knew them.
"Oh, yeah! Is there anywhere we can go get out of the blizzard..?"
You could hear a subtle chuckle.
"Of course there is." A bright light would flash and you were now in a completely different area.
A nice, warm, and cozy cabin. A fireplace was lit in the corner, but.... you could also now see them.
"Affogato Cookie?" You'd shout in bewilderment as you took a step back.
"Yes. Did you miss me~?" He'd take a step closer to you and take hold of your chin, forcing you to look at him.
Immediately, you swatted away his hand and sent him a glare.
"Do not touch me," you would hiss.
"Ahaha, you've still got that vicious personality, I see! But... this is no way to treat the person who has just saved your life, is it?"
He stared at you with those cold and uncaring eyes, still weilding that sly smile he always had all those months ago.
"Fine then. Thank you for saving me," you would say half-heartedly. You were grateful, just a bit on edge since it was Affogato who had saved you.
"So doll, how have you been? Is the king doing well?" He would ask. You only nod your head.
"How... unpleasant."
Affogato would swirl around his staff, and a pain would shoot through your body.
You knew exactly what this was. It was the poison he would use on his enemies... but he's improved.
"Ah, I've missed you're charming little expressions! This is why you've always been my favorite little doll~" He would pinch your cheeks while giving you that taunting smile.
"It hurts, doesn't it? I can make it stop," said Affogato Cookie.
"Then stop it," you would say with a glare.
"Of course! Under one condition though. You have to bring me to meet Dark Cacao Cookie. This is something you can do... yes?"
Oh. He was planning something for sure, but... all you could think about was the venom running through your blood.
"Fine! Just cut it out already."
He'd flick his staff once more, and the pain would lessen. Of course, poison cannot be cured so easily.
"The burning sensation will only last for a little while. Anyway, I'm glad we could come to an agreement! Now then, shall we head there now?"
That scowl never left your face, but you would nod your head all the same. It's not like you could take Affogato in a fight anyway.

As Affogato and you walked into the gates of the kingdom, some guards would immediately ready their weapons.
"Prince, what is that traitor doing with you?!" They would ask in a panic.
You took a look at Affogato, who had never looked so calm and collected before.
"Stand down. I'm bringing him to the king," You'd order. Afgogato would chuckle before giving a viscious side eye towards the guards.
They looked shocked, but ultimately followed your lead since going against you was like going against the king himself.
"Yes sir." They said with a bow.
You started walking towards the castle, getting scared looks from the normal citizens.
The dizziness from before has also yet to fade.
"This kingdom looks the same as last time.. though, you are looking as darling as ever," Affogato would say with a grin.
"I don't want to hear it from you."
Affogato only hums, not bothering to push much farther.
It did not take long before you had reached the king's chambers.
Dark Cacao noticed Affogago instantly.
"What is he doing here?" Dark Cacao would ask with a booming voice. His blade was already at the ready.
"Ah ah ah, I wouldn't be so hasty to attack. You're little lover here might get hurt,"
Affogato would snicker before waving his staff, and that dark bubble would come back to consume you.
"You-" Dark Cacao would grit his teeth while glaring daggers into Affogato.
"Hand over the kingdom, and I'll stop the curse on him."
Dark Cacao's eyes darkened, and in an instant, he'd dash over to Affogato and strike him.
The blade would barely graze Affogato's shoulder, but it still drew blood. In a panic, Affogato would fall to the ground and start backing away.
"Ah, this isn't how the plan was supposed to turn out-"
Dark Cacao pointed the Swords edge at his neck.
"Stop the spell and leave. Next time you come here, I won't hesitate to take your life," said Dark Cacao.
He laughed nervously before swiftly undoing the curse. He flicked the staff once more again and teleported to who knows where.
Dark Cacao rushed to your side quickly.
"Are you alright?" He'd ask, holding you up.
"Yeah..." you began to cough a bit before looking at him with weary eyes.
"Here, let's get you some rest..."

I love snow days but the last several winters have been mild where I live so we mostly just get freezing rain. For the Americans out there, -15°C equals 5°F.
@owl-bones
First Day, Previous Day, & Next Day.
Bad Sansuary: Dust - Rival
Word Count: 1,947
The weather was awful outside. Like minus fifteen and billowing snow that made walking, let alone driving, quite dangerous. So you'd done the smart thing and elected to stay home from work. Thankfully, your coworkers had apparently all made the same decision, so no one would be judging you when you did go in next.
So now, you were currently sitting by your window with your thickest blanket and a half finished mug of hot chocolate. You liked watching the snow fall outside and completely cover everything in a white blanket. You also liked knowing that you were nice and cozy inside rather than out in the freezing cold.
Then you heard one of your floorboards creak, like someone had stepped on it. You glanced sharply in the direction of the sound to see who or what had caused it.
You immediately made eye contact with none other than Dust, standing in the middle of your living room with his hands in his hoodie pockets.
"hi..."
"Hi."
He stared at you for a moment and shifted his weight from one foot to the other. While you could tell he was tired today by the dark circles underneath his sockets, he didn't seem nearly as bad as some of the other times.
"so, uh, what's up?" he asked quietly as he walked over to the window.
You shrugged and took a sip of your hot chocolate. "Not much really, I'm just watching the storm and seeing if anyone's stupid enough to be outside in this weather."
"fun..." His tone of voice actually sounded completely serious rather than sarcastic, which for a moment threw you for a loop. He sat down on the floor next to you and leaned his skull against the window panes.
A smile played on your lips and you couldn't resist teasing him a little bit. "So what's the deal today? Colleague driving you up a wall again? Boss working you too hard? Did Axe finally find out you've been secretly hanging out with his best friend?"
His mismatched eyelights flicked to you and he cracked a wry smile. "nah, although the colleague has been as pleasant as ever."
You chuckled and finished up the last of your hot chocolate. "Are you just here to take up space on my couch or something then?"
He glanced over at your couch with an almost wistful look. "that sounds pretty tempting actually..." he muttered.
"You're like a stray cat or something with how often you hang out here now."
He gave you a weird look but didn't deny it. "your place is quiet and comfy..."
You hauled yourself to your feet and wrapped the blanket tighter around your shoulders. On your way to the kitchen to put your dirty mug in the sink, you called back, "Did you want anything while I'm up?"
"nah, i'm fine..." he answered.
By the time you'd returned to the living room, Dust had predictably made himself at home on your couch. He'd done it so often by now that you swear the cushions practically molded to his body whenever he sat down on them.
"As much fun as laying around and doing nothing all day sounds, I'd rather spend time doing something with you." You tapped your chin thoughtfully before an idea sprang to mind. "How about a board game? Those are always good for stormy days like today."
He briefly raised his head from the couch cushions and you thought there seemed to be a glimmer of curiosity in his eyelights for a moment. He shrugged but didn't make any effort to get up.
"depends on the game..."
You opened the small cabinet where you kept the few board games you owned and some old puzzles that were doomed to be forever unfinished. "I got Uno, a couple decks of playing cards, Chess, Dominoes, Monopoly..."
"you know how to play chess?" he asked suddenly, ignoring every other suggestion.
"Hm? Oh yeah, I was in my high school's chess club a while back."
You figured Chess was probably the best game to play with Dust anyways as it required little effort and wasn't generally a chaotic game. Now that you thought about it though, he kind of seemed like a very particular type of person. He liked his coffee black with nothing added, he didn't crack jokes at the drop of a hat, and he apparently liked Chess.
You ended up hauling the coffee table a bit closer to the couch so that both of you could be comfy while playing. Dust chose to be the black pieces which left you with the white ones, not that you minded as it meant you would go first.
He seemed a little unsure of where some of the pieces went, but soon figured it out without needing to ask. You couldn't help but notice how purposefully he set up his pieces and he'd even sat up straighter to do so. His hood and gloves stayed on though, which at this point, you would've been weirded out if he took them off for any reason.
"Have you ever played before?" you asked before the game actually started. While you figured he had at least some knowledge of the game, you didn't want to assume how much he actually knew.
He made a so-so motion with his hand before answering in an off-handed kind of way. "yeah, a couple of times, it's been a while though..."
"Same actually," you hummed. "May the best mind win..."
The game proceeded fairly quickly at first. You were playing carefully to try and get a read on his skill level, while Dust just sort of randomly moved his pieces around the board wherever he felt like. It was a bit confusing as you got the impression he wasn't actually trying, especially when he'd make a pretty obvious mistake like leaving important pieces exposed.
"Checkmate," you said while sliding your bishop into position.
Dust stared at the board for a moment, double-checking that, yes, you had just won the game. Finally, he seemed satisfied and nodded slowly.
"fair enough."
You took a deep breath and stretched your shoulder muscles. You still had it, even after all these years.
He began setting the pieces up again and glanced up at you expectantly. "rematch?" he asked.
There was a sort of spark in his eyelights that you couldn't quite place. Almost like he was excited or maybe passionate was a better word. It kinda thrilled you to see and you couldn't deny him now.
"Sure, why not?" you shrugged.
You ended up playing several more games over the next few hours. While you managed to win one, Dust seemed to have found his momentum and won every other game from then on. It was kind of impressive actually, seeing him study the board and then move pieces you hadn't expected him to. You quickly realized he was probably playing at least three or four rounds ahead of each move.
You didn't mind losing to him though. It had been so long since you'd played against anyone actually challenging and you were having fun. With each consecutive game, he was getting faster at beating you and you were beginning to realize that you'd vastly underestimated how clever he was. It could also be that he was just really good at figuring out patterns though.
One surprising thing was that he started talking during the games and not just trash talk or making related comments either. He was actually talking about himself for once.
"you know that idiot colleague of mine?" he asked and shifted a rook over slightly.
"Mhm?"
"he seems to think he's better than me at everything and constantly challenges me to these stupid contests..."
You moved one of your pawns up a space and glanced at Dust to signal that it was his turn.
"he also has to be a constant pain in my coccyx and can't help purposely annoying me at all hours of the day."
"Sounds lovely..."
"it's really not... he even goes so far as to steal exp from me whenever he gets the chance." He moved one of his pawns in front of the pawn you'd just moved to block it. "i hardly stand to be in the same room as the guy..."
"I assume that's a bad thing because of the...withdrawals, as you coined it?"
"it's mostly just an annoyance but yeah."
You fell silent for a moment as you considered your next move. Dust had already taken one of your knights and both of your bishops so you weren't left with many ways to attack him. Finally, you just elected to shift your king towards the corner where he'd be more protected.
"That sucks, why do you even work with the guy if he's so awful?" you asked.
He shrugged and scanned the board for a moment. "don't have much choice i suppose... we all essentially owe our boss so we gotta keep doing whatever he wants." When you frowned slightly, he added, "it's not so bad really, i'd be stuck in an empty world for the rest of time if he hadn't found me. at least this way, i get to do stuff and travel around a lot."
"I guess that's not too bad then..."
"killer's from pretty much the same type of world as me, although he's probably even more messed up."
"I assume that's your colleague's name...?"
Dust blinked when he realized that he'd even mentioned it. "yeah...and before you ask, no, his parents didn't call him that either." He cracked a crooked smile at you before moving his queen out.
"Very funny."
"i don't actually hate the guy though, even if i probably should. we get along when it counts... i've got his back and i know he has mine, if that makes sense?"
You hummed in acknowledgement but continued to stare at the board rather than actually respond. He had you in a tight spot all of the sudden now that his queen had come to play. Actually, he'd slipped up and left one of his bishops next to one of your pawns.
So, you slyly captured his piece and smirked at him to rub his mistake in his face. "Makes sense to me," you finally answered.
He didn't even look upset and slid his rook over across the board. "checkmate."
You stared at him blankly and took a deep breath. "Wow...you're like a Chess prodigy or something." You stood up to stretch your legs before adding, "That was fun but my brain's tired. You're a great opponent though, I haven't had to think that hard to beat someone in years!"
For a moment, his permanent smile widened into a more genuine one and his mismatched eyelights seemed to sparkle. His expression shifted back to a passive one seconds later though, which was slightly disappointing. He looked good when he was happy.
When you were cleaning up your apartment later on after he left, you had a sudden thought. Did Dust like you? He had willingly hung out with you today rather than appear out of nowhere all creepy like. Maybe you were starting to get through his cold exterior shell?
You weren't about to count your chickens before they hatched. If he wanted to be friends, you would wait patiently for him, and until then, you would continue being a listening ear if he ever felt the need to open up more. He kinda seemed like the type to bottle everything up until the stress from doing so becomes too much to bear any longer.
It was strange, but you felt like some progress had been made today.

he was late. which was becoming a common occurrence but you tried to ignore it, went through all the possibilities in your head as you checked your phone once more. if he didn’t show in the next fifteen minutes you were grabbing the check and leaving. after an already terrible week, this was just icing on the cake. your anxiety rose as you thought about what could be wrong. he wasn’t answering your phone calls, wasn’t reading your texts. what if he had been in an accident? what if something really bad happened and you would have no idea because you aren’t listed on any contact lists.
you checked your phone again. nothing. you let out a huff of frustration, waving the waiter over and smiling sadly as you asked for the check. on the drive back to your apartment, tears pricked at the corners of your eyes. you tried to will them away but that didn’t stop the salty streams from falling. a bottle of wine and your favorite rom-com were calling your name, ready to forget all about the evening.
the feeling of disappointment never faded, it somehow grew stronger as not a single notification came through. you didn't even bother grabbing a glass, choosing to drink directly from the bottle. real classy, you thought.
just as julia roberts was sliding on her panty hose, there was a thud outside of your door. it spooked you, causing you to jump out of your skin. 10pm. who in the hell was at your door this late?
your sadness turned into burning hot anger as you saw rhett through the peephole. he was holding a bouquet of flowers and muttering something to himself. you were tempted to not even open the door, leave him standing out on the landing all night and see how it makes him feel. but you couldn't be that cruel, no matter how mad you were, not with the way snow was starting to fall outside.
"what?" you said, irritation seeping through your voice.
"this wasn’t how it was supposed to go. i promise i didn't mean to stand you up. i was on my way out the door and-"
you cut him off with a raised hand, not wanting to hear any excuses. you stepped aside for him to enter the apartment, your whole body shivering from the cold that was making its way inside.
"can i finish?" rhett asked hatefully.
you couldn't stop your eyes from rolling, but gestured for him to finish nonetheless.
"i had a business phone call, and it took longer than expected. i know i should have responded but i got distracted and i'm sorry. i know you had been looking forward to this all week and-"
"oh, so now you care?! look, rhett. i get it. i know you have all of the ranch business to take care of, but you could've sent one text. that's all i wanted. do you know how much it hurt sitting there not knowing if something had happened to you? i don't think i ask for much... i don't care that you were on a call. i was worried sick. and then for you to not say anything and just show up here, flowers in hand, and expect everything to be okay? it doesn't fix anything."
your voice was wavering as you spoke, tears forming once again. he was standing there with his arms crossed, like he was waiting impatiently for you to finish.
"are you done?"
"am i- yeah, i'm done, rhett." there was a hint of malice in your tone and rhett didn't miss it for one second. "don't patronize me and treat me like i'm being dramatic about this. i was thinking you were dead on the side of the road!"
"well i'm here now," he said matter-of-fact.
you couldn't take it anymore. he didn't understand why you were upset and you really weren't in the mood to explain it further.
"i don't want you to be," you uttered quietly.
"so, do you want me to leave?"
"i really don't want you driving back this late... but we're not done talking. and you're sleeping on the couch. i’ll see you in the morning." you didn't say another word to him as you picked up the wine bottle and headed towards your room, leaving rhett standing in the middle of your living room with wilting flowers in his hands.
join the celebration!
