My bestie is a guy and I am more comfortable around him then anyone to the point that if I'm in a really bad place I don't feel gross getting cuddles from him. Jack and Maddie aren’t good parents but they sure as fuck love their kids.

Okay, I really don’t care how much I hate get for this take if I get any at all.

I’m tired of everyone in the Danny Phantom fandom painting Jack and Maddie as these two monsters who if they found out Danny was half dead sooner that they would kill him.

They’re not good parents, I’m not say they are, but they do love their kids. They love them so much and that is plan to see.

And are we just gonna overlook how many times that they found out Danny’s secret and still loved him. I mean yes their memories were erased time and time again, but that out come never changed. They loved Danny and they loved Jazz.

And the only time they had a different reaction was when they found out Dan was once Danny, and that might have been disgust but that disgust wasn’t even directed towards Dan. That disgust was directed towards themselves that they didn’t see that Danny was Phantom and they blamed themselves for what happened to him even though they had no control over that situation.

And then there’s Phantom Planet when they found out Danny was Phantom and absolutely lost their shit when they learned this fact, but not because they were angry, but because they were scared. Because they were 100% sure that they just lost their little boy die, only to be so relieved when they found out he was alive. 

In almost every instance of them finding out Danny was Phantom they were shocked, confused, and scared for him, but they were also proud. They were proud that their little boy was helping others and though they didn’t like the way he was helping people mostly because they were devastated that he was half dead, and also because he was putting himself in more danger by doing what he was doing.

I’m not making excuses for them, Jack and Maddie aren’t good parents, they didn’t know their son was a ghost, they didn’t notice when their daughter started being more of a parent to their son then they were, and they didn’t notice when their old “friend” was batshit crazy.

They love their kids though, and I’m so tired of everyone making them the villains and Vlad the good guy, when Vlad knew that Danny was nothing more than a fourteen-year-old boy with strange powers and repeatedly tried to kill him.

Everyone says that if Jack and Maddie had found out that Danny was Phantom they would have ripped him apart. 

They found out multiple times that Danny was Phantom and the only times they laid a hand on him was either to hug him or squeeze his shoulders in reassurance. 

Danny was never once scared of his parents because he knew that they loved him, because every time they found out he was a ghost they still loved him and they let him know that.

And, yes before anyone says “calm, down it’s just a show” I get that, but I’ve been in this fandom for a long time and this take is only getting worse to the point where it’s just annoying.

Well, I'm sure you can understand my skepticism of your supposed blackness when you came into my inbox to yell at me on anon and I'm sure you can prolly guess my skepticism that you've talked to multiple black and indigenous people of color about my small maybe hundred note posts about the racism Nate suffered through within the show (or at the hands of Jade which are an even smaller amount), but if you're really a black person who has talked to other black and indigenous people about my posts and you've all come away with the conclusion that I'm a whiny misogynist baby then who am I to argue 🤷‍♀️ I guess I can just ask the multiple people of color who have purposefully followed my account because of those posts and have responded to my criticisms of the show with similar ones of their own or maybe the multiple women of color who have expressed similar feelings about Jade's response to Nate who have witnessed the men of color in their lives deal with microaggressions white women throw at them in the name of "feminism". Always use "excuse me" if you have to get into someone else's personal space.

Someone at the store is standing in front of the shelf where there's a can you want to grab? Don't just reach into their personal space without warning, say "excuse me" or "pardon my reach" first so that they at least have a warning that someone is about to reach into their personal space, and most importantly, so that they have a chance to move before you get into their space.

Or if someone is standing on a walkway or in a doorway you need to get through, don't just silently shove past them or squeeze past them, say "excuse me" so that they have a warning that a someone is about to squeeze or shove into their personal space, and they have a chance to move out of the way before you do you.

People deserve a fair warning if someone is about to squeeze or shove or reach into their personal space. A lot of people are not okay with having someone, but especially a stranger, randomly shove or squeeze or reach into their personal space without warning. They also deserve a chance to move out of the way first for the sake of their comfort.

Try to avoid just staring at people who are in your way and expecting them to read your mind that you want them to move. Most people cannot, in fact, read minds, so having someone stand in front of them and stare at them often only leads to making them feel uncomfortable and frustrated.

But also more importantly, if you are standing somewhere someone needs to get to, and they say excuse me, you should move aside for them even if just temporarily, so they can avoid the discomfort of having to reach into your personal space or squeeze past you.

If someone is saying "excuse me" it's because they would like you to move because they don't want to have to get into your personal space, whether it's out of respect for you, or just because they themselves are not comfortable getting in your personal space.

All of this goes double for people with trauma and/or people who are neurodivergent. If someone has trauma related to abuse or assault they may find it more upsetting or possibly triggering to suddenly have someone shoving or reaching in their personal space without warning.

Or, many types of neurodivergence can make it especially disturbing and unpleasant to have someone else in your personal space, especially without warning.

You can never be 100% sure who is and isn't traumatized and/or neurodivergent, so always practice respecting other's personal space by giving them a fair warning with "excuse me" or "pardon my reach" before getting in their personal space, and moving aside when you hear those magic words. Or, even if someone isn't traumatized nor neurodivergent, it's still fair to not like someone in your personal space without warning and not being given the opportunity to move first.

Dp x Dc AU: Danny and Tim are twins- And Vlad is the first to figure this out in his attempts to get DavlCo a new investor.

Tim was getting the creeps from this guy. It was as if the room got colder, the seconds got longer and the room's shadows moved to their own volition. He stared Tim down less like 'You punk kid' and more like 'You'll be mine' in a way that Tim didn't appreciate. At all.

The guy kept setting meetings up despite Tim's direct insistance that Wayne Enterprises would never touch DalvCo- not with a ten foot pole or for all the money in the world. Some how Tim's board of directors kept getting swindled by the guy and... therefore more meetings. More looks from this guy that made him want to crawl out of his skin.

Vlad asked him if he ever went by Timothy- Tim couldn't reply "that's not my name" fast enough. It apparently inspired the guy somehow. More meetings that Tim can't reject because of board members pop up.

It's been long determined that Jason doesn't get involved with Wayne Enterprises, but after the Uncle and a few other paid-actor solutions go up in flames- Tim decides to call up his older brother to act as a bodyguard and tell this guy to fuck off for the final time.

Jason apparently also gets the Heebee-jeebies from this asshole but his message is loud and clear to Vlad. There's a flash of green and then all of sudden it's just Tim and Jason in the room... Only Jason isn't acting like himself.

Putting it together- Tim reaches for his contingency F stash of Knock out gas and doses Jason. Vlad doesn't re-appear so Tim assumes that to mean that he'll be trapped in Jason's person until Jason wakes up.

Walking out of the meeting room with his bus of a brother over his shoulders- Tim quickly asks Tam to reach out to Vlad's Emergency contact. Surely there is someone in this man's company willing to explain what the fuck Vlad was trying to pull. Tim theoretically can keep Jason drugged asleep for a long time- surely that threat can get him somewhere.

The day drags on as Tim continues to keep Jason unconscious and eventually Tam lets him know that someone is here for Vlad. She says it with the addition of one of their codes- He mentally prepares himself for the worst and then... His doppleganger walks through the door? What the fuck?

Tim and Danny puzzle about one another for a little too long and Jason wakes up- Vlad pops out immediately. A shouting match between Danny and Vlad commences and...

"Man I knew our family had unresolved issues but seriously what the fuck has your clone dealing with?" Jason asks, as though he could watch this all day with pop corn.

"You made more clones?!" Danny screamed at Vlad who's only response is "Not this one! This one is actually polite!"

"Fuck you!" Tim and Danny reply in tandem.

Guys Chuuya's feelings toward Dazai must be so absolutely incomprehensible right? Right??

Like, you meet this kid who insults you and acts all intellectually superior and then turns around and defends you in front of your friends. Is like "Let's kill this dude together" after which you demand him explain why he's so gung ho about living suddenly, and seem to be satisfied with his answer?? So you put your life in this asshole kid's hands and he comes through. You did it. You defeated the bad guy.

Then this kid turns about and reveals he was playing you and your friends the whole time, and blackmails you with your friends' lives (friends who stabbed you literally in the back like 10 seconds ago, it was a really shitty day). You join the mafia but you pretend somehow you did it of your own volition and not because of the manipulations of this kid.

Fast forward a year later, you make new genuine friends who die immediately by some French asshole trying to control your life, and the shitty manipulative kid is back, saves you from imploding on yourself and carries you all the way to your dying friends so you could say goodbye, running off before you can stop him. Goes completely AWOL when you need him for your plan to kill the French asshole, shows up AGAIN to the place you'd just been tortured in. You decide the only reasonable way to deal with this is to tie him to a pole and spin him around until he's sick, and he 100% agrees. You come up with a plan to finally beat the French asshole. Oops the plan backfires. Now you gotta trust the shitty manipulative kid with your life so you can save the city and maybe the world. Somehow everything works out.

Oh, not to mention the horrible hallucinations you had of this kid claiming you're just like him.

He caused your friends to abandon you. He plays arcade games with you every Sunday. He is the worst version of yourself. He is a menace. You trust him with your life. He claims to want to brainwash you into being your maid. He drew you into the mafia only to ditch you three years later. How Chuuya doesn't have an aneurysm every time Dazai is mentioned I don't know.
