I dare russia to condemn hamas. go ahead putin and russian public, tell us how much you condemn hamas terroristic acts on Israel should be met with all the military might of Israel and world support including russia.

Russia won’t condemn hamas. Russia will treat it like a fist fight between 2 angry parties. russia won’t condemn Hamas because russia is doing the bigger scale version of the same terrorism.

Detours

(for someone who needs to hear this again)

“I can’t believe in a God that sends people to Hell.”

It was said with some anger. And some pride. As if it was unanswerable. Proof that Christianity was worthless and inhumane.

I think that’s why he was taken aback when I responded, “me neither.”

Because God isn’t in the business of sending anyone to Hell.

That’s my job. I can be in the business of sending me to Hell. If I’m dumb enough to do it.

So what business is God in?

God is in the construction business. And He specializes in detours.

That’s the point Jesus is making in today’s Gospel.

Think of it this way. You and I are driving down a road. Passing sign after sign that says “Bridge Out. 10 miles ahead.” “Bridge Out. 7 miles ahead.” “Bridge Out. 5 miles ahead.”

Right below every sign, there’s a bright orange arrow that says “Detour.”

If you look in the direction the arrow’s pointing, you’ll see a solid, well-traveled road. Wide enough to handle whatever load you’re carrying.

As you pass by them on your way to the washed-out bridge, you’ll notice something familiar about all the “Detour” signs. Not to mention the roads they point to.

That’s because they all have the same builder.

God is in the construction business. And He specializes in detours.

So if you’re not in the mood to find out what happens when you try to drive over a washed-out bridge, you should probably take the next detour.
