#could he not have used someone being forceful with izuku but in a caring way???

I am so tired of how horikoshi chooses to write izuku and katsuki's relationship...
kudou... who looked into izuku's memories and saw him being bullied, emotionally and physically, for years by katsuki... is telling izuku to visualize a moment where katsuki is being an unprovoked asshole to him in order to transfer ofa to shigaraki forcibly.
this desire of hori's to have his cake and eat it too when it comes to katsuki's abusive behaviors is too much for me. one minute they're slapstick; other times I am supposed to take them seriously as awful things he needs to change about himself. it's so inconsistent, and it drives me up a wall. it's clear horikoshi wanted to incorporate typical rival tropes for these two, but to me, those just really do not work when you have a bully and victim dynamic.

-me seeing someone say dad for one isn’t realistic because afo wasn’t a good dad to Shigaraki-
That’s assuming that dad for one means he’s a great dad. It has no relations on him being good or bad parent nor can Tomura be used as a way to ‘disprove’ anything when he’s a purposeful victim/replacement.
Sometimes I wonder if they assume all dad for one believers think AFO is sunshine and roses to his family. Or that he can’t be both callous and cruel to Tomura yet marginally better when with family/kin. Dad for one is simply the belief that AFO is Izuku’s biological dad it can’t tell you how that relationship actually is. Also if going to use relationships with family you can only use Yoichi as a more accurate measure.
Everyone theorized Dabi being but were very wrong about his relationship with his siblings. Since they thought he liked them for some reason only to be shown he could care less as considered them part of the problem.
But most people believing in dad for one kind of believe that AFO even if is ‘nice’ to his family still has a dubious connection. As likely would lie or omit information from them about his villain life. Also the man would be ‘Hisashi’ who is always over seas so isn’t even around much which can be seen as neglectful. Never even a damn phone call.
Sometimes I wonder if people only see dad for one and assume, There no way it canon AFO is terrible to Tomura!
And seemed to forget that Tomura was chosen specifically as a vessel. His purpose was never a ‘son’ but a replacement body. While family as he shown with Yoichi don’t have a role in the villain empire. He doesn’t need them to do anything but be beside him. And that’s the minimum, but is also willing to do excessive force as seen when threw his little brother in a vault.
I dunno it just there always someone that anti-dad for one bringing up Tomura or how cruel he is when it has literally no bearing on dad for one theory heck he could just be a sperm donor and it works. Also Tomura would be justified in being pissed the fuck off that AFO had a semi-normal life while making him suffer. Because it truly fucked up how he will truamitize and hurt Tomura then go home to his family like nothing.

love makes me stronger
izuku midoriya x reader
after an incident in which you were captured, izuku comes to rescue you and in turn is forced to listen to a villain's monolog. will the villain be able to tug at izuku's heartstrings after all he's done? 1.1k
Tumblr media
Your hands brace against the material now holding you hostage. It's hard and rough to the touch, almost like unpolished quartz, with a golden glow. Your fingernails scraping against it makes the hairs on your neck stand up, but the one thing you are grateful for is the fact that you can see through it; so that you can see him and know that he's alive.
Izuku kneels before the man who entombed you; blood drips down his face as he clutches his ribs, and you can tell by the way he's positioned his leg that there is something wrong with his ankle, but even if his body is bruised that look in his eyes never waivers.
He stares down the man in front of him. The man who burned down a hospital to steal you away in the chaos and who set an army of henchmen to 'clear up the stragglers.'
You can still feel the man's hand on your mouth from when he dragged you away, whispering in your ear, "This is all your fault you know, yours and his."
You didn't know what he meant then but the more he speaks the more you're able to peace together.
"The great Deku," he sneers, "Japan's savior, in fact, the world's savior. And what is he here for? As the city outside is being overrun?"
The man yanks Izuku’s hair, turning his head so that he can look directly at you. There's a falter in Izuku’s breathing when his eyes meet yours, and his gaze softens.
"You're here for the woman you love." The man's gangly voice cracks, "Pathetic."
Izuku's eyes flash with a dark murth as he straightens himself. "You said you wouldn't hurt her if I came. I'm here, so let her go." Izuku's voice is authoritative and so much unlike the voice that whispers into your ear late at night. It sends a shiver down your spine.
The man takes a few steps, pondering Izuku’s request. A hand on his chin his trenchcoat flaps against his legs.
He quickly turns on his heels, and makes a check with fingers. "No."
From the ground a prision of the same make as yours quickly snaps into place around Izuku. This must be his quirk.
Izuku starts to bang against the new walls around him until the man clicks his tongue. "I wouldn't do that if I was you, hero."
The man's fingers twist, and the walls around you start closing.
"NO! Stop!" Izuku yells.
You try to use strength against the walls to stop them but it does nothing until the man untwists his fingers. The walls then stabilize in their current condition.
"I was like you once, hero." There's hatred dripping from the man's every word.  "Had someone I would have risked everything for, and they were taken from me! My partner was killed because you HERO'S don't care about anything but yourselves! All those years ago when you 'saved Japan,' when us evacuees we're supposed to be safe! When hundreds of us got stuck under the collapsing barrier, who did the heros save? Not them.
"My quirk wasn't strong enough then. I could barely hold two cells open, and they couldn't withstand the force they can now. I watched the hero's save their own while I was helpless to save mine!
"Do you know how that feels?" The man's voice raging against his vocal cords as he glares at Deku.
Izuku lifts his head, his eyes meeting the villains, shrouded by the hair sticking to his forehead. Izuku chooses to remain silent. He knows of loss, and pain, but this man's pain does not justify his crimes.
"Love is a burden. Even with love I wasn't strong enough, but without it? Look what I've done without love… the power I've amassed…" He pauses for a second before spinning to face Deku directly. "Love is weakness."
Izuku's nose flares and his fists ball at his sides.
The man flicks the wall between him and Izuku, "Let me destroy your weakness for you."
He twists his fingers and a panic jump starts your heart. The walls slowly start to close in on you, your breathing increasing in the small space making you light headed as you push on the walls.
Izuku winds his arm back and punches the wall in front of him. The orange glow pulses as it's hit, again and again.
The villain throws his head back and laughs, "That is unbreakable Mr. Hero. Not even diamonds can drill through it."
Izuku keeps punching, each time putting more and more energy into his punches as the walls around you become just an arms length wide.
"If you have any last words to your beloved, now would be the time to say them, dear hero."
The repetitive motion of his punches has been building Fa Jin and, even with his knuckles now bloodied, he punches again at one hundred percent.
The orange pulse from the punch’s impact ricochets through the walls, getting faster and faster until the walls burst.
"You're wrong." Izuku stands and takes a menacing step towards the man, who is now backing up slowly with shaky legs. "Love makes me stronger."
Izuku takes another step, and your walls stop moving.
"Release her."
Another step forward.
"Now."
The man's hands shake as he releases the walls around you, and you collapse gasping for air.
But Izuku isn't done.
"You have hurt and killed countless people, made them endure the suffering you did. We all lost people in that battle. You lost someone important to you and I'm sorry for that." With every word he gets closer to the man until he's backed him into a wall. "But. You. Are. Wrong. Love doesn't make you weak. Love is the reason you keep fighting."
The cowering man slips down the wall, crumpling into a blubbering sack.
Izuku looks to you before handcuffing the man, making sure you're okay before calling for backup.
He had to get the official hero duties out of the way before he got to you because he knew as soon as he did he wasn't going to let go for the next week.
With the phone call made, and other heroes on their way he finally lets himself run over to you. The injuries he sustained earlier are forgotten as he wraps his arms around you; the ribs, the ankle, all of it is fine now that he has you in his arms again.
And you hug him back, clutching at every piece of him. Making sure he's alright and alive, as he does the same to you. It's not until he hugs you and buries his face in your neck that you can feel his tears against your skin. You hold him tighter, as your own tears start to fall.
Love makes him stronger. Your love and belief in him. And it's the thought that echoes through your mind as other heros and first responders flood the scene. All of them moving around the two of you locked in this embrace.

Tumblr media
A/N: Two in a day?? Insane
Triggers: nothing!
Characters: Shoto, Izuku, Katsuki, Ida, Hitoshi, and Denki
__________________________________________
Shoto is absolutely adored by your family, they say he’s a very well mannered guy and overall just love him. He always brings gifts to your parents and siblings whenever you invite him over, he loves seeing their happy faces. Convinced you to help him learn Spanish so that he could communicate better with your parents, honestly just made ur parents like him even more. His accent is completely off, but he tries and that’s what matters. You hear him use words that someone in your family says (like no mames, ala verga, güey etc) and you always laugh because he has zero idea what it means but says it anyways. Tia’s love messing with him, “how did you end up with someone like my niece/nephew?” And overall embarrass you in front of him. He’s greats with kids, usually during parties you and him are the ones taking care of all your younger cousins while their parents chill out. Does not hit the piñata at parties and if he does, he doesn’t try, prefers if the kids are the ones who break it.
Izuku is adored by your family, everyone loves him. Whenever you invite him over to parties he makes sure to bring something wether it’s drinks or some flan. He started to learn Spanish on his own; he never told you so when he randomly began to speak Spanish with your parents the three of you where quite in shock. Surprisingly his accent is good but he pronounces thing weirdly sometimes. Always tries to have conversations with you in Spanish but always ends up dropping it after ten minutes because he isn’t completely fluent yet. He’s good with kids but not great, he’s a single child so he can only handle kids whenever they aren’t crying, though he tries. Whenever there’s piñatas at a party he’s always the last to hit because everyone knows he would fuck that shit up in a single hit; kids love him for it though.
Katsuki didn’t hit it off with your parents at first; that was until your mother tasted his cooking whenever he brought over some curry he made at home. She switched up so quick on him, the both of them bond so well. Besides the language barrier they understand each other completely when it comes to cooking, you like being there to be the “judge” of their cooking. You force him to learn Spanish, he acts as if he doesn’t want to but you’ve noticed him muttering words in Spanish during class. His accent and pronunciation are pretty good, he loves to show off by speaking Spanish to your family for long periods of time. Uses a lot of slang while talking to cousins around his age, most he doesn’t even know what they mean but he uses them correctly. Tia’s tease him about being the housewife of the relationship. Is not good with kids, he was raised basically the same way you where but you refuse to let him near kids with such an attitude. Puts his everything to those swings whenever hitting the piñata, he once broke the stick in half and it went flying to the neighbors yard; but at least he gets the job done.
Ida is loved by your parents as well, he’s smart and very well mannered what isn’t there to love about him? He brings you and your mom flowers whenever he’s over. Learned Spanish on his own because he wants to be able to speak to your parents without having you translate all the time. His accent and pronunciation is on point, he’s good. Though he doesn’t use much slang, he’s very formal when he speaks Spanish. Good with kids but is not willing to spend all his time around them, because he isn’t great with them. If there’s a piñata at the party he always makes sure to not hit it hard, both because he doesn’t want to ruin the fun for the kids and so the kids feel like they’re stronger than him. They always tease him about being a weak guy even though he’s pretty toned.
Hitoshi sorta freaked out your parents at first. They said with those eyebags of his he looked like some sort of hobo off the street. Though thankfully he didn’t understand what they said. Took a while for your parents to warm up to him and realize he was a pretty cool guy. Learned Spanish to try and get closer to your parents; of course with your help. His accent and pronunciation are both a bit off but you can sorta understand what he’s saying. You’re parents like the fact he’s trying to learn Spanish to talk to them. Not good with kids, he’s incredibly awkward with them. He’s only ever ever hit a piñata once and that’s because he accidentally let go of the bat and it almost hit someone.
Denki is literally adored by your whole family. Even though he doesn’t bring gifts or anything to parties he has the energy that everyone loves. Always up to dance with literally anyone (of course you had to teach him) and yet he’s still learning so at times he’s accidentally stepping on people feet. Doesn’t stop him from being all happy though, people just make fun of him. Learned Spanish with your help, his accent is horrible but still speaks it anyways; he sounds like a white person. Literally the life of the party. Whenever you know about any celebration going on in your family he has to be the first one you need to invite. Your whole family agreed that he needs to be blindfolded whenever hitting the piñata and that everyone needs to be at least 8 feet away from him while he swings. Cause when he swings, he swings.

EMERGENCY REQUEST
Hi, A while ago I used to have a very bad mental health condition, I can't say for sure what I had(i have an idea but i cannot Say they exact things), because even today I haven't gone to a psychologist to get a diagnosis about my mental health, I wanted to send this to see if you could make a request with Izuku and Kacchan with their childhood friend (Kacchan platonic and with Izuku non-platonic if it's not too much trouble) And one day they find out by accident that she went through a mild eating disorder, self-harm, social anxiety, family problems and a toxic need to be a perfect student (They find out about this already in the first year of the UA, this happened to her in the first year of middle school)I would like to read this because when I was in 7th grade I had all this on my shoulders, I felt like garbage and my family never helped, they only made things worse...Reading it would be like being able to feel that comfort that to this day I have not been able to have because although I would like to be able to talk about it with someone, I am unable to open up, I avoid those topics as much as I can.
Thank you so much! And sorry if I haven't explained myself well.
Tumblr media
A/N: I'm really sorry to hear that you've been going through such a challenging time with your mental health. It takes a lot of courage to acknowledge your struggles, and I truly admire your willingness to share this. When you're ready, seeking support from a psychologist or therapist can be immensely helpful
EMERGENCY REQS MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Izuku and Katsuki walked back to the UA dormitory, their footsteps echoing in the quiet evening. The day had been filled with training and lectures, and now, as they strolled under the dimming sky, they found themselves in a contemplative mood.
Katsuki glanced over at Izuku and noticed the pensive look on his friend's face. "What's eatin' at ya, Deku?" he asked in his typical gruff manner.
Izuku hesitated for a moment, choosing his words carefully. "Kacchan, you know our childhood friend Y/N, right?"
Katsuki's eyebrows furrowed as he thought about it. "Yeah, vaguely. What's she got to do with anything?"
Izuku took a deep breath, trying to find the right way to phrase what was on his mind. "I overheard something today, something about her," he began. "It sounds like she's been through some really tough stuff, especially during her first year of middle school. Eating disorder, self-harm, social anxiety, family problems, and a toxic need to be a perfect student."
Katsuki's expression hardened, his usual tough exterior showing cracks as concern flickered in his eyes. "That's messed up, nerd."
As they approached the dormitory, they heard voices coming from the teacher's lounge, where Aizawa and Nezu were deep in conversation. The name 'Y/N' drifted into their ears, and they couldn't help but listen.
"I think we should keep an eye on Y/N," Aizawa said. "She's clearly been through a lot, and I don't want her to feel isolated or overwhelmed here at UA."
Nezu nodded in agreement. "You're right. We should find a way to support her without making her feel exposed or uncomfortable."
Katsuki clenched his fists, anger simmering beneath the surface. "I'll just go talk to her and kick all these stupid ideas off her head."
Izuku, on the other hand, was quick to respond, albeit more gently. "Kacchan, but we need to be careful. Y/N has been through a lot, and pushing her too hard could do more harm than good. We should approach this delicately."
Katsuki scowled but was willing to listen. "Okay, fine, Deku. What's your brilliant idea then?"
"I think we should let Y/N know that we're there for her, no matter what. Encourage her to talk to us when she's ready? We can offer her our support and friendship without forcing her to reveal everything all at once."
Katsuki huffed in annoyance, but he couldn't deny that Izuku's suggestion made sense. "Fine, fine, we'll do it your way then, nerd."
Later that evening, Izuku and Katsuki found themselves in a common livingroom, still contemplating how to approach the delicate situation with Y/N. Izuku sat on a couch, thoughtful, while Katsuki paced around, clearly agitated, trying to finish his English homework. "You really think this is the right way, Deku? I can't freaking focus because of that goddamn girl. Why do girls always have to be so complicated? " Katsuki asked, his frustration evident.
"I do, Kacchan. Y/N's been through a lot. She needs to know we're here for her, and when she's ready, she'll come to either of us."
Katsuki paused, his fiery demanour momentarily waning. He knew that Izuku was right; a more gentle approach was necessary. He sat down on the floor, scowling as he admitted, "Fine."
Izuku smiled, relieved that Katsuki had agreed. "Great, Kacchan."
Bakugo, catching a glimpse from the corner of his eye, noticed Mina, Kaminari, and Tsuyu observing him and Deku. Irritated, he turned to them and bellowed, "What the hell are you staring at, extras!?" His fiery personality showing no mercy, even to his friends.
The next day, they put their plan into action.
You were in the common room, looking somewhat distant as you read a book.
Izuku approached you cautiously, determined to make you feel comfortable. Kacchan watched him from a distance, pretending to be engrossed in preparing a dinner.
"Hey, Y/N," Izuku began with a warm smile, "How's your day been?"
You looked up, surprised by the sudden attention. You hesitated for a moment but then replied, "Oh, it's been okay, I guess?"
Katsuki chimed in, trying to keep his tone softer than usual. "You don't need to hide stuff, you know. We're your friends, and we're here for you."
Your eyes widened slightly, and you swallowed hard. You weren't used to opening up about your struggles, but the genuine concern made you feel a little safer. "But I'm not hiding anything…" you protested.
Bakugo grumbled from a distance. "Tsch! For crying out loud, it's obvious you're not alright, nerd. Quit with the act, you're a terrible actress, Y/N, damn it!"
Izuku continued, "I… We know that life can be tough. You don't have to go through it alone. When you're ready to talk, we'll be here to listen, without any judgment, okay?"
Katsuki nodded, showing an uncharacteristic patience. "Yeah."
Tears welled up in your eyes as you felt the sincerity of their words. You had been carrying your burdens in silence for so long, and the idea of sharing them with friends was both scary and comforting. "Thank you, boys," you whispered, your voice quivering. "I appreciate your support."
Izuku reached out and placed a hand on your shoulder, offering a reassuring squeeze. "You're welcome, Y/N. We care about you, and we want to help in any way we can."
Katsuki grumbled, but there was a softness in his gaze as he added, "And if anyone gives you trouble, they'll have to deal with me."
Tears welled up in your eyes, and without warning, you leaned into Izuku's comforting arms.
Izuku was a little taken aback by your sudden move, but he didn't push you away. Instead, he embraced you gently, his hand softly petting your Y/H/C hair.
As you nestled in his embrace, you finally opened up about how awful you were feeling. Your voice quivered as you spoke. "I don't know what to do… I just… I feel so lost and overwhelmed. It's like I'm drowning in my own thoughts and fears, and I can't escape."
Izuku held you a little tighter, his own heart aching for you. "I'm here for you, Y/N. You're not alone in this. We'll find a way through it, together, I promise."
You continued, your voice breaking, "I've been trying to be strong for so long, but I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. It's like I'm carrying the weight of the world, and it's crushing me."
"You don't have to carry it all by yourself. You have friends who care about you, who want to help. We'll lighten that burden, step by step. You're not alone, Y/N."
You clung to him, your sobs slowly subsiding as his comforting presence gave you solace. It was the first step in a journey of healing and support. With tears still glistening in your eyes, you raised your head and looked up at Izuku. Leaning in, you placed a tender kiss on his cheek. "Thank you for all of your support, Deku," you whispered, your gratitude evident in your eyes.
As you expressed your gratitude to both of your friends, Izuku felt his cheeks flush with a deep shade of crimson. His heart began to race, pounding in his chest like a drumbeat. The genuine warmth of the unexpected kiss on his cheek left him feeling both flustered and deeply touched. Unbeknownst to you, Izuku had been harboring a significant crush on you.
But before you could say more, a loud voice echoed across the room. Bakugo's angry shout filled the space, "Hey, I'm goddamn here as well, fucking nerd!"
You turned towards Katsuki, a grateful smile forming on your lips. "Thank you too, Kacchan," you said, addressing him. "I appreciate both of you more than I can express."

"Can't People (of the same gender) Just Be Friends Anymore? "
This is gonna be a fun one.
I kinda never went over this in my, "Deku Is Straight" post, and I guess it is a little different; but it's still a very popular argument against just queer ships in general. So,I will bring up how queer shippers get treated in most fandoms and just some problems in the media when it comes to representation; but it will mostly be about GreeNade and BNHA.
(⚠This post is not supposed to be hating on any one! It's absolutely fine if people view certain relationships as platonic, but what's not okay is having double standards and being a godamned hypocrite about it. This is just addressing issues that seem to pop up mainly against the queer shipping communities; not some kind of hate post. I encourage everyone to try and have an open mind and to try and be respectful of everyone's opinions. And as usual: as long as something is legal, ship away!⚠)
Broship
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you could not tell the ones on the top are taking about this scene:
Tumblr media
And,from what I'm reading, they didn't get it. Bakugo didn't do it for "humanity" he didn't do it because Izuku is just a good friend of his. His.Body.Moved.On.Its.Own. He wanted to protect Izuku so badly that his body made him do it. He also copied Izuku, like when Izuku's body moved in its own...? Y'know, like, the scientifically proven thing you do when you love someone in a romantic way?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(*Also, when Izuku does this for Ochaco he second guesses himself and forces himself to do it unlike with Kacchan. Just found that interesting; and Izuku even says "it wasn't like last time" because he had to force himself to move. His thoughts also get cut off before he can come to a conclusion...hmmm,interesting.*)
Tumblr media
Which Izuku has done this about a million times and even admits to it,
Tumblr media
but chapter 285 is where Bakugo mirrors Izuku(he has,I believe in some other moments in the manga,I can't remember for sure; but this is the chapter it's most apparent in.) ,he also does the analyzing thing Izuku does.
Tumblr media
Okay, now that is the significance (there is so much more that makes it so beautiful but that was just some of the quick stuff) So,can we really call this "friendship" ? Honestly,I guess,if you don't know anything about the relationship prior to this scene...actually no that's wrong. My Aunt saw this scene and asked if they were canon, she had not known anything about bnha/mha at the time. And when I gave context she was like, "so they're gay,?"
So, yeah. That scene even with no context; looks like someone dying for the person they love. But,perspective.
Here's the thing I'm addressing in this post. It isn't, "Guys, they don't do this for their other friends and they mirror each other on accident and the author himself doesn't refer to them as friends, ect, ect." There is too much that supports them being romantically interested in each other, but that's not the point. The whole "Friendship is dead, isn't it?" because people can see two dudes/girls liking each other romantically is.
And that moves us to the next section of this post.
Double Standards
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only time when someone says something like this Is when it's between people of the same gender. They aren't mad at people for shipping Momo with Izuku because they're just friends, that's okay because...don't tell anyone this is a secret antis have...they don't care as long as it's straight.
If it's queer it's "Friendship dead :(" but if it's someone like Melissa it's okay. It's honestly so...pathetic.
"Boy and boy have to be friend or my life is over 😠" or "Gal Pals or my life is RUINED 😨" Like, I have never seen someone get mad about straight ships like this. Honey,if someone said, "WHY can't a guy and girl just be friends for once?" Everyone would laugh in their face. Which is actually something I wish was normalized more. Once I had a dude friend and my whole family made fun of us and I literally cried because I had just figured out I liked girls a lot more than boys and I was having this thing pushed on me. That does not happen with gay people, actually get this, being called gay is still used as an insult.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(*That first one though...Like do they not know there are several canon trans characters and bisexual characters in bnha? And the Izuchako drawing 💀 I cried I was laughing so hard the first time I saw it.*)
If you know about the sonic idw comics, there are these two characters Whisper and Tangle. People instantly started shipping them because they were so cute with each other, but other people were mad because "two girls just can't be friends anymore" and it pretty much happens in every show that isn't LGBTQ+ centric.
Because people aren't going to read/watch Heartstopper and go, "Uh,these guys are straight why do you keep shipping them?" And as much as I love that we are getting stories and shows all about the queer experience, it does still piss me off that if it isn't something like a queer romance drama and or comedy people get mad at queer people for being in other things. People will be like, "You have shows that are centered around being queer, stop bringing it into our stuff," and it's exhausting. Like, there are billions of T.V shows, moves, books, comics, ect, that have nothing to do with a romance centered plot but they throw in this random hetro relationship that doesn't add to the characters or plot.
And that's one of the reasons I love BloodBubbles and GreNade, they add to the characters and parallel the story into their dynamics. I think all romance in stories should be like that. If a romantic relationship doesn't add anything but a little *smooch* *smooch* then it is ultimately useless. I understand if people like the *smooch* *smooches* but don't act like the relationship is well developed and needed. With a romance centered plot the romance is obviously needed. But does it mean it's good? Hell no. Most romantic movies have the characters fall in love in a week. That's just my opinion though.
Conclusion:
Stop using the "can't two people of the same sex/gender be friends anymore" argument,it just shows how much you do not know about queer people/relationships or just relationships in general. Queer people should be able to be represented in (God forbid) a Shonen and just media in general that isn't just a romance show. Everyone has different thoughts, opinions, and experiences, that shapes them into having a different perspective on things; but just because they have a different perspective doesn't mean it can disprove a plantain fact: Straight people have representation. Straight people do not need to fight for it either. So,stop fighting to be oppressed so badly.
Sorry to get so serious in the end...here this might lighten the mood!
Tumblr media
This is the angle number for 285! The chapter Bakugo's body moved on its own. I find the angle number being about kindness very interesting. :)
That worked right? Also,I like doing the conclusion in a bigger font,so I'll probably be doing that from now on when I'm wrapping my posts up.

Izuku x Reader
—It honestly kind of grated on your nerves. The way everyone made such a big deal about midoriya’s muttering. Sure, it was a constant thing that occurred during classes or when you were strategizing about battle moves. But half the time, more than that if you thought about it hard enough, he was spewing out valuable information and ideas to seriously consider. And despite that being the case, nobody took it into consideration, simply brushing it off unless someone caught onto one of the countless words he’d spoken.
And it irked you because, not only did they brush off his muttering with such disregard for the utter show of intelligence, they also discouraged it. You tried to understand them, not voicing your concerns whenever you heard someone snap him out of his thoughts with an unimpressed call of his name or a soft (you hoped) chop to his head. However, the apologetic and slightly wilted expression on his face every time it happened pulled at your heartstrings, calling forth a protective anger you didn’t know you were even capable of feeling for anyone.
Before UA, you hadn’t even spared your classmates so much as a glance or a few words due to a forced group project but the dangers Class 1-A had faced were a heck of a catalyst to get you to grow closer to them. And, to him, you supposed. It’s not like you were best friends but you hoped he considered you a close friend, more than Uraraka even (you saw the way he’d look at her at the beginning of first year and genuinely wished you could destroy the inklings of jealousy still lurking inside you). So, with the amount of time you spent near him, in and out of school, you’d grown used to his mannerisms. Maybe even come to adore them.
The way he resembled a speed demon when he got focused on studying or taking notes. The thumb to his lips, or tongue poking out from between them when he was lost in thought. Or the way he’d mutter to himself, almost too low to be heard, when he went off on a tangent or was in the process of figuring something out. It all endeared you to him and of course you wanted to protect all of that. They made him, him.
One evening as you both went over some homework in his living room, knelt around his dining table, you had both gotten off topic. One moment you were talking about inertia or something like that (you were honestly failing science at this point, it was a lost cause), and the next you were analyzing a hero battle occurring on the tv in front of you. Your eyes had been glued to the punches being thrown and the heroes flying around the scene until you began to hear some low murmuring next to you. You would’ve thought it was the white noise of the fridge or something if you weren’t so accustomed to hearing it by now.
The noise slowly grew louder in volume and by now you were watching from the corner of your eye as Midoriya’s eyes scanned the tv screen, a thumb pressed to the corner of his mouth in that way he always had it when he began muttering about something new. You didn’t realize you were smiling fondly until you were having to hide it, the muttering having stopped abruptly when his eyes flickered over to you and found you watching, listening to him go on about something he knew nobody really cared much about.
His ears went red as he started stuttering out an apology without another word, eyes lowered in anticipation of an annoyed huff or something along those lines. However, that never came. Rather, looking back up, he found you looking down with a frustrated crease to your brow.
He called you and watched as you looked up at him, half in thought and half unsure, as though you were deciding something. When he tilted his head to the side in confusion, your lips twitched and he could see in your eyes that you’d made up your mind about something but he just didn’t know what. He didn’t know what he was expecting when you spoke, but he couldn’t have prepared himself for any of it.
“I like when you mutter,” you started and as if to make sure his mind couldn’t tell him you were joking, you continued.
“I think it makes you sound smart. I know at school people are always getting all annoyed about it,” you say this with an actual frustrated huff, and he’s just so caught up on the fact that it’s on his behalf that he doesn’t notice the red tint to your face as you look away to keep talking.
“So don’t feel like you need to apologize. At least not around me. It’s cool.”
You try to say it with a false sense of laidback-ness and this time he notices your nervousness as well. The way you fidget with your fingers in the way he knows he does as well, and your eyes slightly squinting as if you were mentally going back over your words to check if you said anything weird.
He wondered if it would be weird to hug you. You were friends though, right? Did friends hug?
He knew his face must be flushed red but he couldn’t take his eyes off you, still relishing in the words you’d spoken. He’d never met anyone who tolerated his muttering like you had, much less appreciated it. For a moment he wondered, still, if you were joking but he scolded himself for the thought. He knew you weren’t that kind of person.
“Th-thanks! I don’t know how you’re okay with it—but I really, really appreciate that. No one’s ever….”
Your understanding smile caused him to trail off and he had a feeling he’d have to be careful muttering around you in the future lest he accidentally reveal the feelings that were fluttering in his chest at the sight of you.

BNHA Ch. 419
Haven't had much to say about the chapters lately. I didn't really find the fight between Shigaraki and Izuku very exciting and was checking up on leaks just to see if the ending had dropped yet.
But I was actually really excited to see this new development in 419.
I always suspected and hoped AfO gave Tenko decay and manipulated the situation so he wasn't saved. Now, we don't know if AfO orchestrated Tenko not being saved by a Hero during his trauma walk, but it was would be a little weird if he didn't after it's been revealed he had a hand in almost every aspect of Tenko's life.
I know a lot of fans are bumped by this choice or think it ruins his character, but personally it fixes a lot of my issues with how Shigaraki has been portrayed.
The main thing (as long as AfO did mess with Tenko being saved) is that it fixes the huge world building mistake that Tenko's backstory relies on. Now, I'm not a huge fan of the ridiculousness of Touya's backstory either, where this young teen in hospital clothes runs around a rich neighborhood, but that's not the core of his identity as a villain either. The thing that mattered was that Enji was still training Shoto so Touya thought his death didn't change anything.
Tenko's origin just straight up does not make sense with everything else we've been shown about this world. By the time Tenko was born Heroes were everywhere and beloved. We've never been shown anywhere else in the story that Heroes wouldn't help a child wandering around bloody on the streets actively asking for help. Even with civilians, claiming they rely to much on Heroes doesn't fix this because why wouldn't one of the thousands he walked by go get a Hero. I mean people report stuff all the time, and it'd give them an excuse to interact with what their society deems a celebrity.
It also makes AfO look stupid. Tenko is his golden ticket--he's putting all this effort into him, he's the only person he wants/can use for his goals. Why risk a Hero or caring civilain helping him? It would ruin his entire plan if anyone even showed a small kindness to Tenko. For someone who claims to plan everything, that's taking way to many chances.
I know the people that hated this reveal think it kneecaps the message of 'Hero Society bad', but I don't necessarily think the story was ever really trying to say that. It has issues and needs some fixing, but it's not what Shigaraki wanted--he wanted total destruction. It also explains why a bunch of stuff Shigaraki said didn't make sense with what we've been shown. He thinks the things he does because he's been lied to or set up in a way where that's the only conclusion he could come to.
And it's not as if all of Tenko's pain/suffering being caused by AfO makes BNHA society perfect. Spinner still faced racist discrimination, Toga's Quirk made her feel ostracized, Dabi was neglected and abused by his father who was a Hero, Twice is the poster child of the 'one bad day' motto. Shigaraki's origin is villainy itself and with AfO's own origin, a good argument of why Heroes exist. Now the entire core characters of the League have differeing backstories instead of Shigaraki just being a combo of them all, with some AfO manipulation sprinkled in.
It makes him a better foil for Izuku as well, since just like Izuku is often referred to as an empty puppet, Tenko could be viewed this way too. This is something Izuku can connect and help Tenko with when he comes back (because it'd be insane if he was just dead now). The one thing Shigaraki does have is a Heroic heart. Yes, AfO might have set some things up to get him to be that way, but you can't force someone to be altruistic or caring of others. Tenko cares about outcasts and his friends--that's still a part of him, even if it was nurtured by AfO for nefarious purposes.
So, yeah, that's my thoughts on 419. Actually sort of excited to see what happens next.

One thing I've noticed about how the Heroes seem to be operating under this harmful thinking of "It's okay if WE do it" kind of thing.
Like using Eri to heal Mirio's quirk, did they ask her first before doing it? Was Mirio really on board with this? All they said was that she was practicing her quirk on lizards and that's it.
And then have Shinsou brainwashing Gitanto. And then they try to make it less worse by revealing he secretly hated AFO for abandoning him when in actuality it's just used to not make the heroes look bad.
It's moments like these that makes the heroes, people we're supposed to be rooting for, look worse than the actual villains by having them do shit like this.
And with all their talk of "the kids will grow up to be better heroes than them" how are we supposed to believe this when we don't get their povs on these kind of things and seeing even going along with this?
God the writing is so bad...
Hi @theloganator101👋,
The writing and messaging in this series is atrocious at times. Especially with this. I do not believe the kids will grow up to be better than the adults before them at this point.
Everyone on the hero side definitely believes - "It's ok if WE do it."
1) Using Eri to heal Mirio has so many issues. Why is it ok for the heroes to use her to give Mirio his quirk back yet not ok for Overhaul to use her to make his bullets? (Overdouche was unnecessarily cruel to her however if he wasn't and was just taking her DNA via blood tests you bet the heroes would still have an issue with him using her to make his bullets.)
Eri has essentially gone from one situation where she is being violently abused and used for her quirk by a villain. To UA where she is in a nicer environment, being treated kindly (as a pass the parcel / class pet in a way in the care of the UA faculty.)
It seems like a harsh example but think about it. Think about how class pets are treated; kindly, brought out now and again to "aww" at and shared care given among the faculty/students. She's given no character, no trauma response the heroes help with, in fact they are using her again and they only have her in their care because they can use her. Which doesn't sit right at all with me.
2) Shinsou brainwashing Gigantomachia. You are right. I also hated this moment so so much. Am I meant to root for Shinsou or his story at this point? How can I when he is doing something that typically only the villains do in these types of stories? If he were brainwashing him to evacuate civilians / keep them safe I could understand but forcing him to attack AFO who he "loves". Not on. At all.
Whose idea even was it to do that and why is KIRISHIMA riding Gigantomachia like an animal?! It's so dehumanizing and humilating.
Gigantomachia's "anger" at AFO felt shoehorned in as a way of Hori forcefully trying to make us believe that what Shinsou is doing isn't that bad. But it is.
Put it this way - If a hero and their friend got into a fight, the friend was hurt by something the hero did - would it be ok for a villain to brainwash the friend to attack the hero? By Hori's logic here, the villain was ok to do that, the friend was upset at the hero so definitely wouldn't object to being forced to attack them.
This moment really soured my opinion on both Kirishima and Shinsou, but Shinsou especially.
Shinsou, who is meant to have a 'villianous quirk', yet Hori made him be praised, arrogant with a chip on his shoulder in his backstory. Now, he is someone to be rightfully wary of and who acts in a villianous way similar to 'The Dictator.' You know, the villain who AFO sent just before the 1A vs Izuku mess - who mind controlled all the civilians to attack Izu? Yeah this would be like that but if the Dictator got 1A at this moment and controlled them to attack Izuku. (Something I would have preferred to the 1A vs Izuku mess - as they would have been forced to fight him rather than doing it willingly.)
The fact that I can even make this comparison and make it have wieght is god awful. Hori's writing of the guys we are meant to root for is god awful.

thinking abt prohero!dynamight who is in the process of being nagged at by his fucking PR (again) about how to improve his public image (re:again). he honestly couldn’t give less of a shit, he was here to save people. to fight the bad guys. when he decided his life’s goal was to be a hero, be number 1, he didn’t take this into account. he was still as determined as ever to reach the top and stay there, but there were so many extra steps he wasn’t aware of. didn’t care for.
“god, he’s not even listening” someone groaned, dragging a hand down their face. another snapped their fingers at him. lead of the PR team. he thinks.
“Dynamight. focus up, please. I’m not going to repeat this.” his eyes narrowed but his ears were alert. he would listen. “you have one week to find someone to date you publicly.”
what.
the look on his face must’ve said everything because after a beat the person spoke again. “all of us here agree that finding a romantic partner - whether just for public eye or not, we don’t care - would do you well in your ranking. showing another softer side would make fans sympathize with you more and assist with the more … negative views of your heroism.”
Katsuki scowled. he didn’t do soft. he was katsuki fucking bakugou, soon to be number one hero in japan - in the world. but he also knew when his PR team spoke up and gave him a deadline he had to comply. wasn’t allowed to disagree. he’d tried before.
a few more minutes went by with mindless agreement of his arrangement. he would have to find someone to pretend to court him or whatever. because like hell was he going to force himself on blind dates until he fell in love in under a week. he would fall in love right. slowly. and under his own terms.
katsuki pushed open the door to the meeting room silently, ready to go back to his desk and finish his stupid ass paperwork so he could get back out there.
there seemed to be a commotion though in the office space. and when red eyes fell on big, wide, green ones, he was almost sure his heart had plummeted past his stomach and out his ass.
how else was katsuki supposed to react seeing izuku midoriya, his childhood friend turned enemy turned rival turned what are we? turned agency assigned partner turned fuck you im leaving for america for five years and not telling you shit and hey by the way i’m back now??
what the fuck.

"The Caretaker's Keeper" (1).
Summary: Based on a prompt from GoofyBoss about All for One hiring Izuku as a caretaker for his brother.
Trigger warnings: Trigger warnings: child abandonment, swearing, All for One being his usual creepy, possessive self, implied/referenced murder, and implied self-harm - nothing graphic but please don't risk your mental health to read this. I'm always more than happy to give people a TL;DR if they're curious and want to avoid triggering topics.
Chapter 1
--
Izuku taps a pen to his bottom lip, thinking. Some would say looking through the newspaper for jobs was old fashioned, but usually the job offers put out into the paper didn’t ask for much information on the person they’re hiring.
The last job he got was as a delivery person, though he still doesn’t know what he delivered from one side of the city to the other. And he doesn’t want to know. His employer for that particular job kept to themselves and only spoke to Izuku long enough to, one, give vague threats to not tell anyone, and two, to give Izuku a wad of cash. Which helped pay for groceries for the upcoming week.
Ever since his deadbeat father left them, citing some excuse about “needing to find himself,” because “Izuku is clearly not his,” his poor mom has had to take on extra shifts at her job at the local hospital, as well as picking up a second job as a receptionist for a dental office.
It makes him unspeakably angry.
How was it fair that his father could continue his life, unbothered, when both his mom and Izuku were struggling to get by?
They downsized, moving from the apartment he knew all his life to a one-bedroom apartment on the sketchier side of the city. His mom tried to give him the bedroom, but he couldn’t bring himself to take his mom’s last comfort away from her. She thought the same way, just in the opposite direction, so they compromised. On the days she had to work a double, Izuku could have the bed (at least on the doubles she worked overnight). And on the nights, she was home, Izuku would refuse to step foot in the bedroom (lest his mom somehow convince him to take the bed, while she took the floor or couch). She needed rest, and Izuku would be damned if he didn’t make sure she got it.
Even worse than being forced to relocate from his childhood home-and maybe this is childish of him-was him having to sell his merch collection. His mom didn’t ask that of him, but at the time he hadn’t been able to work (being only eleven).
He felt useless (just as Kacchan always said he was).
So, he decided to pawn anything of value.
He still attends Aldera, though now he has to get up even earlier and ride the city bus. The other kids make fun of him - thankfully (and he uses that word loosely) still only for his quirklessness. Either they have no idea he’s been knocked down a class or two, or they don’t care about that.
Kacchan, to his credit, has backed off (to some extent). But every so often he’ll corner Izuku, and do his usual spiel on all the ways Izuku's useless, worthless, and can’t possibly become a hero.
And, while it hurts to admit, Izuku agrees with him.
Not because he’s quirkless, but because even if he does get in, he won’t be able to afford to attend. There are scholarships, but none of them would be nearly enough. So, he spares himself the emotional pain of almost making it (or being straight-up rejected), and applies to an affordable, normal-enough highschool closer to their apartment.
After school, he browses through the daily newspaper, circling and highlighting jobs that look somewhat legit. He might be desperate, but he would very much like to not be kidnapped by some creep and kept in a basement.
“Huh, caretaker?” Izuku briefly skims the listing. It looks….simple enough.
He highlights the phone number.

Mikumo Atakani crosses off yet another name. He sighs heavily, leaning back in his swivel chair. How hard is it to find someone that is both authoritative enough to take care of his hard-headed little brother and pliant enough to do whatever he says?
A knock on his office door shakes him from his reverie.
He straightens up. “Come in,” he orders.
One of his minions-some nobody with a flexibility quirk-steps into his office. “Hello, master, another applicant for the job posting you put out is here.”
“Well? Bring them in. I don’t have all day.”
The minion nods frantically. It’s so fun to see them get so worked up. He hadn’t even threatened him.
A young boy with curly, green hair and green eyes is pushed into his office before the doors are once again shut.
“H-hello, sir.”
It might be rude of Mikumo, but he can’t stop staring at the boy in front of him. There’s something about him….
He snaps back to reality, realizing the boy is staring at him. He coughs to disguise his moment of absentmindedness. “Hello…..”
The boy trembles a little, fidgeting with his hands. “Midoriya Izuku….sir.”
He chuckles. “Let’s chat, Midoriya Izuku.”
-x-x-x-
Izuku is sure he has the wrong address. The house is about twenty miles outside the city, and has a tall wrought-iron gate surrounding the premises. There’s even a tower overlooking everything with people carrying weapons of all sorts.
His gut twists.
But his mom needs the money. And this job might even help her be able to quit her receptionist job. He knows she hates it there. Her boss is overtly misogynistic, and her coworkers are cruel. He’s heard her cry herself to sleep enough for a lifetime.
Izuku needs to do this. He owes it to the woman who has raised him (and continues to whenever she has the time).
He approaches the gate, still wearing his backpack (the only bus that could bring him this far ran twice a day - once at three in the afternoon, and once at ten at night). He at least remembered a change of clothes, so he doesn’t have to show up in his high school uniform. Though, his button-up dress shirt (the one thing his father forgot in his haste to abandon their family) and black slacks that he has to roll up to keep from stepping on the ends, aren’t much of an improvement. Especially when he still has his red sneakers on.
Someone shoves a gun in his face. “Identify yourself!”
“I-Izuku Midoriya! I called earlier about the job posting.” He holds his hands in front of his chest, trying desperately not to look at the gun dangerously close to his head.
The guard eyes him, muttering something into his com. They stand there for a moment, eyeing each other, before a garble reply comes through.
“Let him in.”
He’s led to a set of double, extra-tall, doors. The guard who accosted him outside confiscated his bag, so he has nothing on him. He was reassured by the person leading him inside that he would get it back after the interview.
The person-a much kinder-looking man with hair the color of a campfire-knocks on the door.
Idly, Izuku wonders what kind of quirk the man has. Something fire related? Those weren’t particularly rare. Hell, his own father has one.
Before he can ask, Izuku is pulled into the office. The person whispers good luck to him, scampering off.
A man behind a large oak desk. He’s…..
….tall.
Very tall, and suddenly, all the high shelves and doorways make sense.
“Hello, sir,” he says.
But the man just continues to stare at him.
Did he do something wrong? He fidgets with his hands - a nervous habit he’s never been able to break.
Finally, he speaks. “Hello…” The man raises an eyebrow, obviously expecting Izuku to introduce himself.
Oops! How could Izuku be so stupid!
He stands straight, forcing his arms to his sides. “Midoriya Izuku…..sir.”
The man leans in, the corners of his mouth uptick into a small smile. “Let’s chat, Midoriya Izuku.”
Izuku nods, staying put.
“Take a seat,” the man says, motioning to a chair in front of his desk.
“O-of course, sir.”
The minute he takes a seat, the man is back to staring at him in silence. Which makes Izuku feel a little awkward, but he’s not in any position to say so. He squirms in the chair.
“How old are you, Izuku-Kun?” He asks, which is a little forward. Most people don’t just use first names during a first meeting, but once again Izuku can’t say anything about it.
At least it’s better than Deku.
“Fifteen, sir. I’ll be sixteen in July.”
The man nods, jotting something down on the paper in front of him. “And what about your family? Tell me about them.”
Izuku clamps up. This person seems….very powerful. What if he messes up and they hurt his mom?
“You can trust me, Izuku-Kun. I only ask because the position requires you to take care of a family member of mine.”
That eases Izuku up just the tiniest bit. “I’m an only child and live with my mom.”
“No one else…?”
“No- uh…uh my father…he’s not around.” Izuku fights back the tears. One would think, after four years of this, he would be used to it. He isn’t.
If the man notices him tearing up, he says nothing. “Okay, and two more questions. One, what’s your quirk?”
In a voice more befitting for a mouse than a fifteen-year-old, Izuku says, “I’m….uh…quirkless.”
The man looks at him strangely-not the way others do (which is usually a mix of disgust and pity)-but in a way that indicates interest.
“Oh?”
“I-is that going to be a problem?”
“No.” The answer comes without hesitation. “I was simply curious. Last question, what made you want to apply?”
Izuku squirms. The chair he sits in dwarfs him, as does everything else in this house. It makes him feel….small.
He takes time to process what the man asked.
Why did he want to apply for this job? It was one of many job postings in the daily paper, there had been no information on what benefits he would be receiving, nor pay or the duration of how long he was to work. Just a small blurb about needing a “caretaker” and a phone number.
He took it on a whim.
He applied because someone hiring out for a caretaker likely has some money, and not the kind that’s handed off to him in a off-white envelope.
He applied because they’re short five hundred for this month’s rent (partially due to being short last month), and their landlord is starting to run out of patience.
He applied because his mom routinely works seventy-two hours straight with less than two hours of sleep.
“I didn’t want to apply, sir,” he says, summoning the courage to look the man in the eyes.
“Really now?”
“I needed to apply.”
“Do go on.”
Izuku takes that as permission to continue. “To put it bluntly, my mom works herself nearly to death to provide for us both. I find work where I can, but there’s not many places hiring a quirkless teen. Or a quirkless person in general.”
The man nods. “Family-oriented, good. Hypothetically speaking, what would you do if your mom was a danger to herself, or something was a danger to her?”
Izuku hums. It’s an odd question for sure, but he likes abstract questions (even if this particular one is kind of upsetting). “I suppose I would have to lock her in a room without sharp objects and padding on the walls. At least until the danger passed.”
“And what if it didn’t?”
“Then…I guess, she would stay there until it did. She’s all I have.”
The man smiles at him. “Hired.”
Izuku perks up, edging closer to the desk. “Really!?” In his excitement, his volume goes up more than is strictly necessary. He clears his throat. “Sorry, I got a little excited there.”
“That’s quite alright. I’d rather have someone be over-eager than someone reluctant.” He grabs a pile of papers off his desk, handing it over to Izuku. “Now, we’ll go over rules and expectations, as well as benefits and pay.”
Izuku looks over the papers.
“Starting with your pay. A thousand per day, but that can be more or less depending on the mood my…family member is in.”
That- that would be enough to cover rent, and that’s just for a single day? He finally processes the man’s last sentence.
“What does the last thing you said mean?”
“Well, my family member is….let’s just say finicky. He’s prone to going on hunger strikes, and trying to escape his room.” The man fixes Izuku with a serious expression. “Under no circumstances, are you to allow him to leave his room. Failure to comply with that rule will result in severe punishment. Failure to get him to eat a meal will result in lost wages. Three hundred per meal not eaten, so it would be in your best interest to make sure he eats.”
That certainly didn’t sound pleasant. But a thousand dollars a day…..
“Understood, sir.”
“What’s the soonest you can be here?”
“The bus runs at three, so probably four? And the last bus leaves around ten at night.”
“Hm. Well, I guess 4:15 to 9:45 is decent enough coverage.” He jots some more stuff on the paper. “Can you start today?”
-x-x-x-
Mikumo can’t believe his luck! This kid-Izuku-couldn’t be more perfect to help care for his stubborn little brother.
Yoichi may not take kindly to his goons. They’re Mikumo’s mouthpieces, there only to force him to eat, change his clothes, or go to sleep. But Izuku is different. Sure, he will be under Mikumo’s control (otherwise suffer the consequences), but knowing his brother, he’ll overlook that.
Oh, he’ll still try the same tired tricks. Things like, trying to make the guard feel bad. Or threatening to harm himself (ways in which he does so has varied throughout the two hundred years Yoichi’s been under his care). There has even been a time or two that he’s played dead.
Mikumo’s ashamed to say he’s fallen for that trick both times.
He exits the elevator taking them nearly a thousand meters below ground. After his brother escaped (with help) the last time, he’s been forced to take more “extreme” measures.
Clearly just keeping his brother in a vault in their basement wasn’t enough.
While designing this house, he made sure to make the vault deeper underground. And the only way to enter or exit is via elevator which is monitored closely, and the corridor is lined with motion-sensor cameras.
They stand before the vault door. It’s reinforced steel with tungsten in the very middle. Strong and will definitely stand up to any vigilantes, or heroes that may, or may not want to kick it open.
“Here we are,” he says, entering the necessary code into the panel. He then puts his thumb on the scanner. “I’ll have to give you the code and enter your prints into the system before you leave.”
The boy nods. His bright green eyes go between him and the door.
Awww, Mikumo thinks, opening the door the rest of the way. He’s nervous.
He ushers Izuku inside, lest his little brother get the drop on them and escape.
“Little brother,” he calls, shutting the door behind them. “I found you a new caregiver.”
The room is nicely furnished, at least in comparison to the last vault. Mostly due to the fact that he isn’t ever going to let Yoichi leave here. And he kind of likes his brother not being totally and utterly insane.
There’s a twin bed in the corner of the room, with a small nightstand right beside it. A desk for writing or drawing (when his idiot of a brother isn’t threatening self-harm), a bookshelf filled with books, and various supplies for arts and crafts (all of which Mikumo has to be present for, though now that could extend to Izuku if all goes well). There’s also a full bathroom in a connected room.
Izuku, whether he means to or not, clings to his side. He kind of reminds Mikumo of a frightened rabbit, or a little duckling (what, with his fluffy hair, wide, innocent eyes, and skittish demeanor).
His brother finally pops up from underneath the bed.
Izuku screams, jolting backwards.
Instantly, Yoichi is scrambling for the kid. He waves his hands frantically. “Ohmygoodness-”
“Little brother,” Mikumo says, pleased to be able to lure him out.
Yoichi fixes him with a sour look. “What do you want?”
“As I said, I hired a new caregiver.” He pulls Izuku closer to him by his shirt collar. “Introduce yourself,” he orders.
Izuku is still trembling but does as Mikumo says. “Midoriya Izuku.”
His brother tilts his head, hair falling over one of his eyes. “How old are you?”
Izuku looks up at him-and, oh, this one is definitely a keeper. He hands over control so easily. He’s practically wet sand, just waiting to be formed into something magnificent-and he nods his approval.
“I’m fifteen, sir.”
Yoichi’s eyes soften. “You-you’re so young.” He turns to Mikumo, snarling. “How dare you hire a child!”
“But I needed this job,” Izuku pipes up before Mikumo can defend himself. “My mom and I were going to be evicted if I didn’t find a better paying job.”
Once again, his little brother softens. “Oh.”
Mikumo claps his hands. “This is fun. I should warn you, though, Izuku-Kun, my little brother, isn't usually this well composed. Actually I don’t think I’ve heard him say anything besides vulgarities since his first escape attempt.”
“Fuck you, Mikumo.”
“Ah, and there he is.” He looks at Izuku. “Don’t take it to heart. I’m afraid it’s just his way of getting back at the world for making him so frail.” He pointedly ignores Yoichi’s indignant huff. “Anyways,” he starts, ushering Izuku towards the door, “I still need to put you in the system, give you the codes and keys relevant to your job, and show you how to get to and from the kitchen.”
“Wait!” His brother calls out, arm outstretched.
Mikumo pauses. “Izuku-Kun will be here every day from four to nine. I have a meeting to attend to after I send him off, but I’ll be sure to bring dinner down before bedtime.”
“Brother-”
The door shuts and locks.
-x-x-x-
“It’s not too late to quit,” his boss’ brother murmurs. “
“Are you finished with your dinner?” He asks, only taking the plate once he receives a nod.
His boss told Izuku over and over that any attempt to help his brother outside of assigned tasks would be punished with garnished wages.
His mom had been so happy when she found a thousand dollars stashed in her purse. Hiding money in her stuff is the only way to make her accept it. She eyed him suspiciously but asked no questions. They even had enough to put towards the debt they had slowly been gathering since the day his father abandoned them.
Izuku, even though it hurts to see Yoichi’s (the name he insisted on being called. Though, he only refers to him as such in his head. His boss might get angry otherwise) downcast expression whenever he refuses to engage, cannot afford to lose out on that money. His mom’s happiness and their precarious financial situation depend on it.
“Why are you being so cold?” Yoichi asks.
“I’m sorry.”
“If you’re really sorry, then please, just talk to me.”
Izuku puts the tray of dirty dishes on the desk. He’ll take them to the kitchen to be washed before he leaves. He makes eye contact with the camera in the corner of the room. He feels bad for Yoichi. His every move is recorded and meticulously controlled.
It’s easier to ignore his pleas than to indulge them.
“It’s time to take your meds.”
“I understand you want to help your mother. That’s admirable, but my brother will only take advantage of that kindness.”
Izuku stares at him.
He sighs, bowing his head. “I left them in the bathroom. Can you fetch them for me?”
Finally, something that doesn’t involve pretending to be a robot. His emotions are frayed and he’s had to bite back tears twenty times just in the past hour. Which is one time more than usual.
He goes to the bathroom and flips on the light. There’s no mirror, or anything pointy. One of his jobs is to check and make sure none of the items in Yoichi’s room have been made into weapons.
There is, however, a wooden cabinet in place of the mirror. He goes to check inside when he’s shoved to the floor. He thankfully doesn’t hit his head on the toilet or bathtub, but his back aches when he sits up. He hears the door shut.
Yoichi and he make eye contact.
“Wha-”
“Shut up,” Yoichi demands. His tone is not unkind, but it also brings about a sense of impatient urgency. “We don’t have much time. I can play this off as me helping you find my medicine, but anything over five minutes will be suspicious.”
He offers Izuku his hand, which is accepted without a second thought.
When he checks Izuku over and sees he has no serious injuries, he continues on. “I apologize for pushing you, but I couldn’t risk you running away. I understand money is important, but it certainly can't be worth this.”
“My mom….her happiness is worth everything to me.”
“And that comes at the cost of what? Becoming a villain?”
Izuku wrinkles his nose. “I’m not a villain,” he protests.
“You like heroes, right?”
The change in direction throws Izuku for a loop. His obsession with heroes never really ended, but it’s been hard to keep up on the different battles and debuts. “They’re okay.”
Yoichi gives him a knowing smile. “Your words say one thing, but the light in your eyes when I asked you said another.”
He frowns. “It doesn’t matter. I’ll never be a hero regardless.”
“Never say never.”
Izuku opens his mouth, confused beyond belief, and is immediately interrupted by the sound of the vault door being slammed open. It bangs against the wall.
“Little brother! Izuku-Kun!” He hears his boss call out.
“All is not lost,” Yoichi murmurs, before grabbing the necessary meds out of his pocket and opening the door. “In here, brother. We were looking for my medicine.”
Izuku stands in the bathroom, processing what just happened.
-x-x-x-
“I like your eyes,” his boss compliments.
It’s out of the blue, but it seems innocuous enough. “Thank you, boss,” he chirps. Better to be overly eager than reluctant, right?
His boss laughs a little at that. “Do you get them from your mom, or dad?”
Izuku shifts in his seat, pausing his homework. Yoichi had (what his boss calls) a temper tantrum earlier, so he’s still under the effects of a sedative. A baby monitor sits on the corner of his boss’ desk, so they can tell when he’s awake.
“Um, mom, I think. But her’s are darker and her pupils are black.”
“And your father?”
“I never looked into my father’s eyes, sir.”
His boss sighs, chin resting on his hands. “That’s a shame.”
“What the-”
“Ah, someone’s awake,” his boss says, snatching up the baby monitor. “You can bring his lunch down when you go.”
“Yes, sir.” Izuku shuffles his homework back into his bag. With his boss’ permission, he keeps it hidden in the closet in his office.
“Oh, and Izuku-Kun?”
He freezes in place. “Yes?”
“If I ever catch you being caught off guard by my brother again, you won’t like the consequence that follows.”
Izuku clenches his hands into fists.
“Yes, sir,” he says. “It was my mistake.”
“Good boy.”
-x-x-x-
Izuku is shaking with unbridled anger the whole way down. He does his best to act composed, as the cameras capture everything. But no matter how big he smiles, the tray in his hand still shakes ever so slightly, sloshing the soup.
His boss had really said “good boy” to him. Like- like he’s a dog that’s learned a new trick.
Yoichi is sitting at his desk when he enters the room. A book older than Izuku’s grandparents sits nestled in his hands. “I’ve brought food.”
“I see that, thank you, Izu.”
He feels some of the residual anger slide off him. The nickname reminds him of his mom. “I made sure the cooks left out the cilantro this time.”
Yoichi makes a face. “Thanks. Big brother always forgets how much I hate that.”
He watches Yoichi eat his lunch, standing-as instructed-next to his desk. The food smells amazing and Yoichi seems like a good conversationalist, but his boss is already upset at him enough.
Besides, he really doesn’t want to know what someone like him considers a severe consequence.
“You look upset, Izu,” Yoichi says, stacking his dishes. “Did my brother dig into you about the whole bathroom-thing?”
“Yes, but it was nothing I couldn’t take. My one and only gripe was him being overly condescending.”
“That’s his natural state, though.”
The noise Izuku makes fighting back laughter can barely be classified as human. He hides his mouth behind his hands and turns from the camera. After feeling so humiliated it’s nice that, at the very least, Yoichi has his back.
“I won’t do that again,” Yoichi promises him. “I wouldn’t want you to get in trouble. Big brother has a tendency to overreact.
And isn’t that an oversimplification. His boss is one incident away from making Izuku into a pair of leather boots. But he has no energy to argue (not that he could if he wanted to), so he nods at Yoichi, makes sure his desk is cleaned up, and moves to the next activity.
-x-x-x-
“You like him.”
All for One-his brother in only blood-stands before him. He wears his usual smug smile. It annoys Yoichi to no end that trying to punch him only ends with being sedated. He misses when they were kids, and he was a whole head taller than his older brother.
It had been easier to deal with him then, even if Yoichi had been extremely sickly and weak.
“Why? Because I’m cooperating?” He pretends to read his book, scanning the words more than reading them. His brother has always been particular in how Yoichi responds to people. More specifically, his brother hates when he likes someone more than him (which isn’t hard but the last time he was honest about not hating one of his caregivers, his brother “fired” them on the spot. Yoichi looks at the reddish-brown spot he tried so hard to scrub out on the carpet). It’s better that he plays it safe.
“Yes and no. It's a combination of many things. You cooperate: eating your food with a fuss, taking your meds, and even making your bed. The latter of which you haven’t done since we were kids. Not to mention the one sided conversations you get into with the boy.”
Yoichi puts his book down. “Please, don’t punish the kid for that. I get lonely, and he’s been following your stupid rules to the letter.”
“I’m aware. Wasn’t planning on punishing anyone, though if you want to continue to insult the rules and structure I put in place, then I might reconsider that-”
“No! No, please don’t. I’m sorry.”
All for One chuckles, tilting his head to the side. “You do like the boy.”
“He’s just so….young. I still don’t like that you’ve hired a child, but….”
“But?” His brother presses.
“But as long as he’s here, I will do everything in my power to make sure he’s safe. He needs someone to look out for him.”
“Like a big brother?”
“Like a big- wait, no.”
His brother looks amused. “It’s fine. Now, if you thought of him as an older brother, then we would have some issues. But Izuku-Kun is still younger than the age I gave you that immortality quirk. He’s no threat to me. And, if I’m honest, I find myself growing fond of the boy.” His brother sighs. “He reminds me of you.”
Yoichi hunches into himself. “But he isn’t me, big brother.” He doesn’t like where this is going.
“No, no he isn’t. But he has all the qualities.”
“Please, fire him if you must.”
“Why would I fire him? I just said I’m fond of him.” All for One hums, reaching out to stroke his face with his thumb. “You always used to complain about being the youngest in the family.”
Yoichi fights back tears. He promised himself a long time ago-after his boyfriend had been brutally murdered by his brother-that he would never, ever give him the satisfaction of seeing him cry. To see him weak and needy.
“Leave him alone. He has a mother who loves him.”
“Does she?” He pulls away, and Yoichi instantly feels the tension in his body relax. “He has to give all his earnings to her, when he should be saving them so he can attend college.”
He bristles. “Because they’re dirt poor!? Don’t act like you don’t remember the days when we were poorer than that!”
“I remember those days well,” his brother answers him in a calm tone, which only makes Yoichi even angrier. “But if you’ll remember, I never once put that burden on you. It was I, your caregiver, that shouldered that responsibility.”
“It should have been on mom’s and dad’s shoulders.”
His brother ducks his head, before looking at Yoichi once again. He doesn’t smile when he says, “maybe they should have. Which is why it's hard for me to see someone so young and so full of life being put in a similar situation. I look into that boy’s eyes and see-”
“Me?”
“Myself,” his brother finishes. “I see you in his eyes and his mannerism, but I must admit, I see myself more often than not.”
“And you think holding onto him will do what? Solve all our childhood trauma? Newsflash, Izuku-Kun isn’t you! He isn’t me! He’s his own person, who has a mother whom he loves very much!”
“I know that.”
“Do you?”
“I do,” his brother snaps, patience evidently wearing thin. “I simply wish for him to have a better upbringing than we had.”
“He’s fifteen.”
His brother shrugs. “My decision is final. I’m lifting the conversation ban, and you’ll be responsible for helping him complete his homework. He will still be in charge of making sure you behave and follow my rules, but I will allow you two to converse.”
“How thoughtful,” Yoichi snarks, head in hands.
His brother heads for the door. “Oh, and I shouldn’t have to tell you, I’m always listening.” They both look towards the camera, always recording in the corner of the room. “Breathe a word of this conversation to him, or try to warn him in any way, and you won’t like what happens.”
Yoichi watches his brother open the door in mute horror.
“Sleep well, little brother. I love you very much.”
The door shuts and locks, leaving Yoichi in stunned, horrified silence.

Your points on Stain were great. I've always said that the guy was crazy and a total loser. He was just killing people for not being All Might. Not pointing out corruption. Not exposing anyone. Not hunting down the most horrible corrupt heroes. No. If they aren't All Might, then he decides you need to die. His logic is also very self-serving. He can justify hurting you if you happen upon him murdering someone and you decide to leave. And if you intervene, he's also justified in hurting you. Like many MHA foes, Stain was created as an enemy for Izuku to fight. But the implications of him being allowed to exist at all shows that he didn't achieve much of anything, despite what the narrative tells us. Imagine someone in real life calling themselves the cop killer and they kill dozens of cops and wound twice that number. An enormous manhunt would have them converged on and killed within a week, at most. In MHA, though? Nothing. They put Endeavor on the job and business continued as usual. Despite the sheer resources hero society has, a mass hero murderer wasn't worth an exhaustive manhunt where they either have this guy's corpse or drag him away in chains. From a story perspective, this had to happen this way because Izuku needs to fight this guy. In universe, though? It proves that heroes are disposable and replaceable commodities, and that the system is very adept at churning out new ones. It doesn't matter at all that Stain killed or maimed these people so they can't return to work. The hero schools will graduate plenty more of them every year. In fact, given that UA alone graduates 40 heroes a year, Stain could kill 1 hero a week and still not make a real dent in the hero population. Every other hero school would be graduating a similar number of people, after all.
But really, it's the government that he had a problem with. You could blame heroes for being false or corrupt or whatever. But who lets people become heroes with zero questions as to their motivations? Who lets hero schools graduate people that are unfit? Who bases all the tests and exams on becoming a hero around combat and brute force? Who's responsible for all the propaganda that markets heroes to children to convince them that being a hero is a path to wealth, happiness, adoration, and success? Who decides who even gets to be a hero in the first place? The government does. The entire crop of current heroes are just a symptom of a system that has no quality control or real restrictions on who can become a hero. He should have been murdering politicians, and rich people. They're the ones who control these policies and ensure things stay the way they are. They create the status quo. I like Stain only in fanfics, where Dabi meets him before Shigaraki. At the very least Stain can be used to go after Endeavor to help out with Dabi's revenge. This is the one time him attacking someone is somewhat justified. And it makes for a very interesting what if. As far as your point about corrupt heroes, I wish this series had that much depth. Take this post here. https://www.tumblr.com/djunk411/161410092505/its-now-canon-that-midnight-wanted-to-become-a It's got panels from the spin off where Midnight explains she wanted to be a predator and that's why she's a teacher, and Shota doesn't care. We're meant to see this as a joke! But what if it wasn't?
I think the point is with Stain, actually, just goes back to one of the big things that kind of fucks up MHA's world building: civilians are useless.
Unless you are directly connected to a villain or hero, if you are a civilian you are a useless sheep, who exists only to be saved or to cause problems. This includes the police; as a society, all the responsibility is just... given to the heroes somehow, for some reason, and everyone's fine with it. No none villain hates that status quo, not one really rejects it....
And to top it off? We see civilians try to do things once. With some support gear? They're so criminally incompetent that they kill themselves with it, and Wash, I think, is left to mourn over the foolishness of the people.
Hori just really seems to hate having to have normal people in his story in any length of time, so it's not surprising that the police are completely useless. To be fair, though, Stain is, as far as we can tell, completely off the grid. He is the kind of fanatic that is willing to live with nothing, and so it's probably hard to track him.
Except. Where does he get his literal arsenal of weapons? (And five seconds on Google tells me that katanas are illegal in Japan, so.... there's that too) How does he successfully find his targets? Or is he just randomly hunting down every hero he can find in a given area? How long has he even been doing this?
*shrug*
Stain just doesn't make sense. The idea of him makes sense, there's a place for him in the setting, and he needs to be there to help drive the division with heroes and the rest of society to the point of breaking, but his execution is empty and hollow.
It says... something, that when you said talked about the government, my knee jerk response was, 'Well, Hori is limited by his medium', but... that's bullshit.
Like, look at Jujutsu Kaisen. Though I hate the pacing of it in general, and I have trouble giving a shit about the characters at this point, I really do like it, and it handles politics a lot better than MHA.
The thing is that while the blame is clearly on these old fuckers, who for all intents and purpose are the government of the magical part of the setting, there isn't a giant focus on them. We don't need to see, like, hours of debate to realize that these guys are the problem: there's some scenes of them being, well, them, and then we see the repercussions of what they decide throughout the series. We see Gojo hate on them. We see Itadori all but getting a kill order. We hear about how fucked up the Zenin clan is, and how they've ruined the lives of multiple characters.
I wish they'd go into all of that more, sure, but it's made very clear that a lot of the problems comes from the top, and descends down from them to everyone else, which resonates with various people, and from them to other people and so on.
Contrast that with MHA: we see some references to the Hero Commision, sure, but beyond Hawks and Lady Nagant, there isn't much there, and even with them there's just... build up, and no development. We get hints, we're teased, but it never... goes anywhere. This is the greatest level of authority we honestly see in the entire setting, until our brief, standard manga blurb of how the U.S. is useless, anyways. I think we literally see more of the American government than we do of the government of the country the setting is set in.
Here's the thing: the way MHA is set up? Heroes have a lot of influence. They're super celebrated celebrities, they're almost universally loved (unless they aren't), if they're successful they're rich, and they can kick all sorts of ass. If a hero wanted to push a social agenda? They're in one of the best places to do it, and there's honestly some good plot points there that never get any love; what happens when they do that? What if a hero supports a politician, and thus gets control over them, and through them, the government? That would be a realistic place to explore about heroes influence on society.
The way they talk, though, is like they are the government. Like All Might is the Prime Minister, and so on, and so they all have this massive control over things. And, again, they do have a lot of control, but they aren't actually writing the laws. Civilians are placid cow people because heroes save them, but... do you not want heroes to save them? Should they just leave people to die so they can toughen up or something, learn to be independent? Their job is to save people, everyone wants it from them, they're literally being paid to do it, and I really can't blame them for not being total assholes and doing their actual jobs. The blame for everything falls onto the heroes, with how the manga shows it, but they aren't gods, they aren't the overlords of the setting; it falls onto everyone else as well, the cattle-like civilians, the insane villains, the government who set up the system, all of them.
I just... it just looks like Hori didn't want to deal with the fact that his heroes, building smashing, laser firing heroes, would be subservient to the people, and especially to the government. He didn't want god-like All Might, or Endeavour, or anyone else really, to have to obey mere mortals, who should only exist to be saved or harmed by their betters without any control over their ultimate destinies.
And again, this is something Jujutsu explores better, with Gojo: he's no All Might, personality wise, but he's absolutely the strongest in the setting, literally hailed a god. And yet, he listens to some old guys he could blow up with a finger, because they have control over so much of the world he lives in. This is acknowledged, and talked about in story, but he never goes through and slaughters them like he so easily could, because while he's a bit of an ass at times he's still genuinely a good person at the end of the day. While I don't expect All Might to have delusions of godhood, wouldn't it be interesting if they explored how all these people who are getting trained to beat the shit out of everyone they don't like, and are constantly growing stronger generation by generation while getting all the more revered by the public, but have to listen to some weaklings? At least in Jujutsu, the elders actually have powers in their own right, and are often talented combatants, and so have that implicit ability to back their decisions against most of the setting with force if necessary, while in MHA, politicians are still just politicians, nothing more.
*looks at the Meta Liberation Front, who want a Quirkocity, and who canonly already has heroes on their side*
Nope, no way to work that into the story!
On Midnight, I just... I just can't take that seriously. I know this is technically canon, but I really can't, I really can't think she's both a hero and school teacher with an attitude like that, who genuinely wants the best for her students. Whenever I imagine Midnight as something closer to an actual person, she's so much less.... that. All I can think of is just how Hori loves to use women constantly for their bodies, and she's just a symbol of that. The fact that she literally exists just because he thinks she's hot, is built off the idea of bondage, and almost has no characterization beyond that is just insulting.

Hi could I request a scenario on Yandere Deku who wants his quirkless darling to keep their side of their childhood promise , of marrying him when their older better yet when he comes a pro hero~ ;)
Tumblr media
Izuku wasn't made to be who he ended up being. When you held his hand as he wiped away the tears, holding your knees close to your chest and watching him shake, and cry in frustration. You didn't know what to say, what could you say, really? Both of you were the same. But you didn't hurt the same.
Because you never aspired to be something you weren't- never aspired to be a hero. For years. You've watched him suffer at the hands of people born with privilege he could never have, falling time and time again, from explosions, or brute force.
It made you sick. It made you angry when he cries. It made you fuckin enraged when he fell apart and yet stood right back up and tried to climb the hill, pushing a boulder which continuously kept rolling over him and yet he showed no hesitation. He tries, and he tries, and he tries and it's just infuriating to watch.
It made your blood boil in a way you didn't understand.
You couldn't say anything. You just sat there. Holding his hand, rubbing soft circles in an attempt to reassure him. There's nothing you could say with yelling. Without destroying the only relationship you had in this town.
But it was tedious. It felt like deja vu, something looping over and over.
So when Bakugou makes Izuku's day a hell once more. You didn't feel so patient. You didn't feel so happy. You didn't feel like dealing with their Tom and Jerry bullshit. So when Bakugou's hand threatened with sparks and attempted to ruin Izuku's hearing and the wall behind him, you stepped in.
And slammed your fist into his open heating palm.
Your skin smelled burnt. You could hear the confused 'huh?' that rang from behind you. Maybe it was the anger, or the adrenaline itself, but it didn't bother you. Suddenly it didn't matter how much hurt you were in, because you could hear your heart pounding in your ears. Your growl surprised Bakugou himself. "You..."
Your eyes narrowed at him with fire he'd never noticed before. You'd usually stay out of his way, "You disgust me."
"Hah?" He barred his teeth at you. "When did you grow a spine, you useless quirkless bitch?"
"When will you decide to get over yourself and find an opponent your own size?" He gripped your fist in his palm and pulled you close, You could feel his palm heating up against your skin.
"You fucking dare?" He laughed, it almost made you kick him so hard your shoe would get stuck up his ass. "You think you can actually fight me?"
"No." You said simply, taking him back, "I don't care about fighting you, Katsuki. I don't care about your obvious need to feel superior because you're ultimately insecure and afraid of failure. I don't care about your problems, and I don't care that we used to be friends when we were kids and that I had the actual stupidity to believe you'd change."
His face dropped into nonchalance.
It almost surprised you that he didn't pummel you into the ground. It would have been less surprising had he slapped you and told you he loved you. Instead, he turned around and muttered underneath his breath. "Fuck off."
When he had gone, you finally turned to meet the eyes of the whimpering pathetic boy behind you. "And you."
"I--"
"Shut up Izuku. Shut up. I can't stand being there with you any longer. I can't stand seeing you speak of all the things you wanted to so loudly and facing the fucking repercussions-- Guess what Izuku?! WE'RE QUIRKLESS! If you want to shout to the rooftops how you want to be a hero, don't be surprised if someone pushes you off it. People don't like different. You want to be different?"
"Yea..."
"Then don't whine about it when people react." You walked close, leaning in to meet his crying eyes. "I didn't promise I would marry this. This whimpering, teary, pathetic mess. GROW UP. I promised I would marry you. This is not you. This is not someone I want to have a future with."
That was the last time you talked to him. It was a day before the sludge monster attacked. It was mere hours before everything changed. You weren't sure if it were for the best; A thought that occurred through the years as you watched him grow into a hero. A symbol of change.
Then it felt right, that someone so amazing and dedicated, so understanding, was the top hero. It was something you certainly found satisfaction in, watching Dynamight angrily compete yet work so well with his previous victim, and save people for a change.
It was good. It was for the best.
It was certainly for the best when you were caught in the crossfire. When you felt your body being swallowed by the form of the villain, who carelessly threw people into the street, blood and bodies filled the streets, and suddenly you thought it was good that he was here.
That his hands were holding you tightly by your waist, ripping you from the suffocating envelopment of that quirk, you felt incredibly lucky to clutch onto his shoulder, wrap your arms around his neck and catch the faint scent of your old friend. For the momentarily blind person that you were, the comfort was involuntary. You hated yourself for it. You leaned in anyways.
Recovering your eyesight was a blessing. Until of course, you were met with the green shining eyes of the man who saved you. The man whose eyes sparkled when he saw yours, and you could tell something was off.
He defeated the villain with you in his arms. You didn't speak. He didn't put you down. The ambulance tended to your quiet self while the number one hero looked at you, up and down, eyes raving your form and then meeting your eyes.
And a smile.
You hadn't talked to him. You had insulted him and left. You had been his only friend.
He had been your saviour. Now your chest aches and his smile. His smile makes your skin explode in goosebumps. Perhaps it was because of how reassuring it was.
How genuine.
"Are you okay?"
His voice interrupted your thoughts. "Huh?"
Izuku's smile was soft, concerned. "Are you okay? God, it's been so long." You almost cringed away from his touch, surprised at how easily his hands reached over and ran over your cheek, almost naturally to him.
You moved slightly away from him. "Yeah.."
He sighed, you could see the flash of disappointment that crossed his face."Can we... talk?"
You frowned. You really didn't want to, the cringe of merely thinking about what sitting down to have that conversation would be like, making you even more unwilling. Then his eyes met yours, and shining hope in them made you purse your lips. Coffee wouldn't be so bad, right? "Um, okay... sure, you want to go for coffee or something?"
"Yes! We can do that! we can go for a drink, coffee, a bar, whatever you want, just say it."
"Izuku I feel like you're a bit excited.." You couldn't help the small smile at the childish excitement in his tone, how quickly he regressed into his kidlike self when talking to you.
"I'm sorry- I am just so happy. We haven't talked since middle school,"
You wanted to talk to him about that, I mean, who is that excited to meet an old friend that you had a terrible end with?
He was basically rocking on his heels.
"And, I-I mean... I-It's you."
You looked at him, watching his expression intently. His excitement flashed in his eyes and almost overwhelmed you. "Okay..."
You were terrible at saying no.
It's fine, it's just coffee and catching up, it's all going to be okay. Everything will be fine.
You kinda hoped he'd forget. You were deadly wrong, that realization really hit when he stayed by your side at the hospital, making sure you were treated as if you'd been a celebrity. It would have been sweet, it's just... The feeling you had in the pit of your stomach, it made you jittery, nervous with his eyes trained on you.
At the café, he was sweet, caring, just as he'd been before. He was prideful, but you could see the way he held himself wasn't for show. Izuku was different, as of course, one would be, but his personality had anchored itself in one thing. He saves people, he's a hero. Everything he wanted was accomplished, and he was happy.
You started to smile, started to relax. It was so fun to pound shots in bars and laugh at his overactive gag reflex. Dance in clubs with his hand on your waist, feeling actually protected in a place you'd never enter without a flock of friends. It was nice to talk through stupid things that occurred during middle school, and have questions of yours answered with answers the media would have died for.
You gossiped and snarked and laughed in fits over rivals and fights. It had been weeks since that chance encounter. You found yourself looking for reasons to meet him, even with his busy schedule he always found time for you. He was your confidant rather quickly, having known each other in childhood helped your relationship progress. Then when you'd finally seen yourself at his house, holding a cool tea, and watching over the skyline that he'd been dying to show you, did you finally wonder. "Hey, Midoriya?"
"I thought we're more close than last names?" He joked, walking over to you and throwing the oven mitts on the couch.
You huffed, rolling your eyes a bit. "Okay, fine. Izuku why do you want to be my friend so much? I mean..." You turned to look at him. His smile softened, and his eyes became more intense. You met his gaze evenly. "We didn't really have the best send-off before high school... So, why?"
He blinked at you, smile unwavering. "Well, of course, I would want to be close to you. How can I marry you otherwise?"
...What?
Your lips parted in surprise, confusion stuck in your eyes so vividly he could see it so clear, he almost laughed. "Don't you remember? Your promise is still in my head. It helped make me who I am. Of course, I want to know you better."
You started to laugh. It was nervous, mostly manic but it felt suddenly appropriate. "You still remember that?"
He cocked his head to the side. "Of course."
It took a few minutes before you finally quieted down into awkward silence, staring at him. "...You're serious."
"Yes?" He seemed confused, "I am. Now, come on. I think the food is done--"
"Izuku no." You were flabbergasted at him, at his actual delusions of thinking that he could just come in and expect to marry you, because of a promise you made as a five-year-old. "You don't actually think that that's gonna happen."
"Why? You're single, and so am I." You felt dizzy, you raised your hand to silence him, quickly trying to make your way to the door. He was quicker than a light-headed you, well, he was quicker than a healthy you, and you weren't feeling your best at the moment. Your cup was forgotten, broken on the marble floors of his apartment, he trapped you in between his arms, pushing you rather harshly against the wall. He glanced at your broken cup. tilting his head with a frown. "...Doll, that's such a mess you've made."
Your eyes widened, pushing yourself against the wall as if it would help make you any smaller, to move farther in any way. Your mind could barely comprehend what was happening, how could this be? How could he be this way?
It made your eyes well up with tears, reality falling onto you with his words ringing in his ears. Izuku's frown only deepened. He didn't mean to scare you, he doesn't want you to fear him. It made sense to him, to confess.
"I would do anything for you. I mean, I know that you may not love me right now, but I love you enough that I don't care. You'll love me eventually, but my heart will never not be yours." His hand moved to caress your cheek, his frown bringing you back to the look of concern he had when you'd been hurt. It made your heart flutter. You wondered if it were from fear or... "Since kindergarten, before that damned promise you had my heart in your grip, and still it remains today."
"Izuku..." You pushed at his chest, looking away from his intense green gaze. "I c-can't..."
"I am not asking for the world now." He insisted, brushing away hair that fell into your face. "You know that I can't just let it go. I can't let you go."
"Please don't do this." Was it crazy for him to ask you to give him a chance? Had it been any time else, had it been in another reality. Had he held your hand when you needed him...maybe it would have been different. "Please... I can't promise you that,"
The air shifted immediately. Crackling with the intensity of his gaze, you could have sworn you felt the hair on the back of your neck stand, that your dizziness hit harder than it ever did, that your knees buckled beneath your weight, weakness within your bones, burning up your skin, following the motion of his fingertips. "I love you." He whispered.
"No..."
"I love you."
"No... You can't- I can't--"
"No. Doll. I love you."
His lips touched yours within the instant of your eyes closing. The weight that you could barely hold became impossible. He was quick, holding onto you and pressing you close to him, squishing you in between his large form and the wall you'd been cornered in, caressing the small of your back. Your whimper as you melted into him was something he'd cherish forever.
He couldn't let you go.
He would never let you go.
He loves you, and your promise is indented in gold and around his finger. It being around yours wouldn't be a fantasy of his for long.

Touch-adverse HC
What if Bakugou isn't actually touch adverse? We always assume he is, because of his overreactions, but what if he's actually touch-hesitant? Touch afraid? Imagine a young Katsuki, still learning his Quirk, and everyone telling him how cool and strong he is. He's messing around having fun like kids do. He put the older kids that were bullying them in their place. Maybe he helped start a fire or light sparklers in the summer time - useful, praiseworthy thing. That is, until one time he accidently burns Izuku bad enough that he gets sent to the hospital.
The doctors say he'll recover and that there shouldn't be any permanent scarring. Everyone is relieved that Izuku will be all right, but then the doctors warn this little kid that his Quirk is dangerous and he shouldn't carelessly touch people. Mitsuki and Masaru tell him not to think about it too hard. Mistakes happen, after all. Inko and Izuku forgive him - it's hard not to when proud little Katsuki is in tears. But Katsuki himself dwells on it. The memory of Izuku's face when Katsuki touched him a permanent reminder that his hands were dangerous.
Even if he wasn't sweating, his palms could still heat up. They could still burn if he wasn't careful. So he distances himself. He rebukes any and all contact bestowed upon him until everyone around him just assumes he doesn't like being touched. And quite frankly, it's easier for him that way. That is, until the loneliness sets in. He never realized how much he would miss a hug, a high five, an arm around his shoulder. But he doesn't seek it out. It was safest for everyone this way.
So when Kirishima Eijirou, the ray of sunshine that he was, comes crashing into his life, Katsuki panics. The idiot was constantly crossing the thick boundary Katsuki had set. It was only a matter of time before he accidently burned Kirishima, and yet the redhead wouldn't take a hint. He would throw his arm around Katsuki's shoulder. He would pull Katsuki into his side. He would disregard reasoning for self-preservation. Katsuki tried to warn him. He would attack Kirishima on purpose to show how dangerous he was, but Kirishima would laugh it off and harden his skin reflexively every time. He never failed. So Katsuki let his guard down. It started with Kirishima, and then moved to the others - Kaminari, Ashido, Sero. They all showered him in the contact he so desperately missed but would never tell anyone he needed.
And then it happened. When Katsuki accidently burned Mina, it felt like his heart had shattered into a million pieces. He didn't mean to hurt her. She was clutching her bicep, the smell of burnt skin filled the room. The others rushed her to Recovery Girl and Katsuki was left alone to think about what he had done. All those years of fear were only reaffirmed and his eyes stung as he tried to fight back the wave of tears threatening to burst forth. He didn't deserve to cry. It was his fault. He knew it would happen and yet he let himself believe he was finally in control. He was a fucking idiot.
A sob escaped him and Kirishima came walking into the dorm to find him broken on the floor in the common room. He rushed to Katsuki's side, whispering that it'll be all right.
"Get off me!" Katsuki shouted, his voice broke.
"No one blames you. It was an accident."
"They fucking should! I knew this would happen." It happened before. Katsuki clambered to his feet, pushing Kirishima off of him, but those strong arms wrapped around Katsuki, pulling him into a tight embrace. "Let me go!"
Kirishima shook his head. He held Katsuki close, forcing him to listen to Kirishima's steady heartbeat. "I don't know what's going through your head right now, but it wasn't your fault. We all have times we can't control our Quirks."
"My Quirk hurts people." Katsuki muttered.
"And mine doesn't? You know that's why I wear those sleeves right? If I were to carry someone without that protective layer on, they could get cut. Ashido's Quirk is acid. She probably understands you better than anyone." Kirishima lifted Katsuki's chin, forcing him to meet his eyes. "You can't hurt me." The look in his eyes was confident, and the tone in Kirishima's voice was unwavering. He truly believed there was no way Katsuki could hurt him.
"You won't always harden in time." Katsuki choked out.
"I will. If it means you never look like this again." Kirishima squeezed him tighter, pressing his face into Katsuki's hair, and kissing the top of his head lightly. "Let's go check on Ashido."
"Okay." Katsuki breathed in reply, feeling a weight lifted.

For the BNHA Pokémon AU and the dynamic between Izuku and Katsuki, you could make Izuku similar to Wally from Emerald: he has some health condition that would impede him from going on a journey (or at least make it harder), yet he still wants to be a Pokémon Master, so the others look down on him for chasing an unrealistic dream. Granted, you could argue that makes everyone else worse for basically bullying a sick child, but then again I've seen a lot of stories that treat being Quirkless as an in-universe disability, so it still kinda tracks.
As for the Todoroki, how about this scenario: Enji is the Fire-type Gym Leader, while Rei specializes in Ice-type (maybe a coordinator?). No Quirk marriage, it's a normal opposites attract romance, but Enji would like one of their children to take his mantle someday, so he has expectations for them: except he ends up with Fuyumi and Natsuo preferring Ice Pokémon to Fire, and while Toya is more receptive, he ends up in an accident like in Canon, and just like in Canon Shoto ends up having to shoulder his father's aspirations. If Shoto also has to struggle with having to use Fire Pokémon because of his father, while having an affinity for Ice-type from his mother, it's pretty similar to the Canon conflict. Not sure about the scar, it might end up being a minor accident during training...
So for Izuku:
I mean. God bullying the disabled is just canon.
I don't think that would entirely work though. Because like. For one thing I'd be straight up disabling him in some way. But also. Part of my whole thing with Izuku is that he was entirely capable, but it was others' biases that made them think he wasn't.
And you can tell this is bias because there are so many characters who are 'basically Quirkless' but are still seen as viable potential Heroes. Ojiro's only advantage is a tail. Hagakure's invisibility helps, but she's not strong or durable. Momo creates items and could be replaced with someone who just brings weapons in the first place. And this goes for Pro Heroes too! Aizawa's Quirk only negates Emitter Quirks and some aspects of Transformation/Mutation types depending on their exact nature. So all his badassery comes from 'basically Qurikless training'. Miruko, I love her, but her Quirk is not the basis for her battle ability outside of some enhanced senses. (Argue the powerful legs all you want, everyone in this show jumps around like a goddamn rabbit).
So yeah. Izuku does not have an 'Ability', but he doesn't quite have a 'Disability.
Changing it from just 'Quirkless' to a more real-world disability would be a more genuine and concrete concern of something that could limit him and/or cause him danger. And while a disability could be managed and accommodated, it is still something solid for why he would have a genuinely difficult time and might be incredibly limited in what he does.
And like. I could still roll with that, but it does change the story from a story about just biases to a story about overcoming a disability.
Re: the Todoroki's though.
I think I could technically roll with that? But it'd still be. Very weird? Hm. Because like. Endeavor would have kept training Toya up until his 'death'. Though maybe Toya is upset to find that it seems like Endeavor didn't care about that because Shoto was still there as a backup so he gets very 'well time for murder!'.
This does make Endeavor a bit more chill(ironically) in that he was just like 'Hm okay Fuyumi and Natsuo want ice types? Okay won't force them'.
There's also the fact that since it's Pokemon, instead of the kids being on the receiving end of the abuse it'd be the Pokemon themselves. Which still sucks but would have a different dynamic.
I actually can roll with Shoto's burn being a genuine accident. Without Quirks, the Humans aren't fireproof so.....
..........................
Ya know what maybe I should just embrace the wholesomeness of Pokemon and have everyone's lives be a lot better and make them all better people. Idk man maybe having a bunch of furry companions helps you work out your issues easier.
fuck it no Quirks but everyone's goddamn chill?
