this post probably exists out there somewhere but. you know the book la galatea? the one Flint leaves for Miranda in 2x3? uhh well it was written by Cervantes the man most well known for creating the patron saint of lost causes (don quixote) but that isnt even the most insane part this book was a collection of pastoral poems loosely wedged into a narrative now, what were these poems about you may ask? well, pastoral stories for those of you who do not know are about love specifically they are about overpowering love making people do insane things and many of these stories in this book end either in tragedy or very ambiguously. essentially the love was there but it didnt change the ending. now the frame these tales are set in? well, THAT is the story of two gentleman, one of noble birth named Elicio and one of low birth who is nonetheless quite well-spoken named Erastro (sound familiar?) who are both in love with the same woman (the titular galatea). they agree that their shared love will never interfere with their friendship. now if you, like me, are throwing objects at the walls at this point, wait for the best part: la galatea is UNFINISHED. Cervantes wrote only part 1 and IN DON QUIXOTE there is a scene in which part one is BURNED and a character comments that it will never be any good without a second half. which he never wrote.

Who is Pom Pom?

Pom Pom is a virus/glitch formed by the scrapped side-scrolling arcade game from the early 90's “Pom-Pom Panic”. Pom Pom (the main character of Pom Pom Panic) for whatever reason gained sentience halfway during the game’s development. The game was cancelled halfway because the publishing company thought it was too bizarre of a concept and mascot character to gain interest. Pom Pom heard of the news and took it way too personally, as she literally cannot fathom why someone would think she’s ‘bizarre’-even to the point of getting ‘axed’. Prompted by the ‘poor judgement’ Pom Pom went rouge-breaking from her game to ‘axe’ any ‘approved’ game mascots/characters she thought could count as ‘bizarre’ like her.

Big big thanks to @prongsfish for the tag <3 Here's a few paragraphs from chapter five of Hateful Creatures.

James leaned back in the chair, his head tilted slightly to watch Regulus. “You were mumbling in your sleep," he said. No, no, fuck no, anything but this. “And shaking. Lily told me you’ve been having bad dreams. Is that something… new?”

He made no mention of any incriminating words, and Regulus felt something in his chest loosen slightly. “Yes, ever since I ended up here I’ve been having these terrible dreams where idiots from my childhood won’t leave me alone. Oh, wait.” James’s face turned sour at the statement, but Regulus pushed through. “Lily doesn’t know as much as she likes to think she does. And I’m fine, thank you,” Regulus said, swinging his legs off the bed and standing to prove his point. He barely wobbled. “So you can go now. Please.”

“You know,” said James, also standing, and Regulus realised again how tall he was, “you were actually becoming somewhat bearable these last few days. Like you used to be. But if you’re going to get like this the moment something riles you up, I’ll be happy to lock the door again.”

“Be my guest,” Regulus said with a smile, sweeping his arms towards the door as though to usher James out. “It might keep me safe from your awful friends and their experimental curses.” He sneered as James stormed past him, wrenching the bedroom door open and slamming it shut behind him. After a pause of a few seconds, there was a squelching sound as it sealed.

Regulus kicked it, but it didn’t budge. It vibrated on its hinges as someone on the other side kicked back. He heard stomping in the hallway, footsteps clattering down the stairs, then silence.

Brief background: Regulus is temporarily detained at the Potters' house and they're all being Completely Normal about it. The Situation isn't putting anybody under any sort of Stress. Dumbledore is being Extremely Helpful.
