SUMMARY: Head canons of dating Kyle, just general ideas and thoughts.

-> Kyle is a very romantic lover. He's sweet, relaxed, caring, and loving, but only towards you. Anyone else he knows, he keeps them at arms distance emotionally. Everyone he's friends with agrees that you're the only one he trusts more than them, and it's true. He tells you everything, like you're his best friend. He loves you unconditionally no doubt.

-> Along with being very romantic, Kyle us a worrier. He's a stickler for making sure everything is perfect, that includes injuries. He flips out over the smallest paper cut. You could even stub your toe and he immediately runs to your side. He doesn't flip out but he fusses at you to be more careful. Your physical health isn't all he worries about. He's always making sure you're eating right, sleeping well, you feel well mentally and other stuff. He just wants to be sure you're okay.

-> Being the way he is, especially with Cartman, he can be very protective of what he loves. He's a very fiery person, always jumping to defend you and hates when Cartman mocks you or makes fun of him being with you. In these situations he's hit Cartman over the things he's said about you and to you but he's also gotten into arguments with him too. Other than that he knows that people won't mess with you but under the circumstance that someone does, he's bad off the hands. Though he typically doesn't fight, he's pretty quick to escalate into a fight. Kyle would do anything for you and that includes getting himself hurt and he's not one to take risks.

-> Kyle's not entirely good though he tries to keep himself out of trouble, he does like to occasionally skip school. Usually it's with the boys but when you're involved he tries to keep them out of trouble and organized. He doesn't like the idea that you could get dragged into their dumb ideas. He's also skipped school just to go out with you, even without much to do he finds stuff for you to do together regardless.

-> When it comes to PDA and cuddling, Kyle's not exactly an advocate for it but he does love to do cute romantic things together. He can only ever do romantic stuff when you're alone. In public he gives you hugs and kisses here and there. He'll also sit as close to you in public as he can. His favorite way to spend time together is to sit by the pond and talk for hours and hours. There's nothing the two of you don't know about one another, he talks to you about anything and everything. He's also very honest about a lot of things, even when girls flirt with him too.

-> although Kyle can be very tough, he's very soft towards you. Figuratively and literally. He's so soft when he touches you and holds you, it's almost like he's scared to break you. He has so many different nicknames for you, each of them as cute as the last.

-> Spending the night at each other's houses is more common than you think though it's usually three days out of the week and then the weekend too. Your parents are very welcoming with him around, his parents however have the door open rule. Even though he's supposed to sleep separately from you, he doesn't. Some time throughout the night he will find himself cuddled up to you with you in-between his arms. He loves sleeping together, it's not that he wants to have sex, no, he just loves holding you close. He's never tried to jump in your pants either, he himself has told you that he's not ready for that but he admits that he wants you to be his first.

-> Partying isn't something that Kyle enjoys doing often but it happens, when it does he gets absolutely fucking cock-eyed. Can't see straight, blabbering about nothing, and more. He's a baby when he's drunk but it can also end in very hot make out sessions. Even in his drunken state he stops it before it can escalate. His respect for you knows no bounds, your wants and needs come way before his and that will always be his way.

-> In school you have a strange way of communicating. In classrooms where you can't speak all you have to do is give him a look and he knows what's up. Eventually he created another way of communicating that stuck permanently. He would start putting up an amount of fingers, each number he put up was a part of a number sequence that was representative of a sentence. Sometimes you have full conversations in class without the teachers knowing.

-> When it comes to being with Kyle romantically you've come to love everyone in his family, including his troublesome younger brother, Ike. Bless his heart, he's the sweetest boy in the world but he acts so mature all the time. Mature in ways he shouldn't be acting but regardless he absolutely loves you. He does things like buy you flowers for your birthday and Valentine's day. Kyle is jealous of this, he absolutely hates when Ike does this. It turns into a battle for who can prove their love to you. At the very end it ends with you forcing the boys to apologize to one another and relax.

-> Going on dates with Kyle is a rarity, however his favorite is study dates, usually at his house. He helps you with your school work and any classes you're falling behind in before he ever does his own work. While he does his work you're sitting between his legs, either facing him with your head resting on his shoulder or watching him work while he occasionally rests a hand on your stomach to tug you closer. No words are usually shared between you during this time unless you ask him something out of curiosity, you know he needs silence to focus. Study dates aren't always at his house though, he really likes to go to the library with you while you sit in a corner with him and read a quick book.

-> Kyle's a try hard in school, he does his best to keep his grades up but sometimes he takes it too far. He locks himself up in his room over the weekend and won't come out for anything. Sometimes you'll walk in on him asleep at his computer desk with an educational video still running on YouTube. The poor guy works himself to the edge and then almost gets himself hurt. Finding him in that state makes you sad. But you pull him from the chair and tuck him into bed. He's too tired to form a sentence but he has a routine now. Every time you leave to let him sleep, he grabs your wrist to pull you back into bed. You like to call them sleep dates.

-> If you've forgotten to do homework or take notes, Kyle let's you copy off of him. While you copy his stuff you like to doodle in his notes, as much as he acts like he hates it he absolutely loves your small little doodles. He even hoards his old notebooks to look at your older ones.

-> When Kyle gets sick, he becomes very lethargic. You usually have to skip school that day to take care of him since his parents are busy. He doesn't mind this though, even if he won't have you to get missing work from. He quite likes being able to have these calm quiet moments with you. Oftentimes you find him staring at you with such love and adoration in his eyes that it makes you melt at the sight. He only lets you take care of him because you insist that you do, he still fusses at you claiming you'll get sick too and he's right. You do. When he takes care of you he doesn't skip school but he stays the rest of the day with you to ensure your well-being.

-> Being with Kyle means you're gonna be really close to his friends, out of the bunch you see Stan the most. He'll come and visit you when he can't find Kyle, Kyle doesn't mind him being around when he's not there but anyone else bothers him. He won't admit it though.

-> You were around for the escapades of Human Kite back in fourth grade, so you knew who he was. But Kyle didn't think you knew. He never said anything but he still runs around as Human Kite to this day and occasionally you see him out and about. Of course his outfit has changed a lot over the years but you think it's cute when you see him. He tries so hard to hide it from you and you can't help but let him keep that fantasy. He has an issue of following you out and about as Human Kite, just to make sure you're safe. At the end of the day you like to brag about Human Kite to Kyle, claiming that he's your favorite. You can't help but notice the prideful grin that slips through every now and again.

What do you think Homelander’s attraction to Becca was? It’s not like at the Christmas party she was the only woman there, and by that point he had no idea who Butcher was. The actress that plays her is attractive, but the later scenes (season two and even just their initial introduction) between them suggest there’s something more to his attraction.

It’s obvious in the season two scenes that Homelander and Becca have, he has some lingering attraction. I think that’s primarily led by the fact that they have a son together and Homelander desperately wants a family, and also that Homelander is looking for a new woman to attach himself onto since Madelyn died. Perhaps he just wants what he can’t have especially knowing that she’s still in love with Butcher and he wants someone to love him that unconditionally. The main reason I thought of this is because in my opinion, Homelander isn’t the type of character to do something without a reason. Usually he has one even if it’s not a good reason.

ah yes, potentially one of the most contentious/controversial plot points in the fandom. canon gives us VERY little to go on here, so excuse me while I just ramble my take on the whole situation. i extrapolate a good amount. everyone you ask is going to have a different answer, and each one is as valid as any other. this is simply mine!

Homelander's greatest sin isn't wrath or pride. It's envy. He is a bottomless well of yearning for what he doesn't have, and he is viciously covetous. We see this play out most plainly in his one sided beef with a literal baby.

When he meets Becca, she's beautiful, quick witted, strong willed and independent. A career woman. Not only that, she's helping manage his career by handing his social media, which is part of his public perception. Very important to him! He already has a ton of wires crossed when it comes to the women in his life acting as both coworkers/Vought employees and emotional surrogates, i.e. Maeve, Madelyn and Vogelbaum. Plus who knows how many nanny mommies.

At this point, we don't know how long he's been with Maeve, but we have at least another 6 years before the pair breaks up. He's enjoying Maeve, but he wants more. He always wants more. Maybe he wants a wife, and she's refusing him that.

But Becca is a wife. He sees that ring on her finger and it boils his blood that he doesn't have that classic, romantic symbol of commitment. Of love. Worse yet when he meets her husband! The figurative boogeyman. The baby stealing his mommy and her milk. We're not there in the story yet, but we do see a trend here. It likely didn't start here: imagine what it was like for him to find out Vogelbaum had kids. Kids he loved. I bet that gutted Homelander. It should have been him.

Homelander, in his mind, can never win. Can never have enough. Anyone else having means they are directly taking away what should be his. It could be that it was never really about Becca specifically so much as the archetype she represented.

That carries us into season 2 where Becca takes on an additional archetype that Homelander is now lacking: mother. I think you're right on the money that a good amount of his attraction comes from the fact she's the mother of his son.

He falls pretty deep down the fantasy family rabbit hole with Becca, though. He not only inserts himself into their lives and routine, he takes a renewed interest in Becca. He snoops through her things, smells her clothes, and engages with her well beyond just interacting with Ryan. Then comes the scene where he finds her hidden stash of Billy merch, and the fantasy is shattered. She's still in love with another man. She's a wife, but she's not his wife. She's the mother to his son, but she's not someone who will fulfill those emotional needs for him. I've made this comparison before, but it's very reminiscent to the breakdown he has when he sees his baby blanket in his fake childhood home. He moves on VERY easily to Stormfront when she not only presents herself as a mother to her own child, but a potential mother for his child.

I'm backtracking a little here, but when Maeve called Homelander over from Billy and Becca at the party, I always got the vibe she was doing so quite purposefully. I wonder how much of their early relationship was Maeve feeling like she was performing damage control. Managing him, curbing his destructive behaviors. Did she see that covetous edge in his eye when he would look at Becca, at her ring? Did she try to tell him to leave her alone, play it like a joke?

We have the deleted scene where Maeve says the reason they broke up was because he couldn't keep it in his tights, but we don't really have any other explicit instances or even mentions of Homelander liberally sleeping around. Did she know about Becca, or at the very least did she make an educated guess when the woman disappeared? Maybe she felt like he did it to spite her. Did she know about Madelyn?

Ultimately we know Maeve becomes complicit in his crimes. She feels her hands are dirty with the same blood. She becomes jaded, she's no longer the hero. She's just an accessory. I definitely don't think it started that way, though.

anyways, I hope this somewhat answered your question! I have a tendency to jump around a lot and word vomit, but this generally covers my take on why that all went down the way it did.

Honestly, I would love to write a fic someday that digs more into my thoughts here. Becca deserves so much more than what she got from the narrative.

to make dazai fall in love with you, you’d have to be someone who has seen the realities of living, how people behave in the face of danger and even so, believe to see the best in everyone with utmost trust. he thinks its quite strange since he, himself, does not believe in true good but maybe it’s to see a sliver of good in a hopeless reality— perhaps it’s true, opposites do attract!

dazai is oh so badly attracted to people who aren’t stuck in a fantasy. someone who thinks of the realities as well as a great strategist. he wouldn’t mind if you’re a dreamer though, he’d love to hear all about your vivid descriptions of a world that does not exist.

dazai would try to court you by his little gestures— buying you coffee, talking to you more often and not even asking you to join him in a double suicide, so romantic!

when dazai loves someone, he’d act like you’re the only thing happening to him in such a big world. or to put it plainly, he’s obsessed with you. not in a yandere way, not quite; talking to you would be the highlight of his day, he’d constantly think what you’re doing, if you think he’s a weirdo, or would be recalling conversations with you.

#Atsushi Nakajima

for atsushi to love you, you’d have to be somewhat of a ‘perfect woman’; kind, patient and gentle-faced. atsushi’s ideal partner is one who would rely on him to protect them as well as someone who would let him cry into their arms, someone who’d see all his ugly parts and still love him unconditionally.

atsushi would be head over heels for people who reassure him and his flaws. he’d be so love drunk every single time you’d say “you tried your best and saved as many as possible.”. he can’t save everyone, some people are just bound to die— he knows that now because you’ve told him over and over without ever getting mad, could you get less perfect?

atsushi’s not the greatest with affection, it’s quite well-known, isnt it? he’d ask the agency members for advice— buying you lunch down in cafe uzumaki, complimenting your clothes, buying you small trinkets

atsushi would be so hesitant to indulge in his small crush, but even so, he can’t find it in himself to stop himself from thinking about the things he loves about you— your personality, your smooth hair, your tactfulness, everything about you just makes his cheeks flush a vibrant pink.

to earn akutagawa’s love, you must be someone who gets along with most people, especially the black lizard! ryū has faith in his subordinates social opinions since he, himself is not one to mingle with a crowd. if they (most especially gin) adore you then perhaps this time, akutagawa will let his heart rest as he falls in love.

he’d especially admire if you were someone high-ranking within your own job, you worked hard to earn your position and it is admirable in his eyes. perhaps you could spare time to explain your work ethic? no, this isn’t a date, what a ridiculous thing to say! (if you want to call it a date though…)

noticing akutagawa’s crush is incredibly subtle, however not unnoticeable. he’d be kinder talking to you compared to higuchi and various others, he’d also be quite loyal to you, as well. like with dazai, he’s willing to help you with chores or groceries.

akutagawa is closed off. out of everyone here, he is the one most scared of falling in love. living in a world filled with pain has not done good to him. he has learned of how cruel the world can be and not to mention the many lives he has taken, would you really love someone raised in slums?

for chuya to fall in love, you’d have to be someone with an unending loyalty, someone who can defend themself as well as someone who knows when you have to ask for help. he’d dislike someone who is a helpless damsel (yuan cough) but, he’s still wants you to rely on him, he is your boyfriend after all!

chuya loves someone who can be passionate— about him, art, talents, hobbies, anything, he simply loves the passion and fire in your eyes when you talk about something you love.

chuya would show his interest with materialism, did we expect less? of course, this isn’t all. he’d also be more interested in talking to you rather than his busy schedule. who cares what mori thinks? there’s still tomorrow to finish it.

chuya is reserved with love. he’d be uneasy to fall in love, let alone just developing some platonic relation with you. but seeing your gleeful smile and sweet eyes is something that would just be worth seeing even if it just leads him to more pain. in the mafia, any day could be his last so why not let his dying memory be your face?

to catch the devil’s interest, you’d have to be quite an oddball; someone who is shunned by society and rejected by humanity. someone who has lost their faith in virtues, morals and the world. dostoy’s ideal would be someone so faithless so that he could give them new hope, him. he wants you to stay by his side, he might even call you his own personal assistant, don’t tell ivan though! this is something to be kept between you and him.

fyodor would also be interested in someone as insightful as him. he’d love someone he can share thoughts with— philosophy, literature, strategy. it’d be so nice to finally talk to someone who isn’t blind like everyone else.

fyodor’s crush is almost unnoticeable tbh. the only exceptional treatment of his is privacy. he’d talk to you as he types away on his computer, helping you with the games you play and maybe even seeing your insights on a strategy of his.

dostoevsky is possessive. he wouldn’t dare give anyone a chance to take his cute myshka from him. that’s why surprisingly, he’d be one of the firsts to confess his affections. fyodor knows exactly what he wants and what he wants is you.

I’m just saying, it would be very foolish of the writers to let potentially one of the best queer slowburns in a popular show slip through their fingers.

If they pull an unrequited love storyline for Will and Mike, it would be such a fumble on their part. They have such an intense relationship between these two characters cradled in their hands, and if they choose to drop them it would absolutely break my heart — not only as a queer person and byler shipper, but as someone who is a hopeless romantic as well.

You have these two boys who have known each other for nearly their entire lives, who value each other above nearly everyone else. One who believes meeting the other was the best thing he’s ever done, and the other loving him unconditionally, even after childish mistake after childish mistake.

Mike goes above and beyond for Will. Being the only person besides Will’s mother to believe Will is still alive even after seeing his fake body be pulled from the quarry — Staying with Will for days when he is possessed and tormented by the Mindflayer — Running to Will’s house during a thunderstorm to apologize when he knows he’s fucked up —

Will, meanwhile, has been almost bashfully obvious with his feelings for Mike. He outright admits to wanting nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with Mike, and reassures him that it’s not possible for him to fall for anyone else.

They fit together perfectly, and in the show it’s proven time and time again that they work better together. A team. Partners.

Now, they’re stuck in this awkward place where Mike is clearly conflicted and confused, and angry about it. He can’t tell his girlfriend he loves her, even on paper. This could be because they’re so young and he doesn’t know how to say it, or because he doesn’t want to admit to her or himself that he doesn’t love her in that way. Because Mike’s main motto is friends don’t lie. He’d be lying to her if he said he loved her.

Will on the other hand seems to be struggling to hold himself back from confessing to Mike. The pure yearning and hurt on his face each time he looks at Mike is heartbreaking, but it also just showcases how deeply and completely Will loves Mike. It’s not just some childhood crush or puppy-love. This is the real deal! It’s undeniable.

It’s a common belief that the best and most long-lasting romantic relationships are built on a strong friendship. The phrase ‘marry your best friend’ is an agreed upon sentiment in both real life and most romance media. As an audience we already know Will and Mike are close friends, but this season they’ve reiterated that they are best friends. They work best together, they understand each other, they fight for each other, and I think we can all agree that Will and Mike both shine as characters best when they’re with each other. Mike even admits that he feels like he’s lost Will. He admits that Hawkins isn’t the same without him. He said he’d paid too much attention to El and that’s why he lost Will, which is such an odd thing to say. It makes it seem like Mike regrets spending all of his time in season 3 with El, and that he wishes he’d been with Will instead. That isn’t a platonic thing to say at all.

They are open and honest with each other, and in this season you can really tell how much it infuriates Will that El is blatantly lying to Mike. He takes it personally. It’s clear that he thinks Mike deserves nothing but the absolute truth, which we’ve seen Will give him time and time again. Opening up to him about the Mindflayer, the Crazy Together scene, and now he’s the one telling Mike that El’s not being truthful.

The writers have the set-up. They’ve set-up a childhood best friends to lovers storyline between these two boys.

I’d be sad if they burned it all to the ground, yes. Most of all, though, I think I would mourn for their loss.

Imagine having such an impactful and heartwarming romance just there in front of you, and then just letting it slip through your fingers.

If they follow through with it, though. . . it would honestly be huge. It would make history. I’m not even exaggerating.

It would be a total shock to me, even as I’m someone who loves them together so much. Because even though I’ve pointed out all the signs pointing to their mutual feelings, I’m still so reluctant to have hope.

Because queer people don’t get these kinds of love stories. We don’t get to see the same things as straight people do. We have to write our own romance storylines about the shows and books we love, because time and time again we are made to feel delusional for even thinking for a moment two people of the same sex will have a well-written onscreen romantic storyline.

It’s 99 times out of 100 unrequited or one half of the partnership is brutally killed off as soon as they confess.

Hands down, your hands. They way they perfectly mold with him when you're holding hands... he will never get enough of it. He for sure has a thing for you being noticeably smaller thsn him.

You, on his lap with your head on his chest or shoulder. If your cuddling in a bed, his arm would be around you with your head on his chest and one laying across him.

Probably cooking/ baking together. He loves the thought and it seems romantic.

He expresses his emotions in his facial expressions. You know he's upset about something when he walks past you pouting.

Obviously he wants a family but I think Mingyu's shy when it comes to that conversation. In the end you'd bring it up and you guys would agree to wait til you guys were married.

He buys you little trinkets all the time. They seem meaningless to everyone who sees them, but they have meaning to you and Mingyu.

He holds your hand all the time. If your hand gets too hot or you need to use it, you have to tell him to let go because he doesn't even realize he's doing it, it'd just a habit.

I honestly think he would be pretty calm, just go grab the first aid kit and put medicine on the injury. Tells you never to do that again.

Teases you about your height. Obviously your shorter than him. He likes poking fun at your height but he'll stop if you ask him too.

He kissed the top of your head of your forehead. It'd the easiest for him to reach.

Cooks for you. If your not feeling well enough to clean up around the house, he does that too.

Ngl, you were friends with another member when Mingyu came in and became your bestfriend in the matter of 4 months and then about 1 ½ years later, he confessed his love for you on a yacht.

If your upset mingyu's upset too. He hates seeing you upset so he tries to cheer you up but it ends up with him walking away cuz your mood started effecting him.

He's proud of you in general, he always makes sure you know that. He shows you off in any situation. As long as your not wearing revealing clothes, everything's fine.

He'd fight beside you for sure. He's got your back, but mingyu's too sweet to actually fight anyone. Plus your his girlfriend, he's already won.

He's gotten practice with this. The several years you have been together, he's picked up a lot. So he reads you pretty well.

He confessed to you on a yacht before you started dating. But it was only a cruise so I think he's take you on a private yacht to an island and he'd take you somewhere beautiful and unforgettable to propose.

"If you love Me, obey My commandments."

Many Believers say that they love Me, but their words are empty, and without love for Me. I desire those who actually desire Me and delight in Me as much as I desire and delight in them. I shouldn't have to put all the work into our relationship, and not receive any love in return.

If you were in a physical relationship with someone, and you ignored that person and treated him or her like you do with Me, that person would leave and want nothing more to do with you. It's not kind, and it's not how you treat someone who you claim to love.

The best way to show someone that you love them, is by finding out what his or her love language is (see The 5 Love Languages). Not everyone receives or gives love the same way. For example, I give others love through gifts and through words of affirmation. I receive love through physical touch, and love letters, or other romantic means. My husband, on the other hand, gives love through actions, and receives love through physical touch. So.....everyone is different. With Yah (G-d), He gives love unconditionally to those who He considers to be His kids, and He receives love by way of us being obedient to His Word. If you claim to be a child of the Most High, then you need to learn how to love your King. He loves being loved through your obedience to His desires.

How are we supposed to be obedient? What does it mean to be obedient to His Word and voice? We are supposed to be obedient by listening to what He has instructed us to do by reading His Word, and listening to what the Holy Spirit has told us to do. To be obedient to His Word and His voice means that we get rid of all the distractions around us, spend time with Him in His presence, and really tune in to listen to His voice, awaiting to see what He has to say. When I first started to do this with Yah, I literally had to plan out my day, setting aside time to spend time with Him. I was at a Women's Retreat in Texas, which was called Hearts of Beauty (which I highly suggest). Every morning, before we would have service, I would go down to the pier, and spend time with Him. I would sing to Him. I would talk to Him. I would just love being with Him. When I left there, I had to make sure that I kept up that schedule, so I continued to pray outside every morning, and then, outside every night. I would read His Word, and just listen to worship and praise music to help me get into His presence. I absolutely loved spending time with Him! For everyone else, your time with Him might be different, and that's okay. Just know that He desires and delights in you. He loves to spend time with you! He just wants to know that you want Him too!

He also has a set list of things that He is NOT okay with at all. Some might call these the 10 Commandments; however, there are so much more than just the 10. There are actually 613 commandments that He has given us; however, not all of them are for us to follow. They are all very important. The problem is, that there have been some Believers who were taught that the Old Covenant (Old Testament) is no longer relevant. But, that couldn't be further from the case. Why would Yah give us something to read, and then, say it wasn't important anymore? He wouldn't! He does not change...AT ALL!!!! You want to know who does change? People! People change, and people have added and deleted things from Scripture, without people realizing it. It started a very long time ago. The Roman Catholic church is one of the governing bodies which have done a very good job in adding and taking away from Scripture, in order to meet their agenda. In fact, every denomination that was created by man, have done this. That is why pastors are held in a much more stricter regard with Yah, is because they are supposed to teach His kids His words. If they are not doing it the way He wants (The Truth, and not their truth), then that is where the problem lies. Yah does not tolerate pride or rebellion or even disobedience to His Word, yet the Body of Christ have continued to believe "The Church" over G-d every time. G-d is NOT pleased with the Body of Christ. He is tired of the Body being abused by those who claim to be teaching them His Word, His Truth. That is why things have not been going smoothly is because of that. The Body of Christ would much rather believe people's lies, manipulations and twisted truth, over Him. It's a domestic violence relationship that could end very badly depending on bad it keeps going.

All Yah wants is to show His kids how much He loves them, but the problem is that they don't even know what it means to be loved anymore. They don't even know what love is. They know what the world's definition of love is, but not G-d's. G-d's definition is the most important anyways. It won't be until they learn what G-d's love is like, or even how to love themselves again, that they start to learn their value and their worth. Once this is done, they will desire real love and not fake love. G-d will be desired once again. In the meantime, He is getting frustrated and tired of waiting on people who have no desire in wanting His real love, but only want the fake love that is temporary and means nothing. This is very much a sad situation. People have chosen to make fake love an idol, and will do anything to get it, but they won't spend time with the One who created them to love in the first place. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be for Yah!

All He wants is us...to love Him...and not just for Him to love us. Being in a relationship is work, and it takes effort from both parties. Not just from Him. If your life isn't going so hot, maybe take a step back and see how your relationship with Yah is. If you aren't putting in much effort and work, then I would say up your efforts. He doesn't want lukewarm love or even cold love. He wants the ones who want to go all in, and are on fire for Him! If we are being honest with ourselves, we would want that too!

Hello! Could you do headcannos of David from TLB with a S/O that it's super insecure about people leaving her?

heya, i've been sat on this one for awhile and i really am unsure how to answer this as i don’t really see this person melding well with david.

where i see david being somewhat understanding and patient in the beginning, i think his patience may run out if it’s a repeated issue; wearing him down or even irritating him at points when someone is repeatedly mistrusting his intentions. he’s very much in the present, wanting to have fun despite having traits like sarcasm and broodiness. the idea of him abandoning his s/o is laughable to him and the boys bc they’re already his! what more can he do to solidify that outside of what he’s already done?

i don’t see the relationship lasting unless his s/o was working on themselves to change said behaviours, thought patterns and so on. david is very much a: “lets get to the root of the issue and do something about it” kind of guy (where possible). he gets everyone has insecurities, but not when it’s the main focus of the relationship. he’s a creature of the night after all. he wants to have fun and not be held back by such things. he’s not a therapist either, its not his sort of shtick.

i believe david’s  a caring guy deep down. seeing his s/o insecure and afraid of abandonment breaks his heart. him and the boys are the loyalest bunch of vamps out there, despite their savage inhibitions! he can only prove it sm until a discussion will be brought up. expect honesty from him. the work must come from them, whilst he will do his part too. tho he's not privy to moving with change. stubborn is his middle name.

david himself most likely has issues pertaining to abandonment. seen through his undying loyalty to star and trying to bring michael into the bunch, even at the end. i think someone with these insecurities would clash with him. clinging does nothing short of pushing him away further. he’s akin to a scruffy yet sleek stray cat, free like a bat floating upon the winds at night. exuding qualities like: independence, self-sufficiency, etc. he needs that room to feel at peace and content with his afterlife (however blood, partying and never growing old can be such a thing).

in reality, he’s not going anywhere. if seeing him have fun with the boy's breeds insecurities it just reiterates the problem. he’s obviously capable of having bonds, even romantic ones. however, i feel that he’d be better in a friendship with this person, where the boys also help reassure them they’re never going to know abandonment or pain again. through that a romantic bond may occur once there’s been understanding on the reader's part that this is the truth that matters. none of them will grow sick, old or die! isn’t that beautiful?

then his devotion will shine through, which on a romantic basis is amplified by a thousand!

i’m aware that my interpretation of this may be harsh or discouraging, but it is as it stands. david isn’t the type to desert those he cares for so rest easy in that notion. everyone is entitled to their own opinions. in fact, i welcome differences and discussions! if he’s your comfort character, helping you get through something then i understand and am happy for you. we all have insecurities, deserving love and respect unconditionally. sorry this didn’t turn out the way you probably hoped. - mae

Hm, I think Neva is *somewhat* traditional 🤔. She likes to give and recieve flowers and confectionary, but she also likes giving and receiving unique gifts as well! For example; her original engagement ring was nothing more than a piece of thread Yuno found in his pocket, and to her that meant more than if he would have bought her one! So for Neva it isn’t really the gift thats important, its the meaning behind it!

Neva finds it very difficult to make friends, because of her trust issues and the things to have happened to her in the past, she keeps everyone at arms length. Especially in the beginning (ofc this changes througout her story, with her having a quite a few friends in and out of the Golden Dawn). Hm, I think the issues are due to trauma and because she doesn’t know how to communicate properly, so instead of telling people the truth and being honest, she just lies 😅.

Oh yes Neva’s parents loved her unconditionally! She could have done anything in her life and they would still love her. I think it’s helped her become confident in herself and her abilities, as well as helped her shape her personality (if that makes sense).

Ooo what Discordia values most in her friends, aside from Loyalty, is strength. In order to be her friend you have to be mentally, emotionally, and/or physically strong. House Faust isn’t for the weak or faint of heart. But I also think you have to have this kind of…warmth to be her friend, to help balance out her coolness, and you have to be able to challenge her in some way 👀.

3 To what extent does your OC believe in the value (or even existence) of true altruism? Do they see an unselfish concern for the welfare of others as being naïve or foolish? Or as a moral quality to which people should aspire?

Depends on which Discordia we’re talking about. When she was young, before she met Josele, she saw selflessness as being extremely foolish. Her family, especially her parents, used and became friends with people who they could gain from, so thats what Discordia was taught; only become friends/close with people that could help you step up in the world. If you became close/friends with someone just because of who they were, and not what they could offer, was very foolish to her.

After she met Josele and became best friends with her, Dia’s view changed. Not completely, but it did a bit. She still uses people, but doesn’t find selfless friendship as foolish as she once did. She saw the value in it, and realized that while she didn’t gain anything material from it…she does gain something else entirely.

im going to reference my thoughts on the characters from a note i wrote after playing through like ? chapter 4 for the first time. but honestly not miuch has changed. and just to preface this a good portion of my negative opinions come from the campfire scene in chapter 2 LOL like. when i first played the game i began disliking like more than half the characters here alone

First, a short (or as short as I can make it) primer on what the phrase "attachment styles" even describes. This is absolutely not attachment in the Buddhist sense of attachment/nonattachment as describing ways of responding to the transient nature of all things. BUT unlike the many anti-Jedi takes I've seen, attachment in this context absolutely isn't synonymous with love, either (good GOD no!!!!!).

Attachment styles describe a common grouping of traits that characterize how a person connects to others in relationships. Each one can only really be understood in context. Typical models have four attachment styles for adults: secure, anxious-preoccupied, avoidant (subdivided into fearful avoidant and dismissive avoidant), and anxious-avoidant. The last 3 are collectively referred to as insecure attachment styles, essentially styles which arise when people don't feel safe enough in one way or another to refuse acting on conditioned survival responses.

While most attachment theory is focused on how attachment styles affect compatibility in romantic relationships, the reality is these can come out in any type of interpersonal relationship. The overwhelming amount of literature is also targeted to straight people as a default, but these dynamics are just as real (possible even more prevalent since heteronormativity exposes us to increased familial trauma) for queer people.

Attachment styles begin forming in infancy and are very difficult to change, especially as a teen or adult. It's taken me personally over 14 years of dedicated practice to get like 75% of the way there. To call it merely a habit or a personality trait would be vastly underestimating the situation.

Please do not take any of the clickbait littered all over the internet about attachment styles at face value for anything, even fiction, because it's misinformed as fuck. And please don't use this post as IRL medical advice.

Also, to get a few things out of the way: no, the Jedi did not abuse Anakin. Chancellor Palpatine sure did though. No, the Jedi did not deserve Order 66. It's literally a fictionalized Holocaust. Yes, Anakin did need care and intervention he didn't get, but also yes, the Jedi did have some form of therapy. Given our society's piss-poor track record for helping traumatized children IRL, I doubt anyone here has room to throw shade on them.

If you do feel like this post is describing you or someone you know, THAT DOES NOT MAKE YOU EVIL. It is important to remember that human beings are immensely diverse. People of any one attachment style will still relate differently based on factors like risk tolerance, culturally imposed values, varying levels of altruism and self-interest, differing triggers and stress responses, levels of introversion/extroversion, and so on. Anakin is one example of the anxious-preoccupied attachment style put in a very extreme situation, in fiction, in the context of everyone watching/writing already knowing he would become Vader.

Secure Attachment

A secure attacher is someone comfortable relating to others and navigating healthy boundaries. They can give you space as needed without feeling abandoned, give and receive support without feeling smothered, communicate effectively in close relationships, and are comfortable showing vulnerability when it's appropriate to do so. Typically, this happens when a child's caregivers hit a nice balance of being emotionally available, allowing the child their autonomy, and fostering the natural development of emotional self-regulation skills.

I would posit the majority of Jedi are likely secure, as they are given plenty of socialization in the creche, their material needs are met unconditionally, they aren't expected to care for their caregivers and they are taught to be considerate of the impacts of their choices on others. The standard of emotional self-regulation for adult Jedi is high, but they're still allowed to co-regulate and seek help from eachother.

Secure attachment is considered the stablest state and the one in which relational concerns do not present a constant source of distress, disruption, or maladaptive survival behaviours. As such, it's also the style most conducive to practicing nonattachment in the Jedi sense of the word.

Anxious-Preoccupied (AP) Attachment

Anxious-preoccupied relational habits develop when a very young child's caregivers give care inconsistently or conditionally, or in adverse conditions where a child endures extensive coercion and abnormally high levels of uncertainty from an early age. In Anakin's case, while Shmi's parenting is fine, the fact that they could be sold apart from each other at any time, and that slaves are beaten and worse at their owner's whims, was a recipe for him to develop AP attachment.

The core mechanics of anxious-preoccupied attachment are driven by two trauma-based beliefs. 1.) An AP attacher fears connection can be witheld or love taken away from them at any time. 2.) An AP attacher does not believe they will be loved unconditionally and therefore feels they need to do something or else risk being disposed of.

Since the formative experiences come from an age when abandonment by one's caregivers all but garauntees actual physical death, many anxiously attached adults do not believe they could survive or function without their loved ones, or may find the thought so painful it represents a meaningless existence or a fate worse than death.

People with the AP attachment style may stay loyal to and stay close to someone who has hurt them regardless of how severely or how many times, even if they know the person is dangerous or malicious (like Vader does with Sidious). Because they see themselves as wanted only for what they can do/be/provide/live up to, they usually live in constant fear of being replaced in favour of someone better suited to their loved ones' wants and needs.

When triggered to the most extreme expression of their survival behaviours, an AP who loves you will do anything for you, no matter how difficult or painful it is for them- and sometimes even if it compromises their own moral integrity. They can be tempted to behave possessively or act out, but are also in danger of losing their own sense of self or having their autonomy subverted.

Often, the attempt to earn love comes out as some form of intense performance pressure: achieving enough, being funny enough, pretty enough, smart enough, helpful or useful enough etc etc. Taken with all the other signs of AP attachment Anakin shows, this is almost certainly the root of his hunger for praise.

"Earning" love usually also involves hiding the perceived "unwanted" parts of oneself, things like flaws, needs, vulnerabilities (this is why many APs struggle to say "No"). They may be unable to ask for support when it's needed, or may be able to ask but only in a very oblique/vague/stifled way. AP attachers tend to get very good at shrinking themselves emotionally or performing "acceptable" reactions (i.e. appearing contented or pleased when they're actually hurting). As would be expected of a slave.

This type of appeasement is almost certainly what Anakin is doing when he shuts down Ahsoka's attempts to get him to talk about his past as a slave, when he's vague with Yoda about his Force visions, when Padme has to ask him multiple times before he can tell her what's wrong, etc. It's basically a diffuse variant of the fawn response.
