A piece I made for Of Folk and Fable Tarot — a collaborative project where artists drew creatures and stories from their cultures. This is The Magician, as represented by Ivan Tsarevitch, the Fire Bird, and the Grey Wolf, a classic Russian/Ukrainian/Georgian fairy tale. I love me a good-hearted wolf shapeshifter!
The project has already been fully funded on Kickstarter (yay!) but give it a look if it sounds like your thing.

Alina: I’m great today! I feel positive. I feel creative. I feel motivated!
Alina *after searching for the fire bird for 2 hours, having to listen to Zoya’s constant complaining*: Ah… it was the coffee.

Time for another writing/editing session with Blue! Today's short story is about fire birds! As in, birds evolutionarily adapted to be on fire, not birds Blue has set on fire. An important distinction. This story is also less polished than last week's, so we'll have a bit more to do. Be prepared for cranky writing software - or, at least, crankier 😅
See you in a few ~

I DON'T THINK I EVER POSTED THIS HERE??? LOL TIME TO FIX THAT!!!
The eternal soul of the legendary blade, Galaxia takes the form of this flaming bird. It is rare that those are strong enough to hear her voice, less even see her in this state.
It is said that those that are worthy will feel her fire as nothing more than a warm and gentle embrace but to those that don't or are evil in nature then her fire burns unyieldingly.
This is my headcanon interpretation of Galaxia's soul. Everyone tends to envision her differently, sometimes a spirit akin to Fi from the Legend of Zelda, sometimes a warrior who's soul inhabited her own weapon after death. Some even interpret her as a completely different gender, or no gender at all.
But me? Burb. Not just any burb. Burb dragon. She's not very big either, more about the size of your palm, a light in the dark that guides those out of it.
It can be fun I think to see so many people have wildly different takes on the same thing. I think that's what makes the Kirby fandom so stinkin cool!
Galaxia herself in my AU, is actually quite flexible. Her element changes depending on her wielder if they have earned her favor or not.
