i hate when people--especially dc writers-- act like damian is bruce's only child "i have a son" "he's become a father"

bruce doesn't have a son, he has four, and a daughter. bruce didn't become a father the day damian was born, he became a father when he realized that he needed to help a little boy who wanted revenge for his murdered parents. dick grayson was introduced in detective comics #38 in april of 1940. that's 11 months, 11 issues, and 11 appearances after bruce wayne was first introduced. that's years before alfred, or barbara, or the first batman and superman interaction. batman has been a father since before the idea of extended superhero universes existed. this is not new, and the idea that it is is frankly insulting, not only to the character, not only to the fans, but to anyone who's ever had family they are not blood-related to.

How the Batfam Reacts to Dick and Jason Dating a Black Widow HC

Dick:

• He met you on a mission where you were partnered together

• Dick immediately recognized the emblem on your suit showing that you were a Widow

• He was suspicious at first thinking that you were still with the organization until he heard you talking about it

• “Dreykov stood no chance against the freed widows.” He heard you explaining to Wonder Woman, “I hope that they’re doing well on Themyscira”

• He knew that if you were in cahoots with Diana, you must be sound

• When you were on the mission, you started talking a lot

• You thought he was funny and charming and he thought you were smart and witty

• Dick liked that you could handle yourself in situations and that you had grown from everything that had happened to you, not crumble from it

• When the mission was over, you two exchanged numbers

• One day, a few months later, you texted him and said that you were looking to move to Gotham

• You wanted to know if he’d go look at apartments with you since he knew Gotham better

• He was so excited and despite him trying to play it cool, everyone knew that he was up to something

• He made the excuse that Wally was doing some apartment shopping and wanted to hang out that week

• Let’s be honest, when you find your apartment you probably hook up or have a Disney binge night

• After a wild weekend, he heads back to the manor and is glowing

• Always on his phone

• Is in a good mood

• Sneaks off during patrol

• The works

• Everyone knew that he must be dating someone, it was so obvious

• When everyone finally finds out that he’s dating a Widow, it’s because they follow him to your apartment

• He’s there to work on some detective stuff that was going around in Gotham

• You had your monitors set up and your suit laying over the sofa when Tim, Jason, and Steph broke in through the window

• You pushed Dick behind the coach, rolling to take cover while you drew a Glock that was tucked in your waistband

• “Stand still, hands where I can see them!”

• “Y/N/N, those are my siblings!” Dick said tackling you, “idiot siblings at that”

• “You’re dating a Widow?!” While Jason still had his helmet on, his sense of surprise was evident

• “You’re dating a Widow and you called her by a nickname?” Steph gawked, “Never in all my days-“

• “You guys can’t tell Bruce!” Dick said frantically, “Tim don’t you dare touch that com”

• “Too late.” Damian came into the apartment, giving it a once over and glaring at you, “So this is the distraction that has been plaguing Grayson.” “Is he paying you to court him?”

• Bruce came into the apartment later to haul his kids out after they had basically interrogated you about life and how you and Dick were dating

• Bruce was suspicious of you at first, as he is, but after a few weeks, you were invited to patrol with everyone

• You and Jason trauma bonded and shot guns together

• Cass and Damian liked you since you were an assassin, and a skilled one at that

• Steph liked you cause you were pretty and badass

• Babs and Timmy thought you were intelligent and a good friend to have

• Bruce and Alfred eventually come around, Bruce likes that you’re loyal and intelligent

• Alfred likes that you’re not a crazy clout chaser

• Everyone adjusts really well to you quickly, and you easily become part of the family

Jason:

• You two met while you were rehabilitating on Themyscira with Diana as your mentor

• You and Artemis had quickly become friends and she had you come with her on a mission

• You needed something at a faster pace that you could exercise your skills with

• Artemis introduced you to Jason and you two hit it off quickly

• She noticed this and had you two paired up for a mission

• She’s not Artemis anymore y’all, she’s Cupid/ Eros and she just shot Jason Todd in the butt with an arrow

• He’s so gushy over you

• Puppy dog eyes and everything

• At first he’s like, it’s got to be the Russian accent

• But after a few hours, he knew it definitely wasn’t the accent

• When you’re still living at Themyscira, he asks Artemis to take you on as many missions as possible so that he can see you

• When you’re finally done living on the island, he’s the first to offer a new place

• Wants you to live at once of his safe houses in Gotham

• You would accept the offer but you already had gotten an apartment

• Jason was so depressed about it until you told him that it was in Gotham

• “What- you’re like my only friend. I’m not moving to LA or something.” You told him

• He was just puppy eyes and gushy

• Everyone saw a change in his demeanor and they were suspicious of what was going on

• Steph and Dick followed him one night to your apartment where they saw you in your widow suit and him in his red hood suit eating messy burgers and fries

• His boots and helmet were strewn about on the floor and weapons were littering the kitchen table

• He probably has his head in your lap at one point for you to string your fingers through your hair

• They’re both excited and rush back to the cave to spill the beans

• A few days later Dick tells Jason that he should invite his new gf over

• “You dickhead how’d you know about that! We’re you stalking me?”

• Maybe Dick was

• When you showed up to the manor, Damian immediately challenged you to a sparing duel

• Everyone but Jason was hesitant and when you landed the kid on his butt he was beaming with joy

• That’s when you earned Cass and Tim’s respect

• Damian liked you now too, but he wasn’t going to admit it after that beat down

• Bruce got to know more about you mainly from Diana

• Since he trusted her, it was easier to not be so suspicious about you

• Alfred liked you since you brought out the good in Jason and you were good help when he needed it

• The entire family ends up liking you really quickly, but you have to start setting boundaries about them coming and crashing in your place at some ungodly hour of the night

• Sometimes, the last thing you want to see at 4am is Dick Grayson sprawled out on the coach with his dogs out

Arrows of light were passing through the white curtains illuminating the room. Your soft and calm snoring tickled Dick's ears, who had his face in his neck and his grip on your waist. He was waking up.

The smell of your shampoo filled his nostrils. He slightly opened his eyes to get used to the brightness of the morning sun.

Slowly and sweetly, Dick began planting kisses on her neck. Of course he wanted to let you sleep, but after you forced him to wake you up every morning right after him, he just agreed and did it.

"Morning, mama." The voice, hoarse from lack of use during the night, made you shiver.

You opened your eyes slowly and turned to Dick. You hid your face in his warm, bare chest.

"Hmmm, morning." You respond muffled. You lift your face to look at him. "I wanna sleep moreeee."

Dick laughed at your little drama. He wouldn't deny it, he also wanted to sleep more, however, now you and him had Johnny to worry about.

"We have to get up before-" You interrupt him

"Before our little acrobat wakes up." Dick smiles and you laugh. "I already memorized that."

"But before..." Dick looked closely at your lips. "My morning kiss."

Dick's lips touched yours in a delicate way. You two had already been married for five years, morning breath was no longer the problem.

"Ha!" A small body throws itself between the two of you making you break the kiss quickly. "Good morning, mommy! good morning, daddy!"

Johnny's sweet voice sounded happy and wide awake.

"Someone woke up earlier than expected." Dick said and you laughed "Good morning my big boy!"

"Good morning, my love" You said with a smile on your lips and kissed Johnny's forehead.

The little body entered the duvet next to you and Dick and snuggled into your arms.

"I had such a cool dream!" He started talking "I dreamed that Grandpa Bruce took me to a giant candy factory! Did you believe that mommy?!"

He said and looked at you with shining eyes.

"And what else?" Dick asked and Johnny smiled looking at his father

"Uncle Jay was there too! He helped me eat a lot of candieesss!" Johnny smiled but the smile was taken over by a pout "But I woke up before taking candies for you and mommy."

"It's okay, my love" You said and kissed the little boy's cheek.

"Can we sleepy more, mommy? I want to bring candies for you and daddy!" Johnny yawned.

Dick sighed in relief.

"Sure!" You smiled and Johnny laid on your chest

"I'll bring, mommy..." Johnny yawned again "I'll bring candies..."

Johnny's eyes closed and he fell into a heavy sleep as he hugged your body.

Dick smiled at the sight and noticed that you had fallen asleep next to the little boy.

Well, what was left for him was sleep too. Dick hugged Johnny's body close to yours, and lightly fell asleep with a smile on his face, feeling like the happiest man in the world.

Intro: The Games

Four princes. One princess. Your father, King Clark Kent of Metropolis made a contract with the King of Gotham, Bruce Wayne. The contract said there will be games for his four sons to win and the one who wins will get your hand in marriage.

Prince Dick Grayson is the eldest; it is said he's kindest, most generous and charming of all off them. Loved by the people and humerous. He'll often talk to random people and if he's out of the castle he gives coins to the poor.

Prince Jason Todd is the second eldest, he's the general of the soldiers and is always a winning leading warrior in battle. He has a trauma since an enemy kingdom, Joker's, had taken him and beaten him to death. Luckily the Lazarus Pit ressecuted him, but ever since he's not who he was before. He's rude, grumpy, angry, rough. But inside he's just a boy who needs to be loved and feel safe.

Prince Tim Drake. The second youngest. He's almost as smart as Merlin, really. He isn't a magician, but Merlin, the advisor of king Bruce, helps him with teaching him a lot of things about herbs and to heal, etc. he's always eager to learn, maybe sometime a bit too much since he always looses track of time. He's kind, but a bit moody. And doesn't really socialise well. He's quite distant and his walls (not literally but figeruly.) make sure it stays that way.

The fourth, last but not least, youngest, prince Damian Al Ghul Wayne. The only biological son of Bruce Wayne. He got first teached by his mother, to be a great warrior. Now he's with his father, learning everything he needs to know by a personal tutor because he refuses to be learning aside Prince Tim. (They have always had beef, it'll get only worse now that you'll arrive :d) He's a gentleman, but cold. He'll try to win you over by his charm but is distant and quite easily jealous too.

The games

1. The sword fights. (They'll have to fight till two winners stay over and the winner from that duel wins that game)

2. The joust. (Where each is on a horse, galloping towards each other with a lance and try to get each other off the horse)

3. Arrow and bow. (It's just bow shooting.)

I have so many reasons why I love JayRoy, but there is one that is a surprisingly big factor while also completely meaningless and coincidental, but adorable to think about.

Allow me to show you Lian Harper of Earth-22, aka the Kingdom Come universe.

This pretty freckled redhead is indeed, believe it or not, Lian Harper. Unfortunately there are no good pictures of her in her originating story.

Lucky for us, her and her team of Titans appear in Titans 23-25

and the team includes other Titans kids

Darkstar, (possibly) Robert Long, Donna's son Nightstar, Mar'i Grayson, Dick and Kori's daughter Kid Flash, Irey West, Wally's daughter Aquagirl, Tula, Garth's daughter

I'm not sure where the name "Darkstar" comes from if I'm completely honest, but Nightstar is obviously just smashing Nightwing and Starfire together, and the other two are legacy names. Lian's name is...not like that. And it's hilarious to me. Just...

You read that correctly. There is a future version of Lian Harper whose superhero name is Red Hood.

Now this is more because one of the names Roy used was Red Arrow, and with Arrowfam's whole Robin Hood schtick, Little Red Riding Hood seemed like a fun play. And this is before Graduation Day, so I'm not sure if Jason was even planned to return yet. It literally has nothing to do with Jason or Joker but that's kind of why I love it so much. This literally has nothing to do with who we know as Red Hood AND YET. THE CONNECTION IS THERE.

It's just one of those funny coincidences that I love.

You can tell Roy has a toddler because while not knowing this is also his daughter, he is talking to her like a naughty dog lmao

Despite the red hair, she looks like her mom...and as much as I hate Cheshire, that's still kinda sweet and really cute.

They're only there for a short while, and then the Titans forget they existed immediately after, but it's still nice.

This outfit also inspired my redesign for Lian's hero costume. I love the shoulder cape. Just give the hood some cat ears and we're good.

Lian is my favorite.

Headcanons

You would most likely have met Dick when he was still robin and joining up with the titans alongside Roy as you both were working under Oliver. You would both be able to use a bow and arrow, but you focused more on your other powers where Roy focused on the bow.

You have the ability of sound manipulation, echo location and mimicry, meaning you can mimic any other voice or sound. Meaning human voices, animal noises or anything really, even computer sounds or stuff like that.

I feel you and Roy would be closest in the beginning since you’ve known each other for way longer than you’ve known the team. Then over time you both get closer to the team, and you get along the most with Dick.

During missions you’ve always kept track of everyone using your echolocation, meaning your always clicking your tongue softly during the day, as its just become a habit and second nature at this point.

It becomes a sound that your team all come to expect and which ends up comforting them to some extent as they know your always keeping an eye out for them. So if you were to go silent over comms they’d know something was wrong.

As you grow older your relationship with Oliver suffers the same way his relationship suffers with Roy. You and Roy have different issues with your dad, but its enough to go low contact or cut contact completely outside of hero work.

You spend a lot of time trying to take care of Roy who’s spiraling even worse, and you end up leaning on Dick a lot during this time, making you two grow even closer as he’s the only person you can be vulnerable around.

During this time your feelings for each other really develop, but he knows you aren’t doing well mentally, and you know he’s in a similar situation to yourself with Bruce, so you both suppress your feelings.

At some point you both end up moving in together in Bludhaven, and you become a hero of that city alongside your dear friend and crush. When you upgrade your suit you end up making it a little more similar to nightwings, and less like Green arrows, which everyone notices but no one really mentions.

Dick immediately falls even more in love with you when he sees you wearing his colors or with a suit similar to his own. Which the team always uses to tease him and make him flustered.

As roommates you two live like you’ve done before, though you get even closer. Now that you live together you two end up cuddling a lot without really realizing. You hug each other, cook for one another, or just care for the other.

You sass him using your mimicry, meaning if he says something you’ll say it back in his own voice, or even copy your friends and teammates voices if you have too.

You’ve used your mimicry multiple times during patrols to catch criminals as you can copy their allies voices to make them put their guards down.

Working side by side only solidifies your feelings for each other, and you would confess your feelings during patrol one day, after you’ve just had to scream down some bigtime villain and you two were standing on a rooftop overseeing the police taking the villain away.

Dick would just be looking at you, watching you be so serious about what you do, and hed just confess right then and there without really meaning too.

Youd stop your clicking out of shock, turning to look at him with wide eyes as you quietly ask him what he just said. Dick would go red and start apologizing, saying he must have said something wrong, or you didn’t hear anything.

Then you take his hand and tell him you feel the same way, leading to you both standing there blushing. It ends up with you clearing your throat and saying you should get back to this conversation after the villain is put away, to which Dick agrees.

After you two get home from patrol that night you talk through your feelings and end up dating after making sure you’re both on the same page.

No one is surprised when you two start dating, your friends and family just casually tell you two they’ve been waiting for you both to come out with your feelings.

After all this time your relationship with Oliver has gotten better, and Dicks relationship with Bruce has gotten better too, so you both spend time with the others family. Though, you spend more time with Dicks family just because they’re a lot closer than your own.

The way you and Dick live doesn’t really change, as your both overly affectionate, just now you can kiss. Which you do, a lot. Dick loves to kiss you, so much. He’s waited all this time to be able to do it, so he can’t get enough.

Listening to you click your tongue for your echolocation is one of his favorite sounds, as he likes laying on your chest with his ear pressed against you so he can hear it even better. It comforts him and helps put him to sleep.

You both wear each other’s hero merch, there’s no question about that. Of course, nightwing is your favorite hero and you’re his favorite hero if anybody asks during the day.

Your friends and family are probably sick of how lovey dovey you two are even after months of being together, though Alfred would find it endearing since he’s just happy to see Dick so happy with someone.

Oren was here. So was Grayson. After getting yelled at, Avery left. She looked so sad and forlorn, he couldn't bear to look at her. Grayson took the first chance to talk to Jameson alone,

"what are you doing, Jamie? What do you have planned?" Jamie translated that to mean 'when are you going to come home?'

"I have planned, let me check, oh yes! Nothing," he said, using his signature smirk as a shield.

Grayson opened his mouth, then closed it, waited. "Are you breaking up with her?"

The eye contact was more than enough for an answer.

"I need space. I'll come back, don't worry about me."

That evening, when boredom overtook him again, Jameson found himself back at the devil's mercy. He'd gotten himself an apartment in London specifically for this reason. He genuinely enjoyed being a member. It was also the one place he couldn't be followed by Avery, or run into her. Zella wasn't here today, neither was Simon or anyone he knew, except Rohan. That bastard would jump at any chance to peeve him.

"I really should have placed a bet on the likelihood of you breaking up with Ms. Grambs. Would've filled my pockets."

God, he was infuriating. Why had Jameson come here?

"And I should have placed a bet on the likelihood of you shutting up, Rohan, would've filled my purses."

"Always the defender, Ms. Sinclair."

Jameson hadn't realised when a woman had come and sat next to him.

She was wearing the same historical garb-like dress every woman around here wore. Her long dark blonde hair fell in waves over her shoulders, which was unnatural around here, considering the few women that were there were too prim and proper to keep their hair as such. It was a minor detail, but one that made him feel she liked to defy.

Jameson spoke for the first time in a while, "Not that you would need the money, anyway, I presume."

The way she answers that was a clear insight into her. Most people here were money-hungry, or power-hungry, or greedy, prideful, meek- many distinguishing factors. Truthfully, Jameson had everyone in the room pegged about 4 seconds after he met them. Not this woman though, and it was unsettling him.

She just looked down at her cards that dealt her in and smiled.

She looked at him, still smiling grimly, then leaned in, "your attempt at trying to read me through my answers is… run-of-the-mill, at best."

That stole Jameson's attention. It surprised him. Things hardly surprised him anymore. It felt nice, except his mind reverted back to a certain ex-girlfriend.

Ex-girlfriend. It still didn't sound right to him.

"You need to read people instantly after you meet them because you're scared they'll show their true colours later, surprise you, and make you feel stupid and ordinary."

That struck him like an arrow. The woman, however, seemed to genuinely regret saying that, "apologies. I seem to have gone too far," she amended.

"A psychologist?"

"Just an underestimated woman, I'm afraid."

Who is she?

"Cinq" she suddenly uttered.

"What?"

"The cards. Cinq. I win." She looked at Rohan who nodded and handed her the chips.

Before he could add to that, she got up, "I'm running late, boys. Like always, I'll see you soon."

She pulled out a card.

"Though I'd like to see you sooner."

She had a mischievous glint in her eye, and before long, it was gone with her.

Jameson put it in his wallet and forgot about it. There was a lot of healing to do before moving on.

Jameson dreamt of Avery again that night. Even after saying his goodbye, she still haunted him everywhere he went. Every 5"6' brunette on the street, every coffee cup from her favourite coffee shop in London. He hadn't even changed his wallpaper that was a candid of her laughing.

And that was the problem. She was still… her. So her. Just too burdened. But that wasn't an excuse.

Avery was… calling him. Wait

Avery's calling me.

"Hello?"

"I'm outside."

"Avery, please. Just leave me-" Jameson said, walking toward her standing outside.

With a hot air balloon.

"Hop on."

"We're broken up."

She looked like someone had just stabbed her. How many times was she going to make him repeat the same painful thing?

"One date. Just one, please."

He sighed, "why?"

"Why won't you let me go? The you I've seen the last few years would've been about as interested as a porcupine is cuddly."

"I can't. I can't even think of letting you go. I have so many versions of my dreams for the future, and they all end up with you. I chose you a long time ago. I want to choose you again and make you feel it too."

"Just one date, mystery boy. I'm begging you."

Avery might just be better than Jameson at planning dates. It was perfect.

Staring with the hot air balloon ride where he had to take over because she almost crashed them down. Bunjee jumping in Perthshire. Abseiling. An insane game of dares. Ending with them sunbathing on the shore of the cove, with chocolate-covered strawberries and stars in a bottle.

"I liked today. Wait, no. I loved today" he might still have his reservations, but he needed to tell her that. She held his hand and squeezed it gently.

"Me too." After silence and a few more strawberries, "Will you please come back with me now? We really need to be home."

Jameson's relaxed face suddenly adopted a frown.

"Why? What's so important that we need to go back?"

"I can't stay away too long."

"It's been, like, 4 days." Avery said nothing. Jameson abruptly got up. She did too.

"This is just a chore to you isn't it? An inconvenience."

She went pale again, "No. Jameson, no. I came all the way here looking for you, trying to get you back."

Miguel O'Hara - but Bruce Wayne

Miguel O'Hara as Batman

Miguel being a billionaire whose left the sole caretaker of his younger brother Gabriel when his parents are gunned down after a late-night play.

Left with the fortune and legacy of Alchemax, Miguel falls into dispair - and comes across a classified operation conducted by his father, a super potent and super addictive drug.

Rapture.

Not knowing, Miguel tries it once, and he finds himself hooked.

Over months the situation worsens. Gabriel gets worried about his older brother.

In search of answers, Gabriel discovers the truth - the source of Raptures creation. Their father having developed a hard-to-replicate super drug as a way to control Nueva Gotham's underground drug trade, funding Alchemax with laundered money.

Gabriel almost became a whistleblower, leaking the news to the press - but instead, he was killed by gunmen funded by Alchemax.

After Gabriel's death, Rapture floods Neuva Gotham's streets.

In less than a week, addiction skyrockets across the city.

Horrified at the discovery and the loss of his brother, Miguel seeks out a way to reverse his addiction - and undo the unspeakable corruption caused by his father.

Instead, his own invention does more harm than good - turning him into the The Spider-Man.

He fights crime in his usual blue and red suit except the blue is black and he has a cape all the time now

The Spider-man fights crime by being a 'bug on the wall', undermining and brutalizing Nueva Gotham's underworld, trying to find the people who leaked Rapture to the streets - and ordered the murder of his brother.

Hobie being Jason Todd - the Robin Miguel first meets while the kids is stealing his tires. The kid who trashes the O'Hara Manor, gets a little too excited about kicking ass and talking back and beating up cops.

Killed by The Goblin aka Joker + Green Goblin together - Revived - HATES Miguel now.

Goes by Spiked Hood

Gwen being Tim Drake - the Robin that stays up until 3am. More into techie stuff. Close with Miguel but no where near the way he is with Pavitr. But she loves her siblings and half the time feels like the only Sane one.

GABRIELLA AS DAMIAN WAYNE!!!! Xina being Thalia (minus the weird ummm uncomfy origins of Damian)

Gabbie being Miguel's one blood child who he didn't raise from birth but met later. But he trains and raises her anyway. She's a natural at it. A bit ruthless considering the whole, raised by assassins thing though.

But she ADORES her older siblings though she'd never admit it. She hangs with her older brother Pavitr ALL THE TIME, especially after Pavitr becomes NightWing in Mumblud Haven (or Bludbai if you'd like)

She thinks Hobie is so cool, especially when he comes around with Starfire and Red Arrow (aka DiscoSpider Diane and Captain Anarchy Karl Morningdew). The three of them calling themselves Spiked Hood and the Outlaws - in reference to Hobie's spiked and hooded outfit.

Since Pavitr lives in Bludbai and Hobie dislikes Miguel - Gwen and Gabriella are the only ones who still live in the manor with Miguel and his e-maid Lyla - who is now full sized like Alfred, but still AI.

There's a spider signal in the sky.

J.Jonah is Commissioner Gordon. And every time he sees Miguel he's talking shit about vigilantes despite having to work with him cause Nueva Gotham is such a shit hole.

Miguel is still tired as hell because he's on patrol and gets a call from Lyla talking about how Hobie set fire to the manor curtains again 'but on purpose this time'

Random DC Headcanons: Roy and Lian Harper (Relationships) Part 2

Lian Harper's non-Arrow relationships as of Dawn of DC

Dick Grayson- Whenever she asks her dad about Dick, she notices the sad tone in his voice. Lian wonders what Dick did or didn't do.

Victor Stone- Lian has fond memories of him, but is sad that she doesn't get to hang out with him as much.

Gar Logan- She is sad that Gar has died, but she knows that he'll be back.

Garth- She knows that he looks different from the last time she saw him, but she chalks it up as the same reason why her dad is missing his Navajo tattoo. She misses Ceridian and wonders why hasn't he come back yet.

Wally West- She knows that it wasn't his fault that her dad died. She often talks to him and Jai and Irey about being lost in time and how things have changed. Lian and the twins play video games together whenever they come over to each others' house. She likes Wade and is planning on teaching him Black Canary's finger trick when he's a little older.

Donna Troy- She knows Donna and her dad have tried and failed to be a couple, but she admits that she still "ships" them. She and Donna reconnect over Lian's drawings.

Koriand'r- Lian loves to draw her, even though she thinks she can't really do her justice. Kory loves the drawings anyway.

Rachel Roth- Lian isn't as close to her as she is with Donna and Kory, but she likes it when she comes along and hangs out with them.

Jason Todd- Lian doesn't like Jason very much. It is mostly because she remembers him hurting Mia Dearden. She asked her dad about why he was hanging out with Jason and, judging by his tone, it is clear that he doesn't like talking about Jason.

Grant Emerson- Lian wants to see him again and see if he's okay.

Bonus relationship headcanons-

Aside from her reminding him about Jason, Roy is okay with Selina Kyle. Roy thinks Lian could have done a whole lot worse with possible mentors. FYI- his idea of the worst mentor for Lian- Deathstroke.

Roy wants to get to know Billy and Skidmark. To him, they are to Lian what the Titans were to him.

How Would I Do….An Official DickKory Wedding Had I been in Charge if DC Comics

To clarify, the following proposal takes place within my version of a reboot for DC Comics Mainline books and continuity, as per my pinned post.

To catch everyone up to speed to when this will take place:

Two Event comics would’ve by now took place (Dawn of Fire and War of the Supervillians)

In between said events, Titans Leader Nightwing aka Dick Grayson would’ve had his secret identity discovered by a crime boss in Bludhaven with a massive grudge and used against him, more or less ruining his life and leaving the black and blue clad alter-ego wanted by the state Bludhaven is within with a massive bounty for a crime he didn’t commit (Clipped Wings and it’s subsequent Batfamily crossover Blue Hawk Down)

At the same time, the rest of the Titans would be attending to a crisis in space no doubt Tamaran related which leaves Starfire aka Princess Koriand’r emotionally shook to her core, and the B team of the Titans split with Red Arrow aka Roy Harper forming his own splinter anti hero team called Arsenal Inc. this combined with other unfortunate events to an entire half of the Titans leaves Wally West and Tempest aka Garth with no other options but to travel through time and ask for help from….themselves, their young Teen Titans selves, to which the Fab Five agree to and they travel forward in time and resolve to stay in this new future until things are set right. (See here)

Before the events of War of the Supervillains, Dick and Kory, now more or less in temporary retirement, are able to meet up with one another and share their experiences and interpersonal matters between them. Sure both are emotionally exhausted and burnout by recent events in their lives but they go through their issues together and strive to stay together, whether it be at Haly’s Circus once again traveling across the country or Kory taking a residence at Key West, Florida.

Once War of the Supervillains wraps up and status quos are reinstated especially for the Titans, Dick and Kory’s relationship is now stronger than ever before, thus leaving a pathway to their marriage wide open. Thus in this post, we shall cross it.

For a bit if Meta context , both Dick and Kory would have solo books in addition to Justice Titans at the very start of the reboot, released around the same time. So about around the 74th issue, what I had in mind was that the wedding would be a Seven Part Storyline with the following books in order:

An Alpha Issue (The Issue to which Dick, with a subplot in his solo book up to here would be finding a perfect ring for Kory once they approach the altar, and Kory finalize their plans for the wedding, their place, their minister/priest and all they talk of all the implications that can come from such)

Then Starfire #74 (We see her perspective of the big day fast approaching while the sub plot can deal with her further reconciliation with her sister Empress Komand’r aka Blackfire and as of this point in her solo book, her attempts to reconnect with her younger brother Ryand’r aka Wildfire starting to bear fruit; both siblings are given their perspectives of this wedding)

Then Nightwing #74 (On the flip side we see Dick’s perspective as he finally moves back to Bludhaven after Bruce Wayne and senator Janet Drake are finally able to lift the Wanted Bounty off Nightwing and find him innocent of all charges. We see the reactions of his fellow Haly’s Circus crew members and friends within the city of his upcoming wedding and their words they can give to the Boy Wonder)

Then comes the triple whammy of…

Justice Titans #74 (The main A team; other members besides Nightwing and Starfire are Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven and a resurrected and fully heroic Terra)

Titans #74 (The B team; consisting of Troia, Red Arrow, Tempest, Wally West Flash, Omen, Herald and Bumblebee)

And Teen Titans (The time displaced Fab Five of Robin I, Wonder Girl I, Aqualad I, Speedy I and Kid Flash Wally) #14;

These three take place on the Wedding Day itself but with a twist. They’ll fend off multiple supervillain attacks orchestrated by Benito ‘Boss’ Zucco (son of Anthony ‘Boss Zucco; see here) so that Dick and Kory can have their wedding in peace*. All the while each issue focuses on a particular character in their book and their perspective on the events unfolding. For example, Robin!Dick would be the one giving his thoughts about his future self’s wedding in Teen Titans.

Then finally a double-sized Omrga Issue (in which via a ceremony that combines Tamaranean and Human customs, I.e. the rings and the “You May Kiss the Bride”, Dick and Kory FINALLY are wedded together in harmonious matrimony. We follow that up with the reception attended by Batfamily members, the Titans, the Justice League, Komand’r with her royal court and even the time displaced Titans, allowing both present!Dick and Past!Dick to meet face to face. This issue and the storyline end with Dick and Kory beginning their journey across the galaxy for their Honeymoon)

Within the Post-Wedding aftermath, I’d combine the Nightwing and Starfire solo books into one.

Now it’ll be called ‘Nightwing & Starfire: The Flying Graysons’, starting with issue #75

Side Notes:

*This follows a a similar plot point within the Wedding of Reed Richards and Sue Storm aka Mr Fantastic and The Invisible Woman in the pages of Fantastic Four

At the wedding itself, yes indeed Tim Drake, despite being technically older than the standard age ranged can be the ring bearer for Dick and Kory, out of wanting to take some part for his big brother

“So.” Jason casually traces his fingers up the muscled planes of Slade’s bare chest. “How long do you think this job will take?”

He deliberately doesn’t look the older man in the eye, choosing instead to tangle their legs together beneath the covers, and ignoring the way his heart beats faster when Slade pulls him close.

“Told you, kid.” Lips brush against Jason’s hair. “It’s gonna take a while. Hard to give a specific timeline. Could be four months. Maybe five.”

Jason ignores the way his eyes sting. He’s not gonna fucking cry because the guy he’s been fucking is going away for a few months. No way. It’s not like he’s gonna miss Slade.

“You’re not gonna be in Gotham for another five months?” Jason swallows, his voice thick.

What’s there to miss anyway? The sex is good, sure, but it’s not as if Jason can’t get sex elsewhere. And he doesn’t need all the stuff that’s started to come with the sex lately; watching movies together and eating meals together and talking about their fucking lives-

“It’ll fly by,” Slade says softly, squeezing Jason’s bare ass. “Besides, you’ve got plenty of options when I’m not here. Grayson, Drake, your redhead friend with the arrows-“

“I don’t want options,” Jason blurts out. “I want you.”

He buries his face miserably in Slade’s shoulder. The truth is there’s no one who could possibly fill the void that Slade will leave. And he doesn’t want anyone to.

“Jason.” Slade tilts the younger man’s head up by his chin. “You know I have to do this. I accepted this contract a while ago. Don’t pout at me like that.”

“I’m not pouting,” Jason mumbles. “It’s just…it’s such a long time.”

He hates how whiny he sounds.

“C’mon, kid. Don’t get bratty with me now.”

Slade’s voice is soft, fond. He strokes Jason’s cheek gently. It’s that familiar tone that has Jason’s stomach doing somersaults.

“Will I be able to call you?” Jason asks quietly. “Or text at least?”

He hates how pathetic he sounds. How desperate.

“Sure, kid. Can’t promise every day, but there’ll be time to talk.”

Jason’s tongue feels heavy. “And will you have…options too?”

He’s suddenly pulled into a kiss, gentle but thorough. His heart hammers in his chest.

“Sweetheart. There’s only one option for me now. There’s only been one option for me for a while now.”

“You’re a sap, old man,” Jason laughs, finally allowing the tears to fall. “Knew you liked me all along.”

Slade chuckles, cupping Jason’s face in one large hand. “You’re gonna be a good boy for me while I’m gone, aren’t you, Jay? You’re gonna be on your best behavior.”

Jason rolls his eyes. “Yeah yeah. I won’t cause trouble.”

“You sure about that kid? Last time I went away I seem to recall you started a gunfight with some of Sionis’ men.”

“Oh my god, it was not a gunfight. Jesus. Don’t worry, I’m not gonna do anything crazy. Just…hurry back, okay?”

Slade smiles. “You know, kid, I used to avoid coming to Gotham at all costs. I used to think it was the biggest dump on earth. But now its my favourite place in the world. Every time I leave I can’t wait to come back.”

It’s the closest Slade has ever come to saying that he loves Jason.

And for now that’s enough.

Jason tries to memorise Slade’s scent and the feeling of his lips, his hands, his skin, as they kiss.

It’s going to be a long five months.

honestly I barely know how I got here. until recently, the only comic i’d ever read was 2 issues of matt fraction hawkeye when it was first coming out and old tintin books as a child. then 2 months ago I encountered WFA and read some of it on a whim, checked out batfam related stuff on tumblr and ao3 and just kinda hung around for a bit getting the lay of the land. and then I rapidly got fixated on dick grayson (eldest child of all time), and found people talking about and analyzing specific comics stuff instead of general fandom, started reading them, and found that so much more interesting. then like a week ago I saw someone mention outsiders 2003 and started reading it and got very obsessed with its portrayal of destructive grief and dick and roy’s interpersonal dynamics, and then started getting into arrow stuff. and now im in love with dickroy and I stan ollie queen.

I’m currently still working my way through outsiders (a little slow going bc the art is mostly not my style) and other stuff from around that time in canon, just read through green arrow 2023, and am starting green arrow: year one (2007)! I am very open to recs, particularly any related to dick or roy
