#it seems a bit random because I don’t think this conversation we’re seeing is about Will but if I’m right maybe they were talking about him

Theory about the ending of the vid (it’s gonna take ages to figure out the whole thing if it’s even possible 😭). I could be totally off base but:
At the end here they have a bit of a joke, and then El seems to say something to Mike and he darts his eyes away multiple times, kind of nervous-seeming all of a sudden? And makes a face like he’s trying to act innocent or clueless or something? Idk how to explain it you have to watch. But it made me think…what if she asked him about Will? It cuts off way too quick to get more info but:
Slowed it down and added the words I made out
My baseless (for now, except this^) theory: what if Mike found out how Will feels and is in denial, and El knows about their predicament somehow. More context from just before this moment: from what I could tell, the thing they were joking about seemed like a thing El was worried he wouldn’t want to do now that they’re friends. But when he said ‘of course’ (very easy to make out) they can, maybe she was like hmm but how would Will feel?? Idk just an idea I’m chewing on…..
Update: not sold on this idea anymore but look here for a breakdown of the whole video

It was a call from your brother. On the other end of the phone, he was begging you to come over and entertain them at dinner.
“It’s good to see you,” your brother had said earnestly when you had walked up. He wrapped you in a hug, one you sunk into.
“Tyler is at a friend’s place. It’s good for him to get out, he’s been struggling with friends.”
“He’s been doing fine at practice?”
He shuts the door behind you, “I mean at school, he’s been complaining that they’re immature.”
His wife calls from further in the house, appearing from a corner to come and greet you. She’s always been welcoming, but the relationship between you still feels fresh. The table was already set, the dishes laid out on the table.
“How’s Tyler been at practice other than the friends he’s been making?”
“Oh he’s picking it up well,” you slide the chair closest to the window out to sit, “cocky as ever, but he’s doing well.”
“Good. What do you think of the coach?”
An uncomfortable look is shared between him and his wife, it makes you feel small. The look they shared felt usually like they knew something you didn’t, or that they had to walk on eggshells around you.
“She’s great,” you defuse the silence, “We don’t have to talk about any of that, I’m moving on.”
“Sweet, we just care to check in,” she finally steps into the conversation. You could tell your brother wanted to hash it out yet again, saying it’s because he cares but you’ve said the conversations make it worse. When your mind wants to forget about it, the constant back-track doesn’t help.
“Tyler’s coach and I are talking.”
The sentence had him stuttering, shock written on his face, “when? And how?”
His wife has a similar look on her face, but the small smile on her face eases the pressure in your chest.
“The situation’s a bit different from how you two met. A man hit on me, remember what I talked about last week? She scared him off, we introduced ourselves, and started saying hi whenever we saw each other.”
He points a finger at you, “that’s different. Do you like her?”
“She slipped her number in my coat pocket, I’d say we’re both interested.”
“It probably took you a day to realize it was there.”
You attempt to hide your smile but it’s futile, and the two laughs at the sight. He sighs and leans back in his seat, no longer hunching over the table, “I also wanted to ask how your job’s been going? You still with that company?”
“I’m staying with them unless they refuse to give me a raise, the amount they’re giving is barely enough to cover rent.”
He hums, “if you need anything, we’re here.”
You smile as a thank you and divert the conversation away from you by asking about their lives. They’re always eager to, their body language becoming more open and relaxed once they begin to. It could be a result of overthinking, but at times you feel most conversations surrounding you are negative. The one you just had about your nephew’s coach was the first time you collectively connected positively.
.˚₊┈୨♡୧┈₊˚.
Within a second of closing the door to your apartment, your phone lit up the dark room. It was hurting your eyes, but you had never really cared to check who the recipient was until this moment. It wasn’t formatted properly, the text sent in a rush. The text read, “call me when you can,” just with random spacing and two misspelled words.
You debated waiting in hopes to seem hard to get, but you couldn’t wait any longer without hearing her voice. So you pressed on her contact, pressing your phone to your ear and sliding your shoes off in the foyer.
“Is everything alright,” you began, a small amount of concern bleeding into how you spoke.
“It can be,” she says, the pause between her words almost suffocating, “you deserve a nice dinner, and I will take you to one if you so wish to. But I have a formal event later tonight and need a plus one, I-“
“I’ll go as your plus one.”
“Oh wonderful. Thank you, thank you. I’ll come to your place at 9.”
She ends the call right after and you’re thankful she did. You can feel your heart fall out from your chest with the pitiful ache forming. If it were to be nerves or excitement, neither you nor your mind fully understands the difference.
With the lights now turned on it causes you to squint due to the sudden onset of light. You stumble to find your bedroom to open your window and let fresh air in. The projected event later that night turned your stomach into knots and mind into a blank slate of irrational anxiety. It was sudden and unexpected, but it was welcomed. What wasn’t welcomed was the following emotions, like anxiety.
The sun had settled under the surface, turning your room orange. With the sun lowering it set your alarm off. The tv across from you shut off and you slid off your bed.
Each minute passed while you got ready, and so did an alarm. Rather it was better to have three annoying alarms remind you of how much time you had than to be rushing out late. You had to remind yourself of that when it went off while you were in the shower, scaring you.
The parking lot was empty save for four cars in their assigned spots. Wanda had called earlier with questions on where you lived and if she had to do anything to get through the complex’s gate. Five minutes later here she was driving towards you.
A shaking hand reached towards the car door, opening it. She continued to watch you as you shut the door, you knew based off of feeling her eyes on you. It made your mind blank.
“I want to thank you again,” she admits, looking to you occasionally as she drives towards her friend’s estate. “It was last minute. I forgot about it until I saw the reminder on my phone.”
You smile at her, “you’re fine. What’s the event for?”
“My friend from college is getting married, this is some sort of together party. It doesn’t make sense and that’s just because they’re wealthy.“
“Who’s the wealthy one?”
“In a way both of their families are, but the bride’s family has a stable job set out for her.”
“How’d you meet?”
She stops at a red light, the color highlighting a side of her face when she turns towards you.
“She was in a class of mine. Connected over a terrible professor. I’m still surprised he still teaches there when all he does is read off of a slide show.”
You roll your eyes dramatically, “figures.”
When she parks, it’s behind a car brand you know is high on the market. It’s fun to dress nice, but it’s another thing when it feels like you’re playing dress up.
Wanda comes to your door, opening it for you and smiling when you fall forward into her. Your foot had fell between the crack of grass and concrete, twisting it and causing you to lean further into her chest.
“I don’t know anyone here expect for my friend, so you have no reason to fear me walking away. I’m in the same boat as you,” she whispers while shutting the car door behind you. A hand stays on your back as you two walk towards the lit up building.
The only awkward part of the night was when she greeted her friend, causing you to stand beside her as she did so. You pay it no mind though, appreciating the way she introduced you into the conversation. You give an occasional response, smiling politely to pass the time until they bid their goodbyes.
“I feel miserable,” she begins, walking you further into the house, “I dragged you into this.”
“You didn’t drag me into anything. I choose to come.”
She looks relieved, her expression now at ease. Her fingers grasp a glass near her, bringing it toward you for you to take.
“I would like to know you more,” she says while taking one for herself, “did you do another sport besides ice skating?”
“I tried soccer, hated it.”
She leans into the counter, facing sideways as compared to you. Her tone easy when she speaks, “what happened?”
“I didn’t like the competitive nature.”
“Did you competitive ice skating? What’s different?”
“You’re actively going against another team. I enjoy being competitive, I don’t like working with a team against another team.”
She hums, shaking her head in disbelief, “I would be crazy to believe that. I need to play with a team.”
You mock her hum, “of course you would.”
A faux offended expression comes on her face, “what’s that supposed to mean? Thought you said I’m a great coach.”
“You are, you just fit the criteria to enjoy a sport where you ram into others and shove a small puck around.”
“Is that why you said I’m a great coach?”
“You won’t let that go, huh?”
She scoots closer, “not until you tell me why.”
You roll your eyes a second time, laughing and pushing her back. She shrugs, “when a pretty woman compliments your teaching style, it’s important to know why so I can continue.”
You look at her incredulously. Unconsciously all nerves you had before beginning to fade away as the night continues. She’s easy to talk to and tease, a contrast from you’re used to.
“You’re genuine.”
“In what, I need more. In how I shove your nephew around? In what?”
“You’re an absolute dork. I mean in how you treat the boys, you care about them. Like you cultivate relationships with them. Even mix of stern and supportive.”
“Some coach expert you are, who’re you comparing me to.”
You have a choice to opt out, but she has an air of freedom. A feeling that you want to fall into more, so you open up that space.
“My mom.”
“Oh,” she gets closer, making your heart race, “I’m sorry.”
“It’s alright, she’s in jail now. Long gone.”
“Shit wow, okay,” Wanda laughs, an endearing grin on her face, “you’re full of history.”
A couple of drinks and long conversations later, you begin to pull away from the party. The atmosphere was calm on the drive home. With the gentle hum of the AC and Wanda’s presence, it lured you to lean fully into the car door beside you.
“If you’d like to sleep, go ahead. It’s pretty late.”
You glance to the clock, finding the numbers 2:00 glaring back at you. A sigh comes from you, “no.”
“Okay,” she mumbles, her husky voice cracking at your resolve. You watch her side profile, a hand under your head.
“You have a slight accent,” you begin and she cuts you off, apologizing for whatever reason.
“What? I was going to say it’s attractive.”
She huffs, looking a bit shocked, “thank you. It might be because English isn’t my first language.”
“What is it,” you ask tiredly, resisting how your eyes are practicing closing.
“It’s Sokovian. And doll, sleep. I promise I don’t mind.”
You didn’t have the energy to respond, the last coming from you being a muffled him before you drifted off. Twenty or thirty minute could’ve passed, but you woke when you felt the car turn at the strange loop getting off the highway. A slight headache begin to appear as you slowly woke up.
“I was about wake you,” she laughs softly, “you seemed to know we’re almost back.”
You groan with a hand in your head, “I regret sleeping, my head hurts.”
“Poor baby, do you have medicine?”
You nod at her question, reaching below to grab at your stuff that had fallen by your feet. The complex’s lights come into view and you’re almost thankful to lay down in your actual bed. What a gift it is to be able to do so.
“Thank you,” you start, “I had a wonderful time. I’m so sorry for just knocking out there at the end.“
“No worries,” she parks the car out front and you can feel the nerves from before spark.
“I would like to see you again,” you say quietly, looking into her eyes, “if that’s okay.”
“Love to. I can get you after practice Tuesday.”
The shyness comes back, everything within you burning at the idea of seeing her again. Your lungs heave in air looking at her, and she knows with the way she begins to smirk weird.
“You’re a goof,” you say finally, moving to climb out of the car. She laughs and waves you off.
Once finally in bed, you weren’t able to sleep with the way you kept replaying the way she was looking at you. It was dangerous, each one pulling you further into her.

“Oh, my god! I LOVE Kendrick Lamar!”
Your voice rings out through the party you’re at. You always get loud, but it’s not like anyone is sober enough to care. The boy in front of you, some random frat guy with average frat guy music taste, is conversating you about different bands. He smiles, throwing his head back and laughing at your excitement. He’s cute, with sandy blonde hair and and green eyes.
He’s not Ethan or Chad, though.
And you know that. But neither of two boys seem to, because they’re death staring you and the frat boy from across the room.
Chad’s jaw is clenched, hands gripping his drink harshly, as Ethan’s cold stare examines the way you move your body towards him. An innocent little sway of your hips, but Ethan knows better. He knows that move.
When you walk away from the frat boy, his number now innocently resting in your pocket, you make your way over to Ethan and Chad.
“Hey, guys!” You excitedly bring Chad into a hug and kiss Ethan on the cheek. They give you the cold shoulder, however, and ignore you. You frown, not knowing what you did wrong.
“Are you both okay? You look-”
“Shut up,” Chad snaps. “We’re going home.”
Your mouth snaps shut, but then forms into a pout.
“Why are you being so mean? I wanna stay…”
“We don’t really care what you want.” Ethan says. His hand grabs your wrist and he tugs you to him. Him and Chad begin to direct you to your car, and you follow them, irritated.
Usually Ethan lets you sit in the floorboard when Chad drives, lets you rest your cheek against his thigh while he strokes your hair. And sometimes, when Ethan drives, Chad lets you rest your head in his lap in the backseat.
But this time, Ethan shoves you into the back without even a look at you.
He gets in the passenger side, and Chad throws your bag in the back with you. He begins to drive and you glare at him in anger.
“I was having fun.”
Ethan chuckles. “Yeah, sure you were. With that fucking idiot in the backwards hat. What was his name?”
You realize that they’re jealous, and you roll your eyes.
Chad sees your reaction in the mirror and looks back at you through the reflection to give you a harsh stare.
“Don’t roll your fucking eyes at him. Answer the goddamn question.”
You shrug nervously, your attitude slightly wavering at Chad’s tone. Your pink acrylic nails tap against the door handle. The place you’re driving at is mostly empty. It’s 3 a.m, after all, and the party was away from the city.
“He was just some guy named Alex. He gave me his number because he wants to hang out together at his frat wednesday night to talk about the class we share. It’s no big deal.”
“Yeah,” Ethan scoffs. “I’m sure that was the reason. He’s just trying to get into your pants.”
You frown.
“He was just being nice…”
“Baby, guys like that aren’t being nice unless they want something.” Chad cuts in. His tone is soft. Sometimes he gets scared your naiveness might get you into trouble. Both him and Ethan have to think for you most of the time, after all.
But of course, you still have that snarky attitude.
“Whatever…” you mutter. “He’s probably better in bed, anyway. Maybe I’ll still go.”
Chad’s eyes narrow, his hand tight on the steering wheel, and Ethan turns around to look at you angrily.
“That mouth is gonna get you into trouble, bitch. I would stop while you’re ahead.”
“Or what?”
And then Chad is pulling the car over, the road empty and deserted. Both him and Ethan are fuming, and they unbuckle their seat belts and stalk over to your door. When they open it, Chad leans over to roughly undo your seat belt. Your eyes are wide, face flushed.
And then Chad pushes you down, turning your body over and bending you at your knees. He yanks your skirt up, and your underwear down. He hits your ass with a hardened force, and you cry out, hands scrambling to hold yourself up as he spanks you.
“N-no! ‘M sorry.. I won’t ever do it again, sir!”
“Unless I hear a safe word, I’m not stopping.” Chad growls. He spanks you again, harder. Your ass stings, incredibly so. “You get five hits from me, and then Ethan is going to give you five more. Is that understood?”
You nod, ass backing up against the boy’s hand more. Although you love the feeling and only have three hits left from Chad, you dread the time when Ethan has to punish you. Even if he’s the smaller of the two, he’s the meanest.
Chads hand comes down on you again, and your body surges forward in the warm leather seat. Your pussy clenches, flooding with wetness, and the boy’s hand comes down one last time. You moan at the sting, and he rubs your ass soothingly before moving out of the way so Ethan can finish the job. And when Chad goes over to the other side of the car to get into the seat beside you, he begins to stroke your hair. it’s a form of comfort; he knows how harsh your shared boyfriend can be, and always stays beside you in case you get too overwhelmed.
You can feel Ethan’s soft palms press against you, and you tense. The sting of his harsh hits doesn’t come, however.
Because his hands move from you, and down to his belt.
Your eyes widen when you hear the sound of the metal buckle coming undone. He pulls it through the loops of his jeans, and you feel the leather up against your ass.
“You know I don’t like doing this stuff, sweetness.” Ethan sighs. “But you need to be disciplined.”
And then the belt is cracking down. You cry when it hits your skin, tears welling in your eyes, but Ethan just chuckles dryly.
“Don’t cry on me now. You asked for this.”
You sniffle. “Sorry, sir.”
Ethan rolls his eyes, and spanks you again. It’s harder than the first, and it fucking hurts.
But of course, that doesn’t stop you from being extremely turned on. Your legs are shaking, your tight little cunt begging for release. But you know it probably won’t come, not for the rest of the night or tomorrow. Another one of Ethan’s forms of harsh punishment; he doesn’t like other men being around you except for Chad, and he has little patience. You knew this, of course. You don’t know why you do this to yourself.
The second hit. Your body practically flattens itself to the seat, your ass clenching to prevent the harsh sting of the belt. You try to crawl away from the painful hits, but Ethan notices, and inhales sharply through his teeth.
“Don’t do that,” he grunts. He grabs your legs and pulls you back to him roughly, and you mewl. “You’re gonna sit and take it like your supposed to, like a good fuckin’ girl. Jesus, it’s like you’re begging to get hurt. It’s pathetic.”
You shakily exhale, relaxing your body as much as you can, and the belt comes down for a third time. You sob, tears streaming messily down your flushed cheeks. Your mascara is smeared, lipstick worn off and staining the edges of your mouth. Chad watches your beautiful form next to him, his cock now in his hand as he strokes himself. Normally when you cry he’s concerned; but now, knowing that the pain brings you carnal pleasure, he wants nothing more than to shove his hot prick inside you.
You lift your head up to look at Chad, watch him touch himself and leak all over his own hand. “C’mon, sweet girl,” he murmurs “Just two more…”
“And then you’ll both fuck me?” You look into his eyes with a hazy, exited gaze. He smiles.
“Yeah, baby. Then we’ll fuck you.” He looks back at Ethan, and the boy nods.
“Give Ethan a kiss, honey. Thank him for punishing you.”
You bite your lip, hesitant. You turn around to look at him, and he smiles for the first time that night. You grin, moving your abused body up to press a kiss to his lips. The boy’s hand wraps around your throat to hold you upright, his mouth moving against yours in tandem. But only for a moment, before he pulls away.
“Thank you for punishing me, sir.” you murmur. Ethan strokes the expanse of your neck as he holds you up.
“You’re welcome, angel. Now lay back down, okay?”
You nod, bringing your body back down. He begins to give you directions, ways to position your body so Chad can see more of you and make himself feel good.
“Lift that pretty ass up… yeah, you sweet little whore. Just like that. Show Chad how slutty you are.”
You whine, pressing yourself against Ethan’s hips, feeling his hard cock poking through, as you lift your ass up.
And then he spanks you with the belt again, and more tears begin to flow. And finally, when you’re on the last hit, welts are running along your ass and thighs. You collapse in relief that it’s over. The fact that no one has stopped to see what’s going on is a mystery to you, but you aren’t complaining.
Chad moves onto his knees, his hard cock in front of you. He grabs your hair to lift you back up, and you moan. He shoves his cock into your open, awaiting mouth. You choke, your throat keening under the pressure of his fat dick. Ethan positions himself behind you, and you gasp when you feel his now naked cock pressing against your warm heat. He spreads your pussy lips apart and pushes in, filling you to the brim.
You cry out around Chad’s cock, and he mutters a small ‘son of a bitch!’ before beginning to shallowly fuck your throat.
Ethan begins to fuck you hard and rough, hands gripping your ass as he thrusts into you. He feels so hot, so good inside you, and he laughs when you try to pull yourself towards him.
“Poor baby. You just love being a little cock sleeve, huh?” Ethan spreads your cheeks apart, spitting down onto your other hole. He shoves a finger in, and you mewl. “Can’t even hold yourself up right now, and you think that that frat boy can fuck you better than us? God, you really are an airhead.”
Your cheeks heat at the degradation. The sound of both Chad and Ethan’s hips hitting your skin is loud inside the car, and your juices drip down your thighs as Ethan adds another finger to your tight ass. Chad thrusts into your mouth deeply one last time, before pulling off. You gasp for air, chest heaving, and your mouth hovers over Chad’s waist. Ethan’s thrusts begin to slow. His hips stutter, and you know he’s close.
“C’mon, Eth,” you beg, fucking your ass back onto him. He moans. “Don’t you want to cum inside my pussy? Wan’ your cum, sir, wan’ it so bad-”
“Fuck!” He groans, his cock finally spilling inside your tight heat. Your eyes roll back at the warmth, and Ethan rests himself on top of you. Your cunt is throbbing, finally getting the hot cum that it’s been aching for the entire night. Ethan rests for a moment, trying to calm his racing heartbeat.
“Gonna let me fuck her, man? Or are you gonna keep her all to yourself?” Chad teases to the boy , and he rolls his eyes in annoyance.
“Yeah, Jesus. Let me pull out.”
And when he does, he grabs you by your shoulders and spins you around. Your pussy faces Chad now, and he uses his fingers to gather the sticky cum dripping out of your opening to soak his cock. Ethan’s dick jumps at that, and he can feel himself getting hard again. His stamina is honestly scary, but it makes for good fucking at the end of the day.
You whimper when you see that he’s hard again. Chad pushes into you, the sound of Ethan’s cum inside of you making a loud wet sound. You clench around him, and the boy grits his teeth to stop from orgasming too soon. He lifts his shirt up and holds it with his teeth, watches your ass bounce as he fucks you and Ethan’s white cum create a thick ring around his dick. He brings his hands down to grip the red welts on your ass tightly. You cry out in pain, but it only spurs him on.
Ethan rubs his tip against your lips, and laughs.
“I’m gonna cum all over this slutty little face. God, you’re gonna be covered, baby. If this doesn’t get you pregnant, I don’t know what will.”
You moan, lips coming up to kiss the tip of his cock.
Ethan grins. “You like that, you sweet dumb thing? Wanna make me and Chad a daddy?”
“Yes! Please, please fill me up!”
Chad huffs, face on fire, and you clench down on him. He makes a low animalistic sound in his throat as he orgasms, his cum filling you up just like Ethan’s did. You clench, wanting to keep him cock inside for warmth. And he does just that, cock warming you as Ethan begins to touch himself in front of your face. You stick out your tongue, waiting for his load to land on it. It doesn’t take long before he’s creaming all over your tongue, face, and neck.
“Good little bitch. Take daddy’s cum. Yeah, that’s it. Filled the fuck up, aren’t you?”
You nod, trying not to giggle as your mouth stays open. Ethan lifts your chin up so he can examine his handiwork.
“Good girl. Now swallow.”
You obey, swallowing him down. He takes his fingers and scoops up some of the cum on your neck and feeds it to you, and you take it eagerly. Behind you, Chad finally pulls out, and tuts when he sees that his seed is dripping out.
“Can’t have any of that slipping out, sweet girl. Think you can hold it in with your fingers until we get home?”
“Yes, sir.”
And you do just that. As they fix your clothes and buckle you back up, you keep your fingers inside yourself obediently. Ethan keeps you company in the backseat as Chad drives once again, one hand kneading your tits and the other pressing kisses to your collarbones.
“You did such a good job. I’m so proud of you.”
“Proud enough to let me cum?” You whisper. Your eyes are hopeful, and he sighs.
“Fine, but just this once.”
And then he’s rubbing your clit in slow circles, and you’re tilting your head back in ecstasy.

-Jealously-
description: Jimmy finds you at the diner, flirting with another man. He’s pissed.. but why? It’s not like you two are even dating?
word count: 1.7K
Warnings: Jimmy darling being horny and mad, oral sex (m receiving), unprotected sex (don’t do it, Jesus is watching 👁👄👁), use of the word daddy because Jimmy darling is my daddy, and I think that’s it, enjoy!!!
—————————————————————————
Tumblr media
You and Jimmy were strictly a summer fling. When you had arrived in town and came to see a certain… Freakshow, he invited you to his caravan after the show and you two… well let’s say no one in the camp got any sleep that night because of the two of you.
But it was always only a fling. It wasn’t a relationship, something Jimmy made very clear whenever someone teased him about falling for you.
But even if he stated over and over you two weren’t a thing, people saw right through that. They seemed to know it was a lie even if Jimmy hadn’t realized that yet.
Jimmy was fiercely protective of his family and friends, and you were no exception. If he saw you getting picked on by some random dickhead at the diner or around the freakshow, he’d take the man outside and show him a piece of his mind.
From how many times Jimmy said you two were just hooking up, that it meant nothing, you figured seeing other people wouldn’t be a problem. Oh boy were you wrong. So so wrong.
You had been flirting with a nice young man in the diner in town one night when none other than Jimmy Darling walked right in the front door, gloved hands at his sides as he looked around. His eyes locked on yours almost immediately and something dark shone in them.
He made his way over to your table, looking between you and the man, obviously angry. The look he shot the man was nothing short of feral. Absolute rage in his dark eyes. That was all the man needed to grab his coat and run the fuck out of the diner without a word.
You tried to hide your frustration as Jimmy took a seat opposite you at the table, tapping a gloved hand on the wood. He watched you, seemingly expecting an answer, or even an apology. But why would you owe him that? You two weren’t a thing. He had made that more than crystal clear time and time again, so why did he seem so mad that he had caught you with another man?
“What, Jimmy?” Your words were sharp. Impatient. You looked up at him. Glaring. No doubt your eyes showed the same intensity as his, if not more. He had ruined a perfectly good plan to hook up with the man who had just ran out of the diner.
“What do you think you were doing with him, doll?” He asked, never once blinking or looking away from you. If you didn’t know Jimmy like the back of your hand, you may have been a bit scared. He looked awfully terrifying right now. You found it kind of… hot.
“Talking. Am I not allowed to talk?” You replied with a deep breath, trying to keep your composure. He was such a hypocrite. You had seen him flirting with plenty of girls around the camp grounds, so why weren’t you allowed to do the same?
“You wanted him to fuck you… didn’t you.” His voice was hard, but he sounded… hurt. God, Jimmy was so sensitive sometimes, which led to him overthinking just about everything.
“What if I was? Is that a problem?” You challenged, sitting up a bit in your seat as you looked him over. His dirty white tank top clung tightly to his form, nearly see through.
“You want to cheat on me, doll?”
There was a rush in your ears, whatever Jimmy had said next, if anything, was lost to you. What the fuck. What was wrong with him? What was wrong with him? Trying your best not to absolutely explode on him, you simply shook your head.
“Oh so we’re dating now, huh?”
He looked startled, taken aback. That was when he realized he had fucked up.
This was not a conversation that needed to be had in public, and you told him such. You two walked out together after you paid for your uneaten food. You glanced over at Jimmy, who was so tense it looked like he may pull something and hurt himself.
He offered to drive you back to the camp and you agreed, arms wrapped around his waist as he drove back on his motorcycle.
He had led you back to his caravan to talk, but once you stepped inside, you found yourself pinned to the wall, Jimmy’s hands on your waist as he kissed you, roughly. You loved this side of Jimmy, the dominance, and despite how mad you were at him, you couldn’t deny his actions had you soaked.
“Did you imagine him doing this to you? Did you want him to fuck you? Did you imagine him pounding you from behind?”
A whine slipped from your red lips, some of your lipstick having smeared onto Jimmy’s lips and chin.
“N-no-“ you cried, clawing at his back, trying to pull him closer.
“Dammit Jimmy take those gloves off-“ you groaned, longing to feel his bare skin against your own. You loved his hands, and no matter how much he hated them, he did love how he was able to please you with them.
There was a whirlwind of motion and clothes were thrown in all directions as Jimmy led you to the bed dressed in only his striped boxer shorts, and you in your bra and panties.
“I think you owe me an apology.” He said, moving to slip off his boxers, cock slapping his stomach as it was freed from its confines. God he was absolutely gorgeous.
“Get on your knees and show me how sorry you are.”
If your mind wasn’t so clouded with lust, you’d argue that you had nothing to be sorry for. It wasn’t illegal to flirt with another man, especially when you weren’t even dating this one.
Without further argument, you got on your knees, wasting no time in engulfing his thick cock head in your mouth, lips wrapped tightly around it as you lapped at the slit.
Jimmy couldn’t help the moan that came from his now parted lips as he tangled his hands in your hair as he panted. You knew exactly how to make him a mess.
You let him pop out of your mouth as you traced the prominent vein on the side of his cock, hands resting on his thighs for support.
Jimmy got impatient and yanked you back by your hair, tapping his cock against your pretty pink lips, smearing his slick pre-cum across them like lipgloss.
“I’m going to fuck your throat, then I’m going to fuck that pretty pussy of yours.” He growled, shoving his cock past the tight ring of your lips and all the way in till his tip hit the back of your throat.
When you were with Jimmy, you had learned to control your gag reflex, well… as much as you could, because as he shoved into you, you choked a bit before breathing deeply through your nose.
“Mmm just like that doll, so good for me, you just love daddy’s cock don’t you?” You didn’t even have time to nod in confirmation before he was pulling back before thrusting back into your awaiting mouth.
Your mouth felt so good around him, only ever being beaten by having your pussy squeeze around him.
A tear slipped from your eye, your mascara getting smudged on your cheeks as you looked up at him. He loved seeing you cry while choking on his cock.
After a few more harsh thrusts he pulled himself from your lips, conjoined fingers wrapping around his cock to stroke himself, spreading your spit across his length to lube himself up.
“Up on the bed doll, take off those panties for me.” He whispered, eyeing you like a predator. “And that bra too.” He added. He watched the whole time as you undressed, cock rutting between his fingers as he eyed you up and down, a sheen of sweat resting on his forehead, his hair damp.
You quickly got onto the bed, laying down but Jimmy shook his head, clicking his tongue “all fours, baby. And hold onto the headboard.”
A shiver ran up your spine as you did as he said and not a second later he pounced on you, giving you no warning before thrusting his cock into your tight cunt.
Jimmy wasn’t a fan of condoms, but always always pulled out, cumming on your stomach or breasts.
He rested his chest against your back, letting you adjust to his size as he panted, hands holding onto your hips. “God, you’re so fucking good baby doll. Squeezin’ my cock so perfectly, you’ve just got the perfect pussy, like it was built just for me.” He slowly began to pull out before sliding back into you, starting a steady pace, breath shaky.
The caravan was filled with sounds of skin on skin and the loud moans coming from both of your mouths at the pleasure.
You felt the pleasure building and building deep in your belly as you got closer and closer to the edge. Jimmy always knew which spots to hit inside of you to get you close.
“F-fuck- Jimmy-“
Jimmy growled, stopping his thrusts as he grabbed the back of your neck, turning your head to look at him.
“D-daddy-“ you choked out, which seemed to please him as he let you go and continued his brutal pace.
“Cum for daddy, doll. Cum for me.” His voice was like music to your ears, and how were you to ever deny him anything?
So, you clutched onto him, body convulsing as you clenched around him, the knot in your core snapping as you tipped over the edge into ecstasy.
Jimmy made sure to keep his pace steady as he helped ease you through your orgasm before he pulled out, shaking hand stroking his length.
“Turn around baby- I want to cum on those pretty titties of yours-“ he begged, though he’d never admit it.
You did as told, collapsing back onto the bed as you faced him.
“Cum for me daddy” and with those words, he let out a guttural groan, cum spurting onto your breasts, some even shooting up onto your chin. He collapsed next to you, wrapping an arm around you.
“I want you to be my girlfriend…” he panted, looking at you intently. And once again, how were you to ever deny Jimmy Darling?

You did, in fact, not find a way to contact him. At least none that wouldn't require you to jump over your shadow and contact Tommy Miller first.
Every afternoon you had to spend in your parents' restaurant mostly consisted of you standing by the counter, and your head shooting up at the sound of the door opening. None of those times had it been either one of the Miller brothers - but each time you had hoped it would be. Praying and pleading that the universe had some last specks of luck left for you. But it seemed like destiny was not on your side at that time. Or maybe it was. How could you possibly know if he was as good as he pretended to be? Maybe the kindness Joel had shown you was just his way of holding up a normal conversation with no ulterior motives after all. Asking you about your future plans and dreams, telling you about his daughter, and driving you home seemed to be just the naturally kind gestures of a Southern gentleman... Or maybe it was just an act and in reality, whoever was up there was saving you from a big mistake before it could even happen.
'I think that if he was a real gentleman and if the looks he gave you were real, he'll find a way to contact you.'
Maria's words were once again haunting you. Even with your hopes already slowly vanishing in ever seeing the oldest Miller again. He was a gentleman, no doubt. He had to be... right? There was almost no possible way he had put on a mask before entering that bar. But...
You shook your head. Your best friend might be a good people reader, but she's also well-known for her delusions. It was fun and made life much more exciting, that you had to agree with. Having a campus crush and calling him 'your man' when all he did was thank you and call the essay you wrote a 'great piece of work', was how you kept life interesting. It was easy entertainment. Normally, it was all fun and games, something you could tease each other with, but this was different. Because with Joel, you noticed it too. You may not have noticed the 'looks he gave you', but what man would just 'like to make sure you got home safe'? Or maybe you were potentially just looking too much into it. Maybe Maria had already infected you with her delusions.
'It's a small town, it can't be that hard.'
Well... it seemed to be very hard because it had already been close to a month. And neither of you had found a way or were interested enough to look for one. At some point, you had to get the fantasy of Joel Miller you had made up in your mind out of your head. There was no way a man could possibly occupy such a big part of your brain and control how you'd act at work.
There was only one man in the past who had the same kind of grip on you as Joel Miller now had. And that guy broke your heart when he admitted to cheating on you and getting Chlamydia from the college girl he fucked. Fun times...
Other than that, the topic of boyfriends hadn't ever been more than just plain and simple entertainment for you. You didn't use them. And you never would, because, after all, you were a lover girl at heart. But they just didn't make you nervous. Usually.
You could vividly recall each and every time you managed to make a man bring you to his house and let you spend the night, just as much as the number of times you barked at them to leave you alone in a club. Yes, they were big and scary men, but you were a woman raised by an older sister who inherited the generational trauma from your mother and anger issues from your father. If you didn't want them near you, you wouldn't let them.
Crushes came and went, and the ones that stayed, you were usually able to turn into something as serious as a few fun nights or even take it a little further and turn them into the two relationships you have had in the past. But that was it. 'Chlamydia boy', as Maria had baptized him, was the last one you had let occupy your mind as much as he did.
That was until Joel goddamn Miller, in his 6ft, wide shoulders, itty bitty waist, rough hands, curly hair, shaggy beard, and grungy voice glory, just had to walk into that bar. Now you were daydreaming about a 30-year-old construction worker and single father all while he was probably just enjoying the evenings off-duty he got to spend with his daughter, looking forward to the next parent-teacher conference where the other mothers would be gawking at him and drooling while following him around like lost puppies.
That's how you found yourself. A birthday and a whole month later, in your family's restaurant just like almost every afternoon. You had finished another small exam and were finally able to enjoy the first rays of sunshine that were peeking through the clouds during the colder winter months on the way to work. But even the big windows couldn't even to some extent let you feel the freedom and fresh air from the outside. Sometimes you wondered if you should at some point regret coming back to Texas to help your family.
Back then, you had been ecstatic about the mere thought of moving away, seeing more than what that small town you grew up in had to offer. That's why you decided to study out of state. You started building your life out there. A new life. But one call from your mother, asking you to come back was all it took. You couldn't tell her simply 'no'. Not when she was explaining that your father, due to his age, was advised not to work normal shifts on his legs anymore as they were slowly giving up on him. So, you listened to her. You packed your bags and came back. You found a place of your own and a roommate to share it with. You were accepted into the college you so desperately tried to avoid during the application process back in high school and continued your studies only 30 minutes away from the house you grew up in and the garden you used to play in.
You weren't allowed to regret your decision. Not if it meant helping your parents keep the restaurant alive they had worked their entire life for.
"Where's my daughter?" The frantic voice of your mother made you sigh out loud as you made sure to fix the name tag on the right side of your shirt. "Is she here already?" Her quick footsteps echoed through the kitchen until they stopped in the doorway of the small staffroom.
"I'm here, Mom," you answered her with the slightest hint of annoyance. The simple sound of her stressed-out sound and heavy breathing could get your blood pumping in an instant. She has always been a stressed person - making situations much more hectic than needed.
A heavy huff fell from her lips. "Y'are late," she simply stated.
With a roll of your eyes, you passed her, putting your hair up in a ponytail just like you usually would. "I'm not late, I had an exam. I told you that."
"I guess, I forgot... 'bout that...," she thought out loud. "Anyways," she was quick to change the subject, hot on your tracks, following you up to the counter overlooking the somewhat empty tables. You only could sigh again. "I'll have to leave earlier today. I need to go to the pharmacy before it closes. The doctor gave ya dad a new prescription," she explained. Another new one... was there ever going to not be another medication this man would be put on? The medical bills were already piling up - you remembered the stack of letters addressed to your father you had seen just the day before when you came over for the usual Sunday family dinner.
"Y'are okay with closing? Jimmy might stay with ya if I ask him." Jimmy, the head chef of the kitchen behind you and a long-family friend. He was in his fifties and had a wife and three kids waiting at home for him each night.
You shook your head, "No, it's fine. I... I think I can clean up by myself, but thanks," sending her a tight smile that got a big grin out of her.
"Great!" She grabbed your shoulders, giving them a quick squeeze. "I'll leave in a bit, alrigh'?" You nodded as an answer, your eyes already on the notes for the day your mother had put on the counter, out of eyesight from customers. And with that, you got to work.
Mondays weren't all that busy, usually. The construction workers from around the area would come in and order their usual big servings that had been keeping the family business going. Some teenagers spent their lunch break by the tables, working on their homework and having a quick meal. Just like every other day.
With a sigh, you pushed through the swinging door, separating the kitchen from the counter area of the restaurant. Three plates filled with the extra portions some of the construction workers asked for balances on your hands and left arm. In moments like this, you were thankful for the low number of customers. You rushed over to bring them their food in a respectful time, getting a round of charming 'thank you's in return, to which you nodded politely.
Just as you were about to get back behind the counter, hoping to find the next thing to focus on until new customers would come in, your eyes found a familiar face, sitting in a booth all by themselves. You smiled to yourself, watching the little kid's head buried in the book in front of them as they frantically continued to write something down with their right hand.
It was the Parker's son, Miles. A young, very bright boy, who was way too mature for his age of only 10. The first time you had seen him in your parent's restaurant, you thought somebody had forgotten him. But no, he just enjoyed the background noises of the diner in the background while doing his schoolwork. He usually showed up a few times a week, would take a seat quietly and not ask for anything unless a waiter or waitress came over to him first.
As you began working part-time, you took on the responsibility of being that exact person. You'd approach him and ask him for his order, adding a free hot chocolate or lemonade to whatever he desired - you paid for it out of your own pocket by the end of the day.
"Well hello, young man," you walked up to the boy with a soft smile on your face. The sound of your voice made him look up, pushing his glasses back up higher on the bridge of his nose.
"Hi, Y/N," he grinned at you shyly. It was only then you realised how much you had missed his rosy cheeks.
"I haven't seen you in so long. I got worried already," you admitted. It was the truth. You hadn't seen him in a good three weeks, which was very much out of the ordinary. In a small town, you would've expected to hear rumours and chatter about every family, but the Parkers seemed like a mystery to most apparently.
Miles shrugged, his eyes back down to his book. "I'm okay."
The tone of his voice told you otherwise. He wasn't a very expressive kid, to begin with, so the change in his tone stood out.
"Are you sure?" You quietly sat down on the opposite side of the booth. You were in no position to interrogate him, and neither were you the best with children - at least that's what you thought. But you were a good advice giver and could read a room usually pretty well.
It took a few seconds of silence before he spoke up again. "Mommy and Daddy are getting a divorce."
Oh.
The instability of his family was no secret - your mother had caught you up with everything going on behind their closed doors as she and Miles' grandmother were part of the Saturdays' flea market in town. And that woman had no filter when it came to the 'monster of a husband her daughter had married'.
"I see," you nodded gently. "And... you're okay with that?" It was a stupid question, yes, but how else were you supposed to not just let him sit in misery, the thoughts of his parent's divorce occupying way too much of this little kid's mind.
"I think so, yes." Miles looked at the side of the table, his pencil gliding over a crack in the wood, "Grammy said it's good. And Mommy has been crying less. So... I think I'm happy."
Your heart shattered just hearing his words. No child should ever have to go through something like that.
"Daddy said I'm not allowed to come here anymore." You glanced at him with a slight scrunch in your eyebrows. "But now I live with Mommy and Grammy, and they don't really care where I am after school, so I came back," he sent you an innocent bright smile. His bright face almost sent tears to your eyes.
"They do care where you are Miles," you tried to explain to him, not even knowing if it was the truth, but why should a child even dare to think that the authority figures in his life didn't 'care' about him. "They just... they probably know how happy you are whenever you're here. That's why they let you come over."
You noticed as he tried to avoid your eyes, glancing out the window as he spoke, "But I'm only happy when you're here too," he admitted.
Pressing your lips into a tight line, you took a deep breath, about to give him an answer back, wanting to let him know how much brighter your day got whenever you got to see him, but he beat you to it.
"That's Sarah Miller," his finger was pressed up against the glass. "With her dad." Unfazed, he turned his attention back to his notes. "His name's Joel."
"What?" You accidentally muttered out, your head snapping to the window. The black pick-up truck came right into view. The one he brought you home in. Your eyes followed his every move as he opened one of the back doors, helping his daughter out of the car. He held out a hand for her to take, but she ignored it and jumped with a big smile. A whole goddamn month it took for you to finally see his face again. 30 days, if not more. Just as you had been on the verge of forgetting about your encounter with the oldest Miller brother, he suddenly decided to show up. At your family's restaurant out of all places.
Frozen in place, you couldn't help but stare, forgetting about the fact that a window worked both ways. You got lucky as he seemed to not have seen you, passing by and walking over to the front door while Sarah was skipping around the parking space in excitement. The pounding heart in your chest made you gulp.
"How do you know them?" You suddenly asked.
Miles continued to write in his notebook. "Sarah's in my class. She's nice."
"And-"
"I told her about this restaurant. Told her I like you and the food. And the free drink you always bring me," he sent you a quick grin, making you chuckle. The smile vanished quickly though as the sound of the bell above the entrance door rang through the room. To everyone else, it was just another customer coming in, but to you, it was the desperate crush on a 30-year-old man, who had no business occupying your mind as much as he did. There was no time to continue your daydream of finally seeing him again as he and his little one walked further into the restaurant, looking around to see which empty table they'd claim. Joel proposed the one in the corner right next to the door, which Sarah seemed to be okay with after taking another quick glance around the open space. They'd be waiting for someone to come and take their order. And that someone should be you. It had to be you. There was no other waiter on shift for this afternoon.
"I'll be right back," you quickly excused yourself, making Miles glimpse at you in slight confusion at your rushed tone, but the notebook in front of him was much more interesting anyway.
With a few deep breaths, you strutted across the floor, brushing over the apron covering the front of your thighs. You passed the register area to snatch the small notepad you used during your shift before finally making your way over to the duo.
Just before you were close enough to their table to stop, you heard the girl's faint voice mumble, "He said he'd be here." Her head turned upwards to grin at you as soon as you came to a halt, pen and paper in your grip.
"Hey, what can I get for you, guys?" You clicked the back of the bullet point pen.
Joel snapped his head up, his brown eyes staring at you as soon as your voice registered in his head. His lips parted, stopping for a second before he spoke up.
"O-Oh- hey," he sat up straighter.
"Hi," you smiled at him, slapping yourself internally at greeting him a second time when you literally just did that.
"Hey," he nodded, his lips curling up just a bit. "Y/N... right?"
While the name Joel Miller had branded itself onto your brain, he seemed to not even be sure about your first.
You nodded with a tight smile that was close to disappearing, but you had to keep a professional face on, "Yeah- yeah, Y/N," and pointed to yourself like an idiot. His eyes didn't leave your face, almost dragging you in, but you were quick to snap back, the sound of someone clearing the throat to your left catching you off-guard.
"Introduce me, Dad," Sarah tried to whisper, holding her hand to the wrong side of her mouth, where you could still clearly see her lips moving.
"Hm?" Joel's head turned towards her, "Oh- that's... that's Sarah. My daughter."
With a wide grin, the girl reached her hand out to you, which you gladly accepted, shaking it with a similar facial expression.
"Nice to meet you, Sarah."
"It's very nice to meet you too, Y/N." Once she dropped your hand again, her gaze quickly flicked over to her dad, who politely coughed into his elbow. "Do you know my, Dad?" She suddenly wondered.
"I- ehm...," you were quick to open your mouth before you could even come up with a full reply, wanting to kick yourself in the shin.
Thankfully, Joel decided to answer her, "She's a friend of Uncle Tommy."
Sarah gasped, her eyes widening, "You know Uncle Tommy too?" She gazed up at you in amazement, making you chuckle. Calling you a 'friend' was much easier than explaining your relationship with him to a 9-year-old, so you accepted it.
You nodded, "I do. I met him a long time ago." Not a lie.
"Cool," she said out loud, looking down at her intertwined fingers on top of the table. "What do you-"
"Babygirl, you wanted to eat, didn't you?"
The voice of her dad made her lift her head to grin at him, "Can I get pancakes?"
Joel put the menu he was holding down with a soft sigh, but a kind curl to his lips, "You can ask Y/N if you want to."
Quickly, she whipped her head towards you, "Can I have pancakes, please?"
You couldn't hold back a subtle chuckle. "Of course." The fact that pancakes were on your breakfast menu was unimportant. If the girl wanted pancakes, you'd get her her pancakes, even if it was close to 5pm. "And for you?" You turned to the man on your right.
"Can I get a simple turkey sandwich? And a black coffee?"
You nodded, writing down just quick abbreviations to remember their order. "Coffee's free here," you added.
"Oh, great," he commented, putting his hands down on the table, "That's all then."
"Alright, I'll be right back."
"Thank you," Joel gave you a nod and a grin, his attention back to his little girl as soon as you turned around and heard her whisper.
"Why do you know so many people?" Making you chuckle.
In the kitchen, you handed over their orders to Jimmy, who glanced at you with a frown, re-reading your handwriting on the piece of paper.
"Pancakes? At 5?"
"Can you do that? It's for a little girl, she's really sweet."
With a wink, he moved over to the stove, "'Course I can, no worries."
You grinned, "Thanks, Jimmy."
Getting a, "No worries, kid," in return.
Just as you were about to leave, you made a stop at the fridge, opening it to get the glass jug of homemade lemonade. Along with three clean glasses from the cabinets right above your head. You filled them up equally before putting the lemonade back and heading out to the counter again, balancing all three on a tray. You didn't expect the man standing right across from you, making you stop in your tracks.
"Hey," Joel smiled at.
"Hi," you copied him. Again, feeling the need to slap yourself. How many times have you now said these two words in exchange to each other?
"I...," he started, looking around the empty bar area. His hands glided into the back pockets of his jeans before he locked eyes with you again. "I'm sorry, I... Sarah- she forgot to order a drink. Is it okay if I- can I do that here?"
"Yeah," you nodded your head frantically, putting down the tray, as your eyes landed on the filled-up glasses. "I- I was actually just about to bring two of these over to you guys." Taking them into your grip and lifting them to his eyesight.
"Oh- did she-"
"They're like a... signature thing here. I thought you'd... might want something to drink." You placed them down on the bar top, "On the house."
"Oh no, I can't let-" he started, but you were already shaking your head.
"No worries. A little welcome gift," you brushed him off, your fingers slowly digging into the wood below you.
Slightly hesitant, Joel reached out for the two lemonades.
"Gotta keep the customers coming back somehow," you added with a soft chuckle, getting a humourous laugh from him in return.
"Yeah... well..." he turned back to take a quick glance at his daughter before looking back at you, "we might be coming back more often anyways. Sarah got a recommendation from a classmate... and she's been really beggin' me to take her here. And we were in the area, so..."
"Miles, yeah... he- he told me," you nodded along with his storytelling, fidgeting with the dainty bracelet on your wrist - an older Christmas gift from your sister.
Joel raised his eyebrows in interest, "You know him?"
"Yeah," you nudged your head over to the left side of the diner, with the boy in the only occupied booth, "He's sitting over there."
"Aah...," he took a deep breath in, "Gotta make sure to tell Sarah," he mumbled slightly more to himself, but you were still able to catch it.
"Are they friends?"
Joel slightly shrugged his shoulder, "I guess so, yeah... they're both in an advanced Math course for middle schoolers, so... yeah."
"Advanced Math?" You wondered in astonishment. He hadn't told you all too much about her back in the car a few weeks ago, so this was news to you. You knew Miles was in that course, Christ, he had proven it to you many times before whenever you asked if he needed help with his homework, but you didn't know Joel's daughter went the same path. "A little genius."
"Yeah," the older Miller brother chuckled, looking down at his feet, "Kinda like you," he met your eyes. "I mean- not like you... really... because, you know, not... College level, but... she- she's interested in it too. But I- I guess... I don't know if she's really interested in it, but she seems to enjoy it so far, so..."
If your eyes and ears weren't playing with you, you could almost hear a slight added raspiness to his voice as he tried to avoid your gaze, talking on and on about his daughter. The grin making its way onto your lips was only an indication of your amusement at his rambling.
"I understand," you laughed. "Smart girl."
He nodded gently to himself, "That she is... she sure is..."
Your awkward chuckle was followed by a second of silence. Maybe a few seconds, actually. Joel could've excused himself to go back to the booth they chose, but he didn't even move an inch. Not even made an indication that he wanted to leave. Your eyes travelled around the counter, trying to look for something to busy yourself with, but there were no notes left, every other customer (there weren't a lot) seemed to be happy, so there was nowhere to go for you. You were stuck to stand still across from him, forced to bring the conversation to a halt as neither one of you knew what to possibly say next. Not until you went through each line that had spilled from his lips, remembering-
"You said you were in the area? Do you live here... or...?" What a smart move. Ask the stranger if he lived close to where you're working, fucking creep.
Joel cleared his throat, politely holding up a fist to his lips. "No no, she- Sarah... she has soccer practice every Monday 'round here."
"Oh," your eyes lit up, "At the old Ramson's field?" The corners of the man's lips curled up at the mention of the area that was once a strawberry farm. It was sold years ago by an elderly couple, the Ramsoms, to give the kids a place to run around freely. Somebody took the chance and turned it into a local soccer team's training ground.
"Yeah, exactly that. You know it?"
You nodded excitedly, "My sister used to go there. She was really active. Always the sporty one in the family, you know..."
For a second, Joel pursed his lips, smiling to himself before he answered. "So... sister's the sporty one and you're the smart one? Your parents got lucky."
"Well...," you talked down his compliment with a soft chuckle, "I don't know if I'd say I'm the smart one...," thinking about your next words for not longer than a second, "I did get in the car of a basically stranger who took me home while I was definitely intoxicated, so... don't know how smart that really is." Smirking at the mention of the evening.
The older Miller's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "Why would you do- Oh." Stopping himself before he could continue. He shook his head with a laugh, "Right... yeah..." Just for a second, he had forgotten how truly unfortunate, or maybe not so unfortunate, your first meeting actually had been. "But," he took a deep breath in, "You got home safe. So it was a smart move, I guess."
"I got home very safe, yes," you agreed, a dreamy smile playing on your lips, as you pulled your hands back to yourself, feeling the chipped wood digging into your fingertips. "Thank you, again... really."
"All good," he gave you an assuring nod, "Rather getting in the car of a stranger than hangin' out with Tommy's group of... whatever they are."
You couldn't hold back the laughter coming from your lungs at his clear dislike of his younger brother's group of friends. Already back in the bar, it was clear to tell Joel was not a fan of them or the comments they made or truly anything about them all together, and he seemed to like making that very clear. He joined in your laughter with a slightly softer one, only to be interrupted as a voice from behind you suddenly shouted out.
"Pancakes and a ham sandwich!" Jimmy came through the swinging doors, the two plates in each of his hands as he stood next to you.
You turned to the side, giving him a quick smile.
"Oh- you were quick, thanks."
"I can take 'em," Joel was about to reach out, wanting to take his order, when you stopped him.
"No, no, it's fine. I'll bring them over," you assured him. "In a second."
"You sure?" He asked you cautiously.
You nodded, your lips pressed together tightly. "A girl's gotta work," you shrugged with a smile.
Joel gave you a quick nod before taking the two glasses of lemonade and going back to his table, the eyes of the little girl waiting for him getting big as she saw what he had brought along. You grinned at the sight.
"Y'sure you wanted to make the girl happy or the dad?" The old man's voice rang through your ear. Your head snapped towards him, taking a step in defence back.
"'Xcuse me?"
Jimmy shook his head in amusement, putting down the two plates of food. "I was in there tryin' to avoid interruptin' you two, but Lord..."
"What?" You wondered, a slight edge to your tone as you were interested in hearing what he was about to say.
He glanced at you with a soft smirk. "It was painful listenin' to that poor attempt of a flirt."
"A flirt? By who?"
"Y'know damn well by who," he pointed a strict finger at you, the smile still evident on his face as you tried to hide your own.
You arrogantly lifted your head, making sure to stick your nose up extra high as you crossed your arms. "I have no idea what you're talkin' abou'," purposely copying his very Southern accent badly. "That wasn't flirtin'."
"Damn right, it wasn't."
"Oh, I'm sorry that I don't have forty years of flirting experience," you bit back jokingly, about to snatch the two plates off the counter.
Jimmy scoffed with a shake of his head, "I wasn't talkin' 'bout you, darlin'." And with those words, he left through the doors again, going back into the kitchen.
You stopped in your tracks, hurriedly following him.
"Wait-," you called out, "You think he was flirting with me?"
"A poor attempt of a flirt," he corrected you, his back already turned to you as he started cleaning the counters. Before you could say anything more, he stopped you with a raise of his hand, "Go back to work, sweet pea. We'll talk about this later," giving you a last wink.
-
Joel and Sarah got their meals, and you brought Miles his free lemonade as well. It was already past 7pm, almost closing time as you usually locked the doors at 8pm. Most customers had left, besides a few teenagers you decided to hang around for a bit, enjoying the cheap prices of the food. The father-daughter duo in the corner had split up, leaving the oldest Miller brother to sit alone at the table, his finger furiously trying to type out a message on his phone, only to give up with an annoyed sigh and switch to calling the person. His little girl had joined Miles at his table after her dad had told her that he was there.
It was a rare sight. You had never seen the young boy interact with people his age. Or really with anyone but you or your mom. Other adults had tried to make a few conversations work, only to be met with silence from him. He didn't enjoy talking to strangers much, understandably so. The sound of the two giggling brought warmth to your heart and a smile to your face. He hardly ever grinned as much with you as he did right at that moment with her. You had no idea he even had people around him that could make him this happy. He didn't even smile at his mother when you once saw her pick him up. It was a one-time-only experience, he usually took the bus home alone. Sometimes you accompanied him, just out of fear and worry as to who would even think to let their own child travel by public transport in the dark. But maybe that was your big-city brainwashed mind talking and small-town parents saw the world completely differently than you did.
"We got any new ones?" Jimmy's smoker voice brought you back to the present and made your eyes leave the two kids to look at him.
You shook your head, "No, I think that was it for tonight, you can start closing up." You rarely ever got any new customers past 7:30, so you gave him the o.k. to clean up in the back while you started at the front.
Rounding the counter, you passed the tables, now empty, to get the last few plates and glasses that were left by people who had left merely a few minutes ago. Some others noticed you cleaning, handing you over everything they didn't need any more along the way. With full hands, you came back to the bar area, placing each dirty plate, glass, and mug on the window sill, between the front area with the kitchen. Jimmy gave you a grateful smile as he got a hold of them.
As you turned around, you were once again faced with the dark-haired, dark-eyed beauty of Joel Miller standing in front of you. He had stacked their two plates together, with the cutlery right on top, and the now empty lemonade glasses right next to them.
"Oh-," you chuckled, "Thank you," taking them off the counter to turn around and put them on the sill as well.
"It was really good, so, thank you," he commented with a tight smile.
"I'll let the chef know."
"The chef knows!" The older man shouted out from the kitchen, letting his head peak out the window with a big grin. His facial expression made both of you chuckle.
You turned back to face the oldest Miller, glancing up at him slightly shyly, not even trying to hide it. "You're leaving?"
Joel nodded, putting his hands into the pockets of his jeans, "Yeah... Tommy needs to get picked up. And Sarah's got school tomorrow. Gotta check if the homework's all done." You nodded along to every single word dripping from his lips, even daring to take a few quick glances down to see each movement and curve of them. "I mean- she always does them, I don't... I don't think she'd ever not do her homework, she'll even do them in short breaks or... in the car or something. But..."
"Just to make sure," you grinned at him, blocking his further rambling.
Joel nodded, a heavy breath falling from his lips, "Exactly... yeah..." He opened his mouth just a bit one more time, but wouldn't dare to speak, making you wait in silence, begging he would continue whatever his mind had come up with next.
He cleared his throat, looking over at his little girl, before switching back to you. "I- I should get her."
You gave him a hasty nod, "Yeah, yeah, of course."
Just as he passed the counter to walk over to the two kids who still seemed to be as giggly as they were 30 minutes ago, Joel turned back around.
He called out your name, making you whip your head around with hope.
"Yeah?"
"D'you know if his parents are gonna come pick him up?"
Not the question you were desperately waiting to come out of his mouth, but at least something.
You shook your head, "No, he usually takes the bus. I'll go with him after closing."
Hesitantly, but still, he nodded, mumbling a quick, "Alright," before continuing to make his way over to the other corner of the diner.
In the meantime, you got back to wiping down the front counter, before moving onto each table in the room. Even the ones that hadn't been used that day, you made sure to clean. In the position you were in, you could see Joel and Sarah heading for the front door, only to stop and wave at you.
"I'll see ya," the oldest Miller smiled, "Have a good night." You waved back, chuckling as Sarah excitedly waved as well.
"Bye, it was nice to meet you, Y/N!"
"You too, Sarah. Good night."
Your eyes didn't leave their forms until they were back in the car after Joel opened one of the doors on the passenger side in the back, waiting for his daughter to jump in. You couldn't help but grin at the sight. Other customers who passed you, said their goodbyes, making you walk over to their tables to collect the money they left for the food they had eaten. Arrived at the table the father-daughter had occupied merely minutes ago, you glanced at the money, counting the bills with your fingers only to realise the generous tip Joel had left for you. Damn it, there you were smiling again.
-
Miles was entertaining himself outside, still in the same booth while you joined Jimmy in the kitchen. Every table had been swiped over, the counter cleaned to perfection, the cashier counted and the money stored safely in the safe. You had found a comfortable place on top of one of the counters in the kitchen, a mug of the last bit of coffee that was in the pot now in your hand. Just as you were about to take a sip, a groan fell from your lips as the memory hit you.
"Huh? What?" The older man looked up from the floor he was sweeping over.
"I forgot to give him his coffee...," you mumbled out loud.
Jimmy's thick brows furrowed, "Who?"
"Joel..." He had ordered a black coffee. You had even told him it was free, and he never got to taste it... but then again, he didn't ask you a second time...
He seemed to think for a second before the corners of his lips curled up, "Aaah, Sir Handsome."
Your head shot up in confusion, "What? Sir Handsome? Really?"
Jimmy just shrugged, "That's what I'm gonna call him."
"His name's Joel. Joel Miller."
"Miller?!" He stopped in his tracks, coming to a halt with the chore, almost dropping the broom to sit against the counter. "From 'round here?"
You nodded.
"Miller, like Thomas Miller?!"
You glanced at him in confusion. "You mean Tommy Miller?"
The man rolled his eyes, "Whatever that punk's name was," and went back to cleaning up. His reaction got a chuckle out of you.
The name Tommy Miller, or like Jimmy sacred to call him, Thomas Miller, had embranded itself onto the entire staff of the Diner. Even past employees knew about him. Hell, even the food inspectors that used to come around once a year knew about him - he had the fantastic idea of following the lady around the diner like a lost puppy, flirting with her the entire time. The fact that she was well over 30 and he just a good 18 years old was so not important to him at the time.
He and his entourage were well-known around the area for multiple reasons. Their bad reputation had followed them all throughout their teenage and young adulthood, leaving a memory of their presence with each and every one who had ever come in touch with them.
"Yeah... they're... brothers."
With a clearly unamused facial expression, Jimmy glared at you, making you sit up straighter in an instant.
"Joel's the older one. And he's nothing like Tommy," you assured him. "I promise."
"And how d'you know that, young lady?" He popped his hip out to the right side, leaving the broom to lean against the counter as he took in his stance.
Jimmy might not be your father, but he's someone's. And you can tell. Your dad had been sick for longer than you'd like to remember, leaving Jimmy to take on the role of the next best thing of a male parental figure with a slight touch of a close friend.
"He- We...," you sighed, looking at the booth behind you to take a quick peek at Miles, colouring some pictures you had given him as entertainment. "I was at a bar-"
"When?" He nagged.
"Not too long ago."
"When?"
"A few weeks ago," you answered him with a sigh, trying to continue the story, when he interfered again. He shook his head, sighing your name out loud as he ran a hand over his face.
"Jimmy-"
"I won't tell your Mom, don't worry," he raised his hands in defence. "Just wantin' to know you were safe."
"I was," you told him, "partially thanks to Joel." Making him frown. "So. As I said. I was at a bar and Tommy, Joel's brother, was there with his group of friends-"
"Oh, Lord, help me...," Jimmy mumbled.
"Not his teenage friend group!" You called out, "I don't think so at least... I don't know," you brushed off the thought, "Anyways, I was there and Tommy invited me to sit with them. And at first, I wasn't really sure, but then Joel came too and I was like... why not, you know?" The older man gave you a knowing smirk. "But that quickly turned into a mistake because his friends, high school friends or not, were jerks, so I wanted to go home, but I had a few drinks, so Joel drove me home."
"You gave a random man your address?!"
"This is a small town!" You defended yourself, "If he was bad news, everyone would know!"
"That's not the point-"
"The point is!" You interrupted him, "I only got into his car because he was genuinely nice and the only one of them all that listened to me and actually seemed like he wanted to talk to me at that table." The part of your best friend technically forcefully reserving you a seat in the passenger side of his car was left out.
"Yeah...," Jimmy shook his head with a sigh, "You know who else was this charismatic?"
"Who?"
"Ted Bundy."
"Jimmy!" You threw your head back with a big laughter erupting from your lungs.
The audacity to even compare these two men.
"Dark hair, dark eyes, nice smile. Sounds like Ted to me." Like he knew the guy...
"You can't say that," you scolded him, wiping away the tear that had fallen from your eye in the middle of the fit of laughter. He joined you with a wholehearted chuckle, coming closer, to stand right across from you.
"So, what about him?" He suddenly turned serious, crossing his arms in front of his small beer belly.
You shrugged. "I like him," thinking for a second before continuing. "I only met him once- well, twice now, and I think he's really handsome. But... I don't know. I don't think he looks at me like that. This crush might be one-sided."
"Why not? Y'are a pretty lady!" He called out with another frown. It would let people believe he was mad when only compliments kept falling from his lips. "Ya smart, good with kids, polite. Why wouldn't he like ya?"
"He didn't even remember my name from the last time we met!"
Jimmy couldn't hide his smirk of amusement, "Sweetheart..."
"What? This isn't funny! I'm in a crisis."
"Y'are wearin' a name tag."
Your right hand immediately flew up to your chest and onto the plaque you always wore on the right side of your shirt. Glancing down, you saw the piece of plastic staring right back at you. How could you even forget that you were wearing that thing?
"But why..."
"I told ya," the old man shrugged his shoulder with a chuckle, "A poor attempt of a flirt."
You scoffed with a roll of your eyes, hopping down from the corner to take off the apron and mentioned tag. "That's really what you call flirting?"
"I think, he's a man probably somewhere around his thirties with a little girl by his side. How much female attention ya think he's been gettin'?"
"Have you seen him?" You stared at him with wide eyes. "I think quite a lot."
"Okay, how much female attention ya think he's lettin' get to him? This man probably hasn't even spent a night with another woman in YEARS. Where's the mom anyways?"
You shrugged, "Izzy said she got pregnant in college and everyone just thought he left her. But he has a daughter now and I hardly believe he would let his high school sweetheart alone with a baby while keeping one from another woman."
"Ya really thought a lot 'bout that, huh?"
With a smirk, you looked up at the ceiling before glancing to the side, trying to avoid his eyes as you mumbled, "Maybe a little..."
"If ya asked ya sister 'bout it, I doubt it was a little," he chuckled, noticing how riled up you were getting about the subject as you threw your apron on the counter.
"Alright! I thought about it a lot, okay?! I don't want to come off too strong when he has a whole family waiting for him at home. But so far... I don't think he has... but... I don't know." You crossed your arms in front of your chest. "I have to get my information somehow."
"Could also just ask him, ya know?" Jimmy tapped your head as he snatched your apron off the counter after taking off his own and heading towards the employees' closet.
"I feel like that's rude. Imagine just talking to someone, kinda 'cause you're forced to do it and suddenly she's all up your business, asking you about romantic partners and whatnot." You came to a halt in the doorway, leaning against it as you watched him pull out his jacket and hand you your own.
"I don't think he'd be flirtin' so poorly with a girl if he had someone at home. "He sent you a stern look, "And if he has and still does that, he's a piece of shit." Making you chuckle as you put on the piece of outerwear.
"Can you stop saying poor flirting? He was talking. Maybe he's trying. He was telling me about his daughter."
"Jesus, sweet pea, he told ya her entire life story. Ya could write her autobiography with all the ramblin' he did today," Jimmy joked, shaking his head in disbelief.
You laughed along with him as you grabbed your bag and headed back to the kitchen. "You're overreacting."
"Am not!" He told you. "The last time I sounded like that was when I tried to get to sweet talk my beautiful Betty." Your lips formed into a smile at the mention of his wife. This man could talk about her for HOURS. He's a true role model for the upcoming generation, and you were hopeful for his children getting to watch a couple truly in love right in front of their eyes.
"Plus," he added, "I have a cousin. Jeff. Single dad for three years. He's been tryin' to get himself out there again, and good God... Jesus help him. This man knows nothin'. Nothin'. That Joel kid reminds me of him a little," he stopped for a second to look at your blushed cheeks that had started to heat up. "Like I said, I didn't want to interrupt ya, but it was painful. Just like with Jeff."
You shook your head in defeat. There you had your confirmation. If what Maria had told you wasn't already enough, you better trust the wise words of a fifty-year-old man, married to the love of his life for a good thirty years.
"So," you cleared your throat, taking a deep breath in, "You think I have a chance?"
Jimmy sighed. He shook his head. After a step forward, he stopped right in front of you, placing both of his hands on your shoulders, only to cup your cheeks right after.
"My dear," he made sure you were looking him straight in the eyes. "I think ya could make a man build a castle with his bare hands for ya. And I think ya know that too."
You smirked, retrieving a small memory from that night in his truck. "Well... he is a constructor."
Jimmy gave you a laugh with his whole heart, pulling your face in to place a warm peck on the top of your head. He let you free again, giving you a comforting pat on the shoulder.
"Just give that man some time. Y'are a beautiful lady. He's nervous." With a final nod, he left through the back door of the diner, leaving you alone in the kitchen. He knew you'd be taking the bus to make sure Miles got home.
Speaking of, the last sounds echoing through the empty area were your beating heart and the scraping of the coloured pencils getting dragged over the paper by Miles. Your head turned to the side, and with a smile, you watched the young boy.
Just give him some time.
-
A week later, on Tuesday, you saw him again.
Monday had passed and there had been no sign of Sarah or him. Miles had been at the diner, entertaining you with some casually fun stories from school, including the young Miller girl in a few of them, but never anything else. And you weren't going to pester him about why she hadn't visited the diner after her practice on Monday.
But there he was, strolling into the room on Thursday, 6:30 in the evening. You were writing down the order of a group of teenagers when you heard the bell above the door. Right after you lifted your head, just wanting to call out a quick, "Welcome!", your breath got caught in your throat, making you cough out loud awkwardly. With a hand in front of your lips, you tried to cover it up, going back to writing down the order before disappearing into the kitchen.
"He's here!" You shout-whispered at the cook, who whipped his head around.
"Who?" He wondered, answering you quickly, but as soon as he saw your wide-eyed stare, he got the message. Jimmy smirked as he placed two finished plates on top of the counter. His eyes drifted from your form over the open window out into the restaurant, his smile dropping in an instant.
"Fucking Miller," he cursed out loud. You turned around to follow his gaze, finding not only Joel but also Tommy taking a seat in a booth right across from you. The older Miller's head seemed to notice your stare, glancing up, only for you to quickly turn around again.
"What do I do?" You continued to whisper, now even more careful about the others possibly hearing you as they were only a few feet away and an open window wasn't much of a sound barrier.
The cook rolled his eyes and turned back to the stove. "Get that punk out of the restaurant."
"Wh- Not Tommy! I don't mean him," you explained. "Joel."
Jimmy looked back at you, "Just be yourself, Jesus," grumbling something to himself that you couldn't quite understand.
Defeated, you took a deep breath in, reminding yourself of who you actually were and trying to get your act back together. If Maria could see you, she'd be filming you for a future Comedy sitcom - she'd have a field day with the state you were in. Nervous because of a man...
Just as you turned around, ready to face the outside world again, Jimmy's call out of your name made you stop.
"Huh?"
"Give me that," he nudged his head towards your hands.
"What?" With a frown you glanced down, seeing the order you had just written down, already long forgotten again. "Oh- right," you ripped the piece of paper off the block and put it on top of the counter before trying to walk away again. But there he was, the older man stopping you one more time.
"What?" You asked him, clearly on edge now, slightly amusing him.
"I swear to God, I'll spit in his food. Don't matter what he'll order." You knew exactly, who he was talking about, making you roll your eyes with a chuckle.
You pushed the swinging doors, taking a quick look around the space, trying to see if anyone needed something for you, but it was, just like the last few times, barely packed. Going past the counter, you crossed the floor to the other side of the restaurant, already noticing one side of the handsome face you had been so desperate to see again.
"Hey, guys," you approached them with a smile, stopping right by their table, now also finally getting a peek at the younger Miller. Both men were still in some type of work attire and you noticed the slight shine and curl to their hair. Tommy's was longer and darker, but you prefered Joel's.
"Hey, girly," the youngest grinned at you before slapping his older brother's arm that was perched up on the table. "See, I told you, she'd be here," he turned back to you, "How have you been?"
You nodded, "Good, busy. The usual, you know. You?"
"Good, good," he continued, "Getting back into the American lifestyle, chasing the American Dream." You didn't notice the roll of the eyes from Joel.
You couldn't help but chuckle, "You're chasing the American Dream?"
"Sure am," he answered you proudly. "Might not be as smart as you are, but a man's gotta try."
"'Course, why not," you shrugged, a smile still on your lips, hoping your answer would be enough.
"So," he huffed out a big breath, taking the menu into his grip, pretending to read over it. "I heard your turkey sandwich and pancakes are still as good as I remember."
You had to admit, the thought of Joel and Sarah telling him about their dinner at the diner warmed your heart a bit.
"I mean," you smirked, "I might be a bit biased, but I'd say so, yeah. Jimmy's still making them as good as always."
"Jimmy's still here?" Tommy wondered, making you nod a take a step to the side, letting him take a quick peek into the kitchen. "Ey, Jimmy!" The old man turned around, meeting the young Miller's eyes with a glare. Tommy lifted his hand for a wave, but the cook's attention was already back on the food he was making.
"Still doesn't like me, I see," he mumbled, shaking his head slightly as you laughed.
"Wouldn't be surprised if he spat in your foot." Joel suddenly spoke up. You looked over to him, giggling at the comment, making his lips curl up in return.
"He offered," you let him know, getting a chuckle out of him,
"Well," he shot his brother an annoying smirk, "Aren't you a treat for this town."
Tommy looked up at you, a hasty response dropping from his lips, "Tell him I decline. Gladly." Before scowling at his older brother.
Suddenly, you felt like you were interrupting something between the two. With a deep breath, the younger Miller brother was back to his old self, fixing the fit of his jacket. "Well, then... I'll take the turkey sandwich and see if it's still holdin' up to the good ol' times."
Your lips curled up into a teasing grin, deciding to just throw out the comment tickling your tongue. "You're doubting Jimmy's talent?"
"I would never," he quickly told you, making you chuckle and gently shake your head before you diverted your attention to the older brother, seeing him already looking up at you. The menu was barely in his grip as his fingers played with the laminated corners of the paper.
"I'll take the same," waiting for you to be done writing it down asking Tommy to pass him his menu and handing both over to you.
Before you turned around to get the orders over to Jimmy, you asked, "Coffee?"
Joel nodded, "Sure, thank you," intertwining his hands on top of the table as he looked at you. He didn't comment on the fact you forgot about that the last time he was there. You sure wouldn't forget it this time.
"Make that two, please," Tommy quickly added with a thankful nod after you assured them to be right back.
-
Trying to keep your eyes off the man was harder than you had hoped it would be. While you were able to busy yourself with taking orders and repeatedly cleaning the counter - you swear, it had never been cleaner than that day - you couldn't help but let your eyes wander over to the seat right by the window.
Joel and Tommy were sipping the coffee you had brought them, munching on their sandwiches, hopefully, oblivious to the internal fight you had going on with yourself. Miles was almost finished with his free lemonade and you were actually close to getting him another one, just so you had something to do. You couldn't just lurk around the counter like you usually would, otherwise, you'd find yourself staring at one of the brothers for too long.
During your little cleaning frenzy, you were able to let not only Jimmy's words but also Maria's re-run in your mind again. The evening, right after Joel and Sarah had spent their evening time in the diner, your best friend got every single detail from you, the moment she stepped into the apartment at 4am. Yes, you had stayed up to tell her. The session ended at around 6, the sun lighting up the living room being the indication to finally go to bed, where you found yourself awake for another good 40 minutes, just begging for a good dream to finally find you.
You had recalled the entire few hours he was in the same room as you. The moment he and his daughter stepped into the diner, the brief conversation you guys had, the coffee you had forgotten, up until the moment he had to basically verbally drag Sarah away from Miles' booth to get her home. Maria's screeching and excited jumps on the couch made you smile to yourself as you remembered the evening. It came close to a miracle that you got away without a single purple mark on your arm, considering she was repeatedly hitting you, smacking the naked skin of your upper arm each time his name fell from your lips.
She had put extra emphasis on the "I'll see ya," Joel had left the diner with. To which you sadly had to explain to her the casual meaning of those few words. It was a somewhat polite way to say goodbye to someone you know, not necessarily meaning that you'll see each other again. Maybe indicating it, but definitely not meaning it word for word - but Maria stood her ground.
You had also told her about your gossiping session with Jimmy afterwards. She had only met him a handful of times, her own working hours not leaving her much time to come and visit you at the restaurant, so told tales would have to do it. But even without really knowing the man, she agreed to each and everything he had said.
"You know, there's not a lot that I would believe coming from a man or even listen to. But if anyone knows about a man's poor flirting techniques, it would be another man."
You had hidden your face in one of the pillows on your couch, the heat shooting into your cheeks being almost too much to bear, resulting in another few slaps to your arm from her. Jesus, could could start giggling and kicking your feet right now too, just at the mere thought of there being some sort of truth to their words and Joel's actions. But there was a barrier of reality still right in front of you. Not only had Jimmy mentioned his 'poor attempt of a flirt' but also the fact that your not-so-silly little crush was a 30-year-old father, with possibly very limited dating experience in the past few years. It wasn't something you had even tried to consider before Jimmy mentioned it. Add the unnecessary comment from one of Tommy's friends back at the bar, and it suddenly made sense.
"This poor man probably has no idea that you're even interested in him," Maria had whined out loud, "He's trying his best, but God..." You chuckled at her voice in the back of your head.
You ditched your daydream the moment the coffee pot was fully filled up again, the coffee machine making its usual sound to let you know it was done. With that, you began your usual round within the diner, passing each person who was holding onto a cup, asking them for a refill. Most happily accepted your offer, leaving you with a half-empty pot once you reached the two brothers.
"Another cup for you two?"
Tommy smiled up at the sound of your voice, "Sure, thanks, Y/N." You made sure his mug was properly filled up before turning towards Joel, who politely declined.
"Not for me, but thank you," nodding his head at you.
"Still trying to cut down?" His younger brother wondered, speaking over the brim of the mug he had brought up to his lips.
Joel took a deep breath, "If you had a 9-year-old lecturing you about the effects of caffeine each morning, you'd start thinkin' about it too." The explanation got a chuckle out of Tommy and made your lips curl up into a smile. Before you even thought about turning around to walk back behind the corner, you decided to continue the conversation. Taking every shot you could, just like Maria had told you.
"How is she?" You asked, "Sarah."
The older Miller brother lifted his head with a somewhat surprised expression on his face, but you just continued to smile at him. Tommy continued to hold his cup up against his mouth, hiding the smirk forming on his lips.
"Good," Joel let you know, "Very good. She... She had a test today. Lot to study yesterday... so we couldn't come over."
"I see," you humed, "I was wondering where you guys were."
A brief moment of silence followed your comment, almost making you regret admitting to the longing. Thankfully, the younger Miller got up from his seat with a clearing of his throat, making Joel perk up.
"Where are you goin'?"
"Gonna take a piss. You wanna control that too?" Sending his older brother an unreadable facial expression, almost glare, before he disappeared to head towards the toilet.
You frowned when a sigh escaped Joel's lips. "Everything okay?" You asked him, eyeing the older man carefully as he ran a hand over his face.
"Yeah," he mumbled, "Just... Tommy being Tommy."
A chuckle fell from you, making you cover your lips with your fingers. "Sorry," you excused yourself as he lifted his head, "Just... if I had a dollar for every time I heard those words from someone with that expression... I wouldn't be working here anymore."
Joel laughed. You managed to get the scowl off his face to replace it with a genuine laugh. He looked down at the table, shaking his head, but you could see his shoulders shaking and the unmistakable sound of joy coming from him. You tried to hide your amusement, the moment he locked eyes with you again.
"I thought you worked here because you were a good daughter," he commented. He remembered the conversation in his truck. On the way to your place, you had briefly mentioned the reason you had come back to Texas. And he remembered.
You grinned, "Oh, I'm a great daughter." Joel chuckled. "But I wouldn't mind the extra cash." Your own words let a thought flash into your mind. "Speaking of," you started again, "Thank you for the tip... last week. It really- you... you didn't have to do that."
"All good," he sent you a quick smile, "Good service needs a good reward."
"Even though I forgot your coffee," you sheepishly admitted, just getting another chuckle out of him.
"We got good food and free drinks, so you won't find me complaining," he simply told you, making you smile and look down at the pot of coffee you were still holding onto.
"Well," you had started to tap around with your fingers, trying to look for the next words to say, "Thank you. I appreciate it."
"'Course," he nodded at you before you turned around to get behind the counter again.
-
Only a few minutes later, the two brothers decided to call it a day and stand up to leave. You were just coming back out from the kitchen when you found them standing at the register, both smiling when you came to a halt.
"Just wanted to say goodbye," Tommy grinned at you, gently smacking his hand on top of the counter.
You chuckled, "Bye, have a good evening." 'Night' would've probably been more suitable as it was pitch black outside. A quick look towards the clock would also tell you it was already 7:51pm - almost closing time.
The younger one turned towards the exit door while Joel stood still, waiting for your eyes to lock again.
"I'll see you next week. Goodnight," he simply said with a smile, turning around without another word. His soft voice lingered in your head even after he was already through the doors and on his way to his beloved pick-up truck.
You quickly pulled yourself back into the presence. With a swift turn around, you rushed back into the kitchen. Even before the door was fully closed again, you were jumping around the space, getting a shocked facial expression from Jimmy in return.
"He said 'See you next week!!" You squealed in exactly, your arms moving around in the air as you got closer to the chef.
With a tight grip on his arm, you shook him, "He said 'SEE YOU NEXT WEEK'!"
The older man just grinned at you, shaking his head as he watched you dance around the kitchen.
"How much joy just a few words can bring to ya, kid," he softly spoke, throwing the dishcloth over his shoulder to cross his arms and lean against the counter.
"Just a few words?!" You stared at him, stopping your movements, "He just promised me that he'll come back next week! He WANTS to come back!" Reality hit you for a split second. "I sound really delusional, but I. Don't Care." Before starting your little happy dance around the space again. Jimmy's deep chuckles bounced off the walls.
"Can't remember the last time I've seen ya so happy." He admired the pure happiness spilling from you, filling the room with nothing but joy. With a sigh, your spinning around came to an end.
"I'm happy because I get to see a good-looking hunk of a man again! Can you blame me?"
"Hunk of a man?" Jimmy laughed out loud, his entire upper body shaking as he walked around the corner to push you towards the door. "Get to locking up and then ya can tell me all about Sir Handsome again."
"Okay!" You squealed again, pushing out the door, the echo of his laughter still in the background. Suddenly, getting through the rest of the week seemed to be much more enjoyable than before.
-
On Friday, one of the only days, you had gotten off of work at the diner, you decided to join Maria in the bar. While she was working, you were enjoying your time sitting at the counter once again. You were sipping on your second drink of the night, drinking slowly as you weren't looking for something wild tonight, but rather just enjoying a nice calm evening. It was around 11pm and even though you had been sitting there for a good 2 hours, there was not a massive amount of alcohol rushing through your body as you had asked your best friend to keep the drink mild. But some people had other plans that night.
"Well, hello there," a deep voice slurred next to you. With slight confusion you turned to the right, eyeing the man that had tumbled up to the bar counter.
You sighed, "Hey." Nothing against drunk people, hell, you were one of them from time to time, but God... sometimes you can just tell, you know?
He blinked at you, "A pretty little girl so alone in the middle of a bar in the middle of the night?" His dirty blonde hair was roughed up and the plaid button-up hung loosely around his frame. It seemed to be a size too big.
"Yeah," you nodded, "And I'd prefer to keep it that way, to be honest." For tonight, there were no plans. You were waiting for a beautiful man on Monday, that was plan enough.
The guy chuckled, holding onto the counter as he stumbled back, "I'm Cody and I'm sure I could change ya mind. I could show ya good time, I promise."
"You're trying to sell yourself here? I'm not interested, thank you," you simply told him, internally begging for Maria to come back to the front, but she was being kept busy in the back apparently. Nobody else seemed to be interested in what was going on between you and the drunk fuck next to you.
With slight confusion written across his face, he continued to stumble over his words. "Who says anythin' about sellin'? I ain't sellin' myself. Ya can get this here for free," pointing towards himself.
"As I said," you repeated yourself, making sure annoyance laced your voice, "Not interested." Just as you tried to get up and move, hoping to get behind the bar and into the backroom, you felt a tight grip on your arm.
"Listen," the man stopped you, "You don't know what ya missin' out on here, sweetcheeks."
"And you don't know what you're getting yourself into if you continue to talk like that to me. Let go of me," you hissed at him. You were taught how to use your words, not your hands though, so you didn't really know what exactly you were threatening him with.
A disgusting sarcastic chuckle came from him while his grip just tightened. You glared into his eyes with a hint of fear as he let his face get closer to you, "Look, I don't wanna do this another-"
"Hey, what's goin' here?" Never would you have ever thought to be thankful to hear that voice. Whipping your head to the left, you found a wondering Tommy Miller, glancing between you and the drunk guy. A sigh of relief tumbled from your lips. "You two are lookin' awfully close."
"Get back to ya own business, cowboy," the guy spat at the younger Miller brother, his eyes raking over his frame when he found the boots Tommy was wearing. "I'm just talkin' to the pretty lady 'ere."
"Well, but I know that pretty lady, so it kinda is my business, you know?" He simply answered him, daring to take a step closer. Tommy glanced at you, "You know him, Y/N?" He asked.
You shook your head with a gulp, to which he just nodded, but before he could even say something, the drunk, still holding onto you, beat him to it.
"She's lyin'! I just introduced myself!"
"You know, I believe her," Tommy stopped him, raising his hand to place it on top of his that was gripping your arm, "So how about you take your-"
"Get your fucking hands off me!" The other guy snapped at him, pulling his hand off you, reacting to Tommy's touch like it was fire.
The younger Miller could just laugh at the reaction. "What?" He chuckled, "So you can put your hands on a random woman but as soon as I do it it's uncomfortable? A bit ironic, don't you think?"
"What are ya tryin' to do here?" With a few steps, the guy was head to head with Tommy, making you take a quick jump back. "Ya think ya gotta prove you've got some big balls here?"
"Me?" Tommy pointed to himself with a chuckle, "Nah, I just wanted to know if I gotta play translator." His comment got a look of confusion from the man in return. "I didn't you understood the English language because I'm pretty sure she said she wasn't interested, but you just... ignored that?"
"Ya makin' fun of me?"
"Am I?" Tommy continued to nag at the guy, making you take a step forward, trying to reach for him.
"Tommy, don't-" only to get pushed back by the dirty-blonde man.
"Get the fuck away!" He shoved you, making you stumble backwards, hitting the back of another guy, to whom you quickly excused yourself.
The younger brother looked at you in concern, but as soon as he saw you safe on your feet, his attention was back on the drunk in front of him.
He sighed, "Look," he motioned towards you. "Now I have to hit you. Because you just hit her."
"I didn't hit her," the guy scoffed, "I barely even pushed her."
"Nah, I'm pretty sure you did that," with a strong force, Tommy pushed into the guy's chest. "Maybe even a little harder, like this," and repeated it with some added strength.
In clear annoyance, the drunk man shoved Tommy's hands off of him, only giving it another second before he let his fist swing. The Miller brother was quick to react, moving out of the way before landing the first official punch to the guy's side. The blonde groaned at the impact, only letting it affect him for a split moment before pushing Tommy further away. It gave him the time and space to land his own first hit to Tommy's face, making you gasp out loud.
The entire's bar attention was now on the two fighting men, creating some space for them as they stumbled across the floor. You could only hear a few mumbles around you as your eyes were fixed on the fight in front of you. You tried to look for Maria but a crowd had formed right in front of a bar with mostly men, taller than you, hiding the counter area.
One punch made Tommy land on his ass as the other guy whipped his hand over his lips, you guessed there was some blood. You took the opportunity, to get down on the floor, your hands on the Miller's arm.
"Come on, stop this, don't waste-"
But before you could finish it, somebody shoved your body away from Tommy, making your back hit the wooden pole right behind you. You groaned out loud, closing your eyes for a second.
"Y/N!" You heard Maria's voice as she suddenly appeared, standing in front of the crowd with a glass bottle in her hand. In the next moment, she held the bottle up, swinging it to let it hit the back of the drunk guy's head before he could land another punch to Tommy's face as he straddled him. The man fell to the side, right by your feed, making you flinch away.
"Are you okay?!" Maria was right by your side, crouching down as she helped you up.
You nodded, "Yeah, yeah," you had only hit your back, which would definitely leave a mark, but not much else. Your worry lay on the guy who hadn't gotten up yet. No, not the clearly drunk one.
"Tommy," you rushed over, watching him as he groaned, blood rushing down from his nose. You couldn't even tell if there was blood coming from his mouth as well.
He huffed out, "Ah, fuck," trying to steady himself with his hands on the floor as he pushed himself up.
"Jesus Christ," Maria whispered out loud. The hushed voices around you got louder, making her raise her voice, "Everybody either get back to their table or out of here! There's nothing to see here!" After the first guy went after her demand, the rest followed.
"Tommy," you sighed, "I think we should get you to a hospital."
"Are you okay?" He suddenly asked you. You nodded quickly,
"I am. But you don't look good."
"N-No... no hospital," he told you trying to stand up more, making you stumble up as well as you tried to hold onto him even though he was putting half of his weight on you already.
"You have to, Tommy. Your nose is probably broken."
"If only the nose," Maria commented, suddenly having an ice pack and some paper tissues in her hold. "You wanna take my car? Get him to the hospital... I'll see what I can do about... this one," she nodded towards the guy on the floor that was slowly coming back to consciousness. "Probably have to call the police."
"Did that already!" Out of nowhere, Steven suddenly shouted out from behind the bar, making your best friend roll her eyes.
"Where the fuck were you before?!"
"I can't let... I...," Tommy groaned, not finishing his sentence as his mouth seemed to hurt.
"Take my car," Maria quickly told you, handing you the ice pack, tissues and the keys from her bag pocket, "And call me once you're there. I'll handle this here." She also got your bag for you.
You smiled at her, "Thank you," to which she nodded, giving you a soft touch on the back before you tried to move Tommy towards. He seemed to be okay walking, but his face was clearly in pain as he held his head down. The walk towards Maria's car was quiet, only his groans and moans filled the air between the two of you.
In the car, you put on the radio, trying to let the silence not become awkward.
"Are you okay?" Tommy asked you again.
You nodded, "You asked me that already. I'm okay. Only hit my back."
"Fucking idiot...," he mumbled, mostly to himself probably, but you shook your head.
"You too," you told him, "Why would you start a fight like that? I thought those days were over."
"I ain't lettin' a man talk like that to a woman, no matter what. And I know you, so I'm definitely not walkin' past that," he defended himself, almost raising his voice, but the situation told him not to.
The rest of the ride, the two of you listened to whatever was coming from the radio.
-
At the hospital, the two of you were told to wait in the waiting room as his injuries were not severe enough for him to be put in the emergency room. If it wasn't as late as it was, you would've started something with the personnel, but you already had enough of that for one night. They did offer you a new ice pack though and some more tissues.
You took a seat in one of the uncomfortable chairs next to Tommy, trying to find a bearable position. "Should I call Joel?" You asked him, knowing how close the two seemed to be.
Tommy groaned, throwing his head back and closing his eyes, "Fuck..." He thought for a second before continuing, "No... let's not do that. Unless you really wanna see him." One quick glance to the side, you found him smirking at you, giving you a quick wink. Even with all the blood on his face, this man was still able to joke around...
"You...," you shook your head in disbelief, "You're in the hospital. This is about you. I think he should know about his little brother being in the hospital," you snapped at him, but he only continued to smile.
"But you want to see him again, right?"
"Tommy-"
"I heard you in the diner."
Your head snapped to glance at him. The annoying grin was still plastered on his face.
"What?"
He chuckled. "I left my hat in the booth. When I came back to get it I saw you dancing around the kitchen singing that he'll see you next week."
With a pout on your lips, you crossed your arms in front of your chest and turned your head to look away. You knew there was no blame on him for this situation and all the blame was to be put on you, but you couldn't help but feel sulky towards him.
You scoffed, "It's not nice to listen to other people's conversations."
"But now I can help you," he nudged your side, hissing softly as he moved. You stared at him, trying to figure out if he was in serious pain and if you needed to get a nurse. He seemed fine as the smirk returned.
"Get your nose fixed first, then we'll talk."
With another groan, he sat forward, suddenly reaching into the back pocket of his jeans before falling back into the seat with a groan. He handed you his phone.
"Call him."
"Tommy, you didn't want him here. I'm not-"
"He'll be pissed at me, yes. But y'all can talk while I'm in there," you glanced at you, "Get to know each other a little better," wiggling with his eyebrows. You couldn't help but roll your eyes, your lips curling up against your will. He nudged the Nokia closer to you, giving you no other possibility but to take it.
"I'll be right back," you mumbled, getting a giggle out of him.
"Start the call with 'hey babe'!" He shouted after you, putting on a fake high-pitched voice to mock you. A harsh 'ssh' from one of the nurses made him sink back into the chair and you turned around and threw him a quick middle finger before disappearing further into the corridor.
You pressed the buttons to get to his contact list, not finding anyone under J that wasn't a girl's name, so you decided to just look through the entire thing, starting with A, until you finally reached B.
Barbara, Beatrice, Billy, Boobs-
He had a contact for 'Boobs'? You shook your head.
Brother Old.
This could either be someone else, an old number of Joel or, as you had hoped, Joel's current number. You pressed to call it, putting the phone up to your ear. After four rings, somebody on the other side picked up.
"What?" An annoyed groan erupted through the speaker. The familiar roughness to his voice was unlike any other's.
"Hey Joel, it's Y/N," you answered him. Some shuffling around seemed to happen in the background before his voice rang through your ear again.
"Y/N? What's going on? What happened?" He hastily wondered.
You took a second of silence to form a good sentence, just thinking about what he was currently doing or even just looking like. It was in the middle of the night, and just taken from his voice, you'd say you had interrupted his sleep. Did he sleep in a pyjama set? No, he was a dad. A true dad wouldn't sleep in much else but some shirt and boxers. Or maybe he's not wearing anything at all to sleep. You were drifting off.
"Ehm... So... Sorry for calling so late-"
"It's okay, don't worry," he quickly assured you with a heavy breath.
Out of habit, you bit down on your lip before continuing. "I'm calling from the hospital. Tommy got into a fight."
"God damnit..." Joel cursed under his breath. There were more incoherent sounds in the background as he spoke. "Which hospital?"
"St. David's."
"Alright, I'm on my way," he told you.
You nodded even though he wouldn't be able to see it, "Okay, we're in the waiting room right at the reception."
"Good, thank you."
"You're welcome, bye."
With a sigh, he put the phone down, ending the call and making your way back into the waiting room.
Tommy lifted his head at the sound of your footsteps getting closer to him.
He grinned at you. "And?"
You shook your head, handing him his phone back. "He wasn't thrilled."
"Ah," he brushed off your answer, "I bet your face will make him happy."
"Joel- Tommy, I mean-"
"I'm already getting confused with him? Wow, I'm honoured," he nudged you as soon as you sat down, the smirk still evident on his face.
"Shut up," you rolled your eyes, not even trying to hide your amusement. "It's late."
"But you do like him."
"I barely know him," you defended yourself.
"But you find him attractive," he continued to nag further.
You nodded. There was no reason to hide it from him if he had already caught your burst of excitement back at the diner. "But I think half the female population of Austin would too."
"But half of the female population of Austin isn't you."
His comment made you turn your head in interest.
"And what exactly do you mean by that?" You squinted your eyes at him.
Tommy smiled. "I think I know my brother well enough to notice when he finds someone attractive."
You laughed at his answer. "Wow, you're just gonna out him like that?"
"Somebody's gotta do it," he shrugged, "What else he got a younger brother for." You shook your head in amusement.
You may not be the closest to Tommy, but this was the most time you had ever spent with just him. Plus, he had just admitted to noticing his brother's attraction towards you. That brought a thought to your head.
"Can I ask you something?" It probably wasn't the ideal situation, but oh well, if you already had him sitting right next to you, confined to a chair, why not. Shooting your shots.
"Sure."
"Is there... you know... I mean... with Sarah, I was thinking about like... her mom?"
He shook his head, "Don't worry 'bout that," he let you know, turning to meet your eyes. "It's not my story to tell, but... she's not in the picture."
You almost felt stupid. You had only seen this man a total of three times, yet he had managed to enarmour you and let you think that you suddenly had the right to know everything about his personal life.
"Why?" He asked with the smirk back plastered on his face, "You wanna ask him on a date?" The question took you by surprise, making you open your mouth, ready to defend yourself, but nothing came out. Your lips quivered as you tried to come up with an answer, but Tommy just laughed at your surprised reaction. The rose blush to your cheeks gave you away.
"You should," he told you, "It's been like... God, I don't even know, like... two or three years. Christ, maybe even four."
"Since his last relationship?" You wanted to be careful with your questions, but there was no way when Tommy played open book to you.
He shook his head, glancing at you. "Since his last date."
"Oh..."
So Jimmy was right.
"Yeah," Tommy nodded to himself, "You'd be surprised how many women get scarred off by the whole dad thing." Your lack of answer made him look over again. "But not you."
"Hm?"
"You ask about Sarah. He likes that."
"Well... she's his daughter, so... kinda obvious to ask about her," you were taken aback by the disinterest of the other women he had mentioned.
He shrugged, "Yeah, but like I said... not many care 'bout that."
A few moments of silence followed. Neither one of you seemed to have any will to continue your conversation. You didn't want to keep nagging further and you were pretty sure Tommy had started to doze off in his seat. It gave you some time to think, but a sudden jolt from the man next to you brought you back. He was about to sit up straighter when his eyes caught something behind you making you flinch and duck into the chair again, groaning at the impact.
"What?" You wondered, turning around to only find two police officers in the hallway, talking to a nurse. With a frown, you turned back to the Miller brother. "What?"
"They can't see me like this."
His reaction alarmed you immediately. "Why not?"
He seemed to think about his next answer before spilling out, "I know those guys. And they don't like me. If they see me like this, I'm fucked."
"What?"
"I just got a new job, I can't get another mark in my record."
Your eyes widened, "Your criminal record?" To which he just nodded. "Tommy!" You shouted-whispered at him, making him shush you. "How many fights did you get in."
"A few, okay? Just," he put his finger up to his lips, signing for you to keep quiet. You dropped back against the backrest of the chair with a sigh, shaking your head as you ran both hands over your face, mumbling to yourself.
From the side, you tried to watch the two officers as they passed you, hearing a relieved chunk of air leaving Tommy as he sat up again. You couldn't believe it. You knew he wasn't an angel and you remembered his troubled time as a teenager. What you didn't know was how that time had continued to chase him into adulthood.
Noticing his still slightly on edge stance, you decided to change the subject, hoping to give him some kind of distraction. And it just so happened that you had an actual topic of interest for you personally.
"You think I should ask him out?" A gulp followed your question, unsure if dropping that would reveal itself to be a mistake or not.
"On a date?" Tommy's voice was steady again as he looked at you, his lips curled into a soft smile. You nodded, making him chuckle. "Give him some time and he'll ask you himself."
"You think?"
He nodded but continued. "I mean, you can ask him. I... I don't know how he'd react, to be honest, but he wouldn't leave you hangin'. He's just... he's a traditional southern-"
"Gentleman," you said in union, chuckling together.
"I mean," Tommy started, "You know, if a woman offered herself to me, I would never decline-" You stopped him with a soft shove to his arm, making sure not to be too harsh since you didn't know how severe his injuries were. "But," he pushed your hand away from him, "Joel's a bit more old-fashioned in that way."
"I see," you nodded understandingly. Hearing this in connection to any other man would've probably made a chill run down your spine and the sick feeling of pure disgust bubble in your stomach, but for some reason, it didn't when it came to Joel. Tommy spoke so softly about him being s traditional gentleman, he made it sound good and proper. Not conservative and old.
A nurse's voice, calling out for Tommy made you look up as he tried to get out of his chair. You offered to help him, but he brushed it off, telling you to 'wait here for Joel' with a wink before following the nurse down the hall.
-
Only a few minutes later, heavy footsteps stomped through the corridor, coming to a stop at the reception. Before the older Miller brother could even ask for information on Tommy, his eyes found you. Curled up on a chair, your eyes closed and your shoulders lifting and dropping in an even beat. With the time now being well over midnight, you had given into your body's pleas for sleep and found some form of comfort in the waiting room chair.
He tried to be as smooth as possible, getting into the chair right next to you, previously occupied by his brother, but even at the slightest sound, you jerked up, lifting your head to find him.
"Hey, sorry for wakin' you," Joel excused himself, brushing his hands over the top of his jeans. He had thrown them on even though they should probably already be in the wash and the shirt was wrinkled as he had fallen asleep in it. His unruly hair, messy and curly, showed the sleep you had woken him up from. But even in this state, which most would describe as dishevelled, he still managed to look good. He looked comfortable. Warm.
You shook your head with a tired smile, covering your mouth as a yawn escaped you. "It's okay."
"How long have been you here?"
"Ehm...," you tried to look around for the clock on the wall. 12:05. "Not too long, like 40 minutes or something."
He nodded, letting a sigh fall from his lips. "What happened?"
You rubbed your eyes, forgetting about the makeup you had put on a few hours before, but it probably was already smudged either way. Unsure if the story Tommy would tell would hold any truth or if he'd make up something, you decided to tell it in whole.
"There was a guy," you started, continuing to explain the entire situation to Joel, meeting his eyes a few times during the story, watching him go from annoyed, to concerned, to slightly irritated. He let you finish before asking further questions.
"Are you okay?"
You nodded, "Yeah. Just hit my back."
Joel frowned, "How?"
"I tried to get to Tommy after he got pushed to the floor, but that idiot threw me against a pole," you let him know, the scowl on his face only deepening. His wrinkles weren't just a sign of age. This man had been frowning too much in his life. Yet, it somehow suited him.
"You don't wanna get that checked? You sure you're okay?" He asked you further, but you just continued to nod.
"I drove here. I'm fine," you shrugged it off. Joel just sighed again, looking around the room before he continued.
"Anyone called the cops?"
"Probably," you answered him honestly. You didn't know for sure, but there was a high chance that you just got out quick enough. His deep breath in and out made you remember the reaction the two officers brought out of Tommy. "But I don't know. Maria said she'd handle it. My friend at the bar," you quickly added.
Joel glanced at you, his elbows digging into his thighs. "That's nice of her. Thank you." But you just nodded again.
Carefully, you decided to get closer. "Tommy mentioned something about a new job..."
"Yeah," the older brother sat himself up straight, letting himself fall back into the chair, "I got him a job at the company I work at. Just carpenter stuff, but... if they find out he was involved in a bar fight," he shook his head, "I don't know. My boss already took him in just because I practically begged him to."
"I see," you answered him, just letting him know you had been listening.
"Thank you for staying here with him. And for bringing him. And thanks to your friend for handling the whole police-" Joel began to ramble, but you were quick to stop him, subconsciously just putting your hand on his upper arm.
"It's okay," you smiled up at him, getting a thankful nod and soft smile in return.
It was only then it hit you.
Not only did this man have the responsibility of raising a nine-year-old girl, but he also was taking care of a man in his mid-to-late twenties. Letting him live with him, making sure he had a job, and picking him up from a hospital after a bar fight. You could see the tiredness on his face, and it didn't only have to do with the fact that he had to get up in the middle of the night. It was years old tiredness. You know it from your father. Carrying the world on his shoulders, dragging him, not letting him live to his full potential. The constant instinct to care and worry following his every step.
On one side, you couldn't help but find it attractive, his primal instict of protection, but on the other, you felt deeply sorry for him, you realised. If he hadn't been a met-three-times 'stranger' you would've offered him a hug. He looked like he could need one.

Can't Stay Away from You - Chapter Two
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The outline for this chapter, was over 2000 words, so as you can see, I had ideas lol. We get a bit more attention on the boys this chapter, but we do see what's up with y/n as well! Honestly, this series seems to be longer chapters, so the updates will be slower for this story. But either way, I hope this is an enjoyable chapter two!
masterlist
word count: 5.7k
warnings: Angst, fluff eventually, protective members, scenting, scent highs, cute moments because yes we need it, multiple distressed and panicked people, crying, tears, I think that's it?
Tumblr media
“Why did you ever think it was a good idea to give her, a random Stay, your number? What in the world compelled you to think it was a good idea?! She could have been a sasaeng for all we know, and you just gave her your number all willy nilly?!” Minho just about exploded on the pack alpha, criticizing his frankly stupid decision.
“You know very well that we’re all pulled to her for some reason. Hell, my alpha wanted to grab her, pull her into my arms, and scent her, right in front of every fan in that room. And I’m pretty fucking sure that everyone else felt something similar to that. So don’t you criticize me on this Minho. I thought about it before I gave her my number. I took a chance, wanting to get to know that girl who captivated even you. Don’t think I didn’t see you watching her after your turn, I saw it all.” Chan went after Minho, feeling enraged after hearing the man’s words.
By the end of his words, Chan was chest to chest with Minho, almost ready to fight with him. Minho is ready to fight his pack alpha, wanting to get it into his thick head how much he could have risked their pack’s safety over this.
“Do you realize how badly this could have gone?! We’re lucky that she hasn’t yet done something. She could post your number out into the world for all we know. And yet you’re standing here, telling me it’s worth it because she interests you? I thought my pack leader, and the leader of my group, was more responsible than that.” Minho said, his words cutting like knives.
A noise at the door stopped their conversation, Minho moving to open the door, their two omegas falling onto the floor. The two of them looked sheepishly up at their alphas, knowing they were caught in the worst way. The two alphas weren’t impressed, as the omegas knew better than to eavesdrop, and they raised an eyebrow at the two until the apologies came rolling in.
“And you two were listening in, why?” Chan questioned them, as they looked down at the floor.
“Jagiya dragged you in here, and we were curious why he needed to talk to you so urgently.” Han answered Chan, before looking up at him. “Do you really have y/n’s number??” He hurried to ask, even though it meant Minho gave him a look for asking at all.
“Yah! That’s what you gained from listening in? That Christopher has the girl’s number?” Minho scolded the younger man.
“Well, yeah. It means we can talk with her!” Jisung says, completely ignoring Minho’s growing glare.
“I am surrounded by fucking idiots I swear.” Minho comments, voice and face giving away just how done he was with the alpha and omega pair.
Felix wisely stayed quiet, hoping that he’d be forgotten about. Unfortunately, that was not going to happen, as both alphas turned to him.
“How much did you hear?” Chan asked.
“I heard everything.” Felix answered, hoping that the less he gave away, the better off he’d be. Once again, he was wrong.
“Where do you stand on this, then?” Minho queried.
“I can’t say that I’m not excited that Chan has y/n’s number, but also I can understand your concerns, Minho-hyung.” Felix explains, feeling torn between both sides.
Chan smirked triumphantly, as Minho sighed. Why are his packmates like this? His own alpha told him that he’s the same way, that he’s being a hypocrite. He shut out his wolf, focusing back on the present situation.
Since he didn’t get scolded for his words, Felix decided to be a bit cheeky. He teased Minho about his reaction to the girl, before getting stuck in a headlock by the alpha.
“I’m not wrong!” He shouted out. Minho only growls in response.
This triggers Han to laugh, before running out of the room, calling out that the great alpha Minho was interested in y/n too, no matter what he said to oppose that thought. Said alpha let Felix go and ran after the other omega, intent on murdering him.
“You little shit, get back here!” He screamed out at the rapper, chasing after him.
“I don’t think so!” Han called back, a cheeky smile plastered on his face. The other observed this chase and laughed at the two of them. This was prime entertainment, after all. Felix and Chan made their way out to the living room, where the majority of the pack had settled, watching the alpha omega pair race around the house in a very scooby doo sort of fashion.
Eventually Jisung was cornered by the older alpha, and was swiftly pushed up against a wall. Minho attacked the omega’s scent gland, Jisung quickly went into a scent high, going limp in the alpha’s arms. Minho smirked victoriously, bringing the now quiet omega over to sit down on the couch, keeping him in his lap. Seungmin emerged from his room, the last member to join them all in the living room.
“Well, I guess we might as well have the pack meeting now.” Chan piped up, all attention turning to him.
“What about?” Seungmin asked.
“About y/n.” Chan quickly replied, and that got everyone’s attention. The boys’ attention was solely focused on their pack alpha, well besides Jisung whose head was resting on Minho’s shoulder, the omega still a melted puddle.
The boys started to get louder, each discussing about y/n, before Chan shushed them all.
“During the fanmeet, I gave y/n my number when signing her album. She messaged me while we were on the way back here. I confirmed it’s actually her, and I know that all of us were interested in her, I could tell by how none of you could shut up about her on the drive home.” He told them, and they all started clamoring for her number.
“Yah! Shut up!” Minho interjected, and they all quickly settled as none of them wanted to earn the man’s ire.
Chan continued once the noise level had dropped, “My alpha also is attracted to her, at the fansign, it wanted me to pull her into my arms and scent her, everyone else be damned. I know Minho’s alpha was behaving similarly.”
Minho sighed as all attention was directed to him. “My alpha didn’t want to let her go. And wanted to take her and keep her in our nest. And he wouldn’t shut up about how pretty Felix and her would look together in our nest.” He spoke.
This admission from the dancer caused a round of teasing by the rest of the pack. They teased him and his alpha for wanting to essentially kidnap a fan because she was so pretty. Felix sat there blushing, the thought of y/n and him in a nest together painted a pretty picture in his mind, leaving him desiring for that to happen.
Fairly quickly afterwards, the remainder of the boys also speak up about their feelings, except for Han, but Felix shares the other omega’s feelings in his stead. They all found that if their wolves hadn’t outright talked about her, that they at least felt drawn or pulled to her.
Changbin quickly brought the conversation back around to Chan having her number, which then brought back the clamoring by the others, bar Minho and Han, for their leader to pass on her number to them. Chan sternly told them that he would have to get her permission first before he would even think of handing out her number, which then spurs on calls for him to text her right then and there to ask, as well as a couple of pouts at Chan not immediately giving her number.
The leader sighed, before pulling his phone out and pulling up their texts.
‘Hey there. So the others found out that I have your number, and they want it as well. I won’t pass it on to them unless I have your express permission to do so.’ He texted y/n.
It took a minute before she responded, and by the time she did, the boys had crowded around him and his phone.
‘That’s fine! You can give it to them, I don’t mind.’ She replied to him.
“Oh! Ask her if we can have a group chat too!!” Hyunjin shouted out, making Changbin and Felix cover their ears.
‘And I have been asked to ask you if you’re okay with a group chat with the whole group.’ He passed on the question to her.
‘That’s okay with me as well. I assume it was Felix who wanted it? Or Han?’ She asked him.
‘Hyunjin, actually.’ He texted.
‘Ahhh, that would have been my third guess.’ She replied, and he laughed.
Hyunjin pouted, as did Felix, at being so predictable.
Chan quickly created a group chat, adding y/n to it last. As he predicted, the chat quickly fell into chaos. The boys all wanted her attention, and he had to step in to tell them to cool it, both by text and verbally. There were more pouts this time, the boys unhappy about being scolded.
Since the industry has a habit of not disclosing the idol’s designations to fans since that incident at the fansign, and the pack of boys not knowing what y/n’s designation is, that’s the first thing after introductions to be discussed. Y/n is the first to spill, telling them that she is an omega, to which Felix chimed in as well. Though he already knew that, and was trying to cover up for the growing pool of guilt in his stomach at hiding it. Chan tells her that Han is the other omega of their group. Changbin, Hyunjin and Sungmin all tell her that they’re the betas, Seungmin noting afterwards that he’s the pack beta. This left Jeongin, Minho and Chan as the alphas, with Chan specifying that he’s the pack alpha.
Y/n was thankful to know what each of the boys was, and now knows why she probably felt the most at ease with Chan, Han and Felix, with two of them being fellow omegas and one being a pack alpha. They start to discuss other topics, though the maknaes try to persuade her to reveal who her bias was, but she kept her mouth shut on that matter. They move on to getting to know her, 20 questions style but really, it was just them asking her questions instead of her asking them any questions.
During all of this, Chan notes that Felix is unusually quiet, which is odd because of how excited he was only five minutes prior. He’s usually the big texting person in the group, and yet he’s barely texting at all, just staring down at his phone.
Felix is feeling the guilt settle in his chest, weighing him down almost. He can’t push himself to be part of the conversation, only staring down at his phone, slowly drifting away from reality. He can’t help but feel guilty, he ran away from her, and his omega had been berating him for his actions since then. He only jolted back into reality when Chan reached out to shake him, asking if he was okay. The freckled Aussie fakes a smile and tells his alpha that he’s fine. He knew he had to come clean, there was no other way around it. It wasn’t fair to keep her in the dark about this, but it also wouldn’t be fair to drop this over text.
Before he can regret it, he texted her in the group chat, ‘Are you free to call? There’s something you need to know.’
This set the pack into pandemonium, thinking that Felix was going to tell her about their feelings. Chan and Minho reach out for his phone, but the omega moves faster, moving out of everyone’s reach.
A ding was heard as she replied, ‘I’m free right now, Felix. What’s up?’
Deciding to just call her instantly, to avoid himself backing out, and to keep the others away from him.
“Hey Felix, what’s up? What did you wanna talk about?” She asked him as soon as she picked up.
“I knew you were an omega.” He blurted out.
“How? You shouldn’t have been able to tell at the fansign, not with my scent covered.” She replied, confused at how he knew.
“I met you before the fansign, actually.” He admitted to her, and the others.
“I think I would have known if we met.” She started, before going silent.
“Y/n?” Felix tentatively called out to the omega over the phone.
“No, we couldn’t have. That was you?” He hears her say, both to him and to herself.
“It was me. I’m sorry for what I did.” He told her.
“Felix-” She started, but he interrupted her.
“I’m sorry for bumping into you, and I’m so sorry that I ran away. My omega’s been berating me for it since I ran. I figured I’d never run into you again, but then you turned up at the fansign and when you didn’t recognize me, I thought that I just had to get through it and it would all be okay.” He apologized, and explained to the best of his ability.
His heart dropped as he heard a tiny gasp before a sob was heard from her side of the call. He hadn’t meant to make her cry, it was the last thing he had meant to happen. The others hear the sob and it’s enough to shock Han out of his scent high, his instincts on alert almost immediately.
“I didn’t say anything at the fansign because I didn’t think it was a good place to do so, nevermind the backlash that either of us may have faced. I had such a good time talking to you I swear. My omega’s honestly been yearning for you since yesterday, and I’m sorry I was cowardly and ran away. I was just so overwhelmed by everything I was feeling and my omega’s thoughts and urges and I couldn’t think of anything else to do but to run. I’m sorry y/n, for the hurt I caused you. I only hope you can forgive me.” He further explained, hoping that she would accept his apology, but know full well that she didn’t have to. Tears running out of his eyes by the end of his little speech.
The rest of the pack could only watch on, concerned about both omega’s but unsure of whether to intervene at all.
“Thank you for telling me, Felix. And thank you for apologizing. In the vein of being honest, after you ran, I went back to the hotel yesterday, because I had been overcome with a feeling of loneliness, and sadness. I made up a nest and after getting in it, I cried myself to sleep almost. My omega cried out for you, she was the most hurt by your actions.” Y/n admitted to not only Felix, but the rest of the boys unknowingly.
Felix started sobbing, as did y/n. Both omega’s feeling great amounts of sadness, and each feeding off of the other’s emotions. Chan decided it was time to step in, pulling Felix in close and hugging the younger man, taking the phone from his hand and handing it off to Minho as the alpha stepped closer, Han by his side. The other omega wrapped his arms around Felix, providing further comfort.
“Y/n? This is Minho. Can I ask for more details?” The elder alpha asked the girl.
She explained from the beginning, going over the two omega’s first encounter, and ending it with what she had said before, about falling asleep in her nest due to her emotions overtaking her. She told him that she had no idea it was Felix, that for all she knew, it was just a random stranger who smelled amazing, but had just run out of the blue.
As she continued to talk to Minho, her sentences eventually devolved into sobs and cries instead, fearing that she hurt Felix. Her sobs continued, worrying Minho that she’d start to hyperventilate and pass out because of it. He started to try and calm her over the phone, looking over to see that most of the group had crowded around Felix, trying to calm the omega down, though it wasn’t working.
Y/n could barely hear Minho’s voice, her sobs having grown louder as she tugged at her shirt, whining and crying that she had made Felix upset. She hadn’t wanted to do that, and she wished she could take back what she said. She curled in on herself, her omega feeling as sad as she was, neither of them wanted this to happen. Her scent soured, smelling bitter now, instead of sweet like it normally did.
Minho called out to the omega, “Y/n? Can you hear me?”
He only received a whine in reply, but it was better than nothing.
“Omega, I need you to verbally answer me.” He told her, not wishing to call her that, but knowing it will help bring her back at least slightly.
“Can hear ya.” He heard her mumble.
“Good omega.” He praised her. “Thank you for answering me.”
He doesn’t think she’s going to fully calm down soon, and he’s worried about her dropping, so decided that he needed to go see her. He asked her where her hotel was, receiving the name of a hotel, which he was able to discover wasn’t far from their dorm. He told her to stay calm for him and to keep breathing.
He caught Chan’s attention, the pack alpha motioning for him to come closer.
“I’m going to see y/n, she’s in as much distress as he is right now. I’m worried she’ll pass out.” He says quietly, trying not to let the others hear, though his effort is for naught.
Felix and Hyunjin whined at what they overheard, the omega of the two freaking out further that the other omega was in distress because of him, enough so that she might pass out. Felix himself started to hyperventilate, worrying about y/n getting hurt while she’s all alone.
“Alpha, protect omega?” He managed to get out, directing it at Minho.
“We’re gonna protect you baby, don’t worry.” Chan reassured him.
“Not ‘mega, pretty ‘mega.” Tears welled up in Felix’s eyes as they weren’t understanding him.
“I’m going to go help pretty ‘mega, okay kitten?” Minho said, running his hands through Felix’s hair, pushing his bangs back as he did so.
Felix nodded, before devolving into further worry, his omega taking over at that point. Tears were falling at a fast pace down the blue haired omega’s cheeks and his distressed scent almost made the others choke. Finally, to calm him down and having no other option, Chan scruffed the younger Aussie, causing him to go limp in the leader’s arms. Han grabs Seungmin, and the two start scenting their omega, trying to bring back that happy citrusy scent that they know and love.
Chan motions for Minho to go see y/n, or they’ll be dealing with a distressed omega all night.
“Go on, go see her. Take Hyunjin with you.” Chan ordered the two of them.
They quickly threw their shoes back on, taking the minimum they needed to get out the door. Hyunjin pulled his phone out, getting directions to her hotel. They hurried down the streets to her hotel, somewhat relieved that they made it there in under 20 minutes.
They rushed into the hotel lobby, y/n having given her room number prior to them leaving the dorm thankfully. They pushed the button for her room, but of course they weren’t alone in the elevator, and it seemed that people had to stop and get out on every single floor. Finally they arrived on her floor, running down the hall to find her room, Hyunjin finding it first.
Minho knocked on the door gently, but loud enough that y/n could hear it. They heard noise from inside the room, before the door slowly opened. Y/n looked a mess, tear-stained cheeks and swollen red eyes from crying. She was still having trouble regulating her breathing, her breath hitching and shaking as she looked up at them.
“Hi.” She said, barely louder than a whisper.
Minho, on pure instinct, picked her up and carried her in his arms, one hand pushing her head into his neck and scent gland, letting her scent him if she wanted to. He brought her to her nest in the bed, laying her in it as he stayed outside of it. He looked at her for permission to enter her nest, and she quickly granted it. He crawled into bed almost instantaneously, pulling the omega into his lap and wrapping his arms around her. He rocked her back and forth, letting her scent him as much as she needed. Minho was just there to comfort her without judgment, as she cried into his shoulder. He softly cooed and whispered comforting words to her, telling her that Felix was fine, that the others were with him and that he would be fine, just as she would be fine.
Hyunjin was waiting outside the nest, knowing better than to climb inside without the omega’s permission. At that point, y/n had calmed down quite a bit, and had taken to scenting Minho, which Hyunjin knew the alpha would never let strangers do. Yet here he was, allowing her to do what she needed for comfort. It really did prove that connection they all felt, that the older alpha willingly left Felix in distress to come and see y/n, and even was acting on instinct to calm an omega he had only met briefly hours earlier.
Minho caught y/n’s attention, pointing to the beta who was waiting. She immediately made grabby hands for the tall dancer, who smiled as he climbed into the nest.
“Hello little omega.” He cooed in greeting, getting a smile and a blush in response.
“Hiii beta.” She said, before hiding her face in Minho’s shoulder, to which the two men chuckled.
Hyunjin moved close to her, rubbing her back softly. Her scent was still soured, which worried the two of them. It meant that she still hadn’t fully come back from her distress, or was hiding how bad it was. Except for the fact that scents never lied, so the two of them changed positions, laying down in the nest on their sides facing each other, with y/n in the middle of them. They took turns scenting her and trying to get her scent to brighten up.
“It’s okay, omega. Everyone’s okay, no one’s upset or mad, you’ve done nothing wrong. Your feelings are valid, and we can talk everything out with Felix later, okay? But we need you to feel better first. We can’t have a sad omega, hmm?” Minho continued to reassure her, telling her that Felix would be distressed to see her like this.
Sometime after they arrived, y/n’s scent finally started to smell better, sweeter. Hyunjin’s beta and Minho’s alpha can’t get enough of her scent, the sweet honey and vanilla was so delicious. The boys felt the same way, the two of them chuffing in happiness. This was all strangely intimate for three people who had only met hours earlier, but there was a sense of rightness as they all laid together. It felt like this is what they should be doing, like they were just laying with another one of their packmates, not an omega they had met that day.
Y/n’s omega was purring in happiness at being in between the alpha and beta. Her omega was loving this, even if it only happened because of a bad situation. The happier she gets, the more delectable her scent gets, and soon enough, the boys can’t help themselves. The two of them descend on her scent glands, attacking them in order to get more of that pretty scent to come out and their wolves want to smell like her, want her pretty omega scent all over them, as a claim of sorts. This attack almost causes y/n to go into a scent high, thankfully for her, they get interrupted before that happens.
Minho picked up her phone to see Chan calling her. He answered, “Hello Channie alpha.”
“Hello Minho. How is y/n doing? Is she feeling better? I tried to get a hold of both of you, but neither you nor Hyunjin answered.” Chan questioned him, concerned.
“We’ve taken good care of her, she’s feeling better now.” Minho replied.
“Y/n’s okay? She’s really okay?” Felix’s voice comes through the phone.
Y/n took this as her time to speak up. “I’m okay, Felix. I promise. Are you okay too, sunshine?” She turned the questions back on him.
“I’m okay, I promise!” He told her, wanting her to not be concerned about him.
The two omegas started chatting on other topics, but before long, Chan interrupted them and told them to save the conversation for another time. They both pouted, the respective boys on either side chuckling at their expressions.
“Minho, Hyunjin, what are your plans now? Are you returning to the dorm now?” He broached the topic of what they would do, now that y/n’s been calmed down.
Hyunjin speaks up first, “Can we bring her back with us? Don’t want to leave her here alone.” Minho hummed in agreement.
Their wolves were insistent on not leaving her here by herself. What if she got distressed again, and they weren’t here to soothe her? That couldn’t be allowed.
“We want her to come back with us. Omega shouldn’t be left alone.” Minho affirmed Hyunjin’s words.
The use of omega tipped off Chan that Minho was not fully in control at the moment. That made him concerned, and their insistence really shocked the others, not expecting them to want to bring her back.
Well, everyone except for Han, he wasn’t shocked that they were behaving like this. Han knew that there was something about her that pulled them in, and he was fully on board with her coming to their dorm. If Minho’s alpha was that protective over her, he knew that she was safe to be around. The man’s alpha is protective over his pack, and he’d never let anyone in that he deemed a threat. Plus, his alpha was right, when he said she’d look cute in their nest. He wanted that too, wanted her and Felix in the nest. She’d be their little omega, that they’d keep safe, and by Felix’s concern, he thought the same.
“I want her here. Minho-jagi, bring her please.” The quokka-cheeked man spoke up, to everyone’s surprise. Thankfully, no one protested it, and Chan gave in, saying she could come and stay the night, to a round of cheers.
Chan sighed, before calling out to y/n, asking her, “Y/n, do you want to come here and stay with us for the night? You can say no, and I will come and get the boys. But you are welcome here if you want that.”
Y/n nodded, forgetting that Chan couldn’t see her nod.
Minho caught her attention, “Omega, we need a verbal answer.”
She blushes in embarrassment, “I’d like that.”
Honestly, she’s still in shock about it all, from getting Chan’s number to now laying here in between two-thirds of Danceracha, and she’s about to go back with them to their dorm. What is this life she’s living right now?
Her omega was thinking about getting to smell Felix’s sweet citrusy smell again. Plus the floral scents coming from Hyunjin, and what she could only think of as a clean laundry scent from Minho. Her omega is increasingly pleased with her situation, knowing that she wanted these boys as her pack, even if y/n hadn’t gotten to that point yet.
After confirming that they’d be heading back to the dorm soon with y/n in tow, Chan hung up. Hyunjin jumped into action, finding a bag of hers, and then heading into her bathroom to collect anything from there that she might need for the night. He found a bag for her hygiene and makeup items in the bathroom, and filled that up, before placing it in the large bag he found. He then moved out back into the main room, looking up at her and asking what he needed to pack for her.
Minho sat the two of them up as she directed him on what to pack, and Hyunjin dutifully followed her orders. Once he had everything, he brought the bag over for her to double check, looking happy once she approved, glad to be of service to the omega. Minho looked at him, pride in his eyes as he looked at the beta, a silent ‘good job’ mouthed to the younger dancer.
Leaving the bag on the bed, he went to find her shoes, as Minho moved them closer to the edge of the nest and bed. Hyunjin came back with her sneakers, and knelt down in front of her. He carefully put her shoes on her feet, the omega looking down at him with slight wonder in her eyes at how sweet the two of them were being. Once he had finished lacing up her shoes, he stood up and stepped back, grabbing her overnight bag in the process.
Minho moved her off his lap, before he slid off of the bed, immediately turning around to reach his hands out for her. She took them, and he helped her slide off the bed as well, landing softly on the ground, as if she was farther off the ground than the couple inches between her feet and the bed. Hyunjin hurried back over to the door, grabbing her coat off the hanger, and helping her into it. The two idols donned masks, and handed her one as well that they nicked on their way out as an extra for themselves. She put it on to conceal her face. They left the hotel room, but not before making sure y/n had the keys to her room.
They quickly rode back down the elevator and left the hotel, starting their journey back home. They two men knew where they were going, and each of them holding her hand, they led her down the streets until they approached the building their dorm was in. Heading up the lift to their floor, the doors opened and they hurried to their apartment. They arrived at the boys’ dorm, but before they could open the door, it opened for them, an excited Han on the other side.
“You’re here! Come in come in!” He nearly shouted, causing the others to come rushing to the entryway as well, Chan and Felix pushing their way to the front. The two Aussie’s kept everyone back so that the three of them could enter the apartment. The boys took off their shoes, as y/n followed them in doing so.
Once everyone’s shoes were off, Minho grabbed y/n’s hand and pulled her with him to the living room. He sat down on one of the couches, pulling her down next to him. Felix claimed the spot on her other side, as Han pouted, before he sat down in front of her. That didn’t stop him from complaining about how unfair it was, to the others’ amusement.
They all started chatting, in an effort to make y’n feel more comfortable in their presence. It worked, to their delight, and she quickly loosened up and joined the conversations. They talked about anything and everything, though the older boys had a lot of fun telling her embarrassing stories about the younger four boys, who retaliated by telling her the same kinds of stories about their elders. This caused her to laugh until her sides hurt, before chiming in with a couple stories of her own.
Eventually, more yawns than words were coming out of y/n’s mouth, and the eldest two took this as a sign that the small omega needed sleep.
“I think it’s time for some sleep, yeah?” Chan said as he came up to her, Han had moved out of the way so he could get closer.
Y/n nodded sleepily, having a harder time keeping herself upright. Chan, after getting verbal confirmation that it was okay to pick her up, did so, before taking her to their pack nest, and laying her in the middle of it. The two omegas hopped in after her, softly talking with her and removing anything on her person that might make sleeping hard. Once they were finished, and moved anything out of the nest, they settled in on either side of her, keeping her between them.
The three betas climbed into the nest next, Hyunjin on the other side of Felix, while Changbin and Seungmin stayed on Han’s side of the nest. Jeongin slipped in behind Seungmin with Chan capping off that side of the nest, as Minho slid in behind Hyunjin, reaching over him to feel Felix and y/n as much as he could.
With how many happy and content scents there were surrounding the omegas, it didn’t take long before the three were out cold. The three betas quickly followed, Changbin being the last of the three to fall asleep, watching the younger ones succumb to sleep first before he could. Minho was next, looking at Chan before nuzzling into Hyunjin’s neck and peacefully falling into the hands of sleep, and Chan took one more look around, his alpha being the happiest at seeing all of them safe here in the nest, before he too slipped into dreamland. The dorms were finally quiet, and the nine of them were safe in the nest, where they couldn’t be harmed.

Modern AU
Working for a big company wasn’t as stressing as it seemed. Y/N had the smarts, skills and knowledge for anything really and that’s what made her a great worker. That is of course if she was a proper worker, she had been an intern for so long along with her three friends Armin, Mikasa and Eren.
Even Armin had the smarts and skills just like her but in a massive company, not a lot of people are going to be so impressed or interested in interns. Mikasa could work quite well and completed any tasks set whereas Eren was.. questionable.
Still, being friends from the very start of their lives meant that they wouldn’t have any sort of struggle to stay close to one another. And like any other morning, the 4 friends left their apartment to go to their shitty job.
Walking to the massive building, the group had talked amongst themselves and laughed at a couple of jokes until a Rolls Royce had drove past.
”Damn, look at that car!” Eren exclaimed as it stopped at the traffic light. “Why do all the rich people get such good stuff, and we have to walk to work?”
”Eren calm down. As much as we want a cool car, I guess we just have to wait until we’re rich like that.” Y/N said.
”And how the hell are we supposed to do that when we’re still crappy interns?” Eren asked as he watched the Rolls Royce drive off.
”I don’t know, but I think walking to work for 15 minutes won’t kill you, Eren.” Mikasa muttered.
Reaching the building, the group saw the Rolls Royce at the front of the building. Out came a very wealthy man. He had blonde hair which was neatly combed, blue eyes and was extremely tall. He was basically the more advanced version of Armin.
”Woah.” Eren mumbled as he walked in after the business man, not wanting to tumble or fall over in front of him. Making their way to their offices, Y/N set down her stuff and walked over to the files and began working with Armin.
”That guys looked like you Armin, only a bit different.” Y/N said.
”A bit different.? You must be trying to be nice Y/N, he looks way more different.” Armin chuckled as he began writing information and details.
“It’s alright Armin, you have things that most people don’t. If we’re talking about looks.. you might want a haircut. You look like a girl.” Y/N mumbled.
”Huh?!” Armin exclaimed. Eren and Mikasa soon came after them and began talking to each other, knowing they wouldn’t get in trouble from actual workers.
”Y’know Y/N, you’re really pretty. I don’t know how a guy just hasn’t hit on you yet.” Eren randomly said.
”Eren that was so random!” Y/N laughed out. “And thanks for the compliment.”
”The reason no one’s hit on her is because Mikasa just wouldn’t allow it.” Armin explained.
”Huh?!” Y/N exclaimed as she turned to look at Mikasa in shock.
”Remember Jean? He didn’t get a chance to take you on a date because during her goth phase, Mikasa threatened to perform a ritual to possess him if he did.” Armin said before writing in his journal.
”Jean too?! I thought Reiner was the only one..” Eren mumbled.
”How many guys did you threaten Mikasa?!” Y/N asked as she looked at the quiet girl.
”I don’t remember.. 26?” Mikasa shyly muttered, shocking the trio in front of her. This was the groups average conversation.
”Hey interns.” A worker said, getting the groups attention. “One of you give this important file to the CEO’s assistant.”
”The CEO?!” Eren exclaimed.
”Not you, you’re too loud. Hey, pretty girl, you go do it.” The guy said as he handed her the file. “Don’t mess up, alright?”
”Okay.” Y/N said as she walked off. Pressing the elevator button, Y/N went to the top floor and walked over to the assistants desk.
”Can I help you?” The slightly old lady asked.
”I’ve been told to give this to you, I’m not sure what it is but it was given by someone called Eld.” Y/N said as she handed her the file.
”Thank you. You’re an intern I see. Would you like anything? I have some mints and sweets for you.” The lady said as she pushed forward the bowl. “Here take some, whilst I hand this to the CEO.”
”O-Okay.” Y/N stuttered out as she grabbed herself a mint and popped it into her mouth. The lady walked in to the much bigger office and handed the file before muttering something to her boss.
Glancing at the inside of the office, Y/N met eyes with the same blue ones that she saw not too long ago. That same wealthy looking man was her CEO. Erwin Smith. The assistant quickly rushed back and closed the door behind her and smiled at Y/N.
“Sorry about that. Is there anything else?” The lady asked.
”No that’s it.. thank you for the mint.” Y/N said before leaving and going to the elevator. Reaching her office, Y/N began to work on whatever task she was given and occasionally talked to her friends. Finally, their shifts came to an end and the group had walked out of the building together.
”Hey Eren, you remember that guy that came out of the Rolls Royce?” Y/N asked.
”Yeah. what about him?” Eren asked as he looked at her, curious.
”He’s the CEO of the company.” Y/N said, making the group go shocked. “I had to give that file and when I did I saw him in his office.”
”Did you get to meet him? What was he like?” Armin asked.
”Oh I didn’t get to meet him but I saw him. I think he saw me too..” Y/N mumbled as she thought back to the moment.
Reaching the apartment, Y/N and Mikasa walked into their shared bedroom and got changed into casual clothes before going to the living room where Eren and Armin were sat in. Talking amongst themselves, they soon made themselves food and went for bed.
Erwin Smith. As everyone knew, he stayed later than anyone in the company. He had to think of the company’s future and the general business so of course he had to stay late. Right? Well not this time. After laying eyes on that woman, he just had to get to know her.
Going through the files, he found hers. Y/N L/N, she wasn’t a worker but an intern. Had necessary skills and experience for the workplace and was extremely knowledgeable in academic fields. Looks were amazing. Her (e/c) and (h/c) were exactly what Erwin wanted and with those remarkable features, it amazed him how such a wonderful woman could ever exist.
How to get her close to him without raising suspicion would be tricky. And who was he to judge based on appearance and grades? Surely he had to see her work and her general behaviour towards others. But he knew it would all fall into plan.
.
.
.
“Eren! Get your lazy ass up, we’re going to be late for work!” Y/N said as she pulled the blanket off the sleeping boy.
“Ugghh it’s only an internship.” Eren mumbled before falling of the bed. “Agh!”
They all got ready on time and left the building just in time. The same Rolls Royce was in front of the building and was much earlier than usual. Walking in, Y/N’s stuff had been tampered with. Walking over to Eren, Armin and Mikasa she had seen their stuff hadn’t.
“Why did your stuff get moved?” Armin asked curiously to himself.
“Maybe you got separated from this section since we do talk a bit too much.” Eren suggested.
”But we’re interns. Why would someone do something sill like that to interns?” Y/N asked.
”Hey you. Pretty Girl.” A worker name Gunther called out, Y/N and her friends turned to look at him. “We were told that you have to fill in for CEO’s assistant since she’s not in today.”
”The CEO?! Man, you get so lucky Y/N!” Eren said excitedly. “Its even cooler since we are interns.”
”You think working beside the CEO of one of the biggest companies is exciting?! It’s more like terrifying.” Armin said on behalf of Y/N.
”Y/N, if you need help then just call us on your phone okay? Don’t hesitate for a second, you never know what type of men are out there-“ Mikasa begun to say, trying to protect Y/N.
”I-I’ll be okay! It’s only being an assistant.” Y/N simply said as she made her way to the elevator. As she made her way to the desk, it seemed to have disappeared. What once was a long, dark brown desk had somehow just vanished. Y/N awkwardly stood at where the desk had been until the elevator made a ‘ding’ noise.
Turning around, Y/N saw the same man from yesterday. He had worn a dark blue suit this time and was holding a briefcase. Looking at Y/N, his heart stopped. He had finally looked at this beautiful woman properly. Walking up to Y/N, he towered over her before speaking up.
”You must be Y/N, yes?” Erwin asked.
”Y-yes. I was called to fill for your absent assistant.” Y/N said as she fully faced him. “Where will I be working? Her desk seems to have been moved.”
”Oh yes. Its been moved to my office which is a massive inconvenience. It’ll be fine though, you won’t need to use that silly radio button.” Erwin said as he smiled and opened his office door. “After you.”
Walking in, Y/N saw a grand office. It was spacious, modern and just the very floor would be of much more value than her. Walking over to her desk she sat down at the chair, her hands shaking with nervousness. Opening her work file, she filled in any missing documents that the regular assistant was meant to. The hour went by slowly as the clock had only read out 10:00.
”Y/N, could you be a good little assistant and get me that pen I dropped.” Erwin said looking over his desk to see a pen on the floor.
”Sure..” Y/N mumbled as she got up and bent down to pick it up, making sure to cover her cleavage. Handing it to Erwin, she didn’t see the gloom on his face.
“Could you also make me some coffee? I know the machine is right there but I’m really busy. You understand don’t you?” Erwin asked as he locked his fingers with each other and leaned on his hands as his elbows rested on his desk.
”R-right.” Y/N said as she turned around and walked over to the coffee machine and began making Erwin’s coffee. As Y/N’s head was turned around, Erwin looked up and down at her body. How he wished he could grab her hips and see her face full of lust, her hair luscious and silky, her moans as his massive cock-
“S-sir?” Y/N called out, bringing Erwin back to reality and out of his thoughts. “Would you like sugar with this?”
”No, thank you for asking Y/N.” Erwin said as he looked down at the papers scattered across his desk. How he wished that she was his little housewife, wearing pretty dresses that he bought and picked out, carrying his children. Soon, his plan had to work. He had seen his little darling in person and how much of an angel she was.
”Here you go sir.” Y/N said as she handed him his mug of coffee. “I hope I made it right.”
”Thank you Y/N, im sure it’ll taste wonderful.” Erwin said as his fingers brushed against hers. Feeling her spine shiver, Erwin knew that he’d have to get her used to physical touch as his soon to be fiancée. Taking a sip of the well-made coffee he began to imagine how amazing her cooking must taste, sure this was only a cup of coffee but surely she had to be a great housewife.
Soon the day had ended, Y/N was quick to say goodbye and leave to go home with her friends. Erwin, as usual stayed late, and worked on the files and whatever else he had.
“Y/N, what did you do over there?” Eren asked whilst lying back down in the couch in his pants and sweatshirt.
“Nothing to be honest. all I did was make coffee and write in files that the old assistant had to write in.” Y/N said as she plopped down on a sofa beside the window.
”You didn’t see any suspicious or weird behaviour right?” Mikasa asked.
”No no. It’s alright Mikasa, besides this internship is almost ending and we are almost done with university.” Y/N said as she sipped on her juice.
”As long as you are alright we are happy.” Armin said before reading his book.
“Thanks Armin.” Y/N mumbled as she smiled happily at him.
.
.
.
“You’ll be working as my assistant from now on Y/N. Of course, the pay will be rewarding if you do your job right. You’ll earn £96,276 every year which will be £8023 every month, if you need more you’ll have to work hard for it. Just sign at the bottom of the contract when you’re ready.” Erwin rambled as he leaned over the desk a bit and smirked at Y/N, pushing the contract forward.
Sat still in her tiny, uncomfortable chair, Y/N looked at the contract in shock. Just two days ago she was a stranger to him and now she was being granted a position in a n extremely successful company as the CEO’s assistant.
”I-I don’t know what to say!” Y/N said as she looked up at him. “I’m still in University so how will I be able to work.?”
”Don’t worry about that. I called your University and discussed this with them, they’ll forward you the information that you missed out on.” Erwin explained. “Of course, you’ll also get a free ride to here and you must have a uniform. Just sign the paper.”
Y/N could do this. With all that money, she’d be able to pay bills, buy groceries and would still have lots of cash still leftover. Not to mention that she would also be getting promoted for her behaviour and hard work. Grabbing the pen shakily, Y/N signed the paper and looked up at Erwin. Almost instantly as the pen left the paper, Erwin snatched it away and kept it in a safe document.
“That’s a good girl..” Erwin mumbled to himself as he put it in his drawer and locked it. “Now then Y/N, let’s get straight to work shall we?”
“What would you like me to do sir?” Y/N asked watching Erwin stand up and lean over the desk, face’s practically in each other’s. “s-sir?”
“You wanna be a good little assistant Y/N?” Erwin asked, gently grabbing her chin. Y/N sat paralysed, unable to move. Why was he touching her like this? How could she get away from him?
”S-sir could you please m-move bac-“ Y/N began to stutter out.
”Quiet doll. Get on your knees for me, that’s your first order.” Erwin whispered in her ear. “Don’t keep me waiting-“
Y/N dashed towards the door, not caring if the chair tipped over. She would forget about the internship and leave this stupid company, tell her University that she rejected the job. Twisting the door knob, Y/N found it to be locked.
“No.. no no no! Someone help me! Get me out of here-“ Y/N yelled out as she banged her fist on the door. Erwin’s hand quickly grabbed her shoulder and turned her around.
”Now now Y/N. We wouldn’t want you to get fired especially from the biggest company in the world. Imagine how hard it’d be for you to get a job once people find out that you lack teamwork and manners. Not just you, what about your friends? They won’t have jobs either!” Erwin said, trying to manipulate Y/N.
”Get away from me your creep! I don’t care if that happens, you’re a nasty pervert who forces people to do things against their will.” Y/N yelled as she backed into the door.
”Whatever are you talking about my dear Y/N? You signed the contract, you’re bound to me forever. And sure we have quite an age gap, but that doesn’t stop me from living you like the pretty doll you are!” Erwin said menacingly.
”W-what.” Y/N mumbled as she stared into his icy blue eyes.
”That’s right Y/N, it’s either you get on your knees and listen to me like you’re meant to or else I’ll pull some strings and get your stupid friends in jail.” Erwin muttered as he placed a hand on her neck. “Choose wisely. You only have 10 seconds!”
What else could Y/N do? Get married to a man who was twice her age, live her life in riches in return for her obedience and body or fight back and risk her friends’ lives and futures.
“You promise you won’t do anything to my friends.?” Y/N asked nervously. Erwin chuckled at her response as he grabbed her chin.
“Oh Y/N. I knew you’d come along with my plans.” Erwin whispered before grabbing her cheeks and pulling her into a rough yet passionate kiss. “Be a good girl and let Daddy play with you.”
.
.
.
“E-Erwin I promise I didn’t mean to do anything! I swear!” Y/N pleaded as her dress was dropped on the marble floor and Erwin dragged her by her arm.
”Nile. Of all people you go talk to that bastard!” Erwin grumbled before throwing her into their shared bedroom. “Why did you do that Y/N? To make me jealous?”
”I p-promise I didn’t do anything on purpose! He just started talking to me at the very start of the event!” Y/N sobbed out as she fell onto the floor.
”Liar. Get up right now Y/N.” Erwin demanded in which Y/N immediately listened to. “It’s because you think he looks better, right Y/N? Do you think he’s better than me?”
”No-“ Y/N begun to say.
”Did you see the way he looked at you!? You and Nile were practically kissing from what I saw, he was so close to your face. I bet everyone else saw as well.” Erwin yelled.
“N-no. I’m sorry E-Erwin.” Y/N mumbled as she looked at her feet.
“A sorry isn’t good enough. You act like such a goddess on the outside when actually you are a slut, a gold digger, my fucking whore.” Erwin muttered as he gripped her hair, causing a yelp to erupt from Y/N’s lungs.
“I’m sorry Erwin! I’ll make it up to you, I promise!” Y/N said as she held his hands.
”Oh I know you will, whether you like it or not.” Erwin replied as he pushed her on the bed.

MIW how you met and when they realized they liked you
Vinny
I feel like the two of you would meet through mutual friends honestly, he’s a gamer and clearly enjoys doing it with his friends (his LAN stream) so I feel like you would meet through mutual friends at some get together he’s having
And he’s like woah? A girl that’s playing WoW and not bitching about it? She’s actively enjoying it? She’s not whining all the boys are spending so much time doing it? Maybe I should like get to know her a little bit and make friends
And that leads to active gaming sessions together both when he’s home and on tour
And during said gaming sessions you two grow closer, starting to talk more 1-1 and about your lives, etc.
And one day he’s suddenly like wait, I am constantly checking my messages and shit to see if I’m hearing from her, what the hell is wrong with me?
Truthfully I could see him realizing he likes you and then distancing himself a little bit to try and figure out if he actually likes you like that or not
But once he realizes he does, and he misses hearing from you all the time it’s game over.
Next time y’all play he’d causally make a joke or something about you having a boyfriend just to feel you out, see if you do or not
And the second you say you don’t well, now the two of you have a date planned for when tour is over.
Ricky
I hands down believe that you’d meet Ricky in a way to do with books. For this I’m going with an online book club
The two of you wind up replying back to each others comments a lot and seem to enjoy talking about the books so much that eventually one of you starts your own conversation in the others inbox
That leads to you having more in depth conversations about the books you are both reading and you both find out you are authors
So then you two discuss what you are writing with each other, glad to finally have a friend who understands what it’s like to wake up from a dream with a random idea, to hate what your idea turned into, etc.
Eventually it leads to more personal conversations and you realize you both live close by so you meet for coffee after months of talking online to each other
By the end of that conversation he knows that he can’t let you walk away without at least trying to get a date with you so he asks
A couple dates in he’s convinced this is it, he wants nothing more than being in a relationship with you and finally asks
Chris
Chris low key confuses me a little bit
I feel like you would meet through work somehow, that you were a makeup artist, photographer that shot them for something, an interviewer, something along those lines
And the two of you have to remain in contact to discuss your ongoing project, slowly getting to know each other as time goes on
But you’d have to deal with his stubborn and hard head, because this man is a perfectionist and if the project you are working on together isn’t going how he wants it to he’s going to be up your ass and frustrated
Like we’re talking the two of you arguing for hours because you think this idea for the photo shoot would be better than his, or that this makeup look is better than what he is wanting you to do
But in the end it comes out great and he comes out of his shell, the two of you continuing to talk long after the project is done.
I think it would take him the longest to come to terms with the fact that he likes you
Okay but I just want to know how her day is because she’s my friend
Yeah she’s beautiful but just because I think she is doesn’t mean I like her
Oh fuck, I do have a crush on her
Like he would be pissed off with himself for the fact he likes you, because he’s too busy and doesn’t have enough time to worry about someone else
Honestly I could see him debating if he should continue to talk to you or not anymore because he doesn’t want a relationship, isn’t looking for one
But you’re stubborn so when he tries to cut you off you make sure you still send him a good morning text, or whatever every single day until you finally see him in person
Which leads to a fight, him trying to say can’t you see I’m too busy for this? That I’m not interested?
And by the end of the fight he’s kissing you and that’s how the cookie crumbles
Ryan
He confuses me slightly
He’s really chill but I genuinely think he’d be impressed with someone who is an amazing artist in their own right
Whether that be you’re a fellow musician, an author, etc
So going with musician he sees you playing one night with your band that his friend drug him to go see
And you’re just fucking amazing at guitar, like you blow him away with how talented you are
His friend knows someone in your band so they introduce the two of you and you spend half the night talking about your set ups, favorite brands of guitars and strings, your pedals, etc
This leads to you exchanging numbers and discussing different things musically
He continues to go to your bands shows at the local bars/venues
One day he sees you on stage and suddenly he finds you attractive
Like fuck, has her hair always been that nice? Have her eyes always been that bright? She looks so amazing and happy up there doing it, I love that
And eventually the messages about your music turns into more
And one day he accidentally texts you instead of his friend saying how he’s debating asking you out
And you of course message him back asking him to just ask you so that you can say yes already 😅
Justin
I feel like he’d be one that would 100% run into you at a bar and be like fuck, who’s that?
Admires you all night from afar, maybe buy you a drink
And when the bartender points out who bought your next drink you make your way over
Just to say thanks, not intending to hit on him or anything
And that’s all it is, you say thanks, you talk for a little bit and get along and then your friends want to move on to the next bar so you do, not exchanging numbers
He wishes you both did because the two of you hit it off pretty well in his opinion
A week or two later you are out with friends again and he’s at a bar you are at, and is like fuck this, I’m going to go talk to her
You both wind up talking for hours, long after both of your friends left, giving up on getting you to go with them and same for him.
Next thing you know the two of you are at a late night diner having dinner together and still enjoying your company, finally exchanging numbers before you leave
You wind up asking him out before he asks you, deciding you liked him and it was worth just being forward.
It doesn’t take long before he asks you to be his girlfriend though, you beat him to asking him on a date but he’s determined he’s going to beat you to defining the relationship

the first instalment for the bruise childhood friends au, mostly setting the scene before we get into all the shenanigans and fluff. Jay and Cole are about 8-9 here. cross posted to Ao3
------
Jay hummed quietly while his dad talked with the adults. They were at another event — Jay didn’t care to remember which, they were all the same to him. Get in the car with the driver, arrive at the destination, don’t bother Dad while he talks with the grown-ups. Maybe play a game or read a book, but don’t be loud. Today was no different.
“—I think that it will go well,” his dad said.
The man he was talking with raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
“Yes, if all goes according to plan it’ll be a hit.”
“I would hope so,” the other man said. “I’ve invested too much time and money into this for it to fail.”
“Of course.”
Jay continued to sit in the corner, but he was bored. Just as always. But surely he would only need to wait a bit longer, and then he and Dad could go out for dinner. He was starting to get hungry. Really hungry. Jay decided to take the chance.
He walked up to Cliff Gordon and pulled his sleeve. “Dad?” he said. “I’m getting hungry,”
“Not right now, Jay. I’m talking with Mr. Brookstone here.” Jay’s dad turned to the other man. “My apologies, he gets a bit restless,” he gave a dry chuckle.
Mr. Brookstone laughed. “That’s alright. My son is the same,”
Jay’s dad looked down at him. “Jay, why don’t you go wander around for a bit? You can go buy a snack,” he placed a couple coins into Jay’s hand. Score!
“Okay, Dad.” Jay said.
Dad turned back to Mr. Brookstone. “Now, where were we?”
That was Jay’s cue to leave. He turned and went out the big fancy door they’d come in through, then went down the hallway. There had definitely been a vending machine somewhere.
When Jay finally found it, he was shocked by all the options. “Wow,” he mumbled, mostly to himself. “So many choices.”
“Yeah,” a voice from behind said.
Jay squeaked and spun around to see another kid, probably his age.
“Are you okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” the kid frowned.
“You just surprised me.”
The kid shrugged. “Why’re you here? Didn’t think the audience was allowed backstage,” he uses a lot of big words, Jay thought.
“My dad works here,” Jay said. At least, he was pretty sure Dad worked here. Though he hadn’t been in this building before, so who knew?
“Same,”
“Your dad’s an actor too?” Jay asked.
The boy shuffled a bit, like he didn’t like this conversation. That was okay, Jay didn’t really like it either. “He’s a singer,” he finally said.
“A singer? Like The Fold?” They were a band that Jay’s dad worked with before. He remembered them because one of the members gave him a lollipop.
“Yeah, kinda. He’s a Royal Blacksmith,”
Jay had not heard of them before, though that wasn’t surprising. He hadn’t heard of a lot of people. “Sounds cool,” he decided on saying.
“I guess,” he said.
This kid seems lonely, Jay thought. Like me.
That makes us the same. Couldn’t hurt to be friends, right?
Jay held out his hand. “I’m Jay Gordon,” he said. “We’re friends now. What’s your name?”
“Cole Hence,” the other boy said.
“Great!” Jay smiled. “I’ve got some money. Wanna share chips or something?”
“Yes, please,” Cole said shyly.
Jay turned back to the vending machine. “‘Kay, what d’you want?”
“Anything’s fine,”
“Gummy bears?”
Cole hummed. “Yeah, sure,”
Very, very, carefully, Jay inserted the coins into the slot. Then he pressed the little number pad. 0-4-6, he typed. The packet of candy fell out. “Got it!” Jay said cheerfully. He held their prize up.
“There’s a table,” Cole pulled Jay’s arm. “We can sit there.”
“Why’s there a random table?” Jay wondered.
Cole only shrugged in response as they sat down.
Jay tore open the pack and passed it to Cole. “So which one is your favourite flavour?” He asked.
“Strawberry,” Cole said. “Yours?”
Jay thought for a moment. All of them were pretty good, in his opinion. “I can’t decide,” he said. “They’re all too good!”
“That’s true,” Cole agreed. “But I still think strawberry is the best.”
“I think real strawberries are better,” Jay took another gummy.
“That’s also true,”
By now, they had finished the pack. There hadn’t been a lot inside.
Cole looked at the empty packet, then at Jay. “Do you want to go exploring?” He asked. “I don’t know when your dad will be done working, but mine won’t be for a while.”
Jay’s dad wouldn’t be finished working for a while, if the way he sent Jay off was anything to go by. “Mine too,” he said.
Cole smiled a little at that. “Great!” He said. “We can keep talking then,”
“And exploring,” Jay reminded him. “I want to explore.”
“Yeah!”
“Where shall we go first, captain?” Jay put on a fancy accent, like the ones that he saw on TV.
“Hmmmm,” Cole looked around. “The balcony? It’s where fancy people sit!”
“I thought balconies were for standing,”
“I dunno,” Cole shrugged. “That’s just what my mom told me,”
“It does sound cool, though,” Jay said. “And I want to pretend to be a fancy person,”
“‘Kay,” Cole said. “This way,” he lead them up a flight of stairs — they were so pretty! Who thought even the stairs needed to be decorated? Jay wondered.
He decided to ask Cole about that. Cole seemed to know a lot about this place. “Hey, Cole?”
Cole turned to look at him. “Yeah?”
“How come everything here is so fancy?”
“Because it just is, I guess.”
A lot of things just were, Jay thought. Like how Dad just never had time to play with him, or how Mom wasn’t around, or even how his classmates didn’t like him.
“We’re here,” Cole said, snapping Jay out of his thoughts. He looked around. The stage was very far in front of them, and he could see the giant speakers too. Jay felt very small compared to this room.
“It’s huge,” he said in awe.
Cole grinned. “Yeah, it is.”
“You can see the entire theatre from here!”
Cole considered that. “Well, maybe not the entire theatre,” he said. “But definitely a lot of it.”
Jay laughed. “It’s so cool!”
“When they’re performing, the entire stage lights up,” Cole pointed at the lights. “They even change colour.”
“You’ve seen it?”
“Yeah. My dad performs here a lot,”
“That must be fun,” Jay said.
“Sometimes,”
“So, do you—“ Jay was cut off by a loud “JASON EDWARD GORDON! WHERE ARE YOU?”
“Oh! I’m in here, Dad!” Jay called out.
Dad marched in looking angry. “Jay, what are you doing in here? I’ve been looking for you!”
“I was exploring,” Jay said softly.
That did not seem to be an excuse for Dad. “You were supposed to get some food and then come back,” he scolded.
“Sorry,” Jay mumbled.
Cole was still frozen near the railing. “Um, sir?” He squeaked. “It wasn’t Jay’s fault. I’m the one who thought of coming up here,”
His expression softened at that. “And who are you, lad?”
“Cole Hence, sir. My dad works here,”
Jay’s dad frowned. “And your dad is..?”
“Lou Brookstone.”
“Ah,” Dad looked around and shook his head. “I was talking to your father earlier. He’s in the main lobby right now, waiting for you as well. I can bring you there to meet him.”
“Okay,”
Now Dad was looking at Jay. “Jay, next time you wander off you need to tell me,” he had a strict look on his face. “Do you understand?”
“Yes,”
“Good. Come on, let’s go meet Mr. Brookstone,” Jay’s dad marched the two of them out the door and into the elevator, then to the main lobby.
“Dad!” Cole ran up to Mr. Brookstone.
“Hello, Cole. Where have you been?” Mr. Brookstone looked mildly confused.
“I was exploring with Jay,” Cole pointed at Jay, who waved awkwardly.
“That’s nice,” Mr. Brookstone said tiredly. He patted Cole on the head.
Jay’s dad looked uncomfortable, and he cleared his throat. “Ahem,” he coughed. “It’s getting late, and we still need to get home. We’ll meet again next week as planned, yes?” His smile was very strained.
“Yes, of course,” Mr. Brookstone said, like he was just realising how late it was. “Come on, Cole. Let’s go,” he pushed Cole in the direction of the door.
“Bye!” Cole waved cheerfully, undeterred by his dad’s sour mood.
Jay waved back. “I’ll see you next week! I’ll bring games and everything!”
Dad looked at Jay. He didn’t seem as angry anymore. “It’s good that you’re making friends,” he commented.
“Really?” Jay looked up.
“Yes,” Cliff said. “We have to get home now, and you still need to eat dinner and shower. So hurry up,” he walked out the door, Jay following closely behind.
I made a friend! Jay smiled at that thought. And I get to see him again next week! Maybe getting dragged to his dad’s meets wasn’t so bad after all.

Tumblr media
Time was flowing agonisingly slowly while she was anticipating that meeting. She had her own obligations to focus on, yet found herself constantly thinking about the upcoming event. Every time she and Anakin met on the roof, they could talk heart-to-heart, and these were the conversations that partly made her fall for him. They stopped them when he got together with Padme, even before Y/N knew about it, which only confirmed it was something really intimate.
When the time came, she felt extremely nervous yet excited at the same time. She thought she was early, but Anakin was already there - standing by the barrier and enjoying the view. She had to take a deep breath before getting his attention, but he had already sensed her - and turned to face her first.
"Hi." He beamed, standing there without the robe, but just in the outfit he always wore underneath it. With his hair a bit ruffled by the wind, and his toned body leaning against the railing, he was as dreamy as he could, making her weak in her knees.
"Hi," she replied, taking another deep breath. "I suppose neither of us wanted to be late, huh?" she added, hoping to release the tension.
"We're both in time for the night views. Come, take a look."
She approached him and leaned against the barrier, too, making sure she didn't touch him in the process. He seemed to notice it, but didn't comment, keeping that few inches long distance between them.
For a moment, they stood there in silence, enjoying the views, but the atmosphere was definitely tense, and they could both feel it. When it became too much to handle, Y/N spoke:
"You know, I miss Naboo at times. The landscapes, I mean. But... Coruscant at night is breathtaking, too. Certainly has some..." She turned to glance at him. "Views to enjoy," she added, then quickly looked away, realising what she'd said.
"We can agree on this," he replied, also looking at her. A shiver went down her spine, and she wasn't sure if he noticed.
"You're so cheesy I can't stand you." She rolled her eyes, smacking him on the arm.
"You started!" he argued, and they both started laughing as they smacked and poked each other teasingly, as if they were just kids again. As the laughter started dying down, Anakin suddenly grabbed her wrists gently to stand opposite her and look into her eyes, causing her to stiffen.
"Y/N, there are no words to express how much I've missed you," he admitted, still breathing heavily. "And all of this."
"Me too," she replied before she could think about it, but it was the truth. "But you know... I didn't want to... Make things awkward. I mean, if I had a boyfriend like you..."
"What do you mean like me?"
At this point Y/N thought that it would be best if someone just severed her tongue before she talked to Anakin at all.
"I'm not going to compliment you because I won't hear the end of it," she said, freeing her wrists from his hands. "The point is, I wouldn't want some random girl hanging out with my boyfriend so much."
"You're not a random girl. You've never been," he replied, making her heart skip a beat yet again. "But I understand what you're saying."
Y/N turned away from him once again to be able to calm down.
"While we're at it... Has anything changed? How are you feeling?" she asked, not looking at him.
"I haven't been better in a long time. And you? Tell me you don't want to leave the Order anymore."
She took another deep breath. "No, I don't."
"I'm so glad," he admitted, still looking at her while she was trying to avoid his gaze. "I was so scared. This place wouldn't be the same without you."
She didn't comment, afraid she might embarrass herself even further. Instead, she really focused on the view, the sparkling lights of the night reflecting in Anakin's eyes she tried not to look at.
"You know, I almost forgot how beautiful it can be around here."
"That's why I hope we can come back to meeting here."
"Because of the view?" she asked just to say something, not expecting his answer at all.
"Because of you."
Y/N turned her head to look at him, more confused than ever. These weren't even jokes anymore and she didn't know how to react. What was he saying?
They were standing opposite each other again, closer than before. A small, almost shy smile didn't disappear from Anakin's face as he carefully put his hands on her shoulders, sending shivers through her body.
"You look beautiful," he admitted, and she closed her eyes as if in pain.
"Oh, why did you have to say that..."
"I'm sorry. That's just what I see," he replied, unaware of what exactly he was apologising for. "I know I've never told you this before, but I have always thought that."
At that moment, Y/N didn't even know what to think anymore. Her heart was racing, but she tried to stay conscious and not miss anything he was saying. The Force was tingling inside her as if hinting that something was about to happen.
"Oh, I just remembered... That guy... The one you fell in love with..." Anakin began suddenly, lowering his head.
"Anakin, he doesn't exist," she cut him off, panicking. "No, I mean, he does, but... Oh, can we just pretend like I've never said that?"
Anakin could sense even through the Force how nervous and clearly embarrassed she was. He wasn't sure whether to drop the subject or try to help her...
"Y/N, if something's wrong, you can always talk to me..."
"Nothing's wrong," she whispered, but it was a lie, and she couldn't even look into his eyes as she said that.
"But you know I can sense it, right?" he said with sincere concern. "Oh, Y/N, just come here," he added as he opened his arms to envelope her with them, causing her to hold her breath.
They've never hugged. Not like this.
It was so warm and comforting, and of course she didn't want it to end, but at the same time she was panicking. This embrace wasn't helping her case, if anything, it was worsening it, making her wish he would hug her like this more often.
"Better?" he asked quietly as he pulled her even closer, so close she could hear his heartbeat, and if that wasn't only making her fall harder...
"Better. Thank you," she replied, sighing. "But we should stop, someone might see us," she added quickly, taking a step back that clearly took him by surprise.
"We're not doing anything wrong," he said, and she could swear she saw something gleam in his eyes when he did, sounding a bit darker than usual.
Well, if I weren't falling in love with you as we went, then yes, we wouldn't be.
"You're not exactly the one to trust when it comes to rules," she said with a chuckle, once again trying to relieve the tension.
"Oi, don't act like you've never broken them," he retorted and she sighed again.
I'm breaking them every time I see you.
"Obi-Wan says it's you who demoralised me," she said truthfully, leaning herself against the barrier again.
"He didn't stop me, though," Anakin said proudly, and they both laughed again.
"And you don't seem ashamed at all!"
"Hey, but what did I do? Only made you race with me once or twice..."
"Or twenty times." She nudged him with her elbow.
"It's not like I put a lightsaber to your throat, you agreed to it."
"But if you weren't there, I would have never even thought of such races."
"But you enjoyed them!" he argued teasingly, and both of them were unbelievably happy that the atmosphere changed to such a relaxed one. "And now we don't race because you know you can't defeat me."
Y/N smacked him in the head with no hesitation.
"Hey!" he yelled in surprise.
"Not everyone was piloting aircrafts from the moment they were born!" She smacked him again, leaving him flabbergasted. "I only wanted to grow plants and stuff!"
A cocky smile quickly appeared on his face.
"But if you stayed on Naboo growing plants, you wouldn't be here with me now.... And isn't now a better option?"
Her first instinct was to say yes immediately, but then she realised...
If she had stayed on Naboo, at least she would have never fallen in love with him. But then, when they were there together, laughing, teasing each other, relaxed...
"Maybe it is," she admitted. "And maybe I just like you too much, bloody Skywalker," she added quietly, avoiding his gaze again. It was somehow therapeutic to tell him this without him knowing what she actually meant.
The cockiness on Anakin's face turned into sincere happiness as he grabbed her hand again, making sure to use his real hand instead of the metal one.
"Me too," he replied, and before she could melt into a puddle right then and there, she cackled, crossing her arms.
"Oh, yes, you definitely like yourself too much."
"Hey, you know that's not what I meant!"
They began laughing again, hysterically at that, not having felt this relaxed for ages - and they would be doing this for much longer if it weren't for a familiar voice that interrupted.
"There you are."
They immediately composed themselves and looked to their side - Obi-Wan was approaching them with a small smile on his face.
"Oh," Y/N cackled one last time, then took a deep breath to calm down. "Hello, Master."
"It's nice to see you two in high spirits," he said, then looked pointedly at Y/N, as if asking how things were. She replied with a face that clearly said everything was alright, even if it wasn't.
"Nice to see you too, Master," Anakin replied with exaggerated happiness.
"I have news. Anakin, it was decided that we'll be trying to rescue the Chancellor in a few days."
"Finally," he said eagerly.
"And am I going?" Y/N asked, and Obi-Wan frowned.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. We're taking the best at piloting."
"Oh, of course." She laughed, then patted Anakin on his shoulder. "And here we have the best pilot of the Galaxy."
"At least you're admitting that now," he said proudly and she shook her head.
"Shut up or I'll use the Force to do it."
"You two are still kids, aren't you?" Obi-Wan shook his head, too. "I want to leave you to yourselves, but who knows? Maybe you'll blow up the temple if I leave?"
"Oh, Master Kenobi. You know I am responsible," Y/N claimed, giggling.
"But are you responsible enough to handle him?"
"Are you both against me?" Anakin asked, pretending to be outraged. This was when Y/N seized the opportunity and walked a little to stand next to Obi-Wan.
"What do you say, Master Kenobi?"
"I can't believe this." Anakin stared at both of them, then sent Y/N a look that made her want to shout at him for doing it next to Kenobi. No matter what his intentions were, his gaze was so suggestive it made her feel hotter. Obi-Wan, however, seemed to have missed it.
Soon they returned to the temple and all in all, that evening turned out to be much nicer than Y/N anticipated. Her nerves were gone and she was eager to meet with Anakin yet again, this time ready to talk to him, even if her feelings were still devouring her from the inside.
However, on the night before Anakin's departure, things went downhill. Fear filled up her heart and the scariest visions - mostly those of Anakin dying - began to haunt her. This was when she began wondering... If she were to never see him again, maybe she should confess to him?
Would it haunt her forever if she didn't?
Unexplainable were the feelings that led her to his bedroom that night. The moment she saw his door, however, reality washed over her. It was ridiculous.
Little did she know Anakin wasn't asleep, either. He was staring into the ceiling above his bed, thinking about the upcoming mission, when suddenly something disturb his thoughts.
A familiar voice, echoing in his head... It didn't take him much to realise it was Y/N's voice.
Her thoughts were so full of fear and so loud he could hear them through the Force even without intending it. She was close, and he really wanted to know why.
"No, I can't go to him, this is so stupid... Why did I even come here? Why would I even tell him? I can't tell him the truth..."
These words ignited his curiosity even more. He left his bed quickly, then walked to the door even faster as he could feel she began walking away.
"Y/N," he said, causing her to stop dead in her tracks.
"Anakin?" She gulped, turning to see him, and then she immediately gulped again when she realised he was shirtless. "Oh, what are you doing here?" she asked as if she didn't expect him to be there at all.
"I sensed you. And I know you came to see me."
Her heart dropped. He couldn't have heard, could he?
"I'm sorry, I didn't want to wake you. You have the mission tomorrow, so I'll just go back to bed now, good night."
Anakin wasn't going to let it go and he used the Force to pull her back towards himself, causing her to gasp.
"Y/N, tell me why you came." He put his hands on her shoulders as she tried not to stare at his bare chest. "You know I would never... I don't know, do anything to harm you in any way. Why are you scared?"
She didn't have any response to this. Looking down, she just hoped it could just pass...
"Come inside, let's talk." He gestured towards his room, then let her in before closing the door.
Another silence enveloped them, one that Anakin wasn't going to endure.
"After our meeting on the roof, I thought we were okay again?" he asked and she just gave up.
"Kriff, I'm just scared for you, okay?" she said eventually, dropping her hands. "I'm devastated by the thought that you might die during this mission. And now more than ever I regret all these moments when I was avoiding you. That's it."
That was not it, of course, it was just part of the truth, but already more than she had intended to tell him.
Anakin's expression softened immediately. His heart fluttered at these words, and he thought it was high time he stopped lying to himself, too.
He moved closer to her. "Oh, Y/N..."
"I know I should be used to this as a Jedi, but..."
"Shhh," he whispered, then suddenly cupped her face to make her look at him. Warmth filled her up immediately; she didn't expect that of him, but at this point it was only between them and the darkness around...
"I understand. I will be scared for you, too," he admitted. "But I will come back safe. And with the Chancellor. I assure you."
"Promise me?" she asked before she could stop herself and he nodded, smiling softly.
"I could promise you this and much more."
Everything was getting warmer - her body, the atmosphere, the air in the smallest gap between them, the hands that were still holding her face. They were both looking into each other's eyes with their hearts racing, the Force tingling them as if trying to foreshadow that something was about to happen.
"I trust you, Skywalker."
"And I'm... So happy to hear that." Anakin's gaze suddenly wandered to her lips... And they have never been closer.
"Y/N, maybe before I go..." he began quietly. "Maybe I should do something I should've done much earlier."
"What is it?" she asked, almost shivering under his touch.
His eyes wandered to her lips again, and then it happened so suddenly she didn't have time to stop him: he kissed her, full on the lips, bringing her as close to himself as possible.
And at that point, nothing else mattered as she responded to the kiss, deepening it immediately when she put her hands on his bare chest for support. Her heart was racing faster than ever, even though her mind hadn't registered what was happening yet. Her body seemed to be acting on its own, knowing that the only thing it wanted was him. It was electrifying; they were lost in each other, and neither of them cared about anything else other than the person before them.
But when Y/N’s back hit the door under the pressure of his kiss, she woke up.
"Anakin, we can't," she almost cried, pushing him away from her with as much force as she could.
"Did you not want that?" he asked in disbelief, his heart shattering just a little when he saw the look on his face.
He had realised how he really felt about her a long time ago and wanted to prepare her for it a bit more delicately, but since the opportunity came... He just could not let it go.
"It's not about what I want, it's... We can't." She was saying all of this with a knot in her heart, knowing very well how much she wanted to stay with him right then and there, and give into the night. "I'm sorry, I... Have a safe mission," she added and before he could stop her, left the room as quickly as possible.
Anakin stood in the same place for the moment, as if glued to the ground, then plopped onto his bed with his head hung low.
He knew they weren't supposed to do this. But if so... Then why did it feel so right when their lips met mere minutes ago?
Now he knew the mission was the least of his concerns.
Y/N was walking as fast as she could back to her bedroom, running almost, holding back tears of frustration. That kiss, that few seconds were the most blissful seconds of her entire life, the happiest she's been in months, maybe years even... And yet, she wasn't allowed to feel this ever again.
Maybe the Jedi weren't as perfect as she had perceived them... If they didn't even allow happiness.
Eventually, she couldn't hold it back anymore - she stopped in one of the corridors and let the tears flow, her sobs echoing in the sleeping Jedi temple. With her face covered, she didn't even notice she had company.
"No need to cry there is."
Y/N almost jumped at Yoda's voice. She looked up and wiped her tears at once, composing herself.
"Oh, Master Yoda." She bowed slightly. "I didn't expect you here."
Yoda gazed at her searchingly.
"Conflicted you are, I sense."
She knew there was no use in lying.
"Yes. A lot," she whispered, not looking at him, and he fell silent for a moment.
"Take a break you should," he said eventually. "So many bad emotions the way to the dark side are."
She nodded, bowing again and thinking that a break might really help her.
"I will, Master."

Hours in Silence (Simon "Ghost" Riley x Reader) 18+࿐♡ ˚.*ೃ
Tumblr media
This was purely inspired by like half of a Drake song LOL, I wanted to originally do this for Graves but felt too similar to my first series so I thought I would try my hand with Ghost!! (Yes I'm writing a Ghost drabble to a Drake song, trust me I know how corny it is LMFAO, I am insane, let me live thank you)
Also, this is my first time writing for Ghost pls don't judge LOL
Based on the first bit of Hours in Silence
gn! (I use the word “heat” once) (no use of Y/N), mentions of a Dear John letter (if you don't know it's a letter usually sent to military members when the s/o wants to break up)
Word Count: 1.3k
Warnings: some NSFW, light smut, slight OOC (don't kill me pls), cursing, pet names (if I forgot something pls lmk)
₊°✧︡ ˗ ˏ ˋ ♡ ˎˊ ˗
Leave your phone, come to mine You'll catch a hand in due time I think, think that I Could fuck the idea of him outta your mind You said he rap, he ain't signed, that ain't a good sign Change your mind, good conversation and some rosé wine Unless there's some other things you gotta mind You're my baby, ayy, ayy The smoke got me talkin' in Dutch A pill in Ibiza, so what? She leanin' on me, I'm her crutch She creamin' on me, I'm her crush
Distracted was putting it lightly. Your mind was racing, and it wasn't because of the mission. You sat on some far enough away hill covered by trees gazing through a sniper scope. Your mind kept going back to the Dear John letter you had received before packing up to stake out some warehouse.
You hadn't told anyone on 141, it didn't seem too important at the time, but now alone waiting for a signal your mind wandered to the letter.
“I’m sorry but we’re done,”
It’s all you needed to read to get the message. It was shit. What a waste of time you thought to yourself.
“You there, hello? Is there any movement?” the low voice cut through your thoughts
“No movement yet L.T.”, fuck you weren't even paying attention.
“I need you focused up there Sergeant, don’t go falling asleep on me”, Ghost was stern but thoughtful, he could tell he was losing you up there.
You and Ghost had somewhat of a complicated relationship. You jokingly flirted with him to get him nervous and he always deflected trying to maintain focus on the mission at hand. You both equally got under each other's skin.
Ghost, prior to the Dear John, was aware of your relationship, which he respected. He never pushed, hence the ignoring of your attempted flirting. Somewhere down the line, he hinted at how the “jokes” of flirting became very real. He wasn't sure if this was something he had made up in his head and he was feeling a certain way towards you.
Your mind immediately went back to your shitty Dear John, as you were readjusting your position hoping to catch a better view.
“Sarge, why do I see movement but you’re not calling it”, you were caught now, no excuse would cover this up.
“Sorry, L.T. my view wasn't clear I was adjusting”
“Come down, I'm sending a different sniper up, I can’t trust you in this state of mind”
That one stung. It wasn't your fault… maybe it was. You should've told him about the letter, it could've explained everything but you didn't want to be seen as weak. With a heavily bruised ego, you packed up and swapped places with some rookie who shot you a sympathetic look.
Ghost sent you back to the base, it was bad. Usually, you would stick around and finish the mission but you could tell Ghost didn't want you anywhere near it tonight. Throwing the door to your room open you slammed your bag on the bed, cursing under your breath.
Stripping from the uniform, you changed into shorts and some random t-shirt, you just needed a break after a shitty night. Closing the dresser drawers, a knock on the door caused you to jump.
“Who is it?” you knew it was Ghost, you knew you were in trouble, easier to play dumb though.
“Open up,” always to the point Ghost was.
Your bare feet padded over to the door slowly opening it, as Ghost used his body to push the rest of it open.
“What the fuck was tonight?”
“I don't know”, you felt like you were a shell of yourself, his tone was unsettling. He had every right to be upset but the weight of everything was a bit too heavy for you to attempt to explain.
“You know”, he read you too well, Ghost’s eyes started searching your room for a sign of why you were so out of it. He landed on the nightstand with the torn envelope and letter sitting where you had left them before the mission.
“What’s this”, he was walking towards the letter.
“It’s nothing, stop”, attempting to block his path to the letter, which failed as he pushed past you. The height difference was working in his favor yet again.
Ghost picked up the Dear John, you watched as his eyes scanned the paper. He was reading more of it than you had.
“Ghost, put it down please”, basically pleading with him at this point.
“You should've told me”, despite having his mask on, you could see the shift in his eyes.
“Yeah I know, I didn't want to be a burden though”, it felt awkward to be discussing your breakup with your Lieutenant, it was uncharted territory for the both of you.
“This was a distraction tonight, I can’t have that with soldiers in the field, understood?”
“Yes sir, it won't happen again, I’m sorry again”, apologies spilling out, it was embarrassing.
“Dear John’s are shit”, he tossed the letter down, shrugging his shoulders.
“Tell me about it, ha”, you tried to laugh it off as you sat on the bed looking up at Ghost as he sauntered towards you. The air was heavy and something had shifted between the two of you.
“You know, if you ever need a distraction when we aren't on the field I can help you with that”, Ghost looked down at you on the bed.
“Ghost…”
“Call me Simon, please”, your breath hitched when he said this.
“Simon, what are you talking about”,
He bends down to whisper in your ear, “I’m saying, I think that I could fuck the idea of him outta your mind”,
You freeze becoming hyper-aware of what was happening, a cough escapes your lips as you try to catch your breath.
“I need you focused Sergeant”,
“ I don't know”, you were struggling to grasp the concept being presented to you.
“I’ll be your crutch, lean on me it's okay”, as he said this, his hands grabbed yours pulling you up off the bed, and close to him. You felt wobbly as you placed your hands on his chest to find some balance.
“Go ahead”, he was motioning to his cloth skeleton mask that covered his face. Your hands slowly crept toward his face, stopping at the base of his neck. You rolled the mask in between your fingers debating on what your next move was.
“It’s alright, I'll tell you when”, Simon encouraged you as you slowly pulled in up, “That's enough, right there”, he had you stop it just so his jaw and lips were exposed.
Simon leans forward pulling you into him, a slight gasp separates your lips as he presses his lips onto yours, kissing back feverishly.
Still connected, Ghost pushed you slowly back onto the bed, as he hovered over top of you.
“Still distracted?” It was a taunting question.
“Hard to say Lieutenant”, Ghost took this as a challenge as he slipped off your shorts leaving you in just underwear. Immediately you pulled him back into a kiss as he pushed his clothed cock up against your heat.
As you both continued, a pair of footsteps was heard in the hallway, causing you to jump up.
“You have to go”, the idea of someone catching you and Ghost was tempting but not worth the repercussions.
Simon connected his lips to your neck as he mumbled into you, “So soon? My love we are just getting started”.
“We can’t risk getting caught Simon, think about it please”, you were hoping he would catch the hint that you weren't done with him. You were up out of the bed searching for your shorts which had been tossed across the room.
“I see, well whenever you're ready to pick this up, come to mine”, Ghost, now out of the bed, was adjusting his hard-on. You gave a small wave as he sauntered out of the room, wondering if what had happened was even real.
You walked towards the nightstand picking it up the Dear John and tossing it in the trash, you had found yourself a new distraction.

There’s been a lot of talk in the fandom lately about this desire to downplay Ed’s atrocities in the first season. As others have discussed, this seems to largely be in an attempt to a) reach a kind of distilled wholesomeness for BlackBonnet that, for all the actual cuteness attached to the ship, doesn’t truly exist when you’re talking about the romance between two deadly pirates, and b) position Izzy as the sole bad guy so that Option A can flourish and/or simply because some fans don’t like him and yay demonizing the characters we’re not fond of. Great stuff, love all that I’ve read. To add onto the conversation just a bit, I think it’s worth emphasizing Izzy’s line in the finale:
“Blackbeard is himself again.”
With the giant caveat that I don’t believe Izzy wanted the Kraken—AKA this level of violence and deadly unpredictability. I mean, Izzy is the guy who was begging Ed for a plan, some measure of stability to stay safe, so he really doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy who’d want to live on a ship where his captain will randomly enter his cabin to cut off toes, his masochistic tendencies aside—but this line is a crystal-clear acknowledgement that the original Blackbeard was at least somewhat like the Kraken is now. What characteristics do we see then?
A sudden and unprompted murder (Lucius)
Potentially circumventing the moral dilemma of that murder via a technicality (I didn’t kill Lucius, the sea did)
A maiming (something Ed has admitted to enjoying and he’s done this specific act of violence in the past)
Rejecting emotional expression (“Stop crying.”)
Downplaying the suffering of others (“It’s just the pinky.”)
Engaging in threats to keep others in line (“Threaten me again, ever… I’ll feed you the rest, understand?”)
Expecting the crew to serve their captain regardless of what they’re struggling with (Who cares if you lost a toe, Izzy, come find me ASAP)
Making good use of others before tossing them aside (the crew will get rid of Stede’s “old dross” and then he’ll maroon them)
The implication that if things don’t occur in what he considers a timely manner, more punishment will follow (“Quickly now! … Quicker! Quicker!”)
Kidnapping (Jim + threatening Frenchie)
Working under the belief that if he can’t be happy, no one else can either (let’s separate the other couples by killing Lucius and keeping Jim on board).
Basically, I’ve seen a lot of posts that engage with the potential nuances of Ed’s past, questioning how bad it really was, and usually ending up on the side of absolving him via headcanons. Maybe he didn’t really set a ship of people on fire, Calico Jack did that and Ed was just passively involved. Do we know that his subordinate actually skinned that guy with a snail fork, or was it just an order given in a fit of fury that Ed later pulled back from? Did he really maim people, or is that just a random example to reflect the violent life he wants to leave behind? And beyond the fact that I think it’s bad analysis to read so much of Ed’s actions as intrinsically up for debate when the narrative itself never draws them into question… yes, Ed maims someone right on screen. We watch him do that and Izzy’s response is, ‘Ah, Ed’s finally back to normal!’
It may well be a slightly more extreme version of normal, but the Kraken didn’t come out of nowhere.
The argument that Ed was healing until Izzy manipulated him into becoming a monster not only ignores Ed’s personal agency—getting yelled at by a co-working in a way they know will hurt you, while horrible, isn’t justification for assault and murder—but also that follow-up of, “Blackbeard is himself again.” Izzy can’t force Ed to become something he’s not if Izzy’s entire purpose here is to bring back who Ed previously was. He’s trying to restore a past behavior, not conjure up a new one that’s the antithesis to Ed’s robe-wearing personality. Even when he was at his happiest with Stede, Ed still gave the snail fork order, threatened the Frenchman for “oomph,” explained casually how to take a ship in a raid (that is, kill everyone on board), was prepared to shoot up a dining room after a bunch of assholes laughed at him, was romanced by Stede letting them burn alive, and his idea of pirate fun is getting whipped in the balls/having animals fight to the death. Ed is a violent person! Because of course he is. He’s a pirate. Izzy isn’t some mastermind who molded Ed until he was a shadow of his former, passivist self, Izzy threw one (1) temper tantrum, found a particularly cruel button to push—“pining for his boyfriend”—and that’s all it took for Ed to choke him out against the wall. “There he is.” Blackbeard was always there, right beneath the surface, a tiny nudge away, and if you go on that kind of murder spree from one cruel remark then, sorry, but those tendencies were never truly being dealt with in the first place. Blackbeard (and to an extent the Kraken) have always been here. They never left. They’re Ed. Izzy didn’t create them and as much as I love fluffy, wholesome, tooth-rottingly sweet BlackBonnet content in a fandom space, pretending that they’re canonically #PureBabies is a serious misreading of the text. To say nothing of a dismissal of one of OFMD’s biggest themes. Stede arrives wanting to change pirating’s “culture of abuse,” even while he romanticizes it.
Who do we think represents that culture and its romanticism best, if not the feared pirate legend Stede falls in love with?

Ghost x Male!Reader: A Helping Hand
Trigger Warnings: intoxication via alcohol, hiding feelings, this is mostly just fluff, ALSO SPOILERS FOR THE MW2 (2022) FINAL CUTSCENE I CANT BELIEVE I FORGOT THIS
Tumblr media
Simon Riley, a man as intimidating as he was mysterious. You’d never had the chance of seeing his face, even when you were working alongside Task Force 141 against AQ and Shadow Company upon Shepherd’s betrayal. However, being in a different place at a different time, you couldn’t even if you wanted once John and Kyle told you they had seen his face. You were jealous, obviously, as you found yourself to be forming some feelings you didn’t know were possible to have when it came to some stoic man who’s seen the worst the world could offer.
Aside from that, it was…rather interesting when you were working with him, especially when the three of you were separated after Graves hijacked Alejandro’s base. Having to communicate with Simon directly once you realized you were separated way further than you would’ve thought made it all the more nerve wracking. You could remember each way he spoke to you, telling a few terrible jokes to seemingly ease the pain you were obviously feeling after having got shot in the leg and rolling down the side of the hill Alejandro’s base was even on.
Walking down the streets, right next to him, on a completely fine and normal night made these feelings you had for him even worse. Despite the moon being high in the sky, the city was up and alive still. The happy and semi-drunken banter of random people made you relieved a bit, as you and Task Force 141 were all on your way towards a bar somewhere in Chicago. “(Y/N).” Simon spoke suddenly. You swiftly turned your head to look at him, eyes making contact with his own. “Sorry, were you and the others saying anything?” you ask. Simon shook his head, continuing to stare into your eyes, “Just wanted to know how that leg of yours is doing.” he said. “Oh, uh…it’s still kinda healing but I’ll be fine.” you say. “Good. I like you alive and well; you’re more useful like that.”
You swiftly turned away from him upon hearing that, figuring your conversation with him was over; and mostly because of what he said. “I like you alive and well; you’re more useful like that.” echoed in your mind, making your heart flutter like you had never expected it to. “You alright there?” Simon whispered into your ear. He was fully aware of how intimidated, to him it seemed at least, you were. The man was as mysterious as he was with cheeky, monotonous teasing. “Just fine, lieutenant.” you say firmly. “Easy there—don’t get so riled up, boy.” Simon teased further by speaking in a lower octave. That flustered you further and you just scoffed, continuing to look away.
Simon chuckled as you all entered. You all took your seats at the counter together, doing some light small talk as you ordered some drinks and spent your time there silently as you thought more and more of how quickly the feelings you had toward the brit grow. You simply kept your eyes down on your glass, only keeping yourself tuned into the conversation enough to understand what was being said. Kate was discussing with the Price about some digging done on AQ’s allie’s and such, but it wasn’t until you heard the passing around of some small print where you finally realized this was something you had to pay attention to fully.
It was then passed to you and you flipped it over, only to see it was a picture of someone you didn’t really know or understand their significance. You then put it back onto the counter of the bar before sliding it to Simon, whose pinky finger just barely brushed against your own and once again sent your heart into a frenzy. Quickly calming yourself down, you all turn to look at the captain to see what was to be said next. “Who is he?” Kate asked. Price stays silent for a bit before completely turning his body in his stool to look her right in the eyes, as serious as he could ever get when it came to things as this,
“Makarov.”
You could feel the once peaceful atmosphere drift away upon hearing this news. This was definitely something way before you came along, however now you felt you’d be playing a role in this. “You in?” Simon asked. Heart racing upon realizing all eyes were on you, a simple nod was the only response given. “We’ll talk more on this later. For now, just drink.” Kate said. With that you all raised your glasses in a silent cheer before continuing the night of drinking.
And that night of drinking probably wasn’t a good idea seeing as how you were barely able to stand, let alone walk properly. But here you were, putting one foot in front of the other drunkenly as you all walked back to the safehouse nearby to get some well deserved rest. The previous bustling crowd found itself to be even more full of life, so much so that you were practically almost knocked over each time you stepped forward. Suddenly, without thinking or realizing, your hand had gripped onto someone else’s in your drunken stupor as a way to try and hold yourself up. And to whom did this hand belong to?
None other than fucking Simon “Ghost” Riley.
Neither of you realized it, as you just figured Simon was next to you for some sort of protection due to your intoxicated state of mind. Once you all manage to finally separate from the busy streets and into a more quiet one, you continue your way home. “How much longer until we get back?” you whine drunkenly. “Just a bit further, keep walking…” John trails off, as he had turned around to look at you and saw your hand intertwined with Simon’s. “You two realize you’re holding hands?”
Your eyes widen and you look down and see exactly what was pointed out. Your heart started pounding in your chest once more, thundering in your ears. “So we are. What of it?” Simon asked. “Nothin’…nothin’ at all…” John said teasingly. He gave you a wink before turning around and continuing to walk. Simon stepped forward a bit, however you stayed in place just staring at the both of your hands together. “You alright?” Simon asked. Remaining silent, you just continue staring at your hands.
Simon sighed and tightened his grip on your hand before bringing you closer towards him, letting go of your hand before linking his arm with yours before grabbing your hand again. “Left foot forward,” he commands. Doing as you’re told, you move your left foot forward. “Now the right one.” he commands once again. Complying, you then turn your head up to look at him. His eyes aren’t dead as they normally were, but they held a gentle light within them. Smiling softly, you look away from him and continue walking.
Eventually, all of you reach the safehouse and Simon leads you to the room you were sleeping in. “Easy now, I’m going to lead you to your bed.” he whispered softly, carefully walking towards the bed that was in the room. “Will you stay..?” you whisper softly. “Why do you want me to?” Simon asks. “I want to talk about something…” you say. “If it’s about the feelings you have for me, I already know,” he says coldly. A pit forms in your stomach and you sigh, “And…you don’t reciprocate them do you…” you say softly. “I do. I just don’t really know how to show it, so if you’re willing to help me understand how to show love to you, then I will be happy to learn…” Simon whispered in a teasingly low voice. “The mask…”
Simon gives you a quizzical look, “Show my face?” he whispers, inching closer to your own as he sits you down on the bed. “Yeah…please…” you plead softly. He slowly pulls away from you and begins to teasingly take his mask off. And once he does, you’re taken by surprise at how attractive he really was. “That better, sweetheart?” he whispers, leaning close to your face again. “Much better…” you whisper back, leaning forward.
The two of you are so close that your liquor scented breath ghosts against each other’s lips. “You want a kiss?” Simon asked. You simply nod, and Simon smirks at this. “Come on, use your words.” he teases. “I want a kiss, Simon…” you whisper. “Atta boy…” he says. And before you know it, Simon’s lips are connected to yours in a passionate and gentle kiss. You’re more than happy to be kissing him, bringing your hands up to gently wind your fingers into his hair. Simon brings his hand up to your face, cupping it gently.
He eventually pulls away and despite your disappointment, he gives you a playful wink. “Not when you’re drunk. Now kick your shoes off and lay on the bed.” he commands. “Okay…” you say, taking your shoes off and laying down on the bed. Simon gets rid of his boots before laying next to you, pulling the covers over the both of you. He pulled you closer, much to your surprise. “Thought you needed help learning how to love me..?” you ask. “Oh, so I should let go of you?” Simon asked. “No, please don’t…” you say. “Then don’t joke like that. Sleep.” he says gruffly. “Fine…” you whisper. You lay there for a bit, smiling as you think about the sudden domesticity coming from Simon before eventually falling asleep.

Shots (the doctory ones)
Ok, wait, I want to clarify that when I say shots, I mean vaccines, not the alcoholic ones or gunshots.
Cool? Cool.
When Lance is forced to get a shot, he shrieks like a child, but he’s mostly being dramatic.
After the ordeal, he’ll go home and be all whiny and use his ‘poor, abused, punctured arms’ as an excuse to make Keith do everything for him.
And Keith would roll his eyes and make a snarky comment, but clearly he’s genuinely worried and would spend the whole week (yes, week) suffocating Lance with care like the closeted mother hen that he is.
Keith, on the other hand, would try to keep a straight face. But he seriously can’t handle it.
Due to his killer immune system, he rarely had to go to the hospital. Also, he usually just toughed it out or fixed it himself when he got injured as a child.
So he’s already on edge thanks to this unfamiliar place full of grumpy adults and children who seem to be leaking mucus from absolutely all places, and now he’s being dragged into a small room by Lance and that lady is smiling at him so bright that he’s 58% sure that she’s a serial killer.
She has the nerve to ask him how his day is going.
So far he has been forced to this horrid place by his traitorous boyfriend (Husband? Are they married yet? Who knows.), been given a headache from the piercing wails of infants, made conversation with a dead looking receptionist with a scar splitting her right nostril (How does that happen?), and called into yet another strange hallway by a random who knows his name (what? Why? Did Lance give away Keith’s identity? Because partners or not, Lance has NOT helped Keith escape this situation yet and he feels utterly betrayed. He expects to be paid in full with cuddles and movie marathons after this is over).
Yeah, Keith’s day has been great, thanks. He decides to ignore Lance frantically shaking his head at the nurse.
Anyway, he makes it through the checkup with only a couple comments about his scars, and he breathes out at last, knowing he’s finally safe.
Lance clears his throat awkwardly.
“Uh.. it’s great to see you relaxed, but you don’t think we’re done yet, do you?”
What.
Screaming seems like an good option right now. Why hadn’t he been listening to the gibberish coming out of the doctor’s mouth? Why was this so much easier last time, when Lance was the one getting a check up?
He can feel Lance’s burning gaze watching him think, but there is a sharp knock on the door an it swings open slowly. The man who walks in is pushing a cart.
On the cart is a tray.
A tray of needles.
Before this point, Keith has been sitting in one of the 2 chairs in the corner of the room. As soon as his eyes land on those evil stabbies, he hops up and settles quickly in Lance’s lap, hiding his face in his boyfriend’s tan neck to block the rest of the room from his vision.
He can feel Lance running his fingers soothingly through Keith’s hair. He grips on tighter just to make sure it won’t stop.
Honestly, Keith can’t decide what’s wrong with himself. He can take a gunshot and keep fighting, be interrogated fiercely by aliens, hunt dangerous species from foreign universes, and yet he can’t look at some needles.
Lance chuckles softly.
“Hey. You have to sit up, you can stay on my lap and close your eyes, but it’s only gonna hurt more if you stay all tense like that.”
Keith raises his head just a bit to stare at Lance with wide, teary eyes. He nods shallowly and flips around so that his back is pressed to Lance’s chest.
Long story short, Lance ends up having to pin Keith’s arms still and hug his chest tightly until all 4 shots have been injected.
Keith only manages to ignore him for about 2 minutes before running over for hugs. He can be petty later, right now he’s been through a traumatic experience and need comfort in the form of Lance the doting boyfriend.
(Does Lance feeding him their stash of Valentine’s chocolates while they watch ‘Legally Blond’ and all three ‘How to Train Your Dragon’s make this all worth it? No.)
(Yes.)
—————————-
This was supposed to be 4 paragraphs long…
Have fun trying to find a plot in this mess : )
I just got 2 shots and a finger prick yesterday, so yes I am projecting. I’m really bad around needles, I can’t even look at cartoon-style pictures for longer than a couple seconds. I almost passed out, but what’s new?

TK Strand is Autistic. (I have evidence I just thought I would start with that. Straight to the point you know)
I would also like to say this is written by an autistic person who has done hours of research in autism. So I kind of know what I’m talking about I think.
Special Interest (there isn’t a lot for this one but there is some soo)
So the first example is from season 2 episode 2. Mateo is talking about his new tattoo and mentions TK’s tattoo. He says “You’re the one with the beetle in your arm.” to TK. TK responds with, “It’s not a beetle it’s a honey bee.” And then without and prompting says l, “Did you know honey bees pollinate a third of our food supply?” I know that by itself it’s not exactly great evidence. Combined with everything else I will speak about it fits. Like the only prompting he had for this random bee fact was Mateo bringing up the tattoo.
Monotone Voice/Flat Face
Every single episode. It’s especially noticeable when he’s working. He has very little facial expression and his voice stays flat. I was going to try and find a scene that I could link here but it’s really difficult to find a scene that’s not just him and Carlos or him just passed out, and I feel like using a clip of him being passed out wouldn’t really prove my point, but if you compare his facial expressions and voice to there during very intense events you’ll notice it. Such as Season 3 Episode 11. The whole capital building is shut down and everyone on the team has at least a little bit of worry on their faces, but TK looks so unbothered. Like this is completely normal. He is obviously worried but it doesn’t really show. The only time he really has expression is around Carlos. I know there are definitely some other exceptions, but a majority of the time this applies.
Stimming (There is so much evidence for this)
TK stims in literally every episode. I’m not going to put every example because that would take literally hours and although I do have time for that I don’t want to. So we’ll start with season 1 episode 4 when TK goes to chemo with his dad. Now this one could just be him being anxious but I have more I swear. Just watch the first 12 seconds of the clip. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uHp4ME6v7MA. Okay another example or I could say examples is him just messing with his hands. At all times. He never stops. If you watch him during the show you’ll notice this. I would put examples but once again way too many. The next one that comes to mind is TK during season 3 episode 19 when they hold the intervention for Nancy and Mateo towards the end of the episode. If you watch him throughout the entire scene you’ll see it but the part I’m talks about is between 46 seconds and 48 seconds of the clip I’m about to give the link to. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_7rtPmn99i8. The last one I’m going to mention despite there being so much more is TK during season 4 episode 8. Once again if you watch you’ll see him stimming throughout it, but the particular scene I’m talking about is when he fires his dad. The more he gets upset the more you see it. It is literally just this whole scene. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ILcATWsXrsM
Being Upset By Change
I only have two examples of this but I think they fit pretty well. The first one also comes from season 3 episode 17. He is having the conversation about catan with Nancy, and seems very hesitant about changing from catan. To be fair they all were but he could t even begin to understand why she would want to change it. It all starts when Nancy says, “We’re both over Catan.” TK at this point gets really confused because who wouldn’t want to play the same game every time they have a game night because he certainly would. He responds with “Over Catan? But that’s like our national pastime Nance.” Later in this conversation Nancy says, “I think it’d be good for all of us to change things up. Spice of life.” The way TK responds once again shows how uncomfortable he is with the change. Replying with “Catan is spicy” after she left. The second example is from season 2 episode 6 when TK finds out he’s going to have a little brother. This might just be me but it seems a little out of character for TK to be jealous of having a sibling. It might be a bit if a stretch but if I’m right it could easily be attributed to that.
Sensory Issues
Okay so I can only think of a couple examples of this but will start with this one . The never ending collection of hoodies. He obviously is very attached to his hoodies. To the point where in his coma dream his mom (his subconscious) says “so many innocent hoodies lost their lives that day.” We also often see him wearing his hoodies after a particularly stressful day, but he wears them all the time. Like he has an endless supply. Where does he store all of them? The second example I have is a little better. It’s from season 3 episode 3. At the beginning of the coma dream TK is hearing a beeping noise and he doesn’t exactly know what it is but he has a very strong reaction to the noise. The specific part I’m talking about is at 1:20 seconds of the video that I’m going to put a link to. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B7uSxmVt6XE
Bad at Telling Hunger
Another very common autistic trait is not being able to tell when they are hungry, thirsty, etc. I can only find two examples of TK with showing this trait and that is in season 3 episode 13. TK says “I think I’m going to skip dinner tonight. I’m not really hungry.” Carlos responds with, “You always say that and end up eating at 2 am.” Based off of Carlos comment this has happened multiple times. Another example is in this same episode more towards the beginning. Carlos asks TK if he wants to change before they ate and TK responds with the fact that he already ate, leading Carlos to say he can’t survive on donuts alone. In this case TK had actually already eaten. But it is also implied that this has also happened before.
Bad At Metaphors/Subtext
I can think of at least 2 examples for this one. The they are both in season 3 episode 17. The first one is once again related to catan. When Nancy says that her and Mateo are both over it. It’s pretty obvious that she is speaking of something other than Catan. I know he didn’t know they were together but she was implying something with the way she said it. TK wasn’t picking up on that at all. He was just confused as to why she wouldn’t want to play Catan. The second example is later in the episode when Nancy and Mateo say they are going to get coffee. Everyone in the room is confused but you can tell they are talking about something else and are going to let them leave. TK on the other hand says they have coffee there. Not even thinking about the fact that they might be talking about something else.
Literally His whole conversation with Iris
Honestly I have no way to describe this but TKs who conversation with Iris in season 4 episode 2. When he goes to talk to her at her job. The whole thing is just I don’t know how to describe it. I can’t find a clip but the conversation is just two neurodivergents talking to each other except both of them are confused.
Going Non verbal
I have no actual confirmation that he goes non verbal but I do have a couple of examples that could be taken that way. The first on being how his mom says he shuts down. When the paramedic team gets kidnapped Carlos goes to Gwen and Owen’s house looking for him and she says something along the lines of “I knew we should watch him when he shuts down like this” Tk is usually pretty talkative but during a particularly stressful situation he is weirdly quiet. Such as in season 4 episode 9 when marjan is missing. Everyone else is asking questions and expressing their worries and he is just sitting there completely quiet. This happens multiple time throughout the series and I don’t feel like showing them all so you’ll just have to watch to figure it out, but trust me it happens.
I could probably have found more examples but I think this is more than enough information to prove my point. Anyway…

Manifestation - Everyone Is You Pushed Out (EIYPO) - The World Is Your Mirror
Hello everyone! This is another short post to cover a simple topic under the umbrella term manifestation to hopefully shed some light on the topic.
So if you are new to this concept, EIYPO, let me try to explain it to you. The world, the 3d world that you see and perceive is a reflection of your inner being, your thoughts, feelings and assumptions. Whatever you believe to be true and real, gets reflected back to you in your day to day life and interactions with other people.
If someone is acting a certain way toward you, it is easy to see that as evidence as that is how that person feels about you. Say for example a person is rude to you. You probably make the assumption that that person does not like you, which, to be fair, is quite understandable. Because you hold the belief that a person would only be rude to you if they dislike you, then that means that person must not like you.
Could we change that? Well, yes we can! All we have to do is change our assumption of the way this person treats you, and the way they feel about you.
So we will accept that this person is still capable of liking us or loving us, and now, we will choose to start seeing them in a more loving light. In your imagination, you want to see that person treating you well. You can use visualisations, scripting or my favourite: affirmations. Persist in this new assumption “person x is always treating me right” and it will come to pass. Not only are you always treated like royalty (for example) but it is also important to stop seeing that other person as someone who is ‘rude’ for example. That’s the old story, and we won’t be telling it anymore. The person on our mind is now always nice (at least to us) and always treating us right.
So I have several examples of how this has worked in my own life using affirmations. Now I have a list of affirmations that I have recorded which are tailored towards my specific person (SP), but because EVERYONE is you pushed out, I have seen my affirmations reflected back to me from other men as well.
Here’s a few examples including the affirmation:  1. “Our sex is the best that he has ever had” - A guy I slept with twice last year suddenly re-appeared and after texting for a bit, he told me I was the best sex he has ever had. Well, of course, I affirmed to be the best. Now of course I affirmed for my SP to think this, but, if random guy said it, then you best believe SP feels the same!
2. “He is the happiest when he is with me” - Surprisingly enough, same random guy from example 1 told me this exact thing just a couple of weeks ago, that he’s the happiest when he’s with me. Naw, sweet, but also, not my SP! (Don’t let stuff like that concern you though, this is what they call Birds Before Land, a post I will need to make at some point)
3. “I am the best” - When talking to my SP I asked him why he came back after we (he) ended things, his response? “Because you’re the best”
4. “I am amazing” - During the same conversation as example 3, my SP said to me “I wish you knew how amazing you are”, and I kid you not, this was the first time my SP had ever called me amazing (he’s not big on compliments)
5. “SP always pays for my drinks” - I know this one might seem shallow (and cheap of me!) but hey, SP makes big bucks and I deserve to be treated when we’re out, so why not? And yeah, a few weeks of affirming this and my SP now always pays for the drinks when we are out.
The list goes on but I hope I have demonstrated my point. Change your assumptions about your reality, how people see you, how people treat you, persist, and they will change. They have to, it’s the law.
I hope that this post was helpful. I’d love to hear any examples you guys might have on this topic, also open for questions or requests for a post!
