What made you ship it? - They both have very strong chemistry between each other - both Sam and Raiden. I just looked at a few pictures and memes on google, and they made me realize that Sam and Raiden definitely should be together. It also became my comfort pairing, so I could distance myself from my own toxic relationship (fortunately, it is over now). Who would have known that in the end, SamuRaiden and mgr fandom changed my life for good? After so many years of feeling pathetic, feeling that I was not worthy to exist, these two blorbos brought me back to life. I have people to share my thoughts and love about Sam and Raiden, I received so much feedback I never had before. Moreover, I met my bf thanks to this fandom and the pairing, it is more than anything I ever wanted. This means the world to me. Thinking about them being together, loving each other helps me to get distracted from my own self-deprecation.

What are your favorite things about the ship? - Their dynamic, the possibilities of various romance scenarios or even mgr2 plot. Sam and Raiden are so different yet have so much in common, including being rivals who try to fight for different ideals. Sam's charisma is very strong, yet I feel that he has a very deep trauma behind it. It is more of my hcs, and I can relate to him in my own way, considering how I love his theme song that basically opens him up as a character who chose the wrong side. And I see him as a protagonist, more than Raiden, about whom, btw I had a very erroneous view. Fortunately, after playing MGR and MGS2 I know him better. He is a broken man, who may never recover from everything he has been through. If his ambitions require destroying the world - he may go for it, that is why I feel that Sam may be the only one who could stop it. Raiden is an anti-hero, who is not easy to "tame" if I may say so. Yet, I feel that Sam could handle that because he has been through that himself (I presume). This ship may be toxic from different perspectives, but I want it to be healthy and so that characters could heal by complementing each other and teaming up to achieve common goals.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I don't really know what are the popular opinions about these two. My take is that I probably want to partially avoid Raiden's "unhealthy and toxic" side that would ruin everything because of him acting like an asshole (not the Ripper, rather just the situations when he acts like this) because it feels threatening to me personally. I want him to work through it and be better than this and reach to Sam as much as he reaches to him. So that he would feel more "human" than an augmented cyborg. In my fanfic I question a lot of what is it like to be a human and feel such simple things as love or sympathy (which Raiden never had). I want Raiden to experience it, to endure it as much as Sam. I also want to see his more soft and vulnerable side, when he lets Sam care about him. And the most important, to put the whole relationship in a more realistic perspective, where it is not perfect, where they both have their fears and problems, but they find the strength to carry on together.

Raiden is strong, but inside he is a scared and broken child. He does not know any other ways to protect himself, he is impulsive, filled with anger and hatred towards everyone and everything. He needs psychological help and guidance.

To sum up: SamuRaiden is a ship that changed my life. I love it with my whole heart and I want to think that the love between these two helped them to overcome their demons and have a healthy and more or less happy life. Like what happened to me.

AlexDes (Alex Mercer x Desmond Miles) - Assassin's Creed x Prototype Crossover

What made you ship it? - It was long time ago. I saw some pictures with both of them and it made me melt. I could never imagine that it is possible to make a crossover with hooded guys :D They also made me play Assassin's Creed series and Prototype. Desmond had to become an assassin against his will. He is sick and tired of running away and he just wants to live a normal life. As for Alex..Well..Alex is not a human, he is a virus that took a form of a deceased scientist (as well as his memories). I thought it would be interesting to see how Desmond actually helps him to start everything over and gain more "human" side (again about this, I think I am into this topic too much). Alex is rude, cold and lacks empathy. He wants to know who he really is. His mystery would attract Desmond. They would have to escape their enemies together. That is what it makes this pairing unique to me.

What are your favorite things about this ship? - Alex getting them both into trouble and Desmond getting them out of it. Both of them looking for their purpose, questioning if they should save the world (AC3 ending) or leave it to die (I am not taking Prototype 2 into account because Alex is a complete antagonist in that game). Alex is entertained by Des, he tries to understand him. Also...He has some tendrils that could be used for different purposes... After overcoming some very hard obstacles, their bond just gets stronger and they fall for each other.

Unpopular opinion about this ship

When I was really hard into this ship, there was a part of the fandom who considered it is cool to put Desmond into horrible situations of being assaulted or "consumed" by Alex (I realize this only after all these years and I don't approve that part, fortunately, I haven't met anything connected with it lately). I hate that people try to portray Alex as a predator, and I would prefer not to see it anymore. Also, I don't see him as a bottom (another unpopular opinion).

In conclusion: ProtoCreed has a special place in my heart because it was one of the first fandom ships I got into and produced the content very actively before the end of 2012. I still have some feelings for them, yet I wanna put this ship into more "mature" perspective and make more interesting and realistic scenarios of their relationship development. Many things changed from that old times and I don't really wanna come back there.

"Amino sucks." Ouh~ I do love a good rant, so I shall add to the pool of Amino rants here on Tumblr. Now, say it with your whole chest, if you're going to make a statement, say it correctly.

No, Amino App is absolute trash.

Synopsis: Tumblr and Ao3 are superior options for your niché interests. Don't bother using Amino Apps if you value creative freedom, dislike censorship, or glitchy apps that eat up your battery life.

I originally joined in 2018-2019 and to my understanding, it was a place to express your love for a specific topic. In my case, I loved One Piece and Naruto. People could post their art, fanfics, and role play with their OCs. But whatever creative liberties Amino veterans had pre-2020 are long gone.

The communities go from one extreme to the next, within the same community might I add. Ex. There are Amino communities that talk about serial killers/murder but within the same breath you get the 20 y/o adult toddlers crying about the word "thot" being too obscene! 😱 And you can bet your ass, there are glitches, bugs, and porn bots. Overall, idiocracy on Amino is equivalent to Twitter/X but not as graphic as 2chan, the defunct Japanese worser version of 4chan. Some examples of the shit that goes on in Amino include but are not limited to:

A classical painting of Lucifer being reported as pornographic, subsequently silencing/banning the post author (not my story)

Drawing of t-shirts with the words "f*ck" or "tits" on characters, fully clothed btw, and no ahegao in sight being silenced/hidden (my story)

But community staff is A-OK with featuring, for ALL to SEE, women in thin bikinis who are one sneeze away from having their tits pop out

Grooming. Adults grooming children in DMs

Porn bots, although I've seen this as less of a problem if staff is sensible enough to lock/close the community

Community staff being wholy hypocritical. I say the word "thot" in a public chat and get some curator complaining, "That's a no-no word. 🥺We have to protect the children." But I come back to the SAME public chat, and for about an hour and a half, they were talking about laundering money, murder, and department store theft. With not a single staff member in sight. Royally, Fuck Off. (Def my story)

Team Amino won't do a single fucking thing when you file a report to them for anything; for inactive Agent leaders, staff's abuse of power, reporting groomers, etc.

TA's reporting bots are 100% stupid. My Zoro drawing got hidden because it was considered "pornographic." He was in his Santō Ryu pose with his swords while wearing the equivalent of swim shorts and a bandana. Like, "BITCH. This basically his normal attire." (Def my story)

Hotel Hazbin has a minimum age requirement of 16. It's for a mature audience, yeah? The first PSA I see when I get into the Amino is "No 18+ content allowed. To protect the ✨️children✨️😇." MAYBE DON'T ALLOW CHILDREN BELOW THE AGE OF 16 ONTO AN AMINO WITH MATURE SUBJECTS such as prostitution, drug abuse, murder, and alcoholism.¹

I'm only on Amino now to support a friend because he still posts there, but even he's been holding back on drawing his OCs in cool outfits and getting fed up with TA's bullshit and community staffs' hypocrisy. MediaLab, the company that bought Amino App from its original creators, is basically making Amino into a toddlers' app, but not actively doing anything to manage it or make it better.

Voice Chats: degenerate, depraved, toxic. Never experienced it myself, but glad I didn't based on the shit I've heard from others.

Aside from the thirteen to twenty three year olds, there are also the grown 30+ year old "adults" throwing tantrums. I saw one woman complain/rant about how horrible men are and how she was getting a divorce to a chat filled with SIXTEEN (16) year olds. It was just wholy unnecessary to trauma dump on these guys. They're here to roleplay and talk about anime. 💀

¹ Staff can ASK people to add their age/birthday in their "Request to join" message, and if the little shits are lying, that's their fault for causing drama or getting offended in a 16+ Amino. Just ban them and their alt accounts. I left as soon as I read that PSA, I'm not dealing with MORE hypocrisy.

To be clear, I'm not asking for "2 girls, 1 cup" videos (an old porno with scat & golden showers), but at least a sensible audience that can handle mature topics. More than "He died of drug overdose 👍" but less than a detailed description of genitals being mutilated by barbed wire, which is actually referenced in epi.1 of HH.

Profanity and cursing are a part of my issue with Amino communities, but slang doesn't necessarily make people equivalent to adults.

Lucas is Mike's therapist. Max is his best friend. Dustin looks up to him. Will can't live without him. El wants him and him only. There's 1k+ notes posts about how he needs to be smug again and return to his "Physics. Bitch!" era or whatever. When the same season had Dustin and Erica doing the most work and Suzie later on clinching it for the team and Lucas literally coming up with the idea to distract the mind flayer TWICE.

S4 Argyle (and Suzie) does everything and people still yapping on about the pen and him thinking about Suzie (more in the genre of him thinking of using El to save Will in S1 or whatever.) Karen's son is a manager. Let's face it. Is he brave? Yes. Is he EVERYTHING? Not on netflix.com.

Conformism is the Wheeler arc but per usual Mike still hasn't learned his lesson. Lucas meanwhile got an extra credit and a busted face for no reason. Erica (an 11 year old) was literally jumped on by an 18 y.o. and that's somehow not worthy of discussion. "They're accidentally racist" but they're great o/w was an actual take of actual persons. Which fair enough, but I disagree.

Kali is evil for doing everything for an entitled little fuck who went to her btw and apparently "stole her choice" or some adjacent crap (when canonically the reverse happened, but we watch the show upside down for our jack jack of a protagonist.)

Trauma exists for a few characters and is brought up on convenience in fandom and almost never on the show.

Mike is depressed (in S2 end of), suicidal (never), neglected (nope), was subjected to homophobic bullying (fanfic), wrote letters and called incessantly and so Will's a cunt (not enough I say), all fiction for fiction.

Lucas and Dustin sexuality is actually to underline Mike's homosexuality. (Genre: No) Idek why Lucas exists atp. Only for Mad and Wheeler. And maybe El now in S5. 🤷‍♀️

The less we speak about Patrick the better aligned to canon, cuz he got nothing. Thank you for your service. You'll be forgotten immediately.

The fandom will rise up and be cunty when someone criticises Duffers for an OBJECTIVELY boring, regurgitated, non-side plot but will stay silent about valid criticisms regarding the writing in regards to race and female characters on ST. Take offence for some, not get off the fence for others. 🤷‍♀️

What can I say? The show is reaching it's target audience.

Ay, I absolutely ain't got no problems talking about Ricky so thank you for the invitation 🥰!

Roller Ricky is a side character from the game Killer Frequency. He's a sweet and fun loving guy who runs a roller rink in the fictional small town of Gallows Creek(hence the nickname). He's very chill, down to Earth, and friendly. He also has an emotional support dog named Max who he absolutely loves (which it's sooo fucking cute how much he loves him oh my God).

Despite being certified sweet boi in my books (calls him "certified sweet boi" even tho he's literally a grown ass man in his late 30s lol), he has no problems with scaring off someone with his rifle if they threaten him or those he loves (this is literally canon, and I love that it's canon).

Annnnnnd what's a certified sweet boi without a traumatic backstory. Without spoiling the game too much, Ricky went through this fucked up prank in high school where he literally thought his friends were fucking murdered and one of them actually fucking dying (I'm not kidding you, shit's fucked up). Turns out it was a stupid hazing ritual that his football team was doing to the new players, and he didn't know that because he can't keep secrets well and would've spoiled it. Yeah that's not a good fucking excuse because he developed really bad survivor's guilt that caused him to become an alcoholic to deal with the trauma (and my poor bby I wanna wrap him up in a blanket now 😭).

Fortunately, he found a support group and got actual therapy for his trauma. Now he encourages others to push through tough times.

Yeah I love this man soooo much it's not even funny lol.

What's sad tho is Killer Frequency is kinda niche(?) I think, so there isn't too much content out there for him, despite being relatively well liked by fans. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who has written any x reader things for him. That's so me tho, I've always fallen in love with characters that are unknown or unpopular, it's my curse. Anyways, my first ever full length fanfic I wrote, Heart Shaped Roller Rink (been thinking about making that our ship name, I think it's cute) was a Roller Ricky x reader fic. I've thought about revamping it too with it being my first fanfic; just kinda clean up the wacky formatting and fix the grammatical errors (I feel like with him being my f/o now, it's what he deserves lol). Then I literally wrote some headcanons for him the day after I posted that fic. Finally, not too long after that, I wrote another fic with him where the reader was pregnant because I feel it in my bones that he'd be such a sweet dad.

Also, like a fool I said that that was going to be the last I would write for him. God, what a funny joke because I have another idea for a fic (now if only I had the time and motivation). I didn't really plan on having him as my f/o, but after realizing I had written three things for him back to back to back, I was like "yeah, this is more than loving a character a normal amount." Soooo yeah, that's how he became my f/o. Don't get me wrong, I've always loved x reader fics and shit(still do btw), but I've never felt this strongly for a character before.

Now, I am happy to be a part of the wonderful world of self shipping with him ❤️

His suspicions aren’t unfounded, but the way he proves himself to be correct probably isn’t the best.

i'll start with eden !!! he's my token white haired guy (altho i have also a white haired girl in the same group of oc lol) to whom i do many terrible things. ever since i created him he's had a scenario where his neck got hurt (electric shock to his neck, knife injury, beheading to simply head explosiong lmao). he's an angel in the angel/demon scenario and the village's doctor in the farm au :3 he's always some sort of healer ! (he's that one "im a healer but... *cocks gun*" meme)

in the angel au he has extraordinary healing powers that antagonists want for themselves until they realise eden is not gonna give under the pressure and side with them so they behead him/make his head explode. not quite sure whcih one yet <3. except he doesn't die bc his power is more. body manipulation than healing and it acts by itself and stitch him back together . its a very traumatizing process but in return he destroys the other guys : D he's often nell's best friend in aus... moody guys who become menaces together. he was supposed to end up w jasper when i very first made him but eh !!!

THE NARUTO AU

okay so . disclaimer most of what i know of naruto is memories from what i watched when i was a young teen and a lot of sakura centered fanfics ive read the past few months lol

the story focus on on genin team but for the sake of the story ill jst go and talk abt the others too :

a) main genin team is nell, vik, lena and their teacher abel

b) second genin team is belly, jasper and eden with their teacher noah

c) cody is basically tsunade, titania is a civilian from a noble family who has a whole side story with lena lol

nell and belly (twins) are illegitimate kids from a clan's girl, who possess the clan's kekkei genkai. no i dont know what it is yet it's not even relevant to the story SEFJSEFOSFJOE

once their mother die they're put under the care of their mother's clan, where they're not rly treated well,,,, belly is a natural as using the clan's technic while nell isn't,,, they stick together but they're treated different and it sucks. tbh nell and belly's ways of dealing with family trauma is a recurring theme in all of the universes they're part of...

nell's fighting style focus on ice jutsu mostly, he's not a powerhouse but he's deadly. belly is more of a brawler type but i havent figured it out much yet :]

vik is an orphan who was groomed into roots (in universe it's a secret unit of ninjas like anbu but it's controlled by danzou who's a fucker and stole kekkei genkai including sharingans by STEALING DEAD PEOPLE'S EYES), who want's belly & nell's clan's kekkei genkai, and who's sent to pass as a new genin in nell's team to gain his trust and kill him and take his eyes,,, theres prob something going on to take belly's also but i havent gotten that far lol

lena (my BABYGIRL) is a civilian, born from a big player merchant family, who's supposed to inherit her parent's role but does Not want to :] she's lovely she's great she has a lot of chakra that she uses for summons (tigers!!!) and also she IS a powerhouse (uses . axes). not the most usefull of spy missions lol i love her <3

abel, in most of my stories, is a big brother figure to most of the kids especially nell,,,, i have not figured out yet what exaclty he does in this au BUT he and cody are old buddies and are destined to be together in all of my aus. anyway

quick other stuff, belly is very angry in hte beginning like her brother and does not know how to work with a team, jasper is kind and gentle and has to learn how to deal with her, also later masters mokuton (tree/plants jutsu) (which makes him very precious and rare), eden is once again a healer in this except he also works with poisons. bitch

and their teacher, noah, also works in torture and interrogation which will come up later.

basically the story follows nell's team as they meet and start working with each other, vik realising that maybe he's doing something that he shouldn't, almost kills nell once when infiltrating his living place but manages to get out when he hears belly coming in, discovers the power of friendship, then they're sent in the death forest for their chunin exam, antagonist guy sends more roots agents bc vik can't do the job, vik protects nell and lena, spills as much of the beans as he can before the seal in his throat starts to paralyze him, nell holds on to him for dear life and fights the other roots, lena gets one of her summoned tiger to go find eden and his team who save the day & also vik...

once vik is saved he cooperated with t&i and noah, who works on the case, adopts him,,, all is well. its not much . i feel like i had more thoughts lmao but its all messy in my head <3 thank u for reading

fair warning, i haven't been reading a lot in this fandom recently so these are mostly older fics, also i'm a snob bc i only read on ao3 and also i'm an even bigger snob bc i only read fics about my favorite characters (it's basically all kyoya lmao)

I'll never know by @earthaquila is a short but very interesting 'what if' about kyoya recognizing the dark power in tsubasa during their fight for japan's world champion team.

you were my daydream, but now you're my nightmare by @mxducktective is such a sweet kyoben fic, playing around with anime and manga canon as reality and nightmare and did i mention already how sweet they are in this?

Seize by SpringZephyr was probably one of the first fics i've read for mfb on ao3. it's so funny and idc that everyone is kinda ooc, kyoya as several guys' first gay experience is somehow hilarious to me, don't judge me.

Kyoya and Affection by @andro-dino is actually the cutest and i really love the polycule of kyoya/hyoma/tsubasa PLUS nile which just makes it better. yes, give him allllll the boyfriends.

everyone look at this discontinued time travel au that started amazing and then left me hanging bc i need you all to suffer with me: and we keep living anyway by Euphoriette. shut up yes i'm still obsessed w a fic that has one chapter and hasn't been updated in two years.

tbh at this point i'm already reaching the end of my fave fics that i've read but this ask sent me on a spiral all of yesterday and i actually binged a bunch of your fics for the first time deity?? mann i am late to the party as usual but here are some that actually blew me away

Darkness in Triplicate is so just wow incredible, i fell absolutely in love with this fic. i've always loved this trio and felt like you could do a lot with them in fan content bc yes they totally trauma bonded over the dark power possessing them and yes they have never had a decent conversation with each other. the possiblities!!!!!!!!

finally Ursa Minor is a fic i adore bc,,, what if they were actually friends? and what if they spend some casual down time together? and what if they watched bad movies and painted each others' fingernails? i'll tell you what. fuzz and feels and every good warm thing. that's what.

Despite not being much of a reader, I wanted to make a fic rec list of my personal favorites - because some fics just can’t be captured in my bookmarks well enough. Also, I was feeling very cheesy. Layered with richly written characters, a lot of emotions (that are very, very soul-searching), multiple points of view, mystery and tension, vivid scenes, beautiful motifs, everything on top of a compelling storyline, When The Sunlight Dies marks the beginning of the scarecrow universe. The universe is like a reimagined Dream SMP, filled with various Minecraft and Dream SMP lore-related references and characters.

This fic takes both imagination and soul and incorporates them into each line. I don’t think I can say this eloquently nor casually enough: this fic is beyond phenomenal. Each chapter draws 3-5 (not to exact number, but about there) scenes into one beautifully continuous story, and even now I could go on forever about each part of the story. The angst, the fluff, the description, all press ready and gorgeously done.

A special thing to note about this fic is that it is intensely emotional - I don’t think I’ve met a single person who’s read this fic and not cried - so be ready for that a few chapters in (for example, don’t read it in front of your parents like I did once 💀). And by all means, if the tagging is too intense for you, don’t read, as all the tags will probably hit very well. But if you do embark on this incredible journey of a fic, grab those tissues and your favorite plushie - you’re gonna need 'em.

I would recommend reading this with rain in the background or soft music from a classical music playlist. But even without music, this fic is unbelievably amazing <3

This fic is near and dear to my heart. Diamond Veins is one of my only exceptions to pure angst - yes, it’s all angst. Still, the angst is incredibly well done, one with the author’s style of voice that consists of raw but very well-structured prose. This type of prose feels like you’re casually walking side-by-side with the character, imbibing in every action and thought and emotion they experience for 7 progressing scenes, and it’s honestly cathartic to read.

This is one of the very first fics I ever read since joining the Dream SMP fandom. Not sure how I stumbled upon it, but when I did, oh, let me tell you what happened. This fic holds the record for the most gasps I made in the span of half an hour. Also, I have not failed to cry every time I read this story. Even after the first read, it is a beautifully written piece worth reading again and again.

Since it is a fairly short oneshot, I feel like this fic would be perfect to read aloud to someone to get their reaction, or your own, if it’s the first time. I also think that this fic is good to introduce someone to the fandom who likes angst and the Dream team side of MCYT. Also, have tissues ready for this one <3

I would not recommend music for this fic; I think that it’s short enough and sure to have you rapt to the point of not needing any background noise.

Jackpot by ceruleon

If you want to positively drown in lovely and colorful prose, this fic is perfect for you. Filled with nothing but amazing senses and color, Jackpot is a gorgeous angst and fluff fic based around lore with amazing balance and dialogue. The author clearly has a vision for each of Karlnapity’s characters, and the image that is displayed for each of them is confidently and wonderfully written.

Looking back at Jackpot and the High Stakes series it’s subsumed in, I realize that not one but two of my fics are heavily inspired by this series! The execution of emotion and description and story are all so lucidly written in this fic. My heart was also stolen by Karl in this one; he is very, very dear to me (on that note, I love how this author writes Karl period, so I encourage you to check out all their fics with Karl in it :3).

I read a lot of these fics on the list without music, but I feel like a little bit of soft, romantic music for this romantic fic could go a long way. Still, even without anything in the background, this fic paints so many enchanting pictures that you don’t need anything extra while reading.

I doubt that this one’s a tear-jerker, but you never know. It is pretty painfully sweet, though, and if that makes you emotional, then I think some tissues would be necessary, haha.

Iridescent Eyes by TwoozyZinc

Word Count: 4,451

In this humorously but beautifully written piece, we see through the eyes of Flint/Connor as Jack and Mason fall in love with a colorful stranger. The entirety of Iridescent Eyes hinges on an interrogation scene which quickly turns into flirting, and watching the pining happen from an outsider’s perspective is adorable, as well as done marvelously here.

I absolutely love the image of this dark cave with intimidating bandits talking to a bright, neon stranger. This fic paints that scene very well with lovely prose and also casual prose since it’s in Flint’s perspective. The combination of the two wordings makes this a solid read.

Be warned that the ending has quite an angsty conclusion, but I’ll be honest that it’s easily overlooked because of the fluff surrounding it, as well as a dear and hopeful ending. I didn’t cry during this fic, but given that it’s a Tales fic, I doubt that I could read this with a straight face anymore.

Iridescent Eyes is both heartwarmingly and heart-clenchingly good, and I think that it’s the perfect fic for when you’re craving Karlnapity and The Wild West story again. I’m not sure if music is necessary. It was fun enough to hear the characters’ voices in my head while I was reading xD.

This fic encapsulates everything my heart loves. It’s short and sweet with an air of levity in every word of dialogue but also utter depth that I adore. I love the headcanons slipped in and all the detail to the mannerisms. This author’s dialogue is a little humorous and a lot charming, and the scenario is so deeply amber with a lot of shading, for lack of better words other than colors. This fic simply feels like lovely, raw emotion, both in writing and in the scenario.

This fic is perfect for those wanting a soft moment that isn’t immensely emotional and yet is emotional all the while. Now, this is also kinda a niche thing, but my imagination is pretty selective when it comes to what I see in my mind, but this fic is unfailingly vivid to me in all its wording.

This is a cute and, again, short read, so no backing sound is necessary. I think a romantic song could be amplifying to this fic’s effect, though.

If you’re feeling a little emotional and need something comforting, I think that close watch on this heart of mine is a perfect little read.

With gorgeously shifting emotions and beautifully described inner and outer turmoil alike, I Hope That You Burn captures a richly tender moment in reimagined canon wherein Karlnapity meet again in Kinoko, packed with heart-clenching, lovable emotion in every word. The scenario and cuddling afterward are to die for, and each moment in this fic hits strongly in different and powerful ways.

This fic is the perfect sort of story for when you’re feeling numb - as I was when I first read it and nearly cried. Seriously, out of everything that I was thinking, when I stumbled upon this fic, I dropped everything and was rapt. To this day, I remember that moment clearly.

I’m not sure what to say about background noise, but I think that this fic is written so well that you don’t even need anything. Whatever you do, though, I think that this story holds a fair chance to make you emotional, so be ready for that!

(Side note: I adore this author very much!! Their works are all incredibly heartfelt, so I’d recommend them as a whole to you! All their fics carry the same emotion and love, so please check them out if you have the time <3)

White Wine, Fine Dine And Everything On The Line by Deiohx

Oh my gosh. I feel like those were my first words when I was done reading this one, because oh my gosh. White Wine, Fine Dine And Everything On The Line takes a beautiful ride through Karlnapity’s lives through loveable characterization and a well-thought-out journey through Las Nevadas as the three rediscover their love.

I have to point out how much I enjoyed how this fic recounted on a handful of sexual headcanons, all of which I think really fit in with the characterization of Karlnapity. As a whole, this fic provides several fluffy moments and culminates with an angsty but sure resolution, and the entire story feels like a perfectly untold future canon. Despite the warnings I gave, also, I believe that this fic handles each topic very well.

I didn’t listen to anything while reading this one, but I think that a well-crafted playlist to fit each moment might add to this story. It’s still an engaging read without it, though! This fic is perfect for when you crave a resolution in canon <3

One final thing to note is that this fic has a number of obvious grammatical errors, but they’re all quite easily overlook-able as the story is quite good.

We Must Have Good Pitch, ‘Cause Baby, You and Me are So In Tune! by Quid_Pro_Cure

This fic is 5/5 dtkq-centric, but it’s told through Sapnap and focuses mostly on Karlnapity, so I had to include this fic in the list. Affectionately called So In Tune, this fic has many affectionate moments of its own and lovely and consistent characters that will have you hooked like a hook line (haha get it, because music has hooks- I’m sorry). I think that this author has a very good grasp on their writing style, and because of it, the story is very balanced and well told, honing in on both story and certain tender moments, all while progressing relationships with little to no angst; this fic is a gift.

The roles of each character will make you so endeared to each of them, and the unfolding of music through words alone is plain mind-blowing. Also, as a little side note, the author’s update notes before each chapter will be proof enough to how sweet this story is, Cure is an absolute dear (I encourage you to check out their other works, too! They have more Karlnapity ;))

The author also made a specially crafted playlist to go along with the mood of the fic; I recommend listening to it in the background as you read!

This story is another non-oneshot, also wanted to make that clear. And finally, I don’t think that I shed tears throughout the reading of this one, but it certainly has its emotional and very down-to-earth moments that I adore.

We’ve all heard of soulmate AUs, but how about soulmate geese AUs? you had me at hjönk is an endearing modern-day AU with only one fantastical element: the day you’re fated to meet your soulmate, a big, annoying goose leads you to your soulmate (or in this case, soulmates ;)). Bogged by the goose’s insistence, Quackity does his best to escape the creature and runs into a big mistake that ultimately ends up being, well, not a mistake.

With charmingly annoying geese and three souls colliding, this fic is an extremely cute and creative piece. I’d say that it’s best to read whenever; it’s so sweet, hilarious, and lovable all around. The fated one-on-one and eventual 3/3 moments are adorable, also.

This fic has such a great storyline that I don’t think any music is needed. Maybe your favorite upbeat song will do well with this one, but overall, it’s unnecessary.

If you’re in need of a little laughter and some good writing, this fic is for you!

Last but absolutely not least, Big Daddy. I have to be honest, a lot of what makes this fic for me is the second chapter. The first chapter, though, is a loveable misunderstanding story wherein Quackity flirts with Bad (this fic is probably my favorite take on the trope as it’s quite chaotic and funny). The second chapter, however, is a movie in itself where Karlnapity take a journey to the nether. It’s a lot more deeply written than I make it sound!

Big Daddy is no misnomer as this fic uses extensive hilarious similes and metaphors to vividly describe each important detail. The description is positively laugh-worthy and overall a great feel-good fic that hinges on adventure and characterization.

I don’t think that this fic requires anything else as I was laughing so much by the end of each chapter that I wouldn’t even slightly pay attention to any background noise. This story is truly a delightful read that does not feel as kinda-long as it is.

I’d recommend reading this when you’re in the mood for comedy! This fic has tons of comedic fluff and great writing to go with it.

In this adorable thread of posts/tweets, The Karlnapity Sims (which I have somewhat unofficially titled) series aims to mend the separation of current canon and rejoin Karlnapity… but in another timeline! With wonderfully designed characters and compellingly sweet events, the threads take you through captions and screenshots like a storybook fic.

Even though we all know the ending that the three get back together (hopefully), I love all the moments of them discussing polyamory, learning about each other, and all the little ups and downs before they get there. The story is currently unfinished but it’s adorable - so much so that I recommend this before it’s over!

This fic is a perfect pick-me-up if I were to describe it. The author’s captioning and commentary is easy to read and the dialogue is also quite cute. Overall, I can tell that a lot has gone into making this. I can only imagine how long it takes to compile screenshots and give each set a specific context, so kudos to the author (since I can only give likes)!

I don’t even consider music or anything when I read this series, it’s so cute and I think the engagement of both pictures and words is enough to have you hooked.

1: What are your favorite whump tropes?

A list of ones I don't like would be way shorter ahaha. I'm a sucker for sickfics, fainting and hidden injury. When a big, tough stoic character is so cool, calm and collected and then bam they start sweating, fainting and being all delirious... solid stuff. Also absolutely love whumpees being knocked out if you couldnt tell from my writing. If they're unconscious I'm there.

Love a good little stabby stab too, but a fun little trope I've tried to include a couple times if the knife to the throat and drawing a teensy little bit of blood. That visual in my head is always so great and the whumperflies are insane.

I also love soft fluffy stuff, team members looking after their Leader is a solid fav and the tough character cracking and becoming the fluffiest caretaker for whumpee is where it's at!

My writing contains my favorite whump tropes, I don't really write anything I don't like cause why would I? That being said if it was requested I would try my best, some of the prompts for JOD I didn't like turned out to be my favorite stories to write (Day 27 as an example might be my favorite story I wrote from the entire month, we might need to visit Enjar again?)

I also write different tropes depending what I'm studying at the moment! I recently started ~trauma studies~ so I hope it improves my physical whump a little more. (I'm a 2nd year uni student. Transferred from nursing to paramedicine at the end of last year and I have to do first year again yayyyy...) I was doing a lot of CPR as well as assessments for illnesses last semester (cardio-respiratory, abdominal and neurological) and last year did medications, life support and wound dressings. I have to try really hard not to do the step by step of aseptic non-touch technique or describe in detail how Rescuer inserts and OPA when I write lmao.

I usually resort to "And caretaker applied the dressing and went away" instead of "Caretaker lined up the dressing and using the fold method, applying the dressing cleanly to the sterilised skin" cause thats way too specific.

Anyway, the point of that ramble is that I use it to practice for my assessments, it helps me wrap my head around concepts I'm struggling with and it's good inspiration and fun to use my free time in an effective way. Whumpee fell over and broke their leg? Snail is on the scene! Whumpee had a seizure? Snail is doing AEIOUTIPS to figure out why! I love medicine as a science, that shits cool as fuck!

I don't tend to post those ones as they are kinda long, boring and kinda personal as the Caretaker is me. It feels like writing what is effectively fanfic about myself and doesn't make me feel right, I'm not a super boastful person really. I have posted a couple Cranky Whumpee is an example of when I did a mental check of how much I remembered about wound care and what I needed to study up on (the massage was just cause I wanted a massage). It keeps me interested in my more boring skills, prevents skill erosion and is good practice for writing and medical care, my two favorite things!

**I would like to clarify however, that I have a love for whump and a love for medicine but they are too seperate things. I don't get whumperflies for my patients and dont like to imagine scenarios in whump similar to what I have done irl. I got into whump as a thing after I began studying. I did not decide to study these things because of whump. I've always had an interest in medicine and almost everyone in my family are in the medical field in some capacity.** - thank you potential employersssssssssss :)

4: Do you prefer physical whump or emotional/psychological whump?

It really depends on the whumpee and what's happening. Physical whump is more fun to write, but psychological whump is a close second. Love delirium and all that jazz. Emotional isn't as much of a favorite cause I just can't get into it as much as the others, idky. I guess it just feels mean which is weird cause I happily write about people smashing Leader's ribs or whatever. Do love an emotional moment tho, fluffy emotional caretaking is the best.

maybe its cause I was a touch starved child but hugging, cuddling, being close just is nice to write about and I love giving my whumpees something nice as a treat.

No one knows why, but fifty years ago, people starting getting soulmates. You would find them because you could use their quirks, albeit a weaker version or for far less time than them. Izuku knows he has not one, but two soulmates, something only 1% of people have, but he's quirkless. They don't deserve to be saddled with him, if they can even find him. Then All Might offers him an opportunity to be a hero, and suddenly he has a quirk that he desperately has to hide. Even now, he doesn't feel like he deserves his soulmates, Bakugo helped hammer that home throughout his life. Too bad for him they go to his school, and they aren't about to give up on him now that they know he exists.

Yuri Plisetsky was as normal as you could get. Sure, he was soon going to be an internationally acclaimed Russian figure skater as soon as he was old enough to qualify, but other than that, he was normal. Then he found an Italian boy wearing an aviator's jacket, passed out near the local rink, and suddenly, things... changed. Well, it wasn't obvious at the time. Hell, after the kid left, with a promise to write him letters, he hadn't really been expecting anything except a close friendship and probably a lawsuit as soon as he figured out which kinda neglectful parent leaves their narcoleptic ten year old alone in an unfamiliar country. But Nico di Angelo was an enigma, who brought trouble no matter how hard he tried not to, and chaos inevitably followed. i.e Yuri and Nico are pen pals. Yuri is concerned. Nico is trying not to concern him. It is not working.

And even further beneath that is something other. Above Gotham there is something. Anyone who spends time in the city can tell you that much. In the shadows of tall buildings or on outcrops of stone there was movement. Flashes of color or shadows taken form. Ever watchful eyes following the movement of the cities beating heart. Some feared what was above, some feared what was below. But for one... well one craved both.

Haruno Sakura made a promise. Looking in the eyes of her Shisou and the reanimated Hokage, she took on the most important mission of her life. Go back in time and try to prevent the 4th Shinobi War. Generally speaking, one does not personally meet the King of Hell after death unless one has fucked up tremendously in life. Someone becomes no one becomes a prince in the Land of Wind. Tensei of Sunagakure has a hit list, a god of the underworld breathing down his neck, and plenty of time to figure things out while he tries to make this house a home. Hopefully.

The first time Nawaki realizes something is wrong, he’s three years old and alone in the room in the attic of the orphanage. That’s not my room, he thinks. “Naruto, do you want to go to Ichiraku’s?” Hokage-jiji asks him when he visits him. That’s not my name, he thinks. Because he’s pretty sure his name is Senju Nawaki. It takes him a while to understand what happened. He died, he remembers one night, waking up screaming from a nightmare that shakes him to the bones because it’s not just a nightmare, it’s a memory, and he remembers running ahead of his team, seeing, too late, the wire as he trips it, and then fire, sound and pain, so much pain, and it hurts and it hurts so much and then… Nothing.
