If you’re still taking prompts:
The triplets doing something at the same time in true creepy triplet fashion
Always open to prompts! The only time I'm not is if the ask box is closed 😁 (And I promise to announce if that's ever the case)
Tumblr media
The triplets didn't often do things at the same time, but when they did it was noticeable. It could be downright eerie.
The first instance Mirabel noticed was when Antonio dropped a plate. Thankfully, the plate didn't break, but all three triplets looked up at the exact same time, standing up in tandem and even had the same concerned looks on their faces. For the first time, Mirabel noticed a true resemblance between her mother, aunt and uncle.
But it was only a small thing. Easy to brush off.
However, those little moments kept piling up and up. Only Abuela, Félix and Agustín didn't seem to notice. Meanwhile, the Madrigal kids were all increasingly aware of the "weird triplet thing" and unnerved whenever it happened.
It was weird. How could three separate people, who were all so different, be so in sync?
Another time was when Camilo was starting a water balloon fight. He and Mirabel tip-toed into the garden. The triplets were sitting on the back steps.
Without even turning around, the three of them said, "Don't even think about it."
"How did you know!?" Camilo demanded. He looked as freaked out as Mirabel felt.
It was even weirder when Julieta, Bruno and Pepa turned to face them at the exact same time.
"We know," they said flatly. It was getting ridiculous.
"Knock it off," Mirabel said, tense as a spring.
Julieta's smile was so sweet it verged on openly mocking. "Knock what off, mija?" she asked. She was clearly biting back laughter.
"That!" Mirabel pointed between them. "The weird triplet thing!"
"You're gonna have to clarify," Bruno said, hands clasped and shoulders back in an impression of Abuela. "We do a lot of weird triplet things."
"You keep doing things at the same time," Camilo said, gripping one of the water balloons so tightly that Mirabel was surprised it didn't pop. "And saying things at the same time!"
The triplets looked at each other, eyebrows raised. They shrugged, only further proving the point.
"Eh," Pepa said. "We don't even notice anymore."
"It's weird," Camilo said.
"I think it's sweet," Julieta said, nose in the air.
With an outright mischievous grin, Bruno added; "It's a triplet thing. You wouldn't get it."
Mirabel threw her water balloon, but Bruno ducked, laughing at her. It sailed harmlessly overhead, bursting on the grass. Casita rattled and Mirabel knew the house was laughing at her and Camilo too.

One of the major things I like about Agustín is not that he’s just an amazing goofy dad, but he’s extremely similar to his daughter Mirabel, when you really think about it.
Tumblr media
According to director Jared Bush, Agustín is also a character who’s trying to fit in with the family, since he’s more city oriented because of his parents being from there. He’s goofy and clumsy JUST like Mirabel is as well, and I just love that. The thing that gets me though is that Agustín probably went through the same phase Mirabel did, where he was constantly trying to fit in and please Abuela, heck, Jared also confirmed that he wasn’t Alma’s first choice when it came to marrying Julieta, so I can only imagine him constantly feeling like he had to prove he was enough for his wife, enough for Alma, and it must have not helped his case since he’s a clumsy clutz all the time. Taking this into consideration only makes me love the scene where he stands up to Alma even more, because you could tell he was done with her crap, as well as not being enough for her just like Mirabel. The only sad thing is, during the events of the movie he’s accepted that he’s not perfect and embraced who he is, unlike his daughter, who at the time didn’t know her place and felt insecure. However, you feel so happy for both of them in the end, especially for Agustín himself, because his daughter had eventually seen herself the way he did all these years. ❤️‍🩹

Julieta: How's having your own actual kids?
Félix: Horrible. I never knew something could cry so much. It never stops.
Julieta: Oh, well, the kid will grow out of it eventually, right?
Félix: Oh no, the kid's great. She hardly ever cries.
Julieta: But I thought-
Pepa, sobbing while holding Dolores: FÉLIX, I LOVE HER SO MUCH.

The question, Do you believe in miracles? was redundant in the Encanto. Of course every resident of their hidden valley believed in miracles and believed in magic: a miracle saved them so long ago and magical blessings were the norm with los Madrigals at the helm.
Julieta lived under the protection of a miracle born from her father’s sacrifice and her mother’s need. Sappy as it may have sounded, she believed each of her daughters was a blessing, magic or no magic. It was a miracle of its own to have such a wonderful family.
But magic and miracles came with prices: stress, responsibility, fear…Her brother vanishing for ten long years.
A curse for Julieta, such a personal one, as if the fates contrived to come up with a special torture for her. What better way to break her heart than to tear apart her family?
*
The Madrigal triplets reunite, and Julieta has a lot to reflect on.
