I know this is an ice cold take, but I get so sad when I play Fire Emblem. Because like, some of these characters have such an interesting story, so much of it is GOLD.

Like, PLEASE tell me more about Camilla’s parentification and how it turned her into a helicopter sister, develop her paranoia surrounding Corrin, how the constant changes around her lead her to clinging to someone who literally couldn’t leave, how her connection to Corrin was most likely due to abuse and a lack of belonging, how her growing up without a mother drove her to become one for her siblings.

PLEASE elaborate on how Libra’s fervent faith was brought along by a neverending feeling of guilt, how he found peace within religion, how his past chases him. Tell us more about his devotion to Emmeryn, how his faith might have shaken upon seeing her plummet.

I BEG for more information on Peri, how her psychosis has been fed by being placed in a position where she must continue to feed her loodlust. For stories about Noire and how her trauma effects her beyond her DID. For the overwhelming fear and trauma Yarne has seeing history repeat itself, his mother dying, making him once again the last of the Taguel.

I feel like that’s the problem with the Fire Emblem formula, but also, in some way, it’s strength. They introduce these compelling ideas, but instead of leaving them open-ended and well shown, they just fall flat.

Great for the fanfic writers though.

i think tharja should have been more important to awakening’s story. not only is she plegian and so could have provided a plegian perspective on the constant ylisse-plegia back-and-forth to help make things feel less one-sided (we aren’t given this until the second drama cd and it has to come from GAIUS, who is not plegian), but she’s also the game’s second-best example after robin of “you are not what the future dictates you to be,” one of the game’s main themes. i challenge my fate etc etc. what do i mean by this? well

first off personally, i tend to shelve the entire noire-dad support chain because it 1. sucks and 2. contradicts several other chains — ex. ricken + tharja A, where she acknowledges people don’t like to have hexes tested upon them and so has ricken test things on Her, her henry, gregor, & virion chains, where she can’t hex them at all, her frederick chain where she PROMISES to not hex him any more — and it also just doesn’t make sense with others, like her dynamics with lon’qu and libra, which are two of her most serious support chains. why would she do that to them. or considering how she is with robin, why would she hex him or her kids with him. she’s ALSO mentioned to be good with kids in her libra paired ending, making her hexing children more puzzling, and noire’s blood-and-thunder thing is also not actually caused by tharja hexing her like people think. so they wrote this in to make child abuse a teehee gag that contradicts a lot of tharja’s character setup and i just ignore it and that’s not what i’m referring to here. (note: her supports with noire mention to her she’s been tested HERSELF by her family since birth, which she thought was normal, but that same chain reveals her future self also kept noire away from dabbling in dark magic at all so it very much doesn’t make sense why she would expose her to it by testing it on her anyway). HOWEVER,

tharja is very still much a neglectful parent in the bad future and that’s her main issue. after her spouse dies she dedicates everything to getting revenge for him and tracking down the risen that killed him and neglects her daughter in the process. for the sake of getting revenge on a corpse. awakening tharja’s main thing is realising that by pushing her child away in the future she helped ruin her. noire spent most of her life doubting her mother loved her because of how she was pushed away after a certain point until tharja told her directly “i’m sure she did because she kept you away from curses to protect you. and i love you.” she’s one of the game’s biggest examples of learning what not to do and i wish she had more focus because that’s like. one of the main themes of the game <- biased tharja fan. thank you for listening

Genuinely curious, what’s up with Noir’s age? And what does it have to do with his 08/09 run? ((You may ignore if you wish :D))

i no longer have to do an extremely long explaination about comics noir because it has already been done here, by foolsocracy!!!!!!! really great breakdown of his very vague age, which is never said outright in the 08-09 run, only implied!! my own personal take on this is that he's 17-turning-18 in the first one, just about graduated high school but not able to afford college (see the panel below LOL)

this also got a little longer than i thought it would, so under the cut for the rest of it! the tl:dr is "itsv!noir is not the same as comics!noir, and people saying that he's 19 isn't strictly true. to me, he's around 30!"

eyes without a face (the 09 run!!) only takes place 8 months after, in september 1933, which makes peter 18-turning-19. this is more of a headcanon though!! (see the noir birthday poll, which made me a noir-is-a-december-baby truther)

(peter being a libra is mentioned once in the first issue of amazing spider-man (2015), mostly as a punchline, and a specific date of october 10th was given in another issue that i have lost. other media, like with the mcu, has his birthday on august 10th. but to me noir is a sagittarius and you cannot pry that from me)

the 2020 run of noir begins establishing the year as 1939, making peter around his mid-20s, and 25 if you believe me on the 'peter was 17 in noir 2008' LOL.... i won't lie though i haven't read this one properly i very quickly skimmed so pinch of salt regarding my takes on the 2020 run

noir being in his teens during the first original runs is why "itsv!noir is 17-19" goes around so often! i've seen that on tumblr, twitter AND on tiktok and i don't mind what people hc, but it has become a pet peeve when people say it like its canon even though it's never been mentioned by the writers or the art book. itsv!noir is similar to his comic counterpart, but his differences in his origin story make me interpret him as a different noir (like how peter b.'s dimension is 616B, making him... 90214B?)

again, we are straying from itsv canon/etc here because i'm deranged, but i personally hc noir as being 32! some of my friends think he's in his mid-20s, others think he's older, but really the only reason is that 32 is the midpoint between the other two peter parkers: ripeter was 26 and peter b is 38. he's also voiced by nic cage, which makes me think older in the first place!

i just like the idea that he's more experienced that ripeter, but hasn't gone through as much as peter b. he spends most of the movie being broody ("moral ambiguity of your actions!", "matches burn down to my fingertips", etc etc), or snarkier than you'd expect ("it's that easy" "who are you again?" "you gonna fight or are you just bumping gums" etc etc). he also very sweetly tells everyone that he loves them before he leaves !!! i feel like it can in fact be in character for a peter parker in his late 20-early 30s, distanced from his tragedies in his own world by time (he doesn't forget them, that's different !) being able to look out for the spiders around him.

okay now we are VERY deep into hc territory, but it makes him able to balance out the rest of the itsv spider-gang as an older-brother figure who's able to guide peni, miles and gwen but also be able to act as a voice of reason for peter b. and ham if the sitauation calls for it. that being said noir is still peter parker and is therefore capable of spider-esque tomfoolery, which can lead to him misjudging the need for a snarky one liner ("this is a pretty hard core origin story"). my characterisation of him is also very inspired by heyitsspiderman, the itsv fic that changed me for the better, and noir isn't even in it that much LOL

veering back into itsv!noir's age and your actual question though: he's always read older in the movies, and not at all 17-19. noir is always going to be around 30 (32 if i have to give a number) to me!! if anything, he did go through the same kind of 'canon events' as comics noir did, but is an older and more experienced version of him, with tweaks to the backstory (like a radioactive spider instead of a spider-god, and webshooters instead of organic webbing). there are reasons ofc to see him being younger (egg creams are non-alcoholic, and that if it's 1933, his comicsverse self would be 18-19 too) . however you must consider that sony didn't expand on this and therefore it's up to fan interpretation and also that

#this kind of turns into meta . sort of . sorry about that #and i know some people take those jokes noir makes as like. just very blunt observations of what is happening #i personally believe they are jokes that aren't landing. or just him being a bit annoying <3 i love him for this #i can talk forever and forever about movie noir. its how i got into him in the first place . picked me up and swept me away #and now i overthink and read too much into his like. 6 mins of screentime #also the rich beautiful itsv noir backstory that exists only in my mind..... which is mostly the same #just with small tweaks and adjustments. its MY SIDE CHARACTER and I GET TO CHOOSE THE HCS #eg. the insane 'peter quits working at the bugle very annoyingly for everyone involved before becoming a PI' like this shit just #swirls in my brain. forever and ever.#noir #answered #edit: sorry im just realising this is boiling down to itsv noir is freshly out of his 20s #therefore experiencing post 20s clarity and is not yet going through a peter b-like midlife crisis #and is not a teenager anymore and doesn't have to battle puberty as well as supervillians #so he's somehow doing a little better than the rest of them and able to pass on funny little tips and lifehacks

DSMPSTUCK DESIGNS PT2

heheehehe tommeeeyyyy

he's so goofy, i tried to make him look interesting cuz i saw a lot of designs that were really simple and i wanted to add more silly details

so tommy is a human, but he is in fact an Aries, he is a Prospit dreamer and i believe he is a Heir of Blood (im too sleepy to explain just trust me on this one) so, hypothetically, if he were to be a troll he would be in the (canon extended zodiac's) sign of Arcer (sign of the officer)

OKAY SO TUBBO

i love the idea that tubbo had kind of a jade situation and had to fuse with his sprite which happened to have a ram and is actually god tier but uses normal clothes :)))

so tubbo is a human as well but he is a Capricorn, and i believe he is a Derse dreamer and a Bard of Breath

mostly because of the way he developed as a character, starting in a way, very attached to Tommy, looking for connections and trying to be the leader of a country, but in the end not being able to bare with it all and pushing people away

so hypothetically if he were a troll he'd fall on the sign of Capriun (sign of the cartographer)

fundy!

fundy is a human which also had a jade situation and became part fox!!

hes a Mage of Breath i believe, mostly because of the way he felt isolated from everyone

he is also a libra and a Prospit dreamer which would land him on the sign Libus (sign of the vibrant)

so anyways, he therefore is a Derse dreamer Jadeblood, Prince of Mind, which would fall into Virza (sign of the puzzle) ((fun fact that's also my extended zodiac sign)) (((i swear it wasn't or purpose i prome plz-----)))

so first of all quackity is a Capricorn, HOWEVER i couldn't think of a very good design with purple for him specifically and so i was talking with a friend and came to this thought:

Quackity, like Jack Noir, was kinda pushed around and undermined,(more things i wrote but were deleted,ill do a deeper analysis when im more awake i swear)

essentially hes a derse Capricorn page of space, that would fall on Capriga sign of the surveyor

a deep dive into my astrology headcanons for marinette and adrien <3

okay so first we have marinette, who i believe is an aries sun, libra moon, and gemini rising

an aries’ main traits are determined, bold, and ambitious. they are passionate and confident leaders. while these traits may be more obvious in ladybug, marinette shows them all off as well in the way she shines as class president, has big dreams for her future, and even just in her bold aggressing of chloé and lila when they do wrong by her or her loved ones. some of marinette’s flaws, like her tendency to butt heads with others and her impatience, are also explained by her being an aries.

then we have adrien, who i believe is a leo sun, pisces moon, and libra rising

a leo’s main traits are being lively, theatrical, and passionate and loving positive attention. these traits definitely show up much more in chat noir than in adrien, shown in his playfully flirtatious energy and how he never shys away from a camera. interestingly, i think it’s adrien’s rising sign that shows up far more for him in everyday life. some leo traits that DO show up very heavily for adrien are things like being a great leader of course, and also fierce loyalty and stability. adrien is a dedicated friend and lover whose biggest desire is to make the people he loves comfortable and feel as good as they make him feel.

aries and leo are VERY compatible signs. they are both natural leaders and can be a bit headstrong but i think adrien’s moon and rising sort of ground him a bit more which is why it’s usually easy for him to let ladybug take the lead in a battle. aries and leo have an innate understanding of one another, which shows in ladybug and chat noir being able to wordlessly communicate so well during fights.

“it starts with the right amount of energy and shyness with the sprinkle of respect for each other” IS THAT NOT EXACTLY HOW THEY FELL IN LOVE IN EVERY ITERATION OF THE LOVE SQUARE???

i’m going to go into their moon and rising signs later but for now i offer you a sun sign analysis 🤲🏻

Star Sign

Honestly this chapter is just 1,000 words of pure Marichat fluff. There is no plot here haha. I hope you guys still like it! Lemme know what you think :)

“What’s your star sign?” Marinette asked, tilting her head back to blink up at Chat Noir. They were currently both resting on her lounge chair, his hands in her hair as he neatly braided it. Her lips twitched with amusement as she noticed that his tongue was stuck out with concentration, focusing on her hair.

He frowned, lifting an eyebrow as he met her gaze. “Why do you want to know?”

She shrugged one shoulder. “Just curious, I suppose. I can’t know your real name but I figured a star sign couldn’t hurt.”

Chat chuckled, resuming his braiding. “I’m a Libra.”

Marinette hummed, facing her head forward as her eyes closed. It was lovely having his fingers in her hair.

A Libra though. That certainly made sense. He was definitely very fair and had a strong sense of justice, especially during akuma attacks. After a brief pause where she simply enjoyed the feeling of someone playing with her hair, she murmured another question, “September or October?”

He choked out another laugh and she grinned at the sound. “September. Why does that matter?”

“Just curious.” Her eyes fluttered open and her gaze drifted to her planner. She’d have to pick a date in September and celebrate Chat’s birthday. It could be a nice, fun little surprise for the both of them. Plus, if Marinette was the one picking the date there’d be no chance of knowing his real birth date. That could be a little too personal.

“What about you?” Chat’s fingers slowed. “What’s your zodiac sign?”

She snickered, unable to stop herself from turning around to look back at him. Amusement flickered in her sapphire blue eyes and she raised an eyebrow. “You were literally at my birthday party. You seriously don’t remember?”

He stuck his tongue out at her before huffing. “I know when your birthday is, I just don’t know what the sign is for that month.”

Marinette turned back around, shaking her head. “A Leo. I’m a Leo.”

Her braids must have been finished because Chat was simply running his fingers through her hair. She tilted her head back into the touch, humming to herself softly. They should do this more often.

“A Leo?” he whispered, leaning close to her. His breath brushed against her ear and caused a shiver to race up her sign. “That’s the lion, right?”

Marinette giggled and nodded her head. “Yes, I’m a lion. Rawr.” She lifted her hands up in mock claws.

Chat chuckled, quiet and deep. “A big cat. No wonder we’re such good friends. We’re both cats.”

“Yes, that’s the reason we’re good friends. Because we’re both cats.” Her voice was filled with amusement. Of course that’s exactly what Chat thought about her being a Leo. Why would she have thought anything else?

The two were quiet for a few moments later. Simply basking in the other’s presence as Chat lightly ran his fingers through her hair.

As they sat in the comfortable silence, Marinette’s thoughts drifted, turning to the other Libra she knew in her life. Particularly the one that she had fallen head over heels in love with. The one that she had spent hours googling on whether or not their signs were compatible.

They were. And she remembered the next countless hours that she had spent talking with Alya about it. She had gushed about how perfect they were for each other and how they were made for each other. Destined in the stars she had called it.

Marinette’s eyes opened, glimmering with fondness as she recalled those memories. Of course, Chat was also a Libra. It probably explained why they were such good partners.

“You know, I know another Libra,” she murmured, breaking their silence.

He stiffened, his fingers pausing in her hair. She frowned, wondering why he had stopped. Chat cleared his throat before hesitantly saying, “Do you now?”

“Yes.” Marinette gave a swift nod of her before chuckling. “Though I suppose you two couldn’t be more different from each other.”

He exhaled, his body instantly relaxing as he resumed his ministrations in her hair. “He’s not as pawsome as I am then?”

“No, that’s not what I meant.” She swatted behind her lightly, missing him completely. “You’re just both different.”

“How so?”

“Well, for one thing, Adrien makes less terrible puns.” Marinette couldn’t stop herself from snickering.

Chat instantly gasped, turning her around so that she could face him. His mouth was gaped open in mock offense, a hand on his chest. “My puns are pawsitively purrfect! And I know mew love them!”

“Love is an overstatement.” She rolled her eyes, her voice dry.

He tapped her nose knowingly, his eyes glimmering at her. “Don’t deny it purrincess. I’ve seen you smile and laugh at them.”

Marinette’s lips slowly began to twitch into a small grin against her will. “From how bad they are maybe.”

“Look, see! You’re smiling now! I win!” Chat cheered, his own face splitting into a wide beam.

She reached around him, grabbing the pillow and proceeding to hit him with it. He stood up, laughing, and began running around her room but she simply chased after him, continuing her attack.

“Take it back!” Marinette’s laughter mixed with his as they made a mess of her room.

Eventually, Chat raised his arms in surrender, his snorts coming out in between pants for air. “Alright, alright, I take it back! You win.”

She dropped the pillow back onto her chaise, a smug grin on her lips. “I always win.”

His eyes narrowed before he wiggled his fingers at her menacingly. “I think you might be regretting that statement.”

Marinette’s eyes widened and she took a slow step back, a giggle escaping her as imaginary fingers brushed against her side. She shook her head carefully, keeping an eye on Chat as he approached her. “You wouldn’t.”

“I would,” he said right before diving for her, his hands tickling her sides and stomach as she squealed.

Marinette just barely managed to duck out of his hold as she sprinted up her ladder to her bed. She heard his footsteps racing up after her as she shoved open the trapdoor to her balcony. “Ladybug, oh Ladybug save me!” she shouted out. “Your partner’s gone rogue!”

“There’s no Ladybug to save you this time!” Chat laughed before following her out to her balcony.

He backed her into the corner of her railing before picking her up, spinning her around in a tight hug. She buried her grin in his shoulder, her chest bubbling with pure happiness. This was exactly the way every day should end.
