Wait, who’s Rawm?

Rawm is a character that was first seen in Pandora Rising (a cancelled mobile Avatar game) then in the Adapt or Die comic. He’s a member of the Tawkami clan. His first biography in Pandora Rising—

“As a youth, before his Iknimaya, Rawm dared his cohorts to ride out into a raging storm. Though this was strictly forbidden by their Tsahik, the children rode out anyway. As they rode farther from home, the skies darkened and lightning began to course through the sky. When a particularly strong crack broke the sky, Rawm's Direhorse bucked wildly with fright and threw Rawm to the ground, severing the neural link and leaving him disoriented, battered, and bruised. It was in that moment his life changed. A sizzling arc of lightning struck Rawm. His friends gathered the limp Rawm up and returned to their Hometree. After many days, he awoke and found that he was permanently marked by the lightning. The new patterns on his body looked like the deep and powerful roots and strong branches of the Hometree, and his Tsahik said that he was now chosen by Eywa. Chosen for what? He has to find out for himself.”

His second biography, which replaced the first along with a small altering of his appearance—

“After being struck by lightning, Rawm was lucky to be alive and he was permanently marked by the lightning strike - the new patterns on his body looking like deep and powerful roots, or the tall and strong branches of a Hometree.”

Fun fact: his name means lightning in Na’vi!

So I'll say this first: I'm not the biggest Lightning fan. Lightning is objectively well written and I love her sm but she doesn't sit in my brain as often as say, Hope or Vanille in the series. Maybe even Noel actually asdklfjadshl idk

But I love her nonetheless, not as much as she loves her sister. The whole series of FF13 is centered around Lightning saving her sister over and over again. FF13-2 is where Serah is saving Lightning and sacrifices herself doing so, and that guilt hits Lightning severely over in Lightning Returns.

But this guilt has also just been something she's dealt with growing up.

After losing her parents at such a young age, Lightning had no choice but to force herself to grow up for Serah and her sake. Serah relied on her so Lightning had to make ends meet, but this came at sacrificing her time with Serah.

In the first game, Serah and Lightning's relationship is...albeit distant. The way siblings can be awkward with one another over time, but the love is still present all the same. Serah always cooks for Lightning when she comes back home, and Lightning is fighting as a soldier for Serah. Love is present, even if not spoken.

And that's just the sister dynamic between the two. Lightning and fighting. The reason why Lightning had named herself "Lightning" and even has 2/3 of her main roles within the battle system (a whole can of worms that I shouldn't open ALKDJFH) is all offense roles. "Lightning: it burns bright and fades away. It can never protect, only destroys." The girl took out the grief of losing her parents on fighting. Fighting was her coping mechanism because her job as a soldier is what allowed her to push herself forward. But it wasn't until she started reflecting further on this with Hope's situation in which Hope was ALSO READY TO START FIGHTING as a means to sustain himself that Lightning realizes that this is wrong. That that's no way to cope.

But of course, it really takes Lightning till the end of the series to really understand that. She buried that grief so deep in herself and locked people out because she was so focused on just trying to press on and you know, fight.

She's a really interesting character, and I love her a lot. She might not be a blorbo in the way that she doesn't sit in my head so often, but my GOD if I have to read another "Lightning is just Cloud 2.0", I'm going to start beating people with a hammer :D

Trope blender strikes again!

Since the formation of the Justice League Dark to deal with supernatural threats, Diana had been acting as the team's 'Superman' for lack of a better term.

It was, however, not a position she was entirely suited to, as ironically enough when engaging supernatural threats she was better suited to the same role that Batman played in the Justice League, engaging with superior training, tactics and specialised tools while also acting as battlefield tactical command.

With the lack of any other candidates however, she made do. But not for long.

Thanks to a wandering little girl, Diana had gained a new cousin and uncle who were refreshingly free of the hubris of the Greek pantheon, as well as an unexpected (and terrifying) meeting with her Grandfather who was far different from the stories, she supposed death and a few millennia would calm someone down. She was pleased however to add some paternal family members she could enjoy calm moments with.

Her Uncle was willing to help, however his backlog from the previous King in addition to the repairs and ongoing negotiations for reparations with the United States government made her feel guilt for placing further demands on him.

Her younger cousin however was more than happy to "get out of the house", her Father's comments about the expansiveness of a TARDIS castle completely ignored.

Ellie was already training with her old friend Pandora (So many happy reunions) so Diana was more than willing to take her to Themascerya for an initiation to the Sisterhood of Amazon's. Danny was ecstatic that his daughter was making friends.

Now Ellie as Banshee is JLD's front line fighter and Diana is the tactician, a dynamic duo of their own. Diana is so proud of her little cousin.

Which is why today was very..... Strange.

Basically the JLD have to head to the Watchtower for some threat, Ellie is super pumped because SPACE and Diana is excited to take her smol bean cousin to the Watchtower for the first time.

Batman and Co arrive and Drama TM occurs because "Holy shit that little girl looks like a Talia with blue eyes", Damian starts accusing and mouthing off, Ellie freaks because her Dad has warned her about the League of Assassins, so she freaks and bails.

Diana is explaining who Ellie is, how they're related when Uncanny Valley Danny in human form comes out of a portal in his "Royal Casual" work attire. Loose jeans,button up with vest, fluffy slippers with a coffee mug in hand. He's facing Diana, paying 0 attention to who else is there beyond "cool space station".

"Hey niece, why is my daughter running through my castle screaming about killer birds?"

"Ah, I believe she is referring to Robin being a former member of the League of Assassins." Diana replies.

Batman and the rest of the Justice League are tense, assessing this possible ally who RADIATES power and death. Anyone affected by death can feel it like static in their teeth during a lightning storm. Those who have been into the Lazarus Pits feel safe yet the overwhelming urge to KNEEL BEFORE YOUR KING.

"Well shit, someone actually escaped from the Fruit Loop Supreme? Anyone who gets away from my asshole grandfather is alright by me." Danny replies as he turns to look at the various heros, taking a sip from his mug.

"Danyal?" A faint hopeful whisper as Damian takes his mask off to look at his Brother (HOW, HOW? HE LOST HIM HE'S HERE HOW?) His dead twin somehow here and changed so much.

*Slurp*

"Well shit, didn't expect this."

This entire time Bruce's brain is making crunching noises.

It's not the extra son that's apparently God of the Afterlives. It's not the granddaughter.

Diana is his son's niece. Bruce had sex with his grand niece. Barbara is right, he needs therapy.

“Are you so utterly blind, Potter, that you aren’t aware I’m trying to get through? Move,” Regulus snarks, his eyes flashing dangerously as James blocks his path.

The corridor is bustling around them, students wandering to their lessons with varying degrees of determination between them. Barty is staring James down with a smirk from where he stands at the end of the corridor with Evan, Pandora and Dorcas, looking like a shiver of sharks prowling for smaller fish.

James feels like that smaller fish.

He returns his attention to Regulus, who looks just as put out with his lack of attention as he does when James is bothering him. James grins rakishly. “Why would I move out of your way when you shower me with such sweet words?”

Regulus’ grey eyes flash like lightning flickering across a body of water, sleek and magnificent. The breath leaves James’ lungs as he watches Regulus get all worked up.

Taking a step forward, Regulus brings his face into closer proximity to James’. He says quietly, calmly, “Potter, I will make you wish you’d never been born if you don’t get out of my way.”

“But if I’d never been born then I never would have met you, love.”

The delight that James feels as he watches Regulus’ cheeks flush prettily, the rouge trailing over the high of his cheekbones and to the tip of his nose, is indescribable. He looks as though he’s struggling to compute what James just said, the pet name having such a delicious effect on him. James’ grin turns decidedly more seductive as he moves closer to Regulus, backing him up against the corridor wall, feeling like the prey turned predator as he does so.

“Did you like that, love?” He asks, pressing his body to Regulus’ and delighting in the sharp intake of breath from the younger boy.

“Don’t be ridiculous, Potter,” Regulus breathes, sounding the most unmoored that James has ever heard him. “I know you’ve got the entire castle wrapped around your finger, but you have no effect on me.”

“Oh, really?” James asks, leaning down to press his face into Regulus’ neck. The corridor has gone silent around them and he’s grateful because it means he can press a kiss to Regulus’ neck without an audience.

Regulus gasps at the sensation and James smirks against his neck, pressing kisses all the way from the junction of his neck to the bolt of his jaw. Regulus squirms, his hands coming up to grab at James’ shoulder and bicep, fingernails digging in. The feel of it gives James a heady rush and he allows his last kiss to have more of a bite to it.

Against his jaw, James whispers, “No effect whatsoever, huh?”

Regulus stills suddenly, his body going completely frigid as though he’s been dunked into freezing cold water. James, confused at the sudden change in body language, pulls away and stares at him, only to find that Regulus is looking at something over his shoulder.

A shit-eating grin grows on Regulus’ face as he looks between the mysterious thing over James’ shoulder and to James. “Good luck, Potter.”

“What—”

“James Potter! What the ever-loving fuck do you think you’re doing?!”

James winces and turns around slowly, meeting Sirius’ incredibly unamused face. “Hi, Pads.”

Basically a sequence I imagine while drawing the dresses XD I also want to mention that when it’s finish 🥺 you can draw it on your oc and even tweak a bit detail to fit your Yuu or OC. Surprisingly you just witness your dragon boyfriend practicing a dance with a beautiful dress. He hummed ‘that song’ while spinning with the dress. What a beautiful princess gown with dark green silk. It looks so shiny and smooth, something that would delicately touch her skin while being held in that big palm. Imagine how soft that hand craft lace feels when on your chest. He did not spare any piece of jewellery from his procession. He keep bring in dazzling earrings and necklaces to test it with the gown. He would have use the heart of his collection to craft a piece of accessories for you if he doesn’t want to save it for something later in the year. You can see a magical golden thread and needle weaving delicate patterns on the skirt as he continues the dance. Every angle……Every turn………..Malleus is creating a masterpiece. He did it………..for you…….for his princess.

Your face is burning from the love of this dragon fae. Why does he have to put so much effort into it.

Oh no………now you a mess

You open the Pandora box too early and now you have to live with it while pretending not to know a thing until the day. You bit your lip as Mal smoothly tug a strain of hair behind your ears. Your heart beat so fast until the evening of the event. Malleus play cool by teasing you and being a nice partner who prepare a gift for you.

Boom! You are now in a matching dress. So those Raven feathers on the hip are supposed to match his shoulder then ah………..you are about to take off the veil since it looks like a bride. Before Malleus could turn grumpy…..Sebek yell and lecturing you about how talented Wakasama are! You human dare to question his sense of fashion? Outrageous! Just because he love you doesn’t mean you can ruin his days of afford to perfect this dress

Well it’s not like you never know anyway. Just pretend to be surprise so Sebek won’t get a lightning strike okay?

Have you heard of the story of the fairy godmother in Cinderella? Well he won’t just roll out and sing bib bi di bub bi di bo and bang! A nice new dress for you. The old man planned while cuddling you in bed……in sofa…..in the gaming chair(?)

He pretends to be busy with something and hasn't listened to you. Even play dumb and say you look cute in the school uniform. Well it’s not totally a lie since he thinks it’s adorable. Why would he poke on your cheek and nibble your neck while you are in your uniform if it’s not because you are so cute to him.

The truth is, this old bat is as excited as you. He lived through the war time and never got a chance to enjoy a leisure party before. Well it’s just a joint event of 2 schools. It can't compare with how grand the royal ball of the Briar valley held a ball but this is the first time he is going to have his lover join him. He doesn’t have to be alert from enemies. Doesn’t have to command his subordinates to search all the parties involved in this event. Just lay back enjoy the day with you.

He had been trying to recreate that dress in his memories just for you. It was around……..hundred? Two hundred?? Year ago??? He walked past this girl on the street and was stunned by her attire.
