no girl tell us what you think about jegulily!! im so here for it (tone is weird but I mean that genuinely, I don't ship them so I'm not here to be weird)
dw bae ur tone is fine ! (i’ve been waiting for an ask like this 💀) i think jegulily is... yeah its…. like usually as long as its legal idgaf as long as shippers portray their characters right but regulus fans are literally incapable 😭🙏 WHY WOULD U PAIR A MUGGLEBORN AND A BLOOD SUPREMACIST IM SO DONE WITH DIS FANDOMMMM!! that actually goes for a lot of lily ships like bartylily as well (no clue where that came from either but it’s equally as stupid lmfao).
and jegulily just feels like shoving in lily because people feel bad for ditching her, or shoving in regulus because some people like jily and jegulus and want them (for some reason) to coincide even though it makes zeroooo sense for it to. like, idk if i said this with jegulus before (i yap sm on this account i forget what i say), but like it, jegulily can be done well if a realistic dynamic is taken into account, but the marauders fandom is allergic to nuance and so just chalks up everything regulus does and believes to his neglectful homelife. hes not all-bad, sure, i do feel bad for him, but im nowhere close to shipping him with a woman whos part of the people hes trying to eradicate, or with her man who purposefully went against all pureblood tradition (which is such a large part of james’ character— he is a pureblood that chooses to be seperate from that culture hellooooo plz wake uppppp).
marauders fandom has a chronic “i can fix him” mentality when it comes to wizard neo nazis, i have never understood it. but thats a topic for another day.
jegulily should be filled with envy, toxicity and prejudice stop nerfing it to be some fluffy feel-good polyamorous stable marriage where they raise harry together. yall are looking over the potential. this ship has blood and guts in it plz act like it or else idk what to say 😭 if it doesnt end with at least one of them getting murdered i dont want it.

yk when you’re insane abt a ship that is number 2 (or lower) in the fandom bc they’re crazy about the basic ones and i’m like:
I KNOW it would never happen but that don’t mean i can’t explore the possibilities 😔

Regulus and Lily friendship headcanons!!
I think that they wouldn't really come across each other and become friends unless Regulus got closer to the Marauders (preferably in a jegulus or jegulily narrative)
That being said, I feel like they started spending time together sort of by accident or by extention of being with a mutual friend. Like Remus.
Since I see all three as studious and academics, it makes the most sense to me that their friendship started as studying meetings. Regulus first befriended Lupin and joined him in the library for quiet reading. Sometimes Lily sat with them as well.
Maybe one day Reg was reading a book for leisure that Evans had already read and she commented on it. They talked a little about the book over tea after he finished it and that's how they started talking to each other.
Enter James, who is an idiot and thus has a lot of stupid moments. And of course, Lily and Regulus being the witty and sometimes sarcastic little shits they are, have to comment and joke about the dumb shit he does. So their conversations branched from literature to Potter and eventually daily casualties.
Regulus never thought he'd like Lily. She seemed stuck-up in a way. Somewhat unapproachable. And of course, a muggleborn Gryffindor. But he realised she's very clever and sweet. One of the smartest people of her age. Just went to show how wrong blood supremacy was.
Evans never had an opinion in regards to the youngest Black. She gave everyone a chance (obviously, she used to be friends with Snape after all) and never had a negative encounter to base her opinions on. She was still surprised of just how well the two got along. Books and tea came a long way.
Thank you @thatonewerewolf for asking!!

Jegulily: The Things I Want to Do to You (And for You to Do to Me)
Pairing: Regulus Black / James Potter / Lily Evans
Rating: E
Prompt: Threesome
Word Count: 5.6 k
The town is quiet as the morning begins; Regulus can hear the bakers calling from the open windows as they instruct one another to complete various tasks. It's on mornings such as these that Regulus remembers why he relishes working alone- why he was overjoyed at the prospect of owning the shop himself.
He recalls the day clearly in his mind’s eye as he slips his tunic over his head and stuffs his woolen-socked feet into leather boots. Sirius had finally succeeded in escaping the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, and he’d offered Regulus the chance to flee with him to a neighboring kingdom willing to harbor two runaway lords. He recalls as he walks down the spiral stairs the face of anguish that overtook his brother’s features as Regulus denied him, though it would be for the best. Regulus was scared, of course that was a factor to his staying, but he also was prideful, perhaps even more so than Sirius. Regulus refused to allow the House that had burnt them so badly to stand strong after him- if he was to leave, he was going to burn everything down around him first.
He’d started by ensuring safety for his allies, family that had protected the brothers when their mother’s rage consumed her and their father’s drink consumed him. Then, he focused on friends that the House would pull down with; there were certain people he was willing to let burn, others he spent long nights tracking safety for.
In the end, Regulus managed to tear the House of Black down from the inside. Over the course of two years, he planted seeds of doubt in his paranoid father’s head as to the loyalty of his advisors; he used Orion’s drinking against his mother, and Walburga’s rage against his father. Regulus had proven what so many had known for so long: the only thing that could permanently destroy the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black was itself. There was nothing left within the rubble. His cousins were married off -both Bellatrix and Narcissa safe behind the walls of houses Lestrange and Malfoy, respectively, and Andromeda had found a farm boy to love somewhere far enough where the family couldn’t track her. All Regulus had left to do was find his brother, which was far easier said than done.
He had half expected Sirius to show up as the House imploded on itself, to watch the desecration of their family from the outside as he’d always wanted. But Sirius never came. For a long time, Regulus wondered if he was somewhere so far that he was unable to receive news as to the outcome of his blood- or worse, he could receive it and simply chose not to. Not until three years after the fall of House Black did Regulus hear news of the brother he’d lost. Sirius was living in the neighboring kingdom he'd once spoken about, living the noble life without the responsibility. Regulus had kicked himself, of course Sirius had stayed close!
It was a week-long journey from the old family home Regulus had taken to staying in -just because he’d desecrated his family didn’t mean he gave up all their funds- to the outskirts of the kingdom, Gryffindor. Sirius did not receive him when Regulus arrived, as he was informed by the kindly staff, the man was in the heart of the kingdom with the prince -likely causing mischief, one of the maids had said ruefully.
Regulus arrives at the bottom of the stairs and surveys the shop- nothing out of the ordinary, not that he’d expected much. For the first few years after the fall, Regulus had become almost as paranoid as his father, constantly looking over his shoulder, waiting for the other shoe to drop hard. The retaliation he’d expected never came, likely because all the House’s friends were also its greatest enemies, and seemed content to lap at the rewards which came from staying far out of Regulus’ way.
He'd had the forethought to stock the shelves last night before turning in, and he thanked himself for it. Something about the way the shop smelled as the fresh herbs and spices, pages and ink, and bubbling cauldrons, mixed in the air gave him a wonderful feeling of safety. Regulus takes pride in the way the space looks; he thinks it's only natural after he spent so long carefully renovating the inside.
He walks languidly over the door, where he flips the sign and opens the two curtains over the giant stained-glass windows. He stares for a moment at the light that refracts through the yellow and orange glass onto the floor; the sun design was created by Pandora, and it floods both the room and Regulus with warm light.
Customers come and go in waves, Regulus found early on, he’s especially busy near the holidays -particularly busy near the holidays for the old religion. People want spices and herbs for medicine, they want colorful ink and carefully creased parchment for letters and notes, and they want specially made tonics for various specific ailments. Regulus likes being needed. He likes knowing that Madam Fulk will come in every other day to get a tonic for her husband’s bad knee, and he likes knowing that she still wants Regulus to come to their Sunday dinners, even though her son came back from traveling over a month prior. He likes knowing that his life has an impact on others’.
Today isn’t much different as he sets aside a book on pediatric medicine for Missus Lhun, who can’t afford the prices of the physician’s medicine -which Regulus can make better and for significantly less. He hears the chime of the little bell Sirius had installed, and makes a vague greeting as he continues to scour his shelf for a book that he knows is there.
“Hello, excuse me,” he hears a quiet voice say. And, he’s heard that voice before- or, rather, he’s heard that tone before, desperately wanting to be heard, but being too fearful to say anything too loud.
Regulus turns around to greet this person properly before dropping The Matron’s Guide to Pediatric Care by Madam Pomfrey on the ground, his jaw following quickly after.
Lily Evans is, by far, the most beautiful woman in the kingdom of Gryffindor. Fiery red hair and piercing green eyes- she puts all other women to shame. Or so Regulus has heard.
He isn’t quite sure what to make of her at first, of course she’s beautiful, she wouldn’t have made it half as far as a woman on stage without being beautiful, he hears his drunken-father say. But there is more to her, he gathers quickly as she scowls at him as he lifts off the floor, book in hand. Evans wears a large sunhat, which is made to cover her hair, yet fails to conceal anything else about her, frankly, recognizable figure. Her clothes are clearly too nice for the area, fitting more to the high society, grand houses nearest to the castle proper; her wrists are adorned with gold bands encrusted with emeralds and peridots. Regulus can tell she isn’t meant to be here, and she obviously is aware of it too.
“You’re Black, yes?” She says suddenly, with an air of urgency. Before he has the mind to reply she says, “Regulus Black? A friend of mind said you might be able to help me out.” Regulus nods dumbly, playing with the fraying corners of the pediatrics books.
Evans stares at him for a moment, as if expecting him to read her mind, before scoffing and setting a small box on the counter.
“What is this?” Regulus asks finally after a few moments; Evans sighs, as if deeply put upon.
“My engagement ring.” She lifts the lid of the velvet box to reveal a large gold banded ring with several large gemstones encrusted into it.
“You must like green,” Regulus adds airily, trying desperately to recall if he ever advertised ring resizing, or recoloring, or anything in relation to jewelry at all.
“He left it in my post box- my post box!” She hisses, digging her nails into the wooden counter before her, “and he knows damn well I can’t return it! How exactly does one walk up to the crown prince and say, ‘hmm actually, I don’t quite feel like marrying you, here you are.’?”
Regulus stutters to a stop, suddenly filled with too much information to handle at once. “The crown prince? James Potter?” Evans nods solemnly, as if close to becoming resigned to her fate. “What exactly do you want me to do with it?”
Evans sighs before becoming incredibly stiff and turning toward the door, “for now, hide me!” She shouts, throwing herself behind the counter and crouching down near Regulus’ feet as her pretty white and pastel pink dress flared out.
As Evans looks up at him with a look of desperation, Regulus hears the sharp chime of the door again.
He feels the energy within the shop shift dangerously as his eyes meet with one James Potter.
Regulus thinks he is certainly going to die. He can feel Evans’ hand pressing on his foot as she shifts silently to sit against the counter with her dress puffed up around her. And he can feel, and see, as James Potter, crown prince, rakes his eyes over Regulus, as if analyzing some great mystery.
“You’re Sirius’ brother.” James says with finality, as though the truth of it matters less than his perception of the matter. “Told me about you, said you didn’t want to come here, we’re ‘too airheaded,’ here in Gryffindor,” James suddenly gets very close to the counter, and Regulus realizes with great clarity that he was doomed the moment he woke up.
James scoffs then, smacking his belt with a hard hand before surveying the shop, “quite the place you’ve got yourself. Gryffindor must not be too bad, huh?” He asks, and Regulus thinks for a very long second that his head is about to be forcibly removed from his neck, before James Potter, crown prince, turns back to him with a broad grin and gleaming eyes.
“What?” Regulus asks dumbly, almost as confused about this as when Sirius asked about what women felt like during sex.
James Potter, crown prince, laughs fondly, as if he’d known Regulus all their lives, and says jovially, “you felled the great House of Black, and for that,” he steps back two paces before dramatically bowing, “I am in your debt.”
Regulus thinks -which he is certain he needs to stop doing- and wonders if he’s actually about to die, because he feels really close to it.
James walks all about the shop, calling out loudly when he finds something interesting -dye for one’s hair, long needles for weaving large bundles of herbs, and the old book that Regulus keeps in the back of non-specialized tonics he can make within the day. He wanders and points things out and carries things back to the counter when he realizes that Regulus is planted at his station -Lily keeps a death grip on his ankle through the whole ordeal, he isn’t sure if its for his sake, her’s, or the both of them.
James wanders about like a small child allowed free-reign in a candy shop, except somehow worse, because James Potter, crown prince, brings forth small trinkets and books from the shelves and asks in depth questions about them.
Evans remains huddled by Regulus’ feet, a hand clamped tightly over her mouth as she listens intently to James’ pattering around the shop.
An hour later, James Potter, crown prince, leaves, exclaiming, “I’ll be back Regulus Black, mark my words!”
Evans sighs deeply as the door shuts behind him, she reaches up and Regulus has the good sense to grasp her wrists to aid her. He pulls her as gently as he can and feels his heart stutter as her face blooms red.
“I’m so sorry- I- He- damnit,” Evans stumbles over her words, like a fawn that hasn’t gotten used to its legs yet. She tries again, “I didn’t realize he’d followed me here, I’m sorry.” She makes her way back to the other side of the counter, biting her bottom lip. “You probably want an explanation, don’t you.”
Regulus nods, and watches dumbfounded as she places the velvet box back onto the counter.
“I got this in my post box last night, I suppose I could’ve thought nothing of it, except its so. . . specific, here, look,” Evans pulls the ring out of the box and allows him to peer into the inner curve where the distinct carving of Evermore could be seen in the dim glow of candlelight. “It’s a thing- sort of hard to explain that part, but I know it's him. Especially now.” She sucked in a deep breath before returning the ring to its box and continuing, “he was outside the theater when I finished my last show for the afternoon; he was asking me if I got his proposal, what I thought, the whole thing, and I just. . . I got overwhelmed, James isn’t a bad guy by any means he’s just. . .”
“A lot.” Regulus finishes for her, gathering enough courage to lay a gentle hand over-top of her's. “I think I can only imagine,” he says cheekily, feeling his face flush as she grasps his hand.
“I tried to tire him out by running about town, but that man has more stamina than brains, I fear,” they chuckle, and Regulus’ stomach swoops as her thumb swipes gently back and forth on the back of his hand. “I’d never seen your shop before today, and I thought that maybe it could provide me enough cover to ward him off for now.” Regulus shrugs noncommittally and Evans laughs heartily. “You did help a lot, Regulus. Even if you think you didn’t. You could’ve given me away and faced no consequence, but you help your tongue.” Evans pulls back and tucks the velvet box into the pouch by the waistband of her skirt, “for what it’s worth, thank you, Regulus.” She places a peck on his cheek before scampering out of the shop, looking left and right out the door before darting down the road.
Regulus is absolutely certain he’s finally dead.
Once the sun is low beneath the horizon, Regulus trudges upstairs on aching feet, thinking back on the day’s events.
His regular customers came in as scheduled, greeting him cheerfully and making polite conversation. But there was something so off- so consuming about the Evans-James Potter, crown prince, situation.
The interaction replays in his mind’s eye as he pours hot water into the porcelain tub. He ignores the slight stinging to his skin as he sinks down into the warm depth of the bath, resting his head on the lip of the tub, and recalling every detail he possibly can.
Regulus wakes the next morning more exhausted than when he’d fallen asleep. His mind was muddled with confusing narratives that contradicted and pressed against his skull, leaving him with a blinding migraine that he could do little for. As much as he was able and willing to sell medicinal tonics to others, there was something -likely deeply ingrained in him by his mother- that shot down any implication of taking medicine, especially for pain.
So, Regulus suffered. Through the long day, even as the sun began to lower along the horizon, his migraine remained, steadfast in its intrusion. He was more careful than ever, double checking ingredients, rereading written orders, and reconfirming every detail thrice before acting on anything.
He’s wiping down his cutting board when he hears the bell chime once more. Regulus doesn’t have to look up to know that it's late- too late to be coming in expecting anything grand from him, his mind supplies begrudgingly. He feels slow, like he’s wading through thick honey, trying desperately not to drown in it.
Eventually, Regulus is forced to look up at the guest as he literally feels their eyes bore into him like a blade, sharp and unwavering.
“Hello again, Evans,” he says slowly, trying to ignore the intense smell of her perfume, which wafts in his direction and seems hellbent on suffocating him.
Evans seems pleased to finally have his attention, and begins her visit by dropping the small box back on his counter, “I know it's late, but I was wondering if there is any way you can. . . I don’t know, ward him off, he’s very persistent.”
Regulus laughs despite himself and shuffles up to the counter, peering down at the box, “I’m no wizard, Evans, unfortunately I am only capable of relatively modern sciences.”
Evans sighs, but she seems hardly displeased. If anything, she seems to have done it to keep up a front.
“Tell me, Miss Evans, why exactly do you refuse him?” Regulus implores, and sets to work grinding cinnamon and dried holly.
Evans stares at him, and Regulus wonders how she became so renowned for her acting when she was so obvious in her face. Then, she clears her throat, leans over the counter slightly, and speaks: “He’s arrogant, that for starters, he thinks just because he’s the prince that he can get anything- anyone he wants. He’s crude, I’ve heard his ‘jokes’, his commentary on the castle maids.” She sniffs, and Regulus is reminded, oddly, of Bellatrix, before she went bonkers and was married off to the highest -re: most tolerable- bidder. Evans holds the same haughtiness, the same unshakable pride, the quick-wit, but, perhaps most disturbingly, they share the same glint in their eyes as they recall the sins of those that have wronged them.
Regulus shudders.
“I see,” He says eventually as the room fills with tense silence, “he certainly seemed villainous when he was in here just yesterday,” Regulus continues, and Evans narrows her eyes, as if completely aware of where he intends to go. “I do say, I suspect the crown prince must be. . .” He pauses for dramatic effect, lowering his voice and looking around the shop, “a puppy-slayer.”
Regulus expects Lily to roll her eyes and scoff, to huff and leave him to the mercy of his -ever growing- migraine. Instead, she laughs loudly as one of the cauldrons behind him gives a loud, crude-sounding, burp.
“I suspect the crown prince may have something to do with that, too.”
James Potter, crown prince, enters Regulus' shop three days after his original visit. He enters quietly, save for the chime of the bell, and shuffles to the back of the parlor to unsubtly watch as Regulus tends to the only customer in the building.
Leila Strong was not living up to her name, as it goes. She had developed a horrible cough over the spring that still had worn even into the late summer. Regulus had gone through every remedy, every medicine the physician had prescribed her -discounted until he could prove it would work- and had seen no results. His pride was almost wounded, and would be in shambles had he prescribed the too expensive medicines to her. Now, she sat in front of his counter, cane resting on the leg of the chair he’d pulled up for her, asking what to do next.
“There aren't many other options, I can always tell you to go to Madam Pomfrey, but other than that, any stronger brew would be subject to investigation by the Crown. And you know how they are.” She laughs, though it's breathy and deprived of real joy.
“I’ll see if I can’t make the trip over, but you know how it gets. . .” Regulus nods, and, even though he has never really struggled, not in the way the people in the lower town have, he’s seen it. He’s seen true desperation, he’s felt the fear that comes with knowing death is following you, waiting for you to misstep. Leila nods, grasping his hand in her own before fiddling with her cane and standing, hobbling toward the exit.
“A gentleman would’ve offered to escort the lady out.” James Potter, crown prince, states proudly, and Regulus wonders if James is about to run off to make the offer himself.
Regulus pushes the chair Leila was just in into the corner, “I tried once, she threatened to beat my skull in with her cane if I ever implied she was incapable of walking by herself again.” Regulus almost revels in the shock that registers on James’ face. James Potter, crown prince, he mentally adds.
“Oh.” James says, though it seems distant, as if he’s lost in thought, “has she not gone to see the physicians?”
Regulus snorts, and James looks thoroughly offended, “of course she has,” Regulus says, pulling two books off the shelf, “they go to the physicians, get prescribed something or other for whatever their ailment is, and bring the prescription and problem here. I figure out what exactly it is they are being given, I make it better than the physicians could dream of making it, and charge less than the physicians would ever be willing to make it.” Regulus rolls his shoulders, sitting on his stool and flipping through pages, “that’s what I do here.”
James nods slowly, as if taking small bites of the information while trying desperately to digest it all.
“You know Lily Evans, don’t you?” James Potter, crown prince, asks suddenly.
“I’ve certainly heard of her, never been to one of her shows.” Regulus lies about both things; he’s very good at lying, or so he’s been told.
“She came in here a few days ago, I think.” James says without any of his usual bravado or confidence.
“I think I’d remember if Lily Evans came into my shop.” Regulus replies haughtily, and he finds himself sniffing, not unlikely Lily had.
“I suppose you would, wouldn’t you.” James replies, though he sounds slightly more suspicious than before. “Are you certain, though?”
Regulus nods, and resents the clenching of his heart as James’ face falls.
"Er Regulus?"
“Yes?”
“Uh- nevermind, I’ll just- well, I-” James grabs his hand, placing a gentle kiss against the soft skin on the back of it, before dropping it and making a mad dash for the door.
Two days after the utterly confusing encounter with James Potter, crown prince, Regulus experienced the most odd, strange, and baffling thing he’d ever managed in all his days.
The morning started normally, mind. He’d woken without a headache for the first time in days, and felt thoroughly energized through the early morning and into the mid-afternoon. By supper, he had attended to seven separate customers who all intended to order specialized tonics, which Regulus was all too pleased to agree to.
Then, in the most bizarre fashion. The door to his shop was slammed open while he was in the midst of battle with an aloe vera leaf- viciously clawing at each other until Regulus eventually got the upper hand. Only to find both Lily Evans and James Potter, crown prince, trying to crowd into his shop at light speed, talking over one another at impossible paces.
Both were speaking to him, he gathered as he tried to -very subtly- remove his greasy, frilling pink apron -which Dorcas had gotten him- while the two seemed to battle against each other through sheer volume alone.
“Oh, and Regulus you’re just too-”
“Wonderful, and I thought I was in love with her-”
“But there is something about you, and I can’t help but think-”
“What if it was you all along?”
Back and forth, over and over, the two sparred, desperately trying to gain his attention.
Regulus’ eyes bounced back and forth between the two, never lingering longer than their portion of the conversation -if you could call this a conversation- called for.
“Hold on, hold on! What are you two on about?”
Lily spoke first, her voice loud and clear enough to subdue James Potter, crown prince, for a half-second, “I want you, Regulus, I wish to court you properly, starting tonight with supper.”
James recoiled, sending a glare that didn’t at all fit his features to her, “no, that cannot happen! Regulus, I wish to court you, starting tonight! Come to the palace, I’ll show you everything I can offer you.”
“Oh, please! Regulus, refuse him and come with me, we’ll have supper at Benjy’s.”
On and on, they continued, seemingly unaware of Regulus’ swaying back and forth.
His mind reeled as he half-heartedly listened to their bickering.
“What if-” He pauses as they silence immediately, and he is suddenly reminded of growing up in the silence of Grimmauld Manor, of whispers that were always too loud, of never being quiet enough. What if I don’t want one of you?”
They both seem to deflate as they take in the words, and Regulus is left to backtrack to the best of his ability.
“No, no, I mean- damn- both! What if I want both of you?” James’ head snaps to stare at him as if Regulus were the most brilliant person to have ever walked to the earth; Lily’s eyes widen as she looks James up and down before turning back to Regulus.
“I’ll accept it, if only because you’re worth it.”
James laughs from deep with his stomach. He takes two long strides forward toward Regulus and lifts large hands to his cheeks, “I’ve waited so long for this; say yes?”
Regulus thinks he’s ascended, “yes.”
James presses his lips against Regulus’ softly, deepening the connection after Regulus relaxes.
“James Potter, you whore!” Lily yells indignantly, yanking the taller boy off of Regulus.
The next thing Regulus is aware of is Lily's soft, plush lips against his own and her lithe fingers threading through the short little hairs at the base of his skull. Somewhere in the background he can hear James scoff unhappily, and Regulus thinks desperately for a solution. He figures, eventually, to reach a hand out and allow James free reign of his neck and shoulders. This, of course, meant he’d have to remove his tunic, interrupting Lily’s flow and-
“Come on, let’s go upstairs,” Regulus says, ending their bickering for a moment as he leads them, Lily in front, James behind, up the spiral staircase and into his private chambers. “Now,” Regulus says, placing a finger over James’ lips to pause him, “no arguing, if you want to be here, you have to play nice, and-” his brain short circuits as he watches James lift his own tunic over his head. “Um- well, be nice, and all that-” Regulus moans loudly as James continues his ministrations on Regulus’ neck, making quick work of marking fair skin.
Lily follows suit, taking Regulus’ hands in her own and tracing the gentle curve of her breasts with his hands. She slips from her skirts and unties her corset until she is left in only her slips, of which she pulls off as easily as James had.
Lily continues to grope herself with Regulus’ hands as James makes use of Regulus’ mouth, shoving his tongue into Regulus’ mouth as though he’d die otherwise.
James kisses him like nothing else- as though there were nowhere else he’d rather be; Lily seemed to be in agreement as she breathily moaned Regulus’ name as she squeezed her breasts with his hands.
James separated from the kiss, running his hands up and down Regulus’ sides, looking at Lily and communicating with her via only eye contact. James’ hands were suddenly under his tunic running flat against Regulus’ torso.
“Yes?” Lily asks, kissing up Regulus’ hand to his forearm. Regulus nods, not trusting enough in his voice to say anything.
James yanks up his tunic, exposing Regulus’ upper body entirely to the chill of the room. His nipples harden and his skin breaks out in goosebumps.
Lily giggles as she grasps his cheeks within her hands, pulling him down slightly to kiss.
If kissing James is like a hurricane, fast and wild, kissing Lily is like a tornado, fast and wild, yes, but for very different reasons.
Her fingers find purchase in those same small hairs at the base of his skull, providing her ample leverage over the tilt of his head. She uses her newfound control to lean his head backwards, and subsequently onto James’ shoulder, to provide space on his neck for her to mark -at least where James had not already been.
James holds onto Regulus’ waist and hips, running large, calloused hands up and down Regulus’ sides, and pulling him back just enough to feel James’ hard cock pressing against his pants.
Regulus wonders for a moment if Lily is as wet as he -and he suppose James- is hard; he considers until he realizes that he is allowed to check that sort of thing.
His hand shoots out from his side and slips between Lily’s legs to find a considerable wetness. Regulus almost smirks as Lily whines before realizing that James has burrowed into the crook of his neck as he humps lazily against Regulus’ ass.
“James, up.” Regulus instructs, and he is instantly aware of how much control he has. Jame rises from the bed, where he’d been kneeling on the mattress. Regulus points towards the end of the bed, and waits for James to get situated before arranging Lily at the pillows.
Lily lays on her back, head resting comfortably against the mountain of pillows as Regulus leans down and gives a solid lick to her cunt. She gives a mixture of a giggle and moan as Regulus licks again and again, hand reaching up at some point to begin twisting and pulling and playing with her nipples.
James watches, kneeling at the end of the bed, as Regulus licks Lily’s cunt viciously. He strokes his cock slowly, observing every motion either body makes as they are absorbed by their pleasure. He worries his lip for a moment, concerned they’d forgotten him, before Regulus daintily lifts his ass off the mattress and pushes up against James’ cock. He groans, and forgets immediately about any doubt he’d had.
James uses the small vial of lube -he loathes thinking of another man using it for Regulus- to stretch Regulus’ ass. He works his middle finger in first, listening intently as Regulus moans against Lily’s clit, sending her into a frenzy of almost-orgasm. She grasps Regulus’ hair and pulls him off her while she pants.
“Not yet, not yet.” She breathes over and over, as if she were trying to convince herself. Regulus submits to her, though he does slyly continue in the form of licking and nipping at her thighs and hips.
James presses another finger into Regulus’ tight hole once he thinks the first is ready. He burns the image of Regulus biting Lily’s inner thigh to stifle the volume of his moan.
After a few minutes of scissoring and allowing spit to fall from his tongue and onto the crack of Regulus’ ass, James decides he’s ready to add a final finger in.
He pumps desperately, trying to stretch Regulus quickly and thoroughly. Once Regulus believes himself ready, he swings his free hand behind himself, as he continues to suck at Lily’s cunt, and gives a nice loud smack to his ass cheek.
James blushed a violent crimson as he stroked his cock with the lube-he-didn’t-want-to-think-about and began stuffing Regulus’ ass full with his cock.
Regulus lifts his head slightly away from Lily’s cunt as he focuses entirely on James’ cock filling him from behind. He whines as he feels Lily’s fingers on those short strands maneuvering his face toward her left breast, when she petted his cheek while he sucked her nipple.
“Pretty, pretty boy.” Lily says softly, eyes peering over Regulus’ shoulder to watch James’ cock push in and out of Regulus’ hole.
James grunts his agreement, hands finding stability resting on Regulus’ hips as he rocks them back and forth.
Regulus whines as he focuses on the sensations: Lily’s fingers running through his curls, James’ hands on his hips holding him steady, James cock balls-deep in his ass, and Lily tit in his mouth. He sucked like his light depended on it, pulling her nipple between his teeth and sucking it less-than-gently.
He feels a sharp slap to his ass before he realizes what he’d done.
“Bad, bad Regulus.” Lily admonishes, pulling him by the hair away from her breasts -which were red- and back toward her cunt, which he would hardly protest.
James tutted, hand smoothing over the skin that he’d smack, squeezing and pinching Regulus' ass.
James thrusts again and again into that wonderful, tight heat, lost in it as the world fades to leave only Regulus, Lily, and himself. He feels his balls tighten in that wonderful way they do when he’s about to cum.
“I’m- fuck- I’m cumming.” James says before pulling his cock out of Regulus and tapping aggressively on his ass check before cumming hard and fast across Regulus long, pale back.
Lily cums not long after him, toes curling as her thighs snapped shut around Regulus’ head, which he didn’t seem to mind. James watches happily as Lily curls in on herself before stretching out, moaning very loudly.
Regulus cums last, immediately after Lily as he’d taken to dry humping the mattress for some reprieve. His cock hangs heavy and low under him as he shoots cum on the bed sheets.

People watching
Pairing: Jily/Jegulily (James x Regulus x Lily)
Content/ Warnings: mentions of self hatred, PINNING, fluffy really
Summary: Reggie watches James ask Lily out yet again.
Word count: 1.0k
✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆✰⋆
When you hate yourself, watching everybody else's life becomes a great way to pass the time.
Regulus hates himself. He could get into great detail as to why, but that would involve acknowledging his existence, which right now he is trying to avoid. In addition to this, his favorite novel is starting.
He makes himself as small and insignificant as possible, an old art he has perfected as the youngest son to the noble house of Black. A big book and a corner in the library are usually a good way to archive that.
James Potter has just walked into the library. His self confidence and petulant optimism give him a strut that Regulus hates with the same passion he that he loves.
Lily Evans has been studying by herself next to the big window for an hour now. Regulus knows that. But James is discovering it just now.
A slight smirk forms in Regulus's face; the show is about to get interesting.
"Evans!" An overly excited James exclaims, pleasantly surprised at spotting her.
Three things happen at the same time.
"Shh!" Madam Pince utters with a certainly terrifying look.
"Ugh," Lily groans into her lecture notes.
James trips.
Oh, Regulus loves this.
The boy wonder regains his footing with only a small blush and a big ego bruise, "Sorry," he mutters and but not even his charming smile has much of an effect on Madam Pince's permanent scowl.
Delayed but not deterred, James makes his way to Lily's spot. She is, to be fair, containing her laughter pretty well if it wasn't for the slight crinkle on the side of her eyes. Regulus has come to search for it over time.
"Hey," James leans his weight into his hand that he carefully positions next to her things. To the simple eye, it might look like an effortless pose, but if people cared to observe, then they'll notice how he is absolutely forcing it in an attempt to not seem nervous, which he, in fact, is.
Lily stares back at him, half amused and half annoyed. The usual dichotomy that writes onto her face and brain when it comes to James Potter. "Hey."
What is only a polite acknowledgment of existence is quickly taken as an invitation to intrude, for James smiles brightly and sits next to her. "History of magic essay?" The question is redundant, the whole spread of Lily's notes is covered in the long scribbles that you can only get from the tedious lectures on the Goblin's war.
Regulus watches James left foot tapping incessantly, he is definitely nervous. The question now is why. There's more to it than his usual giddiness around his crush Lily.
The young witch nods, a traitorous fond tilt of her lips betrays her overall look of annoyance, "Yes, Potter, why do you care?"
James startles at that, it seems like his planning had only reached that far.
"Um, well, I was just… uh... I need help with it!" he stammers.
"Really, Potter?" Lily arches her eyebrow, her arm resting bored over her notebook. "Which part?" She challenges him.
James blinks blankly for a few seconds, "That's the thing, uh, I haven't started it yet."
Idiot.
Regulus admires them from behind his book, observing every detail as Lily finally gives in and agrees to study with James. He takes in everything: The subtle glances and accidental brushes of their hands; the way Lily's lips curl slightly, betraying a certain fondness despite her chastising every time James attempts to distract her; how James eyes glint underneath his glasses, looking at her as if she's the most beautiful thing in the world.
A sigh escapes his lips involuntarily, he longed to be them. Shed out his skin and exist in the middle of their mutual pull.
James's hand trembles slightly as he pulls something small from his back pocket. Regulus can't make out what it is, his body leaning forward discreetly.
"Uh, Lily?" James clears his throat nervously, sliding the thing closer to her as she looks up from her parchment. "It 's for you..."
And with that he points his wand and mumbles a quiet 'Engorgio' making it grow into a beautiful white rose.
Oh...
Regulus had been wrong. James hadn't entered the library casually.
Huh, that explains the nerves. He wonders how Lily's going to react.
The Gryffindor girl stares down at the rose on the table, blinking at it like it will suddenly explode or something. Regulus thinks that with James’s record you never know but it's not probable that he'd do that to his precious Lily.
The boy shifts on his seat, fixing his glasses nervously as he waits for some kind of response. As ever, James Potter isn't the patient kind. He starts rambling.
Sweet heavens.
"I saw it on the edge of the Forbidden Forest and– Well, I thought that it sort of reminds me of you, you know? Lily, flowers, a rose." James chuckles awkwardly, his hand rubbing at the back of his neck, regretting exposing his dumb trail of thought.
"I know you have made yourself clear— very clear, indeed— but I still wanted to give you this and ask you one last time."
Gently, he nudges the offending flower closer to the yet unreadable girl. "If you say no, again, I won't bother you anymore... I just wanted to try one last time, for good measure," he takes a deep breath, looking at her vulnerably as he asks in an uncharacteristically soft voice,"So, Lily, would you go out with me, just once?"
Regulus spares him an empathetic smile. Here we go again. Another Lily rejection.
Something flickers in her, the green of her eyes glimmering in a way that makes even Regulus hold out his breath.
"Okay." Lily sighs.
Now it's time for James to blink bewildered, "...What?"
"I said okay," Lily repeats like she hasn't just turned James' world upside down, "Saturday. The Three broomsticks. Five o clock."
She picks up her notes and stuffs them inside her bag before standing up, her long fiery hair swaying magnificently as she grants him one last look. "See you, Potter."
And with that she passes right next to Regulus as she swiftly exits the library, leaving both him and James shocked with the sudden turn of events.
Regulus loves his novel.

Sam, sometimes I get so traumatized by searching simple requests on AO3 and getting the weirdest shits.
Like… I was searching for a „Harry Potter& James Sirius Potter“ fanfic with some „Fluff, Angst and comfort“ and the first thing that showed up was an explicit Fiction with Harry doing the devils tango with James S. (Without any of the tags that I put on the search bar????) Than I changed it with „Albus Severus Potter&James Sirius Potter, Brothers, Fluff, Family“ and… again… incest🫠
And it went on and on… James Fleamont Potter/Harry Potter, Lily Lu/Harry Potter, Sirius Black/Harry Potter, Harrys Parents/Harry,… Dumbledore/Harry (I just searched for Albus and Harry. Some fix it. I don’t even know what I wrote wrong)
Only cursed Ships🫠 Is it maybe a bug?🫠
I am not long on AO3, read all my fav fics on ff.net by reddit recs and started reading AO3 much later.
Do you know how to block such weird and disgusting shits on AO3? And on Tumblr too?
Tumblr recommended me so many Wolfstarbucks (Poly James/Sirius/Remus) and so many Jegulily (James/Lily/Regulus) fanart and it doesn’t matter how many times I blocked it, it still recommends me that🫠
Help?🫠
I am just 20🫠
I FEEL you but I am the worst person to ask this question because I am old. I legit exclude a bunch of tags and STILL can’t find anything I want to read because it’s weird shit. So I don’t go looking for fics anymore.
I really rely on recs from trusted Hinny authors or readers.
A good place is to go on the tumblrs of the authors you know you like and see what they recommend. Changes are, you’re gonna like what they read because it’s probably similar to what they’d write.
Another great place is the Ginny’s Lovers Discord. It’s a discord dedicated to Hinny lovers. They are so friendly over there. There’s a thread? (see I’m fucking old) where it updates whenever selected authors post. So sometimes you get things you don’t want to read or from different fandoms because the author used to write Hinny, but I have put a lot of stuff on my TBR from there. But I’m weird because I can’t read a bunch of WIPs at a time because I forget what’s happening so most times I just wait until a story is finished to read. I only keep one WIP at a time (that updates fairly consistently) but I constantly check the fanfiction updates tab there so I can see what stories are still posting and not. You can also ask for recs on different CHANNELS (is that what they’re called?? See how fucking incompetent I am??) with something specific and those amazing people always come through. While I’m not very active on there because social anxiety, they’re all super nice and helpful and may help you find stuff you want to read.
Other than that, ask your favorite authors on tumblr what their favorite stories are or what they’re currently reading.
Make friends in the fandom and read what they read. @funbunnypotter26 is an AVID reader of all things Hinny and Jily. She’s my sister from another mister. She knows exactly what I like and don’t like and she sends me recs ALL THE TIME. Everyone needs a friend like her because she just knows how to find the gems. What is your secret?!?!?
But those are my suggestions. I hope that helps!

do u ship regulily or jegulily and if so do u jave any headcanons or anything ud like to ramble about them hehhee (or mayhaps a snippet if you've written anything 👀🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽)
My friend I will ship anything if it's cute enough lmao.
I've written some bits and pieces for Jegulily! Through The Veil is Jegulily, and so is my poor neglected Blind!Regulus AU. I am a stuanch supporter of the 'Love triangle? But [CHARACTER] has two hands' philosophy. OT3s reign supreme.
Hmmmmm let me grab some Regulus introspection from the Blind!Regulus AU for you.
-
He’d not lied to Lily, saw no point to lies most of the time. He did think she was beautiful, and James too, and Remus and Barty and Pandora. He thought Evan was beautiful as well, and Wilhelmina Lavrentyeva, with the curls so prominent in her hair that he could feel them when she let him muddle through braiding it, and Jisoo Cho in Hufflepuff, with her carrying, cackling laughter. He thought plenty of people were beautiful, once he knew them well enough to decide they were.
He didn’t… have any frame of reference, any more, for what other people classified as ‘beautiful’. Regulus was reasonably sure his mother had been thought to be so, but the only lasting image of her that he could conjure up was that final one, with her brow scrunched and her mouth twisted into a sneer.
But with Lily and James it was also different.
James, once Regulus had managed to move past his defensive anger at the other boy stealing Sirius from him, had been the first person Regulus had ever thought of as beautiful. His laughter was hiccuping and helpless, and he leaned all of his weight against Regulus when he talked to him, and his gait was bouncing, ever so slightly, unmistakable whenever he walked toward him. His palms were stocky and square, and rough with callous, and he smelled like broom polish. He was beautiful, in the way hope was beautiful. In the way steady, soothing things were beautiful.
Lily was beautiful in the way Regulus imagined forest fires were. It was impossible not to know that Lily Evans was beautiful. To know her was to be consumed, or devoured, or- overwhelmed, he supposed, like getting caught in a riptide. Words didn’t do her justice. She took Regulus’ hands in hers when he made her blush and held his fingers to her cheeks so he could feel the warmth of it. Her hair smelled like lavender, and when she was annoyed she clicked her tongue against the backs of her teeth, and she hummed under her breath when she wrote her essays.
Much as Regulus could - and did - judge the way he’d gone about it, he couldn’t judge James for how infatuated with her he always had been. Really, the greatest mystery to Regulus was that it was taking her so long to feel the same way in return.

THANK YOU FOR GRACING US WITH YOUR MASTERPIECES SNSIDKSJXJXJDJD IM PLANNING TO BINGE READ ALL OF UR WORKS IN PEACE NOW THAT I HAVE A LONG WEEKEND AHEAD OF ME HEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEH
Omg thank you so much lovie!!! I was so scared to do a whimsical character because I honestly didn’t think I’d be able to do the characterization justice but I just love her so much in everything I’ve ever read (Luna in the HP books, all of @/moonstruckme’s pieces etc) that I wanted to give her a go and I think she’d be so good for Remus.
And isn’t she funny??? I don’t think she meant to be funny or hurtful either like she said it so innocently like, there was no motive to her saying that at all.
I think Remus and Moony are gonna struggle a lot in this middle ground (he has her but not really). So it’ll be fun to see them mooning (haha) over her in the next chapter.
Barty is officially my favourite peripheral character to write for - he always adds comedic relief and drama and it’s just *chefs kiss*
Drink Snob is in a weird place right now because I know where I want it to go but I have to like….write stuff to get it there??? Ugh the worst hahaha but I love Jegulily so much because everyone gets a happy ending and James gets everything he could have ever wanted (and deserves), and Hope Lupin is one badass mama bear ugh I love them all so much.
Elle is based off of a friend I have actually!!! I don’t always agree with her (or Elle, in our Drink Snob’s case) but her heart is always in the right place.
HAPPY LONG WEEKEND BABES!!! So glad to have you here and I hope you have the most fun reading all my pieces (id love to hear which are your favourites 🥹)

I watched The Other Woman the other day and now my brain is making me sad with a modern AU James cheating on Regulus and Regulus finds out and blames himself a lot because James is James and adhkj. And Regulus realises his whole life is devoured by James, his friends are James' friends and he works at James' dad's company and he's raising Harry and Neville even tho he's always been afraid to have children and the only person he can talk to about all this is his husband's lover. he's afraid to tell Sirius because sirius picked james over him once already and regulus wouldn't be anle to bear it happening again
Lily is a cut-throat lawyer and when she finds out her boyfriend of two months is married she drops him like a hot potato because she's not a homewrecker. Regulus is already pretty wrecked tho and Lily recognises that he's in a difficult situation and offers the listening ear and a comforting shoulder
"Was he your first?" Lily asked. He shook his head. "I used to date my friend Barty at high school." Lily hid a vince in her wine. She couldn't imagine marrying a second boyfriend any more than she could imagine marrying the first. And high school was - so long ago! "It wasn't very good. He was… hurting me." The faint smile on his lips was the most heartbreaking thing. "But at least from him I saw it coming."
anyways regulus recconects with barty (who's still in jail because of the involvement with murdering of neville's parents, it's a whole thing) and evan (who's dying of cancer for some reason wtf brain? But he's also totally up to taking regulus live in if he decides to leave james and that's sweet of them)
neville notices papa is very sad all the time now and makes him a picture at school to cheer him up and that's what convinces Regulus he HAS to address the issue with James. He can't let it affect the children
As like in the movie Lily invites James to her office and she's there as an emotional support friend for Regulus as he lays out the options they came up with: marriage counseling, divorce, some variation of polyamory. Regulus is pretty much too sad and tired to care about himself he just wants what's best for the boys.
Idk why james cheated in the first place but unlike the dick in the movie he doesn't try to lie about it. He knows he fucked up and he's willing to do everything he can to fix that. They do the marriage counseling and on the counselor's reccomendation they both take separate therapy too. They consult a child physiatrist on how to best handle the situation regarding the boys, and have some very difficult conversations with them.
they find out harry is the baby Lily got from a drunk one night stand and gave up for adoption because she didn't want to be a mother and couldn't find the father
sirius finds out/is told and is super upset on Regulus' behalf probably punches james too and there's a lot of crying on everyone's part
regulus takes more time for himself to feel like his own person again. The first friend he'd made in years was his husband secret lover how pathetic is that? So he starts going out more like he joins craft classes n stuff to meet new people, his mental health gets loads better (he's been a right mess because all the old insecurities and trauma from his childhood reared their ugly heads)
idk if it ends with all three of them going separate romantic wasy or if it ends up with jegulus jily regulily or jegulily, and I think it should stay open ended

hello hello, sorry that it’s been so long :( i’ve missed you.
i will hear the song if it’s the last thing i do 🥸 what’s it called? what’s the first lyric?
what book is it? why is it your favourite? summarise it in three words?
i hope you allow yourself to be a child sometimes. growing up so quickly must be tough.
nostalgia is my hamartia, i’m very stuck in the past, whether it is good or bad. also my great aunt has the most beautiful house, i’d love to live there when i’m older but it’ll probably go to the other side of the family. we can hope :)
i don’t really have any definitive life goals. i’m more of a live and let live kind of person, what’ll happen will happen and i shan’t waste time fretting about it. but i would like to own lots of cats when i’m older and have the village i live in suspect me of being a witch. i think that’d be fun.
i love people who talk a lot and are passionate about things they are interested in. there is nothing i enjoy more than listening to someone ramble on about a historical event i’ve never heard of or a movie i’ll never see. my best friend is very much a talkative person and i think that’s why we get on so well.
how many people can come to my party? i would probably invite: my two best friends, david bowie, regulus black, frida kahlo, oscar wilde, amy winehouse, boris pavlikovsky (from the goldfinch), my great great uncle who’s existance no one knew about until a few weeks ago (he had a very interesting life) and you :) i think we’d all have some very interesting conversations.
my favourite quote is ‘i don’t know. poets are always taking the weather so personally. they’re always sticking their emotions in things that have no emotions.’ from the catcher in the rye.
questions for you:
- what are you doing right now?
- are you religious?
- how do you define art?
- do you want to get married? would you marry a friend in a non-romantic way?
- what’s your favourite smell?
- what would you name this chapter of your life?
- are you a responsible person?
- what’s your favourite punctuation mark and why?
HAHA HI!!! i missed you too!! i was telling the jegulily server about how i missed you…… then again, idk who you are, so maybe you saw that. (mysterious music.) anyway i hope you’re well & i mean… didn’t you say you were going to see harry yesterday? so you MUST BE well
re: your song… it’s called counting hours. you’re not gonna find it online but maybe i’ll send it to you if/when you tell me who you are. (not holding it hostage, i just don’t wanna post it publicly hahaha!! first line is “spent the early hours of june reading quotes from whitman” i guess you don’t know what that has to do with you, but the rest of the song is… a little more obvious xx
the book is looking for alaska! i think i mentioned it before. i like how it explores grief and unanswerable questions, as well as how it talks about growing up. for three words, i don’t know, i’d maybe say “famous last words” :)
you definitely seem like the type of person one would mistake for a witch. and believe me, that is the highest of compliments coming from me. and about nostalgia, YEAH. yeah. G-d yeah. i feel like nostalgia rules my life sometimes, but i don’t really mind that? i was talking with my dad about that recently, about trying to recreate old memories & bring the past back. i think there’s something beautiful about that.
i like the live & let live philosophy. i think it makes for an interesting life. my favorite kinds of people are the ones who aren’t afraid to do something unexpected, to seek out new opportunities & go on adventures. a change of plans is my favorite thing. have you always been like that, or is your decision to embrace that a new thing? (i am ignoring your use of the word shan’t, lest i make a fool out of myself in my own tumblr post…)
listening to people ramble is a secret favorite of mine. i have a friend who’s really into films, & i love to get him ranting about his favorite plot lines & all that cinematography stuff that i don’t understand. i don’t even like movies! but i like listening to him talk about them. what’s something you like to ramble about like that?
i like your quote & i like your dinner party. i question how wise it is to invite boris, given he’d probably derail the whole thing… but i suppose that’s the whole point, and what makes it fun. consider this my rsvp! i think regulus, bowie, & boris would either be best friends or sexy rivals. can’t decide, but i’m here for it. also, your great great uncle?? i would love to hear the story there.
right now, i’m sitting on a porch swing & thinking about you. the temperature is perfect out here, humid enough to feel like a hug without descending into something more like a chokehold. i keep getting distracted & staring at the daylilies across the road. i was sitting in the living room before, but my parents were talking so i stepped out here to focus on writing this. after, i think i’ll play guitar for a bit – i was working on something earlier that i’d like to continue.
yes, i am religious! i’m a religious jew, which i think i’ve probably mentioned before because i honestly don’t shut up about it. it’s shabbat today, & i actually just got back from an event at synagogue. it was a pride event more than a religious thing, though – i convinced the rabbi to go out in drag, which was fucking brilliant honestly. anyway, judaism is easily one of the most important things to me. how about you? i always worry it’s rude to ask but i love talking about faith.
okay i had a conversation about defining art a few months ago & it just about broke my brain… genuinely it was in like january but i still don’t have an answer, no matter how much i think about it. i kinda think art is an arbitrary categorization we use to fit human expression into a box, but my opinion there could be changed with a strong wind. help????
i’d definitely like to get married someday, but it’s not a goal i’m working towards or anything… obviously, i think. i’d definitely marry a friend. it all comes down to whether it’s the right person. (if this is an offer, my answer is yes xx)
my favorite smell is rotting wood.
i’d name this chapter of my life “the wandering” because i feel like i’m looking for something, but i’m not sure what it is & i’m not in any rush. taking my time! it feels a lot like wandering.
responsible??? me???????? i suppose it depends on what you mean by responsible. in some regards, sure. in others, not at all. i don’t like the idea of responsibility, though, it feels stifling – i’d rather dedicate myself to things out of love than out of any sense of responsibility. not sure if that makes sense or answers your question.
i like semicolons!! as my best friend can surely tell you… i just feel like they conceptualize my ceaseless need for elaboration. i’m wary of overusing them. but yeah i learned how to use a semicolon in elementary school & i’ve been terrorizing people with them ever since.
as always, i love the questions you pick! some from me:
- what grounds you?
- what’s a feeling you find overwhelming? how do you cope?
- what’s your relationship with music? what does it mean to you, how do you interact with it?
- favorite fruit?
- tell me a secret?
hope to see you in my inbox soon!! kind regards <3

001 for the asks! Pairing: Jegulus?
when I started shipping it if I did: I encountered this ship in some of the Wolfstar fics I was reading and sort of thought “huh, never thought of that before, but cool.”
my thoughts: I mostly ship it in AUs. In fact, one of these days I hope to actually finish this weird, batshit crazy Jegulus AU where James is a superhero and Regulus is a supervillain who’s retired to open a pub.
What makes me happy about them: I think James would be so great for Regulus. He would be supportive and encouraging no matter what Regulus wants to do (which would probably be strange and unexpected for Regulus at first). Meanwhile, Regulus would keep James grounded and challenge him.
What makes me sad about them: I think Regulus would always have a very strong sense of familial duty  which would cause a lot of conflicts in their relationship.
things done in fanfic that annoys me: Make it too quick or too easy for them. I have some strong opinions on Regulus and while he definitely redeemed himself, I believe he genuinely agreed with Voldemort and other blood supremacists on a lot of things, and it would not be a quick or simple process to get over that (I even think Sirius struggled with it for a long time, and he was more active in his rebellion). This is a ship that almost has to be either an AU or a slow burn for me.
things I look for in fanfic: I don’t actively seek out Jegulus fanfic, but I usually enjoy it when I encounter it. Like I said, I generally prefer them in AUs.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Well, I do like Jegulily, so the two of them with Lily in a poly ship is great! Otherwise, Jily is my favorite canon ship, so I obviously ship James with Lily. Most of the time I head canon Regulus as somewhere on the Aro/Ace spectrum, so I generally don’t ship him with people, or if I think of writing him in a relationship it’s generally an OC or very minor character and they have a sort of platonic wizarding power couple thing going on. Married for face and to produce a few babies and otherwise just happily wedded friends/business partners.
My happily ever after for them: No Voldemort timeline where they’re a reluctant/inadvertent tabloid fodder/power couple. James plays Quidditch then becomes a League commentator while Regulus gets a seat on the Wizengamot at a ridiculously young age and is a ruthless politician. Rita Skeeter writes so many ridiculous articles about them. James has to stop Regulus from cursing her, while he himself constantly pranks her in smaller, less fatal ways.
who is the big spoon/little spoon: James is the big spoon. He loves cuddling, and even though Regulus struggles to admit it out loud, he loves feeling cherished and just literally surrounded by love.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity: All things Quidditch related! They attend a lot of professional matches and all the world cup finals and are always making bets with each other and getting into arguments about it that they both always get over by morning.

James didn’t exactly consider himself good at all the wedding planning stuff. He was still a little awed that Lily Evans had even agreed to it. They’d been dating for four years, since they were eighteen, and it was kind of just the thing people did. James would have been happy just going on the way things were but he knew that was what everyone was expecting of him. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to marry Lily, it was just they already acted as if they were married, it didn’t feel like the actual wedding was worth it. Although James Potter had never said no to a party in his life.
He also didn’t want to leave everything up to Lily. He wasn’t completely useless and could help with the planning and getting shit done. Lily knew better than to have James do too much though considering his propensity for mischief. He’d been given things to do that were difficult to screw up.
James was in charge of the wine they were serving and Sirius’ brother owned a vineyard that he’d inherited from an uncle. Sirius and Regulus had inherited it together from their Uncle Alphie, but Sirius had no interest in wine besides drinking it, so he had let Reg take it over and apparently the business was thriving.
James had actually never met Regulus before despite Sirius being his best friend. After Sirius had begun to rebel against his parents, Walburga and Orion tried to limit his contact with Reg as much as possible so their only good son wouldn’t be influenced by the bad. Reg had gone to a very private boarding school somewhere in Eastern Europe. They hadn’t really had an occasion to meet since then as James had been busy starting his life with Lily.
As he walked into the tasting room, it was so classy he felt like maybe he should take off his shoes so he didn’t track mud anywhere. There were large black leather sofas for people to sit down and enjoy their wine. There were also a few tables on the other side and a bar with stools in the center of the room. The lighting was warm and inviting, like someone could just sit for hours and enjoy the wine.
James knew Regulus was expecting him as Sirius had booked the appointment for him. As it was the middle of the day on a Thursday, it wasn’t as if there were a lot of people there. Just an older retired couple in the corner at one of the tables, chatting quietly and enjoying their afternoon with nowhere to get to.
He took the opportunity to study the different kinds of wine that were displayed on the wall. James didn’t exactly know a lot about wine but he knew it usually gave him a headache. He was more of a whiskey and beer kind of bloke. Still, Lily preferred wine and it seemed like the more wedding type thing to do.
“You must be James,” a silky baritone voice said from his right. James turned and felt like he was hit in the face with a frying pan. Regulus Black was gorgeous. He wasn’t sure why he was so surprised, after all Sirius was a very good-looking bloke. He had the same dark hair but it was shorter and more styled. He had sharp features, high cheekbones and a cut jawline. His eyes were a bit more sunken in than Sirius’, making his grey eyes seem even more pronounced.
“Yes,” James said after having to clear his throat. “James Potter.”
“Regulus Black,” he said, holding out his hand. His fingers were long and slender, almost delicate. James cringed at his own rough hands as he shook Reg’s. “It’s nice to meet you finally.”
“Yeah,” James said, taking his hand back and shoving it into his pockets in embarrassment. “I was starting to think Sirius was keeping us apart on purpose.”
Reg smiled, bringing one thin finger to his lips and biting down on it. Christ, everything about him seemed sinful. “My brother has never been good about sharing. A poor Paddington bear once suffered the consequences by being ripped in half.”
James chuckled. “I wouldn’t know anything about that. Only child I’m afraid.”
“Lucky you,” Reg said, quirking his eyebrows playfully as he dropped his finger from his lips. “Now, what were you thinking for your wedding?”
James shrugged. “To be honest, I know fuck all about wines.”
Reg nodded as if he’d been expecting it. James wasn’t sure if Sirius had warned Reg about James’ lack of knowledge or if he should be offended that Regulus had just assumed he knew nothing. “How about a tasting?” he offered, gesturing towards the bar. “We can go through a range of wines and find what you like. Unless the bride already has some selections.”
James shook his head. “I think she usually drinks a cabernet but she’ll pretty much take whatever is on offer.”
Reg walked gracefully over to behind the bar and began getting set up. He uncorked the first wine with a flourish and poured James a glass. James sat down on one of the stools and watched Reg. He moved like a dancer, his body having such ease to it as if it wanted to go wherever Reg had in mind, everything working in perfect unison.
Regulus slid over a piece of paper with a list of wines on it. “After you taste each wine you score it on a scale from one to five, five being the highest. We’ll start with the sweeter wines and work our way to drier wines. If your fiancée enjoys Cabernet then it’s possibly she’s more into the dry. We’ll see what passes your fancy though.”
James struggled not to mention that Regulus was what he fancied most at the moment. They chatted as James tasted over fifteen types of wine including a few cordials. They were all mostly delicious with only a few not really doing it for him. Regulus’ eyes lit up when he talked about wine and it was clearly a subject he was very interested in. James loved listening to him talk and realized he’d been sitting for hours only by the fact that his arse had lost most of the feeling in it. The older couple in the corner had left and it had been just him and Reg for some time.
“Fuck,” James said, checking his phone. He was slightly buzzed from all the wine. “Lily will be wondering where I am. Guess we’ll be having a takeaway for dinner.”
Regulus smiled politely. “Sorry to take up so much of your time.”
“Don’t be,” James assured him quickly. “I had a really good time. Can I buy a bottle to take home with me? I think Lily would really like it.”
Regulus nodded and turned away. James wasn’t sure but he thought he saw a pained expression cross Reg’s face. When he turned back around, he was holding a bottle of cabernet, his smile never faltering. “It’s on the house,” he said, holding it out to James.
“Absolutely not,” James protested, shaking his head emphatically. “You already wouldn’t let me pay for the tasting even though I googled what you normally charge for that. You’ve done enough, Reg.”
“Just take the stupid bottle,” Reg said with a put upon sigh.
James pushed his glasses up and huffed in annoyance. As he took the bottle from Reg, their fingers brushed against each other and James could have sworn he felt electricity at the touch. He held the bottle in one hand and fished his wallet out with the other. He put fifty quid into the tip jar with a pointed look at Reg. He wasn’t sure if that was enough to cover everything he’d had that day but at least it was something. It didn’t make him feel quite so guilty.
“So…” he said, shuffling awkwardly. “I’ll see you around then?” He realized he really didn’t want to leave.
“You know where I am,” Regulus answered with a small smile. “Congratulations, by the way, I don’t know if I ever said it.”
“Yeah, thanks,” James said, a blush tingeing his cheeks. “I’d better go. I’ve taken up enough of your time.”
Reg ran his fingers through his hair and shrugged. “I didn’t mind at all.”
James felt his stomach twist painfully. He had a fiancée. It didn’t do to go around fancying other blokes when he had the girl of his dreams waiting at home. “Thanks again, Reg. I hope to see you soon.”
           “I’d like that.”
As James left the tasting room, he clutched the bottle of wine to his chest and pressed himself up against the wall of the side of the building. The whole thing was just so bloody inconvenient.
                                                           ***
James got curry on his way home, unsure if it paired with red wine, but figuring they’d drink it anyway. He should have asked Regulus what would go well with the wine. It seemed like the sort of thing he’d know.
“James,” Lily called out, pulling him from his reverie of thinking of Reg as he dragged his naan through the curry sauce. “Earth to Potter.”
James glanced up from his plate to find Lily staring at him expectantly. He cleared is throat and took a bit of his naan just to stall for time. He had no idea what Lily had been talking about before he spaced out. “Yeah?” he asked with his mouth full.
Lily rolled her eyes. “So who is it?”
“What?” James asked, nearly choking on the half-chewed bread in his mouth. He took a huge gulp of his wine and that didn’t help at all because the wine made him think of Reg. His face heated up in embarrassment.
“You’ve been sighing wistfully the entire meal,” Lily pointed out with a knowing grin. “If I didn’t know better, James, I’d say you were in love.”
James took a deep breath and ran his fingers through his hair. “Don’t be ridiculous. I’m in love with you.”
Lily shrugged. “I’ve been in love with more than one person at once.”
James stared at her in surprise. “Am I one of those two people?” he asked, this being the first he’d ever heard of it.
Lily nodded and pulled one of her knees up to her chest, hugging it as she ate her food. “The year we got together. Our first dating. I’d been in love with Marlene Mckinnon for years before that. It was part of the reason I kept turning you down. Well, that and you were a massive prick back then. Marlene and I used to fool around a lot but I definitely was in love with her. She developed feelings for Dorcas Meadows and I realized you weren’t so awful so we broke things off. But I still had feelings for Marlene even as I started falling in love with you. It’s possible to love more than one person.”
James’ jaw dropped. “Wait, I was a rebound?”
Lily groaned. “Bloody hell, Potter, that wasn’t exactly the point of the story.”
“You never told me any of that!” James said indignantly. “I didn’t even know you were bisexual!”
“I didn’t know you were either,” Lily shot back accusingly and James’ face reddened again. “You didn’t go to work today and so there’s really only one person it could be, unless you feel in love with Mrs. Gupta at the curry place we go to.”
James shuffled uncomfortably. He had forgotten how intuitive Lily could be, how clever she was. Of course she would work it out. No one had ever accused James of being subtle. “Lily, nothing happened, nothing will happen.”
           “Says who?”
“Says me!” James said in frustration. “It’s just a stupid crush. I wouldn’t do anything about it.”
“Why not?” Lily said, her tone teasing and James looked up to find her raising an eyebrow at him. “I think I want to meet this Regulus who turned your head.”
           “Lily no!”
           “Oh yes!”
                                                           ***
James was a ball of nerves as they entered the tasting room. He didn’t know what to expect from any of this and the uncertainty had him on edge. Lily seemed to be having the time of her life, getting a chance to playfully rib James for once instead of the other way around. He didn’t even understand what Lily was hoping to gain from all this. Maybe just ammo against James to use for the rest of their lives together. He’d been trying to talk her out of this stupid plan since the previous evening but Lily was steadfast.
Regulus walked in from the back carrying a case of wine. He stopped when he spotted James and smiled at him before glancing over at Lily. He looked a pit panicked as he put the case down on the bar. “Hello again,” he said, his expression schooled into something more neutral. “How can I help you?”
“My fiancée would like to take you out on a date,” Lily informed him. James felt his jaw drop in surprise and his eyes flickered over to Reg nervously.
“Lily,” he hissed, feeling his palms begin to sweat.
“I don’t blame you, James,” Lily said, looking at him over her shoulder and giving him a sweet smile. “Bloody gorgeous.”
“I’m sorry,” Regulus spoke up. “I’m confused.”
Lily walked over to the bar and bent over it, getting close to Reg while James watched them in horror. It felt like everything was going in slow motion, like a car crash. “It’s quite simple,” Lily informed him. “James has a crush on you. I don’t have a problem with that. Are you interested in girls or is it just blokes?”
Regulus looked dumbstruck for a moment and looked at James for help. James could only shrug in response. Regulus blinked a few times and then his attention went back to Lily. “I’m interested in women as well as men.”
Lily smiled. “Then maybe both of us will take you out on a date,” she said, looking behind her and waving James over. James stumbled closer and stood beside his absolutely bonkers bride to be. “Only if you’re interested in that, of course. I’d understand if you’d want it to be just you and James. It seems you two made quite the connection yesterday.”
Regulus’ eyes flickered between James and Lily as if he were working something out in his head. When their eyes met, James gave him a reassuring smile, wanting Reg to know this wasn’t some kind of joke. Reg licked his lips and nodded as if he understood. It felt like a similar non-verbal communication went on between Reg and Lily. He felt a bit relieved by how quickly Regulus and Lily seemed to be hitting it off. After what felt like a lifetime, Reg’s face broke out into a smile. “Well then,” he said, grabbing a bottle of wine and pouring three glasses. “How do you two feel about Indonesian food?”
